    My vehicle was an older model, so it was either I get a warranty for it or buy a new car. So I have been looking at a few coverage providers, but I got scammed a couple of times and I became weary of them. However, the gentleman that I talked to from CARCHEX was nice and told me where to go to check out everything. He gave me a thumbs up on my vehicles. He wasn't pushy unlike others that I had talked to and he was good. I just got my protection plan and I haven't had any problems with my car, but when something does happen to it I'm sure they'll be right on the spot.

    I signed up with CARCHEX and I'm hoping that it's worth it since I really can't afford the $133.24 monthly fee but I'm gonna pay for it anyway. Their representative called me a couple of times. He told me that a new motor would cost about $5000 or $6000 and an AC would be as much. Furthermore, he said that the policy would cover bumper-to-bumper. He was trying to work with me and was trying to get me something lower. However if I'm gonna get something, might as well be a bumper-to-bumper coverage. I'm hoping the coverage would be as he said though. I'm supposed to have received a package in the mail but I still haven't gotten anything. Nevertheless, I haven't had issues with my truck as yet so thus far, I'm happy with CARCHEX. But they're gonna have to prove to me that they're gonna cover my truck bumper-to-bumper when something happens to it.

    I have a 2012 Mercedes R350 that had the fuel level sensor go bad. Warranty states I must use an authorized Mercedes mechanic for repairs. I took it to the service department @ the dealership in Birmingham, AL and Assurant Solutions, the Admin, will only cover the cost of a used part and then expects the dealership to warranty if it doesn't work or I have to pay the difference for the new part! The dealership is NOT going to put a used part on my car and warranty it. I paid $5400 with a $100 deductible for the Titanium package. I'm now expected to pay $500 for what the difference is between the used and new part. When I contacted both companies, they blame each other. Assurant states they are following the provisions of CARCHEX and CARCHEX transfers me back to Assurant, which keeps me on hold for 20-30 minutes. DO NOT PURCHASE A WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY!

    I need to take care of my automobile and make sure that I have coverage because it's going to expire soon. CARCHEX salesperson contacted me and he was very persistent.     I'm at 89,000 miles on my car and I know that I'm going to need an extended warranty. It's very important and I'm hoping that I don't need it, but it's better safe than sorry. Carchex was the only ones that called me back and I feel comfortable because I went through the BBB and did a background check. Their reviews are good. Their specialist, Stephanie, was very helpful and explained the whole packet from top to bottom.     My overall experience with CARCHEX and their overall customer service were great. Having a vehicle protection plan is very valuable. I ran into a couple of things since I’ve had the car and I feel at ease having my warranty. It’s like having car insurance as one never knows what’s gonna happen. My original warranty expired and I’m not good picking out stuff like warranties. Normally, the car dealership that I bought my car from does everything for me but they weren’t able to do it this time. So I went online and put in a quote for a cheap warranty and all different kinds of warranty companies popped up. I inquired and then they called back. There was a lot of people telling me that I could get bumper-to-bumper coverage but my car dealership was telling me that I couldn’t get bumper-to-bumper on it. The guy from CARCHEX was more polite, very honest and nice. He explained the warranty more to me, what it all covers, and that I had bumper-to-bumper coverage. He told me the truth and that I was correct about the warranty because I did some research before I even started so I would know what warranty I was getting.

    I had CARCHEX with the same vehicle before then I lost my credit card. They weren’t taking the payment that I authorized because I lost my credit card number. I got a new one that’s why they couldn’t deduct it. And I’ve been so busy with work that they cancelled my membership so I said I’ll make a new one. They have been okay so far and they're the best one I could find lately that’s why I picked them.

    The process of reestablishing my account with them was a perfect process. The guy who helped me out was really good, everything was fine. I told him I wanted the same plan and I added a little bit more miles, so he told me it was gonna be $10 more a month. I understand as it’s probably my fault. I should’ve never lost my credit card and I’ll take the $10 loss ‘cause they have been doing well. Every time I had a problem on my car, all I had to do was pay that $100 deductible. It’s really valuable having a protection plan. One's screwed if he doesn’t have when he has a foreign car. I like CARCHEX, they're awesome.

    I bought a vehicle where I'm the second owner and I thought it wouldn't hurt to have an extended warranty. CARCHEX was the first one that called and I got a policy from them that took effect on the 3rd of this month. The man who got in touch with me knew his job and was very professional. It went very smoothly and I didn't have to repeat much of anything. It was very self-explanatory with the way he put it. He explained to me the different coverage they have like the Gold, Platinum, etc. Nevertheless, it seemed to me like most of the plans were about the same, so I decided on something that I could afford. I think the extended warranty is just as valuable as when you buy a vehicle that's new. Hopefully I'll never know how good the protection is, but it gives me peace of mind.     CARCHEX contacted me and said I can have a 30-day look into their policy as a kind of buyer's remorse period. However, I question whether it is really connected with Toyota, the validity of what I think I'm getting, and if I'm getting the best deal. The thing is that I don't really believe in vehicle protection. It's like life insurance for a car but like I told the representative, one doesn't really buy life insurance when one knows they are dying.

    But their representatives were very nice, informative and professional. They did everything they said they would do. When they first contacted me, I had a deadline - I needed to fly out and I couldn't even talk about it at that time. I was gone for a week but they contacted me after that, like they said. I'm waiting to see my hard copy of the policy so I can read it and see what they excluded. But I would definitely tell my friends to check CARCHEX out.

    I received a mail from CARCHEX and then I called them. They gave me a good plan so I thought that I should buy it. I have the CARCHEX premium. The overall process was easy and good all the way. Since it was my first time, I didn't understood it properly in the beginning because I don't know all the terms.     So, when I initially got this order, the guy told me it was too late to cancel because he had already processed the payment but, that I would be satisfied with the service. I waited two weeks before I actually got something in the mail. Upon reading reviews and going through the booklet they provide, I started asking them question since I didn't understand what was covered from what was not and they started getting upset with the question I asked. I had my father call and they again couldn't answer the questions. My friend was the one who recommended them. Went back to her since she was having car issues for her to say she canceled them since the third party claim person she went through kept denying her claim.

    SO when I called to cancel, they first were so busy that no one was able to handle my call personally, which is what the automated system says after you have been on hold for a too long. Called to the sales department which you get someone on the phone in less than 3 seconds, who says he has to transfer me to customer service where the cycle repeats of them not answering the phone. After numerous attempts you get someone on the phone, they make you jump through hoops to cancel and but you don't make them jump through hoops to receive a payment. I am still waiting to speak to someone and will probably end up closing my account for them not to charge it. Then that means I also won't be receiving the money they have charged so far back.

    Carchex has reached out and resolved the issues I had with my claim. As a consumer I would advise to try to follow the directions of the company as much as possible. In the case of Carchex, a third party approves or denies the claims and we (consumers) don't know that, unfortunately, until we run into an issue. I'm please that they did follow up with me directly and do value our business.

    Do not buy anything from this company and do not believe when they say you will only pay $100 deductible and have bumper to bumper coverage! Since I've bought my coverage two years ago, this company has barely covered any of the issues I had with my van. One claim was totally denied and the other was paid at less than half of the price it cost to repair. Do not believe when they say they will cover the cost at any facility. They will only cover based on "Nationally Recognized Labor Time Guide" of which they are not specific and will adjust the amount of your claim down to whatever they deem appropriate. So if you paid $500 for your repair, you will likely get a check for $199. The salesperson and any customer service rep will tell you exactly what you want to hear, but when it comes to filing a claim, you will not get your money's worth from this company.

    I challenge you to find a positive review from a real customer who actually filed a claim. DON'T DO IT! Stay far away. You're better off putting the same payment in an account for yourself and saving it for your car repairs because at the end of the day you will be paying double for your car issues. Basically you are paying Carchex a couple thousand dollars for nothing!

    Company is unorganized. Made 3 attempts to talk to a supervisor. Never called back. Dealer contacted me to contact them concerning a payments that I made on time (mistake by company) then denied my claim which cause me to lose my job cause of their irresponsibilities. Claim was denied without proper reason. The company is completely a scam. Do not consider them for protection. They will try anything to not cover your vehicle. Recently contacted a lawyer and I'm pursuing with a lawsuit. Completely horrible company.

    Be very careful when you purchase an extended warranty. I purchase one from Carchex. My Dodge Ram pick up (diesel) had to be towed. I had it sent to the Dodge dealer. It was only after I started the process that I understood the fine print. Be aware that the repair labor rate Carchex is will to pay could be significantly less than a typical dealer will charge. The dealer I took it to charges $125/hr, Carchex would only pay $100/hr. My repair took quite a few hours so the $ add up quickly.

    Typically dealer mark up any material they install on your vehicle. Carchex would not pay the dealer price and chose to send the part to the dealer (turbo charger and other material). Of course the dealer will charge you a fee to handle the material receipt/handling. The net effect was that it took 30 days to get my truck fixed. The dealer will not warranty the repair as they didn't provide the material. The warranty did save me some money, but was extremely frustrating. Not sure it was worth it.

    My experience was terrible. Like most people buy a warranty cause you like your car and figure cheaper than buying a new car but then I had transmission trouble. Carchex and American Auto Shield had my lic. auto repair shop take complete transmission apart, did several test, filming and photos only to turn my claim down. Now I have a SUV sitting at a shop with the transmission completely taken apart. I did drive it there but now it's pay for everything myself or have my SUV towed to junkyard.

    Would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Did pay me back the 4 months I paid but deduct the $250.00 I had to pay to take apart to prove transmission was blown cannot do much with balance. Will never buy another. I was told they wanted to see computerized work orders from auto shop that performed maintenance. Not all shops are on computer systems. I am a realtor and for 22 yrs gave clients home warranties and never had the problems I have had with auto warranty from Carchex.

    I get a extended warranty with Carchex and when my car broke they want to paid for parts from a self service junkyard. I file all complaints with the BBB. Don't believe them about you only paid $100 deductible is a lie. Then they will said "We don't cover all." And they will hang the phone on you.     I did some consumer checking on Carchex and I just decided to give them a shot at it. I’ve done two or three of these extended warranty before and they’ve all worked out fairly well. They aren’t giving away parts and they wanted to fight for claims which is disturbing. We should be able to just say “Well, I got a radiator leak. We need to have it fixed.” And that’s what we paid for. And not go through the hoop-jumping of, “We’d have to have it inspected and we have to do this, we have to do that.” I always take it to the dealership and have my car serviced. If the dealer says we need a radiator, we need a radiator. We don’t need to have a discussion about whether we need a radiator. But other than that, Carchex is pretty standard. I haven’t had any claims yet with them so we’ll see what happens.

    Purchasing the coverage wasn’t difficult and complicated. The rep was positive and thoroughly assisted me. I asked him to send me a copy of the policy so I can review it and make sure it has the benefits that I want, and that's what he did that. I went online and got the details on the policy that I was purchasing. The price was within $5 of everybody else’s and that would be acceptable. We’re planning on keeping the vehicle for a few more years. I don’t own vehicles today that aren’t under warranty as they’re too expensive to maintain.

    On January 11, 2016, I spoke with a representative and he led me to believe that this was a one time charge of $166.33. I asked him twice and he said "yes" it was a one-time charge. I received the paperwork a month later, but reviewing my checking account the charge appeared again. It's a monthly charge. I called them and another representative claimed to hear the recording in which he did not play it back to me. I would never have agreed to this charge. It was too good to be true. I left several messages and no one has returned my call. I had to close my account because of this. Just awful and disgusting way to deceive people's hard earned money. Very disgusted.

    I noticed a lot of good reviews. Initially I was rather impressed, however upon further scrutiny I found something rather interesting. Most of them have very similar content. This looks a bit suspect to me for the following reasons: A real customer does not use the terms "protection plan" and "protection specialist". There are numerous reviews that use one or both of these terms in some shape or form. A normal customer would refer to it in layman's terms as an "extended warranty" (even though technically they are not selling a warranty per say). A normal customer would not call it a "protection plan" since that's industry/insider jargon. The majority of real customers likely don't know that the term "protection plan" exists.

    Secondly, a normal customer would likely use the term "customer service rep", or "sales agent", or "sales rep". Why do the majority of these reviews refer to the sales rep as a "protection specialist"? I've never heard of a "protection specialist" until now, as the term "protection specialist" seems to be Carchex corporate or industry lingo for sales rep. How do all these reviewers know to use that term? This tells me to take these reviews with a big grain of salt.

    On to my own review... I did purchase their 5yr/60k Titanium plan. After shopping around I did find this to be the best exclusionary ext-warranty (aka protection plan) for my car, at least on paper. My sales rep (aka protection specialist) was courteous and helpful. However, I can't really rate a product that I have yet to use. If and when I need to file a claim, the big test of how good Carchex is will come when they actually put their money where their mouth is and pay a claim. Or will they give me the runaround and find some way to deny it? That remains to be seen, so I'll come back and update my review once I actually experience their service.

    I purchased the CARCHEX Premium Level Plan for my late model used car. While the CARCHEX people were cordial, the warranty was handed off to a second company called Royal Administration. The people at Royal were insufferable and as bad as it gets. BEWARE of the two pages of exclusionary provisions you will not know about till after you purchase the plan. The exclusionary provisions make it able for Royal (CARCHEX) to deny most ANY repair you will run into. At this point the warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.

    I had to call CARCHEX three times to get them to respond to the repair and once they certified everything and said "okay, we will go ahead and cover everything", they never called back to give the contractors their money. I was sitting for two hours waiting on them to call back and they called 5:00 o'clock central time. So, I wrote a check for the full amount of the payment for the work they did because they took all day. Now, I don't know how it's going to work. If they going to send the contractors the check for $70 and then I get that back together with my $100 deposit. I ought to get back $170. I'm paying $125 a month for their service and if they're going to do warranties they need to do it. This is the first time I've used it and I wish they would give me a little more attention and proactive about my concern of taking care of the company.

    My car didn't have a warranty so I got an extended coverage from CARCHEX because they're a little bit cheaper. Initially, my interactions with the protection specialist were fine. But today, I'm not very happy with them. I was told two different types of information when I signed up initially. At first, they said that my December payment would be pushed back until January. But I got a letter yesterday saying that they went through my account in December, they didn't get a payment, and so I need to make a payment today else my policy will cancel.

    I initially called CARCHEX and got through to someone for about two minutes. Then I've been put on hold for 30 minutes with Assurant Solutions which is the one that holds the admin part. And when I did get someone, I was then transferred to another department. The rep from Assurant told me that they didn't have my payment issue information in the system, they're not sure why I was told that and it wasn't correct. The Assurant rep also told me that I can call back on Friday to look at payment. This is all miscommunication. I did not receive my contract and a billing statement from when I was re-signed up. And then also I can't even make a payment online or over the phone since I have to have some accounts to do automatic withdrawals which I don't like.

    I bought a vehicle with limited coverage, since I wanted to extend it in case something happens, I decided to acquire one for my car. I went with CARCHEX because they seemed to have decent ratings and they were able to immediately give the answers I needed at the time. Purchasing the plan was fine. Afterwards, that is where I have the issue. I told them that I wanted to move my payment dates towards the end of the month and that I had some further questions in regards to the extended warranty.     Over a year ago My son bought a 2004 F-250 diesel with 86,000 miles on it. I encouraged him to purchase an aftermarket warranty so as not to get saddled with high repair costs. Well since he bought the warranty there have been transmission issues that they refused to cover, fuel injection control module, glow plug harness, fuel injector, and more all totaling thousands of dollars. Now they are refusing to cover the fuel lines because they say they have rust on them? They are on the bottom of the vehicle, how does one prevent that? They are also not covering the e-brake which is a 1700.00 part. They have done nothing but find loophole after loophole to not cover what should be covered parts. Wear and tear? Rust? Previously installed part? We paid extra to pay for diesel and four wheel drive coverage.

    Why in the world do you buy a warranty in the first place if they aren't going to cover the unforeseen? What part does not experience wear? Isn't that why you buy a warranty for when these things eventually wear out or fail? How can you cite rust as a reason not to cover a part? Isn't rust part of what happens to exposed parts?

    There is also an issue with the four wheel drive that they are sending an inspector to look at. Who wants to bet he will find a reason that's not covered. Everything is wonderful with them until you have to get something covered. This has got to be the worst investment we have ever made. Are ALL warranty companies this way? I bought a warranty 3 years ago with Carchex and have never had to use it. Guess I am lucky.

    After 7 months my Honda Civic started making a rattle at startup. I took it to 3 different mechanic (most people don't accept Carchex) turns out the timing chain was stretched and needed to be tightened. The vehicle also needs valves and seals since it is burning a little oil... They do not cover valves and seals because it is a wear item. They will not cover the timing chain or anything related to oil loss. (This contradicts the terms and condition that they cover all lubricated parts.) I paid 6 months of warranty and got nothing. They will say anything to deny your claim. All the hassle... and all taxis and car rentals came out of my pocket. Don't waste your money!!

    I recently purchased warranty from CARCHEX and so far, it's been very good. The sales representative was very informative, detailed and professional. They made sure you know what you're getting into when you're buying the plan. I was very aware that I could cancel at any time within a 30 or 60-day period. I would recommend them. They have a real good underwriting company, insurance company that provides the goods, services and products behind CARCHEX. There's a bigger company behind them and I've found out they were rated very well in Wall Street.

    Unfortunately I'm starting to think twice about keeping my CARCHEX warranty because I realized that they may be covering stuff that's already covered in my two-year warranty policy with Toyota. The deductibles are also the same. I have to do some of my due diligence research to see what exactly that two-year warranty with Toyota covers because if they're the same it's a no-brainer to cancel. Also, as a consumer I realized that generally, as a rule, if I get a person to work on the car other than Toyota, I'd break the two-year warranty I have with them. That's a problem but I may have to see because they indicate in the paperwork that I could actually choose a Toyota dealership mechanic to do the work. So there are some variables to cover.

    Additionally, from what I understand from the pamphlet and literature of CARCHEX, they don't pay upfront and you have to pay your deductible. So I'm paying a deductible when I'm also paying $73 a month which is not going towards the deductible. That's the only thing I have a problem with. It should be a little bit lower, like within a $40-$50 range. It's also too bad they don't partner with AARP because I'll probably be paying lower than that a month. I may end up shopping through AARP because I'm a member. Also, there's a lot of companies that do not provide warranty service for mechanical and electrical work inside the state of California because there are laws against that. But CARCHEX has a license to practice in the state of California so it was hard for me to get coverage for my car.

    I got a letter saying that I needed to contact Carchex immediately for additional coverage. In the past, I either had an engine go on me within the first three months or towards the end of the year, like after two years of me almost paying the vehicle off, my transmission went out. I started reading onto the letter and realized that having additional coverage might help repair with my transmission and stuff so I looked into it to see how much it would cost.     Carchex did a good job in general. The salesperson I usually deal with and the sales process of Carchex have been good too. Everybody has been polite and they answered my questions. I was trying one time to get somebody to go over and do an estimate or a checkup on a car, but I had a lot of trouble with that and I could never get that established. Even so, I’ve had good experiences with them and they’ve been very fair. My bank account didn’t have the money to take out the payment, but they still worked with me. I had an $8,000 claim that they paid or tried to pay right away on my 2005 BMW to replace the drive shaft. Thank God I had the policy because if I didn’t have it, I probably wouldn’t be driving that car today.

    I decided to get an extended coverage for my vehicle when Ford told me that they only cover any internal parts of my car. Although the last time the car was checked, they told me that it was bumper-to-bumper, and I know that it means they take care of everything, except for the brakes shoe and stuff like that.
