I do not have a paper copy of my CarShield policy to store in my Honda Fit. If I am to be a satisfied customer then I need a paper copy of my policy to determine my coverages and other options.

My coverage was explained in depth as what coverage is offered on my contract. I wish I was offered both packages that you sell in the beginning of my coverage period would have helped my current repair issue. So please in the near future offer the customer both packages so that everything thing can covered Is actually covered.

So I got this because I thought it would be good to have. Needless to say my car stopped working. It had oil leaks and the engine gave out. They wouldn't fix the issue. So what exactly am I paying for if you won't fix the engine when I have a powertrain warranty. The biggest rip off ever. Don't believe these reviews.

I've not had to use my Car Shield for any reason, so I can't say anything about their service. Thank you Robert. I have been involved with several After Market insurance companies but I began searching the markets for the top car shield companies and after searching for about three months I discovered that Car Shield was the top company, so here I am a very satisfied customer with Car Shield. Accepting payments, very friendly. Will see how they handle a service claim. I have taken in one of my covered vehicles for water leak and rattling noise, so we will see if it is covered by them. This shop does not like dealing with Car Shield.

Car Shield handled my claim on my car very quickly and it took no time to get my car back. You can go to any dealership or automotive shop that's is ASE certified to have your vehicle repaired. I love my Car Shield coverage. I also recommended a few people and both of us received an extra discount on our monthly pricing.

I want to commend Dominic for his excellent explanation of the CarShield warranty. My cars are older (Lincoln Town Car and Mercury Gran Marquis). They will need repairs, no doubt. So my questions were many. For example: the Lincoln is a 2000. But, as long as I keep my monthly payments timely, the warranty continues, beyond 20 years. I have no plans to ever sell this car - so you can see how important this factor will be. Dominic's answers were thorough, and as detailed as I required. He was an excellent listener. He knows his product well. And he's respectful. I've never, before now, been fond of extended warranties. But now, I have complete confidence that, finally, I found a company with a warranty that suited my needs, and my budget. Thank you, Dominic, and CarShield, for this peace-of-mind. It's priceless!

I recently had to have my front wheel bearings replaced on both the right and left about 3 months apart. Two issues, what CarShield allows for time and parts and what my mechanic charges are too far apart. Second, the first job CS covered over half the expense. This last time they covered less than half. I paid about $140 more out of pocket for the exact work, parts and time. So I wasn't thrilled. On a positive note, your Customer Service folks were professional even though they couldn't help me further.

I'm actually just preparing to file a claim, My Very First Claim as a matter of fact. I believe, and am hoping, that the antifreeze/coolant loss I began experiencing is due to a typical water pump seal leaking from the "Weep Hole" requiring the water pump be replaced. So far the only issue I've encountered has been ME, LoL. Luckily, I know of no less than four repair facilities around my area that are second to none which isn't very common, especially as sometimes a bit too picky for my own good maybe but that's not going to change any time soon, LoL. Now I just have to decide which Facility has to put up with me... Again, LoL. Decisions Decisions...
CarShield has even gone so far as to pretty much insist that I need not make my choice based on the closest so it shouldn't be a problem just topping off the coolant and driving my car a mile or two. Just call for a Flatbed to pick it up and take it to the shop of my choice. HuH, LoL?!? Well just.... WoW!?! Like I Said, So Far, So Great!!!

This company Car Shield is smoke and mirrors. They sell you a top tier, bumper to bumper repair but they DO TELL you they exclude an alarming amount of simple things that are associated with what they say they cover but do not cover in their policies at all. Example: My transmission is covered in the policy of things they cover but seals, o-rings and hoses associated with the transmission plus the cost of inspection were not cover to the tune of $644.00. My transmission had a leak of transmission fluid and nothing in my car system showed fluid was low or critical so they ruled that my transmission was not covered because it was not a system failure but mine because I did not check for a low fluid level. Who checks their own fluid levels for a transmission. Another example: The coolant system is covered but because the system needed to be flushed to repair they did not cover the flush of a cost of $347.00.
I have been paying for an extended warranty for almost 6 months because mine had expired and used them but it seems I paid them close to $79.00 each month for nothing because I still had to pay for my own repairs. Why do you need an extended warranty when they do not cover you for what they promised in the policy. The policy coverage was not sent to me and I find that what they say is covered in it is not explained to you when you purchase their car policy. They use every loophole they can use to not pay for a claim you file with this bogus company pretending to be a legitimate extended warranty insurance provider for your car.
Bottom line, BUYER BEWARE of Car Shield Insurance Company because they will do everything in their power to wiggle out of a legitimate claim you may have to decline coverage and pay for it as they promised in the initial quote you received. My expensive mistake should be YOUR WARNING not to work with this company that claims to be the alternative for expensive automobile repair. As it turned out they made it much more expensive to repair my car with their added monthly premium for a Car Shield's top tier policy that did not help in reducing or cover my cost to repair what they said they would in the bumper to bumper extended warranty policy.

Wanted to reinstate previous policy. I spoke with a very informative young lady and she answered all my questions and concerns. I have had “Carshield“ for a while and have been satisfied with the service. I had open heart surgery and my wife didn’t know about my policy and missed a couple payments. Now I cannot reinstate my old policy and have to start over with a policy with less coverage. I’m not sure, I have other companies offering policies that are comparable to my old policy with Carshield for a slightly lower price, so I just have to decide.

I can only speak (so far) about my customer service rep and the service I'm told I'll be getting if I need it, but James was exemplary, articulate and personable, and seemed knowledgeable too. I was more confident knowing that he was required to have an insurance license (I am licensed also), it made the company seem more credible. I only wish every customer service rep was as good, and I certainly hope that CarShield's reps are all as good because this is too important to not have qualified, knowledgeable people. I heard an advertisement for CarShield on the radio and due to the person advertising for them, I thought it was worth the try....Fast forward about two years later, $2400 spent on the warranty and about three attempts to cancel; I am finally fed up and I cancelled this morning. I have had several repairs done on my vehicle, some of the parts were covered but due to investigation, the part that took out the covered part is not covered so “sorry, not sorry” CarShield isn’t going to cover it...frown face!!!
They give you this big spiel about “what are you going to do when your car breaks down and you cant cover it?”...well the same thing I will do if I have you guys....pay out of pocket! They guilt you into keeping their garbage policy, tell you they will cover parts at a reduced cost, but that's just a bunch of nonsense too, because they have an excuse for that! I have spent enough on CarShield that if I had put it in savings, I could pay for all those issues, but because I thought they were reputable, I screwed myself over. Don’t do it! Find a good, reasonable garage that can do the work, not the dealer and don't contact CarShield!

This is a total fraud. No dealers in DC, MD, or VA accepts them. I’ve called 50. Literally. Then when I called Carshield they lied and said “no they do accept because it’s American Auto Shield". But that was a lie. They will take your money and sell you dreams. It's all about getting you to pay that fee every month. Nothing else will they actually help you with. Also when they tell you you can cancel anytime or pay anytime (the malarkey they tell you when your signing up).. Don’t believe it. They don’t even put notes of convos and calls in. Also they will try to give you protocol bs to try to keep your money until you get firm with them and the politeness is out the window. DO NOT BUY CAR SHIELD..AMERICAN AUTO SHIELD..ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH COMPANY!! THEY WILL ROB YOU!
And I was foolish enough to put contracts for two cars. Now I’m out of 3-500 bucks because nobody will accept them. PLEASE. I BEG YOU!! SAVE YOURSELF A HASSLE.. EVERYTHING THEY SAY IS A LIE!! And I have written statements from at least 20 shops..because I was gonna pursue litigation 'cause I felt lied to but I’ll chalk it up as a lesson learned.

I wanted a service contract for my vehicle It was to have the peace of mind if something was to go wrong with it. A bunch of great people helped me cleared up a lot of questions that I had about CarShield. I filed an engine repair claim with them. The process was a headache especially that they made me have the adjuster out three times, which just kept running up the bill with them.
Also, the process took a little over a month which included getting the claim approved and the warranty company getting back to the dealership. It was a long process. I had to call the extended warranty company, and they told me that they were waiting to hear back from me when that wasn't how it was supposed to be. I was supposed to hear directly from the dealership, and then the dealership was supposed to talk directly to the extended warranty company. So, there was some chain of command that was skewed. And there could definitely be some corrections in that department. Nevertheless, I love CarShield but I had to cancel my policy because my monthly bill was adding up over time. If I could’ve brought it down a little bit, that would have helped.

I am pleased with the service so far. I called CS and the rep gave me my claim number, my pol number and the steps on what to do next regarding the problem with my vehicle. My husband and I have been told it was the ignition switch but all I know is the vehicle is not starting all the time when I am driving it. Once we get an estimate we will upload an image.

I got a used 2001 Kia, and I wanted to get some kind of extended warranty. But their extended warranty was very expensive. So I got the extended warranty through CarShield. The person that I spoke to who helped me get the policy was good. He was kind and patient. He gave me pretty good knowledge being that I was getting a used car. But when I had to get the engine fixed, the claims process was very long. It took about two months, and I'm still waiting on my refund check for the towing. I talked to someone and she said they were gonna try to go ahead and process it right away because that happened in July, and it's almost the end of the year. But that's the only problem I had. They gave me a rental vehicle from the dealership, so I could get back and forth to work.

I took my Van in to see if it had a loose belt. My mechanic found the A/C compressor was failing. I called CarShield to see if this fix was covered. It was. I only had to pay my $100 deductible and my mechanic just had to submit his invoice to Car Shield to be paid in full. I am beyond satisfied and plan to keep CarShield. I was treated with respect and my repair was quickly resolved.

The person I initially talked to to set up the account was good. Starting a claim seemed easy but there was a few hiccups. But they interacted with the repair shop, and then things went rather smoothly after that. Once everything was in place, it's been pretty easy for my end. It took a little bit longer than I expected and I wasn't offered a rental. But it didn't seem unreasonably long because while I was waiting, I was in contact with CarShield as well as the repair shop. So I'm satisfied. It did what it said it would do. There were things they didn't cover, but then I expected that as well. It was worth the cost and worth having the insurance for me.

Lease was ending and I anticipated purchasing the car but wanted extended warranty. At lease-end service appt. I was presented with new lease options too good to pass up, so submitted CANCELLATION letter (in writing) three (3) days after acquiring policy. I received cancellation confirmation within a week. I appreciate the company being "people of their word".

The person that sold my CarShield warranty to me was professional, but they could have done a bit of a better job. They did not explain the fact that the warranty does not cover certain parts or pieces, like rubber and plastic pieces. When the motor went out on my vehicle, I utilized the warranty to get the motor replaced. However, after my warranty paid its part, I still owed about twelve and a half hundred dollars, which left a bad taste in my mouth. I bought the warranty so I didn’t’ have to come up with that kind of money all at once. Had the limited service been fully disclosed up front, I would have been completely satisfied with the service because I would have known what I was getting. But since it was not, I’m dissatisfied with CarShield.

Very much was my fallback if I ever needed coverage I never had to call CarShield but I know they are reliable. I think when I buy my next vehicle I will definitely get CarShield coverage if I don’t have warranty.

I've paid over 3k dollars into this warranty and Every time there's a problem they deny the claim. I have transmission and engine warranty but they've set inspectors to look at the problems and say it's normal "wear and tear" or come up with ways around actually covering anything on my vehicle. The engine had issues but they said it was gaskets and other parts of the engine that erect covered, now the same thing with the transmission. I paid over 3k dollars for this warranty but they refuse to cover anything. The first time I had it on my other car I got lucky and only had a small issue but the second I had to purchase another warranty and they won't even cover a window regulator saying the mechanic messed it up and they can't cover the part now. Like I said a bunch of excuses on why they can't cover anything.
Customer service never has a clue what they're talking about. I was told by one representative that he's not a mechanic and can't explain why they wouldn't cover the transmission. Another representative went into how they've switched hands and now I'm basically screwed. Saying I could purchase a better warranty coverage and pay another 3k dollars. Basically they're trying to get more money after already getting two policies from me and several thousand dollars. Biggest scam ever! DO NOT TRUST TRUST COMPANY! They give you very little coverage for the price you pay but trick you into thinking your covered and have peace in mind.
I've had 3 different mechanics and dealerships tell me that they are full of it and they ripped me off. Claims dept is no better. They take days to get back to you then they also blame the inspectors and claim they don't understand their notes and they'll have someone contact me as to why it's denied. Still no resolution or call back. The entire company is worthless and you can't get a straight answer from anyone.

So it been going on 6 weeks and still not fix. My vehicle shop that is a Ford dealership has done everything they ask to so but the warranty keep adding more stuff. Come on. The Ford say it the motor now let get it fixed. I have never had warranty give me this much much trouble. I know I will never buy another one through you all and I won't send nobody to you. My next step is get a lawyer involved. Another thing you have rude customer service rep that changed up won the Ford dealership and me.

To whom it may concern; we received an letter stating that we must contact your organization within a specific time period or I coverage would possibly be canceled!! To wit: upon reading said letter we attempted to call on Sunday, but your offices are closed, so on Monday November 18th, we contacted your representative, upon which we were told that our vehicle protection was in fact covered, and that said letter was mistakenly sent to us. First, I was shocked when my vehicle needed services. I believed it was motor mount and some type of belt thing but anyways. When Chambers called, they asked to speak to me and the operator was very pleasant, I mean I was under pressure about my vehicle but the kindness calmed me down. Overall, It was a great pleasure, and it was a great experience when I needed assistance with my vehicle.

I was referred to CarShield by my mother. Their rep was pretty good and friendly. A lot of information he didn't know or he wasn't aware of, he had to look up or ask a supervisor. But other than that, he had done everything he did to the best of his abilities. I didn't even know what I was looking for. He helped me out. I told him I needed something that was gonna take over the powertrain warranty for the engine and the transmission. And he pretty much gave me the plan that I got now.
I'm not happy with CarShield though. I don't like the long delayed process that goes through with filing the claim. When my transmission was going out, I took it to the shop for them to do a diagnostics. The first part was they test drove it. It took a week. And the guy said, "Yeah. There's definitely some problem with the transmission." The next step was CarShield wanted him to open the transmission up. And they told me that I would have to cover the cost if they opened it up, and it wasn't an issue that they covered under the warranty. I thought that was bogus. That was something that was not explained to me at the beginning of the terms and the conditions. And that took a week.
After that, once they opened it up and took it apart, it took a week for the person to come back out there to find out what the issue was internally. And when they finally felt that was the issue, I was looking at four weeks and about $1,000 in car rental expenses for having a rental vehicle because they only covered four days. It cost me more money. I had to continue paying for my policy, and I had to continue my daily expenses on top of that rental vehicle. It cost me more money to get my car fixed. I would have then brought it off and paid for it to get my own car fixed. I'm dissatisfied. I went in for car transmission diagnostics and my experience took longer and more stressful as heck with them.

I had an older vehicle at home that needed a extended warranty, and CarShield was very affordable and very reasonable. The guy explaining the warranty to me was very clear on what was covered and how the protection worked. He was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of information. When I got the engine repaired, the process was just as everything that had happened especially in today’s society. I knew I was gonna encounter some BS. I was going on a cross country trip and I was hearing some sluggish, and I took it to the Lexus dealership. But I was not interested in what they quoted me. I told them it was drivable, and I just noticed some sluggishness in it. So I told them to put it back together and I would come and get it. They put it back together, and I went and got it.
When I got the vehicle and drove it, it felt like it was worse than what it was when I took it in there. So I brought it back and told them to contact the extended warranty people and that was what they did. Then they called me back to tell me that the warranty people said my vehicle was covered. I was shocked. The warranty people were not talking to me, but they were talking to the car dealership. So when I got in contact with the warranty people, that part became a hassle because I had to talk to different people, and not a special agent handling the case. Everybody had to go in to read what was said by somebody who documented something. But I found it to be more helpful talking to different people because different people are more knowledgeable in the engine build and in special stuff that’s going on with different vehicles.
When I initially called in, CarShield said my vehicle was covered. So they sent out a tech to go to Lexus to check it out. Once they made it there, they said that they needed to do further diagnostics on the vehicle that requires them to break down the engine. They said that once they break the engine down and determined that they don’t cover it, the break down would be on me and also the rest of the stuff. But if it was not covered, they wouldn’t have sent a tech out to Lexus to look at it. I told them I got a cracked windshield, and they said they don’t need to send a tech out to look at a cracked windshield. And that they already know a cracked windshield is not covered. So what's not covered is in black and white.
Every time I call somebody, I’m getting different people and I don’t have any problem, but I need someone to explain it to me as if I’m a two year old. So that was when the guy started breaking it down to me. And then he told me that he was reading the contract and they had a less experienced technician who told me my vehicle was not covered. He would have been right if the part that was faulty was not part of the engine. But the part that was faulty is built in the engine, so I was covered. It was great. I was not expecting it. The only thing was that I had to go through different channels to get the answer to what I needed. And for regular everyday people, that could be a hassle. But overall, I am very satisfied with the experience of having CarShield. It saved me so much money. It’s a great plan and organization.

My minivan broke down. So I take to the shop. The shop says I need a new computer for the minivan because of water damage. Carshield wouldn't cover the repairs. So I'm out of $900.00 which is ridiculous because when you buy extended warranty they're suppose to cover it. But this company is just out for the money. If I didn't have this extended warranty I would already had half the repair bill covered since paying their monthly fee. They only out for themselves. They don't care about their customers at all. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

I picked CarShield because the reviews I had seen were favorable. I paid extra and got the better warranty that covered electronics. The guy told me then it should cover basically everything that wasn't wear and tear. I have had numerous extended warranties without any issues in the past. Now my heater went out and guess what??? They don't cover that. They are also denying coverage of dealer parts and only will allow after market parts that they send in. This was a total misrepresentation of what I was told!!! Even the dealer said he has never seen an extended warranty at that price be so poor. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY. We also called them and they don't care and won't cover anything if it's not in the warranty. Now I don't know about you but I don't think I would think to look to make sure it covered heat. This is a $3200 extended warranty!! I am MAD. I am a professional and this is total crappy service and scammish.

I had a horrible experience with CarShield. One of the timing belts on the car came loose and crashed a motor. So I needed a new motor. Their process was long because of the going back and forth with them over labor time and parts. They didn't wanna pay for a bunch of parts. I ended up coming out of about 1,600 bucks out of pocket. Since the repair, the car's running fine but it was a drawn out and very uncomfortable process. It took me about a month and a half to get my car fixed and they only paid rental for about five days. They were not friendly at all. You don't deal with one contact person. You deal with whoever answers the phone. They leave you on old for hours. They hang up in your face. I've had people tell me that they could cancel my claim out and make me pay for all the repairs myself. I'm very dissatisfied.

Vehicle was a bit sluggish and I needed to find out why I was not getting full power while driving and there was some shaking and rattling in the front. Periodically, when I called AAS it was too long of a hold and there were a couple of rude representatives. Not a positive experience at times.

They came through a couple of times when I needed them. When I had a transmission claim, they paid for it. It was about $10,000. I was shocked myself. As soon as I took the car out, something happened to the water pump -- it was about a week later -- and they covered that too. It was $10,000 to $15,000 so far on my vehicle. It took a long time, a lot of back and forth and fighting with dealers and with them. My car was in the shop for two months. But I got it now. They were as helpful as they could be. Sometimes, you get a little trapped because if you don’t read everything, you may end up having to spend money. There are certain things they’re not gonna cover. They don’t explain everything. I don’t know a lot about cars and I had my fingers crossed every time there was something wrong with my car. I call them and ask if they cover this or that and they’ll tell me yeah. They will have to send an adjuster down and make sure of it.

Although I couldn't utilize this service, I received my refund in a timely fashion. I believe the price points are pretty expensive, especially for people on a budget. Worked the discount as much as possible, still couldn't get my monthly premium below $100. Other services out there seem to be reasonably priced. I appreciate the fact that I was able to easily cancel my policy when I found my existing, effective policy.

I'm on a fixed income and it would break us if I had any major car problems. I already got the extended warranty on my other car so I also got another contract from CarShield for one car. I went with them mainly for the price and the representatives did a good job when I was purchasing. Then, I took my car to my Ford dealership here in town when there was an issue. They examined it, did the inspection, and then it took me 3 weeks to get the work done.
The problem was with my transmission and they said that because it was with what they call the wiring harness, then they wouldn't cover it. The problem is one has to dismantle the transmission to put that said harness in. And it was causing my overdrive light to come on and cause the transmission to shift erratically. That's one reason why I got the extended warranty! Yet they still wouldn't cover it and I had to cover that on my own. I was just mad and didn't wanna call and get into an argument with them. Also, a loaner vehicle is not covered under CarShield, which is wrong. When I am paying for extra coverage like that and if the car has to go in the shop for any length of time, then I should have a vehicle to drive. But that didn't happen. Still, I'm satisfied with the coverage.

The service representative was kind and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions very professionally. And she suggest that I get a diagnostic on my car and referred me to the claims department. When I took my to the garage, the mechanic found that there was excessive oil in the motor. The mechanic (Cooper's Automotive) drained the oil and brought the oil levels within normal operational limits. That solved the leakage problem. Because of the integrity of this automotive service team I didn't have to make a claim on this occasion. So, I didn't speak to that department. I can't comment on what I haven't experienced. I am grateful to Cooper's Automotive. They saved me from having to make a claim. That's good for me as a person because it saved me time and perhaps money if you denied the claim. And it saved you as a company from having to issue payment on a claim.

My wife and got CarShield and when we went to file a claim they was quick to deny it and refused to pay for any costs. Came up with multiple excuses and why even after we both followed all the rules and directions the customer service. Wouldn't help so basically I recommend not using this company. Then after we brought up maybe canceling the plan it was quick to tell us that there would be no refund but their commercials clearly say if any reason you're not satisfied you'll be refunded. So I'd highly recommend for everybody to read the reviews on this company before getting anything from them.

I had gold coverage which covered the coolant system. I had a coolant intake pipe leak and was denied coverage. If I'm not mistaken the coolant intake pipe is part of the coolant system so why was I denied. I have cancelled my contract with Carshield. Be cautious about this company. I found out many people were having Similar complaints. Check the BBB.

When my AC was not working, they didn't cover it as well as the starter. I had to pay almost $1,000 to fix something they didn't cover the other day. But I like the customer service. I paid my premiums every month and was appalled that they CS actually wanted my mechanic to break down my transmission after already sending a claims adjuster to test ride in the vehicle. They CS said they do this all the time. CS just uses this as a ploy so they can deny your claim. If whatever is causing the failure they will say that part is not covered. Meanwhile you the customer have a broken down vehicle you have to pay to restore. Oh Yeah forgot to mention you can get a rental at your expense that now you are now on the hook for. Hmmm let me see you are out of the monthly premium, you have to pay to get your vehicle restored and pay for the rental and towing if applicable because they deny your claim. Can you say S C A M.

Sorry you feel this way. The tear down is necessary to determine the cause of failure of the transmission. Without it, there is no way to know what is causing the issue. I have already spoken to two people in your firm and was told that it was on its way to me BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT TO DATE AND AM STARTING TO WONDER IF YOUR FIRM IS LEGIT OR NOT. Discovered that CarShield is not a member of the Better Business Bureau. That membership is important to me for satisfaction peace of mind. Cancelled contract for their non-membership. CS very helpful and pleasant in completing the cancellation and payment refund. Will reconsider CarShield if and when they decide to join BBB.

The first interaction I had with CarShield was when I had the car towed. I had to pay some money out of my pocket. It was $16. I said, "Why? They said it’s free." They never gave me authorization to get a rental car. Thank god that I have the other car her and I was able to get around. They told me that I had to rent a car first out of my pocket, and then CarShield would reimburse me with the term that I paid for it. That was just the first one, the towing, taking the car over there. I had to pay some money out of my pocket. Second, the issue was with the motor. The rep from the dealer called me, wanted my permission to open the motor of the car, and if the car was not maintenance, I will have to pay. I said open it. and that went okay.
The car is is still on the shop and from the day that I took it there, it has almost been two months. They bought a motor and they switched the pieces out from that motor to the motor on my car. What I have is just pieces for my car. I took the car out of the shop. I had to take it back because it was still giving me a warning, something about the engine of the car. When I took the car back, they said there were some pieces that CarShield doesn’t cover. Altogether, it was $3500, and I paid that out of my pocket. Then the guy told me, “You will have to bring the car back because the car will not work property.” So, I took it back, and I don't know what piece it was. I still have to call Infiniti for the other pieces So, the second time, I paid $575.
And then, I had to take the car back because the bearings of the car was smelling like burning. I took it back and they said that it was the bearings of the car. CarShield didn't cover it. I had to pay $575. I brought the car back home. And the car was running as if I was forcing it and so I had to take the car back. So, it’s the bearings of the car and another piece. So, for that piece and the bearings, I had to pay another $1000. So, what do I need CarShield for if I had to pay $3500, $575, and now $1000 out of my pocket?
Nobody explained the warranty to me. One thing these guys should do before they agree to insure any car, to have the car inspected before it goes over there so they know in what type of condition the car is before you get it. But there was nothing wrong with the car. What happened with the car was that the car had an accident, and there was something wrong with the axle, and I paid that out of my pocket.
When I brought the car back, not knowing that the radiator of the car got a pin or whatever, in the accident, and the hole that goes through the motor fell. So, I never knew that the car was getting overheated because it had never showed me that it was getting overheated. And then guy told me that there’s something about the Infiniti car. Instead of getting the car get overheated when the switch tell you that the car is hot, what the car would do is shut down. But still, the car was getting overheated. So, that’s where the issue started with motor of the car.
And it’s been two months that the car has been with the dealer, and it’s still there because I don't have the $1000 to pay because imagine, I’m retired. I’m paying my fee every month, and I’m on a fixed income for a check every month. So, for the $878 that I get a month, I had it pay $1000 over to Infiniti to get my car out. So, look at the difference. And then, my whole savings that I have for Christmas, I had to spend $3500. They're still working on the car. I said, “Well, go ahead and work on the car.” And I had to borrow money from my son, so when they finished with the car, I can pay it, or they're gonna start charging me for the storage. I’m very dissatisfied with CarShield. If CarShield, without even seeing the car, approve the car to be under their warranty, you would know there was nothing wrong with my car until the accident happened. Overall, it has been the worst experience of my life. I don't have CarShield anymore.

I had a repair done that was under the "covered" section of my policy but because of a technicality in the company policy I was denied coverage. That technicality involving a lying car dealership on what needed repairing which put me in a situation to find an honest mechanic to do the repair and I did not get a chance to notify CarShield before the work was done. It would be nice if customer satisfaction really meant something and a company (CarShield) could think outside the box on a case by case basis. I have two more cars that are eligible for CarShield coverage but at this time I will look elsewhere.

I am 2 months into my Carshield warranty when air conditioning in my truck went south. Took it to the local dealer and they said compressor is bad and repair cost will be $2400 with a $100 deductible. Carshield covered it. Just a day after I got the truck ac went out again! Dealership says evaporator and cost will be another $2300. Carshield covered it again!

The staff at Car Shield were friendly and very responsive. They called me periodically to give me status updates on my claim. They covered my repairs and kept the dealership honest. Most importantly, Car Shield saved me money -- lots of money!! I am definitely glad I got the insurance. If your car is over 5 years old, seriously consider getting Car Shield. It's insurance/protection you will definitely want to have. It's a small price to pay and you will be glad you have it when your car breaks down (and it will -- when you least expect it too!). Had a leaking water pump, after paying into the policy for 5 months took car in for repair. Lo and behold they DON'T COVER SEALS, I'M OUT 150 DOLLARS PER MONTH, for a total of $750 dollars. I immediately called the bank telling them what was going on and they gave me ALL OF MY MONEY BACK! Terrible company, con artists, bait and switch, deceptive wording. You never get full disclosure. I bought 2 plans from CarShield auto warranty. Almost a year later I had mechanical trouble and Carshield denied both of my claims. I paid every month thinking I had nothing to worry about but I was wrong and regret paying for the warranties. I could've saved all my money and when I had my breakdowns I would've had enough money to pay for my repairs. I would not recommend this company. They will find a way to deny you and will call you repeatedly to come back when you cancel them, which of course I did after feeling robbed by them.

I called to cancel my policy with the 30 day cancellation for a refund. The following month they withdrew the money again. I once again called and was told I never called to cancel the monthly policy and was not given a refund. The next month they withdrew it again. So I called and they said I hadn't called the previous two times. They wouldn't offer me a refund once again. I'm a disabled veteran in a month to month budget. I cant believe this company does that to people. Stay away.

I have a 2007 Mini Cooper Automatic and decided to put CarShield platinum @ $120/Month. One year after my car started to slip within 3rd gear then it comes up in safety mode. I take it to my mechanic and he show me the clutch worn out and he told CarShield the problem, and they told me I take the car to a transmission shop and not my mechanic, SOUND-FISHY!!! I took it to a transmission shop. The shop tells CarShield the same problem. CarShield send out some ** shoe maker to look at it and report back some ** code the transmission reported. CarShield said the code do not cover under their warranty. When I contacted several mini dealership about the code CarShield claim to have receive from the Mini "{DO NOT EXIST}" in any Mini coding system. Again people beware, CarShield will sell you snake-oil for engine oil.

I called to inquire about getting a warranty after my extended warranty is up. Consumer Affairs recommended them. Thought they would be good. WRONG!!!! After speaking to a rep, you pay $25 a month. If you need repairs, they only negotiate and get you 10-30 percent off your bill. If I have a major repair, that is nothing! I can negotiate myself. What a waster of my time!!! Thought Consumer Affairs promoted better companies than this..

I called and found out that the shocks, struts and catalytic converter are not covered. However alternator, starter, water pump, and air conditioning are covered; along with the drive train, engine, and transmission. Also, the claims dept gave me a phone number to call to see if I can get discounted parts. They have been great helping me out through the whole process.

Initial call to CarShield was not as pleasant as the subsequent calls to initiate a coverage policy. Agent attempted to pressure me into a initiating coverage contract. I declined. The subsequent calls to the sales department were more pleasurable. As a result I had a coverage policy initiated and was pleased with the customer service I received.

Since starting CarShield policy, I have had to pay thousands of dollars for several major auto repairs, most of which was NOT covered by you. Now car has been totaled in an accident, and I am left with no car - and this policy that I still owe payments on. I purchased a CarShield PowerTrain Gold warranty for my son's Jeep Commander in April. In July, the Commander had a front drive axle fail. This is specifically stated in the coverage. However CarShield denied coverage because they say a gasket was the root cause which caused the parts to fail. Conveniently there is a statement in the "not covered" section stating gaskets are not covered. Even though the gasket itself looks fine and the mechanic took pictures to confirm, CarShield pointed to the gasket and denied a powertrain failure which is exactly what we have covered with their warranty. I feel this is a sham and I was duped. Buyer beware.

I accidentally signed up on a website for what appeared to be a Volkswagen extended warranty site to check on VW warranty plans for a car I was considering. CarShield immediately called, texted and sent mail. I asked them to stop. It seems my contact information was shared with others as I now receive harassing calls and letters stating the warranty on my 2017 VW has expired and that I need to take immediate action. I have asked to be removed from call list, I tell them I don't own a 2017 VW, and they hang up one me. If you're lonely, sign up on their site... You’ll have plenty of calls, texts and letters coming your way.

CarShield mislead me to get me to become a customer. I disclosed everything about my vehicle. It's an 02 Cadillac, which I explained that it may have slipped in the past and that my odometer is digital and goes out from time to time. When my truck wouldn't back up and placed claim to get transmission replaced, they refused because they couldn't get an odometer reading, which I disclosed to the initial rep at the time of starting policy. In which at the time, the rep told me that the odometer not working properly won't be an issue if claim is made, which was a lie.
Now CarShield refuses to refund me my money. I would have never made payments every month if I was told from the beginning that my odometer not working properly would be an issues. Real scam artists. And the warranty company you actually have to deal with, is an outsourced third party company that has nothing to do with CarShield. All CarShield wants is your money. This company is a fraud and should be shut down asap. Worst company and worst experience ever. I knew it was too good to be true.

My experience tonight with customer service was excellent. The customer care person was very helpful and knowledgeable. She made me at ease and was quick to respond to my needs. I had forgotten about my payment and was a day late on making my payment. I thought I'd be cancelled but when I called customer service she took my payment with no interruption in my service contract. I was very pleased. Car Shield is an excellent warranty. I drive a BMW and it's so nice to have peace of mind.

Purchased a Powertrain Plus (Gold) Plan with Carshield that is backed by American Auto-Shield. AC Compressor failed, covered part under AIR CONDITIONING coverage but it excludes the belt - no problem. Offered to provide an aftermarket compressor in an unknown period of time, their cost $299 on the compressor. Then they offered to pay < $90 for 3.1 hours of service. The cost of the OEM part, which is what is in the car now is $799 by itself and at current shop rate your looking at over $300 in labor alone so clearly over $1,100 + tax for work - they offered < $390 "total". Don't be fooled by this company, they are crooks, dishonest and pull this kind of crap when you attempt to use the warranty … I've already paid almost double that amount in premiums already for warranty! Stay Clear of CarShield - they are NOT doing you any favors!

They owe me 129.00. I sent letter a week after purchase to address listed on contract in order to void contract and receive refund and have not received anything yet. Also contacted American Express and future block this company from any more charges. After reading your contract your warranty is worthless as too many red tape as your attorney did a great job of writing exclusion to the customer. Brake work not covered with my contract. This is the 2nd issue I've had that cost me a great deal and it was not covered. My comfort level has been downgraded somewhat. I like what is covered but there are parts I thought should have been covered that are not.

I’ve contacted 3x’s to find out whom they use for repairs that’s need on my husband truck, and the claims part is close. Then their phones are not working, so they close early. This is the first time I’m using them. Most Repair shops we’ve called don’t use them because of their experience???? I’m only making phone calls. Didn’t get the truck fix yet. I’m frustrated already. Now we have to wait until Monday to get his truck fix and lay out money????

I call to get a quote and was asked for my make, model and mileage. They said they didn't cover my vehicle. I told them that my vehicle had always been maintained superbly but that didn't matter to them. I believe this was just a case of age discrimination for vehicles. In 20 years, I have driven approximately 12,825 miles per year and the vehicle has never been in a salty environment and has always been kept in a garage. It looks and runs like new and I will continue owning it for many years to come. What's up CarShield?

Transmission is going out in my vehicle, that was starting to shift hard in all three gears. I took it to AAMCO dealer and after pulling the pan off the bottom of the transmission, seeing transmission fluid and paper that was peeling off of the pressure plates, the transmission was in a state of wearing out parts. They replaced the transmission fluid, a filter and a solenoid and buttoned it back up and started to fill up the transmission with fluid until the vehicle stopped. They tried to get it to start and could not and it took a long time to figure it out. In the meantime, they worked on my vehicle until I came back from the east coast and they got it started but it was worst than I brought it in the first time to get it fixed.
It ran but needed help which they could not produce because they did not have the equipment to time and tune a vehicle with a distributor and points. I then drove the vehicle over to Firestone and they too, did not have the equipment to fix the problem either. So, I got out my CarShield and conveyed my message to them and with great results they solved my problem immediately and it is now in the hands of the Chevrolet dealer and they are conferring with CarShield as we speak.

Customer service was awesome but the coverage available on silver plan was crappy. It hardly covered anything. Also for the price it was not good for what was covered. I had an older car 2004 Toyota. They need to work on that. Plus the hotel they would pay for was bad. It was only available at roach motels and unsafe hotels. Plus I had to pay for it first and then get paid back which I didn't like.

Their customer service plain stinks. They sell me a policy, and never want to deal with you. They sold it to me, not their subcontractor. They are ultimately responsible for my satisfaction. I called in to have my account put on hold due to unexpected Financial emergencies that for seeded me not being able to continue my auto warranty and I called and they helped me to the point of not having to put my account on hold and fearing that I might have some kind of car repair later on it while my account on hold. CarShield contracts you to a car warranty company, good or bad and that's the extent of their involvement. If you have a problem getting service with the warranty, "and you will", they do absolutely nothing to help. In my case, the warranty company was United Car Care Inc. They supported their decision to deny my coverage and cancel my contract of one year, stating I gave them incorrect mileage when registered so therefore I was never covered. Yet I paid monthly for a year and a service I was never covered for. I requested a full refund. CarShield did nothing to try and resolve this denial. In fact they seem eager to dissolve my contract and hand me a prorated refund. I contacted the CEO of United and was granted a full refund of all the money they received from me. CarShield claims to be there for you, when your car needs repair is fraudulent. Join them at your own risk.

It's great to get a warranty before car start having. I look into this 'cause I seen the commercial so many times. I told myself to look into this so I wouldn't regret it later and if something was to happen I don't want to have to come out of pocket with a whole lot of money. CarShield cancelled me because we had a conflict in the contract. When I signed up for it, it was fine. Then the car had a problem so I took it back to Chevrolet to get it fixed. CarShield paid for the first time they got it fixed, but there was a problem. When I took it back to Chevrolet, they discovered that there was another problem so they sent the guy out to look at the car. But they didn’t approve the work because I do Uber with this car.
I tried to talk to them about it and I explained to them that their contract needs to specify Uber drivers. They’re doing it in yesterday’s world. In today’s world, we have Uber, Lyft, and different things going on that people use their cars for. When they had asked me the question was I gonna use it for commercial, I paused because I didn’t know if they considered Uber commercial. It’s my personal car, and I’m choosing to do what I do with the car. That doesn’t really fall under commercial and that’s how I explained it to their guy.
The contract should specifically state out Uber, Lyft, or any kind of food delivery services. Then when a person will say, “Yes, I do Uber,” then it could be for a different price. They kinda messed me up because if I knew that was the case, I could’ve gone with another company, and I still will be with that company. Now, I got more miles on the car so it’s gonna cost me more for the extended warranty on the car. But I don’t think there’s a problem with CarShield itself. The guy did come out and I didn’t see anything wrong with the company at all. I just think that the wording in their contract needs to be improved.

I'm a recent customer; my subscription starting in Jan. 2019. I recently made my first claim. I made a procedural error and it's unclear whether the repair work is covered. It's a special case. I'm happy, however, because there is a special consideration process through the review board. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to continue my subscription. Like most people, I could use my monthly subscription to help pay down debt. Regardless of the outcome of my claim, I like the idea that special cases can be given special consideration.

I had a nicer vehicle that didn't have a warranty and if something happened, it wasn't gonna be a cheap fix. The warranty is more of a little extra protection and for peace of mind. Setting everything up was an easy process. It was all cut and dry and the rep was great to deal with. The experience was great and everything was as advertised. You pay your monthly payment and if you have an issue, just take the vehicle to a certified mechanic. Then they come out to verify if what the mechanic is saying is true. I'd definitely recommend CarShield.
I had an issue in the top end and the bottom end of the motor which made it incapable of being rebuilt. It had to be replaced. Getting the claim filed was easy. We took it to the mechanic and he did his thing. CarShield sent out their representative to double-check and look at it. It took a couple of days, but it went really smoothly. I had to pay my deductible and I got a brand-new motor.

I found your representative to be very knowledgeable and informative. I was hesitant to buy something over the phone, but everything was explained in considerable detail to include the option to cancel. Like all insurance and warranties they are great to have if you need them for repairs. I opened a document with "Personal and Confidential", and "Important" marked above the address window on the envelope. There nothing else on the envelope to identify what this was or who it was from. So I opened it... Inside was a marketing letter addressed to me with solicitation of coverage for a car I'd just bought. WHERE IS THE HONOR IN THIS? Is the product not strong enough that they have to revert to these practices to trick people into opening mail? It worked on me only to get me to open it so I am the fool, but not foolish enough to buy so I ask them how effective this letter was, really. If the goal was to trick me into opening this "important, personal and confidential" letter then it worked.
I don't know about you but there is too much "personal and confidential" information available out there on us all. I take great offense to being tricked into opening a letter from a company who stoops to deceptive marketing tactics to get their mail read. When I called the number and asked for the man whose name was signed on the letter, of course, he was not available. Trickery. CarShield, you have sunk to new lows and have ultimately sold yourself out. This is like throwing a baseball through somebody's window and not having the balls to sign your name on it. Shame on you.

Called to see if I was covered and sure was. They made it very easy to get my car fixed where I wanted it to be fixed, by doing all the work just needed to bring my car in. The payments are the best and are very affordable. Thank you CarShield for everything!

Just got my policy. Now I need to look it over please. I am interested in exactly what it covers and what to do if a breakdown occurs. I am very pleased with Marcos **. The auto warranty that I previously had only went to 70,000 miles and Carshield went to 125,000 so that was the main thing why I went with Carshield. I got the same coverage but with more mileage for less price. However, it's not pretty good with Carshield. I called in and asked them if they covered a certain part on the emission. They told me that they didn't and I had to fix my own car. This very same thing happened with the first Cadillac I had and it was totally covered. This is almost like everything is the same, but CarShield wouldn't cover it.
For the difference that I'm paying, I just wanna go back to my Cadillac-provided warranty which I never had any problems with. It's not a big deal, but it took me about two, three hours to get to Carshield and I was hearing all that business. I explained to the guy that sold the policy to me that I was 75 and I didn't need to do any of that stuff anymore, and I wanted everything covered. Other than the exception of the tires or rims, I was under the impression that everything else was covered.

It was ok, but they can't help me with the problem that I'm having. Apparently I can't get into the app. No one has answers for me. No one is calling my phone to tell me any information, - and I have all my information on the app and you guys have all my information so my question is why is no one helping me with my problem???.

My car was stuck in park so managed to get to the shop for repairs but when I contacted CarShield they refused to pay for repairs related to transmission. I called to find out why and was told that the repair was not covered because it was not a transmission gear problem. But the advertisement and contract information states transmission repairs are covered, also help for members when stranded or car won't start. Well that was my case so I think this is a very big scam. I don't recommend this Business to anyone. Check the fine print.
