Jake ** - Store Manager Sandy, UT quoted me a price of over $400 for my 2017 Tacoma windshield replacement. I had done some price checking and found two other prices for $245 and $248 for the same glass and they would come to my place to install. Jake was very rude to me in front of other customers in the showroom. Would not negotiate a price, practically kicked me out of the store for asking for competitive pricing. Embarrassed me and the other customers in the store with his behavior. Will never do business with Safelite ever. Went with Abra Auto Body and Glass for $248, great service and will come to me with rock chip repair at no cost. Auto Glass Now would have been a good choice as well, $245 remote service. Bite me Safelite.

Well to start off it's a 2002 BMW 325i, my windshield and two side mirrors needed to be replaced. Well the windshield leaks water and the side windows no longer roll up or down as they broke the regulators, as well as damaging door clips and the leather work. The inner part of the door doesn't even fit together anymore, and furthermore the doors are still filled with broken glass even after two trips. I reported the leak and damages and they just said it happens a lot to BMWs and didn't even offer to fix any of it. Overall it's just a bad deal. Don't go there.

I took my 2012 Toyota FJ cruiser to Safelite in Williamsburg, Va on December 4th to have a new windshield installed. I had to have this done in their shop because the top molding has to be replaced with the windshield. I was there approximately 2 hours, and part of the time was to do a walk around the vehicle to inspect for any kind of damage. The technician noted that the rubber seal on the bottom of the radio antenna was a little dry rotted. I work rotating shift and was starting midnight shift that night, so when the windshield was done I paid for it and left to go and get some sleep. I don't drive this vehicle as a daily driver, it has only 42,000 miles on it and I purchased it new.

After working 9 straight midnight shifts, and in the meantime we had 6" of snow I noticed that the trim they installed was crooked, scratched, and not lined up at all. I started checking the entire area around the windshield and noticed scratches on both sides of the roof. I took the vehicle back and told the manager I needed him to come and look at it. Meanwhile a technician if that is what you would call him spoke up and said the molding wasn't supposed to line up with the roof line. After informing him that he didn't have a clue what he was talking about the manager took over. I told him that this was my 2nd FJ cruiser and I had a windshield replaced in my other one with no problems at all (not by Safelite though). He scheduled me to come in today December 15th to replace the windshield, and was going to schedule a vendor to come and repair the scratches.

I showed up today and I'm sitting there. It's 9 and nothing has been done to my vehicle, still sitting where I parked it. Then a guy showed up and the woman behind the counter talked to him, then she came to get me and said this was the guy who was going to be fixing the scratches. After he finishes, and he did a great job, the woman comes out to tell me that they won't be able to fix the windshield today and she would call me when they got the new molding in. So the next trip to maybe get my windshield fixed will be the 4th trip, approximately 50 miles round-trip. Needless to say this will be the last time I'll ever deal with this company. I'm going to attach the pictures of the scratches, and the shoddy work on the molding. And on top of the whole situation, not even an apology. Sad!! I'm now at the Hampton Va shop to finally get it fixed after almost a month. Just another 3 hours of waiting, but these guys seem like they know what they are doing.

I am a trucker (18 wheeler). I have tried 2 Safelite windshields and both got traveling cracks (DOT FAIL!) from a ding that, on a properly laminated windshield would have just been a nickel-sized ding. Safelite truck windshields are junk. I don't know what sort of laminate (if any) they have from their foreign-made garbage, but I will only use OEM or OEM quality henceforth.

My windshield was hit by several rocks from the back of someone's truck on the freeway. I ended up with 5 tiny chips in my windshield. Took my car to Safelite to fill the tiny chips. When I got my car back there was an eight inch crack across my windshield. I should it to them right away. They said that can happen when it is filled. Let me give you a quote to replace the windshield. I said, "Why should I have to pay?" I then called the main number who told me that can happen. Let me give you $50.00 off the cost of the replacement. I am going elsewhere that charges less.

Was told I would have replaced today. Took off from work. Tech called 2 hours before appt to say shop they ordered from never got glass? Formatted texts telling me they are sorry. To have a nice day? Maybe in by Monday and installed Tuesday? Why not be sure before setting appt? Disappointed! They had to know availability after or before setting my appt. It's 24 degrees out. Shrink wrap won't prevent damage. Make sure you get confirmation of availability! I didn't and now stuck!

After reading many of the comments on this board, I was seriously concerned with having this company do my windshield replacement. My car has a lot of electronic stuff that is controlled by the material in the windshield. I was afraid some of this would no longer work after the replacement. My insurance company uses Safelite and I told them my concerns and they assured me that if there were any problems they would take care of it. Anyway, everything was done quickly and efficiently and everything works! The experience was excellent for us.

Read the reviews on their site and decided: What could go wrong and then scheduled my appointment at my home... The installer removed my old windshield and all trims wipers etc. Then told he could not install the new one due to there being some rust looking dirt around perimeter of the rim (my truck is 20 years old and in very good condition)... After checking it for myself and concluding it was sound and not actual rust, the installer still declined to put it in and left me high and dry with no windshield at all... I should've listened to my gut after reading some of the other negative reviews. Fool me once shame on them. Fool me twice shame on me.

USAA uses Safelite Glass for auto glass repairs and refers me here. Have had issues in the past too. Couple years ago, took multiple calls to schedule appt then they never showed up or cancelled at the last minute - not sure which. Rescheduling was a major hassle again. This past time, we had 9AM appt this morning for windshield replacement. Because of all the past problems, called yesterday to ask if windshield was in - said was on backorder and was scheduled to come in December 8th - 2 weeks away. Asked if they would call me when it comes in - "oh yes sir - we'll call you". Saved myself a trip going in this morning when there is no windshield to install because they never called to let me know.

I was out of country and had to have the spare key from my truck driven down to airport hotel where the window was broken. Oh did mention it was winter and it's snowing by a friend and his number was also given to Safelite. They are great at one thing - screwing up the entire replacement. I'm not going to use them ever again in fact I would rather have my eyeballs poked out with a rusty fork than have to go through the incompetence again.

My insurance company (Liberty Mutual) sent Safelite to my house to repair a stone chip the size of half a pea. There were two tiny cracks on either side of the chip and I needed it fixed before it cracked. The guy came out and "fixed" it. About 10 minutes after he left I got in my car and saw no difference, and there was a noticeable divot in the windshield that wasn't even filled flush. I called them and they assured me it was fixed and would NOT crack. I said it is not fixed and WILL crack. She again assured me it wouldn't and though "it may not look fixed it is, and won't crack".

Well, like I said, 11 days later it cracked across my entire windshield and now I have to pay to put in a completely new one. They told me it's a known risk that repairs DON'T WORK and by signing their form I was well aware of that. DO NOT USE SAFELITE. If you do, DO NOT SIGN THEIR FORM, IT RELEASES THEM FROM FAULT when they send a hack out and he doesn't know how to do a chip repair.

Safelite already replaced two windshields on the same vehicle and this morning I noticed my windshield was cracked again. This will be the third windshield I've had to have replaced by Safelite. During previous installments, they did not replace the rearview mirror which is attached to the windhield, properly. They did not use adequate adhesive and it fell off while driving. During installation, the tech used vice grips on the antennae which stripped the paint. I believe Safelite takes advantage of insurance companies who offer glass coverage, and inconveniences their customers with shabby work and inferior products.

Just had great experience having our 2016 Jeep Wranglers windshield replaced at my home in Houston. The technician's name is Anthony. He contacted me to say he could arrive much earlier than expected (huge plus because had 5 hr window which I hate)... Not only did he arrive within exact time he stated, but my jeep was rather dirty since it’s been raining so much in Houston and he took ample time properly wiping all the windows... which had me stunned seeing this?!

Nowadays (especially young staff) technicians rush thru jobs doing it very half-assed! Anthony took his time paying attention to details and afterwards explained exactly what he’d done, plus reviewed the warranty in layman terms. I’d say including fair pricing, I couldn’t imagine receiving better service with a genuine attractive smile than I received earlier today... Thanks again to my technician. Hours later I get off work & to my car for the 1st time & see ripples in the black strip along the top of my windshield. I have a cracked windshield and had set up an appointment two weeks ago. I checked my messages, emails and even the invoice page messages for any issues daily. Day came for them to arrive. I took vacation hours to stay home and wait for them. Only message I had received was one from "Gary" that stated he would be by around 12pm-5pm, and that he would text when he was arriving.

I waited all day and checked my messages every half an hour. Not a single message about being on his way or having issues finding my place. In the end I gave up after 5 pm and decide to leave the house to get something to eat. As I am driving I get the message that my appointment was canceled. No reason, no anything. This was 15-20mins after 5 pm.

I am now upset and call the customer "care", I get a woman saying she has no idea why and that she will email the guy but that is all she can do besides set up a new appointment. I can't spend ALL MY VACATION TIME WAITING FOR AN APPOINTMENT THEY CAN CANCEL 15 MINS AFTER ITS LATEST TIME! It is utterly ridiculous and the lack of actual caring for the customer is appalling. I refuse to make a new appointment and am gladly willing to take my business elsewhere. I would send screenshots of my messages if it let me do so here. I'd advise to not trust this company.

Scared me to death and could have caused an accident. Not once did the company apologize for the incident, but they did admit this is a problem that happens more often than not. Parts were supposed to be ordered for a repair, but never were until I called and followed up days later. Looks like it will be 1-2 weeks before the problem can be fixed for a known issue on their part.

Apparently in an effort to save money (even though I paid over $400 for a windshield replacement) they did not replace the molding clips. Customer service is absolutely atrocious. I would think that if it's preventing damage as part of the window installation or maintenance, that it should be fixed. Amazingly enough my 90 year old mother is so brilliant and is able to fix things herself she is going to and probably better than any man. The more I think about your lousy reply, the more irritated I get.

Our insurance company referred Safelite to us because of our windshield was crack. Safelite replaced the windshield and on heavy rain days we noticed that water was filling the back-seat floor. We took the car to the dealership and they diagnosed the problem ($130) and found out that the window was leaking. They said the damages were approximately $1,300 (causing water damage to the battery, fuse box, and wires). Safelite’s insurance inspector got to the dealership a couple of days later.

When we called Safelite later that day and asked if they were going to replace the window they told us that the car was locked, and they couldn’t inspect the car. We told them all they had to do is walk into the service center and pick-up the key. A couple of days later we were told that Safelite was there and replaced the windshield. I don’t know if Safelite talked to the dealership or not, but when we talked to service center that said that they filled up the battery that was drained and they weren’t going to do any repairs. They said we have to keep an eye on the car for now on and if we have any problems with the battery, fuse box, and wires bring it back to them and they will fix it.

The only good thing about this is that our insurance company kept a detailed log on what was going on and we called them to update them on the problems. They were very disappointed in Safelite and said that if we have any problems that they would “go after them”. Personally, I am disappointed because we are out $130 from the diagnosis fee and that from now on we have to keep an eye on the car for problems. I’m very disappointed that we can’t make these comments on Safelite’s website. It doesn’t give me the choice to do that. (This website wouldn't let me download the receipts).

The idea in signing up for this service is the perceived convenience of having someone come out and replace your windshield at your home or place of business. 3 weeks, and 3 cancelled appointments later I still have a huge crack on my windshield and nothing but excuses and wasted time to show for it. The first appointment was due to the fact that they brought the wrong windshield. Safelite blamed my insurance company, however they had the VIN # and make and model for the car. They also had my # and could have called Lexus if there was a question.

The 2nd time was because the windshield was coming from New York and was delayed, but "might" be in later. So after a day waiting of course it didn't show. The 3rd time (this morning) the scheduled installer asked if I had a garage for him to work in. I don't, nor was this ever brought up in any previous conversations with the multitude of Safelite employees I spoke to. Now it did rain, LAST NIGHT. However it's not raining now and the forecast calls for clouds but no rain until a 30% chance at 2 am tomorrow. I would recommend not bothering with this company in the future, they advertise well but the reality is they are more trouble than they're worth.

I had my windshield replaced at the Toms River, NJ location and would never recommend them! First, my rearview mirror shook around like crazy so I took the car back and they supposedly fixed it. Well it is somewhat better, but still shakes. Second, I had some broken and missing plastic retainers around the windshield and the Tech told me he replaced them. I come to find out that he took them from the plastic cowl in an area covered by the hood. I bought the 4 I need for a $1.44. It wasn't the $1.44 that bothered me, it was the fact that I was told he replaced them.

Third, I had cleaned the plastic cowl and applied Armor-All before bring the car in so I am 100% sure there were 3 metal clips that hold the cowl to the firewall. Well one is missing and the Tech and Manager argued that there were only two. I did reach out to Corporate to express my dismay, but never did hear from them. That silence speaks volumes to me about how much a company cares about their customers. Got me once, but never again!

I have replaced windshields in my vehicles due to rocks hitting them. I know what it sounds like and what it looks like. I was traveling on I-90 on the on ramp - nothing in front of me for at least a mile (it was 7:30am). My I heard a loud snap of glass - really loud. NOTHING like when a rock hits a windshield. I looked at it at our next pullover and there was a 3” crack coming from the top of my window, almost dead center. Only a crack. No divot. As I continued my journey the crack traveled across the window and was about 12” long within 2 1/2 week’s. Now that I’m back home I had them come out to look at it. He found a small missing piece of glass - smaller than the head of a pin - where a piece of glass had chipped out - not even in a circular pattern. He decided that it was an impact.

I disagreed with him because the missing section was not there before. He said that the impact point can get bigger over time. I brought up the point that I have never known a large crack in glass where not a single piece gets loose and falls away - besides - the windshield receives a lot of wind pressure. Well, I guess it is in their best interest to decide that every crack in a windshield is from an impact. So if you ever have a broken piece of glass and a small piece loosens and falls out - then I guess someone threw a rock at it - even if it happened when you bumped it from the opposite side or you drop it and crack it. If a section falls out something hit it from the side. Seriously?

During our last service we had a small divot in the windshield fixed. Your service person came out and fixed the divot and mentioned that sometimes larger cracks will happen after the divot is fixed, and if it did, to call back. A larger crack happened a day or so later and we had to have the service redone. I wasn’t extremely happy about having the entire windshield replaced as the car is new. We had to take it into a service center because I have a radar on the windshield. Ever since the plastic cover kept falling down. I knew I had to take my car into Toyota for service anyway so I asked them to check it out this morning.

Toyota says that it was wired incorrectly AND that the clips had been broken off the plastic cover and that this has happened before with Toyota Rav4s and Safelite. I have to now pay 59.99 plus tax for the plastic piece that Safelite broke. I called Safelite and spoke to a woman who told me that I could come by and get a cover from her that she had laying around to replace the pc that was broken. I had already told Toyota to fix the cover because it needed to be fixed assuming a company like Safelite would stand by their work and reimburse me for the cover they broke.

The woman on the phone did not tell me who she was but I believe she was the service manager of the Safelite shop that I took my car too. She clearly is not in the customer service field and she wasn’t very nice. She told me that because Toyota had touched the cover they would no longer warranty their work. She also said that Toyota changes their windshields all the time and that this type of thing happens all the time. Toyota told me you wired it up wrong, I am not going to take my car back for you to “fix” it. She also said that Toyota always says Safelite did something wrong which I thought was completely unprofessional as they are the experts.

I really feel this is TERRIBLE customer service. I will never use Safelite again nor will my friends and family. I’ll make sure that happens. I will also post this all over social media and contact the news stations. This is seriously disturbing that Safelite would just say, "Sorry, we won’t warranty this because your DEALERSHIP touched it after we messed it up." I wouldn’t have known the writing was installed incorrectly had I not taken it in to Toyota. The fact is, 60.00 won’t break me and I’m not concerned about the $$$ at this point. I just cannot believe Safelite would work on a car they do not know how to fix.

There was nothing that I could see that would cause a crack but they claimed they have a trained eye for spotting that sort of thing. I say BS. So I pay to have them replace the windshield and make an appointment. They call me on the day of my appointment to tell me they have to cancel because the new windshield cracked while being delivered on the truck. I called, explained the situation, and they came out and replaced the windshield under their "warranty". A few months later, I get a bill for the replacement. I had to call them and call the insurance company so Safelite could re-bill the insurance company for the replacement. There is no warranty at all. They just bill the insurance company again, but somehow I'm liable if they can't get their paperwork in order? There is no warranty--that's a lie. Their workmanship was at fault there. Fortunately, my insurance company is more reliable than Safelite and paid for the replacement.

I recently had a technician come to my job to repair a crack in my windshield. It was obvious that he was annoyed from the start since it was very hot out that day and he did not want to be there. After I gave him my keys and went back into work I get a call to come outside and my windshield has been repaired but "due to the heat he tore a gash in my dashboard" and "this can sometimes happen when it's this hot out." None of that made sense and it was obvious that he slipped while working and was being careless causing a 2 inch gash in my dashboard that he apparently tried to fix but was unable to.

After contacting Safelite I was assured that they would take care of it and it would be 100% covered under their warranty. I had numerous phone calls back and forth with the local office manager, Ted, who kept insisting it was a priority for them to get it taken care of as it was their fault and they would have someone come out and repair it for me. I scheduled an appt. with Safelite clearly stating I needed someone to assess the extent of the damage and see if it could be fixed without removing the entire windshield. They sent out another technician who was told he was there to repair a crack in the windshield. So when he got to my job he was unable to do anything but stated that the previous technician definitely slipped up and the damage had nothing to do with the heat as was previously claimed and I would most likely need an entirely new dashboard.

I made a few more phone calls to Safelite over the next few days as did the dashboard repair guy who was referred to me (who was great btw) and between phone calls from both of us we were getting nowhere with Safelite. That's when my husband, who works in auto body, stepped in and also made numerous calls back and forth to Safelite. They assured him they would meet the dashboard repair guy on a given day in order to remove my windshield and make the repair.

The day the dashboard repair guy was set to come and fix it Safelite claimed there was no one available to come and remove my windshield that day and we would have to reschedule. About another week went by with numerous dodged phone calls before legal action was threatened and multiple calls were placed to Geico wo to complain. Finally, no less than a month after the initial damage was caused did we finally get my dashboard repaired. I will never use Safelite again after all of the aggravation they put me through in order to repair a mistake made by them.

They told me that it is covered by my insurance that I should call 4 days later (this happened on June 18th) and ask for manager. I did. He told me "We are waiting pieces, sometimes we will need to paint it so process will be longer". I agree.

Later on, a week or so, I call them. The really displeasing guy told me that they are waiting approval from my insurance to go ahead, they clearly lied to me. I called back to my insurance and they told to AAA they are still waiting for the pieces. It is been almost a month I don't have access to my trunk because of the missing pieces. I had scheduled an appointment to replace a window in a Peterbilt truck on Jun 20, 18, the time frame was between 12 noon and 5pm which they would drive out to the place of service. A Price was quoted and agreed upon, I specifically asked if they accept Com Data and EFS checks for payment as no account for service was set up. They said Yes so we all proceeded forward.

When the Tech got here, he had no idea how to handle this payment, the task was simple, they complete the job I run the check number to our dispatch, they issue the OK for payment get the confirmation code, check is good. This guy stood there calling his manager, as I sat calling my dispatch and we both are getting different stories from Safelite's management, the tech decides to call the EFS ph# which is an automated list giving options of what the caller wanted to do, he had no clue what or how to proceed. Needless to say nothing got done and the truck remained AS IS. So with this warning I tell all to Semi Drivers, you're better off finding a facility that does this at hand and has the knowledge of what resources are acceptable in payment otherwise you're just wasting time, and we all know if you don't roll you don't get paid and we all have responsibilities out there to get done.

I wouldn't recommend these people unless you have CASH or Credit card on hand, and we all know anyone who's going to stash $500.00 in cash to pay is asking for a problem, worst idea to do. We will never call this company again. Apparently the smarts just aren't there, Com Data and EFS checks have been around for a long time, to try and tell me they never seen one is unreal.

The administrative assistant, rather than being apologetic, told me she lived as far away as did I when I mentioned the inconvenience. Extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. My car should have been a priority after the first blunder, but they made it painfully clear clients and customer service are not important to them. My windshield is still not replaced. I do NOT recommend them.

Shoddy service. Made appointment on May 22 for June 5th. Purchased front & rear windshield wipers. Later received an email confirming the appointment but was only charged for the rear. On June 4th I was told the appointment needed to be canceled b/c the replacement windshield had a scratch. Reset for June 7th between hours of 12p-5p. At 1:15p they cancelled again. This time because technicians had called in sick. *NOTE both days it was raining heavily, BUT, I had secured a large garage for the work to be done in a cool, dry environment. Reset to Saturday June 9th. Worked completed but only the front windshield wipers were replaced. The technician said his work order only said front & that he couldn't replace the rear anyways b/c he didn't have a rear one.

Called the office, got standard lip service then, "well let me check to see if we even carry that part..." Me: "Why would you charge me for a part that you don't carry?" Continued with run around to include guilt trip/sarcasm, "well if I have to, I'll leave the office and buy the part and to come to you even though we have things going on..." Me: "The part is $12.77. Two cancellations & run around; just refund my $12.77 & let's go out separate ways. You guys aren't worth the aggravation." Them: "We didn't charge you for the windshield wipers & I have no record of you purchasing the rear." Note: The whole conversation about the wipers arose when I responded to the confirmation email. The person on the other line asked for proof & provided an email that as it turns out is not a valid email address. Needless to say. I won't recommend them to any friends or family. If I ever need another windshield I'll look elsewhere...

Terrible company. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. My vehicle was only 4 months old when my windshield cracked. I called Safelite on 4-6-18 after confirming with my insurance company that I am covered for a new OEM windshield. I asked for mobile service and was given a scheduled date of 4-19-18 at 12 noon (I have email confirmation). The installer did not arrive until 3:30 pm. He was about to start removing my cracked windshield so I asked to see the new one. As he took it out of the truck and set it on the table I noticed a chip on the bottom (photo available). I told him I would not accept that windshield.

The chip would have been covered by the trim but would probably have cracked as soon as I hit a bump. I was then given a new install date of 5-4-18. Before arriving they called and tried to get me to bring my vehicle to them even though I asked for mobile service and told them I have an empty 3 car garage for them to work in. Upon arrival they tried installing the same chipped windshield that I rejected on 4-19. Keep in mind that when you bring your vehicle to them you are not allowed in the service area and cannot see which windshield they are installing. They returned 2 hrs later with a new windshield or possibly found a way to repair the chip so it wasn't noticeable. While replacing the windshield they damaged the small chrome trim piece on the passenger side (photos available).

They also threw all the trim pieces on top of my rear leather seats while doing the work (It's a luxury SUV that is only 4 months old). They told me that they will order a replacement trim and they would fix it once the replacement was available. I drove to their shop 3 times between May 9th and June 4th, only to be given different excuses each time. I finally received a call on 6-6-18 that the replacement trim had arrived. I drove to their shop immediately and finally got the new piece installed. It took 61 days from start to finish on my windshield replacement and I had to make 4 trips to their shop (so much for mobile service) and numerous phone calls.

Do not believe the commercials. First off they could not schedule an appointment until FIVE days after I called. Second they give you a FIVE hour window for the repairman to arrive. My window was between 12 PM ET and 5 PM ET. At 12:30 PM ET I get a call from 'Rock' that he will be there in an hour. At 1:30 no one arrives. I call Rock. He then informs me that he just started another job. I had to ask twice what time I could expect him. He finally said 4:30 PM ET. At 4:20 PM ET I get a phone call from Rock but I was on another line and had to call him back, which I did in five minutes. I get Rock's voicemail and leave a message. 5 PM ET comes and goes no Rock no return call. I call again and get his voicemail again. I hang up without leaving a message.

Ten minutes later I get a phone call from Rock. He has the GALL to say "Hi Mike! Whats up?" I say, "It's ten after five. Where are you, I have been sitting here for five hours." He says, "I left a voicemail saying the glass was broken and we have to reschedule." Now I have a Samsung Galaxy 8+. When some leaves a voicemail you get a notification plus a little green icon next to the number that left it in Recent Calls. There was and still is nothing. Now they want me to sit here for ANOTHER five hours Tuesday and there is not a damn thing I can do about it. Use these guys at your own peril.

I will not be returning. It took a week to schedule an appointment, last Tuesday 8-12 was my appointment. I got a call the day before my appointment asking me to reschedule for Thursday. I was trying to be reasonable and accepted. Unfortunately the afternoon after my originally scheduled appointment, the storm that blew through split the tiny chip in my windshield and now I need the whole thing replaced. When I called to ask if there was anything they could do, I was told that I would receive a call from the manager a few days later. The call never came.

When my new appointment finally came, I was up early on my day off waiting for my new 8-12 technician to arrive. He showed up about 12:15, and when he finally got started, he realized that they gave him the wrong windshield. He had to drive back to the warehouse to get the right windshield, and he wasn’t back until after 1 pm. I had other things to do after my appointment before I went to work, but that wasn’t able to happen because of everything being messed up. My original windshield should have been fixed over a week and a half ago, easily fixing a chip less than an inch big. I rescheduled trying to be nice and now I’m spending over $250 more than originally quoted because of the crack, and I can’t even get anyone to give me a call back. I’m a college student, I cannot afford stuff like this, which is why I hastily accepted the reschedule for a simply $40 discount. I will never be scheduling with this company again.

I booked an appointment online. Time of Service was listed as between 8 am and 12 noon, BUT for an additional $14.99 I could book the Early Bird Special and be first on the list. I did so since I had minor surgery scheduled for the afternoon of the service date and wanted to be sure I allowed sufficient time. Checking back later on my appointment time, it was still listed as between 8 and noon. I called and was told that I was first on the list but their technician first needed to go into the shop to pickup equipment, etc and that he'd be there between 8 and 10. Jessie, showed up at 9:45. A far cry from 8 am. Then I was told that the replacement would take between and hour and an hour and a half (30 minutes less than what the web site stated. Yay). However, there would also be an additional one hour waiting time to allow the adhesive/sealant to cure. Needless to say, I had a time problem.

My complaint, the 8 am to noon quoted time estimate was deliberately misleading. If the technicians report to work at 8, gather equipment and make calls, there is no way that any customer will be serviced beginning at 8AM. AND, the installation time estimate should at least mention, if not include, the additional hour's curing time. Oh, and the wipers I ordered and prepaid through PayPal??? The tech had no record off them. I'm really worried about the quality of materials and workmanship given the misleading information and forgotten order items.

Two days prior to the appointment, the technician calls and says the window is not yet available and the appointment would need to be rescheduled. I called another company - they informed me they get their glass from Safelite and based on her inventory record, Safelite did in fact have the necessary part in.

I called Safelite back and told them what happened. The lady on the phone informs me that it was a mix up in the warehouse, the part is in and we can keep the appointment. It is now the day of the supposed appointment and over 2 hours after the given time frame... no call, no show! Upon calling the Safelite technician to ask why no one showed up for the appointment, we were told the part is NOT in. I called Safelite's main line AGAIN and was told the part is not in and will never be in. I am beyond floored! I have never encountered a business with no regard for their customers. Safelite came to my office and "repaired" a chip. I told the tech that I didn't think it was correct but he assured me it was. About 30 days later, it cracked up the windshield. My first appointment for them to come to my office was rescheduled due to rain. The 2nd appointment was HORRIBLE. The guy took an hour to remove my windshield, forgot the glue to put the new one in and when the second guy came, they tried to rush because at this point the first guy had been there for two hours when he estimated 1-1.5 hours for the job. I got the call that it was done and came out and he told me the second tech cracked the windshield and I would have to schedule an appointment in a couple days after the glue dries.

Upon further inspection, they left greasy handprints on my tan interior, tore the headliner, didn't seal the rearview mirror correctly, left grease on the door, smudges and handprints on the rearview mirror, and bent up the metal piece that is supposed to sit flush against the windshield. I have not checked under the hood yet, as that idea was just suggested to me by a co-worker. The manager of the store said someone would come fix the windshield 3 days later but they originally expected me to take half a day off of work to come to the shop for them to fix the issues.

I told them I needed a rental car because the car isn't safe to drive and if it rains the electrical components could get wet where his tech cracked the windshield and didn't seal it properly. I'm having to take time out of my day to go get a rental car when I am booked with meetings at work and don't have the time to fix their screw up and they don't care. Brian the manager, continues to lie to me and is avoiding my phone calls so that he does not have to deal with an upset customer. I can't believe Safelite has so many good ratings on their site since shortly after my bad experience, my daughter had a bad experience with damage to her car. My problem started with crack in my windshield. I contacted Safelite, a technician was sent out, he was not familiar with windshield. I was instructed to make appointment to bring in. On Feb 2, 2018, windshield was replaced, repairman offered to seal windshield border with 2 sided tape. After leaving, while driving I heard a noise (wind type noise). Contacted Safelite, they requested I bring in because they have equipment to diagnose noise. Attempted to make appointment, I was told they would have someone to come out.

On the day appointment was take place, it rained. Another appointment was made for someone to come out. Prior to technician coming I attempted to use my sunroof (panoramic type), it would not open all the way. I noticed a spring and a piece of plastic sitting in the crevice of the sunroof. I assumed that while repairing the windshield they inadvertently left the spring out. When the technician came, he said the spring appeared to be left out but that it did not belong there and he removed it and advised me to take the car into Safelite. Long story short, Safelite took no responsibility for my sunroof even though it was working before the windshield was installed. I contacted their corporate office and they were not willing to assist me.

The solution given to me was to take my car to the dealership and if they indicated that Safelite was responsible then they would pay for it. Note: a dialysis of the sunroof would cost me $174.00. This entire experience started 2/2/18 and did not end until 4/4/18. I intend to have this diagnosis done but I will never recommend this company for service again. My daughter had to have her car repaired outside of Safelite for fear of having to go thru what I went thru. I will say that Safelite's staff @ the Union City location was very kind and professional but that does not excuse the poor workmanship and inconvenience put upon their customers.

Absolute joke of a company. Working with them has been and continues to be a terrible experience. I disputed their charge with my credit card company due to multiple causes and only received a letter saying I disputed the charged without cause. I responding to a letter sent to me about my payment being disputed without cause because this could not be further from the truth. I had multiple issues with the service and expectations that were set throughout my entire experience with Safelite. It's actually been rather unbelievable how terrible this experience has been.

Cause #1) Date of initial appointment, the wrong piece of glass was brought by the technician making the entire appointment pointless. I was told that I would be first on the list the next day and would have a 9 am appointment. Cause #2) No notice from Safelite until after the 9 am time which had been confirmed on the previous day. I was then informed that my appointment would be later in the day. I had to rework my entire day because of this. Cause #3) The technician obviously was aware that the new window, the correct window, was much more expensive than the previous quote. While he should have made me aware before starting the work, I was not informed until after the installation was complete. This has a very bait and switch feel to it.

Cause #4) The technician damaged the locking mechanism to my vehicle during the installation process and was not able to repair the damage. He said a new part would need to be ordered. He said that I would be contacted about repairing the damage and that it would be taken care of. I never received any communication from Safelite about this and the damage has not be repaired. Cause #5) I was understandably upset with the experience of the entire process and the damage to the vehicle. I called the local office, where the technician was dispatched from, multiple times and asked for the manager. Every time I was told he was busy, but if I left a message I would receive a callback. I have yet to hear anything back from anybody from that office.

I have reached out to their billing/collection department via email and phone multiple times but have not received any communication from them. I am now receiving calls from a collection agency. This has been a terrible experience and the lack of professionalism from the local franchise to the corporate office has been ridiculous.

Then I find out Safelite scheduled me for the afternoon when I am not available. March 16th 1:15 pm - The technician shows up and asks "What seems to be the problem?" (He did not know why he was dispatched.) I explained about the lower cowl needing to be replaced. He said that he was told that it already was, but he thought he could fix it. I informed him that I did not want it fixed and asked him to go back to the office to retrieve the part they had ordered for my car. He did. He came back, installed the lower cowl and did a very good job.

March 16th 2:30 - Called the Glendale office and asked to speak with the manager. I was told that he was out until Monday and that he would call me then. March 20th Tuesday - No Call. Throughout this whole adventure everyone was polite and very apologetic. They eventually made it right, but I doubt that I will ever feel comfortable using Safelite again.

We recently had Safelite out to replace our windshield. After a few months the windshield started leaking excessive amounts of water. I called them again and they came out a second time to repair the leak. After just a few weeks, the rubber seal just popped off!!! It's laying here and I've called several times for someone to repair. The 3rd appointment was completely disregarded as the technician never even showed up (yesterday).

I called this morning and was passed around customer care for about 15 minutes until THEY DISCONNECTED the call. Unbelievable. Now, they have my phone number in the system as the only way to get in touch with me, so I expected a call back right away. Nothing. I have been waiting 10 minutes. This is a company I will never use again. So much for a lifetime warranty... After my first initial visit, the customer service has been worse than horrible. The local area is Doylestown, Bucks County. I would never recommend.

Technician seemed ready to leave as soon as he pulled up. Gave me a bunch of reasons why he might not be able to "by Safelite standards replace the window." I'm like "umm no I'm not going to let you take out my window if you're already doubting you can put it back in." Dude was telling me that if there is a lot of rust he can't put in a new window. I'm looking at every seam and I see no rust that could prevent adhesion... there is surface rust on the ends of the sheet metal, but it's an almost 20 yr old car in Oregon. I understand only putting out quality work, but come on, guy didn't want to work and talked the company out of a sale and I still need a new window. Waste of my time. Will not be using Safelite anytime soon.

The driver called in this morning (the next day) windshield is leaking like a sieve. I call Safelite and tell them he needs his windshield fixed in Greenville MI where he will be all day. "Oh no. They cannot come today how about tomorrow", the driver will be driving in the rain all day tomorrow (because that's what they do, drive). "How about Saturday," I ask, they don't do mobile calls in that area on Saturday. "Ok, just make me an appointment for Monday and I will cancel my driver's load and bring him home so it will be convenient for you to come and fix your shoddy work." She refused to fix the chips even though they were smaller than a dime and well within the dollar bill limit. Dana was rude and I mean she should never work in customer service. I am a retired Customer Service executive in a large Fortune 500 company and if she were one of my employees she would have been fired on the spot. I believe Dana wanted a larger project such as replacing the windshield rather than repairing it. I have used this company in the past to replace a windshield and they had to come out a second time to re-glue the seal which became loose and was flopping around. That was not a good experience but at least the worker was polite if not competent. I will never use Safelite again and will advise my neighbors, friends, family, and my insurance company of my latest experience.

Problems started in late 2016, had to have side driver window replaced. Called them out and it seemed painless at first. A few months later I noticed that my window was cracking from inside the door panel and they came back out to replace. When doing so they somehow screwed up my door speaker which they sent out someone to fix. Fast forward to 2018 and my window again is cracking from inside the door panel. Tech shows up and they have the wrong glass, they had to order from another company, car is left unattended with no glass in the door for several hours, they finally show back up with the correct glass and he leaves.

The next day I noticed my gas cap was opened, thinking maybe I didn't shut it all the way, I closed it and that was it. Driving home the next day I noticed it opened again. Thinking something didn't add up, I called them back out again to make sure they didn't pinch a wire or something. I find that not only did they damage my door panel but the wire harness inside the door is damaged. Was told to take my car to the dealer, have them order parts and they will cover it. Waiting for manager to put it in writing before I do anything. So here I am with 3 pieces of glass installed so far, damaged speaker and broken door panel and wire harness. For my troubles I was offered 50 dollars back. From me, BUYER BEWARE, DONT WALK BUT RUN FROM THIS COMPANY.

It cracked again due to another rock so I had Brakes Plus Auto Glass do the replacement this time. They found that Safelite did not seal the windshield all the way and also did not prime the windshield molds. I had another experience with my 2003 Acura MDX a few years back where they put the rear window in upside down after a neighbor threw a rock through the rear window.

Not only the rear view mirror brackets did not match this tech scratched and damaged my rearview mirror assembly. You can see where he forced to open the covers. Now they are damaged. Since they don't really align he put a glue and putty on the rearview mirror assembly.

Also when I hit an uneven road the mirror shakes. I asked Mercedes how much is that whole special rearview mirror assembly and it is $1200. Now I have to deal with this problem. My windshield was replaced because of a crack from a rock that hit on the driver's side and it is eye level. I wish I looked at their reviews. I did not know too that I can choose a repair shop. This tech came back to my place 3 times to try and fix it. Now I'm afraid to let him work on my car. I also cleaned residues of glue on my wood paneling and vacuum the car from this mess.

Well I was very worried when I happened to be at the Safelite store getting my car’s windshield replaced and just happened to start reading reviews about this company. I do understand that most reviews are when people are pissed but the sheer number of unhappy customers really worried me. Let’s start off with when I called late Saturday night checking prices for a replacement windshield for my 2001 Isuzu Trooper. The lady was very friendly and answered all my questions but in the end the price was about 50 dollars more than several local shops in town. It would have ended there but I decided to tell her the reason I was not placing an order because the price was too high but I was considering maybe calling them back because the warranty they offered was lifetime replacement or repair as long as I owned the vehicle.

She said, “Just a minute,” typed something in her computer and said, “I have good news. I can offer the windshield 50 dollars cheaper with a coupon” and said it could be done Monday around 2:30pm. I of course said, “Let’s do it” and made the appointment for Monday and she said I would receive an email to remind of the date and also the address and directions to get there. On a side note she recommended new windshield wipers and it just happened I needed them and did not want to install them myself with the below freezing weather here in Kansas City. On the day of the install I arrived at 2:30 and they said it would take about 1-2 hrs. The waiting room was very clean and offered coffee, hot choco, etc. during my time waiting on the install.

The manager gave everyone an update and pulled me aside saying the install would take longer because they forgot to include clips along with the windshield and also the old glass was being difficult to take out, but he sent someone nearby to the warehouse to get the clips. Now I was not at all upset because #1 they came and told me and #2 they did not attempt to cut corners and do a crappy job because the right parts was missing. It took about 2hrs 20 min to replace the windshield including the wipers even though they had to get another part at the warehouse. When going over the bill the manager took off 9.99 which was the cost of windshield disposal because I had to wait longer. The total cost of everything including tax and the windshield wipers was 199.99. Just for comparison the cheapest in town at a local shop was 170.00 which did not include the lifetime warranty and new windshield wipers.

Now about the install, everything looked great, the cleanup was spotless, no broken glass shards. Also the carpet was vacuumed and dash was cleaned. It ever smelled great. Must have been the cleaner. The windshield itself was perfect. The mirror installed correctly and no fingerprints on it or the windshield. The molding on the outside was great looking. No problems on workmanship and the windshield was cleaned spotlessly on both sides and windshield wipers worked great and I also noticed no leaks via fluid or air.

As for the review I gave perfect 5 stars. I would highly recommend, the service was great, the price I believe exceeded expectations including lifetime warranty and the products themselves looks of the highest quality. I am so glad to have used Safelite and all the negative reviews all I can say is I’m sure most based on bad service and if they had all the positive reviewers would be in the 90’s. I’m not one to praise often and this was probably a handful of reviews I’ve done in my lifetime!!!

Setting the appointment was easy. No problems there. The tech came to my office and did the repair in the parking lot. That's the good part. The bad part is I HATE the quality of the glass. It is impossible to keep or get clean. It constantly gets a film on it that is next to impossible to clean. I read the company instruction to no avail. I have used vinegar and water, ammonia-free Windex, and several foaming brands of cleaner. None work. We did not have this problem with the factory glass nor with an aftermarket windshield from another company. Our insurance company paid for the windshield and we used Safelite on 2 vehicles. Had the same problem with both windshields. I would recommend avoiding this company for this reason. The glass is inferior. Safelite recommends their custom blend glass cleaner. The whole thing feels like a scam to me.

Took it to the one on McKellips in Mesa. Picked up the car and drove away, then a piece attached to my windshield fell off. I drove back and they reinstalled it. Driving home I noticed they did not clean the new window, my mirror had fingerprints all over it, and looking closely, and there was some kind of glue stuck on the trim, I couldn’t get it off. They sent a service person out to my house, he tried sanding the glue off and scratched my paint. I had to take it to a body shop and got a new piece installed.

About a week or so later I went to use my wipers, the windshield fluid wouldn’t come on. I took it to the dealer, thought warranty issue, they told me the windshield installer didn’t hook it back up and left everything hanging apart. They also told me to never use Safelite, they are the worst. The manager of the store was never there, always out, so I took care of it with the cooperate office. They paid for the trim piece, and gave me 25 dollars for my inconvenience, what a joke! I’m not sure how this company is in business.

My auto insurance company sent Safelite out to repair a new ding on my windshield. When they arrived I asked the installer how much it would cost to repair another one that was close to the one they came for. He said they could repair up to three. Both these we talked about were in the driver's sight. A few minutes later, I hear a “crack”. The installer had tried to repair a tiny ding close to the bottom edge of the windshield. He tells me sometimes when they’re close to the edge they’re more vulnerable to crack. Now I have a 10” crack in my windshield that my local Safelite refuses to replace. They did offer a “discount” to replace, but I feel Safelite wasn’t hired to repair the ding they were working on.

The installer chose on his own to try to fix the tiny ding, without my approval, close to the edge KNOWING it could be a problem. Both of these issues without discussing with me first. I wasn’t at all concerned about that ding as it wasn’t in the driver's sight and was about the size of a pencil tip. Now it is a long crack that has caused me stress in trying to deal with the people with this company. The managers are more interested in protecting the company than dealing with extremely unhappy customers. I am also voicing my concerns with my insurance company, who sent Safelite in the first place.

I took my vehicle in to have a small chip on the windshield repaired. On returning home, noticed there was now a crack 2 inches in one direction off the chip, and an additional crack approximately 1 inch on the other side. I was not happy about this but had been told it was a possible side-effect of the repair, so accepted it. One of the small cracks has since blossomed into a foot long crack extending across the windshield necessitating its replacement. I phoned Safelite on 2 occasions and was bumped upstairs to their executive customer service. The replacement cost of my windshield is over 500. It is not covered by my insurance.

Safelite took the line that this is a rare event and not their fault, along with several condescending conversations about the dynamics of windshield glass. My request was that they help with the replacement cost. Their argument was this happens <1% of the time, so not their problem. My argument: since it happens rarely, is as likely to have been the fault of the repair as unseen damage, the appropriate customer service response is to assist with the cost of repair. They were unwilling to help. This is the first time in my life I have gone to the trouble of writing a negative review for a company, however, this was an exceptionally poor experience. What should have been a free repair on a small rock chip, will now cost 500.

This past August, I experienced the displeasure of water damage to my car because employees employed with this company are inexperienced and incompetent to say the least. These incompetent employees installed my windshield incorrectly causing water twice to leak at the top and roof of my car. The first time it leaked I took my vehicle back to the Safelite in Union City, Georgia and the manager looked at it and ran water over the windshield to show me that water was not coming inside my car as though I am some dumbass! I excused this first occurrence not thinking that it wouldn't happen again, but again water leaked through my windshield with water leaking from the driver visor to the passenger visor and towards the middle of the roof of the car that is only a year and half years old.

I took it back again only to find that water was also down in the front of my car where the VIN is! After my windshield was finally correctly installed. I asked them about the water damage in my vehicle. I was told to go home and let it dry and call back; when I called back and asked to speak with a manager, one possibly pretending to be said manager gets on the phone and after hearing my complaint had the damn nerve to tell me to take my car and have it detailed which would cost around $100 dollars and to bring in a receipt and that they would give me my money in return.

I was livid, because your company caused this problem and I need to be reimbursed for the damaged caused by the water! I advise others not to rely on this company who hired anyone and don't care what happens to customer's vehicle! At this point, I will be out $350 out of pocket. Every single person I talked to is so brainwashed on their warranty policy they have completely lost sight on what customer service really is. I've been in the auto biz for over 15yrs and have never seen any service as bad as this. This is by far the worst service on all levels that I've ever witnessed. It'll be a cold day in hell before Safelite ever touches any car of mine ever again.

When we called in for the claim we asked to not have Safelite chosen to replace my windshield due to reviews and horror stories that were told to me about their lack of experience with C7 Corvettes. With this level of car and the specialty needs we only wanted to use a professional company like Chevrolet since they know the product. Allstate still chose them since they were able to purchase the OEM HUD CORVETTE windshield but let me tell you it has been a nightmare and battle getting this taken care of. They ripped the weather stripping from the driver's side to the passenger side and blew it off like it wasnt a big deal. They wanted me to drive across town again for them to fix their mistake and I said no!

They then scheduled for someone to come to my work the end of the following week and that was a no-go because the tech said it was too hot outside to fix it and he knew that it was going to be a tough job and was unsure on how to fix it. Then they scheduled again for that Saturday. That Saturday I had to cancel my plans and wait on them all day for them to come to the house to work in my garage. Well, the stripping was flimsy, warped, sticking out, not aligned to the car, etc. I waited a few days to see if it would settle but it was worse. So that was already 3 times and still my car looked like crap. I was becoming extremely frustrated with the attitudes and nonchalant mentality of the unprofessional people at Safelite and asked my husband to call Allstate again and they finally agreed to send us to the Chevrolet dealership.

After Chevrolet looked at the mess that Safelite made we had to make another appointment with them as they had to order the correct stripping pieces since Safelite didnt order the correct one (went cheap) and it would take a few hours to fix. Well finally after being released to Chevrolet (which is what was requested originally) the correct part was ordered and they fixed my car correctly on Tuesday. What should have been a one-day fix took over 3 weeks and was not handled appropriately on Allstate's part nor Safelite's part. I have been with your company for a while now and I am really disappointed on how this situation escalated to this manner and I am concerned we will be charged for items that should not be billed due to the issues they created.

Replacement of Windshield in Honda Accord - The Safelite tech came to our home to replace the windshield that was cracked by an object flying up off of the road. Summary: 1) Took off gasket/trim on top of roof and it doesn't seat. 2) Left approximately 1/2" gap on each side of the windshield. 3) Gouged the paint in the roof 4) Left a black tar-like substance in various places on the exterior and interior of the car.

Safelite is having the corrective work done by an auto body shop to the tune of $1,200.00. As if that wasn't enough, the glass would have been rejected by us anyway. I don't know where Safelite gets their glass but there were huge areas of "fog" within the windshield that did not clear up. Safelite's quality is seriously lacking on the installation and quality of the glass they installed for us.

I called the insurance and picked Safelite instead of my usual place because I thought it would be quicker and more convenient to have it done at the house. I told them my crack was larger than a half dollar, they sent someone out on Monday and she said she couldn't repair it and would send someone out again the next day. He came and fixed the window... However the next day on the way to work the arm of my windshield wiper came loose. I called and they said I had to bring in the car. Brought it in and said that the technician didn't screw in the arm all the way and told me that I should get new wipers.

He told me that they only had one left and to come back in the afternoon so they could order me one. Went back there and the one that was originally there was gone. Told me to come back the next day and they would replace them for free. Went back the next day, had them put on and thought it was all over with. The next time it rained and I had the wipers on, they twisted up (see picture) on the Thruway in a downpour... Had to pull over and take one wiper off because they kept overlapping while I was driving.

I went back to shop and they put one new wiper on and told me to come back in the next week because my windshield was scratched up. So once again I had to take more time to go there and have a new windshield put on. Now probably because they didn't bother to put TWO new wipers on... Since the wipers were bent... I now have ANOTHER scratch on my window from the wiper. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone and I wish I would have just left the crack in my windshield instead of dealing with this ongoing problem with my wipers.

Safelite Autoglass installed new glass on driver side door Honda Civic. First complaint: glass that technician brought is very poor quality (it is thinner than original Honda glass and has some spots that visible on sun if you look on sharp angle). Second major complaint, that technician remove away water barrier that goes between door panel and metal door frame and prevents a water to get inside a car. He argued me that I do not need it. On my questions does he think that Hondas engineers less smarter him and video on YOUTUBE how to install glass is wrong, he says that it looks like. I do not know where Safelite get such employees?

After 15 minutes discussion with his manager over a phone he put it back, but did not sealed. He says that he does not have silicone... After another 10 minutes discussing with his manager again and refusing to pay $100 deductible, he removed door panel again and resealed water barrier (Now, he founds sealer in his truck). I am glad that he did this glass installation on my driveway and I saw his quality. Now you should understand what kind of quality they provide in shop where owner cannot see process of glass installation. If something you will see a water in your car after installation new glass on door, know, that water barrier is missing on this door. Stay away from them. Better pay more and get job done correctly.

I work on customer's equipment for a living; I feel I have a good idea on how the equipment should be respected. That is the issue I had with Safelite. The whole job left me feeling dissatisfied. I would never leave equipment in this condition. Our vehicle is under two years old, I take great care of it, and expect technicians to respect that. After the Safelite technician left, I found a plastic upper cowl clip in my driveway. Disappointed, I opened the hood to find which one was missing. As it turns out, over half of them were not replaced! I can only assume he didn't think I'd notice?

To intentionally leave parts off my car is infuriating, even if they are merely clips. They are not expensive, and had the technician brought it to my attention that they were lost or broken, I would not be writing this review. But the missing clips, paired with globs of glue all over the dash and hood, bits of foam all over the interior and a good 20 minutes worth of scrubbing all the adhesive inside and outside of the windshield with alcohol, I am just not impressed. Not at all. I will not use Safelite in the future. The technician was friendly, but his work was unacceptable. I have of course contacted Safelite, who apologized. But that doesn't fix the issue that their technicians are doing shoddy work.

Then they said I had a bad switch. So I told them to close my window and he did. The technician said to bring it after I purchase the switch. I did and now my window is half opened. They said they have never seen anything like this and it has to be the electrical system. I’m done. I just want my window closed. I don’t have to open it. I force to take it to the dealership where I will more than likely, be overcharged. And I have to try to get a refund for the motor regulator. I’m very disappointed.

    I don't know which thing was the worst in my experience with Safelite auto, yesterday July 28, 2017. Was it: 1. The fact that my appointment was scheduled between 8 am and noon, but the technician did not show up until 2:15 pm; 2. The fact that I called at 11 am to check on the estimated arrival time of the technician but wasn't told that he was running extremely late; 3. The fact that I called again at 2 pm to be told that it was terrible that the technician had never called me and that he was on his way; 4. The fact that I was assured more than once - when I booked the appointment, when I re-checked my appointment on Wednesday morning; and when I called at 11am the day of the appointment to find out when the technician would arrive - that the technician would call me 1/2 hour before arriving, yet he NEVER called and obviously never intended to call since he showed up 15 minutes after I checked on him at 2pm;

    5. The fact that I had to take an entire day off of work - use a valuable annual leave day wasted sitting at home trapped waiting for 6 hours for a technician; or, 6. The fact that the technician had the unmitigated gall to ask me to give him all "10's" on his customer survey review? You decide. I just know that I will be contacting my insurance company (USAA) to express my extreme dissatisfaction with Safelite and my recommendation that they choose another windshield replacement company with which to do business. I am not asking for much. I would have been fine with the lateness of the technician - I certainly understand that things happen, traffic is bad, etc. I only ask that I would have been given the consideration of a simple phone call explaining that the technician was running very later. I do not think that is an unreasonable expectation.

Stay AWAY from all Safelite businesses! This review is mainly for the one based out of Greenville NC. They are the most unprofessional rude people I have ever had to deal with. I had an appointment scheduled for Friday June 30th anytime between 8am-12pm. I received a confirmation email Friday morning from my tech Ronald. It said he was glad to help me and would see me shortly. I waited and waited and... waited. Finally lunch rolls around and I have heard from no one. Then I receive a call from the Greenville office. The girl told me that the techs had called out. And that I would need to reschedule. I was very confused because the tech had sent a email that morning. And I personally thought to wait until the very last minute of my appointment time to tell me no one was even coming was unprofessional. I wasted my entire morning. So I called the Raleigh office. She was absolutely no help. And transferred me back to Greenville.

They rescheduled me for today Monday July 3rd. I specifically told the girl from Greenville on the phone to please make sure they were here before 12 as I would be gone the afternoon. She told me she made note of it on my information. Well here we are Monday July 3rd. I received no email this morning. So with my experience from Friday I decided to call the home office. Only to have to deal with a complete ignorant rude lady. Who proceeded to tell me no one was coming again today. And she then told me I should calm down because their system is "flawed" and that they are working on it. I said "excuse me" and she said we are "FLAWED."

I was then becoming a bit enraged at her life rudeness and the simple fact she didn't care. I then proceeded to tell her I read all the reviews from Google and Facebook. And that I already rescheduled with another glass company. And according to their reviews they probably didn't need to touch my car anyways. She kept on trying to interrupt me as I was talking. Never in my life have I been so disrespected by a business. Just stay AWAY.

The amount was $311.20, 244.95 price plus disposal, mobile service and tax. When my truck came back in a month later, I tried to schedule again for today. Another 5 hour loss of salary, now 4:35 p.m. and not a word, also because of Safelite mistake was given a $50.00 discount but the math is wrong.

Now 282.79 total, 208.95 glass, plus disposal, mobile service and tax, more like $30.00 discount. Also got 2 emails first was right price, but second confirmation now shows total $565.69 will be due. Not only is this so very wrong price, but now lost 10 hours work waiting, for wrong price and still no word. If they're not here in 25 minutes or before 5 then they can go away for life! Just after posting this very message to Contact us on Safelite, I received a call telling me he was late and would be later getting here. Now I have lost 10 hours work waiting on Safelite. In their confirmation they say they have reserved their very important time for you, yet they can't keep their appointments. They can't add because there $50.00 discount is a total scam, more like less than $30.00 and then they only call back after you file a complaint.

Safelite is so very inconsiderate. Also for their life warranty. I have a 2012 Ford E 250 Van, that Safelite replaced windshield just over a year ago. I started noticing a very high pitch noise when driving that. Eventually I found was air leaking thru the seal they made. I currently drive every day with duct tape down one side of my windshield from just poor workmanship. Do yourself a favor, don't fall for the cheaper price scam. Hire a company that keeps the appointments and their lifetime promise. Safelite are liars and could care less about your losses of income, yet their time is so important. Saint Louis MO, Friday May 5th, 2017 I had an appointment with Safelite to replace my windshield because of a stress crack starting on the drivers side. The tech examined the crack, and verified that it was a stress crack, and that it would be covered under warranty. A few minutes later the tech told me, and showed me that he would not be able to do the work that day because the new glass had a chip in it, and although it was near the edge, and my trim would cover it, that it would most likely crack and spread in a short time. I agreed that it would not be a good idea to put in that particular windshield, and made a new appointment.

Wednesday May 10th, 2017, a different tech showed up to replace my windshield. He told me that there was a tiny chip that caused the crack. I could not see it. I rubbed my finger over it to see if cleaning the area would help me see it. It did not, nor did I feel a chip when I ran my finger over it. So, I said, "Does this mean you will not cover it with warranty?" The tech said that he could not cover it. I told him that the tech that came on Friday verified that it was a stress crack. The tech (Dana) again, said that "it's not a stress crack". I was irritated and told Dana that I would not pay for the service and that I would call the company. I called the company, and they took a few moments and told me that since the first tech said that it was a stress crack that it would be covered, and they would get a tech to come back out the same day to install a windshield under warranty.

A few moments later, Dana, the second tech, called me and said he had spoken with his boss, and that since it was determined by the first tech to be under warranty he would come back and do the work. But, he tried to lecture me first on how this shouldn't be covered, and when he was done. I informed him that I had called his headquarters and already got the go ahead because they were honoring what the first tech had told me. He then tried to tell me that I never told him about the windshield being verified by the first tech. I sternly told him that I did tell him. How could his boss have told him to do the repairs under warranty, and why would he have called his boss in the first place if I hadn't told him this? So, a boss here in town, had to inform the employee of the policies.

Headquarters followed through on their policies and I am grateful for it, and have a new windshield now. But, I still don't understand the obstinate treatment I got from Dana, the second tech. He could have called his boss right when we had the conversation at first and verified everything, but instead took it upon himself to insist that he could not do the work under warranty.

Since it was raining they could not do it. So we rescheduled and again they canceled because of weather. We made three appts total. Jason even came to my car once after me waiting all day for them to come but it started misting by the end of the day and he asked if I "wanted to risk it". He explained that if it didn't seal properly it was unsafe so I said no. They called and asked if I wanted to come to Bangor one hour away and I said I could not, I needed to work but they booked me a in-shop appt anyway.

I called them at 7:30 am Monday on a sunny beautiful day and asked them to come to my work and they said they were booked up. I said I should be on top of the list since I have been canceled so many times. I explained that my son was having a driver's test the next day at 1 and they said they were too busy. I later called the company and was begging them to fix it that day. They said no. I called my insurance company asking them to call Safelite and they were also told no. When I went the next day for my son’s driver's test hoping since it was on the passenger side it would be ok but no. Like I feared they would not let my son take the test he had been nervously preparing for. He had to reapply to take it and we don’t know when that will be.

Very stressful, uncaring, unorganized people in Bangor, Maine. I still don’t understand how if you are on a list to get your windshield fixed why you do not stay on top of the list or at least a priority. They could leave a few slots open after rainy weather to get the people in who have been waiting the longest. And when a customer has a special circumstance and begs them to come they don’t care!

They scratched the outside door and left glass all over the next parking space. I told them I would not pay until most of the glass is removed. He stated that temper glass will not hurt anything and I stated it does to the appearance of the court. So I gave him a broom since he said the vac could not get it up. However I had to finish the cleanup.

Several hours later I went out and noticed that my auto lock on that side would lock sometime and sometime not and the airbag light indicated that there was a fault on the side they had a problem replacing the panel back on. I called Safelite and they made an appointment for me to come to the shop. When I took it a hour later a rep came and told me that I had to take it to BMW because they are not responsible for the airbag but fixed the lock. I stated, "Your tech did something to the sensors" and he stated he did not and is not responsible and would not pay for it and just walked away. I told him "I will make a complaint to everyone to include BBB." They should state before the job of any repair that such will happen and give the customer the option to take it to the dealer.

Safelite Rep. epoxied the glass and said I would still see the repair - neat! Right in front of the driver! He left and later I ran my fingernail across the glass and the glass still had an sharp edge on the hole. Obviously it will ruin my windshield wiper. Safelite said to bring the car to their shop and someone would look at it.

I complained to my insurance company (USAA is Great!) and they arranged for another company to replace my windshield. The Safelite repair still had visible cracks and isn't like they advertise on TV. If the chip had not been directly in front of the driver I would have bought a repair kit and fixed it myself, demonstrated on-line. Now I know never to use Safelite.

My windshield got hit which created a crack. I called my insurance company to file a claim. I have full coverage, therefore windshield was covered. I contacted Safelite setting up an appointment on the morning of 4/3/17. On 4/1/17 I received an phone call from Safelite stating the tech would be running late on 4/3/17. Therefore he would not get to me until afternoon. I informed them that would not work for me since I had a afternoon appointment. Therefore we rescheduled for 4/8/17. On this date the tech informs me that they did not have the correct windshield for my car. They also stated that payment would be out of pocket for me. I then informed them that my insurance was covering it. I also seen insurance info on techs paperwork. I produced the reference number. I was told that since the reference number started with the letter L, it meant it was not covered.

I informed them that I would take it up with insurance. Since they had the incorrect windshield we had to reschedule once again for 4/15/17. On the morning of said appointment, I received a phone call stating they could not find the molding for windshield. Said I would have to reschedule once again. Three strikes and you're out. On 4/17/17 I called my insurance company to get another company to replace windshield. I informed them what first tech told me about out of pocket due to reference number started with L. Insurance company informed me that all their reference numbers start with L and that windshield was covered. Seems to me as if someone is double dipping. Having customer pay out of pocket and also insurance company paying. I did go with another company replacing windshield. I will Never recommend Safelite.

I have an extended warranty through Nissan for auto glass chip repair. The company I have the extended warranty with called Blue Steel Protection hooked me up with Safelite Auto Glass repair out of Searcy Arkansas. The "tech" came to my house to repair the chip. He came and got me about 5 mins into the repair to tell me my windshield cracked during the repair. I now had along with the original chip, 3 new cracks ranging in size of 2-3 inches in my windshield. Which since that day (4/12/17) have all grown to about 10 inches in length. Today is 4/15/17. The "tech" said that Safelite would replace my windshield, and someone would contact me within the hour and that they had to find the windshield for my 2016 Nissan Frontier. No one called. I called them 4 hours later. They said they were still trying to locate a windshield and would contact me as soon as they talked to my insurance about it.

Of course the next day 4/13/17 I had to call them again. This time I was told that my extended warranty through Blue Steel only repaired chips and does not do windshield replacement. I asked the lady on the phone, "Why would you be contacting the insurance? They didn't break my windshield, your 'tech' did." I chipped it, HE broke it. Safelite broke my windshield and basically said "you have to pay for it, not our problem". BUT... they could replace it for me, at my cost of course. That's the definition of a "scam". "Oops, we tried to fix your chip and it accidentally broke. But if you pay me more money I'll replace it".

I called Blue Steel Protection and told them they were also partially responsible for the break because they called and set me up with these rip-off artist. Blue Steel also refused to help. Monday morning I have to pay to have my windshield replaced for about $300.00 for a break I had NOTHING to do with. And then once that is done, I'm headed to the county court house to file a Small Claims suit on Safelite. Wish me luck.

I had a guy from there come on Friday and he examined it said it's a stress crack and covered by warranty. But it was looking like rain and he couldn't replace it that day so rescheduled for Tuesday. A different guy came on Tuesday and proceeded to poke the crack with a sharp instrument that made a chip and then says, "It's a rock impact," and I would have to pay for replacement. I said, "No, I was already told it's under warranty. I'm not paying." He said he would have the other guy that had already told me it was under warranty replace it then.

2 hours later I get a call from yet a different guy that says he will come and look at it and decide if it is covered. But since dumbass #2 made a chip in it, it's not going to be covered. I called the office and told them all this. She talks to a manager and says they WILL cover it because they had told me they would and will be out in 2 hours. 1 hour later I get another call from someone else saying now they won't cover it. Took my 09 Honda Civic in to Safelite via State Farm's recommendation for a replaced windshield due to a chip that began spreading into a good size crack. Service was normal, took a bit longer than expected and everything seemed great at first. They even washed our windows and vacuumed the front free of charge! It wasn't until I was back at home that I noticed the damages. There are numerous places where the rubber is not tight against the windshield and we're worried come the first rainstorm if it is actually properly sealed at all. As if that weren't enough, the entire panel on the driver's side connecting the bumper to the door is dented in making the door frame rub against the panel (with such a pleasant grinding metal sound which also is beginning to chip the paint) each time it is opened and closed.

I'm afraid I traded a windshield crack for a grinding metal door and leaky windshield, but hey, at least my windows are clean! We are currently attempting to resolve this issue with Safelite and will update this review with the outcome. Regardless of if they fix this or not, it should never have happened in the first place. As an auto glass repair shop you would think they know how to repair and replace glass in autos... While not damaging the auto in the process.

When I called the toll free number I was told the parts had been ordered but the truth was they hadn't. And that was only the beginning... once the windows were installed the operable front window needed to be returned to the shop, wind could be heard and it required an adjustment. When the Irvine shop took my door apart they dented it. I had to rent another car for 5 additional days while my car was in the shop for body work. The store is impossible to reach directly and I spent many hours on hold and talking with executive services working out the details. They paid for the rental and damages but it took too much of my time and they could have cared less. I finally got a resolution but will not EVER recommend Safelite.

I had a small crack in my windshield that extended well over 12 inches during some extremely cold weather. I contacted my insurance company who advised me they worked through Safelite. I was hesitant but they came out to me compared to me going to the dealers body shop and having them do the work (if only I had known they would be the ones to do it correctly). The Safelite guy arrived and was nice and eager to get the work done. He assured me it wouldn't be long and he would clean up afterwards leaving no trace of trash. On the cleanup Safelite receives a 10 but that's where it ends.

When the work was complete and the worker was gone, I noticed that the molding was loose and not tight against the body of the car (frame around the window). I was concerned and called Safelite back explaining my concerns. They sent the repairman back out, it was three days later as I called them the second day after the work, good timing. When he got there I pointed out the flimsy rubber molding they replaced for the solid and tight seal that came from the manufacturer. He said not to worry that the glue would eventually dry and it would settle (still drying three days later, really?). I pointed out that had been three days and if the product was not molded yet it was faulty.

I elaborated by explaining if the glue wasn't dry, driving and rain or other inclement weather could shift the molding causing future sealing issues. He looked at me confused and stated "well it's aftermarket parts, we don't have the ability to replace the molding with OEM parts so therefore the work can be imperfect." So of course I said "are you stating Safelite does substandard or other than perfect" work. He then states, ready for it "I don't speak on behalf of Safelite." I said "I would argue that point since you're wearing their shirt and driving their van and receiving a paycheck with the Safelite name on it. He kind of just looked at me, paused for a bit and asked me if I wanted another "other than perfect" rubber molding installation. I kindly declined. I asked what happens when water starts coming through and rotting the metal and causing leaks. He stated Safelite gives a lifetime warranty.

I called Safelite and they assured me there was also a lifetime warranty and that any damage from faulty work or parts were also covered. Well after some time, I've found water gets under the drivers side rug. It's been getting much worse to the point that there's a mildew type smell when it rains or I go through a car wash. For the longest time I was unable to find the issue. After some research, I've found numerous other owners of my similar vehicle that have had their windshields replaced by substandard work practices have found the workers that have replaced their windshields are to blame. There is a common issue that's missed by inexperienced workers and those that don't pay attention to detail.

To end it, Safelite said I must prove that the leak from my windshield must be linked to Safelite's work. Well, it's your molding, your product, your work and no one else has touched it. I had my windshield replaced through my insurance as it's an item that's covered at no cost to me so it's recorded. Look at the reviews on this site. They have about 1 star, we can't all be wrong. Go to the dealer, I wish I had.

When I came home to observe the job, I was completely shocked at the poor overall quality in the 'final' condition of the install. The NEW windshield had several dime size divots in it and the technicians absolutely mutilated the rubber gaskets and left the edge of the glass exposed. There is no way this windshield will be 'waterproof'. I could not have anticipated a worse job! My youngest child could have done much better! This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. If I could give zero stars I would. I only chose them based on my insurance co's (shame of you Geico) recommendation. Appointment was booked for between 12 and 5 pm. "Victor" showed up at 5:30 obviously in the dark. After putzing around for a bit we were informed the new glass had a crack in it and he would have to come back the next day. I contacted Safelite at A.M. the next morning. 3 different reps gave me 3 different "stories" but the bottom line was that no one had any record of what transpired the previous day. After sitting on hold for close to 25 minutes, the call center finally got me thru to the shop, who also had no record of this.

I explained what had happened. Was placed on hold and then when the rep came back on the phone, he miraculously was aware of the situation. I was then told they had to order (aren't they a glass replacement company??) and it would not be in until "TONIGHT". I don't think so. I am not losing another day. Get someone there today! They relented and gave me an appointment. I advised it had to be bet 3 and 5 as I had to take my grandson to the doctor. I was told no because 5 is the last appointment because it dark. Really. Are they kidding. You came at 5:30 the day before. They gave me the appointment. I called Safelite to replace a windshield for my Toyota FJ Cruiser because my company employee website says they offer us a discount. Safelite assured me I was getting a great deal because of my employment and was told I will very happy with the price. Something about the way the Safelite employee was talking made me wonder. I had my brother in law call a few days later and ask what it would cost to get a replacement for the exact same vehicle. He was quoted the same price I was. When he asked why it was so high, Safelite deducted $60 because he was a first time customer! I called Safelite to ask about my appointment and ask them if I was getting this great price because of my company. When "AJ" at Safelite told me yes, I asked her to compare the charges on my "discounted" work order to that of my brother in law's. There was silence then she offered a host of possible scenarios as to why.

I told her I was there when he called, he was quoted the same exact rate as me, after he asked why the cost was so high, they took $60 off. She asked if she could call me back. She did and made my new adjusted price, $1 less than my brother in law's. I asked if that price included all labor and parts, which is supposed to be included as everything needs to be replaced. It did. She went on to tell me I should contact my company to discuss the rates they offer. I have no idea how that would work. My company doesn't offer any copay and has zero control over what an employee pays to repair or service his personal vehicle. It makes no sense. The fact is that the cost is determined by Safelite and Safelite alone. They didn't expect me to shop them and swallowed the "Wow, I love this great discounted company rate Safelite gives me" hook, line, and sinker.

Funny they didn't suggest I contact my company HR to thank them. They didn't get concerned until I asked how a person without an employee discount gets a better rate than a person with one. When Safelite saw both orders for the same car in the same city they realized they looked bad. The fact is Safelite didn't give anything to me because of my company discount, so if you're expecting one shop them. DO NOT MENTION ANY TYPE OF DISCOUNT OR COUPONS UNTIL SAFELITE QUOTES YOU A PRICE. Then insist on that first time $60 discount too.

If they didn't come to my office to perform the work, I would have chosen another business. I do not like being lied to and when asked where exactly is my employee discount, I was told to call my employer? Well I will place this story on our company website. When dealing with Safelite for the replacement of any vehicle windows, buyer beware! The Safelite employees quoting prices are less than truthful, if not out and out liars.

Stay away from this repair shop. I would have give this shop Zero star if that was an option. My insurance set up the repair appointment with this shop; unfortunately, the job was not done correctly. My windshield had a chip, but after the repair was done the damage area had gotten larger. Also, during the repair process, the technician asked me about if he should fill this chip by hand or machine. I told him he is the professional, and he should make the decision. Of course, I should have seen that is a huge red flag and stopped him to move forward with the repair. Sadly, I did not really think twice, until the work was done... the chipped area has become much more noticeable and larger.

I contacted the customer service, and requested an operation manager to come out and check on the work. After checking the work, the operation manager concluded that the chip was not filled complete, and it might need to work or the windshield will need to be replace. However, he refused to take the ownership or responsibility of this poor quality. He insisted that since I have assigned the waiver to OK them to work on my car, they are not responsible for any damages during the process.

Furthermore, Safelite's executive service team told me since my windshield's already broken prior to the repair, I cannot hold them responsible for a broken windshield even though there was further damage due to their repair. Now I have to bear all the cost of replacing a windshield out of pocket, and this company is continuing providing poor work to people. Neither the shop nor the company is taking up ownership to fix this problem. I high suggest to look elsewhere when it comes to fix or replace car window.

I have seen Safelite's workmanship deteriorate over the last five years. Long ago a wiser older man came fix my chip in my windshield, then a younger inexperienced worker do a half hearted job then just today, on my new truck they came to do a chip fix and Safelite cracked my windshield to the point that it needs to be replaced. They wouldn't assume responsibility and I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to cover my deductible. I find it ethically wrong to send out techs who are careless and crack windshields and then have the owner of the vehicle pay for their errors.

I called my Toyota dealership and they exclusively partner with Bryan's mobile glass. I called Bryan's and told him what happened and he offered to do the windshield and repair. He even was knowledgeable that my windshield may be heated and would need wiring and planned on bringing both windshield types in case. He also replaces all the rubber molding and ensures to factory standards. Do your homework and use the company your dealership uses. Don't go with Safelite unless you want problems.

I have a Toyota Tacoma pickup that had a damaged windshield from a stone impact. Safelite was called and a tech was schedule for a repair at home. Schedule time was between noon and 5 pm, he arrived slightly late, but that wasn't a problem. He looked over the vehicle and said there was one small rust spot along the roof line that he would have to sand/smoothen out before replacing the window. He proceeds to work about 40 minutes removing the windshield and prepping the surface. The old windshield was placed on its edge alongside his van. Next he sets the replacement windshield in place then after a few minutes he knocks on my door telling me he cannot install the new glass. He stated there is a hole in the frame and company policy states for safety reasons he couldn't install the window. The hole he referred to was at best 2mm in diameter inside the A post in a non-structural area. Not where the rust spot was.

I asked him to explain how this is a safety concern, he couldn't. Then the old windshield he had against his vehicle falls, shattering in my driveway. This tech was of no further help so I contacted the office, they told me it's after hours and a manager will follow up with me in the morning. The tech then takes the shattered windshield and tapes in place on my vehicle puts the parts removed inside the truck and writes in marker across the windshield DO NOT DRIVE. He then tells me to have the vehicle towed, have the hole fixed then he'll replace the windshield. At that point I told him to leave.

The following day I spoke with an area manager (very nice guy) and after another 2 hour wait they agreed to tow the vehicle at their expense to their towing agency shop, and by the way they can fix the hole, of course at my expense. I then contact 2 other recommended auto glass repair shops and they all agreed that Safelite claims were completely egregious. The windshield was replaced later that day by Frontier Auto Glass without any issues, with a warranty and less money. (This vehicle did not have glass coverage.) Interestingly, I was told by another repair shop that this is not uncommon with Safelite? So do your homework.

I had two experiences with Safelite. First, I had a windshield replaced in a newer car. I just had a crack from a rock chip so I did an insurance claim and my insurance recommends Safelite and makes it easiest to book an appointment with them. Guy came out to try to fill-in the chip/crack first (which is free with my insurance). Anyway, he made the small chip/crack even bigger and said the "resin wouldn't take for some reason" and that I'd have to get the whole thing replaced. So made another appointment to get the whole thing replaced ($100 deductible for me). I made sure they ordered genuine OEM glass – since the price difference didn't matter because I was going through insurance, I didn't want to mess with the Safelite-branded glass as it has some poor reviews.

Anyway, tech came out. He was very professional and very good/experienced. Watching/talking with him do the work he was very thorough and clean – patched up a couple tiny rust spots after removing the windshield. He laid the seal stuff perfectly/clean. When he was done, couldn't tell it had been replaced. Same OEM glass, cleanly done. Almost a year later as of the time I'm writing – still perfect. So terrible attempt at filling in the crack/but quality technician replacing the entire windshield.

Anyway another experience. Somebody broke into my car while I was at work one day – shattered the passenger side window, damaged the moulding (trying to pry it). I had nothing valuable in there, just an inconvenience by some thug. So another Safelite claim through my insurance, another $100 deductible. He did the work, but I had many problems. The tech didn't replace the damaged moulding around the window. I asked him. He's like "Oh we don't do that. You could get it at your dealer or something." Seriously? I filed an insurance claim and have a $100 deductible on all damage relating to the incident. You just leave some damage and tell me to fix the rest myself – absolutely ridiculous.

He said “I vacuumed ‘most’ of the glass out of your door.” then proceeded to demonstrate to me that you could still hear glass rattling around inside when the door was shut. He said it should all "fall out on its own." He didn't clean up the tape I had around the window for the temporary cover I had until it was fixed, not the biggest deal but something I'd expect. As a side note, GEICO is great. I called them. They had an adjuster out within 20 minutes to look at it. They were surprised Safelite didn't replace it and said the entire window has to be removed again for it to be replaced. Anyway, a local body shop is going to finish the job Safelite should have done to begin with.

On 6/15/16 a tech came out to replace my windshield and wiper blades. Later that day when I went to drive the car in a rain storm, the wipers did not function properly and only cleared a small portion of the windshield. I tried calling and emailing Safelite and got no response. That afternoon I took my Honda CRV to the dealership and they said the tech had removed an essential part of the wiper arm and they would have to replace it, for $78.58. I scanned and emailed the repair order and my receipt and emailed that to Safelite customer service. Again no response. I stopped payment on the check, thinking that would get their attention. No response. Yesterday, on 8/11/16 I received a call from a collection agency saying Safelite had sicced them on me for "bouncing" a check. Seriously??? I will call my car insurance today and inform them about this experience, and in the future I will not take my insurance's recommendation to use Safelite.

At 4:55 pm I received a call from the supervisor stating that they would not be able to make it out AT ALL that day and wanted to reschedule. I didn't reschedule. I called another service and got my windshield replaced within an hour for cheaper. I will never again even try to give Safelite my business. I was glad that they were able to send somebody to my place of work to fix my windshield, being that I work miles away from the nearest Safelite shop. However, when the repair guy showed up I did not feel comfortable with his appearance because he did not look very professional. He asked if he could move my vehicle to a shaded area because the sun was bearing down and I agreed.

Anyway, almost 45 minutes later the guy comes back him to my work, hands me the keys and says, "I'm sorry but your windshield cracked as I was moving your vehicle to the shaded area, but I tried my best to repair it and keep it from running further!" I called their 800 customer service number to make a claim to try to hold them accountable for what happened and unfortunately they were trying to cover themselves up by saying that it's glass and that it is something that is going to happen. I flat out told them that I did not feel that the guy was qualified to do the job and they did not like that very much. So now I am stuck paying a deductible to my insurance and get a new windshield replaced on my brand-new 2016 pick up.

A rock cracked the window of my brand new (less than 2 months old) Lexus. At the suggestion of my insurance company I called Safelite to replace my windshield. Safelite AutoGlass of Annapolis, MD (1950 West St, Annapolis, MD 21401) responded for a mobile replacement on Saturday July 23, 2016. First, I'll say it was extremely hot when they came to replace the windshield. The two technicians were extremely polite and worked hard in the heat. To start, the techs didn't set the wire cutter correctly and it cracked the window sending glass shards into the engine compartment and onto the hood. Not a big deal, accidents happen.

When they removed the windshield I noticed that the gasket at top of the dash (attached to the vehicle) was torn in two places during the extraction. I asked if they replaced it during the process and was informed that they don't and "it was no big deal." Next I noticed that they cracked the trim molding clips on both side of the vehicle. Again, I asked if they replaced the trim molding and was told that they do not and they would just glue them down. I wasn't feeling great about the process so I called the main office and spoke to the manager, **. ** was polite and said the same thing the techs said, that it was no big deal but everything was guaranteed so I had nothing to worry about.

I had to leave to run an errand. While I was out ** called and informed me that his techs damaged the inside trim of my [brand new] vehicle and would have to return to replace it. He informed me that they would not charge me until everything was replaced to my satisfaction. When I returned the techs were gone and I found the following: tears to the inside trim on both sides of the windshield, tears and a stain at the roof fabric, engine compartment covers that were not replaced or improperly replaced, a missing clip on the engine cover, a broken clip on the engine cover, glass shards on my dashboard, automatic (rain sensing) wipers that no longer work.

I called ** and he asked me to bring the vehicle by the shop; I was unable to do so at the time so I sent him some pictures. He responded that he would contact me "after Monday." We will see what happens next. Pretty frustrating to have this happen on any vehicle but to happen to a brand new vehicle makes it that much worse. It will be a hassle to drop this off to have repairs performed. I'm certainly not comfortable having Safelite do them. I will update this post with the results.

I called the local (Omaha) Safelite and they were apathetic to my request to "re-do" the problem and suggested I have them replace the entire windshield. After going through three (3) levels of management they referred me to the "only person" who could authorize a repair re-do and "He's on vacation till Monday". I asked if he would then please call me on Monday. The "Executive Services Rep" assured me he would. That was two weeks ago. No phone call, nothing. They just don't care. Well, I originally ordered service yesterday at about 4PM. They said they had a slot between then and 6PM with a total price of $108.35, but cancelled my reservation an hour later. In their response, they said that they couldn't do same day orders after 2PM (of course, they say that nowhere on their website). Satellite rescheduled my service for the next morning between 8AM and 12PM. Well, the guy kept calling to delay the service and ended up arriving at about 1PM. I learned that my total price would be $118.38, instead of $108.35 for the same service.

The repair guy had a serious mental impairment. Although I had a very small chip in my windshield (less than the diameter of a dime), he kept telling me that the glass might break completely. He proceeded to take various photographs all around my car, fixating on some bird waste on the rear passenger's side of my car. He did this for more than ten minutes. Eventually, I told him to cancel my order and leave. I never knew it would be such an ordeal to get my little windshield chip repaired. I had to drive 30 miles to a place that repaired it for $49. I later discovered that I could have done it myself (by buying the kit at Advance Auto Parts) for like $10.

The problem is the chip is in the middle of my windshield and is very distracting while I drive. I called customer service after my experience with the tech. After I talked to the supervisor they explained the problem and said they would check in on what occurred. They must have called the local office, because it prompted the manager of the local office to call me. This individual was angry and when I tried to explain what I didn't know about the surface chips and what I discovered... She became furious. I drove almost 2 months with that little crack before trusting Safelite to come "repair" it for me, and the only reason I did was because I was afraid the whole windshield would crack without the repair, plus Allstate paid for it ($60). And he also told me he did not have much experience doing this type of work. I called their warranty department and was told all they could do was give Allstate their $60 back, but I would be responsible for paying $575 (includes a disposal fee & a $25 mobile service fee) for a new windshield. They said they only warranty new windshield replacements, that they do not guarantee their repairs. They said a repair is basically just putting a bandaid over the spot but eventually it is bound to crack.

My husband said this would not have been the case with a good quality company. He had someone else repair a crack in his windshield years ago and it lasted several years without cracking further.
