Transmission went out in my 08 Hummer H3. They approved my repair however they’re going to replace it with a used transmission. Not even rebuilt and it will only have a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty. They Will Not replace it with a transmission from GM that will be rebuilt and have a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. To make matters worse when the transmission arrived at the dealership it was for the the wrong year. CarShield is saying the adjuster has 24 -48 hrs to review where they sent out the wrong part then make a decision on what happens next.
I was told if they send out another transmission it will take 6 days to arrive. That means I will have to keep my rental at least 8-9 more days and I am left paying out of pocket for a rental car to date for three weeks (the time it’s taken for the claim) and will only be reimbursed for 7 days even with them sending out the wrong part. They're telling me the contact only pays for 7 days rental. I have to pay for their mistake and risk having them replace my transmission with a used one. That is a major part and should be replaced with a like new part. My vehicle has less than 140,000 miles and is excellent condition. I will be afraid to drive my vehicle with a used transmission. I will absolutely not be referring CarShield to anyone and would advise people to go with another warranty company. Unhappy customer Y. **.
We're sorry that you feel this way. Our claims administrators replace parts with new, used, remanufactured parts of like kind and quality and are good, quality parts. This is explained in your contract. Claims guarantees our part for the life of your contract as well. Rental is just an added benefit to your policy and not something additional you pay to have on the contract, so there are limitations to it. It is only given in accordance with the verified labor time needed to do the repairs, plus the additional for having to send out a different part. Great company. Didn’t get to use the service. Car was totally loss a couple of months after getting the service. The company was easy to reach and communicated clearly and responded to requests and answered all of my questions. They also were quick to refund money for unused services

I paid for over a year for the diamond plan. The advertisement says take it to the place of your choice. Guess what, they no longer accept CarShield because they won't pay claims. The dealership suggested I pay and ask CarShield to reimburse me. I called and checked and was told they would, just make sure the claim was authorized. NOW they don't want to pay. The employees give the incorrect information on their recorded line. They will not go back and verify it by checking the call. CarShield says it's my problem. They will take your money and you won't get anything for it. I asked to speak to a manager and was transferred to a disconnected number. They have an "F" rating with the BBB.
Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 17 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month. If you need help finding other shops in your area, please give us a call. As far as getting the cost of repairs being reimbursed, it does clearly state on the bottom of every page of the contract that no claims will be paid without prior authorization, so without the shop calling in the claim first and getting it approved, there would be nothing we can do to reimburse you for that. The person who I spoke with was very informative and explained a lot to me. He explained the coverage is effective in 20 days from the day I spoke with him. The share I will have to pay for any repairs is only $100.00. If I wanted to insure another vehicle the discount I would receive.

Air conditioning not working and Car Shield contacted to provide service. Fix the air condition. Spoke with a female employee that assisted me. She gave me the site as to what mechanic would honor Car Shield. I found a place close to where I live. Mechanic called and they related they honor Car Shield. Took the car the next day. The mechanic took care of calling the people to get authorization to fix car. The company had the car about a week and half. The part had to be sent by Car Shield. Received my car and it is working well. Just had to pay the deductible.

Called to find out if I can transfer car to different mechanic. The mechanic I took my car to has not fixed my car and it keeps coming up with the same error code for the second time. CarShield is paying for my car and they should have fixed it.

When I get a new car, I plan on getting a new policy. I didn't have to use the warranty but it felt good knowing I had it to lean on if I needed it. I canceled because I have an old car so if necessary I will just get a new car.

Only that Carshield seems to not pay for most of the services that I have claim. Most repair shops have pretty negative things to say about carshield as for as getting pay for service. It's almost like having nothing at all.

These guys are great. I got a plan I could afford for my 2006 Porsche Cayenne S, these guys cover the power train, engine and roadside service and it was cheap but my wife did not like the fact that we would be paying for a car that we don’t drive that much and is a weekend car, that we would be wasting money, which made sense, so I called to cancel the plan, had no issues with the customer service refunding my money and Cancelling my contract, I will recommend them against any other company out there! Happy and will use in future!!!! GREAT!

I didn't know the exact mileage on my car so I'm having a hard time getting my car fixed so I don't know if I would recommend this one to anyone else. I told the man that I wasn't sure what the mileage was because I was riding with my husband at the time I took the policy out and I was working two jobs and I am only human and forgot to call because my first job you can't have your phone in the patient rooms.

Our engine needs to be replaced and they need oil changes we have done in the past years. Autoshield is not satisfied with the receipts, giving us the runaround for many weeks and will not help at all. We take care of our car.
We do apologize to hear this. We did review your claim, and unfortunately, the service history you sent in did not have a VIN number on it, so there is no way to verify that those records were for the vehicle in question. Our vehicle's Air Conditioning (AC) quit working. It was in-explainable at first, until we found out the system had a leak towards the back and the front fan quit working. We are so thankful CarShield worked with our dealership mechanic and provided their help with the cost. It is our only vehicle and we have to commute 25 miles to get to our home.

First of all I was told by a major car dealership in Texas not to deal with this Car Shield. To keep my peace, I need tie rod replacement and I have the Diamond coverage which means they are covered. But when I called to check they said I’m not covered for that. So I paid for it myself but I checked again they said I should’ve been covered. I sent in the invoice of the repair and a couple days later I checked to see if they received the receipt. And they told me no. Once I was told that I knew there was going to be a problem. So I sent it again just like I felt there was the problem. I was denied my reimbursement due to all their technicality on repair. To keep my peace I’m going to just move on. I wouldn’t recommend this company and I’m tired of seeing all their commercial. I should’ve listen to my dealership.

We called Car Shield and the service person was great. Both a man and a woman we spoke to were very helpful. The problem was in getting a towing company to respond and tow our vehicle to the dealership. In the meantime, our neighbor came over and with his help, he got our vehicle started so we could drive it. We then had to cancel the towing company and did not use your service.

When I called, the service rep was very helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure that everything was covered. In fact, she even helped me with the finding of other service facilities. The only thing was that all of the facilities were closed and would not open for 2 days. Other than that, I had no other issues with CarShield or the service representative.

I received another late payment notice. I advised Rep that this was to be corrected last month. Rep will look into it. I am on auto pay for the 10th of the month. Rep said she doesn't know why this wasn't corrected last month. They are going to look into the system.

My bank changed its name to Old National Bank, and the information on some of my accounts didn’t transfer. Car Shield was one them. Customer service and customer service for payments were the departments that assisted me with changing my information. Both representatives were very people-friendly and made me feel so at ease throughout our conversation.

Cooling system went out on my cooling system the wiring system went out connect to the cooling system. And y'all said y'all wouldn't fix it because it's not a part of my contract. I opened a new feature. Y'all do better about your customer and just not a contract.

Had a good experience with CarShield but ended up paying $619.00 out of my pocket. CarShield rep said they should never be cash out of my pocket but car repair shop said that’s what car shield said to charge me. Car repair shop also didn’t talk too highly about CarShield and I didn’t have a option to take it to the dodge dealership, was limited to two repair shops in my area.

Not everything was covered but I did save a few bucks. I was told bolts were not covered. Nor were the controllers covered. Only the engine mounts. The controllers near engine mounts required another $830. I decided not to have controllers done.

Water pump went out so called Carshield and going good. Very happy. Towing me to repair shop sun auto. Going to work on a rental till Tuesday. I will recommend Carshield to all my friends and family. Very dependable and gets it fixed. No problem at all. Thank you Carshield.

I purchased a warranty with CarShield under the impression that my current coverage was going to lapse only to find out that I still had 2 more years on it. I called CarShield to cancel my warranty since I really didn't need it at this time and was very pleased with the ease of doing this. I especially liked that the representation took the time to explain to me exactly what I was covered for and what I would be giving up and to make sure I would have the same coverage under my present coverage. I was very happy and impressed with this.

The Southampton Village Police came to help me because my car had suddenly registered over-heating and I was not about to move it. Although CarShied guarantees towing, I used AAA, and had AAA's Hampton's service tow my incapacitated car to the BMW dealership which services my car, and AAA reimbursed me for the towing which Car Shied would have been responsible for.

My 75yr old mom has CarShield. Her timing chain broke. Called carshield to get it fixed. They WILL NOT FIX IT!!! They said she drove it 100 miles after it broke. **!!! Took my vehicle to my Ford dealer for work. Asked them if they took Car Shield for the payment of the repairs. Was told they will not accept Car Shield as it takes 6 to 7 months for Car Shield to pay them. This is the 2nd Ford dealer that refused to honor Car Shield. I intend to drop Car Shield and go with another, more reputable company.
Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. It does not take 6-7 months for us to pay the shop. We pay immediately preceding repairs, over the phone with a company credit card. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 17 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month. If you need help finding other shops in your area, please give us a call.

Went to shop. My repair was denied. It was ac/electrical (blower motor resistor $365+ cost). First time in shop. First claim for things advertised in commercial. Disappointed. The only reason I'm keeping is My bf said to give it a chance. I'm like you pay it them.

After not receiving a discount on my catalytic converter failure, I was hesitant when my mechanic submitted the list of items that needed repaired on my Jeep. When he called me, he said he was pleasantly surprised when he received the list of items that would be covered. He hadn't had much luck with a previous client who had one of the other vehicle protection companies. Car Shield covered items that I didn't expect them to cover, including the rental car, front and back brakes, water pump assembly with everything that was associated and saved me thousands of dollars. The local Cadillac dealership would not honor the CarShield warranty. They found another dealer who would. I was told they had problems receiving payments from CarShield. I’ll have to take my car to a company in another city. It’s not too far away.

I'm paying $160/month for 2 cars for 2 years, but CarShield can't even cover my AC when it broke down in the middle of summer at 100°F heat. Their explanation was that they don't cover the relay which makes the AC runs! This is insane! In my contract, it shows that the AC is covered but NOT the parts that keeps this AC running. That doesn't make sense, but that's how they make money. The trick is this: they "cover" the expensive parts that take longer, years, to break down. By then, they already made profits from you. And they don't cover the less expensive parts which breaks down very often. Smart, right. Anyways. I ended up paying out of my pocket close to $130 to replace a $40 relay on top of $80/month. You do the math...
We're sorry that you feel this way. The amount of coverage you get is dependent on your specific vehicle's year, make, model and mileage. Your vehicle may just have been too old or had too many miles on it when you signed up to qualify for those specific components to be covered. When my car was being repaired they held it for over 4 days I had to pay for a rental car at Enterprise rental service, because the labor time fell short one minute. Totally ridiculous to be denied for just one minute.

I’m very disappointed in the amount that Carshield covered. I’ve had extended car warranties before and I’ve never had to pay that much of the total for a car repair. I will be going with a different warranty company soon.

I thought they paid total amount of repairs after copay, not true there are things that go along with repair to make you whole again they don't pay for, which leave out of pocket. You need 500 miles first. They don't go by the day your service starts in 20 days. Liars. They told me my service starts July 11th. Nothing about mileage beginning. They did not honor my warranty. What else do they deny you about when you really need them.

This company is true to their word. I’ve covered my vehicles with CarShield in the past and never had a problem getting my repairs done with only $100 deductible. Now, that, is peace of mind for people like myself who would be devastated with a car bill likes transmission. Heck, air-conditioning units could set you back. Have been unable to use this warranty because I have been unable to find a repair shop that accepts the Car Shield warranty. Have felt deceived by what I was initially told and what my paperwork described as my benefits. There was no hesitation to accept my payments while at the same time no effort was expended to resolve my issues with finding a local repair location.

In the past 3 yrs this is the first time I've had to contact anyone from CarShield. Rep was very helpful, polite and professional. If I could make changes to my address and reoccurring payment method via my online account, I wouldn't have needed to call in today.

I had it for over a year. My car went to the shop twice in that time and they never paid a dime on any repairs. Would have been better to put that money in my savings account then I would have had enough money to pay for the repairs.

Your Personnel was proficient, kind, willing to listen and help. Your Driver was very friendly, knowledgeable, & professional. All your staff, office as well as driver, if they said they would call back or put me on hold for whatever reason, they would return with explanation on whatever issue they may be dealing with. I was calling to cancel because I couldn't afford the payments. The agent was able to cut my payments in half! I was very grateful because I am on a small disability pension. This has made a huge difference in my life. I no longer have to stress out every month when I try to set up my budget.

I received a flyer stating a Gold plan for $89 a month. I told the man I wanted the Gold plan. He said, "That will be $144." I said, "I have a flyer here that says $89." He says, “Oh, you have the discounted rate.” Then he said he’d send me a contract and he never did. I had to call and ask for it again. I have to wait 24 hours to see if they withdrew the correct amount.

CarShield's computer overcharged me on July 2022 $107.17. This is on my WSECU checking account. I have talked to customer service 2 times to get a refund, which they refuse to give. They told me once a payment is made it cannot be refunded. If I do not receive a refund, I will close my account with CArshield and give my business to someone more honest.

CARSHIELD helped the auto shop to find a radio to replace the one that I had in my car. It was serviced and there were issues with it not working correctly so after talking back to carshield back-and-forth they were able to help me remedy the problem. Their service person was very helpful.

I had a great experience with CarShield, I found a shop that accepts it and in no time my car was done and ready to be picked up. I think it was less than a day that my car was in the shop. Fast approval on parts and very little out of pocket costs, thank you CarShield.

I took my truck to the dealer to change the oil, rotate tires, change filters. They went ahead to do a safety check and found some very dangerous items needing attention. I did not want to break down somewhere so... I asked them to submit to Auto Shield. I never heard from Honda dealer until I was told the truck was ready for P/U. Never had an issue.

The shop that has my truck is calling and they are not getting any response. They are trying to get the parts before they deplete the stock and it becomes a backorder. ADAM IS THE AGENT. WE NEED A RESPONSE. They are waiting on him to respond. They have been calling and leaving messages. The shop is A1 Automotive Repair (1770-412-9924). Some parts are real hard to purchase.

I wasn't going to use the plan I purchased 2 years ago. So I asked for a refund. I got half of my money back. They made over $650 off me for nothing. Alexis the customer service representative was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Was off the track something electronically-I was told I had to have it repaired then submit the bill. The other thing was the air conditioner only blew hot air. Needed Freon. Was told at a different repair garage, you didn’t cover that. I’m glad I have coverage but haven’t figured out what you cover yet.

I called customer service just to have my due date changed because I forgot to leave enough money in my account for auto pay. The representative was very helpful and immediately changed the due date to the day I requested. Now my due date is right after my payday. No more overdraft fees!!!

I have had a rental car since Thursday July 7th. Never heard anything concerning the case of my car from CarShield. Still waiting. Not sure why I haven't heard anything. I just called the dealer and they just told me that CarShield will call me and that they just left.
We show that there was an inspection done, and claims is waiting on the inspection company to send in the inspection report. Once they receive that, they will be in contact with you on how to proceed.

The disposition was that the adjuster Chris H said as per his inspectors report that they would only provide me $1000 limited warranty parts or towards to the work because the inspector said the calls was due to the cylinder valve which is under Constant spring pressure and that though carbon build up was the only cause of the dead cylinder and it was not the lifter which was additionally stuck in the body of the cylinder rocker arm and pushrod assembly although the cylinder head could not be actuated in any position unless the lifter and rocker arm actuate the spring of the valve of the head. I ask for a second opinion regarding a inspector follow up. He refused to even consider it.
That was not any Level of customer service security as finding out the complete facts a.k.a. Circumventing the true value of my claim benefits/do not trust customer and will not verify misguided results of the inspector although the three (3) master mechanics at the dealership facility concur with my assertion being lifter related and not carbon buildup as I conveyed should be the cause of the dead cylinder which has no compression because the cylinder head won’t seat because of the lifter not being able to engage the rocker arm which opens the cylinder because of it being seized within the engine. In addition inspector never even took out and examined the lifter. My car has been in the shop waiting for a month and a half.
Furthermore I am a mechanic and I understand the dynamics of an engine as it was conveyed to me by Chris H. In fact the reference that my engine was in spectacular or extremely good condition as noted by the inspector. I feel that this is an insult to my intelligence however as a customer and rebuttal my concerns with the Better Business Bureau and follow up court proceedings. I will contest my resolve at a later date after I assess the full disposition conclusion of my claim. I feel like I have to be famous as per commercials in order to receive a higher level of customer service with American Auto Shield. Additionally I have pictures of the cylinder head if needed. However all of the customer service agents on the phone were very polite and empathetic.

I started CarShield to save money on my car repairs. And all it did was for me to lose money. My car was in the shop since June 28, 2022. It's July 13 2022 and I still don't have my freaking car back. I constantly call day after day and I felt like the reps was just telling me stuff to get me off the phone. Worse experience I ever had with any company. I done miss days from work and days from my daily activities because I didn't have my car. I was ready to cancel carshield until I met a representative that showed me she cared by the name of Kayla. She went far and beyond to help me get answers and get the ball rolling. She also did a follow call to me to assure things was getting done.. Kayla I thank you dearly.
The bad stars does not go towards Kayla. It goes towards the company. It's not right for my money to come out automatic and I get crappy, slow and unsatisfied service. Again thank you Kayla. This review my name don't have to be anonymous. I don't care who see this review. This what I going through just not right and yes I'm beyond mad. I'm pissed. And in all it's July 13, 2022 and I STILL DONT HAVE MY CAR BACK. I like the rate that I was quoted. Very affordable! Customer service is also great. One of the greatest perks for me is roadside assistance. Not everyone offers that. I originally had another warranty through my dealer which I thought was very good...until I called Car Shield.

Please read your Car Shield contract thoroughly!! They paid 75 percent of my replacement cost for the Alternator and I paid for some parts and the 100 dollar deductible. I’m going to continue to keep my Car Shield Contract, I just wished they would pay for the entire repair costs but it’s all in the contract of what they’re responsible for.

I purchased the Car Shield Aluminum Extended Warranty before I received my Tesla Model-S. I called Car Shield and told them that the car was damaged in transport. I canceled the auto loan. I then told Car Shield to cancel the extended warranty. The Extended Warranty was canceled within 30 Days with No Hassle. Thank You Car Shield!.

I requested review of a claim made by a Jag dealership. I felt that something was amiss from their call explaining the diagnosis. They failed on even simple issues, neglecting to install new wiper blades as I requested. Worse still, they didn’t didn’t even offer me the choice to buy repairs. CarShield declined the claim and Long story short: the diagnosis was incorrect on both of my issues! CarShield realized that they were given 2 conflicting reports which caused them to decline. I would have put the repairs on my credit card and been furious when it wasn’t fixed.
I am a retired Service Manager from the auto dealership universe. Nothing Palm Beach Jaguar did met the mark. Everything CarShied did met the mark ++. A low performing dealer is aa affront because of their premium pricing. I spent many happy years in that business, working hard to be “worth” the premium. Causing clients to suffer a crisis of confidence in the dealer as well as in their Jag is an enormous disservice. I am pleasantly surprised (understatement) to find a such a high ethical standard n my extended warranty co. Thanks Again!
P.S. The accident and subsequent events undermined my ability to trust people. I’ve undergone brain surgery, am scheduled for neck/lumbar surgery to relieve some of the pain. So, finding that CarShield was a Great decision boosted my confidence.

CarShield had us covered from beginning to end. The car dealership that tried to rip us off And buy a whole new engine when we didn't need it all. We needed was a fuel pump not a whole new engine. Thankfully thanks to Carshield our car is back up and running and I don't need to dish out $8000 for a whole new engine. Thank you so much.
