Extremely helpful with the different contracts (ie: gold, platinum) and cost savings! Stephen was very patient and reviewed the contract a couple of times for us and answered all our questions! He also helped with my husband's older contract to help him save.

I ordered a jump start and it took 5 hours. This is unacceptable! It was a good thing I wasn't sitting on the side of the road or in a parking lot after dark, which it was after dark. The serviceman was very pleasant and kind, however, extremely busy over an hour away. You need to add more assistance in my area.

Had great experience with repair at Dealer. Get all service and repairs at the dealer. They were very impressed at the service and responsiveness from CarShield/Mepco. They were promised the funds within 2 hours and they received in the timeframe quoted.

Carshield is a great program for motorist. I recommend them. 5 stars customer Service who help me get the plan to cover my car was extremely nice and helpful. I definitely recommend people who drive should get this kind of insurance plan to cover the cost.

There was an issue with the part price between the mechanic and the warranty company. Don't be fooled you're going to end up having to cover the difference because this warranty company wants to be so cheap and expects the mechanic to store your vehicle and keep it on site until the warranty company can finally deliver a part when my mechanic can get it in an hour. Other than that they did cover the repair after I covered the difference.

Can't comment on anything outside of customer service as of right now since no repairs have been needed yet however everyone so far at Carshield has been very nice and understanding and most of all it seems that all of the carshield family is extremely knowledgeable with just about everything cars and trucks and now that I know carshield now also covers motorcycles I will be adding my Harley this summer 2020! Last but not least and probably most important my Ram 1500 Laramie has so much technology that I started stressing it shortly after buying it used because I'm well above average on automotives however the newer tech and computing is a whole new world and before my time when I was in automotive school. You absolutely cannot go wrong carshield. I don't know how to put it any other way.

I have had to take my SUV in to Tillary Chev. in Moriarty, N.M. due to problems with the driveline and transfer case. It wouldn't go into 4WD, both times the claim was denied as not covered. I have had to pay out about $600.00 for repairs. The service department tells me their system won't tell them there is a problem so they have to tear it apart to find the problem. In both instances the labor was more than half the cost. I realize that the $125.00 estimate I pay for and I have no problem with that. It's the addition labor costs that bother me.

We're sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, we can not control what the service department does or doesn't do and sorry to hear their system couldn't find a problem. In these cases, a tear down is necessary to find out the cause of failure. If the cause of failure is a covered part, we would pay for the tear down. I have claimed anything, so I don't know how it work, just talk with them 3 times and feel comfortable with the conversation. I will recommend CarShield to others as many as I can. I will recommend this to my friend and my neighborhood if I can see them and if I remember.

My vehicle suffered a coolant system failure. I had just purchased a Car Shield Warranty 1 month prior to the problem developing. Car Shield stood behind what they had promised and took care of the repair even though I had only made one payment on the warranty plan. That is true honesty, integrity and professionalism. My repair agent said she was on the phone for about 3 hrs as she was put on hold (I believe) to get approval for the required repair. Finally it was approved. I just read several reviews on your website that many people had similar experiences and were not happy and canceled their policy. My dealership also was not happy and I am not sure if they want to me to bring any more claims to them. NOT sure if I cancel also. Undecided as $89 monthly seems too expensive to continue.

CarShield came through first time my car developed a problem. The alternator froze up while I was driving and actually snapped the power steering belt. I was able to pull over, have the car towed to my mechanic, who was able to contact CarShield and arrange for them to reimburse for the alternator and labor. Excellent service.

Excellent!!! I thought CarShield was a gimmick!!! I never thought it would fix my car and that makes it the best insurance company in the world....I rather pay for this insurance than the liability insurance that I have to have to drive. If I ever got into a jam and can’t pay them both I would keep CarShield on my car and park it until I could afford my liability insurance...,

Thanks for the review. Our coverage is very different from your auto insurance and we recommend keeping both. Our coverage covers mechanical breakdowns while your liability insurance covers many other things like: getting into an accident, tree falling on your car, hail damage, etc...

I had some motor issues and called them, told me to take it to the shop and they and the shop took it from there. Had to pay my $100 deductible and spent a little extra for my preventive improvements. It runs like a champ. Thank you Car Shield.

My initial purpose in calling CarShield was simply to find what I would be charged per month. However, I was persuaded both by the need to protect myself and the very reasonable monthly charge ($99.99) to sign up. The CarShield contract appears to cover all the possibilities. Now, especially because I will be using my car for a long distance vacation this year, I can rest assured.

Bought warranty for motor and transmission powertrain. Big joke. Not helpful at all. Didn't cover anything I needed for motor. Customer service unhelpful at all. Did not reach out and explain anything in detail. Wouldnt recommend.

I ended up canceling my coverage on my jeep then realized I still needed it so I was able to get it reinstated after cancellation of two days. I was told that my vehicle may have been a total loss but then I was informed that it may be fixable so this is the reason for the cancellation and then the reinstatement request. Very pleasant and attentive customer rep. While I was ranting and overstating my issue, she calmly listened (without interrupting) till I was relaxed enough for my words to be understood in order for her to determine the best course of action to solve the problem at hand. Not only did she resolved the current problem, but she added the new CC# to the account (supposedly updated by the previous rep on an earlier date), and changed my due date all on a single call and to my satisfaction. My Wife and I have just recently returned to Car Shield after being misinformed by a competitor. We found that the competitor only paid a portion of the bill (30 %) and left us paying the majority. Fortunately, we were able to find a mechanic to do the work at a lower price. Lesson learned? Trust Car Shield.

I took my truck to the dealer to have a diagnostics done and the diagnostics showed that the ninth injector had a short the dealer missed a warrantee extension which Car Shield advised was still in effect saving me hundreds of dollars in repairs so I highly recommend Car Shield for not only the insurance of repairs but knowledge of information on my vehicle or your vehicle.

The car seemed to be hesitating and then the engine light went on so I brought the car to my service station. They plugged into their scan equipment and determined that the rough idle and hesitation was caused by one burned out ignition coil and need for new spark plugs. This was a labor intensive job to get at the coils but the car was repaired by noon the next day.

There was an issue with monthly payments with a credit card. The Customer Service Rep offered several options. We updated the account with auto-pay and should not miss any monthly payments. I Recommend customers take advantage of this option to alleviate timely payment concerns.

Took my 2004 Audi A6 Quattro to be repaired and they said they will not honor my claim and will cancel as my car has a branded title this they NEVER asked me about at the time I signed up. Every time I call Car Shield I get a different story about my claim. And if my contract was cancelled on 2/3/2020 as one person told me why did the take another payment from my debit card? I come to find out this is a scam company just looking to con people out of their money for a contract they never intended to honor. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I feel you need to refund ALL my money!!!!

When called to cancel one of my accounts, I did not appreciate the rep putting me off to the next day to call back and have it done. Even though he was very nice, I called to have the representative do a specific job and felt I was not important enough for him to help me.

Hyundai no help Completed 1000,000 tune up. 3 days discovered the engine had an overfill of 1 guard. 2 weeks later the engined sizzled. Hyundai took or responsible. Thanks to CAR SHIELD for sourcing an affordable engine. Hyundai took no responsibility though they overfilled the oil. The engine was working file but after Hyundai complete the 1000000mile runs up resulted in the engine to size in 4 days and they were no help in replacing the engine.

Very easy and affordable to enroll, wished it covered more like interior, electrical issues, Modifications and conversions, etc., as I have intentions to have the rear of the vehicle converted into a camper van for road tripping purposes. Also wished the car rental coverage was more extensive in cases where repairs could take a week or more.

The customer service person that I spoke to was very helpful. She help by dropping the coverage on a car that got totally locked in an accident and got me coverage on the new car I got. She was very apologetic about the accident and was super sweet and helpful with the new coverage.

Updated on 02/18/2020: I bought a policy 12/17/19 because we were finally going on a vacation over the holidays.. We got home on 01/04/20 at 2 am.. At which time the Truck was running fine. The transmission apparently went on the morning of 01/06/20, after running PERFECTLY through the weekend all the way up and still running fine, when I parked it for the night on 01/05/20 after coming home from the grocery store.. At first, Carshield claims that in my claims call, I had said a date that falls within my Grace period. I DID NOT AND THEY SHOULD HAVE IT ON TAPE.
Then, the past Friday 02/14/20, I finally got a Customer Service Rep that wasn’t rude. She put me on hold while members of the Carshield team reviewed my paperwork. Now It appears they finally agree that I said 01/06/20. But, because I do my own maintenance, and bought oil, filters and lubrications, a year ago and don’t have receipts, and that my claim is on the 21st day, They will not pay.
I've been doing my own maintenance for 25+ years and I buy a lot of filters, oils and lubrications when I first purchase a vehicle, and they’re on sale. How was I to know that I'd break down on the 21st day? How was I to know I was going to buy an auto warranty? They never claimed my, well kept log book needed receipts prior to starting a warranty. I planned on keeping all receipts going forward. But they dont believe and refuse to pay.. I'm disabled and live in the woods. I am going to lose everything because I cannot afford the repairs myself. I would never recommend carshield to anyone. Carshield, Do the right thing.. Please.

I’d like proof of your claim because I’m sure if you listened to the recorded claim on Jan 6th, you’ll see that I never said the car broke down on the 3rd. I am shocked that they claim I said that. The 3rd is irrelevant. I told them that was the day we got home from our trip. That was it. Actually we got home in the 4th at 2 am. But I just said the 3rd. I am positive, unless tampered with that I did not make a statement saying we got home on the 3rd. And the truck died. I never said that. I told the claims department that I just got out to my truck and it won’t go into any gear, yet it was fine last night, Sunday the 5th when I got home for the night from the grocery store.
I appalled that they are sticking with a comment, I never made. Yet they deny a claim. But won’t go back for review, even though they are blatantly wrong. Carshield, please produce the audio you claim I said. They become rude and they won’t even think about taking another look, listen. Everything that was in writing from my call, probably went through several hands and they ended with a ridiculous, an untrue claim. Now I know I’m right. But they keep saying I’m wrong. I know what I said. I know when my truck died. How could it die on the 3rd when I drove it straight through the day. It’s absolute unprofessional. Why would you claim I said something I didn’t. Listen to the claims recording. It’s all there. Yet you cannot find anything to back up your claim.
Stay far away from carshield. They make false statements about my statements. Customer service is rude and unwilling to help. I pretty much got a “tough luck”, yet my recording proves it all. I do not know why they have done this to me. But don't let it happen to you. Stay away from carshield. I hope you do the right thing and fix this. What you’ve done maybe fraudulent and illegal. Original Review: I bought a CarShield policy on 12/17/19. You have to go through a 20 day waiting period and 500 miles. It doesn’t matter. CARSHIELD WILL FIND A WAY NOT TO PAY FOR A CLAIM. My issue happened the day of 01/06/20....21 days in. I called the claims department immediately, filed a claim then set up for a tow. BUT THEY DENIED THE CLAIM STATING THE MECHANIC SAID IT HAPPENED ON 01/03/20. IMPOSSIBLE.
I was driving home from a trip down south on the 3rd and actually got home about 2:30 am on the 4th. I NEVER SPOKE WITH THE MECHANIC. The Owner Advised me on the 6th, the claim was filed on the 6th, the towing slip is from the 6th. Yet a very rude Customer Service Lady said, "We’re going with the 3rd". I asked her if they recorded my calls on the 6th. She said yes...then I Asked her the date the claim was filed and to listen to my recording which CLEARLY states that I drove it Sunday the 5th. Everything was fine except the “Change Engine Oil” light came on. The Avalanche is built with this feature to let you know. This has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION.
BOTTOM LINE...even though there is outstanding evidence pointing at the 6th. They refused to give me any information...and though I CLEARLY proved that the issue happened on day 21...CARSHIELD REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN. Saying a judgment has been made. Customer service is rude, unhelpful and will not connect you to a manager. Please...Stay away from the carshield auto warranty, which also has a grade of “F” from the Better Business Bureau.
STAY AWAY FROM CARSHIELD. STAY AWAY FROM CARSHIELD. They are not morally professional, and even though my proof was right there...they picked a date outta the air so I’d be DENIED. Carshield sill take your money every month, but they will not pay claims. I may go to WBZ TV in Boston which runs a show on consumer fraud. That May ** them down, I don’t know. I’ll give up my lost wages claim if they just do the right thing and pay for my complete repair... Because I'm disabled and a former Firefighter that is diagnosed with severe PTSD. This is not helping it. I see my psychiatrist next week just to have all the info for my lawyer who may take this to court and ask for loss of wages, emotional stress and of course my transmission getting fixed. I don’t know, my Boston legal team will decide what to do. Stay away from car shield auto warranties.

This is the worst company I’ve had the pleasure of doing business with. If you want to burn money and not get any results go ahead and sign up. I have been paying this company for 6 months and I finally have repairs that need to be covered just to find out, as the supervisor put it to me “we can’t do anything for you" and when I asked for a refund for services that were never rendered the supervisor was very uninterested in discussing it.

I had to take my car in to the ford dealership for the front end. They had to replace a bearing the ford company was going to put one they had in stock but Carshield would not let them use it. They sent one in that took 3 days to get. They paid with no problem. It went out in just a few months less than 8 months. They would not cover it and I had to pay out of my pocket $374.00. I no longer have them.

I have not had an experience with purchasing an actual warranty from CarShield, so I cannot speak to the quality of their business. My review is about their customer service/call center. I saw yet another commercial about CarShield, so I decided to go to their website to get a quote, because I did not want to speak to anyone at that time. Well I entered my information into their website, then instead of getting a quote, I received a notification saying that I would be getting a call from them. A few minutes later, the phone rings. I answer and it's CarShield.
I cannot remember the name of the guy that I talked to. The conversation started out nicely. He told me the kind of plan I could get based on my vehicle's mileage, and then quoted me on the monthly price and gave me the down payment I would need to pay today. I told him that I would be unable to purchase anything today, that I was only needing a quote to discuss with my husband, who was not there at the time. After telling him I couldn't buy it that day, the man told me that he was able to apply a discount to my total, which he said would only be available if I bought it today. I again expressed my inability to pay anything today, that I was low on money right now and I needed to speak to my husband first. I asked him if I could save the quote and pick this conversation up another day.
Again he retorted with yet another discount, lowered the total again, and told me he could only do this for me if I purchased that day. He began to put pressure on me by saying that my car will break down and I will be completely without transportation if I couldn't afford to fix it. I understand that he is a salesman and he has a pitch that he has to make for CarShield. So far in the conversation I was merely a little annoyed, but I understood his reasoning for pushing. But it was what happened next that really upset me.
The conversation went back and forth as stated above for quite some time, with him trying to convince me to buy today and me telling him that I can't and only needed quote. Then he said for the final time that he was able to lower the price today significantly, and that normally cars with my mileage would not even be considered for the golden plan, especially not that price. Exasperated, I finally explained to him that I genuinely had no money aside from enough for my groceries and essentials and that I would need to do this another day when I had the money. I felt so ashamed having to admit that I am basically poor to a stranger over the telephone, and I thought for sure he would respond respectfully after baring my soul to him.
What he said next is the reason for this review: he said "Do you have a credit card that you can use today to start your plan?" I explained to him that I cannot use a credit card because I don't have an open account with a credit card company as I am still struggling to pay down my debt from the last card I opened. At this point my husband walked in and realized what was going on and told me to hang up. Before I hung up he was still continuing to suggest that he would be willing to hold while I got a credit card to use for my purchase.
I hung up. It was appalling to me that this man would suggest that I go into debt just to get a sale. I understand he is a salesman, but this should never have gone this far and it made me feel very uncomfortable. Though I am not poor, I was simply going through a lean time, I still felt inadequate. I had previously planned on choosing CarShield to purchase a warranty for my Buick, but after this call I am afraid to attempt speaking to a CarShield employee ever again. If I could give zero stars for this experience, I would.

I called to cancel my my contract with Car Shield and was lied to. The lady told me my mechanic did not call to check to see if what needed to be done to my car was covered repairs and she said no one had called. My mechanic said he did call and was told what needed to be done to my car was not covered. I’ve had Car Shield for quite a while and never used it and the first time I need repairs on my car it’s not covered so therefore I want to cancel Car Shield.

Our engine light came on saying there was a major need. We called and got a repair for the next day. Car Shield set up the repair, but the light came back on. No charge for the work. Car Shield kept all repair diagnostics at no cost.

Very simply put... They refused to cover unless they were allowed to put substandard parts on my car. I have an infant and toddler. Safety means absolutely everything to my family. I'm extremely disappointed in CarShield. I'm researching for another service and I will be cancelling when I find one.

Your coverage statement has a discrepancy. Your own people have said: "I see your point" however refuse coverage. When I spoke to a rep, he agreed and said sorry. I was transferred several times to no avail. You are poor at seeing the obvious.

I spoke to three people and did NOT get a satisfaction answer, so I had to pay the dealership $200.00 over my $100.00 deductible! I am NOT a happy customer and will be cancelling my extended warranty plan with CarShield! Carshield needs to send their people through a customer service program, all they could say is "that is what the book says". If they understood anything about diagnosis and how to diagnose a problem, they would understand sometimes the "book" isn't the only answer.
Sad they are willing to lose a customer over a $200.00 dispute. I did leave them for Endurance Warranty Services and when I called CarShield to cancel. They were VERY RUDE and argued with me about how they were right and I was wrong. So out of four people I spoke too, not one was empathetic. I was only treated by arrogance and belittlement!!! No customer service training at this company for sure.

It appears the repair facility was trying to overcharge you on the amount of labor needed for this repair by a half hour resulting in you paying more than the deductible. I purchased a warranty with this company and they refused to pay to have my vehicle repaired. They wanted the mechanic to tear down my engine which I would have to pay for ($2000.00) so their representative could come to the repair shop and make up any excuse to say it was something else and it is not covered. A lot of Americans don't have money like that and hope that the little that they do have going towards a car warranty company would help them in these unfortunate situations. Not with Carshield!
Also, watch out for these reviews that give them praise. For most are just customer service on the phone situations. Look at the reviews that actually has repair work needed. You will see the majority of them will have 1 star! I had my lawyer look deeply into the warranty contract and there is a lot of conflicting terms of service in it that gives them ways to deny services.

In order to determine the cause of failure for this repair, a tear down is necessary. If the repair needed is covered under your policy, we would pay for the tear down. The sales rep that handled my warranty purchase assured me of my questions. repairs, deductibles and labor rate. Said for my coverage if anything goes wrong, they will be taken care of. Excellent customer service! The cost was reasonable and was able to have it spread out monthly without interest. I recently leased a new car and no longer needed the coverage. I had an experience with CarShield and I was displeased with what I've been through. I needed a part for my car then I had to pay the people to put the part on my car, they found a part for me at AutoZone for 150.00 and the labor was 280.00, CarShield paid nothing. It was not the experience I was hoping for. I pay 100.00 per month.

Called to cancel service and get a refund, but was talked into staying on board at a discounted rate. I really need the $99 initial investment back and called to get that in place today, but the rep was very persuasive and trained very well to say all the right things to make me feel irresponsible if I take coverage off my vehicle because it has over 100k miles.

Umm NO... I notice this is a tactic you use to deter repairs. A complete teardown is costly and time consuming. Many of your negative reviews revolve around this "workaround/beat around the bush" tactic you use. Customers are left incurring additional expenses by taking the vehicle elsewhere or making the shop complete this additional step for you to find a "REASON" not to cover the repairs in the end. I TRULY HOPE CONSUMERS READ YOUR NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!!! It is very clear you are deceiving people. I am glad I read the reviews and stopped the never ending cycle you put your "clients" through.
Original Review: I began research into one of these plans as my truck approached the 85k mile mark and started receiving propaganda and phone calls regarding vehicle warranties like these. I finally settled on Carshield and called them up. They offered me the Golden Plan, which is supposed to cover the vehicle bumper to bumper. Two months into acquiring the coverage and the truck gets a check engine light. I took it to my mechanic, which is an ASE certified shop for a check up. Couple of days later, mechanic calls and says the check engine light is a transmission related issue. He explains this is common on the make and model and year and that he has seen it before. I google it and sure enough, there is a common issue with the truck. My mechanic also advises they discovered my steering pump is on its way out during their test drive.
I am feeling good as I have this new carshield policy and let my mechanic know about it so he can call it in. Mechanic calls me back 20 mins later and states they were rude and denied all coverage. I call carshield myself and they advise the transmission must be brought down and a "tear down" must be completed so that they can inspect it themselves. WHY WOULD I PUT MY MECHANIC THROUGH THAT ADDITIONAL HEADACHE!!!? It's a computer system alerting them of the issue!! This isn't the 1930'S!!! Additionally, they tell me the steering pump is not covered, SO WHAT DO THEY COVER!!?? THESE GUYS ARE CON ARTISTS!!! I THREW AWAY 2 MONTHS $$$ WORTH OF THEIR USELESS "COVERAGE". Don't get fooled by them, save your money and pay for your repairs yourself.

Well I was satisfied with getting my vehicle fix but I wasn't satisfied with the way that I was told about getting documents to see if this had been done before. I was hassle around until I call the claim dept then I was told about faxing in paperwork and then finally! I found out about the Rental Car was for 1 day and at $40.00. Well by that time couldn't use it and I think it should've went toward my deductible since I didn't get to use it. That made me very unhappy that I wasn't a whole day to find out what was going on and what exactly was needed because the Phil Moore Buick GMC had no idea what was going on and neither did I until I call.

Company is very misleading. The coverage is not what they say it is. There is a catch to it as usual. In order for them to cover one part another has to be cover or replace. For instance I took my car to the shop. Did a diagnosis because the check engine light came on and basically Carshield covered nothing and the things that was covered they would not cover because in order for Carshield to cover it an attached part has to be replaced???? I don’t understand the logic of that!! Nonetheless since my claim will not be paid out, they will not reimburse me for the diagnosis, which they said they covered when I purchased the plan. ALWAYS A CATCH TO IT!! IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!! That’s what it is - TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!

Haven’t used services as of yet but when I need to it will be a blessing to only have to pay $100 deductible for my Mercedes to get fixed. That gives such peace of mind just to know I don’t have this potentially large car repair bill hanging over my head at any given time.

When I purchased the Car Shield warranty I hadn't expected to need it so soon and for sure I thought there would be a problem. I could not have been more wrong. I called customer service and they handled it from there. Everything was done with quality and in a timely matter. Really I can't stop telling everyone about Car Shield and how beneficial it is to have. I definitely would recommend all my family and friends to get it. If I didnt mention before the customer service is absolutely phenomenal, very courteous and they even called afterwards to make sure I had no questions or problems. Reps tell you that you have best plan, customer pays monthly fee, when I went to use plan after months of paying monthly premium nothing was covered. What a disappointment, cannot recommend this company to anyone. One rep tells you everything you need is covered but they tell the repair shop it's not covered. Forked tongue.

The knock sensors on my 2005 Suburban were not covered by the CarShield gold policy that I have on my truck. If your car is older than 12 years old, then do not purchase this service. I have three major repairs, which totaled over $3,000 in one year. CarShield denied all the claims that were filed, because they said these repairs are not covered, pursuant to Section B of the contract. My car is 14 years old and the salesperson with whom I spoke lead me to believe that most "major repairs" would be covered. That was no true.
In fact, I first heard about CarShield on CNN and thought they surely must be a reputable company. This company is not honest and their people of trained to deny all claims unless the repairs are "specifically" AND "verbatim" listed in Section B of the contract. I will stop short of calling them a fraud - however, I do not believe they have dealt fairly with me! Do not purchase this product - instead, put the equivalent money away into a saving fund to be used for car repairs.

My vehicle has a blown head gasket so my car dealership put in a claim; claim was denied twice citing head gasket alone won’t be covered. It has to be an internal lubricated part. So heads were sent to machine shop where thorough tests were done. As of today, 01-17-20, my dealer repair shop found that an internal bolt to the engine (that is lubricated) caused the leak & therefore the head gaskets to malfunction. And again, we were told bolts aren’t covered. This is ridiculous & this company is a rip off. Don’t buy anything from CarShield. Your best bet is to buy from the dealer itself. Sick & tired of companies that rip people off to make their money. And yes, we have pictures & diagnostic reports. These guys should at least send someone out to actually inspect instead of making these denials from their desks. Horrible service.

I Requested a quote on their website, and I was only looking for a quote. Nothing else. The company called me minutes later and I was connected to a salesperson. The salesperson explained the warranty then gave me a quote of $129/mo. I tried to thank him for the quote and said, several times, that I was only looking for a quote to give my wife for her car. He kept asking me how I wanted to pay for it.
I kept telling him I wasn't interested. He kept lowering the plan to get the price down. I kept telling him no and that I was ending the conversation. He kept pressuring me, telling me how expensive it is to fix a car and how could I expect to pay a lower monthly premium for insurance when it cost so much to repair my car. I finally had to hang up on him and I blocked the number he called me on. I was only looking for a quote, of which I thought would be given to me on the website, or possibly by email. No! They called me on my cell phone. VERY HIGH-PRESSURE SALES TEAM. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I placed a claim on Nov 13, 2019. Came to find out the pump in the transmission went out on my truck. It was finally repaired on December 7, 2020. Almost three months later. I did not have a rental car, nor was one offered. Apparently it covers it, but I didn't know. They require a tear down to verify the cause of the failure. After debating with Auto Shield, that they can not test any pressures to verify this after the transmission is torn down. They have to have it done, and an inspector out. I'm thankful to have had a warranty in place when this did happen. However, I could not afford to pay anything additional out of pocket. So I had to agree to go with Auto Shield's way of repairing my vehicle. Which was sending a used transmission. When my mechanic received the used transmission, it was full of old oil with the old filter.
Getting down to billing with my deductible, and what Auto Shield owed the mechanic. Auto Shield expected me to pay for the tear down they require in their contract - five mechanic hours. Then they expected me to pay for the flush of the used transmission and fluids and a new filter. It took over a week for my mechanic to get paid after the vehicle was fixed. He did not get paid what he was rightfully owed. After all of the hoops and phone calls and multiple inspector visits, waiting for a used part, caused such a long and ridiculous process... he will not work on any vehicle with this warranty again. I had a concern with a broken differential bushing in a 2008 Nissan 350Z. The bushing had been leaking for months. I had been approved for the Car Shield and have been paying it since August, then when I go in to try to utilize it at a local mechanics shop an inspector wanted to come out to inspect my car. I left the car for a couple of days and the inspector cancelled my contract. He noticed my car had aftermarket intakes, exhaust, oil cooler... These parts have been installed by me and had nothing to do with the rear differential bushing. Now after four months of on time payments, they will refund me a one month value because the inspector deemed my car cancelled for CarShield. If your car has a single aftermarket part on it, stay away from this company.

They were able to explain the options and etc. They were able to work with me when I was able to purchase the plan on 1/10/20 via direct deposit. When my car quit running they sent me a wrecker right away. No problem or questions. I don’t know yet how it will go on repairs because the shop hasn’t determined the damage yet. I will add more when I see how my repairs are taken care of.

My engine failed. CarShield replaced my engine and it was a very expensive cost. CarShield honored everything they said they would do according to the coverage I have. I will keep CarShield as long as I can. You cannot go wrong with their service.

I saw advertisement on tv however the advertisement DON'T match the services they claim in advertisement. It's a hoax. CarShield only negotiates for a cheaper price. I don't need a negotiator. I need Results. I need what carshield don't supply.

Repair was just enough to get car running! I felt it should have been more extensive! A long block should have been used! Instead of a partial rebuild! Not happy with the end result! I am sure this will result in further problems down the road!

The first call I made the service agent was rude. She had no compassion to my situation. After getting all of my info she TOLD me to hold. After being on a 15 minute hold she came back onto the line and abruptly hung up! Second call went much better. In-fact that call kept me as a customer.

I spoke to a young man at Carshield on Dec 5th. He said all major work was covered after 20 days, transmission, motor, a/c, belts etc and unlimited claims with $100 deductible. I decided to go with it. On Jan 9th, I found out a belt was cracked and my a/c compressor clutch was bad. I called Carshield who gave me American Auto Shield, the claim company. The young man said the A/C wasn't covered. I told him I wanted a refund and to cancel my membership because they told me all major work was covered and it's not. He said I needed to call Carshield and yes I should get a refund.
I called Carshield back and explained the situation. The young lady said she could try to get me approved for negotiated price on parts and labor and that Firestone works with them well on this. I called Firestone late in the day as I was traveling back from seeing my mom who just had her leg amputated. Eric at Firestone asked me to come in at 9 am the next morning. (1/10/20) Justin at Firestone called American Auto Shield (Claims) who said they didn't cover A/C work and Firestone told American Auto Shield they don't accept outside parts and don't negotiate prices. I called Carshield to ask for a refund, Allie said she didn't see any notes on the system showing Firestone ever talked to Claims.
I called Claims and Jacob said sometimes they don't document in the system when they just tell someone something isn't covered but he was documenting our conversation now. I called back to Carshield again and spoke to Kisha who was no help and kept reporting no refund after 30 days. I asked for her Supervisor and she said she's going to tell you the same thing.
I spoke to Danni, I'd. She was worst than Kisha in talking over me. She said the same thing. I asked for the Home Office address and phone number. She gave it to me. I called and spoke to Curtis who was actually under Danni. Kisha and Curtis both said they were sorry I was told everything was covered and they didn't doubt that's what I was told but they still wouldn't give me a refund. I asked Curtis if they were with the BBB. He said No, that they weren't going to pay the BBB just to get a rating. I asked if they reported to any other group. He said Consumer Affairs. The reason I'm writing this review is because I was told all major work was covered but it wasn't. They mislead me and took my money. I would never recommend them or do business with them.

I took my car to Ford to have them check my ABS system out. The car was not working right and I don’t like driving that way. Ford called you and got OK to fix the problem and them you called to let me know that it would be fixed. The person who called was very friendly. I would recommend this to other people. They try to help in every way but when it comes to "RUST" unfortunately it is not covered. OUCH! I would like to see coverage for this in future. My vehicle is a 2005 with only 81,000 miles and is in great shape but in New Jersey you will get rust.

My car was in the shop and needed a new alternator and fusible link. I had to call CarShield to find out when the repair would be authorized as the repair shop had the parts on hand and I needed my car back asap. I had to have the repair shop call to push things along. Then I was told the fusible link was not covered and that the alternator was only partly covered because the part on hand was the Kia part and only the OEM part was fully covered (but was not on hand). I went ahead with the Kia part so I could get my car back asap but it still took until the next day due to the delayed authorization. Instead of being fully covered I still had to pay $560 for the repair. Not pleased.

It doesn't look like there was much of a delay in the claims process. The claim was started on 1/3 and we paid the repair facility on 1/6. It looks like you could've saved more if we went with the parts shipped in. I do understand needing your car back, however, but this was a fairly quick claims process.

PLEASE READ THIS COMPLAINT, CARSHIELD **** PLEASE READ THIS COMPLAINT, OR YOU'LL BE SORRY YOU DIDN'T. If I could give ”zero” stars, this CarShield would get it. I purchased this extended warranty back on 07/2018 for a 2008 Ford F250 6.4 Diesel 4x4 in excellent condition. I negotiated the monthly payment down to $77.00 a month for the platinum w/ Luxury electronics & labor coverage. On 12/10/2019, I made a claims that my truck wouldn't start. I had the truck told to the Ford dealer near by. The first diagnosis was air entering the fuel line and the service manager called after contacting CarShields warranty administrator American AutoShield and they informed him that this wasn't covered.
The service technician was thinking at that time a seal or ”O” ring at the fuel pump was the problem. But the trucks ”Cab”/from the trucks bed forward would need to be raised 6 ft. to expose the back of the engine/turbo and fuel pump. The estimated charges for this was $2500-$3000. Well I knew this work wasn't covered, so I had to sign for the work and the trucks was raised and the problem was the ”high” fuel pump fell and sent metal shavings through the engines fuel system. Now ”Fuel Pumps” are covered under my warranty, but now this work is $8050. Now, CarShield's administrator American AutoShield sent and investigator to the Ford dealership to inspect the truck and repairs needed.
Service manger informed me the investigator had with him a ”3” page document and needed photos. I live I Michigan and we get our share of snow and my home has a long driveway. So I purchased a used snow plow for this purpose. In my warranty snow plows are a ”exclusion” to this warranty, no matter to problem with the vehicle. My snow plow wasn't attached just the mounting brackets on the trucks frame was exposed. American AutoShield canceled my warranty and CarShield had the audacity to return this months $77 payment. And CarShield clean their hands with my warranty and kept my monthly payments all but one payment.
Don't believe their TV commercials about it's a finger snap to get their benefits and have a piece of mind your vehicle will be repaired. If I would have got a rental car, I would have been paying for that also. READ THIS, ”Any aftermarket item installed on a covered vehicle will void the warranty!!! A INSTALLED ALARM SYSTEM, A RADIO THIS COMPANY WILL USE IT TO CANCEL YOUR WARRANTY TO STOP FROM COVERING A CLAIM. If you do purchase extended warranty from ”CARSHIELD” read your warranty, you have 30 days to cancel their warranty. I didn't and they cancelled my warranty and kept my money.

CarShield paid what the contract stated to replace a water pump on my 2008 Jaguar Type S. I bought the car two months ago with 26500 miles. I also purchased CarShield prior to picking up the car. With 27600 miles the water pump started leaking and I took it to my Foreign Car Garage, gave them the information and they did the rest. Now anyone thinking the total bill, less a $100 deductible would be paid hasn’t read the contract. The contracts plainly states that the covered cost of any repairs will be done at the least expensive cost.
That means they will only pay for or credit you with the cheapest parts available, not the Original Manufacturer part. Well, my repair shop will not put on anything but the original manufacturer part, and I’m glad. A new Jaguar water pump cost $265.00 and the cheapest Remanufactured pump was $65.00. I had to pay the extra $200.00. It also needed a new $75.00 drive belt that was showing age they wouldn’t pay for because it is an age related item and considered a preexisting condition. They did pay the labor on everything which was $340.00 plus $65.00 for the pump for a total of $405.00 but the deductible made it around $305.00 they paid on a $750.00 bill.
I have had this coverage for two months at $130 a month and another monthly payment this week, I have paid them $390.00 and gotten back $405.00. The question now is it worth it. Having put over 1200 miles on the car I pretty well know the condition of everything and fairly certain the engine and drive train are in good condition that I’m considering dropping the coverage. I think that I will be better ahead to put that $130.00 into an account until it's needed for more expensive future repairs. Jim

Can never talk to the same adjuster. Spending days for someone to come and look at the vehicle to open the claim. I’ve now lost my job due to no vehicle to get to work. ;( I know it’s their job to fully review everything and find any way possible not to cover your vehicle. But when someone truly has a vehicle break down and has followed their warranty specifications there should be such a wait to have your vehicle repaired.

Excellent service. I would prefer to be able to have a lesser charge per month. I do not understand about living in Florida and cannot get a lower rate. It would be nice to pay about $50 a month. That way I could afford to cover both my vehicles.

I signed up with this program that I hope I never needed. I contacted the third party administrators when I needed help for a repair and that's when bad service happened. They asked for all my repair receipts for the past thirteen years of ownership, they wanted me to pay for a breakdown of repair before they would decide if they wanted to fix it and pay for the fix.
The administration of CarShield's third party then ran a Carfax on my vehicle and insistent I send them repair receipts on a few repairs that I didn't send them already. I can't keep every receipt for 13 years I told them and they started to not be on my side. I told them that, "If you see something years ago in the Carfax then why are you holding the repair up to get me driving again." Carshield stated that they are not in control of the third party Administration people. Just pay for your repair yourself and save your monthly payments that you're wasting. Good luck! This is just what happened to me and I wanted everyone to know.

The only reason I gave CarShield 3 stars is because you finally paid for most of repair on this most recent claim. Otherwise, you would have gotten 1 Star, because that is the least you can rate. CarShield seems to find any nitpicking thing to refuse to pay a claim. We have paid our monthly premiums, every month, for several years in a timely matter. You cost us over $4000 that should should have been paid. I have been very upset with the company since and keep vowing to cancel. Thankfully, when we needed coverage again, it was paid. We have several friends that are unhappy with CarShield & several that were considering taking out extended policies. I am torn, as to advising to take or cancel.
