Thryv is a good company but it's overpriced for what you get. It's kinda hyped up a little more than what it's probably worth. I was mostly searching for the online marketing deal and they did our website which was what I really needed it to. But it's been five months and I've got two calls on it so it is not very valuable. As far as customer service though, they're great.

Hi Layne, thank you for sharing! I'm glad our customer service has been so good for you. As far as the marketing, have you talked with your rep about what may be done to increase the volume of calls? If you haven't, or if you would like to speak with somebody else, please let me know and I will arrange it. Thank you very much for your business. ^Matt S.

We just started with Thryv and the customer service has been great so far. One of their specialists that I’ve been working with, whose name is Jacqueline, has been teaching me everything, all the ins and outs, that needs to happen. We have a website, inbox, clients, sales, and content. We also have an electronic calendar where I can send texts via the computer, and that has made a big difference for us.

Hi Suzette, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It sounds like things are going well, I'm so happy to hear that. Thank you for your business, please let us know if there is ever anything else we can help with. Have a wonderful day.

We’ve reached out to the Yellow Pages, then it became DexYP, and then it became Thryv. That’s something new to our understanding and we may have not gotten any paperwork that has Thryv’s name on it yet. Also, we haven’t had the need to call customer service since we just pay the fee for our Yellow Pages ad, the hard copy in the book, and the online service. We’ve had customers call in just because they’ve seen our name online, so it’s been useful.

Hi Stephanie, thank you for your business, I'm glad our services have been useful for you. If we can help with anything, don't hesitate to let us know.
Sincerely,

We used Thryv for six months. Our experience with it went well, but our customers were not set out for that -- maybe the whole going through text might have been for younger people. It did not work for us and our clientele. They did some Facebook and Instagram posts. The best, probably, was the video, but they posted it on some other place and not on our site. It was a lot to put in and the results were not getting done, so we cancelled it. Nevertheless, they have a lot of customer service and they are very communicative as far as on their behalf.

Hi Carlos, thank you for your business, and I'm glad to hear that our customer service has been so good to you. Please let us know if we can ever help with anything else.

They provide yellow pages and it's not valuable to the millennials, but it is to the older generation. We’ve always had a good relationship with them. I just call and they usually are right there to help. And we set it up on an automatic deduction and that makes life easier for everybody. They’ve taken good care of us. When we had the big ad, they were right on it and did the changes, and everything went well. But now, we’re just doing the small one.

Hi Cheryl, thank you for your business, I am glad we are helpful for you. Please let us know if we can ever assist with anything else.

We reached out to Thryv to put our phone number out there. We get calls every now and again, but mostly my stuff is local. Every now and again, I’ll get one from off the chain. Everyone I deal with is an attorney and I don’t do any business with people off the street. We do not do closings so normally if somebody calls me for a title insurance company, they'll have to call someone else.

Hi Bonnie, I'm happy to hear that Thryv is working well for you, thank you for your business.

I reached out to Thryv for a new website. The customer service is really well and my sales spokesperson really bends over backwards. I haven’t had time to sit down and take the 25-day or 15-day challenge, but with the very little that I saw, they’ve done a very good job. The website is starting to produce some numbers. We've picked up some very good clients off of that. One of my friend owns a dojo and Thryv has been picking up his business too.

Hi Joshua, thank you for your feedback, I am thrilled to hear that Thryv is working so well for you! Thank you for your business. If there is ever anything we can do to assist further, please let us know.

I contracted with DexYP for website design, set, and Google AdWords. Dex posted a phone number I had used with Yodle years before. I didn't notice this until a month after because I have new busy law practice, and because I trusted them. They apologized and gave me a discount. Next, they posted my website with text so teeny tiny, nobody could read it. They apologized and gave me a discount. Then they garbled my website so that no client would ever hire me. They apologized and gave me a discount. This went on for at least six months. Then my account manager told me to "go ** myself." I gave notice that I had enough and was terminating my contract. They are now suing me for $93,000 +. If anyone would like to join a class action lawsuit, I am a lawyer who does just that. Baumgartner Law in Denver. Call me, and let's set these scammers right.

Hi Birk, I am so sorry to hear about this. I have escalated your message to our Executive Care Team who certainly would like to know about what you experienced. Somebody from that team should be reaching out to you within one business day to get more details and try to get this resolved. After I’ve created several tracking phones numbers which allow me to measure and quantify effectiveness of different marketing platforms, I thought it’ll be a good idea to revisit our good old friend Yellow Pages. I haven’t talked to them for ages! They seem to be nice, have a nice book that went obsolete, but they probably do make efforts to keep their legacy going online. So I thought.
Drin – Drin and a rep with a strange name “Roundtree” and last name Ish picks up the phone. Apparently he is a Senior Business Advisor. Our conversation started fairly well. I asked what it would cost for me to use their marketing services and what marketing services they have to offer. Roundtree took down my email and phone number and went on with his standardized marketing speech. He also explained to me that Yellow pages is actually called Thryv now.
The first glitch happened wen I’ve asked him if he could elaborate on marketing channels that they are using. He went about explaining how complex artificial intelligence is gathering data and finding the best channel for me, and on a screen share all I see is a bunch of google adds. WOW! Is that it? I asked if Google is the only channel that they are using. “Well No” he rebutted. Artificial intelligence will find the best channel. I couldn’t get a straight answer from him.Things took a rather ugly turn when I asked him if I could pay for one month and see if it works. He insisted that I’ve got to sign into 6 month agreement. He dropped the line.
I followed up through an email “Oh. You dropped the line. How unprofessional. You know I did think about investing into Yellow pages when time would be right, but now I will probably do a You-Tube video to talk about how Yellow Pages and Thryv is "partnering" up with google because their marketing platforms are nearly dead and they have to market with google because they are not generating any traffic or authority themselves. After you dropped the line I went to look at reviews. They are stunning: https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/yellowpages.ca." Almost instantly he replied with “LOL” and another email few minutes after “Oh” So. Question is. Would you trust a company like that?

Hi Peter,
Thank you for taking the time to detail this. I'm sorry you didn't get the answers you were looking for, would you like to speak with somebody else? We want to be sure to answer your questions completely. I'm going to send your message to our Executive Care Team, I'm sure they will want to know more about this interaction.
The link that you list for reviews is for a company that we are not associated with, that is for Yellowpages Canada. You may want to reach out to them directly to address the reviews.
Again, I'm sorry for your bad experience, I hope you'll allow us an opportunity to make it right.

A guy from Thryv called me. I was looking to get my web and internet presence better. It was out of whack and not even correct. And they did all of that, and then, they had other services too, which are good, but I never had time to fool with or even learn it. I'm semi-satisfied with Thryv. The local guy did try to help me, and we did some little tutorial things and a few things. But we were gonna do more, but I don't have time. And I’m 66 years old, so if I have trouble with my phone. I have to hand it to a grandchild for them to fix it.

Thryv's sales guy came in and talked to me for a bit. I had a program I was working for mass emails and stuff, for marketing. I had that idea for 10 years. But I have not heard of anybody that could actually fill the thing. Thryv was a little bit more than that, but that was just one of the specific things that hit me when the sales guy was talking to me. But I had to a little research on it before I started dealing with them.
The reps were pretty helpful. The biggest thing right now is I've been going back and forth with emails, but they're not being as proactive as I would like them to be. They would do the stuff that I want, but I was hoping I would get a little bit more from customer service. I talk to them about the ideas that I had, and then I sent them some things that I wanted. They did cut-paste things together, but it wasn't as great as I thought it was going to be. I don't know if Thryv is selling it that way, but I was hoping the name might bring a little few ideas to the thing too.
I put together a marketing thing, sent it to them, and then I made a couple of suggestions. And the last thing I was going to do was have them link stuff to my Facebook page, and then they wanted me to send a link to the Facebook page to them. How hard is that for them to do that too? Only reason it hasn't really gone off yet is because I haven't sent them the link. I've been so busy. And the whole idea of what Thryv can do is to alleviate me because I've got so much stuff to do. They carry the marketing out to get me a little more away from it. It hasn't really panned out yet, but there probably still needs to be a little more time. Technically, I haven't run an ad campaign. I've been doing this for six months, so I've paid $600 and I haven't gotten anything returned. I'm satisfied, but they need to be a little more proactive. They've sold me on it and they can do what they can do.

Hi Ben, thank you for sharing your experience. It sounds like there may be some additional things we can help with, please let me know if you would like somebody from our Executive Care Team reach out to you.

I was a little bit concerned about the way that the technology works nowadays and I was looking to be on the web map so we decided to go through Thryv. I have been with them probably since about six months ago and so far, it has been really helpful because of all the administrative tools that the Thryv platform gives us. It makes things simpler and easier. They also put me down on the web map. The membership is very affordable too. However, there is a little simple thing that we don’t like about the scheduling on the platform. I raised that we cannot add any kind of comments on the scheduled dates. So, we have to do it completely apart and go to the scheduling or the customer data. But that’s the only thing that I will say could be fixed.
Given the times that I have interactions with the Thryv members, it has been really cool. They were always very helpful in all the concerns that we had, specifically at the beginning. If I try to contact to do questions to the person who was the first to reach out to present to me what Thryv is, she is always very accessible and always there to help us out.

Anthony from Thryv has been really helpful and consistent in calling me. Even when I’m busy, he still makes sure that we’re on point about the website and asks if I have seen any changes relating to it. He also asks if there has been any positive feedback that I could give regarding the website. Thus far, I've seen a lot of potential business coming in. The website looks a lot better than what we used to have.
With Thryv, I get a lot of emails coming in and inquiries on what my company does. We have gotten a couple of large accounts because of the service. Our business is specialized. We do custom automated industrial doors, so it’s very hard to find clientele. When we get one, it's a big deal. It’s thus far the best investment I’ve made.

I belong to a BNI group and one of Thryv's associates was visiting. We met up and he explained to me what it was and we decided to give it a shot. Everything has been good and the website has been valuable. I’ve had calls, people saying they looked us up and found us online. Thryv has been able to straighten out some of the little things that we are having problems with, like the stuff that’s listed on the internet. When you type in our name, it was popping up the address, but when you pulled up the address, the picture was five years old from when the property had a burnt house on it, which was not very pleasing when you’re a restoration company.
Thryv is on track. It has been kinda hectic on our end, but everybody has been on point. I’d like to get more leads coming in, cold call type stuff coming in. I’m hoping to try to get away from those companies in the next six months to a year and just have stuff coming in solely on the internet and advertising, opposed to lead generation. I'm just having trouble trying to figure out how to get it done.

Hi Lonnie, I'm glad that Thryv is working out well for you, and it sounds like we have been able to help with some of the issues you are seeing online. Thank you very much for your business.

We ran a printed ad with YP since 2007, no problems. We added online ad 3 years ago. We are a commercial painting company but our link led to a gynecologist's site and stated we painted Kennels. We decided not to renew either ad after being told for 3 years this would be corrected with no results. Our ad had always ran from October to October, as does the phone book. We had paid through September when I realized we had not heard from them about renewal. I called on 09/24/2019 and spoke with Barry to request cancellation. We received a letter stating the ad would be automatically renewed each month shortly after this call. I called again on 10/08/2019 and spoke with Louise. She said she recorded the call and the ad would be cancelled. I received a call from Dex-YP on 11/4 stating if we did not pay through December, we would be turned over to a collection agency. She said our "claim" was denied and we were to pay the full amount.

Thryv reached out to us and has been very valuable. We needed website help and they solicited us as a business. When I talked to Deanna, she came in and met with me several times before I signed anything. When she came in, every time, if she didn’t have any answer for it she got the answer immediately. She picks up her phone and calls someone else for support. And even though I kept pushing her off for months she would come back every time and with a smile on her face. She's very pleasant. Deanna is a great individual all around, and she’s the salesman plus our support.
The biggest thing with Thryv is they created and support our website. We are very thrilled with them and very happy with the services that they have given us. The customer service has always been impeccable. They also have support where it’s basically communication between us and the customer. They can be the middleman and be the ones doing emails and text messages and things like that for our appointments. I would tell others to look into Thryv because it’s great especially if they wanted to start up a new website. They took care of everything for us, the name, the website. I get to keep the website in the event that I lose Thryv. They just stop supporting it. Everything that I am saying, most of it was in black and white, and most of it has been reiterated by other people that I’ve talked to.

We’ve gotten contacts and stuff through it, but not anything that has really panned out to be a huge moneymaker. In that respect, Thryv's service has been a little bit disappointing. Still, I would recommend them to other business owners. It may work for their business and the service Thryv brings are not negative at all. I just caution them that it's expensive.

Recording customer calls is not legal and if they want to try to take me to collections I’m sure I can get my customer base to testify against this company as a violation of privacy according to our lawyer. No better than HomeAdvisor!

Their customer service has been absolutely wonderful. Any time I reached out to the representative to ask a question, she has gone above and beyond what I asked from her. If she’s available or if I’m available at that time, she will immediately get another representative on the line with us to handle whatever issue or question I have. Anytime I've needed assistance, they have always been on top of it. I had an issue with being able to do mass mailing. They checked into it and it was something within the system. They refunded me a part of my monthly payment. Any other thing that I've called them about has been user error, but they’ve been able to walk me through it. I absolutely love Thryv and would recommend it to anyone.

Hi Jennifer, we love that you love Thryv! Thank you for the recommendation and for sharing your experiences. Thank you for your business, have a wonderful day.

I've had a terrible experience with Thryv's customer service team. They got really aggressive with me, and I was just trying to talk to them, and they couldn't back up a few things that I simply asked. I thought I was being very reasonable at the time. When I signed up, Thyrv's rep said that they were gonna be able to prove that certain people were looking at my website through them. He told me to stay aboard for seven months and to call if I have any questions. The first time I called, I was interested in their web design. The person who was supposed to meet with me flaked out of the meeting. I ended up spending the afternoon waiting for them, and then they sent me a text. It was reasonable as they had a family emergency. I understood that, but we never rescheduled. That fell by the wayside and I ended up doing my website design somewhere else.
When I called to find out something, their reps told me they would be able to show it to me. They told me that all I would have to do is a certain thing. When I went to that part of the site, I told the rep I didn't see anything at all. He said he would send a screenshot from his computer. I told him that he said it was very instinctual. What I needed should be where he said and they weren't able to show me that which was very suspicious. I told him that I was told to try Thryv for seven months which I did and that I wanted to do the cancellation. The rep said that I signed up for a year so I told him that Thryv would have to produce paperwork for me. They started getting very hostile. She was yelling at me on the phone. She wouldn't let me get a word.
If they could show me what I wanted and if their service is definitely a value, I would keep their service. I kept my promise of staying for seven months, and then their rep is telling me that I signed up for a year. The paperwork didn't read anything. I would not have signed up for something that's untested for an entire year. The reps were saying things like the contract said so in the fine print when I automatically signed up. I was asking for a hard copy. To me, that's a very sneaky and shady way of doing things. It showed me that I couldn't trust them saying that they sent me dozens and dozens and dozens of people who have traffic to my site.

Hi Michael, I'm very sorry to hear about your experiences, I would like to help make it right. I have sent your information to our Executive Care Team, somebody should be reaching out to you within the next 2 business days. Thank you for taking the time to detail this.

Thryv reached out to me and their reps were very informative. Originally, I had a great experience and they told me they were gonna do a lot of good things for me on social media and through the internet for the development of my company. I didn't get the results and now I've canceled service. When I went into the site after they had had three months to work with me, I had one lead in three months. And I, at that point, decided the cost was not as valuable as what I was getting out of it when there were other opportunities to use. What bothered me more than anything else was that they told me that I was stuck in a six-month contract and had to pay for two more months before I could cancel. People should be very very cautious and continue follow-up if they're gonna use Thryv.

Hi Edwin, I'm sorry to hear that your experience with Thryv didn't live up to your expectations. If there is anything we can do to help make it better, please let us know. Thank you.

Raven was my contact from Thryv and she came over here, gave me a presentation on what Thryv could do for my business, and I decided to give it a try. I had an excellent experience when we were getting everything set up, we were having weekly setups until we got everything going with the website. The main thing I use Thryv for, for the most part, is with the social media and handling the stuff that automatically goes on that. But sometimes with the online competition things, I don’t use it for the payments because of the rate that gets charged. It’s much less when I go through their demo, or they come in and use their cards here at the shop. The main thing is just the convenience of getting everything out there as quickly as possible, and the biggest thing was how fantastic they did on the website.
Working with them has an indefinite impact, because of the fact that we’re staying out in front of my marketing base, people have made comments about some of the stuff that Thryv’s putting in along with the stuff that I have pushed onto my social media platform using Thryv as the pusher when I go onto it and download the picture and push myself a size where they’ve got set up for the month. The business, it’s improved. I was doing it before but it’s made a definite difference.

Hi Ernie, thank you so much for sharing. It sounds like Thryv has really helped you focus on what you need to, and I'm happy to hear that. Thank you for your business, we wish you continued success.

Initially the lead service started out at one price but shortly thereafter increased by $80 per month. We were NEVER told our incoming calls were going to be recorded and once we made aware, being a law firm were conversation is presumed confidential, we contacted them immediately and told them to stop! It stopped for a few days, but resumed being recorded again! Three times we told them to stop so finally after a direct call to our telephone service provider they were blocked. Then a couple months go by and I am visited by another rep who tells me I was sold the wrong service! She proceeds to convince me another service would best suit my business and that will cost an additional "$100, give or take" of which I did not commit to.
The rep scheduled an appointment with my IT staff that were going to managing this service and another telephone conference but they were NOT convinced I even needed this service. A couple weeks go by where I don't hear anything from Thryv and I bank gets charged $649! I contacted them immediately and told them to cancel my entire service.
I've contacted my bank and received a refund while the matter is disputed. A person by the name of Koree has emailed me a few times and told me that I am definitely under contract. Koree is probably the from person for emailing as Matt ** is the front guy for these reviews. Anyway, I questioned how it was determined I was under contract. She stated that via a text message I confirmed the service. Now - my office landline do NOT receive texts and she does not have my personal cell phone. So, that's where the dispute stands - she is trying to identify the number that the confirmation text was sent. I told her it wasn't sent to me is all that matters. Do NOT give these people the time of day!! Hi Matt! Thanks for responding to my review a you respond to ALL the reviews! I wonder if either of these two will will be coming to Court? Beware!! I am not a robot but I think Matt ** is!

Hi Lynn, of course I am very sorry to hear about this and want to help. I assure you, I am not a robot. I am a real person that cares, located in sunny Los Angeles. I went with DexKnows back in 2011 when I had a wash window cleaning service, but I closed that business down. I'm now on my third business and I went with Thryv because first time I went with DexKnows, I got about 30 calls and I wound up getting about 19 to 20. I went with DexYP too, but I never got calls. In 2013, more people are looking at phone book. Now, it’s the internet these days. But so far, I've had one scam email from somebody overseas who was supposed to give me the keys to apartment or a house that I'm supposed to go clean. I took it upfront and I went to pay the Realtor too. And I've not receive anything yet. I was trying to see what their endgame was on this. It was too sweet of a deal.
So far, the business is slow. It's the wrong time of the year. I know this area like the back of my hand. People ain't picking up phone books or looking at phone directories. I just got a call 15 minutes ago from a person who wants me to pay $130 a month to put me on 60 directories and all over search engines, and lead finders. I don't do that. I find my own leads. I'm old-fashioned. It's time to get back to the basics, the word-of-mouth and face-to-face. All this technology screws and goes down. When the power grid goes out, everybody is gonna be confused.
I've looked at my coupons and they don't have picture. I don't know how to put them up because I'm doing everything from my mobile phone. I don't have a PC, so the deals I'm offering, I just have a tag there. I don't have a picture. So far, things have always been good. I’ve got three deals going on so I wish they could put a picture. They can dig them out from my website. It’s on Google. If they put a picture with it, it would help me a bit. But I don’t know if they could do that. I’m paying for one phonebook right now and I’m getting one county. It's a big county. It’s got two major cities and it’s got the local airport, the airport that gets to plane the President if he wanted to. I'm a bit late on the payments this month. But so far, anything I’ve asked them to do, they've done. They responded very well.
But the only thing I really got a B-minus for Thryv was the email shows an advertisement. The lady said she bought a house in Bungle, Tennessee and offered to work three days a week. I couldn't meet her. She wants me to take her keys, and pay for a Realtor. I went to the bank and checked it out. I have to be licensed in the state of Tennessee to sell property. And I told her, “I’ll go check this property out.” And I’ve not heard anything back. I’ve not seen the keys yet. So I don’t know if that was a scam.
HomeAdvisor and Charter called me and they were soliciting calls because I have a service number. I’m getting so scared, I've only been making so much a year. If I go $1,100 over, I have to report that because I don't make that much. I've done three gardens in May, I got $120 this year, so next year isn't looking too great. But I’m paying them.

In 2017 when they were still Yellow Page, we got lied to by a salesperson and wasted hours after hours to get our account cancelled. We assumed that it's just that one salesperson, and their sales event made their service slightly cheaper than some of their competitors, so we gave it a try again when they rebranded as Thryv in 2018 -- HUGE MISTAKE!
The salesperson agreed to give us a 14 days trial, and there's a product specialist walked us through the product online. But the product is horrible and broken in many ways, it's probably a mash-up of some third-party tools, with a lot of functions missing (meaning that workflows using their products can get extremely tedious and a lot of manual labor needed). So 4 days into our trial, we decided to cancel. All Thryv departments ignored our emails and calls for 6 more days, and decided to tell us our trial period had ended, and that we could not cancel, and that they proceeded to charge us the first installment of the monthly fee! That's only 4+6 = TEN days into our 14-days trial. We wasted countless hours wrestling with them and finally got our account cancelled. And then we got our refund after 2 months.

However, DexYP-Thryv continued to charge our account. We again made numerous calls to both cancel the account as requested earlier and to issue a refund for the fraudulent charge to business card. They continued to charge our card and we were forced to notify our bank of these fraudulent charges, as well as calling an account representative to make them remove all of our bank account information from their system.

They charged me cc and I never heard from them again until March 19, when after several emails I finally received a response. No one ever sent me my "welcome info" with my MYDEXYP web access or account information until March 19 at nearly a month. Yet they were still charging me. I received zero customers from them and only I believe 4 leads in the next two months.
I sent an online message to cancel and received a response on April 30, 2019, saying they were sorry they were losing me as a customer and someone would be contacting me. Well someone did contact me and refused to cancel my account. After several minutes of arguing and being placed on hold, they told me they would cancel my account. They still charged my card for May. I disputed it with my CC company. Then just this week (July 20) I receive a bill from them again for my monthly charge! Now keep in mind I did not get a bill for June. They also told me CC that I was still a customer so the charge was not removed from my CC for May (I am still disputing this, sent them more information today).
I noticed from a review here on June 19, 2019, that another individual has had the same experience as me in not being able to cancel the account after being told it was cancelled! Originally, when the phone book came out, we were in the white pages and they DexYP called us about the yellow pages. Their yellow pages work too well and we get all sorts of phone calls from people that we can't accommodate because we don't do residential work. We try to list just minimal so that our phone number's in there and it works too good. But with the kind of work we do, it isn't the kind of thing we need.
Other than that, I have no problem with their customer service. It's their competitors that I have issues with. They come in pretending to be Dex Media and I tell them they're not. Just an hour ago, someone called and asked if we still wanna advertise with them. And I told her that I haven't advertised with them before. Then she said she'd send me a confirmation that I didn't wanna do business with them, but she'd include the bill for last year's services. But I told her that I didn't order last year's services and I didn't even know what she was talking about.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! To start the signup process was easy but that was the only good part about the company. After being with them almost a year I did not receive one lead for my business. Not to mention I tried to contact them numerous times and it took a long to hear back, if I ever did at all. My “account manager” consistently changed and always had to call me back. So after being with them almost a year I ended up closing my business so I called to cancel my membership. I was told I could if the business closed. After sending in all my paperwork I was advised that I was “approved”. Three months later I start getting calls from their collections department saying I owed them money. After explaining I was already approved to have the membership cancelled, I was told they did care what I was told and that I was now denied. Terrible company, terrible customer service and was overall a huge headache and waste of money.

Yet we still patiently waited out the 2 YEAR CONTRACT we signed to end because we couldn't micromanage what they were doing. Well 2 years came around and of course we try to cancel and we get little or NO response from several people of the company we were passed around to. THEN I finally get to someone who I think will take a good look at our account and what I was saying and it was THEN they pull out a contract a sales rep signed a year ago on behalf of the company and told me they were "authorized" to sign this OTHER contract that we had NO IDEA even existed!!! Why they chose to send someone to just show up to our building and find the first person they see and say "hey you need to sign this" is BEYOND BELIEF!
What kind of a business is this? Not to mention WHY was another contract necessary when we were already under one??? I mean what in the world are these guys pulling, and of course they are hanging their hat on the contract the REAL AUTHORIZED signer (ME) knows NOTHING ABOUT! I'm HUGELY UPSET as you can tell from my review! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. It took me 6 months working direct with the account rep to sign up. I had a horrible experience with Yelp, and had had success doing both Yelp, Google, and my website on my own. The rep was diligent about contacting me when (sometimes too diligent) we were going through discussions. My 2 reasons for waiting so long was wanting to see the value in money I would be spending and ensuring contact after signing up. Well, not only is the rep mostly not available now, I see no value in my monthly premium for several reasons. 1, and most importantly, I clearly and directly told him I only wanted the city and state listed online (I stated to mirror my Yelp/Google info) as this is a home business. Not only did he list my physical address right down to Google maps showing a picture of my home, there was a dummy address also plugged in there as well.
Furthermore my telephone number had the same issue, both my number and a dummy number. So not only did I lose clients (3 verified), I have had several people knock on my door. Now, not only is this a safety issue for me, I have 2 grandchildren who were present at the times. I have reached out to my rep only to be told he will have his team escalate this for resolution. That has not happened, and as of 10 minutes ago I've made my 3rd call directly to Dex to resolve this issue. I was told the same thing as the previous 2 reps that I would see the fix and not to worry. I beg to differ.
So not only has signing up with Dex made it more challenging for customers to contact me via phone, I now have people I don't know coming to my home (or bless the folks at the 2nd listed incorrect address), we has to tell our kids that until this is resolved the grandkids shouldn't be over to our home out of safety concerns. I am baffled to say the least. If I don't see the issues corrected in 3 days (rep said it takes that long), I will be cancelling my services with Dex and looking at further legal avenues thereafter. Shame on you Dex.

I filled out the form on the Yellow Pages website and was called every day thereafter by sales reps trying to sell me YP products. I was told by one of salespeople my free listing would only show for customers searching with a GPS signal that was within a 1-mile radius of my business address. What good is that? I searched and was not listed at all as far as I could tell. I recently performed a google search and a listing link comes up but the listing itself shows "no results found" where my business info should be. Now I'm screwed. I have a YP Google search listing link that is a total dead end. Worst advertising experience of my life.

I signed up for DexYP advertising a couple of years ago for my business, ARK Reverse Mortgage. I thought it would be a good boost to my sales. I signed up for a 1 year contract but the sales results were underwhelming. I called in to cancel my contract after a year and they said that I have to cancel 1 year in advance. So, in essence, I would have had to cancel the day I signed up to be able to cancel my 1 year contract. 1 year later... I paid in full to that year contract, but now they want me to have me pay for another year and with a lot of penalties and an aggressive collection letter without any supporting documents. They are sending these collection letters to the wrong address. These contracts and sales tactics are extremely deceptive and recommend you look elsewhere for your advertising needs. I have found DexYP has a reputation for doing this and a very aggressive collection without any validation.

I am a company of 1. But I want my info on the web, accurate. I am contacted by a rep who wants to confirm my info. No problem...until, they send me an email so I can "share their screen". Being a former Fortune 200 IT Admin, there is a) no need to impress anyone by sharing, b) it is a security breach and requires sharing backend permissions - which they don't disclose anywhere that I've found, c) when I refused, the rep argued there was no sharing, but he specifically said "share my screen". d) he also argued with incorrect info on another unrelated matter, bad mouthing BBB accreditation as "legal extortion" (hence my subject word choice to reflect his comment back at DexYP). I finally terminated the call saying his business manners were disrespectful and he should never argue with customers.
There was no reason they couldn't send me to a website, or provide an email with the info for me to verify. I don't know if all reps do this to be fair. In this day and age it's important to be transparent in security practices before a customer is faced with system exposure. I requested my info to be pulled...I'm not going to battle someone to do business how I want. I've seen other reviews on here (after my experience), who said the same thing in respect to reps arguing with experienced owner. Suggesting to be helpful and knowledgeable, is one thing, but never ever bad mouth a reputable company like BBB who seeks to educate, and portray them as "for profit" when they are non profit! Do you want to do business with a marketing company who solely uses misinformation to promote their business? UNETHICAL!

We have been with YP for 23 years. Our "customer service rep" or "salesperson" to be more precise has changed 19 out of those 23 years. That's one of their biggest mistakes as we have no relationship with anyone there and must waste hours re-hashing our experiences and concerns to a new person every year. I exchanged no fewer than 40 emails and spent 2-3 hours on the phone with last year’s new “customer retention rep”. New reps are only concerned with increasing what we spend regardless of the results we’ve experienced. We have had so many problems with YP over the years but at least we consistently were able to pull in new business every year from our phone calls.
In the past five years, starting with the year before Dex took over, we have had 1, only 1, new customer resulting from a YP call. That one new job resulted in a profit of approx. $475. That's a loss of about $9,100 in five years. When the phone rings I can pull in the business, I'm very good on the phone, but the phone never rings anymore. We have lost thousands of dollars and all a new rep can say, despite what I tell them, is that the answer is spending more money. I'm guessing if it were their money they would have a very different opinion. Dex has made some stupid moves too but I have no time to discuss them all here. I have discussed with reps and managers with zero interest in anything but new business.
In the last part of 2018 I was once again disgusted with the money we were wasting for zero return and started emailing our rep but never received a call or email…for a few months. We stopped paying our bill thinking maybe someone would pay attention and contact us... nothing. On Jan. 29 of this year I filed a case with YP (**). For two months I received no update, no calls or emails from anyone. (Actually I received three emails stating that the “status has changed on your case” but when I looked there had been zero changes. They must have been secret changes that only they knew about.) On March 3rd I filed yet another case (**). Again I received zero response from anyone…
One month later I finally found that our rep from last year was gone, no shock there, but I was shocked that nobody had been checking her emails or that our new rep. Tanya ** hadn’t contacted us especially with two cases filed. On 3/24 I paid the entire balance we owed and made plans to end our relationship with YP. I finally did reach Tanya on 4/4 she said she “wasn’t aware” of the two cases I had filed… I asked what date we were paid up to and she said the 22nd of April. I told her I either wanted to cancel our account on that date or Dex could cover a couple months in a good faith effort to retain us. She immediately filed another case, to request to close the account, and cancelled the first two cases that had been ignored… She said she would get back to me.
On 4/19 after another two weeks of not hearing from her I called again. I told her again that I wanted to cancel the account on the 22nd or have Dex pick up the cost of the next few months. Either way we would be not paying YP any more money. That afternoon she emailed me stating she was still waiting for a response from someone and would call me Monday with an answer. As of 5/10, three weeks later, I had not heard back from her and the account had not been canceled as requested. I had also emailed and called her in this time frame with no response. There was no voice message set up on her phone so it just rang about 20 times until the system finally hung up on me.
That same day I called her manager Kevin **. He sounded disinterested as I again had to explain the whole story to yet another person. His response was that Tanya would call me back… Really? He must have not paid attention to what I had been saying about the lack of response. So, as of today, two weeks later, I have still not heard from anyone. I called Tanya’s office again this morning. Twice I let it ring for 20+ times until the system, or someone tired of hearing the phone ring, hung up on me.
To top it all off their collection group called last week about our account being overdue…this was infuriating to say the least. I quickly explained that we would not be paying anything further on the account and that it should have been canceled on or before 4/22. I also suggested he contact Kevin **. Either way I as done talking. I’ve been in sales for 35 years, several as a manager. I can’t imagine that Dex can continue to survive with this lack of customer service but I no longer care. We’re done with YP.

No one reached out to us regarding our renewal (contract says they auto renew) so it continued to run incorrectly. New sales agent reached out to us and offered a very, very small discount due to error. Not even enough to make a difference. Further, she was expecting to re-sign us up on the same day claiming 'deadlines'. Further, their reviews are completely incorrect and we have had clients send us their reviews; however, over a year later, not a single one is showing up. We have asked that any fraudulent bad reviews be taken down and reported them, but they are still showing. I would STAY AWAY from this fraudulent marketing ploy and instead put your dollars towards a more local advertising avenue! Again, buyer beware....don't waste your hard earned dollars!!

I try to give praise and credit when due and normally just keep negative experiences to myself. I normally see no point in going to the internet to discuss my issues with a company. However, in this case I have had nothing but problems with this company.
The sales force is very pushy and have an agenda that is about sales more than meeting a customers needs. On multiple occasions advertisements promised by sales and what was delivered by designers were completely out of alignment thus costing me valuable time to correct issues. The billing department sends invoices to non-existent addresses, then seeks late fees (how is this possible when you have my address in your print ad and online). I have seen very little return on the investment and as a business owner this makes no sense. Continued financial investing in anything that does not return a profit will soon put one out of business. DexYP provides a needed service and it’s very valuable. The town is very small and we don’t have an online website of any kind. We've had some dentists retire, so people look for other dentists and it's either word-of-mouth advertising or Yellow Pages. People still here use the phone. We got the Yellow Pages ad and the service has made the business grow. We had a good time with DexYP.

This is wonderful to hear, Dean. I'm glad our customer service has been excellent for you, and that we've helped send new customers your way. Thank you for your continued business!

This year---after MANY years of Yellow Page advertising and nonexistent online results (through DEXYP, that is)---we elected to CANCEL our DEXYP advertising ALTOGETHER when the rep called February 21, 2019 to go over renewal, changes, etc. Yes, the change we wanted was to CANCEL any and all DEXYP advertising as virtually no one uses telephone books anymore to look up phone numbers, and there were virtually zero results from any Internet presence they were offering. In short, it was a complete waste of $39.00 per month PLUS the $5.00 surcharge for not wanting to pay with a credit card. Though we communicated our intention to cancel with the rep on the phone (interesting to note they can lock you into a contract by phone, but they resist your being able to CANCEL by phone), we continue to be billed.
Recently we wrote a letter stating we would be stopping payment and reiterating we wished to CANCEL any and all advertising with DEXYP. A person, Laurel, called us, she said, from the home office in New York stating our "contract" ran through January of 2020. The suggestion is being made that the PRINT advertising and the MEDIA (online) advertising are separate commodities, though we never received any notice of renewal for the Media part last December or January.
Moreover, the contract states that after the initial one-year contract, the media advertising is on a month-to-month basis and can be canceled by letter (in writing), which we have done (which prompted the New York office call). We were essentially told we were stuck until 2020. At this juncture, it appears they got us. If we fail to pay, they will assess late fees, potentially turn us into credit bureaus...basically cost us more money and grief than just paying the bill. Under no circumstances do we feel we should owe more than ONE MONTH beyond the dated 30-day notice pursuant to our letter to quit all aspects of doing business.
You should notice a LONG and GROWING list of one-star, negative, disgruntled DEXYP clients who have posted here with the same, pat responses of "thank you...we'll turn this over to the executive whatever." Our feeling is this is rapidly becoming an FTC matter, and we hope others join in this fight to STOP this bad method of doing business. There are nearly unlimited ways of advertising online. One should weigh heavily the options, the costs, and the value and pay strong attention to companies that do not deal fairly, honestly, and with integrity with their customers pursuant to customer reviews. Either that or be prepared, they won't let you out without a fight and additional expense.

Hi Sandra, I'm so sorry to hear about your billing issues. I have escalated this to our Executive Care team, they will be in touch with you soon to discuss this with you and get it resolved.
Thank you,

I'm into this program now for $2400 and have gotten no results. Needless to say that I am not happy. DexYP is one of these things that I do and I just let it roll. I’m so busy doing so many other things so I can’t track back how much we’re getting from that. I have questioned whether or not to stay in the phone book. The online presence is great but other than that, much of our work comes from word of mouth and we receive constant emails and notices about construction projects. So, we do not rely much at all on the YP advertising, other than if a homeowner is looking for some materials and that kind of thing. Our focus is mostly commercial and a lot of that is fed to us through the general contractors. On one of my shelves, I’ve got six different paper phone books and I can’t tell the last time I picked one up. I asked people if they use a phone book and they said no. Nobody uses them anymore. If nobody is looking at it, the question is if I wanna be in there.
The customer service staff are always friendly and very professional. If I have issues, they take care of it. It works and everybody is happy. If it’s not broken, I’m not worried about it. There are other things that are breaking that I gotta pay attention to. It’s like insurance. You wanna be taken care of well while you’ve got it and then when something happens, you wanna be able to look back and say that you’ve got it, which is the same thing with DexYP. When somebody calls and says that they saw us online, that’s great. It’s not very often at all that I can go back and ask how they found us. It’s usually that they found us on our website, which we’re in the process of revamping. Very rarely do I hear that they found us in the phonebook. Nevertheless, DexYP has always been great.

Thank you for your business, Chris, we really do appreciate it.

I have tried to talk to various representatives of both Dex and YP about this issue and all of them have said they will call me back with a solution but none of them have. The following is an attempt to relay the events in chronological order: We have been long-time customers of Dex in both print and digital. In March 2017 I received a sales call from a very helpful sales rep with YP detailing an association that YP had with a garage door company we use, intended to use Co-op monies to build a Web presence for us. April 3, 2017, we signed a “YP Digital-Universal – SE” contract with YP, to build a website (http://www.metalroofingandgaragedoors.com/) and to have our web presence managed. Since that time we have faithfully paid our bill on that contract and have paid a total of over $10,800.00 until cancellation.
February 16, 2018, we received notice via email that Dex had bought YP and we continued with both the Dex and YP sides of our plan. Beginning May 2, 2018 I began to get emails and calls from Dex-YP representatives saying they were now my rep. I was alarmed and called my helpful rep because she had helped me so much and I did not want to change reps. She was surprised and said there was a mix-up with the changes and not to worry about it. We ended up continuing our program under her guidance until…
July 5, 2018 I got a call from a customer who said that he couldn’t get on our website (http://www.metalroofingandgaragedoors.com/). When I went to the site, it was (and still is) giving a 404 error. I called my helpful rep and she was unable to give a satisfactory explanation as to what was wrong. She looked into it and my understanding is that the website was taken down because there was a “contract breach” between the garage door company and DexYP. We never had a contract with the garage door company. Our contract was with DexYP and it was paid up in good standing so any disagreement they had with the garage door company should not have affected my website. The website hasn’t worked since.
We paid for 6 months of website that we never got ($500 per month is $3000). I finally got tired of it in December 2018 when I couldn’t get any answers and canceled everything (Dex and YP) in January, 2019. DexYP has persisted in sending us overdue notices for print publications that were canceled and as yet I have not received an effective call or email from the company to resolve the issues.

Hi Richard, thank you for taking the time to detail this, and I'm very sorry for your experience. I have forwarded your contact information to our Executive Care Team, I'm sure they would like to discuss this with you. They will be in touch within one business day. In 2018 I attended a small business expo where DexYP also attended. Received a follow up call sales call and I agreed to meet with the representative. We had a ½ hour meeting where she told me about the company's Yellow Pages marketing program. I am an ecommerce business with no brick and mortar location. I sell nationally, not just locally. My business has no employees and no building or warehouse. I finished the meeting telling her I saw no benefit to me to be put in any local Yellow Pages listing.
After telling her I did not want their service I received two proofs to review for publication in their Yellow Page for this locality. The listing had my home address and home phone number as the business. On Friday July 6, 2018 at 7:15 PM I sent an email again confirming the ad was unsolicited and not authorized. I did not sign any contract for any service and have never paid for any service although they keep billing me with no explanation as to why I continue to be billed.
I recently received a threatening letter stating “…your DexYP account is seriously delinquent. The status of your account has been updated in our system to prevent any marketing you have ordered (never ordered anything) or may order from DexYP, including any marketing that has not yet published…. May exercise our option to notify an external credit reporting bureau of the past due balance owed on this account….”
After receiving this letter stating “…marketing that has not yet published will be cancelled…” I received 2 more demand for payment. If they cancelled “marketing that has not yet published” why are they continuing to bill me for something they admit they are not doing? I called Dun & Bradstreet to report this company and put “In Dispute” any negative statements they may have about my company. I will be sending them the emails I sent DexYP confirming I did not want their service and other supporting documents they may need. Threatening “external credit reporting bureau” may impact them more than it will my company.

In a month, 3 calls, one was a mother on speaker phone and with her kids in the background. The second kept going in and out, an older gentleman who want a price and got it and the third, a telemarketer who we could not understand. Also, they tried to double our price from last year. Buyer beware! Dex Media/Thryv sold our small business a package that was far too robust for our needs. We diligently paid $299 a month for a year as part of our contract commitment, for basic services that we could have received for far less (I am paying $35 a month with our new website maintenance company for identical service). Our contract finally expired in September 2018.
We asked our rep numerous times to downgrade our service and the requests were ignored for 6 months. We finally canceled (in writing) in February 2019. We would likely still be a customer if they had downgraded our service as we requested in September. We are being billed $233 and are receiving threatening collection calls twice a day and a bill daily in the mail over $233 that we do not owe. This is not a lot of money but we stand behind the principals of the issue and their lack of concern about meeting the customer needs. There are many web design/maintenance companies out there, I suggest you chose someone other than Dex.

In late fall of 2018, DexYP reached out to confirm renewal of my contract - an account that I had held in various forms for the previous 9 years. I stated that I could not confirm the benefits of the account, as most data pointed to its utility as a phone number reference for existing patients, rather than advertising for new patients. With an existing website performing that function and more, Dex seemed superfluous. I had received multiple calls re the account and finally spoke with an employee (I am uncertain of the date, but certain of the conversation), and I advised him that I did not want to renew. My last bill was paid in January and I figured that was it. Since January, however, I have received further bills, with late charges added on, the latest on April 6th saying debt could be reported to a credit bureau.
I spoke with two employees today Shari and Jackie, asking questions to confirm that they had reached out to renew in October and November, going so far as to listen to this people leave messages on my machine but declaring they had no record nor recording of me cancelling service. The first point to note, Jackie states they record all calls. So I very clearly told her that I would look on my records for when I called them last year. Once I find it I will be contacting whatever complaint clearinghouse I can find so that others will see, as I’ve come to see reviewing the low ratings here, that Dex wants to behave like the Hotel California. This is unacceptable business practice. I have paid the unwanted portion of my bill as of today, but I will be happy to review this occurrence with some frequency moving forward. My money should be returned, and this relic of the phone book age should not be partnered with.

We have been trying to cancel our "contract" for months. This started back in December when the rep tried to contact us about future advertising. We stated we WILL NOT be doing any DEXYP advertising going forward. He insisted that he had to meet with us in person, that a cancellation cannot be made over the phone. We said BS. We received multiple, harassing phone calls and every time the person would state that only the authorized representative of our business could cancel the account. When we would attempt to put the business owner on the phone, DEX would hang up on us.
The business owner has made multiple calls to DEX to cancel the account, and they have responded by placing the call on hold for as long as half an hour in an obvious attempt to just get us to hang up. They counter every claim we make by stating "we record all the phone calls" but are never able to play back any of these recordings to validate their claims.
The business owner requested proof of his signature on an advertising contract, and was told that it was done verbally, and was recorded. He requested that audio be played, and DEX claimed they couldn't locate the recording. When the business owner requested the account be closed, he was informed the contract ran through March 31, 2018, and must be paid through that end date, but no contract renewal would be placed for 2019.
Well guess what. We received an email in April stating that the account would be cancelled in 2020, and that we would have to pay over $2,000 to cancel prior to that date. DEX is blatantly scamming businesses like ours. We will be moving forward with presenting this information, as well as recordings we started taking during phone calls with DEX representatives, to the Oregon State Attorney Generals Office. DO NOT EVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH DEX, THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS.

I have been trying to resolve an issue since receiving a letter from DEXYP dated 10/7/18 which stated that I owed $43.45. This was the FIRST correspondence that I had received from DEXYP in 2018 (I had prepaid my bill in 2017 for the upcoming year). I called CS and spoke with a representative explaining my situation that our small business had NOT renewed for 2018-19 because we were NEVER contacted for our annual in-person meeting with our rep NOR had we spoken with our rep on the phone to confirm renewal (he was a nice guy), make any changes, etc. The CS rep was understanding and at that time I thought the issue was resolved. Not the case.
Another letter was received 12/6/18 stating a bill of now $70.84. Once again I called and after this time also started corresponding with the CS rep (Courtney) by email. When I said I Never received a renewal letter, she emailed me a "copy" of a "Dear Client" 'Thryv' letter dated 6/20/18. I even emailed her proof from Spectrum stating that we had cancelled our phone service (which was the DEXYP advertised number) because most calls we were receiving were scams or robo-calls. Cancellation proof was dated 6/9/18. The copy of the letter "dated" 6/20/18 is talking about renewal and "Thryv". I responded back to her that I kept meticulous paper records and had NEVER received the letter dated 6/20/18 and in addition had NEVER even seen the word "Thryv" on ANY correspondence. I think something as different as 'Thryv' opposed to DEXYP would be remembered.
I asked since I had cancelled my DEXYP related phone number with Spectrum on 6/9/18, wouldn't it make sense for me to have let them know as soon as I supposedly received the "letter" (remember I only received a "copy" dated 6/20/18 that she emailed to me on 12/20/18) that I would have contacted them saying I no longer even "owned" that phone number? I asked, on a lengthy reply that I emailed to her later in the day on 12/20/18, that she pass my email with documented attachment to her supervisor for further review. I heard NOTHING further from DEXYP until my latest letter dated March 5, 2019 stating FINAL NOTICE and an amount for $113.36!
I NEED RESOLUTION, which does NOT include paying this ridiculous amount. Customer Service seems to be failing on their job. At one time our small business also had an account with DEX at a higher than local level, and we FINALLY got all of that account deleted after continued horrible customer service on that level that included a good many outright lies from various "account managers".

My experience with DexYP starts with representatives that wait until the last minute to call to update my business advertising. I've had a different advertising representative the last 3 years at least. Each one has done this. It appears to be a high pressure tactic. They each have told me I have to make a decision within a few days. I'm running a business and can't just drop everything to work on advertising with such short notice. The second and more problematic issue is that my current representative posted my personal cell phone number instead of my office number on my online advertising.
I am a criminal defense attorney. I began to have clients calling my cell phone all times of the day and night. I contacted one of the sites who directed me elsewhere. I thought it was going to be fixed. It wasn't. I finally contacted my representative. She supposedly tracked down the problem and fixed it. I subsequently googled the name of my firm again and found it was corrected on some sites but not others. Here it is weeks later and I am still getting calls on my personal cell phone. In fact at 9:00 p.m. tonight I got a call. This is horrible customer service and completely unacceptable. I am still waiting for this problem to be resolved.

Last year I signed up to advertise with DexYP. We opened our HVAC business in 2017. I did not want a tracking number, as I was unsure if I would run the ad again the next year. My sales rep. was very helpful and very nice. I signed the proof, and awaited the phonebook. Both ads had a tracking number, after I specifically requested to not have one. The sales rep. was just as shocked as I was. They gave me a $200 credit and said I could purchase the phone number. I shouldn't have to purchase a phone number THAT I SPECIFICALLY REFUSED in the first place. I also feel like I shouldn't have to pay for 2 ads that are incorrect. I now have a new sales rep. I told him I would never place an ad again, and also agreed I shouldn't have to pay for an incorrect ad. Haven't heard from him since. This has not been resolved, and I am not satisfied. I argue almost every day with the collection agency that keeps calling, because I refuse to pay for it.

I signed up for several DexYP products in August of 2017. Their products are totally ineffective, in fact I received ZERO business through YP. I made sure to cancel the service before the year term was up, and spent several hours on the phone trying to do so. I never received an email or letter in the mail confirming that the contract was not renewed.
Lo and behold, a month later once again they billed my credit card for $69. I called the credit card company and blocked DexYP, thinking that would stop them. Next thing you know, they changed their name on the billing to circumvent that obstacle and another month was billed. Also, they made it so my rep now wasn't my rep anymore and the other rep I know.
I then cancelled my credit card on the advice of my lawyer, but the bills now just show up in the mail and I get threatening phone calls. I will not be paying them, because I cancelled the contract in plenty of time, plus I'm not even in business anymore. I need this to stop. I initially thought maybe the billing was an oversight, until they purposely changed their billing info to keep drawing the autopay from my credit card. This I consider to be fraud. I tell everyone I know to AVOID DexYP LIKE THE PLAGUE. This is no way to do business. Terrible.

We have been a customer for over 20 years, but will not sign up again. Customer service rep Mishka is the rudest, pushiest, person and is misleading. I have repeatedly asked to speak with a supervisor and she always refuses to put me through to anyone else. She is unwilling to do what needs to be done and compromise to retain a client, but wants to increase my pricing to double what I pay now just to keep my current advertising. Since Dex bought YP yellow pages, they have definitely gone nowhere but downhill.
I requested to cancel (not renew) for this year, asked for an email to confirm my request, and to speak to supervisor. As of today I have received no confirmation and from the other low star ratings I am reading, I don't think I ever will. I will however play heck getting confirmation of my nonrenewal. Also, no one uses the yellow pages anymore anyway, and very few even use it online. The value of what we get versus the value of what you want to start charging is just not worth it. I will again tomorrow, Monday, begin my plight to speak with a supervisor and get the confirmation of my request to NOT renew. I will keep all records for any issues that may arise if this request is not honored.

Where to begin? How can I explain my stupidity? Our business has had "Yellow Pages" printed ads faithfully since 1986. The Yellow pages has been through a number of providers, DexYP being the most recent and we've maintained it through all of them for print books only. Then, about a year ago (Jan. 2018) when we started getting calls from someone who said that she was from "Thryv", purporting to streamline and consolidating the online listings. I said that we'd think about it.
She called at least weekly for over two months, taking up lots of my time and my boss's time until I finally broke down and agreed to sign for a year at $59.00/mo. for a year (billed through credit card - aside from the monthly mailed bill from DexYP for the print pages) for the online "Thryv". She said that she's take care of the multi-directory listings (images, words and other info) and update everything if needed. Sounded good to busy me. I trusted her after all of those hours of phone talk and the occasional email.
A few weeks later when I checked to see where it had gone I found that the placed listings were incorrect and the photos that had been placed were badly inappropriate, to say the least. I called to adjust it and I sent corrected info and photos and was told it would take 24 -72 hours to fix. Okay... so I checked back on them in a few weeks (my mistake to wait, but I'm busy and I trusted her) and nothing was corrected. Called again and was assured that it would be fixed... Repeat the last episode many times for a few more months (I'm busy I trusted)... Only to to get the message that she is no longer with the company - but then who else to call? I nearly gave up many times.
I found that the Thryv system they had set up made them the exclusive listing managers for over 60 directories and I was unable to override them. I was locked out from my own business listings and couldn't fix them... couldn't touch them! Long and short - after many calls and shuttles from one person to another I found that I could at least fix Google and a few others, but most were horribly damaged and untouchable. I was told that it was all in the 'Yext' system. I said, "What is Yext?" Back again to many emails back and forth and some phone calls. Somehow or other that got straightened out, or so I thought. I'm busy and I trusted.
Six months later we got our "Yellow Pages" books in the mail and discovered that the address was printed incorrectly and worse, the phone number was completely wrong! We were horrified. This was in print and going to thousands of households for a year and couldn't be changed until the new ones came out next year! I called and was told that this was for tracking purposes and the call would still come to us, anyway.
They NEVER told me that they would do this, otherwise I would have refused it on the spot. I don't care about tracking. I want the correct phone number printed as it has been for 32 years. They said that it was too late to change it for the print books (obviously) and so we're stuck with it, so I gave up again. I was told that I should have been told. I wasn't! "Oops - sorry for that." But too bad for me, it was a done deal with a contact and not only that, it was already printed and circulated.
A few months later, seeing that nothing had changed or been corrected with the online stuff, I called again. I was finally connected to a person who listened. I was able to correct most of them (9 months later). That's all of those months of incorrect listings and it has most definitely damaged our business. Then I noticed on my credit card bill that they had increased the price. I left that alone because I knew that there was only a few more months to go. Good riddance. I'm busy.
Then, just a few weeks ago I got an email from Thryv proudly showing me how they had been RECORDING phone calls to us! I most certainly was never told of this. When I questioned a Thryv rep on this, I was told that of course they record calls, doesn't everyone want and expect this? What?!! That's an invasion of privacy as far as I'm concerned. I have verbally cancelled renewing for another year. I'm glad to to have been able to read other people's warnings about future billing. I'll be watching...

I signed a one year contract in Sept. 2017 with strict instructions that there be no auto renewal. Their rep agreed and sent me an email confirming this. Fast forward to Sept 2018, I called DEXYP customer service and told them I was selling my business effective 09/30/2018 and relayed to them that the new owners were not interested in signing a new contract. I also sent them a very detailed email. Of course the new owner forwarded a bill to me in October. Called and emailed DexYP again.
Since then I have sent seven emails, called at least six times. The new owners have contacted DexYP and told them to cease on four occasions. We have sent copies of the buy sell agreement and all paperwork they said they needed. It is now approaching six months and they are still sending bills which have multiplied five fold. I have complained through the Better Business Bureau to which DexYP would not respond. Absolutely stay away from these guys!

This company had a sales rep that called and lied to me about the price of advertising with them. She told me I was signing up for an initial $85, and then $20/m for the following year. When the contract was sent over, it looked for all the world to me like it was going to be $85 every month. When I called and questioned her, she explained that is just how their forms look, but the first $20 "Term" was for 12 Months, and the $65 "Term" was Until 2020, meant it was a one-time charge.
Well, she flat out lied to me, both times this came up. I opened a dispute with DexYP, and after explaining the entire event that trapped me in this year-long contract, their response: You don't have any proof. Of course not, when she was going to lie to me, she made sure to do it in a phone call. She even made a point of responding to my emails with a phone call instead of email. This was my first foray into print advertising. So I'm out around $1000, and now it's my mission in life to make sure everyone on the planet knows about this shady company.

For years we spoke with an account manager at YP regarding renewing the contract and which directories to list in, but for several years I have felt that the cost of using the YP medium was a poor value (No One uses YP anymore) and was planning to cancel the renewal when it arrived. It never did. I have not signed a contract in years. Apparently, since Dex Media has acquired YP they have switched to auto-renewals (similar to things like Classmates.com) and like other auto renewal scams this will end up as a class action lawsuit (looking forward to my check). I'm very disappointed with the explanation provided by the representative. "Sorry the books have all been printed, you owe for the advertising". Even though it was never authorized by anyone in our office. In the past the books were printed at different times during the year requiring staggered periodic renewals.

My small business has been a customer of DexYP for more than a decade. We had been relatively satisfied with our experience with this company until recently. At the end of October, 2018, when I received our annual automatic ad renewal, I contacted my representative, Carmen. She & I spoke about how to reduce the cost of our bill and we decided to cancel our print ad that we had been running for years. I had a sore throat and could barely speak, so we set up an appointment to discuss further their online advertising program at another time. Carmen said, “I’ll go ahead and cancel the print ad, so just in case we don’t get to speak again before the December (ad cancellation) deadline, you won’t have any problems.”
Carmen sent an email with a time for us to talk the following week. Carmen never followed up, so I contacted her again on December 17, 2018. She said nothing about me missing any cancellation deadline or that our print ad was still scheduled to run again in 2019, so I thought nothing more of it. We discussed some online advertising options a bit, but I didn’t sign-up for any.
Recently, we began receiving bills for the 2019 print ad, so I called DexYP to inquire about this error. It had been confirmed to me that our ad had been cancelled and our account had been closed. They informed me that, according to their records, I had cancelled our ad AFTER the December 7 deadline. Carmen had failed to cancel our ad when I spoke to her in late October. I spoke with a Senior Associate in Client Care, Ann. Ann assured me she would check into the matter. She didn’t respond, so I had to follow up several times with her. She said she would take care of their error if I could prove that I spoke with Carmen before the December deadline because they did not have any record of me calling in before December 17.
I found the email that Carmen sent me to schedule an appointment to talk about online advertising, since we cancelled our print ad. Ann did not respond to thus. She claims that Carmen did not remember that I had cancelled in October although she does remember talking. Cancelling our print ad was literally all we talked about. So, their position seems to be that it’s my word against Carmen's. They did not cancel my ad when I asked them to, now are proceeding to bill us for an entire year for advertising that we did not want and specifically canceled! Over $500!
This is unacceptable. I will not pay for a DexYP representative's mistake! This was not our oversight. It is clearly an issue on DexYP’s end. Ann would not even fill out a customer complaint form for this case. And now Ann will not respond to my attempts to contact her. I would not recommend advertising or dealing with this company. Apparently, we are going to have to go to court to settle this matter.

Original Review: Feb. 27, 2019
I signed up in Dec. 2018. My phones are completely dead and I get no help from my rep or anyone. I finally asked for my account to be canceled due to the fact that my company is now shutting down our Residential dept. When you only get calls from salespeople that's what happens. Unfortunately I still can't even get someone to respond to my concerns about loss of work, no phone calls, the lack of adds, the amount of money spent on Google and so on. I finally spoke with a manager who I had to ask multiple times to lower his voice and not yell and get mad at me for trying to address my concerns. After this I was told I would be contacted back after he reviewed my account. I'm not sure how hard it is to review a few wasted calls over 3 months. Maybe he's having a hard time reading all the unanswered emails I sent over the past month. Either way, DO NOT TRUST YOUR BUSINESS WITH DEXYP.

Lo and behold we receive a bill for $263.30, which is for a contract "increase" which by their contact they are able to make this determination with or without notice to you as the consumer - meaning they can extend or shorten the contract as they see fit. Renewal is a totally different matter - you can cancel - seemingly only after they "extend" your contract...so that it gets into print and they bill you. Not for nothing - imagine how many businesses they are doing this to and how much money they are pocketing from unsuspecting hardworking folks - many whom are small business owners. As they say "BUYER BEWARE".

As long as we’ve had phone book advertising, we’ve been a client of whoever DexYP was. They've been doing yellow page and digital advertising for us. We communicate with customer service via email which was my choice. They are very responsive and they send me a monthly update. If there is anything else I need, I can reach out or contact them. Many of our services are referral-based, so we don’t really need advertising, but we have it there just as a formality sort of thing.
Once upon a time, we were solely yellow pages but they were very helpful in helping us consolidate our advertising. We are primarily referral-based and we are nonprofit and spending the money on the yellow pages was very costly, so DexYP worked us through a more cost-efficient product. I appreciated that. Plus, they weren’t trying to upsell us. We were very frank with our needs and that was after 20 plus years of very pricey yellow page advertising statewide and multiple ads. We started paying attention and looking into the cost and realizing that it really wasn’t cost-effective for us because we didn’t need advertising per se, but they were very helpful in identifying a product that would work for our needs.
We have a very easy relationship with DexYP. We keep it pretty much the same year to year. Every now and then, they reach out and have a question about some of our services to see if they can augment or just tweak the way the keyword searches however technically it is that works. So, I can tell that there is somebody paying attention to our account and reaching out to us and asking questions. They are working to make sure we are getting the best bang for our buck.

After years of advertising with them, and renewing annually through contracts and an Account Manager, I decided we were no longer getting value from this listing. In my 2019 Advertising review, I decided to end the contract, but found I was auto-renewed and unable to cancel my contract, because they auto-renewed my contract and would not cancel it. Over an hour of my time and three phone calls later, I nearly had to throw a fit to get any reaction at all from their Customer Service personnel. Not only are they unwilling to cancel my ad, they are running an incorrect ad for me in the publication, because NO ONE reached out to me to ask about this, or inform me the contract was up.
After my last conversation, I received 50% of my costs back. For the ad I do not want, THAT IS INCORRECT, in their publication. What's really mind-boggling is that they wanted to know if I would like someone to contact me regarding a new ad. Really? Were you listening to anything I said? I will never run an ad in this publication again. Totally unprofessional. Unfortunately, no stars isn't an option.

He asked me to refer him clients. I said I don't refer clients. He offered me a bonus, said if I send him clients he will give me a discount of service and free months. I said ok. I sent him 4 clients that all signed up to the service. I keep paying the bill like normal.
I asked him one day if I was getting credit/free months for referrals. He said, "Yes. No problem. Free months." I said, "Ok. Let me see if rep is lying," so I stopped payment of future payments because he told me couple months free. I was excited. I was paying $599 a month. Keep in mind this is a car payment. Now service is shut off for nonpayment and I refuse to pay because rep promised me free months. So now I'm locked out of service losing tons of money and I had a new website made and got a new CRM. I called customer service and they don't help. I'm having all my referrals cancel with Dex Media and they are going to our new company. You guys suck and your rep Henrey **.

I created my own website through WIX, after years of trying to keep up with SEO changes, I decided to try Dex's SEO program. I was sold a $600 per month SEO Package by a salesperson. I had my "Initial First Call/Meeting" May 24, 2018 with my "Account Manager" (Steve) and their "SEO Wizard" (Nate) that outlined and showed everything work etc., that was suppose to happen for the next 12 months. This initial call/meeting also included a "Location Keyword"/"Area of Focus". Please Keep in mind this is WEBSITE WORK - NOT ADVERTISING. June 1, 2018 I was emailed by my "Account Manager" of changes they wanted to make to my website (changing one word - the location area of focus to another) in my H1, Title, Image tag, these are minimal changes maybe took 5 minutes total. Anyways June 6, 2018 I authorized them to go ahead and do it.
Now - 1 month goes by, 2 months, 3 months, 4 months contact my sales rep about "hey not hearing/seeing much work, or anything" - told he'll look into it and to not worry this stuff takes time. More months go by, contact my sales guy "hey not hearing/seeing anything". I then explain that I logged into my website history and as of June 14, 2018 that is the last time "someone" logged into my WIX site and made any changes. How do I know that? Because you have to click SAVE - so they have a site history you can see in case you need to revert website to early edition for any such reason. So, Since that day there has been ZERO work, ZERO email, ZERO calls, Zero anything from Account Manager/SEO guy.
Sales rep then tells me to screenshot it and send to him, which I did. Then he looks into things and says my account had at some point been switched to a new sales rep - After a lengthy discussion, I realize this is not my original sales rep's fault as he did nothing but sell me a program. MY "Account Manager" and "SEO Wizard" are the ones who never did anything. I was advised to call Client Care and have my account cancelled immediately. I have tried talking to them to REFUND not all my money but everything except for the First Month as I guess you can say they did do "some work".
While trying to deal with Client Care explaining this simple story of "Hey I paid for a program - we had one phone call, one change to my website, ZERO WORK after that day, here's the proof" - they continually put me on hold and then come back with the dumbest excuses and why I am not getting any money back - This sounds simple and stupid but this is AS CLOSE TO A SCAM AS IT CAN BE. IS IT THAT HARD TO REFUND MY MONEY AND SAY HEY SORRY WE DROPPED THE BALL ON YOUR ACCOUNT, SORRY.

The Thryv that DexYP sold us does not work for our industry, and the representative that we have that's trying to help us implement it doesn't seem to understand why it doesn't work. I feel like I've wasted money, except the fact that it was bundled so I had to take it anyway. They should find a better piece of software that would work in more industries rather than more of a personal service industry. Nonetheless, we've been with DexYP for a number of years and our experience working with them has been okay.

I didn’t use DexYP that long but it was a good way to get your business presence online, especially if you don’t have a lot of savvy with the internet and web pages. I am currently haggling about charges they say are owned by our company. I've been with my company for a bit over two years and have responsibility for directory listings. I have never ordered or authorized anything with DexYP. More than a year ago, I responded to a bill with a request for verification that the service had ever been ordered. They could not provide it, so I did not authorize payment. Bills continued to come, along with calls demanding payment.
I repeatedly asked for some form of acceptable verification that would justify payment. All but two of my requests were ignored. The two people who tried to produce some proof that bills were legit contacted me to say they were sorry, but could find nothing. After nearly two years, they have moved to collection and are still unable to provide even minimal proof that anything about these bills is justified or that any order beyond 2016 exists. I started making a good-faith request but would no longer trust them for the smallest task. I regard them as incompetent and unethical.

When I signed onto the program, my original "business advisor" account rep, asked me 3 times to confirm the information I wanted on my business listing. This was on January 25, 2019. The guy ended up putting my cell phone number, which got called one time over the weekend. I called my account manager Monday morning and requested him to change the number ASAP. He then tells me it will take 24-48 hours for the business information to be updated (This makes no sense why it takes so long) but whatever. I waited, it took about 30 hours to change, to another wrong phone number, this time the number when rang - would ring to the "your call cannot be completed as dialed message." He messed up the last 4 digits, he put in 9300 when its supposed to be 3300. This upset my boss and me, so when I called in again, I asked to speak to his supervisor and requested a new account manager.
I was then told that the number was supposed to be 9300 for tracking purposes, even though it was first my phone number, then this wrong number, so I clicked to call on the phone with the manager and told him the phone number doesn't go anywhere. He said he was sorry and has submitted the number change request and should be live in 24-48 hours. This conversation happened on January 30, 2019. After numerous more phone calls to get this updated, speaking with several reps, it did not get fixed until today, February 15, 2019. To get the correct phone number listed, it took 2 freaking weeks!
When I asked what they could do to compensate me for the troubles, and the long delay in action being taken they proceeded to tell me that they comped my first month of advertising... Even though for 2 weeks, it was not possible for me to get a single call due to there incompetence. He said yeah, we didn't prorate the 2 weeks, we gave you the full month free. After the numerous hours on the phone, blatant lies, and incompetence of the managerial staff. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ADVERTISING WITH yellow pages!

A long time ago, we started with DexYP as we were trying to get a website. Then we stopped it for about a year. They either wanted to charge me $6,000 for a website or give me some little cheap website but it's nothing like modern times. It didn't work right. We've had a lot of problems with them in the past and it took forever for us to get away from them. But we needed more help. I do a lot of the stuff in the background myself by listing our name in different places because we just changed the name of our business and DexYP was offering Thryv where we could keep our business listings matching.
So, I took a chance again and this time, it's different. It's like I'm dealing with different people. Their people don't seem to be connected to the other advertising, the Yellow Book part, where we were in the Yellow Pages. There, I could never get ahold of their customer service and if I did, they would never help me or they would try to upsell me something and that was all they cared about. It was a bad situation. But now, it seems to be a lot better. I still don't trust the company that much even though we are doing business with them right now but I think they're a good company.

They auto renew contracts for 14 months which is a long time... I realized today after seeing a bill from them that surely our contract is up. Called them and they said we didn't cancel after receiving our renewal notice a few months back so we were stuck for 14 months again!! I said I had never received the notice. A rep there was able to verify that we indeed never received this renewal notice! I asked them to let me out of this contract. NOPE!! They said it was HALF my fault for not cancelling even though they never sent me a renewal notice so they would half my bill for the remaining contract time. WHAT???
How can they force me into a contract when they never sent me a notice??? We will NEVER be back to them. What a terrible solution they came up with. DO NOT advertise with them, you will NEVER get out of your contract!! They only want money and have no regard for their clients at all. So disappointed in them. That convinced me to give them an ear when I otherwise wouldn’t have. We wanted to enhance our online representation. DexYP's services have been valuable because our industry switched a lot from yellow pages, paper prints, and paper ads to online. Five years ago, I still did print ads but we no longer do that and don’t even consider it because we have enough workload with the business we generate to either former customers or online. DexYP handles all my Google adverts. It was a learning curve in the beginning because our business is kind of unusual and we are a niche product but once we settled on keywords and categories, we got it running and it works very well. Also, the people from DexYP are very nice to work with.

I was a YP customer for many years, for my business. Each year a contract is signed by both the provider and customer, outlining the products/services/fees associated with the agreement. Imagine my surprise when my monthly invoice balance was $5 higher each month. Finally I discovered that this "other charge" was for SENDING ME A PAPER INVOICE. What company makes a customer pay $5 per month to send them a bill? The fee (not described in invoice) is not on par with any cost they actually may have, related to mailing a bill. I believe it is a deceptive practice (not disclosed, not agreed to prior) as a way to force consumers to "choose" paperless. I believe this is a breach of consumer law, and I've argued with DexYP about the practice (so far to no avail - I still decent, they continue the charge. I bought a business from someone who had signed up with DexYP in the past. I wanted to cancel the contract because she was not getting her money's worth from the amount she was spending every month. She didn't even know where her ads were located. I reluctantly paid them off for the remaining part of the year 2017 to be done with them, and not see any more bills. DexYP set up this plan. As soon as January 2018 came around, DexYP started billing my retail business again... for absolutely nothing, and without me signing anything. I never approved any phone book ad, or Internet advertising. Nothing was put in front of me for approval if there is an ad out there.
The accounting "department" would call me during business hours and threaten me constantly, spending hours on the phone every month because I had to explain to the same person every time and they would put me on hold for a long time, supposedly talking to a supervisor. Over and over again. One time I had several customers to take care of at once and she said if I hang up or put her on hold she would send me to collections.
They couldn't show me what I was paying for... They had nothing for me to look at, no print ads, no online advertising. They finally did send me to a collection company who has also been reported to the government for illegal actions... Rauch-Milliken. This so-called collection agency calls frequently during my busy times also threatening me and unbelievably rude. I refuse to pay these people. I truly believe it is some sort of scam and needs to be brought forth publicly, as I am not the only one with similar issues. Honestly, I believe the two companies are one and the same. There's something not right here, and I wish I had the resources to figure it out.
Please do your research, if you look up DexYP on Yelp, you will see the same sort of reviews over and over again. I don't wish this kind of grief on anyone. This has been going on for over a year now. If I were to catch up and pay the bill, the statements would just keep coming. You may think everything is ok at first, but in the end you may regret signing a contract that won't let you out. You will not receive what they are promising. The wording is such that the contract cannot be cancelled. Please forget using this company and spend your money elsewhere... Google, Facebook, Yelp, TripAdvisor.

Just paid 1650.00 for service that I didn't receive. Was either pay Dexyp or pay an attorney. Spoke with a young lady named Crystal to start my new service. Paid with debit card. Thought was all good. Card gets compromised and on top of that 3 weeks later our site and contact info still was not showing up online. Gave a few more days because I wanted to give them a chance for our name to get out, it is advertising and it doesn't happen overnight, or at least I thought. Realized when it was time for the next payment that nothing ever got done with my account.
Called customer service while on Google and spoke to a guy named Jacob about the absence of our listing. He said he would look into this problem and lo and behold it pops up on Google while on the phone with him, after paying for the first month. I send email next couple of days to cancel. Didn't realize had to be canceled before 21 days. Like I said trying to give it time to work. Jacob and Crystal sends back email apologies for us having to cancel. Jacob communicates that account is taken care of. Next few months get bills from Dexyp showing 0 balance. 5 months later find out account has been handed over to collection company and Jacob stops answering customer service.
On top of all this, I have a contract from Crystal stating 21 days to cancel, the collection sent me a contract that says 10 days to cancel and in talking to the collection person she misspoke and mentioned that at canceling when we did at 31 days we were a day late. So is it 10 days, 21 days or 30 days to cancel. Either way if my account would have been online when I paid for it like I was told it would, I would not have canceled. Absolutely would not recommend Dexyp. I would give 0 stars but this app will not let you.

They say they don't have a record of the call, as they have with so many other reviewers. They say "a cancelation notice was filed" a couple months later, presumably by the sales rep, who wanted to keep their commission. And they say they are going to keep sending us bills. It sounds like they are doing the same thing to businesses over and over. At what point does it become clear that it's a part of their business practices, and therefore, habitual fraud? We first signed up with DexYP as we needed a text reminder app to use and something way just text messages. We have been using their services for a year and a half. It is helpful for the messages and everything we need for it. We were able to upload our full contact list into Thryv and we never had a problem with doing any of it. All of our customers were always getting texts and everything was always on time. But, whenever I put a ticket in, I would need to follow up to see where we were at because we would not get a call back sometimes.
Unfortunately, we were not able to use any of the extra services that Thryv was offering us because we were not able to remove a link that customers could go in and then change our calendar time or request different times. It kind of made it very confusing in our office so we need to cancel our Thryv and DexYP subscription. We have spoken with somebody last week about it. We had a general manager here who was spending a ton of money on advertising and Google AdWords. When we got rid of him, we had to cut back on a lot of our expenses. When I researched, I found DexYP to be very reasonable in price for what they offer, and I just wanted somebody who would take and run it, and I wouldn't have to deal with it. They would just set up my marketing, web page, AdWords, Google Words, and dialog with us. DexYP did, and it's been working tremendously. It also fits my budget. Instead of spending $3,000 a month, I told them $1,200 was all I could afford and that's what they put me into.
Greg was the rep that came to see me, and he's been consistent with follow-up. Benjamin is my monthly contact who calls me every month to go over reports and overactivity, making sure the words are working and we're getting the bang for our buck. DexYP been very consistent and I'm very happy with it. Now we are getting a ton of calls and a ton of leads on Thryv.

Other friends of mine in the trade have used DexYP before. It was the first thing I’ve seen other people use. The experience with their customer service has been on and off. Depending on who’s on the other end, sometimes, the customer service is good and sometimes, it’s not the best. But for the most part, I’m satisfied with it. We're using the Thryv for our website. We were also in the print. The service has been of great value to us. It has helped us get our name out there and helped people find us a lot easier. I’m pretty satisfied with DexYP.

DexYP has provided us with advertising on Yellow Pages for years now. We call when we want to update things and every time we've done that, the experience has been definitely positive.

DexYP is handling our digital marketing, and we also have an ad and a business-to-business in the paper edition of the yellow pages. They've always gotten back to us and the way they've been handling our campaigns has been good. Their service has been fairly valuable.

I've been with DexYP for about three years now and everything's working fine for me. I’m happy with them. I reached out to them initially for my webpage advertising and they were very good at setting up my webpage.

DexYP purposefully puts up incorrect business info in order to force the business into paying to update it. Our business listing shows a residential address AND lists the phone number of an innocent elderly lady. This lady has attempted several times to get it corrected herself and given the runaround... Just like I was. Absolute scam and I refuse to play. This is one of many reviews I'm leaving online.

Do yourself a favor and run as fast as you can away from this company. They will promise you the world and deliver you a mediocre website at best with terrible service all overpriced. To top it all off when I finally got away from them they plucked the videos I bought.

When I signed on, I was promised tons of services to promote my company. The rep and I thoroughly discussed what services I would be purchasing and what Thryv would do in each instance. At the 6 months report, they had done nothing and generated ZERO contacts. I called and I was told that I had to do it all. I asked what I was paying them for, if I wanted to do it all, I wouldn't have signed with them! There was no answer. I canceled the contract and was told that I had to pay for the whole year, whether they did anything or not. I cancelled. The contract ended in Sept, but they continued to bill me. I called in Jan and they said they said they would credit the additional months. They showed that it had been cancelled but continued to bill. So I got no service, no increase in business, and it cost me money ($ 708 contract) and time to clean up the mess. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM!

I needed the online presence and DexYP reached out to me and is one of our local phone books. There have been no problems so far.

DO NOT create an account with DEX. I would give 0 stars if allowed to. We have been customers of theirs for many years. This year we decided that we were not receiving any benefit from having an ad in the phone book anymore so when I received the letter to Change or cancel our ad I called and canceled. I called on Oct 1st, the deadline on my letter said to call before 10/9. The lady showed me a few things by showing me her computer screen, asked why I wanted to cancel and said they were very sorry to lose us as customers. She told me I would receive a bill for Oct and November yet to finish out our contracted time. No problem. I paid Oct and Nov bills. I received another bill in Dec. I called to explain that I had cancelled and that I must have received this bill in error.
They are now denying that I ever even called them. They “searched my number” and it shows that I have never called them from that number. I told them I have proof of my call on my phone bill and have screenshots from my computer when the lady was showing me her screen. They are still denying that I ever called. They offered to cut my bill in half for the year. I told them that wasn’t fair because I called and cancelled. I asked for a name or Id number for who I was talking to and they refused to give me one. They said it would show in their records. So here comes Jan with another bill and late fees added. I called again today and they are still denying I even called and again offered to cut my bill in half. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was told that none were available.
It wasn’t until I informed them I would be contacting a lawyer that they finally connected to me to a voicemail of someone and let me leave a message. I cannot believe that after years of being a faithful customer that they would treat me like this. I have paid on time every month for years and now they are treating me like crap over $534. It is not my fault that someone on their end did not complete the cancellation. I’ve offered to send them proof of the call by sending my phone records and screenshots and they say that those aren’t valid proof of my call. I cannot believe they would treat a customer who has been loyal to them for years like this. What a scam. I am very disappointed in their customer service!

I received two letters in the mail today regarding a conversation the letter claims my company had with a Jacqulyn ** which never took place. About services we never signed up for. I called the number and spoke to an Ashley who was very polite and found that the system showed that Jacqulyn had spoken to someone but there was no actual record of the call or recording. They did not have my name or that of the CEO, in fact they had no name as a point of contact for my company. The number listed as my company's number also did not match my company's actual number. So no actual record of a call between myself (President), the CEO and this Davis lady.
Services were due to begin in April of this year however, according to Ashley, even that would not have taken place because they had no signed contract on file. My situation was simple as there was nothing on file to back up the claim the letter made, but it makes me wonder how many other companies out there begin to get bills from DexYP for services they did not sign up for and are not using. I would encourage management to look into the practices of this Jaqulyn ** and see if she is signing companies up without their knowledge. In which case, this would be fraud. Happy New Year!
