ProtectMyCar gave me partial coverage because I had so much mileage on my car and they were the only extended warranty company that would cover my car. They had a part of the policy where one could save up to about 50% on expenses. The part of the policy that I needed to reimburse went fine for me. They reimbursed me in a timely manner and did what they were asked to do.

Thank you for those comments. We appreciate them very much. You are right, we are one of the few companies that help folks with older, higher mileage vehicles.
Our Ambassador series of policies was created specifically for vehicle owners whose vehicles do not qualify for standard extended breakdown coverage, either because of excessive age or miles, or because of pre-existing conditions. The Ambassador family of policies is less expensive than a standard extended warranty and therefore appeal to those on a limited budget.
Ambassador policies provide a wide variety of important benefits including free oil changes, free tire rotations and a significant reduction in repair costs, anywhere up to 45% of the original estimate of repair costs. They also come with towing, 24 /7 roadside assistance, and rental car benefits to name a few.

Thank you again for your comments. Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is any way we can help you.

When I did the insurance with ProtectMyCar and my car broke down, they would not give me a rental car right away. I drive for a living and needed a vehicle. I waited two days for the approval of the claim and then they only gave $30 a day. There’s not even a rental car out there for that amount. They didn’t even cover the tax so I paid an extra $100 for seven days. But other than that, it has been okay.

Thank you for your comments. It is very important to us to know how well our policies work to help our customers. Comments such as yours help us know where we can improve. First and foremost, thank you for being a policy holder since June of this year. We are very proud and pleased to have helped you by paying out over $3,900 in repairs, rental costs, and Road Care service during this time. That’s almost ten times the policy premiums for that period of time and we are very proud to have been able to help you that much. We do regret that the rental benefits were not as much as you would have liked. That was the maximum benefit allowed under the policy and is meant to assist with the cost of a rental car but can not, in some cases, pay for the entire rental.
As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. When that occurs and we help you with those repairs as well, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage.

Thank you again for your comments. We hope you will not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

I submitted a claim with ProtectMyCar and nothing has been done about it as of yet. We seem to be going back and forth because they wanted receipts from oil change. I was explaining to them that oil change doesn’t have anything to do with the transmission. I’ve always taken really good care of my cars. I don’t know what has happened or how it happened. It’s a car, these things can happen.

The lady that I spoke to when I was making payments for purchasing the warranty was excellent. She took it out of my account and it'd be fine every time. But as far as getting this repair done, it seems like this is a big problem. I’d like to see this rectified as soon as possible because right now I have no vehicle to drive. I need my vehicle to get back and forth for the doctor’s appointment. It’s not around the corner where I have to go. So at this point, my experience is not good.

We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with our claims process and the decision that was ultimately made. We needed to get your maintenance records in order to determine if this claim was approved or denied because of the component that was no longer working. Each vehicle manufacture has different requirements of when a radiator and transmission flush needs to be done, the schedule for oil changes, so having maintenance records is the only way our claims department can verify our customer’s maintenance history. A vehicle service contract does not cover a transmission when maintenance was never performed, we will always ask for proof of maintenance and we will take the extra step to save you time by calling your repair center that preformed your maintenance for you in order to help expedite this process. In this case we made 3 different calls into Aamco to get these records but we did not get all the records as our adviser explained to you on the telephone. We do have this disclosure in our contract to protect our company against failed components at the time of purchasing one of our contracts. Every contract we offer requires a 30 day waiting period before a repair can be made and this is to allow for the 30-day money back guarantee so our customers can review their contract completely, decide if they want to keep it.

I originally got the ProtectMyCar warranty because I have a 2007 Outback which is one of those cars that, after 7300 miles, you're going to have a head gasket go and then get an Alpha 2100 to fix it. After that I'm like, "That's not a good way to start," so I googled and looked. Once it was physically fixed, they called me back a couple of months later and asked if I was still interested, and I told them that I was. Then they went over prices and what it covered. The guy that I spoke with mailed me facts about the company, to show that it was a legit deal and that was a big thing for me.

I've had two claims. In my first claim, I didn't have my card on me and it's extremely hard to find their number. They used to go by Oracle and now they go by Solace. My complaint is I can't google and find them. There's not a lot of information on the internet about them to be able to research what you're getting yourself into. Other than that, it's been good submitting a claim with them so far.

ProtectMyCar called me and told me that my warranty was going out. And from what they offered me, I think it was a good deal as long as I wasn't late paying it. But when I submitted a claim, it was very difficult to deal with them. They were asking too many questions and I told them to talk to the mechanic at Rayford because my car is being serviced at Rayford ever since we bought it. And so they did. They went back and forth and they were talking about oil changing. I said it has nothing to do with the motor, it's the transmission that has a problem. Then they said, "Well, did you get the transmission serviced?" I said, "Call Rayford. Everything that was supposed to have been done to the car, Rayford did". Then they said Rayford didn't do anything. And all that time, they didn't give a rental car unlike before. If I have a choice, I would've cancelled it but I have to pay it all. They seem to set me up for a ride.

Thank you for your comments. It is very important to us to know how well our policies work to help our customers. Comments such as yours help us know where we can improve. It is unfortunate that you feel the policy has been of limited benefit to you.
A review of the repair on which you filed your claim shows that we paid out over $820, including the repair and towing. You paid only the $100 deductible and $50 co-pay on the towing, in accordance with the terms of the policy.
It would seem from your comments that you were not happy with the questions claims asked of you and your mechanic about the prior maintenance done on your vehicle. We hope you do not feel you were in any way singled out in asking about the maintenance on your vehicle. It is both responsible and professional to make these inquiries and is as much for your protection as it is to determine the complete scope of the repair and claim. There have been times when customers have paid mechanics and repair shops for maintenance services that were not performed completely or not at all. This is in no way a comment on the repairs shop you use but is standard practice to insure that our customer’s best interests are looked after. Now that the complete record is in our file, we will not have to ask about those records again.
We were very pleased to have assisted you with the repair to your vehicle, although we regret that you feel the process was an imposition on you. That was certainly not the intent. To make that right, we are providing you with One Year Free Oil Changes on your vehicle. We will pay for the next three oil changes over the next year. Just show the service manager your policy ID card and we will take care of the rest. We are happy to provide this additional benefit to you. We want your experience with the policy to be a positive one.
Please also remember that providing a rental car is part of the policy benefits. It does not appear that you requested a rental car at the time of the repair. If you rented a car, we will be happy to reimburse you.

Thank you again for your comments. We hope you will not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

Your policy does include two tire rotations per year. We get those done after every other oil change, which is also paid for under the policy. The reason we did not do the tire rotation you mentioned is because it had been done at your previous oil change and was next scheduled to be done with the following oil change. We apologize for any mis-understanding.

I didn't have to do anything. After my protection ended I never went to the dealer because it's a little far. I only go to one mechanic. This technician is very close from my home and whenever I have problems, I go there and just leave my car. He'd check and whatever I have to pay, I pay and whatever ProtectMyCar needs to pay, they pay. They are good and I have no problem.

First and foremost, thank you for being a policy holder since September of last year. We appreciate that fact very much. We strive very hard to make sure our policyholders get great service and great peace of mind. We are sorry that you feel the policy has not helped you as much as you would have liked.
You had, of course, filed a claim for repairs in October of this year. The repair was to components that are not covered by the policy. You have no doubt reviewed the policy and have seen that the policy lists each and every covered component. We make it very clear what components are covered and which are not. The reason for this is simple. We want you to know right up front and in writing exactly what is covered with no hidden or confusing terms. Some components are not covered and for a very good reason. If we covered every single component of your vehicle, the cost of the policy could easily be three or four times what you are paying for it. Most people would be unable to afford such coverage. We cover the components that are most likely to break down and for the most part are the most costly to repair.
We do, however, help in other ways when one of our customers has a non-covered repair. To assist you with that cost, we have reduced the cost of the policy $450. You will see a dramatic difference in the cost of the coverage on your next billing.
The purpose of the policy is to pay the cost of covered repairs less the deductible. No policy, no matter who issues it, will cover 100% of a vehicle. As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will be more and more likely that future repairs will be required. As comprehensive as the policy is, it is far more likely that future repairs will be to covered components. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage. Again, thank you for your comments.

Please call us if you have any questions or if we can help in any way.

I've only had one experience submitting a claim and it was good. When I called the company, they answered immediately. The only concern is that when I made my contract, I was told that everything I find in the book is covered 100% and I only needed to pay $100 copay. But when I went to KIA to have my car fixed, the price there was $700 and they told me that the company won't pay in full. I needed to pay $100 copay plus another $100. So it turns out the company doesn't do a complete coverage. I'm thinking of calling the lady who made the contract 'cause I don't understand it. But other than that, I've had a very good experience with ProtectMyCar. I had a problem with my car, I went to their dealer, they worked with the company, and everything was okay. ProtectMyCar had the cheapest auto warranty that I could find. It was one of those things that I had to do or else I would have been in worse case than I was in. However I was under the impression from their brochure of what they can offer, but that wasn't the way it read. I submitted a claim one time. It was difficult because I was under the impression that I would only have to pay the $100 deductible, but I wound up paying for the labor that was provided for me and it was $400-something. The guy who did the repair on the car filed the claim from their office. The actual amount was $1200 because the part was six-something and the labor was four-something.

That was the only time I had to use the warranty because I had gotten it recently and had to put the aircon first in my car. It was easy to make payments because I do a direct payment. Under the warranty, I was supposed to get a rental car but they said they wouldn't pay for it, and I had to have it. They got my car for two days, so I had to get rides back and forth to work.

ProtectMyCar.com contacted me about the Ford Flex that I had. My vehicle is older and has a lot of miles on it so they only would cover 25% of the repair. I wasn't aware of that initially when I took on the coverage and that was a shock to me. Also, the process should be improved by just giving the credit card information authorizing the payment rather than giving the credit card, signing something and faxing it over.

Thank you for the comments you wrote concerning your policy. Comments such as yours help us know the areas we can improve upon.
We very much understand that as a policy holder you appreciate fast, competent service. We go to great effort to streamline the claims process as much as possible to get you back on the road without delay. However, some steps simply have to be done without any shortcuts. A case in point is the written authorization for the repair charge. We do this for your protection for a couple of important reasons. First, we want you to know that the charge represents payment if full for the repair. We do not want you to go pick up your car and find that the mechanic has found “other” charges they want you to pay in order to release the car. Second, it makes good sense to have a written record of the charges for you, you bank and credit card company. If there were other options that still protected you as much, we would use them. Your security and financial safety is far too important, however, for us to do less than the best we can.
Our Ambassador series of policies was created specifically for vehicle owners whose vehicles do not qualify for standard extended breakdown coverage, either because of excessive age or miles, or because of pre-existing conditions, such as yours. The Ambassador family of policies is less expensive than a standard extended warranty and therefore appeals to those on a limited budget.
Ambassador policies provide a wide variety of important benefits including free oil changes and free tire rotations. The policy also provides a significant reduction in repair costs, a guaranteed minimum of 25%, and often up to 45% of the original estimate of repair costs. The policies come with towing, 24/7 roadside assistance and rental car reimbursement benefits. All of this is provided at a monthly cost of less than half what most extended warranty policies cost.

We hope this has helped your understanding of how much this policy helps you. If you have any questions, though, please call us. Thank you, Ms. Avery

I had a horrible experience with the last claim I submitted to ProtectMyCar. I called them the day before I was gonna take the car into the garage because I had the engine light on. They told me to take the car into the garage and let the mechanic see what's wrong with it and advise them to give them a call to tell them whatever needs to be done and they'll take it from there, which I did. The mechanic sent them the quote (work order) and I didn't hear back from them all day. They called the next day and said, "We never received anything from them." I called back the mechanic and the mechanic said, "I faxed and emailed and I had an email confirmation that they received the quote." I called them back and they said, "We still haven't gotten anything. Have them send that again."

So they sent it again and then we waited a couple more days, still never heard back. It took 2 and a half weeks for them to okay the work order and I was without a car for 2 and a half weeks because they wouldn't approve a rental car until the work was approved. We faxed and emailed. They had sent over an adjuster. My mechanic spent a total of 5 hours on the phone within that two weeks going over and over the same thing with what needs to be done. It was the worst experience I've had with an insurance with a claim. I would not recommend them to anybody. Very poor customer service, slow and no follow through.

Thank you for the comments you wrote concerning your policy. We strive to make the claims process easy and convenient for all policy holders. We regret that you feel the process on your last repair took longer than you would have liked.
A review of the policy shows that you took out the policy In April of this year. Since that time we have actually paid out in claims on your vehicle nearly $2,650 on two repairs, almost 3 times what the policy has cost you. Not a bad deal by any means and we are proud to have given you that help. The repair you are referring to came in on 9-29. It was completed on 10-9, a total of eleven days. During that time we asked for and received service records, got the inspection of the vehicle done and worked with the repair shop on the repair. In short, we wasted no time in getting the repair done as quickly and efficiently as possible. The claims process is far more than just issuing payment to the mechanic, it often involves making sure the repair is diagnosed correctly and done right Most repairs do get taken care of without any delay and the process is very smooth and trouble free for the customer. We apologize for the inconvenience to you on this repair.
To make that right, we are providing you with One Year Free Oil Changes on you vehicle. We will pay for the next three oil changes over the next year. Just show the service manager your policy ID card and we will take care of the rest. We are happy to provide this additional benefit to you. We want your experience with the policy to continue be a positive one.

Please let us know if you have any questions or we can help you in any way.

ProtectMyCar automatically withdraw payments out of my account. My experience was decent. The Nissan dealership submitted my claim. It was okay. I just think that there was lack of communication when I purchased that insurance. When they offered this insurance, they should be a little bit more detailed about what they are supposed to pay. From what I heard, after $1,000, I would have to have $1500 deductible, and I was always told that my deductible was only $100. So it’s a little disappointing. I was never told those details. So its improper advertising. It’s done now, so I don’t have a choice. That is why I’m not so happy with it. I don’t know if I would refer it to anybody right now.

I have just reviewed the claim history for the repair that was covered by our company and I wanted to make sure that there is a clear understanding of everything that occurred because we truly take pride in our work here.

I want to make sure that you did not pay anything more than what the repair center said they charged you directly. I have the actual invoices we received from Regal Nissan and the claim you filed was for an electrical issue. You are right, your deductible is only $100 and our company paid Regal Nissan a total of $1,007.87 to repair your vehicle. You should have only paid a total of $100 when you left Regal Nissan because I have a final invoice showing this amount. If you paid anymore then that I would like to know about this because that means I need to find out why Regal would have charged you more. That $1,007.87 that we paid directly to Regal on our corporate card included the fee of $210 for your rental car for the 7 days as well. Please let me know if you have any paperwork showing that the repair was for more than this, or if you paid more than $100. Again the total repair cost was $1,007.87 which was paid by our company when the repair was done plus the $100 deductible you paid = $1,107.87. We want to make sure that you are happy with the claims process and the amount that you paid.

I have had a protection plan for my car with this company for 19 months. My transmission failed. I knew I had a major issue. I pulled my car over and called their 24/7 roadside assistance number. In 45 minutes there was a tow truck there to take my car to my dealership. Sure enough the dealership said it would cost $6230 to repair. I had the service manager call their claims department.

Noel their Claims Advisor Manager got on the phone and told them to send the work order over for them to review. They gave me a rental car for 2 days at no cost to me. I got a call in 72 hours saying my car was ready to be picked up. I was nervous going in, but my cost was $100 which was the package I picked for my deductible level. I left feeling so relieved because there would not have been any way I was going to be able to do it on my own. I have payments I am making on my car still so junking it was no option either. Thank you ProtectMyCar and thank you Bill and Noel for making sure the process was very easy for me and my family.

Thank you for the comments you provided. We appreciate your kind words about our employees. We strive very hard to make the process as easy as possible and give our policy holders good peace of mind.
We do recognize that the repair process on your engine took a good deal of time. We worked with the mechanics that had the job of estimating and repairing the vehicle. We even hired an independent inspector to provide an analysis of the trouble. The inspection revealed that you had driven the car for over 350 miles in an over heated condition with no radiator hoses connected. This obviously led to some very severe problems. That is the reason the repair took as long as it did.
We work in cooperation with mechanics and repair shops and assist in every way we can to make sure the repairs are done without delay. We have to defer to the mechanics and inspectors to make the call on the repairs. We want the repairs done right the first time. We do regret that the condition of the engine caused the repairs to take longer than you would have liked.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Again, thank you for your comments.

But now, I got to continue driving my vehicle around until I can to afford to get it fixed. When I'm paying this kind of money, they shouldn't have no issues. They should fix it because if I don't get it fixed, it's gonna cause some motor problem and that's about 5-6000 for motor. They can let a simple fix, but I got a quote of about 35, but they're saying they don't fix it. But so far, they said that they will refund me the money that I did pay for having one of the motor fixed. Other than that I had a little runaround but I finally got it straightened out with them.

The salesperson from ProtectMyCar was knowledgeable and they worked with me - I felt that was a bonus for me. They seemed to have a pretty good plan so I went with them. When filing a claim, the communication between the dealership and the insurance people takes up some time. So, if I'm in a time crunch, that doesn't work too well. Other than that, I was fine with their claims process. I still ended up putting some money out of pocket, but I bought the warranty with the thought in mind that I wasn’t gonna have to put out a whole lot of money.

I like the fact that ProtectMyCar will reimburse me for the rental car, which we had for 5 days, because my car was at the dealership for a week. I had to call and check with the dealership, then, they call the insurance, and fax it in. It’s a little time consuming, but it’s not like I could take my car up there, drop it off the dealer and say, “Okay, look. This is what I want fixed and I need it back here in two days.” Because that’s not how it works with the warranty. I’ll keep the warranty, but maybe it could be streamlined a little bit better.

She signed me up and I've been with the company ever since. The main thing is they do all they say. When my alternator went out, I called their people and followed what they said. Same went for the garage - they took care of everything. So, to me, their word was good as gold, from the first time I spoke with them until the last time. On making payments, I had it subtracted out of my checking account each month. The payments were better than what other companies have quoted me - unbeatable! After using the service, I know that whenever I leave to wherever I go, I have peace of mind. I'm satisfied to see the worth of my purchase so I'd recommend them.

I noticed that Maita Chevrolet called the customer service department instead of the claims department when they wanted to get this order processed. After reviewing what was posted here, I want to let Nicolas know that there must be a misunderstanding regarding the details of the program that was purchased and what the full process of the repair was. I can see that we did provide a rental car for 3 days while the vehicle was being repaired and that there was assistance provided by our Ambassador plan that was purchased. Here is the full breakdown of the repair cost: the bad water pump was bad, the original claim amount was $1,310.24. Our claims advisors worked to find the parts for a much lower price before just paying the 25% towards this repair. We were able to get the whole claim down from $1,310.24 down to $967.64 and that was before our company paid $202.67 towards that amount leaving a total amount of $764.97 left for Nicolas to pay. That means not only did we pay a full 25% of this repair but our company saved an additional 25% off of the original cost. If Nicolas did not have the Ambassador plan with our company the rental car cost would have been $90, the repair would have been $1,310.24 but instead the total cost to Nicolas was only $964.97. Now for a program that only cost our customer $22.40 per month how can you go wrong here. There are no hidden fees or additional fees. Free roadside assistance, rental car coverage and a guaranteed 25% off every repair plus we will work to save you more than that by getting the parts from our wholesale suppliers.

My experience with Solace prior, and now ProtectMyCar, has been a bit troublesome. Every time I took my vehicle in to get maintenance, there was some sort of miscommunication between the dealership and Solace. Each time, I had to take my contract and all the paperwork that I have in there. The dealership would always tell me, "They're saying you're not covered and you don't have a contract." So I always had to call back, verify, and tell them who I spoke to and give them names, and then it would seem to figure itself up. I've used Solace 4 times now, and in 3 of these 4 times I've had issues. The only time I did not have an issue was this last oil change.

The payment arrangement wasn't the hard part. I did direct deposit so every time my payment is due, it gets directly paid to them. The hard part was going to the dealership and somebody who's answering the phone on that end because there was miscommunication on what I was calling for. In one of the times I went to go a tire rotation, the dealership told me that I was not covered under tire rotations, and I knew I was. The things that I'm covered with are oil changes, tire rotations, and negotiations. It was only the half of trying to get it covered.

Their customer service want to help but something needs to be done on their end to keep contracts and keep track of what people have on their contracts so that there is no issue when somebody does use Solace. On our end, we pay a specific amount a month for extended warranty so that we are covered. It's obnoxious and annoying when we get our maintenance done to our vehicles. So much time is added because we spend time on the phone trying to straighten things out.

Thank you for the comments you wrote concerning your policy.
First of all, thank you for being a policy holder since March of this year. A review of the policy shows that you had oil changes done three times since then that we were happy to pay for. We apologize for the initial trouble you had with the oil change. Our Ambassador policies have different levels of coverage that customers may choose from, depending on coverage desired and their own budget concerns. Your agent did provide you with the higher level of coverage but at the lower level of cost. That caused the coverage to be reflected in then system as the lower level of protection that did not include free oil changes or tire rotations. That was entirely our fault and for that we apologize. That error has been corrected and you will not have that issue come up again. Your policy does include the three oil changes and two tire rotations per year as well as the other benefits specified in the policy. Of course, you will still enjoy the lower premium rate for the coverage. We do help all we can to provide the best coverage at the lowest possible cost. Once again, though we apologize for the initial confusion we caused.

Thank you for the comments you wrote concerning your policy. Comments such as yours help us know the areas we can improve upon. Thank you, Ms. Smith, for being a policy holder since August of 2014.
It is true that no policy, no matter who issues it, will cover every single component of a vehicle. You have no doubt reviewed the policy and have seen that the policy lists each and every covered component. Some components are not covered and for a very good reason. If we covered every single component of your vehicle, the cost of the policy could easily be three or four times what you are paying for it. Most people would be unable to afford such coverage. We want the policy premiums to be comfortable on the budgets of our policy holders. It was for that reason that we provided over $1,200 in discounts to you on your policy and provided two years free oil changes as well.

I’ve been pleased with Solace. Solace has a very good rate and it is what I have under my budget. Submitting a claim was easy and if there’s any problems about the dealer or maintenance place that I take it to, they always call me. They don’t just drop the bomb. I just recently learned about their maintenance perks so I recently did an oil change and tire rotation.

It’s been a while when someone contacted me by phone and explained everything to me about ProtectMyCar, or Solace at that time. I thought it would be a good idea for me to have extended warranty on my vehicle, so I went forth with it. So far, everything has been fine. I haven’t had any real issues or problems with the car. ProtectMyCar made the payments affordable. The rate is decent. I’m blessed enough to be able to pay it each month.

Submitting a claim was pretty smooth. I took the car in that particular morning. They came back with the diagnosis that I needed an alternator. They got it done right then and there. I left there while they took care of business with ProtectMyCar. I came back later on that evening, and took care of it from there. It was quick and pleasant. I haven’t needed the rental car. They didn’t keep the car very long. When I took the car in to get it done, I don’t think it was more than an hour job, so I just sat there and waited on it.

However I spent a little bit more money than I had anticipated. My deductible is probably only $100, but the people that fixed the car at Belle Tire managed to get me $440. They told me I needed a particular part that wasn’t covered under my policy. I thought that was just their way of trying to get some money out of me, but that doesn’t reflect on ProtectMyCar. So far, ProtectMyCar lived up to the agreement. So I’m satisfied.

ProtectMyCar cold-called me and they got me at a good time. I wasn't looking a warranty provider, but it struck me, "Hey, you know what? I should do that. That would be cool." When I submitted a claim to them, it was incredible. It was better than expected although I had to call them and light them up. What happened was the Ford dealer called me and said, "Yeah, we don't cover that part." So I called ProtectMyCar. I told them I've been paying for a year and a half, and I have never had a claim with them in two years. It was an internal part that needed to be fixed or it will cause more problems down the line.

The guy I talked to said I made a good point, called his supervisor and called me back saying, "Look, man, we don't cover the part, but we'll cover the labor and all that." In the end, the $1,200 job only cost me $400. I thought that was fair 'cause I kind of lit him up. I had to let a muscle a little bit for that thing to be set up, but I didn't give them much of a fight.

I've used their roadside assistance and it was an easy process to go through. The claims process, however, was difficult as I can’t get in contact with nobody. Their reps were friendly and knowledgeable; however, they keep transferring me to different people that didn't know my account. The dealer place contacted them too and also couldn’t get in contact with nobody.

It took Protect My Car a long time to process the claim. In addition to that, they’re getting the price mixed up as well. When I had signed up, they told me it was going to be $29 for each car and then now they’re saying that it’s $54 for one of them but $29 for the rest.

Thank you for taking time to provide your comments. We sincerely apologize for the problem you experienced with the repair. During peak periods we handle hundreds of claims and sometimes this may result in someone stepping in to help out other than the person you were used to speaking to.
A review of the claim shows that the claim was filed on August 14, that the first estimate provided by the shop came in on the same day. We were able to reduce the cost of the repair by $177, almost 30% reduction in the cost of the repair. The additional time required to complete the claim was due in large part to the shop changing their estimate for labor on the repair after they had completed the repair on August 31. Even so, we still met our guarantee of saving 25% of the repair cost for you. Most of the time, claims go through with no hassle or wasted time. Some events are unforeseeable but we work through them on your behalf to give you the best result possible. We hope the savings on the repair make up for any delay on our part or any one else’s.
Finally, rest assured that the monthly payment quoted to you on the third automobile you have covered with us will be honored. The retail cost of the policy that you saw on the policy does not apply to you but gives you an idea how much a great discount you received.
Thank you to for the nice comments on the Road Care services. We appreciate your comments very much.

Again, than k you for letting us know that we have helped you. Thank you also for letting us know those areas where service can be approved. We take those comments to heart to make our customer’s experience easier and give all policy holders better peace of mind.

Thank you for the comments you wrote concerning your policy. Comments such as yours help us know the areas we can improve upon. First and foremost, we apologize for the delay in getting the road side assistance to you in a timely manner. We depend on third party companies to provide that service as do most every company that offers that service. I know from my review of the file that our representative called at least fifteen different companies in an effort to get you help. We let you know we were trying to get you help but were unable to do so before you fixed the problem with the tire yourself.
We deal with literally hundreds of incidents weekly and only very rarely do we have a problem with the third party companies. When that happens we take responsibility for making it right. As we told you on the phone recently, we think it is only right to waive your December payment.

Please remember that the policy will pay for three oil changes per year, two tire rotations and a great deal of help in reducing repair costs, among other benefits described in your policy. We hope this will help you and look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions, or if we can be of any help. Thank you, Ms. Brown

At first I thought ProtectMyCar.com was a hoax because of my first experience with them. I have a $5,000 front-end job that I wanted to fix. I had just gotten the car and they told me it was pre-existing condition. It’s a used car so of course it’s gonna be a pre-existing condition. It was my first service with them and I just transferred the policy over from my old car to my new car, and they wouldn’t honor it because they said it was too soon. I still have an issue with that because now they’re saying that they won’t cover it because of that. And so I’ve got to find a way to fork up $5,000 to get that fixed. That was a little irritating and left me with a sour taste. I almost dropped the policy there but I was advised by my service adviser at the dealership not to because there could be issues.

But it all changed with my most recent claim. I had some really major issues with the car (the water pump and the front bearing) and it went through like nothing - no problems at all. I’ve been very pleased with it. I’ve had them since they were called "Precision" and this is my third car with them. I've also had their road assistance and I've had a free oil change, too.

Thank you for taking time to provide your comments. We appreciate your letting us know what your experience has been. We are glad to have assisted you with both the oil change and the repair to your radiator. We do apologize if the oil change did not go as smoothly as it could have. We do require a final invoice to issue a payment and some shops are reluctant to provide that for some reason. It is for your protection and ours, though, that we require it. Once we have paid for the services, we do not want the shop to bill our customers for any other charges. The final bill should be final.
We were also happy to have provided you with over $200 in discounts on the cost of the policy.
Ambassador policies provide a wide variety of important benefits including free oil changes, free tire rotations and a significant reduction in repair costs, anywhere up to 45% of the original estimate of repair costs. We guarantee a minimum savings of 25% on repairs. They also come with towing, 24/7 roadside assistance and rental car benefits.

Thank you for your comments. It is very important to us to know how well our policies work to help our customers. Comments such as yours help us know where we can improve. First of all, though, thank you for being a preferred policy holder since July 2013. That really means a lot to us.
The repair you filed a claim for in March of this year was to an O2 Sensor, which is not covered under the policy. However, we recognized that you had been a policy holder for two years and that you could use the help financially. We approved payment of the claim of over $400. That was after helping you with the cost of the policy by over $1,400 in discounts.
We were very pleased to have assisted you with the repair to your vehicle and lowering your cost of the coverage. These programs are not for those with lots of money. They are for folks who are on a budget who would have a hard time coming up with the cost to tow a vehicle in for repair, let alone a costly repair.
All of the components covered by the policy are clearly listed so there will be no confusion when you have a breakdown. Some components are not covered and for a very good reason. If we covered every single component of your vehicle, the cost of the policy could easily be three or four times what you are paying for it. Most people would be unable to afford such coverage. We cover the components that are most likely to break down and for the most part are the most costly to repair.

We hope you will not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

My experience is not good with Solace Insurance. My car had a problem and it broke down and I had to pay myself to fix it. They said they were going to pay for transmission and many other things, but for a simple thing like this, they still didn’t. The belt part on my Mercedes Benz, when disabled, will make my car useless -- you can’t steer it, you can’t move it anywhere. I had the Mercedes Benz people to tow in they came and took the vehicle to the shop, paying them to get it done. It was an emergency and not an accident or something that went disabled on the car and they won’t cover it? I don’t want to pay them anymore. They give me a list with some stuff that they’re going to pay for and some they wouldn’t pay for. Well see what will happen this time.

Thank you for your comments about the policy. We hope this response will help you with those concerns.
First and foremost, thank you for being a policy holder since September of last year. We appreciate that fact very much. We strive very hard to make sure our policy holders get great service and great peace of mind. We are sorry that you feel the policy has not helped you as much as you would have liked. We have carefully reviewed the history of your policy over the last thirteen months. Over that period of time you filed claims for two repairs on your vehicle. These were repairs to components that are not covered by the policy.
Even so, and because you are a preferred customer we decided to help you with the cost of the repairs with a $500 discount on the cost of the policy as well as one year of free oil changes. That’s your next three oil changes. Just show the shop or dealer the policy ID card and they will call us so we can issue payment for the oil change right on the spot.

Protect My Car came across in my email. The email led me to a YouTube video which made the process seem really simple. At first, I pushed it off. I was skeptical and thought it was a scam. Protect My Car was very persistent in calling me and they explained things on every phone call that I got. Finally, on the last one, I thought they were giving me a good deal for the premium package so I went with them. When it came to my very first oil change, we had issues. I thought Protect My Car was new because the oil change places didn't recognize their program. They had me wait for 5 hours for them to get authorization. They didn't notify me about the authorization, and I had to leave the oil change place.

The second oil change was like the first one. Protect my car gave a credit card number but the oil change place didn't get the expiration date correctly so it didn't go through. They gave another credit card number but the first time around, they shut down their whole system in case it somebody was trying to rob them, so none of the credit card numbers went through. They sent me a check, like they said, and that went through. I paid for it out of my pocket which was not a problem. It cost me a dollar more for the fax, but that wasn't an issue. I got the main bulk of the money back. I was really happy because with this internet change, no one knows what happens so at first, I thought of the oil change place contacting me to let me know the check was bad.

A week ago, I locked my keys out. They handled it and I was impressed. I used their roadside assistant. They came through and it was awesome. It's hard to get mad at their representatives because they talk really good. They understand and they explain themselves very well about why things wouldn't have happened and gone through, and it all makes sense. The fact that it did all go through makes it A-Okay with me and makes me want to keep them. I already recommended them to friends.

ProtectMyCar came at the right time when I was thinking about getting extra protection for my vehicle. Payments are easy since it simply goes out from my checking account every month. I had a tough time with their claims department though. When I took my car for repairs, there was an issue on the vehicle because they were saying that it was a salvaged vehicle even though it wasn't. I had to straighten it out and send them proof; they told me it would be another few days before they would send someone to take pictures of the vehicle. Therefore my vehicle was sitting in the repair center for about a month. I kept calling but they wouldn't return my calls. When they finally did, I was already getting upset about it.

When ProtectMyCar finally authorized the repair, it turned out that the air breathing crankcase hoses needed repair and those were supposedly not covered by the policy. Only some were taken care of within the policy like the air conditioning and some brushings from where the front wheels moved. I was fine with paying some of it out of pocket so I ended up taking out the vehicle to another repair place for them to take care of the breather hoses. The gentleman there told me they needed to be addressed as soon as possible since they can be felt hitting the lights while the car is in idle. My car is still in the shop.

It would've been a perfect experience were it not for that issue and the fact that I had to keep calling them. It would be nice if they could be a little bit more on top of things with the customer and call them back to make sure everything is okay. I do plan to stay with ProtectMyCar, so hopefully in the future, this won't happen again.

Thank you for the comments you wrote concerning your policy. Comments such as yours help us know the areas we can improve upon. First and foremost, thank you for being such a loyal customer. It really means a lot to us. We are glad to have helped you with the repairs to your vehicle, paying out almost $3,700.
Some things disqualify a vehicle for coverage. That is why we asked about those issues before you get a policy, and why they are so clearly defined in the policy. In this case the Texas Department of Motor V4ehicles listed your vehicle as having a branded/rebuilt title. Rather than simply disqualify the vehicle we looked into the issue and that is why we had to ask those questions of you. We are glad for your sake that we did. It resulted in our being able to give you substantial help on the repairs. It did take more time to get that issue straight, and for that we apologize. What we did, though, saved you over $3000 in repair costs.
Now that this issue is settled, it will be a much easier process when you next need help with a repair.

As your vehicle ages and more miles are added it will more likely that future repairs will be required. When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage. Again, thank you for your comments.

ProtectMyCar called me and it sounded good until something happened. I filed a claim with them one time when my car wouldn't start. I called to have it towed to the dealer. The dealer then checked the car out, contacted ProtectMyCar, then called me to say that I had to pay a certain amount of dollars for the repair. I had the premium package and I'm thinking my car was covered so I didn't like that I had to pay for stuff. The towing was fine but they only covered three days for the rental car. Hence, if one needs a transmission repair, they pay the remaining balance for the rental. I'm unsatisfied with everything about this company aside from their staff. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

Thank you for taking time to provide your comments. It is unfortunate that you feel the policy was of no benefit to you. A review of the policy shows that you took out the Ambassador Premium policy in March 2015 and that we processed two claims, one for the cost of an oil change and one that included towing the vehicle, rental car reimbursement and savings on the cost of repair to the vehicle. To date the policy has paid over $400 on your behalf, or almost three times the total premiums paid on the policy. We are proud to have been able to help you with those repairs. We are sorry that you feel the benefits were not as much as you expected.
Our Ambassador series of policies was created specifically for vehicle owners whose vehicles do not qualify for standard extended breakdown coverage, either because of excessive age or miles, or because of pre-existing conditions. The Ambassador family of policies is far less expensive than a standard extended warranty and therefore appeal to those on a limited budget. In most cases this is the only option vehicle owners have to protect themselves against the cost of repairs to high mileage vehicles.
Ambassador policies provide a wide variety of important benefits including free oil changes, free tire rotations and a significant reduction in repair costs, anywhere up to 45% of the original estimate of repair costs, with a guaranteed minimum savings of 25% of the estimated repair cost. They also come with towing, 24/7 roadside assistance and rental car reimbursement benefits. The policy is not intended to pay the entire repair cost, and does not provide unlimited rental car use. The monthly premium on a policy that would provide those benefits would be far too much for most families to comfortably pay. Some help, after all, is better than none at all.
Having said that, we do want you to have great peace of mind that we are here to help you. We have waived your November payment on the policy and lowered future payments to just $20.00. We want your experience with the policy to be a positive one.

Thank you again for your comments. We hope you will not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

My car broke down and it was late and I called Solace for a tow. I was in a real emergency and I needed 24-hour service, that wouldn’t have worked because I waited for about two hours, and I didn’t get any call or any information on what was going on. It took several calls for me just to get somebody to communicate what’s happening. The second I did end up talking to a representative but for some reason he said he could not find a tow truck to pick my car up at that time and there is basically nothing he can do, which is weird. They offer 24-hour service, which I didn’t receive. At the end of the night, I did not have a tow truck, so I ended up going home. I tried to get them the next day and I had the same problem.

Even they offered 24-hour service, I would give them the benefit of a doubt. I called them 10:00 there in Florida so I’m like, “Okay, maybe it’s late.” Third day, finally somebody returned my call in the morning and they said that they had a tow truck ready for me, which was definitely a lot better than the response I was given last time. At least I was talking to somebody from Solace. The people I was talking before was dispatched, which was Solace, so they had no idea of my warranty. So it was difficult to get hold of them. Once they did call me in the morning, they were professional and prompt, and the tow truck was there and explained as they had a schedule for me. The tow truck guy did the job and I ended up having to take it to another place. I decided to use AAA this time because I know AAA will be there a lot quicker.

AAA showed up in 20 minutes, took my car to a dealership. I gave the representative my claim information and they said that they’ll contact Solace and work out to see if they can pay for the transmission setting etc. What ended up happening was that the transmission problem was a recall and I had a $100,000 warranty from the factory dealership, so I was lucky for that because I wasn’t sure about Solace that they were going to come through.

Then they discovered that I had some brake problems, which was just due to maintenance, so I had to pay for that and I understand that. Then they did find a leak underneath and Solace did end up paying for that but they didn’t cover two other leaks for some reason. They covered a third of it. I got my car yesterday from the car dealer. I wanted to get the 24-hour service, I didn’t have to get AAA, but it looks like I have to get AAA because their 24-hour service isn’t as good as I expected.

But their reps sound professional and knew what they’re doing. It’s just hard to get a hold of them, so if they can fix that and fix the 24-hour emergency service and that they actually show up on time, I wouldn’t mind doing business with them and I still have to find out why didn’t they didn't cover the other leak. I’m not sure if I’d still do business with them in the future.

I already used my ProtectMyCar warranty once when my power steering went out. I submitted the claim via phone and it was easy. I took the car to the dealership and I gave them my number. The dealership dealt with everything then they got back to me to tell me how much I had to pay and how much the warranty paid. ProtectMyCar paid for half of the bill which was cool, but it made no sense for all the things they promised. They paid for the car's fixing but not for the needed fluid. But still, paying half is better than not paying anything at all. I also used their tow truck once when my truck broke down. I didn't pay a lot but I still paid for some of it. I wish they had a couple more miles on it though since I feel that the mileage they paid for is barely anything.

Thank you for your comments. They are very much appreciated. A good thing to remember is that you should always call us first, rather than take a mechanics word for what is covered under the policy. There are many times when even if a component is not covered that we can help in other ways. In your case, this repair was covered. As is the case with almost all policies, there is a $100 deductible that has to be paid after the work is completed. The deductible does not have to be paid up front.

I had somebody from ProtectMyCar call me in a time I was trying to see what would work good with my car since I use it as a major transportation vehicle. From there, we communicated back and forth, and their price sounded good relative to what I was looking for. When I bought the policy, I told them what I was looking at - that now that I can afford something to have it looked at, I'd go ahead and take it in. They were all in agreement and everything worked out pretty good.

I did an AutoPay, a Catch 22. It's convenient, I don't have to wonder if I'm covered or not. But at the same time, there's distress over making sure that everything is taken care of with that account to make sure the bills get paid, because I use that account for bill-paying, not only for my personal but for the other rental houses I have too.

I have used their roadside assistance service. I had a vehicle towed from a garage to another garage and it was everything I needed. Dealing with Bill was really convenient - he was easy to talk to, very friendly and knowledgeable - and I appreciated that. He knew what I needed and what I was looking for when I talked about cost-effectiveness of a type of plan like this. I've already talked to a couple of friends of mine about ProtectMyCar. There's also a new person who is gonna get the car and if he wants to buy his own policy for it, I'd gladly pass the information on to him as well.

Thank you for the comments you wrote concerning your policy. Comments such as yours help us know the areas we can improve upon. It is unfortunate that you feel the policy has been of limited benefit to you.
A review of your policy records shows that you got the policy in July of this year. In October, we paid to tow the car in to the shop to have the power steering repaired.
We received the claim on October 8 and it was approved the next day. Then, on Oct 13, the shop informed us that the revised the estimate to include a power steering pumps. We were able to furnish the power steering pump at a savings off $200, but when we called the shop with this news, we were informed you had already authorized them to install their pump with the higher cost. We paid the shop in full for the original agreed upon cost. We realize that you then had to make up the difference as a result of having authorized the higher cost.
It is not, however, an extended warranty, and that is clearly explained at the time the policy is purchased as well as in the policy itself.
We work directly with the mechanics to reduce costs and it is contrary to your best interest to authorize the mechanic to charge you a higher cost than we worked out with them Technically, we had the right to decline all the work since it was performed without policy authorization. Still, we stepped up and paid the guaranteed amount.

Samuelson

Our company takes a lot of pride in our service and responsibility to always put our customers first when having an issue with their vehicles. I am sorry to hear about the experience you had when you called into our roadside assistance department to have a lock out service truck sent out to help you. While reviewing your claim records I can see that the issue was due to the lock out Service Company not getting our fax with our credit card information when we were trying to pay for your service call but they never called to let us know that either. After you called back in to see where the help was we contacted the company again and that was when they told us they never received the fax so we resent it and they were able to get it processed and help was sent out to you.

Because of this issue I would like to offer you a free oil change the next time you bring your vehicle in. I will update your record so that when you go into your oil change place have them contact our claims number and the payment will be processed at no cost to you. I hope this shows that we are serious about helping our customers.

I do want to address the next issue in your review, on 9/17/2015 we received a call from the GMC repair center you brought your vehicle too regarding your check engine light turning on. When the shop ran the diagnostics check a fault code was returned, it was related to the purge valve. We had the repair center fax the work order over to us breaking down the cost of the repair by the part numbers and labor cost for this repair.

The first call about the check engine light came in at 12:53 pm EST and we authorized your repair with the service manager at 1:07 pm EST. Then our payables department received a call from the service manager at 3:21 pm EST stating the vehicle was repaired and they wanted to collect payment. The total repair cost was $285.52, our payables department paid a total of $185.52 on our corporate credit card and you were asked to pay the $100 deductible as stated in your contract. You made your $100 payment and the repair was completed, paid, and you drove off the lot a few minutes later.

Please let me know if the service center charged you more than what you were responsible for. If there was any more than $100 charged to you for this repair please let us know. If you can call the repair center fax us a copy of your receipt or if you have a copy you can fax for our review and there is a discrepancy we will contact GMC and get this issue resolved.

Again it’s very important to us that you feel completely satisfied with the repair, the amount you paid and that there are no further issues. We want to make sure each and every customer has a positive experience when utilizing our company when experiencing a mechanical failure. If you have any further questions, concerns or issues please feel free to call us to discuss. Remember when you have your next oil change have the service manager contact our claims department so we can the bill in return for the long wait time you experienced when utilizing our roadside services.

I believe there was some confusion here initially, but after reviewing the process that our company goes through to help protect our customers from over paying from repairs we really did help save Connie money here. Connie did ask us to tow her vehicle from that first repair center that was giving her a hard time and telling her that our company was trying to over-charge her, I think we were able to satisfy our customers concern. The first repair center did quote her $5,000 for a new engine + $1,491 for labor to install it and since Connie purchased our Ambassador plan we do guarantee 25% off her repair or more on her repairs. We believe that the mechanic that was handling this matter for Connie was upset that our claims advisors were trying to get the new engine sent in through an overnight delivery. This would prevent him from being able to over-charge her for this repair. We ended up towing Connie's vehicle to another repair shop by her request. Once the vehicle was at the new repair center we were able to get the new engine shipped in from our wholesale parts suppliers for $2,499 compared to the $5,000 (parts only) the first shop had quoted. The labor was $1,438 + taxes and shipping the whole repair was $4,491.55. At that point our company went ahead and paid $1,492.55 towards the overall price and Connie had to pay $2,999. The original repair shop wanted a total of $6,741 for parts and labor. We have saved this customer over $3,741 on one repair. I hope that Connie sees the value in this program now. Please understand that we are here to make sure you are not taken advantage of, we will fight for you and get the best prices for you on your repairs. We really appreciate your business and if there is anything that you a currently dissatisfied with please let us know. Thank you for your business.

I never had an auto warranty before and had just gotten a new car, and the people from Solace said they could help me with services in case something happened to my car like a breakdown and that it would save me money. And I just went with it. They take payments out of my bank account, which is $21 a month. It’s the contract deal and I’ve got this booklet thing, little cards that’s attached to a book that is taken to a mechanic and whatever is done, is written down on the book.

I didn’t understand how they worked at first. I took the car in, and the mechanic talked with Solace and they worked out a deal. I didn’t know that that’s how that went. I didn’t see much of the savings in it, but I just thought, “Okay, this is how it works.” So I ended up shelling out 300 bucks, but I guess it saved money. I've also used their roadside assistance. I got stranded and had to call them to tow me home. Then a couple of days later, I had to be towed to the mechanic because something was going on with my car. Overall, my experience was not bad. I even recommended it to two other people.

Thank you for taking time to provide your comments. We very much appreciate the fact that we were able to help you with the repair to your starter. That claim alone was almost twice what you had paid in as premiums on the policy. We know that is precisely why most knowledgeable people want this coverage. The whole purpose is to significantly reduce the cost of repairs and give you good peace of mind.
One thing you mentioned does deserve further comment. In the case you mentioned, the claim came in on October 5 and was paid that same day by corporate credit card. There was no delay in issuing the payment and no check was dishonored. We do not as a rule issue checks in payment of claims to dealers and repair shops. In almost all instances, we pay by corporate credit card so that the repair shop knows right away that they have been paid. There are very rare instances when a shop can not accept credit card information over the phone. Some smaller shops do not have a way to do that. In those cases there are other options available to get payment to them right away.

We hope you will not hesitate to call if you have any questions. Thanks once again for your comments, Mr. Bowen.

I submitted a claim to ProtectMyCar for some front end work and it came to $777. It took two to three days for the company to say 'okay' to get my car fixed. Moreover, they really didn't save me that much money because they only sent $770 and I had to pay $400. On top of that, I had to spend another $100 for the front end alignment which they didn't cover. They did offer me free oil change every three months, but it's still not a good deal and it's not worth the hassle. I will recommend them to nobody.

Michael purchased one of our Ambassador programs which covers 3 oil changes each year, 2 tire rotations yearly, and this plan also includes 24/7 roadside assistance for mechanical failures that require tow services, lockout services, or one of our partner towing services will bring you 5 gallons of gas if your vehicle runs out of gas. This program also includes a rental car if your vehicle is being worked on for more than four hours.

We protect our customers from being overcharged by the repair centers for parts or labor utilizing our industry standard software system that is utilized by every repair center in the industry. Along with ensuring that our customers are not over charged for their repairs we also pay 25% of the overall repair cost for their vehicles repair. Our customers are able to bring their vehicle to any licensed repair center of their choice to get the work done.

This program is designed to help consumers with higher mileage vehicles, or vehicles that are too old for coverage through one of our vehicle service contracts. The terms of this agreement were very clear and Michael was satisfied after the first time he used the free oil change. Michael took his vehicle in to get an oil change on 7/15/2015. Our company made the payment that same day for the oil change directly to the shop in the amount of $43.06. The oil change cost Michael nothing out of pocket as promised and there was no reported issues during that service.

The next service was performed on 8/27/2015, during that visit to the repair center our advisor received a call from the service manager that was going to perform the work on his vehicle and we had the quote for the work faxed into our office. The total repair was $522.55, our claims advisor called Michael to review the work that was going to be done, the cost for the work, and the amount that our company would be paying. Michael agreed to his portion of the repair cost which totaled out to $391.61 and our company had to contribute a total of $130.64 towards this $522 repair. We collected the funds on Michael's credit card, after the repair was completed our company called and made the payment for the full $522.55 as promised.

On 10/1/2015, Michael brought his vehicle in for another oil change and tire rotation at 11 am. The work was done by 12pm, our payables department made the payment over the telephone using a corporate credit card and Michael was able to leave with no money out of pocket. There were no further calls about being dissatisfied or any other service done since 10/1/2015.

Purchasing the plan was easy. ProtectMyCar took out the payment from my bank account and they've been taking payments every month. Submitting a claim to them is also an easy process. I just take my car to the shop and the shop calls them, then ProtectMyCar makes a decision on my claim. My car is currently in the shop because the motor stopped, and they're looking into my claim. This is the most major repair I've had and that's why ProtectMyCar is using a different procedure. They had to come out, take the car, and see if I’ve abused it. Overall, my experience has been fine. ProtectMyCar did what they said they would do. They have rental cars which they pay for when your car gets serviced.

I got some feedback from a few people who have used Protectmycar in the past, and they said that they were okay. Their price was fine and they were something that suited what I was looking for, and their option was good. My daughter took care of the payment and there wasn't a problem about it too. However, an issue I am having with them right now is that when I go for an oil change, they only allow a certain oil change. My car is a V-12 and it's a very high-powered, 600 Mercedes and I have to use a specific type of oil for it.

When I took my car in, they said, "No, we only can use synthetic blend. We can't use the synthetic oil". Well, the synthetic blend doesn't work with my car. If I do that, it's going to mess up the engine over time and I couldn't allow that, so I don't know if it's going to be working out with me unless they change that. I was going to call them back some time tomorrow and go over that with them, and find out what's going on.

I think they should have been able to tell me when they were signing me up that they only cover certain oil. They should have been more specific because they knew the kind of car I drove. I explained it to them and they said "No problem. We take care of that. Just take it into the dealer to have the oil changed." So, I'm not happy with that.

I have looked into this concern that Juna has addressed regarding the oil change and tire rotation that was paid for as part of the Ambassador Plus program purchased on 9/3/2015. While researching this issue regarding the oil change I see that we approved the oil change and tire rotation that was performed on 9/28/2015. The only guidelines our company has on oil changes is that the manufacture recommended guidelines are followed to prevent any damage to our customers’ vehicle. The oil change and the tire rotation was completed as expected and our company made the full payment of $159.74 per the terms of our contract. We are sorry if there was any confusion about what we were going to approve but our company did not tell European Automotive that we would only pay for a certain blend of oil. Please remember that as our customer you can bring your vehicle to any licensed repair center for this type of service. I believe that this issue regarding the type of oil that the repair center was going to put in your vehicle was in fact a problem with the Automotive Center and not our company. We were simply paying for the oil change and the tire rotation, we have no affiliation with European Automotive. Please give us a call if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for being a customer.

The last time I brought my car to the shop, my AC wasn’t working on high, and they do not cover the resistor. Also, when I had an issue with one of my calipers, the bill was over $212 with the brake fluids. I had to pay $100 copay, and an extra $15 because they didn’t cover the brake fluid.

Thank you, Mr. Rodriguez, for your comments. It is very important to us to know how well our policies work to help our customers. Comments such as yours help us know where we can improve First and foremost, thank you for being a policy holder since May of this year. We are very proud and pleased to have helped you with two repairs to your vehicle during this time. We regret that the policy could not help with some of the components since they were not covered under this policy.
Although the policy did not cover these components, we do understand that you had to pay for those repairs. To help you with that, we are providing you with One Year Free Oil Changes on you vehicle. We will pay for the next three oil changes over the next year. Just show the service manager your policy ID card and we will take care of the rest. We are happy to provide this additional benefit to you. We want your experience with the policy to be a positive one.
When that occurs and we are able to help you with those repairs, you will be very glad you had the foresight to protect yourself with this coverage

Thank you again for your comments, Mr. Rodriguez. We hope you will not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

After two years, my car broke down and I made a claim. I took it to a dealer and they sent all the paperwork. There was a cost of three or four thousand dollars. Out of all those, they’re just going to cover one sensor, which was 50-60 bucks. There have always been excuses. Basically, whenever my car had a problem, they didn't cover it.

Thank you for the comments you posted. We appreciate that fact very much. We strive very hard to make sure our policy holders get great service and great peace of mind. We are sorry that you feel the policy has not helped you as much as you would have liked. We have carefully reviewed the history of your claims and the benefits provided by the policy. The claim that you filed in September of this year involved a variety of components. The portion of the repairs that we were unable to pay related to repairs to components that are not covered by the policy.
Nevertheless, our claims department, recognizing that you have been a policy holder for a long period of time, still approved payment for repairs to some of the components not covered under the policy. We also discounted the cost of the policy $200 to help you with the cost of the non-covered portion of the repair.

You made a good decision to protect yourself against those costs and we urge you to call us if you have any questions or if we can be of any help to you.

There are a lot of rude people that works in ProtectMyCar. The customer service is terrible and they could be better. They even blacklisted a mechanic shop. I think they told me I can go anywhere I want except for the people I was going to. I ended up taking my car somewhere else like they suggested and they kept me on hold for like 25 minutes.

I called them so I can get my transmission fixed. I had to pay $3000 out of my pocket. The transmission didn't work, and then they end up paying for it that time. Submitting the claim wasn’t too bad though. However, when I took my car in and got a rental, they don’t even want to cover that. I'm still waiting on my money from them for the rental. They worked on my car for a day. I had to go back and forth with them for a while, in order for them to even just pay half. They're only paying for one day, I had it for two days. And the company ended up charging me 2 days, that's their policy. They don't cover any fluids and any supplies. They don't cover a lot of things that goes with getting the car fixed. I still end up paying more than what they put out.

They were even rude to the mechanic shop. The mechanic was on hold for 32 minutes and 20 seconds just to submit the claim and to get the bill. Because he already knew that they will keep him on hold long, he got everything taken care of and get them to pay. They sent the payment over. My car wasn't done yet. It's just the mechanic getting the money early before the car is done because he doesn't want to wait again.

The payments for the purchase of the auto warranty was the easiest part. They take it out of my account automatically every month. I'm a committed paying customer and they gave me a hard time. I was surprised that I'm still with them after all this crap I have been through. And then I sent a customer to them, and they tried to charge her an arm and a leg. I wouldn’t recommend anybody else to them. They ended up lowering my monthly payment because I was ready to cancel. I have no deductible. I was just really upset with them and I almost quit. They can fire those rude people and teach them.
