I feel it's a bait and switch company, I have a car issue, and claims are doing everything in their power to deny my claim, I called 3 times and got no call back, shop called a few times and no response, I called and asked for a manager, that was a joke, beware people, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I have had the Car shield warranty for about 3 months on my new vehicle. This month I happened to notice a leak coming from my vehicle. There is a leak coming from a part I was told that was covered. It just so happen I was having the car looked at the next day by a personal mechanic and he happened to mention the leak. I called car shield and explained, they told me it might be covered but in order to do the claim, the car has to be at the shop. I take the vehicle to the shop only to find out there is a leak on top of my control arms being broken. Fine control arms are apparently wear and tear, however the leak is not. THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT DUE TO ONE SIMPLE PART. This job cost me over 1,000 just to get done.
At this point I am furious and want to cancel the policy. I go to call and cancel and I am greeted by a VERY RUDE REPRESENTATIVE who just wants to go back and forth with me arguing over a warranty. She never even cancelled the policy. I hung up on this women and called back. I got a man who was nice and "seemed" like he wanted to help but ultimately, I haven't even heard from him. This company cares only for your money and barely wants to cover anything.... I would not recommend.

Your reps were patient and knowledgeable. Rather than going to replaced debit card, we changed for debiting checking account with payments remaining on 18th beginning in October. September payment was authorized for today from checking account. I appreciate your call and kindness.

I was confused and the rep helped me very much to understand and problem was resolved. I'm on a fixed income. When I first signed up I was supposed to get the policy copy on paper but I never received it. So now I will get it.

The repair facility were unable to contact the adjuster/appraisal. Phone calls or emails of the repair estimate were never returned. I wouldn’t recommend this contract service to anyone. I will report it to the BBB. Car Shield or American auto doesn’t have the customer best interest. My truck has been at the repair facility since 08-16-2021 - 09-21-2021. I don’t know why car shield doesn’t want to cover the repairs.

I been trying to upload a claim for the last 3 hours and keep getting a server error. Internal Server Error. "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@americanautoshield.com to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log." Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. You all need someone that can fix it. Thanks. Frederick

Wrong answers and bad attitudes from some of the personnel. I questioned their integrity, knowledge and customer services. The previous personnel, failed and ruined your Company's reputation. I have 20+ years in military uniform. If you don't know answers, ask someone who does. It makes both individuals look impressive. Rakia ** impressed me.

When I talked to the person who set up our contract, he indicated that there were two policies, one Gold and one Aluminum. He "promised the world" on covered charges. I've asked Tiffany (our conversation today) to send me an email denoting specific coverages for each plan.

The problem I have with Car Shield is the car rental portion of the contract. That put me in a very bad situation and when I first sign up with Car Shield the car rental was not clearly explained to me. I really felt it wasn't fair.

When I hear the TV commercials, it made me think of something that I needed, so I started my coverage about 6 months ago. My 2012 Ford Focus started to leak water at a rapid pace and it got to a place where it could not hold much water and the next thing the head gasket blew and the engine was no good. I have notified CarShield customer service many times only to be turned down for coverage. The mechanic at the garage told Carshield that the car had a blown head gasket and according to CarShield policy, there is no coverage for blown head gasket. But the truth of the matter is the water pump needed replaced, but it happened so fast the engine was affected.

It's just the nature of the beast. If CarShield covered more problems they probably wouldn't make much profit. But, after several expensive break downs and none of them being covered, it just wasn't for me. Definitely a buyer beware product. You get what you pay for sometimes.

Unforeseen circumstances in my finances was forcing me to cancel, but I was able to make my situation work by talking with your representative to make payment arrangements breaking my payment in half so now I get to keep my coverage, which was the Silver Package.

Phone conversation, agent was very pleasant. She answered all my questions. She further explained what is covered, gave me the addresses of other automotive shops that accepts Car Shield and the phone numbers. I had called the day before and was expecting a call back, didn't get it, she apologized for it. She was great and very genuine.

The policy did not cover anything electrical that leaves a lot on the table for no coverage. Transmissions have lots of solenoids that fail mechanically and they will decline the repair if this happens to your transmission. Car Shield does not care about you as a customer or the repair shop. Their goal is to find a way to decline the repair.

For close to decade I’ve paid for this warranty and I’ve used it once. But the one time I needed to use it they had a loophole in place to made sure it wouldn’t be covered. Before doing that their customer service lied to me and blamed the dealership. Keep saying someone would call me but never did. To make it worse they said I had coverage to cover extra and when I got there to make sure and try and use, they said that policy never existed. When they see all the notes for the call backs and clarification they didn’t call me back one time. Don’t waste your money with this horrible company.

I brought my car to the dealer on July 9, 2021 and it was there until July 29th, 2021. Carshield was very difficult to deal with. They ran me around for weeks. I cancelled the contract because they really sucked and I made it known. I have been after them for weeks now to get my rental car reimbursed and still haven't done to help me. I wanted my money refunded and I was told, "We don't do that." Customers service was terrible and I have told my friends not to buy carshield. Nothing but trouble and lies. I just want my money refunded and the 220.00 they caused me to spend because the battery went bad.

All positive--responsible info--knowledgeable personnel and helped throughout the process and follow-up. Would recommend them for warranty extensions. The work is all done through the company and the repair shops but they take any calls. Have not had any complaints at all. Will use them again.

This company is as closer to a scam as one can be. They email 5 times a day if they don’t get their payment within ONE day, yet actually cover NOTHING that they state the warrantee will, such as Valve cover gaskets and more. I haven’t ever heard from them declining yet, only my mechanics. Horrible service. Save your money. They are terrible.

I called to cancel my contract and I was told I could have a push back for a couple of months. I agreed and was assured if my financial issue did not change then I can call again for another push back but I am still covered!

Robert ** and Mark ** have been extremely professional and very helpful, I have nothing but positive things to say about CarShield. They denied my claim based on a fake inspection and didn’t follow my contract guidelines. I was within my contract guidelines and they sent some quack to inspect my vehicle and deemed it preexisting damage so they won’t have to pay my claimed. I will spent the rest of my life bad mouthing CarShield to anyone who will listen! This company is fake and are false advertising!

I took my car to dealership for a recall and they did an inspection and found I had broken motor mounts. I called Car Shield and they had the car fix. The cost was about $1600. I was with Car Shield about two months. Thanks Car Shield for keep Your word. I would recommend Car Shield to everyone who needs after market auto insurance.

My first claim. Engine overheating. I paid to replace thermostat hose engine sensor. Truck still running hot. Mechanic stated to you and me that radiator is failing. You refused to replace it. Radiator also cools oil pump and transmission. I will have to drive it anyhow since I was told the radiator was covered but you refuse. If it overheats again the radiator will go and the engine transmission and oil pump as well. This will be on you. I called before I brought it in and was told radiator WAS covered and you have refused both to me and the repair company. I paid for the items not covered. VERY DISSATISFIED. Conversation prior and after recorded. Dan ** recommended you to me. This is a mint H2 Hummer. 6.2 liter engine. Bad idea on your part but you said it’ll be fine.

Took my car to the shop for an alternator.. Work was done and payment was made to the dealership very timely.. Dealership is trying to overcharge me on parts and labor because a bill over 100.00 still remains that they are asking for. I have contacted them in regards to why I owe more than the 100.00 seeing as they agreed to work on the car for an agreed amount.

Truck has been in shop for a month now, up on a lift, with the transmission removed, waiting for the new part. Car Shield says they only know when the part has been installed. They don’t know if it’s been delivered to the shop! Poorest service ever. Garage owner is upset because he needs the lift for other customers. Doubt he will ever accept a Car Shield repair order again.

Purchased the warranty service due to the age of the vehicle I am driving. They used every excuse to not cover the transmission work on my vehicle. I purchased the vehicle on 9/25/2020 at 99200 miles. With currently mileage as of today 9/9/2021 at 111000. Took my vehicle to Jiffy Lube for regular maintenance of an oil change. They offered transmission maintenance at the cost of over $500 of which you are not expecting when you go in there. So they documented that I refused service. Manufacturer recommended service is after every 30000 miles.
I had not driven the vehicle 30000 miles to warrant a service on the transmission. And CarShield/Autoshield HELD ON TO THAT ONE STATEMENT to avoid paying the claim. They kept saying that it was MY RESPOSNIBILITY to get the previous maintenance records from the previous owner. No dealer will give prior owners maintenance records. These people are nothing but thieves and scam artists. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Save yourself your money and don't bother to waste your time with these pigs!

I call to change my due date and inquire about the Flyer I received in the mail. Shortly after I received an email stating something different from what I was quoted. Call back and spoke to a gentleman who stated everything has been taken care of. Shortly after that I received an email stating I had Cancel my order. I made a double payment on 8/25 and 8/26/21, due to not receiving an confirmation email of the first payment, so I assumed it did not go through. When I checked my account I notice I make two payment. Right then I call and was transferred to 4 different customer representatives. When I spoke with the rep with regards to the ignition key switch for my vehicle, she said the part was covered. The Ford service rep called me the next business day and told me the complete opposite. This is approximately the third time since I’ve been paying you my hard earned money, that you’ve denied my claims. Had to figure out where the phone number was on the App to call the representative. Once that was figured out, it was easygoing. The representative was cordial. Quick to respond to each question. But, because it was early in the morning, around 5:30 am, it would have taken 2 hours for the tow to get to me, per the representative. That was the only drawback. If I would have been in a dark Timbuktu Road, that would have been very dangerous when in a car alone.

My 2018 Chevrolet Colorado developed a shudder in it. Called Car Shield. Was told to have it evaluated. Chevy dealer here in Scranton Pa. doesn't honor your warranty. Was told to take it to a transmission garage 55 miles away. Never told to have it towed..Garage told your rep. what it needed to repair correctly. Car Shield denied total repair stating it had additional damage due to driving it to garage. That appears to be your company's back door escape no to pay the total repair cost. Have spoken to several other customers who were told the same thing. Honor your contract. Right now your word and reputation are not worth much. see all my other comments. I am satisfied with the services I received from the representative. We'll see if my claim is paid before I submit a glowing review of CarShield. The last time I had to have auto repair after I was supposedly "covered" by my extended coverage policy, I in fact had to pay out over $400.00 in repairs because the particular plan I had purchased wasn't big enough to cover the expenses incurred.

Would not pay for replacement of the calibers because they said they were corroded. As I read the contract it does not get that specific. In my opinion it there way of not paying for it. I am a new member and this is my first claim.

Have not had a problem with them at all the whole time I’ve been with Car Shield. I have a 2012 KIA Sorento with 100,115 miles. KIA had to replace my motor so I had to record my mileage per the new motor.

Great protection for your car! I’ve been with CarShield for about two years. I’m very pleased with them. I’ve only had one claim that they did not approve but mostly everything else was covered. I would recommend them to a friend and the price is reasonable.

I was very pleased with Car Shield and would obtain coverage again. When your warranty runs out you need car shield because your car will break down. All mechanical things break down after time. Make the smart choice and get car shield.

I was calling to get a better experience of my coverage with Carshield. I was transferred and didn't get what I was looking for but got some kind of info that I needed. I think I may have asked where they may have misunderstood the issue.

I wanted to find out the status of my claim for my Chevy Trax at Hendrix Chevrolet. They gave me the information that I needed. I was able to follow up with the service center. It was all very helpful.

I drive a very reliable 11 year old Ford Fusion with only 45K miles on it. I decided to purchase the Carshield Diamond plan about 10 months ago. After 10 months and no problems, I thought that I was wasting money and a few days ago cancelled my plan. This afternoon I needed to go to the pharmacy and (you guessed it) my car wouldn't start. I called Carshield and restarted my policy. Next Monday, my car will be towed to the dealership and repaired under my plan. Thank you Carshield for being so accomodating, and thank you also to to your very helpful customer service staff for making this so easy.

I called because my August payment is late. I'm in between jobs and the Agent understood and schedule my late payment. Great customer service. I appreciate the understanding. CarShield is the best. I tell all my friends and family about the services and the product that I purchased all the ti.

Replaced at Ford Dealer and see could be covered but paid at pick up and then called CarShield. Told had to have prior authorization so will not pay. Not happy. Felt would pay and since they didn’t call I am screwed.

I called to check on my current claim. Customer service rep was able to assist me on that issues and updates me on them. They assure me that they will take care of me with the rental car being extended. I also got a update on my transmission.

I called to see if my DEF pump on my truck is covered, I talked to a young lady named Rachel was very kind and polite, but she was not sure white did the pump was or what it would be under, she tried her best, and even sent me information to look up myself, I still don’t know if the pump is covered or if I can even Rental car, if anybody can help me on this please call me at ** or **.

I was not sure if Car Shield would cover my radiator, but I called them and they stated that it was covered. The job was close to $700 dollars, but with Car Shield all I had to pay was the $100 dollar deductible. I highly recommend Car Shield if your Manufacturer's warranty has expired!

Overall good experience. Only issue is time it took for final approval (over a week) and not covering nuts and bolts which seems petty and cheap. My repair facility had to submit written estimate, wait for someone to review it, then told an inspector has to come out who did not show first time and then when approved was told do not cover nuts and bolts.

I call to see abt my account on 8/26/2021. I don’t know why she said what she put on my account when I have paid my money for my car just to give my money up free. I’m on a fix income. If something happens to my car what am I gonna do.

I was a little bit short this month and was able to schedule a double payment in the near future, but into next month, The representative with whom I spoke was extremely courteous and helpful in resolving my issue. Highly recommend CarShield to anyone who wants or needs automobile failure coverage.
