    We use the PEO service with Insperity. But I'm going to discontinue. I'm just trying to set up the other end for our company. When we first signed on, it was very affordable. But it seems like the rates and the insurance rates keep increasing, which I understand, it's part of the market, but it's significant. Also, there are other people offering health benefits at a lower rate. That was the only benefit we really use. As far as payroll preparation, I still do it all myself if anything is in place. It's a little bit longer to complete the task. When I went to renew, it was with a different branch, but it became a huge nightmare. So I just decided to take it no more into my own hands.

    We're a small company, and we have eight people on the payroll. I was doing our payroll, but I got sick in the end of December of 2017, so I showed someone else how to do it. He's been doing it ever since, but when he’s not available, I go back to do the payroll. We both really like the payroll specialist we have, Shelley. If we have a problem, she helps us out with it. I would recommend Insperity.

    Updated on 04/16/2024: I wrote a review on Insperity on April 12, 2024. In my review, I outlined what happened regarding Insperity very unexpectedly, and without warning, terminating my COBRA health insurance coverage. The only reason I knew my health insurance had been terminated is because I contacted Insperity, and spoke with a representative, when I could not make my monthly April payment using their online COBRA payment portal.

    Insperity's public response to me here stated that they "understand the situation has been positively resolved." That is not true! I sent Insperity an email requesting they reinstate my COBRA health coverage, explaining I had no way of knowing my last three monthly payments didn't include the 2024 premium increase, due to the absolute lack of account/billing details on their invoices and website, and the absence of any communication from them notifying me of this situation. The Insperity Administration sent me an email response informing me they would not reinstate my COBRA health insurance.

    In summary, I was told what happened was my fault because the contract I signed in 2022 stated that my monthly premiums could increase every year. I understood that to mean I should contact Insperity at the beginning of the year, if I don't receive anything from them, to inquire whether my premium was increased. Apparently, Insperity believes I should also consider they increased my monthly premium, even if the new monthly amount is not disclosed on any invoice, bill, and/or in my account information.

    I did respond to this email, pointing out the absurdity of the reasons and excuses I was given for Insperity refusing to reinstate my COBRA health coverage. I had also posted a negative review of Insperity on another site. I received a curt email response from Insperity Administration stating they would "allow me to reinstate my coverage" because they had not "generated and mailed deficient payment letters." However, I would have to snail mail Insperity a check. It would then be an additional 5-7 business days after they process my payment for my insurance to be reactivated.

    So, my health insurance would not be available until close to the end of April, and that is assuming that entire process goes smoothly. In the interim, I have expensive prescriptions I have to fill. I don't trust that Insperity would retroactively reimburse me for my out of pocket cost for my prescriptions, or any other medical expenses I may unexpectedly incur over the next couple of weeks. I don't have the confidence that moving forward Insperity will handle this matter properly or responsibly.

    Original Review: On April 9th, 2024, I discovered that Insperity had terminated my COBRA health insurance. I never received any kind of notice or letter from Insperity informing me they had terminated my COBRA coverage. I was completely in the dark as to why this happened. I contacted Insperity that same day. The phone representative informed me the reason my health insurance was terminated is because I had not paid the full monthly premium due for January, February, and March. I was told that I had been sent payment coupons last December with the new monthly premium amount I would have to pay for 2024. I never received these payment coupons in the mail. So, I honestly didn't know my monthly premium had been increased.

    Furthermore, Insperity never sent me any kind of letter informing me that any of my monthly payments were not for the full amount due. I continued to receive monthly email invoices from Insperity showing they had processed/posted the monthly payment I submitted. Nowhere on those email invoices I received, does it show the actual monthly amount due, or any outstanding balance. Insperity's online COBRA payment portal also lacks those important payment details for your account and history. Their electronic payment coupons are completely blank. So, I legitimately had no way of knowing what was going on, and that I was not paying the full premium amount that was due. These business practices by Insperity for managing their COBRA health insurance accounts are unethical and unreasonable.

    I have a small business and needed somebody to help with the administrative side. I met with one of the sales representatives in person, which meant a lot. They gave us 30,000-foot overview, answered questions, and put a name to a face focal point. Insperity did everything that I asked of them. They did a fine job. It was a good experience. Their website was pretty user-friendly. Working with Insperity made things flow a little bit easier. The people that we hired sort of had big firm experience, even though we were a small company. We were still able to offer larger company incentives just in an easy online portal process, like going through the hiring process and the benefits. Insperity was user-friendly and people-oriented organization. It was like you have your own administrative team right at your fingertips. But we're not utilizing them anymore. Our firm no longer operates.

    We have the silver plan with Insperity and a 401k matching. With our contract, there's some life insurance. It’s the whole package of benefits. I miss having one liaison assigned to our account because they took that aspect away. But I've not found that my needs don't get met. I have to go about it a different way. The payroll specialist is always a good starting point on everything because generally, the bulk of my questions or anything I need to do is payroll-related. I tend to get the support I need. If there was a downside, for a small business, Insperity is expensive so the cost is a challenge. But the support aspect is a positive.

    We use Insperity's payroll services and health care. As a small company, it makes more sense for us to have a third party outside service rather than hire someone specific just for HR. There are also some other general benefits that we sometimes need to have some assistance with. Overall, the support that I have through the payroll specialist is very good. However, the people that I work with has changed four times within the last year. It's seamless when they change but I'm a little surprised sometimes by how quickly I'd get an email about it. The biggest issue we have is the cost. We have done some comparison shopping in the past. We probably could spend less money.

    We love Insperity. We utilize them for payroll and employee relations support. We have a personal relationship with the people there and they have supported us in our fundraising activities or events. They have donated boxes at the Reliance Center for sports events and things that our employees could take advantage of. As far as internal HR goes, they have supported us regarding employee issues, problems and advice. They help us on every level.     We have an all-inclusive HR package that had insurance for employees and that helped with manuals. It was really easy to deal with the salesperson, who was the person that I worked with previously. So, I had a good relationship with them. It was seamless and easy. Rebecca is very personable, knowledgeable, efficient and knows her stuff. She knows how to get you to the right place and get things taken care of.     Insperity was pretty efficient about the setup and it was pretty straightforward. But they had a bit of a boof when we rolled off our relationship with them. We sold the company and went from 30 plus employees to 3, down to 1. We were in discussions with them about keeping it on because there was a fixed term on the length of the extension and they, at the end of the contract, terminated us without giving us any advance notice. They were fundamentally not particularly responsive about it. Other than that, I'd give them generally high marks.

The part of the HR services that we use the most is revamping our employee manual, and when personnel questions come up, we have a resource to go to.     Initially, Insperity was good, but over the last year or so, it hasn't been too good. They have a corporate policy where they won't facilitate certain payroll transactions. They're our payroll administrator, so that created some difficulty for us and we had to get help from our tax provider. Insperity didn't help us at all. It also seems like they have a lot of turnover and we're constantly getting a new point of contact there. They're working on a handbook for us, and there's a delay in response. We're supposed to get that handbook uploaded to our site so when participants log in, they can see that, but that still hasn't happened yet. I have to keep following up with Insperity. For the most part though, they don't play a large role in our day to day, so it's not been an issue. It's functioned as we hoped.

    We're happy with Insperity. We were with TriNet for about five years and the Insperity folks were calling on us to switch. Our medical rates at TriNet went up so much that we decided to switch and started talking to the sales folks that were calling us. They were very responsive. We're a small company with 26 employees. They allow us to offer company benefits at a reasonable price. There are cheaper options out there, but it's a good value. We got their full suite of benefits. We also interact with our Insperity rep on a regular basis on things evolving COVID protocols. We have the ability to get online help and call a helpline, but we have one person that knows this and responds timely to us which is important.

    Since we are a small company, Insperity works best for our employees. However, some of the Insperity representative are more knowledgeable than others. Sometimes, we are waiting for a callback which never comes. It also takes a long time to go into my account. I enter my email and password. Then I have to get a code so they can verify it's me. I understand there are a lot of scammers but it takes longer to get into it. Sometimes the code doesn't come right away so I have to ask for another code which is very frustrating. I have flex plan and looking for what my balance is takes a moment. It's not easily accessible. Whatever I have should just pop up immediately on my sheet once I'm in.

    My employees like the flex plan and I do too. Medical bills are off the roof. When you go to a doctor, the first thing is a copay no matter what kind of plan you have. A specialist is $50 for it. Even if you go to the emergency room, they want $75. The flex plan helps our employees and me. I always take the maximum because you never know. I had surgery last year. I had a torn meniscus. I didn't have enough on my flex plan so I started to pay monthly on the bills I owe. When the new year came up, I paid it in full. I don't have dental but there are some other people that do, and they say I should do it. But sometimes Insperity doesn't notify us when the changes are eligible. I have to go into Insperity once a month or call the 1-800 number and ask when can I join for the dental plan.

    When we set up the US organization, we needed a PEO firm to support us. There was only one employee at the time, which was just me. I interviewed at least five different PEO firms and Insperity's options, benefit profile and overall cost were far more lucrative and better for a company of our size than any other PEO firm. The sales reps were very professional. They asked for a number of things upfront so they could get a deeper understanding of our business, our business model, growth trajectory, what we're looking to do and the industry that we're working in. The sales individual was also very keen to get a deeper understanding of the industry so that they could assist with any other partners and companies that they currently work with that could improve upon the collaboration between us and them as well as other companies. So there was a good business relationship and relationship-building approach that they had.

    The customer support was excellent. The customer service for Insperity is our first line of defense for employee questions as well. So anything that employees need, they have a hotline that they reach out to Insperity first before any individual HR members are contacted within our organization. Insperity has a very positive impact on our employee morale. The mundane administrative steps have all gone away because our employees have direct access to them. So from my vantage point, the employee satisfaction levels are much higher than they would otherwise be. I also see a huge benefit in overall industry-wide business relationships that Insperity has been able to help me with, introducing me to different parties.

    We've been with Insperity for 15 years. They gave us some stability. We're a small company, and I felt like it gave us power in numbers because we were put into this big group of employees. We weren't just this little old group of five people anymore. So, that also gave us better rates for insurance. With Insperity, we got insurance from a very reputable, known health insurance company. We do payroll through them. We do the 401(k). Their customer support reps are very responsive and helpful.

    The only thing is the person who does our payroll does payroll for a number of companies. And with Insperity, it feels like they make things difficult as far as letting the employer make changes. You have to call because you can't figure out how to do it yourself. So, their system isn't user-friendly. But when you do call, you get help. We needed to give me a raise one year, and you couldn't just go in and change the number in the paperwork involved. You had to fill out this form about who I report to and who reports to me.

    The other thing that bothers me with Insperity is every year, you have to renew. And it seems like every year, I have to argue with them about how much they went up on us. I usually email them and say, “Look. We've been with you for 15 years. I'd like to continue with you, but I'm not gonna be able to if you can't come down on this increase. And why has it gone up so much?” They'll usually work with us to a certain degree, but I can only talk my guys into so much. At some point, they're just gonna say it's not worth it. It is too high a price to pay, and we'll have to go somewhere else. Other than that, I trust Insperity. I like it and it's been good for us.

    I liked what I saw in Insperity in terms of some of the additional depth that they were able to bring like strategic counsel, around performance evaluations or culture-type things, a different sort of educational thought, and leadership things they could bring to the table, which made sense at the time that I was going down this path and why I ultimately chose them. Overall, my experience was good but it was a little bit of a mixed bag in the sense that there seemed to be some miscues in terms of internal Insperity handoff. I'm not a customer anymore.

    Another reason I went with Insperity is the salesperson that I had. Leah was excellent and she worked really hard to win my trust in my business. Then she lived up to her promise that she would stay with us even after we joined and would keep up to speed on our account and help troubleshoot if we were running into issues and those kinds of things, and she did do that. So, even though we needed to shift to a less expensive model because we shrunk rather than grew, I continued to maintain a relationship with Leah. She maintains that with me. So, for referral sources, but also in the future, if we do decide to go back with Insperity, she's doing a great job of keeping those connections.

    Insperity is our core HRIS system, and it's been very valuable. We are a PerformSmart client, and that includes the full suite of payroll, training platform, time and attendance.     We use Insperity for payroll. We had been using their 401(k), but we've recently rolled out our own 401(k). In the six to eight months, the level of attentiveness of their reps has not quite been what it had been before. I don't know if more clients are busier but it takes longer for them to respond, to answer our questions. But the service has worked well for what we needed it.

    Way back in 2017, since we have employees all over the US, we needed somebody that can help manage that. So, we hired Insperity to do our payroll processing mainly and help with some HR stuff. They help with the handbook, PTO and some benefits. We're a small organization, but we do have a few benefits that they help us with. Working with them has been great.     We've been with Insperity since 2005. The three main things we use them for are the 401(k), the insurance because we are small, and then they handle the preparation of the W-2s and handling the payroll and the taxes.     Insperity has very good operation. We're a small company of six people, and it helps us give our employees Fortune 500 company benefits. Through them, we do payroll. They do workman's comp insurance and health insurance for our employees. They do a 401(k) for us. They track the PTO. They handle any HR issues that come up - hiring, onboarding, firing, onboarding. We hired them to do our complete HR including reporting. They also gave us an employee handbook. They’ve been outstanding and I would highly recommend any small company to consider them.     We do not have the manpower and the resources to take on in-house payroll in HR.     My experience with Insperity has been fantastic. From July until November was the only time I struggled with them. I'm a low volume client, so they had a group email, and I just emailed the group and somebody would respond to me eventually. Over the summer, they abandoned that, and so now I've got a person and either that person was on pregnancy leave or whatever. For a period of time, I couldn't get a hold of her. I was needing a number. I wanted a dollar figure calculated, and I couldn't get it. I even called their support. I opened a ticket. I called my salesperson. It was very hard for me to get my one number.

    Before, it was just a group email and somebody would have gotten the number for me eventually and got back to me, and I’d have been happy. I told my sales guy they need to bring that back. Other than that, they've been great. They do everything that I need. It is the cheapest insurance I've ever seen on a per person basis. I pay the bill that is there. Their reports are good. Onboarding is easy. I refer people to them all the time. Generally I'm happy.

    My Insperity agents are outstanding. I can't say enough good things about Liz who was our salesperson and pretty much everyone that we've worked with at Insperity. As far as customer support, the availability and continuity are the most important things. It was very interactive and they made sure that we got everything in order.     I have a very positive experience with the Insperity rep. I work with mostly payroll and the HR and both have been extremely helpful, approachable, accessible and answer our questions and needs. I've also worked with the background check group and the recruitment to hire. We are a small nonprofit, but I don't have time to do the payroll and to deal with a lot of HR issues. During COVID, Insperity was invaluable because they helped us with the PPP loan and later on with the ERC that the whole process that they provided for us facilitated our application and how we manage that. I don't know how I would have done it if I had to do it by myself. So the process was easy.

    We also had a problem with an employee that was difficult and that process went well. I got a lot of guidance from our HR team how to handle that. So during the six years that I've been ED, all have been very seamless. Often, I get a call from another entity that wants to recruit us to move from Insperity to them and I get a lot of emails from them. They're very persuasive and they want us to switch over. I always tell them, they can't beat Insperity. Also, we have been receiving a $5,000 grant. They have a perfect and beautiful service, and nice people to work with. They always wanna say Insperity is very expensive and I tell them we get a grant and ask if they can offer me one. And they say no. So, nobody has been able to ever persuade us to switch.

    Insperity has been good for me and I appreciate them. Michael did a good job for me and stuck with me through the initial resistance part. Incredible numbers of people have solicited me but it was Michael that turned the tide for me. Having Insperity, I don't have to deal with a lot of the State of California. California's number 50th in ease of doing business for small business owners. It’s terrible. That's the reason people are leaving California. But Insperity insulates me from a lot of that stuff. When they come in, I just direct them to Insperity and Insperity takes care of it. They have lawyers and specialists. I also have an Insperity guy that does inspections for OSHA that we're working on right now to get rid of violations. I had a Contractors State Board reporting problem. They just took care of that. They take care of all my COIs.

    Insperity is good for people who have five employees or more. They're known to be one of the best PEO providers. Given the size of my company, I could not afford to have this caliber of specialists working on my stuff. If you have to do all this yourself, which I did for seven years, it drives you nuts because you can't be an expert on everything and you can't be fully compliant. Insperity has these guys or gals on salary and they come in, work for me for 15 minutes or three days, whatever is required. I get good results without having to pay for a guy who has 20 years experience in industrial safety. I can’t afford that.

    We have one HR representative, a payroll specialist and a field manager. There were a couple of instances when the reps should have known the answer but we got the runaround and two different answers but those have been few and far between. Also, we've had to escalate things which is not necessarily their fault. We always get a response. But the dedicated rep was the biggest part for us. If they're on vacation, their email inbox gets monitored by somebody else. Other than that, the cost is fantastic at almost half of what our old service was per head. We got much better return on that over what we get. There are a couple of things we've had to make concessions with but it's a small price to pay for cost savings. The service they provide to a small company like us where we don't have to do the heavy lifting is the biggest thing.

That's all it takes. Also, whenever I have questions or problems and I email them, they get back to me right away.     I was the one with the most payroll knowledge as far as the company goes and I didn't have any input in the beginning so at the last minute, with just about less than three weeks into the process, the company told me about Insperity. It was a lot of work I had to do but I had great process from the two people that I had to deal with. Insperity’s website was completely different from the process that we had at Paycom so it was a learning curve for us. The company was used to doing it one way and then they had to change the process, and even changed the way I did payroll. They were also handling some of the HR processes. So, I wasn't certain with everything or I had to ask a lot of questions. Linda in payroll, helped me with quite a bit. And anything that I would have questions on, I was directed to the correct person.

    The reporting process as well as the tax process was a nightmare for us though. We weren't involved in all the information going from one person to another, and everybody that was involved in it was no longer with the company. Insperity should not be the one that takes the lead as far as tax goes with a payroll company. I should not, as a company, have to create letters, send letters to each one of our tax people to let them know that we no longer had Paycom as our payroll company. Insperity should have done all of that. We didn't have any knowledge of it till we started getting these bills saying we were gonna be fined because we had not paid our taxes. Insperity was responsible for paying all the taxes, and they paid the taxes, but they couldn't give us copies to verify that it was paid. We're still getting a backlash from the taxes since we had Insperity and we're still working with that now.

    Insperity provided fantastic support. We had a team in HR. If you had to do HR stuff, you could email the team. They would also monitor the email thing for payroll. There was a team behind some of these pieces. You would always have somebody available to talk to and help you out. We had staff all over the country so there were multiple states where we had to handle all those taxes individually. That piece was awful but the team at Insperity was helpful to manage most of that.     We have payroll and HR services with them, as well as everything except for time and attendance. I like that they're real quick to reply to emails and phone calls. But my boss usually enters the payroll and he wishes that a couple of things were different like options for payroll deductions for employees. When my boss goes into each employee's profile to enter the payroll, the Insperity deduction they do on their end doesn't show up. My boss would like to see it rather than having to wait on the final reports. We brought that to their attention and they said they are gonna look into it to see if they can accommodate.

    I went to market and interviewed a lot of PEOs, and Insperity was the one. The company I worked for at the time had employees located in 26 states. We needed someone who could be an expert in all those states because the registrations, the unemployment, and the labor laws were too much to handle. Insperity had experience in the market whereas a lot of the other PEOs were relatively new. They were tech companies that had no HR compliance background. Insperity used to be called Administaff. They had been around a long time and functioning. I had been on Administaff payroll at some point for one of my companies that I worked for as an employee back in 2009. When I got laid off, Insperity was phenomenal. They made sure that I got all of the government credits. I only had to pay $5 a month for my COBRA, which would have been $500 a month while I was on unemployment. That helped me get the unemployment set up. It was done very quickly and professionally.

    Then I was at another new startup company. We had about 13 employees, but we were growing. I went to market and looked at ADP TotalSource, TriNet and Insperity because I had weeded out the other ones as being not qualified even after a few years. ADP TotalSource had the technology and the user interface for the employees that I liked. But they could never match the Insperity benefits prices. I had gone into a couple clients with TriNet and TriNet had screwed up their payroll taxes on several occasions. There was one occasion where I wasn't sure if payroll was going to go through and TriNet couldn't tell me if my employees were going to get paid. I had to call every employee and get their wire information in case their paycheck didn't come through the next day.

    I still go to market and quote them when I'm bringing in a PEO to a client. But Insperity has handholding for all terminated employees. They handle all the communication. If it's contentious, we don't have to talk to them anymore. I like that. I've never had tax problems with them. I've never had employees have issues. We hired a new employee whose wife was pregnant and had the baby two weeks after he was hired. She had to have a home nurse. Insperity took care of making sure that was covered on her benefits plan. He'd only been with the company for two weeks. I didn't have to do one thing.

    I've had good experiences with Insperity making sure that the employees are not asking me about their healthcare and benefits. As the finance person in each of these companies, I don't want to deal with employees including terminated ones. I don't want to deal with people's taxes being screwed up or Texas charging the wrong amount of unemployment. Those are all problems I've had with other PEOs. I go to markets, but I like Insperity. I use the same HR rep and the same payroll administrator at all my clients. They do the job properly. I'm getting what I pay for. I want HR compliance. I want employee happiness. I want not to deal with employee issues.

    Insperity has saved us tons of money. We started our company during the pandemic in June of 2020. We didn't join Insperity until February of 2021. In December, I received an email from Insperity saying, "The law has changed. You are now eligible for the employee retention credit. Click this link and fill out the form." I clicked the link and the form was pre-filled with all of our employees that were eligible for the credit. I just had to confirm then it did all the calculations and said, "Here's your total payroll. You're eligible for a total of $50,000. Sign here and we will file the amended 941 form for you." I clicked on it, but I hadn't finished it 'cause I wanted to review it with our CEO. They called two days later and said, "We just wanted to make sure you saw that email that you're now eligible for this government refund of your taxes that you weren't eligible for before." They also have the regulation quoted. They made it so I had to check off, "Yes. I follow all of these rules that the new law allowed for the credit."

    I filed it and they have kept us up to date as far as how long it was taking with the government. It hasn't come through yet. But that was $50,000 that I never would have gotten because I didn't know the law changed. I have been on top of the ERC, the PPP, etc, but it just became noise. But Insperity took care of it, filed the form, and had everything ready for us. That's free money right there.

But one issue we had was they switched our customer representative a lot of times and that could cause some inconvenience. Other than that, everything is good.     I've been with Insperity for nearly two years and can't wait to transition away. Not only are they one of the most expensive PEOs out there, but the level of service is awful. We lucked out and were assigned a great account manager, but her hands were essentially tied to get anything done with our "team" (who even though there were many of them were still slow to respond and often gave incorrect information - including telling me I didn't give someone a raise that I had, which resulted in my accidentally giving them another raise). Their HR consulting was counterproductive and they suggested policies around PTO payouts that were above state minimums and ended up costing us THOUSANDS of dollars. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! RUN AWAY!

    My company had used another company first and went to Insperity because they offered better benefits and services. I have somebody that is always available for me if I have a concern or question about how to handle something from an HR perspective. I have a great person that handles our payroll.     Insperity is very inclusive with everything, so they're a great company to go through. They combine smaller companies together and give the illusion that we are a larger company. That way, we can have cost reductions for employees as well as for us as a company. Their website is very easy to use and there's so much on there that I almost have to have a full-time job just to go look at everything. So, it's fun to be able to go out there, find what I need, and be able to go from there.

    My payroll specialist, Diane, does a great job. I also work with a rep named Jordan. They're both very easy to get along with and very informative. They listened and they heard at the same time. We use all kinds of HR solutions through them. If we're separating somebody, we use their separation agreement that they have from an HR standpoint. Then, people sign up for our benefit packages for the employees through them, which include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

    I love their customer service. They make things easy and they reach out to me when they remember a conversation that I've had with them and they can offer something in relation to that. Because one of the things that Insperity has is a lot of training material and there are over 3,000 different selections you can go through. So, if you don't know what you're looking for, you can just go browse through their website and you would definitely find things. But it's nice to mention things, and they'd call me and tell me about exactly what I want even though I didn't know I wanted it until they told me.

    I also love the security levels that Insperity has. If somebody wanted to schedule a PTO day, I can do that. But if it's somebody who wants to make a major change to their address or anything on the personal level, including banking account and banking information, they have to do that on their own. But then, Insperity does a really good job of walking through people and our employees are very happy because it's very easy to reach out to them.

    Insperity's reps are very helpful, too. They have different areas and the nice thing is, I have yet to meet anybody who, if it's not in their particular area, will say that it's not theirs and just leave it at that. They always say they will help me, then they can direct me to where I need to go and they hold my hand until I'm passed off to the next person. I tell my friends how wonderful they are and some people have said that they don't have that with the company they use. So, it's been fun to be able to talk to other people about it.

    I love Insperity. They have been a rock star group helping me not to have to focus with all the back office stuff and focus on growing the company. I like the one-stop full Insperity portal for our employees and for me. It works well to tie it all together and it's a big reason why I won't jump into other benefit groups that are always reaching out because I don't wanna break off one little piece that still has our payroll and all the other things running through it.

    If you're earlier-stage company and thinking about running with a lot of these services outsourced in a one-stop shop for a while, I would definitely consider Insperity.     I was impressed by what the local reps had to say. They showed us some good options and Insperity was more affordable than I thought it would be. When we have a personnel issue our HR consultants are extremely helpful and very supportive. They walk us through saying, "Here's how you handle this. Here's the best way to take care of all the paperwork". They made the process of handling employee discipline or terminations a lot easier. In terms of payroll support, they're always quick to respond. They let us know if we have an issue that we need to address. Everyone is always very friendly and helpful. They're three steps ahead of me. They know what I'm gonna ask and they know what we need. Our employees have a full team of resources to answer all their questions about benefits and payroll. So, I don't have to answer the questions because I don't know the answers.

    But there isn't a wide enough variety of plans to choose from as far as medical insurance options. There could be more basic plans that are less expensive or more deluxe ones. If I want to be competitive in the marketplace, there are companies out there that have a really deluxe medical plan. They have a lot of good plans in the middle. Also, the online portal is hard to navigate and it's hard to find things sometimes.

    Insperity’s platform is easy and friendly compared to the one that we had, which gave employees the ability to do their own portals to be able to track PTO time, put in their time vacation, and also see their insurance submitted in. We’ve had different individuals who we work with in Insperity based on what our needs are. They are attentive to our multiple locations and the work that we do, getting the answers to questions that are needed from them. Besides their HR service, we handle any mediation, managing emails, and handbooks through their service.

    As a payroll company, Insperity gave us what was needed from them. We have a platform where they've added their time and attendance, which makes it even more streamlined for employees to track their PTO time. They also input that information in for employees and supervisors to be able to track that. So employees have the ability to pull up their own timesheets when they need those. When it comes down to the itemization of funds that are spent, it gets a little bit muffled when organizations are really trying to see the costs that are being put towards a payroll company. So that's a little bit hard for Insperity because everything is lumped into one for all their providers. It makes that a little bit difficult when organizations want to really get a clear cost analysis of where each of their dollar buckets is being spent.

    We have to do payroll and health insurance primarily with Insperity. There are other stuff that are incidental. You get some other benefits with it. I'm assigned to the Dallas team. The shortcoming is there's only one person on the so-called team. Communicating would be nice. Responding when I need help is slow. I have to ratchet up aggressiveness, which I don't wanna do. That's the problem with only having one person on the team. Someone's gonna take a day off or not be available. That's normal. I don't expect them to wait on me. But there's not a suitable second person and that's one problem I've experienced. It's probably because we don't have a sales rep, whereas, we normally do. It's probably because we're not big enough, so they don't wanna assign anyone to us.

    Also, their website's not the easiest to use. If you have a new employee or things like that, something that's different. It's easy to approve the payroll and stuff, they do a good job with that. Some of that is my shortcomings. That aside, I have dealt with two people so far and they have been excellent. The services are pretty good. I like the people on Team 7. They're really good and should be complimented.

    We used the payroll and the insurance part of Insperity. And we're trying to get the ERC, but it's extremely slow and frustrating. We did it for three quarters and we still haven't gotten the money yet from 2021. Other than that, the people were very nice. The system was kind of form-centric, so everything you did needed a form, which was a lot and hard to find online. But the people were helpful in order to find what I needed and do whatever I needed to do. The lack of transparency didn't help though. We were not told about the service fee and they wouldn't give us backup on it. So, we went with another company that was a little bit more transparent on what the fees were.

    We send in paperwork for background checks and Insperity sends those back to us, and we use them for the employment hiring process. Insperity does our payroll and I use them for getting employees in the system so we can get them paid. Insperity puts them in their system and once they're in there, I can put them in TimeStar. They get their hands scanned into it which is a handling process that we do.

    They're our HR department and we call them when we have issues that we need assistance on. The other day, I called our workers' comp representative at Insperity and they were able to get the ball rolling for us. Most everything is done via email. The reps are pleasant though like anything else, sometimes you don't get the answer you want. It's frustrating sometimes when you're trying to get a bank account set up for direct deposit and their payroll is very particular about the paperwork that we send in for our employees to get set up for direct deposit at their bank. But for the most part, it's a good relationship.

    I've got two companies under Insperity. The first one started in 2017 and the other one started last year. It's nice to know that things are taken care of and I don't have to have a fleet of tax accountants on my payroll to get things done. Having full confidence that things are being done right is important. They make things easier. I can set up shop in any state to the union overnight. A couple of times, I ran into a little bit of rigmarole runaround. But for the most part, the experience has been quite good. The cost can always be cheaper. We went through a negotiation on our rates a couple of years back. It was long. Our insurance rates went up quite a bit for some of our folks and we had to fight about that quite a bit. It wasn't the most pleasant. If they could give us a straight-up good deal upfront, we'd be much happier. But generally, the cost is tolerable.

    Insperity was a tad better a year or two ago. It was a dip for a while there in trying to identify the help that we needed moving ahead. But that has fixed itself. The person whom we had relied on became very familiar with our company. We can talk to each other, whether it's over the phone or email. They know how to respond to us and we know how to respond to them. When that got messed up and new people were introduced, some of the familiarity was lost so we had to come up with a new way of making things work. I have a lot of confidence in Insperity to do the right thing. There are some things that are required that I have gotten used to. It's kinda dotting Is and crossing Ts, things that you normally wouldn't do if you were running the company, doing the payroll and managing the HR yourself. The quality of service is good. It cost about one employee, and and they don't cost us health insurance and a lot of other things.

    We did an analysis and figured that there were significant savings if we went with them for our health insurance. Also, we used to have ADP, but we did not have any time and attendance. So, we decided to go with Insperity to have that which has been critical for our operations. Plus, being with them allowed us to hire staff in different states, which is also a big benefit. We fell in love with the platform and the fact that everything is a single sign-on.

    Also, I have an extraordinary payroll specialist. She's super responsive for anything related to payroll and so I love working with her. I can call and email her. Sometimes customer support takes a minute. There was a time when I was calling either for customer service in regards to benefits or also for questions about time and attendance. There were too many callers on the line so the wait was a long time. They have options but it may take a minute to respond. The email option takes 24 hours. The chat option also works but if there is a line, that takes time too.

    When renewal time comes, you have to keep pushing a little bit to make sure that you don't exceed what they offer when you first sign in because you're paying for employment rate to maintain the rate law. Other than that, I'm happy in general.

    When you join with Insperity, it's like they own you and the owners weren't looking to be owned by anybody. The salesmen were good in the beginning, although one of the gentlemen, Eric, had fabricated about two different instances, which I found really important to move forward with them. Matt, the other partner that was with him, was thankfully honest and forthright. When I called Eric out, one was to do with actual payroll reports, and he really didn't have a good explanation. So, I've never really had a good taste in my mouth for him. He kinda reminded me of a greasy car salesman. I actually talked to the owner and thought maybe we shouldn't move forward because it was not a good look to start out with a business and partnership when you have somebody fabricate things. He couldn't deny him because I had him on paper. I tried to just overlook that and move forward.

    Our onboarding person was beyond phenomenal. I loved her. Her name is Trisha. She was a saving grace and all-around encompassing. She was really the key factor to making me like Insperity. I have never had to deal with Eric again after that, which I was grateful for. We deal with Matt every now and again. I love him. He's professional and doesn't make up situations just to make you happy. No matter what we turn to him for, he gets an answer.

    We've moved on because Trisha is an onboarding gal. Sadly, I had to move on to someone else. Her name is Carla. I wicked liked her, but then she moved on. Now, I have Cheri. I absolutely love her. The onboarding was rough because of Eric not telling the truth, but since then, it's been nice. Response is very quick and if a person is on vacation, they tell you ahead of time and then tell me who's gonna be helping. Cheri is very efficient and extremely knowledgeable. I'm really content.

    The service with Insperity is great. We can't get health insurance for the same competitive rates that they have. We're a small business so it's good not to deal with a lot of the things. My one issue with Insperity is that when there's interference in business decision there’s a problem. They give lip service. The issue has to do with us having to let somebody go. It happened two different times. We had somebody we let go years ago, and he threatened a suit. It was not a legitimate threat in our opinion, and we weren't gonna do anything about it. But Insperity said that we had to settle it. They didn't wanna be exposed because of the co-employment. That cost us five grand. We didn't want to set precedent for the employees that they could just scream lawsuit and get money.

    The second time was about a year ago. We had somebody that was on disability. We had to lay her off. I called Insperity and said, "I have somebody who's on long-term disability, and I have to lay them off. Is there anything you need or want or advise?" They said they had to put it through their legal department and that I had to write up everything that occurred. I didn't do it that time. I just yelled at them. Ultimately, I did what I wanted to do. I figured I would apologize later. We got our release. We gave her severance and everything went okay.

    We did a reassessment at the beginning of the renewal for this year and looked at other companies to see if we could get a better rate or a better package deal. We decided to stay with Insperity because they have better insurance rates for our employees as well as better rates for us as far as the fees for their services, as well as the customer service aspect of Insperity. They also answer very properly and completely. They have all the resources we need anytime we need to reach out for any questions or HR concerns and they have a full staff that helps us promptly. The website is also easy to use. It flows intuitively. It's not hard to find what you're looking for in it.

    By far, Insperity offered the best pricing for service. They were all-inclusive and really met our needs in a lot of areas as far as transparency and the quality of service they provide. We use the E-learning System access all of the time. We use the payroll. We use all of the benefits and then the benefit information, the well-being piece of it, and then the EAP.     We had to contact Insperity when somebody couldn't change a password and they've been very helpful. I also had to contact them for other things and there had been times where it has taken them a while to get back to me, so we had to do something. Recently, we hired two people from a temp agency and one guy needed a PIN number for our time clock. We have a fingerprint time clock and when I put them in payroll, Insperity said we couldn't put them in payroll and that we'd have to put them in timeshare. But nobody could really tell me how to do that and I had to go in and figure it out myself. We at least learned something but that was a big waste of time.

    Everyone we've dealt at Insperity has been excellent and we've never had any issue. If something did come up, someone was always able to solve it for us.     We were looking to move to a fully remote online environment. The people at Insperity that worked our transition were at times a little hasty. But, you need to be that way when doing something of that major. But when we transitioned into our HR people and payroll people, they were a lot more patient. It was overall a really comfortable experience. As the ball started rolling, everyone knew exactly what was going on and what we needed to do. Everything was as accurately described and the function worked just as they described it. We've gotten the things that we wanted out of it.

    Because of the perks that it allows like dependent care, it allows us to be remote and continuously function. Whereas before, we were more New York-based and then we were trying to expand. Now we can just exist. It's made existing easier. Generally, it'll be an email that will lead to a call if we have questions or concerns. If it's an emergency, like when I was working with Sonia and we were dealing with like a COBRA issue. I was completely lost in that endeavor. But Sonia really helped me to gain understanding. Now I feel I'm a COBRA expert. That was just two emails that led to a series of calls until we got to the bottom of the issue.

    Back in 2015, I worked with a small oil and gas company and we used Insperity there. I enjoyed the people, especially Sarah. She was my first contact there. In 2019, I was hired on as the controller for this company. They had already made the decision to go with Insperity, which I've been very happy with, and I have continued on.

    We've run into a few hurdles over year-end stuff where there was some excess cash pulled and double amount pulled for a bonus payroll. The communication between the credit department and the payroll specialist was not very clear. I was directed to reject the first payroll in January for our hourly guys. I did that, and the credit department called and was wanting an explanation why I did that. We had frustrating words back and forth. But it seems like we're back on the right track again. I have a new payroll specialist that started around the 28th of November named Isabel and she's been great to work with. Jill before her and a couple of others before then, I've had a great interaction in the almost four years now that I've been working again with Insperity.

    It's a user-friendly software. Once you get a rhythm going with your payroll specialist, there are usually no issues. The only thing I'm not comfortable with is we make contributions to our HSA for all of our employees and we give each employee $3,000 a year. Half of that goes through payroll deductions and the other half goes through a company that was acquired. It makes for two W-2s at the end of the year and I don't understand still why we can't do the entire 3,000 through payroll. We have 24 payrolls a year. They're claiming some tax law, but I can't find it. That's been something that I have on an annual basis brought up, trying to see if we can get it changed.

    I've had a good experience with Insperity. It's fast, smooth, user-friendly and it tells you what benefits are, and all my employees are happily paid. We're utilizing I-9 forms, payroll and benefits. We use them on our health insurance. I've used other softwares before, like UltiPro. I like Insperity a lot better. UltiPro felt more corporate and all these clocking in all the time. Whereas Insperity, it's more down to my personal needs. When I need to click on something, I can see where it is. It's the way the website is built. It's better than what I used to use in UltiPro.

    I needed HR help for my business. The service of Insperity is much better than all the others. They are complete HR support. When employees have issues, they can go to Insperity directly.     This HR/benefits software is so cumbersome to work with. It may cost less than other similar products, but navigating it is more difficult, support is really bad, they make sign all kinds of documents irrelevant to your employment and as soon as you leave an employer's, everything is immediately deleted. They don't have the courtesy to keep your records for a grace period of time. Do not purchase this software. It is not user friendly and both as a manager and individual user, I have had a hard time using it.

    Insperity is supposed to be an all-inclusive service for Payroll, HR, (and as we were sold) job posting, applicant tracking, and hiring and screening. Forget the last three - they exist behind a massive paywall; they won't mention it upfront. We were crystal clear about our needs from the first meeting: payroll, hiring, screening, all of it. We had several open positions. We were told the platform would allow for job ads to be posted to Indeed, and applicants to be received and tracked via the platform, all the way through onboarding.

    The upfront costs are prohibitive for any of those and it took (not joking) 6 weeks to pull that information out of a dozen "dedicated" support people. Because the roles are so specialized, none of the other people know what anyone else is doing or what was said previously so you're bounced around a lot. Finally, screenings are far too complicated and there isn't an option for a basic check which has cost us weeks of getting people working as we waited for the process to be run and we're selecting the most basic option possible. I've used five or six payroll companies over the years. Insperity used to have a decent setup a couple of years back when I used them in another role. It has certainly changed and not for the better.

    We have two specialists with Insperity. We have a payroll specialist and another who is a general HR specialist. The general HR specialist is very good. She's very responsive and helpful. Our payroll specialist is relatively new to her job so we've had a couple of bumps there. We had the same payroll specialist for two and a half years that I've been in the job then it changed recently. We had a couple of growing pains.

    Aside from the payroll service, we got health insurance through Insperity. We do some of our benefits. The 401(k) plan is through Insperity. They also helped broker our insurance for our directors' and officers' insurance and our workers' comp insurance. Insperity helps provide payroll and benefits services without having a large staff.

    The only thing with Insperity is we have difficulties with exceptions to the rule. When we're onboarding, we have a problem with the I-9 piece of the onboarding, especially when we're onboarding someone remotely. We get a lot of questions about that and it's not very smooth. If Insperity could simplify the onboarding experience, that would help. they could also simplify the instructions for the employer to give the new employee. They set up an account on their end and they're trying to walk through the account. I can see some things show up on my end but it's hard for me to tell them exactly what to do if they get stuck. The part where they always seem to get stuck is with the I-9.

    The other thing is we had someone take a leave of absence recently. She was only out for a week with it. It was a big headache trying to get the leave of absence worked out. Insperity knocked her off payroll for a while and getting her back on was hard. Her PTO also disappeared. To simplify that process would help. Since I've been working here, we haven't had anyone go out on maternity leave. But I'm dreading it now if that has to happen because I know that the leave process is so difficult.

    Insperity was the one that worked out the best for us. They offer stuff that we don't necessarily have at the moment, specifically HR support. We just hire a Chief Talent Officer, but they've always been great in terms of offering that as half support with our needs. Also, the pricing for the insurance has really been a benefit considering we're on the smaller front or small to mid-size. In terms of timing, it depends on who you're trying to reach in the company and the department. They've also experienced, especially with the pandemic, a lot of turnover and a lot of moving parts, but our account person has been really great in communicating, telling us to be patient while they sort things out on their end.

    I work very closely with our controller. With the payroll side, a little bit better could be done in terms of ensuring that whoever is the rep on the account communicates better with the client. We've had really great people, and then we just notice the difference when the change comes. So, they could make sure that the caliber is across the board with any changes.

    Insperity was concise. I had a couple of Zoom meetings with them during the COVID mess and they were straightforward, and I liked that. I get everything that's particular that comes down the pipe from the Feds and the State that I need to be aware of. Whether or not it applies to me is immaterial. I'm in Texas and has a business in California and Insperity gets it all. They send me anything I need to have to put on the wall and contact me routinely. I'm never in the dark. I get it via email and in hardcopy so, there's a backup in case I miss it online. I have the 401(k) through them for the office, payroll, my health insurance and any life insurance. I've got four employees and I offer them everything that's available because we all need that stuff.

    I've recommended Insperity to about three people now that have had startup businesses or businesses that have gone independent. I told them that these are the guys they want to talk to. They can do everything they want to do and stage it in as they want to. So, they can get the basics down, which is HR and payroll and benefits and later on, they can add their 401(k). Insperity will do as much or as little as I want them to do and I find that good because I'd have to hire an HR person to do all this. And they are way worth the money because an HR person cost an arm and a leg. Also, I can use their facilities. My point of contact is just north of Houston and I'm sitting just five hours above them. I can send them an email or I can call them and they'll get back to me within 24 hours.

    When I came aboard in 2006, we had an Administaff then they changed names to Insperity. It became outrageously expensive to the point that we dropped it. We found a replacement called ADP TotalSource and the first year saved us $43,000 on fees. We're very happy for seven years. But we changed back to Insperity in May 2019. The major reason was to find group health insurance because going on an open market for a company with 11 employees is possible but the price is outrageous. They are very high with Insperity also. If we go on the open market and do payroll through somebody else, all the fees we pay Insperity will be balanced with other prices. But we still use Insperity because of the convenience. Convenience is very expensive, especially right now.

    We use the system to do payroll and for insurance. The payroll specialist that we had before and then was reassigned to a different process. They're really good and they know what they're doing. Payroll is a very regulated thing so you cannot do approximately. It's either one cent or without one cent. Everything should be done right. This way, I didn't have any issues with payroll. We are utilizing very little part of Insperity and payroll is dirt cheap. We can go anywhere and find the same service for payroll for a much cheaper price. The salesperson who signed us up offered some additional stuff like tracking time but we didn't need it.

    We are an online company and we are all over the country. To have unemployment and all the things set up in all the different states where we have employees was going to be super time-consuming. Insperity was a good option. Their sales rep was awesome and he became like a buddy. Anytime we had any questions, he was right there and he would almost anticipate some of the questions that we would have. Anytime we were not moving quickly enough on something, he would reach out ahead of time. It was a really great experience working with him.

    A lot of Insperity’s services has been great. In general, I find the payroll process on their portal to be unwieldy. There are a lot of steps, and there's not a clear map. I would prefer, and I've told them this, to have a clear map of the journey. ‘Cause I only run payroll every two weeks, so every time I go in, I gotta look at my instructions. I don't have it memorized.

    We needed a higher-level HR assistance in regards to employment law in various states. So, for us, the benefit was having one entity that wasn't me as one human who doesn't have an HR background looking out for us from an HR law standpoint. Overall, we are pleased. The customer service has been great, although sometimes it takes too long for the problem to get solved.

    Insperity does a wonderful job but they provide a lot of services that we don't use. We're a very small company with five or six employees. They offer these services that companies with 50, 60 employees would use. We're paying for them even though we're not taking advantage of them. They keep charging the same rate. It's unbelievable how much I pay for their services to do my payroll.

    We used to do our payroll ourselves. The reason we switched to Insperity was for the insurance premiums. I pay for insurance for my employees and myself, and I want to have good insurance. We were able to get better coverage for far less money than what we were paying as a small group. I thought the money that we were saving on the insurance would help pay for the payroll feature. That was good in the beginning, but now it keeps going up and up every year. Plus the insurance has gone sky high. I’m very satisfied with Insperity but I don't know whether I can continue to afford it. I wish that they had an a la carte service. We don't need all that training. Let ours be a different price. They also keep promising me baseball tickets but I'm wondering where the tickets are.

    The PEO was a mess, so we went back to Insperity. They were expensive, but at least our payroll was done correctly. They always know that everything's done correctly and we don't have to worry about it. I find it extremely user-friendly and intuitive. If I don't know where something's at, it's easy to find. If I'm looking for reports, I go to Reports and I start looking for the things I need. Also, I have a couple of people, like my payroll person and HR person, that I have their direct phone numbers. If I don't talk to them that day, they call me back the next day. They respond very quickly. Insperity has freed up my time to do other stuff. Sometimes when we've had HR issues, they've been able to help us do the HR issues quickly and help us get them resolved.     Their customer service was phenomenal. Everyone I've dealt with was very friendly and professional. I've dealt with other PEOs before and I haven't had the greatest experience when it was time to get someone on the phone to speak to or to respond to my emails.     As a whole, being a small business owner, I'm relatively satisfied. I've only had a couple of times when I've tried to reach out to people. And that wasn't up to par. Obviously, sometimes there are updates to the portal and new systems come out. Insperity is usually good about reaching out and walking me through things. So, instead of me paying my previous CPA to do those things, that's relatively easy. From what I deal with, it's good. The benefits, having the 401k, having the ability to have my healthcare plans and all those things administered, all of those are easy. I'm going on my sixth year with Insperity. For my size, scale, and scope of what I do, everything has been good so far.

    We got in contact with Hal, a salesperson for Insperity. He came out and met with us. Everything sounded easier to do than what we had been doing, so we made the switch. Insperity has made some aspects of the business a lot easier. We don't have to worry about taxes or any of that stuff and I'm very happy with my new payroll person. He helps me with everything and he's very fast and easy to get along with, which is important so I can get things done real quick. But the other parts are more difficult to get ahold of or get answers from. I got a runaround for a little bit and then someone finally came up with an answer. Also, I have a little bit of trouble trying to pull up some yearly reports that I need for other companies that I have to report to on the website. But my payroll guy easily sets up a report for me, saves it, and tells me what report to go to.

    We've been with Insperity for 12 years. We took one year off to try another PEO and then I went back to Insperity. I'm very satisfied with Insperity except for the insurance is phenomenally high.     Insperity is very pricey. However, they are wonderful and it works pretty well for our needs. We use it for payroll, benefits like 401(k), medical and for a couple of reports that we need like certified payroll information in general and workers' comp. Insperity has made things easier. In terms of customer service, emails are pretty quick. Rarely do I have to follow-up emails to find out what happened. Over the phone, the hold time is unbelievable sometimes. A lot of our employees when they get locked out of their account for whatever reason or they're struggling with the application, they're normally on hold for a little bit over an hour when they call. That part could be improved.

    Insperity is generally simple and straightforward. If there's any negative, it's probably more expensive than some of the alternatives. The rates seem to go up every year. But it's fine and the system works for us. They do a good job. We use it for PEO stuff or payroll. It seems like I use a generic email when I do stuff and unless there's a specific issue, I don't talk to a live person more than a couple of times a year. Go for Insperity.

    We’ve been with Insperity for a year and we've been using it for PEO. The normal processes go very well. But I have encountered challenges when we had terminations. Also, when things are not normally processed in a week, things break down. I've been through five customer service people and three supervisors. The first rep I got was very good and she was promoted out of her position. The problem is the next three replacements were not as good and when I needed help, it took too many phone calls to get somebody who could help me. The salesperson, Maria, was fantastic. When I got frustrated with not being able to get in contact with somebody who should have been there to assist me, more times than not, I had to call Maria who shook the tree and got things going for me.

    The last issue I had took about 60 days to solve because I kept telling the person who was in charge of the division what my problems were and she said, “What do you want me to do?” I told her to make it work. The person who was dealing with my week-to-week transactions wasn't trained properly and it wasn't that person's fault that they weren't trained. It was more of the manager who put this person in a line or she wasn't set up for success. My criticism is more about the middle management and the management style approach that didn’t always fix my problem. I was told that this hardly happens, which I don't believe. It took that many days and a phone call to Maria to get the person to listen to what I was saying. Maria listened to it and she explained to the supervisor what my issues were. Insperity addressed my problems in the end but had just taken too long to do so.

    Be aware that when it comes to Insperity's insurance they openly state that "UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus coverage options available through the Insperity Group Health Plan are subject to Texas insurance law." This means that you are subject to the laws of Texas no matter where your job is actually located. A lot of states mandate that fertility treatments must be covered by employer insurance plans but Texas does not. This means that you could work in a state that mandates insurance covers fertility treatments but you will not receive those benefits because Insperity operates their health insurance via Texas law. It may not be wise to subject yourself or your employees to Texas insurance law when it comes to fertility treatments or abortion care in a post Roe v. Wade world. Nor when it comes to any sort of healthcare related to gender transition.

    Insperity had a good offer. We met two Insperity girls and they were quite good. They gave us a rundown. The percentage fee then was about to be around 1.8%, and the scope of services and the offering, for example, the health plan, which is the UHC plan that we checked out that they offered was quite good. It was even better than what we had before.

    Every time I called, our account representative was good. Every time I reached out to her, she got back to me within the hour. If she was not in the office, someone else got back to me. When I emailed her, her email was forwarded to someone, and they would call me, and the items were sorted out. Insperity gave us a good service. The rates are also not that exorbitant. It could be better, but it is acceptable for us, because of the benefits we get. Their response time is quite good for us, too.

    The most functional part of Insperity is their sales team. They are fantastic at making promises. However if you are expecting that Insperity will save you time, you will be disappointed. Five payrolls in to their setup process and they still do not have PTO tracking, like they promised they would, and the payroll process is an absolute nightmare. Before signing up with Insperity, it took me almost 2 hours to get payroll completed, mostly because I had to data enter hours worked for my employees into a website. I signed up on the promise that Insperity would make the payroll process easier....

    Insperity took over with their timeclock system (which took 6 weeks to set up, BTW?!?!) and the sales pitch was that once all of my employees are using their timeclock, that data would just go directly into their payroll system. However, now the process involves us having to fix all of the time punch errors, converting it to an XML file, downloading some reports, uploading them back, submitting it for approval and if there are any errors, starting all over again. Moreover, each small function of the process is handled by a different person, and they don't talk to each other, so if you ask one person to help you with something, they will help you with part of that thing and send you to a different person to help you with a different part of that thing and that 2nd person will send you back to the first person because they did their part wrong. You need a flow chart to keep track of all the different people and what you can ask each of them to do.

    Also, Insperity told us that they would handle all of our HR and Benefit issues, hiring, firing, that they would come out in person to meetings, exit interviews, meetings, etc. None of that is true. On at least four occasions now, after approving a given process or document, I have asked Insperity to distribute the document to our employees, only to have the Insperity employee agree to do so and then follow up by sending it only to me, later acting surprised that I did not properly distribute the materials.

    Each and every change of anything involves a form that Insperity insists needs to be filled out, and Insperity will refuse to either send the form directly to the employee or to accept the completed form from the employee. So be prepared to become an expert on an entire library of new forms, so that you can help your employees fill them out. Insperity will insist that you give them the forms, have the employee fill them out and sign them, and then scan them back it to submit them back to Insperity.

    Insperity might be for you if you can afford to hire an employee to do nothing but keep track of all the busywork that Insperity will create for you. However, my recommendation would be to use the $10k non-refundable signup fee as a hiring bonus to hire an HR assistant to do the things that Insperity says they are going to do, but are really just going to tell you how to do for yourself.

    We've never been with a PEO until we signed on with Insperity so, we ended up liking the idea. And they've been a pleasure to deal with. The team is awesome. They're the top of the line. They're not the cheapest in town but they're the best. You get what you pay for and they know how we want everything by now so it's super easy to deal with. I have a payroll specialist that I deal with weekly. Even though we process payroll every two weeks, there are always changes that need to be made. The owner gets a certain amount of tax out of his separate checks and she knows exactly what we need. They're as involved as you want them to be. They're available for all kinds of HR stuff that we don't even need, but we don't bother them and they don't bother us unless we have an issue that we wanna look at.

    Insperity takes the burden of HR responsibilities for the most part off the business. They are the employer on record, so they have that liability to a certain extent. They make sure we're up to date with employment laws and that our payroll is processed accurately and on time, payroll taxes are paid, and healthcare benefits are offered to all of our employees.     It took us a little bit to get on board with Insperity. We had a few hurdles getting everything integrated and figuring out how everything worked, but that only was a couple of months. We've been with them for more than a year now and it does everything we want it to do. It consolidates all of our benefits and all of our HR into one platform with payroll. Before, I would make a payment to the medical, dental, and 401(k) and do those individually on each payroll. Now, it's all looped in. It has made my job a lot easier and also saved us from needing to hire another employee, which justified the cost because it's a lot more expensive than the part and parcel way we were doing it before. There are a couple of small things that they can't do. Like we can't process our direct reimbursables through payroll. It is kind of irritating to have to give people checks, but it's very minor things like that compared to the overall product.

    Also, it's nice having real people there. Anytime I need something with payroll, the staff gets back to me super quick. Brenda, our sales rep, is still helpful if ever I'm totally confused as to whom I'm supposed to ask, even though she's in sales. She checks in every once in a while and invites us to different things. She's been awesome.

    We've been using Insperity since February of 2019 and we use their payroll service. We also use their background check service and their recruiting services to help us hire. They've been very good about customer service. We have a payroll representative. When we were doing background checks, we work with another person. But everyone has been very responsive in getting back to us. Insperity made it a little bit easier to track things like paid time off. People are able to look up their own things fairly easily. So that's good. They can also call themselves when they have a question.

    We have an external Aflac plan and there are pre-tax and post-tax deductions for Aflac plans. When we moved over to Insperity, they said that they could not do the pre-tax deductions for us so that caused our employees to have to pay a little bit more because those are pre-tax deductions and they're not able to take the tax advantage on those. Also, some of the reporting is a little bit different in terms of being able to pull reports once employees are terminated. Trying to gather some information for terminated employees is a little bit more difficult. But in general, the platform is much easier to use. The customer service, by far, is continuing to be a selling point with me. It has made certain aspects of my job a little bit easier. I ask the staff a question and I get immediate responses. If they don't know, they get me in contact with the right person. So, the customer service has been phenomenal by far.

    In terms of new employees or onboarding, it would be great that once we hire somebody, there was an application that they could complete that becomes part of the whole onboarding packet that isn't an additional cost. Because the only way to do an application now is to pay for that. It’s part of the whole onboarding recruiting piece and we're not using them for recruiting because we don't do massive hires. If we were doing a lot of applications or even recruiting or jobs on a regular basis, it might make more sense. But we're not so, it's hard for me to justify the cost of paying for the recruiting component of the portal when we don't use it that often. We still would like to have our employees complete an application but there's no way to get to the application part of the Insperity portal without having the recruiting part.

    Still, the customer service has been great. The team has been able to get me those applications when I've had people go that route. The interesting part is I've had the ability to send out a link for the application but there's no way for me to access it on my end. So, the Insperity team had been great about getting me access to the applications.

    The sales process with Insperity was very good. Reggie, the rep, did a great job. I was impressed with his professionalism, speed, understanding what I was looking for and not overselling. The customer support with Insperity was above average. They continue to be extremely responsive so that's a plus. The only thing that I would appreciate is if I could have more options on the benefit provider, mainly medical. They have a number of different levels on medical and that's fine. However, I'd like additional options beyond UnitedHealthcare.

    When we started with Insperity, we used them for role descriptions and policy manuals. Right now, we're in the process of trying to fill a vacancy. So, they're helping me with salary surveys and recruiting strategies. The services they provide has filled the gap. Before, we had a critical mass of people or we would have a dedicated HR professional. So, I get the benefit of all their expertise without having a full time HR manager, which is probably not a good thing, but we'll get there.

    You are told a fairytale story, shown amazing slides and presentation and when you actually sign on the dotted line, it all goes downhill from there. Nothing that was told to you, showed to you even works out or true. They don't care about your frustrations or even help you to resolve the issues. How they got rated the top 5 is beyond me. We are paying them but yet, I am pulling all the work - so where and when does the PEO comes in? They are supposed to be your external HR representative and again, I'm doing all the heavy lifting?? Honest review is you are better going with Trinet or Paychex for these services. I would never recommend Insperity and anyone who is giving them the high marks, then you must be the lucky ones getting what you need for your business from them.

    We've been with Insperity for a long time and it has been a very good experience. The payroll is very easy to deal with and it has all been very good. Anytime I've had a question I reached out, it's been answered and responded to in a very timely manner. Everybody's got questions and wants their answers immediately but it is to be expected that at the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, it takes a little bit of time. It seems a little slow about that time but it's not anything that I would say that I don't like Insperity because of that. By working with Insperity, it’s easy to process the payroll. So everybody is happy because they get paid on time.
