    The guys were really nice, friendly and professional on the phone, but I didn't get what I was quoted. They said I would get 80,000 miles for the coverage, and the brochure only says 60,000. I'm going to cancel for that simple fact and they came up with the cash sale value of $3,000. The truck’s worth 14 grand, and they're only going to offer me $3,000 in repairs, if anything goes wrong. That doesn't cover anything. If the motor blows in it, that's seven grand right there. If the transfer case goes bad, that's 4000. If the transmission goes, that's another 9,000. It's not worth spending 100 bucks a month on something that's not gonna pay out.

    Looking at the plan that this order # goes to is not what was discussed. The plan discussed was 30 days plus 200 miles not 1000 miles. Also there is no website that I've found that I can login to for more details about the plan I purchased. Maybe someone can email me some more info about the plan I bought.

    Everything was okay in the beginning, then we had a little bit of a problem when there was a claim that needed to be paid. That took a few weeks to get straightened out. I was under the impression that it was 100% reimbursement, minus the deductible. They also didn't tell me when I signed up that they could use junkyard parts. To serve everyone, Carchex could be more upfront about what is covered.

    I’ve been going through Carchex since 2017. I like the service but I needed a tow the other day and had to pay out of pocket prior to the person moving my car. That was the first time having that happen to me and was a poor experience. Carchex told me all the tow trucks in the area were busy so the morning was booked up. I called a private guy on Craigslist to tow it. Me being in the state where I live at and couldn't even get a tow truck was messed up. But maybe it’s something changed around here. The tow trucks have been overpricing people and this is Michigan so there’s a whole bunch of potholes.

    I filed a claim once but the guy that I went to was a sketchy dude. Carchex said they would have covered it but the guy said that Carchex wanted them to take the part off the car, open it up, and show them. The guy said he didn’t want to do all that. I had to take it to another place. They said because the drive shaft messed up the transfer case, that they wouldn’t cover it. But it's all part of the drivetrain. That was the worst thing I had to come out of my pocket. I paid $1,300 to get it done. But lately, I’ve been satisfied with Carchex because it's changed over the years. I've been out of town and called for a jump, and they showed up.

    I had a contract with Carchex previously on a different vehicle and I didn't have to go through any hoops when my truck needed to be fixed. But the process this time was a little different and it wasn't as smooth as it was the first time that I signed up with them. I spoke with someone, and then they went and got their manager. It was almost like buying a car. It was a little weird. It made me kind of question was I really speaking to CARCHEX at first?     I bought a used 2014 Ford Mustang GT and I wanted to get a warranty because it had low mileage on it and I want to keep the car up. The car had a Roush conversion on it, and CARCHEX didn't cover the conversion even though it was factory installed. So, I cancelled the warranty and I'm waiting on my refund. I would have still been in contract not even knowing that my vehicle isn’t covered if I wouldn’t have read everything. The salesman will talk nice to you, but you got to make sure you read the fine print. CARCHEX is a good company as far as the stuff that they offer. If you got a regular car and you’re trying to get some quotes on a regular car, CARCHEX wouldn’t be a bad idea.

    Endurance has a better month-to-month price, but Carchex paid what the value of the car was. The first time, the rep knew everything. He knew the competitor and what they were going to offer. But when I sold my truck, I was going cancel and the guy I talked to was not the nicest guy. He faded me and I never heard from him again. Also, Carchex still hasn't gotten back to me on when I canceled because I put $1,000 down and they still haven't told me if it went towards my new policy or if they were gonna send me the money back.

    I purchased a contract and did not learn that CARCHEX uses American Auto Shield as the provider until after the sale was complete. A quick Internet search turned up page after page of awful comments. A call to CarChex to cancel my policy under the 30-day money back guarantee resulted in someone "transferring" me (I think I was just put on hold) to wait for the "Cancellation Department". After 50 minutes on hold, a recorded message came on stating that there were no representatives available, and to leave a message. I left my information, requested cancellation of the policy, and requested a call back. I have not received a call back within 24 hours, so I have sent a letter via registered mail to both CarChex and to American Auto Shield requesting cancellation. I have also posted a report to the Better Business Bureau, hoping that I have not seen the last of my money.

    I did some research, and Carchex was highly recommended on many different websites, so that's what made me choose them before I found out they're not an actual warranty company that administers the warranty. They are a go-between. It's a little bit misleading. The guy that helped me was nice and helpful but he acted as if they were the ones that would be warrantying my car instead of telling me who's going to be doing the warranty on the car. I wouldn't have purchased the warranty had I known that. When I got the email telling me the company that would be doing it, I looked them up and they're so low. Nobody recommends them at all anywhere. Needless to say, I'll be switching from Carchex.

    I contacted several providers for vehicle protection. The initial quotes were all about the same coverage/cost. Same too for CARCHEX with one major difference. Before I hung up and went to the next provider, the representative (Tyler) said, "Let me see if there are any promotions." He offered a significant discount compared to the other providers. I signed up. A couple of days later the other providers started contacting me because they have a new hot deal that will save me money. Should have done that the first time.

    I cancelled the policy with Carchex and they told me I would receive a money back within 48 hours. I still haven't gotten it and it's been probably three days now. The first guy I talked to at Carchex told me to send a letter in with all the information. He said I couldn’t call in. It sounded a little crazy because everything else was via DocuSign, over the internet. So, I sent the letter in and I gave it about two weeks. I haven't heard anything. So, I called and the rep apologized and said that he didn’t know why I was told that. He said all we had to do was send him an email with all the information and he could process it and be done. He said the guy was notorious for doing that. He just won't do the paperwork.

    Telling somebody they have to send something in to the mail now is ridiculous. I don't ever mail anything so I had to go a special trip to the post office to get a stamp and then mail. Everything is electronic now so I was pissed about that. For the rep, all he does is a few clicks of the mouse and send it to the right person. That's the aggravating part and knowing that he's notorious for this, and that's coming from another employee of theirs was an even bigger kicker.

    The rep explained the coverage with Carchex well although I still am not completely sure what all is covered and to go through each and every small detail might be tough. But I was told it's an ultimate program that I took and it covers bumper-to-bumper warranty, including most of the electronics, if any breakdown happens. The process was smooth and it wasn't something hard to enroll. I took a five-year program but if I were to cancel the program after two years, if we decide to sell the car, the prorated amount will be refunded. Carchex also had a three-year program or a two-year program, which will also be beneficial. The five year program is costing me four grand and three years will cost me by dividing by three years. So that could be a good option to have.

    I've been with Carchex ever since my factory warranty wore out. So, it should be about 10 years that I've been with them. I'm very happy and satisfied with them. I just renewed my warranty with them. I went from Hyundai and they were not doing their job and I was concerned. So, I started to go to another mechanic. I had check to make sure first that he was qualified with CARCHEX also and he was. He's very happy with them too. Sometimes, it's very hard to get ahold of Carchex because everybody's calling them but when I get ahold of them, they're very knowledgeable. The last time I called them, I didn't even know what I was calling about. The mechanic told me what I needed and told me to give them a call.

    I called Carchex and told them what the problem was and the guy explained what the problem was and exactly the detail what they wanted the mechanic to do. He said what the mechanic was doing and what they wanna pay him for it. I was gonna have to pay the $100 on it but everything else, they were gonna pay to him. Carchex explained the detail to the mechanic that works with my car and paid him very fast also. He said that he sent them a bill in the morning and they sent a check in the afternoon. One of the things that I was impressed with was that when I called Carchex up, they asked me the right questions, and I told them what I think. They figured out how much it was going to be and the first thing they did was tell me if they could cover it or not.

    I was looking for a reputable company that had low denial rates. A lot of people say that they have an extended warranty. They send their car to the mechanic but the mechanic refuses it. CARCHEX said they have a low denial rate, which is good. I went with them because they cover the transmission, engine, and drivetrain. That's very important to me for a new, high mileage car. Also, the other warranty companies had monthlies that were too high. They were only able to cover suspension and electric components but not the drivetrain.

    The rep said the coverage was good. However, Carchex would not send me a copy of the warranty until I paid for it. We did a seven-year plan for $3,400. They sent me the boilerplate of the warranty and there were several things in there that I didn't like and wouldn't agree to. I tried to cancel that day but they wouldn’t let me do it. I had to jump through hoops to cancel the warranty. I had to get it notarized and verification of the miles is one of their requirements. I gave the rep several reasons and he kept asking me where was I getting my information. I told him I was getting it from the information they sent me. There were links on it. One of them was to have your car monitored with a plug-in device and I don't allow my insurance companies to do that. Another one was if you have a breakdown when they're off hours, they'd only cover up to $250 without prior approval. If you have a breakdown, $250 is probably not gonna cover anything.

    I kept getting the same guy, Ben. The first time, he said they were closed. They open up at 9:00 in the morning so I called back the next day. On one ring, Ben answered the call. I told him I still wanted to cancel and asked if he could transfer me to the cancellation department. I sat on hold, and my call was never picked up. I went to the cancellation department three different times via phone. One time, it was 21 minutes then they disconnected me with never talking to anybody. Another time, it was 11 minutes. Another time, it was 10 minutes. They never picked up so I did it in writing.

    The purchase was okay and the rep was helpful in getting the money for me to pay for the warranty. But I had either 30 days to go without any problems or so many miles, and the car broke down Thursday night on Interstate 71. It's the alternator. I'm behind on my car payment and I got to get the car fixed. So, I contacted Carchex and let them know, and that I'd like to cancel the membership at this time. The first rep hung up on me, and the second one put me on hold for 15 minutes and then sent me to a voicemail. The third time I called, they said that they would get me over to the cancellations department. Nobody picked up the phone and it said to leave a recording. So, I left a recording. I looked in my email and found the guy's information and called him directly. They said that he wasn't in at the time so, I left a message on his voicemail and sent him an email. But I haven't had any response.

    Carchex gives you 30 days to cancel and after 30 days, you can’t get your money back. But I expected to hear from them better than this. I called because it said about 1,000 miles on the car so I knew I got that close to it. But it says 30 days and/or 1,000 miles. They told me that I wasn't in the system yet so there was nothing they could do. It’s frustrating. So, on the day when I looked and saw information for a consumer, I went through them and let them know what kind of crap was going on because I didn't think that was right.

    People should not go to Carchex because if this situation comes up for them, they're gonna go through the same thing I'm going through right now, and that's not a fair deal. I’m not satisfied at all. When I signed up with them, I thought it was great. But Carchex doesn’t have the decency or the gumption to contact people. They hang up, disconnect the call, transfer, hold people on the line for 15 to 20 minutes and say that they sent them to cancellation and you go to voicemail.

However, the follow through wasn't that great. Once all of the discounts were sorted, they were supposed to send me a contract that was updated with those prices.     Have been with Carchex for 2 months now. First of all, the book they send you of what they DO NOT cover is huge. I purchased the Silver plan. About a little over a month My alternator went out which was approx. 600.00. Carchex initially wanted to pay about half of that or less. They DO NOT COVER the fee to look over the vehicle for problems. I heard the Adjuster "Tony" on the phone with my repair guy and he was BEYOND rude. Very abrasive guy this was. My mechanic informed me that they were partnered up with Carchex and had to complain through Corporate to get my price down to which they were successful. So Fed up with Carchex only after my first repair I made the decision to cancel. I have been on the phone over 2 hours now, not talking to anyone that could help me cancel. This is NOT the same people that sold me the contract in the first place....Once they get your direct deposit payment you are hooked. Buyers beware!

    My wife called Carchex, then we both talked to them and they sent us a brochure. The purchase went okay. There's a time limit of 30 days and 500 miles before anything goes into effect and we're waiting on that, but the initial seemed on the up-and-up. It’s hard to tell anything over the phone, but once we look over the contract, then we'll make a final decision and go from there. My wife handles a lot of the investigations on different items and she's thorough, so I trust her judgment as far as the paperwork. Also, we called CarShield and their pricing was high. However, there are a lot of loopholes and also wiggle room in their contract. They want documentation of all your maintenance and verifiable documentation. If you miss an oil change or you’re late on an all change, they have the possibility of not covering something. Also, they use another carrier. They're not the administrator of the policy. They implement the policy, but the bottom line is whether something is approved or not has to go through their underwriters in a warranty claim.

    The explanation came out good as far as the warranty and deductibles. I had a warranty on a previous vehicle, and the engine went out on it. It didn't go completely out, but it kept coming up with a check engine light. When I went to the warranty company to see about getting a new engine because all the mechanics said new engine, they said I hadn't maintained the vehicle to their specifications. I said, "What I did is according to the manufacturer's specifications, which is every 6,000 to 7,000 miles on changing the oil." They said, "But our warranty specifies 3,000 miles." I was out of warranty coverage. One of the things that I double-checked with Carchex was what their specifications were. Did I have to do it every 3,000 or 6,000 to 7,000 like the manufacturer suggested? They said, "No. It's according to manufacturer's suggested." I said, "That's great."     I have a 2012 Dodge Durango that I put on warranty with Carchex. I felt a little rushed, though. I couldn't get all my questions answered. The rep made me feel like I was asking questions as if I was having problem with my vehicle, which I was not. I was just asking questions to make sure that I was getting the right car protection. Also, she did not explain to me that the purchase price is $4,299. She didn't give me a total. She just said I'll pay $119.43. Also, they're called Carchex, but when you get your policy it says it's called American Auto Shield. That should have been explained to me too.

    I just purchased another car but I didn't go with Carchex because I didn't like what the lady did. But I would like to commend the rep because when I called the other warranty company, they were bashing Carchex. But when I mentioned to the rep about the other provider, she didn't say anything bad.     Carchex was less expensive than the other provider I was looking at and I was very satisfied with how the purchase went. The only thing was when they tell you the mileage for the coverage, they do not state that that includes your current mileage. When they say the policy's 100,000 miles, they're not saying 100,000 miles. They're saying the difference between what you already have on your car, like 60,000 and hitting 100,000. So the warranty only covers 40,000, not 100,000. That was a little deceiving. The other thing I didn't care about was the 30-day grace period. I'm not driving that much so I'm finding myself having to go out and drive around so that when the 30 days come up and my policy should kick in, I've reached the mileage.

So, they graduate me to an extended warranty meaning that the main things may go wrong by the vehicle getting up in age.     Carchex can make it a bit easier to get quotes without having to talk to a person. When you go to their website, it tells you to put in your information for an instant quote, and that's a lie. It just takes your information and then sales guys start calling you. If it says I can buy online and I can get a quote online, how do they know I'm not sitting at work and I don't want someone calling me at that moment? Maybe I'm in a meeting and I'm just playing on the internet and I don't want them to know it. Maybe I'm an educated person who can read the benefits and I just want to buy it without having to go through that call where they read to me what I already know.

    What the website really is saying is get a phone call right now. Carchex needs to be clear about that in their marketing. The first time I did it, they called me and I told them I wasn't interested. Three weeks went by and I thought, “Man, my warranty’s expiring so I’m gonna have to suck it up.” Apart from that, the reps were great and the benefits of the plan are very similar with SilverRock. However, SilverRock was 50% less expensive and I had only a $50 deductible. I saved a lot more money with it, but sadly, it expired.

    Also, with the initial stuff I got online from Carchex, I had a 30-day and 500-mile waiting period from the day that I got the warranty. They sent me the book in the mail and it said 30 days and 1,000 miles. They tried to change it up on me, and it's a small difference normally, but during COVID, that's a big difference. I had to call them and they fixed it, which is why I stayed with them. I didn’t like that very much though, because the average consumer is not going to read that big book and realize that it said something different than what they were told and what their initial email said.

    I have a 2015 Subaru Forester. It's a very good car and I only have 72,000 miles on it. My warranty on my car was either 100,000 miles or seven years. I maxed out on the seven years. I also bought the extended warranty that covered everything. That is exactly what I wanted and the gentleman that I spoke with was able to give me the similar package, good through 120,000 miles for the next three years. I was happy with how much it was per month.

    Having a protection plan is very valuable. I just had to have my entire front axle replaced, for the CV. The way that the Subarus do it, when you have a bad CV boot in the front, it's connected in with the axle. They replaced the whole thing. My extended warranty that I had covered it, so all I had to do was pay $100. It was going to be almost $900 to have it done. When things are that expensive, you need a warranty to make sure you're going to be covered. I'm 75 years old and I don't want to have to come up with 1,000 or 2,000, or if the transmission would go, up to $5,000.

    I did some research before I chose Carchex. It's not the most expensive or the top of the line. It's number three of the top five. I checked out the other two, and they were much too high for the same product, so I decided to go with Carchex. I had a very good experience with them and although I haven't had to use it yet, I'm very happy with the program that I got.

    My friend recommended me to CARCHEX and I didn't get what he told me about it. He said that there was gonna be a $100 deductible and I could have unlimited mileage. But when I went out and then they brought me in on it, there was nothing like those. I got it for four years and I have 6,000 to 8,000 miles on it, and he told me that I'd get 125,000. Then we had to do it again. Since I had 6,000 to 8,000 miles, he told me that I still couldn't use them. I had to put 5,000 miles on my car. My anniversary day is gonna be on the 22nd of this month. If anything happened, they'd tell me that they won't be able to do anything, so I didn't put 5,000 or better on it.

    The only thing I'm disappointed at is that I didn't get the pack that my friend got. He had unlimited mileage and he got to pay the $100. He told me about the $100, I'm $133. What he told me $100 deductible, I'm doing $200 deductible, so I'm a little bit bent out of shape with that, but I'm in it right now. They'll just posh out and give some people things. Overall, I'm paying for something that I really don't want to pay.

Then sometimes, it's hard to get ahold of the person you're dealing with when you make the decision. But I was able to get ahold of somebody at CARCHEX. My representative was not available to speak at the time, but my information was on file and I paid for my warranty.     I Google and read some B2B and the two names that kept coming up were Carchex and Endurance. I went with Endurance to start with but the guy there was terrible. I have a hearing disability and he was not willing to accommodate that. I told him to go pound sand. The next day, Carchex called. I spoke with a rep and it was to respond to the sheet I had filled out the night before. She was awesome. She immediately made me feel I was important and what I wanted was important even though she wasn't pushing herself.

    She connected me to another rep and he did a great job hearing my dilemma and why I didn't buy a warranty from the dealer. He talked through things and told me what he had. I could have been more curious but I wasn't because he satisfied what it was that I wanted to know. I mentioned to him my story with Endurance and about how I'm a disabled veteran. He said they had stuff for veterans and I got an $800 discount for being one, which was awesome. The thing I liked about Endurance was it’s an entirely self-enclosed organization where Carchex is outsourcing and they are the handler. But I didn't see the cost saving to Endurance’s approach. It's about on par. Theirs was 4,700 and Carchex was 4,800. Cheaper for me would be by 10%.

    The only thing is I would like more details available online so folks who are in my position don't have to sit on the phone and listen when that's not always advantageous. Carchex could also provide a link to the different plans. Consumers end up getting forced into a specific plan that's most advantageous to the vendor and not to the consumers. Companies come with a plan that they think would fit a consumer. But I want something that reasonably ties to what I have. Here's my pay and here's what my budget is. On the Carchex side, that wasn't bad. But it would be nice to self-service the whole thing like I do an insurance policy with USAA. I log into the system and it gives me all my options there. I'm fully aware of everything. At the end of it, you do this closure where you agree to these things and you put your signature.

    I called Carchex to see what the prices were and then apparently, they went through with that transaction. The only way, allegedly by the rep, to save the rate was to give them my card. So, I gave them that and told them I’d call back when I'm ready. Then my card got charged and I called back telling them that and cancelled. Dealing with the rep was good other than they ended up charging my card when I never confirmed it.

    I was looking for limited coverage, covering head to toe, and the rep explained to me, that the max coverage that they would pay would be the value of my car. That didn’t make sense. Some of these parts could potentially become more expensive than the car. So that was the biggest concern with having coverage. If Carchex was to cover past the value of the car, that would be a good option for me. But so far, with extensive research that I've done, not a lot of people do that. I was satisfied with the service that Carchex gave me. It's just that the quantitative values of the contract was what made or break the deal. The customer service was very nice to me.

    Carchex is a SCAM! DO NOT purchase their warranty products! Prior to purchasing the top-of-the-line warranty plan from Carchex I did some research and they had pretty good reviews. I got on the phone with one of their sales reps and specifically asked about transmission and turbo coverage since my car is infamous for these parts failing. The sales rep assured me these are completely covered and all that I would have to pay out of pocket is the $100 deductible.

    Fast forward 3 months transmission ended up failing, when it came to Carchex covering it they "found" a used transmission to come up with a base price that they would cover which was around $3k ($9k less than a new transmission). Too bad this transmission was actually imaginary and did not actually exist when the dealership tried sourcing it. Long story short Carchex covered about $6k out of the $16k job and I was on the hook for the rest! You're better off putting the cash in a savings account and using that in the event of a breakdown. I do not recommend this company!

    They did not cover my claim because by putting my repair part into one of their exclusion parts. Even tho it's not the same part I provide the part number and receipt and their explanation is this part also comes under the exclusion part even tho it's not the same part of the same description. Also, the sale agent makes fraud and deceptive statements by saying that your car is (BUMPER TO BUMPER COVER). I will not recommend anyone this company. Rest is your choice.
