I've been very pleased with the two repairs that have been performed on my car within this year 2020. Not once has there been a second thought regarding my repair needed to be done on my car. It was a smooth operation. Customer service was very cooperative and concern.

They help with everything. When I was going to cancel they found a way to keep me as a customer. They were very professional. I would tell all my friends and tell people I don't know and already told the place I received are car from so he can pass it on.

This is not a warranty company. Run run run before you loose your money. They have many many many loopholes to deny your claim!!! A warranty covers you claim no matter what!!! They DONT!!!! They took over 30 days just to tell me they are going to deny my claim and not repair my vehicle!

Not satisfied with the claims department, several phone calls were dropped. Spoke with representative from Car Shield and was suppose to receive a phone call from a supervisor on two occasions and never received them. Receptionist are very helpful. Can't say much about the rest of the company.

Asked if heater repair was covered. The customer service rep was very help and polite. He described my coverage and told me the steps to follow when I take my car to the mechanic. Also the phone number to call.

After reviewing my contract it is my understanding the required repair is covered under said contract. I look forward to your approval for the shop to proceed with repairs at your expense less the $100 deductible. This process has taken longer than I would prefer. But I understand there must be check, balances and accountability. Is there anything else I can do to help, and provide an expedient resolution? Diagnosed as high level maintenance not covered by you. Cost way more than I can afford for repairs. Why don't you cover maintenance beyond normal conditions on late model vehicles? Would help people on social security and other fixed income.

I feel extremely confident with Car Shield vehicle protection services. It give me peace of mind while traveling knowing that if I was to encounter any vehicle problems that I'm not alone on the highway. Very helpful. They explained everything. I just got it and haven't used it, but it seems fine. It won't cover for a few days, so I will have to sell. I don't really know what else I can say as I haven't had a chance to make any claims, so this is all I can say.

Last Friday I called to have my car towed the dealership in Brewster, NY. He came to my apartment complex. That was great. He gave me a jump start. I really thought that there was something more serious wrong with my car. I don't feel that I should have to pay a $ 50 fee, when the car wasn't towed anywhere and he just gave me a jump start. I have coverage with you.

I was sold a policy for my truck that I use to pull a horse trailer. When canceling I was told that it would not have been covered due to this activity. I specifically explained the use of this truck when purchasing the policy.

No one seems to know what wrong with my car. Your rep made some suggestions. I have to be careful as I don't have a lot of money for repairs. My husband has Alzheimer's and is legally blind and he has trouble hearing. He is 84 yrs and I am 80.

Could you tell if I am correct? The declaration page says my coverage would begin (on my 2005 Mustang) once I have driven 200 miles and I have waited 90 days is that correct? I was once told I had to drive 1000 miles and wait 30 days for coverage to begin. I am retired so I do not drive every day. I purchased the car 2018 and had 22,000 + it now has 23,600 + miles. Do you see my problem at your rules? I will pay for insurance with you and not have coverage for two plus years. The amount of time to get 1000 miles at the rate I currently drive. Sounds like a BBB investigation. D

It appears there is some confusion about when the coverage starts on your Mustang. Allow me to clarify. There are two options for your grace period. It's either 30 days AND 1000 miles OR 90 days and 200 miles. Whichever comes first. So you do not need to wait 2 years. At most its 90 days and 200 miles. We are happy to explain this further if needed. Feel free to give us a call. Lastly, your payment recently declined and it is not active at this time. Please contact us to fix that asap!

Car needed a tow. A little confusing at first but finally got this straightened out not with CarShield but with their 3rd party. However everything has been taken care of and hope to get my check shortly. I hope this service will be worth it once, my car starts having issues.

Transmission pump went out on vehicle I was in a contract with the Car Shield. Car shield did not pay for the repairs. They said that it was pre-existing which is fake news because you cannot drive around with the transmission pump out. I will not recommend car shield to no one. They do not repair your vehicles.

We are sorry to hear we could not help out on this repair. The claims adjuster is a 3rd party, non-biased company. After inspection, they determined that the failure was accelerated by the long term fluid leak from the transmission cooler lines. Since you were recently out of your grace period, the issue had to have been going on during your grace period putting this as pre-existing. Purchased an extended warranty on the words of a salesman that everything except wearable items (brakes, tires, etc.) were covered, and after over 12 months of bank draws brought my vehicle in and claim was denied for power steering. READ THE LEGAL 50 PAGES! They do not pay!

I submitted a claim on Wednesday 10/21. Nobody contacted the shop at all. I have been calling and I keep getting the reset answer of I will be contacted in 24 to 48 hours, I’ve been these three times now. The last representative Margarita, wasn’t very helpful. She also told me for the first time that my claim may not be approved until weeks from now.

Once you submitted the claim on 10/21, I am showing we began reviewing the documents submitted and scheduled an adjuster. The adjuster is a 3rd party, non-biased adjuster based near your location. Timing of this is subject to their availability as we cannot have adjusters near every repair facility nationwide. That person does not work for CarShield, nor the administrator, American Auto Shield. The adjuster will review the claim and contact the repair facility for any next steps. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on the road soon.

Everything that CarShield had promised with the contract was all lies and misleading. If I had known this before I signed up I wouldn't have everything that was said was a lie. Very disappointed and having to deal with another company is really upsetting. Also no one can give you a clear answer. I wish someone with real authority would contact me.

I am showing we are paying $1804 toward your repair. Looking into your account some more, I see the repair facility is overcharging for the parts needed to fix this and are unwilling to negotiate their prices. This doesn't happen too often but our hands our tied if they will not budge on their prices. We use a nationally recognized labor guide but it is up to each repair shop whether they choose to follow that or not. As you are aware, American Auto Shield handles the claims on your account and have tried everything they can to lower your out of pocket expenses. I was approved for a new transmission but I’m still waiting on repair... Because, took about a week before adjusters made a decision..and so I’m still have to submit my rental and it might not cover all.. I experience two other times with CarShieldAnd had a very over satisfying experience.

Got quote. Didn’t wait even one day before I got follow up call. Dude I talked to was like a car dealer. I called and let manager know and never received follow up call after issue was supposedly addressed with the man. I can’t imagine what an older man or lady could go thru when pressed for decision. I have a Car Shield extended warranty, I had a engine issue. Had it taken in and diagnosed. First was told no issue. They need a estimate. Got that done then they asked for maintenance records for 1 year. I provided 3+ years. They told repair facility was denied due to lack of maintenance record, then told me was denied due to repair facility saying sludge could have been cause, so called repair facility who said they never said such so made 3 way call with repair facility and car shield which they again just kept changing excuses. Last statement was denied due to tarnish on the oil pan (which car shield calls sludge). They try to claim tarnish starved a main bearing which is impossible. The repair facility repeatedly told them but according to the insurer if there is tarnish or rust inside a engine they don't have to cover which means any internal combustion engine would not be covered.
My 800 mile new truck had tarnish on the pan walls already and the dealership said that's automatically going to form from oil being present but that it has absolutely no effect on the oil system. So if you have a warranty they are scamming you on engine internals. My vehicle doesn't have 100,000 miles and gets less than 5000 miles a year due to it being a winter only vehicle yet gets oil changes many times a year with usually less than 2000 miles on oil.

My review was not about not receiving a rental car. It is about the run around I received when I started my claim. There was no delay from waiting for my service records. I had just purchased my car 3 months before. This was my first time being serviced. I sent in my car title as requested and I believe they could have looked up my claim # from my name on my car title. It took 6 days to finished service that called for a 2.5 hour repair because the adjuster didn't want to use the part from the dealership until it was 30 mins before closing after the 53rd hour of being there. It actually cost Car Shield 1729.93 for the warranty covered part not 3,054 they claimed in the earlier response. After asking for "my first and last born finger prints" (exaggeration). Car shield paid there part after I paid my deductible first at the end of the business day again... There has to be an easier company to deal with other than Car Shield... I still say "Buyer Beware!!!"

Claim rejected on 10/20 for another claim (same repair) in July. It was rejected as my initial 20 days was not fulfilled yet, had 2 days to go. Now I went to a better mechanics garage in October and it was rejected due to issue in July. Work has not been done and I need to get it done. I've been paying but I can't get work done.

Sorry to hear about the issue with the claim. If the issue with the vehicle is the same now as back in July when you were in your grace period, then this is pre-existing and not coverable under your policy. We recommend going back to the repair shop that made the first repair as that did not fix the issue apparently. If you have questions about claims, you will need to contract American Auto Shield. They are the administrator of your account and handle all claims inquiries.

About a year ago I had a $1500.00 expense to replace my headlight assembly. Car Shield refused to pay one penny of the repair even after the auto dealer talked with them. I only keep Car Shield because I'm afraid of another expense. My family and financial planner say it's a scam and that I'm wasting my money. I also feel the same but am too afraid to drop it. I feel Car Shield could have paid at least part of the bill. I am age 75 and this will probably be my last car so I feel I have to keep the coverage.

Car Shield needs to be more clear when they sell you bumper to bumper warranty about the run around you get when you try to submit a claim for a clearly covered repair. My car is in the mechanic shop for a 2 hour repair which means it doesn't qualify for a rental car while you wait. But the adjuster waited past 53 hours to qualify the repair. I am still without a car 4 days later because the part could not be ordered until approved by the adjuster. I am extremely dissatisfied with the product/service from Car Shield and the untimely care that I am experiencing from the Claims Adjuster. I am happy to answer any questions about my experience... D

I am showing we paid $3054 on your repair which, in total, took 5 business days. We are sorry if there was confusion about the rental car. It is outlined in your contract that the repair of the vehicle needs to take over 4 hours. The biggest delay experienced was on waiting for documents to be sent in to the claims department. It appears info got sent in but had no identifiable information on it (i.e claim number) so they had no way of knowing that those documents were yours.

I have gave a card when I first sign up and called later in the week and gave customer service the card that would be used monthly to collect payment. I wanted to get my car fixed, but Carshield denied coverage because the coverage I had did not cover my repair. I feel this is unfair for I was given only the gold membership when I applied for the coverage due to my mileage. So, I asked if I can upgrade. They upgraded me, but I had to wait another 20 days and another 500 miles. Then they stated because they are aware of the damage they cannot fix my car because it is pre-existing. I drive a Mercedes Benz cl550. I asked if there was any way you can help me get my car fixed, or if they can pay a portion of the repair. Carshield stated they couldn't under the new upgrade. So, I have a repair that is needed, and I still have to pay the upgrade price until my mileage goes another 500 miles. I feel so let down. For them to be the Number one extended warranty company in the nation they let me down on this one. I really wish they would reconsider.

It has been 9 days since I got all documentation into CarShield. I have not had a response to let me know where they are in the process of authorization for repairs to be done. I have called customer service and have been updated when I do but no call back to let me know where things stand.

CarShield didn't come thru. I read my contract. The oil pump is covered. The carshield rep said the seal was not covered. I still know that he was incorrect. Why would cs cover the part but not its internal part. Why do I have to let my oil pump go out leaving me stranded instead of replacing the seal?

I contacted CarShield because I had a problem with my vehicle's door. I took it to the local Nissan dealership and I was told That the lock mechanism needed to be replaced. I spoke with a representative who told me what I needed to do to get my vehicle repaired. My vehicle was repaired 24 hours later, I was impressed with how quickly I was able to get back into my vehicle. Although my end of the process was quick, I was told by the car dealership that the call to get the process started was close to an hour. I think that this issue needs to be addressed.

My phone experience was excellent! The confirmation on my e-mail was a different story, When I saw the name MEDCO, I thought I had paid some other company over the phone. In very small print I saw Car Shield. That was definitely a big scare when I saw a company's name I didn't recognize.

I’m very disappointed with the way the insurance handles my claim. Every single time I call in with a claims repair no matter what it is I’m always told that the parts are not covered but I pay $100 faithfully every month. I went to my dealership today to have a repair down on the sunroof of my car. I told them I had CarShield to help pay the bill and was informed that they don't honor carshield anymore. When I asked why, they said that for the last 6 months or so they were having trouble getting paid by them so the GM of the dealership said they would no longer accept them. They are a big name dealership here in NC. What good does this warranty do me if the place I take my car to for servicing doesn't accept them?

The worst decision I ever made was to buy policies with this company; best decision I ever made was to cancel them. Wish I had done it a year ago -- or better still, that I had NEVER bought them to begin with! This company cost me thousands of dollars in premiums, and when I finally needed them, they only paid me a small fraction of my repair bill. I paid 6 months' worth of premiums upfront in a lump sum for two cars, and thereafter they deducted almost $200/month in premiums from my checking account -- but every time I called them for a question or a concern, they told me my policies were "backed out" and I had to go through a rigmarole to prove to them that my policies were still in force. LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE TIME!
When I finally asked them to cover a repair bill for me, they not only told me again that my policies were "backed out", they told it TWICE to my mechanic when he called to discuss the bill with them. At one point a CSR promised to have a supervisor call me that afternoon, but I never received a call from a supervisor. I called the CSR back the next day to find out why, and she told me there were notes in my file from the supervisor all about the call she had just had with me -- which never took place! And they don't pay you the amount of your bill, they pay you what they THINK you should have been charged by your garage, based on what they claim are national averages. Well, I live in Appalachia, where everything is CHEAP, and they claimed that my bill was almost $100 more than I should have been charged -- so for a $339 bill they only covered $156 of it, after all the premiums I paid them!
I wasted THOUSANDS of dollars in premiums on this scam, and I lost it all. Some of the CSR's were nice and tried to help, but the supervisors were either non-responsive or rude. One supervisor essentially tried to bribe me into not writing bad reviews about CarShield by offering to refund some of my premiums! DO NOT BUY POLICIES FROM THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS!

I had a gasket leak. That was not a covered part which is ridiculous. If you're going to warrant cars then any part that fails that is not the owner's fault should be covered. If not then advertise that many things are not covered.

I took my car the Honda Shop to be diagnosed. Once the diagnosis was completed I contact Car Shield. The customer service reps were great. The mechanic (Karim **) filed a claim but the Adjuster never called the mechanic to acknowledge the claim. I continued to call 1.800.587.4162 for days but I only received a recorded voice mail. I call customer service for an adjuster, I was told he was going to call the mechanic that day, but no luck. I am very disappointed.

Great knowledgeable support staff. Makes a difference. Well vetted Company with many very positive reviews. Way too many scam companies out there. CarShield is well established. Reviewed and respected even by my Mazda dealer. That says volumes about the respect they have for CarShield.

Explained all and efficient. Nicole had the information ready because she is in sales. Usually I ignore these offers, but I felt that this car might be expensive to maintain over a length of time. German cars need more maintenance than Japanese cars. Have owned both and this was true in my experience.

I called to ask about higher coverage on my car. The representative after my answer and gave me what the coverage would be covered on my plan. I have used my coverage in the past, but it doesn't cover everything to my car.

This is the first time we’ve used CarShield. The dealership I went to didn’t want to deal with CarShield so I had to pay upfront. I have submitted a claim, it would be nice to get an email saying they received it and what the status is instead of giving so many emails that are surveys! I did call and ask the lady on the phone did say they got it transferred me to claims and was on hold forever. Contract number is ** 2011 KIA Sorento.

The dealership that performs the mechanical work on my vehicles, recommended a transmission replacement for my vehicle when a diagnostic indicated such. Your company refused to comply with the recommended repairs and I continue to experience problems with my vehicle and you have said it's because the problem is electrical. I am dissatisfied.

We're sorry to hear this. We, at CarShield, have no say in the approval or denial of the claim. That is up the the administrator of the account, American Auto Shield. You are welcome to dispute this if you wish by contacting them. I do see we paid $825 for a repair on 9/25, however. Perhaps that was just a partial payment? It took a while before my claim was approved for the repairs. I didn't understand why, I had to pay so much for my repairs. The Service Advisor said that I had to pay for parts and overtime for engine repair.

Sorry for the delay. It looks like we sent the $1117 payment to the email we had on file for the repair facility and that was the email for the part owner. We had to cancel that one and re-issue the payment to a new email. That did take longer than expected and normally it does not take that long. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I have only called and talked to someone in your customer service dept. They were very helpful. That is the only experience I have had with CarShield. I am happy with the amount I have to pay. I do plan to have seek service in the future.

My Rep Mary was amazing. And I worked for a competitor being ForeverCar and I still went with CarShield because of the customer service by Mary and the Gold Level Coverage for my 2013 Passat. I will have CarShield for all my cars now and my family’s and friend’s cars also. Thanks again CarShield.

I was very pleased in the manner and the expediency in which my concerns were addressed by the customer service representative. Having auto repair protection with Car Shield for anything that may go wrong is one less problem to concern myself with.

It's always nice to talk to person, than talking to a machine, because get very confused talking to a machine than with a person. The lady I talked was very, very nice, I hope the next time I get her again.

After receiving and reviewing my contract, I could not find components that my salesperson stated would be covered. Called customer service to complain about this, to review contract covered components to make sure I was not missing the system within the contract. Afterwards received a discount on continued coverage vice cancelling contract.

I needed my contract number and question on electrical for my tail lights. I was given my number and was told that the circuit board was covered. I was then told the dealership will call you if I need a claim to be done.

Been over a week without my vehicle, waiting for an approval so dealership can just start. Bad so far. If it does not get approved before end of week, will definitely be canceling the account, terrible. So far this company sucks.

It appears we needed service records, however, we were sent snapshots of things that were written down on a piece of cardboard. Those files did not suffice as legitimate records. That caused a 6 day delay until we received legitimate records on 9/30. We are moving along as quickly as we possibly can on this claim.

I was a bit concerned when I did have to file a claim when I called and the hold time was thru the roof! Myself nor the shop could get in contact with anyone to get a claim going, But once it finally got thru to speak to someone they were really good and helped me with my issue. The shop was a procrastinating on doing their side of things but CarShield was on point and got me the info I needed and I got the claim submitted, they finally fixed the vehicle,

I have recently lost employment and I thought I was going to lose my insurance through Car Shield but to my delight the gentleman I spoke to reassured me that wasn't going to happen and he moved my payment to November 1st and I was really happy with his professionalism. This gives me the leeway I need to get new employment and get the bill paid????

My car has been broke for 2 weeks. CarShield confirmed that my transmission would be at dealership a week ago. My payment is still coming out of my bank Acct. No transmission has shown up yet. I need to really talk with someone about this. I have referred my friends to get CarShield but it’s not working for me. I’m very dissatisfied with this Company.

My car has been at Cottman transmission for 10 days it took 4 days for the inspector to go to the shop. 2 days to hear from Car Shield. Cottman was told to drop transmission and open it up. My car is sitting there now 4 days still waiting. I found online that the Transmission Module for the 2009 model was recalled. Cottman told me that the labor to drop the transmission is not covered by insurance and Car Shield knows that $450 Cottman also requested a different representative as they have had to wait nearly 5 days for a response. I asked Cottman to test the Transmission Module. I am still waiting. The price for extended warranty is great. But when the agent laughs when he told me what will be covered it was very disconcerting. Volkswagen does not accept this warranty.
