We had a claim recently and the dealership had to send in a video. And from the video, Omega had to send a claim representative on site before they approve it. But the dealership said they've never had to send a video. But the benefit is, I haven’t had to deal with Omega directly. One time, I had to dispute. They say a lot of things are not included and I have to get my book out. It’s not 100% positive.

My car has issues, and Omega has been a good company to work with. They took care of my needs when I needed a cooling water pump fixed. Technically, it was $1,200 or more, and I didn't have to come out of my pocket with all that money. They took care of everything from the beginning to the end. The claim process was easy, and their $100 copayment is good. It’s just the dealership that I was dealing with was expensive. Omega covered a certain percentage of the labor, and I had to pay for the rest of the service that we got.

Somebody kept calling, telling me that my Omega policy had been canceled but I paid it in full. The people who do the automatic bank draft were supposed to call me to tell me something had happened and I had to mail in my payment but they didn't do that. I didn't make my last two payments. I was in the process of getting some work done on my vehicle and that was when I found out the policy was canceled. They finally agreed that it wasn't canceled but I didn't like the fact that they don't know who's canceled and who's not. It was too expensive too. But I still have them and recommend them. They acted quickly and got things straight for me. I had already paid upfront and they sent back what they would have paid. It came up to $1,018 for the alternator and the bearing assembly. The coverage could be better though. They don't pay anything with labor. They'll pay for some parts, but not all. On my new vehicle, I'm gonna look for something that's gonna be a little better than what Omega can offer.

The shop replaced some parts, but there's still a squeak in certain circumstances when the car hits bumps. I'm gonna have to take it back in to them again. They were wanting to use some refurbished part and they said that in the contract, they could use that. I had to ask them to use factory parts. The problem is it takes a long time to get the parts. They have to come from Germany. Also, Omega doesn't have lot of room for a rent car. They could improve on their speed as well. One time, the inspector took six days to get out there, but they're supposed to get there in 24 to 48 hours. It wasted a bunch of my time on the phone with them, trying to get them to do the things they were supposed to do. At one point, whoever was managing the claims had said it was not covered. When we got looking into it further, it was covered. Omega is expensive but so far they’ve stepped up when they should have most of the time.

So far, my experience with Omega has been really good. My issue originally was that when we first started trying to get the claim, there was a really long wait time until I got to the right person. But once I got to the right people, they were very helpful and I was able to get my claims processed. I've had a couple of claims. I used the RepairPal. They had suggested if I went through RepairPal, that I would not have to pay a deductible. I found a RepairPal facility nearby and I took the car there. They assessed the situation and contacted Omega to get authorization to have the repair paid for. In both cases, they paid the full amount and I didn't have to even pay the deductible. I am 100% satisfied with Omega. I would definitely recommend them because they were able to take care of my situation completely and timely.

Crooks, to the core. I put nearly $2000 into a warranty for my Truck. They never covered ANYTHING, I even recall talking to a Meagan, who said. "I think I need to re-explain what this covers," I was attempting to get help when the wheel fell off of my truck. 1900 out of my own pocket, when I tried to cancel, they made it as hard as they could. Claiming it was my fault, they cover everything I'd sought help for in the past. They refused service then, then claimed help was available from the get go. The same Meagan who refused service made the claim it was available, I called the wrong person. I called her every time and SHE made no note. When I finally canceled service. THE ENTIRE 2000 GONE, THEY GAVE ME NO HELP, KEPT EVERY DIME I PUT IN. These people are absolute crooks.

Omega approves things right away. They replaced the turbo injector for us. The problems we've had was not usually Omega's fault. It was the mechanic’s and the shop’s. Unfortunately, with every claim, I have to get a broker involved. Once I do, things happen quickly. But each repair tends to take up to a couple of months for me to get my cars back. They have a towing option and other bonus options that I never even got to capitalize on because they're only within certain time frames and certain parameters. You can only get a rental car while your car is being worked on. But until they're working on it, you can't get the rental car.

Even though Omega provides parts, if you don't take your car to a mechanic that doesn't accept the parts from Omega, they can charge you whatever they want. Omega would say, “I'm sorry. There's nothing we can do". We had to get our car taken to another facility because one facility wanted $1,300. I could have done it myself for $300. Omega said they were trying to work with them. The broker found me found two mechanics in my town who were willing to accept the parts and charge me much less. My out-of-pocket ended up only being $100. I'm supposed to have $100 deductible. I went through the special website to schedule my appointments and Omega waived my deductible through the shop. Because we had to move my car to another shop, they even waived my deductible there, too. Omega also covered my diagnostic fee at both shops. They did good by me, especially with that particular repair. It could have cost me a lot of money but instead of costing me more, it cost me less.

I am disappointed now I don't have them because my car got too many miles. There were two times that I needed Omega for that particular car. Those two repairs covered more than I paid. It was worth it. There was the inconvenience that I didn't have my car for a few months and I had to deal with talking to different people and moving my car, but it was still cheaper than me having to buy another car or me having to pay for those things out-of-pocket.

It was the best price for me at the time and knowing that my car eventually will start breaking down. Coverage-wise, I wanted to make sure that my car was covered bumper-to-bumper. Their rep was very informative. The service would be in effect a month later. This is my second contract with Omega. I recommend Omega because they have been known to do what needs to be done. I had a good experience when I used it and things were done quickly.

The repair was for my the automatic thing on my window. My car was leaking oil from somewhere and it was a belt gasket. During this time, I was without a car for a week and a half. I did have a little trouble getting the yard to pay for my repair because Omega doesn't pay 100%. They charged a lot more than the auto shop I went to. I ended up paying 100 because the shop had messed up. That was terrible. They didn't fix my car right. The oil hadn't been filled when I took it. They left it empty. My car was showing that I needed oil right away but I just had it in the shop for repair. I had to take it back and they had to put the oil and they made sure everything was right.

Being protected with Omega Auto Care has not been the most pleasant experience. They're just the better of the evils out there. I was with them for a full term four years, and that plan expired, and I renewed just recently with them. I renewed with them specifically because they had a very large claim that they had to pay on the first policy. That experience wasn't the best, though it ended up very good. I got reimbursed on the rental car. Surprisingly, when I sent in the receipt, it was paid quickly.

I had a claim for a new transmission. It's about $7,000. I turned the car in. I brought it into the shop the day the policy expired. So, it was met with some opposition initially, but once they saw that it was still a valid policy after that, then it moved quickly. There were no issues going forward. I talked to the manager and the supervisor who initially was trying to deny the claim. I told him my personal feelings, how I don't like how this industry scrutinizes every claim that comes across their desk and looks for a way to deny them instead of being that person who can save the day because at the end of the day, that's what these policies are. They are peace of mind.

This experience was a full circle of experience because of the way that they've begun to try to deny a claim so quickly. I said, “Listen. I get it. You're in the business to make money. Obviously, you're still in business, so it stands to reason that you take in more premiums than you pay out claims. So I get it. But goodness, don't be so quick to scrutinize each and every one, kind of deal.” So, we came to the middle ground, and at the end of the day, I am happy. I just had to fight tooth and toenail the whole way. The moment they realized that they're on the hook for it, they took responsibility. They moved very expeditiously.

If you're considering Omega, make sure you get the right person to work with. Some of them are not pleasant, and I have had very bad experiences. I was talking to one woman who I was asking about canceling the policy and getting the refund and she was like, “Oh, you can just cancel it.” So, she canceled the policy without me giving her the authorization. I was only inquiring. I said, “But you didn't even do the refund.” She said, “Oh, well, you didn't say you wanted a refund.” She was going to cancel the policy, and I owe nothing more. She wasn't going to inform me that I had a refund due to me. That part was shady. I said, “Would you do that if your mother was canceling the policy?” She said, “We're not entitled to inform you that a portion can be refunded back to you.”

I worked with Omega on a claim and it was a nightmare. I had to take my car to three different shops to get the coverage that they would accept. I called before I even went to the place that I was taking it to, which was the closest to my house, and and asked with that place would take their insurance. They said all they needed to know was if they could pay over the phone. So I called the place and asked. They said yes. I took my car in, then Omega didn't cover half of the stuff. So I ended up in a war between the auto care service dealer that did a diagnostic because they wanted a $400 diagnostic charge and Omega was only willing to cover $100 of it.

I told the dealer that we were not doing that and when I asked if I could take my car, they said no and that I got to pay this diagnostic charge. I had a few things going on with the car and I realized that place was high. In the end, they let me take my car but Omega made it really hard to get any shop charge. The shops and Omega were not meeting eye to eye. The next two shops that I took my car to were both saying that they used the same national website to get their numbers and that they were using off market prices. But the insurance company was saying that they could get the parts for a different price. And these two shops were shops that Omega recommended.

I then asked Omega what shop would work with their warranty because I didn't want to do that ping pong process forever. But it was the same crap with the next guy. They said it was very difficult to get things approved, but they accepted Omega to ship them parts. But they shipped the wrong ones, so the place that I took my car to wasn't thrilled about that. It took me a month or longer to get all these things done and I still ended up coming $400 out of pocket when the whole point was to go in and get things taken care of that were part of my full coverage warranty, which weren't full coverage. The part that was good was I received customer service from Omega. They worked with me and went back and forth. Everyone was nice and professional, and I could get ahold of people, which in this day and age is nice.

Omega worked in the beginning and they did what they offer. I took the car in for oil leak and they fixed the problem. I only paid $100 because that's what the deductible is. But when I used it the next time, they said I had reached my limit and they could not cover for the rest of the repair for my car. I just recently took my car because I have an issue about the door handle but they were not able to cover because it has already reached the coverage for my car. They need to explain all these details when they offer this extended warranty so the customer knows what to expect for what they buy. Also, there was something about the transmission and it took close to a month for them to answer. In the end, they said they would pay half of what they were supposed to charge. For the repairs, the repair was close to $8,000 and they would pay half of that amount. I have to pay the difference out of pocket, from my pocket.

When I called, Omega helped me out. So, that was good. But they didn't help me out with the pricing. They were stuck on it. But did well with answering their phone and my questions. They said okay, then they called up and the Chevy Mills mechanic handled everything else from there. The mechanic told me personally that he had no problem and that the company paid and there wasn't an argument about anything. Omega stepped up to the plate and helped me out.

I've always been skeptical about extended car warranties. There are lots of places out there that scam people. Customers start making the payments, then when it comes time to file a claim for it, those places don't wanna help. Carshield advertises on TV, but they don't pay half the time. Chevy Mills, the dealership, won't even accept them. I look at it like this. If I'm gonna invest in something like that, they should at least have my back on some things and Omega did. I don't have a bunch of money, and I was glad that they came through the way they did. They didn't leave me hanging. I was also glad to pay my deductible. My recent experience with Omega Auto Care was not that great because I ended up spending all this money on a rental and all they gave me was $210. My car stayed in the shop most of the time. There was one thing done the first time, and then it needed a transmission and I couldn't drive the car because it needed a transmission. So, when I spoke to someone from Omega, they said, "Well, we took care of that. And the fact that it was in the shop, it had nothing to do with us." So, at one point, I could rent, but then after a point, it got too expensive because I spent over $2,000. The car went in at the end of January and it didn't come out until late March. So, I had to figure out how I was going to get around.

Omega covers my 2014 Dodge Journey. I have two claims. The second claim was the transmission. The first one was taken care of, and they said, "Oh, come get your car." Then, they said when they test drove it, they realized it needed a transmission. All that was time in-between, I call them and they would say, "Oh, we don't know nothing about what's going on." I felt like I was getting the runaround from somebody. No one would give me a good answer. So, I didn't feel good with the dealership because I felt like I was getting the runaround and I end up spending all this money. After a while, I could not rent anymore. It became expensive.

So, It's a good thing I'm retired and didn't have to go to work because I would have had to really try to figure out am I gonna get to work. I was happy because I am covered for transmission. They took care of that and my deductible was $100. The first one, I didn't like, but I guess it is a part of the contract. The first time, I had to kick off $500 because the dealership was saying how Omega did not want to pay their labor fee and their labor fee was 175 and they only want to pay 145. To me, that wasn't fair that I had to come up with it. Omega said, "We ain't paying that." Then, the dealership is saying, "Well, somebody has to pay it." I got stuck with having to pay for it. I won't recommend them to anybody right now. They could have really done a lot better.

When my car's AC stopped getting cool, I went to have some Freon put in it and it was leaking out. Something had busted on it, and it took a while for the shop to get on the line with Omega. We had to hold the phone for an hour or longer or whatever, but other than that, the rep was nice. However, I had to pay extra for something, and I felt that I shouldn't have had to pay anything besides my co-pay.

I talked to my daughter about Omega because she asked me for the number, and she was gonna call and talk to them. She has CarShield, and I told her I had CarShield, but I went back to what I had once before, which was Omega. I didn't have to use CarShield when I had it, but I understood from some people that I know had CarShield, from them talking about it, they said people are slow about getting their money.

I had the starter repaired on my FJ Cruiser and the dealership filed the claim for me. The only concern that I have is that there's a specific amount that the warranty will pay for a part when the work is submitted. So, I always have to try to make sure that the dealership can provide a part within that cost amount. If not, then I have to pay the difference. Omega could look at what they are providing as the cost limit amount for the part and increase that a little bit more for the customers. Other than that, I've been very pleased.

I have had smooth transactions. The dealership knows that they need to contact the warranty before they begin any work to get an authorization. So, I don't have any issues with that. Other people in the past have complained about that step being skipped, and then them being in a position where they had to take care of whatever the repair work is because they missed the step of getting the authorization first. But that hasn't been a problem for me. Omega is a very reputable company. They stand behind their warranty product and people just need to make sure that they understand the claims process before they decide to buy into the contracts.

I didn't have my car for less than two weeks. Also, Omega's customer service was great. There was good communication with the shop and myself and they gave me all the information I needed -- what was going on, the pricing of everything, and the coverage. If it's related to another part that's not covered, they don't cover the failure. So, I wouldn't recommend those coverages to anybody. I had Omega and I had another one because I didn't realize I was paying for two of them. I had the mechanic call both of them to see which one was gonna cover the breakage. Omega covered more than the other company did, which was the only reason why I'm sticking with Omega for now. Plus, I paid that $1,000 upfront to get it started.

My 2014 GMC Sierra is covered with Omega. There have been problems. They thought I was making payments, but I paid upfront. So, they didn't have me down. So then, when I had a problem, there was a lot of runaround. They had it straightened out, and then they messed it up again. So, it did take some time. They did finally cover the claim, but because I had paid my total two-year premium upfront and they put me down as payments, they canceled my service saying I didn't make payments. I wasn't supposed to make payments. So, there was a little misunderstanding for a little bit there. It did take a couple of months for that to get all straightened out.

For the most part, the representatives were very nice. The two women I dealt with were the ones that got the process through. One gentleman was kind of rude. He kept saying, "You're not covered." I said, "But I am covered. I'm covered. I have the book, I have everything, I paid upfront." I couldn't seem to get it through to him. There were a lot of phone calls. There were lots of waiting on hold. The one person that I could contact wouldn't answer anymore. He gave me his direct number, and then he answered the first time. Then, when I was explaining what was going on, he wouldn't answer his phone again. I left messages and he never replied back.

Other than that, I got a new transmission and it seems to be going well. I'm happy about that. Kudos out to those two ladies. They did a great job. I took the car to the shop, and they went and looked at it, and then they said they weren't going to cover it because I didn't have coverage, and they said my tires were too big. So, I looked up the specs online as to tires for this truck. I called them back and said, "My tires are not too large. They're the exact mid-range tire I should have on there. Look, according to the GMC specs, I am right where I should be for my tires. I don't know what you're talking about."

One of the ladies looked it up and helped me out through that part. She said, "No, your tires are just where they're supposed to be." She got her manager and they said, "Nope, you're fine." So, there was quite a bit of running around. There were a lot of calls but in the end, they did cover it. I had to take the truck back because they said they wouldn't cover it. Then, they told me I had to have it in there by a certain time. So, I brought the truck back and the mechanic was very nice and he did it. He did not want to deal with the warranty coverage because he said they're always a hassle and he was right. This proved to be a hassle, which I don't know why. He did get paid right off. So, I was very happy with that.

It was for a timing belt, which seemed to be specifically listed as covered, but they told me that it's specifically listed as not covered. But they would refund me the money that I had to pay out of pocket anyway because they denied the claim, and they refunded me even though they claimed that it wasn't covered. But I don't understand why they would have paid me.

I'm still using them just to get all the maintenance stuff, but I'm gonna cancel it because I'm sure that if anything else comes up, wouldn't do a courtesy thing again and they would claim everything is not covered. Everyone that I talked to that works at Omega were all nice and kind. Everything was out of their power. But Omega should have in-house adjusters. That would defeat the purpose and there's a reason that they have out-of-house adjusters. But that was where all of the miscommunications occurred.

I first got the Omega when I had my truck and it's been five years now that I've had the warranty.

I took my truck to the dealer as I needed service. I gave them my extended warranty, but it didn't go through the extended warranty because I didn't realize that I still had an extended warranty from the dealer. When my truck was paid, I extended the warranty. When there was an issue with my air conditioner, I went to get service and it was declined. The first time I took the car to the dealer, they ripped me off. I was not going to take my truck there so I asked Omega what dealers they have listed so I can go to them. I went to the one here in Port Saint Lucie. The guy there was so rude and he he said it was declined and it was gonna cost me $3000 to fix my air conditioner.

I asked why it was declined and he said "Because you still had an extended warranty on that particular part of the air conditioner." When I called the dealer and I asked if I had an extended warranty on the compressor, he looked it up and said no. The warranty expired a certain year. That was when I called the auto repair again and told him what the dealer said. But he said that was what my extended warranty said. I called Omega again and I told them the story about how I no longer had the warranty. The rep looked and told me it was still warrantied. I said, "No, it's not. I have proof here that it's not." He told me "I can't do anything. You have to go back to your auto. That's what your auto repair said."

When I went back, I said the auto repair, "Don't do anything until you get this fixed." That's a lot of money and I've been on this insurance for a long time. I showed proof that the part wasn't on the warranty. The repair shop called Omega again and got it fixed. Omega finally accepted the claim. I still paid the guy 800 and Omega extended warranty paid the remaining.

On top of that, the repair shop guy said I was gonna need brakes and pads. He said he could do everything for almost close to $3,000. In the beginning, he was so nice. But when I didn't wanna do the brakes and everything with them, he got mad. I called two other mechanics and they told me, "But that doesn't have to do anything with Omega." That's too much as well. I got my brakes and everything for less than 1,000.

When they fixed my air condition, the guy had to take pictures for Omega to believe them that it was a true statement. When they declined the claim, I was gonna cancel my Omega extended warranty because what's the use of having extended when they're always declining my claim? But I still kept it and my truck's been in good condition. I still have it until '24. But no, definitely, I'll give them a 5. I'll give Omega a 5.

Go for Omega. But you have to be careful with the shops because they'll double the price. Even the dealer will double the price. I have a really good friend at the Cadillac. I said, "When I brought it here, they still charged me over $2,000. I know that I could have fought it, but I was just so busy." I really got mad at the insurance sometimes. Omega didn't wanna talk to me because they go directly to the shop.

I kept having trouble with my car starting, and when I took it to the shop, they determined that one of the issues with the vehicle was the alternator. The car was in there for about two weeks. There were lots of things wrong with the vehicle, so the shop fixed what the warranty covered. That process was quick, but there were other things wrong with my vehicle that the shop had to fix that weren't under the warranty. Omega only covered the alternator for the vehicle, and for what I'm paying, I thought more would be covered, but I haven't had time to really look into it. The additional work that needed to be done, I had to cover, so I gave the shop permission to go ahead and fix the car.

At first, I didn't even know the warranty company's number or their name. I don't have anything in my records. No mail. They sent me an email when I first took the policy out, but that got lost. I had to call the number on my bank statement and they gave me the phone number for Omega. When someone asked me about Omega, I gave them the information. I told them that they would have to call and find out what would work for them, because they have different plans and I didn't know which would work. I said the coverage that I have doesn't cover everything that I thought would be covered, but nevertheless, I didn't have a problem. They were friendly and courteous. They gave me a list of auto repair shops to contact and if I use the ones that they recommend, then they waive the $100 deductible. That was great.

I've been paying $151 a month, and Omega told me I have four more months, then I'll be done paying what I need to pay into the coverage plan that I have with them. It took me 24 months to pay the total cost and I wanted everything to be in the warranty. However, I know what I'm paying and what they cover, so I had recently put a callout to them because something's wrong with the car, now, with my electrical. The person that I spoke with said that that would be covered under the warranty and that he would send me the recommended places that they send, but I never received that email from him. I have to put a call back out to them.

Omega has helped me pay for quite a few things with the car, but it's not all easy. The car kept stopping. It's an INFINITI, so it's a smart car. I was driving down the road, and then the car just said, "Car malfunction." Then I just lost complete power in the middle of the road. I took it to get fixed, and they fixed the alternator but they did it three more times to where I had to take it to the dealership and get all of this stuff done. Initially, Omega covered the alternator, which was cool. I had to pay the deductible. Then, once they messed up again, I took it back to the place, and they just replaced the alternator on some type of warranty because I had maxed out. Then the third time, once they did it, they said that I needed a new computer for the car, and Omega didn't cover that, which was like $3,500. Then, we needed a new transmission and I had to get another alternator after that.

As far as the claim process, I have to find a dealer that will accept Omega, which is really hard for me. Then, when my car is there, Omega says that they'll pay for a rental car, which they never did. I've been in a rental car for quite a while because my car broke down on Christmas Eve. I just got it back on March 23rd. They didn't pay for the rental and the battery. They just kept saying that I have to send my receipts in and send them to all these different places. That's too much. I'm already dealing with all this stuff with a car. I still recommend them to everybody. Every time someone's car is down, I'm like, "You gotta get Omega so they can help you pay for it." The best part about having a warranty with Omega is I don't have to pay as much if my car breakdown. I would have been out of like $12,000 fixing my car but because I have Omega, I only came out at $4,000.

Omega's customer service was very nice in discussing the warranty and what it was about and how it could assist me. As far as claims, I'm thankful that I don't submit the claim. Where I go, they submit the claim and verify the information, and I'm finding out if I'm approved or not. I've never had any problems. I call, and I've been successful in talking to someone to ask me if I am okay. I like Omega. The only difference is the part sometimes are not manufacturing parts. So depending on what type of car you have, if you want the manufacturing parts, you gotta pay the difference. That was what I had to do. I had to get a starter for my car, and the starter that they wanted to give me was not a factory starter.

Every time I call them and I spoke to customer service, the first thing that they made me feel good about is my safety. "Are you okay? Are you in a safe place? Do we need to get someone to you immediately? Where are you located?" That makes a difference in customer service. Why wouldn't I wanna go to friends and family? Why wouldn't I wanna know people about them? Because they had my best interests at heart, and my family, I'm sure they're like, "Wow!" So, I tell my friends and family that if they don't have a warranty, Omega is the best place to go.

The couple of times that I had to use Omega, it was pretty seamless, so it was good. There was a time when my car kept showing passenger steering system warning, so they had to change a lot of things in the seat. Then one time, the rear brake light apparently was malfunctioning, so that was changed too. There are a couple of things that were not covered by the warranty. The last time that I used them, I had to pay about $1,000. But overall, I'm happy with the service.

I had a side mirror repaired and I had to pay a $100 deductible. It wasn't that expensive. But Omega just rejected me for a claim and I'm not feeling too good about it. I had to have the whole back piece of the halo lamp for an inspection. The rep from the dealership said something about a signal light but this isn’t a signal light situation. A halo lamp is totally different from the signal light and she described that to Omega but they still rejected the claim. Omega can improve on their customer service as far as their description of things. I'm driving around with an expired inspection sticker because of a halo light and I don't have $600.

Omega is not helping me at all. I've been involved with Omega since at least 2016 so I've given them a lot of money and I'm not getting the service that I thought I would be getting for my vehicle. I have to do all my business during the day now. But if I get caught at night driving with that light out, I'm gonna have to pay court costs. Then I'm gonna have to pay a fine. It'll be very costly. So, this impedes me from moving around at night.

    Debron,

I'm sorry you are dissatisfied with your coverage, and that you felt our policy wasn't clear. Headlights are a standard exclusion for coverage on vehicle service contracts, regardless of the company.

If you would like, one of our customer service representatives can go over the coverage with you in more detail, or if you prefer to review on your own, "Lenses, sealed beams, headlight assemblies, light bulbs" are all listed at the very beginning of the schedule of covered parts in your policy booklet. I will have someone reach out to you.

I like Omega although some things are not covered like regular maintenance. So far, I had some brakes and rotors done on my 2018 Toyota Sienna. And I'm going be taking it in the shop soon because the blower motor is starting to go out. Sometimes it screams at me when I turn it on. Whenever I have a claim, sometimes Omega doesn't pay for everything but they will cut the bill in half. My service people would tell Omega about the problem and they'd tell them which part they'd be paying for. Then, my mechanic would tell me what Omega said and tell me which part I would have to owe. So overall, the warranty has been very helpful and I would recommend it for all car owners. Omega has been really good and I haven't had any problems in communicating with them. They really try to honor their thing.

The garage was like, "Do not come back here if you are going to bring that insurance back here. We will not do this any longer." They call Omega and they have to sit on the phone for 30 minutes waiting for someone to pick up. At one point, they took 35 minutes to get ahold of someone.

The second problem is the amount of time it takes to get the review done by Omega. The car was gone for five weeks. It took so long to get approvals for anything to be done. Plus, the communication is terrible. The smaller shop I went to was not going to deal with Omega any longer so the next time I had a problem, I went to the dealership. I was like, "The dealership is bigger and they'll probably deal with crap like this better." That was when Omega ended up being a godsend company because they paid to replace the transmission which would have been really expensive.

There was a lot of back and forth to see who was going to pay and it took me over a month to really get my car somewhere where I could begin to get it fixed. When I brought my car to Honda Hills and they called Omega up, they said that my warranty expired. I got really pissed off with that and I had to get in touch with them to ask what was going on. I had to go through all the channels to find somebody to say the correct status. They said they didn't know who said that and why it was said because I pay every month on time.

I have Omega for over two years and never missed a payment. And I don't know why I had to go through so many people. That's not what they go through every month when they take that money out of my checking account. Also, I don't know if I got a used transmission or a new one. Nobody ever came back to let me know but the person who did the repair for me said that most likely, it's a rebuilt. That bothered me because I don't know how much mileage is on this rebuilt.

It was ridiculous trying to get the repair done thru Omega Auto Care, but after all the dust settled, they kicked in and did what they had to do. It's a good company, but they need to sharpen up the edges a little bit and have a little bit more patience, especially when you're dealing with people like me who really don't know stuff about this field. That's why we rely on them. And maybe they need to revamp their company when it comes down to putting personnel on the phones or work with people who really don't have it that well. The patience of some of the reps was short and they didn’t want to answer the questions that I had. But there were some people who picked up where the other ones had fallen and straightened it out.

Throughout the whole program when I had Omega, in the beginning, I had no issues. When I purchased my vehicle, I used to take the car to a dealership and that was only the dealership that works on the car. I took the car four times to the dealer. But the last experience, in the end, I wasn't too happy about it. I had a gentleman that called me back and he was very rude. He went ahead and told me that they no longer do it like that. Now, they have somebody that's overseeing the repair. They only send the car to the repair center that they would suggest to us. We can choose another one, but the hourly rate that the dealership was charging, they were not going to cover that. They could only cover what was average in the area.

I said, “I have a contract with you guys where my car was being serviced, and that was the only place I specifically require, if I'm gonna go with that, this is where I wanted.” He said, “I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do. You can try to reach anyone you want. You can talk to a supervisor.” And he was a supervisor, for my understanding. He was trying to send me to a transmission repair place but my car didn't have any kind of transmission issue. Then on top of it, the dealership said, "This cannot be done. Take your car somewhere else. I don't know what you want to do." I had to go ahead and find myself another place. I was very dissatisfied.

I'm not 100% satisfied with what I got. Since I was with Omega, they should have covered everything that was originally covered and not cut some of the key factors out. When I renewed it, they should have let me renew the radio and the GPS system. Everything in here works. So why can't they guarantee it? Last time, when I had some work done, I was told that I could take it anywhere I wanted to, and I did. I always take my vehicles to the dealer. I don't use aftermarket parts or shops. Everything goes straight to the dealer because I want dealer parts that I know are good quality. But I ended up having to pay about $1,200 for a transmission 'cause Omega wouldn't cover it.

They said I could take it to AAMCO and get a cheaper transmission. I'm not taking it to AAMCO. I'm taking it to the dealer to get a dealer transmission that's factory remanufactured, not remanufactured in some backwoods shop that you don't know if it's gonna work or not. I also got a three-year warranty with it when I got the dealer one, where AAMCO only gives you a year. I'm contemplating right now, because of that, to call back and drop the warranty.

    Martin,

Thank you for your feedback and your honesty. Coverages are based on the age of the vehicle, as well as the miles on it at the time. As with any insurance product, risk assessment goes into the calculation of the coverage. Let's say that the same coverage was available to renew, it would be so expensive that you probably wouldn't want it, since your vehicle is older and therefore a bigger liability. I hope that makes sense, and that you continue as an Omega Auto Care customer.

We appreciate your loyalty over the years!

I have never been so upset in my entire life. I called Omega Auto Care because I knew I had towing, but whoever answered the phone told me I did not exist in the system. I was stuck. I was 60 miles from home, in the cold, and in the rain, and I'm 70 years old. I had to pay $414 to get a tow truck to come from Houma to New Orleans to tow my car back. When I tried to get my reimbursement of a measly $100, I got the runaround from them. It took me four days to finally speak to someone in person that had any idea what I was talking about.

The reps sent me from one place to the other, and I filled out three different forms. The last thing I saw was a text the Saturday before last saying that I was gonna be reimbursed with a $100 check, which I should see within the next 10 to 14 days. I'm still waiting to see that though. Still, my towing claim was the only time I've ever had problems. We've had three other things, and I love that the engine and motor service is absolutely wonderful.

When the original warranty from Chrysler and Dodge and Jeep went out on my vehicle, Omega contacted me and I talked with them. They told me what they covered and I liked the deal. They told me the price, what my payments would be, and what my down payments would be. Everything was manageable for me so I signed up. So far, I've renewed twice. I have the same protection but it's on a different policy because my old one expired at 101,000. Omega said I had 30 days and that I had to drive so many miles before I was covered as far as what they will pay.

My car was taken in for repair and I was told the shop wanted to flush out all my system. The gasket in my exhaust by the manifold was loose. Omega was gonna do the exhaust but they couldn't cover it because that was under the basic maintenance of the vehicle. But I always kept that truck in running condition with the oil changes and stuff like that. We figured that out and it was a minor problem.

What happened was my vehicle was trying to start over and it wouldn't catch. It was a relay switch that Chrysler came out with and it was discontinued. What they did was they came out with a new switch that they put in the box. They probably sent me something saying that it was a recalled product. The guy that actually did the switch found out it was a relay switch with a wire to it. He opened up my hood and showed that to me. I went on and had it done. It cost me $300 but it's okay.

I had a claim way back in 2018 and Omega covered it. I took the car to a Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM in Naperville. I paid my $100 deductible and the issue was fixed. They gave me the receipt and it was $1,100 worth of work to do on that truck. Omega always told me that any ASE-certified shop can work on the vehicle and they will cover it. But I rather for the dealership to deal with it.

I've been dealing with Omega and since they're good, I would recommend them. But as far as looking forward to and seeing what a warranty covers, make sure it covers everything as far as what you need to cover. I even have that now with the new warranty. It has that basic maintenance coverage on it such as oil changes and tire rotation. I'm satisfied with Omega. I had different companies calling me trying to get me to switch over and I told them, "No, I have a warranty, an extended warranty on my vehicle and I'm very happy with who I have." I've been locked in with them for years.

The only thing we got done was just the oil and when I turned in the bill, Omega said I got to wait to get reimbursed until I send it over. So I faxed it to them and they said they received it. They said that once they review it, six weeks later, that's when I'll get the reimbursement. But I got $50 back instead of the $600. So, it’s a big discrepancy.

Omega was supposed to give you a card saying that you're a member. I called them several times and told them I need something to say this or that so I have proof of what I had. They never sent the card to me. It took about five phone calls. They told me that I had to wait until a certain mileage and after a certain time and that's when I would get covered. They didn’t explain all that to me when I first got it. I'm not satisfied at all because I'm paying quite a bit just to have that insurance.

Omega should provide the companies that you might want to target to try to get service done when you need it. It would be nice to know what companies are ideal to work with that's close to where I live. I did an oil change claim and I got refunded for that. But if you have an emergency and you take your vehicle to a dealership because that’s the logical thing you would do, you would get a rude awakening. Then called back because he didn't get the approval for it. So, they had to hold my truck for a whole other day. The mechanic was the underwriter, but he was kind enough to go ahead and call them again the next morning to get everything verified. He spent over five hours to get my thing approved and they would not let me take my truck. I thanked him a hundred times for his due diligence to take care of me.

They explained it to me in a term that I can understand it. They're always willing to lend a hand and say, “Well, hey, if you have any other questions, you still don’t understand, call back.” So I've had nothing but good experiences from them. I had an oil change done. I had to send a copy of the receipt, and then they sent me a check.

If anything, you get your money back and you could always cancel.” So that kind of gave me a little bit of security to go with them. Everybody was good. The agent that was assigned to the claim communicated with me and kept me up to date. Even though other things were out of his hands, he kept trying to get everything done as quickly as possible. Omega helped me with replacing the transmission on my truck. It took a little bit longer, but at least it got done. Omega is a great company. You can rely on them if anything comes up with your cars. It’s a company that you could trust and that will help you and cover what they said they are going to be covering.

They could be a little quicker on sending their reimbursement checks. Also, the struts had to be done but they didn't cover struts. So I ended up paying for it. But they’ve done a lot of work on my car and they paid for the repairs. They've covered just about everything I’ve taken it in for. There have been a couple of things they haven't. But compared to what they have fixed, I'm very thankful. I would recommend them. I’m on my second warranty through them.

The other thing is that I had to have a new starter put in. I thought it would have paid for more. But they only covered so much of the starter and the labor. If something goes wrong, they say, “Oh, we don't fix it.” What the hell am I paying for then? My wheel was shaking and I took it to Subaru, and Subaru called in the claim. Omega said that they don't fix it. They paid $168 on a $900 bill. But I still had to pay a $100 deductible. So technically, they only paid $67.

The other time, I took my vehicle to the shop for a catalytic converter but Omega doesn't fix that either. I've paid them almost $600 and they haven't fixed anything. Hi Marissa,

I think there must have been a misunderstanding somewhere along the way. You have had 2 claims, and the first one was approved within 3 days of being called in, and the other one was called in, and completed within 24 hours. If you were without your vehicle for 2 months, we most certainly had no idea.

Is it possible that the repair facility was busy, and didn't call it in for a while? Not sure what happened here unfortunately, but the claims were processed expeditiously.

There were a couple of times when I went and got my oil changed over the weekend, and I had to submit to get my money back. Those also went well. I love the service. I like the comfort of knowing that I won't come out of pocket a big chunk of change if I have something major happen. And I have the roadside assistance. The repair shop had spent a lot of time on the phone and they weren't happy about that. It took about two days to get the authorization. There was also an issue with the parts, whether they were authentic or used. The axle into the control rod had a bust in it. It was clearly something that was a warranty issue. Omega paid for the labor, but not the parts. The repair shop wouldn't do the repair with the parts Omega had offered to pay for. We ended up having to pay for that out of pocket for $1,000, which I don't think was fair. The car was taken apart at the shop, so couldn't go somewhere else. We felt held up about that. Other than that, everything else has been positive. I saw the price to be very competitive, having shopped around to other companies.

They could close that window a little bit more. Also, if you go online, they list the auto body shops that accept the coverage. In my area, that list is pointless. You have to go to a dealership. None of these outside shops wanna deal with extended warranties. Nonetheless, we just signed up my husband's truck with Omega.

The guy that I took it to, I've known for 40 years, and he's worked there all the time. He called and called to get the oil change taken care of. I picked the truck up and Omega didn't pay him for another week and a half. So, the next time I took the truck down to get the oil changed again, he refused to deal with Omega.

He said, "When your truck has a problem with it, I'll deal with it at a later date with them. Right now, to get a free oil change from Omega, I don't even want to deal with it. If you want me to change the oil, you pay me and you deal with them." I went ahead and paid him 75 bucks for the oil change, Omega pays back 55 bucks. I photocopied it. I emailed it to Omega. I faxed it to them but I didn't get anywhere for two weeks. I didn't even get an answer from their people.

I made three calls. I got ahold of someone that said that they were one of the managers there and she would take care of it. But I never heard anything from anyone. I was told by that person I would get an answer that afternoon and she would call me back. I never heard anything from her. I waited two more days, I picked up the phone, and I called. I was just about ready to cancel it and I got ahold of one of the people. I explained it to this dude and he said, "I know that person. I will send this email again to her." I got a call back the next day and they said they would send me the $55 check in the next six to eight weeks. But I didn't get a $55 check in the mail. I'm not overly happy with my service.

The payments take long. I was with them for a year and seven months later, after I've been doing my oil changes all by myself, I found out there's a maintenance for a year. So I didn’t get any of that money that paid for my truck as far as the oil changes. I told them I've done all this and they said, "No you gotta do it within a certain time limit." I said, “Nobody told me that when I got service. Y’all just took my money out of my account right away, 300 bucks. If I only knew that was there, I would’ve gotten more money."

So what I did is this whole year, I did one oil change that I got back. And then I had to do the brake thing right before my service ended. I just wanted my payments to stop. I almost went to a different company that was going to charge me $75 a month for the same coverage from where I left off and just quit Omega, and I didn’t. So I finished off my time. But I sent them the receipt for the maintenance thing and I never got that money back.

Six months later, I called and said, “Hey, my truck might need some brakes and an oil change. Do I give the garage my contract number?" They're like, “You have a maintenance fee. All you do is send us the receipt and we give your money back for it.” And I was like, “Then why didn’t y’all tell me that?” It was like, “They might not have told you.”

So I called the number I had on file and it was not even a working number anymore. I had to call a different number. I waited online forever to talk to the person. I thought I was being scammed and I had to make sure it was going to the people. So I shut down payments. Then they called saying, “We see that you got maintenance. Your payment did not go through for this month and this will void your warranty.” I told her, “This is my problem. I didn't get any money back for anything I’ve done.” They said, “You sent it to the wrong number.” I’m like, “That number is no longer working. That's the number I sent all the things in.” They said, “You'll only get reimbursed for the last month.” That sucks. That’s six months’ worth of stuff I paid for my truck. So I'm glad my payments are over and I'm just waiting for my warranty.

    Tracy,

I am very sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience, but we truly welcome all feedback. You have had 3 claims in total, and the only reason that so little was paid was BECAUSE it was such a small claim. Since you have a $100 deductible, it takes away from the authorized amount. The age of your vehicle doesn't affect your coverage in the sense that it doesn't change over time. You have the same high level of coverage that you had when you originally purchased it.

Although I do not hope that anything goes wrong with your vehicle, and you have a large claim, you can rest assured that $20 would not be all that we paid.

I will reach out to you personally as well, just in case you have additional questions.

My first claim was nearly fully covered. I've had a couple of other things that had to be done that wasn't covered but it weren't so bad. There were a bunch of snags because the dealership wanted to do a full motor replacement. Omega said that might not be necessary and they had a third-party inspector come. My vehicle didn't need a full motor but it needed other parts so it was like a teardown rebuild. Some parts weren't covered like the exhaust part. So, I had to pay a little bit more. Other than that, the claims process is fairly simple and they communicate well. I also had a claim for the water pump of my wife's car that had gone out and they covered almost all of it.

I grilled the reps really well and they seemed to answer all my questions. I used to work for an extended warranty company 20 years ago and they told me a lot of things have changed. The laws have changed so it's different now. I used to feel bad that people got duped into this because they had these extended warranties but everything they were calling for weren't covered. I liked Omega's bumper-to-bumper coverage. Everything that I was looking for was in there, and they covered it. It was straightforward. My last claim went pretty well too. If I had the money, I would get it again. On top of that, my car's mileage is almost to the end.

I just utilized the warranty for a brake change, stop brakes and rotors. The shop called the company and they handled it between themselves. Omega Auto Care covered the rotors. The process was pretty seamless and I didn't have any problems with it. I didn't like the fact that they had services that expired over time and have since expired, yet, I pay the same amount. That seemed a little shady, but apparently, they were giving those services free for a period of time on top of the warranty. They're much needed routine maintenance things though.

You are absolutely correct about the maintenance benefits being free. Since it was a new type of program for our industry, we decided to give them to all of our customers for the first year to try them out.

The Omega rep explained that the mileage for the plan was better than what I was getting through the dealership. It would have longer-term coverage, too. Instead of six years, it's seven. One time, I was driving to work and the check engine light came on. It said, “Stop as soon as possible.” That was a mile from work so I went ahead and went to work, got my phone out and called Omega.

They had a person come out and put my car in a flatbed instead of regular tow truck, which was nice and had it towed to the dealership. I had to complain to get the service done, though. I was told originally that the dealership was fine, but then I was told that the dealership was charging higher than the prevailing rate in Farmington, New Mexico. There aren't that many places in Farmington or the Four Corners to go, and the dealership was a better choice, especially because the car has to be reset with new parts put on because of the NSF features. I had them tow it to the dealership and they started to balk at it but they paid for it.

I also had to pay for two extra days because they didn't order the part on Friday morning like they said they did. They waited till Monday and ordered it after I called to complain. I was a little bit upset with that. But otherwise, I've been satisfied. Hopefully, I don't have to use it and hopefully, things will go fine from now forward.

He said that he would send me a brochure and literature concerning the company and what it would cost me per month. I went to my dealer when the left side indicator of my car would not work. They looked it over and identified that I needed some parts to make that left side work. I told him to do it and then he got the parts. When I brought the car in to get work done, I also gave the dealer the number of Omega who was supposed to cover my expense. The dealer called Omega and told them to go ahead and make the repairs. The repairs were made and Omega paid for the job.

Omega Auto Care had the most coverage for the least amount of money. The rep was very polite. Also, he explained it very thoroughly to where I didn't need to ask any questions. He was good with the job. I'm paying 150 a month, and I was told that the 150 for the bumper-to-bumper, and after six months, it becomes 65, which I've never heard before. I've never owned a newer vehicle. So, I've never had bumper-to-bumper coverage. That was a big selling point for me and I hardly noticed it coming out of my account.

This was the first new truck that I ever had. Omega would help me get a rental car and pay for the repair. Omega is one of the best when it comes to coverage because life happens and no one can expect their car or truck to break down and they need a reliable company to cover their vehicles. And when it does, they need someone they can rely on.

    Terrina,

Thank you for your detailed review. I would like to begin by apologizing for the long claim. Although I see the issue that took place with your claim, there is no reason it should have taken that long, for something that was a relatively small repair.

There was a part on your vehicle that was in fact still under manufacturer warranty, and said part was attached to what failed. We were attempting to determine what part had actually failed, as that would have determined who would be responsible for it.

Again, I sincerely apologize for the delay. We appreciate your business, and thank you for being part of the Omega Auto Care family.

I complained but nothing happened. I let that go but that irritated me. But Omega taking care of the actual car was good. They handled it quite well. I had Omega for four years from April 8, 2018 to April 2022. Then in January, I signed back up with them because they gave me the one year of the maintenance, which satisfied me. So I'm very happy with my Omega. I'm satisfied with it. I'm satisfied with the representative that called me and we got it going again. So I'm paying that 129.46 and that's perfect.

I went into Cortes where I get my Volks gets done. This is my month for me to have my inspection and an oil change. The last that I had done with Omega was the oil change back in September. I used them again when my automatic door lock started going out and it had this weird sound. So that ran through and it was fine. The lock was working perfect.

They told me since I’ve been paying my coverage and the deposit kicked in, I could go ahead and start using it. The lady told me, “Don’t drive it. Try to get a ride to work." She also asked me to call a towing company to get it towed to a car place of my choice. They have a couple of places with zero deductible. Everything was pretty smooth on Omega’s behalf. They sent a new starter to the car place I went to, and the mechanic put in.

Omega covered it so quick, and that was pretty cool. I would've had to come out of my pocket, and they saved me $300. That was just for the part and not including the other part that they fixed too. They said I could get a rental car service, but I didn’t try to go with that. They also told me that I got a free car care with Pep Boys. I’ve been telling a couple people about Omega. You never know when your car is gonna go down, and it’s a good coverage.

My experience with Omega is 50-50. The person who I originally took my water pump to did not do the work. Omega paid him and I informed them that the work was not done, and they told me to keep reaching out to the person. I finally reached out to the person and he got in contact with me. But my car has been at the shop waiting for them to look at it for about three weeks now.

Originally, I was taking it in for a thermostat. Then, the mechanic called me and said there was something going on with the water. He believed it was the thermostat and the water pump. So, I paid for the thermostat and Omega covered the water pump. But now, my car completely shut off on me on the road. I just got off the highway when it happened. Omega towed it to the dealership but they are not able to look at my vehicle. They’re backed up and has no opening until late April. I didn't take the car originally to them because they did not have anything.

Omega seems to be convenient and I will recommend them to a friend. The only issue I have is that they help cover stuff but they need to make the rental upfront on how long they’re gonna cover it. With logistics being so bad everywhere, they should go ahead and put that in. I was in doing the water pump alone before it stopped running on me and I had a rental for almost three weeks due to the shipping situation. The part was on backorder and Omega only covered the rental for the three days that the mechanic worked on it.

    Alex,

All contracts have terms, and the most basic part of ours, is the schedule of covered parts. If something is not listed, it is not part of your coverage, and cannot be covered. I listened to your sales call, and at no point were you told that that "EVERYTHING" would be covered.

I understand that it's frustrating to have to pay an unexpected bill, but there was nothing that could have been done in this case.

I have to admit that it surprises me that you consider it a "loophole", since this is your second policy with the exact same level of coverage.

I had to drive from Florida to South Carolina to sit in the place and wait for them to redo the entire claim. Then it took another three months to get my claim money back because they lost the information over and over and over. They finally decided to give me my money back because they couldn't find any of the documentation. I did do another claim for an oil change and tire rotations, and that went through fine.
