I haven't even met the rep yet. I scheduled my windshield replacement last Saturday. The earliest opening they had was Wednesday. Wednesday has come and gone and still my windshield is cracked. They canceled due to the rain. Why does that matter? The car is in the garage and not going anywhere. They rescheduled for Monday. I'm just cancelling the appointment and going with someone else after reading the reviews.

I dropped off my jeep for a windshield repair, and they gave it back to me with a damaged bumper on the front passenger side. They wouldn't take responsibility for it and claimed that it was already there and there was no indication where it happened in their facility. I told them to provide me with video footage of their cameras and they told me that they don't have cameras. So they conveniently don't have cameras. This is a company that handles property of their customers all the time and figure not put cameras for situations like this. It is in their best interest not to put cameras because that's the only way someone can prove damage they created. It is an irresponsible way to manage a business. It is a practice that goes along with their other policies that waives them from being responsible for anything.
They make you sign a paper saying that the repair may get worse and that the pressure of the repair process might damage the windshield completely but they'll credit the cost of the repair to the cost of the windshield. To me it sounds like ultimately that's what you're gonna have to do, get a new windshield. There's more I could say to prove they did it but nothing is more definite than video proof. They're an irresponsible company of which you cannot trust. I would say if you are going there, take pictures of your car while the tech is there and review your car after the repair. Or use another company.

Do not use Safelite. They talk the talk but do not walk the walk. The apologies they issue to numerous complaints all over the internet are meaningless as I myself have received numerous promises to fix the problem they left me with. First, they left a dirty mess on my dashboard after the windshield was installed on 2/10/2016. I guess I was lucky- at least I don't have any permanent damage like other Safelite Customers. Second, they knowingly installed the wrong size windshield wipers for which I paid about $22 for by check as requested. Now I know why a check was requested. You can't dispute a check like you can a credit card charge. When I notified Safelite the wrong size windshield wipers were installed they made me take a half a day off of work to wait for the same installer who installed the wrong wipers to come back and install the right ones.
At around the fourth hour, lo and behold the same technician comes back, takes a look at my car and says "Yup. Those are not the right size wipers for your car and I don't have the right size ones with me. I'll come back with the right ones."So, I wait the rest of the day and end up having to take the whole day off of work. Safelite never shows up, I never get a call from Safelite. Finally, I call them on 2/17 (SEVENTEEN DAYS after the mistake was purposefully made). How do I know it was on purpose? Because when I called Safelite the operator who read the technician's (Kirk) notes that stated "Need Honda Dealer wipers" despite the fact Kirk took my check and knowingly installed the wrong wipers anyway. Of course, I got apologies, promises to fix the problem, blah, blah, blah just as obsequious as the apologies from Safelite to the negative reviews on internet.
It's now been 8 days of record low temperatures with ice on my windshield in the morning when I take my son to school and I finally just went to O'Reilly Auto Parts who installed the right wipers for free (No, my vehicle does not require Honda Dealer wipers). DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use Safelite. They maliciously stole my money for the wipers and left a hot mess for me to clean up after they installed my windshield. And by the way, the technician could see (as anyone can) that I am disabled. Hello Safelite: My Confirmation Number is ** and all of the above are documented in your own system.

I recently had my window, which had a very small chip in it fixed. The women who came out was friendly and efficient and that is where my satisfaction ends. The window looked worse than when she started it and I mentioned that to her. She reported that was "normal". Fast forward a few months and now the area is splintering! NOT FIXED AND DEFINITELY NOT RIGHT. Safelite representative DAVID was very rude and condescending when I tried to speak with customer services about it.
They would refund my insurance company the money for the fix and that was all they could do. He did not want to hear that the issue was NOT the "1%" that it doesn't work with. He only wanted to lecture me on how they would not give me a new window and that no company would guarantee their work for the little amount of money they receive from the insurance company. Now, as they have screwed up the window into something very large that will require a new window that will have to come out of my pocket! Never will I use Safelite again and I will warn anyone who asked me about not using them as well.

I wish I would have checked reviews before I allowed them to touch my car. They came to my house to repair a rock chip located on the opposite side of my oil change sticker on the windshield. The chip was slightly larger than the tip of a ball point pen and no cracks had appeared from this tiny chip, and I drove it for a month and a half before I thought about fixing tiny chip since it had not ever formed a crack or become larger, but I was thinking an ounce of prevention... So I decided to have it fixed just in case, especially since it was a brand new car. I called Safelite, they came out the same day I called and did the repair. I immediately noticed the chip now had about a 1/4" crack, which they said is expected, but that it would not grow larger after that. Then I noticed they did the repair without removing the oil change sticker on the opposite side of the glass, which resulted in permanently affixing the sticker to my windshield.
I was not pleased at that point, but just kept quiet because at least the chip and now crack also was not going to ever get bigger, so I thought. About 2 weeks later, the crack went half way across the drivers side of windshield. It is now about 12" and still growing. I called Safelite right away, and they pretty much laughed at the idea of replacing my windshield at their cost, but will happily charge us $450.00 for a new windshield. After my husband argued a bit, they offered to give us a $100.00 discount on the cost of a new windshield. I can't help but think there is a scam here somewhere. Charging $70 to "fix" chip and then 2 weeks later you can come back and spend $450.00 for a new windshield that you might not have ever needed. They did not speak with me before the repair began in my driveway, they just went to work and then brought in a brochure and a receipt when they finished.
Had I been told ahead of time that they do not guarantee their work, and that they could actually make the situation worse, I would have never let them touch my car, and just take my chances with the tiny chip, or find a company with a far better reputation for repair! I will now be getting my windshield fixed at my expense, but I will not be giving them any money and I urge others to think twice before you do as well. I will be searching for a service department, that will stand by their work, reputation, and appreciate their customers enough to treat them right. Hopefully that still exists in our country!

2 weeks ago, I had a chip the size of a dime repaired by Safelite mobile repair. Just today, the chip spread to about 24" in length across the repair. Called the claim service and they told me that it was disappointing and that this only happens to 1% of the repairs. They advertise that this repair prevents the cracking involved with cold weather defrosting, but clearly does not. She said that I would still need to replace the windshield at the original deductible cost from 2 weeks ago. So basically I just got scammed for whatever they charged my insurance company to make the so called repair.
Wasted half of my Saturday waiting around (1 pm to 5 pm) for the repair person to fix my car. I suppose my time is not valuable to Safelite, because now I've invested that time, plus another 2 hrs for them to replace the windshield. It will end up sitting there all day since I have to work that day and schedule with other people to drop me off. What is the purpose of repairing the windshield, which you couldn't even tell it had been touched after the "repair." I don't even think they repaired it to be honest, but I can't prove it. She was there for like 10-15 mins from the time she got there and called me when she was finished.
In my opinion, don't waste your time with windshield repairs. You will end up wasting twice the amount of time since their repairs don't have any warranty and they don't stand behind their repairs. It's like buying a tv from Best Buy, open it up, the screen is cracked and they don't even exchange for another tv. Thanks for making me use my personal time off for repairing and now replacing my windshield. You don't want me to pay $150 for my deductible, yet you don't mind using 6 hours of my work time. It is apparent from this and other reviews that Safelite uses this windshield repair service as a scam to rip off the insurance companies and eventually trickles down to the insured. They obviously get paid for repair that they have zero responsibility of honoring the work, so it's guaranteed money for them.

Let Safelite talk me out of using OEM replacement windshield by stating they meet DOT specifications. This is both misdirection and misleading as DOT references SAE Z26:2005 which list MINIMUM requirements based on past history using test established in 1977 that have not been updated. OEM Glass exceeds DOT SAE Z26:2015 because of the warrant and liability cost the industry faces. Buying Sorrylife glass because it is quick and easy will result in your dissatisfaction. My mistake resulted in the first little rock ping splitting the new windshield in my 2006 Tahoe eighteen days after installation, from the bottom to the top. Safelite refused to provide any satisfaction. My previous windshield had laughed at those strikes for eight years before it finally cracked.

I had my windshield replaced on April 7. On Jan 10 all of my dashboard brake lights came on (Brake, ABS, stability control) and my rear brake lights stopped working. The Toyota place mechanic told me that my windshield had been leaking, likely since April, and the water had corroded the sensor mechanism that tells the car that the brakes are on. Repair at least $400, not counting removal and replacement of the windshield.
I notified Safelite. They initially said they could not examine the car to determine liability for 4 days. I insisted that they pay for a rental until that time, which, after some struggle, they did. They moved up the exam of the car to tomorrow and I was told I would be called with the results of their review. No one called. I called them today (am in fact still on hold). No one seems to have written any notes about what happened. I am told that my windshield was replaced yesterday by a Safelite mechanic. This was never mentioned to me even as a possibility. I was not notified, and I did not give my consent for this work to be done. No one seems to know anything about liability for the rest of the damage to the car (in fact, no one knows anything about any damage to the rest of the car at all). No manager is available to speak to me.
I have actually never experienced such DISMAL service in my 42 years of life. I am baffled at how poorly -- and it seems, dishonorably -- this company appears to be managed. I am not a litigious person, but wow this makes me want to call my lawyer. How does this company stay afloat? Market forces are clearly not working here.

I had a very small rock impact spot on the windshield of my Chrysler 300, damage... the size of a pencil eraser. The Safelite mobile tech came out and began to repair my windshield while I sat in the car. He stated it would take about 20 mins. The repair took an hour, not to mention he caused the crack to become larger now a 5-inch crack across my windshield. He called his home-base location and they stated they would not charge me the $50 since the repair failed, really! That's it!! Now I have to file a claim on my insurance for total windshield replacement. Something that I shouldn't have had to do. I am a very dissatisfied customer. This was my first & last time to see them.

I took my car to the Westminster, California location to have my auto glass repaired. They suggested that I purchase new windshield wipers as well. A couple weeks later, when it rained, my left windshield wiper came apart from the arm. Over the course of the next three months I had between six and eight technicians have to come to my work to replace the windshield wipers. Each technician had an excuse for why the previous windshield wiper wasn't working properly. I constantly called and spoke to corporate about my frustration my windshield wipers continue to fall apart and my safety was in danger as I drove to work two hours a day with faulty windshield wipers.
After getting extremely angry, I finally got a hold of the manager and I asked him if there was a chance that Honda needed to be the ones to replace my windshield wipers and the manager agreed. Several months later and several technicians later finally it was admitted to me that Honda should've replaced my wipers and that Safelight's wipers were cheap and constantly faulty. So it is now 10 months later and I'm finally going to Honda dealership do you have them fix what Safelight ruined. This company has poor customer service they dropped the ball and all aspects of business and they have cheap Products.
As I read through all the negative reviews I am completely disgusted and so disappointed that I wasted my time and my money and I am still not satisfied I should not have to spend my Saturday at Honda 10 months later to fix something that should've been fixed. From auto glass to windshield wipers to Customer Service, this company consistently disappoints customers and I'm just another disappointed customer on their list.

My windshield was replaced in December 2013. Instead of using a plastic trim/molding similar to the original one that held the windshield earlier, they used a very stiff one which had grooves similar to those found on a picture frame. Where the two vertical moldings interface with the top horizontal one, they look exactly like a picture frame. Also the top one has gutter-like groove which simulate a stream when it rains. Of late, the interfacing points have parted making the water from top molding find its way to the point where the windshield touches the body of the car. This has revealed their poor workmanship that had been concealed by the molding as water trickles inside the car at both corners, landing on both the driver and passenger seat. You can't imagine that I've to spread bathroom towel to create a dry seat.
I've talked to Safelite who sent a technician. The technician said that my car has rust and that he feared removing the windshield rest, the rust is so bad to a point that it becomes difficult to fit it back. The truth of the matter is that there is no rust on that car except a slight one at the center, which is not associated at all with the leaks. The fact that the technician is talking about removing the windshield speaks well of the poor workmanship. He must have noticed that even the vertical moldings are coming out of position. What sucks more is the fact that they are saying that they are not responsible in case the windshield breaks during removal. This is rip-off, otherwise how can they justify the $$ they claimed from AAA.

They didn't order my window when I called. When the day of my appointment came, they called and said "Oh we don't have your window. You'll have to call and make another appointment." This after waiting 5 days for my appointment with no window. They then told me I had never made an appointment at all. Then, they told me it was because there was a snowstorm the delivery was delayed. Then they told me they just couldn't find the glass. I called the dealership, and they had the glass. They told me Safelite had called them and knew they had it, but didn't want to order it because they thought it cost too much. So here I am, 10 days after a broken window, after at least 15 calls to Safelite, hours literally hours on hold, and still no window, and no appointment. Safelite you seriously suck.

I had the rear window of my Chrysler Town and Country. They used the wrong glass with a tint to begin with. The tech had to remove the spoiler with the brake lights to replace the cheaper glass, but when he put the spoiler back he never secured it. The spoiler came off on the highway while I was traveling over 60 mph. The car behind me had to swerve to avoid it and almost cost an accident. This company is not professional and should not be in business.

Several long cracks in my factory glass finally made me decide to replace my windshield on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My sister had used Safelite without any problems so I decided to go with them. My first installation on 9/25/15 went smoothly or so I thought. It wasn't until after I had to travel out of town on the freeway a few days later that I noticed a loud, buzzing sound that was not there before. I realized it would only happen when I went 70 mph or higher. I contacted Safelite and they sent another technician to evaluate it on 10/7/15. The technician determined it might be due to the rearview mirror that was not properly reattached. He firmly reattached it but after traveling with me on the freeway at 70mph, the noise was still there. He determined I needed another windshield and proceeded to install it in the early evening hours.
I did not drive my vehicle until the very next morning at 5:30am. It was raining heavily during this trip but I made it to work safely. When I proceeded to leave work after a 6 hour shift, the first stop light I was at - my car's horn began to honk involuntarily and the rear wiper also began to move involuntarily and all dashboard screens flashed on and off and the car's engine turned off. The check engine light stayed on. Luckily, no one was yet behind me at the light and I was able to turn the car back on. While driving to the nearest service station on the freeway, the car horn again began to honk while driving. I was afraid it would die in the middle of the freeway and I proceeded to exit the first exit I came to. I had a gut feeling that these problems were related to the recent windshield installation and rain.
I remembered that the Safelite auto shop was nearby and I pulled into their parking lot. I spoke with the manager and explained what had happened - he proceeded to evaluate the installation and could not find anything wrong with it. He was cooperative and told me that I could take it to the nearest Jeep service department for diagnosis and Safelite would cover the diagnostic fee ($140). If it was found that the problem was related to Safelite, they would take care of it. Jeep was either lazy or incompetent and just assumed the electrical issues were related to the Total Integrated Power Module (TIPM) and replaced that. Of course, my vehicle was just out of warranty (at 38k) miles and they did not find any water damage on the TIPM and I was out $440. I picked up my vehicle on 10/13 and it seemed to be working fine but there had not been any rain since the initial vehicle failure.
The following week I traveled 3 hours from where I live and it had heavily rained overnight. My vehicle had been parked outdoors and exposed to the rain. I was worried and the next morning as I entered my vehicle and began to reverse, I noticed a few drops of water drip onto my feet from beneath the steering column. I immediately became alarmed and 10 minutes later, the same issue with my car began - the involuntary honking, wipers, screens, and my car stalled in the road. I was able to get it restarted briefly - enough to get the car into a parking lot where it effectively died and did not restart. I had to be towed to the nearest Jeep dealership in another town where they diagnosed a leaky windshield causing rain to drip on the body control module thereby shorting out the ignition control, causing my car to fail.
I called Safelite and they wanted to install a third windshield but were not able to due to the ongoing rain. As I write this, I have a rental car that Safelite arranged for me and they due to replace the windshield a third time tomorrow and have my car towed from the city I was in to the city I live in (3 hours away). While the local Safelite manager has been very cooperative and helpful - I no longer have any faith in their installation process and am fearful of the next time it rains. He himself had told me that the more installations done, the less successful they will be. I asked Safelite if using OEM Jeep glass would make the difference versus the after market factory glass and he told me that it was only the logo that was different and it wouldn't make a difference. I asked if the OEM glass cost more than factory glass and he said, "oh yes - $200 -$300 more."
I think I'm going to trade in my vehicle at this point because I don't want to deal with the problems anymore. While Safelite has covered most expenses and has said they will cover the first misdiagnosis costing me $440 - they cannot reimburse me for the trouble they have caused. The stress, anger, frustration, fear, I've felt has taken a toll on me. I've had to alter plans because of the loss of my vehicle during that trip. I've lost sleep about what my next step should be.

I have used Safelite several times over the years and have always been happy with their service. A few months ago, a tree fell in our drive and, among other things, I had to have the windshield replaced. They came out, did the install, and left. All is well. A few weeks ago, I am sitting in the drive, warming up, and getting ready to go to work and I hear a subtle "pop". And after searching for a moment, see a 4-5" crack at the bottom of the windshield on the passengers side. It was hard to see because most of it was in the very edge and not in the viewing area. I called and made an appointment for a replacement under warranty. In the weeks between original crack and my appointment, the crack extended a great deal as they are prone to do as time goes by.
The day of the appointment, the tech comes out and point out a "impact point" about 6 inches above the original crack but in the extension. It was also under the wiper blade. I explained what happened and he continued to claim an impact point. I sent him on his way. I filed BBB complaint and twice got the same copy-and-paste response about understanding how frustrating a cracked windshield can be but it isn't covered under warranty and they would be happy to give me some piddling courtesy discount. They have no explanation how this happened while sitting still in my drive. No explanation as to how the windshield was damaged under the wiper blade without damaging the blade in any way. No explanation how the impact point is in a part of the crack that didn't even exist at the time I called.
Until today, I was pretty happy with their company. I have no patience with someone who professes to offer a warranty when, in fact, it isn't a warranty and they will never replace a product. I will have my glass replaced somewhere else and let my insurer know how I was treated. Spreading the word in every possible venue may save others from suffering this same problem.

This is USAA's preferred vendor. I chose Safelite, because USAA needles any other vendor you choose, and it delays the repair work being completed. I ordered on a Saturday afternoon and we set up for Sunday, but poor weather delayed until Monday afternoon. The Tech showed up with the wrong piece of glass, and had to wait over an hour to get a replacement. By the time he completed the work, it was well after 7 and he was using a flashlight because it was dark.
The next morning, I went to drive the vehicle and noticed that he didn't clean up afterwards - tape, pieces of plastic and dirt were all over the dash and interior. As I backed up, I then noticed the rear-view mirror was detached. It was shaking and the rain sensor was unplugged. I parked and went to correct the problem through the passenger side. When I opened the door, the passenger side molding, along the windshield, popped out. I pushed it back in, and proceeded to my appointment. Driving on the highway, the rear-view mirror shook violently. I also noticed a buzzing noise, which I was unable to determine where it originated from, since I was driving.
After my appointment, I contacted Safelite to send someone out to reinstall. They complied, and I headed home to wait for the installer. Back on the highway, the noise restarted, and as I looked towards the dash for a source, a piece of the car flew off. The loose molding flew off, and struck a nearby car. At this point, I drove to my local Ford dealership. The repair rep on site said this looked like one of the worst installations he had seen. Due to their workload, I had to schedule an appointment for later in the week, so one of their mechanics can inspect the exterior and interior for further damage. I cancelled my Safelite appointment - there is no way I would let any of their techs touch any of my vehicles. I will update this review once my car has been inspected. I have uploaded pictures to give everyone an idea of what can happen to their car. My Explorer was a great car - and they ruined it.

Need to replace the rear window in my car. Referred to Safelite through my insurance company and got decent quote. When the tech arrived to do the work he did not have the correct glass, this I understood, but was then told it would almost double to replace. This and other explanations said that they quoted me a price based on a part that is no longer available and it would cost more. I say is you provide a quote you stick to it and do what you agreed to instead of relying on the fine print because you could not be bothered to do your homework upfront and provide an accurate quote. I hear they do nice work but they will never touch one of my cars.

Wife was driving her car on the way home, she heard a pop and notice cracks coming up from the bottom of the windshield. When I checked it the cracks spread from a central point outward, and all of the cracks were on the inside layer of the glass. When I took it in the manager came out to look. It wasn't two seconds she determined it was the wiper arm that caused the crack. Really?? While the car was in motion, 90 degrees and clear. The wiper arms have never hit the glass since they replaced it before. Now, in not so many they are calling me a liar. Do not use Safelite AutoGlass. I had them come out and replace 2 windshields on my trucks. One truck was not even licensed yet. I took it to town for the first time today 3 days after having it put in. I went 1 mile traveling 20 MPH me and my brother saw a very small pea sized rock come up and fall onto the windshield cracking it. I drove back to my house 1 mile and it had 3 cracks coming off of it. A half inch long by the time I got home. I noticed the day it was put in that the glass is very wavy and ripply looking, nonetheless the glass is extremely cheap thin and weak. I called them and they would not even begin to consider replacing it for me in any way, or helping me out... I am very concerned now I have this glass in two of my trucks that I travel with all the time.
So I will be out another 600 dollars to get OEM glass put back in cause I do not trust this cheap crap from Safelite. One of these trucks has had a crack for three years on Ford glass that was caused by a fist sized rock going 80 MPH fell off of a dump truck and it was not even as big of a crack as this one from a pea sized rock today. Just wanted to warn people to spend their hard earned money elsewhere on a quality replacement. Safelite's warranty is absolutely useless. The warranty brochure even says leaks aren't covered, yet they mislead you saying it is a nationwide lifetime guarantee, and they won't do a thing about it for you. I am not the only one left wishing I hadn't used them.

I removed the clip to bend it back and found the trim that is supposed to cover the mount under my passengers side seat. Looking at my car on the outside, I noticed that the trim that is on the sides of the window and extend along the roof was sticking out and I could see the clips underneath on both sides. Safelite was called on June 26 to complete a replacement windshield. After having full access to all necessary information, they ordered the wrong glass and didn't figure this out until the installer arrived. After being consulted by their tech on July 4, a new glass was supposedly ordered which would take 10 days to arrive. Fast forward 10 days and, yet again, the wrong glass was ordered AGAIN. The installer said that the right glass was in the warehouse but must have been mislabeled however, when his dispatch was called to verify, they could not find the glass anywhere in Houston, Texas so it will now take another 5 working days to receive the new glass. After hanging up with the dispatch office I was able to locate TWO dealerships in Houston who have the glass in stock. This means that Safelite outright lied to me.
When I then called the Safelite dispatch person back, I told her where she could locate the glass and gave her the part number. She has yet to call me back, despite telling me that if the glass could be found that they would purchase it and install it today. This means that Safelite 1. Lies to their customers and 2. Does not pay attention to details when ordering product and 3. Presumably has sub-standard employees who cannot label boxes or pull product properly and 4. Does not install original OEM products and/or 5. Makes various 'orders' of product to perhaps fleece insurance companies. Oh, and they do not return phone calls in a timely manner or respect their customer's time. If I did not have to deal with Safelite, I would not. In July of 2014 I took my Chevy Trail Blazer in for a rear window replacement. The young man that replaced the glass put in a glass that was very badly scratched, and it didn't fit right. The scratch was at eye level, and couldn't be missed. I then made a complaint, so another glass was ordered. When that glass was put in, it also didn't fit right. It was the same young man that installed it, the first time. When I asked the woman at the desk to come out and look at it, the young man that installed it, came out as well. He was very cocky, and told me it was an aftermarket glass and that if I wanted a Chevy glass that I needed to contact my insurance company myself for that to be ordered. Even while he was talking to me the way he was, this woman never said a word to him about his approach.
I did contact my insurance company. They were upset that I was told to call them, because it was Safelite's responsibility to make that call. I made a complaint to Safelite at that time. Needless to say I finally got the glass that was supposed to be in my Trail Blazer. Of course 3 times I had to take off from work. So it is now the 1st of July 2015 and the glass has now come unglued. I noticed a loud racket coming from the back of my Blazer. The whole glass had dropped on one side. I believe it is because not enough glue was used for the install. Supposedly it is under warranty, but I have been told that it will have to be left at the shop for a whole day on the 3rd of July. That they can't take it any sooner. So because of shotty workmanship, I now have to cancel 4th of July weekend plans because it will be too late to be able to go out of town. Obviously we had a miscommunication because I told their technician I wanted it removed from sight. That was my only goal. So they then graciously offered to replace my windshield and deduct the cost of the non-effective repair. That would only be $760. So I checked the competition on their windshield prices, and I couldn't find a single vendor who quoted over $350. Don't waste your money at Safelite. I just learned that lesson for you. When you call in claim you think you're talking to your insurance company when you're actually talking to Safelite which then scheduled you with their mobile locations as they do not have store fronts. When in all reality they should be using independents to better serve customers instead of being greedy and charging people that have to pay cash three times the amount they would bill insurance company for the job. However, within two months of getting my windshield replaced, I got another good sized chip on my windshield. I figured I just had bad luck and made an appointment to get it filled. Then, a few months later another chip happened. I did the same thing, and got it filled.
This is when the problems began. It has not even been a year since my replacement, and I have FIVE chips on my windshield. Two that have been filled and three small chips that I have not gotten filled yet. Before getting my glass replaced originally, I drove my car on many trips from Oklahoma to Texas with no problems for about two years. After Safelite replaced my glass, I now have had 5 chips in less than a year. The quality of the glass has to be completely terrible for this to even be possible.
The worst part about it all, one of the chips they repaired is now spreading!!! I called to see what they could do about it, and all they had to say was that I would need to get my windshield replaced AGAIN and all they were willing to pay, was the cost of the repair for the chip they messed up. Not only did I pay $500 to get my new windshield, I paid for two fill's and they are only going to repay me for the one. Had this chip been repaired correctly, I would not even need a new windshield! Now, because of their indiscretion, I will have to pay another $500 to get a new windshield. On top of this, they will only pay me back for the repair if I get my get glass replaced with them again. I assure you I am not going to pay for another crappy windshield from them. I'll cut my losses and hopefully get a quality replacement elsewhere. I do not recommend any service from them.

I filed a claim with USAA to get my windshield fixed, and they contracted Safelite Auto to replace it. When the initial claim was submitted on the 14th, Safelite said they couldn't do a mobile service until the 17th, so that's a 3 day wait right off the bat. Keep in mind, I'm trying to sell the car, so I need the windshield fixed asap (as it's already sold), and I can't drive it because it's not registered. So on the 17th, they notice that they brought the wrong windshield! I ask when can we schedule them to come with the correct windshield, and they said on the 21st at the soonest.
Since I can't wait that long (because the buyer wants the car already), I pay to get it towed in and replaced the next day (18th). I had it towed there in the morning, and I was told by the technician that it would be completed around 4 or 4:30 and they would call me. I wait until about 4:45, and I give them a call, they tell me it's been done and waiting for a pickup (Why didn't I get a call?!), and I was told that they close at 6. So I place a call to the tow truck company to pick it up, just to find out that the technician that told me they close at 6 was wrong, they close at 5 (and it's now 5:30).
I honestly felt like at no time during this entire ordeal did anyone at Safelite care at all about the customer experience. This is the first and last time I use Safelite Autoglass, and I'll definitely be sure to pass the word.

Never a phone call to update you, always have to have the insurance company get involved and then they still don't call back. I have been waiting over a month and a half for the correct windshield for my BMW and the problem is still not resolved. I have never dealt with such a frustrating situation with people that are so uneducated about the product they are supplying. They really need to get out of the Glass business and Progressive needs to take a hard look at who they are referring as their subcontractors.

On Sunday afternoon, May 3, my wife and I were driving home from a picnic. As we passed a farm field, a Canada Goose coming in for a landing hit the drivers side of the windshield of my 2013 RAV4. I contacted my insurance company (State Farm) that evening. Based on the commercials I said I would use Safelite. Expecting prompt service I called the national number on Monday. I was told the windshield would have to be ordered in. I was finally called by a woman from the Scotsville office and was first told the windshield was in Buffalo. When I didn't hear back in a couple of days, I used the caller ID to call the office. I was then told that it had to be ordered and they had no idea as to when it would be in.
I called again this AM (3/11) and was told it still hadn't come in. When I said it's been a week, she informed me that many times it's much longer than that. Called my dealer (Hoselton) and they recommended Ray Sands Glass. They said they could have the windshield in by Wed and most probably could come out and install it on Thur. From what I've been reading here, it looks like I was lucky that Safelite screwed up.

Brought my car into Safelite, Fairless Hills, PA on 05/08/2015 to fix a single chip with two slight cracks above and below that would easily fit inside a penny's diameter. Tech explained there was a small chance that during the process the crack might enlarge. He said he had to tell me though the chance was very small. Sure enough, the crack is now over four inches long, but he "assured" me that he used a razor to fill in the very visible crack. I am incredulous that he expected me to pay for this. I spoke to the manager on-site, **, who was less than helpful.
Note: the "warranty" is that they will "credit" what you paid for the "fix" toward replacement of a window if it further cracks. I left without paying. I do NOT recommend this location, though I have had satisfactory service from Safelite several years ago from another location.

We needed to have the windshield of a 1999 Jeep Wrangler replaced. The appointment was for a Sat. ** came to replace the window and everything when fine. It wasn't until Monday that my husband was home and able to check the windshield before leaving for work. It was then that he noticed the inside gasket hanging off. I called Safelite. The woman on the phone didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I said what was wrong. She wanted to set up another appointment for someone to come out which wasn't going to be 3 days. When I said that won't do, I got the 'I have to talk to the manager' story. Then it changed to 2 days wait.
On Wednesday, ** came back out - without the gasket. There was no intention of fixing the mistake. He looked at the damage, said 'I know what happened', and called it in. Now Safelites story claims that the gasket was 'pre-existing'. In other words, someone else's mistake. So they don't intend on taking the hit for it. But they will sell to us and install another gasket. And then why didn't he just bring one? We have had other windows done by Safelite. Only one was sloppy. But this takes the cake. I will be looking elsewhere from now on.

My windshield was cracked and needed to be replaced. Two cracks formed and have spread across the windshield from a star crack located at the bottom of my windshield below the wipers. I called my insurance carrier who connected me to safelite the company that handles their glass claims. Was asked the normal questions when I provided the rep with the information about the star crack that was located between my wipers and that there are no chips, cracks or scratches or any marks on the outside of the windshield the rep said this would be a warranty claim since my windshield had been replaced by safelight last summer. I was transferred to a warranty department and was asked again about the damage I explained and again was told this would be a stress crack and a warranty claim. He set an appointment.
When I arrived at the safelite location on Quincy St in Denver CO, the representative looked at the car and said my windshield wiper caused the damage, I asked how that can be the origin of the star crack is not under either of the wipers (I lifted and dropped the wipers on both sides and neither wiper hit the location of the crack and it was not centered on either of the ends of the arms of the wipers) he said it would not be covered and I would need to file an insurance claim, even though there was no chips, cracks or scratches on the windshield.
I called my insurance carrier who connected me with safelite corporate, the young lady asked a number of questions and said it sounded like a warranty claim, she asked to speak with the rep at the location I was at. (He was also the same Safelite, rep that came out and replaced the windshield the past summer) He told the Safelite rep on the phone he thought the wipers did the damage. This is BS, it is a stress crack to my windshield and Safelite does not want to stand behind the poor quality product or their workmanship. I recommend finding another company to do your glass work and make sure they do not use Safelite glass on your car.

Five years ago I had Safelite replace my windshield. I still have the receipt. Now I have major rust along the top where the gasket meets the car. When it rains, water pours on the inside because the rust is heaving the gasket. I brought the car to an auto body shop to repair the rust. I asked the worker for an estimate, without even looking at it, he asked me if the windshield had been replace at some point by Safelite. Apparently they are notorious for cutting away the gasket when replacing a windshield. When they cut the gasket they usually scrape off some paint on the car and don't prime the scrape which exposes the steel of the car and then rusts. The auto body guy pulled the entire gasket off and revealed and continuous scrape and rust under the entire top of the gasket. I can only assume the sides are the same but we didn't remove the gasket. Now it's $700 to the rust repaired and paint match.

So I get the date of replacement, which noticing the ins. company is pushing Safelite to repair it, fine. So they, Safelite, come on 3/28/15 and bring new glass, new glass seal, and new chrome locking strip. Safelite employee says that he doesn't use the new seal or locking strip. So the windshield leaks. I call Safelite, let them know.
We set up another appointment for 4/23/15, between the hours of 2 and 4. No call, no show. Fine, whatever. So I make another appointment. This one is for Sat 4/25/15. They said someone will call to let me know when they would be showing up. No call. So he starts by filling the 29 yr old seal with some poly crap, knowing I still have the brand new seal and locking strip. All the time he is using my hood as staging, kneeling on it. So now I have little dents in my 29 year old truck. Which, by the way, is in very good shape. So that's my experience with Safelite auto glass. Not happy!

It took 4 trips for my windshield to be replaced - the first visit they had the wrong windshield, the second visit the windshield was installed, but not finished as the tech did not have the right materials to attach the rain sensor. The third visit, rain sensor was installed, but the tech (different than the first) couldn't/didn't know how to install the lane departure camera (mainly because the first tech took the lane departure camera home with her). The original tech showed up the next day to install the lane departure camera.
A few notes: my lane departure system no longer is working; rain sensor had to be repair by my BMW dealer by replacing the sensor; during the original install, the tech left a huge glob of adhesive on my roof; my headliner shows evidence on the fix. Safelite now refuses to "completely" fix my car, asking for evidence that the camera (referenced above) was damaged by them. SO I have to prove a negative and they can simply exonerated themselves.

Service tech came out. Soon after he began replacement of windshield it began to pour. This was after the windshield was removed. He called to tell me it was raining and that he put a piece of canvas over the shield. He then asked me to move it to an enclosed area. The working area was at my place of business in a large parking lot without any shelter. I don't see how this is safe to ask a driver to move their car with a piece of canvas blocking the view in a downpour, but it was a moot point anyway as there was shelter available. He then calls me back in about another hour to tell me he's sitting in his van waiting for the rain to stop. I went outside at this point to check on the situation. There was a piece of flimsy plastic over the windshield which was 'attached' by closing the front doors on the edges.
After about a half hour, he called to tell me the Quality Manager was on the way out to assist and he was bringing a pop-up tent to put over the car. Four hours later they call to tell me the job is done. The Quality Manager had cleared out, was not there. The service technician showed me the damages that were done to my car, including scratches which they used a touch up paint for which does not match my car, and not all the scratches were even covered up, so I don't understand what the point was with that. And they did not CALL me to ask me if I wanted them to do some poor quality 'touch up job' which is exceedingly shoddy service. In addition they cut the interior pillar of the inside of my car with the razor tool used to remove the windshield. The tech stated that if I were not pleased, I could file a claim for the damage.
The store owner then called me shortly after the tech left to inquire about my experience. Needless to say, I told her that it was a poor one and I would be getting some estimates per her recommendation to repair the damages. She expressed surprise that the tech didn't call me to ask if I wanted 'touch up' paint applied to the car, and when I stated that it appeared as if the Quality Manager skipped out early so as not to have to deal with it, she made an excuse for him, stating he was 'real sick' and she was lucky he came to the office today to help her. Well that's nice but it doesn't really help ME feel any better about the Safelite "experience."

However, since the technician decided on her own that it wasn't a real chip and just something that was considered a "touch up," they refused to provide any documentation. Granted, they fixed it and didn't charge me since it was just a "touch up," but when I spoke to them first they said she just did the "touch up" (of actually fixing the chip) and no real repairs. Then, when I asked for documentation of at least that much, they said no, because she didn't do anything.
They independently decided that she didn't fix anything when she did (the chip was genuinely repaired), and then changed their minds on whether she did anything at all based on what was convenient for them. Last year I had a crack in the windshield of my 2003 Toyota Tacoma. I had the truck since new, so it was 11 years before I had an issue with the windshield. I took it last year in July to Safelite and had the windshield replaced. It was fairly painless, waited about 1 1/2 hours and it was done. It looked fine and the cost out of my pocket seemed worth it, little over $340. I liked the fact that it was guaranteed for life with some exceptions. I didn't think anything of it at the time.
A few weeks ago, this is February, New York, very cold I was driving to work. It was a little after 5am in the morning and nobody was on the road and it was damn cold. I remember the truck was warmed up and I had the defroster on because the weather was battering me with freezing rain. I heard a little tap on the windshield and I was looking at it and saw a crack move from my side (driver side) all the way over to the passenger side. Nobody was in front of me. No rocks on the parkway. The road was clear. It was a scary crack just a few inches off the bottom and ran horizontal. So I made an appointment with Safelite to replace. I was confident that the warranty would cover it. WRONG!!! The fellow at the desk and the supervisor in the garage both said that there was an impact. I said no way, nothing hit the windshield.
They kept pointing to where the crack started and that a pebble hit the windshield above the hood and below the windshield wiper. The gap is maybe 1 1/2 inches wide that this pebble had to of struck while also not scraping the hood. I argued that no, nothing hit my windshield, but they stood their ground. I said "fine, just fix it." I was taking time off of work and I didn't want to waste more time bringing it to someone else. So I talked to the guy at the desk while they were working on my windshield and said that I had my previous factory windshield for 11 years, pebbles and rocks hit before, but never had a long crack like this.
His response was that they don't make windshields like they use to. They are safer, but they don't last as long. He proceeded to tell me about a fellow who owned a Jeep and he had his replaced 3 times in 3 months! I'm sure a factory windshield would last much longer but I'm only guessing. I believe they buy cheap, charge more, and since they have a nice commercial on TV, they seem like a legit business. However, it is a company who will take your money, charge you a lot, get their employees to do everything they can to discourage a warranty replace. It's their way of making money off you. We chose Safelite AutoGlass to repair a small crack in our windshield. When they arrived, they took off the glass and found rust and their policy states they were unable to both put old windshield on or new. So they left us with an unusable or drive-able car dismantled. When I inquired about what to do next, they said to get rid of car or that it would be very expensive to repair rust. My husband called a nearby auto body place but we would be with out a car thru weekend and during the week when he would need it for work. So instead of just taking it to a shop that would fix the rust and window in the first place, now we are responsible for paying towing expenses and for a rental car due to their policy that is not disclosed to the customer upfront.
They were not willing to compensate us for tow or rental car needed and argued with us on the phone when we suggested making a disclaimer or educating potential clients about unforeseen rust issues. Leaving us without a drive-able car was the risk they gambled with when they took off the window, and now our misfortune and cost. Making it triple the cost it would have been to just taking it to a smaller, higher-priced local shop.

They got the seats and dash but I have about a ten inch gap between seats and tons of glass there which I was unaware of till my six year old cut her hand on some of the glass. The representative "resolved" the matter by telling me she would communicate with the shop so it doesn't happen again. Her name was Amber **. She offered a tech come out and vacuum up all the glass which was unacceptable because I already took care of it. I will never use Safelite ever again. They represent to say that Safelite needed to come out and inspect because they didn't believe they customer. Being in Florida where windshields are covered by company insurance. Most people do not know that Safelite is insurance company when calling your company. With a few exceptions. Safelite glass comes from China - its under the sticker xyz glass. Do not trust this company. I will tell you that most of my customers came after Safelite came to fix the windshield.

I had a service to replace my windshield recently and there has been nothing but disgusting customer service since. After the technician finished at my house, I met him at the door and made a payment with my debit card. After he entered my information, it was approved and he went about his day and left. After, I have been harassed daily to 'make a payment'. Very confused, I called customer service and they told me there was no record of payment. I assured them there was payment made and I can see the full amount taken out of my bank account.
The following day they called back and told me there had been no payment and they wanted me to 'prove' that I paid and drive to their location in the city. I refuse to drive 40 minutes with my bank account statements when I will not be reimbursed for gas. Its ridiculous - get it together. If your technicians don't keep track of payment made or anything of that sort - how does that make any sense?! I REFUSE to pay twice and the money has not been returned to my bank account so... looks like they need to actually do their job and investigate more. Nothing but rudeness so far with this company and I will not inquire about another job in the future from them.

The windshield in my Audi was hit by a rock and needed to be replaced. Safelite replaced the windshield, but the quality was not the same. Prior to replacement, there were no letters/numbers/emblems viewable as is standard in Audi quality. However, after they put in their windshield, I had writing in my field of view and also in the bottom right side of the windshield. I called the Audi dealership and they also verified nothing should be viewable to the driver. When the safelite technician came out, he shined me on and said that I had that stuff there before and that all windshields have that. He refused the information I gave him from Audi and did not replace the windshield. I could have paid substantially less for the same quality work. I am not a happy customer and they should have told me from the start that the windshield would not be similar to what I had.

Since they decided not to replace your windshield they will however throw some plastic and tape on it for the hour drive home. Of course you won't be able to see through it so you will have to remove it and just freeze your ** off. Since you no longer have a windshield they will take your rear view mirror because they figured you no longer need it!!! UNSATISFACTORY! I scheduled an appointment for 8 to 12 arrival, not 12:30 or 12:40 arrival. It takes over 1.5 hours to replace a windshield if all goes well. There is a reason for scheduling an APPOINTMENT. Punctuality is the first step to running a successful business. I had another scheduled appointment for my other vehicle for next week and I cancelled BOTH due to the incompetence of the technician. I read reviews on SAFELITE online and now I am glad it didn't work out. That is one scary company if you read the reviews. Took my car to get the small window on my back passenger door replaced first. Everything was rush rush. I was greeted then he told me I am going to walk around the car with you which never happened, I don't know why. He could clearly see the hole in my window as I backed into the parking stall. He told me to go upstairs. Again I was given the greeting of the day then next question out of his mouth "How will you be paying?" I almost set it off but I kept calm. Then when I asked about making sure the window was sealed from rain. I was told I had to go to the manufacturer and get that. So I said "Why are you replacing a piece of glass and not sealing it to protect it against the elements?" They told me to give them my key and they would be done soon. I waited in the area, they called after 20 minutes and informed me they were done. Never recommending nor using Safelite again. This location was on Lawehana street in Honolulu HI. On 11/24, I had Safelite AutoGlass replace the passenger side window of my 2001 Olds. When the work was completed, I could not let the new window up from the driver's side. I can let the window down but not up. Prior to the replacement of the window, all windows worked properly from the driver's side. The new window slowly goes up and down as if it may not be the proper size. On 11/24, I called Safelite about the window not operating from the driver's side; a tech was scheduled to come out on 11/26 but instead he called and I explained the problem. Afterward, he said that nothing that he did caused the problem. I think he could have come out to look at the window before he made a decision that it was not his work that caused the problem. I don't believe that the driver's side problem is a coincidence. I feel that the problem was created by the work done. Now, I must pay another company to repair damages that I feel Safelite is responsible for. I have had previous work done by Safelite and have not been completely satisfied with its work. The next time Geico suggests Safelite, I will firmly decline the offer. This is my last time dealing with this company.

I had you install a new windshield in my car today. The serviceman told me to wait an hour before driving the car, which I did. Now the windshield rattles, it is obviously loose in the frame. Apparently due to the extreme cold the adhesive did not hold. One of your people at customer service told me that it takes 24-48 hours for the glue to dry. This means that if I'm driving around, the glass is loosening up more and will never have a solid bond to the car frame. I had your company do another windshield about 4 years ago and this problem did not happen. The rattling sound is definitely not coming from the part of the car under the glass. I am sure I hear the glass rattling because the sound is coming from various different directions around the windshield, and it is the sound of glass vibrating, not a part of the car.
Now I have to go through the whole process again to fix the glass. I called customer service and they said it is under warranty but I do not want to have Safelite replace the glass a second time if the work is not going to be done right. This is very time consuming and I have to take time off work to do it. I will have to go to a local repair shop or the car dealer to do it all over again. I realize that I can't legally get my money back because I am obligated to have Safelite fix it under the warranty, but I don't trust them if they got it wrong the first time.

We had our company vehicle broken into and called Safelite to replace the glass. The first time they came out, they had the wrong glass but I believe the person at our office speaking to them had the incorrect information so that was our fault. The second time they came out, they had the incorrect glass again (this is after one of their employees marked down which window it actually was when they came in person). So not a problem, we made a mistake and then they made a mistake. Someone finally did come out and replace the glass but after they had left, we noticed the weather-stripping attached to the window was short, so water would be able to get in the vehicle. We called & they sent someone out to look at it at which time they claimed it was a defect and they had to order another piece of glass.
We didn't hear from them in a while but then finally we got a message stating that we had an appointment the next morning at 8:00 am. We don't open until 9:00 so I called to tell them they would have to come anytime between 9 and 5, at which point I was told they were not coming to us, that we were scheduled to take the vehicle to DuBois, which is an hour and a half away from us. Every time I called Safelite, nobody knew what was going on. At least 3 weeks later, we are still waiting and they were supposed to come yesterday, when I didn't hear from them, I called and they told me I was to call them (that was not the case) and that it was too late so they said they would come today. This morning I received a call that they were not coming because the wrong piece of glass came in. For being a company that specializes in glass only, these people have no idea what they are doing. I am waiting to hear back whether they are going to decide to fix their mistake or not. I will not be using them again.

Had technician been professional and honest he should have stated that the windshield was not repairable. I made an appointment to have my 2000 Landcruiser's windshield replaced - Safelite collected the vehicle information and was well aware of the year of the vehicle. When the technician arrived he began the removal, threw up his hands, and said that he could not replace the windshield and very likely couldn't return the windshield to its position because there was rust under the windshield. Safelite has replaced this windshield 2 other times. When asked for the reasoning, he said “you might get in an accident or have a rollover, and the windshield might pop out, then you'll sue me because the windshield didn't stay in place.” Are you kidding me??? This is their research regarding windshield rust? Of course, the windshield issue was lost due to the rude, abrupt, non-caring demeanor of the technician - one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had.

I wouldn't recommend this company. The first time I used them, they installed my windshield crooked. The black border around the glass was waaaay off. Luckily, they fixed it. I figured it was just an oversight the first time, so when I got a teeny chip in my windshield, I called these guys again. Well, the tech was here early so my car was in the sun. I know from experience that the windshield should be cool to the touch for a repair so I suggested that I pull car into the shade. The tech said no, he would just turn car on and cool it with a/c. Two minutes later, my windshield was cracked. (It was still hot to the touch and he clearly was in a hurry.) Oddly enough, the cracked was 6 inches long.... so it needs to be replaced now. The tech even tried to charge me for his "service". I spoke with a supervisor who offered a "deal" on a new windshield; however, I EASILY found a replacement windshield for $50 bucks less locally. These guys are a joke.

A bird flew into the windshield of my 1990 jaguar and cracked it just to the right of where you would look out of the windshield! I called safe lite, you see all the commercials they put on TV and advertise we come to you! So I called and made my appointment and to my surprise I had to take my car to them. So I arrive for my appointment and think well I have 2 other vehicles I'll get a quote. The manager didn't really want to bother giving me the quotes and when my windshield was done they were supposed to have cleaned all of the glass and vacuumed out the car for any loose debris. They did neither. And I paid $239 cash and went to them. Very disappointed in their service, the commercials are overrated and I will not be going back.

In 2009 a rock flew up and chipped the windshield on my Nissan Titan. That same day I called Safelite and had them repair the windshield. The repaired chipped area was still visible but below my line of sight, so I was satisfied. This was a cash job with no insurance involved. At $135 for the repair I thought this was expensive so I asked how much a replacement would be; the answer, around $250. I was told by the repairman that the work was under warranty and if the repair ever failed the cost could be credited toward Safelite's replacement service. This again satisfied me.
Fast forward to the cold weather of 2014. One morning I found the repair had cracked the full horizontal width of my windshield. I called Safelite expecting them to credit about $135 toward a $250-$300 replacement service. To my dismay price quoted was $275 after the credit. When I complained I was told the higher price was due to low stock of my particular windshield. I told the Safelite representative on the phone I would check other auto glass repair companies and if Safelite was competitive I would call them back. Each company I called, 3 in total, quoted prices between $235 and $250 with free on-site service. One did mention that if special mouldings were required it would add an additional $52, but he could not determine that without looking at the vehicle.
It appears that Safelite's warranty is useless and they are simply increasing the price of their replacement service to cover the cost of their original repair. By the way, one of the other companies I called state they charge a flat $60 repair fee with no extra charge for coming to you. I am having my windshield replaced by a local auto glass company that I have good references for. The cost to me is $235 plus tax - well below the price Safelite wanted, even after applying their so-called "warranty credit". I will never use Safelite again and I recommend to anyone else to never use Safelite.

I am very disappointed in Safelite. My 2009 Honda Odyssey was broken into on vacation and Allstate did an amazing job getting the van fixed at a local Ford dealer here in Fort Worth. However a small side window had a nick in it and it still needed to be replaced. The dealership sent me home and, for convenience sake, sent Safelite to my house to replace the little window on the passenger sliding door. BAD MOVE.
These guys broke the glass to get it out of my van and glass went all over my driveway and into the grass (I have a 3 year old and I had to clean the glass up myself that had been left in the grass). I asked the technician why he broke the glass and he said it was "the easy way" to get it out. After he left I noticed that my newly finished side panel had scratches on it from the glass shards. then I noticed that my whole car was covered in tiny glass particles.
I called my adjuster and he said that SafeLite shouldn't have any problem coming out and fixing the damage they called. Boy was he wrong. My first phone call with a assistant manager ended up with him acting like I was an idiot and with him saying things like, "You should know better to not wipe down your car with glass on it" and "It isn't our job to clean up the glass" Excuse me? Who's job is it? He finally agreed to send someone out to photograph the damage and that they would get back to me.
2 weeks later and nothing. So then I called the warranty office and they got Vicki the manager on the phone with me (after a 40 minute wait time) She was even worse. Apparently the original guy that I talked to was "gone" (probably fired from being such a jerk) and Vicki again told me that they are not responsible to clean up the glass that they broke. She again acted like I was an idiot and decided that the person to blame was the car wash place (I hadn't taken my van to the carwash as of yet) and that they leave the glass on the outside of the car where it falls.
For the record I called my adjuster just a few hours after they finished the install b/c I noticed the damage immediately. As of now they have an email to a higher up in the company. I am hoping they make this right and that I can gain respect back for Safelite.

Went to have a front glass repaired in my truck in Durham, NC Safelite Shop. After tearing off my window molding the installer said there was a little rust, I looked at this, and it was nothing, just a little surface rust, I've did auto body work for 10 years in the past, and it was nothing. The installer said if they took the glass out and there was rust they would not put glass back in, and I would have to have the truck towed to a body shop and have it repainted before they would put the windshield back in. This would be fun to, with no do on a rainy Saturday with no shops open.
I felt like they didn't want to do the job, making the excuses. So after telling them to put my truck back together I would go to another company and have it done. They did not want to reassemble my truck. Finally after arguing with the manager they 1/2 way put it back together. Going home I tried my wiper blades just to see if they would work, and one came off. I had to pull off the side of the road in the rain and put it back on properly. Did notice that 2 screws were missing that should have been put in.
I work for a company that I'm the service manager for our 950 plus trucks, and I will never send one of our trucks to this company. If I had to rate this company it would be 1, out of 10. And the one would be for the lady in the office that gave me the corporate phone #. You can bet , I will tell everyone in my business field and my corporate office to never use this company.
The installer was really rude along with the manager. When I started to leave I threw the Safelite paperwork out the window at their shop, when one of their installers, Cursed me, and told me to get the hell out of there. I yelled back at, then he wanted to fight me, cursing at me, walking at my truck like he wanted to fight. Doing all this while I was on the phone with their customer service at the main office. I felt like they didn't want to do the job, or just send me to one of their buddies auto body shop so could make money off of me too, in which none of this was necessary. What a day , my blood pressure hasn't been this high in a long time. Please stay away, hopefully all of their shops aren't ran like this one. Whats the Old saying you get what you pay for, must be paying minimum wage.

Safelite installed a new windshield into my 2006 BMW 325i and everything seemed fine in the beginning. A year later, we started having heavy rains again (finally) in central Texas, during which, my A/C stopped working, followed by my power windows. I took it to the dealership the following Monday, and they informed me that the central computer and some relays shorted out from an incorrectly installed windshield. They were able to pull it without breaking and resealed and replaced the shorted out parts. I called Safelite to report this, as the Dealership detailed the damage and causes very well so I could file a claim, along with photos for the warranty company. I called Safelite, and they referred me to their warranty department. They informed me that they would not honor any kind of warranty because they were not given the chance to fix and remedy the problem themselves. I will never use this company again, and I will let Liberty Mutual who sent me to them in the first place to lodge a complaint. I see from searching the web, that they are not a very honorable company and strongly suggest people to stay away from them.

First windshield was replaced in 2009, it leaked and kept getting worse. They came out in June of 2013 and removed the windshield, cleaned the old windshield, and then reinstalled the old windshield. When I drove the vehicle 3 days later, it sounded like a window was down. Went to Panama Beach on vacation. While driving through Atlanta, I encountered a rain storm, to which the rain came through the windshield on the passenger side and ran down on top of the dash and glove box... Fogged up entire windshield on inside, carpet was completely covered in water.
In Panama Beach, Safelight installed a new windshield. When I got back home in Tennessee, the carpet was still full of water. I thought that the windshield was still leaking so I called Safelight to come by and check. The first technician actually took a water hose and pointed it through the heater box opening under the hood, then told me that my heater box was leaking, and that was the problem. Then the manager Billy came by and stated that there was no leak anywhere where the water could come through the windshield. They left without doing anything.
Since then I arrived at the conclusion that the water was from the rain storm encountered when I went to Panama Beach, caused by the reinstallation of the old windshield. The new windshield installation was a success, since the water has dried up... and not reentered the vehicle. However my carpet is ruined, and smells like a soured dish cloth. Safelight will not even come out and look at the carpet. They caused the carpet to be ruined by reinstallation of the old windshield instead of a new one. If they would have done this to start with, this carpet would not be ruined. I have tried everything to remove the odor, baking soda, Gold Bond foot powder, air fresheners... Anyway the carpet is beginning to crumpled now. Thanks a lot, Safelight... Never again....

That was the best referral we ever received. My husband was really nervous that the repair would still be apparent and with a new car you want it to look good. Our service man was on time, very pleasant, vacuumed our front seats and floor board and cleaned our window to a sparkle not to mention the spot on the glass now looks like a very small water spot. My husband said he can hardly find it and he knows right where to look. Thank you Safelite Auto Glass for restoring our car to new and making our experience such a pleasure!!!

They did okay in making, keeping the appointment and replacing the glass. But they "upsold me" on new windshield wipers. Then, when they said they were all done, they hadn't replaced the wipers (They hadn't forgotten to charge me for them however). They appear to be either dishonest or sloppy - neither of which is good.

I had two chips in my windshield. One that happened about a week before the repair and one that was in the windshield for about a year. The first chip had one crack associated with it and I was afraid it would spread (this is the reason for the repair). The technician repaired the newer chip (with a crack) perfectly. The second crack which I was not worried about (and I told the guy I was not worried about it) turned into a 14-inch crack that touches one side of the windshield and is directly in my line of sight. The technician did not mention that the chip could turn into a crack (he did say it may look like a dent/dimple or not be smooth BUT did not mention anything about a crack). I called both corporate and the local Safelite location to have this taken care of but all they said was that they would replace the windshield for $200.00. This is clearly a mistake made by their technician that caused me to now need a new windshield (With where the crack is, in my line of sight, I do not believe it will pass inspection). I would stay away from Safelite as they do not tell the truth and definitely do not stand behind their work.

When pulling out of my driveway, a small 6-inch crack developed in my windshield that SafeLite had previously replaced. Without going into all of the poor communications and lack of proper responses from Safelite, they basically declined to replace under their National Life Time Warranty. There were three very, very small rock chips in the windshield, so their point of contention was the crack was caused by new damage. The chips were approximately 3 feet away from the original crack which is what I explained to the Small Claims Court Judge.
Prior to walking into court, Safelite offered a replacement by billing my insurance and waving the $100 deductible. In other work, they wanted to rip-off the insurance company for their defective product and poor service. Safelite lost the case and was ordered by the court to pay full price and cost for the windshield. Bottom line, their National Life Time Warranty can almost always be declined by them as there will always be some small rock chip that they can find in your windshield to void it! Don't believe their warranty.

In short, I went to Safelite Auto Glass, Sterling Virginia to have a stone chip repaired. I don't think they did anything to my windshield. I'm not even sure if they cleaned it. The one thing they did do was charge for the "work." I've had other windshield stone chip repairs done by various vendors. Each time, I was able to see a difference in the chip - resin filling in the chip/crack, disappearance of slight cracking, even white "frosty" area in the center of the repair. This time, the chip looked exactly as it did when I brought the vehicle in. They had my van for about an hour in the back of the shop. They drove it back to the parking area - and the first thing I did was ask if they actually did any work. I was assured that they did and was told "It's warrantied - if it doesn't hold, bring it back." Well, small cracks started to spread away from the chip. When I called to ask for warranty coverage - a redo - I was told that the warranty doesn't cover them trying the repair again - it's only a credit toward a new windshield.
Needless to say, I didn't take them up on that offer. I'm convinced they did nothing at all except make me wait an hour and charge me for the repair. Today, I had a different mobile service come out to try to fix it - now much worse than when I brought it to Safelite. As expected, I can see their repair. I can see the resin in the cracked area. I should have gone to this person to begin with, when it was a tiny chip. Now, the repair is more obvious. Luckily, it's not in my line of sight.
Finally, think about it, They get paid for "fixing" stone chips. If you never come back to them, they keep your money. If the "repair" fails, and you go back to them, they credit your money back to you toward a new windshield that they will sell to you. This is a bogus warranty - they are in the business of replacing whole windshields and I doubt they care much about fixing stone chips. They're better off if you need a windshield. Never again.

I complained to management and they sent the same workman for a second repair which only made the two chips worse. Now lines spread from the chips and they are cloudy and more visible. I called the HQ office, talked to Executive Services and the local Norcross asst. manager on a conference call with me and said I needed now to replace the entire windshield but they would give me a discount, a new windshield for only $200! I had a Safelite technician come to repair my rock chip on my windshield, and in the process, he cracked the chip to about 6 inches. Now, in order to fix it, I have to replace the whole thing for $200.00. They wouldn't waive that, even though it wasn't my fault. I was not aware that the windshield could crack in the process because they didn't explain anything in that nature to me nor did I sign any waiver.
I called to speak with the manager and all he said was that the glass breaking was possible and that the technician should have told me but didn't. But even still, he wouldn't wave the $200.00. I called them about 3 different times with different managers, and all of them gave me different prices. I feel that's just shady business, period - when they say they can't give me anymore discount and when the next person's willing to go down another $25 or so. They say 1 out of 10 glasses will crack, so they should have explained it to me and made me sign a waiver that if it did crack, it won't be their fault or something like that.
