Of the wide range of vehicles offered we found plenty to suit our needs. Hardest part was the decision of picking one. The day we chose the one they started the process, within a couple of days we had received the car and within 1 full week we have our plates and are driving our "new" car. ThIs was the best experience I've ever had purchasing a car. Will use Carvana from now on!

Purchased a vehicle to be delivered; it was delayed due to necessary repairs. Nevertheless, when it arrived, it didn't run properly. Canceled that order & selected a different vehicle - we explicitly told cust service that we had a cashier's check (their preferred method of payment) which was more than the cost of the vehicle; they said that was fine so I proceeded to sign all the paperwork, send in all verifications & confirm delivery date. The morning before the delivery, I happened to check the order & found that it had been cancelled with no warning to me & cust service could not tell me why. I redid the entire purchase & again verified everything - to get a phone call later advising that they cannot accept a cashier's check valued at more than the cost of the car & if I didn't get a new one before a certain timeframe, my already rescheduled delivery would be delayed. They could not tell me why I had previously been told it would be no problem.
Got new cashiers check & waited for delivery, which went smoothly. The delivery driver was the only positive experience of this; and the new vehicle has a leak when it rains, causing the headliner inside my vehicle to get wet/stained. Honestly, if I wasn't crunched for time, I would have cancelled again & gone to a dreaded dealership.

My husband and I recently purchased a car from Carvana and we love our car. I dropped one star only because of the problem we had was working with the Underwriters for proof of insurance. We uploaded a document my insurance company provided from them and our insurance cards over and over and over. It took me painfully over 8 hours with your chat people on one screen and my insurance company chat people on the other screen, the day after I ordered our car, to finally get the Underwriters to accept the proof of insurance my insurance company provided.
I came very close to cancelling the purchase because one of your chat people was rude, telling me to change insurance companies if Esurance (a div of Allstate) wouldn't provide what Carvana wanted them to provide. My insurance company asked me repeatedly to just have Carvana call them and the chat person refused. In the end, it all worked out and the bottom line is that we love our car. In fact, I created a video for my YouTube Channel, to tell others how much we love our car. Just wanted to share the link to my YouTube video review here in case there are others considering buying a car from Carvana.

First off, Thank god I purchased the warranty. Day 7 I wanted to return the vehicle and they told me to have the shop check it out first. Guess what that took me over the 7 day period, Ok done but that was the first of 8 visits to the shop for the same thing. Now 9 months later it has been in the shop for over 2 months to fix the turbos and intercooler? This is the same problem. So I am paying for the vehicle as well as insurance and warranty and when I call Carvana to express my displeasure they say, "Good thing you bought the warranty." No help, no guilt, no remorse. I honestly think the shop has more miles on it than I do. THEY SOLD ME A LEMON AND COULD CARE LESS. SCAMMERS.

By far, this has been one of the worst and most frustrating experiences of my life, and certainly the penultimate worst car buying opportunity I have had. This company is unreliable, untrustworthy, and unwilling to do anything to change those views. In ordering a vehicle, one would expect that that they would receive the vehicle in the condition for which they agreed to purchase the car. If the car is not in that condition, one would expect that the vehicle would be repaired accordingly and inspected before being delivered again, with some form of apology in the form of financial compensation or a discount for the time an inconvenience a near two- week delay would cause. However with this company it would appear that common sense is not so common.
I ordered a vehicle from this company in early October in a condition that was undamaged beside a few scratches. The car was supposed to arrive on the 13th, however, 2 hours prior to delivery I received a phone call that the vehicle had become damaged on their lot on their time and was not in a condition to be delivered. I was told that they were sorry for the trouble and would ensure to pay for a rental car for my inconvenience. This did not occur, for when calling the company, I was informed that that was no longer the policy. To quote them "delivery times were not guaranteed", and there was nothing they could do besides repair the vehicle to the pre-agreed upon condition. While frustrated, I agreed to wait for the two-week repair time in order to fix the vehicle, paying for a rental out of my own pocket.
The day before the second delivery (with less than 24 hours notice) I was informed that they had changed my delivery time to earlier in the day without consulting me. This created an issue with my employer and my work schedule. As such I tried to revert the time to what was agreed upon initially. Once again, the company told me it was not in their policy to do so. When I said that I would now have to take a half day off work to accommodate this given the short notice they provided me and asked if there was anything they could do to help me, I was told once again that there was nothing they could do besides provide me with a car that was "up to Carvana standards".
The irony of that statement rings in my ears as I currently write this review, for as I received the car, at the new, non-agreed upon time, I discovered that the damage I was told would be fixed was either not done, or done so poorly that it was ridiculous to consider it acceptable. The car was obviously not examined before having it delivered to me in any amount of detail. As such, I rejected the car as any sane and frustrated individual would do.
A short while later, upon receiving a call from their representative (whom, to their credit, was the utmost professional) I asked them to provide me with any reason as to why I should proceed with their company given the lack of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail this whole process has shown. Once again, I was provided with the answer of being able to ensure the car was up to "Carvana standards". I told their representative as frank as I tell you now, given the facts of the situation and their inability to provide anything of value to make the situation right, the company had lost my trust, my respect, and now my business. I urge all individuals who are curious about this company to stay away, for the sake of your wallet, your time, and your sanity.

I received a car that was unreliable. The engine oil light came on within hours of taking delivery. The front-end shook very bad. This car should not be sold. I spoke with a mechanic who informed me that the car a 2015 Kia Optima is known for having engine oil problems and to return it immediately. The website boasts a lengthy check list. This is not the case!. I returned the car and purchased another, more expensive car. The delivery of this vehicle was delayed a week! This vehicle is not running correctly either. The entire ordeal was completely aggravating. I received numerous apologies over and over and that's it. There are much better options for price, finance and customer service. The website is slick and quick to get you sold then it's downhill fast, it's bait and switch.

Bought vehicle advertised as a 4 wheel drive and received 2 wheel drive. I didn't recognize this until I needed to use 4 wheel function weeks later. Their 7 day return period had passed by that time. So I contacted them: Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Their false advertising is gonna cost us dearly, and all they're offering is $500 and they're not going to work with us on an exchange? In addition, I've been texting continuously with no replies on their end. Does Carvana even care about their customers?"

I will leave this simple, Carvana buys a car and delivers to you. Yes, they fix most items, yes, they will let you return it in 7 days, but they put zero effort into any safety or mechanical check into this vehicle. If you want to buy someone else's problems and have your car sit at a dealership, then go for it. Otherwise run away. Carvana should be banned from all states not just a few.

Carvana gave me a very fair offer for my 2019 Corvette. After my acceptance, the sale of the car was made very easy. They drove to my house with their truck, inspected the car, had me sign the paperwork, loaded up the car and handed me a check. It took all of 20 minutes. Couldn't be much easier.

I had my offer in seconds after answering a few simple questions. Their offer was several thousand more than a dealer and Carmax had offered. The pickup process took less than 15 minutes. I will definitely use them again.

On June 10th, 2022, I purchased from Carvana a previously owned 2013 BMW X5xDrive35i Sport Activity Sport Utility. As an inducement in the sales process, Carvana provides a "checklist" of items that have been inspected by their technicians. These items include brakes, mechanicals such as fluid pumps and oil pumps and various checks of items such as oil leaks. Carvana provides a 100 day warranty. On the 112th day, the fluid from the vehicle's windshield washer pump leaked out completely.
system would need replacement at a cost of $1,200. Most disturbingly, I was informed there was a pre-existing but not noticeable (without the car being on a lift) oil pan leak, which could only be repaired for $5,000.
I have contacted Carvana client advocates and been informed that I am (my words, not theirs) that I am out of luck because I did not purchase additional buyer's protection and was 22 days beyond the 100 days. I WOULD NEVER HAVE PURCHASED THS VEHICLE WITHOUT THE INSPECTION CHECKLIST (asample is attached) THAT TOLD ME NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS EXISTED. I was induced to enter into this purchase with an inspection checklist that was not accurate.

I was driving home from the dealership and noticed many issues. I called right away, then waited a week to go in for service to a Carvana authorized repair location (30 minutes) from my house. Clutch and brake issues, exterior flaws not noted by Carvana all the way to a cut exhaust pipe put back together with a hose clamp that failed!! How does a car pass a "150 point inspection" with a hose clamp holding the exhaust together?
After over $6K in repair work the car is still having issues. The car needed a new clutch, brakes and even the drive belts had to be replaced along with exhaust and bodywork. Still trying to figure out how it passed a rigorous 150 point inspection and needed brakes and belts, not to mention a whole new clutch assembly. They admitted and stated "a few items may have been overlooked, but we fixed them". I was denied a buyback by Carvana.
Fast forward a month as I am busy with work, I had to drive to LA for a few days and took the car as it had been sitting. On the way back yesterday I took the vehicle to CarMax Escondido as I passed by on my way home. I decided to get a trade offer to just be done with the car and move on. I was offered 4K for a car I bought for 19K just 5-6 months ago. I was completely taken back to how that was possible. Well, it turns out they ran an Autocheck report and it flagged for odometer rollback! This was not disclosed when I bought the car! Now I can't even trade this POS in.
Carvana today 10/21 is still declining wrongdoing and a buyback. They are stating they fixed the odometer issue per management and consider the matter handled. This is absurd and not acceptable. I would never have purchased a vehicle if this was made known to me at the time of purchase of odometer manipulation, as I would never be able to sell it for market value with this item in its history. I want a complete buyback and my money returned, this is completely inexcusable!

Purchasing a car from the Carvana website is supposed to be easy, but my experience is anything but easy. This was the worst experience I have ever had purchasing anything in my life. When you purchase a car through this website, they ask for verification of your income with paystubs and bank statements. I uploaded these things multiple times and was still asked. I just canceled the order because it was so stupid and ridiculous to be asked so many times for what I already gave them. I don't know if their employees can't read or do basic math, but they are not very good. I am not happy and would never recommend this website to purchase a car. If they can't get do even the basics when a customer is first buying a car, I can only imagine how bad they are once a customer gets the car. No thank you Carvana, you are terrible.

I can barely put into words how HORRIBLE their customer service is. After my delivery date being pushed back THREE TIMES with little to no explanation (please note, the explanation will change depending on who you talk to) my car was delivered COVERED IN DOG HAIR. I don’t know what standards they have in regards to these vehicles but it is LOW. Now, I love my car and I was willing to forgive all the nonsense, but as I was pulling out of my garage, the garage staff stopped me and alerted me to the fact that my car was leaking oil. Come to find out, it was because the valve/gasket covering the oil filter at the bottom of my car WAS NEVER TIGHTENED. So since my delivery 2 weeks ago, a steady stream of oil has been leaking. Which in my opinion is DANGEROUS AND NEGLIGENT.
The best part is (and if you are still reading this God bless you and RUN from this company) when I called customer service, they told me that 1. Everyone in leadership was too busy to speak to me and 2. THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. I was told that my issue was a warranty issue and I needed to take it up with another company because they were not at fault. I have no idea how at this point Carvana is able to walk away with no accountability whatsoever. I am incredibly disappointed and after this car, I will never purchase or recommend them again.

Carvana is horrible. We decided to purchase a car from Carvana after an accident. We had a large insurance settlement and third party financing for the rest. We needed to submit copies of the Cashier's Check, done. Copies of Insurance, done. Copies of Driver License, done. Credit Union Information, done. Set up a delivery date, done. We did everything they asked and were told "we are done". Then the car got sold to someone else and we had to restart the whole process. All Carvana would say is "we're sorry", "we apologize", and "sometimes this happens". However they did absolutely nothing to make it up to the customer. They don't care, they just say "sorry" and assume that makes it all better. It doesn't.

I will admit, the initial process of trading a car through Carvana was easy. The follow-through was painful, however, because Carvana doesn't seem to have enough employees to do the necessary work in a timely manner. Carvana also has a lot of very separate departments that use automated communications. When I would call in to customer service to ask where a document had been mailed, it would take hours to get the information from the registration department (if I got an answer at all). When I finally got the missing document in the mail, signed it, notarized it, and sent it back via email, a few days later I would get several emails and texts warning me that the document delay could result in late registration. This happened twice. Absolutely frustrating, absolutely unnecessary. Carvana, get your right hand and your left hand in the same room so they can talk to each other and make this process less stressful for your customers.

I opted to sell my car to Carvana via the video sales appointment rather than in person. This allowed for me to complete the sale without needing to drive to the nearest Carvana center which would have proven difficult with needing my co-registrant present. The video appointment was quick and easy. My car was sold and I received the agreed upon price with no surprise adjustments. The stressful thing was that my car was sold Friday afternoon. Banks don't operate over the weekend so while my car was picked up on Friday, I did not receive payment until the following Monday. It did not feel good having my car out of my possession with no money in-hand. If you opt for a video sales appointment, sign up for Monday-Wednesday for peace of mind.

I purchased a vehicle and decided on day four I wanted to return the vehicle and have mine returned to me. I scheduled several appointments for the exchange only to be told my vehicle was at the hub and it would be another week before they could return it. After they missed 2 appointments they finally revealed they'd already sold my vehicle and they were really sorry. Sorry doesn't make me whole. Now I'm carless and not willing to accept their offer of the trade value for the vehicle. I have to incur additional costs, I've been inconvenienced for nearly a month, and the blatant breach of contract seems to be readily acceptable by Carvana.
Each conversation I had with Carvana I asked repeatedly if they could confirm the return of my vehicle to which they answered in the affirmative each time until it could no longer be put off. They had no choice but to tell me my vehicle was sold but only after I pressured them to give me a solid delivery date. This company is getting away with whatever they like since it appears no one is challenging them. It would cost the consumer more to obtain legal counsel and I'm sure they have a batch of attorneys who do nothing more than put consumers off by dragging issues out for an extended period of time.

Carvana has a smart concept for buying a car these days. The days of sitting at the dealership waiting all day I thought were over. I spent hours picking out the perfect car that checked all my boxes. Monday morning came and they couldn't verify my employment due to their computers were down. Little did I know that was just the beginning of the emotional roller coaster Carvana puts you through. I called Carvana daily to make sure they had everything they needed for delivery. The website and the app say different things so you never know. I signed my contract at least 7 times. After receiving over 6 emails saying how excited I must be for my car to be delivered tomorrow, they were counting the minutes till my new car arrives. To wake up 3 hours before delivery to see a message that said: "We have pushed back the delivery of your car for a week due to the car didn't pass inspection". That happened 2 more times with 2 different cars.
I said I'm going to try this one more time. I picked a car and finally got the delivery. The car was empty, I had no high beam lights, and there is no spare tire in the truck. I have been emailed and received a text from Carvana telling me there were some missing signatures for my registration and that I had to sign papers right now. The advocate I talked to after receiving many conflicting emails and text messages said Carvana Fed Ex me some papers to sign. I had 24 hours to get them signed and notarized. The advocate 10 minutes later said that was his mistake and that was incorrect information.
I still don't know if I will get my registration and tag due to one knows what papers I need to sign. I've had so many emails and texts saying very different information. I've called Carvana every day for almost 3 weeks now to keep this purchase on track the best I could. I feel If I had all these problems and only hit the high points others are having similar experiences. I tell Carvana when I talk to them daily they need to tighten up.

I checked with Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds to get the value range of my vehicle before getting any quotes. I wasn't going to waste time with car dealerships because of the games they play and always trying to low ball the customer. Carmax was the first quote I received but they surprisingly gave me a price that was at the low end of the value range. I received another online quote that was even worse. So, I decided to give Carvana a shot. I answered all their questions honestly and they came back with a quote that was $4,000 higher than Carmax. I was a little nervous about the large discrepancy, so I began reading the posted reviews on their website that had to do with selling cars to them. I felt better after reading the reviews and started the selling process.
I ended up having to upload pictures of a few documents, deciding on a pickup date and whether I wanted a paper check or direct deposit. I decided on a paper check since I didn't feel comfortable releasing my vehicle without having money in hand. The advocate (Kelly) called the morning of pickup to verify the time. He was very nice, introduced himself, took pictures of my vehicle, drove it down the street, and returned. He gave us the printed check for the quoted amount, had us sign a few documents and gave us copies. And that was it as we watched him load our vehicle on his truck. It was such an easy experience that I would not hesitate to use Carvana again to sell my vehicle.

So after speaking with someone we went on the site and chose another car with a delivery date of Wednesday at 5pm (2 days ago). At 3:45pm husband gets a notification the delivery was pushed to next Wednesday!! I freak out and go online and changed it to Thursday because it was open, call Carvana and the agent tells me the freaking keys are lost to my car!! I argued with her about the $990 shipping I paid for a car that still isn’t here.
I live in Detroit, where there are dealerships everywhere, is there a reason they can’t take the car to a ford dealership and get at least one key made!?!? No reason at all. Then they call my husband and tell him they found the keys and will deliver tomorrow, why can’t you deliver today? The original delivery time hasn’t even passed yet!! No we will bring tomorrow. Thursday comes and 3:30pm he gets a call that the keys were not correct and the delivery has been moved to next Thursday!!! I’m so fed up right now!!! See I need a car, I’m self employed and my vehicle was in an accident and was totaled, I had to return my rental because the claim was paid out. I have no vehicle. I trusted carvana to deliver not 1 but 2 vehicles on time and they have failed us. I fear now that the car will be a junker and waste even more of my time. Then car #2 - they gave me 2 options 1) fix the brakes, headlight cover & cruise control and deliver a week late or 2) deliver it and I can take it to a repair facility and they would 100% cover the cost w/no issues at all.
Well, I did option 2 and guess what? They denied the claim. Now they refuse to fix my brake issue they told me would be 100% covered as it was not to their quality standards. Just told me they wanted to make sure the car was up to their standards. The listing stated all green on inspection and no problems disclosed on Carfax.
On receipt of car, headlamps had deep cracks and pits from rocks or other road debris. Went to a body shop that advised me the nose of the car was just repainted. Probably damaged from same rocks or debris that damaged headlamps. The headlamps are not disclosed in pictures or listing. When I finally get to a dealership I am advised that the entire headlamp assemblies must be replaced and the approx cost is $4000. Carvana passes concern to Silverrock and Silverrock denies claim without any research. Stated 2 keys yet on deliver told only 1 key and I would have the other in a week or two.
Six weeks later and no key and directed to their warranty provider. Warranty provider refers me to their vendor who doesn't pick up phone and eventually states key is on order with no promise of delivery. Dealer next door can have the very same key programmed and ready in two days. Carvana passes off the responsibility to Silverrock who then states they have already paid Key Express so I have to deal with them. Key Express doesn't pick up phone for me or Silverrock. The car I purchased is not one commonly available so I continued to try and make the transaction work but wouldn't ever purchase from them again.

I will never buy anothe rvehicle any other way. Carvana made the full process from financing, choosing the vehicle that I wanted, a down payment and monthly payment that I can work with, to the delivery a walk in the park. Carvana customer service continued to keep me posted through the complete process, the seven-day money back guarantee was great, it gave us time to take my 2020 SUV to our mechanic and we got a great bill of health. Tom the man that delivered my SUV was fantastic. Wonderful job Carvana. Thanks so much!

I purchased a Tesla free and clear, no loan for delivery. Cash cleared in 3 days, however, they required 9 days to delivery for this payment choice. Then, even at their 9 day, they were unable to deliver in time and pushed an additional 3 days. The push was without my consent, and I was to be on work travel at that time so I could not be there for the delivery date/time. The chat feature only portrayed individuals who did not know how to use the system and held EXTREMELY long answer times, keeping me online for 2 hours at a time. Eventually I gave up and called. The woman (Julie) I spoke to, did not know how to help me but was the most helpful throughout the entire process. She eventually was able to cancel the order and apply my payment to re-start the process within the Carvana website.
The car was then all of the sudden able to be delivered the day before the notice they sent (remember I was out of town for work) as long as I picked the car up from the Carvana location in town. Finally, I pick up my car and it was on the charger apparently all day. It was dark out so I was unable to inspect the vehicle clearly. Notice the next morning when I inspect in the daylight that the charging package (cable and adapter) are missing from the vehicle. I tried to find the location information with no luck so I called the Carvana number and they weren't able to call the location either. They offered a $115 check instead of locating the promised equipment. The equipment costs $200 on the Tesla site and left me with no way to charge the vehicle. I will never order from Carvana again and will ensure friends and family understand the experience.

I signed up to sell car to Carvana. I followed all the steps and I decided to drop off since they offer to get you an ride-share service up to 50 miles from your home. After signing the title over they tell me "we don't do that anymore" even though it's posted right on the website. Disappointment when I go to chat support and they tell me it's "subject to availability"... What availability? It's a ride-share service, which the area I dropped off car in had it. I would have opted for pick-up instead given the way everything was handled. I will never buy or sell to Carvana again.

If you know what you want, this is the place to buy a car. If you need to shop and look at cars first, you better go to a dealership. But Carvana was a first-rate experience for me, literally like buying a car on Amazon. The entire process had the look and feel of legitimacy, and when they were interacting with me through my bank, I felt even more assured. The car they delivered was just what was shown online. So if you see something you like on Carvana, don't be afraid to give them a try.

This is my second purchase this year. Overall, we're happy but there are little things that made it less than flawless. The purchase process is painless. Start to completion was 15 to 20 minutes. The trade in was easy and fair. If I paid attention to getting a insurance card with the NEW vin number differs than buying at a dealership. The cars were clean, one fueled up the second not so much. They need to have the detailer not to be so aggressive and leaving buffer scratches. Both black cars had fresh marks all over.
Now comes the heartache. The second car a 2016 Jeep Cherokee is an awesome vehicle. The tech who did the "150 point inspection" blew the basic brake inspection. Since the car came from NJ and the rotors were separated to the point the machined surface was gone. To be fair the process to take it in to be evaluated and repaired was effortless with SilverRock. Pepboys completed the work in 2 hours and I'm back on the road. There were "speed bumps" along the way but not unworkable. I come from dealerships and this process was easy and I enjoy both cars. Since our purchase family members really like how the process went. Would I do it again, yes but I'm too old to keep buying more car. But it could happen.

I would definitely recommend, and do it again if I need to in the future! Great job!

Carvana is incompetent in every way, and this was the worst car buying experience I've ever had. They misinformed me and my 3rd party lienholder, so much that my out of state bank was extremely frustrated with Carvana themselves. I then went in circles with their title/registration department, which they also screwed up. I had to pull up my state's Department of Revenue website to correct them and show the proper vehicle title laws. My car delivery date then got pushed out because of a glitch on their website, so I had to escalate to get my original delivery date back.
Upon delivery of the vehicle, it was clearly not inspected and was in terrible condition. There was overspray and significant buffing marks across the entire vehicle. It's evident they tried to cover up a wreck and the body repairs were terrible. The rotors were rusted, and the brake pads were the incorrect size. The sunroof was also non-functional. Fortunately I had my own inspection done and that resulted in 12-15 warranty claims, some were approved some were not. Carvana's entire business model is based around convenience, and I spent 25-30 hours on the phone with them over the course of a few weeks. Some of their employees should be fired, and I will go back to purchasing private party in the future.

Updated on 10/15/2022: I am in the middle of a purchase and it has been the worst experience. It took me weeks to decide to use Carvana but some friends talked me into it because they had a good experience. My experience has been… Picked out the vehicle. Waited days to be approved from start to finish. Vehicle was supposed to be delivered last weekend but the check engine light came on so it was supposed to come today. Received a text from the driver that he had been put on the wrong route for his first delivery so he was going to be late. Get another text from the driver stating that the warning hadn’t been fixed.
That is inexcusable. I have been waiting for over a week for the problem to be fixed. I was told to call customer service because the hub manager wouldn’t speak to me but could be heard in the background laughing. His name is Keegan. The driver's name is Bobby. They both thought it was funny that my car wasn’t being delivered. I called the number I was given and went through a huge runaround about the hub is busy. I don’t care. You promised a car two weeks ago and now I have to wait longer because someone forgot to put it on a list to be fixed. I am now without a car. All they can do is call me on Monday. How am I supposed to get to work? These people are the worst. I will be reaching out to the BBB the state prosecutor and this site.
Original: My vehicle was supposed to be delivered this morning. They had me get insurance for the day the was supposed to be delivered. I got a call from Carvana stating that a light came on and it wouldn’t be delivered. I was told change your start date for your insurance. I called the insurance and was told that since the start day had already started I couldn’t change the start date and that I would just lose the time. So here I sit with no vehicle that I have insurance on. I reached out to customer care and was told it will only be a week longer. Yep that sucks!

The Kia Sorento I purchased arrived with four immediately noticeable problems. I opted to keep it and have them all fixed under warranty, but they were so incredibly obvious that their whole multiple-point inspection is very suspect. A/C didn't work properly, backup cam not at all, driver-side speakers didn't work and the spare tire came with zero air in it. The customer service is pretty quick and friendly at Carvana but they aren't open on weekends. Their insurance carrier customer service is even quicker and also pretty good, but it has been a nightmare bouncing between their preferred service shop and the Kia dealership (who is not a preferred shop and needs an approved waiver to work on things that the preferred shop can't handle).
Also, they listed the color wrong on the title and even though I'm required to self register the car and pay the taxes myself, Carvana still charged me all that and will eventually issue a refund check, but it hasn't come yet and thus I'm out double what I should be for taxes until their check arrives. I loved the ease and the selection but the rest has been a massive hassle. I have been on the phone a lot. Oh, and their detailing of the interior was very lame. Lots of food bits etc. from the previous owner in deeper crevices.

Overall I will state that I am happy with the car I got & Carvana in general. But the old adage of "if something seems too good to be true, it probably is" applies somewhat here. I did a lot of online research before choosing a new vehicle. While my 2016 KIA Soul was not too old or in bad condition, this make/model has several "known engine issues" which make driving unsafe at times, plus it has been one of the most stolen vehicles around here, so I decided to trade it in. Carvana actually offered about $5000 *more* for my Soul than the local KIA dealership was offering, so of course I started searching the site for trade-ins, instead of dealing with the salespeople at the dealership.
My heart was set on a Jeep Renegade, but it had too many negative reviews online, so friends/family advised me to try Nissan. I really liked the Nissan Kicks models I was seeing, so I went with a 2021 model. It was delivered, but there was a problem. Someone had entered my KIA Soul as having a manual shift, which is silly b/c none of them have that. The delivery driver was nice & eventually got someone on the phone after 5pm. The manager offered to let me keep the deal -or- they would have to rewrite the contract and re-deliver. Since there was a possibility of more $, I said I'd have them re-deliver. This wasn't much of an inconvenience, but it was a strange mistake. There was confusing talk of "computer systems down" & "nobody can fix this right now" etc. That was a Tuesday, and I had it re-delivered on Saturday, with $200 extra for my KIA. (Not great, but I took it.)
In the meantime, the website performed badly. It asked no less than 3 times to upload my driver's license, when it was impossible for me to send a more clear picture. And when I got to the portion of the 'identity verification' questions, it just spun and spun, never giving me the questions, but then saying it was 'verified' and moving on to the next section. I should have ignored that, because I tried the online chat. That was a mistake. I talked to several agents who clearly didn't know what they were talking about. Obviously working in a call center farm. One of them assured me everything was ok, but another said 'since you failed the identity questions, you'll have to pay out-of-pocket for the car, or secure a 3rd party loan'. I said "No, I never GOT the questions, and you already gave me a trade-in quote and loan offer" and closed that chat.
Upon re-delivery, the car had a small chip in the windshield, directly below my field of vision, some scratches on the L doors that looks like something brushed by the car, and a chip through the paint on the back bumper. I didn't notice these before, and they were not detailed in the "thorough inspection" photos on the site. I sent these pictures in to the supposed Carvana insurance group within the first 7 days, and they said "no - these are within acceptable wear and tear, and you can contact your personal insurance for the windshield chip". So their "thorough inspection" missed these small things, and they refused to fix them, even though I could clearly see them with my naked eyes. I see other reviews on here where they fixed such things, but not mine, so just know that their "satisfaction guarantee" is completely random if you are going to buy a car from Carvana.
Also, the tires need immediate replacement. The treads are worn down and will be unsafe for winter. That was never mentioned by Carvana, but my trade-in was going to need new tires for winter as well, so I let that one go. I still am keeping the Nissan Kicks, but might reconsider the company next time due to the various hassles and disappointments. Overall moderately happy.

Next dealership offered $10k...top of trade-in value. Carvana offered $12600, roughly midpoint of trade-in and resell value within 5 minutes. I am in the midst of the absolute worst car-buying experience of my life with Carvana. 20 minutes prior to my vehicle being delivered, A rep called me and told me that the car hasn't passed NC inspection and also needs additional repairs, therefore my delivery would be delayed (again) another 10 days, then he started laughing at me. When I called and spoke with a rep, instead of allowing me to speak with a supervisor, she was recommending other vehicles, then swapped the car I purchased for one that was several thousand dollars more and added it to my profile.
Now, the car I purchased is apparently in limbo, all my signed contracts are deleted from my account and I still have yet to speak with a supervisor or manager (still waiting for a 24-48 hour callback). This is a nightmare that I cannot wake up from. I have officially insured and paid for a vehicle that I don't even have, not to mention my lost income for not having transportation. Carvana is the worst. And I don't see this situation improving whatsoever.

I chose to buy a car from Carvana because I had little time to shop around, knew exactly what I needed and when, and didn't already have a car to go drive around to dealerships and explore options. It seemed like it would save me time if not money to have a car delivered from Carvana after shopping online. I ended up having multiple issues with paperwork and insurance approval and needed to be on hold multiple times trying to get help with these issues, which would have been much easier to do with a smaller office who knew me rather than with a faceless corporation. I paid with cash and it took almost a week for Carvana to clear the payment even though the funds left my account immediately on payment. Ultimately the car I got is fine, but I think that I would have had a better experience without dealing with Carvana.

It's like the antenna is not picking up. I can still play my phone through it but can't get radio signal. The truck wasn't quite as clean on the outside as I would have thought. I purchased a 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia from Carvana. The car was listed as "Carvana Certified" through their 150-point inspection process. The very day I received the car, the oil maintenance and brake service reminder messages came on. Carvana offers a 7-day trial period, so I took the vehicle to my long-time trusted mechanic to check the vehicle and look for any major problems that would cause me to reject the vehicle. My mechanic stated that brake pad thickness on the front brakes were at 3-4mm and the rotors were pitted badly. I had my mechanic replace the pads and rotors and do an oil change, which cost me $1,000 out of pocket. Upon further inspection of the car, I found red overspray on the front black grills, tires and under the hood.
I also found orange peel and dust trapped under the paint. It was evident that this car was repainted and Carvana did not disclose that on the listing. I reported all of these things to Carvana within the 7-day period and requested reimbursement for the brakes and oil change, but told them I was willing to keep the vehicle. They pushed me off to their "warranty provider" SilverRock, who was quick to deny my claims. They told me that the overspray was "acceptable wear and tear." The oil and pads are explicitly excluded from the Carvana 100-day warranty. The bottom line is that Carvana delivered a car that was "Carvana Certified" through a 150-point inspection that needed an oil change and new brakes within the first 39 miles of service. Carvana did not stand by their certification and warranty.

I have yet to purchase a vehicle from Carvana but selling one to them I have. This was my first experience and I have to say it was so much easier and hassle-free compared to selling my vehicle to a dealership and dealing with them nickel and diming me. I went to their website and entered all of my vehicle information and was given an offer that had an expiration date. The offer was too good to be true but with the used car market the way it is the price was legit. Once accepting the offer the whole process became even easier. I set a pick up date and how I wanted to get paid which I chose ACH checking deposit.
The day of delivery the Carvana rep called me to let me know that he was running about an hour behind schedule as he was coming from 2 hours away which was the closest Carvana to me. No big deal and I was glad he called and he even picked me up a Bang energy drink as I told him I was still tired from working the night before. Kudos! He arrived, looked at the odometer to make sure the mileage I entered was correct, and took a couple of pictures. I then electronically signed a bill of sale as well as a printed copy and he took my keys and vehicle title from me and I simultaneously got a notification from Carvana that the transfer for my payment was initiated. 2 days layer the payment arrived in my bank account. Again if you've ever been to a dealership and tried to sell your car you'll know they try any and every way to lowball you off the price. Not the case here. Highly recommend Carvana!

The online process is seamless, user-friendly, and fast. We needed a car quickly and I am a single mother that works more than full time, so car shopping was not really an option. I looked through Carvana and the thing that sold me was how quick the process would be. We needed an additional car like yesterday! Ordered the perfect car, submitted docs, signed everything and was to have the car delivered the following Monday.
The Friday night before, I received a message that the car was moved not one, not two, but three weeks out! Why? I called customer care and they said because of needing a tire replacement. It takes 3 weeks to get a tire replacement? I requested to have the car delivered anyway and have it fixed locally, because I can easily get that job done in 2 hours. Negative. The entire point of this purchase was how quickly my daughter would be back on the road. Now we are waiting nearly 3 weeks *if* we don’t get delayed again. Upon further research, this appears to be a consistent issue with Carvana. Why offer delivery dates that you know you can not honor? Disappointed is an understatement. Not to mention the amount of funds that will be spent on rideshare services during that time.

I loved reading all the details on it and not being pushed around by a salesperson. It had exactly what we needed and we were able to get it delivered to our city in a timely manner. They provided easy to understand financing options, so far so good. The pickup was seamless. We were there for less than 5 minutes, signed our paperwork, then drove off with our new vehicle that was exactly how the description said. The only negative is that they rescheduled our pickup order twice. They didn't ask "when can you pickup," I would get a text 30 minutes before our pickup time saying I was rescheduled for the next day.
Their customer service is horrible. Rude people who really couldn't give a crap whether or not we bought a car from them. Honestly, if they only get better customer support, that would be a huge improvement. I wish I could give it a 5/5 because the only thing that went wrong was the rescheduling. But it was handled poorly. Everything else was great about the experience. We will use them again for future cars.

I bought a car through Carvana 6 years ago. The process was smooth, delivery was prompt, paperwork taken care of, registration on time. So smooth that I chose to buy through them again in August (2022). First problem was a delay in delivery, this can happen but it's expensive when you are renting a vehicle while waiting for the delivery. The main issue has been the registration. Carvana bakes the cost of registering the vehicle into the sale price, great in the sense that you don't have to do it avoiding trips to the BMV. However, it seems they frequently (yes, frequently according to the Facebook community discussing issues with Carvana) do not have the title in-hand for the vehicle they sold.
In my case they did not submit the paperwork to the state BMV for registration until 10 days after the temporary plate expired. They were unable to provide a second temporary plate so I have been unable to drive the car without the risk of a $160 ticket. I'm making loan payments and paying for insurance on a car I can't drive legally, and renting costs $45 a day. I am still expecting to have to wait for another 2 weeks for plates and registration to arrive. Customer service representatives are very pleasant, but the best they can do is provide a $500 check (which is nice, but doesn't come close to covering the costs associated with not driving the vehicle), and apologize a lot. One warning about customer service is that I had a couple of people promise to call me back with information and this did not happen.
Eventually I got one person who has been helpful as a contact, but he isn't really able to move anything along, so he can tell me what's happening but can't actually change anything. It seems like the amount of business has grown but the company has not grown to meet the business demands. What seems like a great thing 6 years ago has become just another company failing to meet the promises they make, honestly I'm waiting for the inevitable class-action suit to be filed. They'll DRIVE YOU UNHAPPY!!

I had never heard of this way to buy. So I am approaching the expiration of my 100 day warranty on October 4, 2022. On September 20, 2022 the car malfunctioned going down the highway saying my engine pressure was too low, I had just had the oil changed and car serviced on September 2, 2022.
Within seconds the vehicle shut down to neutral and I managed to get pulled over, it would not start again. A tow came out and repair shop informed my motor was seized and to repair this BMW would cost me a whopping $12,500.00. I am still paying the loan as I just bout the car in June! Wow! And Carvana will not honor the warranty as I’m 4,000 miles over already. So there you go folks! That’s my experience with Carvana in a nutshell. Thankfully I can understand that this life is more than money and I will make it. But I will always from here on out let others know DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

I wanted to share my recent experience. Our family van broke down so we needed a car as soon as possible because our other vehicle can only fit four out of six family members. I found a Nissan Pathfinder that I wanted to purchase on the Carvana website. I completed all the tasks including taking out a third party loan, acquiring insurance, account verification, signing all the documentation, and sending in scans of the check to be handed off at the time of vehicle pick up.
The website listed the Nissan Pathfinder in Kansas City, MO so I got a bus ticket to get down there from Ames Iowa. I had a call with Carvana and my bank and we discussed the timing of the check hand off, providing the image, and confirmed on the phone that the bank would 2-day mail me the check and that I would have the check at the time of the handoff. I uploaded the image of the check provided to me by the bank and thought that everything was set to go.
What followed was the worst customer experience I've ever had for the most inane reason possible. A message appeared on my account that they needed to confirm if I was handing the check at the time of pickup, or if it was being mailed. I tried to confirm this several times with the chat representative and didn't get an answer from the advocates. One advocate gave a different reason than was on the customer portal, which was that the check image wasn't clear enough. I got a message that the deadline had been extended to Monday 9/27 at 1:00 PM central and that the vehicle pickup date wouldn't be possible anymore after that and the vehicle would be released.
I tried calling into Carvana the following Sunday and had a long conversation with an advocate. The advocate was nice enough, but the message was that no matter what the circumstance was, if they didn't have a clear picture of the back of the check, the "underwriters" couldn't approve the purchase. The fact that they aren't providing financing and are just getting a check didn't matter.
The front of the check was clear, and an image was provided for the back though it was blurry. Considering that the amount and the recipient of funds is on the front, there is no reason I can think of to delay executing the purchase. Additionally, the representative should have noted that the check was in transit since we specifically talked about it and I didn't physically have the check. The representatives that asked for a new picture seemed to not understand that I can't take a picture of a check that is in the mail, and I can't make the check magically appear.
I offered to provide an image of the back as soon as possible but there was no flexibility. I also wasn't even given until the end of the day on 9/27, just until 11:00 ET, 1:00 CT. I offered to pay the cash amount from my checking account that had been verified ahead of time to keep the date but this was also rejected. I ultimately got the check in the mail at 3:00, missing the window by two hours. Also, it turns out the vehicle isn't actually in Kansas City which is part of the issue with logistics which feels like a misrepresentation to me.
This ruined my weekend and put my family in a bad position since we don't have another way to get around. I'm also out the cost of the ticket I purchased to make the one way trip. The "advocate" had absolutely no agency or ability to do anything except extend the window in which I could still purchase the vehicle for a later date. This is nice except for the fact that the back of the check has no information and could have easily been verified after I received the check in the mail rather than throwing everything into jeopardy. Also, as I explained I was traveling a long distance from another state and dealing with work scheduling so the date we requested was what we needed to work with.
There was no flexibility or sympathy for my circumstance even though the actual payment wasn't due for another week and I had been clear and communicative with the company representatives. I went to leave a review on the review section of the site but I can't even do that because you've restricted it to verified purchasers who leave an "honest review" which seems to imply they edit/exclude what they don't like. I also sent an email to their Carvana Advocate email address and got an automated response that it wasn't monitored which isn't exactly encouraging. In the end, I've purchased a vehicle elsewhere and I can safely say I will never consider another purchase with Carvana since they were willing to throw away a potential service for a ridiculous reason.

I sold my car to Carvana and it was the easiest most pleasant transaction I’ve ever had. Their website was very user friendly as well as the customer service staff when I needed to speak to someone live. The drop off was seamless and efficient. The staff at the drop off point were very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I would recommend using Carvana to all my friends and family for either buying or selling a vehicle.

This was a fundamental breakdown of the worst buying experience I have ever had. I met all of the deadlines and requirements set by Carvana and they did not meet theirs. They no longer deliver vehicles if you live within 100 miles of a hub. So my wife was to drive me the 75 miles to get there and the day before our scheduled appointment they canceled and put me off for a week claiming "the truck that my vehicle was on broke down." They agreed to provide an UBER. I had to call the morning of my pick up as it wasn't set up. I received a link to confirm my UBER and when I clicked it the ride had been canceled. I had to call again and was told it would be taken care of. At this writing... nothing. It will cost me $200 to UBER and I will never see that money back. Much more to the story but DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CARVANA!!!!

I had a great experience with Carvana in Raleigh. The value for my trade-in was better than what most dealerships were offering and much closer to the blue book value. I needed a 4-door car so I started shopping and dealerships were adding almost 6k to the MSRP just because of the market. I found this year's model Altima with only 1500 miles on it for about 7k less than the dealership so I thought I'd take a chance on the 7 day return policy. The process was smooth, and uploading documents only took about 40 minutes of my time over a couple days of stepping through the process.
When I arrived in Raleigh to pick up my vehicle, I was only there for about 30 minutes before I was on my way home. I signed a few documents, the associate looked over my trade-in to verify it was as described and I did the same to the new car. My only issue was that they described a minor scratch/scuff that I can't even tell is there, which is great, however there were 2 other areas I noticed imperfections. 1 area was where they removed the dealers decal from the original seller on the trunk. It's not scratched, it's just miscolored if you catch it in the right light. The other area is it the front bumper has a gouge underneath where it probably scraped the tow bed during transport. but hey, for the price and the interior being immaculate and looking brand new, I feel like I got quite a deal and saved a ton of time and aggravation with Carvana.
I see some people talking about bad experiences and I'm sure a lot of that has not only to do with your Carvana location but also what you're buying. I bought the current year's model with very low mileage so how bad of shape could it really be in? if you're buying something that's 7-10 years old and over 60k miles, anything could fail or need replacing at that age and mileage so you have to keep that in mind and I wouldn't blame Carvana for that. I had an overall great experience. Nothing like going to a dealership. The trade value was the trade value and the final purchase price was the final purchase price. The Carvana associate didn't try to sell me add-ons, have me look at other, more expensive vehicles, or any other dealership nonsense. He just wanted to finalize the paperwork and make sure I was happy and I really am. The text message updates and email alerts to keep the process moving along were great. Great experience and I'd do it over again and would recommend to my family and friends as well.

I requested several offers from companies that would buy my car (Carvana, Vroom, Carmax, local dealer) and Carvana easily offered the most for my car. The questions to answer in order to get the offer were not too numerous, but offered good detail of the vehicle. The initial 2 weeks to redeem the offer was fair. I didn't upload the additional documents (title, driver's license, odometer) since I was still evaluating other options and when I did upload those documents Carvana revised their offer to be slightly lower. I called customer service and was able to get them to reinstate the original offer very quickly (my odometer reading was actually lower than what I put in initial request). I was able to schedule an at-home appointment to transfer the vehicle and title within 48 hours, which was surprisingly quick.
The 2 people that met me for the appointment were friendly and professional. They only did a cursory inspection of the vehicle and didn't even drive it (it was in good condition and drove fine regardless). I chose the physical check option which I very quickly deposited in my back without issue. Bottom line, if they offer you the most competitive price and your vehicle has nothing wrong with it then it should be a very smooth process.

Transaction of vehicles occurred on 9/24/22. Upon arrival my purchased 2016 Tiguan showed signs of wear and tear that were typical of most used cars, so I was not surprised to find unlisted scratches and nicks. However, upon closer inspection it became clear their "100 point inspection" had either outright ignored or somehow missed necessary fixes that were not reflected whatsoever in their advertisement.
- Missing optional installs that were advertised as present on the listing, including heavy duty VW Monster mats and trunk liner with matching CarGo blocks.
- Torn bumper part that is coming off the front of the vehicle. (plastic fixture, not metal)
- Broken AC fixtures (air blows but flow and direction is non-adjustable).
The assumption that all of these parts be present and be in working order influenced my decision to purchase this vehicle, in good faith, through Carvana's online car-buying service. I recently contacted customer service about the first bullet of missing parts and I was told due to their nature as optional installs they are not covered under warranty. The bumper and fan issue is apparently being handled by SilverRock, but I have no idea whether or when these will be fixed.
As of the day of purchase, to my knowledge, the vehicle is free of any major mechanical or cosmetic issues outside of the above. I am enjoying the car itself as it fits many of my needs, and the customer service up until this point has been responsive, albeit heavily scripted at times. I ideally would prefer to keep this car. However, I am ultimately disappointed by this example of Carvana's seemingly deceptive bait-and-switch-style business practices.
This does not leave a good impression for me when it comes to the attention paid to other potential issues the car may have that have not been previously spotted by their inspection team. Until Carvana manages to remedy these issues I cannot recommend their car buying service. I'm leaving a two-star only because the buying and delivery process was relatively smooth and painless, and most reps I worked with were very pleasant and patient.

I cannot speak to anyone else's experience, but ours was really easy. My 80 year-old mom realized she shouldn't be driving and decided to sell her car. It took a couple tries to provide all the correct documentation, but once we did and everything was approved, we made the appointment for the drop off. Mom signed her name 5 or 6 times, they handed her a check, and we walked out after 10 minutes. No one was more surprised than me at how simple and quick it was. They provided me with a 90-day temp tag, but two days before my temporary registration was to expire, I had to call them, only to be informed that I'd have to wait 12 days before they could get me another temporary tag and in the meantime, I'd have to find another means of transportation? In other words, I couldn't drive my newly purchased vehicle because they were unable to register it in the 90 days. So when I asked them if they could speed up the process, the answer was simply no, when I asked why they didn't reach out to me 12 days earlier, they had no answer. Not a good way to run a business. Absolutely the worst company I ever had to deal with in my existence. They made errors at every step of the way from offering "free delivery" (I had to drive an hour and a half to pick up the vehicle) to moving my date of pickup, to not providing instruction, to messing up my payment several times. They wasted countless hours of my time on the phone..telling me they had "logistical errors" with no further explanation. When I finally got the car the brakes were rotted, worn, and screeching/grinding..this was after I was assured that the car went through a Carvana inspection.
I called to receive a copy of the inspection report and was not surprised to find out that it never happened and was not attached to the file on the vehicle. These people are irresponsible liars on every level and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemies. They had the car I wanted for the price I wanted to pay..but what I saved in cash I paid full in frustration. If there was a 0 star option they would earn it. I checked out Carvana after spending a lot of wasted time at a Ken Ganley dealership. The dealership offered me a very low number for my old Lincoln as a trade in ($8,000) and a high price for the 2019 Lincoln that I was looking to buy. A friend said, "Try Carvana." So I put the info for my Lincoln into their website and was offered $14,090 for it and I searched their inventory for the 2019 that I wanted and found it for $1200 less than Ken Ganley. It was great! I didn't have to waste any more time at a dealership sitting and waiting while the salesperson has to "check with their manager". The girl from Carvana who delivered my new car and picked up my old one was very efficient and helpful. She had all the paperwork ready and the whole process took less than an hour. I will definitely use them again when I need a car.

First of all, we have used Carvana in the past and were very satisfied with them, but this transaction has been a nightmare. I have filed two separate complaints with the BBB just to try to get someone at Carvana to reach out to me. I purchased a Toyota Tacoma from Carvana around the 1st week of August and was told the truck would be delivered on Friday, August 12th, 2022. I took off work and waited the entire day for the delivery, but no one came or called to reschedule. I paid cash for the truck so I was understandably and tried a least a dozen times to "try" to reach someone at Carvana that could explain why I never received the truck or even a phone call to at least reschedule the delivery.
Finally, after filing a complaint with the BBB, they assigned me a customer service manager to handle my situation. I decided that the truck did not have all the amenities that I was used to and so I decided to return the truck within my 7-day money-back guarantee. It has been scheduled at least 3 separate times and they still haven't come to pick up the truck. I am so frustrated, all I want is to return the truck and receive my money back! If you are looking at purchasing a vehicle through Carvana, I would suggest waiting until they can get their act together. As of today Sept. 20th, I still have the truck and they have over $47K of my hard-earned money. I hope someone at Carvana is following up on these reviews. I would like this issue resolved.

I recently purchased a truck from Carvana. The sequence of events is as follows: (1) After my truck was involved in an accident in December 2021, I began the process of replacing it through Carvana. I started the purchase process for a 2009 Toyota Tacoma on January 2, 2022 and was promised a delivery date of January 15. (2) After being notified of a delay in delivery on January 13, and a revised delivery date of January 29, I called to complain, after which I was promised a $350 check in compensation, which was confirmed in an email indicating the check would be sent a month after delivery. (3) a few days before the new delivery date, I was informed of another delay in delivery. I called again, and was promised additional compensation of $590 which would be paid after the 7 day Money Back Guarantee period (again, confirmed in an email).
(4) When the purchased vehicle delivery was delayed again, I cancelled the purchase, and bought a different Tacoma (2013) from Carvana on January 29. This vehicle was delivered on time. There are no issues with the vehicle itself. (5) After not receiving the promised $940 in compensation for the delay, I called in June to find out about it, and was told it was being processed. (6) After still not receiving the compensation I contacted Carvana by text message and called them as well, on September 19. I was told that the promised compensation could not be paid because it was associated with the 2009 Tacoma that I ended up not buying because of the delay. I was not informed before January 29 that if I canceled the planned purchase of the 2009 Tacoma that I would no longer be eligible for the compensation promised. I was never contacted about the payment being declined. Since the promised compensation was for delay of delivery of a vehicle purchased from Carvana, I believe I am still entitled to the compensation.

There was a small crack in the front windshield that had been repaired, but still visible, and it wasn't listed in the list of imperfections with all the other dings on the website. If I had known that the car had a crack in the front windshield and the insurance I bought from Carvana wouldn't cover it, and it was going to cost me over $1000 to repair because of calibration, etc. I would have bought a different car. I could have returned it, but the other cars that I looked that were comparable were out of my price range.

Buying a car from Carvana could hardly be any simpler. The purchase, financing, and transportation processes were pleasantly smooth. I recommend, however, finding out exactly what is covered in the 150-point inspection. Our RAV4 arrived with two new tires on back. Am unsure how the two front tires met the 5/32" minimum tread. We purchased two new tires the following week at a cost of almost $300. We had only one key for our only vehicle. We've had one on order from the dealer for about two months. It still isn't in. The cost is $324 and change. (That figure is accurate. Those "touch" fobs with the key to use in case the fob battery runs down are terribly expensive to purchase and have programmed. The air filter obviously had been changed. Unfortunately, when the dealership changed the filter, they broke the closure of the air filter box and jerry-rigged it to close. I can find that box online for about $65. I will replace it soon.
The car manual was missing. Cost us a little about $70 to replace, which we did. But things get worse. When the car was delivered, there had been showers in the area, so I wasn't surprised that the brakes squeaked a little. We have driven it 2,362. The squeak has progressively gotten worse and the throbbing in the brake pedal seems to indicate a problem with rotor(s). The brakes let out a groan when I put it in park and take my foot off the brake. Carvana dealer warranty shows that braking is covered for 100 days or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first. We are closing in on both the 100 days and the 3,000 miles. Another piece of paperwork in my big Carvana envelope says that brakes are not covered. I must call Carvana to find out which piece of information is correct. I think I would like the RAV4 better if there hadn't been so many added costs in fixing or replacing parts that I feel should have been done before we purchased it.

In the end, and maybe the only thing that actually matters, is that I love my car and feel pricing was fair. I'm happy with the end result. But, the process was ridiculous. Carvana will repeat how easy and seamless their experience is. Yet because of the set up you never connect with the same customer service rep twice and therefore it's a hectic experience.
First there were hiccups with financing. Not my approval, but clarity from Carvana. I initially said I'd do a downpayment, but when they needed to check with my bank I thought it would be easier if I just agreed to finance the whole thing. Then I decided I should just pay cash. I was told by one rep that I need to upload the cashiers check. Done. Then I was told it wasn't approved because I didn't sign the check. What? Why would I sign the cashiers check.
After that phone call I was told they needed approval from the bank that I had the money for that check. But that's why cashiers checks exist! The bank would never have given me the check if we didn't have the funds available. That process took a few hours of phone time to iron out because it was clear my payment was acceptable.
Also, my original delivery was delayed because they discovered on the day of my delivery that my brakes needed repair. I'm grateful for the discovery, but miffed as to why they discovered it on delivery day and not in the 7 day window between my order and delivery. Because of this delay I had to cancel a vacation for my kid and his friends because I didn't have transportation to drive them as expected. After I finally received my car I was sent an email stating I needed immediate service and vehicle diagnostics for an issue found at delivery. This was news to me. Again I was on the phone with Carvana for a long time trying to get to the bottom of it.
What Carvana couldn't tell me was: 1) What was flagged as an issue? 2)Why my car was delivered with a known defect. Since I couldn't get an answer out of anyone I had to take a day to get my car into the shop for a diagnostic review. The shop found ZERO issues. Good news, I have a great car. Bad news, I took a lot of time dealing with issues that didn't exists or shouldn't have been so time consuming. Next car I'm buying direct from a dealer so I can see a human face to face and get the real story throughout the process.

Hello, Me experience might be unique because it leaves a lot to desired. It started with Carvana cancelling the delivery appointment less than 12 hrs before the agreed up delivery time even their fine print states that the customer has give at least 24hr. After that they kept pushing a date even I told them that that date not work for me. When the truck finally got delivered it had an issue with wireless charger and while they were good pointing out smaller scratches bigger stuff was overlooked. After one day the engine check light came on. They send me to a place that does not deal with stuff like the broken wireless charger so I had to pick it up again and bring it to a Chevy dealer who was 2 weeks out.
They count the whole first day as part of their 7 day free, delivery costs not included, even like in my case it was delivered after 5pm. Very hard to get hold of someone to really help after the vehicle was delivered. I now realized that the key does not work to lock or unlock the door and it looks like the lock was at least tampered with. Which is my fault since I should have checked the truck more. But after waiting for about 1 1/2 month I just wanted to get it done. Now I am sitting here with a truck that has a broken wireless charger, engine check light on and according to Autozone the fuel tank sensor needs replacing and a lock that does not work with a key. If their insurance company SilverRock acts like Carvana I have low hopes that things get resolved.
My experience does not reflect what they are portraying to be disregarding if the insurance company comes through or not. The reason why I wrote the review before the insurance company lets me know what they are covering is that Carvana to me seems to be done with me. I will update this review with my findings with SilverRock. Thank you. Jan

The cleaning of the vehicle was rushed, with buffing compound still on the vehicle. The windshield was dirty, I had to clean it myself. I also noticed the fuel tank was not full. Customer service rep told me he would take care of it, and noted it on his tablet. He took photos. He told me I had 7 days to return the vehicle if I didn't like it. While driving the vehicle around town, the battery died on me. I discovered loose connections on the battery. I had to purchase a jump start pack to start the vehicle back up. The vehicle also had a check engine light which was recently deleted. Historical Code. GM enhanced code. P0171 P0174 Vehicle running lean.

Carvana missed 3 delivery dates because it failed their inspection. Then when I received it, my mechanic said he wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole, when I returned it they put it right back on the market within 2 days. They didn't disclose the entire details of the car, the entire exhaust was redone and it was not mentioned in their listing. It was as loud as an airplane and there was rust on the bottom of the car. I could smell exhaust that leaked into the car giving me a headache after driving for a few minutes. It rattled when in reverse and in low gears. How could Carvana pass a car and deliver it in this condition? When they picked up my car, they sent a driver who didn't drive stick so I had to drive a Mustang onto the back of a flatbed truck at a 60 degree incline.
The cherry on top was when I returned my car. The delivery for this car was delayed 3 times and spanned 3 weeks. When I finally received my car I had 7 days to sample it and decide on the return and we were leaving for vacation on that 7th day. I decided after 2 days to return it and Carvana dragged their feet on getting a driver out to my house and ended up coming just 2 days before vacation. In the process I had baseball practice for my son and loaded up the trunk with ALL of our baseball equipment. In the process of the rushed return, I left ALL of the baseball equipment in the trunk and didn't realize it was there since we were on vacation for 2 weeks. When I discovered the mistake, it was 4 weeks later and not ONE person at Carvana thought it appropriate to call me that they found over $1000 worth of baseball gear in the trunk.
My son was devastated to lose literally everything and all Carvana had to say was, "It is our policy to throw away anything we find in the car." WHAT?! Yes this was my mistake. But ultimately you need to use some common sense. If someone leave a CD, a bathing suit, some paperwork - fine toss it. But when there is a bucket of baseball, a baseball bag with two bats, batting helmet, two gloves, a batting net and two other gloves and bats, I would think that would warrant a phone call. Carvana has been the WORST since day 1 and I would not recommend my worst enemy to use them. Avoid at all costs. Their website is shiny and well done, but the cars they sell are NOT inspected appropriately and clearly do not have any interest in going above and beyond for their customers.

I bought a used car from Carvana at a new car price since there were no new ones available. I expected that at that price it would at least be in excellent condition and trusted the 150 point inspection. However, upon taking it in for a routine oil change the mechanic discovered it has been leaking oil for much longer than I have had it and said they absolutely should have seen and fixed that. Now I have to pay over $3000 to repair it myself and they will take no accountability. If I had known they were no more trustworthy than the stereotypical shady used car dealers, I never would have paid their premium price.

After car purchase, they promised to deliver, then said could not get the car there in the promised time so we agreed to drive an hour to another location for discount, which was not received. When car was not as promised, they refused to pick up so again had to drive to another city for transfer.

Exceptional would be the single word to describe my personal experience with Carvana. From the moment that I submitted my vehicle for purchase to the signing of the check. Everything was extremely quick and efficient. The price that they provided was very fair. The individual who came to my home to pick up the vehicle was just as efficient and pleasant. I can't say enough about how easy it was. Within 10-15 minutes, the documents were signed and the vehicle was loaded on a truck. I had initially thought it would be easier to go to the Carvana location to sell the car, but having someone come right to your door is an excellent way to do business. If you're selling, it is at least worth your time to find out what Carvana will offer. BTW - Carvana's offer was much better than the stealership!

I was impressed with the way Carvana worked until a significant problem occurred that colored the experience: I specifically searched for a car with two keys, opting for a more expensive one than I would have gone with otherwise because it was advertised -- falsely, as it turned out -- as having two keys. When the car was delivered, only one key came with it. I was told another would arrive within two weeks. That wasn't ideal, but it seemed a mere inconvenience. Now I've had the car for over a month.
A car key technician has contacted me multiple time with revised dates for car key delivery; at one point, she came to create a key, and I spent half an hour of my time with her, only to witness the attempt to make the key fail. When I called Carvana to find out what they could do to help rectify the situation, I was told I have no options other than to wait indefinitely for the key or to go to a car dealership (when the whole point of using Carvana was to avoid going to a car dealership). From my perspective, again, the car was falsely advertised as having two keys available. My time has been wasted, and Carvana's response has been inadequate and irresponsible.

I've always purchased vehicles in brick and mortar stores. Got tired of all the bait and switch dishonesty of shady sales people. I've witnessed people paying as much as 40% over sticker with double talk and underhanded tricks from salespeople in the little cubicles. I purchased my first car from Carvana in 2016. Was a bit hesitant buying a car off the internet site unseen except a few photos and description. Complete transaction from filling out online forms to taking delivery was 12 days. 2nd day I went to start the car it was dead. Found out to be a bad battery. Contacted Carvana through my account advising them of the situation. I took it on myself to go against their policy and purchase a battery on my own to get the car going. I explained what I did. They promptly refunded me the cost of the battery. Since then I have purchased another truck and sold them 2 vehicles. Same experience as first. Yes I would buy from Carvana vs dealing with billybobs in bad suits brick and mortar stores.

This was the worst purchasing experience of my life. Never once was I contacted by a member of their staff even after several promises of a call. The car was delivered with a faulty air conditioner, broken satellite antenna, rear wiper blade barely hanging on, broken utility flashlight, and the windshield wipers don't work on intermittent. All these issues were undisclosed - Plus the lump of goo on the steering wheel. The actual disclosed damage was barely noticeable. Love to share photos on this site. Good thing the warranty company seems to be solid because my car will have been in the shop 3 times after receiving it. Buy from a dealer where you can actually see the car - avoid this company at all costs unless you enjoy headaches and nightmares.

I purchased a 2015 Ford Fiesta ST with very low mileage, was very impressed with how streamlined the process was. Didn't have to speak to a single person (anxiety inducing, to some degree) and my car arrived within 2 weeks of purchase just as I was promised. The car was clean and as advertised, however the "100 point" inspection they do, either does not exist, or is carried out by mechanics who are inexperienced, rushed, or both. Front wheel bolts were LOOSE - wildly dangerous. Engine cover was soaked in oil and the oil level was overfull, and the quick detail they did to shine the car up was horrid, interior was lathered in far too much UV protectant and the exterior seemed to have just been quickly spray waxed.
Luckily, I am a mechanic myself, so I had the car up on a lift and remedied the issue and looked over the car before my first drive. Their techs did a tire rotation (which it didn't need) before it was delivered and forgot to torque the front wheels - a lawsuit waiting to happen. Also, not listed anywhere in the ad or on the carfax, the car arrived with lowering springs installed, which personally I love, but the average consumer may have been stuck with a ride quality too jarring for the road, and been put in a position to have a shop install the factory spring set up - annoying after paying top dollar for the car.
All in all, I think you get what you deserve for buying a car online with only a CarFax and their ** 100 point inspection. I got very lucky to find in the glovebox the previous owners service records, and thanks to that previous owners diligence for keeping records, I am confident I bought a well maintained and mechanically sound car. If you are not familiar with what to look for, and would need to lean on auto shops to look over the car once it arrives, the gamble of buying a car online could quickly turn into a customer service nightmare.
One thing to note, I have yet to need to reach out to their customer service, but I did notice the driver who delivered the car blocked my number as soon as he pulled away. I know this because I had a quick question about the reverse lock out on the manual transmission, so I rang him about 10 minutes after the car was delivered, and suddenly was unable to get through, not a very cozy feeling. As for the cars paperwork (title and reg) which seems to be a focal point of many negative reviews, I seem to have gotten lucky being that I'm in NY and the title is required to have it registered, my registration and plate transfer was completed before I even got the car, and I'm set to have the title within 30 days.
To sum it up, buying with Carvana is convivence over confidence, and for a purchase as large as your next car, that may not be alluring to most average consumers. Unless you cant find the exact car you want locally, I would try other avenues before deciding to go with Carvana. Overall I am satisfied with the product I received, but I will not be taking this gamble again.

I completed the online questionnaire regarding my vehicle and was contacted the same day by a Carvana representative. 3 days later a representative came to my home to complete the transaction. The rep checked out the vehicle, had me sign some forms to transfer title and vehicle, gave me the check and that was it. The representative was courteous, professional and knowledgeable (not to mention he was able to load my car on the Carvana trailer quickly and easily). The entire process took less than 20 minutes. I purchased a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse on August 8th, 2022. On August 10th, 2022, I alerted Carvana that I did not want to keep the vehicle and would prefer to swap it. This vehicle had a shake at 55 mph +, so bad that my children’s faces would shake in the back seat when we would get up to speed. The latches inside the interior trunk were broken. The fuse panel latches were broken. The air vents in the second and third rows were broken. The defrost vent/ fan was always on regardless of the settings. The back pockets of the driver and passenger seats were torn. There was staining on all of the third row seats.
There were skittles and other candies inside of the back seats causing sticky residue that was unable to be cleaned without a detailer. There were sunflower seeds on the floor, inside the center counsel, gear shift crease, and cup holders. There was a dent with red paint on the rear driver-side door. There were two chips in the glass of both passenger winder and the rear passenger window. I was granted a swap according to Carvana's seven-day moneyback guarantee.
On August 17th, 2022 my replacement vehicle which was a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse arrived. Upon the vehicle arriving, the driver and I noticed that there was a panel missing on the back bumper that is designed to cover the hitch. I could also visibly see that there was rust on all of the screws inside the wheel wells, along the exhaust pipes, and underneath the vehicle. On August 18th, 2022, I took the vehicle to a local mechanic shop to have it evaluated. The mechanic stated they did not recommend keeping the vehicle due to the severity of embedded rust on the frame. They also notated that the vehicle needed brakes and rotors on all four wheels.
I alerted Carvana on August 19th, 2022, and on August 23rd, 2022 I was granted the third and final vehicle swap option. I did notify Carvana as well as upload the mechanic's statement, that the mechanic had stated he would not recommend keeping this vehicle due to the embedded rust in the frame and that the brakes could fail at any given time due to the shape they were in when I purchased a vehicle. Carvana attempted to schedule me for the soonest available swap, which was originally scheduled for August 27th, 2022. On August 25th, 2022, I received a text notification that my vehicle swap had to be postponed until September 2nd, 2022, which was further than a week away from my request date. I notified Carvana that this was the only vehicle I had since it had been nearly a month since I purchased my first vehicle with them, and had sold my old vehicle.
They notated it on my account and allowed for additional miles since the swap was taking additional time. I received a notice on August 30th, 2022 that my car swap would be pushed back to September 9th, 2022 due to delays. I called Carvana several times, which are all documented, stating that I didn’t feel my family was safe in this vehicle and asking that we speed up the swap. I offered to drive to the vending machine, whatever it took to swap the vehicle quicker. Carvana's advice was to find a different vehicle that was available for an earlier swap. Every day I searched for a 2018 or newer Chevrolet Traverse, AWD, Black, with less than 42,000 miles on it and under $37,000. Which was comparable to the vehicle I was swapping into. I was unsuccessful.
On September 4th, 2022, I who is currently 8 months pregnant, and my family, which includes a 5 and 7-year-old, were involved in rear end collision after the brakes failed on the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse that I was waiting to swap out of for 17 days. I immediately called Carvana to discuss the options. Their first representative told me there were no options, the vehicle was involved in a collision. I had to keep the vehicle and work through insurance on repairs. I asked to speak with a manager. On Tuesday, September 6th, 2022, I spoke to an Executive Resolutions Team Member named Cal. Cal made it very clear that if I was working with an attorney, he would not be able to speak with me further. Our conversation revolved around the legality of the issues, although he made it clear he was not part of the legal team nor did he have any insight on the legal action.
I made it clear that the front-end damage was nothing more than cosmetic, and I would like to return the vehicle. My insurance company who realize the severity of the situation even offered to fix the vehicle under the deductible, so that it could be returned and I could cease doing business with Carvana. My insurance company also notified me of multiple public claims, lawsuits and even lawsuits being held by Carvana's investors for similar issues. Cal made it abundantly clear that I would not be returning the vehicle by any means necessary. Because the car was in an accident, even though I had to wait 23 days for a new one, the seven-day money-back guarantee and return policy was voided.
I asked numerous times to speak to a manager of the Executive Resolution Team, and was refused. I asked numerous times to be transferred over to someone in the Legal Department, since there were multiple issues with this case. I was refused. When I asked for the Legal Department's information, Cal provided me with an address of 1930 W Rio Salado Pkwy Tempe, AZ 85281. When I asked for a phone number I was denied.
On September 7th, 2022 I reached out to Silver Rock, Carvana's partner in warranty and vehicle repairs, to discuss the repairs on the vehicle that were already diagnosed and entered on August 19th, 2022, more than two weeks before the accident on September 4th, 2022. These repairs included faulty brakes and rotors on all four wheels and frame rust that was so embedded the mechanic made specific notes to return the vehicle. Silver Rock informed me that there was no current contract on the 2018 Chevy Traverse vehicle I was driving. The contract had been deleted the moment I signed new documents for my replacement vehicle, on August 23rd, 2022. They were unable to have my vehicle diagnosed for repairs because I did not own the vehicle.
The representative did send me a list of local mechanics to speak with about the issue and to schedule the diagnostic while we waited for new contracts to be submitted by Carvana. I spoke to all three mechanic shops, none were able to help with the embedded rust in the frame of the vehicle. I re-contacted Silver Rock to explain the situation. They stated on a recorded line, that it is illegal for Carvana to sell a vehicle with embedded rest of the frame without notifying the buyer, which of course was not done. They also stated that embedded rust is not covered under Carvana’s limited warranty or Silver Rocks warranty.
The next day, September 8th, 2022, I contacted Carvana again asking to speak with a manager or a leadership position. I was transferred, yet again to Cal, who informed me that there was absolutely nothing that they could do until the new contract was in place. And then, I would still need to go through Silve Rock for any repairs that were diagnosed before the accident. I asked numerous times on a recorded conversation, to please speak with someone in management, legal or administrative. Cal refused my request and said the only person out of Carvana that I could speak with, was him. He insisted that there was absolutely no resolution to my case since I wanted the vehicle repaired after an accident. I explained to him numerous times that I did not want them to repair the cosmetic damage to the front end, which was a tilted-up hood. I wanted the embedded rest on the frame of my car fixed since they were forcing me to keep it.
After nearly 30 minutes of conversation, Cal told me there was absolutely no resolution and that either I or an attorney that I hire, needed to reach out to the legal team via United States post office mail. He repeated then numerous times there was not a phone number for me to contact the legal team at and the legal team would not be contacting me. He made it very clear on our recorded conversation, that anytime I tried to speak with someone else, his team members would route the call to me. He stated the only thing I could do, was wait for the "rebuilt" contract and then reach out to Silver Rock. When I insisted, I already spoke to Silver Rock and they routed me back to Carvana, he said there was absolutely nothing for Carvana to do. They were no longer responsible for the vehicle.
At this time on September 8th, 2022, I have no contracts linking me to the 2018 Chevy Traverse. Since I do not technically or legally own this vehicle, I have no way of insurance paying to repair the cosmetic damage caused by the accident. And because I have no contracts linking me to this vehicle, Silver Rock warranty is not able to complete a diagnostic or approval for any repairs such as the embedded rust on the frame of the car or the faulty brake system that was identified 8/18/2022.
I currently have a $37,000 vehicle sitting in my front yard unable to use, that I have no legal right to, and absolutely no way of getting any type of help with. There is only Cal… at Carvana who could help me, and he has stated there is no help. He made it clear on numerous recorded phone conversations that I have no rights and I will not be heard by anyone other than himself until I hire an attorney to write to Carvana's Legal team.

Did all the financing through them completely unassisted online. Fair and easy to understand: The higher down payment, the lower monthly payments and interest rate. As they were processing the loan, OMG, a white model became available. They gave me the option to cancel the previous deal and start a new one instantly with no questions or hassle. How good is that? They even deliver to your door. But I chose to pick mine up a couple days sooner. I went to their "car vending machine" location. From distance, I could see my beautiful car at the top of a glass tower among other cars.
Signed the paperwork and my car was rolled out like a soda can from a machine. A totally magnificent, flawless, spotless vehicle. They even sanitized it. 2016 car in 2022 condition. A Car-fax report on my car was included. Which showed my car had been previously been only used by Cadillac dealers. Probably as demo and loaner. I could not be happier with my deal. Obtaining the quote, scheduling a drop off was easy. Day before drop off I received a text saying drop off moved forward a week. Problem: I just sold my home and I'm leaving town! Solution: Found the right advocate (Tyler) who told me if you select direct deposit versus hard check it can be more flexible. Do a virtual visual inspection (by smart phone), car purchase approved instantly, and they pick up the car! So the visual inspection is scheduled (Good news). I received two documents to sign but didn't get it done because I had questions (they use a virtual notary).
Problem: My bad---because the visual inspection was cancelled because I didn't have the documents signed an notarized beforehand. Solution: Called Mike who rescheduled the next day, who said "Get the docs signed!" We did the visual inspection, praying my connection held during the entire process. The car was purchased, money deposited and the car picked up the next day! (At my neighbor's house). All of this could have been avoided if I had chosen direct deposit at the outset. I bought a 2018 Tesla Model 3. Here were the issues I had.
1) Delivery was a few hours late - it was obvious they only started detailing the car that morning. I had ordered about seven days in advance.
2) Car had cracked rear glass - but oh, they assured me their warranty would take care of it. That has been an ordeal as they referred me to Safelite (who gave vague feedback they didn't have the equipment in stock). Then they said go wherever I want - no one wants to work with third-party warranty (which is Silver Rock). Took me hours to finally get a someone to repair, but I will have to submit warranty myself. From experience with another car with Carvana, it can take months to get reimbursed. We will see on this one.
3) They sold me the car as a Texas resident, but put Arizona temporary tags on it.
4) It took 148 days to get my Texas tags, which is 88 days past their 60-day deadline.
5) I had to threaten to file complaint with the state (in this case Arizona was address given by Carvana) before a real person took my case and actually looked into the delay. I'm pretty sure that was illegal as the sale was in Texas.
6) This was after dealing with long hold times and chat bots - I could only get an "advocate" by text, not voice.
7) Every communication they sent had errors (like telling me I could apply for an extension on my temporary tags after 90 days, not true in Texas, or telling me my plates were sent by USPS when they were sent by FedEx, or by referring me to their website which had no additional information).
8) Ultimately, they said they sent my paperwork to a third-party to process. I don't think Carvana really follows up on this. They just wash their hands of it until you complain. Why not, it is free for them to waste your time.
Basically, when Carvana works, it works well and people like it. But if you have problems, you'll be in for the run-around and may be in situation where you cannot legally drive your car. You won't be able to get a live person on the phone and you'll get automated apologies and incorrect information. So, basically, even worse experience than you would expect from the more conventional "used car salesman." I ultimately did file a complaint in Arizona. Carvana has been shut down in one or more states for failure to keep up on paperwork.

It took some dialogue to convince my spouse to try Carvana, but after lots of research and a few bad experiences at local used car dealerships, we decided to try it. We were not disappointed! The online purchasing was easy, they walked us through all the steps to make sure our insurance and paperwork was in order, and the car was delivered to our door by a friendly employee - with the plates on it! The vehicle actually looked better in person than on the website! We had done a lot of looking around our area to know what a good list price was for the vehicle we wanted. We knew that because of Carvana's willingness to get plates, registration and financing the initial cost on Carvana may be a bit more than a personal seller nearby, but that it would be worth it. It was!
We took the vehicle to our mechanic within the 7-day trial period and everything checked out. We drove it 200 miles in various settings and the car performed well. In April of 2022, I purchased a beautiful 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid for our son. No issues at all. None. That's why, when my husband needed to replace his car, we came back to Carvana. Husband was looking at Honda Insights. Found a 2021 with fewer than 8K miles on it. Well, okay, let's get that one. I already knew that we needed to get all our documents ready, so I had them all scanned and ready to upload. However, I needed a third party loan on this one whereas I did not on the Ford Fusion. That one we purchased cash outright.
Well, some of the issues were on the end of my credit union sitting on paperwork. That's not Carvana's fault. What IS Carvana's fault is their inability to discern what bank account they're going to pull your funds from. My credit union assigns each member a main number. All other accounts under that "parent" account have different suffixes. So if your parent account is "123456," you may have a savings account with a suffix of "-01" and a checking with "-02" and a money market with "-50" and so on and so forth.
I have five accounts under my parent account. There was zero issue when Carvana pulled the funds for my son's car. However, when it was time to pay the down payment for the Honda Insight, someone at Carvana pulled funds from the FOURTH account down and one that I did not authorize them to use, resulting in an "insufficient funds" charge because - SURPRISE - that account was not supposed to be touched. So when I saw that error and asked them to please pull from the account that DID have the down payment in it for the Insight, they told me they couldn't do that. Yes, that's right. They couldn't do that.
What did that mean? It meant that because of THEIR MISTAKE, I had to go down to my credit union and either initiate a wire transfer (at my expense) or a cashier's check and then overnight it (at my expense) to them. To correct WHOSE mistake? Not mine. I had to jump through so many more absolutely unnecessary and stressful hoops to correct something that could have been fixed if they could simply code their system better. Look, we already had confirmed on a three-way phone call that the funds were there. So what's the point? They know that the funds are there, and yet, I'm the one having to go through all this because someone decided to just randomly select an account?
I spoke with QUITE a few people about this and heard from every single one that no, once a transaction has been flagged for insufficient funds, their system cannot initiate another transaction. Well, I got the cashier's check and did NOT overnight it, but for my own sanity, I sent it with the green tracking thing from USPS at the cost of about $5. That way, I could at least give them a tracking number, I could track it, and I could guarantee that yes, it got to Arizona.Look, the car delivery system? Couldn't ask for a nicer way for this to work. Both of the men who delivered our cars from the hub in Davie were super chill, really cool, went over everything with us.
If you have all your paperwork ready at the time you click "buy," you make your end of things way easier (title, license, etc.). Honestly, if this had been my first experience with Carvana, there would not have been a second one.

I had to drive my car to the pick point about 200 miles away, which would have been 300 miles away if a Carvana staff person did not help me with a closer pick-up location. Joshua and Lucas, the pickup people, field advocate for Carvana were super nice, easy going and helpful. I almost cried when Joshua drove my car away with Carvana dealer plates on it, but I knew it was in good hands and on to more adventures with Carvana. While deciding on a vehicle to purchase through Carvana, the delivery date was one of a few deciding factors. Once the purchase was made Carvana kept changing the delivery date and not providing me a clear reason why. They also kept preselecting times for the delivery that no longer worked with my schedule. Once the vehicle arrived, about a week late, it was not detailed at all - or an extremely rushed job if that. There was tons of pet hair on numerous seats, drip marks on almost all interior surfaces, and in some cases even a wet oily substance dripping down interior surfaces.
The vehicle was also missing it's spare tire - something that was listed on the third row of amenities included with the vehicle on the sale page. Along with the missing spare was the missing spare tire housing, and winch. The vehicle was also missing the car jack and tire iron - both necessary for lowering the spare tire housing and installing the spare tire. Carvana told me they include a "spare tire kit" in vehicles that are missing spare tires but that was also not present - and regardless, the sale page clearly stated a spare - not a "spare tire kit".
They offered to issue me a $100 check for the matter and I am still 2 months later waiting for that check. The vehicle they sold me also has a mold/mildew smell coming from the vents once the "new car smell" wore off in a few days. There were many small dings and damages on the vehicle that were not noted on the sale page. They offered to have them repaired but sent me to a severely incompetent repair facility. The repair shop had my vehicle for nearly a week. They were to change the oil since Carvana failed to have it change (according to the car fax and lack of window sticker), instal a spare tire, and repair some damaged parts of the dashboard not noted on the sale page. After nearly a week all they did was change the oil.
The owner of the shop called me and told me the oil was changed and the spare was installed. I had to pick it up after hours and when I got there the spare was not installed. Carvana has done nothing but give me the run around with this vehicle. The quality control is non existent. NEVER buy a car from them. Carvana are liars and thieves!

Two days later, when I had not been contacted by anyone I went back onto the site to see if there was anything else required. To my surprise, the deal had dissapeared, as if it never happened! I ran the same exact deal again and the amount that was returned to me was almost $6,000 less than the original offer. I am glad that I took screen-shots of the original deal every step of the way. The car buying process was smooth and a relatively good experience. However, when the car was delivered, the low tire pressure warning light was on. The delivery driver assured me that it would turn off soon because he just filled the tires. However, many drives later, it was still on. When I reported my concern, Carvana directed me to the 100-day warranty. But I find that unacceptable as the car was delivered to me that way. My reasoning for choosing Carvana in the first place was my lack of time to shop at dealerships. And now I’ve got to take time off work to go get this fixed, when it shouldn’t have been my responsibility to begin with??? And while I did have seven days to return the vehicle, I simply didn’t have the time to call them up and argue over the matter. I do like the car, but would NEVER have finalized the sale if I’d known about this defect. The least they could do is knock a few hundred dollars off the purchase price.

I am so very disappointed. I had a trade-in lined up, and had processed a sale. I provided all documentation including insurance and the 10-day sale notice. I resigned the paperwork. I scheduled delivery for this coming Saturday. I checked my account tonight, and the car was no longer listed as a sale on my account. I had no emails or phone calls from Carvana. I called the company who couldn’t figure out what happened as there was no reason in their system explaining what happened. The rep figured it out on their own that because my trade-in was 800 more than the car I wanted, the system automatically cancelled the sale WITH NO NOTIFICATION.
I spoke to 2 other people who admitted this was not a good situation and apologized, but there was nothing they could do. They now want me to sell the car, wait for the payment to clear, and purchase the new car. Not only will I lose my tax credit, but I will be without a vehicle for 3 days. I am beyond disappointed. I recommend that Carvana be avoided like the plague, and will spread the word to everyone I know who is looking for a car. Buy local and save yourself a headache.

Carvana uses deceptive advertising to lure buyers. I'm one of the suckers they have in mind. I slightly overpaid for a used Sonata, which is notorious for lousy paint jobs. The car was delivered on a rainy, overcast day, which as the driver pointed out, made it difficult to check out the body. I listed some obvious flaws on the claim, but when I took the car to a body shop for an estimate, the person pointed out a few that I had missed. (I am 71 years old and live alone.) Since the other defects weren't submitted within seven days, I was out of luck, I was told.
My complaint is that very few of these flaws were listed in the original description. In other words, Carvana puts the onus on the buyer to find every one of them. The responsibility should be on the seller to point out any and all obvious problems, but by glossing over problems, their products appear to be much better than they really are, which attracts more potential buyers. I won't buy from these deceitful people again. Neither will my friends or family, and I hope yours don't, either. Footnote: According to the aforementioned person, very few body shops will work with Carvana because it doesn't want the hassles.

Used the Carvana iPhone app to sell them my 2015 low-mileage Subaru BRZ. The app asked for the license plate and was able to look up all the details. Asked a few basic questions on vehicle condition and a few photos that could be done with my phone on the spot (including pictures of my driver's license and title). Came back within minutes with a solid and attractive quote. I shopped around and found no one even close. Committed to the sale and chose to drop it off at one of their drop-off locations (which I understand is a new thing) which had appointment slots available the following day. I could have optionally, for a $75 fee, had Carvana come collect the car.
Brought the car in, turned over the keys, title and lien release, signed some papers for contract of sale, flood condition, entitlement to the vehicle, and the odometer form. Carvana agent handed me the check for the exact quoted amount (no sleazy dealer 'adjustments') along with a copy of the sale contract. He then removed the plates and window registration sticker - handing me the plates. He asked that I double check the trunk, glovebox and seating area to avoid leaving anything behind. I had already removed the registration and insurance cards from the glovebox. He walked around the car to photograph it along with the dash w/ the odometer reading. He added a round 'retail' Carvana sticker to the windshield and I was done and on my way to the bank to deposit the check. Friendly agent; friendly and fast process.
Only two things keeping this from five stars:
1. The appointment date/time in the Carvana app indicated there would be a shuttle available to get me back home (I think it was w/in 50 miles). However, this was news to the Carvana agent. Texted my spouse and she came out to collect me (20 min drive).2. Apparently, being able to drop off the vehicle is very new and they weren't really prepared for customers on-site at this location. No place to sit; a lot of noise and wind being right next to a busy road and doing paperwork on the hood of the car. Would have been awful if it was winter or raining. They did invite me into their offices to wait in their break room for my ride to arrive.
Would DEFINITELY go to Carvana for a quality quote next time.

The last time I purchased a car from a brick-and-mortar dealership, I had to spend my whole day getting the runaround and dealing with fuzzy, shifting numbers while the salesman wore me down-- don't even get me started on the inevitable shakedown from the finance office. I swore back then that the next time I needed a vehicle, I'd find a dealership that'd let me complete the purchase process online. I'd heard of Carvana, but didn't give them any serious consideration until I found THE car I wanted on the Carvana website.
I read about Carvana's 7-day return guarantee and the 100-day warranty. I decided I had nothing to lose by trying it at least once.
Scheduling the delivery was a breeze, although it would take a couple of weeks to have the car transported from the opposite side of the USA; unlike buying from an in-person dealership where you drive it right off the lot. That felt like a fair tradeoff because I didn't have to spend an entire day (stretching into an eternity) negotiating with salesmen and finance managers. The delivery charge was shown right on the Carvana vehicle page-- no hidden numbers or surprises there.
When my car arrived, there were a few things that worried me which were not mentioned in the ad or flagged by the Carvana pre-sale inspections. It had an oil leak, scratches on the front bumper, and rotted/cracked tires. I felt my heart drop because I'd paid a fair price for a car in excellent condition, and it arrived with some potentially serious issues. I was already feeling like I'd made a huge mistake.
Just about that time, I logged back into my Carvana account and it was like they'd read my mind! My new-purchase dashboard popped up and Carvana prompted me to let them know right away about any and all concerns. I didn't need to chase them down to hold them accountable-- they initiated contact with me to make sure everything was in the condition I expected. I went over the car with a fine-tooth comb and my phone camera, then made an exhaustive list of any flaws and concerns. Aside from the oil leak, bad tires and bumper scratches, the rest of the car was great. The oil leak could've been something serious, or it could've been just a bad gasket seal. I wouldn't know until a mechanic looked at it.
TIP: try to schedule your car delivery for a Sunday or Monday, so that the area mechanics are open and you can get your car scheduled for diagnostics before the 7-day return period is up! The repair authorizations can take Silver Rock 24-48 hours, so bear that in mind and let your mechanic know about the time constraint involved. You just need to have all the info from the mechanic regarding what's needed so that you CAN send back the car if it turns out that it has showstopper-type issues that can't be repaired. You'll want the reassurance that any issues the mechanic finds will be covered for repair before you make the decision to keep the vehicle. They don't need to actually FIX the car within the 7-day probation period, they just need to acknowledge the issues and authorize the repairs before the period expires.
Carvana sent me their list of Silver Rock authorized mechanics in the area (all top-rated, reputable mechanics), and my local VW dealer was on there. I made an appointment with the dealership's service department, then took in my Beetle. (Silver Rock covers the $175 diagnostic fee for the first hour, and if more time is needed, the mechanic just needs to call Silver Rock to get the authorization before moving ahead-- basically, everything was free for me.)
The service department representative took my list of concerns and looked at all of those issues-- then, THEY added some things that THEY wanted to handle while they had my Bug. The service department sent me the rundown of repairs needed by email (the car needed: a new gasket seal to fix the oil leak, new tires, replacement lug nut covers on a few tires, PLUS an alignment I didn't realize was off). It was really helpful for me that they communicated everything first by email because I'm partially deaf, although I never mentioned that to them. They also called me to answer any questions and to make sure they hadn't missed anything that worried me.
Here's where it gets good, though: after running through the repairs needed with me, the service department representative from the dealership called Silver Rock DIRECTLY to discuss what the car needed. Then, they coordinated with Silver Rock to get EVERYTHING covered under the warranty. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. I was expecting to fight tooth and nail to get the car restored to 100%, but I didn't have to do ANYTHING except make that initial list and leave my car with the mechanics. It didn't cost me a penny!
That's how the Silver Rock warranty works-- they have their authorized mechanics that they trust and listen to... and Silver Rock doesn't try to weasel out of repairing anything. They fixed it ALL. Every last thing was covered. My car is basically NEW again... it's a 2017 VW Beetle with very low miles and it zips around like a dream. VW doesn't even make Beetles anymore-- so to have one this perfect, it's amazing!
I would buy from Carvana again in a heartbeat. I was so nervous about this first purchase... it felt like a gamble until I'd been through the entire process and realized how EASY and fair it really is. The process doesn't feel at all like a gamble anymore. Now I know that anything that isn't noted on the vehicle page WILL be fixed, and it's way easier-- I mean WAY, WAY easier-- than buying from a local dealer and negotiating with THEM to fix things they didn't mention. Carvana makes car-buying as low-stress as possible-- and did I mention that I have THE car I wanted (even though they're discontinued by VW), and it's super low-mileage, and everything on it is like-new? Anything that wasn't like-new when it arrived is DEFINITELY like-new now!
I guess the whole point of this review is to say this: check over the car's details on the Carvana listing page. Make notes about ALL of the flaws they mention there-- because anything above or beyond those flaws WILL be fixed by Carvana. They make the whole process painless, and they aren't trying to pull any "fast ones". I guess I've never actually seen any car dealer this transparent or fair... so I wasn't ready for them to be so amazing.

Updated on 9/5/2022: So I recently gave Carvana 2 stars, I said Sales easy, after sales terrible. Well it's gotten worse, Seems the 3rd party they use to handle registration misrepresented the mileage by double, so now my CarFax will show Odometer Tampering suspected, making the resale value substantially less. On top of that, Carvana doesn't want to know, and has entirely passed the buck.
Original review: So this is my first ever 'buy before you try' experience, I am in my late 40's and would normally never ever buy a car blind (without seeing it, touching it, driving it) but they had the one I wanted when no one else did in a price range I was willing to pay. The Purchasing phase was easy, well defined and there were no issues.
Issue 1 - I raised a question about the extended (SilverRock) warranty - as it's for an ICE car and I was buying an EV, No one could answer my questions and I was sent to SilverRock, who refused to answer my questions and said I should contact Carvana, who passed me back to SilverRock, who passed me back to Carvana - no one would step up and own the issue, I ended up declining the extended warranty.
Issue 2 - It takes a long time to get an advocate on chat or the phone - the auto bot will tell you the expected wait time is X minutes, trust me - quadruple it and add more, they are slow to get to the conversation and slow to answer follow up questions.
Issue 3 - I live a long way from the vending machine but I wanted to experience it as it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me (I won't be using Carvana again) so I chose vending machine over delivery, we arrived (62 miles) and the thing was broken, had I known, I would have saved my time and money and had them home deliver. However, the guy I dealt with was sympathetic, and very pleasant to deal with.
Issue 4 - No one could give me a straight answer on Speciality/Vanity Plate handling upfront and the online documentation is terrible, it's missing links to resources and additional information.
Issue 5 - 150 point check - that's the claim, carried out on all cars.... Perhaps they need a 152 point check as mine was missing the locking lug nut key and the wipers were degraded (which I discovered on the way home as a monsoon storm swept in and boy did I find out fast how bad the wipers were).
Issue 6 - To fix the above issues you must contact SilverRock, you must use SilverRock approved repairers or face a large deductible. My 2 issues were covered and I booked it into a Firestone auto center, but it took a day to get the information, a day to make the appointment the following day, so it took 3 days to get the car in the hands of a mechanic. Mechanic called me 20 minutes after dropping it off to tell me "main dealer only", so back to SilverRock, who told me off as the mechanic is supposed to inform them, not the customer, they had to verify, then approved for main dealer - another 3 day wait for an appointment, it took far too long to sort. All could have been avoided if the 150 point check was carried out entirely.
Bottom Line: In theory this is far better than the usual song and dance and despair of dealing with a brick and mortar dealership, the lies, the back 'n forth nonsense that happens, where Carvana Fails is the follow through and the lack of "attention to detail" - the poor online documentation (Example: Can I transfer vanity/speciality plates? Answer is a long winded "yes", but nothing else - doesn't say how or when), The lack of making sure the basics are right (wiper blades and Missing Locking Lug Nut Key!). If they missed these important items, what else was missed? I can't trust them, so I can't in good faith use them again nor endorse/recommend to my friends and family. Good Idea, poorly executed. Shame really.

I ordered a car that looked like a good deal. On the day before the car was to be delivered to my house, I received a notification that the delay was going to be delayed by 7 days. One of the reasons I ordered this car was that it would be delivered before we had family coming to town who would need a car. I asked what they would do about compensating me for this delay since now I would have to rent a car. The representative said that they were unable to offer any type of compensation “the first delay”. I still wanted the car, so I accepted the new delivery date and spent 300 bucks on a rental car.
This morning (the day the car was to be delivered) at about 2AM, I received another notification that the car was delayed, this time for about 3 weeks! So, remembering that there would be no compensation for the “first delay” I figured they might offer to provide a loaner car or compensate me for rental fees. But, no; the answer I received was, “At this moment, we will only be able to do our best to deliver the vehicle on the mentioned day. Once again, we are truly sorry for the trouble.” Since now I no longer trust this company, I canceled the order. Carvana does not seem interested in keeping customers once they order something; based on my experience they overpromise and underdeliver and don’t worry about the cost or inconvenience that places on their customers. Carvana beat everyone by $Thousands! I was skeptical and feared they would try to lower their offer at the time of final sale. I made an appointment for them to do a pickup. Their employee arrived with a car hauler on time, did a visual inspection, started the engine, and checked the odometer. He gave me a clipboard with papers to sign, I gave him the title and keys, and he handed me a check for $25,211. He put the truck on his hauler, locked it down and left. The entire process took 5 minutes. Need to sell a vehicle, CALL CARVANA!!!!

Carvana is not an easy company to work with. We did not want to link our bank account to them, so it took me more than six telephone calls totaling more than two hours to resolve that. However, when we went to pick up the car after driving 3.5 hours from home to save an additional $600 in delivery fees, there were major scratches (12+ inches long) on the rear quarter panel that were obviously fresh. Accidents happen, right? So, the "Advocate" told us that this was no problem, that Silver Rock, their warranty service department, would send someone out mobile to our daughter's location in college to fix the scratches.
Well, that was an outright lie. They have no mobile cosmetic repair. So, with three days before she left for college my 18 year old daughter was supposed to pick from a list of approved repair facilities, take the car there, wait, get an estimate and then Silver Rock had to approve the estimate several days later and then she had to take it back to them. The problem with that was none of their "approved service" companies did cosmetic repair. So, we were out of luck. We couldn't return the car because she had to leave for college in three days and so now we have a $15,000 car with major scratches down the side. The Advocate clearly lied to us in order to get us to take the car, when she knew we had drive 3.5 hours and couldn't return it. Do not do business with this company.

After submitting the required insurance info they required multiple times and having a custom proof of insurance written for them, the registration plates to the car have been lost in and they won't help me get a replacement. One star is generous.

I saved so much time using Carvana. The experience was mostly straightforward, and I found the customer service very helpful. The delivery was surprisingly fast. I will definitely consider using Carvana for my future car purchases.

Carvana was neither reliable or efficient. I ordered the car and followed every direction only to get a text saying I needed to do things I had already done multiple times. This all after they had my banking information. A very disappointed customer.

Carvana made a mistake on my title which randomly put another one of their customers on my title as a lien holder. It took more than 16 months to sort out and get a clean title. Carvana was absolutely unresponsive and uncooperative. Finally, I made a formal complaint to the California DMV. Only after a DMV investigator got involved did Carvana start working on the problem. Do not buy a car from these people. Horrible.

Smooth sailing up until you get the car. I picked my car up and it wasn't as clean as I normally expect dealers to prepare the car for owner pickup, but that wasn't the big thing. What bothered me was on my way back from Charlotte, the tire indicator identified the tire pressure wasn't correct. This is something critical, in my opinion, so I had to try and find a place to get the site corrected all while in a city I am unfamiliar with. You can find gas stations everywhere with air pumps, but when you don't have a tire gauge to measure it, it's still not going to rectify the issue. So that was a major issue and I deducted 1 star for that.
The second issue was the maintenance reminder wasn't reset; although, they said they serviced the car, they just did not have the capability to reset the monitor, that's another star. I ended up taking the car to the dealer for the "A Service" at which time they reset the monitor... This cost me $320.00, that's another star. They excelled up to the point of my getting in the divers seat. If they would hire maintenance people with the proper credentials for the make of car they are selling to ensure the service is complete and all monitoring systems are reset, they would get 5 stars from me.
I can get the car detailed with not too much out of pocket expense; however, mechanical issues on a Mercedes' isn't cheap and I know that, but one does not expect their new or nearly new car to need a visit to the dealership when they drive it off the lot. CARVANA: If you tighten up the service and prep of vehicles, your reviews and stock will soar. It may cost you in the beginning, but you will reap the benefits in the end.

In almost 50 years of driving and buying and selling cars Carvana was by far the most pain free experience I have ever had selling a car. Went online, got a great offer and I accepted. Approved in a few hours. Uploaded a few pictures and the next day an “advocate” was at my home to inspect the vehicle. After signing a few papers I had a check in my hand and the process was done. Amazing. I had also received a quote from Driveway. Their process was taking weeks to complete and was way more complicated, also offered price was less. Glad I went with Carvana. Highly recommend!

Bought a car from Carvana last month. First car I had to return in a couple of days due to failing transmission. I swapped it fairly easily, however, the loan service provider partnered with Carvana is a scam. Bridgecrest services the loan. I made my first payment one week before the due date, and 20 days later, Carvana shows reversing the payment on their site, but my bank confirms it has been paid and was not reversed. Attempting to collect more by defrauding customers into thinking their payments have not gone through. Carvana still has not sent me my registration after 30 days and is due to expire.

I chose Carvana because of the three car buying services I checked out, Carvana offered the most for my vehicle. I thought it was a very fair price, looking at what similar vehicles were selling for. Not being a computer-savvy person, I wasn't crazy about selling my vehicle online, but I managed to upload all the documents Carvana requested.
The biggest problem came when it was time for Carvana to pick up my vehicle. When I scheduled my appointment, I was told the nearest pick up point was an hour from my house. Ok. My ride back home and I arrived about 15 minutes early to the shopping center parking lot where the pick up would occur. After waiting 45 minutes, I called the 1 800 number to see what was going on. Was put on hold for about ten minutes before I got a human being on the line, then about another five minutes while she was trying to find out where my driver was.
This person then told me the driver was running behind, and would call me when en route. At this point, we had been in the parking lot for about an hour. About 45 minutes later the driver called and said she would be there in about an hour. She did arrive within the hour, but the fact that I had to reach out to Carvana to find out what was going on was very irritating. The real kicker came when the driver said she was not good with manual transmissions, and asked if I would drive the vehicle up onto the rollback. When I refused because of liability issues, she asked me to drive it to the foot of the rollback, which I did. Wow. Neither me, nor my ride home planned on spending almost four hours in a hot parking lot. Not a good experience.

Having the title free and clear I'm sure will make a difference. Had we owed with a lien, it may have taken longer. The process was smooth. The driver was courteous, emails and texting went like clock work from beginning to payment
