    This warranty is advertised as you can take it to any shop/dealership and they will take it. Not a single shop or dealership had any interest in working with them. Useless warranty. I want a full refund.

    Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 16 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $3 million in claims every month. If you need help finding other shops in your area, please give us a call.

    I submitted my complaint to the Better Business Bureau and tonight I will submit my complaint to Yelp and Google and give it as much publicity as possible. American Auto Shield failed to honor their part of the contract. After $1600 of out of pocket car repair expense my vehicle is now in worse condition than when I brought it in to The Auto Repair shop, Joe's Auto Repair, than when I originally brought it in over one month ago. Read the claim # above for further details.

    Its Customer Service job run interference between customers and adjuster. They are put in a bad position; they provided little to no service to contract holders. The coverage is a farce. The contract is written for legal to declare exceptions while adjusters dispense judgements based on false assertions.

    I purchased an extended warranty from CarShield a year ago and recently had issues with my car which required costly maintenance. Car Shield says you can take the car to any certified repair shop and they will take care of things. So I had the car taken to the dealer I bought it from for the work and they stated that they would not work with Car Shield due to bad dealings with them in the past. SO I looked for other repair shops that would do the work and the nearest one was 50 miles away from my home.

    I live in the Hampton Roads area and there are certified repair shops on every street. But the closest I could find with a Car Shield Reps help that would work with them was 50 miles away. This is a very big misrepresentation of their coverage of repairs. Also it was stated that how they pay is over the phone by company credit card and that they must approve of repairs before the shop is authorized to do them. I paid $129.00 dollars a month for a full year with zero help when I needed it so I discontinued my coverage. So my advice is if you buy a car get the extended warranty. It may cost you more but you won't get screwed in the end. I chalk this up to a bad investment to ensure for repairs with a company based on fraud. Now I'm out 1290 dollars with zero to show for it. Never again Car Shield!!

    I need to take my car to a shop to have them check out a loud roaring grinding noise while I was driving.     My car became disabled on November 26th, 2021 while on the interstate and out of town. Within 2 hours, the vehicle was towed to the Ford dealer for repair. It took the dealer a couple hours to get our vehicle in and diagnose whereas the water pump was bad and in need of replacement. On this same day a claim was processed with CarShield. On 12-02-21 the Carshield appraiser inspected our vehicle at the dealership advising he's have resolved on the 3rd...the next day.

    On 12-03-21 P.M., I called and spoke to Andre who state it is normally 24 to 48 hrs before they authorize claim/repair. He assured me he would call me and the shop once approved...I never again heard from Andre!? 12-07-21 I was notified by my repairer that the claim was finally approved whereas the dealer could then order the required parts. 12-15-21 I was notified that the repair was completed. Our vehicle was in the shop for 20 days. 12-17-21 I called Carshiled and spoke to Tripoli regarding rental reimbursement. She advised all they owe for is the labor time to make repair of 2 days at $40.00 per day!

    While I am pleased that CarShield covered the claim (which they should have) however, I am displeased as it was CarShieled that caused the delay of 20 days by delaying their decision to cover the claim and this caused a delay in ordering the necessary parts. I've incurred over 20 days loss of use and they only wish to provide 2-days of rental!? This is unacceptable.

    Furthermore, upon completion of repair I was notified by my repairer that although the appraiser had agreed with everything on the repair estimate and agreed to pay for everything (except shop materials!?), however, after the repair was completed, CarShield provided my repairer an amount $120.00 less than previously agreed upon of which the repairer absorbed as to not break their promise to me. I find this totally unacceptable and encourage CarShield to pay my repairer the amount they had agreed to when approving the repair. I would also like to be compensated for the loss of use of my vehicle during the delays caused by CarShield's staff. In final; While I have received dozens of calls to purchase CarShield coverage, I am disappointed that I was never contacted by CarShield relative to my claim until this request for a review/rating. Even after I called claims and was promised a call back the next day, I never received a call!

    As a past Senior Claim Adjuster for a well known national auto insurer I find this unacceptable and the customer service less than satisfactory. To bypass the customer and deal only with the repairer...and to then underpay the repairer is not good business practices. While I hope to have no further claims, I am hopeful that if and when I do, it will be a better experience. I look forward to discussing my concerns with a CarShield representative who has the desire and authority to correct these issues so CarShield can provide optimum service to its clients.

    I called back in October, spoke to a lady who said she would get my due changed. That never happened because on November 19th money was pulled from account when it shouldn’t have been pulled until the 29th. I then called back. Spoke to another lady whom mentioned that the previous lady never put my due date change in. This lady then assured me it’ll be changed. I called on November 29th (Black Friday). Spoke to a gentleman who offered me a promotion to lower my monthly payments. I asked him if he could confirm with me when my monthly due dates were, wasn’t the 29th of each month which is what they were supposed to be. So here I am 3 people in and it still hasn’t been taken care of.

    Well about a week ago, I called. Spoke to a lady who then mentioned they had never received my payment for November. I told the amount definitely came out of account and asked her if my due date change was changed on my account. No it wasn’t, so here we are again!!!! Person after person and they still can’t get it right!!!! At this point I’m ready to just cancel my coverage and concern someone else because customer service is just absolutely trash!!!! I then called today to make a payment and the guy I spoke to says my due change won’t go into effect until January when it should be this month.
