Upon receiving a diagnosis of what needed repair it took several days before the repairs were authorized, then several days for the parts to be delivered and the car to be repaired. Fortunately CarShield authorized a rental car allowance which I only used for a couple of days. I suspect my experience is typical so it would have been helpful for the customer service reps to have alerted me to the time needed to process a claim with advisement re car rental benefits to cover the time needed.

Front left and right wheel bearing. They decided not to cover all of the fix when requested by the mechanic. This was not added on the the fix until after since it was missed on the initial check. Did not want to help on fix saying it. Not part of claim and not covered.

Had no problems with having the air conditioner replaced, works great and no problems. It was on my 2002 ford f150. Only paid my deductible of $250 at that time. Just found out it's now $100. Used my service people and they made the contact with CarShield. All I had to do was take the truck in to get it fixed. Not bad for only paying $60 a month for the warranty from CarShield.

I am a new customer to CarShield just joining after the holidays. My experience is CarShield and American Auto Shield was Godsend. Nick was very courteous with me first calling earlier in the morning and realizing the time, called me back later at nine thirty or thereabouts. He explained everything and the process to my satisfaction and understanding. After that Ryan call back on the same claim and was told that I had already received the call from Nick and she proceeded to confirm the things Nick had said to me earlier. O haven't received any information, no instructions on how or where I can use the service. No member # nothing. I've tried to cancel twice and basically they refused to let me cancel. I want to cancel. I want my money back and be done.
Had no problem with CarShield and they replaced my transmission completely. No questions asked in my old Jeep Grand Cherokee. Thanks CarShield. Didn't have to pay a dime. I have my 2015 Mercedes-Benz covered by CarShield. I feel so comfortable with this coverage. I'm on the diamond policy and I appreciate it. Everyone should have a policy like this.
Very disappointed with services over the past serval weeks with my car repairs from the American Auto; Very Rude service. They denied claims; refused to pay for services at different shops. I was told from several shops that they are having lots of problems with the Carshield/ American Auto Shield. Been with CarShield for years never had this issue before until now.
Had to change banks, they called to say that the payment was declined. We went over the information change what needed to be changed. I know if I need my car repaired I feel there will not be a problem. The representatives are all ways so helpful.
Make sure you have coverage on parts you want covered. It was left out all the parts that were not covered. Also read the fine print on what is needed to get repairs done. And the process for roadside assistance.

Car was at Dealership with major repairs $1,500.00..No rental was available, work nights as home health aide, family provided me transport to & from work, was without vehicle for 10 days, signed up for CS asap. The Audio System Screen was flashing and making random selections.The radio stations would jump back and forth. Then it would freeze up and you could not use any function on the screen. Auto Nation Chevrolet replace the Auto System with a factory part.

Leak driveshaft seals. The repair was COVERED under the policy and paid over half of the entire bill!! Shop dealt direct with Carshield to get approval then did the work. I was impressed with all aspects of the process. This policy is drive train only, so we are strongly considering getting the full coverage policy on our other vehicle with lower miles.

I was sold on the policy that if something was wrong with my engine you would cover cover it 100%, however I should have read the contract because even though you said that the contract States otherwise it's very misleading when you tell the customer you cover the engine no matter what and then turn around and then contract put that you only cover about half the parts and then you tell the customer they have to pay for the teardown work to the vehicle so that you can cover one part. That is not the way it should be. I will never recommend you to anybody else and I will never ever be a customer again.

Received a letter about a $69.00 plan, which was not for people who already had a plan, I already have a plan now. There is nothing else for me to say, she said this didn't apply to me. So I said thank you and hung up the phone.

Driver and Passenger door lock actuators were not working, took the vehicle to the dealership. The dealership evaluated and determined the door lock actuators were both bad, so a claim was presented to CarShield and the parts were ordered and agreed to be paid for by CarShield. The dealer repaired and all is in working order and dealership has been paid. A very good experience for all!!!

My transmission went out on my 2018 Ford F-150. I took it to one of your authorized repair shops. On Tuesday I agree on an amount to get the transmission fixed but the work did not start. Later that day the amount changed. I called and agreed to pay another amount only to get to the end of the next day and find out that the amount had changed again. Each time the amount I had to pay out of pocket went up. Now I am on the second week without my truck. This is unacceptable.

Replacement of front windshield. Technician was on time and he did an excellent installation! He also answered all questions. The next day technician texted me to remind not to go to a high pressured Car Wash for the next 24 hours. Also any tape left on vehicle may be removed.

My service representative at my dealership had cleared work to be done on my 2013 Camry. He had called into CarShield twice to make sure the cost of the work would be covered. He was told to set the date for the repair, on that date he was to call in with the mileage and the date. When he called to give that data, he was informed that the parts and repairs on my vehicle would not be covered due to the fact that the parts had not 'failed'. Car Shields' definition of part failure was NOT defined in the contract we had been paying on for 3 years.
Failure, according to CarShield, for this part, is defined as the deterioration of the bushing at the linkage connection at the end of the part. This bushing has absolutely no function aside from providing a cushion preventing the connecting parts from impacting each other during normal operations. The part in question was no longer able to perform its primary function due to age and use (which is what we purchase Car Shield for in the first place). So 'failure' as defined by pretty much the entire mechanical community - defined as the inability to perform a primary function - is not how Car Shield CHOOSES to define failure.
I escalated from the customer service representative to a supervisor who proceeded to insult my intelligence, by asking if I had read my contract agreement, even going so far as to tell me where to find the specific exclusions to repair coverage for the part in question. I responded by asking him if the part was non-functional, how could that not constitute operational failure. He had no answer. I told him that we would be cancelling our coverage immediately. A non-operational part is a failed part. Do not insult your customers and expect to retain them. DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE. Even my service guy dislikes this company.

I was traveling out of town 4 hours from my home at the time, I had serious problems with my truck and I stopped and called Car Shield. They got a tow truck out to me, took it to a local mechanic and I got my truck back and repaired in 2 days. My pay point was so low I was extremely Grateful!
The Check Engine Light appeared on my ML350 Mercedes Benz vehicle screen. A Transmission notice also appeared on the screen, indicating that the car could not be placed in gear and that it was in danger of rolling away, even though I had it in park. It took several attempts before it would start. I called CarShield to verify if my Mercedes Benz of White Plains dealer had contacted them, because I had brought the vehicle in to the dealer for service and they had indicated that they would contact CarShield. The CarShield customer service representatives were very polite, cordial, professional, and informative, when asked if these problems were covered by my Diamond contract. They confirmed that the services were covered.
Made an accidental overpay and they were very professional and prompt with restoring my overpay back to debit card.... It was quick and prompt. They had told me to give the refund a few business days and it was quickly back in less time than that. Thank You Carshield indeed

Just know when car is getting repaired in order to receive a rental. The repair time it takes to fix, would need to be over 4 hours. If the repair is less than that they won't help with a rental. My car is getting repaired in full which is amazing but the part will take a week to ship to dealership and then they will be able to repair it. Definitely will account this in the future of how I will need to find a ride or another way of transportation during this time for week, school and shopping for food.
I do not know as yet how good my claim will be but when I had a question about my coverage because I was scammed by a company saying they were taking your calls, the young lady with whom I spoke put my mind at ease and helped me know what steps to take. She was wonderful.

Car Shield is saying that my problem was preexisting. How can it be pre existence when it wasn't diagnosed with a problem. I am not a mechanic to diagnose anything. Just because it was driving slow in January doesn't mean it is transmission. I was going by what my fiancé said. Next time I won't say a word. They are not keeping their word.

Call to cancel my policy due to getting too expensive in this high inflation. And other pastor bills, we made the decision to cancel however when I called and spoke with Lisa, she offered me a lower price on my policy and made it more reasonable to purchase and keep my policy by reducing my policy of $20. Is another penny saved towards our other outgoing bills?
An easy experience putting in a claim and getting a good explanation of what is taking place. The parts to my Lexus Air conditioner are being shipped to Charleston to Fred Anderson Toyota for replacement. They have worked with through the entire project.

It's been a while since I made that claim so I do not remember many of the specifics, but I recall that when I needed the car to be serviced, the claim process was relatively difficult, and the same was reported to me by the service center at Pinebelt Chevy.

The agent was very helpful! She helped me cancel my policy for my previous vehicles and add service to my new vehicle, I got the diamond package, because I am a previous customer, she also helped me change the phone number that they have on file, so all in all she was very helpful!

Do give this company your money. Customer service is horrible, their service is horrible. I paid 133.00 for two years then 94.99 for 2 years for absolutely nothing. My car broke down. Was in shop for over 7 months. They did everything. They could not even pay the diagnostics when had the car towed. I still had to pay 100.09 just even pick up my car. Do not trust this company. It’s a scam completely.

I had questioned a charge to my account by another merchant. Part of resolving the issue was to issue me a new card and account number. When your company, as authorized by me, tried to sweep the payment amount my bank declined.... As soon as I was notified I made good on the payment.

Updated on 03/20/2023: Carshield requires you to leave your car at repair facility once the engine light comes on. It took 12 days for them to authorize and another 12 days for my car to be repaired. Being that I can't remove my operating car or my claim would be denied, I had to leave it there. I have the highest coverage, GOLD. Carshield pays for the rental in arrears. I now know why they do this! So I was out of pocket. They only paid for 7 days even though it took more than that for them to even authorize repairs. How was I supposed to get to work? I requested 786 as I only rented a car Tues thru Thurs when I had to be in the office. Thank goodness I did that as they only sent me a check for 311. This is an unfair practice as I had to leave my CAR at the repair shop per carshield's policy. Just FYI.
Original Review: I had an excellent experience with Carshield. They paid my claim in less than 2 weeks and also reimbursed me for the rental car. I have a BMW so the parts and labor were not cheap. Carshield was always very quick to reply to my questions and got everything done in record time. I highly recommend Carshield! I'm a customer for LIFE!
The girl I talked to was helpful. When I asked for the booklet containing policy #, phone number of claims, what they cover, what they don't cover, who I need to talk to etc. she said she would send the booklet to me.
I am completing survey. I am pleased with the customer service and I have definitely referred friends to CarShield. The representative was courteous and was very helpful. I felt that my problem was resolved without judgment. I plan to keep my plan with Car Shield. I have not had to use the plan for my car as of this date but I feel sure that I will be taken care of promptly.
The agent was able to add a new credit card to my account and process the monthly payments for my two vehicles. During my time on the phone with your agent she was very pleasant and was able to help with my issue without any problems.
I’m just gonna drop Car Shield. They lied about what they will do and misled me, so I’m just going to withdraw from their contract. I’ve been going thru to to much and haven’t even been with them for a fully 3 to 4 months. I’m done.
I've had excellent service from CarShield. I was skeptical of aftermarket protection plans, but CarShield lives up to its promise to provide peace of mind, complete coverage and a price that is affordable. Claims are handled quickly and they follow up to make sure you are satisfied. If you have a car that doesn't have a factory warranty get CarShield. It's the real deal.

I recently purchased the CarShield Diamond w/ Elite Plan. Although my Sales Rep was very thorough and professional, and explained everything to me, when I received my Paperwork Package, I saw some parameters that confused me (my fault for doing that with a young child running all over the place). I called Customer Service just to get some clarification and the Rep was super nice, very professional, and extremely well versed. In just a few quick minutes, he made everything crystal clear, and I found it to be very comforting knowing that, in the event of needing the Service, I'd be dealing with competent professionals. I haven't even needed the Service yet, and I'm already impressed with the courtesy and professionalism.

Since my 2017 Silverado is nearing 100,000 miles, I thought it wise to sign up for Carshield. Being retired with a modest fixed income, a major repair of my truck would put me in a real financial bind. I spoke with John and he was most helpful and treated me with courtesy and respect. Of course, the premiums will require me to tighten my budget quite a bit, but I now have peace of mind knowing that I've got coverage if anything breaks down.

Didn't know my account was on autopay so I ended up paying it twice and will be refunded the 2nd payment which I hate in 3 to 5 business days. My only issue is don't take no time to take the money out your account but takes 3 to 5 days to return the funds.

The gentleman I spoke with me on the phone said I would not be getting my money back and to call the complaint department, the number he gave me was for the Better Business Bureau. He stated that there was no one higher than him to make decisions. Very poor customer service.

Car broke down on me. My check engine light came on. Turned out it was my motor that need repair. They pay most of the bill for the repairs. Now I just have to see about getting a rental car to get around until my car is finished.

Recently, my car needed brake repairs, CarShield saved me hundreds of dollars on the repair bill. My valve cover gaskets were leaking and CarShield saved me over $400 in repair costs. I highly recommend it. This service is a great asset to have and I highly recommend it. The timeliness was great, they authorized my claim and it was immediately covered by them. They did a follow-up call as soon as they authorized the claim to make sure everything was good and to tell me that the claim was covered.

I had to file a claim when a condition was discovered during my vehicle's regularly scheduled maintenance and two conditions were discovered. One was covered by my warranty and the other was not. But the covered repairs were the most expensive. The process was very easy and I experienced good customer service. Thank you, CarShield!

We had a windshield replaced in my daughter's car. The car was left in her driveway with ample room for the work to be done. When she returned home after she got off work, her car was left at the end of her driveway with her car keys left on her hood. She went to crank up the car so she could pick up her 2 children, the car wouldn’t crank. She had to get a neighbor to jump the car off. Luckily the car wasn’t stolen, with the amount of children and adults that normally are walking in the neighborhood.

We show that a tow was dispatched to assist with getting the vehicle to Walmart for a flat tire issue which is not eligible for coverage under the contract, and windshields are cosmetic and not eligible for coverage either. We are not sure what else went on here, but it was not our doing, as we would not have been the ones performing those repairs. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call.
My vehicle needed motor mounts and Car Shield was prompted about getting my issue resolved. I also had a problem starting my vehicle and was in need of a tow truck to have the vehicle towed from one location to another and Car Shield made it possible/happen within minutes which takes the edge plus pressure off.
