I own a 2010 Honda Accord coupe EX. This is now the second time the rear driver side quarter panel has cracked. My assumption is because of the quality of the rear quarter panel, material of it, and the cold weather. Both times the quarter panel has cracked, it has started out about an inch and then grew to four or five inches. Same spot both times. The first instance the entire quarter panel was replaced by a Honda dealer. I'm now waiting on my insurance company to determine if this was a defect in the repair. I think Honda needs to take ownership as this has to be a common problem with these model Accords. I find it hard to believe that this is now the second quarter panel and has cracked in the same spot again. Seems like a defect and a recall needed from Honda.

34,000 KM and I need new rear brakes and told by dealership and Honda Canada no warranty. Googled brake problems and I found that rear brakes is a common Honda problem. I have owned 5 Hondas. This is the last one.

There is an ignition switch recall - Same make, Same model, Same year as my Honda Civic, but they will not repair my ignition switch because my VIN doesn't match the recalled VINs, even though they have the diagnostic from the Honda tech saying that it IS, in fact, faulty and needs to be changed to avoid further DYING in the middle of a busy intersection or interstate! When I contacted American Honda, they told me that it was just "Coincidental" and even DENIED that that was the case until I had PAPERS showing that it was from their very own technicians! Jerks.

I sold my 2008 Accord, brake and engine issues with no response from HONDA. Also the well known 2006 Civic with all of its problems. God this car was a disaster and I ended up on the losing of that deal... I'm so angry with Honda that I sold both cars, my VTX 1200 motorcycle and my 3500psi pressure washer. I'll never purchase another HONDA product... Terrible customer service and they no longer back their products... This is one time you don't get what you pay for!

2014 Honda Crosstour - After 3 months the driver door trim started peeling. I took it to dealership, they replaced it. After 1 1/2 months it has started again. As a goodwill gesture they will replace it one more time. I talked to customer service at Honda and they say its not a defect even though they see it happening on other Hondas.

I have to say that I was told that the Honda Accord was the car to get for reliability, value and performance. I bought the EX v-6 and soon found out that the front brakes are choppy every time you stop going over 30 miles per hour. Then the engine misfired at 43000 miles. That was the 2 cylinder that was later covered under the legal settlement with Honda, but my 5th cylinder misfired at 69000 miles and that was not covered. You are only covered for the first 4 cylinders and that really irked me because it cost 300 bucks for a new coil and spark plug. I am quite angry with Honda on this misfire issue and they seem to be ignoring what a real problem it is.

Recently someone I know went to a Honda Dealership in Texas for a Honda recall regarding an airbag. He dropped off the car. Later the service department stated it was completely repaired and safe to drive as usual. While driving that week, without warning the airbag exploded into his face causing him to lose control. As a result of the accident he was injured. Honda has been informed and apparently wants to pay him to fix his car some place else. Of course he no longer trusts Honda. Has anyone else had an experience of a grossly negligent repair?

In this sea of negativity, keep in mind that this site is going to be skewed towards those coming here to complain about problems. Venting is understandable. I've owned unreliable cars in the past. That being said, none of my problem cars have been Hondas. I've owned Acuras and Hondas, and others in my family have Hondas as well and none of us have experienced problems at all. And we're glad for that because that's the #1 reason we chose the manufacturer. Honda is KNOWN for reliability and low cost of ownership and their reputation is built on it.
I purchased a 2007 Civic EX w/ Nav back in 2010. Got it for a great price and it's been nothing but dead reliable. The only thing I've had to do is brakes and new tires, all around at 75k miles. Otherwise, it's been typical oil changes and fluid top offs. I've taken the car from Texas to California and back on a road trip. Again, no problems. I'm currently sitting at about 90k miles. The only real issue that I take is cosmetic. The front, passenger side fender/bumper, where the bumper meets the wheel well, always comes unhooked and pops out about a half an inch. I have to bump it back into place with the bottom of my fist from time to time. That's really it. All the electronics work perfectly and it always starts and runs fine.

Shortly After purchasing a new Honda accord sport model we noticed issues with the bluetooth so we had the dealer look at it and said there was nothing wrong with it and gave it back. The road noise makes talking via Bluetooth nearly impossible. So we brought it back again and after arguing with the manager they decided they would replace the microphone. After a week we picked up the car and microphone is still having the same issues, by now we had problems with the system disconnecting during a phone call. So after only owning this brand new car for just 3 months we bring it back for the 3rd time, and yet again the manager basically calls us a liar so we show him personally.
They decide to replace the unit with a remanufactured unit after yet another week we get our brand new car back . Well now the new unit makes the whole system freeze up radio/bluetooth. So finally we call Honda's corporate offices and they basically tell us they never heard of this issue we are having. So they tell us to bring the car back to the dealer and get the issue fixed and not to take the car back until completely satisfied with it. So we get it back to the dealer for a 4th time. They now tell us that they can flash the system with a update to fix the problem of freezing up. But there is still no fix for the original problem we came in with which is not being able to talk over the road noise on hands-free mode.
So after all the headaches and arguing and wasting of our time off of work to bring the car to get it fixed we are back to square one. When we went to buy a new car we did so to avoid time consuming issues that are not normally common while buying a brand new car. So after all the headaches and anger trying to get this issue fixed nothing has been done. I swear I will never buy a new car from Honda again after the issues we had and they way we were treated.

The dealer had no clue why the paint on a pearl white paint was discolored and peeling. After further investigation, the manufacturer came clean as to a problem at the factory. They refused to repaint the entire car. Well, anytime you damage pearl paint, the entire car must be shot. They caused $6000 dollars worth of damage just to the paint, in touching up the car over the clear coat. This car in the condition sold, should have been disclosed and discounted. And if accepted by consumer closes deal. Without disclosure is fraudulent.

My 2008 Honda Civic has an ongoing problem with peeling and flaking paint. The recall did cover the cost of repainting the trunk, roof and hood. However Honda will not cover the cost to repaint the passenger side of the car around the windows. This paint is the worst area on the car. My dealer said it is not covered by the recall and want me to pay part of the expense. I think Honda should be responsible for making the car whole without any cost to me.

We are leasing a brand new Honda Accord - 5 months old. The paint bubbles up all over the hood and sides of car - after bubbling up, it will chip off - then it appears as "stone chips" as we were told by Honda managers. We waited for over 3 weeks for a response... Stone does not cause paint to bubble up and chip off. Pictures have been taken, but does not show the "real thing". A visual inspection was made by one Honda district manager and owner of dealership - it was wrote off as stone chips. It's horrible - all over the front. Our 2003 Honda Accord was in better condition than our new one.
The customer representative 3,000 miles away from Honda had her mind made up along with Honda reps before it was even investigated. Next step - go to a professional collision/paint representative for our own assessment - legal counseling? We don't know... but we will not give up. It's a lot of money to spend leasing a brand new car and have the paint chip off. Stones do NOT cause bubbling of paint!! We are totally done with Honda - we always swore by Honda... Now we can't wait till our lease is up!! We were told paint chips aren't covered by warranty... which we understand... but this is paint chipping off and bubbling up of paint... The paint actually lifts up and then chips off... Pictures do not show the significance of the problem.

Honda messed up my hood; so sad... After this extended paint job done by them, within one or 2 weeks, I notice paint chipping so easily and they say they can't do nothing. It's due to highway driving... Normal?? I had this car on road a long time before and not had chips like this before... I contact Honda and yep, pretty much screwed... Now I have to buy a whole new hood and side fenders or try to fix... This was last year now... It's even in worst shape ever....

VSA warning light came on in my 2009 Honda Accord. Dealership said perfectly fine to drive, just a warning light. Next day I had to have my car towed to the dealer. They are telling me 4 timing teeth stripped off $980 and 4 bent valves which they can give me NO cost for except if they can't fix/replace the valves I am looking at $4000 for a new head. Mind you I have owned and perfectly maintained this car at the same dealer since brand new and the timing belt has 84000 miles now and it's not recommended to change until 105000 miles. The dealer doesn't care and I started a case with American Honda and they care EVEN LESS... HONDA IS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

I bought a new 2013 Honda Ridgeline at a dealership. Once I hit 1200 miles, the vehicle would not start after sitting for one or more days. I took it to the Honda dealership that I purchased it at in Uniontown, PA and was told nothing was wrong. One week later, the problem happened again and I again took back to the Honda dealer in Uniontown. Once again I was told they could not find the issue. The not starting had occurred approximately 5 more times. On the fifth time, I called the dealer and Honda customer service. I was told to have the vehicle towed at my expense and it was suggested that I was making the issue up and that I may be experiencing buyer's remorse.
Honda customer service advised me to take it to a different Honda dealer since I was unhappy with the outcome. I obliged and took the Ridgeline to the second dealer to be told that I had a defective battery. The battery was replaced and I went on my way. Two weeks later, the problem of the vehicle not starting happened again. I took the vehicle to the second dealer again. They ran a parasitic draw test and could not find the issue. They changed the battery again and sent me on my way. Three weeks later, the problem persisted and back to the Honda dealer. They said the battery, the third one, had been significantly drained and charged it. This did not fix the problem.
When the problem persisted, I took the vehicle back to Honda. I asked the service manager to try something different because what they had been doing did not work. He stated that since the parasitic draw test could not find a draw on the battery that Honda would not authorize any additional test or repairs. I personally called the Honda customer service line and spoke with a regional rep who proceeded to tell me he did not have time to discuss. I asked for another representative and was told that there was not anyone else to speak to. I asked for his manager and explained that I had plenty of questions that I would like answers to. He told me that he did not have a supervisor. I questioned him on this, doubting his integrity, until he confirmed that he did have a supervisor, but he would not connect me to her or give me her direct contact information. I then asked what steps he was going to take to help me.
He said that he was going to contact the service manager at Honda and discuss. I requested a conference call with the three of us and he said that he did not have the capabilities to do so. I advised that my cell phone had these capabilities and I would do the call from my end. At this point, he agreed to do the conference call from his end. He proceeded to tell the service manager that I would be bringing the Ridgeline in the next day, which all three of us had already known, got a bad attitude, said he was "done with this", and disconnected the line.
The next day I received a call from an unavailable number that turned out to be a different regional manager from Honda. This person proceeded to tell me that I had to work with the original regional manager and vaguely gave me answers to the five or six inquiries that I had. I asked if if I could have a different case manager because the first one was deceitful and she advised that she did not feel that he had lied on three different occasions and that I had to work with him.
My vehicle is currently at the dealership and I am awaiting the outcome. I have record of my Honda Ridgeline being at the Honda garage on 11 occasions for the same issue. I also have notated dates on 8 other instances when the vehicle did not start that I did not take it to the shop. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with Honda, the dealership in Uniontown, PA, and the Honda customer service department. The service manager at that second dealership in Richeyville, PA has been very nice and empathetic to me, and has stated that he is doing everything in his power to help me, but his hand seem to be tied back to Honda for he cannot do any repairs without the proper authorizations.

I bought a beautiful 2008 Honda Accord in May 2008. Brand new. 7 miles on the odometer. I also purchased the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty. My car now registers 91,000 miles. I bought the car in Los Gatos, CA. at the dealership. I lived in Los Gatos, CA. A few months afterwards the dealership closed and now I am expected to drive all the way over to Fremont, CA. I chose Stevens Creek Honda in San Jose, CA.Every oil change, new tires, maintenance was done there. And a year ago I moved to Ventura, CA.
Now I have to choose a new dealership to change the oil, etc. so I chose DCH Honda of Oxnard, CA. From the start I have had issues with them. I am in the process of another Oil Consumption test. I found out that that, and the brakes, are the number 1 complaint on the 2008 Accord. At 43,000 miles Stevens Creek Honda installed the oil consumption software. My car is using oil. The life of the oil has nothing to do with the amount of oil that is in the car. My Life oil usage stated I had 90% but the oil dip stick doesn't even register the oil. I had only put 850 miles on the car. This nonsense has been going on for over a year. I wear a dress, I am not at liberty to constantly check the oil.
Plus, I have owned three other Hondas and NEVER had this problem with a car or a dealership. I called to have the oil changed at 40% oil life and they told me not to change the oil because Honda doesn't recommend it! Oh Please! If I want to change the oil, let me! Three times I have been to the dealership to complain. The repair manager, **, tells me my car is fine. They have been putting a lighter weight oil in the car, the oil cap clearly states a specific weight oil. What is that about? I am no genius but the obvious is there. The lighter weight oil is leaking through the piston o-rings. I need an ring job. I was told by my service advisor that they had an abundance of the lighter oil and that is why they are using it. They are telling me that they are adjusting the valves and putting in the recommended oil, and the car should be fine. The car is at 91,000 miles. If I need a ring job later, after my warranty has expired, I will be out thousands of dollars!

A week ago, I had a good experience with Honda sales which included a Salesman patiently pairing my phone with the Bluetooth. A week after the connection kept breaking which was verified by the salesman. He tried to connect his own phone to my Bluetooth and was unable to do so. Subsequently another salesman tried another phone which he was able to connect. The second salesman went into the service department to see if he could get any help at which time the Service Manager informed him that Honda does not support the (originally Sprint) Virgin Mobile service and showed him the Honda Canadian Website. I wrote to the Sales Manager, explaining that: 1) I was never informed that the Bluetooth was only available with certain providers, 2) My phone had worked for a week, 3) Another salesman was not able to pair his phone either and 4) My phone clearly recognizes the Honda Bluetooth even though the Honda Bluetooth has stopped recognizing my phone. I need to be helped. Have not heard back from him. Please help. Thanks.

I am the first owner of my 2011 Honda Si, currently at 61,000 miles. I've been having issues with my 3rd gear. Occasionally when shifting into 3rd, my gear would pop out of place and cause a grind noise. There are times when shifting into 3rd gear feels really stiff. I really hope Honda will investigate into this issue.

I bought a 2013 Honda CRV. The battery would drain after 2-3 days of sitting idle. I got it checked repeatedly at the Honda service department when I bought the vehicle. They kept saying the parasitic draw was within specification, and to disconnect the battery cables if it was going to sit for more than 2 days. So each time I park the car on a Sunday and don't move again until Friday (I walk to work), I have to disconnect the cables, or use a solar charger (I park underground heated parking at my condo). They said it was fine and just to drive it more, for 1.5 hrs at a time every couple days to charge up the battery.
Ridiculous! I own two other vehicles (different brands) and they can sit for a couple weeks and start no problem. Never had this before, and have since heard it is common on Honda's. I traded it in for a different vehicle and will never buy a Honda again. Honda Canada customer department refused to acknowledge the problem, as did the dealership.

I got transmission fluid replace at Ed Voyles Honda service center on 11/6/2012 on their recommendation. On 9/4/2013, I visited same service station and they recommended for replacing my transmission system. Looks like they goofed up something and that damaged automatic transmission. How to get them fix it?

I own a 2008 Honda Ridgeline that is at about 60,000 miles. I have taken especially good care of this vehicle with regular maintenance updates. Overall, other than the poor gas mileage (best is 20 mpg on highway), it has been a good vehicle. The problem is that two exhaust sensors have had to be replaced already at a cost almost $1,000.00, not to mention waiting at the Wilde Honda Dealership in Sarasota, Florida for many hours at a time. I can't imagine why the sensors have gone out already, and the incredible costs they have incurred. Honda has a reputation for build quality. Unfortunately when they do need repairs, the cost is an arm and a leg. Just FYI my other car, a 2010 Ford Flex has and still is running relatively problem free at 85,000 miles so far.

Steering locking up for a while then no power steering and blown fuse. Took to Honda dealer. He replaced fuse. Rode it for a while like 5 min., said it was alright. Got home, rode about 1/2 mile, it did the same. This is three weeks ago. Still no ATV to ride. Now I find out that there might be a recall on it. The dealer says he knows nothing, that it may not have a recall on this one. It is 2008 Foreman. What is wrong with this picture? The steering locked up twice. I don't know if I could put trust in Honda again after this. This is the third Honda in 12 years.

I wrote a complaint before about an issue I had with the Honda dealer as they did not fix a defect in my driver's side seat belt. I emailed the problem to the manager of this dealership, and he offered to replace the part that did not work. After a week they fixed the problem. This manager, Steve, has always been quite efficient in dealing with issues in the past also.

I recently purchased a $30 Honda shirt (Made in Taiwan) from the apparel store. After one wear, the material was easily altered (for better lack of term). I returned it, received an in store credit and immediately used the credit, added $30 to that, and purchased what I thought to be a "Quality" $60 Honda Jersey. At the time I did not realize it was also made in Taiwan! No tag, only a plastic "Made in Taiwan" stamp inside! Well customer service refused to accept the return because supposedly there was no manager in store. On my way out, the salesman & I talked and he was able to talk with someone who the cashiers could not talk to, and the salesman offered me a $25 in-store credit! I basically refused, and he was surprised because he said it's usually not hard to give away $25! Without him realizing, I didn't want to give away $35 (the difference of what I paid)! I left the store, left the jersey in the parking lot and will never visit the store again! I purchased a $7K bike (cash), I purchased other apparel, accessories, gifts, helmets, even $149 boots a month ago. I felt good to be a loyal customer but too bad I didn't get the same loyalty! I was so mad I was in tears! Oh well, no more tears over Dreyer as I will shop elsewhere!

My wife and I were car shopping yesterday to replace her 2000 Honda Accord V6 EX model. We drove a new 4 cylinder Accord - interior and gadgets were nice but the car would surge between 5-25 mph. The salesman said he never noticed it before so we drove another one - same thing; they surge. We bought a new Nissan Altima. It was everything a new car should be.

I bought a brand new Honda Civic 2012 hoping that it would give me no trouble. In the Summer of 20012, the seat belt on the driver's side stopped working (it would not pull out and remain stuck) during hot afternoons. I had to stay in the parking lot and let the A/C run for about 5 minutes until the seat belt starts working. I took the car to Barber Honda dealership, where I bought the car, and they could not find anything wrong with the seat belt. When the Summer was over, the seat belt started working well. In the Summer of 2013, the seat belt started giving trouble again, this time worse than the last time. One day I had to drive home from work without wearing a seat belt as it would not work at all.
I called the dealership and explained the situation and they asked me to bring the car again and gave an appointment on Saturday. I took the car but, they did not even look at the seat belt but told me to bring it on a weekday again as they have to call another phone number to find out what is wrong as the previous time their mechanics could not find anything wrong. This was okay as they were trying to get help from outside resources if their mechanics can not resolve the problem again. So, I took another day off from work and took the car to the dealership. This time they looked at it and still could not find anything wrong. They also did not want to call the outside resources that might know how to diagnose the problem. I asked them what I should do since there is a problem with the seat belt whether their mechanics can find it or not. The service representative became rude as I continued to ask for a solution.
I called the Honda toll free number to express my concern. That customer service representative also showed no efficiency at work and was no help. I was disappointed at the whole experience. When things go well, they act very nice, but when things go wrong they show a different attitude. So, I am stuck with a brand new Honda with a seat belt that does not work on hot afternoons. The only person I was impressed at Honda today is the nice gentleman, the driver of the Honda shuttle, who gave me a ride home while my car was left at the dealership.

I have taken Activa veh. from a Shreeji auto and on invoice copy, the dealer name is Venetian Honda. This is my third complaint on website but till yet I have not rec'd the complaint, neither the Veh. registration nor from dealer. This is just a pathetic service Honda gives. Due to my last mail, I had gotten a call from Honda customer care and also from Venetian Honda but still no resolution. The Honda gives just a ** service. I want the resolution as early as possible. A Shreeji auto dealer informed me that you'll have given the complaint to Honda so now only Honda would give you the registration no. If I don't get the veh. no. so what I'll do of this bloody ** vehicle. Once you get my details, request you to contact me on earliest and provide me a valid mail id to complain to the higher authority of Honda or else I would have to move to consumer court.

I have a three-month-old 2013 Honda Odyssey (bought in May 2013). Never had any problems prior (second Odyssey we have owned). But on this particular Saturday, I was about to leave in the vehicle, and I found the driver's window shattered, with about half the glass in the car and the other half on the ground by the door. It had been rolled up completely and the temp was around 90 that day... so nothing unusual. I had just walked by the car (on my driveway) and it was fine. Then a few moments later it was busted. No one around, no object in the car...nothing.
So we took pictures then went to clean the glass up and covered the window until we could take it to the local dealer on Monday. After they inspected it, they announced they could not do anything as it did not appear to be a defect. I was told to contact Honda Corp which we did. After 24 hours to review, we got the same reply. The Warranty states clearly that broken, cracked or chipped glass is not covered unless manufacturing defect. However, upon further investigation, I found many others online who this happened to... and as recent as 2011, Honda recalled 2,800 vans for just this reason.
On the NHTSA site, it states that "the window may shatter into passenger cabin causing a risk of injury". So I am disappointed that I got such a cold shoulder from Honda dealer and Corp, as I WAS a satisfied customer. If I had accidentally broken this window...no sweat. I have $600 to replace it and I am not a complainer. But I am worried this problem has not been corrected and this could happen to someone that could put them in jeopardy. So I wanted to get my story out there. I hope I am the last one.

My wife and I bought this vehicle brand new. After the first 2000 miles, the tires were transmitting the street vibration into the cab. It was so loud that you can't carry a normal conversation. Furthermore the vehicle develops a weird action that stalls the engine when you try to accelerate to pass another vehicle. In both cases, we took the car to the dealership and they did nothing claiming that the diagnostic machine found nothing. Nevertheless we end up replacing the car for a 2013 Toyota Camry SE. It's quiet as a church mouse and has an excellent acceleration. Goodbye forever, Honda!!

Honda had a recall on their power steering hose because these leaked. Mine actually developed a leak so bad that the fluid leaked onto the exhaust and created so much smoke that my wife thought the car was on fire (she was driving it alone). She did make it home and I let it cool down and checked the situation. All of the fluid had leaked out and after refilling it, the power steering pump made a terrible noise. We got Honda to replace the hose under the recall but they refused to replace the pump because they said that after the 36,000-mile warranty... too bad basically. They seemed to agree that the faulty hose caused the fluid to all leak out which in turn ruined the pump but refused to cover it. We were thinking of buying a new Accord until this. If they admit to making a crappy part, they should cover everything that is damaged by that part.

I have owned Honda cars for over 28 years and have been very happy with them but I feel a need to mention one concern I have with Honda cars - the body frame. I admit that I hold onto your vehicle for a long time since they perform so well but each time I have had to replace my car, it is due to the body frame rusting out, never the engine. It is frustrating to have the engine performing like a champ but the body giving out.

The interior in the car is supposed to be leather. That's what the company says. The interior is not leather - it is ripping. The seats are all worn too. Too worn my car is a 2009. My warranty is up and the dealer says I'm responsible for paying for this. How is that right?! It's their faulty interior and I have to pay. I have several friends who are having the same problem, so it's not just my car. This is a nationwide problem and Honda refuses to do anything about it. I bought a Honda because I thought I would get a good quality vehicle. That is not the case.

I went to a Honda dealer local in Jefferson City, MO on Monday, April 29th, in the evening to look at new Honda Accords. We could not come up with an agreement for $16,000 that was offered for my 2012 Accord from a local Kia car dealer. I asked for the keys to my used 2012 Accord back from the used car manager. He refused to hand the keys back over to me. At this point, I was very loud and demanded my keys back stating I could not deal with him on a new 2013 new Accord and wanted to leave. He asked me to sit down. I refused then he kept badgering me till I finally signed paperwork on a new 2013 Accord. By this time, 8:45 pm, almost an hour after the dealership already closed, I signed paperwork for a new car.
I did not even drive the new car off the lot of the dealership. I slept very poorly that evening! I went to the Honda dealership as soon as they opened that morning, Tuesday April 30th, and tried my very best to explain that I felt that I was rushed/forced to buy that car that night and wanted to pay for any and all paperwork cost that was created on my behalf. The used car manager then proceeded to tell me that it was a done deal and I had already bought the new Accord keeping in mind I never even had time or a chance to drive the car. I offered $500 or whatever it took to reverse the paperwork. The manager stated all the paperwork was already turned in and I now owned the car and there was nothing I can do about it. The new car still sits at the dealer.
I told them not to pre-deliver it or install any of the options that were wanted. They refused to comply so then I contacted my attorney to ask for legal help in the matter. Please note this is the 5th new car I have bought from this dealer so I have been a loyal Honda customer to Honda and the Honda dealership. Right now, I am worried about my near perfect credit score as a result from this mess. I am very angry at the high pressure sales and lack of cooperation from this dealership even when I never drove the new car and I am willing to pay for any and all inconvenience. This has been a very bad experience and I would highly recommend going to another dealership.

I bought a brand new 2008 Honda Accord that I'm still paying for it. My complaint is that the leather on the armrest on both doors are peeling off! Also the leather in the middle console has also peeled off and I paid to replace it. The carpet on the passenger side is also defective. I took it to the dealer to complain about it. They said they fixed it, but it still comes out of its place.

I purchased a 2013 Honda Accord Sport from Port Charlotte Honda Volkswagen and took delivery on October 1, 2012. While I am very pleased with the vehicle in general, an issue has arisen that is now making me have doubts about the quality of your vehicles. About a month after having the car, while driving on the highway, I noticed that there was excessive wind noise in the cabin and that the issue was originating from the front windows when at speeds of 70 mph and over. Due to my hectic work schedule, I was not able to schedule an appointment for service immediately but did so eventually and had an appointment for an oil change and the wind noise issue addressed at the Port Charlotte Honda Volkswagen dealership service department.
My service advisor was not aware of the issue prior to me dropping the car off because of how new the car is. Prior to making my appointment, I had researched the issue on various Honda forums and found that several other 2013 Honda Accord owners were experiencing the same issue. After much research, I found that Honda had issued the following: TSB A13-010 - Wind Noise at the Drivers or Front Passengers Window: 2013 Accord 4-Door L4 From VIN 1HGCR2, DA000001 through 1HGCR2, DA035705; 2013 Accord 4-Door V6 From VIN 1HGCR3F, DA000001 through 1HGCR3F, DA007274.
My service advisor was able to locate the TSB and I was excited to hear that the issue would be resolved. However, after picking the car up later that day, I found that the problem was still there. I immediately called my service advisor, who was absolutely great, and informed him that the issue was still there. He requested that I bring the car back in to have the shop foreman have another look at it. I did as requested and the shop foreman and I took a drive together and he acknowledged that the problem was still there. We also test drove a new one off the lot for comparison and found that it too had wind noise in the front of the cabin, just not as severe as mine. He informed me that he did as the TSB directed and that he does not know what else he can do at this point. He was very understanding and very apologetic and I appreciated that.
At that point, I became very discouraged but still hopeful that a new fix would be issued. However, there has been none to date and I feel at times that the noise is increasing. It has gotten to the point that when I am on the highway, I am not able to use my Bluetooth feature because folks on the other end complain of not being able to hear me. I am embarrassed to take people in my car because of the noise. I normally have to turn the radio volume up just to drown out the sound when my frustration sets in. This is my third Honda Accord but first brand new one. Prior to purchasing this particular car, I had owned two brand new BMWs and never had to deal with this sort of quality issue.
Now, I'm not comparing the two cars because pricing makes the two makes completely different. However, I feel that brand new cars should have quiet cabins and that is a selling point that Honda uses to encourage and promote sales. Incidentally, due to certain finance issues, I had to finance an additional $4k on top of MSRP due to banking charges, which makes this matter even more frustrating because I am paying much more for the car overall.
I requested that Honda open a case and extend itself as much as possible to assist me in addressing this issue in any way that is fair. I also feel that I should be compensated for what I've had to endure for these past 6 months. I pay $617.78 a month for the note on the car and have done so for the past 5 months which equals $3,088.90. While I'm not expecting Honda to reimburse me that amount, I feel that out of fairness, Honda should extend itself to have the issue addressed correctly and reimburse me some of that because the product was not issued as advertised and at this point, I am stuck with the car since a trade in of this vehicle for something else would yield such negative equity that I would be too far in the hole.
On 03/12/2013, I finally got a call back from Honda Motor Co. and according to the case manager, after speaking to the dealership regarding the 2013 Honda Accord, the wind noise is a "characteristic of the vehicle". I requested that they provide that to me in writing, so that I can further pursue the issue and they refused to put that in writing. It appears to me that they are trying to not acknowledge the issue because that would affect sales if more people knew about the issue prior to purchase.

A few years back on a cold February night, I was driving home as usual. I soon noticed a spark from the hood and realized that I should pull over. It took just about all my might to pull the car over into a parking lot. As soon as I exited the vehicle, I saw flames shooting out from the hood. I stood on the side of the road shocked at what I was seeing. Everything in my car was ruined - my workbag, a store return in my trunk and even my 1-year old son's car seat melted. We were at a loss on what to do next and did the normal procedure of calling our car insurance.
The initial inspection to see if it was a fire due to our negligence was done and a check for the value of the car was received. It would cost $7,000 to see the exact cause of the fire, which would have been at our expense and almost the whole value of the lost vehicle. Our precious Accord was our only vehicle and paying for rental cars was getting too expensive, so we decided we couldn't do the inspection and wanted to have this nightmare over with, only to be haunted by it later on. Our son is 4 now and we received a letter in the mail indicating a recall on our car to fix a defective power steering hose that can leak fluid and catch on fire. If you recall, I had to use all my might to pull the car over, which I assume that the power steering hose having a leak is very possible to be the cause of the fire.
We have contacted Honda's recall department and "Walter" was assigned to our case. Regardless of what happened (me almost being in the car while it was on fire), the car no longer exists so therefore, Honda doesn't care. Interesting enough in the same month, 3 years later, we passed a newer model Accord in almost the exact location with its hood on fire. And yet there is still only 1 reported car fire due to the recall. I honestly doubt that's the case and that there are many other victims. I am certainly angry!

This is in regard to the many engine problems that I have been facing since the purchase of my Aviator. Its battery went dead exactly the second day from purchase. It had to be hauled to the showroom where it was put right, and we were told that it will not give rise to any more problems. Three months and it stops flat on my way to college. Nothing would start it. I had to request a nearby mechanic who resolved the problem. It worked fine for another few months and on one outing with friends; it starts misfiring and stops dead on an uphill road. I had to haul it all the way back to the city and get it repaired. And as if it weren't enough, it always used to misfire from time to time. I got it to Hyderabad when I joined Wipro and came here to work.
It worked fine three months and then the self-start stopped working. I gave it to the showroom for a service and repair, and it was given back to me with assurance that nothing would go wrong. When I took it back again because the repaired self was still giving me trouble, the mechanic tinkered around a bit and it started working. I asked him to check if the bike needed an oil change or a service, and he denied. One fine day, the horn suddenly stopped working. On the way to the showroom, the bike suddenly stopped dead (The self was still not working, by the way!).
Another visit to the showroom and they say that the engine is damaged because there was no engine oil. And now, they tell me I should replace my engine and it will cost 12,000 rupees. If I sell my bike, I will get only 20,000 rupees. I had invested up to 60,000 rupees in the bike. And it has been just 2 years since its purchase. Even the loan on the bike is not yet cleared. What quality is this that hassles your customers so? I request you to kindly replace the bike and if that is not plausible, kindly do replace the engine, at least. If I had enough proofs, I would have certainly gone to the consumer court. Unfortunately, you got lucky there. I never thought buying my favorite bike would be so expensive.

2011 Honda Pilot - I was surprised to learn that my accelerator is controlled by a computer. Recently, the TP sensor was not working properly and the car had a mind of its own. I had no control over the car. The car took off ... power steering failed and brakes locked up. I was, thankfully, in my driveway. I can't believe this is not a warranty issue. Honda should replace my sensor for free. They just reset the sensor and charged me $126. I am trying to sell the car. I fear this will happen again soon. Please consider this situation.

In April 2012, I took my Honda Odyssey to be repaired at Lute Riley Honda in Richardson, Texas. I told them to do a multi-point inspection to find out what was wrong with my transmission and brakes. Upon completing the inspection I was told by Joseph, a mechanic there, that all he found was that the transmission switch needed to be replaced; the gasket, gear oil, pressure plate, and clutch needed to be replaced, as well as the cat converter. I agreed and also purchased a warranty for my transmission. My subtotal was over $6000. After all the repairs, I received my car back seven days later, thinking that everything he stated would be replaced. Earlier this year, the clutch stopped functioning. I took my minivan to the dealership for them to honor the warranty. I was told that the warranty did not cover clutch repairs. Basically, I was lied to.
I am still trying to seek justice and get them to honor their word. I highly recommend that no one use Lute Riley for any repairs. They do not have the integrity to be in business and should not be trusted. Next time, I will buy a Toyota.

I purchased a 2010 Honda Accord from Anderson Honda in Maryland. When I purchased my vehicle, I inquired about getting a bluetooth device installed. I was told that if I got the device as part of my purchase that it would be covered under 3-year 36,000 mile warranty that came with the car. I purchased it (the item is on my Vehicle Purchase Agreement) and subsequently, the car went from MD to CA with my daughter. The bluetooth device is now dropping calls, and my daughter went to get it repaired in CA.
Miller Honda told her it was aftermarket, and they would not fix it. I called Anderson and my sales representative, Jim **, told me, “Oh that was if the car was here in Maryland.” I told him that at the time I told him I was taking the car to my daughter in California and he said it will be covered under the car’s 3-year 36,000 mile warranty. I am angry, because I financed this item when I could have paid cash for it and had it installed after the purchase. Also, I was told that this was a factory Honda item (Hands Free Link), and if I knew it was an aftermarket item, I may have gotten a NAV or more sophisticated item for my money.
Finally, I am angry because Honda is not living up to its obligations and lied to me to get me to purchase this item that they now do not want to stand behind. I had a bad experience years ago with a Renault and have stayed away from companies that I thought were not reputable. I should have stayed with Toyota, I guess. I want no one else to get burned like this.

On Friday, January 11th, 2013, I left Massachusetts and drove up to New Brunswick, Canada which is about a 9-hour ride. Upon arrival that evening, I parked my car in the driveway and left it sit as usual overnight. Next morning, I unlocked the door and opened the driver's side to a smell of burnt plastic and smoke. Immediately, I noticed the dash info screen and GPS area was melted and realized my passenger side floor was burnt. The glove compartment was melted shut and all wiring was exposed.
The windshield was completely smoked up and the ceiling too. I was immediately in touch with my local agent at the Herb Chambers Seekonk, Mass location and they were all pretty worried at the moment and requested that I buy a flight back to Mass, which I did with their approval and reimbursement authorization from Honda. My agent requested that I drop the car off at the local Honda dealership in New Brunswick and I returned back to Massachusetts the day after. My local Honda Herb Chambers has informed me that they will not help me and have requested that I return their loaner car which I also had to do.
Remember that only 14 months ago I bought a brand new 2012 Honda Crosstour from them full warranty but they still have told me that I am on my own and that I have to deal with American Honda which has been a total nightmare. The car was shipped back on US ground and brought to Maine where the dept manager took a few pictures and looked over the damage but did not go in to the dash or look internally. I did contact this gentleman and asked him what he thought happened and he said that based on what he saw, it was clearly a faulty wire or condensation started fire due to the change in cold weather.
I have since then tried to connect with several people at American Honda in Torrance, CA to try and help me and at least identify what really happened here but Honda has refused to help or further investigate or even acknowledge some sort of defect or internal issue with their brand new 2012 Honda Crosstour. This totally boggles my mind how a corporation like Honda could do this.
Wouldn't Honda want to know what happened and how to fix this issue moving forward? They have no respect, no sympathy and they try to consider themselves as a reputable company? Honda America needs to do something so that all parties can be notified properly and if any further issues with the Crosstour can be rectified before further damage or even death occurs. If anyone knows what I should do here, please let me know.

When I brake, especially going downhill, the steering wheel starts to shake. I have driven the car for only 21,000 miles - Accord 2012. Also, the driving seat is very uncomfortable. At times, when it's summer, the AC smells like something is rotten. Is there something that Honda can do to replace or fix these problems?

I bought my Civic Sedan LX 2012 on February 4, 2012 from the Honda dealer at Manhasset. I only have a little over 5,000 miles on it because I mostly only use it to commute to work during the weekdays. One of the reasons I bought a Honda car instead of any other was because of its high standard and reputation for making great motor vehicles that don’t break down easily. This past week, my car, for the second time within a year, had to go back to the shop for maintenance and repairs due to water leaking into the gas tank. The first time this happened was back on September 2, 2012.
I had the car taken to Hillside Honda to be inspected. When they looked into it, they found that water had gotten into the gas tank. I've been going to the same gas station near my house ever since I bought this car, and nothing like this ever happened before either to me or anyone who goes there. My family, friends and co-workers all blamed Honda for a manufacture defect. But even though I felt bad about this case, I didn't blame Honda at all and in fact, finished off paying off for the car this past January 8th - 11 months after I bought the car and much earlier than the initial 3 year plan I signed up for. Then now, only a few months later, the same thing happened.
I can only deduce that either I believe there was a mechanical deficiency, to begin with, in the car when I originally bought it, or when I had the car fixed and the people at Hillside Honda said that they put all new parts; they put the same ones back because the exact same thing happened. It’s a brand new model and I demand something be done about this because now I have a phobia about driving this car, and because I don’t know when or where my car might stop. Safety should be a priority on any vehicle. Luckily both times, I was near my house when this happened; God knows what could have happened if the car chose to stop on the highway. If something like this happened 5 years after I bought the car, I would surely take responsibility for it; but how can something like this happen twice within the first year?
This is unacceptable and totally unfair for me to have to take responsibility for. Not only do I want Honda to recall this vehicle and pay for the costs in having to repairing this vehicle for breaking down both last time and this time, but I would also like a refund for the car itself. If I didn't care much about having to constantly care for my car, I would have bought a used model and at a significantly lower price. I trusted Honda’s integrity even after last September’s incident, which made me pay off the rest of the car without any further doubts; but now, I know I made a mistake in thinking so.

2006 Honda Civic Dangerous Mechanical problem: Don't be fooled like I was by Honda's reputation. Their cars have tons of problems and the case agents are merely customer service guys and gals with scripts. At 29,000 miles, a bolt got torn off from the tensioner causing a massive chain reaction of broken belts and pulleys. The extended warranty didn't cover it because a bolt shouldn't do that. The guy kept saying wear and tear, but the fact is that it was the bolt that caused the chain reaction and not the belts. Bolts are still intact in cars that were built 50 years ago.
When I mentioned that, he said I could reimburse you for the bolt which is $1.50, basically mocking me. I said to him that the reason the labor cost was so high was because of that bolt that flew into the engine and the mechanics supposedly had to spend 7 hours to fetch out (Honda Dealership). The guy was passive-aggressive and very unprofessional.
Do yourself a favor and do some major research before buying a Honda. They will live with the reputation of having safe and reliable cars but when it comes to a problem they got to fix, they turn against you. My next car was probably going to be another Honda, not anymore. There are far too many car companies to stand for this. Their cars are supposedly overpriced because of their quality, but that is no longer true. Do some research. Oh, yeah, this whole thing happened while I was driving at 40 miles per hour and it was a really stressful and panicky situation since it all happened out of the blue.

This past week, my car, for the second time within a year, had to go back to the shop for maintenance and repairs due to water leaking into the gas tank. I bought this car (2012 Civic Sedan LX) on February 4, 2012. I only have a little over 5,000 miles on it because I mostly only use it to commute to work during the weekdays. On September 2, 2012, I was in my car with my boyfriend and his friend to go get some lunch. After going about 5 blocks or so, he suddenly remembered that he forgot something at home, so I had to make a U-turn and go back home. On the way back, the car slowly puttered to a stop. Naturally, I thought it was because I was out of gas or something, but when I looked at the gas meter, it was more than half full. I started up the car again, and although the engine turned on, the car was shaking by itself ... until it again sputtered to a halt. I tried starting the engine a few more times but after a few more tries, it was futile. Luckily, at that time, there weren't too many cars around and there was miraculously a parking space nearby, so the two guys managed to push the car safely into that spot. I called my insurance company (Geico) and they towed my car two days later and took it back to the dealer.
After they inspected the car, they found that water had gotten into the gas tank. They suspected that it was from a bad gas station who pumped water along with their gas. I've been going to the same place near my house ever since I bought this car, and nothing like this ever happened before. The total cost for repairs came out to $1632.34, but even though Geico covered $1085.23 of it, I still had to pay $547.11 out of my own pocket for an accident I didn't even take part in.
Then again, on January 14, I turned on the car to go to work, just like any other day, and the car shook in the familiar manner of last October, before it stopped. I got the car towed and taken back to the dealer. Surprise, surprise, they said that there was water in the gas tank. What I'd like to know is how so much water could possibly get into the tank to make the car want to stop. I realized that the night before this happened, it rained a lot in my neighborhood, but surely, it couldn't have all gotten into my car. One of the repairmen suspected that someone poured water into the gas tank on purpose. Only I have the key to my car. Why would I want to do something as stupid as pouring water into my car, not once, but twice, and have to go through all this trouble and waste a ton of money? It also couldn't have been an outside job, because by the hole where you put the gas nozzle, there's no scratch mark or any visible proof that someone tried to break in to do something bad on purpose.
Because of this, not only was I late to work, but so was my sister who works in the same office I do. She was with me in the car at that time and is still suffering from being scared due to the car's convulsions. In both cases, luckily, the car stopped near my house, or rather, in a vicinity without too many cars. God knows what could have happened if the car chose to stop on the highway. The technician who looked at my car was dumbfounded as to how something like this could happen, not once, but twice. I suspect that this second time was due to bad workmanship last time by someone who was working on my car and left a hole for water to drip and accumulate. There is no other explanation.
I bought the newest model of this Honda car because I wanted the best of the best. If I didn't care too much about having to take care of my car breaking down every so often, I would have bought a used car at a much more affordable price. Because of these incidents, my insurance fee went up from $1,936.42 to $1,981.85, but more than that, now I have a phobia about driving, because I don't know when or where my car might stop. It's not even a year old and I've kept it in good condition. There is no reason for this. The first time this happened in January, I had to take the bus from my home in Flushing back and forth to work (in the Bronx) every day for about two weeks since my car was in the shop getting repaired, and now it looks like I need to do that again. The top reason for buying the car in the first place was to help me commute to work, but if it cannot fulfill that purpose, it's pretty much of no use to me. I don't wish to waste any more money paying for stuff like this.

The car cut off while I was in the store for five minutes. I was told that if you leave keys in the ignition while off, it drains the battery. No car in my life has that ever happened after leaving the radio in the car on and drained the battery. I had a problem within 3 months of buying a 2008 Honda. The car cut off and wouldn't start, and it did it again last night. I took it in before and the first time I took it in, the battery was fine. They checked the battery today and they said it was no good but it happened a total of 4 times and there was a recall on the car. It happened to other people and which shouldn't have happened. It cut off last night and no key was in the ignition and the battery died.
I spoke to Ron, store manager, and the service manager and they refuse to change the battery. All they did was to charge up the battery because they wanted me to purchase a battery for $159 which is a problem. Because there was a problem a few months after I bought the car and I brought in for the same thing now, in less than a year.
Honda told me that if you leave the key in the car, the car still is drawing power even though the key is off. I kid you not. My mom was in the car for five min. and the battery died. Honda of Roanoke Rapids doesn't care about customer service and doing what is right to satisfy the customer. The battery was going bad before I bought it in March. I will never buy a car again from them. And I have the powertrain warranty and American Honda forced me to get it and won't cover squat. I was forced to take it by American Honda or else they would not approve my loan. This was Honda of Roanoke Rapids. How many did they force to take warranty out so they can get more money from them?

When driving on the interstate, my check engine light started flashing. I continued driving to get off the highest and since there was no noise or any change in performance, I assumed it would have been fine. Two minutes later, my car (07 Accord V6) shut itself off. I had it towed to an independent garage where I was told a spark plug had somehow came loose, fell through the cylinder, and exploded inside my engine. Now I'm trying to decide what makes the most sense for a repair, to replace the engine or take apart the head and replace that and hope the ganging ring need to be replaced anyway. Good job, Honda for keeping such a reliable name. Out of all the people I have talked to, nobody has seen this happen.

When I was younger, I always dreamed of getting a Honda. I loved these cars. So as soon as I was able to get one, I did. So sorry I did. I have fixed my car radio a couple of times and it cost about $400. It’s not cheap with raising 4 kids! I googled it and it seems to be an ongoing problem. I called 1-800-999-1009 and no one wanted to help me. So, I told them about the radio draining my battery and dying, leaving me and my kids stranded on the side of the road and no one seemed to care. Obviously, this is not the first they have heard of this problem because it’s all over the net. This is my first and last Honda.
I was trying to convince my boyfriend to get one. Now, I am convincing him not to. Now in the midst of me having temporary home due to hurricane Sandy and just lost my job, I have a car that continues to die in the freezing cold. I will never get another Honda. I will let my friends and family know of this issue and also tell them if you have a problem, Honda will not help so it’s better to go with a Nissan or Toyota. My mom has been buying Nissan for about 20 years and they have really good customer service. Boo to you Honda.

Bronx Honda refused to perform services due to a poor evaluation - Two years ago, I had some service work done and I was not happy so I gave Bronx Honda a poor evaluation. Yesterday, I went in for services and the service manager refused to service my vehicle because of my evaluation. I don't understand why we are asked for a survey of the dealer's performance and then if the dealer is not happy with our suggestion, they can refuse services. Why own a Honda if the local dealer is not going to service your vehicle? I was also told that recall work cannot be refused, but they did refuse to perform my recall work. They also made me order and pay for the part, then refused services.

I contacted the main number to Honda regarding my complaint (the need to new brake pads after only driving the car for 22,000). Two reps called me and the dealer contacted me and everyone was very helpful in rectifying this situation. They looked over my warranty and are now in the process of working out a refund for me. I was upset and very angry initially as I hold Honda in such a high-esteem. And after their help and what seemed to be genuine assistance, my dissatisfaction has abated! I will now reconsider and may purchase another (4th) Honda, as Customer Service was truly unbeatable.

I bought my Accord in 2007, and just got it paid off in August 2012. I've loved my car and it's been great up until now. In September, the tinting started peeling off the passenger side window. I have yet to get that fixed. I've taken good care my Honda, taking it in at all the right times for oil changes and tune-ups (at a Honda dealership!). I just had an oil change in August, and it's only been 5000 miles on it. The car started making engine noise and I scheduled a tune up. The day before the tune up, the car wouldn't start and was making terrible grinding-like noises. I had it towed to the dealership, and they called me telling me they had to put 4 quarts of oil in it and that it needs a new engine! It only has 95,000 on it! None of the warning lights came on, oil or engine, none of them! They said it would be $3,169 for installation of a new engine and that I should go ahead and get all my fluids changed and I also had two broken stabilizer links for $3,700! I said I needed to think about what to do and I'd get back with them.
I called several mechanics who were quite shocked at this as I was, knowing Honda's reputation for cars lasting well into 200,000 miles. I talked to the manager at the Honda dealership who was of no help and suggested I call Honda out in CA. They were of no help either. My brother (also a mechanic) called and suggested I keep receipt handy. He said he'd been talking to several mechanics in his area and they're saying they are seeing a lot of this with the earlier models of Honda Accords, and he's thinking if enough people complain and post reviews of this, maybe there will be a recall. I'm sure hoping so! I am very, very disappointed as I thought I did my research very well in choosing my car for longevity!

Yesterday, after taking my Honda Civic 2010 in for a check after hearing an odd noise under the front right side, I was informed that I needed new brake pads! I only have 22,000 miles on the car! This is my 3rd new Honda and this is the first time I've had to get new pads at such a low number of driving miles! I reluctantly left my car at the dealership for the repair as I was unable to reach another auto repair shop over the Thanksgiving Day holiday. This will be the last Honda that I will ever purchase. The cost will be about $250.00 or a little higher. Very disappointed as I bought a car that I could rely on during these hard economic times!

I bought a Honda Civic sedan 2010 from the Authorized dealer here in Egypt, but I face some problems with them. The Steering wheel material started to peel off and I went to the authorized dealer (Al) for it to be repaired. They replied that it is a common complaint in this car, but they can't include it in the warranty although my warranty is still active! Please advise what I should do. Thank you.

The car (2012 Honda Civic) is 3 months old and I have always owned Hondas and love them until now. I was stranded and called AAA for a jump twice. I visited the dealer and they could not find anything wrong and said I must have left the lights on which is very insulting. First of all, I don't drive at night. The lights were set to 'auto on' (which may have been the problem). Second, I know when lights are on; I can see the headlights. When visiting another car repair place, they noticed the battery was reading 12.5 when it should have been in the 13 to 14 range. So maybe the alternator wasn't giving the battery enough juice or something was draining the battery. The display screen read ABS system and VSA system and all indicator lights were on while trying to start. No other indicator lights ever came on. I don't want to be stranded again and the dealer was insulting. Any ideas?

My son bought a 2003 Honda Accord. Three days after it was purchased, it wouldn't go into 3rd gear unless he just "stepped" on it or waited for the transmission to decide what to do. He asked the friend and she stated that it did it a few times with her and was told it was a clogged valve but nothing major. He checked with Honda and found out there was a recall; however, wouldn't you know the recall on the transmission had nothing to do with the problem he was facing. I started to do some research and see if there were other people with the same issue. I was absolutely astonished at how many complaints were filed with Honda and blogs and BBB and Consumer Affairs with the same exact problem.
Ironically enough, the issues with all the complaints were that it was after all the warranties were expired, go figure. I decided to call Honda and just speak to them to see if Honda was investigating the issue since there were so many complaints, and the previous recall had nothing to do with this issue. Well, I was told that since we bought the car as is, Honda will not investigate the issue. I explained that we can get the lady we bought it from to call and she said that didn't matter because we bought the car, it was now in our name. Really? So you will "listen" to my complaint and I can "file" one with you, but basically you don't care because we just bought the car. The CS spokeswoman told me, "Ma'am, I am more than willing to file your complaint, but yes, because you just purchased the car, there is nothing Honda can do."
Wow, so you mean to tell me that there are thousands of complaints about the same issue, same model, same year and Honda is not willing to investigate the issue at hand? I have told my son, let this be a lesson learned, don't go by what everyone tells you that Hondas are good cars and they last forever, blah, blah, blah. I would even understand if there were only a "few" complaints about this issue. But I was amazed at how many there were about this and yet there seems to be no ongoing investigation to see if there was something that could be done. I am so very disappointed in Honda and their lack of concern about the safety and satisfaction of their consumers.

We saw on the news one night that Honda would be recalling their CRV 2005 - 2007 for faulty driver side window door switches that could catch fire. Our window hadn't been working for a couple months, so I emailed our dealer and made an appointment to bring it in the next day. (BTW, I bought a new 2012 luxury edition CRV and gave my 2005 to my daughter.) The recall is not even being mailed to owners until the beginning of November! My daughter woke up at 4am to find the cars driver’s side door in flames, which quickly ignited the entire cab! The engine looks brand new and wasn't touched, but the car is a complete loss and devastating to look at, not to mention the emotional job it took on my daughter as she watched her car (and like a typical teen that lives out of their car, all her most prized possessions) go up in flames.
When I called Honda (first shaking over the fire and then angry that I could have lost my child in this tragedy), they could not have cared any less. Many people told me to hire a lawyer including the service manager at the dealership where I bought both cars. He said Honda won't do anything and you will have to lawyer up. My husband and I talked and just need the insurance company to cover the car, and we are going through our homeowners policy for her more than $3,000 worth of personal property. The insurance agency is going after Honda for their reimbursement and said they will also attach the list of lost personal property for them to reimburse. Oh, one more thing, my 2012 Honda CRV also had a recall - not the driver’s door window switch but nonetheless ... Would I buy a Honda again? Toyota is looking mighty fine these days!

The Honda chipped key dilemma - I understand that they did it for security but when the car gets old, it's the poor people who have to deal with the cost of the chipped key. The insurance companies twisted Honda's arm to install the security devices instead of leaving the decision up to the consumer. Here is the situation of someone I know who is a student: He has a '98 Honda Accord, very old and beat up but it gets him to school. That person lost their key and was left stranded. They called a locksmith and said they could not help because only Honda and a few other places would be able to help. The other costly thing was that not only did he have to pay for the special key, he would have to tow the car to that place to get it fixed. Expenses paid were $600 for losing a stupid key. Just imagine the nightmare if you were somewhere really far from home.

In May 2008, I purchased a 2003 Honda Accord from the dealership in Leesburg, Florida. Supposedly, it had a certified inspection (I have a sticker anyway). I paid for an extended warranty on the electrical system. Within a week the TCS icon lit up on the dash. I called the said dealership and they told me to bring the car in, which I did. The warning light went off en route. I was told by a service person that they could only check into the problem when the light was on. When I had had enough and demanded they at least try to look into the problem, they informed me that the warranty had expired. I went to Pep Boys and guess what? They identified the problem without the icon being illuminated. So, I had to pay $1,800 out of pocket. I chose Pep Boys to get my business rather than the dealership.
Recently, my A/C died. Simultaneously, my CD and radio stopped working and the audio unit’s lights went dark. It turns out a $1,200 part, a faulty electrical board that needs replacing. Again, I appealed to the staff at the dealership. The general manager was rude. He said they didn't have to notify me of service bulletins and that Honda was responsible for notifying me of any recalls. I have since found out that this make and model also has transmission problems, so I'm just waiting for that shoe to drop. Never ever trust a company because of its word-of-mouth reputation. Honda has put out some clunkers and their Leesburg dealership - boy, I want to name names - doesn't give a damn.
P.S.: I maintain my vehicle regularly and it has fewer than 62,000 miles on it.

My wife and I, along with our grandchildren, were placed in a very life threatening situation on several occasions with vehicle stalling in heavy high-speed traffic. The ignition switch failed, but turned out to be a very expensive diagnosis and repair, $2,350.19 to be exact. When I found out there had been a recall, I contacted Honda for reimbursement, but to no avail. They mailed me a check for the cost of the switch. No letter of explanation as to why they refused to not pay for the total repair bill. I find this to be very appalling for a company not to respond to a customer's complaint of a safety recall.

In April 2011, at 120k, I placed my first transmission in my 2004 Honda Accord. The cost is $2345.00. 16 months later, the transmission failed. I placed a used transmission and the cost is $909.00. The cost is $676.00 for a salvage shop in Pittsburgh, PA to put the transmission in the car. It’s a used transmission. It’s no good. It’s not shifting gears and has no reverse. It’s still under warranty; another tranny was ordered for an additional $150.00. New labor cost for installing price quoted was $480. If there are no problems, the total cost so far is $4,410.00. When I purchased my Honda brand new in 2004, I thought I was purchasing a reliable car that I could maybe pass down to my son. Honda should be ashamed that they could sell with the knowledge of troubled transmissions.

My 2004 Honda Accord Coupe started jerking at 78,000 miles. I had someone look at it who is a mechanic for the FBI. He said there was very little transmission fluid in the car and that was unusual. Two weeks after he put in transmission fluid, I was alone in the city and my car would not go into reverse. I panicked and called this man who recommended a transmission place. The cost was $2,550 to have the work done. I am a single mom and had to rent a car for the week it took to replace the transmission. This cost an additional $200. I looked up Honda car problems and this is a common problem with my car. I called Honda and they said that my VIN was not a car that was documented as having a problem. I have since had the car repaired and it still doesn't feel quite right. The transmission company asked if I would bring the car back in three weeks, so that they can check that everything is working properly.

My 2001 Honda Passport was less than 98,000 miles (**) and I always kept-up with the care and maintenance of my car. I did the timing belt on it by myself. Change oil and anything that my car needed, I would fix it myself. So the speed meter and the gas gauge stopped working, and I told my wife it looks like the car will need a computer. So June 12, 2012, I had South Motors Honda put in a new computer and that fixed the problems. We paid $901.97. April 15, 2012 they wrote it on their computer that the serpentine belt was next and needed a fix. The serpentine belt broke and they had it fixed ($829.04). May 24, 2012 my wife brought the car in because of a tiny oil leak, so they would need to keep the car for a week to replace the oil pan gasket. And on their computer, it never said we would need on the next repair a motor because the person that removed the oil to fix the oil leak (the oil pan gasket, they had to take it off and put a new one on) never added the oil back to the motor and we paid $744.04. So my wife had to pick up the car because I had to return the rental back. As I walk back to South Motors, my wife was so mad because now she hears what are a sound from inside of the motor and a sound of a knock.
While they were gone, I opened the hood and checked the oil and nothing was touching the stick. As I close the hood, the tech came and drove our car in to his shop in the back, away from us; and they got mad because I needed to keep my eye on my car. So the tech adds 5 quarts of oil and drove it back around to the service advisor and he said ok, everything is fixed; and the tech fixed the oil leaks. As we started it out, the rods were knocking badly. The service advisor Allen did not write down on the computer at South Motors, like he did everything else, about the motor that’s next for repair. Allen said that after the car leaves South Motors, there is nothing that they can do and it's not their problem if it needs a new motor. Allen did say the motor needs to be replaced but not by South Motors. They are not giving me a free motor. This came from Allen and the shop manager. The shop manager did say we spent a lot of money on my car and “Our techs don't let a car leave without any oil and it sounds like you're trying to get a free motor. That’s not going to happen.” I saw the oil stick and saw no oil; and on this specific item (remove the old oil pan gasket and add a new one), you have to drain the oil to fix this leak. You have to replace the oil back in the motor.
I think they need to buy me a new motor or write me a check for $5,800 - end of story. You don't have to make this look bad, just mail me a check for $5800.Thanks to the internet for letting me post this. The bad thing is this South Motor Honda. When you do something bad to people, it comes back around. I have talked to a painter and we have talked about making a huge sign about South Motors Honda and write what a great job you do and how many have you scammed like me. We’ll write it in Spanish, too; so when my Honda Passport is parked at the mall, people can read it and find out the truth. It's going to be readable on both sides, so 1000's can read it. You can read it at the mall at school; even at red lights from behind, you can still read how great your scamming of people is. So we have gotten with DOT and DMV to see just what we can cover up; no lights and no tag can be covered, so this sign is where you can read it and be ok with the laws. If nothing else, we don't need signs; he can paint what we need to write it on the Passport.
I don't see any other way out, other than paying the owner for his time waiting for his car not to get fixed and renting rental cars all paid out by him. He thinks you owe him a lot more than $5800. Look if he has the money to get these types of repair done and paying for them (and gets treated like this). This man has a family and works, and he thinks you’re giving him the short end of the stick. South Motors needs to stop this by paying him off before he starts, and he has flyers printed by the 1000's. I think you need to pay him with a car and $5800. That’s his car he took care of and he feels he trusted you and you did pooh on him. He trusted you to fix his computer on his car and he paid then it is something else. And then… Ok, money is coming. He is paying $600-$1000 to $1800-$2000. Let’s drain his oil out so we can get him to buy a brand new motor and tell the manager to side with whatever they have to say. Then after we do this, we can get him for more stuff. Look at what all he paid and walk around and laugh at how dumb he is. And just maybe, we play our cards right; we cannot add oil. At some point, we will get him again. He is mad now and we will get him again for being mad or making us do more work. Being a problem to us, we will teach our advisor using 4 letter words. Hey, it's ok. We will have him eating out of the palm of our hands and have him come in for little stuff to have us fix on his Passport.
So what happened is that the service advisor saw the serpentine belt was broken and needed to be replaced and added that the timing belt may need to be replaced. But he was so worked up about my fine wife that he did or would not hear me telling him this old boy had already put a new timing belt on. He was watching my wife walk around and asked her in a putting me down kind of way, and they would go ahead and change the timing belt. So, I got mad and showed my butt because I did all the work on that change and he would not let me talk or give me the time of the day - too busy looking and not learning about the problems that my car was having. They got mad after removing and finding out everything with the timing belt is brand new. Then, he wanted my wife to walk around and act as if he and she was cock of the walk and try to belittle me.
My wife loves me and I trust her. She’s the type of person that reads a person for what they're worth and she has stood in the heat for what is right, not sides or color or how big he wants to act. So this not putting oil in the car, this Allen guy being a jerk, and the manager buying and standing by Allen’s stories, the manager’s people do no harm and his techs do not leave cars without oil… I am a customer and I have a clue why they would belittle me and remove the oil from my car that’s paid for. I need a check for $5800. I don't trust them with a carton of eggs. They have burned me badly and I can't trust them to replace my motor with a new one that they can clean up junk and try to pass it off as a new motor. I can trust green bills in the amount of $5800. All the waiting with my baby and waiting for our car all day to get fixed was just a part of their games.

While driving my car on I-10, both the passenger side curtain airbag and seat airbag deployed with no warning or reason! When I got home, I wanted to contact Honda; but a lawyer friend warned me to do my research first! I found several online complaints about the same issue. In each case, Honda claimed they must have run something over that caused airbags to deploy. In each case, driver was sure they didn't; but Honda refused to fix the car, and insurance also refused. I took proper steps to protect myself; and sure enough, Honda gave me the same response. I can’t believe nothing is being done about this! It is unfair and very dangerous to all drivers on the road! If you are considering buying a Honda, I would strongly suggest considering another make that is safer and from another car company that takes responsibility for their mistakes.

I purchased a 2002 Honda. I was refused a test drive. The air conditioning was not working and the radio didn't work. I took it in for service for the air conditioning, then the maintenance required light was on. After receiving the serviced car, it stalled when making turns 4 days later. I took the car to a Honda dealer to have it checked and was told it was the timing belt causing the engine to cease and low oil. My question is, the car was in the shop less than a week prior and doesn't work. I attempted to return the vehicle to the dealer. Coleman is refusing to take it back. Honda car is a dud and Coleman refuses to satisfy the customer.

There has been a shudder that I feel and hear for quite some time now. I thought it was a characteristic of the vehicle until I inquired about it online and discovered that there are hundreds of customer complaints about this very same symptom. I have tried to get help from Scholfield Honda dealership in Wichita, KS where I purchased the vehicle to help and they refuse. They then referred me to American Honda Corp. and after numerous contacts with them, they refuse to help or do anything as well. Nothing has happened to help my situation and I'm very frustrated because this has been going on for a long time. I have been a very loyal customer of Scholfield Honda and have done all my maintenance with them. This is a horrible way to treat a possible return or repeat customer.

The first problem of my Honda Civic is the brakes. They are anti-locking brakes but they should be called anti-stopping brakes. When you try to brake going over even the smallest bump, ice on the road, or pot hole, you go another 20 to 60 feet no matter how slow you are going. I mentioned this to the local dealer in New Rochelle (NY) and they said it was the way the cars and brakes are made.
The biggest problem is actually the CV joints. After about 5,000 miles, there is a sound when you turn the wheel. No matter how small a turn, it will sound like an old wooden ship; making crickety, crakety sounds. Once again, the dealer said this was not a problem. But now my auto-repair guy says the rubber around the CV joints is perfect; no wear-and-tear. Nothing torn. Nothing worn out. But the CV joint is worn out behind the rubber surrounding it making this a classic case of defective CV joints in a car.
I have tried to contact Honda about 3-4 times now and am now about to send a certified letter to the top people at Honda in America and Japan. If this is not resolved, this will be Honda's turn just like when Toyota had their brake problems with the Prius. And why do I say this? Because I have heard many, many people who have had the same problem with their Honda cars having a CV joint problem and I will write and write, make a video to put on YouTube, and build a website if I have to so that Honda either does something or maybe we just all wake up and never buy anything from Japan again.

At 13,000 miles, I detected oil leaking onto my parking space. The dipstick indicated the oil to be 2 quarts low. My Honda dealer did not respond to my concerns via e-mail. I went to the dealership where the service department "topped off" the oil. I said it appeared that the plug was not secured properly when last serviced there. My leak improved but seemed to continue. Another e-mail was ignored. I traded for another brand.

Last week, I gave my Honda Stunner in one of the service center (Vahini motors, Kollam, Kerala) to correct certain complaints in the engine. I bought my bike just 8 months back, but I got an engine complaint. As they said, I changed an engine part (gasket) but still there is an unwanted noise while accelerating. Also, they had not corrected the RPM meter. All the services, that is the first four services, were done correctly. Looking forward for your reply.

I bought my 02 Accord brand new, and now have 174K on the clock. I've replaced the transmission 3 times, and finally found a shop here in San Francisco that built it correctly. They told me that Honda transmissions are unlike any other standard transmission design and they fail often. There's too much pressure kept in the torque converter, and not enough return fluid for the unit to function correctly. There are several aftermarket fixes, of course, that you have to pay for. When I picked my car up at the shop, there were 3 Accords, 3 Odysseys and 2 MDXs. I called American Honda to ask for some sort of help seeing as this is my 3rd time around the pony show - nothing. Shame on Honda for being so stupid in their design. I'm not going back for more.

I bought a Honda Dio in August 2011. The self-start of the vehicle stopped working within 15 days from the day of purchase. Following this, the horn, headlight dipper, and the indicators all stopped working. We had to take the vehicle to the service station several number of times. The Sudarshan Motors Service Station in Nagpur charged the battery 6-7 times and replaced it twice, yet the problem remains. The people at the service station are clueless and very rude. It is annoying to take the vehicle there and leave it for a couple of days.

The brand new Honda's safety features do not work. The ceiling leaks when it rains. The mileage on the car is from going back and forth to the dealer without repairs ever made. When I call Honda corporate, they say there is nothing they will do. They also interrupt, talk over me, and are extremely rude & unprofessional. That is unacceptable, so I keep calling back. So, while I am making payments on a brand new Honda that I can't drive and it rains inside the vehicle, they bully me and tell me they are going to charge me with harassment because I keep calling. Haha! As an emergency flight nurse working alongside police, I can just see how the police will investigate Honda's claims when I show them my lemon vehicle. Hell, they'll start calling Honda for me!

The steering in the Honda Accord 2012 with alloy wheels is extremely hard and very, very uncomfortable to use. I made a complaint to the dealer, and they said the steering hardness is because of the alloy wheels. And I tried changing the alloy wheels to normal wheels, and to my surprise, the hardness is still the same. It does look like I will get a solution for the problem, unless the matter is escalated to the Honda Motors corporation. I did not expect this sort of steering from a company with such high reputation. This has greatly reduced my impression about the quality of Honda cars.

I have a new Honda Accord 2.0 VTI-L purchased in Aug. 2011. Until now, May 2012, mileage is 1,5000 km plus. I found the car key remote control button (unlock button) paint has peeled off. My car had maintenance in Honda service center already 4 times. I have made feedback to Honda customer service center my problem. They gave me the answer it's under wear and tear. I'm dissatisfied as this answer for me due to the car being just half year.

I have a new 2012 Honda Jazz Hybrid in my ownership. Overall, I am very satisfied with the car. But after the maintenance at 15,000 kilometers, the oil in the engine was replaced in one authorized Honda Israel service. After oil replacement, I just haven’t recognized my car responses. Also, the fuel consumption has increased a bit. In the service manual, it is suggested to use Honda Green Oil for all hybrid cars. The C/N is 0282P99S4LHE. Instead of this oil, they put inside C/N 0282P99G4LHE and they claimed that Honda approved this replacement. That’s the same answer I got from a local customer service agent. My request to put Green Oil wasn't successful. They told me that there is no Green Oil in stock and I have to order it 4 weeks before the next service on 30,000 kilometers. My question is what I am supposed to do in this situation? Thanks in advance.

I was very frustrated. My new Honda City 1.5 S (purchased on 23.05.2011) was sent for a fourth preventive maintenance on 27.03.2012 on a check-all indicator, check aircon malfunction and check alarm triggered when the car locked at the dealer (Kah Motor’s job sheet **). After 6 weeks, I received a call on 08.05.2012 from my dealer that Honda reported there were four burnt spare parts (electrical boards) and were not under warranty claim! Then, I requested for an explanation on this warranty exclusion, but I still don’t have a reply till now! I need this matter to be investigated immediately.

My son was in an accident on 1/16/12, got hurt, went to the hospital. He has a 2003 Honda Polet and hit the car in front. A lot of damage was done to the car and it was a 3-car pile up. He was hurt - all of his mouth and head. I want to know why the air bag didn't go off. He was driving at the speed limit of 40 and sneezed for a split second, and found himself behind the car in front. Please let me know why the air bags didn't go off.

Trash truck crossed center line and hit driver side door while traveling at 60 mph. Car spun around in front of the trash truck and was broadsided by the truck on the driver's side. Car continued to spin and rear-ended into guard rail dividing highway. Truck then ran over the left front corner of car. Car suffered $15,000 in damages and two sections of frame replaced. Wife was injured with whiplash in back and neck, aneurism on aorta, and seat belt pancreatitis and chest and neck seat belt burns. I was not injured. No air bags deployed in the vehicle. My insurance fixed the car instead of totaling it. The car suffered $10,000 in diminished value. I can't find a lawyer in WV to help me, can't find a lawyer to file suit against Honda for failure of air bags resulting in injury. Car was a 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid and was purchased on 1-9-11 and accident was on 3-24-11.

I live in Baraut, U.P. and I purchased a Honda Activa from Subhan Sai Honda Najafgarh in Nov. 2011 (no-**). After 10 days, there was a problem with that engine and I informed our nearest dealer in Baraut but there was no action taken by that dealer. After that, I informed Mayapuri Honda dealer (because my local address is near, by Mayapuri). But after 15 days, that dealer had taken action and he changed some parts of the engine and I paid 3000 Rs for that. Now, again, I am facing the same problem and my Activa is at my home (Baraut). The local dealer is saying, "I will not do anything; you will have to take it to the same agency where you purchased from." This is very difficult for me because I am working in Gurgaon. How can I take it to Najafgarh from Baraut? My concern is that if there is any problem, then the local dealer should take the responsibility as he is a family of Honda.

Please note that I have a severe problem with my car, although I requested many times to check the sound that I've always heard from the first day I've purchased my car. And during my last service, I asked formally to check for this sound which has always repeated and asked them to mention it in the car job, and finally, they told me it is a small spare part that needs to be changed and it will cost 7,000 EGP!. How come I have to pay for an item which causes the problem that existed since the first day I purchased my car. Please, I need your support as I already did escalation in Honda Egypt, and no one even tried to call me.

I am a very frustrated owner of Honda Accord 2.0 VTi-L, Full Spec, VTEC with plate no **, registered in Penang, Malaysia. I've been maintaining my vehicle in your service center namely KAH Motor located in Sungai Pinang, Penang, Malaysia. Six months back, I had complained about sounds from the bottom of my car bonnet. The service engineer helped to check, but could not find the root cause of the sound. I'd sent my car for checking for 3 times during the past 6 months, no results.
Finally, a month back they told me they found the cause. But, the spare parts need to be ordered from others. They said they'd filed a complaint to Honda HQ and the warranty claim has been approved, spare part should be arriving within 1st week of Apr.12. Sadly, they did not update me even after 15/4/12. When I called up, they said the spare part had not arrived and they do not know when it is arriving. What an irresponsible answer?! They didn't even bother to highlight my problem to their top management and get my case solved. After all, I've been waiting for 6 months to confirm the root cause of the sounds. And now, another infinity date to wait for the repairs?! This is totally unacceptable! I am a heavy user of this vehicle and I need to be safe on the road. I need this to be resolved.

I am an old customer in Honda Egypt where I've been riding Honda cars for eight years until now. First, I had Honda City 2004. The window sensors did not work, then the car keys did not work. They fixed these problems at the customer service center and said that this is a rare case and won't happen again but even then I sold the car. Later, I bought Civic 2007 when it was first launched in Egypt. The car mileage is 56000 km. From day one, I had the same problems with the keys that is not fixed until now. Then suddenly, the motor base needed to be changed where the car mileage was 32000 km and they said at the customer service that this was a manufacturing problem in this car.
Later, I found that the steering wheel box needs to be changed because of a manufacturing problem as they said at Honda customer service center also. Besides all these problems, now I am facing more problems where there are many parts needed to be changed beneath the car, in the front suspension system and the scissors. I can't believe this anymore. I always get bad Honda cars! After all these problems, I see that there must be an action taken to end this disaster. These problems, I shouldn't face them while I'm driving a Honda car. I bought a car with zero level of quality and I won't accept it.
So please, I'm looking forward to get a response from you as soon as possible and to know what's the next step you, as a company, will take because based on this next step, I'm also going to move. I will contact you before I take any formal action here in Egypt because I expect what's said in your policy that you care about your customers' satisfaction and I think you do care also about your Honda reputation here. My husband purchased a Honda CBR250R motorcycle on 4/4/2012 and faulty on 8/4/2012 while he went Taiping trip with his group of biker friends. The motorbikes certainly can't start after stop to have a drink in Taiping town. So far, we have been changing so many new bikes but this is the first time this kind of problem arose, which feels uneasy and yet needs to arrange towing service from Taiping back to Ipoh. In my mind, Honda should bear all the cost incurred including the towing service which make us feel unsatisfied of the product. I have been sending two complaints to Ban Hoe Seng webpage, but no reply from them. I feel disappointed and lack confidence to spread around confidently of Honda product. All my friends ask us about the incident.

I had purchased a CB Unicorn Bike No. DL9SAJ3056 on 31/Oct/2011. I have faced a major problem about picking it up from the first day. I told the service center manager about my problem. He serviced my bike many times, yet there is no result. The engineer has also come for my bike, but there is also no result. Now I am dissatisfied with the bike. My Honda City car developed problem in the driver side door handle lock. The car was sent for servicing and the repair of the door lock at the Joshi's Harmony Honda, Chandigarh. I was told that the problem has been solved but the problem reappeared again after few hours. Next day, I contacted the service center but the adviser was not ready to accept the fact and I am still facing the problem.

I have a 2004 Honda Accord that I bought brand-new. I have always had all routine maintenance completed at a Honda dealership. I had the timing belt replaced ($1,000) within the 7-year time period, hoping to avoid any serious damage if it ever broke. Right after that, I had to replace the power steering pump ($500), because it went bad at 70,000 miles.
Now at 83,000 miles, my transmission has gone out; and I am having to spend $4,000 to have that replaced. I have always taken very good care of this car. I bought it, because of Honda's reputation and hoped it would last me a long time before any major repairs were needed. I have read about numerous complaints and recalls for the transmission, so this leads me to believe Honda isn't what I once thought it was. I will not buy another one, even though I love my car. It's not worth what I have had to spend.

Small ding in the driver side door, when hitting a concrete barrier, caused airbag to deploy and now is having severe roaring in my ear. This was 2 days ago. The airbag deployment caused more damage to me and the vehicle, so I think that we are over protected! Too much government intervention, I am 70 and my hearing was excellent before this, as my doctor said, I could hear a pin drop.

Since my car was new. At 300 miles, I discovered all the fluids were below the recommended marks. The car was never PDI'd and Honda acknowledged this. At 600 miles, the power steering and engine have been vibrating/making noise. Honda inspected my car several times and it was not until the car was over 2000 miles that they decided to replace the power steering pump. The vibration, they said it was all fixed and done. Honda was supposed to re-inspect the car in early February 2012. I am still waiting for a call from Chris, my case manager.
The car is still vibrating at idle; the power steering is still making noises and also vibrates. Front suspension, which was also a problem at 300 miles (according to the dealer who tightened bolts) is still making noises and vibrates. This is a brand new car, and now, at little over 6000 miles, I am ready to get rid of it and take legal actions against American Honda. I have all the documentation from each dealer/mechanic visit.
I also have all telephone conversations with Honda (I work in the customer service/hospitality industry and I cannot switch this off for Honda's case manager) and I am scheduled to have a specialized engineer inspect my car for faults to pursue legal actions. I feel unsafe driving my car to work everyday. I am very frustrated and disappointed with Honda and it makes me very sad that simple communications are not even happening between Honda and me.

Since the day I bought my Honda Twister in December, here are the regular issues I have faced. The loan that was quoted to me by the Honda representative was 33,500, but later the loan sanctioned was 38,000. In my first service they tried to charge me, then I just paid for oiling. Then in the second service, they charged for wheel cart and didn't even repair it, and in the third service they again made a bill of 1,000. I just feel they fool the customers and I am highly annoyed from day one. Please take some quick action.

I purchased the Dio scooter. On the first day, the problem started in that the bike stopped after a 2-km run. After two days, I got it back. But after 10 days, the problem occurred again. After 10 days, I got back my bike from the service center. But after 12 days, the problem again came. Then again after 10 days, I got it back. Now, the same problem occurred. I am very upset that there is no solution from the company's side; they neither change the bike nor solve the problem. It's very bad service from Honda Motors.

I purchased my first car, a Honda Civic Ex 2009, back in May 2009. I loved this car, until it started giving me troubles. Before the 60K, they have already replaced the motor brackets, the battery, and the TPMS sensors (4 times). Yes, the TPMS sensors have been replaced 4 times in the last 3 months. Last month, I had a flat tire; and no light came on. I stopped due to a strange noise and realized that I had a flat.
I contacted the dealer, and they said the light does not come on until you driven over 28MPH. Well, I left it like, I drove it for a couple miles, and the light came back on. I figure it needed air pressure. After a few miles, the light came back off. The dealer had already replaced the sensor 4 times before this, and again, the TPMS sensor light came back on again yesterday.
I contacted the dealer to explain to them about the situation, and they said they wanted me to bring in the vehicle for check-up. I scheduled an appointment. I also contacted Honda headquarters (for the second time) and spoke to Mohammed. I told him about the situation I was going through, and he asked me what should I expect from Honda. I told him that at this point, I was so regretful that I purchased a vehicle that was broken from the beginning, that the vehicle is non fixable, and that I wanted to return it. He said that I needed to go back to the dealer and return the vehicle.
I did not like his attitude; he did not even try to resolve this issue. He said if I had already made up my mind, then I should go ahead and return the vehicle. I mean, if I'm paying for this car, the least that Honda should do for me is a replacement. Shouldn't I? Well, Honda, the least that you can do at this time is give a replacement vehicle or the money that I have paid you for this piece of crap! I will like you to do this before I take matters further.
At this point, I am tired of having to drive an unsafe and broken vehicle made from you, Honda. I am tired of going back to dealers to get the car fixed. I am tired of you, Honda, not paying attention to your customers! If you do not resolve this issue, I promise that I will no longer ever in my life purchase another vehicle made from Honda or its affiliates. And I'm only 24. Guess how many cars I would buy from now until I can't drive anymore!

We brought our leased 2010 Honda Accord EX-L in for a routine oil change and were told that the rear brakes needed replacing. We only have 29,500 miles on the car and were told that we would have to pay for the brake job. This is the 5th Honda Accord we have leased and we never had a problem like this. Our lease is up in November of this year and we are having second thoughts about another Honda lease. Being a front wheel drive vehicle, why are the rear brakes worn and not the front brakes?

I have a 2006 Honda City with 63,000 kilometers. I had a big accident at the 6th of March, but my airbags didn't open. I rescued my life very hard. I always trust your cars' safety, but I was shocked when the airbags would not open. You are always preparing your cars' advertising that everything is excellent in your cars and saying that take our cars because we are care about your life, but I don't believe you. I got Honda Jazz on April last year. I had trouble within two months, no rear brakes. The dealership kept lying and saying nothing was wrong. Four times I went back with no help. Every time I put the handbrake on incline, nothing happens. I told them about this. I took the car to another garage for MOT, it failed on rear brakes. I went to the dealer and showed them the report. They refused to do anything. I paid for repairs myself, returned to the dealer with the bill and asked to see the owner. The staff member refused to get him and was rather intimidating and aggressive. The repairs showed the rear calipers were not working, only one pad was contacting with the disc, so I was driving a dangerous car. I would like something done before I take matters further. I think it is disgusting the way I have been treated. Trading standards said I would have had case if I had gone to them sooner.

My previous Honda 2001 went through to 107,000 miles with only a loose transmission fluid hose. Amazing! This is not the case with my 2007 EX-L V6. The car was in four (4) repairs while on warranty! It had bad leather finish sticking out, rattle in rear door due to bad hinge, bad front brakes pulsating, complete failure of the whole AC system (the car was in repair almost two weeks for that one alone). Disgusting quality!
Now, I did notice when the car was nearing the warranty end, I heard front cooling fans running long after the car shutdown. I got concerned and disconnected the fan wire and connected again, and the problem went away. A few weeks ago, my battery died. I put a new battery. I just noticed that my fan keeps running again for hours when the car is off. Turns out, there is something going on with relays. I am looking forward to dump this lemon as soon as I have enough money. I am not going back to Honda and I am educating everyone how bad Honda quality has become.

My CD player in my 2007 Honda Accord, which I use sparingly as I have 2 other vehicles and 2 Honda motorcycles, started giving an error message. Then, my CD player would not work properly. I can no longer eject the three CDs that are in the player. I learned that the 2003-2004 Accords had a service bulletin (04-027 dated 07/09/04) concerning the CD player which the same unit was used in the 2007 Accord. The Honda dealer here in Greenville, NC recommended that I take it to a local (tech) shop and have them do the service. The Honda dealership here in Greenville, NC would charge me $92.00 just to take the CD player out and ship it off to wherever they send it to for service. Then, I would have to pay to have it serviced and again to have it re-installed. I have learned (online) that there is a significant problem with this 6-CD Changer in 2007 Accords.
Honda refuses to stand behind their product and wants to shift the cost to the consumer. I have been fairly satisfied with my 2007 Accord, which I bought from Coastal Carolina Honda of New Bern, NC (no longer in business). I thought that from here on out I would only purchase Honda vehicles for the rest of my life. Now, after also seeing how Honda failed to stand behind correcting a problem on my Honda Magna motorcycle, which also had a service bulletin regarding engine overheating because of lack of oil flow that they later re-engineered in newer models, drilling an additional hole in the engine head to allow for more oil flow, my mind has been made up concerning Honda and all of their products. I will no longer purchase any Honda product.
I really believed that the company had more integrity than that. But, boy, was I ever wrong! I will soon sell my Honda Accord and motorcycles and kiss Honda goodbye. Life is too short to allow such aggravation in your life. Who needs a company that will not stand behind their own products? I am pretty conscientious about taking care of my things. The problems that have arisen from my Honda car and motorcycle, were due to no fault of my own. They were problems Honda created by their poor engineering and even when the company was made aware of such problems, they continued to pass the cost on to the consumer.
Honda was not concerned about 'saving face'. They were more concerned about getting as many US dollars as they could and not having to pay out anything to correct poorly engineered mistakes that they sold and passed on to the consumer. Buyer beware! Not even Honda is concerned about doing the right thing. I have purchased my last Honda product and I will make sure that I do everything I can to let others know to watch out if they're even thinking about purchasing a Honda.

2000 Honda Accord EX-V6 4spd Automatic - I began having issues with my transmission about a month ago. It started with slippage then hard shifting into reverse, and now, it hardly shifts from 1st into 2nd. It holds 1st way too long then shifts out of 1st, slips, and then slams into 2nd, causing the shift indicator light to blink and a "check engine" light code. The car was purchased new and currently has 130,000 miles. From what I've read on the internet, it is a common recurring problem that Honda is aware of. I feel there needs to be an extended recall to 150,000 miles.

My name is Latifah, 55, mother of four, from Malaysia. I am a Honda Civic Hybrid owner. I would assume that with all the recent hype behind the Class Action lawsuit against Honda in the U.S. on grounds of cheating mileage claim and also Heather ** vs. American Honda, Inc. case at California Small Claims Court, you would have probably guessed where my story is heading.
Well, to cut a long story short, my Honda Civic Hybrid's IMA battery went kaput after a year and ten months of owning it from brand new. My HCH is one of the earlier Hybrids to be purchased in this country. I am not so fussed about the failed technology part of it as this can happen to the very best of us, but I am very concerned and terribly upset about how Honda ridiculed and humiliated a customer who is an early adopter of their Hybrid technology. Instead of helping me out with a technology that they admit is still in its infancy, the company decided to make an example of me, a caution to all and any hybrid buyers, that there is no sympathy from Honda if the expensive IMA battery fails.
My initial request to Honda was for a straightforward battery replacement, but they refused, insisting that the fault with the car occurred outside of the warranty period. Having exhausted all avenues of communication with the company, including writing directly to the CEO and receiving no evidence of customer care, we had no choice but to seek compensation through the Malaysian Consumer Tribunal late last year. Even at this point, Honda refused to make an offer for reasonable battery replacement, but instead came up with nonsense terms and warranty which I rejected.
The Consumer Tribunal Court here disallow lawyers to represent parties in order to keep cost to a minimum and give access to everyone, and without the benefit of fancy legal jargon to defend themselves against my simple statement of facts, Honda lost. To put it simply, the tribunal found that Honda and the dealer that sold me the car was unable to defend their false advertising that claim of 10-12 years lifespan for the IMA battery. The tribunal ordered them to pay me back an equivalent of US$7,000 in compensation. Just like in Heather **’s case, Honda in Malaysia appealed for a judicial review at the High Court shortly after. I can only release the Consumer Tribunal Grounds for Judgment here as my High Court case is still active. After plenty of spinning and hair splitting by their lawyers, it seems like Honda may get their way after all through the legal channel of this country. But I will have to wait for the verdict to be released 27th of this month. Yes, my story does sound like another typical narration of a victim of corporate fraud who then gets away with it because they can afford expensive lawyers who will do anything to get their clients off the hook.
The reason why I am writing this is to seek help from International Media to actually cover my story. My story is minimally picked up by the media here, especially the motoring media as most of them are in the pocket of Honda's advertising department. I wrote to the authority and government agency here, but no one seems to be interested to entertain my complaints either. Meanwhile, Honda enjoys maximum advertising coverage for their Hybrid range by bringing in more Hybrid cars here due to tax incentives.
The victim, the public here then blindly buys a Honda Hybrid without knowing that Honda will turn on them once the dirt hits the fan. This is not about my loss anymore; this is about principles and my rights as a customer. If this was back in the days of glorious Japanese industrial standards and discipline, nothing less of Hara-kiri would be expected from Honda's CEO if a blunder like this were to take place. Today, they can pat each other on the back congratulating on their sales success for their infamous fraudulent green car. Hope this finds you well. Certified used warranty is a scam. Honda sold me a certified used vehicle under their program that guarantees a 151-point inspection. Right out of the dealership, the car had a burnt accessory fuse, missing tire change tools, and garbage in the spare tire well under the trunk. This leads me to believe they did not check all the fuses and they did not check to see if a spare tire was even included with the vehicle, let alone properly inflated. They did not offer compensation for failing to check these points in their original inspection and they did not agree to perform another 151-point inspection at my request. It is now 14 months after I purchased the vehicle and only about 8,000-9,000 miles on the car from since we bought it.
The power steering pump had a major failure; repair is quoted at $740.01. They refuse to repair the vehicle at no cost since non-powertrain warranty only covers 12-months/12,000 miles. I would typically accept this response, but I feel as if the car was never fully inspected like they advertised. A power steering pump should not have a major failure after 8,000-9,000 miles. I should not have this much difficulty explaining my frustration to Honda, a company that prides itself on reliable cars and helpful people, especially with such low mileage on the vehicle.

I was involved in an automobile accident in a 2004 Honda CRV recently and have a couple of questions. My vehicle was setting at a complete stop and was struck in the rear at approximately 55mph. Both myself and my passenger were injured. Neither of the front seat belts engaged to restrain us and even after hitting the vehicle in front of us, no airbags deployed. I am being told that in a high speed rear end collision, the seat belts and airbags are designed not to work? Is this something that your office can validate for me? Thank you for your time.

Purchased a 2012 Honda Civic Sedan on Feb. 9th, 2012. Drove it for 2 days and my lower back started to hurt like crazy. I mean I could barely get off of my couch without being in excruciating pain! Called the dealer and he recommending by a lumbar support at Walgreens. Wow! Great fix! Apparently, they have a bad design and they tell you to buy a lumbar support. I looked on a Honda forum and there were several complaints about the civic seats. Spoke with the General Manager and the dealership is suppose to call me on Monday! Will see what they say! 28-32 MPG in town doesn't do anyone any good if you can't drive the car because the seats are so uncomfortable you can't bare the excruciating lower back pain!

My company purchased a Honda Accord Automatic [P 262, Engine No. K24Z 20001515; Chassis No. G8N000825] on 28-July-2008 from the Dealer in Bardoli, Gujarat, for my use. Ever since then, the car engine cannot be started if by chance the driver runs cabin fan (i.e., fan without AC) for more than 10 to 15 minutes.
This has happened four times at odd places and at odd times. Fed up with the problem, I tried to diagnose the problem my self and to my horror I discovered that the original battery provided by Honda is too small and to camouflage this a plastic encasement has been place around the battery so that the impression given is that the battery is of proper size. In width it is shorter by about 50 mm. I had not expected this from a Japanese Company since I have been of the opinion that Japanese do not cheat their customers.

My mechanic noted that there was something wrong with my CVT automatic transmission around 35K miles and recommended I take it into the dealer asap, which I did. After a number of visits and a lot of runaround, they rebuilt the transmission. At around 75K, it started showing signs of failure again, and unfortunately, this time I delayed until it had around 95K on it, thinking the extended 100,000 mile warranty on just this problem would cover it. No such luck, since it was 100K or 7 years, and as an early adopter buying the car in the fall of 2002, I was 1 or 2 months beyond the 7 yr limit. The dealer offered me no hope and backed that up by getting me rejection from the regional manager.
Calls to American Honda fell on equally deaf ears. Car shakes - violently on hills - when starting from stop since faulty transmission basically has no start up gear. Probably used a plastic motorcycle part or something, who knows. Bottom line is, after driving this piece of junk that never got close to the advertised mileage, I regret ever buying a Honda and never will again. I know some, maybe most of their cars, are fine. Then again, I have friends with an Odyssey that had a similar problem with transmission failure 2x under 100K. Never again. Don't buy Honda, simply because they choose to not stand behind their products. Too bad - another corporation ruined by greed and short-sighted behavior. I'm about ready to trade it in for $1,000 or whatever I can get and buy a new Ford Focus.

2008 Honda Accord LX-P manual transmission: I had problems shifting gears one day, all of a sudden (51,000 miles). I took my Honda to White Allen Honda dealership to find out why. They drove the car also, couldn't figure out why it would shift improperly. To make a long story short, I was told that I have to pay over $1,800 for new clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, flywheel, etc.
I said, "Wait, how can this be at 51,000 miles? Where is my "power train" warranty coverage at for this problem?" I have got no response other than a big bill! I will never own a Honda again. I'm going to tell everyone I can about this! I also called 1-800-Honda customer and no service! Nada!

1) Visor keeps un-glueing and coming apart. It has been replaced 3 times in less than four years, and Honda can't seem to come up with a replacement part that is durable.
2) Full brake job was required. This is acceptable maintenance.
3) Engine mount was missing. This is not the first time things under the hood are missing from this car that support the engine.
4) Shocks and struts were supposedly "leaking" and had to be replaced. Not sure why this was not covered under warranty. Shocks and struts should last a very long time. I drive about 15 miles per day and drive very conservatively with speed no faster than 50 miles. What would cause struts to go bad in such short time, unless they were defective? Should the dealer have replaced these as part of the warranty?

Leather seats worn out. I purchased a new 2008 Accord Exl. Then after 5000 miles the seats started to wear. Brought this up at the Honda dealer and was told it is normal. At 15k miles the driver seat got so bad. I mentioned it to the dealer and I was told there’s nothing they can do. At 40k miles and I am in a process of replacing the driver seat or get rid of car. I need your help on how to deal with this.

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love my car. I was driving down the road and hit a small pothole just like everyone else and all of the airbags deployed for no reason rendering it inoperable. I had to pay to have the car towed and I will have to pay for it to be fixed and I did nothing wrong. This s absolutely absurd.

I had to replace the brakes at 20555 miles, again at 35936 and then again at 53150. Honda accepts no responsibility for this problem. They insult my intelligence by blaming me for the premature wear. I have paid out over $600 on brakes so far. The oil pressure switch went out to at a little over 53000 miles, another $300. Battery also died after 2 years (replaced by warranty). The car has not been very dependable and is expensive to maintain. I want to sue them for the brake problems that they refuse to acknowledge!

This is a 2008 Honda CR-V with current miles of 39,271 which was delivered June 26, 2008 from White Plains Honda Westchester New York.
It is with great concern that I am forced to express my disgust in realizing that the right front strut of the vehicle mentioned above has ceased to be functional, not withstanding that fact that this occurred right after the time of the warranty expiration and with the vehicle only achieving the miles stated above.
I am hereby requesting that special consideration be given to the replacement of the defective strut as an act of good faith, bearing in mind that the vehicle has never been in an accident and is only driven from home to office, to the supermarket and occasionally to transport a family member to and from the airport. In addition, all the service schedules has been adhered to at the New Rochelle Honda Dealership that is closer to my home. I am happy with the performance of the vehicle otherwise, except at approximately 3,000 miles the entire steering assembly had to be replaced due to excessive power steering under steer (very stiff). The matter with the right front strut is unresolved and await your prompt and positive response in this important matter.

I leased a car from Acura (Acura TL). However, my experience was not as great. They scratched my car when it was in service, told me I would get a $250 credit if I fix the car but I can't get my money from them. The service manager at Yonge and Steels location is rude and irresponsible. For the end of lease inspection, they charged me for scratches on the rims although the mileage on the car was only 40000 KM, no accidents and in a very good condition.
I am going to go public about this issue and make sure I would let anyone I can know about the experiences they can go through if they lease any car from Honda or Acura. I believe it is everybody's responsibility to inform others about these kind of problems they might face.

Honda Civic transmission failed. Well maintained car with 107K mileage on it and its transmission failed yesterday. I thought Honda had the name for being the reliable car and last at least 200K miles. Customer service was not interested in helping me anymore. My wife and I, along with grandchildren, were placed in a very life threatening situation on several occasions with vehicle stalling in heavy high speed traffic. The ignition switch failed but turned out to be a very expensive diagnoses and repair which is $2,350.19 to be exact. When I found out there had been a recall, I contacted Honda for reimbursement but to no avail. They mailed me a check for the cost of the switch. No letter of explanation as to why they refused not to pay for the total repair bill. I find this to be very appalling for a company not to respond to a customer's complaint of a "Safety Recall".

This has been my first time dealing with Honda. I leased two cars, Civic and Odyssey. This has been the worst experience in my life. I will never ever recommend buying or leasing or doing any business with Honda. Along the last 6 weeks, I have discouraged at least 15 of my friends from ever thinking in buying or leasing any Honda. Setting my account on line has been a nightmare and trying to make a payment was a nightmare. My temporary license is almost expiring in couple days and dealer is just careless. I made more than 7 visits to the dealer after leasing the two stupid cars to resign papers that were done by mistake. I do hate Honda. I do hate anyone who recommends Honda. I will always mention about my very poor experience and waste of time and discourage everyone I know to do business with Honda. I am seriously considering asking my lawyer to start a lawsuit against Honda for all the hassle and inconvenience I had. I am just waiting to have my temporary registration to expire and will sue you for the hassle and harassment and consequences for not being able to use my cars. Honda just goes to the hill.
In continuation with the worst ever experience I had in my life dealing with Honda and its dealers, two days ago I received a call from the customer service of Honda to follow up regarding my complaint. The person who spoke to me lied to me and mentioned that he arranged for someone from the Midland dealer to bring to my home the renewed registration (plates) that expire on February 8th. He claimed someone will deliver the two temporary registrations today, February 8th.
As expected, he was a liar and the dealer was a liar and no one came to my address. Tomorrow, February 9th, my two cars do not have valid license plates. Honda finances and the dealer who leased the two cars to me have already collected the fees for the lease and for the registration. Starting tomorrow, I will be charging Honda one thousand dollars per day until I receive the registration. The lease deal with Honda is no longer honored and I am not responsible for any payments until registrations are delivered to my address. I am also keeping my legal rights for suing Honda for compensation for the inconvenience and harassment. I will be talking to my lawyer to start legal actions against Honda. This email is a formal notification of your responsibility for the scam I have been exposed to.

I bought a Honda 2006 Civic 2 Dr. coupe - EX on March 1st, 2011, less than a year ago. It has broken down 3 times and all 3 times were the same problem; serpentine belt and belt tensioner. It has cost me money for the repairs as well as the tows. What the hell can I do about this problem? I don't feel safe driving my car anymore. The mileage is only 76,000 and the condition with the exception of the problems described above is excellent.

I purchased a 2012 Accord Crosstour last fall. It is top of the line, two wheel drive. After running 5 full tanks of gasoline, I averaged between 19.375 and 20.375 mpg consistently in that range (half city and half interstate driving). I called Eskridge Honda, where I bought it and told them my problem. I live in Shawnee, OK, about 40 miles East of Eskridge, the Oklahoma City dealer. The person at Eskridge told me to bring it in. I did and when the maintenance manager looked at the mileage, which was then around 340 miles, he said to me, "sorry, Honda will not let me touch this car until it has 10,000 miles on it. I now have over 2,000 miles on the car (02/06/2012). I still get the same mileage per full tank. I think this is one of the best looking cars on the road. It is black outside with black inside trim.
I really don't understand the 10,000 miles requirement before the car can be checked out. I have bought several new cars in my lifetime. My last three cars have been Hondas, an accord (top of the line with navigation) and the one before that was a Civic (top of the line with navigation). I got the kind of gas mileage the sticker stated, very good. They got good gas mileage during the first tank of gas that I ran through them and did the last tank of gas that I ran through them. That has been my experience with every car that I ever bought. Always a new car would get the best gas mileage when it was brand new than later on. This talk about it needs to be broke in first has never panned out with the experience that I have had. I am writing this email mainly to check if this in fact Honda's policy. I would like to hear back from you but not from an attorney. Just tell me if this is your policy that you won't check the car out until it has 10,000 miles on the odometer.

I made an appointment to have an airbag recall inspection done at Brown Honda Service in Toledo, Ohio. I arrived and was then informed that it would take 1 1/2 hours to look at the airbag. It was just an inspection, not a replacement. That is entirely too long for this to take. They should have informed me of the time when I called to make the appointment. I left very unhappy about the lack of customer service. The tech did call to suggest he come and pick up the car, but I was not going to give up my entire Saturday for this.

The passenger side airbag turns off and on with a ding, at random times, while my teenagers have been passengers. The car takes the same route on the way to and from work, with a teenager, and in the morning, the side passenger airbag goes off and on sometimes. One morning it went off and on 31 times, in a 35 minute drive, with the beeping warning. Other mornings, it goes off and on a few times, and some mornings it never goes off. On the way home in the afternoons, it doesn't go off. It was the same drive, with the same people involved. The teenager has only sat in the seat, and has not moved all around in the seat. Also, the car is brand new, and have only had it for less than one month.

I have a 2011 CRV with 24,000 miles in it. (I drive 80 miles a day). In November 2011, I had a software update from a recall, that adjusted the timing. I was getting 32 mpg consistently on the highway, and 28 when I did city driving. After the update, I can't get anything more than 26, city or highway. Honda said to have the dealer check it.
They did, and everything was okay, as far as they were concerned. Then Honda said to have the dealer run a mileage check. The dealer said there is no such thing, other than looking at the mpg indicator. Honda says if it is within the "normal range", then there is nothing they can do. No one can give me a number for "normal range". I keep getting the runaround from Honda. I have the extended warranty as well. This will cost me over $900 a year in added fuel cost at the current prices.

I want to bring into your notice, that the service from the Honda bike showroom near my area is not satisfactory. Since I experienced myself a great discomfort.
1) Two months ago, I went for the service station with a complaint of decrease in efficiency of my brakes. But, I am forced to give my bike for 2nd time since the brakes that worked is totally defective.
2) Recently, today I was called to get my bike, as I went up for routine check. But, today I paid my accounts, and there is no sign of my bike in the servicing area. I am waiting for about 90mins, then a worker bringing my bike, which he took for his personal ride.
I am doctor, and I have postponed my appointments. This is an unresponsive attitude. Please, take some actions regarding this unresponsive actions to the customers. I am owning, Stunner Fi bike. Transmission of 2002 Accord fails April 2011 (at 23,000 miles). Cost is $1867 to fix plus towing. Another part of the transmission (TCC Solenoid) fails January 2012 (at 27,252 miles), costing $864 to replace. Responding for the second time to the summer 2011 Honda recall for an airbag repair—response number 1 in September 2011 and response number 2 in December 2011—I was asked to come on a specific day in January 2012 to have it repaired. I went but Superior Honda of N.O. did not have the part.
When they got the part and fixed it they told me that the OPDS sensor needed repair and I had no airbag coverage at all. I learned later that this problem was under warranty until one day before the repair was made. This was only $300, not the $3,000 transmission fiasco (including a guess at towing cost). I think Superior should extend the warranty one day since if they responded properly to the September request or had the part for the recall work, the OPDS sensor would have been under extended warranty (Spring 2006 letter from Honda).

I have bought a Civic 2007 hybrid in 2009. The car imported from USA by a local dealer. Last year, I noticed IMA amber light. I tried to visit the official agent, who refused to accept it since he is unable to fix "electrical problems " in hybrid cars. I was forced to go to local people who replaced the IMA battery twice till now and I'm still having the problem. I really like Honda cars, but I am fully disappointed. Can I find a solution?

I'm having the same oil consumption problem with the 2008 Honda Accord that many other owners are having. We bought the car at Anderson Ford in Lincoln, Nebraska and before it was time to change the oil the first time, there was no oil on the dipstick when I checked it. My local mechanic checked it out and couldn't find a problem, so I took it in for the software update, but that had already been done. This is the third Honda we've owned and hope we can continue to be a loyal customer, so I would hope to hear some resolution to this problem. I hope it doesn't come down to someone filing a Class Action suit, etc. Thanks.

Windshield was cracked and has chips in it. It was not repaired, dealer said it was repaired. The chips are still there and the headlight on right side out of alignment. Dealer said it was fixed, it wasn't. I had a different tech at the dealer look at the light, and he fixed it with in 5 min. The main issue is the air temperature between the dash vent and floor is greatly different. The dealer said it is normal.
When I picked up my car, I was told I could compare my car to another which I did. The air temp in the second car was I feel it should be the dash air temp and the floor temp was the same temp. The tech also agreed there was an issue. My issue that the dealer is saying things got fixed but really they didn't. What’s up with Checked Flag Virginia Beach, VA.? I will be talking to Checked Flag on Monday, 01 30 2012 about this issues.

I bought a new 2009 Honda Accord in April 2009. On November 18, 2011, I took my car to Crest Honda in Nashville, TN to look at the leather on the drivers seat for premature wear and verify coverage for repair or replacement under warranty. The car had 35,893 miles on it and I had owned it for ~31months. Crest took a photo of the premature wear and the service rep said he would review my issue with the service provider.
In December, Honda customer service called me and stated wear on leather seats are considered normal wear and tear and therefore not covered under warranty. I intend to file a BBB claim against Crest Honda and Honda. By denying my claim, they are admitting the leather will show significant signs of wear before 36,000 miles. Leather should not be considered a wear and tear item but should be covered under defective materials if it shows wear within the warranty period.

I purchased a new 2009 Honda Accord Coupe, 4 cylinder, and after about 35,000 miles, I started experiencing excessive oil consumption. Oil is being lost at the rate of 1 qt. per 1,000 miles. I do not see any oil on my garage floor, so I can only assume it is burning it slowly. This is my second Accord, by the way, and I drive 25,000 miles per year, so I know darn well what the usage rate is. I went online to see if any other people had experienced this, and was surprised to find out that many other owners are having this problem, all across the US, in fact. The car was under warranty, so I called American Honda, and they told me to take it to a dealer, so that a diagnostic could be run, but they admitted that there was a recall for this problem. They said there was a software update, which should solve the problem.
I was highly skeptical that software could fix it, but I played along. The next day, I took the car to Herb Chambers Honda in Burlington, MA for a diagnostic. They didn't see anything in the codes, and no visible signs of leakage. They did the software upgrade, and changed the oil, and told me to come back when (if) the oil level hit the low point on the dip stick. At about 2,700 miles, 1/27/12, the oil light came on today. I took the car back today, and they told me it had a little over 2 quarts of oil in it. It lost roughly 2 quarts per 1,000 miles. There was no change after the software upgrade at all. Actually, there was a change. My gas mileage went from high 20's to low 20's on the highway. They actually made the car worse.
The dealer told me that 1 quart per 1,000 miles is normal for any car. I almost fell over, when they said that. In all my years of driving, including cars from the 60's and 70's, I have never seen a car come anywhere close to that. They actually thought I would buy that story. It is unbelievable! So, I called American Honda, to speak with the case manager that had been assigned to my case, and was expecting him to be all apologetic, and say that they would resolve the problem.
Not a chance! He used the same line the dealer did, with the 1 qt. per 1,000 miles being normal usage. I was outraged! I just couldn't believe it. A multiple car Honda owner, and they didn't care the slightest about me, or their product. They could have made a customer for life by fixing it, but instead, they made an enemy for life. Now, I'm stuck with a 2 year old piece of junk, and have no choice but to trade it in. I'll never buy another product from Honda, ever again, and I will be sure tell my story to everyone I come in contact with.

On 23 December I was in an accident with my 2011 CRZ, a very luck buck jumped in my line of traffic. I actually have three complaints against Honda.
1. As my vehicle was totally disabled, I called Honda Road Side Assistance. Because of the incompetence of the employee that took my call it took over one hour before a tow truck was dispatched. It is my understanding that service call does not originate in Alberta; that was a huge problem because of my location the gentleman on the phone refused to call a tow truck until he could find me on his map. I told him to just call a local tow truck company and they would know actually where I was. From the time I place the call until the tow truck came it was almost 2 hours.
2. I phoned Sherwood Park Honda and asked to speak to a manager with regards to road side assistance. He said it was not his problem and I would have to wait to get a call from Road Side Assistance and I could log my complaint and promptly hung up--no customer service.
3. This is the biggie for me. On January 12, 2012 I was informed by the company that was fixing my car that Honda Canada did not have the parts for my car and I could be waiting until possibility the end of February. I telephoned Honda customer service at 888 946 6329 and spoke to a Dennis and told him my problem. He said that he could not help me. If it were a warranty problem then that would be different. I informed that I did not think I had to ask the question, "If my car is in accident, do you have the parts to fix it?" because I assure I would not have purchased the car. He asked what company was fixing my car and put me on hold for 45 minutes so he could speak to the company that was fixing my car. He came back on line and told me that he had spoken to them and that they had all the parts but one and if would be next.
I asked him again if Honda Canada could help and he very rudely told me no. I then told him I wanted to speak to his supervisor and he flatly refused and said it was his call and the answer was no. Funny thing the company fixing my car called the very next day and they never talked to Dennis. I am extremely with the after care I have received from Honda. I purchased this car because I thought they were a company I could trust. Apparently not. I can assure this will be my one and only Honda.

On their "Customer Satisfaction Survey", I have indicated several times that I am dissatisfied with the location of the spare tire on the 2011 Honda Odyssey. Several times, I requested a phone contact from a Honda representative. That never happened. Their letter states Honda wants to ensure delivery "of the highest level of service". The lack of response contradicts this statement.

I purchased a used/leased 2008 Honda Accord EX-L with leather in 7/2011 with < 40,000 miles. Within a few weeks, I noticed discoloration and what appeared to be wear of portions of surface on the driver's seat. Basically, the dealer I bought it from, the dealer I normally work with for service and Honda of America (HoA) customer service, all have repeatedly said "normal wear and tear, -past warranty." They (HoA) offered a $1,000 fix with a discount to $450. Woopie ding! I have been a loyal Honda accord owner for over 20 years based on quality and customer service. What I have experienced recently was not customer service. Sad, very sad. BTW, I have friends who just sold their used Honda Accord with ~210,000 and the leather looked as good as it did when they bought the car!

I have a Honda CBR250R bought before 5 or 6 months and I’m in Chennai, India. Now I’ve done 6000 km in it and the engine noise is too high and before 800 km I finished regular company service, but engine is different and too high. When the sound started changing the pick up of the bike was dramatically decreased and the top speed of the bike would be 135km/hour. This is a shame.

I could not see due to solar glare and accidentally hit a 4-foot steel pole at about 10 miles an hour. I was wearing gloves because it was very cold that morning. My 2003 Honda Odyssey airbag deployed and the chemical from the airbag burned holes through both gloves. I did suffer minor burns but basically the gloves protected me from very serious burns. According to Honda, based on my VIN, I do not have an airbag that necessitated recall. This is my 3rd Honda in the course of 20 years and I am very disappointed. I also feel so fortunate that it was a cold morning when the airbag went off.

On a high speed, trying to over-take, the car just slowed down and it just went off. Getting to the road side mechanic for a first aid, it was discovered that the top cylinder is spoiled. It was changed and the car started, but it has refused to go on slow. The car was taking to an auto-tap machine for diagnostic, ten problems were detected and rectified, yet it still persisted with not slowing. Each time it approaches a hold up or bumps, it will go off. I have tried all mechanics but it’s not working out. So what are your suggestions, please? It’s about a week now.

On Jan 2, 2012, I went to Valley Honda in Monroeville to purchase windshield wipers. When I went to pay for the repairs, I discovered that I did not have my wallet. I went out to my car to look for it because I thought maybe I left it inside. After discovering it was not there, I called my brother's office because I had just left his business, to see if I had left it there. He called me back and informed me that it was not there.
The service person took me to a customer service agent named Anita ** to see if she would approve me going home to get the money and then return to pay my bill. She stated that she could not approve my request and it must be done by someone else. The service agent left to find a manager. Ms. Anita stated to me that this type of request is never approved. I replied to her that they would have to do something because I did not have any money on me. In response, she stated to me, "Well, you knew that you did not have any money when you came in here." I was shocked at her statement. I reminded her that I lost my wallet and was quite distraught about that and asked her how she could make a statement like that to me. Without even looking at me, she replied with the most nonchalant and cold response, “Well, I apologize. I guess I was out of line." I was so upset that I only responded by saying to her, “You certainly were out of line.”
I am 67 years old and have never experienced this type of careless response from someone. I called Mr. Jim ** twice to speak with him regarding this incident, but was unable to do so. My brother who is also a car dealer called to speak to Mr. Jim ** and also left messages for him to call. He did not return any calls. I feel that this statement was made to me because I am Afro-American.

My 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 had transmission failure at 147k miles. I had the transmission rebuilt but not by Honda dealership. I serviced this car well and everyone knows there is a defect that will happen again. So I will be getting another car before my warranty from the tranny specialist expires (2 years or 24k). This cost me about $2800 for the rebuild.

2009 Honda Odyssey purchased out right. From the very first day this van pulled slightly to the left and would on regular occasions pop the steering wheel right out of my hands. I took it to the dealer so many times I lost count. I even had it reported to the general manager for doing a service test drive on the van. They’re claiming nothing was wrong. Yet this would happen out of the blue and catch me off guard. I felt very unsafe in this van and they would not trade it or swap it out.
I now wonder if I had financed it if they would have paid better attention. The consequences were I got fed up with Saratoga Honda messing me around. The van spent more time there than in my possession, so I traded it for a Hyundai and have had zero issues. In fact the service department in Queensbury, NY is far better than Honda in Saratoga. More polite more knowledgeable of their product and they treat me like a human being not an empty-headed female which is the way I felt I was being treated in Saratoga. No more business from me. I take my money elsewhere.

I just purchased my Honda Accord from Hillside Honda and I was screwed. They took my deposit money first and start to play with my head about the monthly payment like if I put more money down, my monthly payment will be less. They told me that I will get six years warranty and I don't have to pay anything but they also charged me for that.
My salesman was Mr. Rana ** I will never ever go to Hillside Honda and won't recommend anyone to go there.

My 2003 Black Honda Accord has lost clear coat on hood, roof, trunk and now some of its sides. It looks bad and it's growing even bigger. Is there any recall on honda for this paint error? I read that every one is complaining about the same error on the same area of the honda. I have seen on other honda's with my own eyes with the same error on the same spots with same issue. In June 2011, I was hit by another car that changed lanes into the right passenger side of my 2006 Honda minivan, pushing me head on into the concrete barrier dividing the oncoming lanes of traffic. My driver's side airbag deployed. The airbag deployment broke my right wrist and severely lacerated my left thumb cutting through an artery. I am on Coumadin, so the bleeding was quite severe.

I purchased a brand new 2010 Honda Accord from Elk Grove Honda last year. Recently I heard a grinding noise just before I started the engine. I took my car to Elk Grove Honda for repair and was told they already knew a lot of Honda Accords have this problem. They will not repair it as this is how the Honda engineers design it and I should turn my ignition key very fast in order to ignore this noise. I did some research and found out this problem is caused by the bad VTC actuator in many of the Honda Accord model. The Elk Grove Honda still refused to repair my defective car even it is still under warranty.

I have a 2010 Honda Accord EX-L 4 Cyl (45,000 miles and bought new) and it burns oil between changes. I have spoken to mechanics, friends and family and everyone is in agreement that cars do not burn oil unless they are old or have a mechanical issue. The first time I brought it to my dealer's attention, the service rep. agreed that was normal. This was in Aug. of this year. They set me up on an oil consumption test. Also, I should mention that when it begins to burn the oil, my oil lamp light indicator flickers and my engine makes a tapping noise when I accelerate every so often.
I went back in 2,000 miles later for a check and was told that the oil was fine and that the software update they preformed in August should take care of my issue. (I've seen no advertised recalls on this yet they have the software update out there) At 6,000 miles, the lamp light came on again and my engine began making the tapping noise. I was ready for my normal change anyhow. Took it in to my dealer, explained I was still having the same issue. They found it to be 3/4 a quart low and their mechanic said this was normal for 6,000 miles of driving.
My concern though is that my power train warranty will be up in another year or so and I am worried my engine has already suffered damage since it makes that tapping noise. Service rep said at the latest oil change that he has seen 5-10 of these cases come through and that the software update should remedy it. I am going to formally write Honda so they will at least have my concern on file. Service rep said I'd be highly considered if I needed my engine replaced after my warranty is up since I have been documenting everything. But overall, I am disgusted that I pay what I pay a month for a brand that is supposed to be excellent yet I am having issues. If this continues and nothing is done, I can promise I won't be buying another Honda and I'll make sure all around me know my experiences.

I have called Honda customer service numerous times with regards to my airbag light permanently remaining on. I have verified with several mechanics, that apparently, this is a faulty seatbelt buckle that needs to be replaced. When I mentioned this to Honda, they advised me that they may be able to assist with "something". They won't mention what that something is, and on the condition that I take my vehicle to a Honda dealership for confirmation.
While I can appreciate the fact that Honda has to verify this, I don't believe I should have to pay over $100 just for a technician to verify what they already know to be an issue. This should actually be recalled by Honda. I have 3 colleagues that all own Hondas and we all have the same problem.
When you contact Honda, asking if this is part of a recall, they deny it. What will it take for Honda to take ownership and replace these faulty buckles? Does someone need to die?

I have taken a Honda CBF stunner bike. I am facing an engine problem, beating sound, which have engine warranty for 5 years. But I am facing an engine problem and they are telling me to pay RS9000 for the repair. They are telling that they won't give the warranty. Even they are not even caring when we went to the show room near Naredmet, Hyderabad. We are not satisfied with the service which you are providing to the customers. There was a problem with the 2008, 2009 Honda Accord rear brakes and consumers were compensated for replacing them. I have a 2010 (which was probably manufactured in 2009) Accord and the same problem has just occurred. I too would like some reimbursement for this Honda problem.

Braking problem... There was a sudden problem in the front braking of CBR250R vehicle number: **** chassis number: **** and Engine number: ****. The mechanics of Todi Honda situated in Kolkata say that the pistons and some other parts of the disc brakes are not working and hence needs to be replaced. There is no availability of spare parts here. My vehicle is under their hands from 16th November 2011 and still there is no solution to it. I am facing a lot of problems without my vehicle. I have a 2001 Honda Accord with 65,000 miles. The first transmission was replaced at 27,500 miles, and was under warranty. Now, my second transmission needs to be replaced at 37,500 miles, and is not covered by the warranty. I have contacted the regional representative, who only saw it was a 2001, and refused to assist in any way. I then contacted their customer service department who filed a claim for me, but a day later called, and gave me the same response. There will be no "goodwill" gesture on the part of Honda.
I have since written a letter to the president of North American Honda, but have not received a response back. I have since had the transmission replaced on the 2001 Honda by a transmission company, for approximately $1,600 plus tax. I still feel that as a goodwill gesture, Honda should be more flexible in a situation, where both transmissions did not have very much miles.

It started when my check engine light was on while I was driving on the freeway. The car started to jerk once in a while. Luckily I got home safe not to mention my toddler was in the backseat plus I'm pregnant, too. My Honda Accord Coupe V6 is a 2001 model, but it only has 64,000 to it. My transmission needed to be replaced. I had contacted Honda Corporation to see if they can help me out since one of our friend had the same problem with a 1999 model. The case couldn't even hold a chance because the insensitive case worker told me I had no chance with a 10-year old car and the warranty was expired 3 years ago. I never received the warranty letter. Now I have to make a decision to pay the $4900 to install the new transmission or walk away from my car that hasn't been with the 64,000 miles to it.

I have a 03 Element and love the vehicle. I was getting ready to buy a second one until I found out it is $726.00 to replace a starter, a freaking starter. I will not own another one. And I will trade this one for a Toyota by tomorrow. I think it is pretty pathetic that you have to remove a perfectly good manifold to get to the starter, who was the brain child of that design. I thought you built cars to last and to be low maintenance. Well, if one starter cost that much, how is it low maintenance? That’s very, very sad. Honda has lost my business. I have had a CRV, Civic, and Element. Not anymore!

I’m really disappointed with the service of Honda Activa. I had a lot of expectations but Honda Activa has not fulfilled my needs. I have sent my complaint to the customer care but customer care is not an initiative of the consumer's grievance so I have decided to send my complaints to the National Consumer Helpline, Grievance Redressal, Ministry of Consumers Affairs, CNBC Pehradaar, director of Honda Activa.

I have paid Rs. 55,500 for purchasing of Activa Honda white color and after paying a huge amount I'm very much frustrated with the service of Honda Activa neither sub-dealer nor dhingra automobile dealer is hearing the voice of the victim here. Kindly help me in this matter. I have purchased Honda Activa on 16/08/2011 and chassis no. **. Kindly register my vehicle in company records. I am disappointed that within a month the Activa Honda side stand had broken by default and also my Activa Honda gives the average of 30 km/per liter after first service.
I want to know the replacement process. I have to suffer from two major factors, I have paid Rs. 55.500/- for purchasing this Honda Activa with accessories from JMV Automobile, the sub dealer of Honda Activa and I requested them to change my foot side stand cover and they have told me that they will not repair or replace it. This is in response to the gentleman who had to replace the rear brakes on his wife's Accord. There was a class action suit filed in which Honda agreed to pay. I had the same thing happened on my ‘09 model and they reimbursed me for the full amount of the repairs after I submitted the receipts. I believe it was up to $150. The payoff does not come from Honda—it must be done thru the administrator of the suit.
I have just purchased my second Accord EX-L and couldn't be happier! I had the first for three years and I just picked up the second one last night. I have been very pleased with the quality of the car. I had absolutely no issues with the ‘09 model and I am hoping my luck holds out with the 2012!

My mom owns a Honda and her car recently had a problem with the transmission (I think). She went to the Honda dealership in Battle Creek, Michigan to get a check up on her car and they declined all services. It seems like a blacklist system, but only for my mom.
In the previous maintenance, they put a small dent on the car and declined. My mom isn't American and her English is hard to understand but she has a very good credit score. So what kind of service is that? I am disappointed on how Honda dealership can decline services for Honda owners who can't get their Honda repaired from Honda.

My wife took her 2010 Accord in for a recall, a software change. During that visit it was discovered that her rear brake pads were worn down to 3mm. The front pads were fine at 9mm. So at 13,900 miles she had to have the rear pads replaced at a cost of $212.00.
Since she drives an average of 12,000 miles a year, she'll need a brake replacement annually. No help from Honda for equipping the car with defective brakes.

I own a 2011 Honda Accord of which I bought brand new in May of this year. Within three days of buying, I turned on the A/C and it wouldn't work. I took it in and they said that it wasn't plugged in from the factory. The funny thing is that I had the checklist from the factory and the A/C was signed off as working. Hmm! The second incident was when the car had about 3,000 miles and the check engine light came on. I took it in and they said that my O2 sensor was bad and they needed to replace it. Upon switching out the O2 sensor, they realized that the VTEC solenoid had a leak and it was leaking oil over the O2 sensors destroying it. They then replaced them both.
My Honda now has about 10,000 miles and the A/C quit working again within the past two weeks. I took it in today and they told me that a small rock must have flown through my grill puncturing my A/C condenser and all of the freon leaked out. Now, I need multiple parts replaced. The cost is about $960 and it is not covered by the warranty. The serviceman told my husband that he sees this happening a lot. It is so frustrating to purchase a Honda that is supposed to be one of the most reliable cars and it is constantly failing. I am afraid to pay the grand to fix it only to have it possibly happen again. I think that I have counted eight times that it has been in/out of the shop to either be assessed or fixed. I am so done with Honda's!

Honda Customer Service is extremely disappointing. Items offered/described on their website imply suitability for all--not true. Example: Website describes 'Backup Sensors' as "Help yourself in or out of a tight spot while helping to protect your paint; Four Sensors emit audible beeps into the cabin while you back up, signaling objects as you approach them. Beeps quicken as your vehicle gets closer to objects. Note: Back-up sensor attachment is required for installation. ** Polished Metal Metallic; MSRP: $265.32. "
On the purchase of a 2011 CR-V, we had backup sensors installed for $857. Turns out that the emitted beeps are very high-frequency which my husband cannot hear. (According to The National Institute of Health (NIH) 15 percent (26 million) of Americans between the ages of 20-69 cannot hear high pitched tones because of military service (in my husband's case dating back to 1965), etc. ) We would not have requested this safety feature installed on our new CR-V, the third new Honda my husband has purchased since 1997, unless we considered it important. We are a retired couple on a fixed income, and we think long and hard prior to spending this amount of money on discretionary items. Honda personnel with whom we have dealt offered us one option--go to an after market auto shop and see if they could rig up flashing lights to supplement the (inaudible) sound. Are they serious? In backing up, we have to look forward to see flashing lights!!! What about the sides of the vehicles where the backup sensors are supposed to ensure protection?

Last month, I can't remember the exact date, something has happen to my car. My son, 7 years of age, named, Muhammad Afdhal **, while playing with center rear's seat belt has accidentally squeezed his stomach. My husband had tried to loosen the seat belt but unfortunately it further tightened his stomach. The situation at the time was so tensed because I can see my son facing difficulties in breathing.
Two peoples around who were trying to help my husband said that we have no choice but to cut the seat belt. Without further delay, my husband ran to the nearest petrol station for cutter. Luckily, he managed to get it and straight away cut the belt. My husband managed to rescue my son but it became a nightmare for me because your service center had informed me that Honda is not liable to replace the belt. In other words, I have to pay by myself.

My Honda CRV 2005 has a failed ABS (ABS light, warning light and VSA light is on while running). The present mileage is only 48,754km. I am the first owner and I purchased it brand new, well-taken cared. The dealer said, ABS system is only covered for 3 years or 60,000km, which ever comes first. I feel that it is not right. The ABS brake system life depends on usage, not time. The word "which ever comes first" is wrong and against the consumer's benefit.

My 2008 certified used Honda Accord (SDN/4 DR, EX-L) was hit hard from the front left side and none of my airbags deployed. I was at a stand still (at a stop sign), the fast oncoming vehicle crashed into me causing me to skid 10 feet, knocking my front bumper off, shattering my windows and I have been told my front axle is broke. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol recommended I file a complaint since none of my airbags deployed.

I bought a Honda City, which have 4 alloy wheels but I was surprise to see that the 5th wheel, which was kept in the back was an ordinary wheel. I immediately contacted the sales people but they said they can't do anything, as this has been provided by the company. Just imagine, in case of puncture, you will be driving a car with 3 alloy wheels and one ordinary wheel, which will create serious imbalance to the car thus violating/compromising the safety standards of the car. I am sure that Honda does not do this in any developed country like the US, Japan or countries in Europe.

I bought a 2008 Honda Accord in July 2010, and since then, I have been complaining about the rattling noise coming from the rear end, and every time they fix it, the noise keeps coming back. Now, the car has run out of warranty, and when I complained to American Honda, they assigned someone to look into this matter. Her name is Lauren and she is extremely rude and unprofessional. I am currently driving Honda Jazz model year 2009. Two years ago and on its first year, driving was okay until I found that they seem to be having a transmission problem. I have sent my car and reported the problem that I am facing. Honda Sri Utama advised me to change my engine oil and all four new tire, which doesn't make sense at all.
After spending a lot of money to do so, I am still facing the same problem with the transmission. I went back and reported but they require me to meet the engineer from Honda Malaysia. He couldn't solve my problem but claims that there's nothing wrong with the transmission. I've checked with several street workshop and there is a problem with the transmission which Honda is denying. I went back to Honda and the dealer I bought the car from, finally said that they do not know what is the problem.
This is cheating. We spent a lot of time and money to buy a vehicle and all we get is be cheated and not a satisfaction.

My fobs will no longer open the passenger and rear doors on the second click. The Fobs continue to open the driver’s side door and lock all doors. Nor will the key open these same doors on the second click. The vehicle is a 2006 Honda Ridgeline. I am retired, and I cannot afford to take the car to the dealer for a fix.

Exploding rear window on 2003 Honda Odyssey. This occurred on Sept. 24, 2011 at approximately 1 p.m. in Calgary, Alberta. It was a beautiful clear day, the temperature at the time was about 20 -23 degrees Celsius. My van was parked on a residential street facing eastbound.
Earlier in the day, I tried to clean my exterior car windows with a wet cloth. While I didn't have any problems wiping down the north-facing side windows and the front window, I wasn't able to wash the south-facing side and rear windows because they were too hot to touch! As I moved the wet cloth over the windows, the water would dry on the glass instantly, leaving streaks. The heat of the windows made it impossible for me to continue washing them without burning my fingers or hands so I abandoned the task for the time being and left the sliding doors open for about 30 minutes to cool down the interior. A knob/latch is missing from the left side rear window so it doesn't close completely and creates an air gap.
About two hours later, I drove to a self-serve car wash to wash down the van completely. I had my dog with me, who was tethered in and laying down on the seat directly behind the driver's seat.
I started by walking around and spraying the soap solution over the vehicle. After adjusting the control to rinse, I began washing the front of the van when I heard one very loud "pop" from somewhere behind the van. When I got to the back of the vehicle, I noticed that the explosion (implosion? ) was my rear window! It was completely crumbled, but was still mostly intact. There were two holes in the glass, one in each bottom corner. I saw larger pieces of broken glass (approximately 1"- 2") on the ground in the wash bay and more pieces inside the van.
As I opened or shut the doors and drove out of the wash bay, the glass continued to fall down from the frame and into the back well area. As I was parked inside the car wash bay, the window didn't break from flying rocks or other road debris and there's no obvious evidence that I was a target for a BB gun, slingshot...or worse.

I came for oil change and tire rotation on 9/23. After the services were performed, as soon as I went out, the "check tire" symbol came on my dashboard. This morning, I came to the dealer again and they took the van. After an hour, they said they fixed it. After riding 2-3 miles again, the "check tires" symbol came up. I again drove back to the dealer and they said the tire has to be replaced now. There was absolutely no problem with my van when I came yesterday for oil change and tire rotation. If there was a problem, they should have caught the problem on my 2 visits (within 7 hours). If I have to come 3 times in a span of 18 hours to a Honda dealer, what quality of service the dealer is providing?

PAX Tires and Wheels - It is very inconsiderate of any auto company to equip a vehicle with this type of equipment. The only way to repair a flat is from a Honda dealer. If your loved ones have any tire trouble, where are they going to get help readily? The tires are ridiculously overpriced and do not last very long.
This is my first experience with a Honda Odyssey Touring equipped with the PAX wheel and tire. They are a real disappointment. As matter of fact, it was my first experience with any Honda. I really enjoy the van but I think the PAX tire is wrong and some remedy or recall should happen. I am the third owner of this Honda Odyssey and it is in excellent shape and fun to drive, but tire replacement is ridiculous.

After my accident and insurance inspection, there were four to five damaged parts which were to be replaced (caused due to accident) and was told that within seven to ten working days, I will get the car back. I have been waiting everyday but things seem to proceed further.
Today, after three weeks of continuous chase, I finally get an answer from Ayub ** (General Manager of Hall Mark Honda) that the spare parts are still not available and will let me know by tomorrow for the exact status. Ayub also mentioned that I may also put up a complaint on customer care. Today, I have made a complaint to the Customer Care--my complaint number is **.
In the beginning, when we were to give the vehicle for servicing, why didn't they check with their big company for the spare parts prior to giving commitments to us? I require my car for commuting to work on a daily basis and with such delays and poor service, it is really not worth buying a Honda car.
I have gotten sick and tired with no correct feedback, following-up with the branch, and getting atrocious responses like, "we shall get back to you in two hours" or "the responsible person is not available." I really think that Honda is testing our patience. Such inadequate service and inefficient staff! We will no longer seek or expect any help from your branch's disinterested individuals, who seems to be highly skilled ** jugglers.
Kindly consider my dissatisfaction and disappointment with such useless services and try to solve my query soon. It is suffice to say that I have now given up on my futile and foolhardy quest but I still hope to receive some kind of service from you. I am awaiting immediate response.

I am Raj ** and I am working in a private company. I purchased a new Honda bike to sell our house which is in Delhi. I purchased a Honda Shine from Race Honda Patpargani, New Delhi. Date of sale was August 14,2011. But it is not running straight on the road, there is a problem bubbling in my bike. I checked the bike the next day, August 15, 2011.
In the showroom, they loose the screw of the handle and told me that my bike was okay. But the problem is the same. When I went back there the next day, August 17, 2011, I asked why is it having the same problem. The showroom manager told me that I should go to their workshop. So I went to the workshop on August 24, 2011 and met the workshop manager, Mr Ashwani **. He told me that the rear rim found the band because of the speed breaker and digs, he said they cannot do anything for me and I have to pay around Rs 3,700 for it. I was shocked when I heard it. Then I decided to complain to the Honda Bike Company.
The telephone numbers are 2290911, 2290912, 2290913. I do not feel good about them, compared to other company's customer care. But after all that, one Honda engineer Mr. Umesh came, I was hoping he could help me. But he was so busy with his cellphone and he didn't listen to a single word I said, he just told me that my bike is not under warranty so I need to pay for the repair. The parking charge was Rs50 extra, so I was so unhappy that I asked him why do I have to pay for parking and a rim. Then he told me that I have purchased a Honda bike, and that he will not give me a favor.
After all that, I think I took the wrong decision to purchase a Honda Shine. My bike is still in the workshop. What can I do now. Can I fire myself?

Our 2003 Accord (that we service at regular intervals and did everything the Honda dealer recommended) had the camshaft literally start coming apart. The damage to the motor was very costly. Because it was over 100,000 miles, the dealer told us our only recourse was with Honda Motors. I contacted Todd ** and he said it was just a normal wear and tear, and then said he was sorry that he couldn't help us. Normal wear and tear? A camshaft? I guess the words manufacturer's defect isn't in Honda's nomenclature.

The entire air conditioning system on my brand new 2007 Accord had to be replaced. Wolfchase Honda said that the a/c system was overcharged by someone. I have never charged the system and Wolfchase Honda is the only one that has ever serviced the vehicle. Wolfchase Honda and Honda America would not help. I took it to another Honda dealership and the repairs ran nearly $3,000. I have purchased several new Hondas in the past but my last purchase was a Ford. I am through with Honda!

My 2004 Honda CRV-EX air conditioner stopped working suddenly. It worked well one day and blew hot air the next. I went to Go-Honda Dealer in Westminster, Co. They said that I need a whole new air conditioner system, which costs around $3,000.00. The compressor goes out and send metals to the lines and contaminates the whole system. This is a complaint from a lot of Honda CRV owners. Even the dealership said that they see this a lot of times. I also saw numerous complaints on websites.

Recently, I bought (April 2011) a 1997 Honda Passport with a blown head for next to nothing. I purchased the vehicle for my two kids to get back and forth from college. I then dumped a couple grand into fixing it. Then in June, I noticed big chunks of rusted steel on my driveway under where the Passport was parked. I crawled underneath it, only to find that the chassis was so rusted out in places that I could place my whole fist into the holes (especially right under the passenger seat/door). I was also able to grab handfuls of rusted and corroded steel from inside the cavity along the chassis.
I immediately called the Honda Recall Hotline, and they indicated to me that there was no recall for the 1997 Chassis, but there was a recall starting in 1998 on the frame. “Not to worry”, they said. I was to take it to the dealer to have them access the situation and determine next steps. So, I parked the vehicle in the driveway, and prohibited any one from driving it. I have been so busy with work, but I finally got around to calling the dealer in my area (Roush). They instructed me to set an appointment for them to do a diagnostic check. Oh, and that they will have to charge me for the diagnostic analysis. I told them that it was a bunch of bunk having it; I did not want to pay them any fees. All one has to do is get on their knees; look under the car, and come to the diagnosis that I came to that there is obviously a defect for the steel to be so rusted, that you could put your fist into several areas. Obviously, you do not need to be a rocket surgeon to figure it out, nor do you need to place it on a rack to make an official diagnosis, let alone charge me for it. I told them that I would send them 1000 FREE diagnostic pictures that they could use for their analysis.
Since that did not get me anywhere, I asked for Honda's number because I wanted to chat with a regional/district manager in order to obtain approval for the dealer to waive the diagnostic fee. I got the runaround from Heather in recalls. She said that I needed to go back to the dealer; since my vehicle had no recall, she could not obtain approval for a free diagnostic check. She also would not provide me with the district manager's name for Honda. She said to me that I needed to get that information from the dealer.
I then proceeded to voice my concern on this, and told her that the vehicle isn't safe to be driving even to the dealer. She offered absolutely no concern, nor any valuable customer service. Based on this Honda experience and previous experience with a GMC vehicle, I can tell you GMC's customer service department blows Honda's away. So, now I have to call Roush back in order to obtain the Honda district manager's name and number. It makes absolutely no sense and is totally a runaround. I bought the Passport because it was a Honda, only to find out that it is an ISUZU.
Honda evidently paid ISUZU to manufacture the Passports which was Honda's entrance into the SUV market. Now I have what I thought was a Honda, which is actually an ISUZU. No wonder why the frame is crap. If you happen to own a Honda Passport manufactured in the years 1995 (first year), 1996 and 1997, check your chassis. If anyone else has this problem, please let me know if you have been able to rectify it with Honda.

I had purchased 2011 Honda Accord EX-L V6 (non-navigation) at Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos, CA. So far, I had problems ever since the purchase. A tire blew out a week after purchase (paid 200 for tire from dealer, 165 at Costco). A Variable Cylinder Management problem locked up the car this month on August 9th, 2011. And the A/C system leaked and no longer worked on August 27th, 2011. The car has only 27,000 miles on it. And the car is within warranty. A brake pad in the front right caliper was also cracked and replaced by another dealer.
I am thoroughly disappointed with the workmanship of this 2011 vehicle or 8th generation series Accord. My past Honda Accord 2005 was purchased new, an EX-L V6 (non-navigation). It worked without problems or mechanical difficulties, with the exception after 135,000 miles for a software update for a fast idle relearn on the ECU. That car was sold with 212,000 miles without these problems as compared to the 2011 Honda Accord. The only difficulty observed was with the mechanical workmanship of a different dealership from Norm Reeves, where a replaced engine, mount from wear and tear, was not tightened down properly.

My daughter was involved in an accident on Saturday, August 27th. She's driving a 2003 Honda Accord 4-door. In the morning, she had a flat tire. So, one of the tires is just a spare tire. On her way home from work that day, she took Highway 54. She spun around, hitting the railings. The four tires blew. The passenger side airbag deployed even without a passenger. The driver side airbag did not deploy.

My recent experience with Honda has been beyond disappointing. I have never owned a Honda before, but I had heard good things about their reliability and that Honda was a reputable company that stood behind their product. Sadly, I have found none of this to be true. I will never purchase another Honda, and I have advised my friends and family to avoid making a purchase they will regret. I have also filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs.
On July 20, during the hottest stretch of weather we have had in Vermont in a long time, my air conditioner quit. I looked it up on the internet to see if there was a quick fix. I was hoping maybe it was a fuse or something simple and I was surprised to find report after report and complaint after complaint about the air conditioner compressors quitting in the Honda CR-Vs. I went to a local garage, where they verified it was indeed the air conditioner compressor.
Since my mileage was beyond the warranty, but the car is only a 2008, I called Honda to see if they could offer any assistance with replacing this very expensive part and was advised that I needed to have a dealer diagnose the issue. After making a 45-minute trip to a dealer for a 5-minute appointment, to verify the problem as Honda asked me to do. I again called to see if I could receive some assistance, anything, I was just hoping they'd pay half of it, just something to help me out and make a goodwill gesture. I spoke to a woman who was extraordinarily unhelpful and unsympathetic. She just kept repeating it was beyond warranty.
I fully understand what a warranty is, and I explained to her that if it were under warranty I would have just taken it to a dealer in the first place and had it fixed! If my car were the only one with this problem, I would have accepted it as my bad luck and gone on my merry way. However, my research has shown that this has happened to many Honda owners and the part appears to be defective! The right thing for Honda to do would be to accept some of the responsibility for this defective part and offer owners some sort of assistance in making the repair.
It makes me terribly sad that your company has chosen to not do the right thing. While trying to scrape up the money to have my air conditioner fixed, I had to borrow a friend's car (a very reliable, older model Subaru with a working air conditioner), in order to take my 90-year-old father to the doctor because he is unable to tolerate the heat due to his age and his health. I was embarrassed to tell him that my 3-year-old car had such an expensive issue already. If it weren't for the necessity of having air conditioning to drive my elderly parents around safely, I wouldn't even have had it fixed. In Vermont, we don't use air conditioning very often, which adds to the evidence that there is something wrong with this part as it couldn't possibly be overused in three short years. Especially in a state with such a short summer.
I have enclosed a copy of the bill for my repair in the hope that your company will reconsider and take this opportunity to do the right thing and reimburse me for a repair that I should never have had to make.

I bought a brand new Honda Accord SE in July 2002. At 38000 miles, the transmission leaked fluid. The warranty covers only $36,000. After I talked to the manager of the dealership (transmission should last for only 38,000 miles), I paid 500.00 labor fee to install a re-manufactured transmission. At 71,000, the transmission failed again. I got a free replacement from the dealer. Now at 120,000, the transmission was repaired, but it failed again. One Honda with four transmission! What kind of cars Honda is providing to the consumers? Does Honda know anything about Six Sigma quality standard? By Six Sigma, there are supposedly no more than 4 bad cars for every 1,000,000 cars. I am completely disappointed in the quality of Honda Accord cars.

I bought a new 2009 Honda Accord EX. After a few days, I realized that the driver's seat was very uncomfortable. It can be adjusted in three different ways, so I assumed I just didn't have it adjusted properly. Over the next three weeks or so, I adjusted it in every possible way, but it remained uncomfortable. I contacted the dealer. And they offered to help me buy a good used car (Thanks a lot!). I called North American Honda and they didn't care. And finally, I wrote Tokyo, but they just bounced the problem back to North American Honda. Finally, I got a call from some woman at North American Honda. She had all her talking points down pat.
She told me that I should have known that the seats were uncomfortable before I bought it. I asked her how I should know that from a short test drive. She said I just should know. She told me that most people were satisfied with Honda seats. I asked her what Honda had to offer to those of us who weren't "most people." She had no answer. I also asked her how many complaints Honda had received about their seats. She quickly responded that that was confidential. I told her I could understand why. Her basic attitude was that Honda already had my money, so they didn't give a damn about my problem.
I looked for after-market seats, but there weren't any because of the air bags in the seat. It's illegal to disconnect air bags. And nobody made after-market seats with air bags. I had the foam in the seat replaced twice, but that didn't help. The car was so miserably uncomfortable that I traded it off after three months and 1700 miles.

I had purchased a Honda City ZX (GXI) in July 2008 from Iciban (HONDA MH- 04 DN 7717). Needless to say, the reason I opted for Honda was the excellent quality, and the after sales service provided by Honda. However, I am afraid that the experience I have gained for the last one and half year has nothing to show whatever I had initially thought of.
I have been having terrible engine noise problem, which was repeatedly reported to the service center in Pune (Crystal Honda) for the last one and half years. After inspection, they used to say that, "there is no problem sir". Once I approached Honda 121, the problem was identified as engine problem, and that the engine as told to me is not good. Please, tell me what needs to be done here. I have been to suffering because of this problem.

I purchased a new 2006 Honda Civic LX and now, 5 years and 41,000 miles later, the paint is fading and the clear coat is disintegrating! I regularly get my car cleaned and waxed, so it is not neglect. I park my car outside and the paint/clear coat should hold up! I went to Braman Honda in Lake Worth and they said my car was out of warranty - 3 years or 36,000miles.
I got an estimate to repaint the roof and trunk lid (the hood had been repaired in Jan. 2011 due to a fender bender) and it will be $671 to repair. I am in the process of getting another estimate. There was a class-action suit for the visors in this vehicle and Honda extended the warranty for those to 7 years. Rather than improving on the design of the visor, they will replace it and after 7 years you are out of luck.
I am pretty disgusted at this paint situation and even more so, since I see this is a prevalent problem with Honda - using poor paint and clear coat. I love my 2006 Honda Civic LX Coupe. It is a beautiful car and mechanically, it is fantastic. My friend just bought a 2012 Honda Civic EX. It is beautiful and I am reluctant to upgrade to a Honda because of this paint problem, unless I plan to repaint the car at a cost around $2,300 - $3,000.
Honda, what is wrong with you guys? Please improve your paint and you will get rid of a lot of headaches! I want Honda to pay to have my car repainted with good quality paint. This car should last another five years, at least.

The top coat on the roof of my 2007 Honda Civic is peeling. It started last year and is continually getting worse. We tried to repair it with rubbing compound and wax but it did not work.

I own the Touring version of the 2005 Honda Odyssey. The vehicle was purchased new. In the fall of 2008 the passenger-side sliding door was registering as being open. The dash light came on & the steady alarm that goes off would stay on while I was driving.I could de-activate the alarm by sliding the doors' control button to a manual setting.However, the dash light would keep warning me by"binging") that the door was "open".The motor would engage briefly while & the door would actually move while I was driving! I was unaware at the time that the door's bad connection was also draining my battery.Took it in 12/08 to a dealership.Was told the motor & latch had to be replaced along with the battery to the tune of $691.Done.Late in 2010 the other sliding door (passenger side) started doing the same thing.My battery died repeatedly & at 1 point was replaced.Took it to another dealership & they found the exact same door problem as the previous incident.Motor & latch had to be replaced on THAT door for $945. Done.
At present (8/3/11) the driver side sliding door is broken AGAIN!If I replace it AGAIN it will be the THIRD door on that sidesince owning the vehicle. Called Honda HQ. Gentleman was pleasant but had a most difficult time comprehending the problem.Even asked me if I was sure that it was that door.I had to explain to him how the dashboard features are pretty specific as to which door (or tire, for that matter) is acting up.Unbelievable!Bottom line,since nothing is under warranty, Honda has no problem with me putting out another $1,000 to replace the door . . again.The only thing I garnered from the phone call was a case file number!They will not acknowledge that this is obviously a problem that should NOT be recurring like this & they shoud share some responsibility in the cost.I have also been blessed with run-flat tires on this model which I have had to replace several times at $1200/4 tires.I am sorely disappointed in what I thought was a reputable company that would stand behind it's product.I will be selling the vehicle & will never set foot in a Honda dealership again.

I have 2004 Honda Accord and the clear coat is starting to peel and it looks awful. It looks like it has a disease. I went to local dealership in Kamloops, BC and they said it was too far outside the warranty period and they won't do anything and referred me to Honda Canada. I called them and they called the dealer and then told me the exact same thing. Honda does not stand behind their product. I was a fan of Honda but will reconsider buying another one. Toyota is being held responsible for their paint problems so why not Honda. Very dissatisfied. Honda Customer relations also got very snotty with me which I didn't appreciate. I made sure I was calm and was not aggressive or assertive and she was still a bag when I was asking why Honda would not stand behind their product. Doesn't pay to be nice! May be a $5,000 paint job to even look presentable if we want to sell.

We always had Hondas and have been well satisfied. We bought our daughter a Honda Civic, and the roof went patchy. We waxed it thinking it might be the sun, and it progressively got worse. The Honda dealers do not want to know. It is now spreading to the hood. I have been trying to find out at least HOW TO STOP IT SPREADING.
