    I wish I had a little bit more of a discount on the price. I had CarShield seven years ago and the pricing was a little less than what I'm paying now. Back then, the contracts were just one price. You paid everything upfront. Now, it's monthly. You can quit anytime, but it's usually a three-year term. It's more expensive that way. Other than that, filing a claim with CarShield has been easy. The shop that did the repair contacted CarShield and got the authorization. Then I paid my deductible and that was it. I had a positive experience.

    I talked to two different people at CarShield. There was a manager and a regular representative. They wanted my business, so they gave me a better deal. It was a higher price to start with on the quote, but they dropped the price down to what it is now. It was agreeable to me at that point, so I accepted and started the policy. I felt a little bit pressured, but that's sales.

    CarShield's coverage was more thorough for my vehicle than what Endurance was offering. The parts that wear out on my vehicle are parts that are covered by CarShield. Also, the mileage is not limited. As long as I keep on paying the payment, the coverage is still there. With Endurance, it was limited. I couldn't go over 140,000 miles, and that's about when everything wears out. CarShield also has roadside assistance and rental car benefits. I like that because I can't go without a vehicle. I don't have the means to have a second vehicle.

    I'm worried about the auto warranty being a waste of my money, but I feel better with it on there. I just paid the third payment and once this month is over and the deductible drops down to a reasonable price, if anything major happens to my vehicle, I'm within my means to be able to pay for it right away. I have also received the handbook and it's got everything written in there. It's pretty detailed. It's Platinum coverage, and if anything major breaks, it'll get repaired. There's nothing pre-existing, so I don't have to worry too much. The major components that I was worried about are covered as well.

    I had heard some bad things about CarShield, that they don't pay their bills. But I also heard a few good things about them and thought of giving them a try. The rep who signed me up was very knowledgeable. I've been hearing that my truck may have transmission problems later on. The other company said I won't have a problem with that truck, but she confirmed what I've been hearing. That made me go ahead and invest in an auto warranty. I gave her the mileage on my truck and she told me I didn't have enough mileage. She told me I needed to put some more miles on it before CarShield was gonna cover it so I started driving the truck more often. But she was very sweet and came across real well. She represented CarShield in a good way.

    I used to have Endurance but CarShield came out cheaper. I signed up with CarShield and they were able to answer my questions and show me the benefits of being covered with them. I would recommend them. I've also asked a friend if they wanted to get it too. The only thing is I didn't understand if they cover time belt changing with my coverage.

    I've had pleasant experiences with CarShield. I had good experiences with the salespeople as well. I've had several incidents which I've called in and made sure where I could take my car to have service. CarShield sent someone out to come and look at it, then they approved it and made payments. They take the monthly $130 payment out automatically. I paid for it for over a year and never used it. But as the car started to get older, things started happening back to back. The first time I used it, it paid for everything that I had put in. The first several times, CarShield reimbursed me for my car rental. But this last time, it was or one day, and I didn't get reimbursed. Other than that, I've been very satisfied.

    I recommend CarShield a lot. I've had them for a few years now. I don't mind paying whatever I pay every month. It's not a lot. But it protects everything in my vehicle. Everything goes up as the years go by. Having CarShield is very little to pay for if something happens. It's gonna happen sooner or later. Every car is gonna have problems.

    I take my car to my mechanic if something happens. I have him look at it. I usually call and he tells me what's wrong. I call CarShield to see if it's covered. I tell my mechanic, “Yes.” He knows what to do next. He calls CarShield, tells them what is wrong with the car, and he tells me when I need to bring my car in and how long it will take. That would be it. Everybody is taken care of fast. They're very good. CarShield is the best thing I've done, because my truck had a lot of miles. I recently switched it over to my new truck, because I had an accident that they totaled it out. CarShield took care of that too, in no time.

    Easy to use, was easy to get a hold of and worked with place of business of choice with no issues. After choice of business did inspection sent estimate, CarShield to make sure I am being represented sent a rep to verify the repairs, offer options to parts needed that may be cheaper. I felt comfortable with Car Shield having my back! Cost me more with my choice but that was my choice to stay with OEM. But knowing the company sent a rep to verify I wasn't getting scammed is nice in today's world where everyone is trying to scam people.

    I thought this was a good company. I purchased a warranty through them approx. 6 or 7 months ago. My transmission went bad in my suv and they denied the claim. They are using the excuse they needed my oil change records. Nothing to do with the transmission. I explained that I do them myself. They said they needed my receipts with mileage on them then. I don't keep receipts. They explained they tell you that you need to keep them. However, it was never explained to me. I asked for a refund of my money as they didn't keep their end up and they refused any refund and tried to take another payment.

    They've covered an ignition part for replacement and 2 years now I've got a sensors readings problem to get diagnosed and repaired or replaced next week and expect good coverage. They've been straight up with coverage and will continue to keep and pay for their long-term Insurance coverage, will also continue to follow factory/manual suggestions on my 2012 3.0 Escape and plan for 300k or more life

    I’m NOT a customer of Carshield and will NEVER be. Please before you throw away your money on this on this, PLEASE talk to your (reputable) mechanic, and ask them if they will honor any warranty. They will tell you (mine did), that they will bill you, and YOU TRY to collect (the full amount) from the warranty company. Most shops don’t want anything to do with this warranty because you might get your car fixed, BUT not at the amount that the mechanic is charging you. If you need a transmission, carshield will pay for one from a junkyard, not for the shop to rebuild yours OR a new one. PLEASE, PLEASE look before you leap, WAY TOO MANY HIDDEN COSTS AND UNCOVERED ITEMS

    Was happy with the customer service when signing up & getting a policy. On 01/01/2026, I called to cancel. The agent became rude when I asked to cancel. I was informed that I needed a reason for canceling. I said I didn't want the policy anymore and was told he could not accept that reason. I said I didn't want to pay for the coverage anymore and he said he also could not accept that as a reason. I insisted on canceling my policy. He then said that my brand of car was known for the engines blowing once they hit 100,000 miles. Again, I asked to cancel.

    Several times, he told me that I'd best think about this some more. Again, I asked to cancel. He asked me if I'd checked on coverage with other companies. When I told him "yes" he said "of course you have" in a very sarcastic tone. He then insisted I tell him how I would pay for an expensive engine replacement. At this point, I got irritated and told him that I'd buy a horse & buggy. He again insisted I explain to him how I would pay for an expensive engine if I needed one. After more going back & forth, he finally & reluctantly canceled my policy. I will not recommend CarShield after this experience with a rude customer service agent.

    CarShield is one of the best warranty companies out there. My personal experience includes a transmission replacement at about 125,000 miles on my vehicle. They paid thousands of dollars in costs while I paid only a fraction. I would also like to include a positive review in regards to their customer service. They are always understanding. They listen and they genuinely care about getting you back on the road when your vehicle fails. I highly recommend CarShield for anyone who owns a vehicle new or old!

    Like everyone else who watches tv with actor ice t who promotes their business. I elected to buy the plan that they advertised with the towing option if I break down. That didn't work out, my son and I were shopping in a mall in Southwest Philadelphia area and broke down on 476 highway in Philadelphia region. I called Car Shield. The representative told me they can send a tow truck, but they will only cover 5 miles. And the rest had to come out my pocket. What a lie, that's not what you advertise on tv. They lied to me about their coverage that they show on TV.

    How is 5 miles of towing going to do to help me? And I'm on the expressway, they left my son, and me hanging I had to call My mechanic who I bought the Jeep from to come, tow me to safety. I immediately called my bank and canceled the payment with Car Shield. They are such liars, never again. My other issue is, what did they determine to bring a pre-existing problem before they cover it. That area is not clear. What is the timeline on what they consider Not being a pre-existing problem, so you're covered by their policy? People are being tricked by the thousands to invest in this coverage. Only to find out, it's not what they thought. When My jeep broke down on the highway. They offered no solution and didn't care.

    My GPS has no mechanic shop that can fix it, except the dealer. I canceled my CarShield insurance coverage. When I first had Carshield coverage, my AC leaked on the dashboard. I reported to CarShield the shop that did the repair, and they charged me $500.00 in labor. And Carshield never follows up with the repair shop. Carshield keeps calling me to reinstate my Avalon coverage. I am no longer with the company.

    What a nightmare. I’d had them for 4 yrs and had just 2 claims. For them to pay or get the proper part was a nightmare. And to fix things right. Was just not happy they wanted to use used parts to fix my truck. Which I was like why would I want that, plus know what was been fixed could potentially cause a fire. That was just one of the problems. The second one was a major issue, which was my transmission. It’s a sealed transmission so you cannot check the fluid. They wanted all of my records of maintenance which kind of threw me for a loop. I got all of the records of maintenance for them sent them to them. I jump through all their hoops that they wanted.

    My truck was at a dealership the mechanic that was working on. It explained to the person that came to look at it from CarShield. The mechanic told them you’re gonna have to put a new transmission in it. It is got some issues and he explained to them that it’s not gonna drive right. And the person from Car Shield that was sent there said, "Well we can’t cover roast rusty clamps." OK I get it but we live in Indiana as soon as it hits the ground it oxidizes and starts to rust. I work at I worked at a steel mill. I know for a fact how quickly things start to rust so they threw that at me OK. I’m not under my truck looking at it every day watching to see things rust that clamp had come off and broke. They had to cut the other hose off because it wasn’t coming off so the person that came from Car Shield told them to just fill fluids back up and that is all they’re gonna do which ended up costing me almost $800 to get my truck back.

    The first one was about 700 bucks and they wanted to put used parts on that. My truck was never the same after the transmission issue. The young mechanic told me that he was pretty disgusted with the situation and he would never recommend Car Shield either. Mind you I’m disabled on a limited income and I have to have a vehicle to go to my doctor's appointments.

    CarShield will lie to their customers and tell them whatever to get them to sign up hoping that they will get a few months or payments before they show their color. First time I need this warranty to cover oil pan leaks, they took forever to send an adjuster, the adjuster then gave the select 1.9 Hrs allowance vs the 8 hrs that the dealer said they needed. The customer service person was rude and started yelling at some point. Save your money, if you are worried about vehicle breakdown, just save the payments in a an account and use when needed. Waste of money, please avoid. This is the message I send to them. "You should be upfront with your customers and don’t claim that dealers take your warranty.     CarShield was the cheapest and I believed their commercials, which I found were totally false. They claim that if you go to a dealer that they recommend, you won’t get a bill. They would pay for all the stuff. But I found out they pay for very little. They also charged for the battery and they refused to pay what the authorized dealer had. They recommended a certain part to replace it. They wanted some off-market part that the dealer told them wouldn't work. It was half the price of the other one. And then they would ship it from God knows where. I want a part that works for the vehicle and that's made for the vehicle. CarShield only paid for half of what it was worth. By the time I was done, they paid $174 for an $800 worth of work.

    That's typical CarShield. Most mechanics I talked to hate working with them. CarShield is always trying to get them down. Very few companies like to work with this warranty provider. And when they do, CarShiels delays payment or they bargain with the companies for after-market products that don't work well in the car. It's just not worth the trouble anymore. I'm gonna end up canceling the warranty soon. I'm not getting bang for my buck and I'm paying a lot of money.

    I’ve had the warranty for a little over a year and I had over $3000 worth of other work that they didn’t cover. It just gets ridiculous. They don't cover a lot of things that you presume they would. This may be my fault for not looking a little closer at the contract. But CarShield makes all sorts of claims when you talk to them and then by the time you get to use the service, they are not covering stuff. When my ball joint went out, they didn’t cover that. When I brought in my transmission, they ended up paying 4,000 out of the $7,000 cost. I had to come up with the rest of the money to get my car fixed.

    CarShield covers what it wants to cover. Every time I file a claim, they either don't cover it or when they do, they cover half. And then they claim, “This is what the going rate really is. This is what it should cost. This is what it is.” They also discount the hell out of it so that you still have to pay more than what it's worth. Customer service did the gobbledygook. It's unbelievable. The sales and marketing are all lies. They're twisted. They're able to get away with saying, “Well, you gotta read the contract.” They paid half of what the part was worth and they didn't want to bargain for how much the labor was going to be. It was very disheartening. They got a nice chunk of the deduction but they don't cover what the true bill is.

    I tried to get a quote online for my vehicle's monthly plan cost but you have to call, now I keep getting bothering calls, text and email from them multiple times daily and already, unprofessional and very pushy like a car salesman and this has caused me to decline to do business with them, yes I unsubscribed the emails, replied NO or STOP to text and keep blocking the phone numbers they use but they keep calling from different numbers, it's worse than signing up for free magazines and getting your information sold to every "junk mail" option out there.

    I'm Thankful to have the Platinum Coverage on our 2015 Buick Encore.     This is a VERY BAD company. DO NOT invest your money with this company. If they have a dispute with the repair facility you choose then YOU HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE. This is in their contract. They have a financial incentive to dispute the hours the repair facility says it needs to complete the repair. My $100 deductible became an $1,100 deductible. This would have been $2,100 deductible, but the repair facility split the difference with me. My car was in the shop from Halloween to December 11th - 42 days. They only pay 7 days of rental. Again their advantage. All of the delays were their problem, or they needed a second independent inspector who did not even leave the parking lot of the repair facility as it was obvious what the problem was with my car.

    Unbelievable arguments every time you call them. They say "It's in our contract - YOUR responsible!" This came so easily to their mouth as if they say all the time, every day. Imagine not having your car for 42 days of which only 7 are covered, due to their problems, constantly running into arguments, and then having to pay a $1,000 extra to get your car fixed and back in your garage. Do NOT buy one of their extended warranty contracts. Read the complaints online.

    I was a customer of CarShield and needed to get repairs done to my vehicle. I took my car to three different mechanics and was told by one of them that they don't deal with CarShield because the company always finds a way not to pay for repairs, which leaves it in the hands of the owner to pay. The other two straight out told me that the company was a scam, promising customers business they had no intention of fulfilling. I ended up spending over $500 of my own money and was told I could submit the paperwork to TRY to get it reimbursed.

    Bought a CarShield Policy. They pawned me off somehow onto An American Auto Shield policy. I drove my 2021 Denalli several months as normal. The water pump went out. I paid cash, as it didn't meet the warrenty deductible threshold. I drove the car for 24 hrs and noticed the overflow radiator was boiling water but the vehicle was not overheating. I was nearby my mechanic so I drove the vehicle back. That was 40 days ago. Today they denied my claim stating that I blew my engine/ driver caused like an irresponsible 15 year old. I'm 40 and have owned 20 cars and 15 moving trucks. My interest is not driving an $85,000 vehicle until the engine explodes. These people are crooks.

    Young man named Anthony, who no longer works there, sold me a policy that covered anything and everything. It was like the dream of a lifetime. Being 66 years old honestly I believe the dude. I had just canceled another policy that had a very limited coverage and he swore to me that this was not the same that this was extensive. We had the full conversation. I guess she just wanted the kickback. He sold me a lie.

    I've been paying 130 a month for 10 months. Turns out my car is insured for absolutely nothing but the powertrain in the engine. It is not covered however for something that actually needs to be repaired in order for the engine to work well. The engine light has been on for 6 months and they have been trying to trace it. With me reaching a 10-month goaI figured it was time for me to have it checked out. So I finally put the car in the shop. Only to find they do not cover this. The engine has to blow up for them to cover it.

    Bogus scam people! Do not use CarShield. They do not care about you. They do not care about your car. They do not care about your safety on the road obviously. Excellent mechanic told them yesterday that this was absolutely necessary in order for the engine to maintain it's continued power and working capabilities. He did not expect them to deny this. He is as shock as I am. So I guess they want this to go bad, so the engine blows up on me while I'm in the car. Or perhaps the engine loses power when I'm going up or down hills. Or just doesn't start on a day. I guess they want you to suffer before they can jump in and rescue you with your own money because they deny.

    I don't have roadside. I don't have anything at all that was promised. My problem? I come from a generation where people shook hands, believed each other and they absolutely did what they were supposed to do. They live their word, they walked their walk. CarShield is not one of these places and you need not be a part of this or you may find yourself on the side of the road, without roadside service.

    CarShield Does not honor their claims very well. They only cover about 50% of the repair bill. Most auto shops will not accept Car Shield warranties. The dealership will not accept the claims at all because they never come close to paying full price. Your $100 deductible will always be much more.

    After receiving my paper contract in the mail from CarShield, I fully reviewed all the deductibles, co-pays and coverage exclusions and determined the "as good as new car warranty coverage" as promised on the phone by the CarShield salesperson was a sales pitch deception. The coverage is nowhere near what was verbally promised by the CarShield salesperson. I immediately cancelled my contract as allowed within the 30 grace period. Afterwards, I received an email stating my initial payment would be fully refunded within 72 hours as per their cancellation guarantee. That guaranteed refund has never been issued. The CarShield customer service person told me there is nothing more they can do about it! I had to dispute the CarShield charge on my credit card.

    In 2019 I purchased an extended warranty through Carshield. It was for a 2011 Ford F-350 Crew Cab Dually pickup. At the time of the purchase in 2019 I told the salesperson that I hauled my livestock with my pickup truck. That statement was documented in their records. I did not have any issues with my vehicle and did not use the warranty until 10/2025. Prior to 10/2025, when my initial warranty expired, I was contacted by an agent of Carshield. They told me they had to downgrade my warranty due to the milage of my vehicle, and I would have to pay month to month. I agreed to renew the warranty. No questions were asked by the agent about hauling horses or any other livestock. My status was unchanged regarding what I transport.

    On October 9, 2025 I required a repair to my pickup. I first contacted Carshield to see if a Manifold leak was covered by my policy. I was assured that it was in fact covered. I took my vehicle to Repair company. They submitted the claim to Carshield with the needed repairs including the Manifold. There was a leak in the Manifold on one side but there was also an issue with the opposite Manifold. We were both informed that an inspector would come out in 24-48 hours to do the inspection.

    Once the inspector came out, I was told that it would be 24-48 hours before they decided if they would cover the repairs. I then waited. I received a phone call from a female from Carshield. She was calling to ask me if I hauled horses (agriculture) with my pickup. I told her I hauled a lot of things and went through a short list. She then said, in a very snotty raised voice, just tell me yes or no, do you haul horses. I told her yes. She told me that my pickup was a commercial vehicle. I told her that I do NOT haul commercially or for hire, that I haul my own horses. She then told me that it would be another 24-48 hours before I got a response about the repairs. I told her I wanted to speak to a manager. She said again it would be 24-48 hours before the manager would get back to me.

    THE BLACKMAIL PHONE CALL. I received a phone call from Carshield. I was told that I had not disclosed that I transported horses, (which I had told them in the first policy and was unchanged in the second policy), and that they could legally cancel my policy immediately, but instead they would charge me a “surcharge” for hauling agricultural products. They told me that I had to agree to the surcharge or they would not cover the repairs. By this time, I was furious. I do not like being blackmailed. I again attempted to reach the “higher ups” in the company and was told time and time again that there was no one I could speak with about this. I was told there was no phone number, no address, and no one higher to speak with about my issue. Then as usual they told me that it would be 24-48 hours before anyone would contact me.

    I spoke to another customer service agent, and she did verify that I had in fact told the company I hauled horses when I purchased the initial policy. She said when the second policy was sold to me there should have been a surcharge, but it was not added. No surcharge was required with the initial policy. I told her that I felt I was being punished for the agents mistake. I had paid for this insurance for approximately 6 years, and the first time I go to use it they Blackmail me. I agreed to pay the surcharge so I could go forward with the repairs of my vehicle. I then got a phone call from Carshield stating that they are denying my claim for the repairs to the manifold. (Although they did cover another smaller repair with a $500 deductible). I again got on the phone trying to speak to someone besides customer service, to no avail.

    I was told that my shop would have to show proof that the failure of the manifold was not mechanical. They also denied the opposite manifold. I was told by customer service that the pickup would have to be torn down further to see if the opposite side was having a problem and it was at the discretion of the inspector to have that done. Despite the proof from my shop, Carshield declined to authorize this.

    The owner of my shop called Carshield many times. They called the inspector and disagreed with the inspection. They spoke with the manager of the inspector and sent photos, but were not given the opportunity to provide verbal proof that the repair should be covered. They were in fact told to “butt out” and were told to let the “customer” take care of it. I was told by Carshield to have the shop provide proof that the repairs should be covered, but they were not given the opportunity to provide proof.

    I continued to try to contact anyone above customer service. The repair shop also worked at appealing the finding. The owner of the shop was so frustrated that they threw away all Carshield brochures that had been given to them and will not recommend Carshield to their customers. In the end, I paid for the repairs out of my own pocket, repairs that should have been covered by Carshield. I picked up my pickup from the repair shop on October 30, 2025. I had been fighting with Carshield for 21 days, during which time I did not have the use of my pickup.

    In my frustration I looked up Carshield on Facebook on October 30, 2025 and placed a comment about my horrible treatment by the company and the fact that I had been Blackmailed to pay a surcharge before repairs would be covered, then ultimately the coverage was denied. Carshield messaged me on Facebook and I went back and forth with them at length about the blackmail and their supposed reasons for not covering the claim, and my terrible treatment. I was finally told they would “escalate” the claim.

    On October 31, 2025 I was contacted again on Facebook with the statement that they would in fact cover the manifold repair. They immediately issued a refund for the repairs that I paid for out of pocket (less another $500 deductible). Although they did finally agreed to cover the repairs, I am totally dissatisfied with how Carshield handled my claim. I do NOT recommend anyone use Carshield and I hope my experience will prevent anyone else from being taken advantage of by them.

    The company needs to know how their customers are being treated or maybe they have it set up the way they do because they just don’t care about their customers. It is a shame that I paid faithfully for 6 years only to be Blackmailed and blocked at every turn by the company. I will be cancelling my policy once my shop has been paid for the repairs by Carshield.

    I am no longer with CarShield. I didn't feel like it was trustworthy and it was costing me 100 bucks a month and it felt like a 50/50 chance of whether or not stuff would get covered.     I've been with CarShield for a little while, and I liked what I was doing. However, I was going to let them go because I took my car to a dealership and I know that the issue was covered in the Premium Platinum plan. The mechanic called them and they told him that they didn't know who I was, and that was what he wrote on my ticket. I ended up paying the cost for this issue. It was something that had to do with my seats, and they wouldn't repair it. When I called CarShield back a little later, they didn't give me a reason as to why they told the mechanic that they didn't know me, so I decided not to go with them, but then I changed my mind and I went back with them. Since that time that they've been taking my monthly payments out of my account, I haven't had any cause to even use them, so that's a good thing.

    I've always taken my vehicle to the same place since I've had my vehicle. They're the ones that work on it, and then my warranty ran out. I decided to get CarShield because I did my homework and I thought it will work out good. That was the first time I ever used them. And from my understanding of a warranty, if you take it to the people for them to repair it, they have to be ASC-approved and this is a very highly reputable place that I took it to. It was a Chevy dealership and they're one of the best in the greater Kansas City area. So when the guy came back and said CarShield said they have no record of me, I didn't follow up and called because I feel that if he's calling them and giving them my name, then if they type it in there, information should pop up on the system.

    I'm not happy with CarShield. CarShield advertises, "We make over 500,000 parts. We take care of you. We saved all these people all this kind of money." The advertisements are lies. CarShield didn't save me a penny. I ended up having an engine that went. On top of that, the radiator went. My entire bill was $12,825. CarShield only covered $4,985, which wasn't the engine's full price of $6,900. That doesn't include the labor. And they didn't cover anything for the radiator. CarShield gave me a new dollar amount, which is $25 less than what I was paying. But I'm still not positive I wanna stay with them. I had to borrow money from work and my husband. I had to come up with $8,000 to get my car out of the car shop.

    I put the car in on the 29th at 5 o'clock. The shop didn't have time to look at it. It was either on the 1st or 2nd of October that they contacted CarShield. They took 14 days before I even got a claim number. They had to wait one of their special people to verify what needed to be done on the engine. Also, they only cover 14 days of car rental. They have 14 days before we determine whether they would claim it. Thank God the people that did the work for my car happened to have a loaner for 31 days. I finally got my car back on October 30th. My payment is due Friday, and I'm contemplating about canceling it. Why should I spend $89 to pay for something that I'm not gonna get again? I am not gonna do anything else with CarShield. Stay away from them.

    I have the Diamond package, which is the top of the line. When I first got it, I had 33,000 miles on my 2014 Chrysler 300, which was unheard of, and pretty much garage capped.     I have questions about the shops that I deal with, because I was told I have a $100 deductible. My understanding is once the bill is finalized with the taxes and whatever else, they're just supposed to take $100. However, the shop charges me taxes on the $100 that I have to pay them. I spoke to someone once from CarShield. They pay the shop a certain amount, my deductible is $100. Once they finalize the bill and they have a total amount, they were just supposed to deduct the $100, not tax me on the $100.

    The first shop I went to didn't have that issue. But I had to take the car back a second time to have something redone. I told them, "I'm not paying for it, and you're not gonna put another claim to CarShield, because you were already paid to have this job done the proper way and you didn't do the proper way.” One of the guys tried to talk to me. I said, "First of all, this is not your business. I spoke to the owner of the business. I was told to bring the car back. You're the maintenance manager. You assign someone to fix my car. That's it.”

    I find out what's wrong with my car and I call CarShield to find out if it's covered. Most of the time, I go to the shop and they will tell me it's not covered. Some of the shops told me CarShield doesn't pay them much money. Some of them sometimes don't do warranty work, because they think CarShield will not pay what they will charge to do that job. But CarShield has been good with my claim.

    My experience with CarShield with my transmission was terrible. I didn't know CarShield deals with RocketAuto. They shipped a bad transmission. It wasn't CarShield's fault but I got some wrong information from them. I thought they would pay for the labor. RocketAuto had to pay the facility where I got my car fixed. And they tried to keep my car. I had to show out and tell CarShield, "I ain't got nothing to do with that. That's between you and RocketAuto." CarShield needs to talk to the clients and let them know what's going on upfront. I went back and forth with CarShield. I got some friends that had CarShield, and they had some problems with CarShield, too.

    I discontinued my service with CarShield not through disappointment. They have done their job well. They were very receptive and agreeable during the times that I had them on the phone. I try to call them in advance and advise them that I'm about to submit a claim. Once that is done, I present the documents to the dealer. I'm sure they communicate with CarShield to get a confirmation. The dealerships that I went to for service accepted CarShield, but the dealership didn't make life easy. So, I figured I'd change. I'm now with the GMC program as far as extended warranties.

    This last time, I had a lot of difficulty with the radio in my vehicle. I gave CarShield the deductible, and they said the radio was fixed. The dealer billed CarShield but the radio wasn't fixed. Unknown to me, CarShield was reluctant and rightly so to pay the hours involved in fixing the vehicle. On top of that, CarShield told them what they would pay which was reasonable. However, the dealership wanted another deductible plus an additional $200 for I have no idea. I called CarShield and said, "Forget it. Canceled this claim. I'm not dealing with these people."

    I went to another dealer and asked for diagnostics. I paid for that out of my pocket and said, "Do no work until I consult the technician. At that point, I'll make a decision whether we will continue." I didn't want to bother CarShield again. The dealer told me they could fix it. I paid that out of my pocket but it still wasn't fixed. I was so angry that I went over and bought a new truck. I decided to purchase the dealership's extended warranty because I felt I would get better service if I went through them. CarShield did the best they could with what they had to deal with. The first time I used them, I called them and said, "This dealership is trying to rob you." They put me at ease and said, "We take care of all of that ourselves. So, don't you worry about it." I didn't worry about it anymore.

    We bought another car later, a Mitsubishi, and I originally called CarShield to try to get it on the same package deal as my Cadillac because I liked it so much. They signed me up, and then the dealership said, “Well, you have to buy ours. It goes with the car.” I said, “What?     My car is a '99 and I wanted to get something so that I wouldn't have to worry about it being broken down in the street. I signed up with CarShield and I've had them for 2.5 months when my transmission started leaking. So, I called them. They okayed me to have the work done, but the person that I used for the work tried cheating me. I told the woman at CarShield about what I was going through and she recorded everything. I had to call them for safety and Vehicle Safety went to the person that had done my transmission, then they were able to get my money back.

    But then they spoke to CarShield, and CarShield sent me back $999, all of the months that I paid into the warranty. I had to cancel for them to pay me, but then they told me to have me come back on again, and I did. All in all, I thought I would have issues with them, because I heard stories, but I didn't have any problems. I even told my son that he should get CarShield as well because he has an older car too.

    I have an older vehicle and CarShield is able to cover some of the parts on it. I usually take my vehicle to the car shop and they submit the claim to the car shop. I would also call in to let them know that I am taking the car to the shop and make sure something is covered on it. My most recent claim was for a water pump on my vehicle. The claim process didn't take that long, but getting the vehicle ready took me about two days to get the vehicle. They said that I had to pay out of pocket for a rental vehicle. I didn't see that being feasible. So, I just stayed at home, had to rearrange some appointments to make sure I was able to pick my car up.

Everything was smooth. We went to the Toyota dealership in Grand Island, New York. They took care of the stuff. She said something about they would come and pick her up or drop her off home because she had the best plan.

    I’ve been with CarShield for 5 months with Gold Coverage, and this has been the most frustrating and dishonest experience I’ve ever had with a warranty company. My “Check Engine” light came on, and before going to the dealer I called CarShield. Their rep told me, “Yes, go to the dealer, have them call us, and we will take care of you.” My dealer diagnosed the issue (Fuel Injectors and Fuel Induction), called CarShield, and after an hour on the phone was told these parts were NOT covered.

    I checked my policy and saw no exclusions for those parts, so I called CarShield again. An adjuster named Nick R. told me that the first adjuster was wrong, that I actually WAS covered, and everything was approved. But he refused to call my dealer or give me a claim number. My dealer called them back again, spent another hour on the phone, and was told again that the parts weren’t covered.

    When I called CarShield again, I spoke to a representative named Mondra, who gave me the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. She acted like she didn’t care, kept saying she didn’t understand me, and when I finally finished explaining everything, she told me my claim was denied. When I gave her the name of the adjuster who approved the repair, she said “that name doesn’t exist.”

    At that point I cancelled my policy. My dealer told me most of his customers cancel after their first claim because CarShield constantly misleads people and refuses to pay for what the policy actually covers. CarShield wasted hours of my time, lied multiple times, refused to help, and provided zero accountability. Don’t waste your money.

    Keep in mind this company does not provide correct information, show empathy when the level of service does not align with the standards outlined in the contract. This has not only impacted my ability to manage my daily life and accounts but has also resulted in unnecessary stress, costly transactions and wasted time. Please remember when they promise in writing and verbally they will contact you within 1 business day to complete your claim it’s false information. They’ve place the blame on the repair shop for two week when all required documentation and photo were submitted. They don’t honor their own terms. You are never able to speak with upper management such as a Supervisor. I wish I knew before but happy I know now. This isn’t a company worth investing your money it.

    I bought the Platinum Plan and was told everything was covered with the exception of routine maintenance items, which I expected and was fine with. Then, when I needed them for a repair from something that failed inside my steering column, I was denied because they deemed it a "maintenance" issue! I did nothing to cause whatever broke inside my steering column. I take good care of my truck and was not negligent in any way, yet they would not honor the repair that needed made. I looked and noticed "Steering" and "Transmission" were both listed on the coverage, yet a steering column repair was denied!

    I heard that this company was involved in many lawsuits and was cautioned about them from other competitors, yet I remained loyal to Car Shield, trusted them after discussing the rumors I heard, which they denied were true, and this is what my loyalty got me.... Screwed! CAUTION: Take a warranty out with this rip-off company at your own risk! I made my payments every month and still have to pay for a $1,200 repair bill with no valid reason why. Obviously, I immediately cancelled my policy, although I'll keep checking to make sure they don't keep deducting my auto-pay each month. An unethical company like this would probably try something like that. I may even contact an attorney to discuss this breach of contract. BUYER BEWARE.... Car Shield does NOT stand behind their commitment!

    I'm sitting here in the repair shop to have failed tire pressure sensors replaced. CarShield first requested pictures around the outside of the vehicle. DONE. Then they wanted pictures showing the sensors failed. DONE. Now they want pictures of the catalytic converter, engine, underneath the car, and the sensors. The mechanics said if they keep this up I won't get my car until tomorrow. WTF does the catalytic converter have to do with tire air pressure sensors. They are doing everything they can to avoid a payout of $600. I have 2 policies one for each car. Looks like I need to rethink about canceling my subscriptions.

    I have had this policy for five years. I own an older Buick, which is known to have timing belt issues. Unfortunately, my service provider for oil changes has a broken printer and doesn't have internet access because they are located in an underserved area. We changed our own oil once and provided the receipt for that service. Additionally, we obtained a Carfax report and took a screenshot of the service dates for the oil changes. However, this documentation is apparently not sufficient for Car Shield, and they refuse to honor our contract. My car has been sitting at the shop, untouched, for two weeks now.

    What is the point of having insurance if it is not honored? If this situation is not resolved, I will be taking them to small claims court. Don’t worry; I work in the legal field and know how to handle it. Car Shield has the potential to be a great company, but instead, they seem to look for ways to avoid honoring a contract that I have paid into for the last five years in preparation for situations like this. I would advise avoiding this company.

    I called to get a quote and checked a few other companies as well. In that time, for the past 5 days now, CarShield has called me three times a day, even after I told them to stop calling, that if I decide to go with their company, I would call them. But instead of listening, they continued to call multiple times a day. I get there, all getting paid by commission, but when a customer tells you to quit calling them, you damn sure don't keep harassing them, and that's exactly what they're doing is harassment at this point. Somebody should not have to tell them multiple times to quit calling.

    I called three different companies and CarShield had the most coverage for the less money. It has covered a whole lot more of your vehicle for an affordable price. I got my payment down there to where it wouldn't be a strain on me and still got a good warranty that I've used a couple of times. On my five-year mark, they lowered it $10 more just for being a loyal customer for that long. So that was pretty nice. The only case to the policy is if you've got a favorite mechanic that you always take your vehicles to and he's not ASE-certified, CarShield doesn't accept that. But it's kind of a good thing.

    Majority of the shops take CarShield. CarShield won't issue a check until the work is completed and the customer is satisfied. So if the customer isn't satisfied, they're not gonna pay for something that has not been fixed that's under warranty. When the customer say he's satisfied with it, they'll pay them. That's only fair. CarShield wiil call the custoemr and make sure you're satisfied with the work and do a survey on the place you took it. So they sort of keep up with who treated who right and who treated what right.

    CarShield rejected my first claim because I didn't follow the proper procedure. I called them to make sure that my policy was up to date and in good shape, and they said it was. So I got the automobile place to go on and do a repair. It wasn't a great big repair, but then I found out that I wasn't supposed to give them that information. I was supposed to take it to the dealer, then the dealer was supposed to call CarShield and get permission for the work. The dealer and CarShield would work it out and get me my car back. But for my second claim, the place where the vehicle was serviced initiated the claim and in the end, CarShield paid them $5,000. All in all, they are great and I've never had any problem with any conversations I have had over the phone with their reps.

    When I spoke to CarShield, I was very happy with them and what they said. I've done a little shopping around, but I didn't see anything better for the dollar. I've had two situations that I needed CarShield. The first one was on a truck that got demolished later on, but something went out on the rear axle. There was an issue with some sort of sensor on the brakes. CarShield was great with that. They paid for the car rental. They paid for everything but $100 on my repairs. I've got too many miles on the cars I've got now to have that full coverage. But I do have engine and transmission coverage on both of my vehicles, and the price isn't crazy. It's cheaper than buying a new car. I did have a situation that the gas tank of the fuel pump went out on this vehicle in Amarillo. CarShield didn't pay for the fuel pump, but they paid for the towing.

    t was easy to get on with CarShield. But when I asked them about filing a claim, they told me they didn't cover it. We were traveling back from out of state and we had a blowout. It messed up the molding around the back end of the car and took out a light and everything else. CarShield said that that didn't qualify. So right now, I'm debating whether to keep them because the warranty may be good for major stuff, but when I needed help with preventive and accidental stuff, I didn't receive it. Also, I'm a senior citizen and their price is really expensive for the income that comes in my home. But if something major happened to my vehicle, it would be good to have the warranty because trying to pay for something major off my income would be very taxing on my finances.

    I had issues with my Chevy early on. Chevy covered my transmission when it went out. However, I had other issues that they didn't cover. I ended up having to pay $2,500 out of my pocket because I thought my car was still under the manufacturer's warranty, which is what made me go with CarShield.     I have an existing warranty with CarShield and I've had them for a long time. Having the warranty gives me peace of mind when something happens that at least part of it will be covered. Recently, a driver side window that wouldn't roll up and down and the power window thing has messed up the switch. The Pet Boys place where I went to called in the information to CarShield and at the moment, the work has not been completed yet because I don't have the additional funds that had to come out of my pocket to complete it. Other than that, all my claims with CarShield have gone pretty well. They didn't cover everything but I don't have any complaints. For one of my claims, they had to send somebody out to look at the vehicle at the place where it was and they did that really quickly.

    With CarShield, I could go to any mechanic and get help for my car. I had to submit a claim for my air conditioning, and the dealer did everything.     I called CarShield to sign up and it was fast and easy. They told me how much my payment would be every month and for how many years. I had my car worked on one time in the shop. It had something to do with the heater and the air conditioning. My car was in the shop for three days and CarShield gave me a rental car. All I had to do was go up to Recall Enterprise and they put me in a car, and then I took it back. I didn't have to pay anything.     Please do not use CarShield, if you try to cancel they move the dates and try to continue to your money even if you never used their services. It is not a good idea and they are not willing to work with you in hardships you are experiencing.

    A mechanic friend of mine said CarShield was good and he recommended them to me. I'd tell others not to buy it though. They like to cut the time that they let the mechanics work to a minimum, so I'm inconvenienced because I can't get a rental car which is promised underneath the contract. Outside of that, they didn't issue a refund for the remainder of the balance of my thing, so I would not recommend them to anybody. Their customer service needs to be better. Most of the other warranty companies are better. I have a new truck right now with a different warranty, and every time I go in for something, I just make a phone call and it's all set.

Now they're refusing to refund the money they took from my account for non-existent protection on my non-existent car. This is called theft and dishonorable opportunism; there's no other way to describe it. I just learned that there's a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Car Shield for this type of fraud.

    Updated on 03/30/2026: Well, in Nov 2025 I had written a long 3 page letter of complaint/denial on a claim I was about to make when the rep over the phone replied "My problem was not covered". Needless to say I was and still am very disappointed since I have been paying 99.00 over the past 5 yrs. No one replied to my letter but sent me, Get this, a packet of what was covered.... of which the packet was never sent me in the first place or I would have KNOWN what was covered. I am a Senior citizen and paid FAITHFULLY over the years for this coverage on my awesome Toyota but was denied repairs for what I had been told was suspension/bushings etc... I really expected better customer service in REPLY to my complaint. I did get my Oct payment back but seriously this is still not acceptable and me and my guy despite the commercial when it comes on to advertise CARSHIELD. Very very misleading.

    Original Review: I was never fully explained my policy (warranty) from the get-go - Now I need suspension and alignment and find out that this is not covered. I am a senior citizen and have been a faithful customer since 2020. I am appalled actually at the conversation I had with 2 agents over the phone on 11/3/2025 about the repair and my acceptance of the SAFETY ISSUE that should be covered regardless of what PLAN I went with. Again this was never gone over with - I have documentation from 2020 when I bought the PLAN.

    I am very disappointed and will go with someone else more reliable and when I think of $99.99 being taken out of my account every month FAITHFULLY for these many years, it makes my spirit sink but God never fails - He will make all things right as He, again, never fails. Regardless, my faith is stronger than any PLAN - I live for HIS PLAN. I am still not happy with CarShield today going forward unless something, anything is done to help me in this dire situation. I CHOOSE TO SAY NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE unless I get some answers and full CLARITY ABOUT WHY THIS IS NOT COVERED. SAFETY ISSUE, HELLO!!!! :(

    I was completely satisfied with CarShield because the first time I had a claim, they were right there. They paid for everything and did what they were supposed to do.
    The sad part is that the people I sent my car to messed it up. They were supposed to replace the radiator and the water pump, but they put so much antifreeze goo in there that it ended up going into my engine and messing it up. It burned up my thermostat, which I had replaced myself before I got the car insurance.
    CarShield isn’t covering the damage because it was caused by what the repair shop did, not the original issue. I picked the repair shop myself the first time. They supposedly fixed it, but they didn’t do a good job. They only half fixed it, and I paid my $100 deductible.

    The car broke down again, and I had to take it to another shop. That shop told me the first mechanics had messed my car up and sent pictures showing how some stuff had gone through the engine. As a result, my car is now totally messed up and will likely be scrapped because it’s not even worth fixing.

    I heard of CarShield on TV, and I decided to purchase it because I give $189 a month for motor and drivetrain. And there aren’t too many people who will warranty a truck that has 220,000 miles on it. So, I’ve had it for six to eight months now, but I haven’t used it yet because my truck is in good shape. But they got a good reputation.

    My truck’s got 240,000 miles, and it’s a 2016. And the motor is gonna go out one day. I’ve just been lucky. When I got the coverage, I had 220,000 miles on it. And it’s unlimited miles for $189 a month. I thought my truck was covered bumper-to-bumper. And I have it right here blow out on me. So, I called to see if they would replace it, and they said they wouldn’t replace it. So, I was misled a little bit because I thought it was bumper-to-bumper, and it’s not. It’s motor, transmission, and rear end. So, I don’t even think it covers my computer. It might, but I don’t know. It didn’t cover the radiator, for sure.

    A friend referred me to CarShield, and I got it a year ago. And whoever it was that assisted me worked hard to get me to sign up. And it’s expensive. But I had a bad experience with them. I filed a claim with them, and they denied it. They should investigate the case first before saying no. 

    So, what happened was I had an accident turning in my driveway, and I hit the pole. And then, now, I have to talk to somebody. And when the storm came over here, it messed up the hood of my car. And they were supposed to pay me for that hood. But I got a complaint that if the paint was done right, it wouldn’t peel. So, this is not hail damage on my car. It looked like they were peeling paint off the hood. I don’t know happened, but it looks very bad. So, I’m thinking if I’m gonna stay with it, because there’s another company out there.

    I've been with CarShield for years, and everything that needed to be done, they denied it. I have the gold coverage, that's why all the work that needed to be done didn't fall under the contract. I had to spend around $3,000. The only thing they covered was the water pump. They paid that because it was $200.

    The claim went quick and the customer service was all right. But when they sold me the contract, my car had 108,000 miles. And they didn't tell me that in order to get the platinum, I would have had to have less than 100,000 miles.

    CarShield sucks. They get on TV and say, "No out-of-pocket expense" but they give you the runaround. My car started jerking when I was going down the interstate. I took it to Ralph Sellers Chevrolet in Baton Rouge and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. All the lights on the dash came on. They kept it for two weeks, and I went to pick it up, it wasn't fixed. I got in the car, and the same jerking was with it. I called the guy back who said they’re getting ready to close that afternoon, so I drove the car home. I put less than 200 miles on it and it's still doing all the same thing I took it in for.

    CarShield paid $1,300 and I paid $1,000. I took it back and they wanted me to do an in-depth diagnostic, which I paid $595 for because they wouldn't pay for another one. Before I left, they said it’s the fuel pump. CarShield said that they would send the Chevrolet dealership in Baton Rouge a part and they would not accept it.

    When I took it back the second time, they decided it was a transmission. They called for an engineer to check it. He approved $6,600 and it was gonna be $10,500, and I'd have to pay the difference, around $4,000. I said no. I've taken the car to Gonzalez in Louisiana. They checked it and simply cannot find out what's wrong. The car runs perfectly, but it's still jerking. When I went and got it the second time from Baton Rouge, the power steering had gone out. I don't know if they did something to it because we never had any trouble with it yet.

    All of this is ongoing. Yesterday, I called back to CarShield and they will send a transmission and would warranty it, but I'd have to pay part of the labor. The man at the second place told me if CarShield will send the transmission, I’m still gonna be out a lot of money on pocket just from that part. Also, if they go by the book how long it'll take, it'll be 24 hours. That's labor and all that's coming in that I have to pay for. This car I bought was used and only had 30,000 miles on it. I've had it since 2015 and only have 120,000 miles on it. I had an air conditioner fixed and it was $1,600. They paid $800 and I had to pay $800 because their labor was so expensive. It's been a nightmare with CarShield. I’m looking for a new car today.

    I'm very satisfied with Carshield. The rate that I have is great and I don't think they’ll call me to tell me they’ll lower my payment. I've had to use them a couple of times, not for anything major, but they've covered it and they've been excellent. I don't know why other people that don't have the coverage anymore would not go with CarShield.

    With claims, once they got the report from the dealership, they immediately worked on getting that taken care of. I didn't have any trouble getting a rental. That was my concern because it’s my only vehicle. By the time I went over to the Enterprise, that car was ready, no questions asked other than my driver's license and my insurance.

    With customer service, everybody I spoke to, from the first initial call to any time I call for service, is all trained right. I have their number to call and they're ready to help me. I haven't said I didn't like the way they spoke to me or I don’t think they gave me the right information. I’ve been with CarShield for three years.     I’ve had nothing but great experience with CarShield. I’ve had them for seven months at $119 a month and they covered almost $10,000 on my vehicle. I had an issue with a motor and a cooling system. The shop that originally did the motor left out motor mounts. So I had to send it back to another shop and they put motor mounts in. It got another 3 grand worth of work done. So altogether, I’m at about the $13,000 mark that CarShield has paid out on my vehicle in a year and a half.

    The claim process is very easy. I’ve read a lot of bad stuff on the internet about CarShield. People would say that they didn’t cover their transmission or the motor. But a lot of them didn’t keep up with the maintenance. So I make sure I kept all the documents so when CarShield asked, I immediately sent them the oil change receipts. That was the only thing they asked and they covered it. Overall, I’m happy with CarShield and I love them. They have a customer service for life.

    My car sat in the shop for a year waiting for CarShield to fix it. It sat there nice in the damn junk yard and was messed up. I called them and nobody said anything. It’s like they’re trying to figure out some way to deny your claim through them.

    It ended up, CarShield just needed pictures of the car. They thought I was trying to fix another car under the warranty. They said the VIN number should be enough. If I’m paying CarShield $100 a month and all they need is some damn pictures, then give the $100 to somebody to go out there and see if it’s the right car.

    I took the car’s pictures myself and sent it to CarShield, and they still haven’t done anything. The car ended up getting towed in the junk yard, and I spent $1,000 to get it out of there. It’s beat up and I no longer have the car.

    They tell you they’re supposed to be the best thing. I switched from another warranty over to CarShield. They pissed me off. I don’t wanna hear anything about CarShield from anybody. I’m not with them anymore.

    I had a car that was coming out of warranty that I wanted to keep, and I decided that as soon as I was finished with the payments, the thing that I would want to do is to maintain a warranty for it because it’s more economical when dealing with an emergency. And I chose CarShield because they’re affordable and the coverage is good.

    CarShield saved me a lot of money because within a couple of years, I had a major issue with the PU joint on the drivetrain, which was a big deal. And it probably would have caused me to have to sell my car if I hadn’t had CarShield.

    Getting the car repaired was a lengthy process, but it was because of the supply chain issues. And when they finally got the part, they broke it. So, they had to send out for another part. And the only thing that I was disappointed about the process was that I didn’t realize how much coverage I had for rental. So, I never really used that coverage. I didn’t realize I had it.

    The gentleman at the shop refuses to take CarShield because CarShield had taken several months to pay him what was owed, so I ended up paying out-of-pocket . He said that a few shops that he knows of refuses to take CarShield for that reason, so I dropped CarShield for a while, because if companies aren’t gonna take CarShield, then why am I paying into it?

    I have an older 2008 Mercedes, and I wanted full coverage on it. But CarShield gave me a policy that has a lot of loopholes in it where they can weasel out of things. I filed two claims, one of which was for a latch in a door. The door went out and they did fix that. They paid off all but $300 and I had to pay the rest. Then they denied the other claim. They said it was a shock absorber problem. But my car has the Mercedes Air Shock system and it costs $1,900 to replace that. I got stuck with that bill.

    They can do better. The customer service wouldn’t talk to me and they only talk to the dealership. If you’ve got an old car, you want the best policy you can get and beat them down on the price. Play hardball with them and then they will come down. If you don’t walk away there with the best policy they have and the cheapest price possible, don’t go with them.

    My car cut off in the middle of the road. I had full coverage at CarShield but they wouldn’t cover it. They were trying to say the car was driven when it was tore up. I had a 2014 Chevy Malibu and these do not go if the motor shut off.

    Insurance is supposed to fix your car, if you have it. That’s why I got CarShield, in case something happens to my car, I can get it fixed. But they offered me nothing. I’m so worried and I don’t know what to do. I had a light stroke behind that because I was so upset and hurt. I paid all my money in the CarShield but they wouldn’t fix my car. I ended up paying the car dealership because I had to let my car go back early.

    I’ve always had extended warranties, so I heard about CarShield from the commercial. The signup process was pretty decent. I filled everything out online and paid some money. I have an Infiniti, so I try to find a shop that specializes in them within their payment system guide. CarShield gives you a radius from your house. I take it to the merchant, they contact them on my behalf and tell them what’s wrong with it, and then we’ll see if they pay.

    For the most recent claim, I found one down the street. It took them maybe 9 or 10 days to fix it, which is kind of a little long, but I wasn’t complaining ‘cause I already had another car. And CarShield called me to ask if the merchant had my car, and they paid for the claim. Every time I’ve used it, it worked well. I was skeptical because I have other friends that say it didn’t, but it has worked for me. I’ve had it four years and I’ve only used it twice, and they paid for both. It was hassle-free. The goal is to never have to use them, but when I had to use them, it worked out.

    I signed up my Dodge Caliber and van for CarShield. I didn’t really understand what happened with the Caliber, but I know that the battery was dead. I didn’t even charge it until months later. Because the battery was dead, I couldn’t tell them the exact mileage and just guesstimated. I told the guy that I was just guesstimating.     I had CarShield for a few years, but I don’t haver them anymore. When I got home and turned my ignition off, I saw water running from underneath of my car. I took it to the CarShield and they told me that they couldn’t fix it because I was driving my car while it was hot. I told them that I didn’t have any light come on to tell me that my car was running hot, but they didn’t honor it so I had to pay $4,000 to get it fixed.

    I see their advertisements. They’re not true, because they didn’t honor what they said. ‘Cause I wasn’t driving it. I stayed with them another year and a half, but that was a big disappointment.

    I bought a used pickup truck that was in a very good shape in 2013. I decided that getting coverage was the best thing to do at that time. I just had an open heart surgery and I wasn’t about to try and do any repairs myself or didn’t have a lot of money to put out to the shop. I checked into CarShield to find out exactly what it was about. This was the best coverage at that time and so I opened an account.

    I had a couple Corvettes. I went to a shop that had worked on my other vehicles and they said they handle CarShield. It was a little bit of a process though. I called CarShield what shop I was going to go to. When I got to the shop, they called the number too. They were saying that they’ve had problems before and nobody was getting back to them. It took them about five days before they finally got the okay to go ahead and do something. Other than that, it was good and I saved a lot of money on it.

    I would tell my friends that having CarShield eases your mind. It takes a lot of weight off your shoulders just knowing that you don’t have to worry about your vehicle if anything does happen. I’m retired and it’s a little rough. If you have any medical issues, it’s even rougher to come up with the money. We also have a motor home and I wish they had some kind of coverage for it.

    I purchased a CarShield plan for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, believing it would protect me from expensive repairs. When my head gasket failed—a part clearly listed as covered in the contract—CarShield approved $3,000 but refused to cover the remaining $10,000+ in repairs. They falsely claimed I was negligent and continued driving after the vehicle overheated, even though I provided tow documentation showing I had it immediately towed.

    The mechanic confirmed that the debris in the engine resulted from the gasket failure, not neglect. I have always kept up with maintenance, and this issue is a known problem in this model. To make things worse, CarShield withdrew another monthly payment after denying my claim, which is unacceptable and unethical. The company ignored facts, contradicted its own coverage terms, and treated a loyal customer unfairly. Bottom line: CarShield does not stand behind its contract. They delay, deny, and continue to charge customers even after refusal. I strongly urge others to read the fine print carefully and think twice before purchasing coverage from this company.

    I always purchase older cars and I always put an extended warranty on them if I can. I heard CarShield was pretty great. I used them in the past and had no problems with them. I’m very upkeep on my car. Now, I’m dealing with them again. The thing that bothers me is that they don’t explain things to you in the way that they should. They don’t break it down to you when you ask them questions. The one who talked to me was not very knowledgeable about parts and what comes with them. If they could explain things in more detail, they could get a lot more customers or get a lot more people willing to jump on the bandwagon. What would be best is if they could have somebody explain things better.

    As soon as CarShield took my money, the rep said, “You’re signed up. You’re covered.” I went and bought the truck in Tennessee. This truck is well-kept. I had no problems for four months until I finally had one. CarShield didn’t explain to me stuff like the injectors. When I’m thinking engine, I’m thinking everything on the engine. That’s what the mechanic people are saying, too. Every mechanic I have talked to about CarShield said that’s the number one thing. I noticed it, too. They don’t explain anything to people. They just want you to get the service.

    I’ve been in the car business 20 years. I got three people right now waiting to see what CarShield is gonna do to my truck. I’ve been telling them right now, “You guys hold on, let me see how they take care of me before you guys sign up.” My mom is one of them. I don’t want her to get involved in anything like that because you have to pay a monthly bill and you’re not getting a return on your investment if something happens. I’m waiting before I let the the three people know what’s going on. Right now, I wouldn’t recommend CarShield to anybody until I see what’s going on myself.

    CarShield is well worth the money, especially if you have a newer car. So much more is covered. A few years ago when my car was no longer under a warranty and I needed some kind of security, I told some people about CarShield. They laughed and said, “Why are you doing that? You’re paying for nothing.” I said, “When I need them, then you won’t be asking me that.” My car was older. There were three types of plans that I could get depending on the age of the car. I got the middle one and they gave me a booklet which was my contract. CarShield didn’t always cover everything but it did cover some stuff.

    I’m happy with CarShield but there was one thing I didn’t like. I live out in Saint Peters, Missouri, and there was just one automobile repair shop I was going to. It’s called Christian Brothers and they made it sound like they were one of the few shops in the area that use CarShield because they never paid on time or didn’t want to pay for some stuff. I was told I needed a new catalytic converter and it was gonna be $3,300.

    I shopped around and I spoke with a young lady from CarShield. She was just the cutest thing. She told me about how they use Salt River Automotive Repair which is not far from us. She said, “We love going there. In fact, all the employees from CarShield go there. The CEO, and not only that, their families use it too.”

    I went to Salt River Automotive Repair to have my car checked out. It was $1,000 cheaper than Christian Brothers. I told the guy there that it seemed like every time I went to get an oil change, instead of paying them $100, it was now gonna cost me $500 or $600. The guy told me what it was gonna cost for them to do it. I asked if they were involved with CarShield and was told they work with them all the time. I don’t know why Christian Brothers did what they did. They made it sound like they didn’t want to use CarShield, but they would go ahead because I was a valued customer. CarShield called them about the catalytic converter and they said under my contract, it was not covered.

    I had CarShield before on my other car. The signup process was too rushed. They did not give me a chance to think about it. I knew I needed it, but I wanted a day to call back after I got quoted. But then I was told that the quote that they gave me then is not going to be good if I call back, so I got it. That would have been my only complaint.

    And then, the last time that I had the CarShield on my other car, it seems like that everything that was broken down was not covered by CarShield. The motor mounts were not covered and something in the engine that I thought should have been covered was not covered. But I did get it again for another car. So I'll have to see if CarShield stands by their word about getting the parts fixed.

    I've had coverage with CarShield for many years right now. I got it when I had the 2007 Grand Caravan and AAA. When I saw what it covered, I figured I'd take a chance and it saved me a lot of money.

    My radio blew out twice in my 2016 Dodge. If it wasn’t for CarShield, that would have been a lot of money. It was never a problem getting in touch with a representative. The only problem I had is with car dealerships. My one car dealer who sells used cars, he had no problem with it. Dodge, Chrysler, Ford, they had problems with it. They don't want to give up their profit or write-off.

    And the radio I just got about a year ago, that was the second one that burned out on this 2016 Dodge. So when they went to reorder the same one, they didn't make it anymore. So I actually got a Bluetooth. It's got USB input, an auxiliary input, I can have Sirius radio if I want it. My cellphone answers through it. Everything is hands-free.

    It was pretty easy to sign up with CarShield. The first time I filed a claim, they took care of everything. This last time, I had to do everything. I brought my car to the place they recommended and when I brought it out, it had a whole another set of issues that wasn’t there when I first started.     I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the monthly Powertrain Gold plan. You might think you are covered for the powertrain, but you may not be. Read and reread and get a mechanic to read the coverage that you are getting. My transmission started giving me trouble, took to a dealer. I was told that I would be responsible for any portion CarShield did not pay. Dealer contacted CarShield and it was denied based on the warranty (some parts in the transmission are not covered). Again, please read what is covered under the warranty. This is going to cost me 4000 dollars.
