Received a phone call telling me that my coverage finally started as I changed things back on July 8th, traded in my Jeep for a Ford Escape and was waiting for you to take the money out of my bank account and you never did, so this was the last time I was going to contact you, I was going to put a stop payment and go to your competitor for coverage. A friend has CarShield and it has been great for him. He recommended it and I ended up getting enrolled with CarShield as well and it has been amazing. Setting up everything was a good experience. The customer service was great. I did a quote online, then everything happened over the phone. When I filed a claim for a fuel problem, they took care of business. I took my car to the dealership and told them what was wrong with my car. I also let them know that I was insured on a CarShield extended warranty and gave them a contact number from CarShield. CarShield paid for everything. I gave a deductible of 100 bucks and it was all peaches and cream. It's a great feeling if you can be anywhere in the world and have someone that you can rely on if your car goes out. I've recommended CarShield to 10 of my friends, and all of them are with CarShield to this date.

Every time I called in for verifying whether or not I was covered through this policy I felt as though I was always at a disadvantage. How do you rate something like that and be fair? Make she wonder though! Doesn’t it?

After I purchased the warranty I had an issue 2 months into the warranty. My 2011 Lincoln with just 50000 miles had seat belt light problems. They claimed the harness wore into and didn't break. They didn't pay anything on the bill. The claim was denied. In the warranty description it said in big black letters, the seat motor and harness was covered. They made all kinds of excuses not to pay. I believe they are complete scammers and frauds. I would never recommend this Co. To anyone. In the past I have been with 2 other Co's and they were the same. One was on my motor home at $5000. And the same thing was the case. The turbocharger failed and of course they claimed it wasn't covered at $4800. I don't think any of this type of Co. is honest. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

After many months of diligently paying this company, when my car broke down, they "naturally" denied the legit claim that was 100% covered by the contract. The shop owner where I had my car testified he's been working with this company for long time and they will do everything in their power to deny any and all claims. I called 6 times, and 6 times while waiting for a supervisor someone hung up on me. Sent an email asking to reach back (I'm still waiting for a reply). Time lost, money lost! Don't fall for it!

It took a month and a half for my repairs to be approved and I paid over a thousand dollars in rental expense. There has to be a better way for quicker repair approvals and rental reimbursement, in addition to full rental expenses coverage.

I researched the warranty companies before I decided on who to go with. CarShield had a lifetime warranty like a lot of them and had a good rating with Consumer Reports. Even people who had other plans said that CarShield was great. I got many calls saying, “We could do better in price and we could do better in this and that,” and I would tell them that I already have a warranty. I'm gonna try to renew it again, but depending on the price because CarShield is a little higher than some of the other people that I've researched.
I do a lot by ConsumerAffairs on what they’re rating, which was how I made my choice to go with CarShield. They're not the only people I use, but they are the most popular that most people will send reviews to compared to other places that do the same thing. They seem to have the majority of the people. So, if one company only has 600 and ConsumerAffairs has 3,000 and with the 3,000 if CarShield got an 80 and the other people have 500 and they only get 90, I can't go with that because the ratio is not as good.
When purchasing my warranty for a Q5 2011, the first rep that I had was incredible. She was amazing and very personable, the whole nine yards. She just bought a car herself and got CarShield for it. When I went to transfer the warranty over to another Q5, 2012 because some drunk driver totaled my car out, I dealt with two men and I wasn’t happy. When I bought this car, it was practically new and it hadn't been even out of the 50,000-mile for Audi itself. It only had 35,000. I originally had 100,000 and I already paid nine months into CarShield. The service was great and I had no problems when I took my car to be serviced.
The car was fixed, somebody was sent out and they looked at whatever needed to be done. That part was all smooth but the part that wasn’t smooth was that they’re gonna increase me six or eight more payments and the warranty will only be 75,000 miles versus 100,000. So, I asked the guy why I would only get 75,000 miles and why I had to pay an additional six or eight months. He told me that they had to pay $300 for something that I had fixed on the Q11, and they had another service for whatever. This car had two big issues and I'm sure the bill was well over $3,000 but all those things was factored into what I was gonna pay. And so, if I use my policy that I paid CarShield for, it's gonna cost me money if I wanna renew it or get a new one. So, that really didn't go over very well with me. I’m still about 20,000 miles away from 75,000 miles but I don't know if I'm gonna go that way again.

CarShield needs to be more transparent when selling car coverages to potential customers. It is not right to mislead customers into this is buying coverage that is not needed. Thank you very much for your time but CarShield needs to change how they handle customers.

You need to try and get a contract with an Auto Repair Company, most do not accept or guarantee the part or work, some will not negotiate labor. If you could provide a auto garage and cover most repairs and on older models cars you could charge more per month people would pay, just think about it.

Error by my monthly payment. Someone who shouldn't be working with you, maybe he was scratching his head and it didn't work, but he's good to make a problem without seeing that are TWO different (model) Mercedes-Benz and they have TWO different days for a monthly payment. The result is that I got a letter that I didn't pay.

I called to find out about my services of my contract. The lady was short and somewhat rude to what I was asking for. But said she would send me a booklet and card so I could put it in my car for repairs instead of having to use the app on my phone which Chase had failed to mention to me in the first place.

See attached description and much needed service for millions of Calif vehicle owners and coverage for their out of repair coverage. California needs to allow CarShield to operate and offer vehicle repair options to all Calif vehicle owners. If the politicians can create a bill about haircut or hairstyle then there is no reason or excuse for common sense to take hold in determining that CarShield should have an open invitation to offer. It's vehicle repair options at a very reasonable and accessible price to any vehicle owner wishing you obtain extended vehicle repair coverage.

I had a policy in effect for my car, and just bought a new car so I needed to cancel coverage on the old one and find out what I needed to do with my remaining service contract. I was given credit for the remainder of my policy, received several discounts and a lower monthly payment.

I received mail from CarShield about extending my warranty. I called CarShield for a quote. They wanted $129 per month for my 2007 Honda. I thought it was too much. Did the math, it is $1548 per year. If I save my money instead I can easily pay for my own repairs. Then, I did A LOT of research. CarShield would NOT answer my questions about who they have done business with (which dealers?), because when you need repairs it’s no longer CarShield, then it’s American Auto Shield.
I kept researching and learned that CarShield is banned in California, they are REVILED on BBB and they do everything they can to NOT PAY for a repair. They pick the most minor reason to not pay. Read the reviews on BBB. Some reviews on ConsumerAffairs are obviously fake. I think most of the five star reviews for CarShield are FAKE. This company is a scam! Do yourself a BIG favor don’t walk... run away from this company. A pure scam all the way. Don’t trust the reviews on this site!

When I asked to cancel my service, Jeanie gave me every reason that I need the service, Not reading from a script, but quoting the finer points of the coverage in several areas of the contract. She really impressed me with her enthusiasm and knowledge of the product. She also made me feel important and that she really cared about me and made me realize the value that I was getting. You just don't get that these days. While she did make it easier for me to keep the product, it was her whole attitude that put my mind to rest and made me want to continue to do business with your company.

The customer service agent was helpful & professional. We needed a mileage correction immediately. The correction was promptly made. We were extremely grateful because it may make a difference in policies for us. The customer service agent was efficient in informing us of that possibility. That was something we were not aware of. It's very comforting to know there is an honest company out there. Lower mileage means, by almost 20,000 miles, that there could be a potential savings for us. Greatly appreciated.

If I could do it all over again, I absolutely would not! The service starts out friendly until it's time to use your warranty, then comes the no (and multiple excuses). Admittedly, I was skeptical from the beginning and unfortunately my suspicion was correct. Not to mention, when I went to cancel my contract I was charged a $50 fee. I am displeased to say the least. Please do your research before becoming the next victim.

The primary reason for cancellation of coverage was to trade covered vehicle in on purchase of new vehicle. The process of cancellation was painless and very friendly. Although I had CarShield coverage for only three months, I still felt it was better to have it than not. Perhaps it might have also prompted me to weigh in on the decision to purchase a new vehicle instead. For me, getting rid of a faithful ride was a little more difficult than supposed.

CarShield is a scam and a bunch of unethical liars. Several employees told me I had coverage on my vehicle repair and that I was past my 20 day waiting period and was ok to move forward. In good faith, I made financial decisions due to the information their representatives gave me. Later, they denied my repair claim after the work started and after several days of vehicle rental charges had built up. That time cannot be rescinded nor can the work and expense be undone. CarShield took my money in exchange for coverage on a 5 year old used vehicle. When it came time for them to come through with the repairs they made excuses. They said the claim was denied because the bad part they previously said was covered, was a "preexisting condition". Even though, I started witnessing the problem when I made the claim.
Let me break this down for you. When you decide to cover a 'used' vehicle everything is "preexisting". That's the difference between "used" and "new". Why would I need coverage for a car that can never malfunction? This is the point of your existence. ZERO coverage and Zero claim payments were paid out leaving me with a very large bill. I will never recommend your company to anyone. CarShield is bait and switch/fraud/malpractice/unethical people. I only wish I had read all the reviews on BBB. This website is paid by CarShield and they hide all of the negative reviews. I had to search for the non-fake reviews and boy are there a lot of people who got screwed by CarShield. I just hope they don't censor this review. Run away from this company. All these people are telling you. Believe them.

I called to get a quote for my truck. Spoke to a sales representative and he told me I need the gold plan. He didn't offer me any other plan are tell me about them. He started out with a plan for $129.00 but it then went down to $99.00. He really didn't care about any information on my vehicle. Just my debit cards and how I was gonna pay. So I just told him, "No thank you," that money is all that you care about.

I took my car in for repairs. CarShield then claimed that the mechanic "had not contacted them" despite proof he had contacted them and I had contacted them. Then when I called to cancel, they delayed until my next months payment was withdrawn. Then I was told that they don't do refunds. They were extremely rude and disparaging towards my mechanic telling me "he lied and overcharged" (He did not lie or overcharge!).

I bought a warranty through CarShield because of how their commercial alleged that company to be. My plan has been fully paid in. My car experience some AC trouble so I took it to the Nissan dealership and informed them that I had CarShield. Once they called their claims dept a employee by the name of Tom told Nissan that the air compressor wouldn't be covered because the warranty doesn't cover leaks. When I got on the phone with the claims dept and spoke to a man by the name Mario he informed me that the air compressor would only be covered if there was not a leak that would've cause the air compressor to malfunction. He stated the only way the air compressor would be cover would be if the air compressor stop functioning on its own and that there were no issues causing this.
Correct me if I'm wrong. But if something breaks down in a car it's always because of an issue!!! Nissan stated they have never heard that a warranty wouldn't cover my air compressor and that they have dealt with many other warranties. So now I'm stuck with a warranty that's useless and $1200 less in my pocket for an air compressor. I would never give my money away to CarShield and neither should you. I paid $3500 for a service that was never provided and customer service is rude and arrogant because they don't meet with people up front so they feel they can speak to you however they want. But your warranty through your car dealership instead. It's the same price.

Customer service rep was friendly and very fair in accommodating the dealership as well as me regarding cost of labor and parts. He was willing to go back and forth in hearing recommendations from dealership to what my policy covered. He worked hard and ultimately recommended a solution that all of us could agree on.

I was confident enough to add a second vehicle to my account. Unfortunately the dealer I purchased my original warranty from wasn't exactly diligent in finding me the best plan available. A recent routine repair was declined, by the previous company, costing me $635.00 Not exactly how I envisioned a warranty working.

I got this CarShield coverage and yes they did good on the first repair but they did not do the repair so I've been with them for 2 years. Sorry to say they are a fraud. They tell you what your contract covers and then they have this if your part is not listed then guess what. You have to pay for the repair out of your pocket. So here is what they have done to me. My car is still at the dealership and they haven't from BMW to the administration who are the one who approve or disapprove so what the hell. Would you want a policy like this and you pay month to month. They are not going to be stealing money because I had to put on my boxing gloves.
I would tell all don't bother with them. They are full of it. The bottom line I had to fight for all the money I paid. They are a JOKE. NO GOOD. I telling you of my experience. Return my money to me then you have to wait thru their process, well they get you as soon as you call but they don't tell you all you need. I have no favorable review. They are USELESS. My payments started off at 200.00 a month then they gave me a discount to only hide the ugly truth. You might get one repair in but after that you might get tossed into the river with no life jacket so you can not to go with this CARSHIELD.

Called to see if my rear window sunshade was covered under my policy. It is stuck in the up position and will not go down. It seems the motor is not working, you would think since it has a motor like the power windows and doors it would be covered.

I purchased this warranty and the first claim was denied. This company is a scam. Look them up on BBB, they have a “f” rating and are not accredited through BBB. Do not waste your money with this company. Buyers beware. This company is a scam... They do not stand behind what they claim.

I did a little bit of research and CarShield has gotten two notches above everybody with the review and comments from other customers. Filing a claim wasn't super easy because I have to call CarShield and I also have to coordinate with the service manager from Acura, but it was not hard either. I spoke to a CarShield representative three to four times, and I had a good experience in terms of coordinating with potential repair. She coordinated straight to the service representative and everything went well. The conversation was very short and very concise. She was pretty much knowledgeable with what was going on. She knew what she was saying and doing. She pretty much asked questions that were necessary to make this claim the quickest.
There was a little delay because of the parts. But other than that, it went well. It took less than a couple of weeks, and I got my car fixed. It made my car more safe and reliable and you can't beat that rather than buying a brand-new car. I am very much satisfied with CarShield. I'm looking forward to drive and utilize our car for a longer time while I'm with CarShield and get the benefit of it for the longest time.

I purchased a used vehicle from a dealership and immediately purchase a warranty from CarShield. I ask very specific questions to the representative as to what would not be covered. With that said I bought it and have made my payments. I recently had some issues with my rear end making some noise so I took the dealership service department and was advised there was several issues wrong with my vehicle.
After going back and forth for over 2 weeks CarShield refused to pay for any of the repairs that were more than 16,000 in repairs and they would not cover one item on the list. I am a widow and my income is fixed. The cost I paid to this company was to bring comfort in knowing that I was covered when in fact nothing was covered. Very disappointed that companies can advertise one thing and do when called. I didn’t expect them to fix everything but to deny every single item shows that they are not very honest and reliable for warranty coverage.

I heard the advertisement for CarShield on the radio and we didn’t have any issues when I purchased the warranty. I had a camshaft that went out on my car and I put the claim in. I went to the dealership and then, they ended up calling the number that’s on there. The rep worked with the mechanic to get things processed. The quality of CarShield’s service was good but the cost was expensive. I would've spent the money either giving it to CarShield or giving it to the dealership when my camshaft went out. The money was about the same.

I contacted CarShield protection for our 62K mile C6 Corvette we've owned for 5 years which is in excellent condition and was purchased from a friend. I received the same "well-prepared professional sales pitch" other reviewers have reported. The first cost quoted was $135/mo. and after I stated that was too pricey the cost quote was incrementally reduced to finally $100/mo.
Prior to authorizing coverage I requested the contract to be emailed to me so I could read it, and instead they emailed me several paragraphs describing how good the CarShield protection....no contract was provided. The representative also said that I could purchase the coverage by giving them my credit card information, and if I decided that I wanted to drop it I could get a full refund within the 30 day free trial period. For me, that was a red flag. Cancelling a service can take many conversations with representatives, on extended hold, etc.
Their 5-star customer reviews only describe how nice the sales representative was and how they now feel happy that now have extended repair coverage. (Wait until they file a claim and discover that they have paid a lot of money, and their claim will be denied). To obtain creditable feedback please first read the 1-star ratings before you decide whether commit monthly payments for something you most likely never benefit from.

This company is a RIP off. They will not pay for any work that your car needs. They will find any excuse under the sun to deny your claim. I have had several friends and family members with the same outcome. Please do not waste your money hard earned money and your health in dealing with these vultures. Have not used CarShield as of yet, but I am sure that the coverage will benefit me when I do need to use them. The coverage that was given to me was satisfactory to me in case anything went wrong with my vehicle. But as of this date I have not had to use CarShield.

First, you have to wait a month before coverage starts. Which is OK. I just had my car repaired for about 1,200 dollars. I had problems with my A/C system which is in the warranty but CarShield refused to pay anything. I had problems with my coolant system which is under warranty and CarShield refused to pay anything. So what good is CarShield? Completely Worthless.

They promised me the highest level of coverage but they downgraded me without even telling me. When it came time for a repair they did not cover all the parts. And even the stuff that they did cover it didn't cover fully. Don't believe them when they say you can use your own mechanic. Not all mechanics actually covers even if they are certified like they say that they will cover.

Different auto warranty providers were not true to their word so I got CarShield, and I’ve been happy with it. They cover more of the vehicle than Nissan's. The first person I spoke with was Steve. He explained the policy, what the warranty covered, the cost, etc. to me. It was the first time I had to use it for the car and I was so pleased. When I reinstated my service with them ‘cause my contract had run out, they gave me a date of when my contract would be in effect. I mulled it over then I thought I wanted a different date. I called them back and told them I wanted another date, and it was fine. I picked my own date for my payment.
When I had the engine and suspension fixed, I took it to the dealer. They told me what I needed and I told them I have an extended warranty on the car. I gave them my contract, they called CarShield, and that was it. The only thing out of my pocket was $100. It was a Friday and I got a loaner car. Sometime that next week, early in the week, I got my car back. I’ve recommend CarShield to everybody that I know because of the rapport and service that I received from them. The quality of their service is excellent.

I regret not having Carshield coverage before my truck had to be repaired! Why? Because it was very expensive and I didn't have another car and renting a car was expensive too. So I had to ride a bike, walk or get a ride from a co-worker back and forth to work which was tough and draining even though I got lots of exercise.

I been with CarShield for almost 4 years. Never a problem. Vehicle has top sevice repairs paid on time and rental and towing. Very good service. The best in the world. My plan cost me almost $3,000 for five years or 100 thousand mile whichever come first. Carshield has spent at least $8,000 or more in repairs. What a blessing. Thank God for this plan.

After checking about nine different extended warranty companies, CarShield offered the best coverage. Their reps were very thorough and very patient with explaining to me the coverage amount and everything that was covered. They were very patient, and I know I asked a lot questions. I had repairs done on my car, and the mechanic worked with CarShield. They were able to handle everything themselves.
I really like CarShield’s service. It’s really easy. They handle everything, so it’s like a one-stop shop. They answer all my questions. They get all my work done on my car without me having to be hassled and had to keep calling back and forth. CarShield should continue the good work. I’m glad I selected them. They've made me feel really secure.

I would run as far and as fast away from this deceitful company as possible. After reading my review you may agree with the companies overall determination on my claim, but that does not negate the fact that the customer service is horrible. They did to me the exact same things that they have done to other customers who have filed complaints, only to have CarShield deny these actions. They have also unnecessarily cost me a large sum of money that I shouldn’t have had to pay when it came to fixing my truck.
In October 2018 I purchased a 2016 Chevy Silverado Black Widow Edition truck from Mike Freeman Chevrolet in Fayette, Al. From what I have been told by the dealership the original owner bought the truck new from them and had it special ordered because of the color. He later traded it back in on a newer one. During my dispute with CarShield there was some misunderstanding on my part that I now have clarity on, but will discuss later on during this review.
Due to the amount of miles on the truck I decided to purchase an extended warranty through CarShield. I had heard it advertised on a local radio station that I listen to and in which 2 of my favorite radio personalities have them as a sponsor. I called a few weeks following the purchase of the truck and was able to negotiate the rate down to $89 a month. The individual I spoke with told me it was bumper to bumper. I authorized the payment and the monthly withdrawal every month on my credit card. I got the contract and stuck it in my glove compartment. I was irresponsible and did not look over it, which falls back on me.
Fast forward to Monday April 2. I take my truck in to my local Chevy dealership (Carl Cannon in Jasper, Al). The engine is making a noise and the AC has stopped blowing cold. I provided the service rep (Logan) the warranty info and specifically told him not to do any repairs till he got the approval from CarShield. He called back later that afternoon and spoke to my husband. I needed a new compressor and I had a lifter drop in the engine. The warranty was supposed to cover it and the work should be done by Friday April 5. I was extremely impressed and was getting ready to be the biggest spokesperson for this company. The key word being “was”. Friday April 5 rolls around and we check with the dealership. My truck isn’t ready and it's not been approved by CarShield.
Fast forward to the following week. We check back in on Wednesday April 10 and is told by Logan at Carl Cannon that we need to call Car Shield. He had attempted to call numerous times, was being placed on hold for long periods of time over the course of several days, and that the contract was ultimately in my name. I called and the original lady I spoke to told me that she couldn’t see any info on her screen about it. She asked if I wanted to check back the following day or if I wanted to speak to a customer representative. I choose to speak to the customer representative named Bob and was finally told that an inspector came out on Friday April 5. He confirmed scoring on my engine and they were having to wait on his report. The case was under review with customer relations. There is a clause in the contract for vehicles that have modifications, lifts or oversized tires.
Bob discussed how he could put me in another contract that more adequately covered my truck if this claim was denied. I commented why would I want to give this company more money for them to deny another future claim. I also encouraged Bob to find a more honest company to work for in order to support his family. I called CarShield back early on the morning of Friday April 12. The claim had already been sent back twice to customer relations and a determination had still not been made. I tried to explain to the rep that I spoke to that the truck was purchased new in this condition and that it came from the manufacture this way. He attempted to conference call my service rep Logan at Carl Cannon but was unable to reach him. My claim at that point had not been denied. He also told me that if I could get a Vehicle Build Sheet that this would help my case.
Very shortly thereafter I got a phone call from Logan. He had just gotten off the phone with CarShield and they denied my claim. He also mentioned how he had received a phone call during the time that he was speaking to them, from someone else at CarShield (which I’m assuming was the conference call I was on). Why would they tell me that my claim had not been determined but at the same time tell Logan that it was denied? On 4/12 I received an email stating that my contract was cancelled due to MY REQUEST. On April 15 I received a voice message saying that the coverage was cancelled and that $89 was being refunded to my card. Someone from CarShield would later call back and I would get to speak to them directly. This was the first time during this entire process that CarShield had called me. They reiterated that they were cancelling my policy due to the “modifications, lift, and oversized tires” that was on my truck.
When they said they were refunding my $89 I asked if they were refunding the rest of my premiums that I had paid. If they’re saying that the policy doesn’t cover my vehicle to the point that they deny a claim and then cancel it, then why would they not refund the rest of my money. She told me no, and that I had lied when asked while taking out the policy if the truck was on the lift. I was never asked that. I was so furious that I admit that I hung up on her.
So here is where I am at. Does my truck have a 6 inch lift and larger tires? Yes. Was I asked this when I purchased the policy? No. Did I know what was in the policy other than it was bumper to bumper, when I gave them authorization to bill my credit card, thus unknowingly agreeing to terms and conditions in a contract that I had not yet seen? Yes. Did I read the contract thoroughly when it arrived in the mail? No. Was the truck purchased brand new by the original owner in this condition and warranted by General Motors? Yes.
I have spoken to Michael Hixon at SCA Performance in Trussville, Al in order to gain some clarity on the process. The following is how he described it to me. SCA is an approved upfitter for General Motors. They get the chassis from the manufacture and then build the conversion kit. Once completed the dealership purchases the vehicle from SCA and sells brand new to their customers. SCA is required by the manufacture to match the original warranty, which is 3 years or 36,000 miles. Again, this truck was special ordered and came off the dealership lot brand new.
CarShield, which isn’t really CarShield, it’s Auto Shield, says that the process submitting a claim is quick and easy. This is false. It took almost 2 weeks of me and Logan calling and being put on hold for long periods of time, and the only time I heard from them was when they cancelled my policy. They say you can use whatever mechanic you choose. Which is probably true, but think about this. You will need to go to a dealership that has multiple service reps who have the time to stay on hold for long periods of time. Smaller shops will not have the manpower to be able to do that. The flip side is that larger dealerships charge more per hour than other shops. So if your claims gets denied, then you’re looking at a large amount being charged.
While we are on this topic let’s talk about my engine. The quote from the dealership was $6482.89. I had thought about trying to take it somewhere else after CarShield denied the claim in an attempt to see if I could get the work done any cheaper. That was till I was told that I would still owe Carl Cannon around $1000. See CarShield required that the engine be broke down even though the dealership knew what was wrong with it and has since told me that it didn’t need to be. So regardless I was going to have to pay the $125 an hour rate x 8 hours for the engine to be broke down due to CarShield requiring it. After all the hassle I left it there and had Carl Cannon do the work.
I have since spoken to a lawyer. This companies practices are deceitful and something needs to be done about it. The kicker is that there is an arbitration agreement in the contract. So even if I wanted to take legal action against them, I would have to go to Colorado to do so which doesn’t make financial sense. So my plans are filing this complaint, sending a complaint to the radio personalities in hopes that they may drop them, sending this to my local news stations so that they may do a story and save other individuals from using this company, and telling any person that will listen to stay away from these crooks. If you don’t believe me I encourage you to look at other reviews and see the similarities with my story and theirs.

I had an appointment with an insurance representative which is about 10 minutes from my home. I was driving back and all of a sudden, right as I got into this construction zone, I heard this loud thud. I immediately pulled into a vacant parking lot and that's where my car stopped. It wouldn't go any further. I've noticed that when I put it in gear, it was rolling backwards so I knew it was a transmission. The people at the shop filed the claim for me. They called CarShield and found out exactly what was covered. While I was in there with the transmission, I happen to tell the guy about the problem I was having with my windows and door locks. He looked at my contract and saw that that too was covered.
I only paid $100 deductible. What I did not really agree with was the car rental because where I rented the car, when they first sent the transmission, they sent the transmission and then they had to send something else, which caused me to have to keep that car for a longer period of time. I feel that they should have covered the entire car rental because the holdup was because of them and not because of me. But I've always had a good experience with CarShield. They’ve answered my questions or they've connected me with the person that could answer my questions. Someone always got back to me in a timely fashion. I have referred them to several of my friends and family already.

At first I did not want to purchase the policy because I thought it was a scam. Trying to get me to get into something that I can't get out of. So I tried to cancel several times and they were very polite, even honesty about why I should keep this policy. Then I explained it to my Mom and she said just keep it. Updated 03/21/2020: Leaking pipe and pump. This is my second claim where the adjuster did not cover the amount of time for the repairs. Two hours just over $300. The last time, I had this same issue after several telephone calls and writing a letter with my work order I received a check for an additional hours. That is not good customer service.
Original Review: I’ve had one claim with CarShield and they paid half of my expenses on it which kinda disappointed me. They were very friendly and upfront but they didn’t pay all the labor and all the tax. They didn’t pay for all the parts. I was at the assumption that having CarShield, the claim would be taken care of. It was a water pump on a Jaguar and they’re outrageously expensive. The people at CarShield was saying the dealership charges a lot. Why didn't they tell me to go some place else that doesn’t charge a lot?
I paid up the warranty until the expiration of it but I won’t buy it again. I’ll go some place else. The dealership also said they always had trouble with CarShield, that they nickel-and-dime things. I won’t recommend CarShield. I’m dissatisfied. It may be great for everyone else but not for me. I wrote them a letter but they didn’t answer that either. And it took almost a year to get the contract after I had paid for it. They said they mailed it three times. I never got it in the mail and I’m able to get other mails pretty well. The contract is fairly long and I printed it out on my printer.

I received an email offering a monthly reduction for my new plan from $89.00 per month to $79.00 per month. The offering was in my spam folder and I immediately called and was given the reduction. I had to call back because I didn't get an email stating the monthly reduction would be for $79.00 and the second representative I spoke with is sending me a new contract showing the new monthly cost as $79.00. I appreciate the courtesy and cooperation as not many reps are as pleasant and efficient as the ladies I spoke with today.

I liked the way CarShield read for me and they were very friendly. I'm satisfied with the package that I got. I had somebody there if I needed them. I usually went in with the problem in mind, and they did what we needed to do. When I brought the car in, they drove me back to my house while they repaired the air conditioner.

Last year I had saw an ad for CarShield and thought that it might be a great for my aging car (2013 BMW 535). I called them up and got some basic information but they would do EVERYTHING they could to not let me off that phone. They made up stories to relate to me, gave me hypothetical horror scenarios, and kept coming back to offer discount after discount. When I tried to say that I would call back after speaking with my wife, they pushed even harder for you to commit. I ultimately did but quickly cancelled the next day and got a full refund since they left such a bad taste in my mouth from the experience.
Fast forward to now - a sales agent called me back last week and did the same spiel to get me as a customer again. This time I was very non-committal but they did the same thing (relate, worst-case scenarios, the whole bit). When they started to ARGUE with me to sign on, I hung up and blocked the number. Next day, ANOTHER agent called to try and sell me the warranty. I hung up immediately and blocked the number. TODAY, I get a LETTER in the mail making DEMANDS to respond back and sign up for their warranty, even a deadline! They are just the worst. I work in sales and they clearly have no concept of what going too far is.

He was professional and very helpful. I've also had to use CarShield for the radio and I didn't even do anything. The repair shop did it so it went good. They had my car for four hours and they fixed it. My experience with CarShield was good.

Responded to a tv ad. Had some 1990s celebrities on the commercial. Sounded pretty good. I have 2005 F 350 crew with 141,000. I purchased it last August. It's in perfect working order. Following day a rep calls and explains to me the benefits of car shield, sounds great. Guy claims bumper to bumper coverage. Anything goes wrong, they will cover it. Well the price was $145 per month. I told him maybe in a few weeks. The dude kept going on and on about how great the coverage is and my truck is old and thing will break. I should give him my card # right now to cover my truck ASAP.
He then proceeded to to explain the blackout period of 20 days, I'm like "Ok, but I still have to wait. Money is waiting to come in." Then PRICE DROP ALERT. Took 25 off, then 10 more, then 10 more. He was down to $100.00, red flags around. Any company willing to drop $45 off a monthly charge is only interested in getting the card number, so I let my fingers do some internet research. Needless to say I'm not buying Carshield, I'd rather put that c note into a saving account a month and have a fund to repair my own vehicle.

I was having some problems with my car and I was excited because I knew that I had the coverage. I was trying to get some insurance when CarShield said, "Wait a minute." They looked my records up and said I already have the insurance. I was told that in fact, I have an excellent coverage. When I first got the car in 2014, the coverage was already in my payment plan. The coverage was paid out in 2015 and at that point, I had top priority to get my car done and anything I needed to be done on my car. That was last year and I turned the car in so it was good. The CarShield coverage was excellent. Vehicle warranties are very useful.

This is my honest and accurate CARShield review. They did NOT respond to multiple repair authorization requests from my car dealers repair shop. They told me they were on hold FOR HOURS AT A TIME REPEATEDLY and that they couldn’t keep calling and being put on hold and no one comes back on the line!! My Car Dealership documented this in writing!!! My car sat there for a week until I agreed to pay to get it fixed. So tell me what did CARShield do for me???? Not a blessed thing!!!! I had to ride my motorcycle in the rain for the week because no one called my dealership back!!!! I called also and was put on hold!! They do that strategic maneuver so you get discouraged and hang up... Yet they had the Audacity to call and email because I stopped giving them $ after they pulled that crap with my dealership Svc Dept...Of Course THEN they answered the phone IN THAT DEPARTMENT IMMEDIATELY... What the??! Complete BS....
I WAS FORCED TO LEAVE at least one star to post this but THE TRUTH IS..I give them negative star review. What a sham!! I highly doubt these people giving wonderful reviews are real people and not staged!! This company takes your HARD EARNED money and do NOT deliver the goods.. breech of contract and theft of services come to mind! Avoid them and their too good to be true promises! I want my money back...I have contacted my bank and the Better Business Bureau...

Save your money. This is a big scam. You Pay them month after month and when you need them they will DENY your claim by saying it is an existing problem or something else. They tell you that you have all this coverage but in reality you DON’T‼️ I’m paying them for over a year almost $90 a month and the first time I tried to use them was this week and I was denied on three different things.

The coverage I had had expired and I didn’t know if I wanted to renew it with that provider. Then I saw that commercial by CarShield and everything I heard about them on the TV sounded real good so I wanted to purchase it. The rep went over the plans with me on the phone and I decided which one I wanted. Everything was smooth and I was very happy and satisfied with the package that I was offered. I liked the service as well.
When I took my car to the dealer for a claim, I didn’t really even talk to CarShield. The car had an oil leak and it was leaking transmission fluid. I went in to the dealership, told them what was wrong with my car and that I had CarShield, and then I left the car. After that, they called me back and told me that the inspector was coming out to check it out. Then the dealer called me back and told me the claim was approved. The whole process took about three weeks, up to the time I got my car. Everything worked out perfectly. It was great being a member of CarShield.

The price was originally the reason why I chose CarShield and compared to my previous provider, CarShield is a lot better, particularly in terms of the quality of service. It wasn’t hard to submit a claim. However, to get the work done was a nightmare. I had transmission problems and instead of having the dealer put in a transmission, these guys sent one from way back East. Now they’re telling me it should be here in a day and I’ll have my truck put back together in two days after that. But it took about 12 days just to get the transmission delivered out here.

My vehicle was getting older so I purchased a warranty in case it has any problems. It was actually my mom who told me about CarShield and the rep I spoke with was good. I was kinda leery because it was my first time doing something like that so I had all kinds of questions but he answered all my questions. Then I had a transmission issue that I filed a claim for and the people were really nice. I really didn’t have to do anything. They just knew what to do. They took my booklet, called CarShield and took care of that part.
They had a person come check the vehicle out and make sure that the issue was what it was. Then once they confirmed it, they went ahead and ordered everything. Then the vehicle went in and got fixed. It was a little bit longer than I thought but it was okay. I know it takes time and I’m not complaining. I’m just ecstatic because I do the monthly payment and I didn’t have to pay anything out of my pocket right there and then. It was already taken care of. That was really nice. I’ve referred CarShield to a couple of people too.

Purchased a contract through Carshield in October of 2018, finally had three issues that the dealership wanted $15,000 for in order to fix in May 2019. These issues were exactly why I had purchased this protection plan in the first place (replacement of A/C Compressor, rear differential replacement and water pump replacement). Instead of paying out of pocket I chose to rely upon my extended warranty through Carshield that I pay a premium to every single month. I filed a claim which took about a week to get results back only to hear that they would not honor my claim due to “pre-existing conditions”.
The A/C compressor had been something my service technician recommended I replace due to it falling apart in January of 2019 which fell after the “waiting period” that is outlined in your contract. They denied that claim with no hard evidence to back it up. The rear differential noise was something I had mentioned in prior services before the “waiting period” window, but it was never deemed a “failed” piece of equipment until the vehicle was inspected in order to file a claim. Also, the water pump was listed as a “pre-existing condition” because the first owner of my car had some coolant residue in the engine bay which led the inspector to believe that the vehicle hadn’t been properly maintained.
Don’t waste your money on this ridiculous gimmick of a service contract that Carshield and American Auto Shield are selling. They have the ability to deny any claim and spin anything as a pre-existing condition in order to cover their rear ends instead of having to take care of their customers. The person I spoke with from American Auto Shield about the water pump said that if the engine were to fail it would no longer be covered because of the coolant that had been spotted from the previous owner. What the hell do I pay this company money for? Don’t even waste your time. Absolutely inexcusable.

I liked CarShield's coverage and when I initially purchased it, I had a fantastic experience with the reps. I called them when I was gonna use the warranty and the rep told me what to do. She told me to drop the car off at the dealer and they would take care of everything. I've used the warranty twice and in both times, all I did was drop it off and give the dealer the paperwork, and I was done. The first time I used the warranty, CarShield took care of it right away. I dropped the car off, then the dealer gave me a car back with a dead battery. I turned it back in, dropped it off, the fused had blown and they fixed it. If it wasn’t for CarShield, I would be paying around $600 instead of $100. So, it worked out. CarShield gives me peace of mind. It is worth investing in.

Dick Butkus was the spokesperson for CarShield one time and I knew he was about his work. If he would put his name behind something, it must be good. I thought the best thing I could do was try so I went with CarShield. All I had to do was call them, explain to them the situation that I was going through with my car, they took it from there. Their reps made sure I understood. However, they haven't sent my paperwork out for me to know what is covered by them. Still, it doesn't bother me because anytime I call CarShield, they're right there and on time every time.
I started a claim with them in December. That time, before I left from Maryland, Fort Washington, I went to a Mazda dealer and had my car serviced so I could take the road trip. They told me my car was fine to take the trip and that everything was in order. By the time I got down to Virginia Beach though, my car had gone out and it was smoking. I had to call because I was scared to drive it since it started making this noise. So, I called State Farm and had them to tow my car towards the dealer. When I got there and I gave them my insurance information, they contacted CarShield. CarShield told them they were gonna send an inspector out. In a few days, an inspector was out there and the dealership said that they were going to do what they gotta do. CarShield was on the money to pay the people when my car was finished. I will refer them to anyone and stand behind them 100%

CarShield had pretty good reviews on the commercials from what I read online, so I had to try them out. Before going to CarShield, I called the dealership since the original warranty was through them. But their price was so much higher than CarShield. I would take my car to the dealership to get service, and they always call CarShield for me. I had to use them a couple of times, and the dealership never had an issue with them. When I've had to take my car for brakes, they covered it. They do what they said they were gonna do. I'm satisfied with CarShield. It's a good service and I've always recommended them.

I asked how much they would cover and I felt good with their answer. I felt that I was making a good decision. So far, I've only filed one claim and it went fine. CarShield was quick with it. There was no hassle. I’ve heard stories in the past how companies try to get over, but I didn’t feel that with CarShield.

Yes your represent it is completely knowledgeable and is very helpful courtesy. She did not try to rush me through anything and give me other facts that I didn't know about. Thank you. We spent about 35 minutes 40 minutes on the phone, explain different details of the contract and she surprised me. Was very knowledgeable of of a automotive workings. I'm a retired professional diesel mechanic and she really impressed me of her knowledge of the workings of vehicles. Again if I could put a feather in your hat I sure would. If I was her boss I give her a raise. Looking forward to a real service from a very professional sounding company. She also explained to me about warranty on parts who you got some of them from. I saw the ads on television for Carshield and thought it was a good idea considering I spent over $12,000.00 last year on repairs for 3 vehicles I own. I called Carshield to enquire about coverage and pricing. The Representative was rude and pushy trying every day he could to get my credit card number. After an hour with him on the phone I requested a copy of the contract to read because quite frankly it sounded too good to be true. Well they did not send the info as promised but a different representative did call me back the next day, gave the same presentation but did send me the contracts to read. Again this person was relentless in trying to get my credit card number.
After another hour wasted on the phone I informed this rep the same thing I told the 1st rep which was that I wanted to read the contract and discuss it with my wife before committing. He continued to push for the card number and I finally told him that I was getting aggravated with his persistence and to call me back tomorrow after I speak to my wife and we read the contract. After we ended the call not 10 minutes later another representative called me back to start the presentation all over again. I found this very aggravating and told the third representative that I already made the purchase.
So I read the contracts they sent and it was full of exclusions which contradicted most everything the sales representative told me over the phone. I then checked the BBB reviews and recommendations for this company and was pretty surprised how many complaints they received. I have decided not to go with Carshield based on my research and experience with them, if you're considering this company I would suggest that you do your own research and be cautious giving out your credit card number. Personally I don't trust them and will not do business with them.

I purchased a warranty plan from Carshield and had to take my truck in for repairs about 5-6 after the warranty purchase. My claim was denied because my truck has a lift. When I purchased the warranty, the rep never asked me anything about my truck except for the make and model, mileage and if I took care of it. I spoke with an adjuster and he told me that I should have never have had that warranty policy to begin with due to the lift. If that was the case, then asked to be reimbursed and I was told "Sorry that ain't happening". All this took about a month before some actually told me all this. I never received a single phone call from anyone to keep me up to date on what was going on with my claim. I have since cancelled my policy and will not recommend Carshield to anyone!

I heard Mike Ditka advertising CarShield on the radio and then I heard good things about them from one of my associates that has warranty with them. He said he had a good experience, so I gave them a try. I've used them once and that was a success. The two automatic side mirrors wouldn’t go in. They stopped working so I put a claim in and CarShield got them replaced for me. Their customer service was really good. Everything on my end went fine. But it took some time to resolve the claim because Shaub-Ellison had to contact CarShield a couple of times. It also took an extra phone call on my end to eliminate the confusion, and then my mechanic had a little bit more of a problem making contact with CarShield.

I called two weeks ago and asked to move my payment date from the 19th to 23rd. I also spoke to them about trading my 2014 Hyundai for a new car so I wanted to end that policy. They were good at discontinuing my Hyundai and credited back last months payment on my Town & Country. I haven't had to use the warranty yet, I hope they take care of me!

CarShield's rep sounded pretty good. He had to know what he was talking about for me to get their warranty and I did. I've had one claim thus far and though it was not a long process, I wish I would have known I could have gotten a rental car. During the repair, one part wasn't the correct one so they had to send out to get the right one. I was without my vehicle for about two weeks. Still, I'd recommend CarShield. I'm satisfied with my extended warranty.

I've only one time since I originally to sign up establish my extended warranty was when I called to have the monthly payment date changed. Was to change my payment date from the 1st to the 2nd of the month.. The associate I talked to was very professional, and courteous. The reps at CarShield were professional, courteous, and they answered any questions that I had when I was purchasing the extended warranty. The claims process was fairly quick, but getting to the actual place where I had to the claim was frustrating. I was bounced around by a lot of people. They told me the number that I had to call, and I called that number, but they had no idea what was my contract number. They said they had no contract with me. I started getting frustrated and they told me to a call a certain number. But the person told me that I had to call another number.
Finally, somebody was able to help me, and I got the right number. They said I had to give it to my mechanic, and that he would have to call and take care of it from there. It took about two hours from the time that I dropped my car off to the time that the claim was approved. And then my mechanic told me that I had to pay $300 because CarShield only covered $1,200. That part was a little frustrating too because I thought it was supposed to be covered in full.

I purchased auto warranty coverage on my 2010 Honda Accord. The compressor for the air conditioner went bad. I took it to the dealership and they submitted the claim to CarShield Claims department and they denied it. I spoke with CarShield re this matter and was told there was nothing they could do to help me. After several hours on the phone with them I found out that CarShield is like a broker who sells your contract to sorry companies that will not pay claims and find 100 reasons why the cause of the compressor going bad was not covered when the contract states that it's covered. CarShield finally admitted that my contract was with United Car Care.
I looked at the reviews for both companies and realize that both are scammers and have taken a lot of money from individuals like me. CarShield Ads should be banned and they should be out of business for what they are doing. Advertising as if they are the warranty company when they are merely serving as a broker to get the customer for sorry companies that are taking people money. CarShield and United Car Care should be sued and made pay back all the money they have taken from people.

Could not afford normal premium. Needed to cancel. They lowered my premium to an amount I can pay. I didn't want to lose my car because I couldn't pay the payment plus the premium. I didn't need a warranty if I couldn't keep the car.

My bank declined the payment as suspicious activity because the description read Paylink with no mention of Carshield. The rep explained that sometimes the withdrawal will say Carshield along with Paylink and for whatever reason sometimes it won't. She was kind enough to resend the payment.

CarShield has a policy of disassembling the car or the parts of the car in need of repair for view before you can decide if you're going to cover the warranty claim, this is absolute BS. In my case the timing chain needed to be replaced- the car had 120K miles on it, you can hear the tensioner clattering, the codes all pointed to the chain, walks like a duck quacks like a duck. But the inspector wanted me to agree to have the shop do a complete teardown of the motor to "see the root cause" - hay ** - it's 120 thousand miles on it. That's the cause. Still $3600 estimate to do the teardown in the hopes they will warranty it. No shop on the planet would stay in business if that was really necessary.
The fact is in most cases the price to just View the hardware in question will cost more than the repair, and as a customer - you're liable for the added cost the shop has gone through just to allow CarShield reps to "view the issue". Every shop I have ever been to can diagnose an issue and fix the issue without tearing down a freaking motor first. But not with CarShield warranty. This is hands down the best way to increase revenue for your partners and a horrible way to treat the people who keep them employed.

I paid $1200 up front for a year of Car Shield coverage. When I tried to process my first claim, it was denied so I cancelled the coverage. Although I had paid by my American Express credit card, I was told that I would have to wait 20 days for a check to be issued. When I called back 31 days later, I was told there had been a glitch and I would have to wait another 20 days for the check. When I protested that they were holding my money too long, I was then told they would issue it as soon as they could. I am not at all confident that I will receive my refund. And I don’t understand why they can’t simply credit my American Express account.

I was very happy with the customer service and with the pricing of the plan that I got. My plan covers everything that I need to cover for my truck. The rep that I spoke to was very nice and explained everything to me and answered all my questions that I had.

My debit card was renewed and the information was not updated in the system, so when the payment was processed it would not go through, which made the payment late. The young lady was understanding and very kindly updated the information and processed my payment.

Took vehicle in for 100,000 tune up. Advised had shudder in rear in and noise from what sounded like the water pump area. Noise turned out to be timing phaser and shudder was clutch pads in the rear end. Had everyhing repaired. Did not think about using CarShield because my vehicle did not break down. After calling in and asking questions, Jonathan advised to send in repair copies for review.

I had the best experience with the customer service at CarShield, She explained how everything would work. I read a lot of reviews today and the only bad reviews were people having trouble getting their cars fixed. It really made me to want to reconsider this not knowing if I will have the same trouble, but customer service was the best.

While driving from Las Vegas to Van Nuys, CA. we notice coolant leaking underneath my 2013 Hyundai Hybrid once we reached our destination. I notice the water pump had a hole in it, 5 days later, I went online to issue a claims report over the weekend and Monday I spoke to a very nice American CarShield rep. She made things easy for me in getting things started with my repair request. The only delay and concerns I have is the communications with the claims adjuster and service department approval process, it's taking longer than I expected. Overall everything is good.
