I was shopping around for a truck and got a link to Currency Capital's website off of TruckPaper. I filled up the information and they called the next day. It was convenient, instead of going around different banks. I got to talk to a couple of people in the process and everybody was helpful and good, but because of the different branches, some of the people did not know what the procedure was for a different process, which led to confusion. For instance, the loan officer was a lady who was working on my loan. She was my main guide on what to expect and what to do, but she did not know about the registration and title transfer, so I had to talk with someone else. We got a bit of a misunderstanding about it, but it was resolved .

I recommend them for other people who are looking for a truck. I was satisfied with their process, which was mostly simple and fast. There were a couple of phone calls and a couple of paperwork done online. However, the finance rate was not clear until I signed and it came out to be almost 12%, a little bit higher than the 9% promised in the beginning. Plus, the first couple of withdrawals were from Currency Capital, but yesterday a different company came up. The amount was the same as what the monthly payment was, so I'm assuming it's Currency Capital, but the bank information was different and I need to clear that up.

I got the equipment I needed with the two loans I received from Currency Capital and without these loans, I wouldn’t be as diverse. I also had a great experience with their manager. He helped me all the way through the process and he was really good. I would come back if everything pans out and if my friends say they need an equipment or a business loan, I would mention how efficient and good the service was from Currency Capital.

I'd been looking for an 18-wheeler truck and see if I could get it financed. As soon as I clicked on Currency Capital, I filed the application and I was contacted within three or four hours. The rep was cool, calm and collected. He was easy to talk to and with everything going, he told me to stay with him, not give up and that it was going to work until we got the financing loan for my equipment. The process took two weeks because we ran into an issue where one equipment had hot mileage. So, I had to go back and find another piece of equipment with lower mileage.

The loan helped me manage my money a lot because I didn’t have to come out of my pocket too much. Although, I didn’t like that Currency didn’t tell me about the fees I had to pay that they took from my account. It caught me off-guard and I went spending it. I had to call and check the money down there. But Currency Capital is reasonable and they are going to help you get what you need so I highly recommend them.

I bought a piece of equipment through Aerial Titans and they said they use Currency Capital for financing. The process took about a week. It was neat that I didn't have to go through a bank and everything was done online. The rep I talked to was nice. However, I didn't like online documents and would rather have paperwork sent to me through the mail. But they finally sent me some via email and I've got it. I'd tell others to use them.

I had three trucks, I was doubling my business and I went through business loans with Currency Capital. I called them and got the cash loan even if it was unplanned and I had to file immediately. They’re professional, they treat me excellently and they listen to my point of view. If I see that I can't pay on a daily basis, I call to tell them about it and they say it’s not a problem. Then at the end of the week, I pay what I have to. For me, it's better to build up what I have at the end of the week and not pay per day, like if I have my transfer of paycheck once a week. But I'm very happy to work with them and I'm looking forward to working with them again in the future. I’ve also explained about them to some people.

Currency Capital helped me in a tremendous way and allowed me to stay on my feet. It wasn't a hard process and the gentleman I worked with was very helpful, courteous and kept me in the loop. He let me know what was going on, how quickly it can be done and what we needed to get it done. There are a lot of bad reviews on them, but each reviewer is their own and they have their own reasoning. I found that those tend to be more of zero financing or they were not able to pay their part of the agreement. I would recommend Currency Capital to any small business that’s trying to make it and has the clout to back up what they’re trying to do. I've already told a friend that if he was interested in progressing in his business and if he needed to finance a piece of equipment, Currency Capital is the place to go.

The relationship manager and I went through a couple of companies and we talked every day until we got it together. Our interaction seems more personal and it was good working with him. Also, I need to talk to him with some more. The only thing I'm curious of is not having an account number or a way of keeping account of the loan when I want to try to pay the loan off a little early or make more payments. Other than that, I was greatly satisfied with my first experience with them and I highly recommend them to friends who need a loan for their business.

The broker that Currency Capital hired gave me the wrong information. He told me that there wouldn't be a pre-paid penalty, that I could pay off the loan anytime and if I did, I only have to pay interest on the time that I used the fund. They also they told me I was getting a line of credit but it ended up not being one at all. It was a $70,000 base loan that they're going to charge me $26,000 for and they'll debit the account every day for $300 and some. So there's no prepayment penalty but I still got to pay the entire interest amount no matter if I paid off in a year or one month. I told them I only needed the money for one month but they did it anyway which was really bad!

I asked the broker several times about these things so it wasn't just a misunderstanding I was outright lied to. They sent me a 20 some page contract which they asked me to sign and send over to them. After I did that, I got a follow-up phone call telling me that if I paid the loan back on this date I would get a 2% discount. So I was outright lied to by the broker but Currency Capital told me that they have no control over what their broker said. They should be closed because so many looked into these and they're robbing people. They should be honest.

I got an equipment leasing type of loan from Currency Capital and it helped me expand my business a bit and helped me grow. My interactions with the rep were okay at some times. It was okay but it could’ve been better. The communication broke down after I was told that my loan was approved a month ago. I wasn’t able to finish getting the truck together until a couple days ago because it was an old title for the truck. It wasn’t their fault, but the communication with the bank on their behalf trying to get the title was sort of a breakdown.

It was a pleasant experience but a rough ride as well. You go out and find a vehicle that you want and then you go back and then they will do the process to see if you could get approved for the amount that the vehicles costs. They may tell you, "We can get you a little less or if you can find another truck a little less, it’ll work better." Currency Capital gave me a loan to get my business vehicle but they impacted my life in kind of a negative way right now because I’m paying for a truck that I haven’t even gotten on the road yet. So that held me for three weeks before I was able to get tagged on it and they did yesterday. I paid them one truck payment and haven’t even made a dollar with the truck yet.

However, I didn't get a title and when they finally sent it six weeks later, it was the wrong one. They screwed the title up and I had to go to the title department. They had to print another title and send it to me. I couldn't use the truck for a month. I'm paying $1,800 a month for it but can't make any money with it. The lady from their title place told me that they'll make the title so that I don't have to pay until the following month. Then Currency Capital called me today and told me that they didn't get my payment today. I told them that the lady told me I'm supposed to pay next month since I didn't get the title until three days ago. Now they're investigating and told me my truck might be taken back. The salesperson was okay. He was friendly and was really on top of things with me. However, I'm not satisfied with the loan. It doesn't help at all. I'm also not satisfied with Currency. They are not organized. When I write it up, I need to know my loan and my information. Nobody is telling me anything. I also wanted to know a pay-off amount and they said I owe $98,000 when the machine I bought is only $50,000. They didn’t give me anything. I still don't have my information until today. What they charged me for interest and all that, I don’t know either. I called them many times too and they said they were working on it and I didn’t want to argue with them. They said that’s what they saw on their computer.

And another part is I used to make the payment on Currency, but they withdraw it from another name. I cancelled the check because I didn’t know who that is so they claimed I knew of it because I was late. They changed their name without any letter or anything notifying me that they did. They claimed that they work together according to my papers I signed for Currency. And calling them doesn’t solve the problem. I go back and forth, and I have a day job to work, too.

I wanted to borrow $4,000 to buy a loader and the bank wouldn’t let me have it because the individual who had it couldn’t show proof that he bought it off of eBay in 2005. I went to Currency Capital and told their rep that I was looking for a 450V RA 450 Case Dozer. He said he'll see what he could find. He called me after a couple of days and said he found the dozer for me. But it was in Tennessee even though I told him I didn't want it to be too far because I work 40 hours a week mowing grass and I couldn't afford to travel to go look at the equipment. I asked what shape was the dozer in and he said it was in great shape so I bought it.

But when the dozer got here, it would start and run but it has no pushing power. It is junk and I'm stuck with the $12,000 loan. It's not 100% their fault though. It was my fault too because I did not go look at the dozer. Their rep sent me pictures of it but nothing to show me it was functional. If the dozer had been running, it would have been paid off the week that I got it because I had a $23,000 bit to do and I was going to turn around as soon as the job was done and pay it off. But it didn’t work that way because they screwed me over. I told them I was not paying for it so they’ve got me in court over that. It would have been no problem getting the $12,000 loan but now they’ve caused my credit to go to crap and 90% of that was their fault. I was very dissatisfied with my experience and I would not recommend them to anybody.

Currency Capital specializes in equipment purchases and not all other loan institutions do that. They usually try and do a wide range of loans and it makes it complicated because they’re not specifically doing equipment, whereas Currency Capital understands the procedures of what needs to be done and they do it. The whole concept and program is great. It’s quicker and easier than having to go to the bank and borrow on titles once I purchased them and do all the paperwork and accounting.

Before, I would buy things out of my pocket and then have to take them to the bank and surrender the titles to them. Then I’d be back next week getting the titles back because I had already sold the items since I buy and sell. Trying to schedule my appointment around the banker’s appointment time makes it harder and more time-consuming. But with Currency Capital, I can do it as I find time to do it. Plus, Jake, their relationship manager, is very thorough and follows up well once he gets things completed. And I really appreciate that. The whole experience was really good.

My experience with Currency Capital has been absolutely horrible nightmare. The most annoying thing is not able to talk to anyone via telephone because they will not answer their phone (your phone number is recorded and goes directly to voicemail via computer). If they do decide to call you back it's always at 6:00 PM with them wanting more information that is impossible to get that late in the afternoon. When I bought my other truck I was in and out in 2 days, it has now been over a month and a half and I am still dealing with this company. And I just found out that the title to the truck has been lost and now I can't get truck's license plates until the truck is been registered.

I don't know if the people are just incompetent or because they're ripping so many other people off that they know there have been a lot of complaints, I highly recommend not going with this company for a loan. If you are reading this please, I beg you to do your own homework. I wish I would have dug a little deeper. You'll find reviews on other websites of how horribly this company has treated their customers and I beg you to do your own homework and not only look at one review site but look at several and you'll see the thousands and thousands of complaints to this company. Our company has been in business for 16 years. We got two loans from Currency Capital, and they processed the first loan and we got it in a couple of weeks. The second loan was for a commercial equipment. But it took over two months for the man we were buying the equipment from to get his money. It was a nightmare. We almost lost the piece of equipment that we were buying and the downpayment we had put down because it just took them so long to get their act together. They couldn't decide what paperwork needs to be done. Also, they just kept telling excuses. They said I need to fill out this and that, or I need to finish my taxes. I submitted my income tax three times. We have excellent credit. We just hadn't borrowed big lumps like that before.

Our agent assured us he'd have the money but it took him forever to get it. We committed to the deal and got a $100,000 from our local bank and put that down. Still, it took two months to get it after we had committed. I was almost calling daily, and sometimes even more. Soon we started talking with other people at Currency Capital too. We finally got the money but it took so long to get it all done that some of the work we had lined up just didn't come our way. It also made the person that we were purchasing the equipment from very unhappy and delayed him in getting his business together. It was a painful and terrible experience. When I originally set up this loan, I specifically asked on numerous occasions if I would be responsible for the principal or principal and interest? I specifically asked that when I called back to pay this loan off if I would be allowed to pay off only the principal. I was informed by Bobby that yes I can pay off only the principal at any time. Just like any other loan.

Apparently this is not true and after speaking with Bobby a couple of weeks ago he informed me that there was a mistake and that he did remember me expressing on several occasions that I would be paying the loan off early and he also remembered telling me that I would be able to pay off on the principal. After several phone calls back-and-forth I spoke with Scott who is apparently Bobby's manager and I am now told that there is no way for me to pay off only the principal.

This was completely dishonest and Bobby told me that he was excited about getting this deal done because it allowed him to meet a quota. And he would be advanced to a higher position or a bonus structure or something like that, I don't remember entirely what incentive he got for getting this deal to go through. Now that the dust has cleared it is apparent that he scammed me into an agreement that I did not want. Nowhere in the agreement does it say I will be responsible for 100% of the interest charges. Nowhere in the agreement does it say I am unable to pay the loan off early. This is horrible business practice and a complete scam. Stay far away from this company!

I've received numerous phone calls regarding a vehicle loan inquiry that was submitted a long time ago (perhaps almost a year ago). After the first or second time I spoke with them, I explained I was not interested at this time but would contact them if I should change my mind. Instead, they kept calling me. Each time I said I wasn't interested and I'd call them. Obviously that means diddly squat with these people. It's borderline harassment. Sometimes several times a week. I don't get it - the other reviews here are overall pretty good. Am I one of the few experiencing this with them or do many other customers get cold called and actually sign up? I dunno, but I'm going to start logging the calls.

I was looking for an earthwork equipment on a machinery trailer and when I clicked on the button, I ended up applying to lease from Currency Capital. The guy I worked with was very friendly overall. However, they could have been clearer on the way that they handle things. There were some things that were a little confusing because it ended up being a lease instead of an outright loan and they weren't sure on that. Also, there were some confusing factors on deductions upfront out of my bank account for the initial payment. Sometimes they were also a little bit hard to get a hold of on the phone. I had some problems getting them to call me back because they were always on meetings when I really needed to talk to them and I found that really frustrating. But they worked really hard on trying to get everything approved for me. I'd recommend them.

We got a Bobcat and a trailer through Currency Capital and because of that, we are able to do more work now. Working with their reps was okay at first, but then it went sour. Initially, we thought we were getting out a loan. I was in banking so I asked for the terms two days before we finalized it. I read through everything word-for-word. And then, on the day they had me sign the contract, they told me it was the same exact contract they had already given me to review. So, I signed it.

Within minutes, I started reading through it and it was completely different than the one they had me review. They switched it out without letting me know. And apparently, I had signed up for a lease and I didn't want that. But it was too late at that point because I had already signed it. I wanted to cancel out of everything but the guy convinced me to keep it and change some of the terms to what I was semi-acceptable with. Also right after I signed the contract, I checked out ConsumerAffairs.com because I was freaking out that I got burned by Currency Capital. I read a bunch of reviews about them and some were good, while some were bad. I was hoping that I wasn't being scammed.

I still ended up getting the Bobcat and a trailer, but we're paying double than I originally thought we were going to be paying at the end of it all. We were planning to pay off the whole loan in five months, but because they switched to a lease, I'm now required to make all my payments and even though I wanted it paid off early, it doesn't matter. It's not like a traditional loan where you don't need to worry about the interest if you paid off in full. So, that's not what I wanted, but I had no choice. Currency Capital was able to get the job done but only pulling out the half of my teeth.

It was at a point and click thing at a bid auction where I knew about Currency Capital and I’ve had a couple of dealings with Mike, the manager. The first one was very fast. He quoted me a certain price when we bought another piece of equipment but the interest rate was way more than what they quoted. So, we ended up having to pay cash for the machine because I wasn't going to pay the interest rate that he proposed. I gave him a second chance and he followed through and the interest rate he proposed was what ended up being on the documents so that was good.

A couple of months later, I got a notice from a company called Pacific Capital which bought the lease but there wasn't any communication about these people. They called me out of the blue wanting to know where my payment was. And I told them I signed the documents and Currency Capital has an auto debit. They're supposed to be taking it out every month. It got straightened out but it was a lot of extra legwork on my behalf that I should not have done if Currency communicated correctly with whoever they sold the note to.

The fact that I have a startup company without business history and just needed to get the loan with the equipment, it was surprisingly easy to get the loan. It helped supply me with the necessary equipment that I needed to perform my service.

There was one incident that I didn’t like very much though. I was told the first payment of my loan was September 1st. I received my equipment in July and they charged me an interim rent which I didn’t know anything about. The interim rent was not mentioned at all. They just deducted it from my account and I didn’t have a chance to talk to them about it or send it in. I had found out about it after the fact and it was $700 so I was a little pissed off about that. I was blindsided with that. But going forward I thought everything about it was good but I won’t be financing my next deal with them because of that. They should have been fair with me. Overall Currency Capital was accessible but you better read the fine print.

However, I had a follow-up question, but I couldn’t get through to them because their phones were messed up. Their computer answering service would say that their voice mail is full every time I called.

It went on for about a month and finally, I got on the internet and got a hold of their headquarters’ 800 number and called every selection on the recording and I got through to the Accounting Department. The guy who picked up the call couldn't really do anything because he's from the Accounting dept, but they were made aware that there was a problem with their phone system and then they got it fixed now. We started with our first equipment loan with Currency Capital and we basically jump through hoops. I gave them everything they ask for along the way and they kept asking for more although we were more than qualified. It was a bit of a unique situation with the saunas and the vibration machines because it wasn't an approved vendor as it was coming from China. We figured all that out but then they'd say it was happening but then nothing happened. We're waiting for the computers and iPads but it's been two months and they've already took the money two weeks ago for the first payment. We also didn't get the funds for the saunas and vibration machines until a couple of days ago. It is really frustrating.

The rep who was pushing things through at the end said that it was more of the bank that they were working with. But when I spoke to the girl that was funding the loan at the bank, she said that they're not responsible for taking out first payment, it was Currency. That was last week and now we're pushing on a week and a half and I was wondering where's my stuff. We still don't have the computers and iPad as well. I'm at the point now where I think I've paid enough. We're at a point in our business where we’re growing so quickly and the iPad and the computer are super necessary so I bought them instead.

Alex was our original rep who helped us with a money loan which happened in three days, which is fine. I emailed and called him but I still haven't heard from him. We still don't have the equipment loan happening and it's ridiculous. I don't like getting the runaround. It's fine to wait if they would tell me what's going on and stop asking me for new things. I messaged Alex yesterday that they need to refund us for the difference of the first and last payment. They also need to send me a new document signed and edited that it would just be saunas and vibrations machines and cancel the iPads and computers. Overall, the money loan went smoothly but the equipment loan did not.

I was sent all the DocuSign agreements to read through, what I was paying for, what it was going to cost me and how much I was borrowing. And then I’ve called Kenneth last night at Currency Capital. I left a personal message on his voicemail because I have a $50,000 piece of equipment sitting here that I can’t register and can’t use. I’ve not received that or anything from the accounting or financing department in regards to the payment plan and when will it be deducted from my account and we’re now into it for over a month.

It's frustrating because I do not have any information at all. So other than the initial down payment that I paid, my first and last month’s payment, the next payment was set to come out within the next few days, and I don’t have anything legally on paper that says I have 20 payments left at this amount. There is no invoice or anything like that. I would like to have something from them. At the beginning, getting the money was the easy part. I won Sprinter van on eBay. eBay had link to financing company right on the winning page, so instead going to my bank I clicked on that link. Set up was easy, with just a few changes. They told, they can't make it as a financing but they will do lease with an option to buy. Instead of 36 months as promised initially they told that they can do only 24 month lease. We agreed on that. Before even finalizing all the paperwork they charged first and last month payment from my bank account saying that they are trying to speed up process. After payment was charged questions regarding insurance arise which we could not agree on. We had to stop dealing with them because we could not afford the loan anymore and asked to return money for the 2 monthly payments they charged for the loan it was never finalized.

I had equipment leasing from Currency Capital two years ago. The guy that handled it all, Josh, was excellent. I wanted to have everything stat and not mess around. The loan process went on for a couple of months then it started to get ahead of time. It's hassle going back and forth for all these paperwork. But Josh really went out of his way and worked with my loan.

However, I probably wouldn't go with Currency again because of the other guys I talked to. They're supposed to call me back but they do nothing. I needed to get a title for my trailer and I still don't have all the paperwork completed because it got screwed up. I have to have something filled out from the State of Pennsylvania. So, it's going to be over two months. They didn't go out of their way or they didn't try to complete anything. The rates, the loan and the money were totally different than what we talked about and what it was supposed to be. Overall, Currency was okay at first, but at the end of it turned sour.

But with the loan, it certainly made things easier. The interactions I've had with our relationship manager were all professional and timely. I had to find a lender and Peter from Currency Capital was the one that called me. The relationship manager was helpful and did everything he can. I was trying to get a truck that was at least ’04 to ’07, but he said it was too old and they wouldn’t be able to finance it. Now that I’ve been trying to get a new truck, he says, me being from the towing industry, a whole truck, new truck, day-in, day-out was a region issue, so I had no choice but to get a 2008 model truck that has a lot of issues that I’m sure the sellers didn’t know about, but when I tried calling the relationship manager a couple of weeks ago to let him know what was going on, their comeback for us was that I didn’t get the warranty and that I’ve already had the truck for a month. Nobody offered me a warranty or said anything about it, so I’m SOL on that one.

I bought a semi-truck and got a commercial loan that put me into hold. They took a month to get everything done and the money I had saved up threw me in the hole. Now, I’m about $2,000 in the hole trying to catch up. The company I got leased on with is not paying much money to operate it. I’m sad but I am satisfied for what it is in first time buying. I’m glad that I was able to get approved, but I wish it would’ve went a little bit better in my way money-wise and for them for taking so long.

It was for a lease term and a buyout at the end of the lease. They're very nice people and I do appreciate the loan. I'm glad it's there. However, I should have gone with my bank. I would only have had to talk to one person and not have to do all this confirmed payment. Or I could have and should have paid cash for it instead of taking out the loan. It's too much of a hassle. We had about three different people handling the loan. There's a lot of layers to the system and it seemed to be excessive. It held up shipment in some cases when we were trying to get it shipped here quickly.

I got an equipment leasing loan from Currency Capital and the process started about a month ago. But it’s been a few things after another that needed to get handled and came down to the finalization of it all. We went through this whole process thinking that it would probably take two weeks. I made it very clear that we needed the truck immediately and that we were dealing it. From that point, I thought it was going to work a month later. But when I got the truck about two weeks ago, I noticed that there was no tagging on it. When we got into the DMV, they looked into those titles and they didn’t have one for us. I called and I’ve been on the phone for probably about a week straight talking to different people trying to get it situated. The truck was sitting out in front of our Town Homes as we were losing money and we couldn’t move the truck. We had contracts lined up and that’s the whole reason why we went and got the truck.

Then, a month and a half later, our contracts were gone. We were supposed to pay them $1090 and when they asked us about it, I was pretty much being honest with them that we haven’t made any money. I was informing them that we’re going to pay this money but we haven’t gotten anything for our situation and we’re not able to work yet. But we went ahead and paid the money. We had to borrow money for that because we tapped out on the whole situation. All of these was contingent on this time that we can’t let go of. We have two or three contracts lined up including through Home Court, Dash By and a company called Safa. I didn’t want to hold these companies up or be unprofessional with them so I told them we’ll give them a call back whenever we get things situated. But at that point, I didn’t know when things were going to be situated.

I called Currency Capital and they referred me to a young lady named Shanna that worked at Pacific Leasing. I called her phone and left her various messages but I didn’t get to speak to her until about a week and a half later. I went to full investigation mode and have spoken to the manager of the titling department at Pacific Leasing. That’s when they told us that the title had been sitting at Circuit Leasing for about a week and that they needed to send it back out and send it to her. Then, they sent it back out there and they had it for a while. Also, we had given over about $2000 for this situation - insurance for the truck was $600 and $1090 to Pacific Leasing or Currency Capital.

I got very vague answers from Pacific Leasing. They're not really informative but when it came to getting the money, they were very spot on. They showed me the lease and that I can put the money and how I can do it, but I can’t get a callback. I would have to call them back and speak to different people. They've given us a hard time. They said to write a letter to them and explain to them what’s going on. I’ve spoken to them different times throughout the process letting them know exactly what was going on and I think it was more settled up. I don’t know if that’s on Currency Capital's end or Pacific Leasing' or how it goes but I’ve got to know. We have to make another payment to them, coming up soon and we haven’t been able to do any work.

I don’t even understand what happened with the title. I had an officer come to my house about the truck being without a tag. I explained to him exactly what happened and he was looking at me like it doesn’t make any sense. It didn’t really make too much sense to me either. He said he doesn’t see why they can do this and that he'll see what he can. The whole process has been a little hard but we did everything we're supposed to do in a timely fashion. I even made phone calls over to Arizona to expedite the title. I pretty much had to stay on it just to make it happen. But we have our truck and everything is situated now. Also, the guys that I've worked with, Royce and Agustin, have been good. They were very friendly and they definitely went out of their way to make everything happen. They helped me out a lot and I don’t have any complaints about them at all.

The only reason why I probably wouldn’t recommend is because of the individuals that Currency Capital is working with. Pacific Leasing is the only other company that they work with that I would know about but that process was hell. I’ve gotten loans before and I never really had gone through anything like this. They were supposed to take care of the registration but we ended up having to pay for it, which cost us almost $500. We got screwed. Then, our payday was coming up in a few days and I know that they’re going to be expecting that money. But they didn’t really show any empathy or compensation for it.

We got a small business loan for $20,000 from Currency Capital. The Capital relationship manager was a really good guy, very helpful, and very on time when we were working out the whole deal. They do immediate ACH transfers, which really helps when building and needing money, so they were able to do a one-day turnover. We deal with the city of San Antonio and we're the official lender for them. They got backtracked with other payments in December so we didn’t have much revenue coming in and generating.

Without the loan, we would have also backtracked in our projects. We wouldn’t be able to order concrete, buy the materials that we need, and then possibly we would have had to pass some of our work because the workers couldn’t work if we wouldn’t be able to pay. The loan helped us a lot to complete our job and got us back on track. Everything was really great except for the payment term. They could have changed the terms so we could do a monthly payment or twice a month other than me doing the withdrawal every single day. Then we ended paying around $30,000. Nonetheless, I've been satisfied and they were able to give me the help I needed.

I thought Currency Capital was just a loan and I didn’t realize it was a rental thing. It wasn't explained very well and that's my issue with it. I bought a truck from a person through pictures and it wasn't what it was when I picked it up. There was no way to get my money back because Currency Capital had already taken the first and last month's payment and the guy already had his money. So basically, it was my truck already and the title had been transferred before I even said that I'll definitely take the truck.

Then in less than the first month, they were already taking money out of my account and said it was a pro-rated rent. It's also a really a bad deal when one would go through and read the fine print. When I got the last bit of paperwork after they kept taking the money, they added a $400 fee towards the end and I was like, "Why do you keep taking money for?" I'm really dissatisfied with them and I don't like the setup. I would like to get out of it as soon as possible and I'd never do it again.

Currency Capital was great and very helpful in the beginning. But once we signed on the dotted line, their customer service went down the tube. They told us that they send an inspector to look at all vehicles before they’re purchased because they want to protect their investment as well as ours which was awesome. So we thought we didn’t need to send in an inspector and he thought that was good because that means the inspector is going to be overly nitpicky. My husband’s like, “I’m just gonna let their inspector do it because there is no inspection I or anybody else can do better than the bank." And then they turned around and said, “Oh, our inspector just was going to verify the title.” They tried to back paddle on that.

They sent an inspector and verified everything on the tow truck we are getting was in working order, just as the owner explained. It had brand new tires and a wheel-lift which is expensive. Their inspector was going to go out and verify and exchange the title. We got the vehicle and the wheel-lift is a 1990 and it doesn’t work, all the lights did not work which cost us $80 to replace, it has an electrical problem and the belts were bad. The wheel-lift is about a $1,200 issue. What’s wrong with the hydraulic pump is a $1,600 issue. They overlooked about $3,200 worth of things that don’t work. That’s a big oversight for all of these things that they said they inspected.

We’ve made two, going on three payments and the truck is not even road worthy. They keep trying to take money out of our banking account unauthorized, telling us that we owe them rental payments. Our financing bank, Pacific Lending, told us that Currency should not be withdrawing from our bank account and they have been paid in full. But Currency is trying and we blocked them. They’re shady. We’re regretting this deal and not sure what we’re going to do now because they’ve left us holding the ball. They don’t care because they already have their money. I understand things happen but the support for us isn’t there. Currency did nothing but cause us headaches and problems. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

Then, because the invoice number was for a different truck, they had to change the contract and they took off one truck and only did one truck. But they had already taken the down payment for the two trucks, which was more than $6,000, out of my account. I ended up only buying one truck, but they still haven't given me my money back, so they owe me money. and I'd like to get my money back

I've also seen another charge coming out of my account for $798. They just took it out and I need to know what it's for. They shouldn't just take money out of my account without telling me or letting me know what it's for. My monthly payment for the loan is $1500 and this comes out automatically from my account. That $798 charge could have been a part of my monthly payment, maybe for part of a month, but they should at least send me something saying that at this date they'll be deducting a certain amount from my account and tell me what it's for. After dealing with enough of their sketchy agents over the phone, and after trying to communicate to management, or any other department, it became very clear that the company is not to be trusted. When I asked them for their business address they started giving me the inquisition. "Well, I can help you with that but first I need to know who are you and what is your address? We don't give our address out to people we don't know." When pressed, they hung up on me. I then repeated this simple request 6 more times and got the same results with Jake, John, Stephanie, Phil, Royce, Dennis, and their manager, Alex. Each time the conversation got more heated and they got more resistant to giving out their business information... Ultimately they put me on endless hold or simply hung up on me.

For fun I immediately called Chase and without even introducing myself I asked for their address. It was given to me without hesitation. I did the same with for a random "business loan" company I found online. They were happy to give me their contact and business information, too. Why is Currency Capitol so secretive and evasive about their public company information? Why are they hiding? I should also note that this company also has a reputation for not following the National Do Not Call list. Which, again, makes them especially untrustworthy. If they refuse to follow the laws in telemarketing then how can you trust a loan they get for you?

When you get them on the phone everything seems fine until you take them "off script". As soon as they can no longer follow their per-defined phone sales scripts because you are asking questions they don't expect to answer that's when you start to see their deceptive ways. Why would any company that wants customers hide their company details? "Just Google it," Alex, the manager, told me... I did also note, the company's website also excludes their company information. HUGE RED FLAGS!

There are so many reputable loan companies out there, why risk damaging your future, finances, and business with a company like this? Do some research and get a honest loan from and honest company. Very sketchy company, very untrustworthy agents...You won't really know where your loan is coming from with a company like this. Don't do business with anyone you can't 100% trust. Especially if it is about your financial future.

We needed another truck to expand our business and we have a lot of customers that asked for non-runners because, at present, I was just moving moveable cars. So, I was in the market of getting a tow truck and I contacted NeedALender and Currency Capital contacted me so I applied for an equipment loan from them. Currently, I'm not using the tow truck. They told me they would handle the inspection and make sure that the truck is worth funding. So, I left it in their hands to make sure that the truck was good and running. However, that didn’t happen. I had to drive to Colorado, where it was at, to pick up the vehicle. And when I got there, the truck was all bad. I contacted Currency Capital to let them know that I wasn’t happy with the truck.

First, the guy said he’d take care of it, fix everything that’s wrong and to send him the invoice from the repair shop. I did that, but I didn’t get a response. I left him messages but he never called me back. A guy called and told me there was nothing they can do about it. The only thing they can do is give me more working capital and that’s not what I need. I needed to have a truck that's running good, to put it to work and not a truck that was broken down and not drivable at all, and with some mirrors missing. For commercial driving, I have to be safe on the road. Therefore, these mirrors need to be in place.

So, whoever inspected it through Currency Capital did not do a good job at all. They gave me reports saying good, but it was all bad. The truck is still in Colorado and I haven’t used it. I had to tell some of my customers that it’d be a bit later before I can actually move the non-runners and here I am, I’m still with the trucks that I previously had. I was polite when I told them what was going on. I sent several pictures of the truck, about 19 pictures of the motor, the check engine light, the missing mirror, the dented bumper and the damaged driver’s side. It’s like the whole tow truck bed is rusted. I felt I was scammed.

When I decided to get an equipment loan from Currency Capital, my relationship manager has been easy to contact and was very helpful. Before, I would have to ask for help with my business and people would never want to help or lend their stuff. That would slow me down or I would have to pay extra. But now, I have a truck and I can bring my merchandise to people. The loan has helped out a lot.

My experience with Currency Capital has been great. I’ve been in business for 20 years and I’ve always managed. I really didn’t need the money, but it has obviously made things a little bit easier having it available if needed. We do quite a few construction projects and a lot of times we’re out of funds on labor and materials while we wait to get paid. So the loan with Currency Capital has allowed me to fill that gap when needed until I collect on my end. Whereas in the past, I would either just get a cash loan somewhere at a high-interest rate and it was costing me quite a bit on the back end. This loan with Currency Capital is more ideal for those times. The young lady that was helping me out has been great, too. When we did a equipment loan, we were able to do the DocuSign and everything there on the same day and we were able to take care of that fairly quick, as well. She made the whole process very easy and I’ve been happy with the service.

Everybody was pretty good with everything at Currency Capital and Cody, the guy I talked to the most, was really cool. However, the whole process was extremely lengthy, and processing for this loan seemed more excessive than buying a house. And Cody handed my paperwork off to another kid whose bedside manners were a little off compared to his. In fact, I had to call Cody four times and he handled a few things for me instead of that other guy. But still, everything went well.

Also, the banks were wanting 35% down, but Currency Capital wasn't as excessive for the down payments. In my case, my credit score was low but I was absolutely stunned that the loan went through, although I'm sure I'm paying for it in some way, shape or form. Additionally, unlike the other lending company where I have to purchase from a vendor, it's anything with Currency Capital. Because I buy most of our equipment through United Rentals or in an auction. So for any of the auction stuff, I'll more likely go to Currency Capital. I'd recommend them, too. In fact, one of my sons is going to buy a piece of equipment too and I told him to call Currency Capital.

They could not provide me no information at all unless I give them my Social Security # to proceed. And when I told them, "Let me check on them first, before we go forward," the nasty salesman ask me without any shame and pudor "Do you have a problem with your credit or do you think we are going to give you $13000 just like that?" with a very rude tone and for no reason. So, I just hang up and call right back them to talk to a manager about the experience. It was even worse! So my personal suggestion to YOU is to stay away from these rude and vulgar salesmen...

I got an equipment loan from Currency Capital. Their rep, Jeff, has been friendly and easy to get a hold of. However, I didn't get the information out like I wanted from the lease part that we dealt with. I don't think he was clear on that. He said that was a lease deal, but at the same time, I can ship it back but I would have to pay for it. So, I was stunned about that. I thought the lease was something I'd paid for. And once I've finished, if it's still all right, I can send it back. That's why we're doing this as a lease deal, to have what they would say collateral just in case something goes wrong. And even though I couldn't afford the thing, it doesn't go back. It comes against me. Other than that, everything else was a decent experience. And because of the loan I got from Currency Capital, I am able do more jobs with the machine than I can with just hand digging so, it was just producing better.

And when March 1st hit, everything was back to normal, so it was the perfect pad to get us through that slow time. Without the loan, our personal credit would take a huge hit because everything for the business is personally financed right now. The business has only been in operation for three years and we wanted to go five years with no credit. Even all of our service vehicles are personally financed. All payments would have been late if we wouldn't have gotten a loan. The rep was awesome. She answered all my questions and was very responsive. My initial contact with Currency Capital was on February 2, 2017. I sent an email with the terms I wanted in the lease (no personal guarantee and a reasonable interest rate). On February 6th, the sales rep emailed an application which I filled out and returned the same day. On February 7th, he emailed over a proposal which stated, "This proposal expires on 02/07/2017 at 3:00 pm". Currency Capital treats this document as an actual contract and if you make the mistake of accepting this "proposal", before a legal contract is signed, Currency Capital deducts money from your bank account.

When you do not agree with the terms and conditions in the contract, Currency Capital's sales representatives (or at least the one I dealt with) tells you that they have already done extensive work on your lease and that it is non-refundable. Today is March 8th and my vendor has still not been paid (going on two weeks since the final contract was signed). And all this over a $25,000.00 deal... I could go on and on about the miserable experience I had, but my main goal is to forewarn others about this company's practices.

    Response from Currency

    Hi Deborah –

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with Currency. After investigating the case further, we have gathered the following details: The customer initially signed a proposal to receive financing with a personal guaranty. This mutually agreed upon proposal was set for funding at the beginning/middle of February. Unfortunately the PG then decided that it needed to be a “corp only” lease with no personal guaranty. Currency’s Account Executive went back to the drawing board for California Organic Fertilizers, Inc. and got an approval from credit on a “corp only” lease.

Currency worked to put together an additional financing proposal, however, the client wanted language in the contract changed on multiple occasions. Although this is nothing we’ve ever done before, we facilitated her requests and revised our contracts to meet her needs. The delays did not stop there unfortunately, and various objections continued to arise, ranging from not wanting to pay sales tax, to not accepting our pre-funding conditions. Of course we continued to facilitate the needs of California Organic Fertilizers, Inc. and after extensive delays we still managed to successfully fund the business for $25,000 in equipment. We offered a refund to the client on multiple occasions but they wanted to continue with funding despite the ongoing complaints.

Currency tried our best to meet this clients’ needs and expectations. Once again, we apologize for your experience with Currency. This particular case is not indicative of how Currency conducts business. I got an equipment loan and a cash loan from Currency Capital and I was able to get the equipment that I needed at the time that I needed to get it and to open a new store and do all the stuff I had to do. However, nobody mentioned that Currency Capital has an internal rent fee. It was in the document but it was never verbally stated that there's a rent I had to pay basically for having a loan out without receiving equipment yet.

I had my equipment built for my building and it didn't get delivered within the first four days of receiving the loan because the company who was making the equipment didn't actually finish fabricating it. It was a little bit upsetting because on the first half a month in before I ever got my equipment, a couple thousand dollars that is half the amount of a month of the loan was removed from my bank account and it didn't even go towards the price of the loan. It went towards them for giving me a loan and me, not receiving equipment. That wasn't normal to me and I felt that was a little bit unfair because how can I be in control of the company fabricating the equipment? So, that's something people must know as a downside, to be prepared to pay fees that they're not expecting. In the end, I still ended up paying more than I wanted to for my clean room, but I got the room I needed. So, I wouldn't take it back but I wish I had known upfront.

I was wondering why you didn't respond back?" I said to Anthony, " I didn't know I was approved." He said all I need to do is get my invoiced together and email them over to him. He called the vendor and talked to them several times and the vendor sent him the equipment invoice. I was really pleased at first and excited to get the loan and even offered to send my bank statements to show proof of income. He said I didn't need to get them because they would use the equipment as collateral. I asked him 4 times on a recorded line if he was for sure in stone I was approved and Anthony said yes. So I went out of town for a couple of hours and then came home with no answer. I waited 2 weeks because Anthony said he was waiting on the underwriters to type everything up.

The phone number I called kept going to voicemail with message box full. I called main office number in Los Angeles and they put me on hold each time and said they sent him emails to call me back. A week later which is today someone named Matt pulled up my account and told me they couldn't finance my equipment due to not having any credit. I thought to myself, the guy told me I didn't need credit. He said the equipment was collateral. Then I have everybody waiting for money that he said was approved and can't even call me to say I didn't get the loan? What kind of business is this? They sent me over a contract through DocuSign. He said my equipment had been approved. Why would a finance go through the vendor to get invoices without the customer getting approved?

I read these reviews and even if I didn't have the credit like some of these others it still doesn't make it right to do all that work and lie to a customer, send a contract to make a person think they have the loan and then not have the nerve to answer the phone. If this company is such a great place to work for why would someone that works there do that to a small business that's depending on the word Yes?

We were able to get a quick resolution to this misunderstanding. The company has issued a refund and so we are satisfied.

    Original Review: Feb. 7, 2017

I was exploring both a capital loan and small business equipment "leasing loan". This company charged our business checking account $1507.00 without permission for a loan they never provided that we never agreed to. They made us fill out a "application" online where the document only lasted 60 minutes and was rushed through the application only to be told that this was a contract.

I made several phone calls to request refund for the debit from our account and discussed unprofessional business tactics being told he agreed to this contract and fine print says "we can debit your account just to start working with you." I was told the debit was for first month and last two months for loan we never received. When I tried to provide them with a piece of equipment that we would have liked to use a loan for, they told us it was not adequate. We stated we have no use for this loan if we can not use for this purchase.

Alex ** was the second sales person we dealt with. The first one Mike ** was the one who originally had us complete an application, disappeared after a few days. However Alex ** took over for Mike, was very aggressive and made a number of verbal commitments that were not true just to get us to complete "application" online which apparently gave them right to debit the checking account.

I am just looking for $1507 refund and any other debits made or will be made to be refunded and/or cancelled. When I asked for refund Alex said it was too late and company needed to be paid for their time and effort made despite never actually loaning us any money. This company has very deceptive sales tactics including: telling you one thing over phone like equipment loan versus "lease".

Until I saw the application I was told I would be getting loan to purchase equipment. When they showed me the application which I had to read online with expiring time line there was tons of information and fine print not reviewed by Alex with high pressure to sign. The gentleman at Currency Capital that I worked with, Dylan, was very helpful and explained everything to me. In fact, that's the reason I went with Currency. He was awesome, and I really appreciated him. He was there throughout, even late hours of the night if I called and needed something, and he answered all my questions. We worked online, and Dylan asked me for documentation, which I provided. We then went to a third party finance company. With the loan I got, we were able to obtain inventory.

Currency Capital is as dishonest of a lending company as you will ever find. They contacted me about doing business with them. I normally do my financial business with local banks. But they made it sound like such a great deal you couldn't turn it down. I informed them what I need as far as terms and amount of money needed right away in our first phone conversation. The rep. that I was dealing with was Justin, I told him I wanted annual payments and told him I didn't want to pay any more than 6% interest. Justin said that would not be any problem at all. They informed me a day later that I was all approved to make my equipment purchase plus another $12,000 than what I asked for at the beginning.

After making the purchase is where the trouble really began. It took them forever to get the funds into my account which never happened. They told me I was all approved way in advance and to make that purchase, and then there was nothing but delays and excuses about why it wasn't getting funded. When they sent the paperwork to sign, the payments were monthly not annual like I requested, and the payments were almost double what it should have been. I did the math and the interest rate was 28% not the 6% originally agreed upon and it was a lease agreement not a purchase agreement. I was also dealing with Justin's manager Scott and they both lied every time they moved their lips.

If they were my employees I would fire the both of them on the spot. I told Scott to just forget it, I was tired of all the run around and got funding through my local bank in a 2 minute conversation over the phone. Now they refuse to refund the $1,750 that they took out of my account for the first 2 payments and their expenses. After I told Scott that I no longer need the funding because all the hassles and lies, both Scott and Justin started calling my cell phone none stop for about 15 minutes straight, I wouldn't answer the phone. They kept it up and wouldn't quit and started the next day the same way and lots of emails. Like I said, keep away they are so dishonest!!! So I guess they are keeping my money because they say they are entitled to it. I have all their text messages and emails and voicemails to prove everything.

    Hi Darwin,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with Currency. After investigating the case further, we have gathered the following details: The customer expressed in interest in receiving financing from Currency in which a Currency Account Executive worked with the client to begin the funding process. The customer and Currency were working together on obtaining funding for his business. Currency was able to secure an additional $12k more than what was initially asked for by the customer. The customer was approved by Currency and proceeded to go through standard procedures for funding. During this process Currency was obtaining information on the business that was required for the funding process in which the customer hot upset because the process was taking longer than expected. The customer was out of town on vacation so communication was much tougher than normal. Currency was not able to obtain important documents in an orderly fashion so we had to delay on our funding process in accordance with the documentation. The equipment that the customer was purchasing was also being re painted and specialized to the customer’s liking in which Currency had to wait until it was completed to obtain an invoice for the costs from the vendor. Currency maintained complete transparency during our funding process in regards to timing and pricing. Currency informed the customer multiple times that Currency would look into all term length options that would best suit the customer. The customer was well aware that the term was monthly when he signed funding document. The customer is ineligible for a refund due to the fact that the customer uni-laterally pulled out of the completed contract. Currency explained to the customer that we would keep his approval on file for a future purchase of equipment if the customer wanted to continue his funding process.

We tried to get a loan to purchase a dump truck. The company turned the financing into a lease instead. During the process we were told that we would have to make the first and last months' payments upfront. Before we ever had any numbers, they withdrew money from our checking account. Later they told us that they didn't have the numbers correct and needed over $600 more. Finally another payment of over $100 was needed because they again made an error. It was around this time that the lady who was supposed to come for the final inspection of the truck started telling my husband things about this "lease." Among other issues, we discovered that there was going to be another $817 that wasn't in writing in order to complete the lease at the end.

While signing the lease I was worried about the fact that our contract contained a delivery and acceptance document. I asked why I would sign this before we got the truck and I was repeatedly reassured that it was standard procedure and that I would have a chance to review the truck and still back out if need be. We also discovered that the truck, that supposedly worked fine, was in need of major repairs that we could not afford to make if we continued. With our concerns about the lease and the truck itself, we decided that this was not the right move for our company. Our "representative" and his "boss" both told us that we signed a contract so we were not getting our money back. They tried to use that delivery and acceptance document against us.

They obviously didn't feel like that was good enough so they threw in another reason for ripping us off. We had been pre-approved for $12000 and would have to just find something else to buy with that money. They even said that the private party that we were trying to purchase the truck from would have to go out and find us another truck to purchase. They would not give us money back. We protested for weeks until the "boss" finally told us that we could file a claim to be reimbursed. Less than a week later we called and found out that we were DENIED. They have taken almost $2000 from us. It might not sound like a lot but it is huge for our small business. I am desperate to resolve this issue and get our money back!!!

It was expensive but because of the time issue, I was able to buy the used equipment that I didn’t have the cash for. I saved three times more money than the loan cost me. Their rep was great. However, once the loan was paid off, they didn’t immediately send me a paid-off notice, which was important to me for my other banking things that I do on a regular basis. They made me wait a week and I did not appreciate that. I felt like they weren’t responsive to my needs. But other than that, they were great. Customer service was awesome. It was very worthwhile. Although I’m not happy that I had to waylay other financing because of the delay, I still wouldn’t have been able to purchase the machines that I did without them.

I was looking to get a loan from them working with this guy William **. Went through all their paperwork, and told them I am going on vacation. While being on vacation they went into my account and stole $1159.00. When I got back, they proceeded to send me a contract to sign. I looked over it and the percentage was too high and terms were not good. I still had no idea they took money from my check and they didn't tell me. After reviewing their proposal I decided that this is not good fit for me. They kept pressing me on to sign the contract, and started calling like crazy, still no email, no voice mail that "hey we already took money out, a fee that we never told you about." So 10 days goes by and I go to reconcile my accounts and there I see they charged me. I call them back and they said, "sign the contract. You are not getting your money back."

I gave them no verbal or written permission to take money out of my account and they gave no indication they would. I gave them my checking info so they can deposit money for a loan for equipment. Instead they wanted me to sign a contract that was a lease and they own the equipment and at the end of the lease they would evaluate how much it is worth and then pay them 10% to buy the equipment off of them at that point on a 17,000 loan, and they wouldn't tell me how they would value the 10% at the end.

I was out of the country from 12/23/16 and got back late at night on 12/27/17. I got back to them on 12/28/17, after having time to review the contract and said this is not a good fit for me. They emailed and didn't say anything about my account having been already charged. Later I found out from the bank, had they told me the bank would have been able to stop the charge that day. I guess they knew better and didn't say anything so the money goes through. Stay away, they will steal money from you, not worth the risk.

    Hi Jane,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with Currency. After investigating the case further, we have gathered the following details: The customer had requested services from Currency for both Equipment Leasing and Working Capital and signed mutually agreed upon documents with a Currency Account Executive to move forward on one of Currency's programs. After signing the mutually agreed upon documents, Currency received an email that the customer wanted to cancel the already signed contract. Currency immediately called the customer and asked what changed and what the customer's concerns were. The customer stated that the equipment was too expensive in which Currency recommended the customer and Currency look at a lower price vehicle or a shorter term to reduce total number of payments. The customer stated that she wasn’t interested and wanted to cancel the previously signed contract.

Currency advised the customer that it was too late to cancel the signed contract since the customer had been approved in full and that the customer could apply her payments towards a different piece of equipment or that Currency could provide a separate program to recover the customers payments while the paperwork for the equipment was finalized. Currency presented a separate financing program offer with a repayment discount in which the customer did not accept. Due to a payment rejection from the customer's bank, Currency currently does not hold any of the customer's funds.

My patience with Currency has run its course. We are a customer by default, since our account was purchased by Currency on a previous purchase of equipment, of which we have never missed a payment or have been late and are in good standings. And so for more than six months we have been receiving marketing calls from Currency to see if we need any added capital to buy more equipment. We finally caved and agreed to use Currency on our next equipment purchase. After negotiating a rate, and terms, we were approved, and the loan documents were sent via Email and signed via "Docusign". Meanwhile, on Currency's word and approval, we had committed to purchasing two pieces of equipment totaling a mere $6,300.00 or so.

Along with the loan documents, we gave our banking information agreeing that once the transaction was complete Currency would debit the first and last payment of the term. We waited almost a week thinking that the Representative had contacted the sellers and all was moving along. When we heard from one of the merchants demanding to be paid for the item, we called Currency and got no response. After checking our bank account, we found that Currency had taken the payments, and only after leaving a nasty message, got a response from the rep, stating that they had rescinded their approval without explanation, and promised that the payment would be sent immediately for the amount taken.

To date we have not received the payment, and it's going on to almost 3 weeks. Currency it seems, is in the business of taking funds without delivering on its word. They are the epitome of bad lenders. We will never do any further business with the likes of Currency and if we do not have our funds back this week will have no further option except to report this to the proper authorities. People beware of these people, they are not a lender to deal with. We have since purchased the equipment we originally set out to buy, with the help of a reputable lender. "The refund for $370.49 was processed and sent out "... This was the last correspondence from Nolan **, Currency's rep. two weeks ago, The infamous statement that the "check is in the mail".

    Hi Tammy,

Thank you for contacting Currency. We sincerely apologize for the experience you have described. After investigating the case further, we have gathered the following details: Currency and the client discussed the option of financing equipment for the client's business for a number of weeks until the client decided they would purchase two pieces of equipment that would be financed through Currency. The client and Currency mutually agreed to terms and per standard operating procedure, the client had initial funds withdrawn from their account in which they were fully made aware of ahead of time.

After further review of the potential deal, the cost of the equipment to be financed was deemed not large enough to be financed through Currency's current financing programs. This message was immediately relayed to the client and a full refund was processed and sent to the client's address. The client has since received their refund in its entirety.

My boyfriend and I used Currency Capital because we needed extra funding for our small business. It turns out we were told that the payments would be 59.76 daily and there would be no payments taken out on weekends and holidays. That is not true. If there is a holiday and the bank is closed they take two payments a day on the following day that the bank opens. I went back over the contract and there it is in small print where most people don't notice enough to read.

Also, we had to pay 250.00 to have the paperwork processed thru currency capital and then we had to pay 300.00 to New Logic - which is a company that currency capital uses - once the money was deposited into our acct. We were never told about the 300.00. I got online a few days after the deposit to check our account and there was the 300.00 debit. I also went back and pulled all my emails to see if I missed something. All signatures were done docu-sign and now when I try to pull the contracts that were emailed to me there are no attachments attached to any of the emails. As for recommending this company I WILL NOT. They are misleading and untruthful. If you choose to use this company PLEASE be careful. Personally I would not use them and will never recommend them.

We secured a loan from Currency Capital in order for us to consolidate our business bills. We were having major difficulties with general contractors that we have done some big work for and they're slow payers so sometimes, it takes up to four or five months to get the bill paid. The money that Currency Capital gave us is getting us through right now. We have nine months to a year to pay it off, so the terms are decent. If you figure out the interest, it was a little high but better than the rest of them as far as that type of loan goes. And now we've started getting the money in from the general contractors so hopefully by next month, we're gonna have all of our debt caught up and are hoping to knock down this loan rather quickly after the first of the year.

My wife takes care of all the books in our company and she dealt with Miley who pushed the loan through for us really well. Miley stayed on top of everything and did the best of her part that she could do. As far as comparing them to the other companies that do what they do, Currency Capital has been the best overall.

I did a temporary business loan and then we got a lease with them for some equipment. Without it the loan, it would have been a stretch to cover some bills so it was very helpful for us. They were great to work with. They've absolutely accomplished what they said they could and got everything done in the time that we needed it done. So, I'm very happy with dealing with them and will continue to do business with them in the future on any other loans that I needed.

I was in the market for financing equipment so I put my name out and Currency Capital contacted me through email. It was supposed to be a loan and they said I was pre-approved but then it turned into a lease and it was one thing after another. It was like bait-and-switch. Said one thing, another thing came out. I'm not gonna lease a piece of equipment that I'm paying $20,000 for and it's $31,000 at the end of the three years that I'm paying them. I understand there's interest but they wanted almost a $4,500 security deposit plus the title of my dump truck. At the end of the three years, I can either give the tractor back and get my security deposit back or I let them keep the $4,450 as a payoff. They'll end up making $35,000 on my $18,000 backhoe. And it wasn't for me.

There's even a little bit of pressure to take the lease that they gave me and it was a little sketchy. They weren’t being upfront about everything. They told me that I can pay it off early and they gave me early payoff discounts. But that changed and none of it was true. I wasn't very happy so I did not take a loan out with them. I would never recommend them. They ended up setting me up with Snap Advances for a cash advance. I had the Snap Advance fortunately but there isn't much I can do about it.

    Hi Paul,

We apologize for your experience with Currency. After investigating the case, we have gathered the following information: After speaking with the client’s Account Executive, the client expressed interest in receiving funding from Currency. The client agreed to move forward with the funding process and signed their application giving Currency permission to submit the client’s file for funding approval.

Currency’s lender partner presented terms to the client but the client hesitated because of there being no recourse for him if he were to miss a payment. The client is under the impression that if he misses one payment with Currency’s lender partner they will take the collateral, security deposit, the backhoe, and sue him for the reaming payments owed. The client did not feel comfortable moving forward knowing he was going to personally guarantee the deal and potentially open himself and his family to liability.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for your experience. This experience is not indicative of how Currency conducts business. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at (800) -935-2178 or assist@currencycap.com.

    Original Review: Nov. 2, 2016

I inquired about business loans on LendingTree.com. I was contacted by Joel of Currency Capital. He told me he could get me $20,000 in a "leasing" deal. My payments would be $658.00 per month for 60 months. I realize that the amount paid for the amount borrowed was pretty high, but Joel told me they report to the credit bureaus and I figured that the building of the credit would justify the cost. I signed a docusign document with the payment amount, but no principal amount... I should have been a bit more concerned with the fine print... it does say they keep the "first and last payment" pretty much no matter what. I thought we had a deal.

I was later told by Joel that I was not approved for the $20,000 as previously discussed, but I had been gotten a deal for $12,000 with payments of $610.00 a month... I need the equipment and the credit, but to agree to pay almost $30,000 for $12,000 in credit is simply borderline insane. I asked for a refund of my $1300 they took the very night I signed the document and was told that since they came to me with a deal they would not refund my money, it is my choice to not go forward so it's not their fault... anyways on the document I signed it does mention this as a term in the fine print, but it also says that the deal has to be approved on substantially the same terms as discussed... which it is not.

So my recommendation to anyone directed to this firm is to be extremely cautious and beware they will take your money and refuse to refund it when you do not take a deal that is not the deal discussed and differs substantially from the original amounts and terms discussed... this is a simple case of predatory lending and my court is going to define the term "substantially different".

We went with them because of their response time. They were incredible and their representative, Jake, did a very good job. He was excellent, very professional, answered my questions quickly, and followed up on any requests that I had. From start to finish, we had the whole process done before the week's end. We started it in the beginning of the week, and two or three days later I knew that it was going to happen, and I was shocked. We received our contract by email. With them you could know if it's going to happen or not, whereas with banks the process takes from two to four weeks, and you start to plan on getting the loan, but a lot of times it doesn't happen.

It was for an inventory that we got a loan from them. We work on a cash basis, so this loan really helped on those slower months that we could use up our inventory. It put us in a better position. We're up almost 25% on sales this year. I'm very pleased. It's nice to have that type of service available to small business owners, so we really appreciate it.

So many other companies out there. This company has shady practices. They have reps that smooth talk, they are your friend, they are there to help you -- then you being trusting to a good rated company with good reviews (for the most part) sign your docusign paperwork. Then when you discover their shady business they get out of it saying "You signed the paperwork", "Can't you do the math?!" Even though what is on the paperwork is not what was promised. And oh.. well of course what was verbally agreed on doesn't count. So you're pretty much screwed, unless you want to ruin your credit.

MAKE SURE THAT WHATEVER is discussed verbally is followed up with an email. DO NOT let your contact 'go around' the question. GET a "YES", "NO", or "CORRECT" out of your response. Document via email all verbal conversations and get a firm acknowledgement out your contact. We are pretty much screwed. Beware. Don't finance with them.

They'd be like, "let's pay this loan back down 65%" or go about rules and regulations they didn't tell me about. On the other hand, Currency Capital was like, "you qualified for a $100,000", and they were gonna give me 80 now and then 10 two weeks from now.

When we start good-sized jobs, we can use that capital to mobilize, make payroll and then make it pay back every day. Instead of having to wait for a check to come in, we can keep current on all the bills on projects and then once their checks come in, the figure balances itself out, except for their exorbitant service fee. I was trying to job in to September and making preparations in the middle of September and the job was in two days, but their guys were quick and very easy to work with.

Every time he told me he was going to contact me or send me an email, he kept his word. That's what really bought me. Most of the guys that worked with me kept their word. If I call them and I couldn't get them on the phone, in 30 minutes they'd call me back which was really nice. And to me, when someone can keep their word, I can really do business with them. I’m starting a new business and I Googled small business loans. I clicked on the first item and didn't even know it was Currency. I filled out some information and Joel from Currency Capital got in touch with me immediately. My initial application was for some equipment and he asked how much equipment I was looking at. I told him $8,000. He said we'd start with that and then once it has been approved and if I needed more equipment for my business and working capital, then the application process would be a lot faster because they would have all my information on file.

Working with him wasn’t confusing. He would give me one thing to search for and once I sent it to him and it was approved, he went on to the next item. He didn’t continue with the next step until we were 100% on what we needed on the current step that we were taking. I really liked that part and didn’t feel bombarded. With my current two jobs and then trying to get my business started up, I felt I had a really good and manageable pace. He was very clear on everything. I was giving him all my personal information, and I trusted him. He was very nice and patient with me, which meant a lot to me because technology at my age can be challenging. Even when I ran across a bump in the road, he stayed on the line and we walked through every step on the computer. He made sure that I was on the right track and right page to make that piece of that document sent to him.

The process was easy and quick. I had a really good experience with Joel. I had gotten an email saying that if I wanted to pursue some more financing with Currency, that I had to verify that everything on file was current, which I did right away. I filled out the application. I just needed to scan and send it to the email address that was sent in that email.

I applied to Lending Tree online for a small business loan. Before I'd even completed the online form, lenders began calling me. One was a Ben ** from Currency Capital and the other was from Capital Advance Solutions. The latter company was very honest and made me submitted formal documents to prove my eligibility. But Ben from Currency Capital said he'd get me the loan, and I signed 3 Docusign contracts offering at first 21k, then 15K, then after submitting more documents, came down to 9k. Then a $540 withdrawal occurred from my business account. I immediately called Ben and he said it's a good sign and that the loan should fund shortly. Just to wait on everything to process. That was Sept 13, 2016.

Afterwards when no funding appeared I tried to call Ben, and email him and tried to call from various phone numbers. No reply, no callback, no email. Left up to me to solve, I went to my bank today and disputed the $540 withdrawal, and stopped future payments. Had I not been proactive and waited any longer, then I couldn't have done anything to get my money back. To payback the loan they were going to take automatic withdrawals out of my business account every day. The rate was like 25-30%. Ben promised I could pay off the loan early and restore myself to excellent credit. It was all a scam and now several other "lenders" have hit on my credit.

I learned a lesson - don't expect online lenders to be honest, I now have the "IRS" calling saying they are suing me and want all my SS and TIN #s. Who knows how far my info was spread. On the other hand Capital Advance Solutions rep actually told me he couldn't get me a loan, but for me to go get a secured credit card, buy gas once a month on it, pay it on time and call him back in a year. He assures me this is the ONLY way to get my credit score up. Hoping his advice will be fruitful - BEWARE CURRENCY CAPITAL - thieves.

    Hi Penny,

We apologize for your experience with Currency. After investigating the case, we have gathered the following information: Currency initially spoke with the client in which the client expressed interest in financing a small business loan. Currency advised the client the next step in the funding process would be for Currency to secure the funding with a term sheet so Currency could go through with the funding. The client agreed and signed the initial term sheet.

Once initial term sheets were signed, Currency provided the necessary documentation to our financing partner to complete the funding of the deal. After conducting their own internal review, the lending partner lowered their initial offer due to seasonality concerns. Currency prepared new documentation in order to still fund the customer but once again, the financing partner declined the deal for the same reason they originally lowered the approval amount (seasonality concerns).

The customer was unable to contact her Account Executive due to the fact that the specific individual involved is no longer an employee of the company. Following the employee’s departure, Currency began our internal process of transferring the clients account to a separate Account Executive. We apologize for this miscommunication in which evidently caused your delay in communication. Currency attempted to submit a full refund to the customer but was declined due to the declination of the original withdrawal.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for your experience. This experience is not indicative of how Currency conducts business. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at (800) -935-2178 or assist@currencycap.com.
