I have had my Tesla for four-and-a-half-years, 110,000 miles. My only repairs have been a couple bottles of washer fluid, a new set of windshield wipers, cabin air filter, and two new sets of tires cause I love to drive her hard! Through FREE Over-the-Air updates, my car keeps getting better over time, Sentry Mode, Dog Mode, constant Self-Driving updates, tons of safety updates such as being able to check out the surroundings of your car on your phone app before walking into a dark parking lot. Tesla constantly analyzes crash data then they reconfigure brakes and seat belts through Over-the-Air updates to give drivers the best chance of avoiding/surviving a crash. My Model 3 even got a free software upgrade in 2019 that gave it more range and made it quicker, and there is an paid option to make it even faster.

All Tesla cars are manufactured with all the hardware needed to make them Full-Self-Driving (FSD) vehicles, so if you are not into that when you purchase your car, you can alway add the Full-Self-Driving function by just purchasing the software in the mobile app. You may either purchase the FSD package upright or you can just subscribe on a monthly bases to try it out or to take that long road trip. I Love my car, unlike all other cars, my Tesla was the worst it will ever be the first day I drove it off the lot! Through free Over-the-Air updates, my car keeps getting better every day!

The Model Y has been a game-changer for me. I would argue this is the best all round vehicle you can buy on the planet, not just the best EV. I used to drive a Honda Accord and I thought I had a pretty good vehicle until I got to drive a Model 3 and a Model Y. The Model Y specifically stood out to me because of its utility. I rented a 2022 Model Y LR for a long road trip (~4000 kms) and ended up deciding to buy one as my next car. The vehicle is incredible and packed with seamless technology. Most of which can only be found on a Tesla.

The instant torque, incredible safety features, loads of power and no range anxiety because of Tesla's reliable charging network that’s everywhere now. If you haven’t driven one I highly recommend you rent one and do a road trip with it. My cousin has an old Tesla and he says the battery is still holding up reasonably well for its age. Their newer batteries degrade only around 10% at 250k miles. I’m loving my new Model Y and could not imagine living without a Tesla vehicle. This is the iPhone moment for automobiles.

I've owned my Model Y for 3 years now. With the over-the-air software updates my car has gotten better with age adding new features and better safety for free. The driving experience is remarkable with the instant torque, quick acceleration, low center of gravity, great handling and one pedal driving. Autopilot has been amazing on those long road trips taking the stress out of staying in lane and managing speed especially during traffic jams. I love not having to carry around a set of keys with me as my phone locks and unlocks the car automatically.

Waking up each morning with a full charge and never having to stop at a gas station is fantastic. Service on the car has been minimal with only a few minor things that were all taken care of under warranty, very quickly, and typically done through mobile service where they come to the car whether you're at home or at work. Tesla's software and supercharging infrastructure is so far ahead of what other manufacturers have to offer. Everything adds up to the Model Y being the best all around vehicle!

I feel I am more in control of this vehicle than every previous vehicle I've owned. Charging overnight in my garage is super convenient and if I need to travel long distances the Tesla Supercharger network is the best. The cost of ownership with respect to maintenance is a fraction of my previous gas cars. I have FSD-Beta and believe Tesla will solve automotive vehicle autonomy that regulators will approve and that it will/has saved lives.

This review is related to my experience owning a brand new Tesla Model S purchased in 2016. I have 78,000 miles on the car and it still runs like new. I love it and would never go back to another gas vehicle in the future. The moment I test drove the car, I thought I was driving something from the future and had to have one. Since then, I am still excited about my car to this day. I've never had a vehicle where I've felt that way after a few months of owning the car. I've had a BMW convertible, Lexus, and others, but the Tesla beats them on almost every metric. Better performance and better tech including on-demand music through Spotify, better self-driving software, better phone app integration, ability to track the car on the phone, adjust everything in the car through the phone, etc. No going back for me!

I’ve been driving the Tesla Model X Plaid for a few months now and I’m absolutely thrilled with it. It’s the most amazing car I’ve ever owned. It has everything I need in a family car: space, comfort, safety, and performance. The Falcon doors are not only cool but also practical, making it easy to get in and out of the car even in tight parking spaces. The interior is spacious and minimalist, with a huge touchscreen that controls everything from navigation to entertainment. The build quality is excellent and the materials are premium. The driving range is impressive, with up to 333 miles on a single charge. And the performance is mind-blowing, with a staggering 1020 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 2.5 seconds. I have never had so many quality control issues with a car, even with my first car in high school. Weak panel clips that cause just about everything to pop apart, cabin air filter designs that encourage a terrible mildew smell that Tesla refuses to recall, the display with all of your driver info restarting while driving and taking a full minute or two to reboot, wildly inconsistent panel gaps, the thinnest and weakest exterior paint, and countless other “small” issues have made up my entire two year lease of a *brand new* Model 3 Performance with now only 20k miles.

The worst part of it is that you have an even lower quality service team. All of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, one of the most populated, is crammed into scheduling between one of two service centers that can handle these types of problems. Expect months wait to get it, longer for parts, and god forbid paint and body if you’re in any type of collision. The cherry on top of it all was Tesla’s decision to force leases to return the vehicle instead of buying it out or selling to a dealership. All so they could take advantage of the hot used car market and keep that profit for themselves rather than allowing lessees to make a dime of their cost back. I once thought I wouldn’t own another make of car, but now I can’t possibly imagine ever touching a Tesla again.

I often describe to acquaintances that switching from a traditional car to a Tesla vehicle is like when you switched from a "flip phone" to a smart phone. The smart phone and Tesla vehicle are paradigm shifts. The vehicle handles mundane tasks today like using your phone as a key/remote control, it knows when you are in the car and adjusts to you, it predicts what you are going to do and just does it for you. After driving a Tesla for a while you really notice all of the little mundane things a traditional car requires you to do. The car also updates over the web like a smart phone and new features continue to be added to it.

Additionally, with full self driving capabilities available, the car can drive itself on any road in the US- right now, today. It is only getting better as releases download to your car every few weeks. So these are now the safest (5 star on all vehicles) and smartest cars on the road and the starting prices are around the average price for all vehicles.

I did a lot of research for years before buying my Model Y. To keep this brief, here are the things I love about it: Instant responsiveness. All other cars I drive now feel sluggish and laggy. Clean, well thought out interior and controls. Over-the-air-updates mean my car gets free upgrades with new features for free. No other car company does this. 5* crash rating across the board. I want my family in the safest car on the road and this is it. No more gas. Not having to fill up at the station anymore is freeing. I have driven this from DC to Maine and back, Florida and back, and Kansas and back. I didn’t have to switch drivers because it was less fatiguing with autopilot/FSD beta as an assistant. Definitely much safer experience since it was much less tiring and so I was more alert at the end of the drive.

Spacious. I am always amazed at how much I can fit in this vehicle with the inclusion of storage space in the trunk and in the subtrunk. I have the 7 seat option and have traveled with 6 people with luggage for everyone in comfort. Zero emissions. No more noxious exhaust fumes. Near zero maintenance. I only need to replace the washer fluid and the tires. The brakes (unless you are track driving) should last the lifetime of the vehicle due to regenerative braking. Overall, I couldn’t ask for a better vehicle. These cars are unlike anything else on the road.

The only maintenance needed so far is a tire rotation and windshield wiper fluid after 17,000 miles! It charges in our garage and is always ready to go. No more gas stations. The Tesla Model Y is one of the safest cars ever built.

The sound system in the car is by far the best I have ever experienced and it comes standard with your car, no extra fees. One foot driving is a great experience. The storage space in the car rivals our Toyota Landcruiser. Our family of 5 has gone on many road trips with this car and the Tesla Supercharging experience is simply awesome, easier than pumping gas.

My late 2022 Model Y is the best car I have ever purchased or driven. The experience to purchase was literally the easiest and completely changed my desire to ever step foot into a dealership again. The car is comfortable and the sound system is the best I have ever heard. This car is all about making the experience fun for the driver and passengers. It is faster than anything I have driven and cheaper to fill up than anything I have driven. Many other benefits over gas cars, such as waking up with a charge ready to take on most days, and for road trips the Tesla charger network is ubiquitous and second to none.

Teslas are also designed to be the safest cars on the road and are built to need as little maintenance as possible. Tire rotations, changes, brake fluid checks, and windshield wipers and fluid. That is about all that needs to be done. This overall experience is why many Tesla owners tell the tale that once you get people in the seats of their vehicles is changes their mind on electrified vehicles and especially those built by Tesla. There is a reason that the Model Y is approaching the goal of being the best selling vehicle (gas/EV) in the world as it already is in so many countries already.

I couldn't be happier with my Tesla Model Y Long Range. The car drives really well and the software and navigation are just the best. I owned an Audi in the past and I'd choose the Tesla over that vehicle every time. Plus, the Tesla Supercharger network is so convenient and the level of integration with the navigation system is shockingly good. I've read nightmare stories about Electrify America and I couldn't imagine attempting to rely on that network when traveling. I had a slight service issue and I used their app to request service. It was a seamless experience and the technician came to my house at the scheduled time. The level of communication and convenience was beyond what I'd experienced with Amazon. Lastly, I get to remotely trigger the 'fart noise' while watching the cameras on my phone--a feature my wife isn't too fond of.

I got the Tesla for the technology and safety, but what I love the most is how amazing it is to drive. I use Autopilot 99% of the time on the highway (it drives for me). It keeps me centered and is great for stop-and-go traffic. It drives safer than me. The automatic braking and beeping when there is a risk of collision has saved me from fender benders. It has helped keep me in my lane HUNDREDS of times. I’m a distracted driver. :o

The instant response (zero lag) when you hit the accelerator makes it a real pleasure to drive. When you lift your foot from the pedal, the electric motor does the braking instantly without you needing to move your foot over to the brake and pressing down. This saves a half-second when braking. OK, the best part is waking up to my Tesla charged up early morning. I never have to go to the gas station again except to take a dump.

Nothing compares to the supercharger network for long road trips. My next car is an EV but not just any EV, a Tesla EV. Don't knock it until you drive one. Yes, it's minimalistic on interior but I don't need a thousand doodad plastic bobs and buttons. Software is the future and the UI is clean, responsive and feels like using an Apple product. Great for everyday driving and can charge around 40-50 miles just on a regular plug at home, no need to install a special charger.

I took my Tesla Model Y that I had just bought a few days ago for service center in Irvine to repair the rear seats' headrests which were rattling when they were in higher position. The rattling would stop where the headrests were all the way down to the lowest position.. After the mechanic confirmed the rattling noise he said that this cannot be fixed. I said in that case it is a design flaw. While I was discussing that issue, one of the service advisors told me that the person sitting in the back should rest his head on the headrest to prevent it from rattling. That comment was so ludicrous that I am still laughing at that comment.

After a few minutes the mechanic came back to suggest that he can try to fix it. So I sat in the lobby for an hour or so, then he came back and said he fixed it. I asked how did he do it he said he wiggled the headrests to fit it in place. I picked up the car and I noticed that now the headrests are a few inches up but they do not function properly. They now can not be adjusted to either up or down. Now I have a brand new Tesla with defective headrests.

Updated on 08/08/2023: I complained over and over and got the ** that it was impossible to transfer to a new vehicle. Like an idiot, I bought a new Model S, Then I was in shock to find out just days later after delivery that Tesla is offering a transfer of self-driving software now if you buy Tesla this quarter. All the salesperson had to do is tell me to wait like five days. But they kept up the lie, no transferring. But the greedy Elon/Tesla still won't transfer mine. No appreciation for returning clients. I will never buy a Tesla Again. FYI the 405-mile range is more like 250. Also, the cars catch fire very easily. Advice, never ever pay the $15,000 for self-driving, if you get hit or car burns you're out the $15,000 for the software, even after only one day, and insurance companies do not cover the software. So very disappointed in Tesla and Elon.

Original: Hello, I prepaid for the self-driving package years in advance, and finally, I got just a beta version, a few weeks later, I was involved in an accident by some idiot who decided to turn head-on into traffic. The car was totaled, so I decided to go down and buy a new Tesla. I was surprised to find out that now they want an additional $15,000 prepaid for self-driving software, even though I had bought it before and never got to use it.

This is very, very bad business for two reasons: First, I would never pay for anything in advance again with Tesla. Anyone who does is a fool like me. If anything happens to the car, you just wasted $15,000 for nothing. Second, If they had let me transfer the software license to the new car, I would have bought it. But now, with so many options, I am open to purchasing an eclectic car from someone else. I think it is a huge mistake not to transfer self-driving software from one vehicle to the next. PLUS, if you did, that would be a serious motivator to buy Tesla again and again. Tesla is missing a golden opportunity to lock in returning customers. Very short-sighted on Tesla. FYI, Lucid is looking very good!

“The measure of a company is not when things are going well but rather when there is an issue that needs solving.” Tesla has (and is) enjoying a good run. Perhaps that is why their poor customer experience has gone under the radar? Or perhaps since the dealerships have been eliminated there is not a “face” of the company that cares enough about the customer to resolve issues? Whatever the explanation Tesla's end game is “pay us more money so we can resolve your problem and get you back on the road”. That came directly from the Bellevue service manager. If you are the handful of Tesla owners that never have a problem then please move to the next review. If you are considering a Tesla we suggest moving on to Lexus or Audi. We have owned them both & both are outstanding cars & customer experiences.

I thought Saturday was going to be a great day as I picked up my brand new 2023 model Y Tesla. I had done my research, test drove a vehicle, watched a number of video tutorials - I was ready to go! I went to the Chesterfield MO dealership and signed the papers. Everything seemed fine as I was driving down the interstate. However, as I got near Busch Stadium, the car just started to decelerate. Some weird things showed up on the dashboard about the emergency brake being deactivated and I’m just trying to hit the gas and it is not moving. I ended up in the fast lane on the middle of the Poplar Street bridge with a car that wouldn’t move! I was panicking and tried to call the Tesla dealership to ask what I needed to do.

I ended up getting the phone directory nightmare and pressed the number for service. It informed me I needed to go to service through my Tesla app only. I called back and asked to go through sales. It would ring and no one picked up. I called 911 as I am hearing cars slamming on their brakes around me to avoid hitting me on the middle of the bridge! 911 dispatched an emergency vehicle and they towed/dragged my new car off of the bridge and parked it on the median at East St. Louis (the tow guys were FANTASTIC).

I finally got through to Tesla and they just said I needed to tow it back to the dealership and they could look at it on Monday since the service department was closed over the weekend. I explained again that it was a BRAND NEW VEHICLE JUST OFF THE TRUCK - what on earth was going on? I told them I could have been killed on the Poplar Street bridge. There didn’t seem to be much concern, he just told me to have them tow it. I said “I can’t even get it started - it won’t go out of park.” No help again. I finally contacted Tesla support (text only, by the way) through the app to get emergency tow service. They sent me a link so I could reset the dashboard. It didn’t work. Then I was informed there will be a two hour wait for the tow to come. All via text - no person talking to me. The emergency roadside assistance gentleman said I should get a friend to pick me up and bring me back out to the Tesla dealership.

When I got to the Chesterfield MO Tesla dealership, they seemed very casual about it. I told him I had been trying to reach the dealership to figure out about the tow and whether I should come back to the dealership myself and no one answered my call. He informed me, “Well, we had a lot of people in here about 20 minutes ago. We just couldn’t pick up the phone - it should have gone to the National line. I’m really sorry”. How is this Tesla service? I am appalled at the terror I had to experience because no one would talk me through what I needed to do. Horrible, horrible, frightening nightmare experience. Buyer beware!!!

First let me say I do not enjoy writing negative reviews as I too am a business owner but people should know about this. I do apologize about the length of this review. I had a delivery date of a MY on Feb 6th-one day prior I got a text saying the car would not be there then and moved the date till Feb 13th…OK there could have been logistics issues since it was a Fremont build…I get it. On the 13th I go to the Tysons Location to get the car. I was told once I went in the red door around the side, "Go inspect your car and if you like it accept it and drive away." I did inspect it and everything seemed fine except I noticed some issues with the paint that appeared to be under the clear coat.

I got a representative to come out and take pictures-It just so happened she was also in charge of the paint shop and made a ticket for me and said it would take 2-5 days. I left the car. Asked for Tesla to get an Uber as my wife came with me but had other commitments in Tysons. The representative said she would be in touch with me throughout the week to let me know how the repairs were going and possibly they might get the car fixed before 5 days. Yesterday I finally did get a VM from the Tesla representative that they did not have the issues straightened out and they were going to push the delivery date out. I looked in the app and it is now Feb 25th….Come on they can build one of these cars in like 1min.

I am fairly certain what happened was they did nothing and saw me on the delivery schedule for the next day and actually started to get these issues in motion to be fixed. The Tesla rep did not contact me during the week and only did the day before delivery. This review was earned and with this experience I would advise to pick up at a different location. Their QC at the Tysons location did not initially catch the very apparent paint issues and their response has been far from acceptable. Bad reviews are usually earned and they earned what is the lowest possible rating with behavior like this.

I proceeded to order the car and when it was delivered and I returned the old leased vehicle I received a bill for the remaining months on the old car that I no longer have. I now realize it's a scam to get people to hurry up and order new cars before the year ended. This is why they gave a 6,500 credit if you did this. Their sales were down and by any means necessary they reached out and persuaded people to order a new car. Who on earth would get into a new car and still pay off 6 months of the old car that you no longer have? This should have been disclosed to me when they reached out to me and told me I could get out of my current lease early. I have gotten out of multiple leased vehicles early over 20 years and if I am leasing another vehicle from the same company I do not pay off the remaining months of the old lease.

Tesla also made up wear and tear charges that eventually I made them take off the final bill. I reached out by phone multiple times to ask questions about the lease return and I was on hold almost 2 hrs. They purposely made it almost impossible to speak to someone. On Tesla app delivery schedule was showing Dec 30 - Dec 31 but the app delivery screen was saying "Check Back Later" {We will notify you when it's time to schedule your delivery appointment}. Since there were just 2 days, on Dec 30th I again went to Tesla Sunnyvale center (Miss Ida and the app was saying that this is where you need to pick your vehicle) just to make sure that nothing is waiting on me and how I can schedule delivery in time. The associate guy opened my app and let me login in my account and confirmed everything looks good and communicated that I can not decide delivery- schedule. It's someone from Tesla who will enable the delivery-schedule in app and then I can schedule my delivery. HAd to came back empty-handed.

After that my delivery-schedule screen on Tesla App shows exactly same message (Check Back Later). The only thing that was changing was Estimated Delivery dates {Dec 30 - Dec 31 ....then Dec 31 - Jan 5....then Jan 2- Jan 7....and today Jan 9 - Jan 16}. In the meantime my sales point of contact in Santana Row center (Miss Ida) says, I lost the year-end discount because I could not pick up the vehicle by Dec 31st. She acknowledges that I did everything right, not sure what went wrong. I am wondering how many of us experienced the same....Tesla was honest in the discount or it was marketing scam?

I even can not get a Tesla customer services email address to send in for following complaints. I took delivery of the new Tesla X on Dec. 23, 2022 which I bought in Feb. 2022. I am very upset about the delivery process. I think the follow delivery issues may worth for you to think about it:

    1. The car did not come with two key fobs. During my ordering time in Feb. 2022, salesperson Eric in the Brea mall store told me that the car comes with two key fobs as one of the features for Tesla premium model X. He also showed me the cool features for the key fob. This was part of the reason for me to decide to buy the model X. But the car did not come with two key fobs.

I told this dispute to the delivery person Eric, Mark and the manager Esteban at Riverside, California and also stated that the Tesla app today still shows the key fobs that come with the car. They said Tesla will not include key fobs from April 2022 after I bought the car. And Tesla did not have time to update the App for eight months. They also stated that the purchasing agreement I signed did not say the car came with any keys. So legally, they do not have to give me any keys. They said that I can buy the key fob for $175 each. This is very bad for Tesla to break the sales agreement and without letting the buyer know. I need these two key fobs because it was promised and as part of reasons to buy this car.

    2. The Car did not come with the basic charging cable. During my ordering time in Feb. 2022, salesperson Eric in the Brea mall store told me that the car comes with basic charging cable for Tesla premium model X. They said there was an email sent to me on the same day. The email offered a promo code for me to buy the basic cable for free. I did not know that. I asked if I could borrow a cable so I can charge the car before the new cable arrives later. They refused and said that I can buy the cable now but can not use the free promo code. Or I can go to Tesla charge stations to charge the car since my car comes with 10,000 mile free of charge. I told them that I installed a 240V wall charge plug eight months ago in my home. It is inconvenient for me to drive to Tesla station to charge. Esteban did not agree with my inconvenient reason to go to the Tesla charge station to charge the car. I still do not receive the charging cable today.

    3. The delivery person did not have any basic knowledge about the car. The delivery person did not know how to close the front trunk. I showed him how to close it. When I asked how to set up the garage door opening, they told me that I have to buy the special feature from Tesla. He basically wanted me to take the car and leave. No basic walkthrough.

    4. Delivery persons and Manager Esteban at Riverside CA delivery center do not have product, customer services and dispute training. It took one and half hours for Esteban to talk to his manager about my request, and then said no to everything I asked for. When I asked if he can write down his and other delivery persons name so I can state in my complaint letter, He said he can not write down his name, I can take note of myself, and he can not tell me the name of the person who just helped me to get the car because of the law. Esteban is full of ** in front of customers and his employees. They don't care about the customer experience and feelings.

    5. The car comes with many uneven panels in exterior and interior. The repair appointment is on Jan 11, 2023. I was kind of prepared for these issues since many Youtube videos showed. As a leading EV manufacturer, Tesla should not be famous for these kinds of poor workmanship. It gives customers a lot of inconvenience to receive and enjoy a new car.

    6. Till today, no one from Tesla offered a solution to my disputes. The next day, someone called me from the Riverside delivery center wanting to know how my experience was because I brought the flagship Tesla model. After learning of my above dismay, Eric from the Brea mall store also called me about the issues. They can not give me the two key fobs and only told me that the Riversed is a new center.

People buy Tesla because of its leading technology and brand. you leave a bad taste for not keeping promises and bad services. It will cost Tesla for these types of issues down the road. I have leased ten plus premium cars for my business in the past 20 plus years. I have never faced these type problems during delivery and wrote this type of complaint letter.

Tesla told me my long-awaited Model Y would arrive before year end. They asked me to make full payment and provide proof of insurance. I did. Then, a few minutes later, they adjusted my delivery a few days into January. Now, they want me to pay the $7,500 credit they provided because an ice storm caused delivery delays and caused the delivery date they provided to slip into 2023. On hold for 90 mins so far. Exchanged texts with an advisor but no one will call to explain my options to cancel. Ice storm was no one's fault but somehow, Tesla thinks they can build a brand by reneging on fully paid arrangements with their customers.

Tesla has provided the absolute worst level of customer experience I have ever had. They moved my delivery date multiple times which was fine when I was notified. Then before the final date they sent me a request for documents which I provided in time. When I showed up the next day to the delivery appointment, they told us the car wasn't ready and that it was the responsibility of the other department to notify me of delivery date changes. At this point I cancelled the order. On the way home the delivery manager called me on the way home to let me know that I was right and had provided what they needed but the person who was reviewing did not see this.

I assumed that they would return the money as stated in their purchase agreement to me and to the bank that provided financing. They provided me a refund of my security deposit within ~10 days but still have not provided my bank back the financing. I have called numerous times, waiting on hold for hours, been told my all manner of different people at Tesla that this was actively being resolved. I would not recommend anyone complete a major purchase with this company. I can't imagine how poor the customer service experience must be once you actually own the car.

Once upon a time you could speak to people and get actual help when you called or emailed and now it's gone to poop, not to use the actual term I want to use. It's truly a shame because it's this lack of help that will definitely keep me from ever endorsing Tesla to anyone. This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had buying a new car. As soon as we arrived for our afternoon appointment we were unable to find any sort of parking. We drove around the lot multiple times and finally parked in front of another vehicle hoping they would not need to leave before us. Finally we get into the dealership and WOW it was like stepping back into the twilight zone. I assumed they were under renovations by how terrible the inside looked. The sales associate told me they had been in this location since 2018 exactly how it looked today. Absolutely ridiculous that a trillion dollar company can’t even afford a basic lounge area for its customers and employees. The poor employees. You can tell they get a lot of heat for the condition this place is in.

I would absolutely hate to work here. We were expecting a luxury experience from the all known TESLA, but seriously would have been better off at a Kia dealership. If you want luxury this isn’t it! Elon Musk DO BETTER!! This was a catastrophe! Oh and to top it off our new car wasn’t even fully charged. :) Just plain embarrassing at this point. Do yourself a favor and purchase a Tesla anywhere else. Oh and don’t bring your kids here, this is anything but accommodating for families with little ones. Glad that’s over and we never have to step foot in there again.

I was really excited to sign up for the annual premium connectivity subscription that Tesla rolled out last year in an effort to save a little money. At the time, I owned a Model 3 and was waiting on my new Model Y to arrive. It took about 9 or 10 months to get my new Model Y at which point I sold my Model 3. I had only had the annual premium connectivity subscription for about 3 months. I assumed - no biggie, I'm sure Tesla will just automatically transfer the subscription to my new Model Y. Well, that didn't happen so then I figured, I should be able to go into the app and transfer it myself. Nope, that didn't work either. Upon calling Tesla, I was informed that premium connectivity is "non-transferrable". What this means is ... even if you paid for a year and have time left on that subscription (I had 9 months left on mine), you lose that money if you buy a new Tesla because they won't transfer it to the new Tesla.

Finding this out was pretty infuriating, but what was even more infuriating was finding out that the NEW owner of my Model 3 also doesn't get the benefit of the remaining 9 months of premium connectivity that I paid for because, when the Tesla transfers ownership, the premium connectivity is cancelled! So, in my case Tesla is literally pocketing $80 and providing no product in return to me OR the new owner of the car I sold. This is highway robbery. To think that this billionaire CEO is ripping people off in this way is really sickening. To top it off, this is my 3rd Tesla. I've sworn by this car over the years, but now with this 3rd purchase the vehicle just isn't worth it anymore with so many other EV's hitting the market. I paid 90k for this car and it doesn't have center console organizers (that used to come standard) or Homelink (that used to come standard) or carpet for the frunk (that used to come standard). This will definitely be my last Tesla.

The driver seat is extremely poorly made and not good for tall people. There have been a number of software glitches already. Worst of all is the customer service. All the people have treated me as if they are doing me a favor by even engaging with me. In my opinion, Tesla is extremely overrated. I will end up selling this car and taking the loss. If you think that you might be interested in a Tesla, do a huge amount of due diligence up front; the salespeople will be less than helpful. There's an overall attitude that their cars are so special that customer service is abhorrent. I will take my business to a car manufacturer who actually treat customers better.

My Tesla model 3 struck a small animal going 50 miles as it suddenly crossed the street causing a minor dent on the front fender and with that the park assist and front sensors got damaged. Made an appointment on the app and was scheduled within a week for someone to come do it where parked a day or a few days. Before the app I was requested for photos which I provided. I was then advised it cannot be done at home and need to bring the vehicle in to service center. The earliest convenient date for me was a month later. I brought in the vehicle. The facia was changed. Since I owned the vehicle for over 48 months and out of warranty no vehicle replacement or transportation was provided. The car was ready the end of the day and presumably the sensors were fixed, after about a 1700 dollar bill.

I drove the vehicle home and the sign came on. Park assist is not working. I tried calling but it was after hours so I made another appointment to get it fixed. The appointment was confirmed and the app sent me another estimate of about 300 dollars. I called the following day to talk to the service department. They said it was covered since I just had the work done and the next earliest convenient appointment for me was another month away and today I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment time. Was told to wait as I am early. The service person that finally attended me was 15 minutes later than my appointment time. I decided to wait for the work to be done, he told me he would expedite it for me and 6 hours later I am still in the waiting area at the time of writing this review. Two full days to get the job done that should have been done the first time around.

I had a problem in 2020 or 9 mos. in when the driver seat would flatten out every time I got in and out of the car and on two occasions when I was driving the vehicle. Then I could not get into the service center. It was during Covid and I remained patient. It took 3 months to finally get into the service department in Costa Mesa which they fixed the problem. However, a new problem occurred. While my car was serviced my personal belongings we gone through and a bag with expensive equipment was taken from my car. Tesla Management would not comment or cooperate with requests for security data. I documented the theft with a complaint with Costa Mesa Police Department.

When my lease term was up I approached Tesla to return the vehicle for instructions. I got no responses for weeks. I did extend the lease for 30 days because I simply did not have information to return the car. Tesla continued to charge me for the vehicle and claimed in an email that the return process would be conducted online whereas I had to take pictures of the car and wait. This took 3 weeks again all the while no communication from Tesla. You cannot call Tesla unless you are buying a product. There is no customer service lines for help, all lines circle back to the website which resolve nothing or the App on the phone that resolves nothing. Tesla Employees do not respond to emails for days or weeks in some cases. That is unless you are buying. It took me months to return a simple lease that left me agitated several time a week. I bought a new Y Tesla, before I reach 150 miles my right back tire blew out on a straight away on the highway without warning. I had my service set the next morning to fix a few defects on the car from my purchase 5 days earlier. I had to tow the car to Tesla (paid almost 70k) and they wanted me to pay 1600 to fix the car and told me otherwise come get it. They said something went off in the screen that said low pressure in that tire and I drove for 2 min. We heard a sound that we thought was from another car but never expected it was from our band new car. Been driving for 50 Yrs and never had a flat tire while driving. How I could get a blow out with a brand new tire going straight on a highway is beyond me. I hope Tesla decides to help with this defective car. With all the tax incentives they received they should be able to provide a car that works for a week.

Tesla customer service claims this may be due to my driving style. Grand Prix, who actually put on the new tires, said the car was out of alignment hence why the tires went so quickly. Of course, Tesla customer service refuses to accept it. I have never hit a curb or drive aggressively to effect the alignment.

I ordered a 2022 Tesla Model 3 for delivery in California. After waiting 9 months, I arranged to pick up the vehicle in Marina Del Rey California, even though I intended to have it registered in my home state of Illinois. When the time for delivery arrived, the Tesla delivery people began making up stories about laws that prevented me from registering the car in Illinois. When I tell them that I have done so twice in the past year they go silent. First, they told me that I would have to pay the full sales tax twice, once in California and then a second time in Illinois. Then they tried telling me that if I didn't drive the car to Illinois and register it within 72 hours I was in big trouble.

When I tried to explain that it was not possible to drive from California to Illinois and register the vehicle within 72 hours, they threatened to cancel the sale. There was no truth to any of this, they were just making it up as they went along because they were young, inexperienced, and making decisions about things they knew nothing about. When pressed to identify a rule or law requiring these ridiculous things, they said they didn't have to because they are Tesla. This was without a doubt the worst new car delivery experience I have ever had.

I am now at the point of dumping my Tesla stock and continuing my long and satisfying history of buying a new Mercedes or Audi. BTW, I bought both a Mercedes and an Audi in California within the past year, registered both in Illinois, and had no such problems whatsoever. The Tesla delivery manager (Alexander) just makes up whatever story he finds convenient that day. His real title should be the "Sales Prevention Manager." By the actions of the Tesla Delivery Team you would think that Tesla believes that they can do and say anything, no matter how outrageous, because people simply must have one of their cars, no matter what. False again. I'm done with Tesla.

We own a Tesla Model 3 2022 for about 9 months now. The car itself is good so far. The problem is on customer support. My wife got a flat tire today at 7pm at night, and she called me. At first I told her to call AAA. But then I googled, to my surprise, Tesla cars do not have spare tires. The roadside support page sent us to "roadside assistance" option on the app. The app responded "help is on the way", but we sat and waited for 50 minutes before they responded with a text. (There was no sign on the app that our request for assistance progressed anywhere, or if anyone is tending the request at all, during that entire 50 minutes. We got impatient and looked for a phone number to call, but there was not any live person to help anywhere!).

An agent responded (on text, after 50 minutes) asking for the size of the tire (shouldn't they know the size of the tire for the car already?). I asked my wife to look for tire size (took her a while to get the size) and texted back to the agent. He/She responded back with "If Tesla come and patch the tire, if it's patchable, it would be $121, or if the tire is not patchable then the tire is $355 to replace". OK, I said, "How long would it take for you to come and fix the tire." "About 1 hour", they responded. "Then tow the car home for us," I asked. "Also about an hour", they responded.

At this time my wife had already waited for more than 1 hour, the time was 8:20pm. I won't bore you with the rest of the evening, but you get the picture. If Tesla decides not to put spare tires in their vehicles, then their roadside assistance has to be much better than this. Having to wait 2 hours at night to resolve a simple flat tire is just unacceptable. If I am to extrapolate my experience to other services provided by the company, I would think twice about buying their cars.

I have sent about 30 emails and called many times, but Tesla does not have a real person that answers any of their phones, and I had to leave voicemails.

In reply to one of my emails, I finally received a return call from Giselle Acosta, a Lease Maturity Specialist, and she explained that there was some kind of mixup in their system, and when I returned the car, my billing account did not get automatically closed as it should have and that is why I got charged for another month. I called and left another voicemail but could not speak to a real person, and no one called me back. I sent another email saying I want my money back immediately because it's not my fault they made some kind of mistake and I need the money. I got a reply email saying this: "Any overpayment will go towards your excess wear and tear as well as your end-of-term charges." I replied and said it was not an overpayment! They fraudulently charged me for a car I had already returned, and I want my money back now.

I have not heard back or received my refund, and I still can't talk to anyone at Tesla about all of the problems. It's hard for me to believe it is legal for a company to charge me $568 for something I didn't get, and while I do understand mistakes happen, the fact that I cannot talk to anyone about the problem on the phone and they have not refunded me makes the whole thing look very scammy.

I have owned a Tesla for 4 years so I have a lot of experience with the service centers. First, you are unlikely to have one near where you live. For me the closest is 30 miles away and it used to be even farther. Second, you can ONLY schedule and communicate with them via texting within the Tesla app. This makes communication cryptic and challenging at best. Reps almost never identify themselves by name so no accountability. They typically only give morning appointments and tell you it will be ready at or near closing time. They only provide loaners when the work is under warranty but even then only based in availability. They do offer “mobile service” which comes to your home.

They have done that multiple times for me but in all but one instance the mobile tech was unable to repair and had to schedule a second appointment at the service center. One time I asked for a tire rotation and balance. They scheduled me for mobile service, rotation only. I asked about balance and the response was they couldn’t do that with mobile service. They didn’t even offer to reschedule at a service center so I canceled the appointment and went to a local tire store. Whenever I deal with them they are always arrogant and unapologetic even when thing go sideways. I guess none of this should be surprising considering the example set by the CEO.

I could not open the car to get my wallet out of it… what if it had been my kid stuck inside? I could not get a hold of an actual human to speak with, only could communicate on their own time through text or the app. Finally, my car was towed 100 miles from my home. No one called me, no mention of a rental. No response in the app. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I have a concern with my Tesla service. In February of this year, I brought my car in for a squeak emanating from the driver front wheel when the suspension articulates. I booked a service and the service team found there to be an issue with the upper control arms and they were replaced on the left and right on the front. Recently, when I summoned the vehicle, I found the front inner tires to be bald in the inside and have depth remaining on the outside. I booked another service and brought the vehicle in on Saturday, August 13th, 2022. The service advisor and a service tech told me that the tires worn normally, and the inner edge wore due to “the cars normal turning,” but also, “the car was not aligned on a normal basis.” The inner edge of the tire on both the front wheels is bald on the inside, and has thread left on the outer edge. I have pictures of this.

I found this information provided by the service center to be odd since they’re saying there is an issue, but there isn’t. I asked them what was found when the vehicle was aligned in February when the control arms were installed. The supervisor told me the car was not aligned. I asked why the invoice states that it was and where the alignment report was. They said they did not have it, but also wouldn’t tell me whether it was aligned or not. I then told them I want to talk to a manager and was told that the supervisor is the only one available to talk to. The service pick up time was then moved from 3 to 5 to 6 to the next day. I was told I can come by and pick a loaner. I got the loaner and went home.

On Aug 15th, I was told the car is available for pick up. The invoice on the app said the car was checked for alignment and did not need it. I said I would come by, but I need to talk to a manager. The same supervisor picked up and she said she doesn’t have anyone available. I then said I’ll come by when the manager is there and pick up my car. I was told I would have to pay a late fee on the loaner. I said I’m not going to drop the car off, fork over the 2000 dollars for new tires I did not want to buy from Tesla and not have any satisfactory answer, especially after being told Saturday that I did not maintain the car and that’s why the tires worn unevenly. The supervisor agreed and said the tires were worn unevenly, but the car did not need alignment, despite that being the reason for uneven wear. I’m lost.

Why would I pay tesla a premium to change my tires when they’re HUNDREDS of dollars cheaper at every tire shop near me. Also, why did my tires wear unevenly if the car didn’t need alignment? Why was I told this was a result of normal wear and tear when it resulted after control arms were replaced DIRECTLY prior to this issue occurring?

I got second opinions from fellow auto engineers in the industry and came across the same viewpoint: why does the invoice state alignment is required when control arms are changed? Was it then done? If so, where’s the report? If it wasn’t needed, as the current invoice states, why did the tires wear unevenly? Why was I made to spend so much money when my root problem was not solved? What is going on?

Purchased a new, Y in July 2020 from Telsa, Dedham, MA. To my surprise, it came with 450 miles on the odometer, apparently someone purchased and returned it or they gave it to someone to drive. Tesla ignored my written complaint about it. They didn't even bother to erase the GPS info. Then 2 months later, I received notice that for $2000, they will essentially unlock the vehicle's potential for greater acceleration. Vehicle came w/ a 50K mile warranty, just before it expired, the climate control was faltering and it failed. When we brought it to them (2 weeks after booking an appointment) with 50,750 miles. Despite that there was a real question as to whether the a/c failed before the 50,000 miles, they stuck us with nearly a $4,000.00 bill for it. Also they charged us an additional $750 for failed struts that they originally told us would be warrantied.

Their service department is also the very worst, they NEVER answer the telephone (this has happened over 5 times). If you want to schedule an appointment, you must do it, online, several weeks in advance regardless of the problem with the car. I once asked, in 2020, the service manager why won't they answer their telephone? He told me that their carpet cleaner had damaged their phones (clearly not true). Once they give you your car and take your money, they clearly don't want to hear from you or see you again. I owned several luxury vehicles before I brought a Tesla and have never been treated so poorly.

Telsa does not back up its products (in light of the foregoing), They are the vehicular equivalent of the "Soup Nazi" from the Steinfeld TV show. It is unfortunate because their vehicles have real potential to be a great product. Telsa's failure to back up its products and outrageously poor customer service destroys the value of its vehicles. We may have saved on gas, but were "screwed" by Telsa's failure to back up its products (even after only two years post-purchase). The outrageous and infuriatingly poor service was the final straw. I will NEVER buy another Tesla. I still like EVs, but I will shop elsewhere.

I have had a few issues with my Y since taking ownership in December 2021. With each of these it has been cumbersome and difficult to communicate with the service team. Their app is terrible and it is the only way to contact the service department.
    1. They do not respond when adding a note/text to your appointment in the app.
    2. They arbitrarily cancel appointments 24 hours before without notification.
    3. You cannot make more than 1 appointment. This is sometimes necessary when you are waiting for a part and have something else go wrong.
    4. When you bring it in, it is not looked at for hours. For me, I found out the next day, that they couldn't fix it because they didn't have parts.
    5. They do NOT provide loaner cars or rentals. The best you can hope for is an UBER credit for 24 hours.
    6. No one answers the phone in service. If you hit sales you can get someone, but they can only contact service through the app. Service never replies.

    7. You have to drive to their center to confirm if they can indeed fix your issue.

The nature of the damage is such that it is obvious that they did something with the doors, it seems that they hit the hinges and bolts with a hammer or like this, BUT the question is why? When I asked the dealer what exactly they did with this NEW car, the answer is that they do not know, probably on factory. As a result, they offer me to repair a NEW car which worth almost $ 70,000.

I don't even have words to describe my disappointment and horror of what is happening. I pay 70000 for a NEW car and I get a car with obvious and intentional damages and absolutely unclear reasons for these damages. I feel like my family safety is at stake because I don't understand what exactly was done to this car. I was not offered to change the car. I was not offered even discount. I see that tesla doesn’t want to change this car but I bought it as NEW and Tesla offers me to REPAIR intentionally damaged NEW car? So they sold me not new car but intentionally damaged. I have never before felt so regretful that I traded my beautiful BMW X5 for this car of dubious quality more expensive than a BMW. Terrible experience! The bad, well, I got the T3 awd extended range version, and one thing people don't say openly is that this car doesn't do well in either cold or hot. Take the stated range and divide it by three in cold or hot weather. The EV future is a joke for now, and I can say that the plug-in hybrids make more sense with smaller batteries and less chance of a single cell failure. You only need one cell in that big 75kw package to reduce the performance of the whole battery. On the safety side, I suggest you check an EV fire, and you will see it is a chain reaction of cells overheating with flammable gases, an awful way to go.

Holy smokes, getting service for a Model S is worse than getting your teeth drilled. I expected way more for a $100,000 car, and at every step, the process of scheduling and receiving service significantly sours my ownership experience. I have a suggestion.... At Tesla, maybe there needs to a greater investment in human capital, some better lessons in customer service, and some process improvement in how to perform closed-loop communication. Sometimes text sessions through the app just don't cut it.

If you happen to need service, the app is the only way to schedule an appointment or interface with your service technician, which by the way, is a complete disaster. Need the next appointment? Try 4 weeks. And when the repair isn't right, there is no phone number to call for follow-up service and no chat session that hasn't been closed out, so you just have to crash the party at the dealership with a dead computer and say, "Here I Am!"

Getting emergency roadside assistance is a long process that requires hours of investment, too, so get comfy, you'll be waiting. Flat tire? Good luck getting them to answer the app on the first try -- they texted and called the wrong phone number and then proceeded to delete the emergency request with no followup in the app other than to have the request disappear. Good job, team. So much for using the app. Try to make a phone call to the emergency assistance number listed on the dashboard? 20+ minutes on hold. Be sure you're the primary driver or have them immediately available, otherwise you just have to try your luck at the App again. Need a tow because they don't provide a spare, sell run-flat tires, or have an available loaner wheel to dole out? That's another hour.

In two years and 25,000 miles of ownership, in addition to small wear & tear items, we have had service for post-delivery residue (who sells a luxury car that needs splotches removed from the steering wheel and seats?!), a one month-long service call to replace the MCU computer (in the shop for a month!), and a flat tire that left us roadside in Newton for hours waiting for action. From start to finish, Tesla could use some good lessons on customer service from Mercedes, BMW and Audi. Elon Musk, you can do better.

Drop in Tesla Model S battery mileage capacity from 260 to 200 after field service. At this point I am a hugely concerned customer. It has already resulted in 8 calls and repeats of issue replanation on every call AND absolutely no correction. After my tesla service at Eatonville FL on Feb 17 and 18 of May 2022, my tesla is showing maximum battery capacity of only 200 miles. At some times I have charged even 250 miles. However now I can max charge only 200 miles and frankly it gets extremely slow at 160 miles that I actually cannot charge anymore.

My last remote service person (Ryan) told me that the battery health check didn’t find anything wrong and said that software is reading it wrong. But he didn't give any root cause as to whether a particular patch of software is causing this? He didn't give any eta on when I can get my original charging capacity back. Most frustrating experience, No root cause, No ETA. Ryan was only interested in closing the appt. Called Customer service desk 5/24, spoke with Courtney. Said that Service manager from Tesla field service will call me in 24 hours - Nobody called.

On May 24 I also created an appt to diagnose the car issue. Called Tesla service center on 5/25 - Ask for Spencer, Got Megan. Megan was acting like robot. With this many trips, the customer service center is tired of seeing us, and the feeling is mutual. The service is always horrible, and they say use the app, but the app is like waiting for the cable guy...you never know when they'll respond or show up. Once I had to wait why a service guy was working on his own car, not a Tesla, to finish fixing his car before I could ask a question. (I have the pictures to prove it.)

They used to offer a loaner car if yours was being fixed and that is not the case anymore, but they'll give you Uber credits in the middle of a pandemic which is transferred by being in a confined space, nowadays masked or unmasked. I don't know how they teach the customer service reps to just smile and say we're keeping your car for 3 days when the job only takes 3 hours. " oh, well a couple of team members are out sick so we're short handed." This excuse has happened on our last 4 trips to the service center, and they were different service center but the same word for word line.

Our car is great when it works but we bought it under the impression the warranty and the car should be an amazing experience with little issues for years. Unfortunately we are spending an average of $4,000 a year on repairs and nothing seems to be covered under the warranty. Driving it now seems like a worry, as we know something else is going to go wrong soon and it'll be another $1,000 or more. I don't know how Tesla can say they have the best customer service when I hear from other owners in the waiting room at the service centers say the exact same thing, "we love the car when it works". That is not a good slogan. I think it would have cost us an extra $5,000 for the extended warranty and so far it probably would have saved us at least $10,000 but we didn't think we needed it. Buyer beware, it's a great car when it works, but buy the extended warranty because you'll need it.

Also, the car runs comfort control whether you want it to or not while it is sitting idle which runs the battery down. Tried everything to shut it off but there seems to be no way to do that. Constantly getting alarms going off while driving saying something like take control, but the lettering is so small and it goes away so quickly you cannot read it. Like to turn that off also.

Today it locked us out from Bluetooth entry. Just cut us out of the account, no amount of trying to sign back in works, tried on both phones. Asked to send us new password, nothing ever came. I know the info is correct because we can log into the website on our PC but not on the phones. Have to use the credit card key now. Lots of things to love, except for freeway steering handles curves really well, acceleration is great, great sound system, very quiet, solid feel, very good visibility.

To whom it my concern. Hello everyone, I had purchased a 2017 Model 3. When I first bought it had a lot of scratches on the Tesla. They were great by fixing it. On February 1 2022 at a four way stop sign car took off itself. Stopped at the middle of intersection for no reason since February until today. No answer as of yet. Then my park sensor fills out. I only had the car for four months. Tesla told my to make a appointment. Yesterday then they cancel again. On the app you load pictures they did not get it. Crazy. Now I have to pay $91.00 to fix it. Their customer service is very rude. Also why they do not record their calls because they are hiding something. If I can give 0 star I would.

I live in Texas and have owned a 2021 Model Y for about 6 months. I am using FSD. FSD is completely different from what is known. It's a scam. In particular, FSD cannot be used locally. I'm ready to die and I don't know if I'll use it, so it accelerates without reducing speed in sharp braking cornering. Recommended if you like roller coasters. Just buy life insurance.

Turn left and turn right??.. like a slug walking... Then, suddenly, it accelerates and, most importantly, it goes well, and then suddenly the brake suddenly becomes bright. Even when there is no car in front of you. If you happen to have a car behind you, the fear is immense. I almost got into an accident with the car behind me, so I can't use it at all. The brake brightness is not just a sudden brake, it is bright enough to blow the body forward. It's not just me, it's the same for everyone around me who uses FSD.

People who are Tesla YouTubers get really sick of it... It's all lies. Mileage is different from indicated and very short. The Model Y Long is marked over 300 miles, but... Actual usable distance on the highway without regenerative restart is less than 250 miles. To conserve battery life at the low and high capacity limits, the usable range is actually around 150 miles. Therefore, it is very inconvenient to travel long distances because it needs to be charged frequently. I don't know the mileage using regenerative regeneration locally.

I own a Tesla Model X and when it functions, it is a great vehicle. The issue is when something goes wrong. There is no easy way to contact their service department. The phone lines automatically ask us to handle anything via the app. And the app frequently closes tickets that aren't even resolved. I had paid for an extended warranty on my vehicle and it has been more than 7 weeks and it is yet to be applied to my account. I have spent hours of time trying to reach someone "responsible" who can provide me an update, ETA and/or resolution on when the warranty would be applied to my account. End result - zero progress.

If I call their 1-800 number, they have started not even taking my calls. By chance, if someone picks up, they ask me to contact the service center for updates. And by change if I get someone from the service center on a phone, they either ask me to call their 1-800 number or tell me they are actively working but have not updates or ETA and cannot keep me updated either. And over all of that, they claim to be a non-luxury car company. No car company can claim that and charge upwards of $100k for a vehicle. This is simply outrageous!

I bought my 2013 Model S from its 2nd owner at 98k miles after lots of research reaffirming that maintenance cost was low and reliability was high. I actually loved my car, drove smoothly and quietly, but then I didn’t even reached 120k miles on it when the high voltage battery completely died on me. I parked one day at work with 80% charge and got out from work to find the battery completely drained to the point of not even starting or being able to put into neutral to push it to a charging stall. I left the car plugged in using 3 extension cords for the entire weekend (still at my job’s parking lot) and it didn’t take any charge at all and never turned back on again. I towed it to the nearest Tesla service center and after over a week they told me the battery had completely died and it needed full replacement to the tune of $23k (the car’s average value in the best condition possible and long range trim is ~$26k).

I asked about warranty coverage and they told me I was out (over 100k miles and just at the 8 year mark). I asked hypothetically if I had the money for the repair what their warranty would be and they said 50k miles on the battery only. The message is: DON’T BUY USED TESLAS but if you do make sure you’re still within the warranty period. GET RID OF THE CAR BEFORE THE FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRES, after that all bets are off, it may very well become a bottomless money pit. DON’T EVER BUY A TESLA WITH NEW BATTERY thinking that it’s like buying a new car - it isn’t, you’re only covered for 50k miles on a fresh battery - completely wasteful and senseless.

It’s a great, fun, and classy car while the warranty lasts (service is great and at no cost for warranty covered items, no questions asked). But once out of warranty you’re all on your own. They wouldn’t even buy it back from me for parts - terrible customer service (when things went south) that leaves much to be desired from such reputable brand.

Communication and logistics of delivery for new cars is horribly broken for this company. I ordered my car in May of 2021. I was promised a delivery date of early October 2021. Since then Tesla moved my EDD some 9-10 times moving few days, or weeks or months in some cases and the car is still not delivered. Even with supply chain problems, a company not able to predict the EDD in ballpark of actual deliver timeline is really sad. Additionally, people with orders 3 months later than mine have received the car.

This company is also fraud for giving false delivery estimates. Today, an order of Model S on Tesla website shows EDD (estimated delivery date) of Jun 2022! With a 10-month-old order still pending this EDD is fake. This is daylight fraud to attract customers. Can it be worse, yes! Customer service is poor. Sales Agents have no idea for delays and give made-up reasons. When I called central customer service, I got a callback after 2 hrs. The rep couldn't hear me so dropped the call and never called back! Very dissatisfied customer!

    1) Tesla model Y is good, saves me gas money.

    2) Climate control in advance thru app is good.

    Bad:
    1) 100 miles roundtrip consumes 140 miles of battery (not joking).
    2) It doesn't start in cold weather. Tesla Dealer Customer Rep told me that it's a known problem. It happened to couple of our friends also. Poor people got stuck 50 miles away and had to Uber back home.
    3) published as SUV but feels like car.

    4) Service appointments (scheduled 2 months in advance) are cancelled just 8 hours before. You can't do anything about it.

I've owned the car for a little over 1 year now. It's not perfect, but what car is? I've had some trouble getting in, where the car isn't picking up my phone key. The worst is, not reaching the destination based on the range provided. Yeah, they tell you it's about your speed, the elevation, the weight and the civilization. Well, what can I say but be weary, especially when you're traveling. You'll be losing (charging) about 15-45 minutes of your time, while the fuel customer is long gone by the time you're finished. If you're travelling abroad, you're adding HOURS to your traveling.

My max range now is 290 miles, and believe me, that's wishful thinking. When I use Tesla trip, I select the performance to get a more accurate range measurement since that model range matches my LR now. Now, the price of the same car and technology is $14,000 more than what I got it for a year ago? It's not worth it! I feel sorry for the people who thought that they might have a chance to afford, but now, the dream of owning a tesla now is long gone. Greed, it's the root of all evil.

I placed an order for a Tesla Model S in July of 2021. Initial delivery date was set to November, 2021, however this kept changing to December 2021, March 2022, to September 2021 to October 2021 to unexpectedly December 2022. I tried calling local shops, my sales person and everyone referred me to the delivery date on the Tesla app. No one would even confirm since they are not able to see my order information and the date changes dynamically. And one day I was randomly in December 2021 I notified that my car was ready for pick-up and was parked in a specific parking spot at the local dealership.

I make my way to the dealership and there she was, I was happy to see it. The instructions from Tesla said, once payment has been made, the tesla app will allow me to open the car and drive it away, the key fobs were already placed in the car. I was paying cash for the car, over $100K, but ran into an issue with the tesla app, after long troubleshooting efforts by the local employees, it was determined that there was a technical problem with making payment, I was asked to come back with a cashiers check. I was flabbergasted, really?? Then about 3 hours after I had left the dealership, the sales people called me and said, there was a problem with paying using android phone, but if I wanted, I could go back and they would process a manual ACH. So I retuned later the same day, made payment then drove the car home.

I did an inspection when I got home and reported a number of quality control problem from interior panels not aligned, to cigarette lighter not working to dashboard not aligned to distorted windows, paint chips, vein in driver airbags, screen freezing all the time, etc. Dropped the car off to the local dealership, but repairs are taking a lot time due to parts shortage. Also, being this car is so new, most of the technicians don't really know what's causing some of the problem I'm running into.

A month later I took a road trip from SF, CA to Utah and most of the time I didn't get anywhere near the 405 miles of range as advertised. Mostly freeway driving between 75 to 85/90 MPH and got around ~250 miles on a 100% charge, this was quite disappointing and increased range anxiety especially when I was in rural areas as well as off major highways. There is not enough destination chargers either in most of the American southwest once you are off major interstates. And the yoke, is a joke really...this things look cool, but the functionally sucks, is it not intuitive, especially the turn signal and honk. I found myself hitting the airbag on the middle of the steering wheel only to find out the horn is a small haptic button to the right of it, not easy to find and use.

I find that to operate simple things like radio, climate controls as well as turn signals, it requires too much eyes off the road when driving. I would prefer a regular steering wheel with turn signals and other adjustments like folding mirrors, steering wheel adjustments, glovebox were manually operated rather than going into the screen to operate. Overall interior quality is nothing impressive for the price, lacking details for a luxury car. It's defiantly fast and but lack of range and $35 per supercharger fill-up for 250 miles, it is not really saving you THAT much in gas, but it is a little. I would say I was really looking forward to this car, it looks great on paper, but fairly well disappointed in the overall purchase experience as well subsequent build quality and range anxiety remains real.

The good first: Incredible performance and handling. The torque is outrageously fast and it takes turns very well. Plenty of sitting room inside for a large man. I am 6 foot 4 inches and 285 lbs.

    The bad:

    1. It is not meant for cold weather. When at a 90% charge to drive 60 miles round trip in the winter and the charge was at 39%.

    2. I was told only cost $10 - $14/charge at a supercharger. FALSE! The average is actually $23/charge. If charging at home I was told maybe adds $8/month to your electric bill. FALSE! It added $55 for the month of January. I paid $80 to fill my Audi, but it could sit for 2 weeks or more before the next fill. Can't do that with a Tesla. The charge diminishes even when idle, add the cold elements and it much worse.

    3. Tesla Charging stations is really the only way to go because the standard destination chargers you need to wait many hours and keeping it plugged in at home you are greatly adding to your electric bill. The issue is the fees are twice as much as I was told and MUCH more frequently to charge. Lastly, they have a Super Charger finder but when searching it says "Super Charger location" but IT'S NOT! It is usually a destination station nearby. I found myself stopping at 3 or 4 places before I found a true SC station.

    4. If you are a big person, you will get very frustrated with the padding of the butt on the car seat. After 2 weeks I felt the frame of the seat poking up hitting my rear.

    5. Hardware is cheap. Very light aluminum that clanks when shutting the doors.

I love the product but despise the service. If your Tesla breaks down, ha! Good luck, you are on your own. As I traveled on I-75 N towards Atlanta I hit a metal object on the road and busted the rim and tire. I safely pulled off the hwy into a gas station and requested road assistance from Tesla. They dispatch a towing truck but I had to wait two hours for the next available “authorized” towing service.

My car was towed to the closest Tesla service center in Decatur. Tesla couldn’t find a tire and a rim in their entire inventory. They kept my car for days unable to tell me when the flat can be fixed. A tire and a rim. The entire Tesla organization did not have a spare tire and rim for their most popular vehicle. I finally decide after days have gone by to visit the service center to figure out how to resolve the problem. Keep in mind that I live in Florida and I am stranded in Decatur, Georgia. I had rented a car because Tesla does not offer you a loaner. Instead they issue you Uber vouchers which in my case that never did. They said they would but lied and that did not happened.

Anyway, I was told at the service that the only way to have my car back was for me to go and find a tire (the exact tire) from a third party. However, without a rim how can I go buy a tire on my own? Finally, an employee suggested he would go to the back to see if he can find a used rim for my model (Model Y) and he did. Tesla excellent service (lol) gave me the used rim and sent off to chase a tire. Yep, that’s what you get when you spend $62K with Tesla.

After much search, I found a small tire shop only half a block away from the Tesla service center. I spent $400 on a tire that was exactly like the tires on my Tesla. This small shop told me that the Tesla center always send people to them for tires. In my case the Tesla center never mentioned that I could find a tire there, and why? After having my car in their shop Tesla never called this shop to see if they had the tire. Tesla did **! for me. When I brought the rim and tire back to the Tesla center they did not installed the tire sensor and simply sent me off with the damaged rim, the damaged tire, and a car showing faulty sensor on my control center.

Tesla told me that they will keep the ticket service open so that when “your brand new rim and tire” come I can bring my car back to complete the service and fix the problem. Three more months went by and never heard from Tesla. I, again, had to request a third appointment to fix the problem. I’m writing this review in the waiting lobby of the Kennesaw Tesla service center where I now have to wait 4-5 hours to get the sensor fix and check the integrity of the used rim and tire I had installed three monarch ago. By the way, the attending person here showed no notes, conversation, photos, of my previous interactions with Tesla. He had no records at all but I did in my Tesla app.

Folks, the car is phenomenal and I am happy driving a model y Tesla. Be warned though, Tesla service the poorest service ever! Joe’s used car dealer down the street will have better service than the luxury brand called Tesla. When I pull away from today’s service, I am selling my Tesla and I will bring my $ to another brand that can provide service to its customers.

Only to get locked out of your account online, which you can't get back into by simply resetting your password because the two-factor authentication isn't working and there's no customer support number posted to help you out. Then when you do call, it takes about four people to ultimately help you get back in to finally discover, HEY! Your car is arriving sooner than expected! Great news!!! So, you rush to have your charger installed in your garage, get your insurance ready for the new car and arrange to sell your old car in time for the 10-day window they give you for pick up.

Next, you follow the checklist of deliverables on your end, by uploading your proof of insurance based on the VIN they gave you for the new car, to which they inform you that someone will reach out soon to set up the delivery date... which, never seems to happen. So, you wind up calling them to find out why no one has called you 5 days into this 10-day window. And when you do finally speak to someone, they tell you, "Oh, that VIN doesn't even exist. You have no car coming." To which I naturally respond "WHAT?!?!" I just raced to have an electrician install the charger and sold my old car to now have nothing?!? And the response is simply. "Yeah, sorry."

No loaner. No solutions offered. And the best they can do is elevate the case so maybe I'll get the car in two or three MONTHS!!! MAYBE!!! Naturally, I ask so speak to a supervisor, and four days later, not a single call. No accountability whatsoever. So sad. I really had higher hopes for this company but they are amongst the worst customer experiences I've ever had, and I haven't even gotten the car yet!

Bought this Tesla Y Model. On 3rd day, battery died, Tesla said it's not covered, asked for $1,500 to fix battery and coil. This is on the 3rd day of driving the car. If the battery isn't covered on a Tesla, what is covered? Their customer service is a bunch of morons who talk to you like machines. Their customer service skills are the worst we've ever experienced. Stay away from Tesla, the car is not worth it. Wait for a reputable company like Mercedes, BMW, Ford or Toyota and buy their electric vehicle. Tesla is a piece of crap in every sense of the word. Don't fall for the hype or the stock increase. It's a disastrous product to say the least.

My 2020 Tesla Model X comes with 5 year 40,000 warranty. Earlier this year, my car started making a grinding noise 40% of the time when accelerate over 50mph. I scheduled an appointment with Tesla service and upon the 5mins. Test drive with Tesla service tech, we were not able to duplicate the problem. The tech asked me to make a note of the time or video record when it occurs and then re-schedule the appointment. I follow the instructions to made a few video recording before re-scheduling the appointment.

This time when trying to schedule the appointment, Tesla service want me to "approve" a $156 diagnostic fee. I explain my car is still under warranty and the tech said Tesla warranty does not cover wind or road noise and if during the test drive, they aren't able to duplicate the issue, I'm still stuck with the $156 fees. When I purchase my car, I was offer a 40000 miles/5 years bumper to bumper warranty... there were never a mention of wind/road noise exemption. In fact, when I first took delivery of my car.. the passager's windows has lots of wind noise and they fixed it under "warranty". I requested to speak to a manager and review their "Warranty" and they now simply ignore all of my requests.

Bought a Tesla Y 4 months ago, haven't receive it, and they have change 2 times the pick up date, for different reasons, the last one, because THEY did a dent to my car, the day before of the pick up, THEY DON'T TRY TO HELP YOU, they make you pay everything and later don't care about nothing!!! And the Customer Service Rep, doesn't care about NOTHING OF THE CUSTOMERS NEEDS. Sadly Tesla is the same or worst as the old brands. I really thought they were different and trying to be better. I was wrong.
