Their warranty is a joke and they will not honor it. I will be going to the Better Business Bureau as well as posting on every social media possible. Multiple reasons for an engine light to come on, mine on due to the bolts on the manifold. The 3rd cylinder on my truck misfired but a certified Dodge mechanic from out of state said he believed it could need a tune up and my plugs were bad possibly. Like anyone, would know and believe, this does not constitute a tow. I made an appointment to the Dodge dealer where I near where I reside in another state so that I would not be stranded and traveling two states out to deal with a possible spark plug issue which anyone with basic knowledge of a spark plug would do.
Upon thorough inspection and covers removed it was determined that the issue was greater. My truck is in the shop for a crush lifter that cause shavings from the cam throughout the engine. This company Carshield/Autoshield is now saying because I didn't have my vehicle towed from out of state or while out of state, to a local mechanic who I don't know or I stay several hours from, I basically caused more damage to my engine and they will only give me a tenth of what the actual engine cost is to repair. That tenth is to only fix the 3rd cylinder while shavings continue to circulate in the engine to do what? Break down again and I'll be back to doing another post. STUPIDITY!!
This is after the Dodge dealership showed the adjuster the regulations that if oil was located in certain spots regardless, the engine needed to be replaced. Initially after talking to claims, they wanted to just pay for the cylinder repair only and leave everything else as is. Make it make sense!! The escalation claims rep was very unprofessional which really amped me up. And because he's a mechanic and can distinguish a misfire from a spark plug needing replaced or a tune up due, this is the validation that he is using for me to have my truck towed because he would have known. I guess everyone in America is a mechanic now, so why would we need diagnosis or certified mechanics to tell us what's wrong with our vehicles?
By the way, the rental in the policy is a joke as it only covers the labor of the repairs. I would love to see a diagnosis and repair done within 4 hours which is what they are trying to say the rental covers. Sincerely disgruntled and I will definitely be sharing this throughout the rest of the months. These are all facts that just happened today. Every Soldier for the next year will hear about this prior to me speaking at a graduation. I promise you flyers will go up on every base I pass by on the walls in the Soldier Support Centers as well as Army Community Services offices, as well as to some of the hundreds of Officers I've trained through Virginia to brief their formations to stay away from this organization. RLTW!!!

I phoned Car Shield to find out if and when I would be receiving membership cards and information. I was told that an email could be sent immediately. I opted for the info to be sent via U.S. Mail. I was told it would be about 15-20 days before I would receive the requested info in the mail.

Was told when ordering that cost would be $89/month as in flyer. Ordered 8/27/21. Was billed $138.60 at that time and since on was charged $138.60 on 9/27/21. Called 9/27 spoke to Zemetra. She worked with me so the payment for October will be $89.99 plus tax.

Chase normally pays my account once monthly and for some reason did not pay it for September. Gave needed information to your person so that it was paid and she will send information to Chase so that it will be paid monthly.

I am a new customer. I haven't had any car troubles yet. So far I've had good experiences when speaking with customer support service providers. I was happy to see it did not take me a long time to get in touch with a live representative. I feel the representatives I've spoken to genuinely cared and strived to help me. However, my most recent call was to upgrade my coverage from Gold to Diamond. I was told a supervisor will review my request and the representative will get back to me within 3 to 5 days. It has been an entire week and unfortunately they have still not called back. Hope to receive a call soon.

My former debit card was stolen. So I had to replace the stolen card with a new card. It took a little time and I knew it would interfere with why the payment was due. I received an email about difficulty in getting payment so I called immediately. The transition with your representative and smooth and Uneventful. Just took a few minutes then everything was back to normal. Thank you for such efficient workers. So easy to talk to and to understand. Thank you again.

Car Shield responded to me immediately when I realized my car needed repaired. The auto dealership contacted Car Shield, arrangements were made between Car Shield and the auto dealership to repair my vehicle, with no added stress to myself. When I retrieved my car after the repair work was done, I needed only to pay my deductible, and leave with my repaired vehicle. I greatly appreciate how easy it was to accomplish. No runaround. Axle replacement not covered due to being ripped. I don't understand how one is supposed to know prior to ripping unless there is an issue. I only took my vehicle in for an inspection to keep up on things and found out I needed a new axle. I've only had the car for about a year. I am on a fixed income still the monthly payment for the gold package is really a hardship for me not to mention the $350 I now owe the mechanic. I am not pleased and probably will look at other options for warranty.

When I called today, I paid my monthly payment, and then transferred to Customer Service. I intended to end my contract. The representative politely asked me the reason, I explained that a couple of months ago my car needed service. CarShield declined the problem saying that it was for a moving part. I think almost all things are moving on a car. She then explained the situation in a way that I understood, she offered me a lower monthly payment. I asked what does it cover, I had not received a contract, she explained many things that are important, I then decided to keep my contract, she proceeded to get authorization, I am staying with CarShield. My car is a 2002 S80 Volvo, so you know it is an older model. I believe that I will be able to use this policy after all. I have received the Confirmation of Coverage and am satisfied with the arrangement that has been made. Contract #**. Thank you. Joyce **.

It took 3 weeks from day submitted to car return. Over 2 weeks until approval and it still cost us out of pocket $1526 which was crazy. And only 3 day car rental at end. Very disappointed in the service. Not at all what I expected.

I feel it's a bait and switch company, I have a car issue, and claims are doing everything in their power to deny my claim, I called 3 times and got no call back, shop called a few times and no response, I called and asked for a manager, that was a joke, beware people, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I have had the Car shield warranty for about 3 months on my new vehicle. This month I happened to notice a leak coming from my vehicle. There is a leak coming from a part I was told that was covered. It just so happen I was having the car looked at the next day by a personal mechanic and he happened to mention the leak. I called car shield and explained, they told me it might be covered but in order to do the claim, the car has to be at the shop. I take the vehicle to the shop only to find out there is a leak on top of my control arms being broken. Fine control arms are apparently wear and tear, however the leak is not. THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT DUE TO ONE SIMPLE PART. This job cost me over 1,000 just to get done.
At this point I am furious and want to cancel the policy. I go to call and cancel and I am greeted by a VERY RUDE REPRESENTATIVE who just wants to go back and forth with me arguing over a warranty. She never even cancelled the policy. I hung up on this women and called back. I got a man who was nice and "seemed" like he wanted to help but ultimately, I haven't even heard from him. This company cares only for your money and barely wants to cover anything.... I would not recommend.

Your reps were patient and knowledgeable. Rather than going to replaced debit card, we changed for debiting checking account with payments remaining on 18th beginning in October. September payment was authorized for today from checking account. I appreciate your call and kindness.

The repair facility were unable to contact the adjuster/appraisal. Phone calls or emails of the repair estimate were never returned. I wouldn’t recommend this contract service to anyone. I will report it to the BBB. Car Shield or American auto doesn’t have the customer best interest. My truck has been at the repair facility since 08-16-2021 - 09-21-2021. I don’t know why car shield doesn’t want to cover the repairs.

I been trying to upload a claim for the last 3 hours and keep getting a server error. Internal Server Error. "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator at webmaster@americanautoshield.com to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log." Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. You all need someone that can fix it. Thanks. Frederick

Wrong answers and bad attitudes from some of the personnel. I questioned their integrity, knowledge and customer services. The previous personnel, failed and ruined your Company's reputation. My call was to about billing and payment accommodations. Lisa was the customer service representative. She knew how how to first listen to her customer to figure out how she help me. When she heard about what my issue was she quickly adjusted my account to best fit my needs.

When I talked to the person who set up our contract, he indicated that there were two policies, one Gold and one Aluminum. He "promised the world" on covered charges. I've asked Tiffany (our conversation today) to send me an email denoting specific coverages for each plan.

The problem I have with Car Shield is the car rental portion of the contract. That put me in a very bad situation and when I first sign up with Car Shield the car rental was not clearly explained to me. I really felt it wasn't fair.

When I hear the TV commercials, it made me think of something that I needed, so I started my coverage about 6 months ago. My 2012 Ford Focus started to leak water at a rapid pace and it got to a place where it could not hold much water and the next thing the head gasket blew and the engine was no good. I have notified CarShield customer service many times only to be turned down for coverage. The mechanic at the garage told Carshield that the car had a blown head gasket and according to CarShield policy, there is no coverage for blown head gasket. But the truth of the matter is the water pump needed replaced, but it happened so fast the engine was affected.

It's just the nature of the beast. If CarShield covered more problems they probably wouldn't make much profit. But, after several expensive break downs and none of them being covered, it just wasn't for me. Definitely a buyer beware product. You get what you pay for sometimes.

The policy did not cover anything electrical that leaves a lot on the table for no coverage. Transmissions have lots of solenoids that fail mechanically and they will decline the repair if this happens to your transmission. Car Shield does not care about you as a customer or the repair shop. Their goal is to find a way to decline the repair.

For close to decade I’ve paid for this warranty and I’ve used it once. But the one time I needed to use it they had a loophole in place to made sure it wouldn’t be covered. Before doing that their customer service lied to me and blamed the dealership. Keep saying someone would call me but never did. To make it worse they said I had coverage to cover extra and when I got there to make sure and try and use, they said that policy never existed. When they see all the notes for the call backs and clarification they didn’t call me back one time. Don’t waste your money with this horrible company.

I brought my car to the dealer on July 9, 2021 and it was there until July 29th, 2021. Carshield was very difficult to deal with. They ran me around for weeks. I cancelled the contract because they really sucked and I made it known. I have been after them for weeks now to get my rental car reimbursed and still haven't done to help me. I wanted my money refunded and I was told, "We don't do that." Customers service was terrible and I have told my friends not to buy carshield. Nothing but trouble and lies. I just want my money refunded and the 220.00 they caused me to spend because the battery went bad.

This company is as closer to a scam as one can be. They email 5 times a day if they don’t get their payment within ONE day, yet actually cover NOTHING that they state the warrantee will, such as Valve cover gaskets and more. My first claim. Engine overheating. I paid to replace thermostat hose engine sensor. Truck still running hot. Mechanic stated to you and me that radiator is failing. You refused to replace it. Radiator also cools oil pump and transmission. I will have to drive it anyhow since I was told the radiator was covered but you refuse. If it overheats again the radiator will go and the engine transmission and oil pump as well. This will be on you. I called before I brought it in and was told radiator WAS covered and you have refused both to me and the repair company. I paid for the items not covered. VERY DISSATISFIED. They don’t know if it’s been delivered to the shop! Poorest service ever. Garage owner is upset because he needs the lift for other customers. Purchased the warranty service due to the age of the vehicle I am driving. They used every excuse to not cover the transmission work on my vehicle. I purchased the vehicle on 9/25/2020 at 99200 miles. With currently mileage as of today 9/9/2021 at 111000. Took my vehicle to Jiffy Lube for regular maintenance of an oil change. They offered transmission maintenance at the cost of over $500 of which you are not expecting when you go in there. So they documented that I refused service. Manufacturer recommended service is after every 30000 miles.
I had not driven the vehicle 30000 miles to warrant a service on the transmission. And CarShield/Autoshield HELD ON TO THAT ONE STATEMENT to avoid paying the claim. They kept saying that it was MY RESPOSNIBILITY to get the previous maintenance records from the previous owner. No dealer will give prior owners maintenance records. These people are nothing but thieves and scam artists. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Save yourself your money and don't bother to waste your time with these pigs!

Perfection in every way. When I called the first woman was clear and nice and passed me to the next main agent immediately. Then the man I spoke with handled all my questions quickly and efficiently. I am 100% satisfied and not unpleasantly surprised at all.

The experience been great. They handle the claim very great. They answered all my questions. I have no problem with CarShield. I was highly recommended to anybody else to use this company. I brag to my friends and my family about the customer service I receive a card show. Everything's been great and I will continue to use them.

Your representative was polite and professional but I have not received my contract yet! It’s been 3 weeks but no contract yet! I asked for it to be mailed to my home address. I was told expect the contract within a week!

Our overall experience has been less than great. Too much wrong information given to us this week. Today I was hung up on, and when I called back the rep was rude. Thank goodness Jamie H answered on the 3rd call. She was very courteous and professional and actually helped. She restored our faith in CS. Above and beyond care. She actually helped!!!!

I had questions. The lady was so nice and understanding. She also made sure I was informed with everything. I was really happy with everything. She went above and beyond for me and made sure everything was in order. I was able to hear her and she made sure she was hearing me. I couldn’t ask for a wonderful person like her.

There are no issues. The young lady was great. I have no complaints. I would love to be able to make my payments online by signing up on the website, but was unable to make an account. Maybe next month will be able to sign in online.

Alex was great at explaining my warranty and also helping me understand my vehicle. He gave me info on towing and other mechanic in my area and also listen to me rant on about how the mechanic was a terrible person and how he wouldn’t call my warranty. It was a terrible experience until I talk to Alex the rep!!!! Thank you for making this experience better Alex. Keep up the great work!!!

We cancelled our subscription because we found out we had a dealership warranty for the next 49000 miles. There was nothing wrong with the product. When we contacted Carshield they were pleasant, friendly and professional. They told us exactly what we needed to do in order to cancel and possibly get a refund.

Was refunded my down payment as well as a prorated amt. Paid for my policy upon cancellation within one week. Would recommend Carshield to a friend but make sure the dealer you prefer accepts this warranty service. Customer service representatives were very patient and helpful.

When I tell you my customer service rep was fanstastic. He was. He listened and offered real solutions! I was so not expecting that. He reviewed my plan, advised me of what the process entails and how to use my coverage and what to expect. I know I made the right choice.

I made a double payment on 8/25 and 8/26/21, due to not receiving an confirmation email of the first payment, so I assumed it did not go through. When I checked my account I notice I make two payment. Right then I call and was transferred to 4 different customer representatives. The last rep told me to email customer service and I would get my refund quicker, only to find out that customer service email me back wanting me to call them. I called and spoke with Sarah and was informed she sent it to her manager Justin and I should receive it within 3-5 business days.

When purchasing my contract over the phone the sales rep did not disclose the fact that their mandatory diagnostic testing would not be covered if they refused to pay for the work on the car that is needed. I am now out over $200.00 To get my car out of the shop! The contract was not in front of me at the time, I had to wait for my contract to arrive in the mail.

I called to cancel my coverage with Car Shield because my personal monthly budget could not support the monthly payments. The representative was very helpful and able to give me a rate that fits much better within my monthly budget. My experience was very awesome, Amanda help me with my payment for a bill that was coming up. Amanda help me with courteous, with a smile over the phone, and was very helpful. I would definitely recommend anybody who is interested in purchasing a CarShield insurance with the company. I was not told that the dealership had ONE SHOT to diagnose the issue with my vehicle and any other issues would be declined. No ethical service department works this way! Now I'm in a hospital with Covid, a 2 year Diamond warranty I've paid for 2 years and a claim you refuse to work with a representative from the dealership on and a $4000 bill. I am spreading the word as quickly as I can about this scam.
