I have been insured with AAA/MCIC for more than 10 years for both my vehicle and home insurance. However, over the last two years, I have noticed repeated premium increases based on mileage. This year, they entered incorrect mileage information into their system and significantly increased my premium. They added nearly 5,000 extra miles compared to the mileage I actually submitted.
I was very disappointed with how this situation was handled. When I contacted customer service to question the increase, I was told I needed to provide proof from an oil change to verify my mileage. This creates an unnecessary burden for long-term customers. After this experience, I can no longer recommend MCIC insurance. Customers should not have to deal with inaccurate mileage records and unfair premium increases.

My recent experience with AAA has been extremely disappointing. Their customer service has been unhelpful, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility for their own billing errors. AAA is charging me fees that I do not owe, and despite providing bank statements that match the payment receipts in my account, they continue to imply that I missed payments. Instead of resolving the issue, AAA keeps repeating the same incorrect information and refusing to acknowledge the proof I’ve already provided. No customer should have to fight this hard to correct a mistake that AAA clearly made. At this point, their lack of accountability and poor communication have completely damaged my trust in their services.

AAA is one of the most unreliable insurance companies I’ve ever dealt with. They canceled my policy without properly notifying me and then acted like it was somehow my fault. Their communication is terrible …Nobody calls back, nobody gives clear answers, and every representative says something different. Because of their negligence, they put me in a really bad situation that could have seriously affected me financially and legally. An insurance company should never leave customers blindsided like that. Completely unfair, unprofessional, and irresponsible. I would never trust AAA again.

Extremely frustrating experience with AAA roadside assistance. My vehicle was towed to the WRONG dealership despite me specifically requesting a Jeep dealership. This created delays, confusion, and additional stress while dealing with an ongoing electrical/parasitic battery drain issue on my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. AAA also replaced my main battery shortly before the actual electrical issue was identified, resulting in additional inconvenience and time without my vehicle. Thankfully, AAA did later approve a refund for the battery and reopened my roadside call count after I escalated the situation, which I do appreciate. However, the overall experience caused significant inconvenience, multiple breakdowns, lost time, and unnecessary stress. I strongly encourage better communication, proper tow verification, and more thorough troubleshooting procedures for newer vehicles with complex electrical systems.

I am extremely disappointed with AAA’s battery service and customer support. Last month, a technician came out to test my car battery and told me the battery was fine, even though my car had been hesitating to start ever since. Today, my car would not start at all. I am currently 8 months pregnant and was on my way to a doctor’s appointment when this happened. I called AAA again, and the technician tested the battery and said something was draining it. I explained that the battery is only 3 years old, still under warranty, and that I believed the battery itself was causing the issue. Despite this, they refused to replace it. The technician Fazel then told me I needed proof that the battery was purchased through AAA. While I stepped away to call customer service and get the information, he simply left without waiting or offering any further assistance.
As a loyal AAA member for 10 years, I found this treatment completely unacceptable. I called customer service, I was then told the warranty only covers manufacturer defects and that because the technician jumped the car and the battery temporarily charged, their system would not show it as a failed battery. Tony the manager advised me to go to AutoZone to have the battery tested independently. I did, and AutoZone confirmed that the battery is bad. I called AAA back with this information, and they still refused to replace the battery under warranty. What makes this even more frustrating is that customer service Manager Tony told me to go to AutoZone and have the battery tested independently. As an 8-month pregnant woman dealing with a disabled car, why would I be told to waste my time doing that if AAA still had no intention of honoring the warranty or replacing the battery, even after AutoZone confirmed the battery was bad?
What makes this even worse is that when I called back to provide Tony with the information she specifically asked me for, she then refused to take my call. I was told she was “busy” and that she would call me back, but that callback never happened. My mother even had to call because she was in disbelief over how poorly this situation was handled and the final outcome. I am disgusted by this entire experience and the lack of concern, professionalism, and customer care shown throughout this process.

On February 1 we were driving to Florida on Alabama US Highway 331 and had a flat tire. Called AAA roadside service, told them exactly where we were in front of a mailbox Address and an hour and a half later got a call from a driver sent out from 200 miles away in Montgomery asking "where are you". We told him and he said, "I can't come that far you'll have to call them back." We did. Went through the same problems with them figuring out where we were. Waited another hour and a half and it was now after dark.
Nobody showed and I ended up changing the tire myself on gravel by flashlight. I hurt my back during this and had to get PT. Called AAA more recently to complain and the best they would do was offer me $40 credit towards my next year's membership. This was abysmal service! We also have AAA auto, Home, and umbrella policies and calling them within the last couple months has resulted in terrible wait times compared to last year. Not happy!

This review is not about a branch this is about overall AAA. My biggest concern being when you need roadside assistance. This has happened to our family on multiple occasions at night, in the middle of the night. Just overall and not the best area. You cannot speak to someone they want to automate you they want to send you to a robot who wants to send you a link who wants to send you a text and then they want to give you to a virtual assistant and you have to fight and fight and fight until you get through to a human and then the first thing they representative says, (Are you in a safe place?).
Really please stop acting like you care because if you cared you wouldn't have to go through x amount of minutes struggling with an automated service who does not care if you're dead or alive and again it's not the representative's fault who actually answers. She said that quite usually people are pretty angry by the time they get to a human yes because AAA just said by our products but we don't really care if you're going to be safe or not because we don't have the time to answer.

Pay into a complete bundled package for vehicles and house. Paid into the policies for YEARS. Never had a claim other than a cracked windshield. Nothing on the house. We get a major hail and wind storm that tore shingles off the roof and dented metal fixtures. Filed a claim, and was denied. Shingles still in the driveway, and could hear pounding at a neighbor's house that were getting their roof replaced. How is it that a neighbor has damage, but mine doesn't? Even the adjuster agreed there was damage. It's the suits in the office that want to keep their money. Now I have to cough up $20k for a roof out of my pocket! AAA should change their name to FFF.

I am writing this review to hopefully let people know my frustration with AAA. I buy AAA for my mom every year for peace of mind that she has this service when traveling. Last week she broke down and called to be picked up and the towed to a dealer for repair. After 3 hours and no one showing up they were called again. The person on the other apologized for the long delay. She informed my mother that the message was never forwarded to the right channel to get her off the side of the road. They said they would expedite her call because of the mistake on their end. After another call no one shows up for another 3 hours. My 82-year-old mom sits on the side of the road for just over 3 hours till she is finally picked up.
I have called to voice my frustration, and they assured me a call back. I have now called back twice with no call back. I feel that they need to do something for her/me for the poor service we received. We certainly did not get the service that we paid for in my opinion. My insurance offers roadside assistance but felt I would go with what I though was a better option for mom. I was wrong!

Sadly, AAA doesn't know how to communicate. They declined my emergency need for service (flat tire) because they were using an old, expired AAA number after I moved out of state. This is a sham. AAA is not worth the amount of money they make you pay. We had a car break down and needed a tow to a repair shop. They towed it, but found out there was a recall for the repair. AAA would only tow it if we pay a $95 fee and $7 a mile after 5 miles because it’s a “re-tow”. That’s $382! A regular tow company will do it for $200. So I pay a plus membership fee and they wanted another $382 on top of that. Then when I called to cancel my membership, which is good until January, they refused to give me a refund. The customer service people were rude, as well.

Today, I learned my AAA membership was canceled back in March of 2026. I received no notification and only became aware by going to the AAA office in Glendale, CA to question why my AAA app signed out my account. The office was not able to assist me in resolving the matter but, informed me that my membership was canceled due to bad conduct. I regretfully took out an auto insurance policy through AAA in December of 2025. Because numerous mistakes were made by the agent, I issued a verbal complaint which is my right. In addition to that, I encountered an extremely unprofessional and extremely rude experience with two ** women. After speaking with the manager of the Burbank branch, a very nice ** Woman, all was clarified with my policy and automatic payments have been taken out of my account each month. We live in a age when complaining, especially when you're right is held against you.
There is an ongoing problem with ** employees of late. Just like the despicable ** police officer who made racists rants about AA and admitted how she purposely targeted ** people, this is the same scenario. These two young ** girls did not take kindly to having their misconduct pointed out so they no doubt saw to my membership being canceled. I spoke with my attorney about this because the actions of AAA were wrong and definitely wrong unwarranted and, I was never notified or given a chance to defend myself.
The damage that canceling my membership has done, as well as the negative position of my membership, legal actions can be taken. This matter needs to go public and now it will. This is an intended, calculated act towards me, initiated and conspired by two ** women. There needs to be consequences. I strongly encourage people to video tape all negative encounters they have while conducting business. AAA was once a reputable company but it has become one of the worst businesses around.

This experience goes far beyond one bad towing company. Companies like this are small operators that only continue because major brands like AAA continue giving them the opportunity to represent their name and service standards. The most disappointing part of this entire situation is not just the towing company’s behavior it is AAA’s willingness to partner with and rely on providers that operate with such poor judgment, lack of compassion, and complete disregard for customer safety.
My daughter is an authorized add-on member on my AAA account. Around 11 PM, while alone, she accidentally locked her keys inside her car and contacted AAA for assistance exactly what the membership is supposed to be for. When the driver arrived, they refused to help because I was not physically present. Had this been a tire change or jump start where she had access to the membership card, additional verification may have made sense. But the keys, identification, and access to everything were locked inside the vehicle. I personally called and asked if they could verify the account directly through AAA or over the phone. Instead of making any reasonable effort to help, they refused entirely and left my daughter stranded alone at night.
At that point, the responsibility shifts beyond the towing company and directly onto AAA. When you allow contractors like this to operate under your brand, their behavior becomes your responsibility. Customers are trusting AAA to send qualified, professional, and reasonable help during vulnerable situations. What we experienced was the complete opposite. AAA needs to seriously reevaluate the standards, oversight, and accountability of the companies representing them because this experience did not reflect safety, customer care, or common sense.

This service is a joke; they come out with a policy based on the day you schedule the service. I scheduled a towing service for 1pm 4/23/26 and when I got home at 4 pm, my car was not there. I called to find out and was told the request was never made, even though the customer service agent told me I was all set for my car to be towed. I called back to ask what happened, and they said they could not find the request in the system. I submitted another request on the same day, was given a time frame, but then called to check, only to be told it would be at a different time. I had to cancel because I couldn't wait any longer at night. The next morning, 1/24/26 I was told that since I wasn't with the car, it would take 24-48 hours to be picked up. What a shame—wasted two days and time. I had to pay for a taxi to go back to where my car was parked and drive it myself with brake issues since I needed to go to work as soon as possible.

Unfortunately they were the agent sent to unlock my car from AAA. In March 2026. They broke my window switch pressing the wrong button to unlock it, and then denied responsibility and AAA let them get away with it. I will have to report to the BBB and reviews and move on, with 300$ in damage to my car over a simple unlock service that I paid for. Timothy walter took my claim information, then accused me of lying that there was no way the damage could have happened the way I described it (which is not right because I could easily replicate it myself..) and then when I told him I needed to speak to a supervisor because this is very wrong, they told me they'd call me back and never did

I AM GIVING AAA a "ONE STAR" rating BECAUSE a "ZERO STAR" rating IS NOT AVAILABLE!!!! AAA will LIE TO YOU to get you to join!! I spent over an HOUR online and on the phone with a AAA rep researching whether AAA could provide SAME DAY battery replacement service AT MY CURRENT LOCATION if I joined today and paid an "Urgent Fee" to avoid the 48-hour waiting period otherwise. The rep suggested getting the AAA credit card to save money on membership and CASH BACKS, so I signed up for that as well but ONLY AFTER being GUARANTEED BY THE REP that I could get this service today. I applied for the credit card, purchased an annual membership from the rep, PAID THE $60 URGENT FEE, and was then passed to the Roadside Assistance section to schedule my service.
That agent proceeded to tell me we were not eligible and passed me back to a "Carolinas AAA" rep again. That rep then told me I was, in fact, NOT ELIGIBLE for this serivce due to the service being needed "out of their area" EVEN AFTER THE PREVIOUS REP GUARANTEED I COULD BEFORE PURCHASING THE MEMBERSHIP!! I was then passed to a "Resolution Specialist" where I was finally able to get that rep to CANCEL EVERYTHING I just spent the past hour doing with AAA. INTERESTING NOTE: Takes ONLY SECONDS to get a confirmation of new membership, but TAKES DAYS to get confirmation of CANCELLATION??!! SHADY, AT BEST!!!

She calls back within 5 mins and says, "I'm very sorry, I can't find anyone, you're gonna have to call back at 6 am. Wanted me to sit for 4 hours, couldn't find anyone on a Friday night to come give me a jump until 5 am. First time using AAA, and I got stuck for 3 hours. The shop could not get it running, they wanted to throw more parts into it. So I call AAA to tow it back home. AAA took the info and said, "The tow driver will call you with an update." I waited and waited. 2 hour later, I called AAA back. AAA said that the dispatcher canceled the tow because AAA called the shop, and said the shop could have fixed the vehicle, that's why AAA can't tow it back home. I had to fork up $340. I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life with AAA, and it is completely unacceptable for a company that people rely on in emergencies. My car broke down, and initially we believed it was a battery issue. AAA dispatched a third-party roadside technician who arrived after about 40 minutes. He was professional, courteous, and helpful, and we determined the issue was not the battery but that I needed a tow. Unfortunately, that is where everything went downhill. After calling AAA again to request a tow, I was told the wait time would be 60–90 minutes. I explained that I had already been waiting and asked if the service could be expedited—there was no urgency, no accommodation, and no real concern shown. I ended up waiting over 2 hours, and no tow truck arrived.
When I called back for an update, I was told my request had to be closed and restarted, which meant starting the entire process over again with another 60-minute wait. Again, I waited nearly 2 more hours, and still no tow truck. After calling yet again, I was told the driver was “nearby” and would arrive within 25 minutes. That never happened. Then, after more than 2.5 hours of waiting, I was given the towing company’s phone number—only to find out they had never even received a request from AAA for my vehicle.
At this point, I had been stranded for hours. A new request had to be submitted AGAIN, adding another 1–1.5 hours to the wait time. After 5 hours of being stranded, I asked to speak to a supervisor. Even then, I was simply told to wait another hour. In total, I was left stranded from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM—SIX HOURS—with no resolution, no accountability, and no sense of urgency from AAA. This was not just an inconvenience—this was complete disregard for my time, safety, and well-being. AAA is supposed to provide peace of mind in stressful situations, but instead, they created a nightmare.
The lack of coordination, repeated misinformation, and failure to follow through is beyond unprofessional—it is unacceptable. No customer should ever have to experience this level of neglect. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. AAA needs to seriously evaluate its towing dispatch system and customer service protocols, because this experience was a complete failure.

I DO NOT recommend AAA. Be sure to read my entire review & see what's going on currently with lawsuits against AAA. My husband & I canceled our policy w AAA, & didn't renew. After having their coverage for several years, & not needing to use it, when we had our first & 2nd incident, AAA failed miserably, repeatedly. November 2023, we broke down traveling out of state, in an isolated rural area that was just 15-20 minutes outside of Chapin/Columbia Sc. AAA, let us sit there in the middle of the woods over 6 hours in the dark. It was daylight for the first hour or so. We sat there so long, we had a nice couple stop & stay with us for over an hour & gave us their phone number in case AAA never showed up.
We had a few realllly sketchy people ride by slowly, 1 even turned around & came back by. I think they thought the car was empty, because when I turned on the headlights, they took off pretty quickly. It was a scary place to be with no one around, just a very dark woodsy area. We called AAA numerous times & just got excuses, then finally I was told that they were having trouble finding a tow company that they have contracts with to tow us. I told them I don't care who you have to get to tow us, they're obligated to our policy.
Finally hours later, a tow truck driver showed up & he told me that AAA doesn't usually use him because they don't want to pay his prices & they could have called him much sooner. But they didn't, they let us just sit longer there because they didn't want to pay more. So, we're towed to my mother in-laws in Chapin, no issues or damages, guy did a great job.
Fast forward a week later, I arranged for AAA to tow the car back to Nc Sunday at noon. Because we had an appointment Monday morning for the car at the mechanics. The tow truck driver didn't show up until 11pm, 11 hours after they were supposed to be there. And he damaged the lawn & the car doing it. We didn't get to NC till after 2am or so. We were going to use AAA to tow the car the next day, but we just didn't trust them to show up on time or show up at all. So we paid out of pocket for a 1 hour tow.
I called AAA to let them know I'm not renewing my policy & why. It was supposed to be renewed in January. I got an apology for the situation, too little too late. They knew they screwed up but didn't seem like it was a big deal. Well it was, & they offered us nothing but an apology. I suggest people shop around & read legit review site's like this 1, not Google or the companies own reviews, if they need to purchase roadside assistance, & check w your insurance company.
So far AAA is well below a 2 star rating on the more legitimate sites. They, like many companies have gone downhill. Not to mention there's at least 3 current class action lawsuits against AAA, 1 in NM for over 4 million. Another in CA, for overcharging customers potentially 1.5+ million during the pandemic. There's more, go online, the information is there. If you want to take your chances with AAA, don't be surprised when you need to use their services & they fail you miserably & damaged your car & property without caring. Worst services I've ever thrown away good money on. Never again. Not AAA. This happened Nov. 2023, & we've moved since this incident. I'm not sure if we still have the AAA paperwork or if it went in the shredder honestly. If I had it handy I would post a picture of it & I would get the "verified customer" label. I promise, hand to God, everything I have posted to be 100% truth.

I immediately contacted AAA & I was told to get an estimate which I did from Ford & was told that I needed to have my alternator replaced & something with a main fuse or fuses replaced, totaling $900.
After not hearing back from AAA for two days, I was finally told that they weren’t responsible for the damage to my vehicle. I was told that my alternator was bad & I guess my gauges stopped working because of the bad alternator as well. My van, gauges & alternator were fine before their technician placed the charger cables on the wrong battery post. The reason for the jump was because of the cold & because the vehicle had been sitting up unstarted for a few months. It’s terrible the way that these companies treat their customers. All I needed was a jump & it wound costing me $900. I will no longer be using AAA & this is a precautionary tale for anyone using their service.

I explicitly asked your rep Trinia if there were any additional fees — she confirmed there were none. Your third-party contractor Howard arrived and recommended an upgraded battery at $279, which I agreed to. After installation, I was handed a bill for $309 — including undisclosed shop fees, spray protector charges, and other add-ons.
When I disputed the difference, Howard threatened to remove the battery from my car over a $15 discrepancy on fees I was never told about. I offered to pay the agreed $279 plus tax — he refused. I had to call the police to stop him from opening my hood. To make matters worse, Howard asked me 'where is your husband — why isn't he dealing with this?' When I contacted AAA, I was essentially told to pay whatever the contractor demanded. AAA did not stand behind their quote. The fact that quotes are never provided in writing now makes perfect sense. Driver showed up and told me just like all other times he needed to take pictures of the car, before he towed it, I said fine. Only this time he told me that I was in the pictures. I said that is ok. He sent them in came back and said, "You're going to be mad at me." I asked him why what's up? He said, "They told me that I can't tow your car." I was in shock, I told him that is strange considering that this car has been towed three other times and the only thing different this time is me being in your pictures. I pay for AAA for in times of need, it seems they are happy to take my money and then refuse the service that I paid for. Please people beware and you might not want to be in the photo with the car that you are having towed.

They truly do not seem to care about time other than they created a service ticket and totally depend on a tow service dispatcher to dispatch a driver. We asked them to use a different service and basically just said they are doing everything they can. No urgency whatsoever. Probably be my last year be a member.

I have been an AAA member for 5 years before filing a claim on 3/8/26. I ran over something in the city of Alcoa, TN, with my car that severely punctured my right front tire and caused instant deflation to the point I was driving on the rim. I called AAA to have my car towed, and the customer service rep said he would submit the claim but couldn't tell me how soon the towing company would arrive. I was stranded far from home, so I called a towing service myself; they arrived in 20 minutes and towed my car to my preferred destination. The tow truck driver said he no longer does work for AAA because they don't pay well. Lesson learned! I'm thankful I called the towing company directly and cancelled my AAA membership. My insurance company will reimburse me for the towing fees. Don't waste your money with AAA!

Fortunately we stayed in a restaurant that closes around 12 pm. We cancelled that call and had a friend pick us up.

I ordered roadside assistance online. Explained my issue. Then I even called the tow truck company that was supposed to come and explained my issue to them as well to make sure they were able to help me. The guy told me absolutely no worries. We’ll figure it out then he sent a guy without a tow truck, even though he knew I needed one then that guy called dispatch and all of a sudden they’re unable to help me with my issue so what’s the point of having AAA? To me, it’s not worth the money. They couldn’t tell me because I had my kids with me even though they’re older children not in a car seat.
So what do you do with people that breakdown and need their car towed with children not even that they couldn’t do anything for me, but I called to confirm that they could and they said that they could even after I explained what I needed and that I had children with me so they had me wait here for a driver that couldn’t help me either way and then wait here again while that driver called to confirm that they couldn’t help me with two children for no reason. Total waste of time over some miscommunication.

We called to dispute and AAA put us on hold and came back to tell us that the tow company said they towed the car 14 miles so they would reimburse us do the 3 miles extra that we were charged. Both companies clearly lied and will be getting terrible reviewed because of this. Will be sure to not recommend AAA to anyone.

I have never had such terrible service in my 13 years of being a loyal member! The first flatbed driver said we needed a different type of tow truck as we couldn't put the car into neutral as the key was broken. He said we needed a regular rear lifting truck. So we had to cancel that truck and request the right kind. The second tow truck driver they sent showed up with the same flatbed, same tow company too, put my broken key (the reason it was being towed to the dealership for replacement) inside the ignition and got it stuck.
My $160 new key replacement turned into a repair costing me over $700 to have the ignition replaced. And then they denied my claim because the driver lied and said he didn't do it. Why on earth would we have ordered the 2nd correct tow truck?! They have been awful to deal with. The manager Joe was going to "work" on it and call me back. I'm still waiting for that call. It's been 2 months!!! Unreal.... I just regret that there is no option for a 0 star review.

As a long time member of AAA, I am absolutely dumbfounded that we are in 2026 and I’m required to wait MULTIPLE HOURS for service just to show identification. That’s absolutely ridiculous and should be a crime. As a near 4 billion dollar company that’s been around over a century you’d think some common sense would be to have the ability to upload your license and answer a few security questions to allow drivers to leave the vehicle unattended. People have things to do other than wait over 4 hours for a 10 minute car tow. The company can afford to figure out something convenient for your members. This has once again been a very poor AAA experience as all are. I know I’m not alone on this issue. This is a major problem and needs to be addressed immediately.

I have been a AAA Plus member for over 25 years, and today’s experience has been one of the most frustrating service situations I’ve ever dealt with. I called AAA around 9:00 AM this morning because my vehicle needed to be towed. The earliest tow they scheduled was 12:35 PM, which was already a long wait, but I accepted it because I’ve trusted AAA for decades. Since then, I’ve called and sent several texts trying to get an update. Every response has been AI or automated messaging, and there has been no real person available to speak with, even though I’m stranded and unable to go anywhere.
After waiting all this time, I just received another update saying the tow has been delayed yet another hour. This is exactly when customers need real human support, not automated responses. When your vehicle breaks down, you’re stuck wherever you are — unable to get to work, run errands, or even get home. Sitting there for hours while only receiving robotic responses makes you feel like nobody actually cares about helping you.
After 25 years of loyalty, this experience has been extremely disappointing. AAA used to be known for dependable roadside assistance and customer care, but today it feels like the focus has shifted toward automation rather than helping members when they actually need it. After 25 years as a AAA Plus member, this experience has me seriously reconsidering renewing my membership and recommending AAA to others. Right now, I’m still waiting. Very disappointed. If you want, I can also show you one line that tends to make reviews like this rank higher and get more attention on Google and review sites.

This year I was paying for three memberships. I was the only one to use a tow. 2 weeks later my vehicle was still at the shop not able to be repaired. I was trying to take it somewhere else and they refuse to tow it. The woman that worked for the wrecker service pretty much was giving me the third degree asking me all kinds of questions. Why was I towing my vehicle from the shop that I had it towed to two weeks ago. And why was I towing it to this other place. And was I trying to use it for a trade-in because they don't do tows if you're doing trade-ins. And I already received a tow for this one breakdown and they don't do multiple tows for one breakdown.
And I told her it's none of her business and then she proceeded to tell me she was going to call the service center where my vehicle was at and find out from them. That's completely unhinged It's none of her business. I told her I was going to call AAA and complain about her after she refused my tow. I've been paying multiple memberships for 9 years. This is the only second time I called. This year. I went down to the AAA building the woman there was very sweet and she tried to get them to tow my vehicle. She even asked if I used my daughter or my mom's account and had them to it but they said no because it's the same vehicle. I wouldn't recommend this company. Well need a towed and was told I can only get 3 miles which is only three blocks and so when I called up to find out what’s going on the first customer service lady said, "Well this is South Carolina and we only covered 3 miles." She was kind of nasty. The second lady was all right 'cause I told her that I want to cancel the membership.
I don’t want to renew it so then I speak to a supervisor and I’m telling him that I am in my 60s and I’m stuck and I was told I can only get told for 3 miles and it’s like that’s not what I was told when I purchased it and 3 miles is not gonna get me nowhere home because it’s only three blocks and so I asked if I can get my money back because I can go through my insurance company and pay less money and get told more than 3 miles and he said, "Unfortunately I can’t give you back your money and there’s nothing we could do about it," so when you see triple AAA specials, I advise you not to get it because then they want you to upgrade and then they want you to pay $75 more to upgrade. I asked if I could pay now and would they re enter the call, they said no. They scheduled the tow, my membership was good, they never mentioned it was the last day of my membership. I handled it myself. I will never join their organization again. I will never buy memberships for family again. AAA is not an emergency roadside service provider anymore. They are a yearly service you pay into for false sense of security. Tow companies do not respond to AAA because they do not pay them for their service. If they paid a fair amount tow companies would respond. Stop giving AAA money. They need to not be allowed to operate. They are only allowed to exist because they pay companies to remove negative comments and lobbyists pay politicians to allow them to steal from the public.

After waiting nearly three hours, the driver claimed he had been given multiple addresses, even though I provided one clear and correct location. Despite several follow-up calls, the issue was not resolved. This experience reflects poor communication, lack of organization, and unprofessional service. The excessive delay wasted my time and caused unnecessary frustration. This level of service is unacceptable, and I do not recommend this company.

Then it said use the on screen map to pinpoint your location, so I did but it wouldn’t register the correct street no matter what I did, it showed the street below the desired one. What the hell, what have you people done to the old system where a human would ask and guide you through the entire operation, I never received a call back. I joined AAA roadside assistance mainly because I was hoping to be treated as a valued customer or should I say, member. After my experience that I just had on February 6/2026 I no longer have the desire to be a member. I was trapped on the side of the road until 7:30 p.m. which I call AAA at 3:00 p.m. and was told that I should call back around 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and still will not be guaranteed roadside assistance but keep in mind I am a premier member, which gives you 200 miles for your first tow and 100 additional mileage up to five tows.
But I was told due to the weather that's coming, they were only allowed to tow my vehicle up to 20 miles and then after that, I will be on my own. But they can recommend or help me find local tow trucks in the area that would tow my vehicle for additional cost but also keep in mind Triple A is supposed to be Nationwide roadside assistance service but they were unable to assist me and help me when I was stuck on the side of the highway and my vehicle I ended up calling my car insurance because I have roadside assistance with them also and had to negotiate arrangements with them.
I came out of pocket $337 which when AAA called a tow service for me the price was $600 for me to be put on the list to have my vehicle towed. So my advice to anyone that has AAA roadside assistance if you are stranded over a certain amount of miles from where you're going AAA more than likely will tell you they're only allowed to tow your vehicle up to 20 mi if it's going to be a possibility of severe weather. But I was able to get an outside tow truck company to come tow my vehicle without any issues, didn't complain about the weather conditions.
But I would mention I was able to connect with AAA representative who stayed on the phone with me for 45 minutes trying to help me resolve my issue by the name of KANESHIA... She was very helpful and tried her best to help me out of my situation. So my advice for anyone moving forward that is planning to become a AAA member or that is is a AAA member, give them a call and ask them about the restrictions that they have when they are most needed on the mileage they are allowed to tow a vehicle.

So we did that it wasn’t long when it died again. The technician came again and telling us another step and we said no way, replace the battery. Now her battery is again dead. Last year I had a problem with AAA and I was able to get AAA this year for like $36. And so I thought, okay, that's good. So it's gonna be for actually a year. And a 1. So I towed one of my cars to some friend of mine to fix. He told me what was wrong is not something I can fix. So I want TED to tow it back and I called another tow truck. The first tow I gave them a great review cause I had no issues. But the second tow, I had the tow truck from Jacksonville, Florida, triple, a subsidiary, and a guy showed up, he had the bed down, and he gets out of the truck and tells me, "I'm sorry, I have to leave, they're sending me somewhere else. And they're sending you another guy." This was around 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
It is now 714. And I just got home about 45 minutes ago. The reason being is someone else was paying cash and they didn't want to lose that business. And I have to wait 4 hours to deal with this. AAA is hiring losers as tow truck drivers. I don't think it's the fault of the tow truck drivers but the companies and the legacies and policies they have. This are individuals with low IQ who had criminal records. And they can't get a better job. Anywhere else? I'm so sorry. But if I had it my way, I would make some regulations unfortunate. But it's a necessary evil. But I don't know if I'm going to get a again.

4 Calls later and 2 managers. They still denied me. I wish I could give -100 stars. I have been a AAA member for several consecutive years, and they have never actually solved a single problem for me. Today was officially the worst experience yet. Their automated system is broken, and every single communication you receive is from a useless robot. On 01/30/2026, I called for roadside assistance at 6:55 PM. My first ETA was 7:06 PM. Then it changed to 7:37 PM, and then to 8:00 PM. Right as 8:00 PM approached, I received a message stating there was a delay and they didn't even have a driver available.
This company plays with people’s time and safety. As a young woman stranded alone with no one else to call, I was counting on the service I pay for, only to be completely abandoned. It is unfair and predatory to take people's money for a "membership" that provides zero help when you are vulnerable. Thankfully, I remembered I had roadside assistance through my car insurance, and they solved everything immediately. TO ANYONE CONSIDERING AAA: PLEASE DO NOT DO IT. Unless you want to wait 24 hours for help that might never arrive, save your money. Add roadside assistance to your insurance policy instead; you’ll be much better off. AAA lacks professionalism, empathy, and respect for its members. They are completely useless.

I spent an hour on the phone with a supervisor in Member Resolution department and she was no help whatsoever. She said if there is a weather alert (which has been in place over a week) it is company policy to abide by that (which arbitrarily limits tow distance to 25 miles). The weather here is perfect today (blue skies and sunny) but logic apparently does not play any role here. I asked about credit to my account for lack of paid service and was told to pound sand. Writing this review about my experience with AAA roadside assistance on 1/28/26 - I’m extremely disappointed. I submitted a roadside assistance request at 3:00 PM through the AAA app, since the phone system explicitly says using the app is faster. The app provided an ETA countdown timer which I used to time my Uber to arrive at the parking garage where my car died so I could meet the technician. By 4:30 PM, no one had arrived. When I called AAA, I was told the ETA shown in the app has been broken and is inaccurate (incredibly misleading!). She said the actual ETA was 4:30–6:30 PM and that I would receive a tracking link when the technician was on the way. That link never came.
At 6:30 PM, I called again and spoke to the most unhelpful customer service rep I’ve ever dealt with. Every question I asked was met with the same robotic response: “You’ll receive a link when the technician is on the way.” No updates. No accountability. No attempt to help. It is now 9:30 PM (over 6 hours after my initial request) and no technician was ever on route. Because of AAA’s failure to follow through, my car is now stuck in a parking garage overnight, costing me additional fees that I should not be responsible for. I understand high call volumes and delays happen but this level of poor communication, broken technology, and useless customer service is unacceptable. When you pay for a service that’s meant to help in stressful situations, the bare minimum expectation is transparency, reliability, and basic human support. Extremely disappointed, and seriously reconsidering my membership after this experience.

It was AAA they transfer you from place to place, reps struggled with location because on one occasion they sent my call to Cali and a driver in California was looking for me. I told them OHIO!! I waited for almost 5 hours alongside the road broken down. They are not dependable. I spoke to so many people in dispatch, people saying they can't help me, "Let me transfer you" (cold drop the call transfers). Had to reexplain while I'm in the elements. They have a horrid new system! No snow or ice. Just raining.
My most recent experience a phone call from a retention sales rep stating we can add someone for FREE and I won't be for 1 whole year so I would be charged next year! I restated 1 whole year. She said YES. I just got a bill for 238.00 bucks. No thank you AAA!!! I have no respect for lying sales reps. Furthermore, I checked online and they charge you 20.00 for enrollment fee?? Why would you charge an ENROLLMENT fee. The fee is the fee but when you say enrollment fee it appears you're adding a RIP-OFF CHARGE. This is bs and I will be calling to find out who it was that lied so we can all address the issue. Sales and marketing needs to appear that you're NOT doing these tactics to sell. I paid 53.00 the first year. Now you want 238.00. I can add this for CHEAP to my insurance.
AAA has gone downhill with customer service. When you call that rep should handle the call is not saying, "Oh, I can't help you. You're not in our club." SERIOUSLY? I AM IN YOUR AAA CLUB. They should be trained to not be letting stranded drivers go thru this mess they created. They used to be the best then changed the way calls are routed. Check into your insurance before you go down this long road to nowhere!! So, since you ADD on bogus charges like an enrollment fee you need to put that on the upfront price. You're selling based on one price then add addt'l price and this is not being upfront. All in all, not good to lie to customers or keep them waiting playing phone games. The reps did not care I was broke down. Zero empathy.

I purchased an AAA Plus membership for peace of mind, believing that if my vehicle ever broke down, AAA would be there to help—no hassle, no excuses. Today proved that belief wrong. My vehicle broke down on the side of the road, and when I contacted AAA, I was shocked by the response. Despite paying for a Plus membership that clearly includes up to three 100-mile tows per year, I was told that due to “high customer volume,” towing was suddenly restricted to only 25 miles. There was no warning, no prior notice, and no explanation of when—or if—this restriction would be lifted.
The tow I needed was only 30.4 miles. AAA flat-out refused to tow my vehicle the full distance and offered no real solution other than scheduling a 25-mile tow, which did absolutely nothing to solve my problem. On top of that, they couldn’t even tell me when they would be able to return to retrieve my vehicle if I waited for the so-called “restriction” to be lifted. I was essentially left stranded with a broken-down car and zero peace of mind.
This experience completely defeated the purpose of paying for roadside assistance. When you’re stuck on the side of the road—stressed and vulnerable—the last thing you expect is for a company you pay for “coverage” to suddenly change the rules and refuse to honor the roadside assistance plan you purchased and agreed to. AAA failed when it mattered most. If they can ignore the benefits you pay for and offer no meaningful help in an emergency, then the service is not worth it. I would absolutely not recommend AAA to anyone.

I have been with AAA for 15 years and last night was worse experience I have ever had. I called for a tow and got transfer to three different people without any help so I had to pay 200 dollars for a tow truck to pull me out of a ditch because I was being pressure by a police officer. I don't recommend AAA unless you want wait one hour or more for a tow truck and sometimes don't even get a english speaking person on the other side of the call. I looking for sometime better to replace AAA.

I truly can't say enough good about AAA. They are courteous, knowledgeable, prompt and caring on every single roadside experience I've ever had to call them for!!! The towing companies they called to assist us were Chacon Towing and Lone Star Towing. Both companies had outstanding staff to include the dispatch operators, the excellent drivers with the kindest dispositions and the service was absolutely awesome!!! I highly commend AAA, and both of these companies for their phenomenal service and caring kindness!!! They sincerely are concerned about your safety as well as resolving your issue!!! Thank you all so very much for making difficult situations much easier to navigate!!! You all Rock!!! I highly, highly recommend AAA if you don't already have it, it pays for itself over and over again and is definitely worth getting!!!

AAA continues to be a great investment. On the coldest day of the year, my car decided it was officially done for the day. One call to AAA and help was on the way. Huge shoutout to my tow truck driver, Mr. Elliott **, for his sense of urgency and top-tier professionalism. He showed up ready, kept things moving, and made a stressful situation a whole lot easier. This is exactly why AAA is worth it reliable service when you need it most.

The tow truck driver called and was very aggressive from the beginning. He asked if the car was registered and was told yes. He then asked what was wrong, I explained that the car wouldn’t start but that my husband would know more and could explain when he got there as he was the one meeting him. He did not like that answer and immediately said no that he wasn’t doing it. I said that my husband was also on the account as the membership was under his name. He said he would call corporate and hung up on me. He called back three minutes later and said that there was a note from corporate specifically stating if it I wasn’t there he couldn’t touch the car. He also said that he would verify the plates were valid and if not he wasn’t touching it, I told him it was asinine and he said that my husband didn’t have a membership and he was going to cancel the call.
I told him I was done speaking with him as it sounded like he just didn’t want to do the job and I would call and speak with corporate myself. He continued yelling saying he was going to cancel the call, I told him if he did i would be filing a complaint. He continued to yell so I ended the call. He called back and the call was ignored. I’ve been a member for nearly 8 years now and I cannot believe this gentleman talked to my wife that way after this I believe we’re going to sever our business relationship.

Mr. Cory ** did an excellent job. He went above and beyond to try to air the tire up, he located the issue by doing a diagnostic on the rim and tire, and towed me where I needed to go. He should be commended on his efforts; especially, in 8 degree weather, and that's not including the wind chill. Thanks! 🙏🏽 Dion
