Well, I'm getting ready to watch game 6 of the Pistons, and I can't find it on any channel. The last 5 games been on regular TV so I call this. He chose me to go to channel 156 and I do, and it's a two year old game so I asked him, how much time is left in the contract. He says 16 mo 320.00 to get out, or I will offer you a one time discount of 40.00. I've been with this one 3 years ago. I asked him about the Tigers. They said we're working on it. 3 years later still working on it. I'm gonna pay the 320.00. I told him to keep his $40. I'm done with this deal. Save your money. You'll be disappointed. They offer me 250 stations, and I probably watched 15 of them. What a waste.

We have the Dish tail gate, overall it's better than the local channels at our campground, I have the same channels as I do at home, but.... Unless the main receiver is on, the 2nd receiver works well, but the receivers only stay on for a certain amount of time, the main receiver is in our bedroom with the door shut so I don't see the TV on, when that receiver turns off after 4 hours it kicks the 2nd off, which we have to go into the other room to turn it back on, and the 2nd receiver also kicks off after 4 hours, why can't the receivers stay on until you shut them off, technicians do not know this when you call, I had to figure it out myself. Our dish receiver at home doesn't shut off until I turn it off, sometimes the tail gate one shuts off and then we have to wait for it to reset which takes up to half an hour, it is annoying when your watching a show, please work on these problems.

You better think twice before you sign with Dish! I was a customer for 11 years, but when they lost my CBS station over fees (billionaires fighting over pennies), I decided to cut the cord. It is nearly impossible to cancel the service. Tried to cancel once, guess it didn’t take, so tried again a month later. You can’t cancel online or by chat, you have to call a special number. Was on hold for 29 minutes.

I rarely write reviews, but this experience with Dish Network warrants serious attention. We initially contacted Dish to cancel our service. During that call, the representative made very specific and repeated assurances that if we remained with the company, our package would include multiple streaming services as part of a bundled offering—including Hulu, Netflix, HBO, and Paramount+. We clarified this multiple times on the call, and each time the representative confirmed that these services would be included. Based on those representations, we agreed to move forward with a new contract.
Unfortunately, those commitments were not honored. We received only one of the promised services, and the remainder were never provided. When we attempted to cancel due to this misrepresentation, we were told we would be subject to early termination fees. We were also informed that prior calls could not be retrieved, despite the fact that the terms were clearly discussed and agreed upon. This raises serious concerns about accountability and documentation.
Additionally, we were promised four Joeys and received only two. At this point, the pattern is difficult to ignore: commitments made during the sales process were not fulfilled, and resolution efforts have been met with resistance rather than accountability. From a customer perspective, this feels misleading at best and, at worst, a breach of trust. We are now exploring our options, including having this matter reviewed by legal counsel. Dish has an opportunity to address this appropriately. Until then, this has been an extremely disappointing experience that I would caution others to carefully document before agreeing to any changes or renewals.

Dish Network is a big rip off. My bill is $160 a month, my service is worth $50. My family and I can’t watch half the channels in our package. All the local channels are showing signal lost, but dish tells you not to contact them because they’re working on the issue. It's going on two months now and still the same bullshit. After my contract runs out I’m done with this. So if you're searching for tv service dish AIN'T where you wanna be. Piss poor service, but you still have to pay a full bill. No discount, it’s all about what you can do for dish. A ** joke!

Terrible remote, dvr, joeys!!! Can't get certain channels on joeys! Absolute garbage. Shuts your tv off if been on too long!! Reboots itself at least 2x a day!!!! Channel freeze on regular basis! Customer service is slow and not very good. Overall an F. Will be cancelling in 2 mo when contract is up. My google box is 1000x better and much cheaper.

I’m very upset Dish has dropped NBC. I’ve switched to antenna tv in the living room so I can watch the local news among other programs.

If I could give DISH zero stars I would! Their battle with Gray Media has left us without two of our local channels for over six weeks. Their offer of a $10 credit, an antenna or a lower priced plan didn’t cut it for us, so we cancelled our subscription. Basically they just kicked us in the shorts by charging us $40 because we still had two months left on our contract, plus $25 to send the equipment back. They would not waive those fees even though I pointed out that they didn’t honor their contract with us to provide our local channels. They just laid the blame on Gray Media. Way to treat a good customer for over nine years, DISH!

Dish has the worst customer service. They outsource their customer service to people who can’t make decisions. They are quick to add equipment to your home, but hidden in the fine print of their contract is that if you disconnect service, removing their awful looking dish is the customer's responsibility. I will never use them again.

Dish has still refused to take $5.00 off monthly for CBS being off the Air for NOW since end February. I've been marking it every day on my own calendar every day CBS has been off! I called DISH Network and all I get is people from India customer service not the people in the United States. Telling me, "NO you're not getting anything from us." This is crazy! I've been with them for years and thinking about telling them to take a hike. I just wanted &$5.00 off monthly for the CBS they can afford it!

Updated on 04/26/2026: Poor customer service. We're going to stream going forward. Ridiculous pricing with loss of CBS, NBC & FOX... Not our fault you can't negotiate a contract with them. Those networks were part of the contract you had with us.
Original review: Tired dealing with Dish Satellite TV lack of customer service. Rates spike and agent(s) talk over you and don't listen to your concern while repeating same company rhetoric. They delivered the equipment...they can pick it up! Time to STREAM and receive so much more via WIFI!

Dish Network is horrible! No local channels for the past month and a half but they are still charging us for them. Going to cancel as soon as the fee gets lower. Would not recommend them at all.

DISH Satellite is the absolute worst unprofessional company to deal with. Each representative is inconsistent. I can vouch for poor customer service, fall to equipment, and major hidden fees. Don't trust anything they say and be prepared to have a horrible experience. Better yet find a different service.

Twice now I have had to pay $15 to get a new receiver. Reason. They say hard drive failure. That's crap. It stopped working because the HD became 100% full. It doesn't like that. And leaves no way to delete things. The thick foreign accents from customer service doesn't help. Plus they know nothing. Probably just following a flip chart in responding. Aerospace engineer with 31 years experience. I can tell you they don't know anything.

I have been with Dish for years! The customer service is horrible. If we have any rain or wind storms, you can count on losing your channels. I've had this happen multiple times and I have been with out TV service for 5 days now. This is why they have you sign contacts now, because they know that their services are horrible and do not perform correctly.

Basically eliminate all the channels you sign up for and lock you into a two year contract that they can violate, but you can’t. Criminal bait and switch.

DON'T GET DISH, I was a loyal dish customer for 27 years, but over time the constant price increases became unreasonable. When I finally decided to cancel, the experience turned into a complete nightmare. They claimed I was still under contract and referenced something I supposedly signed back in 2012—over a decade ago—which made no sense. When I asked for proof, they provided that old document and tried to enforce it as if it were current.
On top of that, after I canceled, I was charged twice and then told I owed a $280 cancellation penalty. I spent over an hour and a half on the phone trying to sort it out, only to get nowhere. Now I have to follow up again just to fix their mistakes. After nearly three decades as a customer, this is extremely disappointing. Instead of valuing long-term loyalty, they made the cancellation process frustrating, time-consuming, and costly. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before signing up.

I needed a tech to come out to add extra service to our duplex. We work during the week so scheduled the first available appt on a Sat morning, 2 weeks prior. This morning we get a call that the tech will be here at 11, shortly after he calls and said his schedule got changed and he will be here at 6, that wouldn't work for us so I called Dish and they could not make it work and told me they had rescheduled for the next Sat, which they had not even asked if it would suit us which it doesn't as we have plans that Sat. So they would need to push us out a few weeks later. I told them to cancel the order and I didn't need their service.

I have been with Dish for several years, I have 3 locations. But over time the system is becoming less and less on information channels, no more CNN or FOX news without paying extra. Only a couple of movie channels and I'm sick of Harry Potter over and over. I'm a movie guy and not a sitcom or reality person. In my opinion, most of those are staged, fake or overrated. I'm also not a sports person. It seems that sports are forced more than anything else. I'm about to cancel and move to streaming. I've been trying it out and I can get much more than Dish offers. Thanks.

Dish Network is only concerned with making as much money as they can. Service is horrible and customer service is worse. They are currently in dispute with Gray and my family has lost local network CBS. They are blaming Gray and Gray is blaming them. There rates are already so high. They also are no longer carrying out their end of the bargain, but won't let us out of our contract because their customer service says we are getting all the over garbage stations still. We don't care about most of the stations that they make you have JUST so they can charge you ridiculous amounts of money. It is sad that tv that used to be free is now costing most people well over $100. I blame Dish just as much as Gray. I will be leaving Dish at the end of my contract.

I cancelled service about two years ago because we weren't going to be home for that period. When we return I called for the best available plan to restart. Installation went well and I had to purchase a couple of items, not too bad. The first bill went fine, correct price and paid by auto payment. But I got a second bill for the same month for $50 more. I figured the additional cost was the items I purchased at the installation. The next bill was the higher amount and said it was due immediately since the previous bill wasn't paid. I called them to try and resolve the issue. While talking with customer service I noticed there were two different account numbers on the bills. They had reactivated my old account without the discounts in addition to the new account!
They finally cancelled the old account and said they had credited all but two days of that account. They said they could not credit anymore because the bill was too old! I asked for a supervisor who told me the same thing. I asked for someone higher and was told there was no one. They promised to have someone call me, but after two days I haven't heard anything. Find a more reliable company if there is one, I know almost all of them SUCK.

I was a loyal Dish Network customer for over 10 years, and the way I’ve been treated is beyond frustrating. Over time, they kept taking away my local channels with little explanation or resolution. That alone was disappointing, but it gets worse. I finally decided to disconnect my service, only to find out they are STILL charging me for a full month of service I no longer even have. When I tried to resolve the issue, customer service was completely unhelpful—and to top it off, they actually hung up on me. After more than a decade of loyalty, this is how they treat customers? Completely unacceptable. I’ve since switched to DirecTV and won’t be looking back. DO NOT USE THEM.

Worst customer service experience I have ever had on a recorded line. The rep was downright rude and disrespectful the entire time all because I wanted something in writing about what was being said on the phone. I requested documentation for a replacement/repair because I wanted to make sure we could afford it. Rep was making comments about who pays my bill. She escalated the situation rather than just explaining their process. I was told a price then told it would be free. I requested to talk to a different rep and even asking for a manager because I was being called names and getting told to not call back. My only intention was to get a repair and replacement for our current system and wanted the estimate prior to them doing the service. I will gladly find another service and never use these services again. If I could rate the experience a zero or negative number I would.

After being loyal customers with Dish for 10 years we are leaving them. We have had to have the Hopper replaced 5 times in the last 3 and 1/2 years due to poor performance and function. Every time they brought another Hopper it wasn't any better than the previous one but we would suffer through it. They even promised us a brand new Hopper and when it messed up we were told by the technician replacing it that it was not a new Hopper at all. Now we are moving and we are done with Dish.
We have been told we have to pay $260 because we have another year on the contract but they have broken their contract by failing to provide decent equipment that works! We will never go with Dish Network again, too many better options out there. Dish better wake up or they are going to be out of business. These 2 year contracts disguised as 2 year price guarantees they put people under are antiquated and unfair. Especially when they do not hold up to their part of the bargain by providing good equipment that works instead of re-furbished equipment that has not been fixed properly and does not work. Why should I pay a $260 fee when they have failed to meet required and fair standards?

Ok so I was just on the phone trying to communicate with another human being trying to get the cable cord out of my room 'cause it’s going to be my cousin’s kids’ room when I move out soon. All I wanted to know was how to remove the cable cord and if it costs me any money. What did they do? While I was waiting, they hung up on me without letting me know. So forget that! I’ll find someone else to remove the cord but also I suggest if you don’t want to deal with this problem or kind of behavior, don’t get Dish cable. Try someone or something else. I understand that my bill is high and yes, I’m planning on paying it to make sure everything is good plus returning the equipment, but that right there was unnecessary. Never again.

I have been a customer of Dish Network for over 20 years without any problems for the first 10 years. Little by little the bills go up with fewer channel selection... which we have accepted. But now we pay to have our bill sent on paper, fine gotta pay for the paper. But they also only give less than a week to send the bill back out for payment. We are never late till they do this. Now we didn't get a bill and when we realized we hadn't got one it was already late, so we called them and their response was that it wasn't delivered by the post office, something went wrong there and that they will resend a new bill out and there would be no late fee.
When he got the new bill it didn't give a new date but was assumed it was noted in the file and they would take care of it. But then the Next bill came and now there is late fee on it, so I called them about it and they won't honor what they previous promised. They also added on the bill service we didn't ask for, don't know how long that's been there. This bill is in my husband's name so he pays it but he knows nothing about computers, that is why he chooses paper. They know they are doing wrong. This is not the first time we didn't get a bill. If they do this to us, how many poor old people that don't know any better are they ripping off.
