Numerous phone calls from myself, my son who is also on the account and the repair shop trying to get my 2014 Jeep Cherokee fixed. All of us jumping through way too many hoops. Estimates and diagnoses repeatedly sent to you to no avail. Get the runaround every time we call.

We do show that there has been a technical issue on the repair facility's end, as claims has asked for them to email over their estimate multiple times and nothing has been received. Representative was very professional and helpful, answered my question quickly, I would recommend this company to everyone who might need car coverage on their vehicles and the price is very competitive. Staff very knowledgeable and followup on your questions as well as customer service was helpful and dealership was great, I have to make an appointment so I needed to know how to call and what all that I needed to complete my request, the representative handled my questions quickly and accurately.
It was a short wait for someone to answer my call, I had called on the weekend and the recording stated that the company was closed so when I called back on Monday morning my call was answered within a short period of time, which is unusual since the covid epidemic, most companies do not have sufficient staff to conduct business. Great job and great experience and I plan to continue my coverage with CarShield and glad that I purchased the warranty with your company.

I needed my AC repaired, called CarShield to verify I was covered for the repair before I secured a rental car which I knew I had in my paid comprehensive best coverage. I was told by two separate CarShield reps that I was covered to make sure before I told the repair shop to proceed. Well when the repair shop ordered the part, called for authorization and then to learn I wasn't covered. They had taken the car apart for diagnostic before we even knew what was wrong to submit the claim and was shocked when they denied the work. They also denied the rental car because it wasn't "more than 4 hours for labor" which they didn't even count the time for ordering the part, diagnostic and then repair. What a scam!!!! I have consulted a lawyer for their fraud.
We're sorry to hear this. We do show that your claim was authorized for the eligible components covered under your plan. Unfortunately, the shop reported that the AC issue was caused by a hose, and hoses are not listed for coverage under your contract, which is why that would not be paid for. You do have the top of the line coverage, which means very few things are NOT covered, and unfortunately, hoses are not mechanical breakdowns and not eligible for coverage under any of our contracts. If you have any questions about where you can find this exclusion in your contract, do not hesitate to give us a call anytime.

Car Shield was very helpful in making sure that PepBoys fixed my car properly. All repair centers should answer for substandard parts and work. Pepboys is NOT a reputable repair center with ASE certified mechanics. If not ASE certified then DO NOT list them.

Everything about your non service was disgusting! Everything I thought I could count on after years of paying was inaccurate and a fraud!! You could not even find my home and I went days without help of food and transportation!. I have wasted years and a lot of my money that I could have set aside and handled the issue myself!

Noticed a charge on my bank account so I called to find out why. Well, apparently my original account which had been canceled had not been completely closed. The representative was able to get the over payment for the last 6 months credited to my new account.

Smooth claim process with CarShield verifying that work to be done was actually warranted with pictures to justify the repairs, and I drove the repaired vehicle for a week and they called me to get my approval for final payout based on my satisfaction of the repaired car performance.

Hello. I been with for about a year and some months and my car is old. I got this protection plan to help with my car and the main thing they keep saying they fix engine, anything under the hood but that's not true, it like this is false advertising. IT doesn't do alternator or chasing wire or starter, leaking oils valves so why am I still with you??? The money am paying can be gas in my car and food on my table. Can you please give me 3 reason why I should keep paying and staying? Thank you. Email me back.

Wonder why the payment wasn't taken out. I had ask the agent why auto pay didn't take from account. She told me the date it is due and may be taken out on the day it is due, rather than a day or two before.

I am very satisfied with CarShield after Customer Support was able to help me set up a payment arrangement that fit around my circumstances. I had been rear ended in a car crash in my mother's vehicle and needed to take time off of work to recover from my injuries. It was very simple and easy to set up such an arrangement over the phone with both the financial department and receiving information that I was unsure about with the Customer Service department as well. I truly appreciate the help I received from the CarShield team so I could get back on track with my coverage. I have already recommended CarShield to my own family members as well as my significant other’s family as well! I took my vehicle to Kia dealership like I was told but they said they would not be able to fix the problem because of a tool they could not find to take the water pump and that wasn't the problem. So I had to take my vehicle to another shop that I picked and they said it wasn't the water pump but just air in the system. They flush the system and top it off and I paid for it and the tow truck driver.

I'm upset that My transmission experts charged American Auto shield over 5400.00 for a transmission that they never rebuilt. I was informed that American Auto Shield paid My Transmission Experts 3300.00 for a (new/reman transmission assembly) and My transmission experts said that they rebuilt it inhouse and my transmission is doing the same thing that they were suppose to fix and it is leaking.
They damaged my car with atleast 3000.00 worth of repairs and it seem that American Auto Shield doesn't care. I don't feel comfortable taking my car back to them. They had my car for 3 1/2 weeks to do nothing. I can't afford to give them my car again. I'm upset that I will to have to come out of my own pocket/file a claim on my insurance policy to have the damaged fixed and possibly to have the transmission replaced now. This place scammed American Auto Shield/ Car Shield and I'm the only one that cares about it. Attached is the invoice that My Transmission Experts gave me, stating that there was a rebuild not a (new/remanufactured transmission) installed which is misrepresentation/fraud.
We are very sorry to hear about this! Unfortunately, this was the fault of the repair facility, so there isn't anything we can do about it. If the shop lied about what transmission they acquired then that would be something you would need to take up with them. American Auto Shield approved and paid out for what was verified and authorized. We are happy to help you out on any future claims you may have.

CarShield didn't pay anything on my claim. They did help me to find a shop near me. CarShield customer service was great. They really helped me. I sure hope CarShield pay for more mechanical work. The warranty do not cover your vehicle to be diagnosed

It took them several phone calls to me and a great deal of investigation on my part to come upon a new relationship between us. It was well worth the effort though. I have health, 2 life, an AD&D, renters, health for my dog, and car (including uninsured motorist) insurances as of late. This policy rounds it out. I'm covered for everything that could possibly happen to me. I'm happy!

Sent in all information 4 times in a 3 week period. Never could talk to same person twice. We never got an answer. We kept getting the brush off from everyone saying they needed more information which we gave. No answer
We do apologize to hear this, however we show claims is still waiting for the shop to send in pictures and freeze frame data. Once they send that in, the claim should be able to proceed like normal. Please have the shop give claims a call as soon as possible, as it looks like claims has tried to reach out to them with no luck.

My husband purchased this product when he got a used diesel truck. He asked specific questions on what it covered and decided it would be useful. That was four years ago. In that time, there have been two occasions when he really needed the service and was told both times that issue wasn't covered. After the first issue, he called to cancel only to be talked into staying with "great" coverage. And they'd knock $20 off the monthly bill. We've now had a second issue and were told, once again, it's not covered. We've spent hundreds of dollars worth Shield only to turn around and pay thousands in repairs. This time, I want my money back. No ifs, ands, or buts. What's worse, he's in a wheelchair and was stranded for four hours at the last location the truck quit. I understand upselling, but your agents dang well better understand what the need is and meet that need.

Transmission went out in my 08 Hummer H3. They approved my repair however they’re going to replace it with a used transmission. Not even rebuilt and it will only have a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty. They Will Not replace it with a transmission from GM that will be rebuilt and have a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. To make matters worse when the transmission arrived at the dealership it was for the the wrong year. CarShield is saying the adjuster has 24 -48 hrs to review where they sent out the wrong part then make a decision on what happens next.
I was told if they send out another transmission it will take 6 days to arrive. That means I will have to keep my rental at least 8-9 more days and I am left paying out of pocket for a rental car to date for three weeks (the time it’s taken for the claim) and will only be reimbursed for 7 days even with them sending out the wrong part. They're telling me the contact only pays for 7 days rental. I have to pay for their mistake and risk having them replace my transmission with a used one. That is a major part and should be replaced with a like new part. My vehicle has less than 140,000 miles and is excellent condition. I will be afraid to drive my vehicle with a used transmission. I will absolutely not be referring CarShield to anyone and would advise people to go with another warranty company. Unhappy customer Y. **.
We're sorry that you feel this way. Our claims administrators replace parts with new, used, remanufactured parts of like kind and quality and are good, quality parts. This is explained in your contract. Claims guarantees our part for the life of your contract as well. Rental is just an added benefit to your policy and not something additional you pay to have on the contract, so there are limitations to it. It is only given in accordance with the verified labor time needed to do the repairs, plus the additional for having to send out a different part. I paid for over a year for the diamond plan. The advertisement says take it to the place of your choice. Guess what, they no longer accept CarShield because they won't pay claims. The dealership suggested I pay and ask CarShield to reimburse me. I called and checked and was told they would, just make sure the claim was authorized. NOW they don't want to pay. The employees give the incorrect information on their recorded line. They will not go back and verify it by checking the call. CarShield says it's my problem. They will take your money and you won't get anything for it. I asked to speak to a manager and was transferred to a disconnected number. They have an "F" rating with the BBB.
Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 17 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month. If you need help finding other shops in your area, please give us a call. As far as getting the cost of repairs being reimbursed, it does clearly state on the bottom of every page of the contract that no claims will be paid without prior authorization, so without the shop calling in the claim first and getting it approved, there would be nothing we can do to reimburse you for that. The person who I spoke with was very informative and explained a lot to me. He explained the coverage is effective in 20 days from the day I spoke with him. The share I will have to pay for any repairs is only $100.00. If I wanted to insure another vehicle the discount I would receive.

Air conditioning not working and Car Shield contacted to provide service. Fix the air condition. Spoke with a female employee that assisted me. She gave me the site as to what mechanic would honor Car Shield. I found a place close to where I live. Mechanic called and they related they honor Car Shield. Took the car the next day. The mechanic took care of calling the people to get authorization to fix car. The company had the car about a week and half. The part had to be sent by Car Shield. Received my car and it is working well. Just had to pay the deductible.

I have found that CarShield has been a great value for unexpected car repairs. I have used it two times and it has saved me several thousand dollars in repairs that could have caused financial difficulty. I would highly recommend it.

When I get a new car, I plan on getting a new policy. I didn't have to use the warranty but it felt good knowing I had it to lean on if I needed it. I canceled because I have an old car so if necessary I will just get a new car.

Only that Carshield seems to not pay for most of the services that I have claim. Most repair shops have pretty negative things to say about carshield as for as getting pay for service. It's almost like having nothing at all.

These guys are great. I got a plan I could afford for my 2006 Porsche Cayenne S, these guys cover the power train, engine and roadside service and it was cheap but my wife did not like the fact that we would be paying for a car that we don’t drive that much and is a weekend car, that we would be wasting money, which made sense, so I called to cancel the plan, had no issues with the customer service refunding my money and Cancelling my contract, I will recommend them against any other company out there! Happy and will use in future!!!! GREAT!

I didn't know the exact mileage on my car so I'm having a hard time getting my car fixed so I don't know if I would recommend this one to anyone else. I told the man that I wasn't sure what the mileage was because I was riding with my husband at the time I took the policy out and I was working two jobs and I am only human and forgot to call because my first job you can't have your phone in the patient rooms.

Our engine needs to be replaced and they need oil changes we have done in the past years. Autoshield is not satisfied with the receipts, giving us the runaround for many weeks and will not help at all. We take care of our car.
We do apologize to hear this. We did review your claim, and unfortunately, the service history you sent in did not have a VIN number on it, so there is no way to verify that those records were for the vehicle in question. Our vehicle's Air Conditioning (AC) quit working. It was in-explainable at first, until we found out the system had a leak towards the back and the front fan quit working. We are so thankful CarShield worked with our dealership mechanic and provided their help with the cost. It is our only vehicle and we have to commute 25 miles to get to our home.

First of all I was told by a major car dealership in Texas not to deal with this Car Shield. To keep my peace, I need tie rod replacement and I have the Diamond coverage which means they are covered. But when I called to check they said I’m not covered for that. So I paid for it myself but I checked again they said I should’ve been covered. I sent in the invoice of the repair and a couple days later I checked to see if they received the receipt. And they told me no. Once I was told that I knew there was going to be a problem. So I sent it again just like I felt there was the problem. I was denied my reimbursement due to all their technicality on repair. To keep my peace I’m going to just move on. I wouldn’t recommend this company and I’m tired of seeing all their commercial. I should’ve listen to my dealership.

We called Car Shield and the service person was great. Both a man and a woman we spoke to were very helpful. The problem was in getting a towing company to respond and tow our vehicle to the dealership. In the meantime, our neighbor came over and with his help, he got our vehicle started so we could drive it. We then had to cancel the towing company and did not use your service.

When I called, the service rep was very helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure that everything was covered. In fact, she even helped me with the finding of other service facilities. The only thing was that all of the facilities were closed and would not open for 2 days. Other than that, I had no other issues with CarShield or the service representative.

Cooling system went out on my cooling system the wiring system went out connect to the cooling system. And y'all said y'all wouldn't fix it because it's not a part of my contract. I opened a new feature. Y'all do better about your customer and just not a contract.

Had a good experience with CarShield but ended up paying $619.00 out of my pocket. CarShield rep said they should never be cash out of my pocket but car repair shop said that’s what car shield said to charge me. Car repair shop also didn’t talk too highly about CarShield and I didn’t have a option to take it to the dodge dealership, was limited to two repair shops in my area.

Not everything was covered but I did save a few bucks. I was told bolts were not covered. Nor were the controllers covered. Only the engine mounts. The controllers near engine mounts required another $830. I decided not to have controllers done.

I purchased a warranty with CarShield under the impression that my current coverage was going to lapse only to find out that I still had 2 more years on it. I called CarShield to cancel my warranty since I really didn't need it at this time and was very pleased with the ease of doing this. The Southampton Village Police came to help me because my car had suddenly registered over-heating and I was not about to move it. Although CarShied guarantees towing, I used AAA, and had AAA's Hampton's service tow my incapacitated car to the BMW dealership which services my car, and AAA reimbursed me for the towing which Car Shied would have been responsible for.

Took my vehicle to my Ford dealer for work. Asked them if they took Car Shield for the payment of the repairs. Was told they will not accept Car Shield as it takes 6 to 7 months for Car Shield to pay them. This is the 2nd Ford dealer that refused to honor Car Shield. I intend to drop Car Shield and go with another, more reputable company.
Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. It does not take 6-7 months for us to pay the shop. We pay immediately preceding repairs, over the phone with a company credit card. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 17 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month. Went to shop. My repair was denied. It was ac/electrical (blower motor resistor $365+ cost). First time in shop. First claim for things advertised in commercial. Disappointed. The only reason I'm keeping is My bf said to give it a chance. I'm like you pay it them.

I am purchasing a new vehicle so my need for CarShield is no longer necessary. I have no knowledge as to the actual service as I had no vehicle issues while having the policy. For peace of mind it is a good value.

After not receiving a discount on my catalytic converter failure, I was hesitant when my mechanic submitted the list of items that needed repaired on my Jeep. When he called me, he said he was pleasantly surprised when he received the list of items that would be covered. He hadn't had much luck with a previous client who had one of the other vehicle protection companies. Car Shield covered items that I didn't expect them to cover, including the rental car, front and back brakes, water pump assembly with everything that was associated and saved me thousands of dollars. I tell everybody who is looking for vehicle repair protection to call Car Shield.

The local Cadillac dealership would not honor the CarShield warranty. They found another dealer who would. I was told they had problems receiving payments from CarShield. I’ll have to take my car to a company in another city. It’s not too far away.

Customer Service gave me an alternative so I didn't have to cancel. She was able to lower my payment and skip it until Sept. I am retired and my income is set and limited. My budget is tight with little room.

I'm paying $160/month for 2 cars for 2 years, but CarShield can't even cover my AC when it broke down in the middle of summer at 100°F heat. Their explanation was that they don't cover the relay which makes the AC runs! This is insane! In my contract, it shows that the AC is covered but NOT the parts that keeps this AC running. That doesn't make sense, but that's how they make money. The trick is this: they "cover" the expensive parts that take longer, years, to break down. By then, they already made profits from you. And they don't cover the less expensive parts which breaks down very often. Smart, right. Anyways. I ended up paying out of my pocket close to $130 to replace a $40 relay on top of $80/month. You do the math...
We're sorry that you feel this way. The amount of coverage you get is dependent on your specific vehicle's year, make, model and mileage. Your vehicle may just have been too old or had too many miles on it when you signed up to qualify for those specific components to be covered. We do make sure to get you into the highest level of coverage possible depending on those factors. We do apologize, however we can only cover the parts listed in your contract for coverage. When my car was being repaired they held it for over 4 days I had to pay for a rental car at Enterprise rental service, because the labor time fell short one minute. Totally ridiculous to be denied for just one minute.

A representative gave me a call to remind me of my payment instead of letting my payment be late or my coverage being cancelled. He was courteous and patient. Sometimes we forget about a payment and I'm happy that I got a reminder call before it was too late. Great job CarShield.

I would definitely recommend and advise friends and family to inquire about Car Shield for their vehicles. I could not believe that you do not cover alternators. This is a expensive part not to mention the labor expense. I didn’t receive an ID card to present to the mechanic. I gave him the letter sent by you welcoming me to your service. Can you send me one please.

Car shield did not notify me of the delivery that never arrived at the Honda dealership until I called nearly 5 weeks later. Finally Carshield authorized Honda to order the part themselves. I then had to wait for Honda to order the fuel pump.

I was very pleased with the quick response given to my Dealership. CarShield covered the replacement of my water pump as the contract stated. My Dealership didn't seem to have any problems submitting my claim and getting approval for the covered repair.

I needed my ac repaired. I took it to a mechanic which he says approval to do the job. He fixed the ac, however, CarShield is stating that they never gave him approval. Something is not right. I'll be cancelling my account soon.

Not a lot was used or required at the time however, I’d recommend reviewing your contract and going over with a experienced specialist to go over with you specific terms of the contract as well as what you will expect and or receive.

CarShield accepted responsibility for repairs that I had to cover and were supposed to refund the amount I paid Larry Miller Hyundai. I still have not received any refund for the repair that I had to pay out of my own pocket

They approved my claim fast. Great job. All I ask the car problems and they approved the funds. My Mechanic ask them for funds so he can fix the problem. They approved the funds over phone and send his money over. I really like that.

Everything was good. Got my car fixed. Only complaint I think car rental should cover while car is broke down. $160.00 is not enough but. Everyone should be sure and read contract before repairing so they know what is covered. I was satisfied with my experience and keep all records as contract says.

The motor mounts were replaced, on my My Mercedes C250, it now rides so much smoother like it has a new suspension, I would recommend having Car Shield especially when your Vehicle has no extended warranty, Thank You Car Shield.

Sad to say that Carshield couldn't help me out at this time, the repair that I need isn't covered under my plan. My electronic steering went on my car and that's not covered under the plan that I have so the cost will be out of pocket.

I’m very disappointed in the amount that Carshield covered. I’ve had extended car warranties before and I’ve never had to pay that much of the total for a car repair. I will be going with a different warranty company soon.

CarShield is a big help, this is my first claim, the commercials are misleading. I thought they paid total amount of repairs after copay, not true there are things that go along with repair to make you whole again they don't pay for, which leave out of pocket. I guess it is good they do help cover expense.

My air conditioning problem did not show any problem when AAA had the truck. On the way back from picking up the truck, the air compressor starting making the noise again. I will return it back as soon as the noise continues.

You need 500 miles first. They don't go by the day your service starts in 20 days. Liars. They told me my service starts July 11th. Nothing about mileage beginning. They did not honor my warranty. What else do they deny you about when you really need them.

This company is true to their word. I’ve covered my vehicles with CarShield in the past and never had a problem getting my repairs done with only $100 deductible. Now, that, is peace of mind for people like myself who would be devastated with a car bill likes transmission. Heck, air-conditioning units could set you back. Well worth the peace of mind in my eyes. I know this review sounds like a commercial but I assure you it’s not! One very satisfied customer.

Have been unable to use this warranty because I have been unable to find a repair shop that accepts the Car Shield warranty. Have felt deceived by what I was initially told and what my paperwork described as my benefits. There was no hesitation to accept my payments while at the same time no effort was expended to resolve my issues with finding a local repair location.
Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 17 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month. No one takes Car Shield around my location. Customer service hung up on me 3 times. I will be switching insurance by the next billing date. The customer service is not helpful at all and there rude. I am very disappointed in the whole company.

I was calling to cancel because I couldn't afford the payments. The agent was able to cut my payments in half! I was very grateful because I am on a small disability pension. This has made a huge difference in my life. I no longer have to stress out every month when I try to set up my budget.

I received a flyer stating a Gold plan for $89 a month. I told the man I wanted the Gold plan. He said, "That will be $144." I said, "I have a flyer here that says $89." He says, “Oh, you have the discounted rate.” Then he said he’d send me a contract and he never did. I had to call and ask for it again. I have to wait 24 hours to see if they withdrew the correct amount.

CarShield's computer overcharged me on July 2022 $107.17. This is on my WSECU checking account. I have talked to customer service 2 times to get a refund, which they refuse to give. They told me once a payment is made it cannot be refunded. If I do not receive a refund, I will close my account with CArshield and give my business to someone more honest.

CARSHIELD helped the auto shop to find a radio to replace the one that I had in my car. It was serviced and there were issues with it not working correctly so after talking back to carshield back-and-forth they were able to help me remedy the problem. Their service person was very helpful.

I took my truck to the dealer to change the oil, rotate tires, change filters. They went ahead to do a safety check and found some very dangerous items needing attention. I did not want to break down somewhere so... I asked them to submit to Auto Shield. I never heard from Honda dealer until I was told the truck was ready for P/U. Never had an issue.

I called to find out which wrecker service I could use to take my car to a repair facility. I was given a Phone # to call. The appointment is set up for Wednesday morning, July 20, 2022. I wanted to be sure the shop was knowledgeable on older model VW Beetles. After speaking with an experienced mechanic, I chose this shop.
