Today, I learned my AAA membership was canceled back in March of 2026. I received no notification and only became aware by going to the AAA office in Glendale, CA to question why my AAA app signed out my account. The office was not able to assist me in resolving the matter but, informed me that my membership was canceled due to bad conduct. I regretfully took out an auto insurance policy through AAA in December of 2025. Because numerous mistakes were made by the agent, I issued a verbal complaint which is my right. In addition to that, I encountered an extremely unprofessional and extremely rude experience with two ** women. After speaking with the manager of the Burbank branch, a very nice ** Woman, all was clarified with my policy and automatic payments have been taken out of my account each month. We live in a age when complaining, especially when you're right is held against you.

There is an ongoing problem with ** employees of late. Just like the despicable ** police officer who made racists rants about AA and admitted how she purposely targeted ** people, this is the same scenario. These two young ** girls did not take kindly to having their misconduct pointed out so they no doubt saw to my membership being canceled. I spoke with my attorney about this because the actions of AAA were wrong and definitely wrong unwarranted and, I was never notified or given a chance to defend myself.

The damage that canceling my membership has done, as well as the negative position of my membership, legal actions can be taken. This matter needs to go public and now it will. This is an intended, calculated act towards me, initiated and conspired by two ** women. There needs to be consequences. I strongly encourage people to video tape all negative encounters they have while conducting business. AAA was once a reputable company but it has become one of the worst businesses around.

Sat. May 9th 9 pm. Dead battery at Oakland Airport. Call AAA. Get a recorded voice. Can't convey where I am or the problem. Sends me to a text link. I struggle to fill it out, hit send. No confirmation it was received. Luckily, a good Samaritan with jumper cables comes along. Gets me started. Then I'm unable to reach AAA to cancel. Give me a live person to talk to!

In the past year I had three experiences where I tried calling AAA, or another family member did. Each time we had to wait more than 3 hours stranded in the middle of sketchy areas. After leaving my 90-year-old mother stranded for over 3 hours that was the last draw... The agent have enough nerve to say do you want me to schedule the pickup for tomorrow.. I said I'm not leaving my elderly mom abandoned until tomorrow to wait on you guys. My family and I will no longer use AAA.

Keys locked in truck, called them, they were decently quick, but WOWZA! They’re expensive! Better just going with a local towing/repair company that has locksmith. I called and they were half the price and they had good reviews. I appreciate the time and how quickly it was done, but for the amount that it was is absurd.

This experience goes far beyond one bad towing company. Companies like this are small operators that only continue because major brands like AAA continue giving them the opportunity to represent their name and service standards. The most disappointing part of this entire situation is not just the towing company’s behavior it is AAA’s willingness to partner with and rely on providers that operate with such poor judgment, lack of compassion, and complete disregard for customer safety.

My daughter is an authorized add-on member on my AAA account. Around 11 PM, while alone, she accidentally locked her keys inside her car and contacted AAA for assistance exactly what the membership is supposed to be for. When the driver arrived, they refused to help because I was not physically present. Had this been a tire change or jump start where she had access to the membership card, additional verification may have made sense. But the keys, identification, and access to everything were locked inside the vehicle. I personally called and asked if they could verify the account directly through AAA or over the phone. Instead of making any reasonable effort to help, they refused entirely and left my daughter stranded alone at night.

At that point, the responsibility shifts beyond the towing company and directly onto AAA. When you allow contractors like this to operate under your brand, their behavior becomes your responsibility. Customers are trusting AAA to send qualified, professional, and reasonable help during vulnerable situations. What we experienced was the complete opposite. AAA needs to seriously reevaluate the standards, oversight, and accountability of the companies representing them because this experience did not reflect safety, customer care, or common sense.

I accidentally locked my keys in my trunk while loading packages late in the evening. I immediately called AAA, filed a report and was notified they were working on it. I was out of town and single. I waited outside of the restaurant where I had met friends for dinner, and it started to rain! 20 minutes later I was told they couldn't come at all until the next day. AAA asked several times if I was waiting in a safe area! Did they expect me to stay outside of a restaurant, that was closing, all night?? I ended up getting someone on my own and paying a LOT OF MONEY to get my car unlocked. I will NOT RENEW my membership. This is completely unacceptable.

Called roadside assistance for a dead battery. The tech jumped the truck then installed a positive battery terminal and fried the truck's computer control module. The truck was towed to the dealership where it was diagnosed and the module could not be found anywhere. AAA did not help at all. The truck was at the dealership for months so we incurred rental car costs. I ordered a third party module that never worked right after installed….Engine light comes on with multiple error codes. AAA said it wasn’t their fault and closed the claim we had opened with them. The problem started with them jumping the truck so they were at fault. Not sure what to do at this point. I would like to reach out to upper management but every time I tried I got nowhere. They lost us as a customer and I lost all respect for them as a company.

Make sure your driver is towing or guiding you to a AAA approved shop. Take pictures of your vehicle including tires before you leave for the shop. Our tow driver did not put on our spare tire. He said it would be better to take it to a shop that could repair the tire. So he filled the tire and we followed him to a nearby shop, which turned out no to be AAA approved. They said they could not fix the tire and wanted us to buy a new one. My husband did not want to buy tires from them so they put the spare tire on at a cost of $30 to us. This would have been covered under AAA if our tow driver would have changed it in first place. In the process our lug nuts on the changed tire were traded out. We did not have pictures of the tires before they were changed so the shop would not replace with the original lug nuts.

I wanted to write a review about AAA. For years we had a AAA Roadside... Initially when we joined it was $50 a month 7 years later it was 5 times that. So we canceled it. We currently have an auto loan with them. They are very non customer oriented in there overall service. Slow, impersonal and difficult systems to assist a customer.

Today I contacted them to change our address from Kansas to Tennessee. The employee I spoke with said "I can't change or update your address". She told me she would have to send me a secure doucusign link. Then I would have to upload a utility bill of our new address. Next I would need to upload my TN driver's license. Then upload a picture of the back of the license. Lastly, I also had to take a selfie of me holding my license in my hand. This isn't customer service. It beauracratic stupidity and a poor business model. Remember when everyone loved to use them for travel and other services. We will never do business with a company so tone deaf. 🙄 Mark P Tennessee

Today I ran out of gas, along with losing my wallet, cash, cards, etc. I've had AAA for 5 years, I have them basic membership and I never called for service, while also religiously paying my membership dues. So today I called with a request for gas and explained that I'd lost my wallet and everything in it! The woman's name was Kimberley and she said no problem, you and your family have been great customers! No problem, we can give some gas at no cost, even with your classic membership. I was so thankful!.... Then I get a call back from her, saying oh no, we've changed our minds and now we're not going to send you gas now... I asked for a supervisor, his name was Gabriel (also wouldn't give his last name or his direct line.)

This man was worse than Kimberley; he had zero empathy for me, I'm 64, no regard for my safety, and it was clear he didn't care about my emergency at all.... and if you confront him, he will surely lie to you as he did me....To say this was traumatic for me would be an understatement. I'm not sure how you could possibly make this right.... I have hundreds and friends and family members just waiting for my word to cancel you.... I don't know how else I'll be satisfied unless you make this right!

After days I get an email stating no refund, no changing dates, no nothing. I lost about 300+dollars and AAA did not even care. I complain to the email and was forwarded the same response with the reply this issue has been closed.. How can they just don't care, don't even flinch at the most horrendous customer service I have ever received in my life..

I have been a AAA customer for 4 years. Used them twice for tows. BOTH times ended up calling another private tow company because they never showed up. Tonight, the second time I've needed their services, they have been telling me since 10:09 pm that they will be to me within 60 minutes. At 11;07, after I had waited the 60 minutes, they said driver dropping off tow and will be to me in about 60 minutes, AGAIN. After 60 minutes, the said 60 minutes to 90 minutes. At 1;09 I called them again and after extensive waiting on hold, they said driver is finishing up a tow and I am next but they would not say how long. I asked them to find out WHERE the driver was so I could get an estimate of how long to expect THIS time. I was put on hold AGAIn and when the representative came back on she said the driver is "finishing up a tow and should be calling you soon".

It is 3:39 am. No call or tow yet. I am AGAIN calling a private tow company. I called before I typed this review. The private company has arrived and is hooking up my vehicle as I finish typing this. 32 minutes from the time I called until his arrival. $156.00. WHY am I paying AAA for NO SERVICE and HOURS of AGGRAVATION??? Cancelling my membership asap AND my family members will also.

My experience was terrible. They gave me such a hassle for a simple lockout even after I provided proof of my membership. I ended up using roadside assistance that was included with my car insurance that AAA could have done in 2 minutes but instead decided to be difficult. I canceled my service after this experience. It's pointless for people to buy this service when your insurance company most likely offers the same service with less hassle especially after paying for a membership. With your insurance you don't have to worried about the employees giving you a hard time like AAA does. AAA is a waste of money. I recommend going buying roadside assistant service from your insurance. It will make your day 10 times better than calling AAA.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with AAA Roadside Service. My elderly father was left stranded at a gas station for over five hours waiting for a tow truck, with little to no clear communication or urgency from AAA’s team. This was not only frustrating, but also deeply concerning given his age and the circumstances. Roadside assistance should provide peace of mind, especially for vulnerable customers, but this experience did the exact opposite. Leaving an elderly person sitting for hours without proper updates or timely service is simply unacceptable. I expected far better from a company with AAA’s reputation and not to mention my father has been with AAA since 1999. This situation caused unnecessary stress, discomfort, and concern for our family. I am beyond upset with how poorly this was handled and hope serious improvements are made so no one else has to go through the same experience.

This service is a joke; they come out with a policy based on the day you schedule the service. I scheduled a towing service for 1pm 4/23/26 and when I got home at 4 pm, my car was not there. I called to find out and was told the request was never made, even though the customer service agent told me I was all set for my car to be towed. I called back to ask what happened, and they said they could not find the request in the system. I submitted another request on the same day, was given a time frame, but then called to check, only to be told it would be at a different time. I had to cancel because I couldn't wait any longer at night. The next morning, 1/24/26 I was told that since I wasn't with the car, it would take 24-48 hours to be picked up. What a shame—wasted two days and time. I had to pay for a taxi to go back to where my car was parked and drive it myself with brake issues since I needed to go to work as soon as possible.

I AM GIVING AAA a "ONE STAR" rating BECAUSE a "ZERO STAR" rating IS NOT AVAILABLE!!!! AAA will LIE TO YOU to get you to join!! I spent over an HOUR online and on the phone with a AAA rep researching whether AAA could provide SAME DAY battery replacement service AT MY CURRENT LOCATION if I joined today and paid an "Urgent Fee" to avoid the 48-hour waiting period otherwise. The rep suggested getting the AAA credit card to save money on membership and CASH BACKS, so I signed up for that as well but ONLY AFTER being GUARANTEED BY THE REP that I could get this service today. I applied for the credit card, purchased an annual membership from the rep, PAID THE $60 URGENT FEE, and was then passed to the Roadside Assistance section to schedule my service.

That agent proceeded to tell me we were not eligible and passed me back to a "Carolinas AAA" rep again. That rep then told me I was, in fact, NOT ELIGIBLE for this serivce due to the service being needed "out of their area" EVEN AFTER THE PREVIOUS REP GUARANTEED I COULD BEFORE PURCHASING THE MEMBERSHIP!! I was then passed to a "Resolution Specialist" where I was finally able to get that rep to CANCEL EVERYTHING I just spent the past hour doing with AAA. INTERESTING NOTE: Takes ONLY SECONDS to get a confirmation of new membership, but TAKES DAYS to get confirmation of CANCELLATION??!! SHADY, AT BEST!!!

I waited and waited. 2 hour later, I called AAA back. AAA said that the dispatcher canceled the tow because AAA called the shop, and said the shop could have fixed the vehicle, that's why AAA can't tow it back home. I had to fork up $340.
