Have been with them 44 years. Purchased a battery from them at one time, which took a long time for the driver to actually show up. The rate was not bad as they included my wife and I for the same price. Got a renewal notice today, four hundred and twenty one dollars, which is about twice what I paid last year. Contact them using their really horrible automated system. And when I finally spoke with someone, she was not helpful or nice. She just said prices go up. I do not recommend AAA , and I will not renew.

I’ve had the worst experience with AAA the last couple times I’ve called. The other day my keys got lost so I was locked out of my vehicle and call AAA multiple times. They kept giving me the runaround. Do we need to get a Tow? Do we need to get a locksmith? I said, "Whatever you need to do just let’s get it done." I called them probably about 40 times within two days. The first day they sent a locksmith out after I started calling around 4:30 PM to get service. The locksmith got there at 9:30 PM and then he could not program the key for my vehicle and I waited until after midnight for him to say well I can’t help you today. I’ll have to help you on Monday. I can’t get it today. It’s not programmed incorrectly. Come to find out he had the battery for the new key fob in backwards. So I called AAA the next day and said, "If you guys can’t find me a locksmith then get me towed and let it get towed to my house and I’ll figure out the key later on well."

I started calling from 10 AM yesterday and didn’t get a response until seven saying we have nobody that will be able to come out and tell you so I had to pay out-of-pocket $200 to get towed from the place that my car was at to my house. I talked to two supervisors that couldn’t help. One said she was gonna call me back and never did and decided she needed to go home. Tyra the other one was very rude and not helpful at all. Kelly H055 is her operator number and in the end it was nothing was accomplished. Nothing was done. I wasted hours and hours after I have to get up at four in the morning for work because their incompetence of getting the proper locksmith getting the proper Tow, it was the worst experience I’ve ever had with AAA and I will not be signing up for AAA again and I’ve had it for years and family members, but I am finally done with them.

At 7:00 p.m., I was involved in a car accident. I immediately called Triple A, explained my situation, and was assured that I would receive priority service because I was stranded in the middle of nowhere. I was told a tow truck would arrive within 30–60 minutes. Shortly afterward, I even received a text saying the driver was only 16 minutes away. Then the delays started. The arrival time kept getting pushed back again and again. After waiting four hours, I called again and explained that there was an insulin-dependent person in the vehicle. I asked to speak with a supervisor, hoping someone would take the situation seriously and offer a real solution. Instead, all I received from both the representative and the supervisor was an endless stream of apologies that did absolutely nothing to help my stranded family or me.

To make matters worse, I was told the earliest a tow truck could arrive was 9:00 a.m. the following morning—14 hours after my accident. That is completely unacceptable. Rather than finding a meaningful solution, they repeatedly offered me a Lyft voucher. At that point, it felt like I was talking to parrots instead of people capable of listening, understanding the situation, and exercising basic judgment. After spending hours stranded following a car accident, repeatedly hearing the same scripted response only made an already stressful situation even worse.

With no reasonable alternative offered, I reluctantly agreed to the 9:00 a.m. tow. Fortunately, the situation was ultimately resolved without any assistance from Alcoholics Anonymous—or the organization with the extra "A." Would I recommend Triple A? Yes—but only to my worst enemies. Would I recommend it to anyone I actually care about? Absolutely not. Not in a million years. To Club 212 employees Alejandra and Supervisor Kelly: I sincerely hope you never find yourselves stranded in the middle of nowhere relying on the same level of service you provided my family that night. No one should have to experience what we did.

It is a pain to cancel membership. I used their services for a flat tire once, and it was adequate, but the difficulty in canceling subscription alone is worth the 1 star review. I could not cancel online, and there was no one to answer my call when I tried to cancel over the phone. If you remove auto pay they will still charge you on the membership renewal date. This is predatory business practice and after I finally manage to get someone on the phone to cancel my subscription, I will never get a membership again.

Went to see a play at night with a friend. Parked on a residential street. Got to the car later that night. When I pulled out I could feel something dragging. Drove onto the main street, but was afraid to drive the 40 minutes home. Pulled into a vacant lot for safety and to call AAA. Gave them my location, I couldn't read the street sign due to rain, but told them I was in a parking lot with a closed Tire Shop. They told me that they would not send a tow because they said the CLOSED auto shop could of caused damage. They left us stranded late at night.

I have been sitting on the side of the road for 2 hours waiting for a tow truck they say they can’t seem to schedule because they can’t find one. Meanwhile, I have watched the truck at the gas station beside me get towed within 30 minutes of breaking down. They had no problem finding a tow, but AAA can’t seem to.

We've been AAA members for 20 years because how wonderful they are. We were just recently in Granite City, IL when we hit a pothole and destroyed a tire. We were 700 miles from home and stuck. As always AAA to the rescue. They towed us to a local tire shop they've dealt with before and it could not have worked out better. The shop ordered the replacement tire we needed. It was delivered and installed and away we went in less than 2 hours. Turned what could have been a catastrophe into a minor inconvenience.

Unfortunately AAA service has really gone downhill. I have had AAA roadside membership for several years and these last couple years it has declined badly. Today I called to have them come replace a dead battery in my car, which they have done in the past. And I would pay for the battery and lose one of my allotted tows for the year. Well after waiting for hours I called to see what was going on to find out that they don't do that in my area anymore and asked if I wanted it towed somewhere. Ya right! It was now 4pm on a Friday so there's nowhere to tow it to now. And were they ever going to let me know all of this?? So I just wasted the whole day when they could have informed me hours ago that they couldn't help me. So I don't think I will be renewing my membership. Another business that seemed to decline after the pandemic I think. Very sad because they used to be very reliable in the past.

Then was called I had to pay an additional 60 to start my service today. Then was called to say I had to pay an additional 64 because they would only tow it 5 miles or less. Then was told I only had THREE services left. None of this was explained when I signed up for this scam of a membership. Bought a new car a week later got 2 flat tires. AAA said 15 minutes I got numerous calls saying driver on the way, driver 15 minutes away, driver 45 minutes away driver 5 min away multiple times. 3 hours later tow truck came. Had the wrong address to where to tow it to so good thing I double checked. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE and unreliable. No accurate information was ever given to me.

My journey with AAA began around 11:30 Thursday, June 25, 2026. It is now after 3:30. Triple AAA was a part of my package when I bought a new vehicle from Hyundai. I’ve used AAA in the past and sometimes I’ve had excellent results coming in a timely fashion and other times they were horrible. Well this particular time on June 25 as I stated earlier, I called to have my battery charged. Well a non-fleet driver came. Very rude and nasty. HE had the AAA logo on the vehicle, but he was not a fleet driver from AAA. When he approached me he said he to needed my VIN number in order to to charge my battery, which I thought was odd. And I told him no. He said he needed the VIN number in order to charge the car he started, mumbling some nasty words, and I said to him excuse we were in shock. So this is my second encounter with him. He was not a fleet driver from AAA. He had AAA and another company name on his vehicle.

The next problem is a lot of the representatives are very helpful but then it just appears that one hand doesn’t know what the other hand is doing because they keep calling saying someone will be there in 30 minutes. 30 minutes. 30 minutes. 30 minutes and now 4 hours have passed. Aaa called and questioned me about the whereabouts of the vehicle. I said to them, "You have all of that information." She state, "I don’t have anything except for your name," so it appears that there’s a bunch of confusion at AAA. A fleet driver arrived around 350-ish. His name was Philip. It’s courteous and very professional.

They got a star only because the lady who helped me cancel service was very pleasant. I will shorten this dramatically. First call for a tow for my daughter took them 3 hours to get to her. She was located in town at approximately 3:00pm perfect weather conditions. Second call for assistance 2 years later was for a tire change because her new vehicle was missing the jack. It was 5:30pm, perfect weather conditions and she was in town. She called me at 8:30pm to let me know she and my 3 grandchildren had been waiting for help for 3 hours [after asking why she waited so long].

I called AAA. After being lied to and false promises made at 9:45pm AAA suggested we leave keys in vehicle under the seat and they would have driver pick up and tow to our specified location [for a tire change???]. We called someone else to come out. Over 4 hours on the side of the road. Totally, totally, totally unacceptable!!! And my story about extended wait times is only 1 of thousands with aaa, yes lower case on purpose. Company is terrible. Competitors including the number 1 rated road side assistance co. out there seem to have almost the same number of similar complaints about wait times. Do your research!! Probably better to pay out of pocket, the providers are then responsible to you directly and are probably getting paid better by you for their service than they get paid by the roadside service company. Money motivates. Good luck.

I was a member of AAA for over 40 years. When I requested a tire change service, I was refused. I had requested service earlier. The individual who came out then became belligerent when my son came out of the house to observe. He went off on my son, saying why couldn’t a grown man like him change the tire. Well, my son was just visiting and didn’t have the tools to change the tire. The serviceman stormed away mumbling without changing the tire. I called later to request the same service, and AAA refused to service me, stating that they did not want to endanger the serviceman when he was the one that became belligerent. AAA believed the serviceman over myself, a long-time, loyal member. AAA did not take the time to investigate the incident, even though I had proof that the serviceman was in the wrong.

I signed up for AAA around 2015. I did not really use any of the supposed benefits, so I cancelled membership after a year or two. I did not realize that they were automatically billing me renewal fees; my fault for not reviewing my credit card statements closely enough. However, I did see at the beginning of June 2026 that there was a renewal charge on May 1, 2026. I called on June 4 and was told the charge would be removed within 2 weeks. It was still there as of June 22, so I called back. I was then told that the request for a refund was denied because it was past June 1, one month after the charge. I was not even notified that the refund was denied.

Let this be a warning to everyone. Don’t sign up for AAA; your insurance probably covers charge for towing. Don’t let them do an automatic renewal; based on what I experienced, they will keep doing it even if you quit. I have only written something like this about a business 2 or 3 times in my over 50 years, but the audacity and gall of their attitude has gotten me upset enough to post this wherever I can.

A few minutes later, I received a call because the pick up location was apparently over 250 miles from the drop off location. The first agent had the address totally wrong! Finally, request was made to the correct location, and I received a confirmation text. Followed up by a text stating that the request had been cancelled. After that was straightened out, I received a text that the driver was at the location. No driver to be seen. AAA had sent him incomplete information. Fortunately, the driver called me directly, and we worked it out. The driver was great - everything else about the experience was terrible!!!

AAA is a waste of money, my car wouldn't start and the customer representative recommended a shop she said id get a discount from. I didn't think this shop would be to far away, she did tell me how far but she left out the part where id be paying extra for the tow which is supposed to be free with my membership. So I get sent 30 minutes away from my location and 40 minutes from my home which I now have to Uber too to go get the car, so that's even more money AAA is costing me. Then we get to the shop and because AAA doesn't know the prices of the shops they work with I was charged 140 JUST for diagnostics. So before my cars even looked at AAA has cost me 200 dollars when triple A is somehow supposed to be saving me 200 a year by having them.

I talked to a member from higher up the chain of command and basically I got a long polite speech of how my problems were not her problems and they don't have diagnostics prices from the shops that THEY recommend, also the extra miles I got sent over by a shop they recommended? Apparently I'm supposed to stop what I'm doing, look at how far that shop is on Google maps, and tell them while on the phone if the shop is to far over my miles and I can't afford it. If you're reading this review take what I say to be the truth, they will just cost you money, they don't care and they won't reimburse you for any of it, and memberships are pointless. Take your money elsewhere and save it, I know I'm not saving any money by being a member for over 5 years, you won't either.

Finally, I had to call my very own Cousin to come and air my tire up. He had one of them little battery operated air compressors. He is like me, disabled. I managed to get the air compressor hooked up to air my tire up and they never called. They said they would let me know. I have the emails to prove it on my telephone. I never was a shocked in my life that I could not even get a tire L aired up. I have auto pay enrolled on this service. As soon as I got back home I turned out automated pay off. I will never ever recommend these people for anything. If you wanna get a runaround and talk to a customer service representative you’re just in dreamland if they talk to you, they will put you on hold and cut you off. Another word's forget it. I beg them to come to my tire up. No response, no calls. I sat there from 330.

Finally got home and my home in Kentucky at 8:30 at night. The young lady finally called me which I do not blame the ones on the telephone. I know they try to get people to service your needs. But this was the biggest waste of money I ever spent in my life. I think I paid over $160 for all three of my vehicles for nothing and I mean nothing. Very sad to do a senior citizen and a Vietnam veteran and do not care if they are stranded.

So I have to pay over $500 for the tow on top of the new membership. Shameful. One of the reasons AAA used to be so popular was their reliability on saving you in such situations but now they gleefully sing into the phone that they will not do. All across services there are more and more openings for better companies to take over and it's time.

As a paying customer, I expected the coverage I had already paid for to be honored through the end of my membership term. Being denied assistance when I finally needed it left me feeling frustrated and misled. The purpose of a roadside assistance membership is to provide peace of mind when unexpected situations arise. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that. Based on this experience, I cannot say that I received the value or service I expected from AAA.

I got vehicle insurance for my father in 2020 through AAA, who forced me to include roadside assistance with it, otherwise I could not get the vehicle insurance. In 2021 he decided to no longer drive due to disability, sold his car, and I cancelled his policy. Recently, I was auditing his budget and expenses when I saw a AAA charge. When I called to inquire, they had been charging him annually for roadside assistance, and had not cancelled it. They refunded the recent charge, but refused to refund the previous charges.

Even though they forced me to get it when I got the insurance, they said it was not part of the policy... According to them, it is a separate department I would have had to contact to cancel the roadside. They never informed me of that when I called to cancel the insurance. Seems like that should have to be a standard mention, since they force it on you. And especially since they asked me why I was cancelling, to which I replied my father was selling his car due to disability and WOULD NO LONGER BE DRIVING, therefore would no longer be needing insurance (and obviously roadside!).

I have dealt with every major and several minor insurance companies for my family. Sometimes I have roadside, sometimes I do not. When I have had it, and decided to go to another carrier, I've never had to worry about cancelling roadside. It just expired with the policy! This seems like a very deceptive practice. Especially one that preys upon the elderly, as that is primarily who chooses to use AAA.

AAA also replaced my main battery shortly before the actual electrical issue was identified, resulting in additional inconvenience and time without my vehicle. Thankfully, AAA did later approve a refund for the battery and reopened my roadside call count after I escalated the situation, which I do appreciate. However, the overall experience caused significant inconvenience, multiple breakdowns, lost time, and unnecessary stress. I am extremely disappointed with AAA’s battery service and customer support. Last month, a technician came out to test my car battery and told me the battery was fine, even though my car had been hesitating to start ever since. Today, my car would not start at all. I am currently 8 months pregnant and was on my way to a doctor’s appointment when this happened. I called AAA again, and the technician tested the battery and said something was draining it. I explained that the battery is only 3 years old, still under warranty, and that I believed the battery itself was causing the issue. Despite this, they refused to replace it. The technician Fazel then told me I needed proof that the battery was purchased through AAA. While I stepped away to call customer service and get the information, he simply left without waiting or offering any further assistance.

As a loyal AAA member for 10 years, I found this treatment completely unacceptable. I called customer service, I was then told the warranty only covers manufacturer defects and that because the technician jumped the car and the battery temporarily charged, their system would not show it as a failed battery. Tony the manager advised me to go to AutoZone to have the battery tested independently. I did, and AutoZone confirmed that the battery is bad. I called AAA back with this information, and they still refused to replace the battery under warranty. What makes this even more frustrating is that customer service Manager Tony told me to go to AutoZone and have the battery tested independently. As an 8-month pregnant woman dealing with a disabled car, why would I be told to waste my time doing that if AAA still had no intention of honoring the warranty or replacing the battery, even after AutoZone confirmed the battery was bad?

What makes this even worse is that when I called back to provide Tony with the information she specifically asked me for, she then refused to take my call. I was told she was “busy” and that she would call me back, but that callback never happened. My mother even had to call because she was in disbelief over how poorly this situation was handled and the final outcome. I am disgusted by this entire experience and the lack of concern, professionalism, and customer care shown throughout this process.

This has happened to our family on multiple occasions at night, in the middle of the night. Just overall and not the best area. You cannot speak to someone they want to automate you they want to send you to a robot who wants to send you a link who wants to send you a text and then they want to give you to a virtual assistant and you have to fight and fight and fight until you get through to a human and then the first thing they representative says, (Are you in a safe place?).

Really please stop acting like you care because if you cared you wouldn't have to go through x amount of minutes struggling with an automated service who does not care if you're dead or alive and again it's not the representative's fault who actually answers. She said that quite usually people are pretty angry by the time they get to a human yes because AAA just said by our products but we don't really care if you're going to be safe or not because we don't have the time to answer.

AAA is not worth the amount of money they make you pay. We had a car break down and needed a tow to a repair shop. They towed it, but found out there was a recall for the repair. AAA would only tow it if we pay a $95 fee and $7 a mile after 5 miles because it’s a “re-tow”. That’s $382! A regular tow company will do it for $200. So I pay a plus membership fee and they wanted another $382 on top of that. Then when I called to cancel my membership, which is good until January, they refused to give me a refund. The customer service people were rude, as well.

I received no notification and only became aware by going to the AAA office in Glendale, CA to question why my AAA app signed out my account. The office was not able to assist me in resolving the matter but, informed me that my membership was canceled due to bad conduct. I regretfully took out an auto insurance policy through AAA in December of 2025. Because numerous mistakes were made by the agent, I issued a verbal complaint which is my right. In addition to that, I encountered an extremely unprofessional and extremely rude experience with two ** women. After speaking with the manager of the Burbank branch, a very nice ** Woman, all was clarified with my policy and automatic payments have been taken out of my account each month. We live in a age when complaining, especially when you're right is held against you.

There is an ongoing problem with ** employees of late. Just like the despicable ** police officer who made racists rants about AA and admitted how she purposely targeted ** people, this is the same scenario. These two young ** girls did not take kindly to having their misconduct pointed out so they no doubt saw to my membership being canceled. I spoke with my attorney about this because the actions of AAA were wrong and definitely wrong unwarranted and, I was never notified or given a chance to defend myself.

The damage that canceling my membership has done, as well as the negative position of my membership, legal actions can be taken. This matter needs to go public and now it will. This is an intended, calculated act towards me, initiated and conspired by two ** women. There needs to be consequences. I strongly encourage people to video tape all negative encounters they have while conducting business. AAA was once a reputable company but it has become one of the worst businesses around.

This experience goes far beyond one bad towing company. Companies like this are small operators that only continue because major brands like AAA continue giving them the opportunity to represent their name and service standards. The most disappointing part of this entire situation is not just the towing company’s behavior it is AAA’s willingness to partner with and rely on providers that operate with such poor judgment, lack of compassion, and complete disregard for customer safety.

My daughter is an authorized add-on member on my AAA account. Around 11 PM, while alone, she accidentally locked her keys inside her car and contacted AAA for assistance exactly what the membership is supposed to be for. When the driver arrived, they refused to help because I was not physically present. Had this been a tire change or jump start where she had access to the membership card, additional verification may have made sense. But the keys, identification, and access to everything were locked inside the vehicle. I personally called and asked if they could verify the account directly through AAA or over the phone. Instead of making any reasonable effort to help, they refused entirely and left my daughter stranded alone at night.

At that point, the responsibility shifts beyond the towing company and directly onto AAA. When you allow contractors like this to operate under your brand, their behavior becomes your responsibility. Customers are trusting AAA to send qualified, professional, and reasonable help during vulnerable situations. What we experienced was the complete opposite. AAA needs to seriously reevaluate the standards, oversight, and accountability of the companies representing them because this experience did not reflect safety, customer care, or common sense.

They said they could not fix the tire and wanted us to buy a new one. My husband did not want to buy tires from them so they put the spare tire on at a cost of $30 to us. This would have been covered under AAA if our tow driver would have changed it in first place. In the process our lug nuts on the changed tire were traded out. We did not have pictures of the tires before they were changed so the shop would not replace with the original lug nuts.

I explained that I had already been waiting and asked if the service could be expedited—there was no urgency, no accommodation, and no real concern shown. I ended up waiting over 2 hours, and no tow truck arrived.

When I called back for an update, I was told my request had to be closed and restarted, which meant starting the entire process over again with another 60-minute wait. Again, I waited nearly 2 more hours, and still no tow truck. After calling yet again, I was told the driver was “nearby” and would arrive within 25 minutes. That never happened. Then, after more than 2.5 hours of waiting, I was given the towing company’s phone number—only to find out they had never even received a request from AAA for my vehicle.

At this point, I had been stranded for hours. A new request had to be submitted AGAIN, adding another 1–1.5 hours to the wait time. After 5 hours of being stranded, I asked to speak to a supervisor. Even then, I was simply told to wait another hour. In total, I was left stranded from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM—SIX HOURS—with no resolution, no accountability, and no sense of urgency from AAA. This was not just an inconvenience—this was complete disregard for my time, safety, and well-being. AAA is supposed to provide peace of mind in stressful situations, but instead, they created a nightmare.

The lack of coordination, repeated misinformation, and failure to follow through is beyond unprofessional—it is unacceptable. No customer should ever have to experience this level of neglect. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. AAA needs to seriously evaluate its towing dispatch system and customer service protocols, because this experience was a complete failure.

I’ve put in for a refund of the tow bill but have not heard back from AAA. I'm done with them. What good are they if they can’t fulfill a simple call for a tow. This morning I spent almost 2 hrs on the phone trying to get answers to a towing billing question. No matter what number I tried or was transferred to it was always the wrong dept or out of state and they don't handle Colorado. All I had was a simple question about how a tow is handled for an out of state tow. The answering service has no option for customer service, the web site link for chat, or email contact was not working. Amazingly after over an hour someone helped get to customer service and Cherie ** was my life saver.

She kept me on the line while she researched my question and explained to me the new procedures of how an out of state tow is handled. What a Godsend to get a real live caring person who could help! BTW. Our tow was great. All personnel were courteous but seem to be confined by too many separate entities. The website and particularly the phone system is absolutely one of the most horrible systems I've ever experienced. Computers and AI cannot answer all questions.

I DO NOT recommend AAA. Be sure to read my entire review & see what's going on currently with lawsuits against AAA. My husband & I canceled our policy w AAA, & didn't renew. After having their coverage for several years, & not needing to use it, when we had our first & 2nd incident, AAA failed miserably, repeatedly. November 2023, we broke down traveling out of state, in an isolated rural area that was just 15-20 minutes outside of Chapin/Columbia Sc. AAA, let us sit there in the middle of the woods over 6 hours in the dark. It was daylight for the first hour or so. We sat there so long, we had a nice couple stop & stay with us for over an hour & gave us their phone number in case AAA never showed up.

We had a few realllly sketchy people ride by slowly, 1 even turned around & came back by. I think they thought the car was empty, because when I turned on the headlights, they took off pretty quickly. It was a scary place to be with no one around, just a very dark woodsy area. We called AAA numerous times & just got excuses, then finally I was told that they were having trouble finding a tow company that they have contracts with to tow us. I told them I don't care who you have to get to tow us, they're obligated to our policy.

Finally hours later, a tow truck driver showed up & he told me that AAA doesn't usually use him because they don't want to pay his prices & they could have called him much sooner. But they didn't, they let us just sit longer there because they didn't want to pay more. So, we're towed to my mother in-laws in Chapin, no issues or damages, guy did a great job.

Fast forward a week later, I arranged for AAA to tow the car back to Nc Sunday at noon. Because we had an appointment Monday morning for the car at the mechanics. The tow truck driver didn't show up until 11pm, 11 hours after they were supposed to be there. And he damaged the lawn & the car doing it. We didn't get to NC till after 2am or so. We were going to use AAA to tow the car the next day, but we just didn't trust them to show up on time or show up at all. So we paid out of pocket for a 1 hour tow.

I called AAA to let them know I'm not renewing my policy & why. It was supposed to be renewed in January. I got an apology for the situation, too little too late. They knew they screwed up but didn't seem like it was a big deal. Well it was, & they offered us nothing but an apology. I suggest people shop around & read legit review site's like this 1, not Google or the companies own reviews, if they need to purchase roadside assistance, & check w your insurance company.

So far AAA is well below a 2 star rating on the more legitimate sites. They, like many companies have gone downhill. Not to mention there's at least 3 current class action lawsuits against AAA, 1 in NM for over 4 million. Another in CA, for overcharging customers potentially 1.5+ million during the pandemic. There's more, go online, the information is there. If you want to take your chances with AAA, don't be surprised when you need to use their services & they fail you miserably & damaged your car & property without caring. Worst services I've ever thrown away good money on. Never again. Not AAA. This happened Nov. 2023, & we've moved since this incident. I'm not sure if we still have the AAA paperwork or if it went in the shredder honestly. If I had it handy I would post a picture of it & I would get the "verified customer" label. I promise, hand to God, everything I have posted to be 100% truth.

I immediately contacted AAA & I was told to get an estimate which I did from Ford & was told that I needed to have my alternator replaced & something with a main fuse or fuses replaced, totaling $900.

After not hearing back from AAA for two days, I was finally told that they weren’t responsible for the damage to my vehicle. I was told that my alternator was bad & I guess my gauges stopped working because of the bad alternator as well. My van, gauges & alternator were fine before their technician placed the charger cables on the wrong battery post. The reason for the jump was because of the cold & because the vehicle had been sitting up unstarted for a few months. It’s terrible the way that these companies treat their customers. All I needed was a jump & it wound costing me $900. I will no longer be using AAA & this is a precautionary tale for anyone using their service.

Then it was revised to a 6 hr wait. There were 2 toddlers in the vehicle. The call was made before 8pm. The estimate was 1:30 am before the truck would even arrive... forget the time to the shop and the time to drive home in a second vehicle. Had we waited, the kids would have been stuck sitting in a car all night. We wouldn't have been able to go to work the next day with absolutely no sleep. However, I found out a few months later my policy was canceled!

Needless to say, I was horrified! I called and was told I was supposed to have contacted them but since I didn't they had no choice but to cancel. I ended up getting a new quote and signed up for a new policy but to my horror, a few months later, I received a letter stating my policy was being terminated due to the state of my roof (which is in good shape) and an outbuilding that needs repair. I explicitly asked your rep Trinia if there were any additional fees — she confirmed there were none. Your third-party contractor Howard arrived and recommended an upgraded battery at $279, which I agreed to. After installation, I was handed a bill for $309 — including undisclosed shop fees, spray protector charges, and other add-ons.

When I disputed the difference, Howard threatened to remove the battery from my car over a $15 discrepancy on fees I was never told about. I offered to pay the agreed $279 plus tax — he refused. I had to call the police to stop him from opening my hood. To make matters worse, Howard asked me 'where is your husband — why isn't he dealing with this?' When I contacted AAA, I was essentially told to pay whatever the contractor demanded. AAA did not stand behind their quote. The fact that quotes are never provided in writing now makes perfect sense. This is a textbook bait-and-switch, and it's a fundamental breach of consumer trust. This experience will not go unshared.

My car broke down, I have 4 vehicles on my AAA account. Now the car in question has been towed by AAA three other times and never a problem. This time I called AAA told them what car and because it's a lowrider, and just like the other times I asked for a flat bed. Dispatch took all my information and told me the driver would be there on 45 minutes.

Driver showed up and told me just like all other times he needed to take pictures of the car, before he towed it, I said fine. Only this time he told me that I was in the pictures. I said that is ok. He sent them in came back and said, "You're going to be mad at me." I asked him why what's up? He said, "They told me that I can't tow your car." I was in shock, I told him that is strange considering that this car has been towed three other times and the only thing different this time is me being in your pictures. I pay for AAA for in times of need, it seems they are happy to take my money and then refuse the service that I paid for. Please people beware and you might not want to be in the photo with the car that you are having towed.

They truly do not seem to care about time other than they created a service ticket and totally depend on a tow service dispatcher to dispatch a driver. We asked them to use a different service and basically just said they are doing everything they can. No urgency whatsoever. Probably be my last year be a member.

They go by a rolling year meaning I've exasperated my two tows for the year. I will not be renewing my service. Their timing is horrible. It's trash. I have been an AAA member for 5 years before filing a claim on 3/8/26. I ran over something in the city of Alcoa, TN, with my car that severely punctured my right front tire and caused instant deflation to the point I was driving on the rim. I called AAA to have my car towed, and the customer service rep said he would submit the claim but couldn't tell me how soon the towing company would arrive. I was stranded far from home, so I called a towing service myself; they arrived in 20 minutes and towed my car to my preferred destination. The tow truck driver said he no longer does work for AAA because they don't pay well. Lesson learned! I'm thankful I called the towing company directly and cancelled my AAA membership. My insurance company will reimburse me for the towing fees. Don't waste your money with AAA!

I ordered roadside assistance online. Explained my issue. Then I even called the tow truck company that was supposed to come and explained my issue to them as well to make sure they were able to help me. The guy told me absolutely no worries. We’ll figure it out then he sent a guy without a tow truck, even though he knew I needed one then that guy called dispatch and all of a sudden they’re unable to help me with my issue so what’s the point of having AAA? To me, it’s not worth the money. They couldn’t tell me because I had my kids with me even though they’re older children not in a car seat.

So what do you do with people that breakdown and need their car towed with children not even that they couldn’t do anything for me, but I called to confirm that they could and they said that they could even after I explained what I needed and that I had children with me so they had me wait here for a driver that couldn’t help me either way and then wait here again while that driver called to confirm that they couldn’t help me with two children for no reason. Total waste of time over some miscommunication.

He said that he’d seen them do that to people before and that we could dispute the charge with AAA. We called to dispute and AAA put us on hold and came back to tell us that the tow company said they towed the car 14 miles so they would reimburse us do the 3 miles extra that we were charged. I have never had such terrible service in my 13 years of being a loyal member! The first flatbed driver said we needed a different type of tow truck as we couldn't put the car into neutral as the key was broken. He said we needed a regular rear lifting truck. So we had to cancel that truck and request the right kind. The second tow truck driver they sent showed up with the same flatbed, same tow company too, put my broken key (the reason it was being towed to the dealership for replacement) inside the ignition and got it stuck.

My $160 new key replacement turned into a repair costing me over $700 to have the ignition replaced. And then they denied my claim because the driver lied and said he didn't do it. Why on earth would we have ordered the 2nd correct tow truck?! They have been awful to deal with. The manager Joe was going to "work" on it and call me back. I'm still waiting for that call. It's been 2 months!!! Unreal.... I just regret that there is no option for a 0 star review.

As a long time member of AAA, I am absolutely dumbfounded that we are in 2026 and I’m required to wait MULTIPLE HOURS for service just to show identification. That’s absolutely ridiculous and should be a crime. As a near 4 billion dollar company that’s been around over a century you’d think some common sense would be to have the ability to upload your license and answer a few security questions to allow drivers to leave the vehicle unattended. People have things to do other than wait over 4 hours for a 10 minute car tow. The company can afford to figure out something convenient for your members. This has once again been a very poor AAA experience as all are. I know I’m not alone on this issue. This is a major problem and needs to be addressed immediately.

I have been a AAA Plus member for over 25 years, and today’s experience has been one of the most frustrating service situations I’ve ever dealt with. I called AAA around 9:00 AM this morning because my vehicle needed to be towed. The earliest tow they scheduled was 12:35 PM, which was already a long wait, but I accepted it because I’ve trusted AAA for decades. Since then, I’ve called and sent several texts trying to get an update. Every response has been AI or automated messaging, and there has been no real person available to speak with, even though I’m stranded and unable to go anywhere.

After waiting all this time, I just received another update saying the tow has been delayed yet another hour. This is exactly when customers need real human support, not automated responses. When your vehicle breaks down, you’re stuck wherever you are — unable to get to work, run errands, or even get home. Sitting there for hours while only receiving robotic responses makes you feel like nobody actually cares about helping you.

After 25 years of loyalty, this experience has been extremely disappointing. AAA used to be known for dependable roadside assistance and customer care, but today it feels like the focus has shifted toward automation rather than helping members when they actually need it. After 25 years as a AAA Plus member, this experience has me seriously reconsidering renewing my membership and recommending AAA to others. Right now, I’m still waiting. Very disappointed. If you want, I can also show you one line that tends to make reviews like this rank higher and get more attention on Google and review sites.

Some years none of us even use any of the services. This year I was paying for three memberships. I was the only one to use a tow. 2 weeks later my vehicle was still at the shop not able to be repaired. I was trying to take it somewhere else and they refuse to tow it. The woman that worked for the wrecker service pretty much was giving me the third degree asking me all kinds of questions. Why was I towing my vehicle from the shop that I had it towed to two weeks ago. And why was I towing it to this other place. And was I trying to use it for a trade-in because they don't do tows if you're doing trade-ins. And I already received a tow for this one breakdown and they don't do multiple tows for one breakdown.

And I told her it's none of her business and then she proceeded to tell me she was going to call the service center where my vehicle was at and find out from them. That's completely unhinged It's none of her business. I told her I was going to call AAA and complain about her after she refused my tow. I've been paying multiple memberships for 9 years. This is the only second time I called. This year. I went down to the AAA building the woman there was very sweet and she tried to get them to tow my vehicle. She even asked if I used my daughter or my mom's account and had them to it but they said no because it's the same vehicle. I wouldn't recommend this company. Imagine paying for multiple memberships for 9 years and they actually refuse your second call in a year out of nine tows I could have had.

Well need a towed and was told I can only get 3 miles which is only three blocks and so when I called up to find out what’s going on the first customer service lady said, "Well this is South Carolina and we only covered 3 miles." She was kind of nasty. The second lady was all right 'cause I told her that I want to cancel the membership.

I don’t want to renew it so then I speak to a supervisor and I’m telling him that I am in my 60s and I’m stuck and I was told I can only get told for 3 miles and it’s like that’s not what I was told when I purchased it and 3 miles is not gonna get me nowhere home because it’s only three blocks and so I asked if I can get my money back because I can go through my insurance company and pay less money and get told more than 3 miles and he said, "Unfortunately I can’t give you back your money and there’s nothing we could do about it," so when you see triple AAA specials, I advise you not to get it because then they want you to upgrade and then they want you to pay $75 more to upgrade. I called AAA and they checked my membership and scheduled a tow. They said it would be at least 90 minutes because they had a lot of calls. I left the keys with the truck and got a ride home because it was 0 degrees out.

No one ever showed up and so I called them the next morning, I thought they were just overwhelmed with calls because of the temperature. They informed me that they canceled the call because my membership would have run out the day after I called them, which is the next morning and I am talking to them on the phone. I asked if I could pay now and would they re enter the call, they said no. They scheduled the tow, my membership was good, they never mentioned it was the last day of my membership. I handled it myself. I will never join their organization again. I will never buy memberships for family again. I will spend the rest of my days telling everyone I can get to listen how worthless a AAA membership is. They could have just said we can't help. CHP refused to respond. We would have been waiting hours if we did not call our own tow service and arrange pick up for ourselves.

AAA is not an emergency roadside service provider anymore. They are a yearly service you pay into for false sense of security. Tow companies do not respond to AAA because they do not pay them for their service. If they paid a fair amount tow companies would respond. Stop giving AAA money. They need to not be allowed to operate. They are only allowed to exist because they pay companies to remove negative comments and lobbyists pay politicians to allow them to steal from the public.
