I was called by one of your reps to kindly inform me that they were having a problem my payment going thru and I explained that I had received a new card and once that was established the new info was processed and all was good to go!!! I appreciated the fact that they called to let me know instead of canceling my policy!! That’s what I call taking care of a longtime customer!!!

This company is horrible and its goal is to collect your premiums without paying claims. My husband took out a policy after we purchased a used vehicle. A few months later, the vehicle broke down and required a new motor. The vehicle was towed to a repair facility using our roadside assistance (luckily) and a claim was initiated. The mileage was questioned and if we hadn't had a receipt for towing with the actual mileage listed, our claim would have been denied right there. After THREE months of constant calls and requests and jumping through hoops, today our claim was denied. You may ask why....well, the contract may cover replacing a motor, but it will only cover if there is actually no reason for the motor to need replacement. The contract doesn't cover hoses, and because one busted and caused the motor to run hot, they won't replace the motor. Do not waste your money.

During my latest interaction with CarShield, I canceled the service on my old car. However, we are still customers with our newer vehicle. We remain customers with CarShield. CarShield canceled the old contract without any hassle. CarShield was pleasant on the phone.

Broken suspension rods and pins to be replace, found out when having garage doing annual oil change and car inspection for the year. Did not know the pins in rods were missing (broken) and thus breakage of rods resulted. So, had garage call to see if rods were covered under policy to help pay the $280 that came unexpected to my budget.

This claim has been dragging on for 3+ weeks. Sent maintenance records, photos of the car, diagnostic from repair shop and someone went out there on Friday to look at it. Yesterday I was advised the adjuster now want the engine torn which will be paid by me - $1100! I am waiting for a call back from adjuster to explain why he wants this now. I doubt I will receive a response. I'm telling people I know don't believe the commercials car shield Is very difficult to work with.

Simple....from the first phone call everyone was efficient and made me feel at ease. The process so far is friendly and helpful. Shops are eager to deal with Carshield which impressed me. Towing was easy to set up and I am now setting up rental car coverage. So far Excellent!

I was completely misled when I signed up with a CarShield. A woman on the phone was very insistent on me covering my second vehicle which I really was not interested in. She talked me into it and basically told me that everything would be covered on it even though it’s a 2004 except for the air conditioning. I had some repairs that need to be made that are looking at about $1300 involved in power steering pump, gas pedal and window switch and motor. They are not covering anything on that. They said just transmission and motor. My transmission motor is fine.
We're sorry to hear this, however, we can assure you that you were not misled. Out sales representatives are highly scripted and monitored to make sure that the correct information is given to each and every customer. It is unfortunate when a needed repair isn't listed for coverage on your policy. Hopefully we can help you on the next one!

I have been happy with CarShield. I purchased a contract because I wanted to keep my 2015 Jeep Cherokee for another 5 or so years. Unfortunately, my car was totaled by some maniac who ran through a stop sign. Your people were professional and friendly, helping me cancel my contract and the steps needed for a refund.

I received a letter showing the coverage was quite a bit more reasonable at ($99 per month with customer ID **) than the quote I got just a few days before. Spoke with Deanna and Brandon **. Originally $146.36 per month. Was able to drop to $124.48. Because of the car I have (2011 Cadillac CTS). Only income is social security. The reduction does help, although the advertisement letter showed $99 per month for the platinum plan. (Same as I signed up for.)
We do apologize, however that is just a general advertisement and it does state "As low as $99". The price of the plan depends on the year, make, model, mileage of the vehicle as well as other factors such as state taxes and labor rates in your area. We do work with you the best we can to get you the cheapest cost possible. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to give us a call.

My water pump went out on my car. I called CarShield and they gave me instructions on how to proceed. They got me a tow truck to the dealership. They covered the cost for the part and I paid my deductible. My car was ready the next day. Thank you Car Shield.

Could not get the deal I was hoping for. I been with you guys for over a year, made all my payment on time, just thought I might get a better deal. I had to drop off my cars. I'm not sure how you guys do business, just wanted to keep my cars under warranty. If there is a way you can help me please give me a call.

I inquired about my coverage for a problem with my power windows. Service rep was very helpful! I described my problem. He was quickly able to ascertain that I am covered. To wit, I visited my Toyota dealer and have an appointment for next week.

Wow, I don't want this to read lesser than other reviews, so here is the whole truth about CarShield. Phenomenal! Never had I been treated so kindly by anyone in the automotive scheme. Car Shield's people are right on, they explained everything to me in my layman ways. They explained logistics of not just Car Shield, but the car repair places and what they would do for me without any crazies. I was and am elated for my car repairs. The transmission control modular unit went out in my car right there in Costco parking lot 45 minutes away from my house. They had me towed, and my USAA insurance paid fully for me to have a LIFT ride to anywhere I needed to go. LOVE LOVE LOVE CAR SHIELD. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

See you require a maintenance keep of my vehicle. So you have a feature saying download documents? I tried so many times and it doesn’t work! So if my car was to break I have documentation but you're making this impossible to prove. I am not too happy with that, called your 1800 number, put in hold for troubleshooting at least 20 minutes, nothing resolved! So to me this indication that if something goes wrong with my vehicle after the time you ask told me the grace period before your benefits can’t start? This indication of shady business to me so I will not pay next month on cancel my services and try the other guys? Your competition that their name. Either be honest with customers?

I had to temporarily cancel my account because my van was totaled. I plan to replace it this week and was told that part of my last payment will go towards my new vehicle since payment had just been made. I chose CarShield as my Warranty coverage because I needed the coverage and I liked Ice T! I couldn’t see Ice T promoting anything that was reliable and helpful.. Back in September of 2021, I signed up with CarShield.. I was supposed to be receiving my contact by email but never received it.. I’m a busy person so I don’t dwell on the same things repeatedly unless it’s not correct.. I paid; $99.99 down and $99.99 a month automatic payment draft.. I’m knowing if anything happens I’m good! So, a few months later I started having problems with my my struts and suspension system.. I had nothing to look over to see if was covered so, I called CarShield! They say no it’s not covered that’s like $2,000 to be repaired.. So now again August 24th,2022. My A/C and Radio screen is out. I only take my car to the Cadillac place where I brought it from.
I called CarShield, they to me to get it diagnosed and have the technician to send them the diagnosis! The Cadillac technician did just that. I paid $250 for the diagnostic fee that day. I called CarShield in asked if they’ve received all they need from the Cadillac technician? I was told that they didn’t have anything on me as part of a claim. I had to start all the way over. This person on the phone now, told me to have the technician to call him and give him the claim number.. I did just that, so now I did just that. An hour later, I get a call from the Cadillac technician, saying that I will need to bring my car back because CarShield has emailed them a thick Pamphlet that has to be filled out and they have to get the codes off the car and re/diagnosis the car again. I drop my car off at the Cadillac place on 8/29/22.
Ok so I’m catching rides every day to and from work.. I work 40 miles from home, 40 miles going and 40 miles coming that’s 80 miles in a day. On 9/10/22 American AutoShield a joint company with CarShield, lady named Alexis called me to get verification of my vehicle and to get my 1yr of vehicle service which had already been emailed to them on 9/9/22 from the Cadillac place. Between 9/11-9/12/22, someone from the warranty company called in unprofessionally left a message for the Cadillac technician that my vehicle wouldn’t be covered. The technician called me at 8:04am to let me know! I called CarShield to ask and asked why not? They said, they don’t cover outside damage! I asked, "How could it be outside damage when one has worked on my vehicle in that area?" And that’s part of the reason I’m paying monthly fees to them in case of daily natures like this one?
If you are driving with no accident and something hits your vehicle like a stick or rock going in between your grill and hitting your condenser without you being aware of it, that’s Mother Nature! They still said, it’s not covered.. I asked for a copy of my denial letter! I was told it takes 7 to 10 days before it arrives.. that was on today 9/12/22.. I also asked what was the appeal process? I was told that once the adjuster has denied the claim there’s no reversing it?? Meaning there’s no fair chance at making sure this is in your policy and/or there was nothing misunderstood in the claim report..
We do apologize, however, your contract does clearly state that damage caused by external causes is not eligible for coverage. You can find this on page 6 of 22 in your contract under the Exclusions section. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to give us a call.

My calls were met with the “adjuster is too busy to respond to my claim” for over two weeks just to have the claim denied. Even then I had to call to get that update as no attempt was made to call and inform me of what I needed to do on this first time filing and last.

They are still reviewing my invoice for the A/C repair on my 2012 Nissan Murano. Due to a time crunch, I was told by a Car Shield representative that I could tell the mechanic to order the part and repair the A/C. American Auto Says that the mechanic refused to work on my car. The American Auto representatives have not been very helpful. I am waiting on a response. This is the first claim that I have had. If I do not get reimbursed, I do not feel that I need to keep my CarShield policy.

Waiting on a decision if they are going to fix it or not going on a week now. The part is covered by the plan. The problem is on their end. Dealer is all ready to do their repair. I have call every day and they said 72 business hour to make a decision.

I have not used CarShield, yet. Do have any referrals, that you would recommend for Car Repairs Service in the Washington, D C area? I was impressed with your Customer Service Representative. I have been calling around. So far I have only found One location. Do you have list, that you could send me. I would greatly appreciate, it.
Sorry you’re having trouble finding a local repair shop that accepts our coverage. Some shops refuse to take our coverage, however it is not for the reasons you may think. Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 17 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month. My son most recently purchased new tires for my car and had them installed. He suggested that I get a front end alignment. When I took my car into a shop to do so I was told I needed a part replacement. I contacted Car Shield and was told the shop had to call them. Car shield is refusing my claim.

Had a problem with a card that I listed for payments. Just had to give a valid card number!! Great help getting it set up!!!! Haven't needed to use the coverage yet, so I don't have much to say about service at this point. Having the coverage gives me a little less worries about future problems that may show up.

Only thing I would suggest is that rental would be approved based on Mechanic's time frame as well. Maybe visiting with them and getting feedback on how soon the vehicle repairs will be completed. I was only authorized 4 days and the Mechanic shop will be taking approx 2 weeks since parts had to be ordered! Very disappointing due to that.

Customer service was really clear on the actions I needed to take and provided the companies that can help with the car problems I was having. Also they were so fast acting wasted no time contacting roadside assistance to have my vehicle towed in a timely fashion, they tower met me face to face and explained what he was going to do before he even asked for my keys. CarShield has multiple connections and resources to get all your car needed handled from a blown engine to a flat tired. I recommend CarShield- American auto Shield.

Canceled due to no shops in my immediate area accept CarShield. I should have done a better job at researching in my area prior to purchasing this contract. I'm sure it works well in other areas of the country but it just was not right for our family. I really appreciate the customer service, though.

Some shops refuse to take any outside coverage because they want to be in charge of their own prices. There is a nationally recognized labor guide that tells repair facilities what to charge for what services and things like that. But it's up to each individual shop whether or not they want to follow it. With coverage like ours, we keep shops from overcharging our customers and shops don't always like that. We’re happy to stand on our record of servicing over 2 million customers over our 17 years in business. Not to mention our claims department pays out over $5 million in claims every month. I'm very unhappy with service, first of all I've talked to several agents on shops, I've been given at least 13 shops. All of them never heard of, or subscribe to your service, I'm tired of this, also it's too much red tape to go thru to try and get service, I've spent several thousands of dollars for repairs on my vehicle, I wish you guys would look out for your clients like you take my money. I'm considering canceling my contract, I'm paying for service $85.00 a month for each vehicle, I paid for both vehicles on this past Friday, was told they would email my receipt, never happened, spoke with agent was told that's not something that your company does. I've had your service for over a year. I'm tired of lies, lousy service, I'm not going to keep paying for service that I'm not getting, then spending my money on repairs. Please advise, fed up customer.

Transmission stopped going into reverse when driving. Revs up erratically. High rpm. Gets stuck on low gear took too. Ed Hicks Nissan took 6 days to get a response after I called to inquire and it got escalated the next morning. Got a call from adjuster. He ask me questions about the maintenance history of the vehicle. I felt like criminal being interrogated. On the 7 day they contacted Robert service advisor. It got approved. On the 8th day they ordered the transmission, came in on the 11th day, was ready on 13th day, Aug 31 2022.

I sent in my car for repairs 2014 GMC Terrain, I purchased the warranty in the event we would need to have it repaired out of warranty. And sure enough the first time using the warranty the claim was denied. I was lied to and fed baloney. I needed the engine variable valve timing intake and exhaust replaced. The part was 89.99 each and the total cost for that repair was 124.94. So you lost a potential life time customer who was in the process of purchasing two more additional plans for my children who are of driving age and have their own vehicles. I feel I was lied to and sold a bogus policy. I feel your company is full of liars. They said anything to sell me a warranty even offered me $20.00 off a month for the two policies so I purchased the plan. But when it came time to collect the claim was denied.
Your company offered my an additional $20.00 off the price per month for my policy which comes out to $240.00 off my yearly price for the warranty. I was truly taken back because the cost of the repair was $124 plus parts, why would you just approve the claim? I am truly appalled. I am a hard working low wage earner and every penny counts. I am truly disgusted by your company's inability to follow through with the promise they made. SHAME ON YOU. I am truly appalled by your lack of concern for my plight. I even prepaid for one of my warranties for my car. Boy was I a sucker.

The things that I need to be covered are not covered and that's a lot of money to pay and not have things covered on your car. Y'all bragged about how good you are and how much you cover and it's not true.
We do apologize. We did review your claim and it looks like the issues called in were a nail in your tire and the windshield needed to be sealed, both of which are external, cosmetic items on the vehicle that are not eligible for coverage on any of our contracts. We do let you know when you set up coverage what is eligible for coverage, and on your specific plan, your vehicle is covered 95%. Zero service. Just a run around, every time I called they said there's nothing in the file. 5 days have passed since I attempted to get my car fixed. My wife is stuck in Texas, car is broke and zero help from Car shield. Service is pitiful. In English it sucks.

Fair. I had a problem with the towing. Didn’t like just 125 dollars on towing because I live about 50 miles from a auto shop. I didn’t like the rental agreement for a car. I didn’t have money to pay upfront.

The worst experience so far. My car has been down since this Monday. Customer service is not very helpful towards new customers. The places I have called on the list aren’t in network and or they don’t work on Land Rovers. No car no rentals. Only public transportation for work, which is definitely not good. Long hours commuting. The Land Rover dealer says that they don’t work with CarShield. I’ve been a member since two months and I’m really not happy. The surveys are also very annoying.

Unfortunately I recently found out that I needed a new exhaust system and unfortunately Car Shield does not cover exhaust systems. So I kind of feel like I'm paying for it for nothing. Needless to say I am not too happy with this very moment because I am a widow of a veteran and my budget is very limited so being able to come up with over $1,100 for my exhaust system is not going to be easy. But with the help of God and a lot of praying I'm sure I can do this.

The customer service was wonderful! Anytime I had a question or concern, each representative was patient and knowledgeable. My only issue was the (48 hour) inspection report took five days to be reviewed. Nevertheless, I am happy with my overall experience and will defiantly recommend.

This is the second claim I have had in 2+ years and the second one I'm having to fight for. I have the Gold Powertrain policy with a bad CV axle on our 2011 MKX. They have said that they will NOT cover a penny of it because it started from the boot. Well, DUH, that is where CV axles usually go bad from. They list it's a covered part and that is it. But, when their approved mechanic calls them and tells them this... they say, "NA, IT'S NOT COVERED!" It started from the housing they say. Housing? It's a boot. Their approved mechanic has a jaw-dropping mis-belief of their stance.
Why am I spending almost $200.00 a month to have coverage when they don't pay for squat? All the things they say they cover... they break down into micromanagement to see how they can get out of it. Then, they make up words that are not properly used to cover themselves. The money leaves my bank account every month and goes into theirs. And, that seems to be the ONLY way they plan to have that work. See you in small claims court!

I canceled my service contract because I purchased a new vehicle. I will have the dealer warranty for at least three years. I will be back with CarShield when the dealership warranty expires. I have had CarShield for nearly four years, and only had to use your service once. It was a no hassle issue and the dealer was able to replace the window motor during an oil change.

Rebuilt transmissions with no issues except the car rental part of the contract needs to be less strict. I've paid on this warranty for years and it was so much trouble to rent a car, I borrowed one for a week.

When it came to be to get my car fixed was denied because when I first signed up was given wrong information. Was absolutely horrible. Totally do not give you correct information when you sign up and then when it's time to get your car fixed you can't cause they gave you wrong Info in the very beginning. They suck.

Numerous phone calls from myself, my son who is also on the account and the repair shop trying to get my 2014 Jeep Cherokee fixed. All of us jumping through way too many hoops. Estimates and diagnoses repeatedly sent to you to no avail. Get the runaround every time we call.

I needed my AC repaired, called CarShield to verify I was covered for the repair before I secured a rental car which I knew I had in my paid comprehensive best coverage. I was told by two separate CarShield reps that I was covered to make sure before I told the repair shop to proceed. Well when the repair shop ordered the part, called for authorization and then to learn I wasn't covered. They had taken the car apart for diagnostic before we even knew what was wrong to submit the claim and was shocked when they denied the work. They also denied the rental car because it wasn't "more than 4 hours for labor" which they didn't even count the time for ordering the part, diagnostic and then repair. What a scam!!!! I have consulted a lawyer for their fraud.
We're sorry to hear this. We do show that your claim was authorized for the eligible components covered under your plan. Unfortunately, the shop reported that the AC issue was caused by a hose, and hoses are not listed for coverage under your contract, which is why that would not be paid for. You do have the top of the line coverage, which means very few things are NOT covered, and unfortunately, hoses are not mechanical breakdowns and not eligible for coverage under any of our contracts. If you have any questions about where you can find this exclusion in your contract, do not hesitate to give us a call anytime.

Car Shield was very helpful in making sure that PepBoys fixed my car properly. All repair centers should answer for substandard parts and work. Pepboys is NOT a reputable repair center with ASE certified mechanics. If not ASE certified then DO NOT list them.

Everything about your non service was disgusting! Everything I thought I could count on after years of paying was inaccurate and a fraud!! I took my vehicle to Kia dealership like I was told but they said they would not be able to fix the problem because of a tool they could not find to take the water pump and that wasn't the problem. So I had to take my vehicle to another shop that I picked and they said it wasn't the water pump but just air in the system. They flush the system and top it off and I paid for it and the tow truck driver.

I'm upset that My transmission experts charged American Auto shield over 5400.00 for a transmission that they never rebuilt. I was informed that American Auto Shield paid My Transmission Experts 3300.00 for a (new/reman transmission assembly) and My transmission experts said that they rebuilt it inhouse and my transmission is doing the same thing that they were suppose to fix and it is leaking.
They damaged my car with atleast 3000.00 worth of repairs and it seem that American Auto Shield doesn't care. I don't feel comfortable taking my car back to them. They had my car for 3 1/2 weeks to do nothing. I can't afford to give them my car again. I'm upset that I will to have to come out of my own pocket/file a claim on my insurance policy to have the damaged fixed and possibly to have the transmission replaced now. This place scammed American Auto Shield/ Car Shield and I'm the only one that cares about it. Attached is the invoice that My Transmission Experts gave me, stating that there was a rebuild not a (new/remanufactured transmission) installed which is misrepresentation/fraud.
We are very sorry to hear about this! Unfortunately, this was the fault of the repair facility, so there isn't anything we can do about it. If the shop lied about what transmission they acquired then that would be something you would need to take up with them. American Auto Shield approved and paid out for what was verified and authorized. We are happy to help you out on any future claims you may have.

I was very happy with the service I received. The customer service the monthly representative was very friendly and helpful. The deductible was reasonable and the monthly payment was what I was looking for. I would recommend Carshield to anyone who is looking for honesty and great service.

I have only one thing to say. OUTSTANDING!!! Great customer service. They are willing to help with everything you have problems with. They reacted to the claim very fast. I would recommend Car Shield to friends and families. Even strangers. I am very satisfied.

It took them several phone calls to me and a great deal of investigation on my part to come upon a new relationship between us. It was well worth the effort though. I have health, 2 life, an AD&D, renters, health for my dog, and car (including uninsured motorist) insurances as of late. This policy rounds it out. I'm covered for everything that could possibly happen to me. I'm happy!

Sent in all information 4 times in a 3 week period. Never could talk to same person twice. We never got an answer. We kept getting the brush off from everyone saying they needed more information which we gave. No answer
We do apologize to hear this, however we show claims is still waiting for the shop to send in pictures and freeze frame data. Once they send that in, the claim should be able to proceed like normal. Please have the shop give claims a call as soon as possible, as it looks like claims has tried to reach out to them with no luck.

I absolutely had a great experience with the rep I spoke with this morning. She was friendly and professional. I have not had any issues with my car that warrants me to contact Car Shield (Thank God). However, I am very pleased to know that I have Car Shield if I ever need to use it.

My husband purchased this product when he got a used diesel truck. He asked specific questions on what it covered and decided it would be useful. That was four years ago. In that time, there have been two occasions when he really needed the service and was told both times that issue wasn't covered. After the first issue, he called to cancel only to be talked into staying with "great" coverage. And they'd knock $20 off the monthly bill. We've now had a second issue and were told, once again, it's not covered. We've spent hundreds of dollars worth Shield only to turn around and pay thousands in repairs. This time, I want my money back. No ifs, ands, or buts. What's worse, he's in a wheelchair and was stranded for four hours at the last location the truck quit. I understand upselling, but your agents dang well better understand what the need is and meet that need.
