Did care services with the dealer and never got a reminder to rotate the tires. Service representatives suggested/pushed for other care services which are unnecessary. The dealer does not have a serving attitude but just for making money. Our original car's tires wore out at 22K mileage which is much less than the OEM's warranty. The car dealer did a flush service which seems unnecessary.

On 6/18/09, we brought my 2004 Honda CRV in to have a rust spot inside the gas tank door. It was very evident that it was rusting from the inside out. I was advised that this problem was not covered by Honda warranty because it has not perforated through the panel. I understand these warranties but am a little frustrated that with today's advancement with anti-rust prep that this type of issue would result.

I bought TRX450R at $3,800.00. This was a used ATV. The first owner had a crank failure. He rebuilt it and sold to me. I have had it for 2 years and I am currently looking to buy my 3rd new crank. I ordered one from LeClare Motorsports. They declined the order and stated that Honda recalled cranks, stated it would be 2 months before availability. I contacted Honda and they stated that there was no recall.
If there was no recall, then how come you can’t even order the part from Honda dealerships? I believe that with the money the bikes sell for, they should stand good for the parts. At least send the customers a free new upgraded crank instead of charging another 3 or 4 hundred. This third crank will be approximately $1,500 worth of cranks. What the hell, "it’s more money for them". The ATV is 2004 and was bought new in June 2005.

I bought a brand new 2009 Honda Accord sedan and after approximately 1000 miles, started experiencing brake noise. The level of the noise was not great but after 3000 miles, the noise was just annoying. I bought the Honda because of its history of being a reliable car. Now, I find for myself that Honda is just another car. I have taken the car twice to the dealer and have spoken with a Honda Corp. representative and they tell me the same story that there is no defect or recalls known and that basically I have to live with the problem.

My 2002 Honda Odyssey with 86,000 miles on it is at the dealer with transmission failure. Because I am the second owner, they say Honda will not help pay for it. I have to pay $3,100 to replace it. Honda needs to admit problems with the ‘02 Odyssey’s transmissions - they are posted all over the internet. They have admitted it with the 1999-2001 and have extended those warranties. Honda needs to be accountable.

I purchased a new 2008 Honda Civic and had a qualified mechanic install Roadmaster towing brackets specifically tested and designed for the car. While not under tow, the main motor mount broke damaging the transmission, which I now believe, was due to a defective part. The nearest Honda dealer stated that Honda Headquarters would not repair the damage as they noticed that a tow package had been installed which voided any warranty. The Honda was only nine months old with 3730 miles recorded. I have sold the vehicle but it has very expensive preposition. In the process of selling this vehicle off, I was also informed that the Honda dealer installed a radio before delivery that was not Honda original equipment and all electronics were not covered by warranty. In conclusion, do not buy Honda without a signed and sealed contract exclusion of this practice.

I brought my 2006 Honda Ridgeline Truck in for what I noticed as rust appearing inside the doors at the weld joints. Honda body rep examined the vehicle and repaired it under warranty on 12/12/2007. The rust came back in the exact same spots. I brought the truck back to Jon Hall Honda and they called a regional rep to examine the rust. He decided that because I live in Florida near a coast that it is not under warranty to be fixed. While he was examining my doors, he pulled off the rubber seals and they are all now falling off the vehicle due to his actions. The rust is inside of the doors in the exact same weld joint in all four doors.
I had an independent body shop examine the doors and they concluded the rust is a factory defect, not caused by my environment. The location inside the door and the spot it occurred were very evident to him that there was some sort of glitch in the manufacturing process in the door. I have receipts, estimates, photos and documentation of all the effort made to resolve this issue. The warranty has a 5-year rust coverage. The cost to repair the doors now exceeds $5,000.

I have a 2008 Honda Accord EX that I have been leasing for less than a year and a half. Last week, I was in the car while it was turned on and my 18 month old son was in the backseat and my husband was in the passenger seat. My husband had to get out of the car to get something. When he closed the door, all of the passenger side airbags deployed including the seat airbag and the curtain airbags. Thankfully, they did not hurt my son. We have taken the car to Honda of Princeton, NJ and they have told us that this is our fault and the car did its job. I really never knew that by closing my door while the car is on should cause any airbags to deploy. I always thought Hondas were great cars, yet I have completely changed my mind about that.
In the little time that I have had this car, I have already needed my muffler replaced, my brake pads were warped and now this. Honda told me to file a claim with my insurance, but the insurance said this is a Honda defect. I don't believe I should have to pay a penny out of my pocket to get this fixed since this is definitely a problem with Honda, especially after reading about the many other similar situations that other people have had with Honda cars. To top it off, the estimate I was given by my insurance adjuster was close to $4000.00.

We bought a brand new Honda Odyssey van in 2002 and after 709 miles, the transmission fell out on the ground. The dealer fixed it and told us that Honda takes care of their own, well, since we have had it back and forth to the same dealer, with the same slipping and jerking that it was impossible to keep taking it in and getting a call, it’s ready to be picked up only to have the same problems.
Now, we have 43,000 miles and it’s back in the shop with now needing another transmission. American Honda Motors told me that the repairs are on us, to go ahead sue them and that we don’t have a chance. My dad did get upset when he spoke to a rep for Honda. He could not believe that a big company like Honda is going to ride this to the bitter end. But little did they know I’m just as upset as all the other people that are being stuck with this pile of lemon peels. We will never ever buy anything that is not American made. Honda says that they are American, then, they need to act like Americans.
Consequences: I think that when the first transmission fell out that the bolts holding the transmission in place somehow damaged the chassis where the two come together, causing them not to line up correctly making the second transmission to fail.

I purchased a 2008 Honda Accord last August. The warranty provided was for 48k miles non-powertrain, and 100k powertrain. I have taken the car in before to Honda Carland for normal servicing and warranty work and their service was great. This time, I took it to a closer dealership (Nalley Honda) and have had a horrible experience.
I took the car on June 22, 2009 in the afternoon for tire rotation and balance, new air filters and to check out the brake system. The front of the car shakes when the brakes are applied. I was told that my brake pads were fine but that the rotors were causing the shaking. The service agent told me that this was normal and that replacing the rotors would not fall under warranty because they are a normal wearable item. I would have to pay out of pocket for 120 dollars per rotor for new ones.
I disputed this and was given a number for Honda's corporate office. I called the number and talked with a Cynthia at 9:35 on June 23 2009. She gave the same response that rotors are a commonly worn item and therefore not covered. I asked to speak to a manager. She refused to transfer me. I asked to speak to her boss’s boss and was denied again. When asked for a written statement that rotors are a normal to wear this early and that it isn’t covered within Honda's warranty, she refused to do so. I read the warranty booklet that states what is covered. It specifically says that brake pads are not covered. It doesn’t mention rotors anywhere.
Technically everything on the car is a wearable item, from a piston to a radio knob. If it weren’t, there would be no reason to purchase a new car. My seat is designed to wear out, but not at 35k and while still under warranty. Rotors going bad before the brakes and before the warranty expires isn’t normal either. If rotors are such a common wearable part, why isn’t in the owner’s manual to replace them at a specific mileage like any other commonly worn part.
I mentioned that I had the rear brakes replaced because they wore down at 25k miles and the clip could be heard squealing. This isn’t normal either. There is an entire website dedicated to complaints about this common problem amongst this particular vehicle. Also, when replaced, one set of the rear pads didn’t wear evenly, possibly signaling a sign of a bad brake caliber.
To continue, I pick up my car with only services that comes out of my pocket performed. I drove down the road a few miles and the car almost stalls out and the check engine light started flashing. I instantly turned off the car and coasted to the side of the road. I called Nalley and spoke to a mechanic. He advised me that it would be ok to drive the car back to the dealership. I brought the car back in. While filling out the appropriate paperwork, the service rep stated that the mechanic said my check engine light was on when I first brought the car in. Not true! The check engine light has never illuminated before. I left the car with them. This was all at 12:00pm June 23, 2009.
The next morning, I tried to find out the status of my car. Beginning at 10:00 am until 3:20pm, I wasn’t able to get a hold of anyone. I went to the service rep voicemail, service manager, general manager and others. Finally, I was able to talk to my service rep who stated that they had found the problem, a bad pressure valve along with bad old oil in the car. The car’s oil has been constantly maintained according to Honda’s recommendations. The oil in the car is new synthetic oil that still has 70% life remaining according to the car’s maintenance reminder.
The following day, I didn’t receive any update about the car. Finally, on the 25th, I was able to pick my car back up. I was told that after they did my oil change that there wasn’t enough oil in the car. The low oil level caused the vTech sensor to come on. The mechanic was able to fix the problem by adding more oil and resetting the code. I never brought my car to them for an oil change it always went to Honda Carland. I brought the car home and parked it for thirty minutes before leaving to go eat. I started the car and the entire garage filled up smoke. This never happened before. It does it randomly when starting the car and while driving down the road. They obviously did more to my car than just add oil.
My entire recent experience has been horrible. Honda is dodging its warranty responsibility by claiming everything as normal wear or not their fault. For a 2008 vehicle that has a 48k and 100k mile warranty and claims to be maintenance free until 100k miles, I have had to replace the rear brake pads, the front rotors are bad and now my car smokes. By the time I reach the 100k maintenance free mark, at this rate, I would be on my fourth set of rear brake pads, third set of front rotors and on my third engine.

My air conditioner wasn't working so I took my 2008 Honda Civic, with 17,000 miles, to Suburban Honda in Farmington Hills, Michigan. There I met with a service technician and proceeded to tell the man the problem I was having with my car. The service tech told me it was going to cost approximately $160 if there was no warranty. Since I have a 3-year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, I didn't worry. An hour latter, I received a call from Suburban Honda. The tech said there was impact on the air conditioner's condenser, that's why the air conditioner wasn't working. He went on to tell me that the problem wasn't covered by my warranty because it was physical damage and that it would cost $575 to repair. I told him don't do anything, I'm on my way.
When I arrived, I was directed to the cashier's office by a technician and there was a bill waiting for me. It was for $147.33. Naturally, I was incredulous. For what? My car is still in disrepair! I appealed. I asked to see the service manager. I stated my case to him. I have the 3-year /36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. My car is otherwise pristine, no physical damage, accidents. Suburban Honda was reneging on their signed warranty contract because of their design flaw/defect.
My pleading came to no avail. And just as sudden as Mr. ** appeared, he let me know the conversation was over. He stormed away from me headed to the cashier. Shockingly, there I was met with profanity and aggression. The service manager rushed to the cashier and said, "Do you have the paper work for this **?" This was appalling at first. It was at this point I realized there was nothing more I could do, that basically I was being strong-armed into paying a bogus bill. Needless to say, Suburban Honda's unscrupulous business practices have revolted me and I will spread the word about their dishonesty. I will also never buy another Honda product as long as I live.

With less than 23,000 miles, the service rep tells me I need new breaks without even the courtesy of listening to the noise that started on my 2008 Honda Accord yesterday. The service rep informed me that 23,000 miles for breaks is typical. My car is now at my mechanic’s. He tells me breaks typically last 40-50,000 miles. 23,000 is an outrage. It appears I made a mistake buying a Honda, a mistake that I will not make again.

I heard a high-pitched metallic sound coming from my tires. It was found to be the rear brake sensor. I had my breaks checked out by an independent automotive repair company. The repair company stated that while my front brakes are still brand-new; my rear brakes were "gone." Officially, it's RL 4mm and 2mm and RL 2mm and 0.5mm.
The owner of the repair company stated that this is extreme for a new vehicle with 20K miles on it. He suspected a hydraulic problem and/or proportioning issues with my vehicle; both of which should be under factory warranty.
I took my vehicle to a local Honda dealership. They stated that they are seeing the 2008 Honda Accords come in daily for rear brake pad replacement, but it is considered "normal wear" until Honda calls for a recall. They stated that I will likely have to get the pads replaced every 12K-20K, depending on my driving (This is what they are currently seeing.). They also advised me that Honda is aware of the "premature read pad wear" issue, but nothing has been recalled at this time. They apologized profusely, but they still charged me to perform the replacement.
I contacted Honda Customer Service (Cynthia). She stated that while Honda is aware of the premature rear pad wear issue, which applies to 2008-09 Honda Accords, it is currently under investigation by the factories and R&D. There is not currently a Service Bulletin at this time. She gave me a case number and stated that she would document the complaint. She stated that if Honda was going to take corrective action, then I would be contacted sometime in the future.

At that time, I was asked if I wanted my transmission flushed! Now, I was not there to watch them do it nor do I believe they did it. I worked as a mechanic for many years and what I just saw come out of my transmission was not just 16 month old fluid. But now the transmission is shot! No good and Honda North America wants me to pay $3k for it to be fixed, something they all knew was defective back in 9/07 when it was looked at (and under warranty) and could have and should have been fixed then. Now, I am left with a vehicle that is unsafe to drive with my children in it for fear more will happen. They actually told me that a new transmission will cost 9K and a rebuilt will be 3k. I purchased a 2004 Honda Odyssey Touring new van in February 2005. Since then, I have had several problems with the vehicle. PAX tire problems (lots of them), whistling windshield, bad rear sensor, bad sliding doors, squealing door locks, air conditioning condenser now needs to be replaced (another 'known' issue) that they won't help me on until I get a district or regional Honda person involved with.
I also believe that now my transmission is failing. It chugs sometimes and can't seem to make up its mind if it wants to shift or not. I have to take my foot off the gas and let it shift down, then it shifts hard into gear. They can't seem to get it to recreate this problem so they told me if I want to pay them, they can drive it all day and recreate this transmission problem. This too is a known issue. I paid sticker for this vehicle, because I wanted all the safety bells and whistles.
We do not have any of the fancy radios, GPS or DVDs in our van. We paid a great deal for the upgraded stability system, etc. Anyway, when you pay sticker for a Touring model, you expect to get a well functioning 'Touring' model. Well, we have paid for each every month, but have had many, many trips to Honda City where my words have fallen on deaf ears. I usually have to get very upset and get a regional person involved to rectify the problem.

My air conditioner in my 2006 Honda Civic stopped working recently. I took it to South Bay Honda (where I purchased the car) last month or so to have it repaired. My car is still under warranty so I figured there would be no charge. Well, I was wrong. The service dept. claimed that "a pebble hit my condenser unit and damaged it" rendering my a/c useless. Wow! That must have been some pebble. Anyway, they offered to fix it for a mere $1,200. Of course, I wasn't willing to pay that, so I retrieved my car and left, feeling thoroughly cheated.
Anyway, I discovered recently that many Honda owners are having the exact same problem and are being told the same thing - that road debris caused the damage. Well, if the condenser unit is that fragile, then obviously there is a design flaw that Honda isn't willing to fess up to - a protective device should have been installed in front of the unit to catch debris before it could do any damage.
Now then, had I been willing to pay for the repair, who's to say it wouldn't happen again? Honda, being a long-time, "reputable" and "trusted" car manufacturer, should be well aware of the fact that road debris is unavoidable, but somehow they overlooked this when they designed these cars. The right thing to do, of course, would be a recall ... but, at the very least, Honda should be willing to repair cars (as well as install a protective device) that come in for service which are still under warranty. Is there anything you can do to help me resolve this?

Then I opened my driver's window and a few seconds later after that, the rear window exploded. We thought someone shot a bullet into my car or that a bomb went off. I immediately called the police after parking my car and they came in minutes. After examining all the information I gave them as to what happened, they determined that there was no gun shots or bombs, but that the window burst due to a short circuit from the car itself. Three weeks prior, my rear window shattered after I turned on the defroster, but I thought it was due to vandalism because I didn't realize that the defroster had anything to do with it.
On April 8, 2009, I took my car to the Hollywood Honda authorized dealer at 6511 Santa Monica Blvd., L.A., 90038 to have the defroster electrical system checked out. They told me it would cost me $120 to get it checked out. I felt it was unfair since it looked like it was a problem that the Honda itself had, and not something I caused. Nonetheless, I told the attendant (the assistant manager) that I didn't feel it was right that I should be charged for it, but I still agreed to the diagnostics check. I am writing concerning numerous problems I have experienced with my 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid. Let me begin by saying I am a previous owner of a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid, which performed as advertised, and beyond my expectations. Unfortunately after two years of daily use and 76,000 miles, the car was declared a total loss after being rear-ended. It was due to my satisfaction with the performance of the 2006 Civic Hybrid that I went right out and purchased a 2009 Civic Hybrid.
This vehicle is the reason for this letter. How disappointed I am to discover the changes made to the vehicle's systems that are all reported to be normal by the service techs that I have contacted at two different Honda dealerships. The IMA system does not perform as advertised. The system charges the battery during uphill pulls. It sometimes does not charge the battery on downhill travel. It does not use the full battery capacity and when it does use the battery, it runs out in a very short amount of time. There are times when it does not charge even when going downhill or during stops as it is advertised. Again, let me reiterate I was a previous owner of a 2006 Hybrid and am completely familiar with the performance as a properly operating IMA system.
This letter is not my first attempt to bring this problem to the attention of Honda. I have expended numerous hours on the phone and at different Honda dealerships seeking a satisfactory resolution to these ongoing problems with the car. I have one more issue that has to do with the dealership from which I purchased the car. The category of this vehicle when registered by Shingle Springs Honda was in error. Because of issues that have to do with taxes and DMV I found out through a bank end channel that my vehicle was not categorized as a Hybrid. Again this was an error of the dealership and caused me many hours, including lost work time to investigate and rectify the matter on my own. Clearly this problem was caused by the dealership and therefore should have been resolved by the dealership. They failed to provide the customer service that was expected and required. English is the only language that I speak and we have not discovered a word that would convey my disappointment. Word of mouth is probably your best advertising tool; it can also be your worst enemy.
I am ever hopeful that someone will take my complaints seriously as to date I feel I have received nothing beyond lip service. Be advised that I am also posting my complaint to Consumer Affairs.com https://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/honda.html. I am done waiting for Honda to do the right thing. If I receive a response to this letter and/or we have come to a satisfactory conclusion I will do the right thing and reciprocate in kind with a positive report to Consumer Affairs as to my satisfaction with Honda's customer service..

Jim Boyd and the service department have always been very courteous and professional. this goes for the sales department as well. one morning i was on my way to work. i had contacted them because my vehicle had started to make a strange noise, they told me i could come right in. i brought in the vehicle, they provided me with alternate transportation and got me on my way. The service advisor called me that afternoon let me know what the problem was and that it would be ready later that day. i picked up my vehicle later that evening and had everything explained to me. i really appreciate how quick they were able to get me in and on my way. i will continue to use rock honda for my service needs and will definately continue to reccomend this dealership.

I made the mistake of doing business with David McDavid Honda in Frisco. The first hint of a problem was when the sales person quoted me a price of $599 to install body side molding. I declined and when I got home checked internet pricing at $266. Second, after owning the car for a week the finance person called and said they were raising my apr % from 3.9 to 4.9. Then the final kicker was when I returned the vehicle to the dealership for window tinting and installation of the molding...they wrecked my car, and instead of telling me on the phone, they waited until I was driving through the car wash to notify of this incident. I find the whole group at this dealership to be the most dishonest I have ever dealt with. I left the car with them, and told them they could deliver it to my house when it was completely repaired. I have NO IDEA when I will get my NEW car back. The dishonesty starts at the top with the GM & Service manager. Honda is a good car, but this dealership is the worst of the worst.

I purchased a new 2007 Honda Shadow Spirit 750(motorcycle)and two weeks after I had it in my possession, it cut off while I was riding with no prior indication that something was wrong. Well I thought it was maybe a fluke so I did not take it back to the shop then. About 1 1/2 weeks later, just before it would be one month old I was riding on Interstate 75 on my way to the dealership to buy something for my bike and it cut off in busy rush hour traffic fortunately, I was able to get over to the medan before someone ran me over. I called the dealership and reported the incident after a Hero unit came to assit me and was unsuccessful. My brother came and got me and the bike and took us down to the dealership where they kept the bike for a couple of days and said that they could find nothing wrong with it. They insinuated that it may have been out of gas but the Hero driver checked that and also put more gas in it just to be sure. Upon attempting to give me the bike back I spoke with the GM, Buddy and expressed my serious concern for my life's potential danger being on this bike and I expressed that if I took this bike back again and it did the same thing that I did not want that particular bike again that I wanted something else to feel safe on. One week later I hadn't ridden my bike because of bad weather, I attempted to go riding and my bike would not start, I went and bought a slow charger and the bike started after charging, I rode over to my friends house and stayed for a couple of hours and the bike would not start up again. I took the battery back to the dealership to have the battery tested and they stated that there was a bad cell on that battery and gave me a new one. It was time for me to take my bike in for my first servicing after 600 miles, I never made it to the dealership. After work on August 11 or 12th 2008, I was on the same stretch of Interstate 75 when my bike shut off one again. Frantic I called the dealership and they sent someone on their way to pick the bike up. While waiting two separate gentleman stopped to assist me along with the same Hero guy that helped me the first time stalled on I-75. The gentleman from the shop took a long time to arrive. I would beleive that was due to the rush hour traffic. It was scorching hot and we were in a fairly hazardous part of the freeway so, the two gentleman that stopped to assist me helped me get off the expressway to a safer area and the dealership personnel picked me up from there. The next day I went up to the dealership and spoke with the GM - Buddy and expressed that this was the third time that bike had cut off on me for no apparent reason and that for my life's safety I would not take it back again, I just wanted a bike I could ride it was brand new and I had secured myself with the additional warranty maintenance and Gap insurance just for my own protection and now my bike has spent more time down that me enjoying riding it. On Saturday, August 15th, I went up to the dealership to check on the status of what was going on since no one had contacted me in the past few days and I was constantly calling and getting no feed back. I spoke with Nick the salesman and Buddy the GM. Buddy said there was one of two things that could happen. I could let them repair what they thought was wrong or I could go let Nick set me up with another bike. I chose to go with Nick with a feeling of ease regarding my safety. After completing my business with Nick he said my bike should be here in about a week, well the week came and went without hearing from the dealership. I then contacted Nick and he said they were trying to figure the best way to handle the situation with causing me hardship, I'm not sure what he meant by that but he assured me that they were on the situation and that he would follow up and call me back. Well three days passed and I heard nothing, now realize the summer season for riding is quickly leaving us and I haven't spent enough time with my new bike that rode as if it was on it's last leg going to the motorcycle grave yard. Well on Monday August 25, I contact someone named Justin in the finance department and he was going to call the dealership and follow up for me but I tried to reach him repeatedly only to find out he is on vacation. Now I get a call from Nick at the dealership on Tuesday, August 26th and he says that the Service manager is going to give me a call, they don't want to give me a safe bike, they want to assume that the problem is fixed and give me the same bike back again, note: we've already been through this procedure and I still was put in harms way out on the freeway. I have spoken with Clark Howard's office and they were able to give me any relative information because it is a motorcycle issue and not a automobile. Now I am writing to you for any valuable resource. PLEASE HELP, IF THERE IS SOMETHING I CAN DO, PLEASE TELL ME I'M AT MY WITS END AND OUT OF RESOURCES EXCEPT TO OBTAIN AN ATTORNEY, AND I DON'T THINKS THAT WOULD BE NECESSARY IF THE DEALERSHIP WOULD JUST UNDERSTAND THAT, THAT BIKE HAS CUT OFF ON ME THREE TIMES WHILE RINDING IN TRAFFIC IN WHICH I COULD HAVE GOTTEN RAN OVER BY OTHERS. I'M STARTING TO FEEL AS IF MY SAFETY IS OF NO CONCERN TO THEM AS LONG AS I CONTINUE TO PAY MY PREMIUMS. And this is why I'm writing to your office, I don't know if I have a leg to stand on. Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer me.

I bought a Honda motorcycle from an authorized dealer, august 2007, the next day, it had to be towed back, because it wouldn't run. They replaced the battery and released the bike to me. 2 days later it had to be towed again, because it wouldn't run, this time they replaced an electrical part and released the bike to me. within 2 weeks the bike was dead again and was towed in, this time, a loose connector was found to be the culprit,
earlier this week, I brought the bike back to the same dealership, because the electrical system was again malfunctioning. They determined that the part that they replaced less than a year ago, was again faulty! this time to top it off, the part is not available at this time!
I felt from the beginning that this bike was a lemon, I've experienced nuts coming loose, bolts disappearing, all on a high performance motorcycle! Not reassuring when on the track at 180mph! I don't feel safe on this bike and I'm afraid I'm just stuck with it. still not paid off, so cant sell it, for what I owe. what are my options?
I feel unsafe on this high performance motorcycle, but I can't even sell it! market price is lower than what I owe on it..while this bike is in the shop AGAIN, I may loose hundreds of dollars in additional fuel money. Main thing is, I feel unsafe on this bike.

My carfax report was withheld from me, and later after experiencing ride problems I did some investigation on the vehicle through carfax and learned that the vehicle was in an accident with the previous owner. I asked the salesperson has this car been in an accident and he specifically said NO. The salesperson was dishonest about the car and I'm concerned about my safety in the car while riding. I contacted the dealership and filed a claim, and I was told a claim agent would contact me within 1 to 2 days, but I haven't received any written contact or phone call concerning the matter, during the time frame that I was given that a claim representative would get in contact with me.
The car was rear ended according to the police report with slight damage reported. The car still has some physical characteristics of the car being damaged when I inspected the physical condition of the car more closely. The bumper is not properly placed on the vehicle. The bumper shows some misalignment that signifies that the bumper was not properly replaced. I am concerned about the rear frame and what else might not be properly fixed. The car had paint peeling on the rear bumper that shows that the car was not properly repainted. I noticed that the back wheels seem to have a feeling of sliding off and under the vehicle and the car has a feel of wobbliness in the rear even after a (2) four wheel alignments, and (2) brand sets of brand new tires, to eleviate the problem.

The only way to repair the leak was to replace the oil pan at the cost of $333.84. The cause of the damaged threads was due to the over torquing of the drain plug during my last oil change at Express Tire. The evedence showes that the employee realized that the threads were stripped and applied a thick tar like substance to keep the drain plug in place and stopped any leakage. My automobile oil change was not due, however, the loss of oil required this repair. I have docmented paper work from Honda, that identifies the problem.

It's very difficult to see much of the road with the type of head lights they are using, which are about 2-/12 inch enclosed circular units. On roadways in the country, with hills and turns, these lights on low beam cast a shadow on the side and creates a sort of hypnotic effect. When cresting a hill to climb another, visibility is reduced to approximately 25 to 40 feet until you begin to assend again and you lose visiblity until the vehicle's nose if downward again. These are like small spot lights and act as such and are not safe to drive at night with in a country setting. Side visibility is not more then 15 to 30 feet and it's not lit up well at all. I explained the problem to the service person and mechanic, both of which have not driven a 2008 at night nor do they own one. Situation Background I own 2001 Acura Integra GSR. The car has been driven to and from work 99% of its life, just regular wear and tear. Currently there is 75000 miles on this car. The car has had its oil changed at Acura dealer ship for its entire life every 3 thousand miles. Mid 2007 I suddenly noticed that my engine warning light turned on. I immediately stopped to investigate. It turned out that oil was low. I have contacted dealer and run oil burning test to see if engine was burning oil. All it is, you drive 1000 miles and check oil level. It was measured that my engine is burning 2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. I was shocked to say the least because after our family bough many Honda vehicles over 20 years I have never seen Honda engine burn oil. Two quarts of oil per 1000 miles is huge amount. I contacted Acura Customer service to find out if they can help with this matter as it sure looked like something that should not be happening. Customer Service Response Customer service told me that they do not have to help me because my warranty expired but if they are to provide any kind of assistance I need to have a dealer and only Acura dealer determine what the problem is first. I spoke with Service manager at Acura dealer and I was told it will cost me $1000 up front and maybe more to make a determination whats wrong with the engine. This is not even the costs of repair, which is likely to bring the total cost to be more then if I would just buy a brand new engine. So I was supposed to spend all this money just to find out if Acura would render some kind of assistance to help with my problem. I have decided to consult with a friend of family a Honda mechanic with 25 years experience with Honda cars. He works for Honda dealer. He assured me that Honda engine can go 200000 miles without burning any oil and there are only two possibilities why my car is burning oil this soon. 1. Manufacturing defect of engine. 2. Oil was not changed properly by the dealer. (McGrath Acura 400 E Ogden Ave Westmont, IL , 60559) Conclusions I have thought about it, and called Customer Support again to tell them that I do not believe I should have to spend any money to fix something that is clearly not my fault. They replied that there is nothing they can do for me then. Im truly shocked and disappointed that Acura is expecting their customers to throw away a car after 75000 miles. Im also shocked that the dealership would not offer me some kind of discount on labor they wanted to charge me to determine whats wrong with the car. When you think about it, they are partially responsible for this situation as they have failed to notify me the engine is burning oil when they were doing oil changes. You would think the dealer might want to mention to you that the extracted oil form engine was much lower then expected, but I guess this must be against their interests. They check your tire pressure but fail to inform you about such an important fact as low oil level during oil change. I do not understand why a manufacturer with much worse reputation like Hunday is warranting their power train up to 100,000 miles, but Acura turns their back on long term loyal customer when they know their equipment should not break this soon? It is not like I took my car to Jiffy Lube. My car was maintained only by Acura dealer for its entire life. Acura you leave me no choice. I have decided that I have no choice but to stop buying Honda made cars and to share my experience with as many people as possible on Internet. Let this be a warning to anyone who thinks Acura and Honda is a guarantee of excellence. Nothing could be further from the truth. Regards A very disappointed customer.

I called the national Honda customer service line and asked them if it would be possible to track down the number via the VIN. They said they couldn't. I find that EXTREMELY hard to believe since, as far as I know, every vehicle has an assembly tree where the serial number of each and every part, tests conducted, etc. are noted. I left it there and after almost five hours of test the adviser called me and told me that I needed to replace the radiator, thermostat and fan switch a total of $ 730. I left my car to be worked on over night and the following day in the evening I was told that my car was fixed so I went to pick it up. When I picked up my car it was a bit shaky but I was told that it was because of the new part replacements they had just done.
The following Monday November 12 my car continued to shake but this time the check engine light turned on. I called the dealer and they told me to take my car so I dropped it off the following day and left it there all day from 9 AM-6 PM I was told that there was nothing wrong with the car and all they did was remove the check engine light. The following day the same thing happened and I called the adviser once more, he asked me to drop off my car again so I asked him if they would provide me transportation and he said no. I had gone to that dealer one too many times and nothing was done so I took my car to Penske Honda and they checked my car and told me that I need to replace the thermostat, fan switch and head gasket.

I recently was involved in an accident, in which I had barely started to move forward at a stoplight, but was unable to make a complete stop before rear ending the car in front of me. There was a police officer at the scene, which is why the accident occured as the car in front of me stopped to avoid hitting the police officer.
The police officer stated that the airbag should not have imploded and that she has never seen an airbag implode with a car moving less than 5 miles per hour. The police officer indicated that Honda was responsible for faulty mechanical equipment. There was no physical damage other than the damage caused by Honda's faulty airbag equipment.
Honda had two weeks to investigate prior to having my vehicle repaired, as the imploding impact was so forceful it broke the windshield. We have a police report that will cooberate this information and Honda refused to correct their mistake and pay for the repair. We have always purchased Hondas and refuse to even consider buying another Honda again. In fact, we will deter everyone we know from even considering purchasing a Honda.

On 11/30/06, my husband was at lunch and returned to the parking lot to find his 2006 Honda Ridgeline burned and fire fighters just finishing up with extinguishing the engulfed truck.
The Raleigh Fire Department made a report and Geico insurance recorded the cause as manufacturer defect. I spoke with Leith Honda (the dealer that sold us the truck) and was advised to call the 800#. After being read to from the how to handle a customer with a vehicle fire handbook, I was told that Honda could not help me. I was looking for some sort of factory buyback, a good deal on another Honda, a good interest rate (at least the same interest rate I had with the existing loan).
Customer service explained to me that Honda neither sells vehicles, nor finances them, and that the dealer that sold us the defective truck was at fault, and should be the one to help us. Trying to go higher up in the chain of command proved nearly impossible, but on December 11, Honda opened a case for me. After many delayed return phone calls, and being told that Honda was looking into it, I was re-read the exact words from my initial contact--we do not sell vehicles or finance them, (of course they don't from the cubicle at customer service!), we do not advance loaners, we do not have any information In her frustration for my asking the hard questions (ie: who can I speak with about the remedy to this? Who is in charge of the investigation?
Are we just supposed to go on as though our new truck had not just been destroyed by fire?), the service rep. hung up on me. That was on December 20th, I have not heard another word from Honda. It seems that the focus of the investigation lies in the fact that Honda Motors is very concerned that Geico listed the fire as a manufacturer's defect, NOT in helping the consumer. I do not feel that I am being unreasonable in my demand for recompense. I do not want a free vehicle, only the opportunity to purchase another within reasonable parameters.
The Ridgeline was a total loss, rendering us a one-car family for work, household, and during the Holidays. So we were forced to purchase a new vehicle --we had neither time or budget alotted for this over Christmas.
