We use a little bit of everything with Insperity. We use every aspect of HR and we do the certified payroll. I do the certified payroll personally and I'd like a little freedom to move things around. With other software, I can have a couple of names saved in my folders. They have a little more control on my end. We had a lot of trial and error last year. Things weren't working, reports weren't pulling up and information was missing. But so far, things have stayed in place.
Still, Insperity also needs to look into modern updated versions of their software. When I look online at other software we can purchase their reports look amazing. The customer who's getting my certified payroll report doesn't need to know the meat and potatoes. They just need to know how many hours someone did work and what did we pay that person. Recently, I had a gentleman who forgot to clock out for lunch and it wasn't caught. So, we had to make an adjustment on his next payroll by half an hour. I could have easily plugged in the correct numbers and made one line item then attached two pay stubs but I can't edit. Now, I have two checks, two reports and I had to put an explanation. It made more work for me.
One of our biggest customers is the federal government and the certified payroll is one of the compliance items. We don't want to be flagged, not with the federal government. So, I like to try to keep things clean and streamlined. Sometimes, I have had to make my own form because of the things that have happened. But the team members, when I do have a problem, the direct Insperity team is amazing. They make it an urgent matter. We have to patient though because sometimes the problem is something none of us can figure out and the software team makes us sit and wait which is a bummer.
Some of our vendors are little mom-and-pops and I've had to teach them certified payroll. So, I know certified payroll is a good selling point for those little guys that want to get into federal contracts and are aa intimidated by that. Sometimes, people call me asking how I do certain things. I ask if they're ready and tell them “Okay, you ready? I'm gonna email you a bunch of stuff. Don't get overwhelmed.” Other than that, just because something needs a little tweaking doesn't mean something's bad. Our CEO has referred Insperity to other people she's affiliated with who also have companies.

Insperity is the best business decision I have made in a long time. I was with a different company before, who continually emails me that they want my business back. But they don't stand a chance in hell of ever getting it back unless Insperity all of a sudden falls apart. Insperity has freed up my time so that we can grow and increase sales, as opposed to concentrating on HR, payroll, and all the different state requirements that we have to keep on top of. After bringing them on, our business grew that first year by 30%. And they are so proactive. When COVID came out, they told us what we can and can't do and how things work. Also, they have training programs that we can take on different things. They have been a wealth of knowledge.
Hi Cathy, We're happy to hear your choice to work with Insperity has made for a positive, successful experience! We have been with Insperity for many years. We're a technology industry and to be able to recruit employees, we had to offer good benefits, including 401(k) and health insurance. For a couple of years, we managed all of those on our own but it was too time consuming and too expensive. At the time, Insperity's name was Administaff and they used to run humorous commercials on the radio. We gave them a call and signed up. We report our payroll biweekly and once a year, we go through the annual contract renewal. Occasionally, we may contact them with specific questions, but we're pretty hands off.
Hi James, We truly appreciate you sharing your feedback as a long-time client of Insperity. Hearing that our services and support have saved your company time and money – and having to manage HR administration tasks on your own – is what motivates us to work hard at what we do, every day. Thank you for choosing Insperity! We're pleased so serve you as our client.

We have been a client of Insperity since 2016. I would have given a 5-star rating until recently. On November 3 (after emailing multiple times about our renewal documents), we were informed that we no longer fit the Insperity model and our account would be terminated on 12-31-20. While I understand that business needs change to be given such a short window to find replacement health insurance, payroll, and other HR needs (during a pandemic no less) was absolutely avoidable. While we were eventually offered continued coverage for 2021, the 300% premium increase made this impossible for a small non-profit. The concept that you are a dual-employee is a bit misleading since employees are not lumped into a large benefit pool.
Hello, Barbara. We're sorry to see you rated your experience with us as one-star. Thank you for sharing your feedback. I was at a CEO function and Insperity had a booth. I was with ADP and I wasn't happy with the payroll services that we were getting there. We had done a PEO before, but I wasn't in one currently. I made a decision to go back to that type of relationship. The only thing I find difficult to look for is my employee’s paycheck stubs when they ask me for them. But then I've never had trouble getting ahold of someone at Insperity. Especially during COVID, there were things that I never would have thought to ask. They have saved my business money. I'd love to give them a major shout out. They're doing an amazing job and we refer them every chance we get. I'm really happy.
Hi Angela, Thank you for choosing to return to the PEO model to give Insperity the opportunity to serve you and your business. I used Insperity for about a year and they were good. But the more you dig into it, things can be tuned better. Insperity being a big company, it's a blanket order and you get what you get. So customization and price are the reasons why we're moving away from them. There's a lot of groups out there willing to negotiate right now because of the market. We were able to break things out and save ourselves a lot of money going elsewhere.

Insperity had the most robust offering for the cost and it's been good so far. With other services, you may have to leave a message and wait a couple days to hear back from them, but Insperity’s not like that. They're responsive. If they do not answer the phone, they try to get back to you as soon as possible, either with a call or an email. If I ever have an issue with the website, my contacts are more than happy to help out. It helped me find whatever it is I'm looking for. For the most part, it's intuitive, but I'm in there more often than the average employee. Whoever I speak to is helpful. If they don't have an answer, they'll research and get back to me, or they'll find somebody who can. It's a team effort.

We've been with Insperity for a while and the main decision was made by my employer. We were previously with Harbor America but they simply weren't able to provide us, especially in the health insurance realm, with a package that accommodated our requirements to the full extent. That was the initial reason for switching over to Insperity. They were simply attractive because of what they offered and because of their size.
We were trying to find a provider that gets us under the umbrella of health insurance coverage. That would have been significantly more expensive had we done this outside. On top of that, there are also payroll and tax-related things. Right now we're 11 people. Insperity is an extreme resource timewise. You have to allocate to the entire payroll-tax ordeal, which we're all not specialists here. It really helps to have a company taking care of all that and putting you within the legal limits. We go to them when we have issues and especially questions arising like those related to the entire COVID-19 ordeal. At this point, somebody has to take a leave and we didn't know how to handle it. We've always gotten very high responsiveness from the Insperity team members. The support has been great.
Generally speaking, Insperity is a pretty accessible, and low time effort. Payroll submission is easy and there's clear reporting. In that aspect, there was definitely an improvement compared to Harbor America. Outside of a small couple of little things, there's really nothing that wasn't satisfactory although there are some aspects of the online portal where we could suggest some improvements. Also, everybody could be cheaper but that's just in the nature of the game.

When I came to my company, they were using a different provider and everything was all over the place. Insurance wasn't part of the service they had. It was just payroll. I came from a company that used Insperity so I knew it was very streamlined. I switched my new company over to them. Our sales rep Chris was the sales rep for my old company. So, when he came to meet us, it was very easy. He was great to talk to and so easy to ask questions about. He knew my old company and their setup and said that they could just mirror that with my new company.
We do payroll insurance in Insperity and working with them has made the company better. Everything's a lot easier especially with the PPP loans that came out this year. Insperity did a lot of Zoom meetings to talk about those loans and made sure that people knew how to fill them out. Our CEO joined the meetings and made sure that we got our PPP loans with no problem. Insperity was such a good tool for us.

We two offices, one in Texas and one in Colorado. It would be easier to coordinate the different laws in between the two states with Insperity's services. We went with them and they've handled all our questions and concerns. One of those was when I complete a document, send it in and say that an employee has completed the document. Weeks later, I'm asked to repeat that and I just send in the copy that I sent the first time.
For Insperity's leave of absence area, every time I send something in, I get an automatic email saying that they will tend to it later. That's not necessary. Also, it would help with salary raises if there was a document to list all employees with their new wages for the coming year instead of having to do one for each employee. I only have 13 employees but I'm wondering if people who have hundreds.

I worked as an accountant for a small business for many years. They contracted with Insperity last year, and it was a big part of my decision to change jobs recently. I will never again work with Insperity. They promised the world, but they did not deliver on anything except cost savings for the employer. They squeeze and shortchange employees and ex-employees for the benefit of the company's bottom line, and their own.
As an accountant, they were very difficult to work with. Very little training, complex, clunky online system with two parts - Timestar and Insperity. They assigned me a super rude rep for the Timestar setup. He would not work with me to get paid-time-off set up and running. No one's paystubs ever had their PTO accrual on them. They switched main payroll processing reps on us 3 times in 4 months. Clunky, painstaking system for entering time. Total loss of control over payroll - couldn't easily correct errors or do deductions. Oh and there were lots of errors on Insperity's part - I had to correct them constantly during the submission process.
As an employee, they were very difficult to work with. We didn't have insurance cards and weren't activated when our benefits began, and for some time after, so I had issues with a doctor and prescriptions which took days to resolve. Mental health care pretty much ceases with Insperity. After I quit, Insperity terminated my coverage at midnight on my last day! Who does that? Then they waited until the very end of the legal limit to send my COBRA information. Had to pay full price for prescriptions and now am being told I won't be reimbursed. Customer service is uncaring, unresponsive, and a waste of time. Did Insperity save the company money? Yeah. But it was off the backs of hard-working employees. I didn't think it was right. So I found a different job and quit. I worked hard for over a decade at this company, but couldn't continue with such a heartless company as Insperity. They are cold and cruel. Not recommended.

I was employed by a company who used Insperity. After I left my position on 1/23, according to Texas SB 51 — my group insurance plan should of been terminated on 1/31 (the end of the month I left). Insperity instead terminated it on 1/23. I called to ask why my plan was terminated and cited TX SB 51, which they admitted they knew of. They told me to contact UnitedHealth Care. I did - and UHC directed me back to Insperity explaining “they are the one who enters the termination date for the policy for you.”
I then reached back to Insperity and they gave me the runaround. They asked if I was going to take COBRA (which shouldn’t matter). Then they explained that it can take up to 2 weeks for them to go back and update/fix the date - because I’m a Texas resident and their system is set-up to just handle terminations in general. Meanwhile I’m having to pay out of pocket for any prescriptions or medical services that I should have covered until the end of the month. Insperity did little to nothing to try and fix the issue — it’s not really in their interest since I’m not their employee anymore. All in all a horrible experience and poor implementation of TX SB 51.

The stupid idiots screwed up payroll THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING! They had one job! Can't even do that right, screwed thousands of people on Thanksgiving. Their website and app are horrible and extremely difficult to use.

They have NO desire to help employees of their direct clients. Their vested interested is with their direct clients only! I reached out to Insperity regarding a conflict at work with my direct supervisor. I provided the details & witnesses of the event to Insperity. My direct supervisor who is in Human Resources was violating my confidentially by reprimanding me in front of other employees. She began to discuss my work performance and threatened me by saying this is a verbal warning. I reached out to Insperity & the HR rep said that my supervisor's behavior was not inappropriate or out of line! She said it was OK for her to discuss my performance issues in an open environment & in front of other employees. She did not see my supervisor's actions as inappropriate or harsh! She also said my Supervisor was suffering from a cold which, made her voice rasp & that may have been misconstrued as an angry tone.
The Insperity rep also advised me that the witnesses she spoke to did not attest to the complaint I had which, is very false. Insperity ONLY cares about their direct clients. They have no ethical or moral standards when it comes to the well being of employees that are not their direct clients. They are NOT onsite on any of their client's businesses which, makes it a very unfair and unjust environment. They DO NOT want to bite the hand that feeds them. They will violate HR laws to keep their direct clients happy. DO NOT invest in Insperity! They are going to be slapped with lawsuits very soon! Stay away from them.

Had my health insurance and payroll from them. They had me paying 553.00 every two weeks for health insurance. But took 700 plus dollars two pay periods in a roll. Then when I dropped the insurance in Jan 2018 still charged me 553. O.o On my last paycheck and could not use insurance and of course the lie become you owed for insurance in Jan to Feb 1st. You keep it and God bless you.

This is hands down the most incompetent HR/benefits company I've ever dealt with. Their reps will misinform you and end up costing you a fortune because of their own incompetence. Trust me, you do NOT want to work with these people. They've lied straight to my face on several occasions. They're a disgrace to honest business and I hope they are forced to close their doors.

This is the worst of the HR service companies I have ever worked with, and I've worked with some of the big ones (ADP and Paychex). Their service-level and delivery are atrocious. When selling their services, they suggest that they will make your life easier from an HR perspective. In my experience, they don't. Quite the contrary - they make it harder. Everything little thing requires that you fill in a form to the extent that all you're doing is filling in forms or completing documents for them so that they can "manage" your HR processes. Frankly, it's easier and less time consuming for me or an HR staff member to just do it ourselves.
From the employee perspective, they are rude and not particularly helpful. Got a problem with your benefits, well good luck! Concerned about your client billing? Well you'll continue to lose sleep because their billing is known to be the least transparent in the industry and they charge for every single tiny thing. I also question their ethics of their sales team. There isn't one member of their team that I've found to be helpful or empathetic. All they seem to care about is their process, their procedures, their forms, and their bottom line. Anyone seeking a PEO is best advised, in my opinion, to run as far away from Insperity as possible.

This product allows me to complete all necessary tasks completely and with ease. I've never had an issue with it. Overall, very satisfied with this product. The product allows me to complete the needed tasks with minimal time spent on it. The steps are all streamlined very well. Very happy with its ease of use. Most of the product was fairly intuitive, and the training material was helpful, though it could have been a bit more thorough. For the price paid for this product, the value is quite good. Streamlined processes, good support services, and great customer service were all great selling points.

The variety is great. Get to choose many different things from and having the right one is what any person would want. It is very easy to use peo services and it's something that any workplace would want to have in it because it's so easy to use and it is awesome. Training is easy and it takes a little bit of time but when you do your job right it can't be that hard. Any normal person can do it so give it a try. The value of everything on there is pretty good. I would recommend it to any person who wanted it that badly and I bet they would love it.

Received my info easily and reliability was great. Especially around tax time it was simple that a child could use it. I remember the days of paper W2s and pay stubs and I'm a messy person they get lost or spills on them so having virtual access a password away is amazing. I tend to forget passwords a lot and it was very simple to reset them. It was very easily learned when I first had to use it. I cannot imagine not having it now. It only took one time to be able to learn how to use it. Basically like having a personal HR consultant. I'd have to say incredible value. As an employee it was free to use and the paper that gets saved is both cost efficient and amazing for the environment instead of printed out pay stubs and W2s.

All the tools I need to effectively manage my small business accounting needs. Payroll management and account reporting are especially useful and easy to use. The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. Available help and customer service are easily accessible and very friendly. This product was as simple to use for me as for a previous employer managing a much larger company. The availability of classes offered is sufficient to supplement the available user help options. I was able to access onsite training, online self-paced learning, and user forums that more than met all of my needs. The purchase and licensing costs were sufficiently recouped in a reasonable time frame. I did have to make more of an outlay on training than I would have liked, but this was offset by the value.
