I thought Omega was gonna cover all this electronic stuff on my car. I had an issue prior to that that cost me almost $2,000. I thought it was gonna be covered too but nothing got covered. Most of the time when I show up, they don't cover it. Your bill is $1,575 minus the $325 that they’re covering. It does not exactly sound anything like the advertisement 'cause I still ended up paying a big automotive bill. I wasn't very impressed. But it is what it is. The contracts are laid out. When I do go down and read all the small fine print, it's right there. They’ll tell you that on the phone which they should do right upfront. Everybody's been wonderful and they sound like they care about their job and don't wanna lose it but I probably won't do another extended warranty care from any of them. I've had a couple of them and I've had really no great experiences.

I went with Omega because it was cheap and everything they were saying sounded good to me. But it's not. I’ve had them for a while but they're not doing a good job for me because I don't understand how they do it. They explain that you take your car into the shop and they’re supposed to reimburse you your money. I got an oil change and they charged me $63 and some cents. I went to Staples and faxed the paperwork to them but I haven’t got anything back. They said they have so many paperwork and that it would take some time. I understand the covid-19 situation but it’s been more than three months.

Now I'm getting ready to go and get the brakes on my car done. They told me they'll be taking $100 and they’ll be reimbursing me whatever it costs for my brakes. I talk to this lady all the time and she told me what to do. She told me that I can just give the shop the policy number and let the shop call Omega. The last time they did that, they couldn't get in touch with the people. I don't know if it’s a scam or what. I’m thinking about canceling because I don't understand it. Every time I call them or even when I'm faxing them the papers like they tell me to, I don’t get a response. Every month, they take out $24.99 out of my account but they're not doing anything that they’re supposed to be doing.

I have a Boss 302 Mustang with a Coyote engine covered with Omega Auto Care. It’s a high performance. It’s the most beautiful car. She gets the best care. I just got back from Louisiana. I was out visiting friends. I drove out there, and I took it into Ford there to have them check it out. I put 3,000 miles on the car in two weeks. Still, it has 35,000 miles on it.

I love my car. I got a letter from Omega saying that they knew about Gilbert Ford. When I talked to the guys in their office there, they had a picture of the car. They knew the car. So I said, “I’ll go with them.” I see CarShield on TV all the time. I’ve dealt with Home Shield on my mother's house, and I had to cuss at them to get them to stop trying to bill us for cancelling our contract. So, anything with Shield on it, I just stay away. So, I picked Omega. My claim to get the oil change done worked out very well. I knew it would be expensive because it's the best oil there is and it’s 8 quarts, not 5. They did a 24 point check, which I get done every six months. They rotated my tires and they did a bunch of other stuff. I was very satisfied with the service.

So, I signed up with Omega. I had a claim for my battery. Everybody says you can go wherever you want to go and get these things done, and you can't. I went to AutoZone where I got my battery and whoever I was speaking to the company said that all I had to do was go in and tell them. They would get in touch with you. All they had to do was call and say that I got the battery and they would reimburse it. None of that happened. I had to pay for it. When I called, I gave all the information. I assumed that they were going to send my $100. They never did.

They just told me I had to have my oil change on time at the dealership. I found out recently that they covered that so I filed a claim. They sent me the papers, I filled them out and sent them in. But then they said I couldn't file any more claims after November. I haven't had a very good experience and much satisfaction from Omega so far. I had to do a repair on my car and to do that, the shop had to send some pictures with the damaged thing before Omega could approve if they were gonna pay for the claim or not. In the end, I had to authorize the shop to open the engine to verify what was going on and to see what really happened. That was a risk that I had to take before to know if Omega was gonna take care of the car or not after. They don't cover screws, gaskets, or washers. I had to pay an extra thing that was more than the deductible. It was not too much. But it was kind of ridiculous. If you're going to change a piece in the car and they have washers and screws, and they probably would get damaged at the moment that you’re taking out, that should be covered by the policy because it's part of the repair.

    Carlos,

I can understand how the tear down process can seem unnecessary and confusing for a consumer, and I do apologize if it stressed you out in any way. However, I am glad that you mentioned it in this review, along with your positive outcome since other people sometimes question this process as well. It is an important part of diagnosing the vehicle, both to find out if the failure is covered, but also to make sure that the correct part is fixed the first time, so that YOU do not have to bring your vehicle back to the repair facility.

I also agree with you on the issue of screws and fasteners. So much in fact that when we changed our contracts this year, I had it added. I am sorry that it isn't retroactive, but I wanted you to know that you were right in your thinking, and that I agree.

Thank you for being part of the Omega Auto Care family.

I had an AC evaporator that went out and I was hoping to do my maintenance stuff on Saturday since I work full-time. I was disappointed that my contract only includes a Monday through Friday type of thing. It could have been communicated to me on the forefront. It was inconvenient to have to take time off from work to get the AC fixed. I went on a Saturday and they couldn’t give me service until Monday. So, I gave them my paperwork and they said that they would call and get the claim started and then, bring the car back in. The ball got dropped on Monday. I called around lunchtime and asked how the work was coming along. They said that they didn’t have the authorization yet. They should be able to pick up a phone and get a pre authorization. By half the day on Monday, my car was still not fixed. I didn’t like that.

For what I pay for my extended warranty, that was not customer-focused. That should have been done ahead of time when they had all the information at their disposal on that Saturday. They should have made a phone call on Saturday so that they could start work first thing Monday morning. That would be a good process improvement. All it is about is picking up the phone and making a call. I understand people are busy on Saturdays but Omega should have someone in the clerical office that can make those phone calls. Even a receptionist could call and get the process rolling. But I was happy with the services that the provider did. Everything seems to be working good now and I haven’t had any problems with the AC since. Also, I didn’t pay anything out of pocket. I just had to file the claim and then get it pre-approved.

I gave the information to Denny Menholt GMC and they did all of the talking, but apparently, I don't have a bumper-to-bumper, all electrical, all mechanical warranty like the lady on the phone told me. The claim was for the upper and lower ball joints, air conditioner, compressor, and struts of my 2016 Yukon Denali XL. The policy covered part of what the original paperwork said, but they didn't cover the expensive stuff that needed to be fixed like they originally said they were going to. My original warranty was bumper-to-bumper, three years, no questions asked and then, the first time that I go to use it, the only thing that they covered was the upper ball joints. I'd like to see that they honor the policy that's being sold.

Omega Auto Care had a better warranty than anybody else, and I'd rather that all the computer systems on my Denali truck be covered than not covered. Everything went great with the person I spoke with over the phone. However, more clarity with the dealership and Omega Auto could be improved. When I took my truck in, it took them four hours to pay for the procedure that I had done. It was a lot of Omega Auto Care not getting the emails that they needed to pay the people. It was down to a wire, and we had five minutes left to get it done or I had to leave my truck at the dealership. I had to get my air conditioner fixed, and I had to sit there an extra four hours. Stuff happens though. I have a business, so I know how it goes.

I've got an oil change and I put the claim in with Omega. I never did get my money. I let them know that I have not received my money. The girl said I must have thrown it in the garbage. I always check my mail. Then she said that they sent it out on the 10th of the August. I told her I have not received it. So they told me that I have to wait until the 10th of this month, and then they will reissue me a check.

My truck was acting up when I took it to have the oil changed. They said that I needed an alternator. They approved me for the alternator, but I was on the other side of town when my truck started acting up again, and it didn't want to go. So, I had to call a tow truck to tow me to another dealership. They took me to another dealership and there they said I needed a transmission too. I was calling Omega, asking them where was I supposed to get a rental car. Normally, I have had an extended warranty, I never had to pay for my rental car up front. Once I leave it at the dealership, I normally get another car. I never experienced that far. Then they started running me around in circles. All I wanted to do was get a car. I got the extended warranty because I don't have money like that.

The rep said that I had to go ahead and purchase my own rental car, and they would reimburse me. I asked her how did she want me to believe that they were gonna reimburse me when they hadn’t even reimbursed me for the oil change. One thing led to another and she said that the supervisor was out to lunch, and he’d come back at 2:30. It was 2:45 when I was talking to her, and I'd seen that she was just giving me the runaround. I was really getting frustrated by this time. I said, “Why you guys can't just go ahead and approve for me to have this transmission?” She said that they didn't get the numbers from the dealership. So, I called back the next day and then she said that, “Oh, they had to take pictures of the transmission.”

I'm waiting for the dealership to call me back. I called them and the guy was busy. I understood that because I've been running this guy ragged to send the numbers in and whatever pictures Omega was asking for. I am really getting a headache by this time. It was like the rep was trying to make me think that something fraudulent was going on. I said, “I pay all this money for repairs or whatever I'm getting done and I can't even get you guys to approve it.” I hadn't even went to work for three days. I couldn't get a rental car. I didn't have the money.

    Janneth,

I am sorry you are so unhappy with your policy that you felt we deserved a 1-star review, especially since we have paid $4,901.25 to fix your vehicle in a 45 day period. It states very clearly in your policy that the rental is on a reimbursement basis, which quite frankly makes this review both unfair and inaccurate. The contract is meant to be followed by BOTH parties, and we approved your rental benefits for the ENTIRE time of your approved claim. Your inability to take advantage of them was no fault of ours, and there was nothing we could have done to change that.

We hope that you reconsider the facts, and find it in your heart to update your review based on them.

Once we have a vehicle for a certain amount of time, things start to happen so I want to have extra coverage on it to make sure that it covers whatever I need when that time happens. I spoke to someone from Omega on the phone. They had great customer service. That really helped me understand and I was happy with it.

I'm still waiting because I was waiting on an updated card. I have a booklet from Omega and I have a card. I got a call that my extended warranty part on it for the full coverage of my car was expiring. This was a couple of months ago, so I renewed it. It was like 249, and I renewed it. I had a full service done on my car as far as lube oil, filter changed, tires checked, air pressures and hoses. I sent in my claim to their office because I still haven't had the new card yet, and I spoke with a lady. She had to email me a copy of what I needed, but I had already paid for the service. They said, "Our system will just email to us. We have 45 days, and we will reimburse the part that we need to reimburse you for." I still haven't got my reimbursement though. It's been over two weeks ago.

With Omega's claims process, I’m good with it. I'm satisfied with that part. The very first time I used Omega, I have my lube oil and filter done. I was there at the place, I showed the gentleman my card, he called the number and they took care of it right away. The second time when I get ready to have something done to my car, a few days before that, I got a call that my extended warranty on it was expired. I renewed it and the rep told me I'll have a new card in the mail, but I was going to have my car serviced. So she told me to just show the service shop that I do have coverage, and then they'll reimburse me. I just need to send them the receipt and a copy of the whole claim and the receipt and I did all of that.

Omega could handle their response to my phone call better. When I called the claims people, I wasn't getting the answer on the phone. I was getting a voice mail. But the very first time though that I went and I reached out to them, I got somebody on the phone and they just told me, "Yeah, just show them your card when you get there and we'll take care of the claim." But the second time that I call, I just kept getting a voice. I couldn't get anybody on the phone. Now that part is disappointing. When you're trying to handle business, especially when it comes to your vehicle or stuff on your home , you wanna get somebody on the phone that could help you, so that you can get answers. We're dealing with a pandemic right now. I don't wanna be around people over there anyway.

They were telling to go to some other place to get my car fixed, but I didn’t wanna go. If I wanted my car fixed, I wanna take it to the dealership because it's them who work on the car. My deductible is $100 and altogether I had to pay $130 something.

I'm satisfied with Omega but if I'm paying them this much a month for a 5-year 100,000-mile warranty, I'm curious about what is it that they don't cover. I had the vehicle covered about three months then the shocks went out in the back. They didn’t cover it so I had to come out almost $500. Omega Auto Care offered everything that another warranty offered at a better price. I got my powertrain and my electrical covered for the same price as I do for my powertrain for this other warranty company. Also, the first few batteries, my first set of breaks and a couple of other things were free. Those were things that I would eventually need to change. I was coming into a used vehicle and I didn't really know anything about it. The first three oil changes were free as well. So that helped out a lot.

I do my servicing through Burkins Chevrolet in Macclenny ‘cause I live in Baldwin. It's only about 15 minutes away from my house. I was hearing some noise in my vehicle and I asked them to check it to know what it could possibly be and see if it would be covered under my warranty with Omega. The tech found out that the tie rod ends were worn out. He also said that it was covered under my warranty. So they replaced it and I got my truck back. It was great. I also have had a couple of little issues with the truck and I’m really thankful that I have an extended warranty. I never was really big into extended warranties. But with the experience that I've had with my used 2500, they saved me money and all that that I would not have wanted to fork out. So the $3,000 that I've paid for has been a lifesaver.

I have everything on the truck that I possibly could get in terms of coverage for how many miles is on it. It's the next step down from the bumper-to-bumper one because of the mileage on my truck. Omega said they couldn’t give me the very top class one because of that. I am making payments of 130 something dollars a month on it. It actually covers the vehicle up to 200,000 miles for four years, I think. But my payment plan is supposed to be paid off within two years.

My truck had been in the shop for the air conditioner and Omega went ahead and took care of it. But with the transmission issue, the truck was out for three months 'cause Omega was too worried about looking for a cheaper transmission instead of getting the one rebuilt. I had to pay my deductible and I rented a van while I was still waiting for my vehicle to be fixed. I rented it right from where they told me to rent it from Enterprise. But I never got my money back for the car rental. Omega should have covered the car rental but they said that I didn’t turn my billing in time. Also, they were supposed to reimburse me for 30 days for the car rental but I had the car rental for longer than that. That was the only issue I had so far with them. I wouldn’t recommend them because the car rental wasn't reimbursed to me and I had to wait for three months.

It did take a little over a week for your claim to be approved, but once it was, it took over 2 months for your repair facility to repairs your vehicle. Once the claim has been approved, and the part has arrived, we have no way of making it go faster. At that point it is completely up to the repair facility. Good Morning,

I am sorry that you feel confused by companies working together to provide the best service possible in our individual fields of expertise, but I can assure you we are no scam. If we were, we'd be one incredibly elaborate, and outlandishly expensive one. You were mailed a 100% refund by Vehicle Protection Center, and if you haven't received it yet, I am sure you will shortly.

This "review" is both slanderous and false, and quite irresponsible since it is quite harmful to our reputation. Not only has there been no wrong doing, but you have NEVER spoken to Omega Auto Care. We are the product that you purchased, but we have had no contact with you. We would greatly appreciate it if you took down this review. Thanks in advance.

I am definitely not paying to insure two cars when I only have one. I'm trying to handle this on my own but I'm on the verge of having my attorney get involved, I'm paying for a car I don't own. Omega called me right after I bought the vehicle. I didn't get the extended warranty from the factory and I talked to Omega's rep and it sounded interesting. Also, the price wasn't that bad and pretty much most everything is covered. I went ahead and went with them. I feel pretty good about the coverage. They've done me right. There was one towing from my house to the dealership and it was fairly quick and easy to get all that arranged and set up. The issue was a bad fuel injector and they had no problems fixing that. There's a $100 deductible and I wish it was a little lower but compared to what I would put out if I had to pay for the fix myself, the deductible is sweet. When it gets close to the year or mileage, I hope that they would send me out something to be able to renew it because I’ll definitely renew it.

For claims, I had to go out to the place to see the car for the price. After that, the guys will call Omega on the price. Then, they tell the mechanic what’s the maximum amount they'll pay, and I'll pay the rest. The last time, I got to pay the $100 deduction and I had to pay even more money.

My claim with Omega went through but I wasn't really happy that they didn’t cover everything. I thought they would cover the thermostat, but they didn't. I was kinda misled by that. The claim was for the rotors and something. But it didn’t cover the whole percentage of it and I had to come out-of-pocket. I thought that's what I paid for the insurance to cover everything. They made it sound like they would cover everything. I’m still paying for it because I need protection. I was disappointed that when I signed up for it, they made it seem like the protection will cover everything within the vehicle.

The claim was handled pretty quickly. I was out of the car for maybe three days, but the dealership had the Jeep send them paperwork. Then I didn't like the point where I had to be reimbursed for a rental car. They should have paid for it out-of-pocket. Omega needs to be very clear of what the customer is responsible for. The booklet is not very clear either.

From what I have seen so far, I like it and they do as they say, and that's what I really look for.

I usually go to the dealership to have my vehicle serviced and I was really upset with Al Serra because they have swindled me more than once. But I don’t know anywhere to go. Omega gave me advice on where to take my car and get it serviced quickly and someone that would do it at a reasonable price. I needed it quickly because that was my only transportation. Omega Auto Care called me one day. The enrollment was easy. They told me about the coverage and about how to extend the warranty that first year and then you get the other four years covered. My first claim with them was for the trunk door that wouldn't open, so it's some kinda electronics. Originally, they said to go ahead and pay it and then they would reimburse me. Then, a couple weeks went by, there was no check or anything. I called back, and then they said the VIN number is wrong. So, they had to correct the VIN and then they redid the claim. They said they will send a check, and then still, there was nothing. About a month after, I called back to get my check. They said it was sent to the wrong address and that they would update it and send it back. A month or two went by. Again, I called back, and they said, “Well, see, your claim wasn't covered."

On the second claim, recently, I had to get a part replaced in the engine. The oil filter was leaking. So, I had to get a replacement part for that. So, I put the claim in. After I had placed order the part and put it in, then they said they wouldn’t pay for it because they didn't order the part from them. I went back and forth with that, and then, I paid half. I paid half of it. It was all-around not a good experience. Their customer service is not all that great. They could improve their attitude and communication. They’ll just transfer me over without telling me anything or who they’re transferring me over to.

For the first year, you automatically get some kind of maintenance contract that goes with it. I had a lady call me in June and informed me that I have the coverage, and it would cover $30 to the wiper or so much for batteries and brake pads. I told her I just had all that done and asked if I could turn it in. She said yes and to email or fax a receipt. I sent all my stuff that I have from Ford and they sent me a check for 180 bucks. I just got it last week so I was kinda happy with some free money. I hope the warranty works as good as that did ‘cause I didn’t even know I had it till she told me. I am sorry that you are unsatisfied with your coverage. I looked through your invoices, and the only this I show as not being covered, was a door latch, which is simply a body part. With any coverage like this, dealership or otherwise, body components are NEVER covered. The good news is that so far we have paid out $2,246.86 in claims, and you still have 16 months of coverage left.

If there were other items that were not covered, I would like to hear about it. I will send you an email to get more details. Have a great day!

They even took off some of the hours and I still ended up paying $500 out of pocket for hours they didn't cover.

The shop had to take the car back a couple of times and I had to leave it with them. They said that anytime that the problem was electrical, it would be a process of elimination. Even if they hooked it up to the computer, the computer wouldn't say what the problem was. Other than that, Omega has been great. I would recommend them. I filed two claims with Omega. One was in regard to my driveshaft and that one kinda didn't go too well as I expected. Nonetheless, my truck did get fixed. It's just the situation on how it went down. My driveshaft came out on me on a Sunday evening. It left me stranded in the middle of the freeway. The next place I could probably take my truck to or get it towed to was the Chevy house there. By the time the tow truck got to me and we delivered the truck, it was already almost 9 o'clock. The dealership was already closed already. They dropped me off at the airport 'cause that was where I was gonna be able to get mobile as far as getting a rental 'cause everything else was closed. It didn't work so I had to pay for the hotel that night which was about $115.

Since it was on a Sunday evening, I couldn't get a technician or an auto mechanic to sit here and file that claim for me. How was I supposed to get somebody to file the claim for me if their work hours were already passed and it was already too late? I was supposed to be reimbursed $115, my gas, and everything that I was accumulating while my truck was in the shop. I saved the receipts and submitted it to them. I also bought a meal. I had to get out of the hotel by 11 o'clock the next day and that's when they were able to file my claim. Because they didn't file the claim Sunday night, they didn't reimburse me my hotel stay and the gas.

Since I couldn't get a rental, the Chevy house went ahead and paid that rental for me so I could get something mobile to get back home. All of that was put on a ticket where I had to pay out of pocket when I had to go pick up my truck. That too was about $200-something and wasn't reimbursed to me because technically it wasn't under my name. All I got reimbursed was $30 for an In-N-Out Burger meal. As far as getting my truck going, they went ahead and paid for the driveline and U-joints.

My second claim that was filed was not too long ago. It was in regards to my AC condenser and compressor, all dealing with manufactured factory things. I went back straight to the Chevy dealership because everything has to come back out of the Chevy house no matter what. They checked it out and told me what was wrong. They also asked how did I wanna pay with it. I told them I'd file the insurance on Omega because it's supposed to be insured.

They wanna get a part from somewhere else to put in there, and I’m not down with that. It’s a Dodge and the dealer sells the parts for their automobile. It might be more expensive than somewhere else, but I don’t believe in getting across the counter parts. They’ve had the truck for a little over a week now and that’s been a problem. Everything else is fixed and ready to go. It’s just the air conditioner shuts off because this part is getting hot and the compressor shuts down to protect the other parts. I’m very displeased because I thought once I got this insurance, I was covered. I’m paying over $3,000 for this insurance, and they're trying to go against the dealer.

I was really impressed with Omega Auto Care and I'm happy to have their type of protection plan. I've owned cars many times before and when the manufacturer's warranty expires, I've always ended up paying out of pocket astronomically for repairs. Also, monthly payments to Omega have been very reasonable. They fit perfectly into my budget. Every time I spoke with someone from there, customer service was amazing, even for simple questions. The reps were very professional and all of my concerns and needs were answered. When I drive my car, I have so much confidence because I have protection in case something breaks down I can take my vehicle to the dealership and get it repaired.

For my last claim, my headlight had gone out. My neighbor who is really good with cars checked it and said the bulb is ought. He replaced the bulb and less than five days later, the bulb went out again. I then thought there was something wrong with the wiring. When I took it in to have it serviced, the dealership was able to call Omega who then took care of the claim for me. They called me and told me that the dealership called them and told them what was going on. They reassured me that they already took care of everything in case the dealership would call and say something different.

Being a female, the dealership tried me. They called and told me this amount and that amount. I told them that Omega's rep already assured me that everything was gonna be taken care of. I called Omega back and they told me exactly what they were covering and what my bill would be. They said when the dealership calls me to pick up my car, all I would do is pay my $100 deductible. I would've had to pay this great big deal as opposed to paying a simple $100 deductible. That was amazing. Omega's reps are like attorneys who fight for me as their customer.

My Omega warranty is one of the best investments I've ever made. I will never own a car without having this type of protection again. It is like having health for your car. Since I've had it, I've been nothing but pleased. My coverage goes all the way up to next year and before it expires, I'm gonna buy it again. I've even told my family and friends about it.

I filed a claim with Omega for my truck's window switch and the process was really slow. It took me about two hours to get through to somebody. I also did that to the dealership and gave them my information. The next day I dropped off my truck. They got it done and the claim ended up costing me a 100-buck deductible. I thought it would be 100% covered. Omega's price is over there with every other company. I'm satisfied but I'd tell people to shop around.

I'm satisfied with Omega. But I was a college student and at the time, the contract was expensive. They take care of their end of the bargain though. Whenever issues come up, they take care of my vehicle pretty decently. It would be better to have a factory warranty on your vehicle than just getting an extended warranty. However, I would recommend keeping the extended warranty and updating it, so you can work directly with your dealership. For Omega's claims process, the service guy at the Mercedes Benz car dealership talks directly to them.

The process in getting a warranty from Omega was an easy one but I didn’t understand at first that you had to put on 1,000 miles before it takes into effect. They didn’t do my first claim because of that. All I do is drive the vehicle from the house to the senior center every day. When you’re a senior citizen, you don’t drive the average mileage that a person does every day. So, I had to do some out of pocket repairs. But on the next problem that came up, I was able to get it finally taken care of after hitting the 1,000 miles. We had to wait a couple of weeks for parts to come in but it was just normal wait time and this is one of the things that we didn’t have any control over.

    Nancy,

The 30 day and 1000 mile validation period is standard in our industry, and after looking at the claim you are referring to, you had only driven the car about 100 miles, and was 3 days outside of validation, so the issue you had most likely predated the purchase date of the contract. However, I am happy to see that we have paid $3,060.79 claims since you purchased the policy just a few months ago.

We hope that you are overall satisfied with the policy, and continue to be an Omega Auto Care customer for years to come.

They say it's too cumbersome and takes too long for them to get paid from Omega. Other than that, I got two oil changes through Omega. I'm supposed to get three, but I don't drive my car enough to have needed three within that year.

The only thing is I keep getting something in the mail. I got something in the mail just a day or two ago about extended warranty and the prices are gonna go up. That happened to me once before. And so, I called their number and talked to a man to make sure it wasn't Omega, and I think it was Endurance. I also had somebody call me from Omega back in December who was telling me that it was expired and that I needed to renew it. But it wasn't expiring until February. So, in January, when I got ready to change my oil, I called back again. The gentleman that answered me that time looked it up, and he said, "No, you still got 'till February." So, I got the oil changed again.

I am very sorry to hear that you had such trouble with your claim. We do everything we can to move a claim along as fast as possible, but we are only as good as the information we receive from your repair facility. In your case we waited for photos from your repair facility for an entire month. You were then forced to move the vehicle because they were unable to perform the repair. As much as I wish we could have done more, we can't force your repair facility to cooperate even though we called several times to follow up. One day I was backing the car out of the garage and the back up camera screen worked fine. I went over to Longview and when I put the car in reverse, the camera didn't come up. I also had a claim with the radio screen and it took a couple of days. It didn't take long.

I was well-pleased with Omega. However, the yearly insurance was coming up due in about a month and I thought, why should I pay more insurance on it and it's just sitting in the garage? I canceled the rest of the policy and decided to sell the car 'cause I wasn't driving it very much. I didn't see any reason to leave an extended warranty on it because I had a buyer for it by then.

I was losing the current warranty that I had on my car, and I’d done some research online and saw that the Omega one was good. I’ve submitted one claim and I got pretty lucky. There were two things wrong with the car, one was the fuel sensor and the other was the transmission. The transmission, luckily, was still covered on the original warranty ‘cause I didn’t have as many miles on the car.

Omega was awesome. I got a couple of phone calls from them. They processed the claim and took care of their end. I have no complaints about Omega at all though the process took a while because of the way the car was. They thought they fixed it, then they realized they didn’t. But the original problem, the one that was covered by Omega which was the fuel sensor, took about 48 hours. It was pretty quick. The repair shop from Ford contacted Omega and let them know what it was. Then I got a phone call saying that they were gonna approve it. It was great customer service.

I work for the post office and we have a saying there called CYA (Cover Your **), and warranties cover you. You look at the payment month-to-month. Sometimes, you sit there and think, “What am I paying it for?” But at the end of the day, if something happens, for what the out-of-pocket cost is gonna cost you or for something that could be thousands and thousands of dollars, it’s definitely worth it. It gives you that peace of mind knowing that. My wife and I have one vehicle so if something happens, we need to have something fixed and fast and not costing us a mortgage or more. I’ve recommended Omega to people that work up at my office and a couple of other people are actually gonna be looking online.

Omega was better than some of the others that I had talked with. A fellow called and he made the warranty sound real good. It was advertising. But so far, it has been pretty good. The dealership told me that this was a pretty good warranty because most warranties don’t pay for a lot of stuff on the vehicles. In fact, I had one claim and it was great. I was having some problems with my car. It was showing that it was running hot and then I had this gas smell that had started. So I took it to the dealership and they told me it was the radiator.

Only thing I didn't agree with with Omega was that they had to change out the water pump that was making it run hot. Everybody knows once you change out a water pump, you have to change out the thermostat. But just because that thermostat didn't show that it was messing up, they didn't pay for that. That was $180 I had to pay out of my pocket. That’s the bad experience I had with it. Everything has to show a fault code. But sometimes, common sense has to come into play. You can’t go right by the book on different things. The thermostat goes inside the water pump, right on top of it, and you can’t change one without changing the other. But other than that, everything was good. If everything that coincides with the other is changed out and they represent each one of those components, that would be better.

So I decided to change that and try to get somebody that’s more reliable.

With Omega, the first time I got an oil change was easy indeed. But the second time I went to do it with my other car, Omega gave me the runaround. But other than that, so far, the service is all right. I dealt with that in just an oil change and although I hope that I don’t have any breakdown, if I do have a breakdown, I’m hoping that they’ll do what they said they’re gonna do because I was told all I had to do was find whoever would work on my vehicle and give them the packet then they’ll go from there. If the time comes that I need to do that, I hope that Omega will honor the agreement.

I had thought about purchasing coverage when I was at that the dealership and I actually went through another one but the person through Omega convinced me that the company charged me so little that it wasn't a real company. First of all, they said that my claims will never go through and secondly, that it was probably a scam. You buy an insurance policy then two years later you're gonna use it and realize you got scammed because it's not a real policy. You'll only know it's a real policy when you go to the dealership and get work done and they pay.

With Omega, the dealership was able to file the claim and apparently, it was paid. I've had the insurance for eight months now and I've filed one claim. It was good. But I don't think they should have charged Omega for it though because it was a recall. I have a five-year powertrain limited warranty, 100,000 miles, three years basic limited warranty and five-year roadside assistance. My car had been totaled by a drunk driver and I'm having to buy another one. So I talked to the gentleman who sold me the policy and he told me that he already closed it out and that I needed to call back. I had 45 days to call back and turn it back on. Other than that, the price of the policy was a lot more than another company. But I understand it's an exclusion policy.

Omega did handle the only claim that I had with them and I was happy for it. It was a radiator and a steering stabilizer at the same time. I took it to the dealership. I called Omega and they got right ahold of the dealership. They worked everything out. The lady at the dealership came back out 10 minutes later and told me that they had to process the payment for the repair. They got the parts in on a Tuesday, I dropped my vehicle off on a Wednesday, and I picked it back up Thursday. When I tried to cancel though, that was a totally different story. I traded my vehicle in on a new Jeep Gladiator, and they worked out a really good deal with an extended warranty so I didn’t need the Omega warranty. But I was very satisfied with Omega. Knowing that my vehicle would be fixed in the event of a breakdown gave me peace of mind.

Then, I had my second claim in December which was for an oil change. I didn't notice that I didn't have to pay for the oil change. There was no deductible for the 3 free oil change that I got. I paid and I ended up having to wait on the money when I wasn't supposed to pay out. But they had the people that was doing it call and get paid. However, I still haven't gotten paid for this second claim. The guy in disbursement told me that it had got tied up, and they sent them out on Friday. I paid 100 and they picked up about 400, which was good. It took a little longer because the auto repair place would not release anything until they received the payment and the payment was done electronically. I was there for quite a while, waiting. I have had them change the tires, as well as put new brakes on the front, brake pads, and rotors. I was happy with those two, but I'm not happy now with the oil change. I got a Ford Edge and it is an all-wheel drive. I would consider that the rack and pinion steering thing of the all-wheel drive part had to be replaced, but they said that they were not going to cover that. I said that it is part of the drive shaft and without it, I can't turn the wheels. But, they said that they refuse to pay for it. I even said, "I'll buy the part and have them put it in." They said, "We're not even gonna do that either." I was happy up until that point. The mechanic had no problem with Omega with the first couple of times, and Omega paid them right off the bat. I used to go to Muffler Man but they had so many problems with so many other insurance from Omega that they don't do them anymore. So, it took the mechanic two weeks for them to get paid.

    David,

It is unfortunate to hear that you are so unhappy with your coverage, especially since we only followed the terms of the contract. People are sold the highest level of coverage that they qualify for the day they purchase, and since your vehicle was 11 years old with 185,196 miles on it, you qualified for a Powertrain Enhanced coverage. Steering components are not part of a Powertrain Enhanced coverage, which is why your claim was denied.

You received $130 towards your brake pads as part of your Omega Maintenance Benefits as stated in your policy, so we are rather confused as to why we received the negative start rating. If you have additional questions, please reach out to our office.

I had a couple of warranties that weren't so efficient and I went through a lot of changes trying to get in touch with them to get my auto care taken care of. So, I looked for another warranty company and chose Omega. During the times when things like oil changes were supposed to happen, just the initial time was a little lengthy trying to get hooked up. After that, I have had no problems. The repair people do their part that's required by Omega and everything is expedient, usually within the same hour.

Recently, I had a claim for my alternator and I went to Midas Auto Care which has been taking care of my vehicles for 20 years. With Omega, I can take my vehicle to anyone that has a license and is an accredited company. Omega has something though where they pay for one part but not on the other when it's one whole thing. The mechanic told me that it is what it was. Still, I got some help and I got the work done. I've also done some other work on my car and they've paid $100 on tires or batteries. It's better than me having to pay all of it out of pocket.

I called the mechanic that I used for a BMW that I owned. When I mentioned the name of Omega, he said that he works with them. I could trust them, which was why I went with them.

Their claim process went very nicely. I took my 2015 Nissan Versa to the Nissan dealer for a brake and Omega had given me a free brake job. Once the dealer evaluated the car, they told me that the control arms were wearing out. I noticed that my front tires were both wearing unevenly. The back tires were fine and the car was less than six months old so that was the reason the tires were wearing bad. They quoted what it would cost to fix it. I gave them the card that Omega sent me when I bought the warranty program. They contacted Omega, got the verification to do the work, and completed it. Omega paid more than 50% and I covered the rest. I've recommended Omega to everybody that I've talked to about that card.

But when I used it for my trunk that got stuck and there were some parts that needed to be replaced, I heard from AAA that when they contacted Omega, they told them that only part of the transactions would be covered. I needed to take care of the rest, which was more than what I was expecting.

Another thing is Omega told me that for the first 3 or 4 services, the oil cost is covered. They have a coupon for that. But when I was going for my car service with Honda and presented the coupon, they told me that they could not take it directly. I needed to fax them my bill then they would reimburse it. That impacted me because I was expecting that I didn’t need to pay upfront, the cost would be covered and I didn’t need to fax. But Omega is still good because I’m getting covered. It’s still much better than not having the coverage but if someone can find a little better coverage, they should go for that.

I'm satisfied with Omega but they need improvement in answering their phones and getting through to the claim faster and not cutting corners. I had an issue where it would seem my bearings on my left tire are not completely destroyed yet, but they make the noise. The mechanics tell you one thing and the inspectors tell you something else. Now, I have to wait 'til the bearings are completely dead. And does that happen while I'm driving? I don't like that. You don't have to have something destroyed for you to change it.

Omega's claim process is long because my car ends up at the dealership for 5 days before Omega approves something. I don't have a car 'cause they won't give you a car and tell you, "Well, if we don't approve you, then you have to pay for the car." So, you end up driving around in this car that's not drivable because you don't wanna pay 5 days of renting a car since according to Omega, your car doesn't have a problem. But according to the mechanic and me that's driving it, it does!

When I started my truck, it didn’t start. I thought it was a dead battery, but a couple of vehicles tried to jump me. When it won't start, I contacted my friend who knows more about the vehicle and said it was the fuel pump. When I dropped it at the shop, they were determined that it was the fuel pump too. So, they changed it. The shop had a direct interaction with Omega and from what I heard, it was a smooth transaction. Everything went fine.

I was in a hurry to get some insurance on it, so I went with them. But now that time has gone by, I could see a couple of better places. However, I'm tied to a contract with them for 150,000 miles and all the way up to 2022.

Their claims process takes a little longer. When you go to the shop, they gotta call Omega Auto Care, which takes a while. They also have to go through some kinda credit card process over the phone and this and that. It’s kind of a lot, too. I usually have to set my appointments up for 7 o’clock in the morning and I don’t get out of there until close to noon.

I pay Omega Auto Care $24.99 a month and I've gotten an oil change and a new battery. I also get discounts on all that kinda stuff. When it was getting cold here, I got my radiator flushed out and what I had to pay wasn’t very much and was well worth it. A battery is expensive. Also, when I hit a chuckhole and my tire rod got bent, they paid for it. I had to pay a $100 deductible though. I’m satisfied with them.

When we filed a claim, the only thing I didn't particularly care for is we had to go to certain places. They didn't acknowledge or knew what we needed them to do. When I went to get our oil changed, we had to take it to Firestone and then the person had to call in and get the okay -- I thought we would be able to take it to anywhere to get the oil changed. I would like to see us have a card where you can take it to the place and they would be able to swipe it and we'd get it done. Nevertheless, with the coverage on the AC condenser, everything has been working fine.

I didn't have a problem at all going through Omega. But it was the car place that tried to rip me off. I took my car in for other reason, that it was sluggish. Then it was still sluggish. And they said, "It needs a new coil ignition." That was why I took in the car, that it was sluggish in the first place.

I was a little pissed when I took the vehicle in, the auto place was supposed to do it in the first place. Then when I went and picked up the car, they said it was done. Then when I took off, the light came on, then it went off, then it blinked at me, then it went off. It stayed off for the whole day. Then it came back on Saturday and it stayed on until Monday. I had to take it back in Monday and they fixed it. And then, they said, "It's gonna cost you a 100 bucks." I came home and I had Bruce from Omega call them. Then the rep from the auto place called me back. She said, "It won't cost you anything. Bring it back in." So, I took it in yesterday at 1 o'clock when I had appointment. Omega Auto Care paid for everything. I didn't have to pay out of my pocket.

The mechanic at the Volkswagen dealership filed a couple of things for the 2014 Volkswagen which I had covered with Omega Auto Care. They had to change some joint bearings, some maintenance stuff, oil change, etc. Originally, when I started with Omega, one of the reasons why they sold me on the extended warranty was that they said all my electronics, my radio and navigation would be covered. For some reason, my audio system, reverse camera, that unit was not working. I took that into Volkswagen for them to look at it. They told me they need to repair it or replace it and it was $2,100 to do the repair. Omega did not cover me on that.

They were telling me I didn’t put that in my contract and I said, “No, that was the selling point of my whole thing.” They said that I did not apply that to my car unit. I talked to people and tried to get a supervisor. I caught a supervisor and they said this and that. I said, ‘Okay, let’s just do it like this. I want to reinsure my car and I want you to cover my deck unit.” When I asked them that, they said they don’t do that.

I said, “Okay, so you’re telling me that even if I did say okay, I'm starting a new coverage with you guys and I want my deck covered, you guys said you couldn’t do it so you couldn’t even do it in the first place.” That was where I realized that they were blowing smoke. They just didn’t want to cover or they thought it was too much. I have owned different cars and I've been covered all the time that I've had cars. My biggest thing is always the electronics because the cars these days no longer have great mechanical stuff. It’s mainly electronics. I knew off the bat when I got this car brad new that I needed to make sure I got all the electronics covered. That’s where the most money is gonna be coming from if anything ever goes wrong.

They said, “Okay, this is covered, this is covered. But your deck unit isn’t considered a main component of the car." I’m said, “Dude, what are you talking about? Cars these days, it’s everything.” The reason I fuss about it so much is because my cars have real low back view so you can’t see through the back really. They even tell you that in the reviews of the car, that is if you get this car, get it with a reversed camera. So I did and it was great. But once the deck unit went, I couldn’t reverse. I had a really hard time trying to get out of the parking spot. I had to be really careful. I knew that going forward. All this crap after was like a shocker to me because I paid my bills in full. I was making monthly payments and I never claimed anything on my cars. This is the only thing I was claiming and they wouldn’t pay for it.

When the dealership sent it in, they told me what they were gonna cover and won’t cover. I then tried to find out from the dealership what kind of pricing it was. They said they sent the whole list of repair stuff to Omega and showed me what they weren’t paying for. Apparently, it was the biggest chunk of the whole job that they weren’t paying for. All the other stuff was less than 100. But the deck was $2,000 something.

The claims process was straightforward and clear. My dealer got Omega for me. To be honest, my original dealership where I bought the car from wouldn’t take Omega because they had some problems with them in the past. I didn’t worry about it because it was just maintenance stuff they were doing and it was no big deal to me. So when this thing came up with the other issues I was having in the car and it was some mechanical stuff and the deck unit, I was like, “Look. I am not gonna go and pay for this.” So I jumped to a different dealer who said they do take Omega. I changed my dealership and they were able to file with Omega and they got their stuff cleared up except for the deck unit.

Omega only replaced the compressor. I had to pay out of my pocket 1000 dollars to fix the rest. That's not an extended warranty. Benjamin,

I am sorry that you ended up paying so much out of pocket, as that is not the way it should go. I truly wish you would have reached out to us during the claims process so that we could have given you the full story. The reason we didn't replace the dryer and expansion valve was because there was nothing wrong with them. Yes you read that right. There was nothing wrong with them, and it is NOT required that you replace those with the replacement of a compressor. Your shop also SEVERELY overcharged you for the compressor itself, which is why you had additional out of pocket cost as well. They charged you DOUBLE for the compressor kit than what we could have shipped them the part for.

And then when I called to ask what kind of transmission, they couldn't give me anything. My truck was in the shop for almost a month. It took very long. I had to get me a loaner, and then they had given me another loaner. The dealership tried something with the computer thing, and told me to drive it 200 miles. If there's still something wrong, we’re gonna start the process again, or get another transmission. From day 1, I was never satisfied with it. As of now, I would probably never get an extended warranty again. I paid almost $3,000 for the extended warranty. I could’ve bought two transmissions with that.

I called Omega yesterday and talked to Anthony. He said they were gonna take care of it and that they gotta go to the dealership and see what they say. He also asked me if the “check engine” light came on, and he said the dealership got someone to check what happened and they can start from there. I thought off the bat, that was already wrong. If the customer is not happy with the product they sent, they should’ve worked on it right away. I’m tired of bringing the truck almost every week to these people.

    Antonio,

We are sorry to hear you feel so negatively about the policy. There are some inaccuracies here, which leads me to believe that you may have gotten some incorrect information from someone.
Your claim was called in on 9/18, and the inspector came out 9/19.We authorized the claim just 4 days later, and it was completed on 10/2. So the total time for your claim was exactly 14 days, and over a week of that time was your dealership putting in the transmission. You paid $2696 for your policy, and we paid $3717.44 for the transmission, so I am sure you would agree it was well worth the money.

If your truck was in there for a month, then your dealership may not have called the claim in right away. However, the final invoice that was sent to us by your dealer shows that your truck was only there for 2 weeks.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to call us.

We were not sure where to sign it and we had to sign twice one of the forms that they sent in the mail. So, that took four days to complete. They should be a little more specific where we have to sign. It was the first time that I did it too so we didn’t have to sign it to send the form. Any other than that, the first day we spoke with the agent, it was pretty easy. The mechanic just gave him the exact codes that they wanted. Omega Auto Care's claims process has been good. I had to get some repairs done on my truck. They also came when I had to get a jump start one time. And I’ve received good service from them, so far.

I had my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit covered with Omega Auto Care and everything has always been top-chef. Whenever I have a claim, I drive the vehicle into the service department. The man there takes care of filing a claim through my book that I have in my glovebox. It’s that easy. I know I got one oil change and I got my wiper blades changed as well, and the experience was all good. I love it. In fact, I just signed my son up for his car about a month ago.

The car warranty was up so I needed an extended warranty, and I went with Omega Auto Care. I recently had a door lock assembly fixed. I took it to the agency where they fixed the car, and they called Omega. They made a deal and told me what was going down, and I accepted. The agency was charging $150 an hour to do it, but Omega only paid 125. I only had to pay the $100, but I ended up paying $150, but that's okay. I guess, that's how they do their business.

I had front brakes put on my 2011 Kia Sorento and the claims process was really easy. I left the car for repair and the claim was called in. They fixed it and they called and got a credit card number. I've had Omega Auto Care for quite a while. It seemed good to me. I'm pretty satisfied because it says it pays for the oil change too and I'm fixing to send in one. I've also talked to a couple of my friends and told them what I have.

So far, Omega has been pretty good. It’s just expensive at $148 a month. But my recent claim worked pretty good and they did what they were supposed to do. I didn’t have to pay out of pocket. The reps were very polite and the process was quick.

    Glenda,

Your payment is a little higher because of the length of your payment plan. That is not a payment you pay for the entire 5 years of your policy. Please reach out to our office to discuss your payment plan in detail.
