Technology can be used to improve the customer experience, enhance their delight, streamline processes and eliminate hurdles. Carvana found a way to utilize technology to make the entire buying experience slower, more turbulent, more rigid, more frustrating and a process that required far more time and cycles than going to a car lot would have. The entire process took WEEKS.
Some examples of my horrible experience: Received a call from a hacked Idaho number asking for passwords and credentials, I refused to answer them, because of that they failed my authentication and stated I could not finance a car with them for 6 months! and needed to bring my own financing. 3 escalations, same result. Ridiculous. This Jeep was to be a Christmas present for my wife, we had a confirmed date. When we switched to self-financed they reset everything and next available date was the 26th. We changed our vacation around and settled on a late Christmas present. They then changed the date again to the 29th with no explanation. Thanks Carvana.
I spent hours on the phone personally walking an associate through how they could verify my check with my local bank. They were calling a corporate number trying to get information on a check that was not cashed yet. Escalation after Escalation. The list goes on and on. I would bet I had 10 hours minimum trying to navigate this buying process with them. There is not any manager overrides for internal issues or mistakes that are available. Any route of escalation gets you to the same place. A rigid, computer-driven application that their employees themselves struggle to navigate through. A hybrid experience, could streamline and improve the buying experience and does for countless organizations. This appears to be flawed at the core.
Your feedback is incredibly valuable as Carvana is always looking to improve the customer experience. We know how excited our customers are to purchase a new vehicle, but when that vehicle is delayed it certainly hinders that experience. This is never our intent as we know how our customers rely on their vehicles to arrive on time for their means of transportation and lifestyle. We are very sorry to have inconvenienced you. Although you experienced bumps along the way, we appreciate the patience you had with us, and we hope you’re loving your new ride.

I have now bought 3 cars from Carvana. Two Acuras and one Honda. Two of them I've had over a year and not one issue. The other just recently got in the last month. All three have had zero issues, came as described and in really good shape. The trading and buying process was very easy and straight forward. Highly recommend.

I just purchased my fourth vehicle from Carvana in the last 3 years. I can't recommend it enough. I didn't even have to talk to a person until the day I sign the papers and took the car home. The whole process is just amazing.

Submitted VIN to Carvana online, got a very good offer within minutes. Uploaded a few documents, delivered the car to a hub, had the car checked, signed a few documents, received payment as direct deposit the following business day. Fabulous! Very satisfied.

We have bought two vehicles and sold one to Carvana. It's so easy to do. The website makes it easy. We just bought a 2017 Chevy Colorado, when they dropped it off, they had noted a couple of things that need to be fixed, and within 48 hrs the repairs had been fixed. We also bought a 2019 Jeep Wrangler for my daughter; again so easy. Both vehicles were picked up while watching a movie. I have several friends who have bought vehicles and they love them. Thank you, Carvana!!!

Would never recommend using Carvana. After our experience, my wife and I would rather spend the day at the car dealer. We are seniors and the car they delivered needs over $1,200.00 in repairs. We were lied to as to the cond. of the car. Needs front struts (leaking) and brakes are at 15% useful life. Their inspection had options marked as "Passed" that our car doesn't even have on it. What liars when you email them, we always got a electronic rep who would not answer our concerns. We finally got a human "Advocate" as they are called. Told them of the car issues. Referred to many shops but not one was willing to work with Carvana. Shops stated they never pay and they are not allowed to do Carvana's warranty work.
On the 7th day, they were to call to see if we wanted to keep the car, they never called and we could not get anyone to answer. We found no way to tell them that we didn't want it. Now we hear on the news that Carvana is on the verge of bankruptcy and is closing so many of their car pick-up locations. We feel so taken advantage of by Carvana. Buying from Carvana was the worst mistake in my 62 years of life. Will go and buy from our local car dealer next time. Will see the car BEFORE we have to pay for it. No wonder we are hearing they are going out of business. Check out the nightmare stories on YouTube. Ours is just one of many, many disappointed Carvana customers. Do you and your family a favor and DON'T BUY FROM CARVANA!
Carvana prides itself on providing our customers with an exceptional car buying experience coupled with high-quality pre-owned vehicles. We know that many customers select to purchase from Carvana because of the convenience, and we want to be sure that convenience is lasting far past the 7-Day Money Back Guarantee, however it seems like we missed the mark with your vehicle while completing our 150-point inspection. All of our vehicles come with a 100-day/4,189-mile warranty for additional peace of mind, but we are very sorry for the frustration we have caused you. We recommend getting in contact with Silverrock, our trusted warranty partner, to help resolve your concerns. You can always chat with us 24/7 if any questions arise. I am still shaking my head about how great this experience was of selling my car to Carvana. They offered me 15% more than any dealer. They only requested a picture of the mileage, my license, and loan payoff. They scheduled pickup 2 days later. They showed up on schedule. I signed 3 documents, handed them the keys and they were gone in 5 minutes. They took pictures of the car at the end of the driveway, loaded on the flatbed and left. While they were taking pictures I received a text that the purchase was complete and money on the way. The next morning the money was in my account! My loan was paid off 2 days later. Not much more to say except that everything they advertise is on point and exceeded any expectation I had. PLEASE PLEASE check Carvana's price before you go to trade your car in. Simple to do and you won't regret it!

I purchased my car from Carvana. They say they make the car buying experience easy, fast and hassle free, not true. If you have a problem they have you call this number wait and then call another number. First, they could not locate my payment (Wire Transfer) after almost a week. Secondly, they had to reschedule delivery 4 times. Initially my car was supposed to be delivered on 10/13, then on 10//11 they texted me stating there was a delay and the car wouldn't be there until 10/18, then on 10/17 they texted stating they need to reschedule delivery to 10/20, then on 10/17 they texted stating there was another delay and the car wouldn't be delivered until 10/24. On October 24, 2022 at 11:00am the car came. A nice gentleman went over the car. I spoke to him about some of the concerns that I had regarding the car.
I received a text message at 12:19pm. "The first step to address your mechanical concerns is to get diagnostic by a preferred repair facility" with a link of repair shops. I just got this car. I was mad! Now I got to follow up with repair shops. Another text message was sent stating that SilverRock will reach out to me within 24 to 48 hours. No one ever called me. Finally, I made an appointment with Firestone, I took the day off drove the car there for my appointment only for them to say come back the following day, they were short mechanics. So I took the car to Chevrolet, whom were on the preferred repair shop. They said they do not work on Volvos. These are the companies that SilverRock have contracted to give estimates and to fix the vehicles they warranty.
I put 1 quart of oil in the car like it said. My oil light came back on, the car was making a noise, when putting gas in the car it kept clicking as if the car was filled with gas, my key worked intermittently. After, speaking to SilverRock I was able to take my car to Volvo of Marietta (due to the key fob.) They inspected the car and I was told that everything would be fixed and that it was under the warranty. Only finding out the day I was supposed to pick up the car they didn't cover the oil consumption test. The car needed brakes and rotors because the back brakes were at 1.5mm. I had just got this car and Carvana says they do a 150 inspection. Needless to say I spoke to the supervisor and they did not cover it. I complained of the brakes squeaking the day I got the car. On 12/7 I picked up my car from Volvo of Marietta. They did top off the oil and said I should drive the car 1200 miles and get the oil consumption test done.
I drove the car 2 weeks. The oil light came on again. I contacted SilverRock they gave me 2 repair shops in my area. The first one did not even answer, I left a message and no return call. Then I called Eurofed Decatur, I made an appointment for 10/27 at 10am. I dropped off my car, no one called me for 2 days. I called them back. I was told they would have to look at the car on 01/2. So I waited and on 01/04 I received a call and an invoice stating he did an oil change and that they were not billing the warranty company for the oil change. I had to pay for the diagnostic test and the oil change $402.00 later. The guy at Eurofed Decatur stated this car hasn't had a oil change in a while. The oil was nasty and the filter was made in China and according to him that's not good for a Volvo.
I called SilverRock and spoke to a woman who tried to convince the guy at Eurofed Decatur to go through the warranty steps but he said he was not. Now I am forced to pay to get my car and complete a request to get my money back from SilverRock. Which may or may not be approved. I am back at square 1. No oil consumption test, drive more miles and wait until my warranty is done in February. Carvana certifies all vehicles 100 days or 4189 miles and completes 150- point inspection to ensure quality. I do not believe one was performed on my car. Bottom line is if Carvana did the 150 inspection like they said I would not be having these problems. Not being able to get in contact to with someone regarding my problem has been very frustrating. They want to to message chat Sebastian their Cardian Angel who is available 24/7. I have only had my car for 72 days!

I was scared at first because I'd never bought a car this way. I asked around and everyone said it was easy. I tried it and I must agree it was very easy. After finding my dream car through Carvana, the process was easy and painless. The follow up customer service was phenomenal! The only reason I don't give this a 5-star rating is because they delivered it with 1/2 tank of gas instead of a full tank and it would've been nice had they washed it. Other than that I absolutely love my Genesis!

Our first Carvana experience was in Jan 2019. Pretty smooth transaction; drove to Jacksonville which is about 4 hrs away. Carvana kept their appointment and it was a great experience. This last experience was much different. We signed a contract a couple days before Christmas and was scheduled to pick up the car the following week. All the requisite items were submitted. The day prior I get a text from Carvana that they had to move the pickup date several days later and at 8 am. That wasn't going to work since we'd be out of town. I got online and rescheduled to 3 Jan 23 (3 days after their 8 am recommendation on 31 Dec 22). Driving back from a family vacation mid-morning on 2 Jan I get another text that the vehicle pickup had to be rescheduled to 23 Jan 23. So now we are looking at almost a full month removed from the original date of picking the car out and scheduling a pickup date.
So, I became curious. Is the car actually still available? Even though you are under contract the website still should have the car available for viewing and indicate "Purchase in Progress." No such indication. The car was nowhere to be found. Though I cannot prove it, my suspicion is Carvana sold it and kept moving my pickup date in hopes I'd just cancel. Well, mission accomplished, Carvana, if that was indeed your motivation.
When I called customer service I said I had lost confidence and wouldn't be scheduling my life events around what I suspected would be another re-schedule. I told them if they could make a concession and deliver to my house (even though I'm outside their 100 mile radius of a location), I'd still purchase the car for trade-in + cash equaling approximately $44,000. They said no. Rigidity in business typically doesn't bode well, especially in a heavily customer service reliant model. The best they could do was offer me some equivalent vehicles to "place in my favorites" on the website. This just fed my suspicion the car I wanted was not available anymore. Once they actually cancel a transaction the car should immediately be available (the representative even said that to me). I looked....the car we were set to purchase was not there.
The entire experience was disappointing especially since they have no method of recording external feedback. The best the representative could do was put in a complaint on my behalf that remains internal to the company. Who operates a business like this, where you are not transparent and honest even in your feedback system? Whether she actually wrote down my concerns or not I cannot confirm. She said she was, but I'm certain it will all go nowhere. Again, good first experience several years ago. This one...much different and I have now gone from recommending Carvana to telling folks to steer clear if asked. Customer service may prove to be the only saving grace for this company since they are declining so rapidly with respect to their bottom line. In a few years this company will no longer be solvent if they don't change their business model and transparency with customers.

I bought a car in June of last year. It needed four new tires immediately and now requires a total engine cleaning from carbon buildup and new rear brakes. Although I bought their extended warranty from SilverRock and have been paying $100 a month for the coverage, these are not covered! I have lost $3000 in less than six months. Do not buy anything from Carvana! SilverRock's warranty is a joke!

I sold a car to Carvana and the entire process was incredibly smooth. About the only gripe I have was the valuation process. I made a small change and had to wait several hours for it to be reviewed. But, that's a minor issue. The communication; capturing of documents and the pick-up of the vehicle was very smooth. Would use them again if I had a need.

Horrible experience. Found the car I wanted to buy. Completed all required documents, got insurance and submitted everything only to get a email for a quote for my trade in 3,000 lower. I then tried to cancel the order which turned into a two hour ordeal on hold to never get ahold of anyone. Website finally allowed me to cancel the order when app didn’t. Was your told someone would text me back and never heard back from anyone. Go to a dealer. At least you know what to expect. Worst experience ever. Not honest about process.

We felt that the customer service was very good. Any time we had any questions, or needed anything, the people that we spoke to were knowledgeable and courteous. Two very hard things to find these days, and especially with any of the employees we dealt with. From start to finish everyone was great. The process was pretty smooth, and the car was exactly the way it was advertised. The only thing that would have made our lives easier, was if it could have been delivered. We live about 80 miles from where the pickup spot was in Orlando, but we did not finance through Carvana, so they said they could not deliver it. Either way, we got a good vehicle for a good price. We are happy anyway.

I purchased a vehicle in Dec. 2022. No issues with the website. It was efficient and helpful. The communication was abysmal. With a couple exceptions, every interaction was met with short sightedness, defensiveness, and argument. The first part was inconvenient, and a solid indicator of what was coming. I received an email 2 hours before I was picking up the car that it was delayed for 2 days due to "transportation delays". An EMAIL. TWO HOURS before pickup. This should have been communicated earlier and by phone call. I had to find transportation for the next 2 days.
I arrived for pickup 2 days later to find a filthy car sitting in the parking lot. Once I met with the Sales Advocate, he said that he had to go get papers together and I could take a look at the car if I wanted to. He never walked the car with me or went through any type of checklist to ensure and agree on condition. I told him it was very dirty and he agreed to give me $100 to offset my cleaning expense. He was impersonal and took all enjoyment out of the process. That night, once I had removed all the crud from the car, I found a 5 inch crack in the windshield. This was not disclosed as a defect when purchased, although I don't know how something like that gets missed.
I reached out via chat with a live advocate the following morning and, after more than an hour back and forth, was ultimately told that I needed to wait another 24-48 hours because my account dashboard hadn't updated yet. (How did you sell me a car if you don't have my info?) Anyway, I waited and followed up to let them know. I didn't have any other issues with the vehicle at that time and just wanted the windshield repaired. I reached out via text chat to another live agent. (This chat went on for the next couple hours.)
They immediately told me that this was an "out of pocket expense". I let them know that this was not disclosed, nor did the sales associate inspect the vehicle with me so that we agree on condition. The text agent then said "You can take it to a repair facility so they can provide you with an estimated cost of having it repaired or replaced." Thinking I was finally getting somewhere, I responded: "And what do I do with the estimate? Do I need to take it to a specific place?" Their response: "This is an out of pocket expense." Wait. Did that just happen???
I asked to speak with the departmental manager. Nope. They said that the manager doesn't have a phone. Then, once I repeated that to be sure they knew what they were telling me, they said they could request a call back for me in 24-48 hours. I said "yes, have them call me". She then said she couldn't do that.Due to the course of the two hour text conversation combined with the time already wasted with previous text threads, I asked who I needed to talk to in order to return the vehicle. Knowing that I would never get this level of service from a dealership, my preference is not to do business with any company that cares so little for their customers.
This was her exact response: "We can definitely assist you with the returning process, but we'll require you to fix the windshield, I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience." It was then crystal clear that it didn't matter that they neglected to complete the walk-through process and sold me a filthy vehicle after costing me 2 days of car rental due to lack of proper communication. They were accusing me of attempting to commit fraud by lying about the windshield, which would have not been more than a couple hundred dollars. We lost much more than that, simply in the time lost on the phone. Carvana would be better to go the route of Dick's Last Resort and just put insulting hats on all of us. That way we all know going in that our patronage will be met with disdain and no one will be disappointed. Never again.

At 69 I'm not only painfully tech illiterate but a proud TECHNO-GROUCH. So much so I've always mocked the whole concept of online car buying despite a half-century of in-person car buying experiences ranging from just frustrating, to comparable to oral surgery! But after two recent failed attempts in one week to buy a used car at auto dealers that well represented the gamut described above, I went to Autotrader.com to further investigate the current state of used hot hatch-backs. That investigation soon focused on VW GTIs; the gold standard of hot-hatches (I've owned two in the past).
It quickly became apparent not only that Carvana had a great selection of GTIs fitting my search filters, but Carvana is competitively priced, their website excellent, and they offered $4000 MORE TRADE-IN value for my 2017 Ram 1500 truck than did either brick-and-mortar car dealer! The much higher trade-in value allowed me to comfortably increase the price search filter by $3000 and decrease the odometer-mileage filter.
So I got an almost like-new GTI with only 22,000 miles rather than twice that, for less out-of-pocket than I imagined possible. Took me a couple days to read, UNDERSTAND every word, and complete all documents required to complete the auto purchase completely online (as you'd imagine), but it was easier to accomplish than I'd thought.
My new (used) GTI is every bit as nice as thoroughly described by Carvana. And when I discovered I'd left my garage-door opener clipped to the visor of my trade-in, a call to Carvana got my door opener back in my hands two days later (by FedEx)... no charge! I'd have never thunk this old techno-grouch would be leaving a glowing review about an online car-buying experience, but IT'S ALL GOOD!

My husband and me decided to trade in my car on a Sunday. All documents were submitted on Sunday. I spoke to a representative on Monday to go over the mileage and payoff for my trade-in. The payment was supposed to be $93 a month. Everything was done and I signed the contract to have it scheduled for delivery. I received another phone call the same week lowering my trade-in value which increased my cost of financing. They also increased my interest rate. Now they wanted $114 a month payment.
I told the representative that I wanted what I was originally quoted and signed for and they absolutely refused to give me it or do anything to help me with the situation. I was put on hold for over 30 minutes just to come back with we can't honor the offer that was originally offered to me. I was so upset over the experience. Then they were supposed to deliver the car on December 23. I was contacted again saying that they couldn't deliver it until December 30. They were very unprofessional in my opinion. I will never deal with them again.
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. We are always looking for ways to improve. We are sorry to hear your trade in experience did not reflect the stress-free process we hope for. Our vehicle appraisals are based on the following: Kelly Blue Book current fair market value, vehicle features, current mileage, and the VIN inspection. Each of those factors help to determine a fair value for your vehicle. We are sorry it sounds like this offer did not meet your needs. Should you like to consider moving forward, please note all Carvana trade values are good for 7 days.

1) You can use the "free shipping" filter but still pay for shipping. I was charged $790 for "free shipping". No, I don't mean delivery.
2) Delayed the pick-up date by more than a week. I read in reviews that this is more common than uncommon. No reason. They say they can't track the vehicle or communicate with the driver. Sure.
3) Despite 3 calls to verify the "vending machine" was working, it was broken, and had been for a few weeks. To some this isn't a big deal. But to a mother who took her young child from bed at the break of dawn on Christmas break so he could put the big coin in and watch the music and lights, it was a big deal. I even got a name from customer service and was told to call her directly if there was a problem - she was very convincing. When I called and asked for her, she was in a meeting. Right.
4) There were two new door dings which happened in transit because they were not in the original pictures. The scratches were so deep they took off the paint and left grooves in the metal. I was told to load pictures to the site and the company would reimburse the cost or fix it. Instead, I submitted pictures and within 10 minutes had a response that it was a used vehicle (2022 4Runner) and this was to be expected and they would not cover it. Salt in the wound was that I paid $790 to ship, during which it was scratched.
5) Don't pay any attention to the dates that pop up for pick up or delivery. They are completely made up. The site said I could have my vehicle within 2 days even though one of those days was Christmas and the vehicle was in a different state- obviously, this isn't going to be accurate.
6) 20+ min hold times or you can chat with a robot or text with the same robot. They don't want you to reach them because it's never for a happy reason. Now, if they need your paperwork or an answer they are going to call and they are going to be sure they have everything THEY need. It's a very one-sided business relationship and that's exactly what you'll feel.
After working with Carvana I really just feel abused. Every step of the way it was the customer that had to accept the bad news. They could not care less, and it showed. It was a take it or leave it attitude. I recommend working with a traditional company because it would save money. A salesperson whose money is made only if a deal is made is far more likely to not let you walk away and would compensate delays, scratches, and malfunctions. I could have saved money working with a traditional company, Carvana is good at manipulation and have convinced consumers otherwise.
The 2020 Ecosport I originally picked out brokedown 20 minutes after leaving Carvana. The local office offered little help and instead gave me a number to call. That gave me a list of repair stations that didn’t want to touch the car because it was so new. They instead said it needed to go to Ford. Carvana said that would cost me $200… $200 on a car I owned for 20 minutes. I ended up asking them to come get it and waited about a week for a second car to be delivered.
Thank you for your honest feedback. It saddens us to hear that you encountered some roadblocks during the purchase/pick up process which created a less than exceptional experience. Due to personal circumstances my family no longer needed two vehicles and was in need of selling our Volvo SUV. Working with Carvana was a smooth and simple process. The information needed was simple and easy to provide, the communication about transaction was clear and the personal service was professional. The process from cradle to grave of selling the vehicle was the easiest I've ever experienced. Was truly impressed!!! Thank you Carvana.

Went through the process to trade my car in, picked a car, signed my contracts, and had a delivery date scheduled. 24 hours before delivery, they sent me an email that said, “Sorry, we can’t sell you this car. We’ll call you in 24 hours to explain why.” I called them immediately, and got my call escalated to a rep. He told me that they didn’t have the car. Wait… the pictures show Carvana plates on the car, and there was a so called 150 point inspection. How do you do that without having the car? I’m staying very far away from this business. My ** meter is pinging like mad. I had switched my car after this, but I cancelled that too and just went to a dealership. 12 hours later, I had a Charger Hellcat and Carvana is disappearing very quickly in the rear view mirror.

Picked a used German car from Carvana. Very competitively priced, even including delivery. No dealer fees, no negotiations, delivered at the doorstep - what can you not enjoy with that experience. However, do not trust Carvana with doing the right stuff with oil changes and all that good stuff. They underfilled oil in the car. Their tech probably don't know what they are doing. I had to top it up to even drive it without burning through engine components.

I first ordered a Hyundai Tuscon and the night before the first delivery date I got an email that it would be delayed 2 weeks. 2 weeks later I got an email that there was another delay. Carvana could not tell me why. Then I found out there was a tire problem. I switched to a Toyota RAV4 and the night before THAT delivery I got an email that this car was delayed a week. It took me 2 months to get my new car. Then, when the car came, it had only 1/2 a tank of gas and HORRIBLE smelling cherry air freshener that I'm still trying to get rid of. AND the license plate wouldn't attach because there was a faulty screw. The delivery guy told me to take it to a dealer but luckily my husband got tools and repaired it. I would NOT recommend Carvana.

This experience by far had been the WORST car buying experience that I have ever had, from a company that supposedly prides itself on convince! My wife and I purchase a Mercedes from Carvana on Thursday December 8, 2022 with an expected delivery of Wednesday December 14, 2022 at 3:45p at their Gaithersburg Maryland vending site, an early Christmas gift for my wife. At 3:30pm on the day of pick up I received a call from Carvana, just as were out the door on our way to the location, telling us the vehicle did not pass inspection and that they have to reschedule the pick-up for Friday December 16th. As inconvenient as that was considering we took the time from work for the pick-up we agreed.
Two days later on that Friday, the day of pick up, when we arrived at the designated time we were told the vehicle wasn’t ready and that it was being “detailed’. They had us waiting for about and hour, when no other customer was at the location. When the representative finally came out to complete the paperwork it looked as if he had just woke up from a nap. While finishing the paperwork the “detailed” car had finally arrived. We went outside to look at the vehicle and it looked as if it had just been ran through a local gas station car wash. It was still dirty with water marks on the body and windows, the inside was not cleaned, or at least cleaned well. We still took the car, even though we didn’t get that promoted vending machine experience they so proudly advertise, whatever!
To any extent as we were diving back to the house suddenly the back tire sensors go off indicating that the cars two rears tire were severely underinflated (the tires should be at 39psi, they were at 23 and 24psi). They let us drive off the lot without checking the tires' air pressure, a safety risk! We made it home and I put air in the tires, which didn’t even have tires caps BTW. We decided to put this experience behind us and go to dinner to celebrate her new vehicle. On the way back from dinner the entire dashboard lite up like a Christmas tree with all kinds of alerts and warnings, along with the check engine light. The next morning, we called Carvana and they had us take it to one of their in-network mechanics (exactly what I wanted to do on my Saturday).
After running a diagnostic on the car the mechanic concluded that the car's front sensor was faulty and that without the sensor he could not even begin to tell us what other things could be wrong with the vehicle. We called Carvana obviously upset. They offered a $250 cash back if we decided to swap out the vehicle with another one that we might like. So we looked at the inventory, and against my better judgement, went through the process again on the phone with them for the swap out Saturday evening. We specified that we wanted to pick up the vehicle on Wednesday December 21 at 3:30pm.
Upon reviewing the new paperwork that was sent we realized they put the wrong pick up date, Friday the 23rd as oppose to Wednesday the 21st as we requested (which by the way a winter storm is forecasted for that day so who knows if we get it that day). In summary, we made the initial purchase Dec 8 and won't get our vehicle until possibly Dec 23rd at the earliest! So what have I learned from this car buying experience? Carvana doesn’t care about my time, my business and apparently my safely. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!
Thank you for your honest feedback. It saddens us to hear that you encountered some roadblocks during the purchase process which created a less than exceptional experience. 1st time Carvana consumer, but not the last time. Entire experience was seamless and hassle and haggle free! The Carvana representatives were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They walked us through the process bumper to bumper. They answered all my questions, and I had quite a few and if there was anything they couldn't answer right away they put me in contact with a team leader who could. And with the exception of one representative all went the extra mile in customer service. We found the exact vehicle make, year and model, exterior and interior color AND the all important mileage we wanted. The relief of not having to deal with a car lot representative was a huge plus! I would most certainly use Carvana again without hesitation.
Now, the delivery portion...not so much. Yes. It was delivered on date promised. Upon arrival I was informed that my CORVETTE, yes a Corvette had been damaged upon loading. I was told ramps were not used when car was loaded and due to this the front rubber guard was dragged off the bumper and damaged. I was also told it would drag while unloading. I borrowed ramps from my neighbor and vehicle was unloaded without any issues or more damage. Also I had to purchase new wipers immediately due to inclement rainy weather and the wipers which were on the Corvette were partly shredded and the rubber was almost non existent on one of the blades and only partially attached. You would think that this would have been taken care of upon inspection and before delivering.
The damage to the bumper will be covered by the Carvana Warranty. I have no complaints regarding the purchasing or the Carvana website. I have an AMAZING car and the experience was stress free and painless. The delivery portion left a bit to be desired. When you are trusted to transport an expensive high end sports car you would think ramps and precaution would be used to avoid ANY cosmetic or other damages. I would not hesitate to use Carvana again.

I was very surprised when car arrived 10 days late. Brakes and rotors were actually replaced to brand new ones. Brand new four Continental tires were put on. Car came with actual plate and registration. Not temporary registration or plates. Except for the delay to repair my car's brakes and rotors & put 4 brand new tires. Now delay became acceptable lol. I recommend them only cause issue was fixed and process was very convenient. Also they kept their words regarding perfecting the car before delivery. I would definitely buy again.

I am in process of buying a SUV from them. It's a disaster. Delivery date was pushed from original date twice, more delays to come. They text you and reschedule a time at their most convenient time. You are not informed as to why it's being delayed and where the car is. They are BIG TIME LIARS. My SUV Carfax history shows its brakes and rotors were replaced 2000 miles ago at the dealer. But when I called to ask, "Why a 10 day delay?" They said because rotors and brakes were bad so it will take 10 days.
So they didn't perform 150 point inspection? They find out that my SUV's brakes are bad a day before my delivery date? Stay away from them. If you are reading other people's review with similar experience you can clearly see that they are just copy-pasting answer to customer's issues. Not a single human answering the issues or concerns. Not a single issue is being corrected. So many people I know experience same exact problem. Still waiting for my car...
We know our customers are excited to purchase a new vehicle, but when that vehicle is delayed it hinders that experience. We understand our customers rely on their vehicles for transportation and lifestyle. We are very sorry to have inconvenienced you, and thankful for your feedback.

I purchased a vehicle from Carvana. There were multiple issues on day nine of owning the car the service engine soon light was on. I took the car to a reputable car repair facility. The tires were 10 years old and dry rotted (could not tell by looking but rode hard), there was an oil leak, gaskets needed replaced, the wrong oil filter for this particular car was on the car, the gas line was weak could leak at any time and the back struts were leaking. Carvana paid for the gaskets and struts. I had to pay for the tires $1000. The gas leak was not covered because it was not broken completely and leaking (I could not take a chance on it leaking with fumes being flammable) this was $889.00 plus the service to get the right oil filter on and oil change. Completed.
I then paid the $200 deductible and parts for repairs I had to pay. I paid for the car and nine days later had to pay another $2200. Just waiting for the next repairs that I may not know about. Will never suggest buying a car from Carvana. As people have asked me and I tell them my experience. I am currently waiting on the key fob that was not working when I got the car, it is supposed to be ordered and going to be taken care of.

I found just the car I was looking for on Carvana. I have used Carmax for the past several purchases and assumed this was similar - I was wrong. It was difficult to get a real person to help when I had questions. Each time I talked to a real person, I was given conflicting information from the previous person I had spoken with. Some of the issues:
I was first told I could use the sale of my car I was replacing to offset the sales tax on my purchase - I needed only to upload an official state Bill of Sale. Then days later I was told that was not possible and needed to be handled by the DOV. Fine, but give me the correct answer in the first place.
2) Carvana moved my delivery date three times. The last time I literally was on the phone with a customer advocate that assured me everything was in order and my car would be delivered in the next two days as stated. Less than an hour later I received an auto-generated email that my delivery date was moved to the following week. LESS THAN AN HOUR from being told differently. I had sold my car and was without for this period of time.
3) When I received the car there was no front license plate bracket. I live in Missouri and the car was delivered to Missouri and tagged in Missouri. Missouri REQUIRES a front tag. I was told first that they would pay for one, but the next guy that walked in the door said all they would do is drill two holes in the bumper and I would have to take care of that.
4) My vehicle arrived missing a rubber hood stop which was clearly visible in all of the pictures of the vehicle. Too bad. They don't cover or replace that. It was in the pictures and NOT on the vehicle.
5) They really want you to finance with them. I have excellent credit. They offered a rate of almost 11%!!!! I financed at my bank for just over half that. They offered me 1/3 of the trade in value on the car I was getting rid of. In conclusion - no - I would not recommend Carvana. Carmax was much easier to work with. While I'm glad I found the car I wanted, I will not use Carvana again and will not recommend them to anyone else.

When you purchase a car on Carvana, their application is coded to clearly provide you a message that you do not need to provide proof of insurance until the day prior to delivery. However, if the representative does not like your response (in my case providing proof the car was insured under my business policy), they manually change the due date to provide proof of insurance to less than 24 hrs. Knowing a corporation is willing to change the terms of data after a transaction has been executed by the consumer is a very uneasy feeling and would likely be considered illegal and an act of fraud if legal action is taken. I wish to leave this post here so that when enough consumers feel fraud has been committed, an attorney working in a class-action lawsuit will know to examine the fraudulent activity.

I was a bit hesitant at first and explored online reviews. When I found that my own bank is actually recommending Carvana I felt much better and went for it. The app and website are extremely well-made. I ordered a car then easily canceled it within a day, no questions asked. Then I ordered another car and stuck with it. The delivery was very professional and the people were extremely friendly. They gave me time to go over the car and test drive it while they waited curbside. Because they were a couple of hours late (they called ahead) they gave me an extra 100 miles to drive the car on the first week (it is normally 400 miles). The delivery guy gave me his personal number to call with any questions and advised me to take the car for further inspection at my mechanic's during that first week (which I did and it passed with flying colors).
After a week of driving the car, I decided to keep it. There were no surprises and no hassle. Overall I am satisfied. The only reason I gave this review four stars instead of five is the cost. While I do understand that as a customer I am paying for my peace of mind, I think the overall cost can be a bit less. I estimate that I paid between 15 to 20% more than what I would have paid at a regular dealer.

The entire process was very easy to complete. The delivery process was very smooth. I received a 7-day money-back guarantee with a 100 day warranty. The day the car was delivered the driver informed me about a crack in the taillight, and informed me that Carvana would be covering the repair at no cost to me through SilverRock Auto. On the 5th day we noticed a burning smell with the brakes so I took it to Midas and it was covered. I also took the vehicle to the Dodge Dealership, and paid for an inspection before my 7 day money back guarantee was up.
Dodge informed me that the Dodge Dart was in mint condition, and that whoever had it before me took very good care of the car. They also told me that there was no issues with the vehicle, and that it had never been in any accidents. They did however inform me about 2 recalls which Dodge is fixing free of charge. I am just waiting on the parts to come in, and that will be fixed. I had forgotten to add to the car profile that the car came equipped with a Technology package from Nissan. The mileage update was less than 100 miles. After the update, the offer price dropped to $19,869. A drop of over $1,500! I added new features, which should have increased the offer price. The woman at Carvana said that since the new features could not be insured, the price dropped. This didn't make sense because the features were factory, not aftermarket. Seller beware. I love the idea of not having to sit in a little room while the dealership takes my keys away and won't let me go until I buy a car. Carvana really is a good idea. The website is easy, browsing cars and getting all the info I needed was easy and just as good as being there. I rated it lower because I had a series of delivery date changes. On one delivery change I was going to go over the allotted miles before delivery on my car so we were doing a new odometer read but when we were doing a new odometer read the price on the car I was buying went up $1000!
It took many calls waiting 20 minutes or more each time talking to several different people over several days to finally talk to someone who knew what they were doing who fixed it in a couple of minutes. Fortunately I had signed my contract so the price was returned to the original selling price. Be sure to sign your contract right away! That's the only thing that saved me the $1000, the price of the car can change at any time if you haven't signed a contract. That experience is what made me think twice about this. If I had one person to talk to throughout this process, that I could text, not even call that knew what they were doing and fix things when things went wrong, it would have been a much better experience.
After four delivery date changes I did get the car. I took it to a Nissan dealership and it was in great shape so I bought it. It took four weeks and unfortunately too much worry. But I wouldn't say don't use Carvana, someone was trying to help me and things went wrong, the problem was the system, not having an expediting system to someone who knows how to fix a problem right away like the person I finally, accidentally found.

I sold my car to Carvana yesterday and right from the start the process was very simple from start to finish. However, there was one caveat that for me justified a 3-star rating as opposed to 5 and that is an issue with payment. Their offer was $1,400 above what my payoff was and as promised the driver had a check in hand. Unfortunately, when I deposited the check there was an immediate 10-day hold on the funds. We're not talking tens of thousands here, but a meager $1,400 dollars.
As per my bank, the hold originated from the bank Carvana issues payment from. No other info could be given to me as to why except for Carvana's customer service rep informing me that payments on their end come from something called a zero balance account. No idea what that means but that's all the info I received. I write this because if this was a large sum and I needed that money right away for another purchase, that would be a problem. So do yourself a favor and find out if you'll have to wait for payment especially if you're dealing with a significant amount of money. Not having access to a meager payout for 10 days is unacceptable.

Hands down the simplest, most efficient car buying experience I’ve ever had. The website was easy to navigate. Financing was super simple. The entire buying process after choosing my truck took about 25 minutes. Rather than a half day day affair at a dealership fighting off salespeople trying to sell me things I didn’t need or want. The vehicle delivery was scheduled and an appointment time was given. Carvana advocates stayed in touch with me through the process. My vehicle was delivered on the date provided and precisely at the time given. The delivery driver was extremely professional and friendly. I took advantage of the 7 day trial when I decided I wanted a more optioned out version of the truck I first took delivery of.
Carvana was friendly about the change of mind and it was a very simple process to choose another. No issues whatsoever. The new truck was scheduled for delivery and Carvana stayed in touch through the process. Again, the delivery driver for the next truck was just as professional and friendly as the first. No issues, no hassles. The entire exchange took maybe 20 minutes. My wife will be next in the market for a new vehicle and Carvana is first on our list. After dealing with them, I wouldn’t deal with anyone else. First time in my life a car buying experience was a pleasant and simple one!

While I would love to give 5 stars because I believe this is a great resource for buying a vehicle I am sorry to say that this wasn't the case on my purchase. During my buying process in the beginning I was disconnected in the middle of the process and almost lost my opportunity to purchase the vehicle I wanted. Second, after that issue was fixed once I got to the last step for insurance verification I was given a deadline and didn't think anything of it. Then out of the blue before that deadline I received an email saying it expired. This happened twice before the issue was fixed. So I nearly lost the chance two more times. Finally and the most frustrating part was when the vehicle was dropped off it had a bolt stuck in the tire, two different brands of tires, chip in the windshield, low battery in the key fob and one of the seats is very hard to move up in order to let people into the third row.
The bolt was discovered immediately and I was advised it wouldn't be an issue getting it fixed. Then it went flat a couple hours later. So then I had to argue and deal with Carvana for an hour to get it fixed. All the while they would not take responsibility to make it right without a hassle. The other issues were discovered within a couple hours of drop off and reported. But was told I had to go through the warranty process. A warranty isn't for repairs that should've been done before the vehicle was sold. Warranty is for things that happen after a purchase. I am highly disappointed in the way I was treated and I still haven't got these issues resolved with an extreme amount of hassle. Carvana seems to not care once the vehicle is off their hands!

We were in the market for a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and found what we thought we were looking for on Carvana. It was the right package and included both the soft-top and hard-top according to the vehicle description. After a few delays and changes to the delivery date, we finally went to the "vending machine" to get the vehicle. The first disappointment was that the vending machine was broken. Supposedly this was rare but I'm seeing it was the first of many lies. Regardless, the vehicle was outside and looked to be in good shape. Once we finally got the attention of the attendant who was overwhelmed (even though we all had appointments) we got down to completing the deal.
The first thing we asked was where the hard-top was being kept. The attendant got nervous, said she had to check on it, and disappeared in the back for a while. In the meantime we completed sign all documents and were ready to go. When she returned she told us she spoke with the "inside team" and they told her that what is shown under the vehicle description is simply the ORIGINAL FACTORY WINDOW STICKER and that we shouldn't expect all the accessories to be there. I can maybe understand that for some floor mats or a cigarette lighter but this is a $3000 roof!! Carvana says they inspect each car but they didn't update the listing with a huge missing item? Of course we were upset. The attendant suggested we utilize the 7-day return window and that she was sure the inside team would make it right. We naively thought that would be the case.
The next day we called the inside team and explained the situation. The agent fully agreed with us and why we would be upset, to the point of getting a supervisor physically on the floor to see what next steps might be. That conversation ended with him saying that the "pricing team" would need to review to see if they could reimburse for the cost of the roof, but that at the very least they would refund us $500 for our trouble. He said he was unavailable the following day but assured us he would contact with the final resolution on the day after when he was back at work. Of course neither he nor anyone else called back when they said they would. So, I followed up today.
The agent I spoke with read me the details from the ticket which basically amounted to "Too Bad". The excuse is that they have a small disclaimer in tiny gray print at the bottom of the listing that says "Please note: The equipment listed above is the configuration of the vehicle as originally sold. Items such as XM and other service subscriptions, original tires, and removable accessories (such as cargo nets) are unlikely to still be on the vehicle.". That's right, THE HARDTOP ROOF is considered a removable item. What about the seats? I can remove those in a Jeep. The windshield? No problem. It's a couple of clips.
So now we're faced with a dilemma. Do we go on our own and purchase a hardtop, spending money we weren't expecting in the deal? Do we go through the hassle of driving 45 minutes and who knows what paperwork to return the vehicle? The vehicle is fine. It's actually really nice. But we're soured on the entire process. It feels like we're dealing with a lowlife shady used-car dealer that pulls you in with a bait-and-switch hoping that we will only learn about the issues when it's too late.

From my initial online experience which was as speedy as promised, through the moment the check was in my hand, every interaction I had with this company was terrific. Not to mention that the algorithm that noticed the mileage on the photo of the odometer was less than I had estimated in completing the form, and increased the offer! Of course, there were a couple of glitches with the software, but every human I dealt with was pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The price offered was more generous than another online vehicle company.

Initially, the experience of buying a car online seemed convenient. However, it took much longer than anticipated and documents, required were confusing. If that had been the only problem, it would’ve been all right. However, they were delivered the wrong vehicle. I didn’t realize until after test driving it, and the driver left that the Vin number did not match. The Carfax had also been altered to indicate a jump from 40,000 miles to the current 27,000 miles with no explanation. After multiple attempts to contact online I had to stay on the phone and wait close to half an hour to speak with a human. They arranged to pick up the vehicle with no explanation of what had happened.
As they had taken a down payment, I proceeded to find a similar vehicle on their website and ask them to please deliver this instead. Once again, the online documents took a long time and required multiple texts and phone calls with my loan officer and Carvana. An advocate for Carvana told me my down payment would be transferred to a new vehicle with a refund of the difference. However, a whole new down payment was removed from my bank account. Now Carvana has taken a total of over $20,000 which resulted in an overdraft of my account, the idea of buying a car solely online sounds good, however, this company seems inadequate, and I would not suggest them to anyone.

Purchased a used (2019) vehicle. Upon delivery, we found items wrong with vehicle that were not noted in description and delivery driver documented. Driver even found cosmetic damage that was not disclosed and documented it for us. Warranty company (Silver Rock Carvana) with whom there is a 100 day warranty, reached out and advised to take car to shop that same day. 2 separate shops, 1 for cosmetic and 1 for diagnostic. 7 day money back warranty was during Thanksgiving week and actually fell over Thanksgiving day, but still counted (even though nothing was open or available). Basically stuck with the car, got it into diagnostic shop as soon as possible (day 11) and was advised over $1700 in repairs needed. Warranty company was advised and denied all claims stating car was accepted at time of delivery (even though issues were well documented and there is a 100 day warranty on car plus manufacturer’s warranty).
Contacted Carvana and was told warranty company made their decision and nothing more could be done. This car supposedly passed Carvana’s 150 point inspection, but all problems stemmed from their work! Brakes were done wrong (rotor machined wrong and calipers sticking making breaking difficult and noisy), oil pan plug was plastic and installed incorrectly causing oil drips, air filters full of leaves, and never touched causing smell inside, sunroof not sealing properly, fog light broken, and the list goes on!
Carvana “advocate” refused any assistance and when asked to speak with someone else was told no one else would speak with me and they stood behind warranty companies decision. And I still have 2 other shops to take this car to just get it to the point where it matched Carvana’s description! So yeah, I should either have never purchased this car with this lousy company who doesn’t back their products (cars or warranties), or should have returned it within the 7 days, on Thanksgiving no less (when they weren’t even open), because the warranty is absolutely a joke and the company could care less.
I did ask about the manufacturers warranty and they couldn’t even give me any info on it! Said I have to call manufacturer myself! Gee thanks for selling me a car you “inspected” and caused more problems to, promoting a warranty you don’t honor and another you know nothing about!! Save yourself money, time, and stress and buy elsewhere! Anywhere else!

Updated on 12/02/2022: UPDATE: while typing this Nick called me and said that he is doing the buyback of the Kia and overnighting the check for my Fiat and he will have Bridgecrest return the payment of $319 to me but that will be after Dec 7th and take 7-10 days after the 7th. He said he was going to call me back before he clocks out tonight to make sure we are still on the same page. We will see if he calls. I truly hope he does. I let him know all I am wanting is the Kia to be picked up, the money for the sale of my Fiat (that Carvana has had since Sept 29th) and my payment of $319 returned so that I can move forward and decide if I want to purchase another car from Carvana with a clean slate. He was under the impression that I was trying to do a swap and I am not.
I am planning on using the money I receive for selling my Fiat ($3472) towards a new purchase. I told him I just want to put all this behind me and act as if none of this ever happened. I don't want this on my Carvana account. I want to start fresh and pray for the best. I am hoping all this gets done because I really do love the concept of buying a car this way, and I realize that mistakes happen but they also need to be solved. The quicker this is solved the better. I am trying to stay in good spirits it is Christmas time and this was suppose to be my early Christmas present from my husband. I hope that I can find the perfect car to replace the car that I chose that couldn't be tagged or registered. Please follow up with this and make sure that it is completed. I am eating the cost of insurance for this Kia that I can't drive and I am not thrilled about that, just saying. BTW he did not call back and issue is still pending
Original Review: I purchased a car from Carvana in SC and over 60 days later, no tag, no registration, they claim to be waiting on the title to arrive. They promised a refund and to bring my trade-in back to me and have yet to do so. When I call they say it will be a few more days. Finally, I just asked for my 1st car payment back and the check for the sale of my car since they have my trade-in's title which I gave them, they agreed and said they would have it taken care of the next day now 2 days later nothing. They put me in touch with a supervisor who never answers the phone and never returns calls. She was texting me but has stopped doing that as well. Her last text was, "Give me 3-5 more days." I responded and no response from her in over 3 hours.
We appreciate your feedback. This has been the most stressful, ridiculous experience, and it's not even over yet. This crap show of a journey began October 17 when I got an offer for my trade in. It was at least $1,000 MORE than what another dealership offered, so I jumped on board immediately. I should've ran. First things first, communication with Carvana is a nightmare. I had to reschedule pickup multiple times (at least 3-4 different times), and at least twice was due to poor communication with Carvana. The first time, they called me 2 hours before my deadline to let me know I had documents that still needed to be submitted. 2 whole hours.
The second time, I had to reschedule pickup because they said they were "waiting on me to call to verify the 10 day payoff address". I NEVER got any sort of notification that they were waiting on me. No phone call, no notification on my dashboard, nothing. They expected me to know that they were waiting on me. ALSO, they had already asked for proof of the loan (pic of the check front and back), which I submitted. They couldn't give me an answer of why they let me go ahead and submit the loan when the 10 day payoff statement wasn't verified. Because of this, my bank had to pull strings to change the loan amount (and I had to pay additional fees to my bank) to the correct amount AFTER the 10 day payoff was finally verified. I then also had to pay a $40 "down-payment" to Carvana due to the interest on the trade-in that was still going while the process kept getting delayed.
Fast forward to pickup of my new car, everything was good until I went to drive away. As soon as I pressed on the brake, it was immediately known that the car needed brakes and rotors. The entire car shook and you could hear the grinding of metal on metal where everything was so worn down. It was HARDLY drivable, and braking when going over 30 mph was terrifying. They should NOT have sold anyone a car that had brakes that terrible. I then began the process of returning that vehicle the same night that I got it. They will tell you that they will overnight the loan check back to your bank, but that "overnight" process lasts 3-5 business days, not including weekends.
I finally got into the new car that I am still in now (and I LOVE it!), but realized the next day after I picked it up that they gave me the wrong temporary registration (& temp tag), so I then had to make my 3rd trip to the vending machine to pickup the correct registration and temp tag. Not a big deal, but highly inconvenient. And once more fast forward to now. The trade in payoff check was sent to the wrong address, in a whole different state. Now Carvana is EXTREMELY particular in the sense that they insist on an overnight address being on the 10 day payoff statement, and it can't be a PO Box. But apparently that confused them so much they decided to send it to the wrong address to some other random bank in Pennsylvania. This caused me to make ANOTHER car payment that I shouldn't have had to make because CARVANA messed up.
Moral of the story, just don't do it. Save yourself the intense stress and exhaustion and just go to a "normal" dealership. Angry doesn't even begin to describe what I feel towards Carvana, and I can almost guarantee you they will not do anything to right all of their wrongs, they will simply place the blame somewhere else.
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us, as we are always looking for ways to improve. He was very professional and courteous and I truly appreciated that. I have officially had the car for a week and it everything has been great with my car. Carvana was recommended to me by a couple of people so I decided to try. When I wrote details of my trade in, it was clear my car had a Check Engine Light on and no one said it could be an issue. Until delivery day when the driver told me they can’t take the car with a CE Light. So delivery was delayed until I could get it fixed.
A week later the car I chose was delivered, and I got to drive it maybe 3 miles before it had a major mechanical failure and broke down. I took it to the shop recommended by SilverRock where it has sat for 3 weeks unrepaired. By week 2 (and asking for extensions on the 7 day guarantee because I never got to really drive the car), I asked Carvana for a return of the new car and to get my old car back.
I originally told I’d get it back last Friday, then last Saturday. Now no one knows when the return can happen. Through all this I have had no personal car to drive since Nov 8 and have had to resort to Ride Share and Rental Cars to get to work. I understand that this may not be a typical experience, but this should never happen (and the car I chose should have never been listed with the issues it has).

Everything was going well, we received the car on time and was clean outside and inside also working well. After we received the car we took it for inspection, they found a dead rat and a nest inside the AC cabin filter. They cleaned it and they charged us $418. We talked to 3 advocates over chat to get that reimbursed and they all said to contact Silver Rock. Silver Rock said it's not a mechanical issue, so they are not responsible. One advocate only offered $100 but that is not what we had to pay. We are paying for something that Carvana should have checked. They have this 150 point inspection but they missed the rat and now they don't want to be responsible for that. I don't feel is fair for us to pay for something that is not our responsibility. We have proof with pictures and receipt. We would like to get it reimbursed, we are very disappointed. If it wasn't for their denial in reimbursing this, I would have given them 5 stars.

I originally purchased a vehicle through Carvana and planned to trade in my current car with them. The new vehicle was set to be delivered and I was later informed it would be delayed for two weeks, with no explanation. When I called to inquire, I learned the car had mechanical issues and that I could either wait for repairs or I could find a new vehicle. So, I take the time yet again to find a new vehicle to purchase, go through the entire purchase process, and finally have it scheduled to be delivered two weeks later, which was this morning. At no point during this process was I ever informed that the the other individual on the title would have to be present for the vehicle delivery, after they had asked for a photo of his ID and expressed no issue with anything when this information was shared and submitted.
I get a call 30 minutes before delivery to ask if that individual would be present for delivery, to which I told them no and asked why. They proceed to tell me that he would have to be present per California law, and that someone should have notified me of this already. I informed him this was not possible as the individual is in another state, to which he replied a solution would be to fly this person out here so I could have the car delivered. He offered one other solution of mailing the title, having it signed, having it mailed back, then going to the DMV to have his name removed, but informed me this typically takes two weeks and that after two weeks my Carvana order would be cancelled. I specifically asked that my order not yet be cancelled so I could look into finding a solution.
I log in a few hours later to find that my order has been completely cancelled without any notification from Carvana. I am frustrated by the lack of communication and business practices I have faced over the last nearly month of dealing with this entire process.

If you want to wait a month for your vehicle and face SEVEN delays with little to NO information as to why there are delays, then order from Carvana. After spending a number of hours buying my husband's vehicle at the dealership, I said to myself, I really want to save time and just buy from home. It'll be a lot less stressful. YEAH RIGHT. Every time my car delivery was delayed, all I got was "A logistical delay". There were NO details to actually explain WHERE my car was, or when I was going to receive it. There are a number of factors that impact their delay and THEY JUST DON'T CARE. They'll move your delivery date as many times as they want, and only offer a "Sorry, we can't guarantee a delivery date".
With every single delay, you have to move your insurance coverage date on the vehicle, make sure you can move your schedule to be home on the new date/time, ask for forgiveness to keep borrowing your MIL's car because they CAN'T give you any money towards a rental car, AND if you loaned money, your bank will be charging interest on the loan since inception. The loan has to be in place before Carvana will even schedule delivery. So I waited an ENTIRE MONTH for delivery and paid an entire month of interest to my bank lender on a vehicle that I didn't even have in my possession. Oh, but Carvana offered me $150 via check to be mailed AFTER registration was completed (after you've accepted the vehicle).
I finally got my car delivered and it had 250 miles more on it than advertised. Ummm... NOBODY at any number I called could explain how these miles were put on the car. NOBODY CARED. That's a few hours of someone driving the car that nobody could explain. What you just lost the car for a few hours? NO TRANSPARENCY. I was hung up on multiple times by Carvana during this experience, emails not returned.. They just don't give a crap about you. So go spend a day at the dealership and walk away with your car, and just be done. Suffer for a few hours instead of weeks and walk away with a car at a dealership. STAY AWAY FROM CARVANA.

That's one sale they just lost, I'll go to a local dealer rather drive an hour and a half to the nearest Carvana outlet. Disclosure upfront would have kept me from wasting time on their website.

I had heard good things about Carvana. My experience did not match what I had heard. My car delivery was delayed 4 times. The first two times were due to them requesting more information after completing all information. The first time they gave me 2 hours to complete it and I was on the road...this delayed my delivery by 2 days. The next time they gave me 5 minutes to fill in requested information. I was online when the request came through and was in the chat room with them to complete the info but the 5 minutes expired and they delayed me again 3 days.
It was finally time for my delivery and I got a notice at 8:00 am the day of delivery that it was delayed another 3 days. Delivery was then scheduled for 4:00 on a Thursday. I called them at 4:30 and was told it would not be delivered that day but I could go to their office to pick it up. Had I not called what would have happened. From the very first login online to when I picked up the car at their office I never once was called by a live person to address any of the issues. The price was right but I doubt I would use them again due to the impersonal nature, multiple delays experience and overall frustrating process.
We just finished purchasing our first vehicle through Carvana. Overall the experience was ok, but not great. The vehicle has some very obvious cosmetic issues that were not shown in the photos of the vehicle such as stains on the headliner. (the inspection report listed the headliner condition as 'Passed') We were not able to see the headliner condition until we were actually sitting in the car at delivery. There is also a large crack in the driver seat synthetic leather. The crack was not highlighted in the photos and we didn't notice it until after having committing to buy the vehicle. (the inspection report listed the seat upholstery as 'Passed')
We decided to move forward with the sale anyway, but it is going to cost us $250 to replace the seat cover and hopefully a good detailing will take care of the headliner but that will be another $100+ out of pocket that we had not expected. I'll also say that we were underwhelmed by the overall cleanliness of the vehicle - once again, we will get it detailed which I don't think we should have to do but here we are. Lastly, we were under the impression that the vehicle would be delivered with a full tank of gas, but it only had a little over 1/4 of a tank. All in all, I think we will pass on using Carvana again, and I doubt we will recommend the experience to others.
The actual buying process was fine for the most part. We self financed the vehicle, so no issues there. The delivery went well except that we didn't get much of a heads up on when the driver was going to arrive until about 30 minutes before he got there. We were also not able to track the delivery on the app. Since taking delivery of the vehicle, the Apple Car Play function seems to be going haywire from time to time so we will need to get that sorted out via the warranty process. Hopefully that will go smoothly, but I am not happy that we are having to deal with that at all.

I purchased a car from Carvana In August. They had the wrong address so I had to do all my paperwork over. They put the wrong information on the Odometer. Now they want me to go to FedEx to send another Odometer form to them. Then they want to me sign ANOTHER power of Attorney and get online to notarize it. Then not long after having the car. The carpet comes up from under the side of the car and the glove compartment. Where you can see all the gray matter and the metal in the car. They tell me they cannot fix it and don't get their warranty with Silver Rock who say it's not covered. So I just got the car, they become a nuisance because they messed up and now they don't want to fix what they should. HORRIBLE COMPANY.

Except for a couple of really good customer service reps, most of them (and, I interacted with many) do NOT know what they are doing or what is needed. It was just horrible. My experience with Carvana, was horrible from start to finish, I bought a car that was in an accident, though they say they don't sell damaged cars that are in accidents, mine was! It was verified through a detail company. Customer service was disorganized & never could get my information correct? The follow-up was poor or there was none. Six months of headaches with this company. They delivered it late, dirty & it went downhill from there! I couldn't deal with this company any longer & tried to sell the vehicle back to them & once again they didn't follow-thru with what they needed to do & it actually created chaos with my finance company, Bridgecrest, which is their finance company.
After days of getting nowhere with them, I sold their vehicle to Honda, who made the process very easy for me. Bravo Honda Motor Company, you saved me, from this Sad Experience all around! In the end....because of Carvana, I also lost about $5000.00, in dealing with them, and many headaches along the way & mental distress beyond belief! DON'T GO THERE!

The concept of buying a used car on the internet is a good idea but I had a very frustrating experience. The vehicle I picked to purchase was not the vehicle I received. The photos don’t always match the description. I could not get anyone to listen to my concerns. I was forwarded to a resolution department and the supervisor sent me a rude email and then blocked me from any capability to respond. I was purchasing a Toyota Tacoma that according to the photo, description, and the CarFax report had 34,450 miles on it. The vehicle they delivered was not listed anywhere on the website and was dirty outside. Also it only had 10,300 miles on it.
Having talked to multiple customer service reps that could not explain the mess and being disrespected by the resolution team supervisor (along with communication ability being cut off by the team supervisor) I did some more research and was surprised at what I found. The first vehicle Carvana delivered was a Toyota Tacoma I wanted but with the low mileage should have cost $5000 more than the original one I had picked out. Then I read on the internet that upon delivery to the original Toyota dealership, some of them would put a $3000 package on a few vehicles called the “Predator” package the included an off road package with custom wheels and Goodyear all terrain tires. Then Carvana called me and asked if I wanted to pick another vehicle and I said that I would just take this one. Since I had 7 days to decide once I got it whether to keep it or not I figured I had nothing to lose but a lot to gain.
The first thing my wife and I did after it was delivered was to go over it for signs of damage since there was no proof the 150 point inspection was performed. One side had a few scratches but otherwise it was in great condition. Then I took it to my local Toyota dealer and they were able to find the history since the Carvana provided CarFax report was totally wrong except for the VIN number. The dealership put it in my name, verified the required periodic maintenance was performed, and when the next checkup was due. Also the Toyota warranty transferred over to me.
The good, the bad, and the ugly. The good was that I got a $46,000 vehicle for $39,400. The bad is customer service was oblivious to what they were selling and would not listen to my repeated attempts to tell them something was wrong on their website. The ugly was the resolution department supervisor is incompetent, rude, and almost cost Carvana a sell. My advice to a buyer is to do these things. Closely check the descriptions on as many vehicles in the model you want for add on packages, mileage price, etc. Something Carvana doesn’t tell you is that if you are referred to them by someone that purchased a vehicle and you purchase a vehicle, you get $500 off the price and the other person gets a check for $100.
If you purchase a vehicle from Carvana, you are buying it in Arizona. Their title and tag process is different than a lot of other states. I live in Georgia and 30 days is the tag process limit whereas Arizona is 90 days. The Georgia DMV since we called them looking for our tag is now going to charge Carvana a penalty and interest past 30 days. I called Carvana and they use a third party for vehicle registration and still think the drive out tag is ok.
Also when they deliver your vehicle be sure to check the windshield for dings and road induced damage because once they deliver your vehicle and leave, any windshield damage is on you (I suppose other road induced damage as well). They do not put any sort of protection on the vehicle during transport. I was lucky to come out way ahead and since I have the Toyota warranty I am going to cancel the extra warranties I put on the truck that had close to 35,000 miles that cost nearly $1800 that goes back onto my principal. The Carvana overall concept is good if you are like me and don’t like to deal with salespersons.

After my delivery date continued to be pushed back, I finally received my vehicle. I've now had it for just over 100 days, most of which it has spent in the driveway or the shop. Within the first 30 days my transmission failed. 4 days after getting it replaced I was stranded on the interstate with an engine problem. After taking it to the dealership when no one else could help, I was told that the vehicle had the most rust they'd ever seen on this model. The 150 point inspection must have missed this small detail. The vehicle also had been previously tuned, voiding any possibility of warranty covering it, and making it impossible for the dealership to help either. I now have a very nice looking, very expensive yard ornament. And since there is not a brick and mortar location near me, I can't seem to get anything done. Don't buy from Carvana.

Carvana has been super easy to work with and timely with all of their actions regarding purchase and delivery. We are very pleased with both purchases. Bear in mind I am one of those people that said I will never buy a vehicle on the internet - but after several days of going from used car lot to used car lot and being totally disappointed with the selection and terms, I can say, this may be the only way I purchase any vehicles in the future.
It was so unbelievably easy! Carvana has a great selection and lets you know up from if there are any cosmetic issues. There are NO mechanical issues, Carvana has that all taken care of prior to your purchase and backs it up with their included 100 day warranty, giving you peace of mind you will not get buying from any used car lot. I purchased my first vehicle with Carvana and I was nervous to do it online. Of course I love online buying and use Amazon all the time. Who has time to go to stores anymore. Hmmm, but a $30k car online... Well that made me a bit nervous. The one downside of Carvana is that if you don't know what you want you can't test drive. Well not completely true as you can do the 7 day test window but that still doesn't feel the same as turning in the keys and walking away. I didn't know exactly what I wanted so I still went to a couple local dealerships with my narrow list.
Once I knew which car I wanted then back to Carvana's website. They have a lot of inventory and the process went very smoothly. One piece of advice is to have all your paperwork when you are ready to pull the trigger as there is a clock to "hold your car". I did a trade in and recently moved so had to hunt for my trade in title. So while I am sure my car wouldn't have been immediately taken the "on the clock" did create some pressure. After a few paperwork follow-ups which were all easy to manage via email and their online tool I was able to easily secure the contract including my trade in.
There was a bit of pressure that you had to decide immediately whether to purchase the extended warranty. And when buying a used car sight unseen can add a bit of stress. However, I decided in for a penny, in for a pound and I wasn't going to add to the company's profits so I passed on the warranty. I grabbed an early schedule drop off and the representative arrived just on time. And the car was perfect. They do a great job making sure the car is clean and even threw in new carmats. There was ZERO hassle on the trade in. 7 days later and I'm all set and happy to know I have a few months warranty. I saved a ton by buying a used car. And overcome the fear of getting a used lemon by using Carvana. Whew, it works!!

We purchased a vehicle from Carvana in Oct 2022. We chose to get our own financing as their rates are very high even with excellent credit. The reps we dealt with pushed to have our loan closed and funds wired within 24 hrs of starting the process or you lose the appointment and potentially the vehicle. Our lender was extremely busy and it took us days to get an appointment to close the loan. As a result, our appointment was rescheduled numerous times and we had to go through the “buying process” twice. At this point we should have walked away but had been looking for this car for almost a year so decided to stick it out.
The car was finally delivered weeks later and two days after the 7 day return policy ended we started having problems. The brakes were squealing/grinding and when stopped at red lights, etc. We started to notice a sputter in the engine. This vehicle is a 2019 and has less than 35,000 miles. At 3 weeks from the date of delivery, the car would not start while we were away from home. The next day, same thing - we were stuck in the daycare parking lot for 45 min waiting for someone to jump the battery. The third day, same thing again and we found out the alternator needed replaced along with the battery now and the brakes were worn completely down.
We reported to Carvana right away and we’re told there was nothing that could be done as we were outside the 7 day window and sometimes cars break down. We are now stuck without a car, a limited warranty that covers none of the issues, and a company who refuses to address the fact they sold us a vehicle that was clearly not road safe.

During the 7 day trial period, we noticed issues with vibration/tires. Carvana's waranty company rejected the claim from their in-network mechanic garage. So, we initited a return of the vehicle and refund of our money. The earliest Carvana would accept the car back was two weeks from when we asked to return it - meaning they kept our $40,000 for TWO WEEKS and made us pay for insurance and assume liability for the car during this time. They absolutely refused to give us an earlier appointment or even try to squeeze us in between appointments. We had no car to drive and no money to search elsewhere. The personnel were HORRIBLE to deal with, offering no other solutions at all than wait two weeks. It was a nightmare and we will never ever buy from them again. I made the mistake of selecting my car on a Thursday, and the way Carvana works is that you have 48 hours to get paperwork completed, but since I was doing 3rd party financing I found out on Friday evening I needed a special form filled out. Well, naturally, my bank was closed over the weekend and I nearly lost the car I was purchasing because the 48-hour clock does not account for weekends and holidays! Fortunately I called them to get an extension. Carvana also requires more detailed insurance info than anyone else I've purchased with. A temporary proof of insurance is not enough. They need to get the binder page from the insurance company, which my insurance was surprised about. So they definitely made things challenging!
Then my pickup time was delayed three times, and I was needing a ride to the vending machine, so that was troublesome to reschedule my ride. Then, to top it off, the first two tokens I used at the vending machine didn't work! I love the selection and price at Carvana, but the hassle of not having a specific agent and rigid deadlines made this experience far from easy. My tips would be to check EVERY E-mail you get from them, and order your car on a Monday or Tuesday so you can meet their deadlines.

I was initially skeptical about buying a car from Carvana. I've bought and sold over a dozen cars in the last 30+ years and have always done it the "old fashioned" way through a private sale or dealership. After a friend told me about his excellent experience with Carvana I decided to browse the inventory and was surprised to see how easy it was to find precisely the vehicle I was looking for, configured precisely how I wanted it, and for a reasonable (and transparent) price. I decided to give it a try and purchased my 2021 Ford Bronco a few weeks ago.
The process was easy with excellent communication from Carvana and excellent customer service follow up by email, phone and text message. The process of insuring the car and paying for it was seamless and entirely digital with "no hassle" of any kind. The car arrived on a flatbed - spotlessly clean and right on time. It was already registered, had new plates and was even inspected - so I could literally "hop in" and I was finished with the "car buying" process entirely. My new car is fantastic - in perfect cosmetic and mechanical shape with precisely the features advertised.
While Carvana gives you the option of a "no questions asked 100% return" policy within 7 days of delivery of the car - I knew after the first day I wouldn't take them up on it (even though the delivery driver explained to me it was as easy as a "toll free phone call" to return the car for any reason - or no reason). I can say, without question, I will recommend Carvana to all my friends and family. When it comes time to sell this car or buy a new one - I'm a Carvana customer for life. I can't imagine buying a car any other way again. Five stars. No hesitation. THIS is the way to buy a car!

Prior to last night I was gonna give the whole process a 2, but the warranty division pushed the experience to at 3. The purchase was the easiest I've ever done. 15-20 min and the whole thing was complete. Very satisfied with that. 5 Star. I purchased my car on 19 Oct. My option for pickup was to pick up in Raleigh on 21 Oct or have it delivered on 22 Oct. I chose delivery. The evening of 21 Oct I received numerous texts and emails stating a transportation delay and that the first available day for pickup was 01 Nov. A week and a half later. I no longer had the option for a delivery. I thought, well that's a bit ridiculous having to wait an additional week and a half.
I called a number of times. Spoke to a number of customer service folks and they asked the Vending machine leadership if I could get it earlier because it was sitting there in Raleigh. Every one of the customer service folks came with the same answer about the process that Carvana uses and that they schedule people per vehicle and the soonest that I could be helped would be 1 Nov. Now I'm quite pissed. I was fine with waiting a few extra days but that was not this case and the Carvana leadership decided that I had to wait the week and a half. Big old fat "F" on this one Carvana. You could have easily slid me in there to get the vehicle. I know this because there were numerous people "working" at doing nothing when I went to pick it up on 1 Nov. If it's like that on 1 Nov, I'm sure it like that a lot of the time. Zero Stars, Y'all failed big time on this one.
So a week and a half goes by and I'm calmed down. I get a ride to the vending machine, see numerous people doing nothing as stated above, and proceed through the easiest document signing for a car I have ever been a part of. 5 or 6 e documents it was easy and your attendant was very polite. When we finished the documents, she stated that the "car is being detailed and I will go get it and put a temp tag on it." 5 stars, took about 5 min once I met with her.
So she brings the car around.... and this was the dirtiest car I think I have ever seen on a car lot. Looked like it was washed with mud water and grease. I looked at the attendant and she said "we'll that's it." I said to her "That's it?" At this point is when I decided that this well written review would be appropriate instead of explaining to the young lady who could not tell that the car was dirty that I was very dis-satisified with the cleanliness on top of the almost 2 week wait for a car sitting on the lot 40 miles from my house. First thing I did when I got home was wash the car and it revealed a beautiful car. Another big fat ZERO STARS.
My wife and I really wanted a nice Honda Accord Hybrid and since it cleaned up she convinced me to give it a chance since we had a 7 day return policy. Took it to my local mechanic. Had them do a balance of the tires and an over all inspection. Turns out the car is in fantastic shape, minus that the tires were as Firstone stated "Teardrop Shaped". A slight rotational vibration could be felt at 40-60MPH. I thought it was the balance. Turns out, the car had a set of dirt cheap ** tires. I had recently been texted by Silver Rock on how to file a claim so that's what I did, and they covered it.
It was a smooth process and was very happy with the service. Now the car is smooth and clean. We really like the car. 5 Star service Silver Rock. They even covered an alignment. So the big question how satisfied am I, I'm probably around a 2.5 to 3. Will I recommend to friends, I will with warnings. Will I buy again through Carvana, really depends on how much I want the vehicle. You guys could have done much better.

The 3 stars are mostly for the quick and straight forward sales and credit approval /application. The car's aesthetic "details" were many more than they'd showed in the pictures and the wash/refresh/detail that it supposedly received before I received it, was nonexistent. Car seats stained. Dents. Windows were all "soaped up" (streaks). But I can't forgive that they actually sell a car that has two(2) manufacturer recalls and they don't even care to fix those before putting the car on the market. To add insult to injury one of the recalls is a safety issue from the airbag deployment. Yes, they notified me that it had the recalls, but it doesn't add to my customer experience. No wonder this company is going down.

The car had a faulty rear axle assembly, which gave me several warning lights on the rough drive home, and a broken door that did not open from the inside. My mechanic says the entire rear axle assembly needs to be replaced. How did the Carvana inspection team not find and fix these issues?
The only reason I am not giving Carvana a 1 star review is because their insurance company, SilverRock, is so far covering all the repairs to the vehicle. The CarvanaCare extended warranty is also very expensive ($4,500 for a $14,000 vehicle in my case). I gladly opted out of it even now. If you do buy a car from Carvana, give it a thorough check before leaving the lot and get it inspected by another mechanic before your 7 day trial and limited warranty expire.

PLEASE, whatever you do PLEASE save yourself, your money, and your sanity - DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR THROUGH CARVANA. I purchased a 2013 VW Jetta in March 21, after just a couple of months, the car will no longer run up hills, stalls, shakes, and leaks gas. I have taken the car to 2 mechanics (within warranty range) and both have blatantly refused to work with Carvana's warranty company. I don't know how to get my car fixed, I'm desperate, Carvana customer service will not help me. They have taken my money and scammed me completely.

I recently purchased a car from Carvana. The overall process was super easy and convenient. Everything went without a hitch until delivery. I got a call two hours before delivery that they were not going to be able to make it as a driver had called off. I get that, so delivery was set for the next day. This worked out better anyone, as the weather was nicer. So this wasn't a big deal. However, when the vehicle was delivered, it was not clean. The outside had several dirty spots that took a little "elbow" grease to get off. The inside, had dust on the dash, several spots on the ceiling, crumbs in the cupholders and dried things on the arm rests, to just name a few.
I contacted them and I am going to be compensated, but it is not going to happen until after I committed to keeping the vehicle, and then it will still be 30 days. (If I had decided to not keep the car, I think compensation is still necessary as time/money was spent already) I was going to have it detailed but didn't want to wait around for an appointment, and to sit in someone else's dirt. I spent about 2 hours cleaning it myself, and then it looked great! Overall, I love my car! I wasn't going to let it being dirty keep me from purchasing it, but it definitely made the process a little less enjoyable.

Purchasing the vehicle from Carvana was so easy and carefree. Not having to deal with salesmen or haggling prices with them back and forth. The only problem we came across was receiving the registration in a timely manner. And we brought the vehicle to our mechanic to give it a once over to make sure there was nothing wrong with it mechanically. As buying it on the internet would create this worry. We found out the brake needed to be done. We got in touch with carvana and was able to set up an appointment to have them looked at with their preferred shop. The brakes would not be covered as they were half their life. Sorry but these brakes should of been fixed- updated prior to selling this vehicle online. Now we have to get the brakes replaced in a few months. Not fair to us at all! In my opinion. We are just buying the vehicle and it should of been handled prior to us purchasing this.

Carvana is great! I bought a 2018 Honda Accord and it arrived exactly as pictured with no driving issues. The car is used but looks new and drives smooth. My down payment and monthly payment were exactly what was they listed not a penny more. The experience was so good I decided to sell them my other car. I listed the car on KBB and got the estimate. I despise dealerships but decided to visit the 2 near me who offered to buy it. Both dealerships, Mac Haik Ford in Desoto and Family Toyota in Arlington, were horrible! Not only was I offered thousands of dollars less but had to go through all the wheeling and dealing that I hate at dealerships.
One guy even said, "If you give us a review I'll give you 250$ more dollars". What a jerk! I want what my car is worth, nothing more nothing less. I listed the car on Carvana to sell with all the information as KBB and got the same estimate minus a couple of hundred. Carvana had all the paperwork ready, picked the car up at the appointment time and my ACH went through the next day! No hassle, no problem! Thank you, Carvana. I will refer anyone I run across who needs to buy or sell a car to you. Hey Family Toyota guy, here's your review. lol

Easiest thing I've ever done! We decided to get down to 1 car, so my beloved Toyota had to go. We're moving in two weeks and I just couldn't see myself taking time to shop my car around. Carvana gave me a VERY acceptable offer and provided the offer with just a few clicks on the computer. It was SO easy and quick. Then Carvana gave me the option of picking up the car for a few bucks off the price. THAT was SO worth it. The gentleman, Marlan, who came out was the nicest, most helpful guy and informative about what I had to do next with the DMV. It was all wrapped up within 20 minutes. Selling to Carvana is the way to go!

My wife and I received online offers from Carvana for both of our cars that were on par with where our car were valued. There was no lowball offer and haggling. The appointment setup was very easy and we received our agreed-upon payment quickly. This was all great, but the best part was the service from Angie **, the Carvana Advocate who picked up our car. With our first car Angie showed up, was exceedingly pleasant, spoke about how much she loved doing her job (and meant it), and was professional and efficient.
With our second car, there was a scheduling issue that could have possibly resulted in us having to reschedule our appointment, but Angie heard we needed someone to come get our car and volunteered to come get our car at the end of a 12-hour shift. Again she was so kind, pleasant, and professional. She even brought some little presents for us and our kid to make up for the scheduling confusion regarding our appointment. It was awesome. We'd definitely use Carvana again.

I sold a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder with Carvana and the process couldn't have been more simple. The price they offered was well above competitors and was fair. I tried to sell the car personally and was getting limited interest. I looked into Carvana and the process was simple. After submitting a few documents, the truck showed up, loaded the Pathfinder up and away they went. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Not to mention I owed money on the vehicle and it was paid off in less than 7 days! A+++ experience overall. I highly recommend selling your vehicle through Carvana.

Ordered a car online with Carvana. The order/finance/purchase process was pretty straightforward and easy. Once the vehicle was delivered I inspected it and took it for a test drive and all seemed well. Shortly after this I took it for a drive to the store and 11 miles after I accepted delivery the check engine light turned on. After contacting all of their supported warranty places within an hour of me none of them would work on a diesel truck so I would have to pay a $200 deductible for repair on a vehicle I hadn't owned for a 1/2 hour at this point. I began the swap process for another vehicle which was scheduled and then pushed out by them due to "Transportation Delays". I decided I wasn't going to wait for their transportation delays and cancelled the swap.
This now resulted in my having to wait 2 business days for the approval for this, 5-10 business days for them to process the paperwork on it, another up to 14 days for them to pick up the vehicle from me, and another 5-10 business days to refund me my several thousand in down payment. And according to their terms I'm on the hook for $990 in delivery fees for a vehicle that I can't drive and worked correctly for less than a 1/2 hour. On top of this I'm expecting a 3-7 week process to get my money back while I can't purchase another vehicle as they have my down payment, and I can't drive the one they dropped off as it's broken.

So after hours of work to provide all the documents Carvana required, including a check from PNC for our autoloan, we had to start over. Found a second car. When trying to finalize the requirements, we were told Carvana does not work with PNC - despite the fact they approved the check from PNC the first go-round. So, weeks wasted, with no car. I wanted to sell my 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia and checked into a number of options (CarMax, CarGurus, etc.). Carvana made the best offer by far (~$6000) more than Carmax. The evaluation process was easy and straightforward. Accepting the offer simply required the uploading some papers and selecting a date for car pickup. Up to this point this was about as good as it gets and they were "Driving me Happy".
This is where it went a little sideways. On the day of pickup Carvana called and said they couldn't pick it up as they had too many cars to deliver and they come the next day. Ok, fine - that works okay. That afternoon I get a call from Carvana asking if I can do an earlier time on the following day. Sure, no problem. At 5:30am on the pickup day I get a text that they can't come at the earlier time and that some will reach out to me to confirm a pickup time. No one ever called. Like a lot of online companies it can be very hard to actually connect with a real person but I eventually was able to speak with someone and get the pick up confirmed. I've knocked off one star due to these issues.
The actual pickup was completely painless. It took about 10 minutes total. We signed some papers, gave us a check and then took the car. All in all it was a good experience that I would recommend to others and would use again myself.

When I sold my 2014 Jeep Patriot, getting a fair price and getting the deal done was more on Carvana's back than on mine! Loved the price I was offered, loved how smoothly things went. Just sold my 2016 Jeep Compass High Altitude, in 4 weeks Carvana's offer for my car lowered by over $3,000.00. Didn't get anywhere near what the car was worth coincidentally after I had already purchased a brand new 2022 model car, all of the work they used to send someone out to do, they now dump on the seller.
Not to mention being lied to by the video associate that if my loan is not paid off before they take another payment out of my bank account, Carvana will reimburse me, is WRONG is a LIE. It has been 5 days now, my bank has yet to be paid. Another payment was just taken out and when I did what I was told to do, call (Half Hour Wait) to be told I was given misinformation by the person who called me on the closing of my vehicle, and that I would have to wait for MY bank to receive the funds, then they have to realize they have been overpaid because a payment was made during the 10 day pay off period until they figure it out then I will be paid. Never will deal with Carvana again and I was a HUGE supporter of them a year ago! Going downhill fast!

I just purchased a beautiful Toyota Highlander from Carvana and it was the best car buying experience I've ever done. I will never go to a dealership to buy a car ever again. The price was very affordable and Carvana points out every little scratch or problem area on the car before you purchase it. The vehicle was delivered to my house in 3 days and free of charge. No sitting at the dealership office waiting for a miserable 4 or 5 hours to get approved, the process took a half hour. They let you test drive the vehicle when they deliver it and then give you 7 more days to change your mind. Absolutely genius way of buying a car.
I also got a 100 day warranty, all parts and labor 100% paid for by Carvana. My Highlander is a 2013 but literally looks brand new. Interior and exterior like brand new, no rust underneath. The CarFax report shows that it was well cared for during its lifetime, oil changed every 5,000 miles, etc. I highly recommend buying your next vehicle through Carvana. It was simply the easiest and best vehicle purchase I've ever made. I'm glad I ignored the naysayers because they obviously don't know what they're talking about.

They are the "Amazon" of car dealerships. You can find anything, in any trim level, year model, mileage, etc.
The delivery was smooth and easy and the delivery driver was very professional and friendly.
Aside from a few issues which I've detailed below, the vehicle I purchased was what I saw on the website. However, I think Carvana should definitely add a "Known Issues" section to every vehicle they sell, and really inspect their autos more carefully!
Cons:The website is somewhat misleading. On the listing page where you see all of the vehicles, many of them read "Free Shipping," but when you look at the details page it will read "$990 Shipping," or some other amount. It's easy to miss if you're not paying attention.
I initially started to purchase a Dodge crossover. All went well until the delivery day when I received a call from Carvana informing me that my delivery driver called off work that day; but that I could pick my vehicle up from the hub, which would've cost me money to take a rideshare. I later learned that, due to poor management locally, the delivery drivers were understaffed and overworked. Essentially, there were 4 drivers trying to do the work of 12!
After cancelling my initial vehicle I bought a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Overland which looked absolutely gorgeous in the pictures. When it arrived (two hours ahead of schedule, actually) I immediately noticed it was dirty, like it had been driven on a rainy day. I also noticed two spots of lime green paint on the leather driver seat! I can't imagine how it got there, but it definitely was NOT in the pictures on the website.
Dodge/Chrysler has a fairly common problem with their 8.4" Uconnect screens which causes the touchscreen layer to "de-laminate" creating a bubble. It looks like a poorly-installed screen protector but it's the factory screen. My Jeep has this issue but it was not listed anywhere on the website. My touchscreen still functions just fine but this issue can result in the screen being unusable, or even pushing buttons by itself!
During the initial purchase process on the website they required address verification, so I sent my most recent paystub and my lease agreement. At 11pm I received an email saying I had to provide a utility bill for more address verification, and it had to be provided by 4pm the following day or they would no longer hold my vehicle and someone else could buy it. Well, I don't receive utility bills in the mail because I pay everything online, and I couldn't explain it to any Carvana employee because no one works 24/7, and I work 7am to 3:30pm. So I basically had 0 time to sort this out. I raced home after work and sent a picture of a car loan invoice which they accepted, but it was a very annoying and stressful process.
Another problem I've noticed on the website, which I think hurts Carvana more than the consumer, is that the people who write the details about the vehicles aren't very accurate. You can look at two identical vehicles and one might list a VVT engine and the other doesn't; but they both come equipped with the same engine. Another example: the 2019 Jeep Cherokee has LED headlights, running lights and tail lights; but you wouldn't know it from reading Carvana's description. But that was an important feature for me.
Conclusion:What it comes down to is whether I would recommend Carvana to a friend, and I would absolutely; but I would give him a few pointers and things to watch out for.

Very happy with my Carvana experience. I did have a few hiccups purchasing the vehicle online as they do not have the capability of gifting it to someone else or having another family member pay for it. However, the customer service team stayed on top of this and helped me resolve this within 2 days. My delivery was on time and all my documents (license, insurance, banking info) were verified beforehand. The Carvana rep I spoke to over the phone mentioned I would need to register the car myself, however the Carvana rep (Micah) who delivered the car to me said that they would do it for me. He said they do the registration for everyone, that I would just need to get the license plates myself when I received my titling receipt. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The car was delivered with half a tank of gas, which I was told is policy. He told me about the warranty and 7-day return policy.
I took it for a test drive. The car was clean and had been recently detailed. I took the car to the shop the next day and was happy to have a good inspection. The mechanics thought it was a great purchase and mentioned there were no issues. Lemon Squad was difficult to schedule an appointment with for the installation of my front license plate bracket. After about a week, I was able to book a weekend morning appointment. However, the employee actually came and installed the bracket onto my car without making any effort to notify me, which I did not appreciate.
My registration was a little delayed, however I still received all my documents about 3 weeks before my temporary plate was set to expire. I got my title in the mail. With the title receipt, I received a letter with a local license office phone number and instructions to call them. They had a service to mail license plates to Carvana customers, allowing you to not have to make the physical trip to the DMV. After a week of calling them and leaving messages to no avail, I went to the DMV to get my plates myself. That was really the only inconvenience. All in all, I am happy with my car. I read other peoples' reviews involving issues with their purchases, delays in delivery and delays in registration and was wary about my purchase, but I am happy that I didn't have those issues! This was the easiest vehicle purchase I have made.

I was really hopeful considering the process started out really smooth. Here we are one week later and I literally am uploading documents 5-6x per day without anything being resolved. The app and dashboard on a desktop show different information. Yesterday I called and the CSR told me the car I ordered through True Car was not available any longer. I tried multiple time explaining that I had not ordered a car through True Car. I mentioned several times that typically when I call which has been daily for a week now the CSR has to have my email address.
Now, here we are 2 days before pick up and I am told the car is in Florida (I specifically searched for cars near my home in NC). The dashboard has accepted the date of pick up for 10/19. Each day until today underwriting has told me the main cause for delay was not having added the insurance. I was very clear that the CSR I spoke to yesterday was very clear that there was no need to add the car until time for pick up.
I wanted to share my experience since I for one was initially very excited. Although I noted Carvana was having financial issues I was still optimistic based on several reviews I read. We shall see how it turns out but I am pretty vested considering I have "worked" a lot this week trying to satisfy the issues. Lastly, the CSR today said this is not uncommon for documents to not upload or be rejected. I simply stated fine to reject if it is not the proper items however being told something different from person to person through the day is disheartening to say the least.

Purchased a vehicle to be delivered; it was delayed due to necessary repairs. Nevertheless, when it arrived, it didn't run properly. Canceled that order & selected a different vehicle - we explicitly told cust service that we had a cashier's check (their preferred method of payment) which was more than the cost of the vehicle; they said that was fine so I proceeded to sign all the paperwork, send in all verifications & confirm delivery date. The morning before the delivery, I happened to check the order & found that it had been cancelled with no warning to me & cust service could not tell me why. I redid the entire purchase & again verified everything - to get a phone call later advising that they cannot accept a cashier's check valued at more than the cost of the car & if I didn't get a new one before a certain timeframe, my already rescheduled delivery would be delayed. They could not tell me why I had previously been told it would be no problem.
Got new cashiers check & waited for delivery, which went smoothly. The delivery driver was the only positive experience of this; and the new vehicle has a leak when it rains, causing the headliner inside my vehicle to get wet/stained. Honestly, if I wasn't crunched for time, I would have cancelled again & gone to a dreaded dealership.

My husband and I recently purchased a car from Carvana and we love our car. I dropped one star only because of the problem we had was working with the Underwriters for proof of insurance. We uploaded a document my insurance company provided from them and our insurance cards over and over and over. It took me painfully over 8 hours with your chat people on one screen and my insurance company chat people on the other screen, the day after I ordered our car, to finally get the Underwriters to accept the proof of insurance my insurance company provided.
I came very close to cancelling the purchase because one of your chat people was rude, telling me to change insurance companies if Esurance (a div of Allstate) wouldn't provide what Carvana wanted them to provide. My insurance company asked me repeatedly to just have Carvana call them and the chat person refused. In the end, it all worked out and the bottom line is that we love our car. In fact, I created a video for my YouTube Channel, to tell others how much we love our car. Just wanted to share the link to my YouTube video review here in case there are others considering buying a car from Carvana.

By far, this has been one of the worst and most frustrating experiences of my life, and certainly the penultimate worst car buying opportunity I have had. This company is unreliable, untrustworthy, and unwilling to do anything to change those views. In ordering a vehicle, one would expect that that they would receive the vehicle in the condition for which they agreed to purchase the car. If the car is not in that condition, one would expect that the vehicle would be repaired accordingly and inspected before being delivered again, with some form of apology in the form of financial compensation or a discount for the time an inconvenience a near two- week delay would cause. However with this company it would appear that common sense is not so common.
I ordered a vehicle from this company in early October in a condition that was undamaged beside a few scratches. The car was supposed to arrive on the 13th, however, 2 hours prior to delivery I received a phone call that the vehicle had become damaged on their lot on their time and was not in a condition to be delivered. I was told that they were sorry for the trouble and would ensure to pay for a rental car for my inconvenience. This did not occur, for when calling the company, I was informed that that was no longer the policy. To quote them "delivery times were not guaranteed", and there was nothing they could do besides repair the vehicle to the pre-agreed upon condition. While frustrated, I agreed to wait for the two-week repair time in order to fix the vehicle, paying for a rental out of my own pocket.
The day before the second delivery (with less than 24 hours notice) I was informed that they had changed my delivery time to earlier in the day without consulting me. This created an issue with my employer and my work schedule. As such I tried to revert the time to what was agreed upon initially. Once again, the company told me it was not in their policy to do so. When I said that I would now have to take a half day off work to accommodate this given the short notice they provided me and asked if there was anything they could do to help me, I was told once again that there was nothing they could do besides provide me with a car that was "up to Carvana standards".
The irony of that statement rings in my ears as I currently write this review, for as I received the car, at the new, non-agreed upon time, I discovered that the damage I was told would be fixed was either not done, or done so poorly that it was ridiculous to consider it acceptable. The car was obviously not examined before having it delivered to me in any amount of detail. As such, I rejected the car as any sane and frustrated individual would do.
A short while later, upon receiving a call from their representative (whom, to their credit, was the utmost professional) I asked them to provide me with any reason as to why I should proceed with their company given the lack of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail this whole process has shown. Once again, I was provided with the answer of being able to ensure the car was up to "Carvana standards". I told their representative as frank as I tell you now, given the facts of the situation and their inability to provide anything of value to make the situation right, the company had lost my trust, my respect, and now my business. I received a car that was unreliable. The engine oil light came on within hours of taking delivery. The front-end shook very bad. This car should not be sold. I spoke with a mechanic who informed me that the car a 2015 Kia Optima is known for having engine oil problems and to return it immediately. The website boasts a lengthy check list. This is not the case!. I returned the car and purchased another, more expensive car. The delivery of this vehicle was delayed a week! This vehicle is not running correctly either. The entire ordeal was completely aggravating. I received numerous apologies over and over and that's it. There are much better options for price, finance and customer service. The website is slick and quick to get you sold then it's downhill fast, it's bait and switch.

I will leave this simple, Carvana buys a car and delivers to you. Yes, they fix most items, yes, they will let you return it in 7 days, but they put zero effort into any safety or mechanical check into this vehicle. If you want to buy someone else's problems and have your car sit at a dealership, then go for it. Otherwise run away. Carvana should be banned from all states not just a few.

On June 10th, 2022, I purchased from Carvana a previously owned 2013 BMW X5xDrive35i Sport Activity Sport Utility. As an inducement in the sales process, Carvana provides a "checklist" of items that have been inspected by their technicians. These items include brakes, mechanicals such as fluid pumps and oil pumps and various checks of items such as oil leaks. Carvana provides a 100 day warranty. On the 112th day, the fluid from the vehicle's windshield washer pump leaked out completely.
system would need replacement at a cost of $1,200. Most disturbingly, I was informed there was a pre-existing but not noticeable (without the car being on a lift) oil pan leak, which could only be repaired for $5,000.
I have contacted Carvana client advocates and been informed that I am (my words, not theirs) that I am out of luck because I did not purchase additional buyer's protection and was 22 days beyond the 100 days. I WOULD NEVER HAVE PURCHASED THS VEHICLE WITHOUT THE INSPECTION CHECKLIST (asample is attached) THAT TOLD ME NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS EXISTED. I was induced to enter into this purchase with an inspection checklist that was not accurate.

I was driving home from the dealership and noticed many issues. I called right away, then waited a week to go in for service to a Carvana authorized repair location (30 minutes) from my house. Clutch and brake issues, exterior flaws not noted by Carvana all the way to a cut exhaust pipe put back together with a hose clamp that failed!! How does a car pass a "150 point inspection" with a hose clamp holding the exhaust together?
After over $6K in repair work the car is still having issues. The car needed a new clutch, brakes and even the drive belts had to be replaced along with exhaust and bodywork. Still trying to figure out how it passed a rigorous 150 point inspection and needed brakes and belts, not to mention a whole new clutch assembly. They admitted and stated "a few items may have been overlooked, but we fixed them". I was denied a buyback by Carvana.
Fast forward a month as I am busy with work, I had to drive to LA for a few days and took the car as it had been sitting. On the way back yesterday I took the vehicle to CarMax Escondido as I passed by on my way home. I decided to get a trade offer to just be done with the car and move on. I was offered 4K for a car I bought for 19K just 5-6 months ago. I was completely taken back to how that was possible. Well, it turns out they ran an Autocheck report and it flagged for odometer rollback! This was not disclosed when I bought the car! Now I can't even trade this POS in.
Carvana today 10/21 is still declining wrongdoing and a buyback. They are stating they fixed the odometer issue per management and consider the matter handled. This is absurd and not acceptable. I would never have purchased a vehicle if this was made known to me at the time of purchase of odometer manipulation, as I would never be able to sell it for market value with this item in its history. I want a complete buyback and my money returned, this is completely inexcusable!

I just canceled the order because it was so stupid and ridiculous to be asked so many times for what I already gave them. I don't know if their employees can't read or do basic math, but they are not very good. I am not happy and would never recommend this website to purchase a car. I can barely put into words how HORRIBLE their customer service is. After my delivery date being pushed back THREE TIMES with little to no explanation (please note, the explanation will change depending on who you talk to) my car was delivered COVERED IN DOG HAIR. I don’t know what standards they have in regards to these vehicles but it is LOW. Now, I love my car and I was willing to forgive all the nonsense, but as I was pulling out of my garage, the garage staff stopped me and alerted me to the fact that my car was leaking oil. Come to find out, it was because the valve/gasket covering the oil filter at the bottom of my car WAS NEVER TIGHTENED. So since my delivery 2 weeks ago, a steady stream of oil has been leaking. Which in my opinion is DANGEROUS AND NEGLIGENT.
The best part is (and if you are still reading this God bless you and RUN from this company) when I called customer service, they told me that 1. Everyone in leadership was too busy to speak to me and 2. THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. I was told that my issue was a warranty issue and I needed to take it up with another company because they were not at fault. I have no idea how at this point Carvana is able to walk away with no accountability whatsoever. I am incredibly disappointed and after this car, I will never purchase or recommend them again.

Carvana is horrible. We decided to purchase a car from Carvana after an accident. We had a large insurance settlement and third party financing for the rest. We needed to submit copies of the Cashier's Check, done. Copies of Insurance, done. Copies of Driver License, done. Credit Union Information, done. Set up a delivery date, done. We did everything they asked and were told "we are done". Then the car got sold to someone else and we had to restart the whole process. All Carvana would say is "we're sorry", "we apologize", and "sometimes this happens". However they did absolutely nothing to make it up to the customer. They don't care, they just say "sorry" and assume that makes it all better. It doesn't.

I will admit, the initial process of trading a car through Carvana was easy. The follow-through was painful, however, because Carvana doesn't seem to have enough employees to do the necessary work in a timely manner. Carvana also has a lot of very separate departments that use automated communications. When I would call in to customer service to ask where a document had been mailed, it would take hours to get the information from the registration department (if I got an answer at all). When I finally got the missing document in the mail, signed it, notarized it, and sent it back via email, a few days later I would get several emails and texts warning me that the document delay could result in late registration. This happened twice. Absolutely frustrating, absolutely unnecessary. Carvana, get your right hand and your left hand in the same room so they can talk to each other and make this process less stressful for your customers.

This allowed for me to complete the sale without needing to drive to the nearest Carvana center which would have proven difficult with needing my co-registrant present. The video appointment was quick and easy. My car was sold and I received the agreed upon price with no surprise adjustments. The stressful thing was that my car was sold Friday afternoon. Banks don't operate over the weekend so while my car was picked up on Friday, I did not receive payment until the following Monday. I scheduled several appointments for the exchange only to be told my vehicle was at the hub and it would be another week before they could return it. After they missed 2 appointments they finally revealed they'd already sold my vehicle and they were really sorry. Sorry doesn't make me whole. Now I'm carless and not willing to accept their offer of the trade value for the vehicle. I have to incur additional costs, I've been inconvenienced for nearly a month, and the blatant breach of contract seems to be readily acceptable by Carvana.
Each conversation I had with Carvana I asked repeatedly if they could confirm the return of my vehicle to which they answered in the affirmative each time until it could no longer be put off. They had no choice but to tell me my vehicle was sold but only after I pressured them to give me a solid delivery date. This company is getting away with whatever they like since it appears no one is challenging them. Carvana has a smart concept for buying a car these days. The days of sitting at the dealership waiting all day I thought were over. I spent hours picking out the perfect car that checked all my boxes. Monday morning came and they couldn't verify my employment due to their computers were down. Little did I know that was just the beginning of the emotional roller coaster Carvana puts you through. I called Carvana daily to make sure they had everything they needed for delivery. The website and the app say different things so you never know. I signed my contract at least 7 times. After receiving over 6 emails saying how excited I must be for my car to be delivered tomorrow, they were counting the minutes till my new car arrives. To wake up 3 hours before delivery to see a message that said: "We have pushed back the delivery of your car for a week due to the car didn't pass inspection". That happened 2 more times with 2 different cars.
I said I'm going to try this one more time. I picked a car and finally got the delivery. The car was empty, I had no high beam lights, and there is no spare tire in the truck. I have been emailed and received a text from Carvana telling me there were some missing signatures for my registration and that I had to sign papers right now. The advocate I talked to after receiving many conflicting emails and text messages said Carvana Fed Ex me some papers to sign. I had 24 hours to get them signed and notarized. The advocate 10 minutes later said that was his mistake and that was incorrect information.
I still don't know if I will get my registration and tag due to one knows what papers I need to sign. I've had so many emails and texts saying very different information. I've called Carvana every day for almost 3 weeks now to keep this purchase on track the best I could. I feel If I had all these problems and only hit the high points others are having similar experiences. I tell Carvana when I talk to them daily they need to tighten up.

I checked with Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds to get the value range of my vehicle before getting any quotes. I wasn't going to waste time with car dealerships because of the games they play and always trying to low ball the customer. Carmax was the first quote I received but they surprisingly gave me a price that was at the low end of the value range. I received another online quote that was even worse. So, I decided to give Carvana a shot. I answered all their questions honestly and they came back with a quote that was $4,000 higher than Carmax. I was a little nervous about the large discrepancy, so I began reading the posted reviews on their website that had to do with selling cars to them. I felt better after reading the reviews and started the selling process.
I ended up having to upload pictures of a few documents, deciding on a pickup date and whether I wanted a paper check or direct deposit. I decided on a paper check since I didn't feel comfortable releasing my vehicle without having money in hand. The advocate (Kelly) called the morning of pickup to verify the time. He was very nice, introduced himself, took pictures of my vehicle, drove it down the street, and returned. He gave us the printed check for the quoted amount, had us sign a few documents and gave us copies. And that was it as we watched him load our vehicle on his truck. It was such an easy experience that I would not hesitate to use Carvana again to sell my vehicle.

So after speaking with someone we went on the site and chose another car with a delivery date of Wednesday at 5pm (2 days ago). At 3:45pm husband gets a notification the delivery was pushed to next Wednesday!! I freak out and go online and changed it to Thursday because it was open, call Carvana and the agent tells me the freaking keys are lost to my car!! I argued with her about the $990 shipping I paid for a car that still isn’t here.
I live in Detroit, where there are dealerships everywhere, is there a reason they can’t take the car to a ford dealership and get at least one key made!?!? No reason at all. Then they call my husband and tell him they found the keys and will deliver tomorrow, why can’t you deliver today? The original delivery time hasn’t even passed yet!! No we will bring tomorrow. Thursday comes and 3:30pm he gets a call that the keys were not correct and the delivery has been moved to next Thursday!!! I’m so fed up right now!!! See I need a car, I’m self employed and my vehicle was in an accident and was totaled, I had to return my rental because the claim was paid out. I have no vehicle. I trusted carvana to deliver not 1 but 2 vehicles on time and they have failed us. I fear now that the car will be a junker and waste even more of my time. The car buying process with Carvana is marketed as fast and as simple as purchasing through a vending machine when in fact it is much more time consuming in days and weeks and has more unknowns than buying from a dealer which is a several hour process. Took me over a month to work through misinformation, mistakes and unknowns. Even after receipt of the car the problems weren't over. The Carvana listing was misleading or and inaccurate in numerous aspects. Stated car was available in 2 days yet when I completed purchase it was held up on the other side of the country with some issue that Carvana would not disclose. Just told me they wanted to make sure the car was up to their standards. The listing stated all green on inspection and no problems disclosed on Carfax.
On receipt of car, headlamps had deep cracks and pits from rocks or other road debris. Went to a body shop that advised me the nose of the car was just repainted. Probably damaged from same rocks or debris that damaged headlamps. The headlamps are not disclosed in pictures or listing. When I finally get to a dealership I am advised that the entire headlamp assemblies must be replaced and the approx cost is $4000. Carvana passes concern to Silverrock and Silverrock denies claim without any research. Stated 2 keys yet on deliver told only 1 key and I would have the other in a week or two.
Six weeks later and no key and directed to their warranty provider. Warranty provider refers me to their vendor who doesn't pick up phone and eventually states key is on order with no promise of delivery. Dealer next door can have the very same key programmed and ready in two days. Carvana passes off the responsibility to Silverrock who then states they have already paid Key Express so I have to deal with them. Key Express doesn't pick up phone for me or Silverrock. Finally, I pick up my car and it was on the charger apparently all day. It was dark out so I was unable to inspect the vehicle clearly. Notice the next morning when I inspect in the daylight that the charging package (cable and adapter) are missing from the vehicle. I tried to find the location information with no luck so I called the Carvana number and they weren't able to call the location either. This is my second purchase this year. Overall, we're happy but there are little things that made it less than flawless. The purchase process is painless. Start to completion was 15 to 20 minutes. The trade in was easy and fair. If I paid attention to getting a insurance card with the NEW vin number differs than buying at a dealership. The cars were clean, one fueled up the second not so much. They need to have the detailer not to be so aggressive and leaving buffer scratches. Both black cars had fresh marks all over.
Now comes the heartache. The second car a 2016 Jeep Cherokee is an awesome vehicle. The tech who did the "150 point inspection" blew the basic brake inspection. Since the car came from NJ and the rotors were separated to the point the machined surface was gone. To be fair the process to take it in to be evaluated and repaired was effortless with SilverRock. Pepboys completed the work in 2 hours and I'm back on the road. There were "speed bumps" along the way but not unworkable. I come from dealerships and this process was easy and I enjoy both cars. Carvana is incompetent in every way, and this was the worst car buying experience I've ever had. They misinformed me and my 3rd party lienholder, so much that my out of state bank was extremely frustrated with Carvana themselves. I then went in circles with their title/registration department, which they also screwed up. I had to pull up my state's Department of Revenue website to correct them and show the proper vehicle title laws. My car delivery date then got pushed out because of a glitch on their website, so I had to escalate to get my original delivery date back.
Upon delivery of the vehicle, it was clearly not inspected and was in terrible condition. There was overspray and significant buffing marks across the entire vehicle. It's evident they tried to cover up a wreck and the body repairs were terrible. The rotors were rusted, and the brake pads were the incorrect size. The sunroof was also non-functional. Fortunately I had my own inspection done and that resulted in 12-15 warranty claims, some were approved some were not. Carvana's entire business model is based around convenience, and I spent 25-30 hours on the phone with them over the course of a few weeks. Some of their employees should be fired, and I will go back to purchasing private party in the future.

Updated on 10/15/2022: I am in the middle of a purchase and it has been the worst experience. It took me weeks to decide to use Carvana but some friends talked me into it because they had a good experience. My experience has been… Picked out the vehicle. Waited days to be approved from start to finish. Vehicle was supposed to be delivered last weekend but the check engine light came on so it was supposed to come today. Received a text from the driver that he had been put on the wrong route for his first delivery so he was going to be late. Get another text from the driver stating that the warning hadn’t been fixed.
That is inexcusable. I have been waiting for over a week for the problem to be fixed. I was told to call customer service because the hub manager wouldn’t speak to me but could be heard in the background laughing. His name is Keegan. The driver's name is Bobby. They both thought it was funny that my car wasn’t being delivered. I called the number I was given and went through a huge runaround about the hub is busy. I don’t care. You promised a car two weeks ago and now I have to wait longer because someone forgot to put it on a list to be fixed. I am now without a car. All they can do is call me on Monday. How am I supposed to get to work? These people are the worst. I will be reaching out to the BBB the state prosecutor and this site.
Original: My vehicle was supposed to be delivered this morning. They had me get insurance for the day the was supposed to be delivered. I got a call from Carvana stating that a light came on and it wouldn’t be delivered. I was told change your start date for your insurance. I called the insurance and was told that since the start day had already started I couldn’t change the start date and that I would just lose the time. So here I sit with no vehicle that I have insurance on. I reached out to customer care and was told it will only be a week longer. Yep that sucks!

The Kia Sorento I purchased arrived with four immediately noticeable problems. I opted to keep it and have them all fixed under warranty, but they were so incredibly obvious that their whole multiple-point inspection is very suspect. A/C didn't work properly, backup cam not at all, driver-side speakers didn't work and the spare tire came with zero air in it. The customer service is pretty quick and friendly at Carvana but they aren't open on weekends. Their insurance carrier customer service is even quicker and also pretty good, but it has been a nightmare bouncing between their preferred service shop and the Kia dealership (who is not a preferred shop and needs an approved waiver to work on things that the preferred shop can't handle).
Also, they listed the color wrong on the title and even though I'm required to self register the car and pay the taxes myself, Carvana still charged me all that and will eventually issue a refund check, but it hasn't come yet and thus I'm out double what I should be for taxes until their check arrives. I loved the ease and the selection but the rest has been a massive hassle. I have been on the phone a lot. Oh, and their detailing of the interior was very lame. Lots of food bits etc. from the previous owner in deeper crevices.

Overall I will state that I am happy with the car I got & Carvana in general. But the old adage of "if something seems too good to be true, it probably is" applies somewhat here. I did a lot of online research before choosing a new vehicle. While my 2016 KIA Soul was not too old or in bad condition, this make/model has several "known engine issues" which make driving unsafe at times, plus it has been one of the most stolen vehicles around here, so I decided to trade it in. Carvana actually offered about $5000 *more* for my Soul than the local KIA dealership was offering, so of course I started searching the site for trade-ins, instead of dealing with the salespeople at the dealership.
My heart was set on a Jeep Renegade, but it had too many negative reviews online, so friends/family advised me to try Nissan. I really liked the Nissan Kicks models I was seeing, so I went with a 2021 model. It was delivered, but there was a problem. Someone had entered my KIA Soul as having a manual shift, which is silly b/c none of them have that. The delivery driver was nice & eventually got someone on the phone after 5pm. The manager offered to let me keep the deal -or- they would have to rewrite the contract and re-deliver. Since there was a possibility of more $, I said I'd have them re-deliver. This wasn't much of an inconvenience, but it was a strange mistake. There was confusing talk of "computer systems down" & "nobody can fix this right now" etc. That was a Tuesday, and I had it re-delivered on Saturday, with $200 extra for my KIA. (Not great, but I took it.)
In the meantime, the website performed badly. It asked no less than 3 times to upload my driver's license, when it was impossible for me to send a more clear picture. And when I got to the portion of the 'identity verification' questions, it just spun and spun, never giving me the questions, but then saying it was 'verified' and moving on to the next section. I should have ignored that, because I tried the online chat. That was a mistake. I talked to several agents who clearly didn't know what they were talking about. Obviously working in a call center farm. One of them assured me everything was ok, but another said 'since you failed the identity questions, you'll have to pay out-of-pocket for the car, or secure a 3rd party loan'. I said "No, I never GOT the questions, and you already gave me a trade-in quote and loan offer" and closed that chat.
Upon re-delivery, the car had a small chip in the windshield, directly below my field of vision, some scratches on the L doors that looks like something brushed by the car, and a chip through the paint on the back bumper. I didn't notice these before, and they were not detailed in the "thorough inspection" photos on the site. I sent these pictures in to the supposed Carvana insurance group within the first 7 days, and they said "no - these are within acceptable wear and tear, and you can contact your personal insurance for the windshield chip". So their "thorough inspection" missed these small things, and they refused to fix them, even though I could clearly see them with my naked eyes. I see other reviews on here where they fixed such things, but not mine, so just know that their "satisfaction guarantee" is completely random if you are going to buy a car from Carvana.
Also, the tires need immediate replacement. The treads are worn down and will be unsafe for winter. That was never mentioned by Carvana, but my trade-in was going to need new tires for winter as well, so I let that one go. I still am keeping the Nissan Kicks, but might reconsider the company next time due to the various hassles and disappointments. Overall moderately happy.

Wanted to sell a minivan locally that CarFAX said should be $15k retail sale and $9-10k trade-in. Went to first dealership who offered $7k max, saying there were 4 minor accidents on CarFAX...as if I couldn't buy the report and know myself (it's my car). There are 0. Next dealership offered $10k...top of trade-in value. Carvana offered $12600, roughly midpoint of trade-in and resell value within 5 minutes. Employee arrives at our house in a few days (scheduled pickup) with check in hand. Sale of car took < 10 minutes. I can't attest to the buying side, but selling...they absolutely nailed it.

I am in the midst of the absolute worst car-buying experience of my life with Carvana. 20 minutes prior to my vehicle being delivered, A rep called me and told me that the car hasn't passed NC inspection and also needs additional repairs, therefore my delivery would be delayed (again) another 10 days, then he started laughing at me. When I called and spoke with a rep, instead of allowing me to speak with a supervisor, she was recommending other vehicles, then swapped the car I purchased for one that was several thousand dollars more and added it to my profile.
Now, the car I purchased is apparently in limbo, all my signed contracts are deleted from my account and I still have yet to speak with a supervisor or manager (still waiting for a 24-48 hour callback). This is a nightmare that I cannot wake up from. I have officially insured and paid for a vehicle that I don't even have, not to mention my lost income for not having transportation. Carvana is the worst. And I don't see this situation improving whatsoever.

I chose to buy a car from Carvana because I had little time to shop around, knew exactly what I needed and when, and didn't already have a car to go drive around to dealerships and explore options. It seemed like it would save me time if not money to have a car delivered from Carvana after shopping online. I ended up having multiple issues with paperwork and insurance approval and needed to be on hold multiple times trying to get help with these issues, which would have been much easier to do with a smaller office who knew me rather than with a faceless corporation. I paid with cash and it took almost a week for Carvana to clear the payment even though the funds left my account immediately on payment. Ultimately the car I got is fine, but I think that I would have had a better experience without dealing with Carvana.

I purchased a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado with only a little over 24,000 miles on it. The truck is exactly what I was looking for. The only problem I've had so far is the radio doesn't work. It's like the antenna is not picking up. I can still play my phone through it but can't get radio signal. The truck wasn't quite as clean on the outside as I would have thought. Carvana is going to cover the repair of the radio but it was a little frustrating. I didn't try it before I left the lot so that's my fault. Overall, though, I'd recommend people using Carvana. My wife had used them in 2019 and we were happy then, too. So, yeah, I'd use Carvana again. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and my experience both online and in-person.

I purchased a 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia from Carvana. The car was listed as "Carvana Certified" through their 150-point inspection process. The very day I received the car, the oil maintenance and brake service reminder messages came on. Carvana offers a 7-day trial period, so I took the vehicle to my long-time trusted mechanic to check the vehicle and look for any major problems that would cause me to reject the vehicle. My mechanic stated that brake pad thickness on the front brakes were at 3-4mm and the rotors were pitted badly. I had my mechanic replace the pads and rotors and do an oil change, which cost me $1,000 out of pocket. Upon further inspection of the car, I found red overspray on the front black grills, tires and under the hood.
I also found orange peel and dust trapped under the paint. It was evident that this car was repainted and Carvana did not disclose that on the listing. I reported all of these things to Carvana within the 7-day period and requested reimbursement for the brakes and oil change, but told them I was willing to keep the vehicle. They pushed me off to their "warranty provider" SilverRock, who was quick to deny my claims. They told me that the overspray was "acceptable wear and tear." The oil and pads are explicitly excluded from the Carvana 100-day warranty. The bottom line is that Carvana delivered a car that was "Carvana Certified" through a 150-point inspection that needed an oil change and new brakes within the first 39 miles of service. Carvana did not stand by their certification and warranty.

I have yet to purchase a vehicle from Carvana but selling one to them I have. This was my first experience and I have to say it was so much easier and hassle-free compared to selling my vehicle to a dealership and dealing with them nickel and diming me. I went to their website and entered all of my vehicle information and was given an offer that had an expiration date. The offer was too good to be true but with the used car market the way it is the price was legit. Once accepting the offer the whole process became even easier. I set a pick up date and how I wanted to get paid which I chose ACH checking deposit.
The day of delivery the Carvana rep called me to let me know that he was running about an hour behind schedule as he was coming from 2 hours away which was the closest Carvana to me. No big deal and I was glad he called and he even picked me up a Bang energy drink as I told him I was still tired from working the night before. Kudos! He arrived, looked at the odometer to make sure the mileage I entered was correct, and took a couple of pictures. I then electronically signed a bill of sale as well as a printed copy and he took my keys and vehicle title from me and I simultaneously got a notification from Carvana that the transfer for my payment was initiated. 2 days layer the payment arrived in my bank account. Again if you've ever been to a dealership and tried to sell your car you'll know they try any and every way to lowball you off the price. Not the case here. Highly recommend Carvana!

Every time I speak with the customer service, they seem to take forever to review and respond regarding your case, but they are just as clueless. On top of that they are charging a SHIPPING FEE for a vehicle that I have to travel to pick up. I see why Illinois has a issue with Carvana.

The online process is seamless, user-friendly, and fast. We needed a car quickly and I am a single mother that works more than full time, so car shopping was not really an option. I looked through Carvana and the thing that sold me was how quick the process would be. We needed an additional car like yesterday! Ordered the perfect car, submitted docs, signed everything and was to have the car delivered the following Monday.
The Friday night before, I received a message that the car was moved not one, not two, but three weeks out! Why? I called customer care and they said because of needing a tire replacement. It takes 3 weeks to get a tire replacement? I requested to have the car delivered anyway and have it fixed locally, because I can easily get that job done in 2 hours. Negative. The entire point of this purchase was how quickly my daughter would be back on the road. Now we are waiting nearly 3 weeks *if* we don’t get delayed again. Upon further research, this appears to be a consistent issue with Carvana. Why offer delivery dates that you know you can not honor? Disappointed is an understatement. Not to mention the amount of funds that will be spent on rideshare services during that time.

This was a market vehicle that was originally being sold at Clay Cooley Mistubishi Arlington, TX. I submitted proof of insurance, pre-approval letter with Capital One and did everything I was asked to do. I went through all the steps. Delivery was scheduled for 9-30-2022. Then I received an email that the delivery date was not able to be met. So the delivery was changed to October 4th. I called on 9-30 to check the status and guess what, the vehicle is no longer in my account. Vehicle is now being sold for $26,822.
This is a scam they use when you purchase a vehicle on their website and it is being offered from another dealer. They will raise the price on you and not continue with the original offer. I spent countless of hours on the phone and was told there were errors in the system. All this time they were taking the vehicle off my profile so that they can raise the price again. I loved reading all the details on it and not being pushed around by a salesperson. It had exactly what we needed and we were able to get it delivered to our city in a timely manner. They provided easy to understand financing options, so far so good. The pickup was seamless. We were there for less than 5 minutes, signed our paperwork, then drove off with our new vehicle that was exactly how the description said. The only negative is that they rescheduled our pickup order twice. They didn't ask "when can you pickup," I would get a text 30 minutes before our pickup time saying I was rescheduled for the next day.
Their customer service is horrible. Rude people who really couldn't give a crap whether or not we bought a car from them. Honestly, if they only get better customer support, that would be a huge improvement. I wish I could give it a 5/5 because the only thing that went wrong was the rescheduling. But it was handled poorly. Everything else was great about the experience. We will use them again for future cars.

I bought a car through Carvana 6 years ago. The process was smooth, delivery was prompt, paperwork taken care of, registration on time. So smooth that I chose to buy through them again in August (2022). First problem was a delay in delivery, this can happen but it's expensive when you are renting a vehicle while waiting for the delivery. The main issue has been the registration. Carvana bakes the cost of registering the vehicle into the sale price, great in the sense that you don't have to do it avoiding trips to the BMV. However, it seems they frequently (yes, frequently according to the Facebook community discussing issues with Carvana) do not have the title in-hand for the vehicle they sold.
In my case they did not submit the paperwork to the state BMV for registration until 10 days after the temporary plate expired. They were unable to provide a second temporary plate so I have been unable to drive the car without the risk of a $160 ticket. I'm making loan payments and paying for insurance on a car I can't drive legally, and renting costs $45 a day. I am still expecting to have to wait for another 2 weeks for plates and registration to arrive. Customer service representatives are very pleasant, but the best they can do is provide a $500 check (which is nice, but doesn't come close to covering the costs associated with not driving the vehicle), and apologize a lot. One warning about customer service is that I had a couple of people promise to call me back with information and this did not happen.
Eventually I got one person who has been helpful as a contact, but he isn't really able to move anything along, so he can tell me what's happening but can't actually change anything. It seems like the amount of business has grown but the company has not grown to meet the business demands. What seems like a great thing 6 years ago has become just another company failing to meet the promises they make, honestly I'm waiting for the inevitable class-action suit to be filed. They'll DRIVE YOU UNHAPPY!!

I had never heard of this way to buy. So I am approaching the expiration of my 100 day warranty on October 4, 2022. On September 20, 2022 the car malfunctioned going down the highway saying my engine pressure was too low, I had just had the oil changed and car serviced on September 2, 2022.
Within seconds the vehicle shut down to neutral and I managed to get pulled over, it would not start again. A tow came out and repair shop informed my motor was seized and to repair this BMW would cost me a whopping $12,500.00. I am still paying the loan as I just bout the car in June! Wow! And Carvana will not honor the warranty as I’m 4,000 miles over already. So there you go folks! That’s my experience with Carvana in a nutshell. I wanted to share my recent experience. Our family van broke down so we needed a car as soon as possible because our other vehicle can only fit four out of six family members. I found a Nissan Pathfinder that I wanted to purchase on the Carvana website. I completed all the tasks including taking out a third party loan, acquiring insurance, account verification, signing all the documentation, and sending in scans of the check to be handed off at the time of vehicle pick up.
The website listed the Nissan Pathfinder in Kansas City, MO so I got a bus ticket to get down there from Ames Iowa. I had a call with Carvana and my bank and we discussed the timing of the check hand off, providing the image, and confirmed on the phone that the bank would 2-day mail me the check and that I would have the check at the time of the handoff. I uploaded the image of the check provided to me by the bank and thought that everything was set to go.
What followed was the worst customer experience I've ever had for the most inane reason possible. A message appeared on my account that they needed to confirm if I was handing the check at the time of pickup, or if it was being mailed. I tried to confirm this several times with the chat representative and didn't get an answer from the advocates. One advocate gave a different reason than was on the customer portal, which was that the check image wasn't clear enough. I got a message that the deadline had been extended to Monday 9/27 at 1:00 PM central and that the vehicle pickup date wouldn't be possible anymore after that and the vehicle would be released.
I tried calling into Carvana the following Sunday and had a long conversation with an advocate. The advocate was nice enough, but the message was that no matter what the circumstance was, if they didn't have a clear picture of the back of the check, the "underwriters" couldn't approve the purchase. The fact that they aren't providing financing and are just getting a check didn't matter.
The front of the check was clear, and an image was provided for the back though it was blurry. Considering that the amount and the recipient of funds is on the front, there is no reason I can think of to delay executing the purchase. Additionally, the representative should have noted that the check was in transit since we specifically talked about it and I didn't physically have the check. The representatives that asked for a new picture seemed to not understand that I can't take a picture of a check that is in the mail, and I can't make the check magically appear.
I offered to provide an image of the back as soon as possible but there was no flexibility. I also wasn't even given until the end of the day on 9/27, just until 11:00 ET, 1:00 CT. I offered to pay the cash amount from my checking account that had been verified ahead of time to keep the date but this was also rejected. I ultimately got the check in the mail at 3:00, missing the window by two hours. Also, it turns out the vehicle isn't actually in Kansas City which is part of the issue with logistics which feels like a misrepresentation to me.
This ruined my weekend and put my family in a bad position since we don't have another way to get around. I'm also out the cost of the ticket I purchased to make the one way trip. The "advocate" had absolutely no agency or ability to do anything except extend the window in which I could still purchase the vehicle for a later date. This is nice except for the fact that the back of the check has no information and could have easily been verified after I received the check in the mail rather than throwing everything into jeopardy. Also, as I explained I was traveling a long distance from another state and dealing with work scheduling so the date we requested was what we needed to work with.
There was no flexibility or sympathy for my circumstance even though the actual payment wasn't due for another week and I had been clear and communicative with the company representatives. I went to leave a review on the review section of the site but I can't even do that because you've restricted it to verified purchasers who leave an "honest review" which seems to imply they edit/exclude what they don't like. I also sent an email to their Carvana Advocate email address and got an automated response that it wasn't monitored which isn't exactly encouraging. In the end, I've purchased a vehicle elsewhere and I can safely say I will never consider another purchase with Carvana since they were willing to throw away a potential service for a ridiculous reason.

So my wife was to drive me the 75 miles to get there and the day before our scheduled appointment they canceled and put me off for a week claiming "the truck that my vehicle was on broke down." They agreed to provide an UBER. I had to call the morning of my pick up as it wasn't set up. I received a link to confirm my UBER and when I clicked it the ride had been canceled. I had to call again and was told it would be taken care of. At this writing... nothing. It will cost me $200 to UBER and I will never see that money back. I had a great experience with Carvana in Raleigh. The value for my trade-in was better than what most dealerships were offering and much closer to the blue book value. I needed a 4-door car so I started shopping and dealerships were adding almost 6k to the MSRP just because of the market. I found this year's model Altima with only 1500 miles on it for about 7k less than the dealership so I thought I'd take a chance on the 7 day return policy. The process was smooth, and uploading documents only took about 40 minutes of my time over a couple days of stepping through the process.
When I arrived in Raleigh to pick up my vehicle, I was only there for about 30 minutes before I was on my way home. I signed a few documents, the associate looked over my trade-in to verify it was as described and I did the same to the new car. My only issue was that they described a minor scratch/scuff that I can't even tell is there, which is great, however there were 2 other areas I noticed imperfections. 1 area was where they removed the dealers decal from the original seller on the trunk. It's not scratched, it's just miscolored if you catch it in the right light. The other area is it the front bumper has a gouge underneath where it probably scraped the tow bed during transport. but hey, for the price and the interior being immaculate and looking brand new, I feel like I got quite a deal and saved a ton of time and aggravation with Carvana.
I see some people talking about bad experiences and I'm sure a lot of that has not only to do with your Carvana location but also what you're buying. I bought the current year's model with very low mileage so how bad of shape could it really be in? if you're buying something that's 7-10 years old and over 60k miles, anything could fail or need replacing at that age and mileage so you have to keep that in mind and I wouldn't blame Carvana for that. I had an overall great experience. Nothing like going to a dealership. The trade value was the trade value and the final purchase price was the final purchase price. The Carvana associate didn't try to sell me add-ons, have me look at other, more expensive vehicles, or any other dealership nonsense. He just wanted to finalize the paperwork and make sure I was happy and I really am. The text message updates and email alerts to keep the process moving along were great. Great experience and I'd do it over again and would recommend to my family and friends as well.

I requested several offers from companies that would buy my car (Carvana, Vroom, Carmax, local dealer) and Carvana easily offered the most for my car. The questions to answer in order to get the offer were not too numerous, but offered good detail of the vehicle. The initial 2 weeks to redeem the offer was fair. I didn't upload the additional documents (title, driver's license, odometer) since I was still evaluating other options and when I did upload those documents Carvana revised their offer to be slightly lower. I called customer service and was able to get them to reinstate the original offer very quickly (my odometer reading was actually lower than what I put in initial request). I was able to schedule an at-home appointment to transfer the vehicle and title within 48 hours, which was surprisingly quick.
The 2 people that met me for the appointment were friendly and professional. They only did a cursory inspection of the vehicle and didn't even drive it (it was in good condition and drove fine regardless). I chose the physical check option which I very quickly deposited in my back without issue. Bottom line, if they offer you the most competitive price and your vehicle has nothing wrong with it then it should be a very smooth process.

Carvana was amazing in every way possible. I really did shop, select and purchase my vehicle from the comfort of my home. Everyone with whom I interacted was professional, knowledgeable and communicated very well. David was my delivery agent and he is particularly worthy of recognition. He kept me informed of his expected arrival time and arrived as promised. He thoroughly explained the process as we completed each of the steps. He walked us through the new vehicle and very carefully answered all of our questions with patience and professionalism. David’s personal honesty and integrity are outstanding.

Transaction of vehicles occurred on 9/24/22. Upon arrival my purchased 2016 Tiguan showed signs of wear and tear that were typical of most used cars, so I was not surprised to find unlisted scratches and nicks. However, upon closer inspection it became clear their "100 point inspection" had either outright ignored or somehow missed necessary fixes that were not reflected whatsoever in their advertisement.
- Missing optional installs that were advertised as present on the listing, including heavy duty VW Monster mats and trunk liner with matching CarGo blocks.
- Torn bumper part that is coming off the front of the vehicle. (plastic fixture, not metal)
- Broken AC fixtures (air blows but flow and direction is non-adjustable).
The assumption that all of these parts be present and be in working order influenced my decision to purchase this vehicle, in good faith, through Carvana's online car-buying service. I recently contacted customer service about the first bullet of missing parts and I was told due to their nature as optional installs they are not covered under warranty. The bumper and fan issue is apparently being handled by SilverRock, but I have no idea whether or when these will be fixed.
As of the day of purchase, to my knowledge, the vehicle is free of any major mechanical or cosmetic issues outside of the above. I am enjoying the car itself as it fits many of my needs, and the customer service up until this point has been responsive, albeit heavily scripted at times. I ideally would prefer to keep this car. However, I am ultimately disappointed by this example of Carvana's seemingly deceptive bait-and-switch-style business practices.
This does not leave a good impression for me when it comes to the attention paid to other potential issues the car may have that have not been previously spotted by their inspection team. Until Carvana manages to remedy these issues I cannot recommend their car buying service. I'm leaving a two-star only because the buying and delivery process was relatively smooth and painless, and most reps I worked with were very pleasant and patient.

I cannot speak to anyone else's experience, but ours was really easy. My 80 year-old mom realized she shouldn't be driving and decided to sell her car. It took a couple tries to provide all the correct documentation, but once we did and everything was approved, we made the appointment for the drop off. Mom signed her name 5 or 6 times, they handed her a check, and we walked out after 10 minutes. No one was more surprised than me at how simple and quick it was. If you are just looking to sell a car, I would recommend Carvana without reservation.

I purchased a vehicle from Carvana on June 30, 2022, with the intent to have them transfer my existing registration plate to my newly purchased vehicle. They provided me with a 90-day temp tag, but two days before my temporary registration was to expire, I had to call them, only to be informed that I'd have to wait 12 days before they could get me another temporary tag and in the meantime, I'd have to find another means of transportation? In other words, I couldn't drive my newly purchased vehicle because they were unable to register it in the 90 days. So when I asked them if they could speed up the process, the answer was simply no, when I asked why they didn't reach out to me 12 days earlier, they had no answer. Not a good way to run a business. Now here I am unable to drive my vehicle, which I need for work.

Absolutely the worst company I ever had to deal with in my existence. They made errors at every step of the way from offering "free delivery" (I had to drive an hour and a half to pick up the vehicle) to moving my date of pickup, to not providing instruction, to messing up my payment several times. They wasted countless hours of my time on the phone..telling me they had "logistical errors" with no further explanation. When I finally got the car the brakes were rotted, worn, and screeching/grinding..this was after I was assured that the car went through a Carvana inspection.
I called to receive a copy of the inspection report and was not surprised to find out that it never happened and was not attached to the file on the vehicle. These people are irresponsible liars on every level and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemies. They had the car I wanted for the price I wanted to pay..but what I saved in cash I paid full in frustration. If there was a 0 star option they would earn it. They don't drive you happy, they drive you mad. Avoid at all costs.
