Have the premium membership and have tried to get my truck towed 6 times in the past month just to have them cancel last minute every time. Horrible. Just horrible. Have waiting for hours and hours various times.

AAA is ridiculous!! I pay for a service that they fail to provide. I have been sitting on the side of the road for 2 hours waiting for a tow truck they say they can’t seem to schedule because they can’t find one. Meanwhile, I have watched the truck at the gas station beside me get towed within 30 minutes of breaking down. They had no problem finding a tow, but AAA can’t seem to.

We've had AAA for years. This was not only the fastest arrival but the nicest guy ever. RJ checked my battery and gave me suggestions on how to get my car working again. From the time I ordered the tow to dropping the car off at the mechanic it was under 60 minutes. That's amazing service.

Please do not trust them with your life insurance or any other senior citizen benefit. They are not trustworthy! They can’t even schedule a tow!! Save your money and get out of their subscription!!!

Unfortunately AAA service has really gone downhill. I have had AAA roadside membership for several years and these last couple years it has declined badly. Today I called to have them come replace a dead battery in my car, which they have done in the past. And I would pay for the battery and lose one of my allotted tows for the year. Well after waiting for hours I called to see what was going on to find out that they don't do that in my area anymore and asked if I wanted it towed somewhere. Ya right! It was now 4pm on a Friday so there's nowhere to tow it to now. And were they ever going to let me know all of this?? So I just wasted the whole day when they could have informed me hours ago that they couldn't help me. So I don't think I will be renewing my membership. Another business that seemed to decline after the pandemic I think. Very sad because they used to be very reliable in the past.

Signed up for a membership because I was stuck on the side of the highway in 95 degree heat. Was told the tow truck would get there in 30 minutes. 2.5 hours later it came. Then was called I had to pay an additional 60 to start my service today. Then was called to say I had to pay an additional 64 because they would only tow it 5 miles or less. Then was told I only had THREE services left. None of this was explained when I signed up for this scam of a membership. Bought a new car a week later got 2 flat tires. AAA said 15 minutes I got numerous calls saying driver on the way, driver 15 minutes away, driver 45 minutes away driver 5 min away multiple times. 3 hours later tow truck came. Had the wrong address to where to tow it to so good thing I double checked. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE and unreliable. No accurate information was ever given to me.

My journey with AAA began around 11:30 Thursday, June 25, 2026. It is now after 3:30. Triple AAA was a part of my package when I bought a new vehicle from Hyundai. I’ve used AAA in the past and sometimes I’ve had excellent results coming in a timely fashion and other times they were horrible. Well this particular time on June 25 as I stated earlier, I called to have my battery charged. Well a non-fleet driver came. Very rude and nasty. HE had the AAA logo on the vehicle, but he was not a fleet driver from AAA. When he approached me he said he to needed my VIN number in order to to charge my battery, which I thought was odd. And I told him no. He said he needed the VIN number in order to charge the car he started, mumbling some nasty words, and I said to him excuse we were in shock. So this is my second encounter with him. He was not a fleet driver from AAA. He had AAA and another company name on his vehicle.
The next problem is a lot of the representatives are very helpful but then it just appears that one hand doesn’t know what the other hand is doing because they keep calling saying someone will be there in 30 minutes. 30 minutes. 30 minutes. 30 minutes and now 4 hours have passed. Aaa called and questioned me about the whereabouts of the vehicle. I said to them, "You have all of that information." She state, "I don’t have anything except for your name," so it appears that there’s a bunch of confusion at AAA. A fleet driver arrived around 350-ish. His name was Philip. It’s courteous and very professional.

AAA is the worst roadside assistance company thus far. I waited almost 4 hours for someone to come when they told me it would take an hour and a half. Each time I called in they said 30 more minutes which turned into another hour and another hour and another hour. Worst experience ever. Not worth being a member.

Been a member for 40 years. Rarely had to use the service and when I have it has been great until recently. Twice in the last week I had to wait over 2 hours on a busy highway for service. I am currently waiting for service now 2 hours and 15 minutes and still waiting. Either the company is having a bad week or it has truly gone way downhill. Seriously considering canceling my membership.

They refuse to honor multiple requests to remove my family from their mailing lists. I don't understand how they think that continuing sending junk mail to someone who has explicitly demanded that they stop doing so is good business practice.

They got a star only because the lady who helped me cancel service was very pleasant. I will shorten this dramatically. First call for a tow for my daughter took them 3 hours to get to her. She was located in town at approximately 3:00pm perfect weather conditions. Second call for assistance 2 years later was for a tire change because her new vehicle was missing the jack. It was 5:30pm, perfect weather conditions and she was in town. She called me at 8:30pm to let me know she and my 3 grandchildren had been waiting for help for 3 hours [after asking why she waited so long].
I called AAA. After being lied to and false promises made at 9:45pm AAA suggested we leave keys in vehicle under the seat and they would have driver pick up and tow to our specified location [for a tire change???]. We called someone else to come out. Over 4 hours on the side of the road. Totally, totally, totally unacceptable!!! And my story about extended wait times is only 1 of thousands with aaa, yes lower case on purpose. Company is terrible. Competitors including the number 1 rated road side assistance co. out there seem to have almost the same number of similar complaints about wait times. Do your research!! Probably better to pay out of pocket, the providers are then responsible to you directly and are probably getting paid better by you for their service than they get paid by the roadside service company. Money motivates. Good luck.

I have been a member of this AAA Platinum for 30 years since 1996. Not only have I only use a service one time and it took three days to get my vehicle home while renewing yesterday I noticed that I had to check a box for motorcycle and pay more money. I thought this card belonged to me no matter what I'm driving? Now I'm being told that a flatbed is needed for a motorcycle. Well a flatbed is needed for my f-450 super duty as well. The representative tells me that my truck is not even covered with this crappy service so all these years I have been wasting my money for completely useless service. Never again will I stay loyal to a service who is not loyal to me.

I was a member of AAA for over 40 years. When I requested a tire change service, I was refused. I had requested service earlier. The individual who came out then became belligerent when my son came out of the house to observe. He went off on my son, saying why couldn’t a grown man like him change the tire. Well, my son was just visiting and didn’t have the tools to change the tire. The serviceman stormed away mumbling without changing the tire. I called later to request the same service, and AAA refused to service me, stating that they did not want to endanger the serviceman when he was the one that became belligerent. AAA believed the serviceman over myself, a long-time, loyal member. AAA did not take the time to investigate the incident, even though I had proof that the serviceman was in the wrong.

I signed up for AAA around 2015. I did not really use any of the supposed benefits, so I cancelled membership after a year or two. I did not realize that they were automatically billing me renewal fees; my fault for not reviewing my credit card statements closely enough. However, I did see at the beginning of June 2026 that there was a renewal charge on May 1, 2026. I called on June 4 and was told the charge would be removed within 2 weeks. It was still there as of June 22, so I called back. I was then told that the request for a refund was denied because it was past June 1, one month after the charge. I was not even notified that the refund was denied.
Let this be a warning to everyone. Don’t sign up for AAA; your insurance probably covers charge for towing. Don’t let them do an automatic renewal; based on what I experienced, they will keep doing it even if you quit. I have only written something like this about a business 2 or 3 times in my over 50 years, but the audacity and gall of their attitude has gotten me upset enough to post this wherever I can.

AAA is by far the worst towing company to exist from not being able to help me the night of my wreck to not repaying me for the tow truck. I had to call that night and now telling me they can’t wench a truck up that has a front tire messed up. How do these people make money you ask? They take your membership fees and do nothing for you ever, if they can’t get you out of a wreck what are they even here for? An embarrassing slow un-needed company.

I had such a horrible experience with AAA today. Needed a tow for a flat tire (no spare) and could not seem to get through to a person. AI did not seem to understand what I needed. If you can’t get to a person what’s the point of having AAA? They owe me $175 for a tow. Are they just using AI now with no real people?

Long time AAA member, but today I was sadly disappointed. Car stopped running in turning lane. I called AAA, and the first agent was totally incompetent. After carefully spelling out city and street location several times, he confirmed that request was in the system. A few minutes later, I received a call because the pick up location was apparently over 250 miles from the drop off location. The first agent had the address totally wrong! Finally, request was made to the correct location, and I received a confirmation text. Followed up by a text stating that the request had been cancelled. After that was straightened out, I received a text that the driver was at the location. No driver to be seen. AAA had sent him incomplete information. Fortunately, the driver called me directly, and we worked it out. The driver was great - everything else about the experience was terrible!!!

AAA is a waste of money, my car wouldn't start and the customer representative recommended a shop she said id get a discount from. I didn't think this shop would be to far away, she did tell me how far but she left out the part where id be paying extra for the tow which is supposed to be free with my membership. So I get sent 30 minutes away from my location and 40 minutes from my home which I now have to Uber too to go get the car, so that's even more money AAA is costing me. Then we get to the shop and because AAA doesn't know the prices of the shops they work with I was charged 140 JUST for diagnostics. So before my cars even looked at AAA has cost me 200 dollars when triple A is somehow supposed to be saving me 200 a year by having them.
I talked to a member from higher up the chain of command and basically I got a long polite speech of how my problems were not her problems and they don't have diagnostics prices from the shops that THEY recommend, also the extra miles I got sent over by a shop they recommended? Apparently I'm supposed to stop what I'm doing, look at how far that shop is on Google maps, and tell them while on the phone if the shop is to far over my miles and I can't afford it. If you're reading this review take what I say to be the truth, they will just cost you money, they don't care and they won't reimburse you for any of it, and memberships are pointless. Take your money elsewhere and save it, I know I'm not saving any money by being a member for over 5 years, you won't either.

They kept telling me basically giving me the runaround, I would never recommend this company to anyone. I'm out three hundred and seventy five dollars 375$$.

Have called several times. Have a bad battery. Wanted replaced. First guy came and jump started it. Did not test it. Said to keep running for up to an hour. Didn't put in new battery. Car went dead after driving it for 40 minutes. Called again. Second guy came. Didn't know what he was doing. Came without a battery. Left abruptly. Treated me badly. Called again. Got customer service. Dajana with customer service very unhelpful. Asked for supervisor. Got Octavia. She wanted to argue, but did make an appt. For next day for them to install a battery. Window of 10:30 to 12:30. Next day No show. I called again. Spoke with customer service this time Sabrina. Sabrina said Octavia never really made the appt. Sabrina put in for another service call. No one came again.
Later Sue called from customer service and stated my battery is good. No it's not. And also sue stated that triple AAA has no batteries and I will have to wait for them to order one. Do not pay for aaa. Do not use this service. Waste of money. I have used AAA for years and in the last few years they have gone downhill. If you are stranded on the side of the road. They won't come!! Might as well call someone else.

I am a 66 year-old retired custodian of 27 years. I am disabled in my shoulder. I tore my rotator bone out of my shoulder which left me 7% permanently disable. I purchased a premier RV membership last December AAA. I have a car. I have a motor scooter and I have a Harley Davidson sportster. I live in West Kentucky. The borderline of Tennessee is not about 25 miles away. Or I should say 5 miles away from the Tennessee border. I have lived in this area all my life. It’s West Tennessee and West Kentucky. I live in Kentucky. A good friend of mine and I he’s a 85 year-old Vietnam veteran. He is decorated.
We traveled over in Tennessee 25 miles from my home to eat. I need my tire had a leak in it and I filled it up before I left and when I got to the place, we was dining at it went flat. All I needed Was someone to our my tire up. I have a digital air compressor, which I left on a charger because the battery was down so I called AAA and they would send someone shortly. I will try to talk to them on the phone. I would get disconnected or lost in the shuffle. I talked to their automated service and sent message constantly. Our Tech man will be there in 5 to 7 minutes and they never came. We sat there for over three hours and nobody showed up. Just an air tire up. I would hate to think if it would be anything very seriously we sat there until they finally closed the restaurant around us and it was humid and a thunderstorm.
Finally, I had to call my very own Cousin to come and air my tire up. He had one of them little battery operated air compressors. He is like me, disabled. I managed to get the air compressor hooked up to air my tire up and they never called. They said they would let me know. I have the emails to prove it on my telephone. I never was a shocked in my life that I could not even get a tire L aired up. I have auto pay enrolled on this service. As soon as I got back home I turned out automated pay off. I will never ever recommend these people for anything. If you wanna get a runaround and talk to a customer service representative you’re just in dreamland if they talk to you, they will put you on hold and cut you off. Another word's forget it. I beg them to come to my tire up. No response, no calls. I sat there from 330.
Finally got home and my home in Kentucky at 8:30 at night. The young lady finally called me which I do not blame the ones on the telephone. I know they try to get people to service your needs. But this was the biggest waste of money I ever spent in my life. I think I paid over $160 for all three of my vehicles for nothing and I mean nothing. Very sad to do a senior citizen and a Vietnam veteran and do not care if they are stranded.

At 8 pm, I got a call that it would be at least another 1.5 hours. AAA is useless. I'm going to cancel my membership as soon as I can.
