How does DriveTime work?

DriveTime’s dealership employees, referred to as customer experience guides (CEGs), are salaried employees who do not work on commission, which means you’re less likely to face pushy sales tactics.     Bob was great! The problem is, when you have a customer who had very limited options for a place to buy a car BECAUSE of his credit, and you basically have to pay for the vehicle TWICE (not anyone's fault but my own) you'd think that they would at least make sure ALL of the fluids are filled (engine oil) and or letting the customer know where to find the wheel lock key (never found)... No problem, because I work in the industry. Now this is the first review I have given in my life as well as that was the biggest purchase in my life. Just saying if someone has to go to you to buy a car, make the experience as it was like I had good credit, you know like when going to a Manufacturing dealer. Maybe this is now everything works, idk. I would absolutely go back and see Bob, though!

      This is my second car I got through Drive Time and I love this car even more than the first! And the first car I had for a couple years and really loved it but unfortunately I was in an accident and it was totaled. The staff all here was amazing and helpful in the timing and process it took for me to get a new car while awaiting the process to settle out. Jordyen was really patient and helpful even though I changed my mind a few times about the vehicle I wanted he didn’t show any frustration with me at all. He was very helpful and friendly and helped me get on the road again. DriveTime is a great company and I’m glad I waited instead of going with any other dealer.

      Yesterday I had outstanding experience of great customer service. Starting from the top of the company which was manager Erica providing a follow up call to see if I had made to the store. Providing great input on the inventory of items that was on the parking lot. Once I arrived I was greeted with a smile and a handshake by salesman Michael **. He took is time to present the different options that was going to fit my liking within a car. Once I narrowed down my specific interest he laid out the last couple of options that was going fit my like. He gave me ample amount of time with no pressure while researching down to the specifics for each car. The paperwork process was very smooth. The manager Erica made sure all my questions were asked.       I freaking love Drive Time!!! My grandson and I were stranded, and I filled out so many applications to so many dealers. All of them but Drive Time said that I was either not approved or wanted an un-godly amount down. Spoke to Robert at the Salem, Va location and he was the ONLY one that told me what I needed to do and what documents I needed. When I arrived, he made it so easy. Got me into such a beautiful SUV with only $200 down. He took time with me making sure I understood everything about the papers I was signing to my options and what my vehicle choice had to offer me. We walked around the vehicle, and he showed me all the features it had and how to work it. Before I drove off in it, he made sure I had all the apps I needed downloaded, auto pay set up, made sure I did not have any questions and even set my phone up to my radio.       The initial car I wanted was a Kia soul. I filled out paperwork via email and was told by the lady that I could come get it on Monday for the next thing. I know they sold it out of a lot. Drivetime people then referred me over to the northeast location in Columbus, Ohio. I made a down payment on a car that I wanted and when I arrive three hours from out of state the car was in repair and not eligible for sale. They then began to show me two other vehicles when the girl went to get them for a test drive she had neither one.

      Communication between locations and in location is horrible. I did finally end up picking out a car by myself on the lot. I can say I was a business owner before and they seem very unorganized and will lose customers this way I did let the manager know that at the location. They did offer to fill my tank for such inconveniences, but my tank in the car I was purchasing was already full. I was very disappointed with communication with them selling and not having cars that I have already looked at an inventory and put a down payment on.
