My sister has CarShield. My car is getting older, so I wanted to see if I can get a warranty. The process of signing up for CarShield went smoothly, and I received my contract in the mail without any issues. However, I didn't know that certain things were included in it until I got that thing that came in the mail. I know normal wear and tear wasn't included. But I didn't know that the electric windows were included in it. Everything else was fine.

I signed up with CarShield around six months ago and my overall interaction has been quite straightforward, largely consisting of receiving information through the mail without much direct engagement.

My customer service experience when signing up was adequate. It feels fair to rate my experience as positive, but without having submitted a claim, I can't label it as excellent.

Signing up with CarShield was straightforward and not difficult at all. Although I felt a bit unsure initially, the representative's communication cleared up those concerns. They explained the program and coverage well, which helped me feel more comfortable.

The reason I opted for CarShield is related to a family situation. I received an old car from my aunt after my uncle passed away. The car was sitting for a couple of years, and I wanted to ensure it was covered if anything went wrong. One of my brothers told me about CarShield, and based on that, I decided to go for it.

I think it's crucial to have extended coverage for an old car like mine, and I'm satisfied so far with my choice. I didn't have any prior information about CarShield before signing up – I went with my relative's word, and it seems to be paying off. Overall, my experience during the initial phase was positive, and I'd rate the sign-up process a 4 out of 5.

The price that CarShield offered was good which was why I picked them. I had them for about five years and the claims process was easy for me. I just went to my mechanic, and the shop handled the communication with CarShield. This seamless process with minimal direct interaction was convenient unless there was a price difference on parts, but they usually offered alternatives.

To anyone considering an extended warranty, I'd say CarShield is the best in town. I've even recommended it to my daughter, who used them for some time as well. Compared to other warranty services, CarShield stands out to me. My experience has been so positive that I'd definitely recommend them to friends and family. If asked to rate them, I'd give them a strong score in terms of customer service, quality, and pricing—all consistently excellent.

I opted for auto pay with them since the beginning, which was a convenient choice they offered. Overall, I'm very satisfied with CarShield and the service they provide.

I came across CarShield through a TV ad and was pleased that it was rated with the Better Business Bureau. Pricing and coverage were decisive factors for me; CarShield offered an attractive price for the coverage essentials I needed. My car has over 100,000 miles, and the idea of future repairs was daunting, so having the coverage gives me peace of mind.

The sign-up process was smooth. The representative asked for my vehicle details to ensure everything was legitimate, provided me with a price quote, and explained the coverage comprehensively. I'm approved for the service as long as payments are made monthly, starting after a specified period or mileage from when I signed up.

If a friend or family member needed advice, I'd tell them to reach out to CarShield, have a conversation, and explore their pricing and coverage options. This experience has been reassuring so far, and I definitely recommend their service to others.

I was buying an older car and CarShield’s commercials helped me decide to go with them. My primary interest was in powertrain coverage, given my car's age. Unfortunately, my experience with CarShield was less than ideal. My policy was abruptly dropped when I needed it most, and they provided three different excuses for not covering my claim. This left me feeling ripped off, which led to eventually dropping their service. While some customer service interactions were alright, the claims management was very disappointing. Based on my experience, I would rate them a 1 out of 5, with the pricing aspect receiving a 2.

I heard an ad on the radio and I didn't bother looking at other warranty companies and directly chose CarShield. The sign-up process was straightforward, and the representative handling my subscription was knowledgeable and communicated well. CarShield offered unlimited mileage coverage, and I recall waiting about 30 days before being eligible to make claims, with the deductible decreasing after 90 days. I needed this extended coverage mainly because I was involved in a lawsuit with an earlier car warranty provider, and I wanted reliable coverage during and after this period. I would describe CarShield's offering as a solid insurance choice, mainly as a precautionary measure in case of vehicle breakdowns.

When I filed my first claim, the process was incredibly smooth. I was given three repair options and chose one seamlessly. Plus, getting a rental car was quick, with no hitches whatsoever. They repaired my car in a timely manner too, which added to my satisfaction.

I saw CarShield’s ad on TV and my extended warranty was nearing its end, so I decided to explore my options. It's been around five to six years now that I've been covered with CarShield.

My recent experience was when a sensor went out in my vehicle. The check engine light came on, and after identifying the faulty sensor, the mechanic contacted CarShield. They scheduled an appointment, and soon, the issue was resolved seamlessly.

When dealing with CarShield representatives, initially, you go through the usual pre-recorded phone prompts typical of so many customer service lines. However, saying "representative" seemed to expedite the process, and I managed to speak with someone live relatively quickly.

As someone who appreciates reliability, the thing I cherish most about CarShield is its dependability. As a widow, it's comforting to know that should a problem arise, I'm covered. I've recommended it to others, advising them to consider it before their manufacturer warranties expire. While some might think of the monthly payment as an extra expense, having coverage offers peace of mind, especially when a claim does arise.

While I appreciate their customer service, it's frustrating that CarShield doesn't cover my car horn repair, which seemed necessary to me, though they claimed it wasn't included under my policy.

Furthermore, I encountered a misunderstanding during a previous claim. I maintained the service with CarShield for about two months but I soon realized the costs were surprisingly high. My main concern was the deductible, which was a steep $1000. When my car needed a new water pump, rather than being shielded by the plan, I found myself paying out of pocket, as the repair cost almost matched the deductible. This experience made me question the value of the service.

I own a 2018 Ford Transit, and as a daycare owner, my vehicle's reliability is crucial. Any necessary repairs are urgent for me, but the high deductible left me opting to simply pay out of pocket rather than relying on the warranty. The difficulty of justifying this extra coverage when repairs wouldn't be financially sustained was noticeable. While I had both CarShield and another warranty service in place, I ultimately ended up handling the repairs myself at Tate Brothers dealership when faced with expenses not covered by the warranty.

In hindsight, this experience has deterred me from recommending CarShield enthusiastically. My personal rating would be marked quite low based on this encounter.

    Response from CarShield

We’re sorry to hear that the high deductible caused frustration, and we truly understand your concern, especially with the importance of your vehicle’s reliability as a daycare owner. We want to clarify that the $1,000 deductible applies only to breakdowns within the first 90 days of the contract. This is a standard safety precaution to ensure that claims are for issues that arise after the coverage starts, rather than pre-existing conditions.

We do not believe this to be the case here, but that is why the 90 day probationary deductible period exists, and we're genuinely sorry if this led to any confusion or additional costs on your end. We also understand how crucial it is to balance the cost of coverage with the value it provides, and we’re committed to making sure customers feel supported throughout their experience.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to improve your experience in the future.

I have an older car, and although it hasn't broken down due to my son's help with maintenance, I'm no longer in the same state as he is. I wanted to ensure I have some extra protection and when I initially called CarShield to get more information, they provided me with details on what would be covered and a price quote. My dad covers the expense, so I planned to discuss it with him before finalizing it. Due to him falling ill, I had to delay the decision temporarily. When I finally reached back out, they offered a more affordable rate than what I was originally quoted.

Regarding the sign-up process, I felt very satisfied. If I were to rate it out of five stars, I would say it's the best possible rating.

To anyone with an older vehicle, I'd highly recommend considering CarShield, especially if it's within your budget. Thankfully, my dad helps with the expenses, as I might not have been able to afford it on my own. It's definitely worth the coverage.

Generally, I find their customer service to be acceptable. When it comes to submitting a claim, my process involves calling CarShield and taking the vehicle to a repair shop from their network. Nevertheless, I prefer visiting other shops outside of CarShield's network, given my experiences.

Repair shops under CarShield's network do not utilize CarShield's parts; they source their own due to their warranties. This aspect is something that I'm not particularly a fan of. Yet, overall, I would rate my CarShield experience as a 4 out of 5.

My previous warranty had expired, and as my 2016 Dodge Durango had been an exceptional car with no major issues, I wanted the assurance of continued coverage now that it's surpassing 100,000 miles. CarShield was a recommendation from my employer's network so I got them.

The sign-up process was straightforward. I filled out the details online, and shortly after, a representative called to review various plans with me. The rep was not only knowledgeable but also exhibited a high level of professionalism, making the review process seamless and enjoyable.

I opted for two plans covering different parts: one focused on the drivetrain and another for broader coverage. This gives me peace of mind, ensuring if my vehicle breaks down, I won't face unexpected costs. I also appreciate the perks included in the plan, especially the coverage for rental cars, allowing me to choose my preferred mechanic when needed. I’m unsure if hotel stays are covered as well, but the rental car inclusion already adds significant value.

One standout feature of CarShield for me was the lack of an expiration date on coverage, unlike my previous plan, which had a limit of five years or a certain number of miles. With CarShield, my coverage is ongoing as long as I continue payments, making it a worthwhile investment. Overall, I would highly recommend CarShield, with a full score for my sign-up experience.

CarShield reached out to me with an offer when my previous car warranty was nearing expiration. Instead of renewing my old coverage, I went to them. I recently encountered an issue with my vehicle, which has been marooned at the garage without any support from CarShield for quite some time. They only covered a 7-day rental, leaving me to source other rentals at a substantial cost. Despite CarShield’s initial promises and seemingly advantageous deals, I've ended up paying significantly more out-of-pocket, including for multiple rentals and potentially covering the repair costs myself if they don't proceed with my claim.

Throughout this ordeal, the lack of clear guidance and support in resolving the issue with my car was frustrating. My previous warranty provider would have handled everything much more swiftly. With CarShield, I'm caught in an endless loop of delays and stipulations that are costly and time-consuming. They initially mentioned broader coverage, yet my efforts to justify the repairs with documentation weren't accepted. Despite showing bank statements and collaborated purchase details for the car’s maintenance, I haven’t received any clarity regarding the claim. For anyone considering CarShield, my advice would be to tread cautiously as my personal transition to this service hasn’t delivered the anticipated peace of mind; rather it has felt like a regrettable decision due to the service lapses and unexpected hurdles.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion regarding your claim. After further review, it appears the delays have been related to the engine replacement that occurred 2.5 years ago, as well as the absence of consistent maintenance records since then. Our claims team must follow thorough procedures to ensure the vehicle has been properly maintained for breakdowns to be eligible for coverage.

Unfortunately, some of the records submitted were difficult to read, faded, or missing key service details. We’re more than happy to assist you in moving forward, provided that the necessary information can be verified and the breakdown is not due to a lack of maintenance. Additionally, we would need the tow records to confirm the details, as you mentioned the vehicle was towed in, but the nature of the breakdown suggests it may have occurred on the road, though the vehicle was noted as being towed from home.

If you need further clarification on the required information, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We're here to help and want to ensure this process goes as smoothly as possible.

When my car needed new sensors to pass an emissions test, the Subaru dealership informed me they didn't accept CarShield. I paid $1,240 out-of-pocket for the repair because the problem wasn't detectable by diagnostic tests, given there were no warning lights. The knowledgeable mechanic at Subaru identified the issue without needing a machine diagnostic, while other places couldn't find anything wrong because the diagnostics showed nothing. Prior to this, I had already spent $1,200 on another repair, which prompted me to wonder why I pay for CarShield coverage if I'm continuously paying for major car expenses myself. I decided to inquire about reimbursement for this latest expense, but the dealership indicated they don't work with CarShield due to past difficulties in getting paid.

I'm determined to contact CarShield about this, but if I can't recover my costs, I plan to end my contract. It seems unfeasible to keep paying for a service that hasn't offered the support I'm paying for. If no changes happen regarding how and what they cover, there's little point in continuing with them given my continuous financial outlay for my car repairs.

I recently faced a challenge with CarShield when I had to get a caliper replaced on my car. The whole experience was quite a nightmare. Initially, there was a delay because the facility didn't immediately contact CarShield to get approval for the repair, which resulted in my waiting the entire day without my vehicle. They had my car from 4:30 PM on one day until 6 PM the next. In addition, CarShield hadn't yet paid the facility their dues.

One of my main concerns is that CarShield only paid $117 for a part, while the facility charged $250, leaving me to cover the difference out-of-pocket. This wasn't something I expected, especially as it isn't highlighted in their advertisements. It felt like a double whammy since I’m also paying a monthly fee for the coverage and there’s a deductible on top of all this.

While I have used CarShield multiple times without a hitch, this experience was particularly frustrating. I had to intervene to keep the process moving, yet even by the end of the day, the bill hadn't been settled because CarShield hadn't processed the payment.

Normally, I would recommend CarShield but this particular experience made me reconsider. I'm contemplating looking into other warranty options. Despite previous satisfactory experiences, this encounter has left me sitting in the middle of a triangle between CarShield and the facility, each side not facilitating communication effectively with the other regarding approvals and payments.

Overall, I would rate my experience as a three or four since CarShield has generally been reliable in the past, but they've demonstrated a need for improved communication and quicker response actions when it comes to payment and approvals to the repair facilities.

    Response from CarShield

We’re truly sorry to hear that your recent claim didn’t go as smoothly as your previous ones, and we completely understand your frustration with the delays and unexpected costs.

We want to clarify that while we do our best to process claims and payments promptly, the repair facility is responsible for initiating contact with us to begin the approval process. Delays in doing so can unfortunately extend the time your vehicle is out of service—something we understand is incredibly inconvenient but is ultimately outside of our control.

Regarding pricing, CarShield approves payments based on nationally recognized labor and parts pricing guides to ensure fairness and consistency. When a facility charges above those industry-standard rates, the difference is not covered under the contract. We realize this can be disappointing, especially when the expectation is full coverage, but our goal is always to provide clear and reasonable support in line with the terms of your plan.

Your feedback about the communication breakdown is important and something we take seriously. We’re committed to improving our processes and ensuring that our customers don’t feel stuck between the facility and us.

I was looking for a warranty that was both easy to use and affordable and I compared CarShield with other companies, and found their pricing to be the best option for my needs.

The sales agent who assisted me was excellent. He was straightforward and provided all the necessary information without any unnecessary fluff, which I really appreciated. I'm also happy to report that I received the hard copy of the contract in the mail, and it's safely stored away in my file cabinet for future reference.

The only issue I encountered was a technical one with their app. My company email, which is quite short at "bv.com," wasn't being recognized as valid by the app, although it worked fine on their website. This was a bit frustrating until I figured out that the app rejected emails that didn't have more than two letters in the domain. Thankfully, I've managed to work around it by using the website instead.

Despite that hiccup, the sign-up process was quite smooth overall. Once you get past the app issue, everything is pretty straightforward.

I reached out to CarShield and the deal that they offered was very promising. Their price was very reasonable and I couldn't let that pass. At the time, I needed coverage for my truck, and although I can't quite recall how I initially came across CarShield, I was likely influenced by something I saw online or received via email. What really sealed the deal for me, though, was the service representative I spoke with. Her customer service was outstanding, and she was truly persistent, which I respected.

I finalized everything with CarShield over one phone call, thanks to her diligence. She made sure I was thoroughly informed and didn’t try to end the call until everything was set up, which I appreciated. I did receive the hard copy of my CarShield contract, and though my policy's just about 30 days old and hasn't yet kicked in, knowing I have this coverage is reassuring. They offered an auto-pay option, which was part of their promotion, and that helped ease the process.

For friends or family curious about my experience, I would highlight their great customer service. The representative was above and beyond, ensuring everything was clear and well-handled. When considering my experience, the cost, the information provided, and the service I received, it's easy for me to confidently give CarShield a high rating for their service up to this point.

I was hoping for reliable extended coverage for my classic Mercedes Benz and I saw many commercials for CarShield so I thought I’d give it a try. My initial experience was smooth, with a courteous representative who detailed the benefits and made the signup straightforward. I was told that with the age of the car, the only thing they could cover was the powertrain. I said it was fine. However, my issues began a few months later when my car, after sitting for winter, showed a convenient service light.

The service center traced it to a problem with the timing belt, and when I reached out to CarShield, I was informed they wouldn't cover the repair due to it being deemed a pre-existing condition, something I disputed strongly. After escalation, the decision remained unchanged. This experience left me very dissatisfied, and I would advise friends and family to reconsider CarShield’s offerings, as their follow-up services proved disappointing.

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand your frustration. After a thorough review of your claim, we found that several factors influenced the decision. Please know that this decision was not made lightly, as our primary goal is to assist our customers with unexpected repair costs.

However, as part of our policy, we do have a waiting period in place to ensure that customers are not signing up for coverage to address pre-existing issues. While we do not believe this was the case here, the waiting period is designed to prevent such situations.

Based on the details you provided, such as the breakdown occurring a week prior to the vehicle being brought to the shop, the fact that the vehicle has been stationary and not driven since November, the mileages reported on the Carfax, the vehicle not having been maintenanced in 12 months and the nature of the major engine issue, the breakdown falls within the waiting period of your contract, making it ineligible for coverage.

We fully understand if this is unclear, and we’re more than happy to provide further clarification. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call so we can discuss your coverage in greater detail and help address any questions you may have.

I've been paying for a lot of repairs over the years and thought there's something better out there. I ultimately chose CarShield and my decision was influenced by frequent advertisements and the need for a safety net against unforeseen expenses. Over the past couple of years, CarShield has generally been reliable, providing prompt responses whenever I've run into issues with my car. The main delay I've encountered is usually from the repair shop's end rather than CarShield itself.

Most recently, my car needed attention for vibrations, and while communication from the repair shop about what was fixed is often minimal, the coverage from CarShield ensures the essential repairs get handled. I was a CarShield customer for 5 years covering my 2013 F250 SD Diesel. My check engine light came on and I took it to the local Ford dealership where I purchased the truck. I told the service department that I had a CarShield mechanical warranty and he immediately told me that they did not accept a CarShield Warranty as they were extremely difficult and time consuming to deal with. I finally convinced the dealership to try to submit my claim and CarShield declined my claim as they said my EGR cooler (the reason for the check engine light) was not a covered component. So, I had to pay $2,500.00 for the repair.

My CarShield Warranty had cost me about $110.00 / mo. After 5 years, the total I wasted with them was $6,600.00. I immediately canceled my policy and I'm putting the $110.00 into a bank account designated for vehicle maintenance. You will be better off doing this than giving CarShield your money thinking that a check engine light problem is covered. In my opinion, they are very misleading in their advertising!! DON'T FALL FOR THEM LIKE I DID. Create a savings account and save your money for the breakdown. You'll be glad you did.

So the work was finished before they could approve the claim, and it was denied. Paid for their service for about five years, with no other claims, and they refused to honor their phony service. I took my car in for repairs and a claim was filed by an auto shop off their list on 4/3/2025. The claim was immediately denied because no failure code could be provided even though my car shot warnings of overheating and had to be towed into the shop. I requested a rental car due to the extended time and back and forth calls as that is something covered on my policy. I was denied a car and told that a claim had to be approved before a rental car could be arranged.

After numerous attempts to be connected to a supervisor (who never called) I filed an appeal. I called to get a status on that appeal and was told "sorry, there is no appeal on file." I got in contact with an adjuster with the car shop on the phone. The adjuster stated that they would have to do a "tear down" to prove that the thermostat needed to be replaced. Per those demands, the shop went ahead and did just that. Day of, they sent the photos of the damage and requested approval for a part that is covered under my policy. Instead of an approval, they denied my claim, AGAIN. Now stating that because the thermostat was removed from the vehicle, they wouldn't cover the part. The shop followed the exact instructions that the adjuster gave over the phone, on a recorded line, with both myself and the car shop on the line.

I again requested a call back because the claim was with escalations. I was contacted by a rep who was able to get me a rental car for a week while my case was reviewed by escalations. I have had the car for 6 days as of today. The car shop and myself called CarShield again and spent hours of our time on hold and speaking with an adjuster who reviewed the case from beginning to end and stated, "oh yeah, we dropped the ball." The claim was FINALLY approved - this is for a COVERED PART on my policy. A month of back and forth and inappropriate denials. Now that the claim is approved after being denied and ignored, the shop can start to work on the repairs.

I called and requested an extension of the rental car while the repairs are being done and was denied that too. When speaking to "customer service" I am read the same line like a parrot. I request to speak to a supervisor or the previous rep that arranged the rental car to review my case and see that Carshield is responsible for the delays and distress and no one provides any assistance. I am completely fed up with this company and their lack of abiding by a contract that I have with them. Steer clear. In late Jan 2025, our 2016 Cadillac Escalade's 6.2-liter engine started making a funny sound. We had the Cadillac towed, at our expense, to our mechanic to diagnose. He notified us our engine's lifters were shot, so we called CarShield. Here's where our nightmare began... A note about our car. Our 2016 Escalade is kept in our garage. Its exterior/interior is constantly cleaned (during the winter we maintain monthly membership at the local car wash so no hand washing), all maintenance is performed on time, the engine block is cleaned once a quarter, and leather is treated as needed. You’d swear it just came out of the factory; it’s that well maintained.

The first thing Car Shield requested was our maintenance records on our Cadillac, which we emailed them within 5-6 hours. A week later, we were assigned claims adjuster Travis, who contacted my husband and was shocked at our records and how well maintained our vehicle was over the past two years. Travis then contacted our mechanic to discuss repair options. After some back and forth over the next 10 days, Car Shield finally agreed that our mechanic could replace the lifters only; but not the engine as our mechanic proposed (he noted several other integral engine components as degraded/needing replacement). At this point, it was already the end of February. Once our mechanic received the necessary parts and reassembled the car, he hooked it up to the diagnostic machine, which denoted a weak alternator issue.

After another week of back and forth with Car Shield, our mechanic received approval to replace the alternator on March 6. Once the alternator was installed on our Cadillac, our mechanic began testing again and noted blue smoke coming out of the exhaust and low engine oil pressure. This was on March 11. Keep in mind that from the very beginning, our mechanic diagnosed during the disassembly of our engine that there were enough indicators that we would need a new engine. He left several messages for Travis again. On March 14, we contacted customer service and requested a supervisor, since Travis wasn’t returning phone calls to either our mechanic or us. On March 18, we finally heard back from Travis, who had been out of the office (apparently no one picks up the slack). More back and forth occurs, disagreements on how to proceed, insinuations to our mechanic that perhaps he doesn’t know his job, etc.

Today is March 28. We have been without our car for 9 weeks. Made 3 loan payments on our car. Unused insurance on a vehicle sitting at our mechanic’s shop outside in Ohio. Still no closer to a restored car that we can drive to work. We’ve made our warranty payments on time to Car Shield. But I guess we should have done our due diligence when researching warranty companies and checked out their business model. Did you know that Car Shield’s mission is “... to free our customers from the anxiety of unforeseen breakdowns and costly repairs. We achieve this through unmatched reliability, innovative products and services, and clear, honest communication.” (That quote is pulled directly from their website.)

If that’s the case, then Car Shield gets a big “F” grade on their mission. They speak to big commitments like “Customer-Centric Protection”; “Unmatched Reliability”, Innovative Solutions, “Commitment to Excellence”. Nice words: however, “inability to walk the talk” and “commitment issues” seems more appropriate to describe their business model. In fact, their website is loaded with 5-star testimonials. So perhaps we are the only customer in the USA that has had a bad experience with Car Shield? Buyer beware! Unless you have a dead battery that needs a charge or a flat tire to be repaired, this warranty is useless.

CarShield is one of the biggest scams in the warranty industry. They promise comprehensive coverage, but when you actually need them, they deny your claim with vague excuses and zero accountability. Their entire business model is designed to take your money while covering as little as possible. I’ve had two major claims denied, both of which left my car completely undrivable—and CarShield did absolutely nothing to help.

🔴 First claim: My vehicle had a Blue DEF system failure, which rendered the car completely inoperable. This is an essential system for modern diesel vehicles, and any real warranty should cover it. But not CarShield! They found some ridiculous loophole in their contract and denied my claim.

🔴 Second claim: My shift button broke, meaning I couldn’t get the car out of park. I was stranded for six hours, while multiple tow truck drivers tried to figure out how to move it. Once again, CarShield refused to help, leaving me stuck and footing the bill myself.

And when you call customer service? What a joke. Instead of offering any real assistance, they act as if you’re just too dumb to understand your coverage. They’ll offer to email you the contract again, as if that somehow justifies them screwing you over. It’s insulting and just another way they brush off their customers. The truth is, CarShield’s coverage is designed to sound good upfront, but the fine print is so full of vague language that they can deny almost any claim they want. The moment you actually need them, they’ll happily remind you that your specific issue isn’t covered, no matter how essential it is to your car’s function. They DO NOT care about their customers. They just want your money. 🚨 Save yourself the headache and put your money into an actual emergency fund instead. 🚨 CarShield is a scam, a fraud, and an insult to anyone who trusted them. It's going to cost me $3500. I'm very disappointed because car shield doesn't want to pay for it? I do not have $3500 to give them the OK for them to do it. They're trying to find any excuse for them not to pay for it. I'm very disappointed. But they have no problem taking my monthly payment.!!

Don’t waster your waste your money! CarShield made the decision to only replace one coil and leave the other damaged coils in my car until they “officially“ malfunction even when car technicians disagreed and suggested replacing all. I have been paying into CarShield since June 2024 and when my car needed service CarShield let me down. The company literally planned to have me on the side of the road due to not paying for what was needed on covered services. Nobody called me to explain even when I asked multiple times to speak with the person who made the decision. I even escalated for the decision to be re-evaluated because it was obvious to technicians that it wasn’t if there would be a problem but when.

My car stayed in the shop for 5 DAYS for something that took a few hours to complete, but waiting on CarShield took forever. I am a single female that drives very far to work daily. I am not trying to be freezing on the side of the road and I would expect the company that I pay into would care just as much due to the fact that I am a paying customer. In addition, part of your contract states that I need to provide suggested maintenance to my car based on needs. However, when a trained technician states that I need work done or parts replaced CarShield chooses to ignore it. This does not sit well with me. As a result, you have lost a customer for LIFE. I have nothing good to say to family members and friends that were interested in this company.

I would have given ZERO stars but it wasn't an option. I have had CarShield's ever since 2022 when I purchased my new to me 2015 Ford Escape Ti. I hadn't had any issues with the car until yesterday (02/10/25) when the vehicle reported a power assist steering fault (seek service). I immediately brought in the vehicle to my local dealership (while fighting the steering) only to find that Car Shield refused to cover the failure. They reported that the contract didn't cover steering, yet I know I requested full coverage (what I am paying for).

I checked their site to see their plans... Across their system, the steering gear box is not a covered item. The TV commercial shows coverage for everything, not just a couple of items... According to the repair facility it is roughly a 4,000$ repair... This is why I bought the coverage for events like this and now they won't cover it. The agent who I spoke with advised that since my car had over 100k miles it wouldn't be covered. I was transferred to the adjuster, and he advised if I wanted to add the steering coverage, then car shield would create a NEW contract, and they would see this event as a pre-existing condition and not covered. So now I am out a vehicle that I am not able to drop the cash to repair and since the failure has fallen from $5K to $500 across the board (when it's worth 5k), so now to look at another vehicle.

I requested an a refund just for the last two months they were stalling to notify me of their conclusion at $190 a month. They told me I had 30 days to cancel when I signed up to cancel. How do you know 6 months later you needed to cancel 30 days in. This ridiculous. They are crooks.

CarShield danced all around the subject and said that it wasn’t specifically covered but it was not specifically excluded either. They advised me to take my truck to a repair center to have the problem diagnosed and then they will decide if it is covered or not. The dealer who I bought my truck from advised me that they no longer accept CarShield because of the difficulty of getting CS to pay the dealer.

I checked CarShield's list of authorized repair facilities in my area and found almost of the ones listed are second tier repair shops located in small industrial areas and tire stores and a Pep Boys or two. I called a couple of the shops that were listed and was told to bring the truck and leave it for the day and I would have to pay the diagnostic fee which ranged from $225 to $275 upfront. If covered (and that is a big If), CarSheild would only pay for aftermarket parts. Looks like if I want my truck properly repaired at a Chevrolet dealership, I will be stuck paying for a $1,000 repair.

I have paid $111 a month for over two years, spent thousands of dollars in routine maintenance at the 60 and 75k mark to hold my end of the bargain and the first claim process was a nightmare. ECG valve which is ‘covered’. This is a petty and unscrupulous nickel and dime the customer operation. The true story, no embellishment, just brass tacks:

1 my ecg valve went out and I call Carshield and they say it’s covered. The car repair company tells me that Car Shield will not do the after market repair and that the part has to come from a dealer and under warranty. The dealer part was $400 more than the repair shops part (red flag 1). The repair shop said that’s odd because car shield always goes with the cheapest option and often won’t pay unless it’s an Obvious issue like a "cracked radiator” (red flag 2). I called car shield and they said that the repair was covered. I said that is not what the repair shop said. I asked the claims rep to put me on hold and call the repair shop and she said that ‘they don’t do that’ (red flag 3). She then used my last name in a snarky tone and hung up on me (red flag 4).

Car shield adjuster called me and told me that only $29-$35 dollars (.3) of the $100 diagnostic fee was covered (red flag 5). At this point I realized this was a shady company. You can’t make this up, .3 of the diagnostic! He then tells me I have to pay the labor (this was never told to me by the shady sales rep, he also quoted me a $75 deductible, it’s not, it’s a $100). The auto shop calls me and says that car shield is paying $67 of the total claim and I am paying $218 (not $184). She laughed and said that is terrible. Yesterday I was charged $111 by car shield and they paid less than 33% of the claim today. If I had of put $111 into an account I would have $2500 to spend. Don’t do business with these people as they are not on the up and up. I am going to send this I Heart Radio, post on as many sites as possible to make sure my experience is heard.

Car Shield and like companies make for a very bad investment for consumers. Dealers who sell similar services are also ripping off the public. It is one of the most profitable portions of an auto dealership. I get amused when on TV Car Shield customers claim "I saved $4,000", "I saved $2,400", or "I saved $6,000". No you didn't. You only prepaid the cost through hefty monthly payments for the unlikely event that a huge car repair expense might occur. This is so profitable for car dealers that they sell customers a $2,000-$3,000 policy, and then sell the repair responsibility to another company at a fraction of that cost (10-20 percent) who then backs up the contract.

If these secondary companies can turn a profit by doing this, what does that say about the profit margin embedded in the original $2-$3K cost to the consumer. if you think you need this sort of protection, pay yourself by putting the monthly cost in an interest bearing bank account. It is more that likely you will be building yourself a nice little nest egg for your own use down the road.

Here's my BBB original complaint. CARSHIELD Denied my claim and canceled my policy. After months of stall tactics by the adjuster and fishing to find a way out of approving my repair claim he ultimately Denied it and canceled my policy! Great customer care CARSHIELD! I have had this policy for around 4 years on my 2008 F350. It was found to need an engine replacement due to a lower engine bearing knock. The expert at the reputable repair facility provided ample proof to carshield that the engine failure should be covered under my contract. The adjuster made many unrealistic and unrelated requests to determine the cause of failure to which the repair facility went above and beyond to comply with.

I was asked to also provide documents to which I complied with as well until finally I sent a demand email stating that I have been patient for over 2 months but this has been excessive and there has been sufficient evidence provided for a legitimate repair claim that needed to be covered under my policy. It seems that as a result of that email the adjuster then denied my claim and canceled my policy stating that "due to modifications (that were on my vehicle when I purchased my vehicle and the policy), this policy should have never been sold to you". Well it was sold to me and I purchased it in good faith for vehicle repair protection as advertised. However, when I purchased the policy, the sales person never inquired to see if l was aware of any modifications done to my vehicle. Now, I have a vehicle with a bad engine plus I'm responsible to pay the repair facility for work done to my vehicle at the request of the adjuster for carshield.

I need carshield to honor my repair claim and repair my vehicle immediately. Carshield, please don't waste more of my time with your standard automated response. Fix my vehicle and honor your advertised claim of "Drive with more peace of mind knowing that your budget and vehicle are covered from unexpected repairs". Carshield actually did respond with a generic automated response every time and they along with BBB considered the case closed.

Just be careful... I'm not saying they don't pay out some of their claims or that they aren't useful to some people... However, below is my personal experience with CarShield and their sister company as well. During the time I had CarShield they made numerous sales calls for their home coverage... In which I already had. As far as the car I had insured with them... I put my vehicle in the shop for something supposedly covered, however none of the 3 shops including a dealership were able to find the source of the problem. Just that it was electrical... They did not cover based on the fact that there was no finding. When they were contacted, they claimed there was no claims entered. I then cancelled the coverage when one of their salespeople called to get me to sign up for more products.

The next week I found out that they were billing me again for the next month. I called them back and they said they couldn't find anything from the call the week before canceling the product. That's not my fault the person didn't cancel it as they said they did. They even read me their little spiel about the cancelation... So, now they told me again they have cancelled it... But yet would not refund or stop the pending transaction from my bank for the next month's coverage of which I still cancelled. So, be careful both with claims and with cancelations. Get full first and last name and employee number of the person you speak with as well as require them to send a verification e-mail before getting off the phone. These are month to month no contract, so they have to cancel it when you ask. And make sure you get a claim number from the auto service you used that they filed the claim so they can't later deny the claim was filed.

If they couldn't cover because they didn't find the root cause... I'm ok with that... I'm not ok with them claiming they never received the claim. But since they later said they didn't get the cancelation on the last call it makes sense that that is their go to strategy for reasoning why they didn't do something they should have. They are also a little pricey to begin with and then to give you problems on top of it is just not called for.

My experience with CarShield has been excellent! When my car’s transmission unexpectedly failed, I was worried about the cost of repairs, but thankfully, CarShield had me covered. The claims process was straightforward and quick. I called their customer service, and they guided me through each step, making the whole situation much less stressful. The repair shop worked directly with CarShield, and I only had to pay my deductible. It was such a relief to know that I didn’t have to worry about unexpected car expenses. I highly recommend CarShield for anyone looking for reliable vehicle protection—it’s been a lifesaver for me!

Where to even begin? Approximately 6 months ago I elected to take a chance and sign up with CarShield. Quite frankly, I was surprised that they insured my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, which still looks like it's in showroom condition (because I have kept it in a garage for 22 years). But it was a stiff price at $139 a month, but I figured if something major goes wrong, I'd be out of a lot more. Well, sure as the sun rising each morning, my transmission went bad 6 months later and I took it to my local AAMCO Transmission where I live - and they accept Car Shield.

Now here is where the rat race began. To begin with, during week one, Car Shield was supposed to send out an adjuster to evaluate my transmission to make sure what AAMCO says was wrong, is true. But the adjuster never came, so we tried again the following week (we're now at week 2). The adjuster finally came, and seconded the fact that the transmission was gone - so all of us thought, OK, this should be it. Then they (Car Shield) waited another 4-5 days before requesting some additional photos of the drop pan and oil - OK, so now we're at 2.5 weeks (and my vehicle has been sitting there for this long). Finally they approved the transmission repair/replacement, but they didn't want to pay the money for AAMCO to order a transmission from their source. Rather, Car Shield told them that they were sending a transmission - which took another week.

So as of this writing (labor day weekend), the transmission finally arrived, but it will be another few days before they test and install the factory rebuilt one - now it's a month!!!! So my car had been sitting outside (covered with bird crap) for a month (not AAMCO's fault, as they had to play along with Car Shield). My cost was the $250 deductible as per my policy, plus an offset of what AAMCO charges for labor and what Car Shield was willing to pay (remember, the insurance company will always look for the cheapest route to go). So my total out-of-pocket cost was $694. In the end, I saved around $3500-$4000, which is not bad at all. But it was the run around, the constantly having to wait, etc., that soured the entire experience for me, so I'm currently torn over it all.

Now it's important to note that Car Shield will want all service records of your vehicle. Since I do my own oil changes (Mobil 1 synthetic only), and my friend, who is a retired Ford Mechanic, doing my transmission fluid changes, I didn't have anything official to show them. So I had to provide what I did in letter format - which they accepted. They (Car Shield) do check to make sure your fluids haven't been ignored (i.e. sludge in the engine), because if they see that you've abused/ignored vehicle maintenance on your car, they won't cover anything.

As for a car rental, Car Shield did pay for 2 weeks (no more than 14 days) of a car rental, but beyond that, you have to pay for a rental out of your own pocket (which I did). So that was another $376 out of my pocket because of the amount of time it took for Car Shield to approve and send a replacement transmission. So is it worth it to me? I've got mixed emotions on this one. After all, even though it took almost a month to get a final decision, I didn't have to eat the cost of a transmission, which was a huge load off my mind because I'm a senior citizen on a very limited retirement income. I'm still sticking with Car Shield, but I just hope that in the future, I don't fall victim again to the same delayed response times.

Problem drove around plenty of places to get it fixed but CarShield had bad reputation towards the mechanics. They say they don’t want to pay and have bad service. Second time got them again for my truck transmission went out. They didn’t want to help me with my warranty. They denied it. Now I have to fix it by myself. Got my money back. A little rudeness and disrespect by the secretary on the phone. Never again will I ever get CarShield to warranty my vehicles again. Please do not contact me. Do not mail me any letters. So my issue with CarShield is that, when you call to get a contract and you give them money monthly! They’re extremely polite like a cult and lure you in, but how they treat you when it’s time to fix your vehicle is horrible. They need all these documents and it doesn’t add up to what the contract states and what was initially said when you are giving them information at first! They will try everything in their power to deny your claim. You are a company to provide care, maintenance and coverage to fix vehicles so do it! Especially when you’re getting paid on time. Another huge annoyance is that they request you to give them 12 months of maintenance receipts, like who keeps that. They will not get another dime out of me unless it’s a ghost giving it to them! I’m not going back and forth with them any longer. I have consulted with a law firm and will contact FOX 5 for exposure!! Period!!

Purchasing Warranty was easily made through Sales Team and their Department gave General Information in basics coverage and they’re able to address payment system from your Banking institution or Credit Card. They’re cordial and wouldn’t call them professional as they “relay unsatisfactory remarks” about other competitive companies that offer Vehicle Warranties.

The Warranty Department is by far the worst Customer Service and always attempting to DENY CLAIMS because whatever so called “By Laws” in the Exclusions Clauses they have in other words “unsubstantiated” reasons, for instance “Carbon Build of engine” that caused ABC, and replied what is the Negative Effects of “Direct Injected” Type engines in modern engineering. Also, there’s no Mandatory Service for “Carbon Build-Up” from the Manufacturer either. Customer Service is unprofessional and they’ll utilize every attempt to DENY every Claim. Now I need a new air compressor, and my dealer won't take CarShield anymore because CarShield insists on shipping in outside parts, which they cannot use, so I called CarShield on Thursday to find out who takes them in Memphis. CarShield recommended the shop where I took my car Thursday evening, and now CarShield only wants to pay $671 of a $1700 covered claim! CarShield says they won't pay more than this because the shop doesn't take outside parts. CarShield absolutely KNEW THIS before they recommended the shop because this shop does regular business with them. They should NOT have recommended this shop to me since they know they don't take outside parts!

If I now take my car somewhere else, then I will have to pay the labor costs for the diagnosis work at the shop where my car is now. This is a deceptive business practice and it is infuriating to have paid this much money and not be covered as promised. I will be leaving multiple bad reviews everywhere possible. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!! Also, when I got a representative on the phone, I was cut off and had to start all over again with waiting to get through. They should have called me right back. You either are a warranty company that will cover you when you have a breakdown, or you don't. It should not be contingent on an approval first basis. If the part is covered then they should honor your coverage. You've been paying them and now they leave you still holding the bill. That is a rip-off. You can judge for yourself but if I would have seen a post such as this, I would have stayed clear of them. If I could rate them with 0 stars, I would have. I purchased a policy for my vehicle at $115 a month. Recently my car had to be towed due to an AC compressor failure. We did everything right. Called roadside assistance and had car towed to CS recommended approved shop. Don’t believe that these mechanics and CS have a real relationship. They don’t and there’s no negotiation between them. When I bought the policy I was told I would have to pay $200 deductible plus tax. I this case that would have been $360. But it didn’t go that way. The shop manager submitted the estimate. CS said the job should take half the time. They also paid less on the part because the shop manager wouldn’t accept an after market part from CS.

Short story is that CS did everything possible to pay as little as possible leaving me to pay over $1300 on a $2100 and they only paid $822 on approved work. If you call to question they will pull the “let me explain the contract” and in it will say they pay by the National Average, meaning if you live somewhere like NYS, you will fall very short from the National Average but might make out in rural OK. So they cover themselves to pay less on everything if anything at all. I spoke to one of their own adjusters who agreed the job took more hours than what CS would authorize. They wouldn’t budge a dime. They only pay for the specified work. If other things have to be disconnected, removed etc, they don’t pay it. Only for the part that malfunctions and the rest is on you.

My car was held a week into everyone got in the same page. Car Shield will respond to some negative reviews basically saying they “Gee we’re sorry. Please feel free to contact us so we can help you understand your contract”. I’ve heard this 30 times plus the contract spiel just as many times. Don’t need to hear it again or any false empathy. They use unethical sales practices to get you covered but then use the small print to screw you. I’m sure it’s borderline legal but highly unethical. They should be either shut down or a class action should be formed against them.

The auto shop that I brought it to said it was more of carbon buildup than sludge. So now that my truck is torn apart, I now are responsible to pay the bill to put it back together again after car shield denied me. Granted my vehicle is 20 years old and what engine doesn’t have a little carbon buildup and possibly a little sludge. This is just Their excuse to deny a claim and not pay for it and leave you with the bill.

Please be aware that if you have an older vehicle or a vehicle that possibly might have a little sludge in it, do not get the warranty. You’re just giving your money away to them because they will deny you. It is very unfair but somehow they get away with it, go to another warranty company and stay away from car shield. Everything sounds good except when you have to have your motor transmission looked at then they will find an excuse to not pay. I am very disappointed and upset with car shield. Please don’t make the same mistake I made, stay away from them unless you just like giving money away and getting nothing for it. The pictures below the first two pictures with all the sludge is a motor that shows sludge. The next three pictures are my 2004 Dodge ram pictures that show more of carbon than anything. Now remind you this is a 20 year old vehicle with 172,000 approximate miles, so there is going to be a little carbon and stuff.

    Original Review: April 4, 2024

CarShield is a big scam, so buyers beware! I have been a gold member for four years and, for the four years, believe me or not, I have paid $6, 658.98. When, however, my car finally broke down, I was told that was not covered under the warranty. To make a long story short, I was driving to work when the serpentine belt in my 2011 ML 350 broke, leaving me stranded on the road. That same day, I had the car towed to a nearby facility. I reviewed my contract with Car Shield right away, and I found out that Engine and all its parts were covered under my warranty. Indeed, my mechanic submitted the claim on my behalf.

Sadly, a few minutes later, the mechanic informed me that the claim was denied by Car Shield, for in its opinion, the belt broke as a result of poor maintenance. The mechanic and myself could not believe it. The car was well maintained, and the belt broke as a result of two pulleys that separated from the engine. So, I am advising you to beware of Car Shield. I canceled my membership that very same day. Please save your money instead.

Find another company. This one is a serious bait & switch scam. The convo was going well in the beginning on a recorded line. I specifically asked about the waiting period. The sales rep said it was 25 days. Didn't mention the real terms until AFTER my credit card info was collected. I'm uncomfortable giving my card info to some faceless person over the phone anyway, she just added to that fear. When she was reiterating the terms on that same recorded line, she snuck in the 250-500 mile requirement she purposely avoided when I asked. Why? Because she knew she would lose a sale & she did for lying. I've not heard anything good about any of these warranty companies period.

This made me far less trusting even with Consumer Affairs recommendations. This is a risky expensive decision. I suggest not making any commitments until you truly find out what they will do. That requires intense questions. The rep got so mad for me getting mad at her for lying, that she accused me of attempting to commit insurance fraud. All because I called her out on lying & attempting to purposely cheat me for her own financial benefits. I don't like liars. I ended up hanging up on her & daring her to ever charge my card. If they do I will without hesitation sue them.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, did a review on Google & will file a complaint this weekend with my state's Insurance Commissioner, since she attempted to intentionally defraud me out of money. She's not the only one who knows the law & how to use it. No one gets to do that to me without my fighting back. When it comes to my hard-earned money in a very bad economy, you will not win with me over $$. I'm not the average consumer. Find something else that may work better. Be very, very wary of all of them. I'm going to risk it with another company I found on Consumer Affairs. After the cooling off period, they will get 2 chances to pay any claims filed. If they do not I will cancel.

I refuse to give away free $$ on these expensive plans, or to be told "no" when I paid for something they agreed to in a contract. Just be very, very careful. No warranty covers everything. Read the fine print. If you don't they can & will use that against you when they deny a claim. Be careful folks, there are a lot of greedy crooks out there, trying to suck the life out of anyone they can for the sake of profits. Don't let them do it to you. I'm really glad I didn't sign up with this horrible company. Come 4/15 if I see my card charged it will be on like popcorn! Maybe they should spend less $$ on never-ending expensive celebrity-infested TV, radio & internet ads, & focus more on providing better, more transparent customer service & sales.

Opinion: In most cases having a policy with CarShield would be throwing money away, and it would be difficult for me to be more disappointed with them.

Experience: When I signed up for the policy, I was told that it could be used at any dealership, however after taking my car into a dealership for repairs the dealer said they didn't work with CarShield. After speaking with two people at CarShield to see what dealerships are in the area, there were a very small number - and none for my car's brand. They worked with about 3 or 4 dealerships in the area in total compared to the area having dozens! It would not make sense to pay dealer repair rates at another brand’s dealership to have someone work on the car who isn't trained on it and isn't using factory parts, to which they agreed. I had been paying for the plan for over 2 years before looking to make a claim and the customer service supervisor at CarShield refused to refund me anything because my plan was month to month instead of their term length contract.

Lesson: Find a mechanic you like and ask if they have any warranty providers that they work with. Don't do it the other way around as it is much harder to find a trusted mechanic than a warranty provider.

Do not sign up with CarShield! CarShield is just a front for American Auto Shield. AAS and CarShield is a fraud. They should be made to tell people on the commercials and all advertisements that American Auto Shield is who you have to deal with to have your car fixed and it's not guaranteed that what is covered on your policy will be honored. AAS and CarShield have the money to pay Vivica Fox, Ice T and other celebrities to get our business but they do not want to pay for covered repairs.

When you call for a quote they are very eager to keep you on the line to do all they can to get your business, post dated payments, call backs, very aggressive. When your payment doesn't clear your account, they call you the same day. They don't tell you when you sign up that this is not a guarantee that your car will be repaired even if it's covered under the policy you purchased. That's not fair. It's dishonesty. I have been a customer with them for 5 years with 2 different vehicles and have had several major repairs covered and I did I have to file a BBB complaint against them once before. After that I stayed with them and remained confident without my husband's approval. I finally talked my husband into getting coverage for his mint condition 2002 Mercedes CLK320 instead of paying out of pocket for expensive, unexpected repairs if something happens.

The car has been very well upkept and after a few months the car's transmission needed repairs that's covered under the policy. Now the car is at the dealership needing a $9000 transmission repair. We sent in additional information they requested. Now they have denied the claim and said the policy should have never been written in the first place. They didn't act like that when they were trying to get our money. Now they have told the dealership they are refusing our claim. When we called to discuss it with them, the claims lady was very rude and condescending and said they were closing the policy immediately and it was our problem to deal with, not theirs. Then she said, they were issuing a refund for all payments whether we liked it or not. Had I known this, we could have kept our car in the garage until we could have afforded to fix it. Due to the false advertisement our car now is stuck at the dealership needing a transmission.

I had a warranty with CarShield back in 2021. When a problem happened with my car the warranty department would not honor the warranty. They told me that they needed the service record on the vehicle to determine if the vehicle had already been serviced for that issue. I was never told that I would undergo this kind of scrutiny prior to establishing the account with Car Shield. The moral to the story is they did not warrant the warranty. To anyone that decides to get and extended warranty with Car Shield I advised to make sure they give you a full disclosure on what they are willing to honor the warranty on. what they did to me was crazy. Instead of honoring the warranty and fixing my car, they gave me the money back that I paid them for four months. Oh, the reality was that my car needed a repair that far exceeded the cost that I paid into the warranty.. Shame on you Car Shield...

Avoid using CarShield at all costs. I entrusted my daughter's car to them on November 28th, 2023, and as of today, December 26th, 2023, it remains at the repair shop due to CarShield's negligence and subpar service. The initial diagnosis on November 26th revealed a faulty transmission, prompting us to wait a week for CarShield's response. Unfortunately, their communication was disrespectful, and they demanded additional, unnecessary information about the car.

Fortunately, I had diligently saved all relevant documents since the car's purchase, and after submitting them to CarShield, it took two days for approval. Subsequently, a used transmission was ordered and delivered to the shop. However, upon installation, a component of the used transmission proved faulty, rendering it inoperative. Despite the repair shop contacting CarShield, they are now refusing to cover the costs of replacing and programming the defective part they supplied.

I find myself having to bear the financial burden out of pocket to rectify the issues with the transmission so that my daughter can finally reclaim her car. CarShield's actions suggest fraudulent practices and make it evident that they are a major scam. Buyer beware! I intend to update this review with the final details once my daughter's car is eventually returned.

I would like to warn potential customers that Car Shield does not honor their policy when it comes to issues that are related to normal wear and tear of the vehicle components that are mentioned in a Manufacturer Technical Service Bulletin or "TSB". This means that most of the parts of your vehicle, such as the engine, transmission, brakes, steering and so on, are not covered by Car Shield. Car Shield should follow the legal definition that states "Unlike recalls, manufacturers never cover TSB-related problems out of pocket unless there is a warranty. When it expires, this burden lies solely on the owner" and provide coverage for your vehicle. However, they use a loophole in paragraph 25 of their contract to deny any claim that involves a technical bulletin.

My Ford F150 has over a hundred technical bulletins for various parts, so basically nothing is covered by Car Shield. This makes Car Shield a fraudulent company in my opinion. Please read paragraph 25 carefully and understand that when they say they don't cover parts that the manufacturer accepts responsibility for, they actually mean anything that has a technical bulletin.

"25. Manufacturer responsibility: BREAKDOWNS as a result of a defect, product improvement or change that the VEHICLE manufacturer has announced as its responsibility by a public recall, technical service bulletin and/or special policy for the purpose of correcting such defect or product shortcoming."

I bought a policy that I thought was through Car Shield but they flipped it to Auto Shield a subsidiary company of theirs. The rear diff went out on my truck. They sent out an adjuster who claimed the damage was from a collision. The repair shop said there was no sign of collision. I bought the truck new and it had never been in any type of an accident. I canceled an auto warranty, yet kept receiving bills in the mail contending that a payment was past due. I had auto payment set up, which ceased after I canceled. Then a month and a half later, my checking account suddenly had 2 monthly payments deducted within 3 days of each other. It was like they decided to catch me up from the previous month and the current month on their own volition. Never mind that my account had been canceled and was confirmed canceled when I called several weeks later complaining about the bills in the mail that I kept receiving. They told me that my account was indeed canceled and to just ignore the mailed bills. So after I notice the money had been deducted from my account, 100% unauthorized, which to me is theft, I called to complain about that. I was told that I would receive a refund within 10 business days. What the heck? It didn't take that long for them to steal it from my account.

I canceled my two policies. I would never recommend Carshield and their TV advertisements are an absolute abuse of customer relations.

When we first submitted the claim it took 10 days of back-and-forth before we could open up a claim. They wouldn’t submit the parts list from me the customer. They had to speak with the dealership and the Subaru dealership in Tucson Arizona. Service department were very laid-back and lazy and did nothing in an attempt to get the job Which would have netted them an $8000 service you think they would’ve worked the little harder. The service manager was less responsive than the front desk people. I would never recommend service at Tucson Subaru either.
