Seriously why are they still in business? Allentown PA location... I mean they look like they're on crack. They try to act like CNAC is so professional. "Oh I need to negotiate with the bank over the phone." The bank was in the next room lol. Then I caught the sleazy salesman writing a fake review on the computer and named himself Kelly **. Then they wanted 500 and an extra 2000 paid off in 6 weeks for a 2002 Saturn L200 with 110k miles KBB $1702 biweekly payments of 183 for 38 months?? Total cost of car?? 16,000. Unfortunately I needed something fast with low down payment. Thank God I returned that POS. I'll take a repo not to pay them another penny. They are TRASH. STAY AWAY!

I heard about this company through a friend who said they helped those who needed help getting back on their feet establishing credit with a vehicle. I filled out the app online and heard back from a very friendly salesman the next morning. He seemed very optimistic. He made it sound like I could walk out with a car the same day. I drove 63 miles to get there. The same salesman I talked to on the phone was there and very nice. Then we waited for the finance lady to come get us. We waited forever.
When she finally came she was less than pleasant. She was bossy and rude. She went over a budget with me and understated my income and overstated my expenses. I know my budget better than anyone else so I would not have even walked in the door without being able to afford it. Once I explained my circumstances she was very unprofessional and said she would see if they could submit the credit app to their finance people. We waited forever for someone to come get us and let us know what we already knew; that we would not be getting a car because they felt I couldn't afford a car.
Here's the thing. I already spent $500 a month on gas in the SUV I was driving. They wanted to give me a used car no newer than 2009 for $380/mth. That with the cheaper gas for a car sounds like it's the same I was already putting into a car per month. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. So what it comes down to is we spent 4 1/2 hours in this place basically being treated like crap in a place that is advertising that they help people and we NEVER even looked at a car... An hour later we went to a real dealership and left with a 2014 Chevy Cruze... Ultimately I guess they did help us by saying no.

First off car was overpriced and yet within 6 months, head gasket needed fixing. Car still didn't run right. Then took back and they solved problem but still didn't explain to me what was really wrong. However it ran great for months. Well I moved to SD for 3 months so car sit. Made my payment in time always. I come back on bus to get some of my things to stay in SD for a little while so took car to them to check out for a trip out of town. Paid 20 dollars deductible. They should have detected something that came up.
While driving back under halfway engine light came on and red light start flashing on instrument panel and start overheating. I called them and call customer service to see if they could get the car to another J.D. Byrider but the nearest J.D. Byrider was in Albuquerque. I was in Arizona so why can't they honor their warranty for 36000 for 3 years. I'm pissed off sitting in car, light flashing and engine light on. Will call them tomorrow. It's too late. Stay tuned for part 2. They are not what they say they are. I'm disappointed in their service.
UPDATED ON 03/16/2015: I got a car in 2013. 3 months after paying need the block to be worked on, car was making lots of noise was the problem. Now after that car ran for about 3 months then same thing happen. I went in and the service mgr said it's the new rods have to be wore and so I left went somewhere else. They say it's not right. So had to go to SD on emergency for mom's and car started doing same thing, stalling and engine noise so I made it and now the same thing happen and I am told I need a new engine. So I'm waiting for J.D. Byrider to ok that work. An engine is about 1032.00 and the computer is gone. I am trying to get help to show this car is a lemon. Please help me, I'm not making car payment till I get results. Help help!!!

I have had the car since October 31 of 2013 and since I've had it the entire front end has been rebuilt, the hub bearings have been replaced 3 times in two months time because of mechanic lack know how. Then just recently I have had the engine replaced the end of September and the car ran fine for exactly three week before the engine light came back on, them began to run horribly again, causing me to return it back to the dealer for another engine inspection. And on top of the tow I had to pay for to get home when the car failed me a mile away from home, the DeskJet charged me another 50$ to have it towed to them, but they wanna haste me about past due car notes, not only to realize that when I haven't paid a note is when the car has been on the fritz. Leaving me to find other means of transportation or not get to work, resulting in a short ** paycheck. They are the worst mistake ever in a car purchase decision EVER.

It's funny that after six years, I finally am making this complaint. What prompted me to express my opinion of a company with such a reputation and low ratings was noticing the Carfax lie they sell you. I happen to check my vehicles history and noticed 33 reports. I like most on this website was in a situation where I had no money for a down payment and needed a vehicle asap.
After going through the lengthy process over 6 hours from start to finish, I can say I was fortunate to leave with a vehicle that I love to this day, 02 Chrysler 300 m. At the same time my mom and brother purchased a Saturn Ion and Pontiac Grand Am. The Grand Am after a month had brakes grinding badly which are more than a sign of normal wear and tear. My brother's Saturn shortly after purchase had major transmission problems. After weeks of being serviced, had the same issue which he gave it back due to lemon law in MA. My mom being unsatisfied with issues and numerous threats of repo and responding with just telling them to come pick up the POS eventually dropped it off at the front door and met with salesman who wants to "work something out".
I noticed bringing your car to their mechanics was vehicular homicide. First of all I know for a fact that they were using second hand junk parts on the vehicles. My girlfriend's vehicle was totaled so she gave to the local junk yard and upon picking up the vehicle, the gentleman noticed my ID by rider sticker on the trunk and told her how they buy secondhand parts from them and not a good place to do business with. Some fault would be on the customer not paying attention when reading the contract for those who believe a warranty covers everything when really it's just engine and tranny.
I was lucky enough to have decent vehicle and began just going to my mechanic after they put some b.s. rotors on my vehicle that were grinding shortly after. They say hindsight is 20/20. Well this company is the epitome of that saying. Just myself realizing how much their vehicles are inflated way above blue book value on top of the criminal interest rates and shady business practices, I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to go there. On positive note I did have a great loan officer who was honest and I'm sure is no longer there due to the underlying animosity they showed when he would do something as reasonable as post dating a payment for a few days until I was paid even though they tacked on the additional daily interest and got their money.
I've never heard of instances of a company that charges you almost 18 grand for an American vehicle with 90+k miles and 100k warranty and then wait until you have 2500 left on your payment and decide to stress a zero tolerance repo policy and take your vehicle which I'm sure is given a car wash and vacuum job then put back on the lot and sold to the next hardworking person with unfortunate circumstances and even worse credit. Talk about slimy individuals who prey on the less fortunate which pretty much answers my question of how such a company can remain in business with a BBB rating at that. Something is wrong with this picture. As long as there is a profit, all the snakes will get on board and nobody to regulate it. I will close this review with the numerous letters in the trash and unanswered voice mails with an offer to trade in my vehicle for another 5-year slave contract.

We went to pick up our car from the service department when a child fell down in the lot... all the employees scattered like roaches. The child was hurt and the ugly chick with black hair who is whatever race she is told the parents she had called the ambulance. She came back and told the father that they would have to call the ambulance themselves because they didn't want to admit liability. These people are all uneducated people with no prospect of any meaningful job whatsoever. The owners and upper management laugh and joke about how they make people with bad credit pay for the car 3 times over once the loan is up.... a customer will pay an payment and the very next time they pay the payment 2 weeks later the balance never even goes down. I know...I use to work for them. If anyone ever needs a witness for a class action suit, **.

Just got this 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix the end of March 2014. First you spend hrs on paperwork and being taped. Which I don't understand. Staff rude rude. So got all the paper work got the call. Had it for 2 days get up and the rear of the car's paint is blistered up size of 50 cent pcs. Took it back to them. They said wasn't like that when I left. I said, "I know. That's why I'm here because you said this car had a clean title." Started showing them the problems. "Oh, we don't cover that." Nice so now I have a major problem. It's been in the shop over 10 times now. Just driving along and the car just dies and won't start back up. They tell me they replaced everything they could think of.
I get it back it drives good for a week or so and back to the same thing. Died on me yesterday and the manager said, "What can I do?" I told him, I want my deposit back and you can have your lemon back." He said, "I will have to talk to the other manager Monday." But he said I could get another car from them. Lmfao lol. Hell no is what I told him. So we will see what happens tomorrow. Do not and I repeat myself do not go there. They treat you like **!!!!!

Went to Beechmont, Ohio location in 2013 to think of purchasing a car. We were in a bad spot with credit and desperate for a car. Also we were told no other car dealer would ever give us a loan and would never work with us. We sat there for 6 hours on my poor husband's birthday with the dealer taking care of other customers before us. We were told that they are going to give us a great deal and that they had to fight to do so because our credit was so bad (It was 565 and 590!). It's not great but not the worst ever. They didn't let us even look at a car. They told us this is it, a 05 Taurus.
Other customers were all brought to the lot to look but no, not us! When we finally got thru the horrendous ordeal of signing paperwork and making us feel like criminals we were just so happy to leave. We got in the car and left. Not 10 mins later we were cut off. Tried to honk the horn and it didn't work! We called and they had closed for the night. We called the next day and they blamed us saying it worked before we left! I know they didn't test a thing on it before we left - I watched them. Also there were personal belongings in the car such as glasses and scissors left. They told us they did an inspection but the inspection form was blank and unsigned!
A few weeks later the O2 sensor went out and that took a week to fix. Then 2 weeks after that it was the transmission - took 2 weeks to fix. Then a month later the brakes went out so they obviously were not changed like they said. And the brake metal parts were bent! Then a few weeks after that the transmission went out again! We were so done. I called and said, "I am bringing this lemon back to your lot. You have had it in your possession more than us and I either want a new car or I am bringing it back." They wouldn't agree to that so I dropped it off to their lot. I never missed a payment and I informed them of the issues and they didn't care at all. They put a repo on my credit even though I gave it back before missing any payments. CNAC and JD Byrider work with only each other and it's a big scam to prey on the poor and young. I was able to get a better car with my supposed bad credit that is brand new and I am paying $16000 with a car that has less than 10k miles instead of $190000 for a car with over 100k miles and didn't run! NEVER GO HERE PLEASE!

Overall, after having purchased a truck in Cinci, Ohio and having the transmission fixed in Madison, TN or so they said, it landed all over I24 outside of Murfreesboro, TN. It was towed back to Madison, TN and I was refunded and credited everything that was paid on the Dodge Dakota and put on another Dodge Dakota extended cab, contract extended for 6 months longer and it had 10,000 miles less. I can't say I'm completely satisfied with the way JD Byrider & CNAC threatened me with coming to get the truck but they too couldn't find the address?? They do prey on the good folks that work hard for their $$$$$!!!! That's a given!! They do create fees & interest fees to cover their time on the phone and they do mess with things on the engine so you will have to bring it back!!
My power steering pump went out in Atlanta, GA and they put a 2 piece pump on a 1 piece pump under my hood??? Duh!!! They finally fixed it right after I threatened the Better Business Bureau!!! There are ways that you can report them!!! They do not want bad reps!! Just thank you Jesus that it's been paid off 2 1/2 years ago!!!! It won't happen again believe that!!! You want my order # look it up!!! Also, why is there a processing fee??? I'm looking at the buyer's order... When you start paying more than your payments are each month they will charge you that extra each & every month thereafter!!

Being a new father and a hard working man I found out that J.D Byrider was not a good trustworthy company. They tell you one thing but they mean another. I spoke to a salesman by the name of **. Who acknowledged that he knew two guys by the name of ** and whatever his so called brother name is. He said they were outside reps for the company. Anyway he called me and my wife begging us to come down there as well as for the brothers all at one time so I know he was aware of their actions but he continued to lead me in a path of destruction. I told him what they were doing and how they were false representing the company for referral fees. Obviously he's in on the cut cause he proceeded leading me and my wife down a destructive path once we arrived there at 1525 Gallatin Pike North in Nashville, TN. I actually caught the bus with my young daughter and wife to follow up the promise ** made to my wife to get us back on the road after my recent car broke down days earlier.
This guy wasted valuable time that I did not have. After he noticed we weren't going to get the vehicle his whole attitude changed. The guy handed me a piece of paper denying my wife and I after he sent us out the door with a kid and no car and seconds before it stormed on us at a deserted bus stop. I felt like I let my family down standing there waiting for a 2 hr bus ride home. I will never go back ever and just like everyone else that bypasses Byrider I have a story too for why I didn't get my new car from there and wouldn't recommend them to anyone else because JD BYRIDER JUST DON'T CARE!!!

Over a year ago, I ended up buying a 2003 Nissan Sentra from them, because I couldn't get financing through a bank. So I was told they could help me. I was pretty much forced to buy the car, because I desperately needed one and that was all they had. Fine, didn't plan on it being my forever car anyway. From day 1, I had issues. The battery, the starter, a slow leaking tire. But if I took it to them to fix, it could take 2 weeks, so I just spent the money to get it fixed elsewhere. That was annoying in itself. What really pissed me off was that every other month or so I would get a letter or phone call telling me I wasn't making my payments and they were going to repo my car.
I had them automatically taking payments out every 2 was, and when I would call to fix it, my "case manager" would get rude and argue with me about my payments. A couple months ago, they took double payments out and took over a week to fix that. How do you mess up with automatic payments? Especially a recurring issue. Then I was in an accident over a month ago, and I ended up paying over $400 to get my car out of towing because they gave me the runaround and didn't get back to me on what I needed to do for over a week. Then took over a month to finally declare my car totaled. I pay my deductible to end my contract, and just found out that they took money out of my account for a payment a week after I was told they wouldn't be any more. Now I have to fight with them again to get that money back.

I was in need of a reliable car for both my job and children. I went to JD Byrider where I was promised all these great things and how the cars were put through several inspection before being sold. I bought the car In June. The car has now been in the shop seven times and each time they Band-aid the situation and send me on my way. I have had the car overheat in city traffic and I have had the car just die on the highway. The power windows don't work which is alarming because the air conditioner also doesn't work. The service manager Adam is disrespectful and rude. He promises no more problems then sits at his desk while you wait for hours. No one attempts to fix the issues. The typical response is "We didn't find any issues when we started it." The car has to be towed in and they find no issues. They have no service. They don't honor a warranty and the car is literally a death trap. They prey on the poor and those in extreme need. They are here for their bottom line and nothing more or less.

This all began in September of 2012. I went to the lot and they were great. Very helpful and got me in a car. Then a month later I had nothing but problems out of the car. I'd call the service department and they said that it would be two weeks. This went on for the course of 6 months. Every time it went in for the same problem, it came back out with the same problem. Then I talked to the manager and she said that I couldn't be put in another vehicle that's why I have a warranty. Fast forward to June of 2014 I was involved in a multiple vehicle accident and she said that they can't help me with a new vehicle. I called for months and all they say is that they want their payment.
I still owe $8,000 on a car that is worth $2500 on a good day. They don't want to help with customers. I thought that they were supposed to have a high satisfaction rating. I think that's a load of bull. They really don't care about the customer. Now I'm stuck with no car and an 8,000 dollar loan that cnac put on my credit as a repo. But guess what, the car is still at the tow place where they towed it to when it was wrecked. So how is that a repo? Plus I didn't get a right to cure or anything. If anyone has any idea of how to get out of this, please help. Also back to the car it was good after I got the motor problems fixed by a mechanic that knew what they were doing. Jd byrider needs a lesson in trying to help their customers. They are awful after you sign on the dotted line.

First of all, it took from 3 pm to 12 am to purchase a car. They said it was $200 down, but you have to make $200 deferred bi weekly payments to total $1000 down in order to purchase the car. It was a waste of an hour for them to work out a budget, when that paper work could have been handled after you find a salesperson and look at the video. Also when you get to the closing, that paperwork is ridiculous. CNAC and JD Byrider should be ashamed of themselves. The salesman/woman were courteous but slow. It is also ridiculous to have 12 references that they called as if I wanted everyone to know that I was buying a car. The prices are sky high and the title down is minimal. This is not a good franchise to deal. I'm sorry I did not.

I wouldn't usually put my business out there for the world.. as I'm prideful and private. But I would just like to put this out there for anyone ever in a tough spot, looking to buy a car.
A few years back I was desperate. My credit was shot and my car beyond repair. I tried everything to get a car. And was not able to. I couldn't afford to lose my job, so I went to JD Byrider. I had heard horrible things about them, not to mention the insane almost criminal interest rates. But I was desperate and had no other options. I bought a 2007 taurus with 80,000 miles on it for a ridiculous amount of money..like 13k at an interest rate out of this universe. Almost comparable to those payday loans.
Anyhow out of many years of on time payments, I was late 2 times (all within a couple days).. but that did not stop them from trying to threaten repo, or calling the family or friends I had listed as references at the time of purchase (which they made me do.) For what I pay a month on a 2007 taurus with now 150k miles, I could probably pay as much a month for a Mercedes. Anyway last Christmas I asked for a deferment so I could have Dec off to help with holiday expenses. They were more than happy to help..lol not. It was like pulling teeth and they had me a grown man in tears of frustration at how they talked to me. I told them to come take the car. And only later that day after they no doubt couldn't find the car, since I never updated my new address.. They called me and said I could have the deferment. Now usually that payment would go to the end of your loan, but not them.. they charged me interest every month since then.. and extra maintenance fees. And now all of a sudden they want a double payment this month.. by the 29th lol just like that. Out of nowhere they just say I have to pay double this month.. so on top of my $342 monthly or $171 bi weekly, which I already paid.. They want another $342 by the 29th or of course they are going to repo.. as they love to say.
Anyway.. In my case I owe just under 3 grand left..but with the interest it would probably be another 2 years of these high payments..and who knows what fees. Today I almost broke down because I personally didn't know how much longer I could not only afford to keep that up with it and keep them from pulling their shenanigans... I was almost for a brief moment ready to let them take it...because you feel like your dealing with a loan shark with them. Paying every 2 weeks.. and always paying more and more. Also anytime I took the car in, within days something worse would happen to the car. This is because they want you to give up and be financially burdened so that you surrender the car. I stopped bringing the car to them.. and I haven't had any problems since.
Now thankfully, I am paying them off early in full within 2 months time because I've been saving..so I will be done and able to wash my hands of this place. Which will be one of the biggest weights off my shoulders in over 3 years. But I cannot stress.. NO MATTER WHAT.. I suggest never ever using this place. Besides paying 5 times what the car is worth, even if you get a reliable car with no problems.. they are not in the business for people who pay on time and are responsible. They want you to mess up.. They will hit you with extra fees and interest and flat out sabotage your car. All of that hoping you miss a payment. Because just by missing one payment.. just one.. they have the right per your contract to repo the car.. still sue you for the remaining balance and resell the car.
So they want you to fail. It's been hard to stay one step ahead..and if you do a little research, you'll see many don't succeed. So please just remember this warning if you or anyone you know ever thinks of going there.

This scam, I mean company specifically targets bad credit, no credit, low credit customers because they know those types of customers are desperate and can't go anywhere else to buy a car. If you are reading this, PLEASE save yourself the trouble and DO NOT buy a car from here. They advertise 95% Customer Satisfaction which is clearly a lie, as is evident by the ONE star average rating on this site alone.
I walked into the NEW Branford, CT location at 11:30 am, and didn't leave until 6:30 pm with a car. They have NO grace periods on payments. They lied and told me they could sell me a 2003 Hyundai Elantra for 1000 down and $280/mth. They told me NO one gets a car for that low monthly rate amount. Then as I'm signing the paperwork, they say "oh, we're going to defer your additional $1000 down payment and break it up over a 5 week period BEFORE your monthly payments of $280 are due." I never agreed to put down $2000.... and on top of that, they charged me 15K for this car! Its only worth $4700 on NADA's website!
Being that I have very low credit thanks to an ex who screwed me over, I thought I had no choice. But to be honest, taking public transportation is better than this! I bought the car Aug 12, 2014 and my first payment is due Aug 15, 2014. How is this possible??? Then they say "You'll get a reminder call about the payment." But they didn't say you would get this call 5 times over 2 days!!! I called them and asked them to stop harassing me and I would be bringing the payment in a couple of hours and they said "You were supposed to pay this morning!". What difference does it make WHAT time I pay??? As long as I pay before the end of business day!
DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT buy here. You DO have other options! You just have to look for them. I am seriously going to trade this in within the next 6-12 months and be done with it. I'd rather pay an actual dealership 20K for a better car than to pay 15K to these scumbags.

Call them and tell them your payment is going to be late or get a better job like I did and your pay day changes from your due date. They can not change the date and they will be calling you and sending past due notices. I am saving up for a down payment, taking my tags and going to a better dealer with way less interest and headaches. They can take that piece of garbage. I purchased a 2002 Jeep Cherokee from the Winchester location. There has been riddled with problems. Every time I take the jeep to get serviced it comes back with more problems. Every time I'm told I'm wrong and nothing is wrong! They replaced water pump with the wrong water pump! I had to go and replace the pump myself. I ask for a new thermostat, they said it was fine and didn't need changed. I examined it myself, it was in pieces! Oil changes, I gave them a filters to use, they never change the filter! I've ask for them to check the computer board several times, told it was good. Today I was told that they don't have the equipment to check the board.
In November I took it for a new starter. It came back with damage to the interior. I asked them to check the shocks and struts because the jeep felt really weird. I was told nothing was wrong, turns out I was right. The jeep needed new sway bar bushings and shocks! The most recent issue is the oil gauge drops then goes back to its normal level. I was told it was fix by installing a new sensor! I didn't even get out of the parking lot before it happened again! When I asked what exactly what sensor was change. I was told the heater censor and coolant censor. The most recent service visit I was told that the ignition was bad and they had to changed the steering column in order to fix it.... Now when I turn on the exterior light (headlights) everything else turns off, radio, and mileage gauge. They changed the steering wheel now none of the controls work, cruise control, cd changer, horn, and the air bag light is on!

They said they would but didn't. Nobody called me and told me that it was a problem with my account or anything. I called them back a few times that day, they said it was fine. Then I went to close the account out and I notice it was still money in it. So I closed the account and put the money into a new one. Then I called them with the new info but they said I had to come in but I could not go to Greenville and do that so that night they came and picked my truck up. The money was in the account they had on file for two days. I think they just wanted my car back to resale it after I made that 4,000 dollar down payment! I am going to take them to court so if you want to file a suit also please email me at **.

When we explained that we knew the value of the car and it was not worth what they were asking they became angry and offensive toward us. Wasted 3 hours of our day only to try and screw us. After we made it clear we never wanted to hear from them they proceeded to call us and try to get us to come back. Even a month later they called to "check up on us". This was the most unprofessional sale we ever encountered. They were not willing to come down one penny even though we all knew they were WAY overcharging us. Might I add that after they saw how much money I made, and knew I could afford it, they acted like they could get this over on me. VERY SKETCHY, SHADY, ARROGANT, and flat out RUDE. Not the way real professional car dealers make a sale at all!!!

I went to JD Byrider and was not approved for a car. Sometime close to tax time they call me to come in. They were having a special. You could use your taxes to get a car today. I went in and it took so long I told them I was leaving. They gave me the car to take home to test drive for two days. The second day of having the car, the engine light came on. I finished up sign the papers and got the car. They wanted me to give them half of my tax return and I told them what I can afford and they agreed to take $2200. However first I had to pay $200 every two week for 2 month then $185 for another couple of months then $179.17 after they got my taxes. I have been paying since November 2013 including my $2200 from taxes and all my receipt says I still owe $9237 and my car was for $12000.
I was late 2 days on my payment. They would track my car down and leave letters, come knock on my door unexpectedly because I was late 3 days. Now this is funny. I could pay all my payment one week because I was called off my job twice in that pay period so I could only pay $150. My bi-weekly payment is $217.17. They called me continually. I wasn't ignoring them or nothing. I told her what I had and she said partial payment is better than none. After that she call the same day asking if I can't pawn something or get a loan to pay the remainder of the balance. My engine light is still on constantly not continually. You can't be late. They are not regular dealers that you have some wiggle room just in case something unexpected happen. They are vampires. If I could go back, I would have stayed with my rent to go car. At least I would have paid it off already.

Bought car in 2013 from JD Byrider in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Shadeland location. It is a Buick LeSabre, 2003. I thought it was in good condition, looked at all the regular things on a car when you first buy it. Let me say this first, please, before you buy a car from these shysters, you need to look at everything, and I mean everything. The 24-month, 24,000 miles warranty is tricky. They also do not disclose any information that is important to your life and safety while operating the vehicle. I never thought about inspecting the brake lines on the car.
From now on, I definitely will. Upon the first two months of driving the vehicle, I began to experience brake light problems with the car. I would call, and report this and was told to "just put some brake fluid in the car and you will be fine". This was suggested to me by the **, who does not care if you live or die after you leave the lot with the car. Anyway, after doing what he said, the light went out. That very same day, as I was driving my grandkids, 5 of them on the 465 interstate, the brakes on the car went out and we were in fast moving traffic.
Needless to say, I was scared out of my wits as well as my grandkids. We thought we were going to die that day or get seriously injured. I did what was, I guess right and got the vehicle slowed down and pulled over to the side of the interstate. You can imagine the traffic whizzing quickly by us. The grandkids were very scared and shook up after a near fatal accident caused by the brakes going out in the car. I was too. I called the service shop on Shadeland, and was told again to put brake fluid in the car. I had someone come and pick up my grandkids and take them away. I then walked about 2 miles to a gas station and purchased the brake fluid, again.
I then called ** and he set up an appointment for me to come in to the shop. The day of the appointment, early November, I arrived at 7 am sharp as I was leaving town that day and needed to be on the road by 11 am. I told ** this as well. I get to the shop and wait for a couple of hours. I talk to ** and she informs me that they cannot get to me till at least another hour. I told her I had an appointment and she said, that there were other ahead of me. I was the only one in the office at that time. ** also had a real bad attitude and did not have her "customer Service" thinking cap on or something.
After finding out that the shop will not attend to my vehicle, I ended up taking the car across the street to a Car X Brake repair shop. The repairman fixed only one brake line, and told me that the other lines needed to be repaired. He stated that he would not have sold me a vehicle with brake lines in a totally rusted out condition. He repaired the line for me and got me on my way, no thanks to JD Byrider. I made it to Austin with no problems, thank god. As I was going to work and leaving my residence, I was driving out of my gate entrance into heavy traffic, and all of a sudden the brakes went out and I could not stop. I was going downhill and the speed picked up, and I was shot into oncoming traffic in a vehicle that could not stop.
Needless to say, that too was a scary situation. By the grace of god, traffic was minimal. I coasted into oncoming traffic and I had to use all my years of driving experience to navigate thru oncoming traffic to find a spot to let my vehicle slow down by itself since the brakes went out. I had to miss work for a couple of hours due to me getting my vehicle off the road and back to my house. I had to have the vehicle towed to a Brake Specialist shop for repair, which I thought would be a simple brake job. Imagine my concern when I was once again told that, this car is a safety hazard and should not be on the road at all. The shop manager told me then about my brake lines and how rusted out they were. He then explained that this kind of rust did not just happen. It was on the car prior (at least 2 years from the specialist perspective) and needed to be taken care of before that car was sold to anyone.
The brake shop refused to fix just part of it. The ** told me that he could not guarantee my safety if all the work was not done on the brake lines. I then called JD Byrider and talked to Sales who got me to Service who gave me no resolution. They were in full defensive mode. I finally talked to **, who got me to **, who arranged for a subsidiary of JD Byrider's to look at the car and if possible, repair it. I get a call from the Firestone here in Austin and the ** tells me that they will not work on the car either and that this car should have never been sold to anyone with those brake lines in the condition that they were. His exact statement was, "I cannot guarantee your safety in this vehicle," and to fix it would require lots of man hours and parts to correct and fix my brake lines. He also informed me that those lines were rusted out way before I bought the car and should have been brought to my attention to see if I wanted to purchase a vehicle in that condition.
Now, I am going thru so much, "red tape" with JD Byrider and they still want me to pay for the brakes which was quoted at about 3,000 dollars. I am unhappy and mad that JD Byrider would put my life and my kids and grandkids lives in danger by selling me a vehicle under the impression that it was certified ok to drive safely. I am appalled that this company does not want to fix my vehicle, or reimburse me or give me a safer one. How does this happen in America? I am a veteran, served my country, and this is how I am treated. I would never recommend this company to anyone, not even an enemy.

CNAC is the fake finance company that JD Byrider uses. They are all scam artists. I went to this company to find a family vehicle. When I got there, they made me fill out paperwork before I was allowed to see any vehicles. After they verified my info, they made me and my family wait in the lobby for almost 2 hours while they went "out back" and found a Ford Taurus to sell to me. I was disappointed as I have four children and a husband. But they insisted that this is what the "bank" said that I needed. I was about to walk out and they miraculously found a 2005 Dodge Caravan that was available. From here, the story gets ugly and downright unjust. The van ended up in the shop over 5 times in one year and each time they kept it for at least 2-3 weeks. (No rental provided)
I ended up voluntarily surrendering the van the last time that it broke down. I sent them a certified letter telling them that I no longer was willing to make payments or deal with another repair bill. Instead of them coming to pick it up, they kept calling my family members. I have not paid in over a month and that van is still sitting in my driveway. It's obvious that they don't want the van, they want my money. Stay AWAY from these people. They will take your money, threaten you and fraudulently repair your vehicle.

They had my car keys so they could evaluate my trade in and would not give them back until I completed "the process". After being there close to 6 hours total I was told unless I gave them $1000 down payment I would not be approved. All of this after not being allowed to choose the vehicle I would like to purchase. They tried to tell me that I HAD to buy a Ford Taurus. I told them I don't want that car. They said, "It's our 'process' you have to take what we feel you need NOT what you want." Where do I begin? Top associate Stoner I mean Stone "Wow'd" me and me Fiance from the door. He went into detail with a Powerpoint talking about the 3-yr warranty but lost me at the biweekly payments. He asked me to agree and or promise to "never, ever be late on a single payment." Me and my Fiance thought "Hey, that's reasonable". We came in today and decided to test drive a vehicle. He pulled up the Pontiac and reentered the building. He had the audacity to say and I quote "Can you pull up to that gas pump and let my associate put gas in the vehicle." My initial thoughts were, "Why would you ever ask any buyer to assist in pumping gas for a test drive. Stone? Are you serious man?" (My conscience said).
Then I notice there appeared to be false plates on the vehicle which also was a red flag. From the beginning and I hate to be judgmental in this statement, but Mr. Stone (Which was his first name) appeared to have a serious drug problem. He looked very sick and his skin I quote my Fiancee on this "Was peeling like some sort of reptile". Now we test drove the car only because he literally got on his knees on the scorching concrete and begged me and my Fiance to test the car. Did I mention his inventory seemed more like a personal collection of used cars? Also after further inspection of the pictures on the site, we noticed the cars in the photos were not on the property we had visited.
I told Stone that "Seven Cars" was not a good selection and he said he had a shipment coming in. I asked "How many cars would be shipped?", he replied "Not sure". Prior to today I asked Stoner I mean Stone how much would it be to hold a vehicle, he replied "The down payment", I thought to myself I could drive the car off the lot for that price. In conclusion, THIS PLACE IS NOT A CAR LOT BUT A PERSONAL COLLECTION OF OVERPRICED USED VEHICLES. If you are reading this after purchasing from J.D. Byrider, invest in a Mechanic.

I bought a car from them, and I was desperate. I needed a ride to work and did not have any, not anyone to help. After buying the car on a deferred down payments contract, I successfully paid the down payment off. It was $1800.00 down. Then the payments began immediately. I asked if they could change the payments from bimonthly to monthly and was emphatically told, "NO." There was absolutely no grace period. I know my credit is horrible, so I tried to work with this. But, it's scary. If I get sick, laid off, whatever, at any point in the contract, there is absolutely no grace period, even if it is the last payment. I can be at the last payment and they can then repossess the car, if a payment is one day late.
Then, before a month of having the car, the driver's door would not stay closed, the air only worked on one setting, and the car would not start right after putting in gas. I lost 3 work days getting Geico to tow it to the company, getting it fixed. Yet, they refused to show any grace to me when I had a problem with one payment. All I asked was for them to take all of the money off the card on the 16th instead of charging it twice a month. They emphatically refused. I am at wit's end and tomorrow, I will be without a car. I will NEVER recommend anyone purchasing a car from them. I have had the car a little over a year and 1/2 and have had several different problems. It has been in for service probably 10 times! 1 week after purchasing the car the air conditioning was leaking inside the car! I had to take it back several times before they decided to replace something that other mechanics have told me should have been checked in the first place. Also the windshield was leaking. They fixed that correctly...so I thought. It is now leaking again every time it rains. I had to have the radiator replaced, something was wrong with the fuel pump, have had issues with a vapor sensor which made the engine light come on. I could not get the car inspected until the light was off. They would "fix it" then after I drove 50 -100 miles, the check engine light came back on.
Almost 2 months later they finally got the light off and inspected it. That was after I took it there and told them I will not leave (or pay them another cent) until it was done. I now have to drop it off again on Monday so they can "take a look" at the leaky windshield that they supposedly fixed before. I understand that it is a used car and will have some things that need repaired but if I am paying almost $400 a month I expect to have a reliable car that I don't have to take to the shop every month! I have asked several times for them to give me a different car but they say they cannot do that. After they had the money and I had the car, everything changed. 2 weeks after I purchased the car, it broke down on me. I was stuck with no ride and no help. Seeing as it was a new used car, I didn't think towing was something I needed. I ended up taking the bus home for a 2 hour ride. Well, 2 more weeks go by and what do you know, my car breaks down again in the middle lane on one of the most busiest intersections in Las Vegas. I call and talk to the man who sold me the car and he said you have to get it towed here again and pay the 25$ deductible for the car. I lost it. I told him I didn't understand how they could sell me a car that breaks down with 30days still on it. I told him this will be the second time I'm having the car looked at and now I'm not so sure this was the best idea to choose JD byrider. He tells me that he's just the salesman (manager at that) and that I have to wait till Monday for my car to even get looked at. He had no sympathy for my situation and didn't care that I could have been hit and possibly died in this death trap of a car.... I get a friend of mine to come help me mess with the wires, the car starts again!
Well, here I am 40 days to the day I bought the car and it's broke down yet again on Friday, the 30th of May. I work at a hospital and my job doesn't stop. I'm stuck with no car again! I called them again, told them that I was broke down. The rude ** receptionist says bring it in, it's only 9:30am. I tell her how would you like me to do so? (Genius) She was rude and once again, I have to get it towed. I wouldn't ever wish JD byrider on anybody. I hope this helps to know that if you're stranded, all they care about is that payment!!! No solutions, just more money and more issues.

I would like to say that after being jerked around for 2 months, we finally purchased a vehicle, no thanks to J.D. Byrider. We are involved in a better program that's been proven to be more effective than yours... Tom Tepe is who I suggest. We found a vehicle that fits very well in our budget. I also didn't appreciate the sales rep from J.D. Byrider texting me from her personal cell, on a Sunday, early in the morning, telling us to go elsewhere... especially since we never had any intention of ever contacting your company again. I think we were fair in being upset after going 3 weeks and never receiving a phone call. I would not recommend J.D. Byrider to anyone unless you want to have a budget made out for bills you don't even have or spend a significantly amount less on. NOT IMPRESSED!

First of all, let me start by sharing a little about my family and me. We are your average American low income family. My wife and I have been married for almost nine years and have struggled a lot with credit and making payments on time. Our only child who is almost six now, had a several medical condition, which caused us to spend a lot of time in and out of the children hospital and eventually led to a brain surgery, June of last year. We do not have any government support and only have one job for a family of three. We had a 2003 Suzuki aerio, which we got financed through Car Max two years ago.
About a week ago our Suzuki broke down, called American Credit Acceptance, the financed company who financed our Suzuki, explained to them what had happen and told them that I called three different local repair shops minimum estimate was $1,400 with parts and labor to fix. American Credit Acceptance told the best they could do was give me two months of deferral. I am only making $560 gross weekly. I honestly did not see fixing our Suzuki worth it so my wife and I started looking around.
When I first heard of J.D. Byrider I honestly did not think great things about this dealership. In fact I thought the worst about them and did so simply based on the negative reviews I read online about them. It's really sad and hurtful how ignorant people's reviews can truly hurt an honest and respectful business. Thankfully I decided to judge them myself and not let someone's personal feelings effect my decision on going there. I went to the J.D. Byrider located at 3700 West Broad St, Columbus, OH 43228 (614) 456-1717. It was a little after 12, when I got there I was right away welcomed by Mr. **. He asked me what led me to come here today. I explained my issue and told him that I previously called seven dealerships non would give me any information nor wanted to hear anything about me nor my issue without going there first.
I told **, that a salesperson there named ** was very kind, respectful and poor guy must have been on the phone for at least 5 minutes just listening to me which made me feel like he truly cared about knowing what is our issue. ** replied with a smile and said Good! Glad to hear that, because I trained him. Everything about this location was to perfection, as if they only open that day for me. The temp inside the office was perfect around 68 to 69 degrees. They had a large open guest lobby with a large LCD TV, and FREE popcorn, which my son loved.
** kindly gave me a quick tour of the entire location starting with the service area. Everything was so clean and relaxing no loud noises of any kind. Although, it is a very large company, covering most of the America this location made my family and I feel right at home. **, did an amazing job not only getting me approve for a beautiful 2007 Chrysler town and country, but was also very helpful keeping my son entertained with funny jokes, like my son told me. **, the financed lady there was very helpful like the entire staff was; she even switched the TV channel to SpongeBob squarepants so that my son could also enjoy his stay there.
The general manager, ** was so kind and sincere. If it wasn't for **, **, and ** working together like the amazing team that they are we would have never driven off with our beautiful car. My credit at the moment is far from fair. I only have one job, which is from a staffing agency and currently have collections that I need to get resolved. Regardless of all those negatives that could have easily resulted in us not having a car today, they wonderful people at J.D. Byrider located at 3700 West Broad St, Columbus, OH 43228 (614) 456-1717 worked so hard to make it possible for us. All my wife and I can truly say is thank you so much!
Note: If you know you have good credit and looking for the best lowest APR than this location is not for you, unless you want to be taken care off by the best in customer service.
Note: If you are looking for a new car, or you care more about the way the car looks, rather than the fact that you would have a reliable transportation and an opportunity to rebuild your not so good credit than this location is not for you.
Note: If you purchase a car from this dealer, and you are unhappy with the payments, blame yourself for that. These people gave me no form of pressure of any kind to sign into a contract with them and worked with me based on my income to find the best vehicle for my family within our budget.
Note: It is your responsibility to speak up! Don't wait to get home to complain about the noise or a/c, ** didn't want to make any deals with me until I test drove each of the vehicles I was approved for, he told me that's just how they do business there, and believe me I am 100% grateful for that. Because the car we chose had a minor noise and an small issue with the a/c we noticed only after testing the vehicle, when I mentioned these concerns to **, he quickly passed these concerns to the service manager who came over explained what he was going to have done to the vehicle and right before taking the vehicle home. It was amazing to see they truly fixed the concerns we had and also assured us that it was also covered under their 24,000/24 months warranty with no out of pocket cost to us if we were to ever have any more issues while the warranty was valid. Not only do they say they care about their customers having a good vehicle they prove it by providing a discount card to Jiffy Lube, for a $5 oil change on their basic package, and they also have one of the lowest in town labor and parts cost for services.
Note: Being honest and straight forward goes along way! Note: If you have very poor credit like me, expect to be there a few hours. But do not let that stop you from your next beautiful car, these wonderful people WILL HELP, tell **, **, or ** that Ronald ** sent you. I guarantee they will bend backwards for you.

I'm sorry to all the people on here who had bad experiences. That said, I've had a great experience with JDB. Admittedly their interest rates are pretty high, however if you have bad credit like we do your choices limited. Been with them 4 years. Got a 2000 nissan pathfinder. Had a problem with it in the second week. They paid for all the repairs which amounted to around 1000 dollars. It's been a good car. About 5 months after purchasing it I was injured at work. Of course work comp doesn't pay as much as working. We had a lot of financial trouble til I went back to work about 7 months later. They worked with me every step of the way. Decreased our payment. Let us pay late when we needed too. Worked with us and let us skip a few payments. They were wonderful. Our credit is now improved. They are always compassionate, helpful and understanding. Maybe it depends on which location you use, but Bloomington IL location are great. Especially my acct manager Nicole. She's the best. I would definitely recommend them for people with credit problems.

I purchased a car there 3 years ago. I specifically remember the man telling me that it was a 3-year loan and that after the loan was up in 3 years, my credit would be much better. Well fast forward almost 3 years and I am trading the car in... I have been in my new car for a month and all of the sudden I notice that CNAC has withdrawn money out of my account. I call them and they are saying that the Toyota dealership did not send them a payoff check... Come on now. I am actually friends with the Toyota people and I know for a fact that this check was sent. So now Toyota is hand delivering a check today (put a stop payment on the one that I am SURE is just sitting on someone's desk) and then after work today I am heading over to CNAC for a refund. And you better believe that they will give me one. Or I will personally bring 400 of my closest friends to picket outside of their facility. They see us coming a mile away. They know that we have poor credit and that we have few other options.
I never not one time was late on a payment. The car that I had thru them broke down all the time. These people are crooks. I am even closing my bank account today because the thought of them taking money out again makes me sick. (The man I spoke to even blamed their outdated computer system and said that they were getting another one.) Well, make up your mind... Is the check "not there" or is it your computer system?????

I have a good one. Well first as most of you I had little to no money and no credit. I have never heard of these people. Should have said no right there. I bought a 2005 Ford Focus. Before I even got off the lot, it started messing up. It started when I test drove but after signing papers, it stopped. They fixed it but I had to pay 25 bucks? I had it for 30 seconds. I paid $12,000 for it. It's been 14 months later. I still owe $11,000; that's with $380 a month. Never been late. I have auto payment. They forgot to take it out one day then called the next day trying to take my car. I was like, "What? It's my fault you didn't take it out?" I was going to just dropped it off and say screw it but then I would get sued and I would still have to pay and they would have my car so I didn't do that.
It just blows my mind how they say "we are here to help" yet they are screwing everyone. The first 2 weeks, I didn't even have my car and I was at work. I was going to pay when I got off and they called me like 5 times. I went off; it's like "Dude, I'm going to pay you. I'm at work and I haven't even drove the car yet." They had it the whole time. It's like, "Give me a break man. I'm paying BMW payments on a 05 Ford Focus that I overpaid by 10 grand..." That is all. Don't waste your time people. Good luck on your car search. Hope I made up your mind to not go there.

It was a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am and I asked before the purchase what the price on the car was. The Finance Manager proceeded to tell me "well we have to get with the banks first and see what they come back with for YOU." We should have ran then! What kind of dealership doesn't know the price of their own vehicles prior to getting the banks involved!? There was also a carfax given to us stating that the vehicle was being sold $590 below book value. Well, the banks came back with $9995, not to mention tax, fees and the 24% interest that's going to make the final sale price around $13,000. After signing and purchasing, I was told by friends and family with Kelley Blue Book proof that the car isn't worth more than $5700 retail and individual owner sale at $3700. I feel disgusted.

First, reading the reviews. Most of you come across as very uneducated people. I went to JD Byrider as I was in desperate need of a car. I work 2.5 hours from my home. It's not like they take you out and let you browse the lot. But I am satisfied with my purchase so far. I wish the service garage was open later, or weekends. Having my car serviced requires me to take a day off work. And yes, the interest rate and payments are high. But people... if your (and my) credit ratings were better, we'd qualify for better cars at better rates. My CarFax report was right on. No lies. Yes, my car is older. But it had low miles on it, and it's a solid vehicle. To the person who wrote about purchasing the Jeep: I've been in Jeeps. Most are cheap. Just rustbuckets. I wouldn't purchase one brand new, let alone used.
When purchasing a car, you need to be aware of what's good and what's bad, and act accordingly. Do your research. There are many dealers out there who are worse. I went to a new car dealer, and the interest rate they offered was 8% higher than JD Byrider. When I called them, they were upfront with me about the interest rate. So I knew what I was getting into. But they are giving me an opportunity to rebuild my credit by making regular payments. And here's an option... that I'm sure all of you who had your autos repoed were aware of... You can have automatic deductions from your checking or savings account. They set mine up for the day after payday.
So...quit your whining. You beat your car? Well, then, don't expect the warranty to cover it. It's clearly stated what's covered and what's not. You didn't do your research on dependable vehicles? Gee... you're ignorant. You haven't done the recommended maintenance? You're lazy. I think this is a fairly decent organization. And they do not get their cars from salvage yards. So grow up, wipe your sniveling noses.

I purchased a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser black Touring edition. It had close to 90,000 miles, but was comfortable. This vehicle was purchased in June 2013. I began experiencing my first issue with the vehicle in August of that year when a loud rumbling noise was coming from under the hood. The service manager reported that it was a motor mount that was defective; however, it was not covered under the 2-yr agreement that they promote to the public. I paid $115.00 of my own money to replace a battery that I had reported to the Auto Dept but was overlooked and estimated to be a totally different problem, by the service manager overlooking this battery replacement which was covered under my warranty.
My vehicle would not start during the months of December and January. I also reported that due to my osteoarthritis that I was experiencing extreme difficulty with the gear shift. It was reviewed and reported it just need some oil. The gear shift continue to stick causing severe numbness and throbbing pain in my right hand. The gear shift was never corrected. I was also informed that I would receive a reimbursement for the monies that were paid out to a brand new battery. However before I could initiate the paperwork for receiving this refund, the dealership repossessed my vehicle leaving me stranded and helpless as an disabled individual.
On December 10, I reported being laid off my place of work, but assured them they would continue to receive auto payments just not on the dates of my original scheduled payments. I continued to make payments from my unemployment security. It was then I encountered the finance rep who blatantly threatened that my vehicle would be in jeopardy of being taken if I didn't resume the original payment schedule. Regardless of my intent to pay, my vehicle had been whisked away after I put my funds in it and after I had made consistent payments on my vehicle to avoid any mishaps.
I recommended several co-workers to this establishment who all walked away with vehicles. I must say I have never encountered a business where they act as loan sharks. JD BYRIDER are no better than payday loan stores or any of these side store corner institutions. I believe that my vehicle was retrieved unfairly especially after they had been made aware of a new battery and alternator being replaced in the vehicle. I was constantly threatened that once they repossessed my vehicle that If I couldn't pay three months in advance, that it would be sold at an auction. Of course I didn't believe that with their knowledge of those parts being new. I had to pay $60.00 to retrieve my handicap placards from the repo yard.
In the beginning I thought they were nice people to do business with. However they turned out to be habitual liars, harassers and loan sharks. I would have fared better taking my chances on Craigslist. JD BYRIDER are a sham to me. They refused to consider their customer's hardship and disability after they were given plenty of business on the behalf of who I sent to them. These places are get quick rich because they purchase these cars from junkyards and auto auctions, fix them up and sell them to the general public as if they are a respectable dealership. THIS IS MY DISCLAIMER. BEWARE OF JD BYRIDER AND THEIR UNFAIR AND FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Please research these minimally exposed dealerships when they advertise these larger than life deals on TV. In reality it's bogus and fraudulent and they don't care about maximizing their customer's positiveness in the products they sell. The lack of professionalism that I experienced with the finance company was all out brazen and deplorable. They should reevaluate a sensitivity training and proper phone etiquette for their employees. I will never frequent them or any other shallow non-recognizable dealership again. To any potential car buyers, beware of this dealership because in the end you will be angry and extremely disappointed as I was.

I was in an accident and have a beautiful Dodge Durango that was paid for, but needed a car I could get in and out of since rehabbing from 2 broke legs. My credit was in the toilet from major medical bills and no one would finance me. I found JD Byrider, bad bad bad choice and very poor decision making on my part. I already had to swallow an almost 24% APR on an overpriced 06 Dodge Grand Caravan. I knew the facts and reality of this before signing. What I wasn't prepared for was the list of garbage I had to endure..... 3 days after signing I received a call that my paperwork had to be redone & signed because they input the WRONG Social Security number!!! Because their hours suck I had to leave work early to go sign more paperwork....
Next: originally I agreed to a 3.5 year loan. I was told the only change in paperwork was the corrected SSN... NOT SO MUCH. My terms were now 4 years 3 months, which I didn't realize until I got home and compared the paperwork... Needless to say that they have yet to correct it. THEN... I go to the tag office to pick up my tags & could not get them because the car had no inspection done, which is a requirement. Another day off due to them to get the inspection. Let me add, the finance manager drove & met me to give me another set of temp tags. Fast fwd - go to pick up my tags & couldn't get them because they put the latest temp tags in someone else's name. This state does not allow more than one set per car in the same person's name.
So, long story short, I had 3 temp tags, my van sat for 2 weeks with no tags when the 2nd set expired!!! Meanwhile. I refused to make the payment. I missed a total of 14 days from work (almost 3 weeks from work) a few really key things to keep in mind. The store/lot/service department I have to deal with told me, "If you bring in a car without an appointment they have 3 days to 'LOOK' at." This doesn't include fixing it or ordering parts. They do not give loaner cars and you have 100 deductible. AND... they do not allow you to come back at anytime to trade in. Pretty smart, huh????!
I know it's hard when you need a car, but if you can save 3 months worth of payments you can get the same thing they will sell you for 5 times that amount. I bought an 06 Caravan. Price was 12k plus. 2 years later, I owe 8937.35. The van is only worth about a fourth of that and that's being nice! Please heed all these warnings. PLEASE. DO NOT BUY FROM JD BYRIDER IN ANY STATE. THEY PREY UPON THOSE WHO HAVE NOWHERE ELSE TO GO.

So I said okay, well can you take it out of my check piece by piece. They said no we don't do that anymore. So you not trying to help me help myself you just want me ** out. It's frustrating because I needed a car so bad but now I'm like I don't need car at all. I would give them the car back if I didn't have to pay the remaining balance on it. Their sense of business is ridiculous. I asked them if they could replace the dashboard light and she said well we're not going to charge you for the bulb but to do all of that would take an hour so we have to charge you $50. Outrageous amount for a piece of junk.

Do not buy a car from this company!!!!!! No matter what your situation is, this is the worst way to go. They charge you 3 to 4 times more than what the car is worth, the cars are crap, and have big problems with them and they will be in the shop more than on the road. Then they will charge you $25 every time you come in which will be a lot. They charge you a daily interest, and you feel like you will never pay it off. I bought a 2001 Jeep Cherokee in 2011, have made every payment and still owe almost $5000. Can you believe that? The driver's seat is almost broke completely off, the transmission is slipping, the blinkers work off and on. It has a major oil leak, and the hood has never shut right. I cannot stress enough Do Not Buy From This So-Called Company... Walk, take a bus, bum a ride, hitch hike, take a taxi, but don't go to JD Byrider.

J.D. Byrider is not in the car dealer business, they are in the repo business. If you are 12 hours late on your payment they come and get the vehicle. I was not even a day late on my payment and they came and got it. The repo guys didn't even have the nerve to let me know so I could even get my stuff out. I am a contractor and all of my tools were in it and I am leaving town Monday morning. And now I have to go replace all of my tools because I can't do anything since it is Saturday.
My first warning should have been when the truck wouldn't start the next morning. The second should have been when the finance guy was doing my rough tax estimate and got really excited when he seen how much I was getting back to pledge on my down payment. The third is when he called my wife at 9 in the morning on the day the payment was due demanding her to come in and pay. She told him that I would do it when I got off work since I get paid. And he made the comment, “Don't he let you have any money they have to know everything about.” I'm surprised they didn't ask how many times I poop a day and I don't know how many time he called me in the last 2 weeks wanting me to file my taxes through their tax people after I told them no. My advice to you is run away from them as fast as you can. I sure wish I would have read all the reviews on them. I would have done the same thing - run away.

Well then my torque converter went out and they said that there was nothing wrong with it, when I had 3 different mechanics look at it and they all said the same thing that I needed a new transmission or have it rebuilt. Again they would not help me whatsoever. Instead, they wanted me to pay for the trans and still make my pymts. So I decided to let the car go back due to I couldn't afford to do both. JD BYRIDER IN AKRON, OH A RIP OFF. First I purchased a 2005 PT Cruiser in early part of 2013, car looked nice. I got it home and really looked it over. The word ** was carved in the back that you could barely see, only if you really looked. I took the car back the next day and they said someone must have done it after I received it. Then less than 2 months later, the car was making a grinding noise in the wheel. I called them and took the car in to the service dept. Now mind you when I purchased the car I supposedly purchased the warranty with them and they said it was bumper to bumper, whatever is wrong they would fix. Yeah, right. Not true not only was it not covered under my warranty they charged me about $100 to look at it... Wow are you serious.
Now almost a year later I was in an accident - black ice hit a guard rail. Car was totaled, insurance paid, but there still is a balance and they want me to make payments on it as if I still had the car. I told Joe that no, what I will do is make payments monthly towards the $3000 but I would not be sending in $360 monthly. He said, "Well, we can get you into another car." I told him I would not buy anything from him. Then I started getting emails from Bryan. I emailed him back and told him to stop sending me emails, I would catch the bus first. He called and said "We are wondering when will you be in so we can get you into another car." I told him I would not be in, that I had a car. (I don't as of this date.) He wanted where I got it from, what it cost me, what type of dealership. I told him that was none of his concern.
But I tell you what, when and if I get a car it would be thru Magic City Motors. They are fair and they honor their warranty, no hidden fees and cars are nice. I know this because I bought a car from them in the past and my daughter has purchased two cars from them and they are really nice people so if anyone is looking for a car in this area, I would suggest Magic City Motorcars...

I purchased a 2005 GMC Envoy from this dealership in July 2012. This vehicle came with a two (2) year warranty, thank goodness for me. In July 2013, the transmission went out. Okay, so I had a warranty, had it towed, had to pay for rental vehicle at my expense, and a 30.00 deductible. They shipped the car to Tranny shop and fixed it with a rebuilt tranny. Okay, no problem. Good to go. NOT! Approximately less than 45 days later, the Transmission goes out again. Really! I was a little more upset this time. I have missed work, taken time off work, demanded the rental car and demanded the money back from my expense on the first rental car when it went out.
Okay, the dealer did all this and shipped the vehicle off to tranny shop again to be fixed. Service manager said the clutch plate was bad in first re-built. Okay, again week later, I get it back. That was in Sept. Today, October 24, low and behold, it goes out again on the way to work at 6:45am. Okay, I ask the dealer for a different vehicle and advise I will be filing a formal complaint and requested a different car altogether. I was told due to a contract, they can not just trade out cars. They put me in a rental vehicle, a truck, only if I gave them my bank card. Then the dealer's Regional Manager offers me a Gift Card of all things for my trouble.
How am I supposed to get to work and back on a gift card? Fly? Needless to say, I told them to PUT THEIR GIFT CARD WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE and they will hear from the Attorney General and hung up. Now how long is it going to take to get my car back again? I am done with this dealership! Do not buy a vehicle from them. So for the 1st 7 and a half months, we kept taking the car back for service. Now mind you, within this time frame, we made all our payments on time. Even went so far as to pay a little over. We never missed a payment for that time until 8/23/13. My husband got laid off. We called them, told them what happened. We were told to borrow the money. Now we, meaning, my husband and I, are saying to ourselves where and who and we missed the next payment that was due 9/6/13. Now my husband did get a job so we made a payment well over the amount and that was not good enough for them. Now keep in mind, my husband just started a new job.
We lost our home so we have to find somewhere to live and pay other bills to live. Now we are able to going back to make our payments well over the amount and we were told no, they want the money and car. Now, without the car, it puts us back at the start line. My husband would have no way to work among other things now. Like I said, we had problem after problem with this car. It stayed getting repaired more than we had it and still made payment and if you look at our payment history, we never missed 1 payment at all and now they want money that we do not have. Yes, we can make our payments now. No, they do not want it. Now, if you ask me, first of all, the cost of the cars are a little too high. You are paying new car prices for a used car - my is valued at $3300.00 that is and I am paying twice that amount. Now they say they help people but do they? No, not at all because in our case we have a good standing paying history but it does not matter with them.
I took my daughter-in-law over there to get a car before this happened. Now if I knew then what I know now, I would have told her to go to some other place. I mean CNAC act like... People go through hard times. In this day and time, we are all living pay check to pay check and could be out of a job at any given time. You would think they would say "ok I see you are back to making payments." We have been good customers but have treated very poor. If you do not have to, please do not go here for a car just in case something like this happens to you. Now I want to pay my car note but they want 3 times the amount. Now I ask you again. Where and how or we cannot keep our car. Thank you for letting me get this off my chest. A very shocked and hurt customer.

She came back on and said he could bring payment in Monday. They would talk to him about the responsibility then.
The attitude she had was horrible, I was so angry at her attitude if it was my car it would have been sitting on their step! I bought a Freestar from them. The salesperson was nice and courteous. My husband and I test drove the van and everything worked and the engine sounded good and looked pretty clean for a 7 year old vehicle. So the actual deal wasn't too bad… but within a week of having my van, my power locks went out. I figured I'd call J.D. Byrider and get a Fob for it. Well I was told that if it wasn't with the key when I bought the vehicle there was nothing they could do. It wouldn't have been so bad but in order to open it up for my kids, I had to open all the doors from the inside and wasn't even able to open the tailgate. After taking all the money I had, I had to find a way to get that fixed (what’s the point of having a van if you can't even get in it). So after 2 weeks I was finally able to get a Fob and luckily, my local locksmith is awesome. And after explaining situation, charged me half for Fob and found out why my power locks didn't work. So with no help from J.D. Byrider, I am now able to get my family in the van.
And now, I have bad brakes, dry rotted tires, a hesitation in the van when I hit the gas (can't tell you how many times I've almost gotten rear-ended) and something in my front end is rattling. I've had the van for 4 months and am afraid to take it in for repairs after reading some of these horror stories. My other vehicle is broke down in the driveway so I depend on this van. I don't need them repairing something, then telling me it wasn't covered and am not allowed to get it back until the repairs are paid for. If I was able to pay for repairs, my car would be fixed by now (it's 18 years old and was more dependable).
So now I'm stuck with a piece of crap van that I'll be paying almost $20,000 for (if I had better credit I could've gotten a new car for that) and am afraid to take it to get repairs. I don't even think this van will make it through the loan and owe too much on it (since it was OVERPRICED). I can't even trade it in for a cheaper payment. I have learned a hard lesson dealing with this and would never recommend J.D. Byrider to anyone!!!!

I purchased a 2007 Chevy Cobalt in Feb 2011. I was fed the whole line of crap that the car had been thoroughly inspected, blah, blah, blah!!! About a month and a half of having the car, I had passengers riding in the backseat... lo and behold, they had no way to buckle their seat belts as the latch part of the belts was nowhere to be found. I had to basically rip the backseat out to get to them. Aggravating but not worth spending 3 hours at the dealership over. Shortly after that, the car began to display other issues, such as the speakers cutting in and out, the dash and radio lights "dimming" or the radio lights going out completely. I was told this wasn't covered under the warranty so I said screw it. Now, I can only lock and unlock the doors from the driver side and still have issues with the radio doing this.
I was also told that I had roadside assistance through the financing. WELL... that was a HUGE JOKE. In June 2011, I got a nail in my rear passenger side tire. I called the number of the roadside company and was told that my "policy" had been cancelled because the dealership had been filling out all of the contracts incorrectly and so they were all cancelled. They did offer to reimburse for both the towing and the tire; however, I've still not seen a dime. Upon arrival of Pop-A-Lock, whom I called to change the tire for me after finding all this out, it was discovered that the spare tire I was given was not the right size or lug pattern, hence, the need for a tow truck. I called the dealership about this and was informed they would "try" to find me a new spare. Since then, I have had numerous tire issues because, apparently, I have a rim that has been welded and, after some time, it starts to wear the tire out.
In the meantime, these people have been very rude and harassing. I have my payments automatically debited every 2 weeks. At one point, I lost my debit card. I called to inform them of this and told them I would call them with the new card info once it arrived. That was not acceptable to them. They demanded I call my bank and get the new card info. Yeah, right... Banks don't give that information out over the phone. Well, since they did not have this information on that Friday, the day the payment was due, they called and left nasty messages on my phone and on all the phones of the references I had given them. That following Monday, they showed up at both my brother's and my mother's home beating on the doors so hard that my sister-in-law got scared and called the cops.
They then called me and left a threatening message stating they wanted their car and they knew for a fact that it was seen in my brother's apartment complex... News flash, I wasn't speaking to my brother at the time and hadn't been to his apartment in over 3 months. Just about everyone I have come in contact with there is extremely rude and disrespectful with the exception of Cassia **. She is actually a very sweet lady. As for Courtney **, she is a very bitter, very nasty person and I have flat out told them that I refuse to even speak to her. Now... the car is sitting in my driveway needing a new clutch. Since this is not covered under their warranty, I'm debating on just letting them have the car back as I really have no desire to deal with their rudeness and disrespectfulness any longer.

I needed a car immediately. I went to JD Byrider because my credit was poor. I only had the car not even a week - my belts were starting to go bad. They expected me to drive it in to get it checked. On my way there, I broke down on a busy highway. I called them to tell them the car broke down. I ended up getting it towed myself out of pocket because they don't tow. They fixed the belts. A couple of weeks later, my engine light came on. I went to AutoZone and got it put on the computer and got printouts of some issues. I took it to JD Byrider. They said they couldn't find anything and got the car back.
A couple of months later, the light came on again - same issue, got the same response. I was told if it came on again, bring it in and have a mechanic go for a ride. Well it’s a couple of months later, the lights on and the warranty ran out. I took it to my own garage and now I need a head gasket. Thanks JD Byrider for selling me junk. I went to another dealer and walked out in a new 2013 car.

Our car got wrecked and we needed a new one fast. Our credit is not good enough to get a car at a regular dealership. We signed the papers on Friday. On Sunday, the check engine light came on. I called them Monday morning and said that we want to bring the car back and we want out of the contract due to the fact they are selling us a car that is already falling apart. They were rude to us and said no; the car is our problem now because we signed the papers and took it off the lot. So now we are paying $9,000 for a car that is only valued at $2,500, an APR of 19%. So by the time we are done paying on it, this car will have cost us almost $20,000. That is more than the cost of a new vehicle. They are taking advantage of poor people who don't have perfect credit.

When I called about this, I was informed I could get a repair loan. But I already have one loan I am paying for repairs, plus the car note, out of every paycheck. With 131k miles and I still owe over $4,000.00 for the car, I tried to trade it in but was informed by the salesperson, "You paid too much for the car. It's upside down - that is the car is not worth what you owe." I was told the 2003 Taurus is worth about $300.00... Currently, JD Byrider is in denial of this... I have asked for arbitration to settle this dispute and I do need to speak to an attorney for legal guidance.

My husband got a car from this about March or April. We paid $250.00 every two weeks until the deposit was paid. In the interview, they expressed that they work with you. We came in a bind on June 14, 2013. My husband called to see if they could extend it until the following Friday because he just got a new job and works out of town. I have been helping with this bill and my bank card happened to be missing. The payment was due on the 14th and I was gathering the money up to try to pay on the 17th; I just needed a couple days.
I get off work at 5:00 pm every day Monday through Friday and they send me an email at 7:22 pm knowing that I get off at five talking about repossession. I feel that this was underhanded because they have my cell and work phone number and could have called to talk to me. On Saturday, the 15th, a tow truck was sent out to get the car and the driver would not let anyone get the possessions out of the car and was nasty. My husband talked to someone at JD Byrider and they were very nasty with him. They promised in the beginning that they work with their customers which is so far from the truth.
Communication is an important key in any transaction. They were nice when we went there. Why can't you have that same respect after the fact? I understand I was one day late, but I have dealt with other car places and they do give you a few extra days to get the money in. I feel that they sham people. And how was I supposed to know that they gave me to the 15th to pay, if they sent the email after 5:00 knowing that I wouldn't see it till Monday, the 17th? I never thought someone would take advantage of us like this. They seem genuine in the beginning and they even record you as you do your paperwork. But they never tell you the bad things concerning their company. I would never recommend anyone to this company ever again because I wouldn't want to see someone go through what they put us through. They're just heartless and inconsiderate. So sad!!!!

I have had three cars prior to this and I must say this was the worst experience in purchasing a car I have ever had! They completely take advantage of people with less than credit! They told me I needed $1,500 down. So when I came in with the money, they had me sign papers... In the middle of the 1,500 pages you have to sign, there was one stating I owed the bank an extra $1,000 because they loaned it to me...
I never requested a $1,000 loan from CNAC which is their bank! Had they told me the real deposit was $2,500, then I would've waited to come in with that! Not only that, but a week and a half after me buying the car, the brakes snapped! They had my car for two weeks! CNAC called me looking for payment and I told them I was not paying because I hadn't had the car! They were rude and nasty to me. I needed a vehicle in order to get and keep a job and unfortunately, I got stuck with dealing with JD Byrider and CNAC. I ended up buying a 2001 Blazer 4x4, 4dr, with 92k miles on it when I got it. At KBB, it valued at $3641. They are charging me over $11,000 for it, at a ridiculous interest rate. I have had it since Feb. of 2011 and still owe about $8000 on it. I lost the job I had, as of Dec 27th 2012, and am on unemployment. I informed them of this and they said the payments have to be paid on time regardless.
They tried telling me I need to hold back some of the money ahead of time, so that I can make my payments. I told them that I am only getting $211 per two weeks and the payment to them is $189 every 2 weeks. How does what I have left allow me to pay my other bills (car insurance, rent, gas in vehicle, etc.)? It doesn't. As of the Friday the payment is due, around 9:30 am, they called me, my wife and every reference on my form (that hasn't had their number blocked for calling) and they call daily, at least 2 times per day.
I have already informed them that my unemployment gets filed on Sunday (every other week) and they usually have the money to me on Wednesdays. They insist on calling me regardless of what I have and continue to tell them stating, "We have to call; it's our job and required by law," or some crap like that. As of now, I have car issues that have come up and need fixed, such as brakes, muffler falling off, rattling noise under hood (where they worked on it previously and over tightened the screws) so it rattles loudly.
I asked if I could trade it in, for something else, and they told me no, because I still owed over $4000 on it. Do they care if I can afford my payments and put repairs into the vehicle that should have been covered by warranty (or performed on the vehicle before being sold) as normal maintenance? No, they don't. I am going to do everything I can, to keep everyone I can away from any J.D. Byrider. It has been a terrible experience and I do not want to see anyone else suffer and get ripped off.

As soon as I saw the contract, which was the day after she got the car (it was on a Sunday during which they are closed), Monday morning 8:00am we were there and implored them to tear up the contract. Of course they didn't. So we left the car that day and took her tags to her truck. We went to DMV and told them what happened and my daughter never gave them her title to the truck.
The DMV said they cannot get another title to her truck as long as she has her tags and it's insured… within 3 days of the said contract. We're revoking the acceptance of this vehicle w/ the case# and VIN# and gave them a time limit to return the truck and tear up the contract. We have a couple more days until then. And if it falls through, I'll take them to court and let them tell the judge how they took advantage of a 19 year old w/ out her parents. They wouldn't show the carfax or even let me see my daughter being taped. I also wrote to the B.B.B. and see what comes of it. We will let you know... but do not go buy a car from them! I went in to JD Byrider in Akron, Ohio 32 weeks pregnant and stated my concern about safety and brakes because in the last 12 weeks, I had two cars blow brake lines. They seemed to sympathize with me and took my old rusted up car which was very reliable besides the blown brake line and put me in a 2003 Taurus, KBB at $3,000 for a final pay price of almost $16,000, interest included. We decided to get the warranty because we were told it was, "oh so great." Signing the 30 pages of paperwork, we asked about the price of the car many times and were told we would get to that page. It came and went with her hand over the price and it was never stated to us until all the paperwork was signed.
So we drove it off the lot very clean. It seemed to be too good to be true... It was. Two weeks later, the car started jerking and idled very hard. Thank goodness my fiance was a repairman and his dad owns a shop. We had this car eight months perfect payments, early payments and overpayments every other week of $200 on top of paying over $3,000 for repairs in only six months. My fiance lost his job and now it's just me working weekends at a restaurant, I asked to pay weekly instead of biweekly and the lady told me that if we were adult enough to buy a car, we should be adult enough to pay our note on time when it's due and there was no other way. Wow!
We could not come up with the next payment so we arranged to go in and talk with them about what we could do. That same day, my father-in-law told me the master cylinder, yes, brake problems again, was bad and needed to be replaced. So, instead of working things out, I went up there with my car, threw the keys on the table and with many people there, told them they could have their rusted up piece of you know what! They harassed me about getting the car back and I finally told them, "No, thanks, we filed bankruptcy on the car," and he was livid. Now less than a year later after that, it's doing the same thing. Also, the tranny seems to slipping. I have had it there four times for the tranny and they say there's nothing wrong with it. I purchased a vehicle at JD Byrider on 3-13-2012. The first week I had the van, the gearshift fell out of my hand. Then I had several issues regarding repair with the vehicle that followed in which they wouldn't return my calls back until I finally told them I was going to file a complaint. They finally said to bring the van in and I did. They kept it for two days and after another two days, we got the van back. It had even more issues than before. Vehicle is back in their possession as we speak with other repair issues. The vehicle was given to me in poor shape. They have this fake policy that they claim they want to help people build up their credit and they really prey on people that they know need them because of the position that they are in and their credit situations. I have never been late with not one payment and I have told them I am very dissatisfied with the van because of all the issues and they do not care. They returned my car back to me that first week I had the first problem and left the bottom dashboard opened with the entire air bag hanging out of it.
Until today, February 6, 2012, they are supposedly going to fix that issue, so we will see if they did tomorrow when we pick up the van. One of the service people also made rude and derogatory comments about my wife's weight when we asked about getting a bigger rental vehicle after they said that first time that they would have the vehicle for a few days. He called her fat and said she would need a shoehorn to get her into the car that they had available. This was very hurtful towards my wife's feelings and self-esteem. They are getting away with inflating the prices of the vehicles that they are selling that have very high mileage on them and mostly have all had service repair issues on them. I was told that the vehicle we have had 25 Carfax issues on it. I am not sure if it does or not, but the person who looked it up stated this to us. If my vehicle was up to standards like they say it was, then why in the first week did the gearshift fall completely out on my hand? They have a license to inspect their own vehicles and I believe they slap stickers on their own cars without doing any repairs at all to them.
Clearly, something is wrong if my gearshift fell out of the entire steering wheel which was very dangerous. The rental centers were doing the same type of business practices by inflating the prices of the products and ripping people off. JD Byrider claims to have a track record of 94% satisfaction. I would love to see if this is truly accurate because just sitting inside their waiting area, I myself heard many customers complaining about the same things that I was. Please help me. This is highway robbery and it's illegal. I have a vehicle that is a lemon and had nothing but problems and JD Byrider is not doing anything satisfactory to help me. I wanted to turn it back in on a 2002 Chevy Express van. My family had grown and this vehicle suited my family. On the way home from the dealership, the check engine light came on and the vehicle started to run rough. Of course, this was a Saturday afternoon and the service department was gone. So, I called Monday to get the van back in to see what was wrong with it. Because JD says they have the best warranty ever you know, not! I took the van in and they said the catalytic converter was plugged up and that it was not covered under my warranty. They said the van had been sitting on their lot for a while and may just need driven. So they reset the check engine light and told me to drive it on the freeway to clear the exhaust out? If the light came back on, they would help me with half of the repair.
Of course it came back on, on the drive home. I drove it to an auto repair place and they put a scanner on it and said the O2 sensors needed to be replaced and there were low readings on the catalytic converters. They put the van up on a lift and noticed that the exhaust had more cuts and pieces and hacks in it than a 1,000 piece puzzle. The repair place said that the catalytic converters were replaced with straight pipes and the exhaust resonator was cut open and the insides were removed. I called JD Byrider back and they said that I must have done this to my van and they would not cover it! They would not sell a vehicle that wouldn't pass emissions. Then a couple days later, the radiator started to pour antifreeze all over my driveway. Okay, I was really getting upset now.
I fixed the radiator myself because, of course, it was not covered and this was the only car my family has. This was in July. I am still fighting with them to fix this problem. It's now almost December. The best part was a dealer called me from there the other day asking how my car was running. I said, "Are your kidding me?!" To me, this is pure harassment and this car has been nothing more than a financial hardship for me. Please keep me updated about any lawsuits happening in Georgia, please?!

I purchased a 2002 Chrysler Sebring from JD Byrider in May 2011. I was a first time car buyer and I was new to what was okay and acceptable in the car buyer field. In my first week of having the car, I had issues with the brakes and the doors coming off the hinges. I took the car back to get it fixed. The service center is horrible and they have the rudest people working there. Let’s fast forward - I made my payments on time and paid over $400 a month for a used vehicle and that itself was highway robbery. In April 2012, while driving in the highway, my car overheated and cut off. I get it towed to a shop and they tell me my engine has died completely.
I called JD Byrider to let them know and I was told that I still needed to make the payments and the engine was not covered in my warranty. I was upset because it had not even been a full year and I was out of $4000 and a car. I told them to come and get it because I am not paying a car payment and buying a new engine. Long story short, I was told it would be put on my credit as a repo and I would owe them money. That was wrong and the fact that I made my payments should have been enough for them to help me get a new engine. They are a horrible company and they need to stop using people. I would love to be in a class action suit.

I went to JD Byrider because I have bad credit. I was told I would not have a down payment and I got a down payment that I could not afford. The car started to run wrong. The check oil light came on a week after I had the vehicle. The fan motor started running hard. I checked it out and there was no radiator cap, the antifreeze/coolant container was empty. Now, all this was discovered when my roommate heard the fan motor run. I would never have checked these things, I would have driven the vehicle and would have blown the engine up. They repossessed the vehicle, because I didn't have insurance. If I would have known, I would have gotten insurance, maybe, but not now. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I want out from that car. I don't want it anymore. They can sell it or whatever. I wish more consumers would file complaints with the Better Business Bureau or join someone who has gone to the Attorney General and do a class action lawsuit.

I purchased a 2004 Nissan Sentra from JD Byrider on 03/19/2011. I brought the car back to the dealership 26 days after the purchase complaining about it not starting properly and giving me problems. The store manager sent me to their auto body shop Send a Friend Auto Care on 04/04/12 who told me after 4 hours that they were unable to find anything wrong with the car, but they did make a note that I took it in within 30 days of purchase. I trusted that the car was okay like they said and left. I have continued to drive the car and make my biweekly payments on time.
On March 17, 2012, I took my car to O'Brien Toyota of Urbana for my oil change and and had the car checked over because it was having issues starting. O'Brien reported back to me that the check engine light bulb had been removed and the catalytic converter was bad. I immediately contacted Larry at JD Byrider and let him know what I was told. He was very apologetic and assured me that the issues would be addressed immediately by his store owner the next business day. I waited to hear a response back from the owner, Jay, on 3/19/12 but he never called me back. I then went in to speak to him in person. The owner, Jay, test drove my car for about 15 minutes assuring me the whole time that there was nothing wrong with this car and that if I agreed to have the car checked out by a guy he trusted, he would trade me into something I felt more safe in. He also stated numerous times he was going to fix the car up and put it right back on the lot because people love these cars that get low gas mileage. Jay told me I had to take the car into The Muffler Shop on 03/27/12 located at 1605 W Springfield ave. Champaign, IL, phone: 217-398-4070.
After keeping the car for 7.5 hours, the shop called me to tell me to pick the car up. I asked if he was able to figure anything out with the car and the technician told me he wasn't giving me any information about my car. Jay told him that he was not to tell me anything. I waited eight days after taking my car to The Muffler Shop for a response from Jay to one of my numerous phone calls. He did not respond to me so I went to see him in person on 04/04/12. I told Jay, the owner of the dealership, I was unhappy with the way I had been treated and that he illegally sold me a car that did not pass Illinois State Emission requirements and I wanted my money back. Jay told me the best he could do was pay for a new gauge cluster and half of the work for a new catalytic converter. I was willing to accept that solution considering the Nissan was not even salable to begin with.
I went back to The Muffler Shop on 04/05/12 with my Illinois vehicle registration card and driver's license telling them that I wanted the paperwork on my car from when he serviced it 03/27/12. He refused and said the only way he would give it to me was if I repaid him for all the time he spent on the car. I refused because he had already been paid by JD Byrider. The same day, 04/05/12, I went to to JD Byrider's auto shop, Send a Friend, to get see if they had any paperwork on the Nissan from when I brought it in in 2011. They gave me documentation that was not previously given to me stating that on 04/04/11, they had documented a PO420 code for catalyst efficiency low, DTC list for transmission say TPS and the service engine light soon does not work. These issues were never told to me or resolved. He also printed me out a work order for everything that was wrong with the car, and the receipt where nothing was done about it.
I unknowingly purchased a tampered with car, and the owner of the dealership illegally sold me the car. After letting the owner know on 04/05/12 that I no longer wanted to do business with him and either wanted my money back or the rest of the contract price forgiven, he said he was no longer going to argue with me about it, and then told my father and I to leave his store and that he would see me in court. I have since filed a consumer complaint with the Attorney General. Their response to the Attorney General was that they didn't know anything was wrong with the car, and it was my fault.

I had taken my car to J.D. Byrider's on McKnight Road. Their service is great and so are the people, but there is no fixing. The engine light was flashing, the car sounds like a truck, runs really rough, jerks a lot like the transmission is bad. All I am asking from this company is to put me in a better running car that I can rely on to get to work and not have to worry a lot. This car is in bad shape and I have taken good care of it. I did talk to an attorney and I really don't want to take them on West Liberty to court, but they are leaving me no option. They refuse to put me in another car. My payments are on time and up to date, never missed. I talked to them and they won't take this car off me to satisfy the customer. I will go to court because it's not fair to drive a rough car that has been in the shop over seven times in a year and a month's time and still not resolved. What do you suggest before I go forward?

I purchased a 2001 Ford Taurus from JD Byrider in January 2011. First question, why can't I purchase the car I want? And why can't they share the price of a car with you? Each time I asked about a car I was interested in, I was given some crappy excuse. After a couple of weeks, the transmission went up. They replaced it and it went up again. They charged me $90 and I felt that I should not have had to pay for something they replaced. Another week and the whole front windshield caved in. Another week without a car! Then the brake system had a leak in it, and I am still having transmission problems! After they replaced the brake system, the car started smoking and burning. Five different mechanics have called my car a death trap and said I need to get out of it. They also gave me that fake car report showing that the car was in very good condition.
Well! When I paid $40 for the Carfax, my car had been in two accidents, the last one just 6 months prior to my purchase. JD Byrider ought to be ashamed of themselves for putting people's lives in danger. My job is 30 minutes away. I can't trust my life in this can, not to mention the heat nor air conditioner works! So blown over this, I don't know what to do. I am actually afraid when I drive this car but I have to work. Oh, they told me to keep the car for a year and then trade it. No other dealership wants to trade the car because of the amount I owe and because it's in bad shape!

I purchased my car from this dealer almost two years ago and have had nothing but repair problems. My brakes have been giving trouble since day one and I have been told there was nothing wrong with them. I have had to have the air fixed, there was something wrong with a sensor and some other things I cannot remember. I have all the receipts, etc. Now the radiator blew and I have been told it will cost me $300+ to fix because it is considered cosmetic. I am sorry, but without the radiator, the car does not function so how is that cosmetic? This repair should be considered under the warranty. I have had to fight this garage at this location about repairs before and I will not do it again. They had me sign a waiver against suing them, then I got the car but they had me over a barrel because I needed a car and they were the only ones that would sell me one with my credit the way it was and the money I had to take it off the lot.
I feel they take advantage of people who are desperate and have no choice, but to go to them. I don't see how they can do that to someone who does not have much money to start. I know they are not the only dealer that does this, but I live on one income and do not have money to be shelling out a lot of money on car repairs that I feel should not be my costs when the car should have been thoroughly checked out when I drove her off the lot. I was actually told by one of the sales reps that they have had nothing but problems with the company who is in charge of the repair shop for a long time now.
I think it is time to change companies don't you? I mean you are ripping off the people you are doing business with. I will never recommend to anyone to buy a car from this company. I am angry, hurt and very upset that this kind of thing can actually happen. I do not have 300 dollars to pay for something that makes the car run. It is not cosmetic! This company is awful!

I was told to schedule a service appointment. The service manager told me it was probably something minor like a loose gas cap. I scheduled service and lost a day's pay by not having a car.
When I picked the car up, I was told everything was fine. Two days later, the check engine light came back on again. I took the car to a reputable mechanic, who had to replace a knock sensor. I purchased the car in May, and as the weather began to warm, I turned on the a/c. All I got was warm air. It was not due to a lack of Freon, but the a/c was broken.
On 3/23/12, the car shut down while I was driving it, and the check engine light began flashing. I had the car towed to a reputable mechanic, who identified a myriad of faults. My repair bill will exceed $1200. I can't afford that. My car rental fee is already over $200. I'll have to return the rental. This could cost me my job. I was told that every car sold undergoes a rigorous inspection. I would like to know how all of these faults were not detected? Am I losing sleep over this ordeal? You bet.

My checks were only like $400 every two weeks and I had to pay $188.37 every two weeks. But I paid it (on time) because I needed a car to get back and forth from work. They sold me a 2000 Chevy Lumina that was worth around $3000. Well, they charged me $11,002.85 for the car. Once everything was added up my total was $18,903.52. I made my payments on time every two weeks of $188.37 faithfully. In September 2011 I was in a bad car wreck with some dumb boy who ran the red light. My car was a total lost. Once the value of my car was paid off I still owed $5,000. JD Byrider wanted me to still make my regular payments on a car I was not driving anymore. That was insane. There was no way I could save for a car with only $30 being off my payments. I have been having trouble getting another car. I purchased a car from JD Byrider because I needed a car for work. Two days after I purchased the car, the check engine light came on and it stalls at stop lights. The door locks don't work. I purchased the car on Saturday, and called them Monday afternoon. I called the sales person and told them about the problem. He said he knew of the door locks not working because when he prepped the car for me, he couldn't unlock the door either, yet he did not say a word until after I took delivery - very intentional.
As far as the check engine light, I would have to schedule an appointment to get it fixed, that means for me taking a day off work and paying a co-pay, however they were booked 3 weeks out. Then after the first of the year I was having issues with my employer and getting my paycheck, and told them that asked them to work with me on the payments until I can get things straightened out. OMG! They called me everyday 3 and 4 times a day with threatening phone calls. They had me so upset and scared they told me to borrow the money from someone to make the payment or else.
I took a day off work to do so, with no progress. The next day, again they called 3 and 4 times, I was so stressed out and couldn't think straight, I made many mistakes at work and became inches away of losing my job. After that, things have been off with my employer. I had to go out and get a part-time job to compensate. Now I have had the car 2 months, I'm down 1 payment of approx $180.00 5 days late and they told me to bring the car back, I asked if they would work with me a few days until I can come up with the money, they said no, to bring the car back.
So now I am with $1500 down payment and 1 payment of approx $180.00. Almost $1,700.00 out of my pocket and I have to take the car back ASAP. And there are other promises they made and never fulfilled. This has scam written all over it. They have my $1,700 and the car I drove for 2 months that they took back and will sell all over again and probably do the same thing to someone else.

Well, we went to start my car at the dealership, the battery wouldn't, was dead (new battery got in Jan) so he charged the battery. We drove home, all the lights were on again, the steering pump was making noises (like it was struggling, so once again I called Mike, never got back to me then called service set up appointment a week later again, so Thursday came that week and the battery died again, so we jump started it and the alternator started smoking and the cord to jumper cable wires felt like jelly. We stopped trying to jump it to soothe. I called mike and no response again.
I called CFO again, no response. Then I called CFO today and asked to speak with the attorney I spoke to before.
