    I'm an older person and having an extended warranty gives me some security. If I'm traveling and on the road, having a coverage is helpful. Someone from CARCHEX called me, and I discussed everything with one of their representatives and decided that I would switch from the company that I had because although CARCHEX cost more, they have a better package, and then I would be getting additional mileage coverage that I didn't have with the package that I had.

    The reps I spoke with were pleasant and easy to talk to. They weren't pushy and were patient with me and gave me the opportunity to get the package when I was able to. Overall, I had a good experience. When I asked them to call me back and unfortunately, I wasn't able to respond to them as I have expected it that time. But they called me back at a later time as I asked. I would recommend CARCHEX.

    Having a protection plan for my car is very valuable. I want to keep my car for as long as I can, and with a Camaro, the parts are very expensive. My current warranty kept declining everything I sent. I work for a security company which uses ADT and they gave us a discount. I checked into CARCHEX and it covers more than what I have now and is cheaper. Their rep was really nice and respectful. He described the warranty in very good detail and was a good guy in general.

    My auto coverage had run out, and I’ve been doing some due diligence on the internet trying to find a decent warranty company. I ran across CARCHEX and did some more due diligence on it. The three other companies I called were not really interested in anything but getting the check. They gave me the runaround every time I would try to call and tried to sell me extra coverage. But CARCHEX didn't. They told me what I wanted is what I get. The protection specialist was really professional, courteous, and treated me with the utmost respect. He wasn't trying to upsell me. And I told him I would call him back once I do a little bit more due diligence.

    I'm happy to have a protection plan. It is really good to have a warranty on your car because, with the newer cars, all of the equipment and the computer checks are computer-based now. The local mom and pop shops can't work on the car anymore so you have to take them in. Most of the mom and pop shops don't have the resources to access the warranty that CARCHEX can offer. I was really grateful and I feel lucky to talk to CARCHEX. It was an outstanding experience.

    I've had CARCHEX extended warranty before and I do not deal with people that band-aid things. When I called them, I got the right kind of person to talk to. At first, I thought they forgot me. Then, they called and I gave my credit card. Their rep was excellent. We were laughing and having a good time. He explained a lot of things to me. It's going to take a month for the warranty to go into effect and I will get a notification. My experience has been great.

    I reached out to CARCHEX looking for a free quote and one of their associates emailed and then called me back. He was very persistent and he gave me the information. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything regarding the warranty and how it worked. I told him I needed some time to think about it because the dollar amount was kind of high.

    I knew the price range I was trying to stay in, and he was very thorough and very appreciative of it, but he was continuously calling me, a few days after a few days. But I understood that they were doing their job. It was the same warranty that I was looking at from other companies, and because I had done a little bit of homework and research and knew that that was the warranty that I wanted, their price was the best. Their team was very thorough in explaining all the benefits of the plan to me. The vehicle protection plan is worth having, especially if you don't have plans on purchasing a new vehicle every three or four or five years where you get the factory warranty with it. I like my vehicle, and I would rather pay a few thousand dollars for an extended warranty than spend $30,000 or $40,000 on a new car. I'd definitely recommend CARCHEX.

    I was searching for an extended warranty and saw that CARCHEX is one of the top 10. When I looked at it, they offered a warranty that other companies don't offer. For example, if an item needs to be replaced, they replace it. It doesn't have to be broken until it's replaced, plus a few other things too. The rep I spoke with was great. Everything he told me was what I wanted to hear. The price was very competitive and they deal directly with the dealers. I've read a lot of great reviews and not happy reviews as well. Nonetheless, everything was great.

    CARCHEX provided extended coverage for my vehicle before and when the current service was getting ready to expire on my car, I got them again. CARCHEX offers a very good plan and they told me about what was going to expire and how I could get more coverage. Having a protection plan is very valuable given that I have a Saab. But Saab has gone out of business and no longer make Saab. I talked to the guy on the phone for the purchase of the plan and it was easy. He was very friendly and gave excellent service. They have a low deductible too. All went very well and I had a fantastic experience.

    I'm very pleased with CARCHEX. My wife has a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe that she bought new and it has a bigger engine. It has leather interior and the car still looks brand new. So when the 10-year, 100,000-mile Hyundai warranty ran out, we purchased the extended warranty from CARCHEX. I watch the car channels a lot because I have a hot rod, and in one of the shows on Velocity, the expert mechanic that has been on the show for 20 years is their spokesperson. And I have selected CARCHEX because they have been around long enough and have a well-known auto mechanic celebrity representing them.

    So far, we used the warranty on one minor repair on the car, which they covered, and we had no issues. And recently, I got a call from their representative and he offered us a new extended warranty for another 40 years and an additional 40,000 miles. So instead of replacing the car, we went with their offer. The representative I spoke with was really nice. Not only did I enjoy talking to him, but he really helped us get a plan that was better suited for us. All in all, having a protection plan is very valuable. In one of our other cars, the transmission needed replacing and it was going to be $17,000 and so, we ended up getting rid of the car and getting a new one because it's cheaper to get a new car than to repair it.

    I was looking on the internet for an extended warranty for my car. I called several companies and they're pretty good but expensive. CARCHEX’s rate is affordable and I like the protection plan. Purchasing it was an easy process and the rep was great. The plan is very valuable because I have a 2006 car model, so anything can happen.     No way! I had purchased a car that was an 2005. I had a second car so I didn't drive this one this much. My buddy told me to get a extended warranty cause I bought a ten year old car. I thought about and said thats probably a good idea. I had the car for months without a warranty on it and did some research. Carchex was one of the top google searches. I even looked at these reviews here. I finally purchased a contract for everything to be covered including the engine. My contract did not come with a name like Titanium! Contract was $170 per month and I had made 3 payments... Friggin car starts putting and stops on the side of the road. I didnt even actually know I had towing until after I towed it home then called a few days later. I was just rushed through the contract purchasing process.

    Called. They said I needed to get the car towed to where I wanted it fixed. Did that and the place I had it towed said it would be better to have a dealership fix it. Thats customer service right there! Had the car towed to a Cadillac dealership and the process was underway. Waited a few days and finally said that they would not proceed with the claim because the miles were off. They said the miles given when contract was purchased was 144k and the actual miles were 117k.

    They asked me to get service records. I told them I didnt have them cause I had only driven the car 7k. I dont think that is astronomically out of hand for car maintenance. I had no lights or anything and synthetic oil. They said since there are no service records then Needed the purchase agreement to verify miles. Gave them that and then they said they still cant process the claim cause they said it was a pre-existing condition. I will even accept that I could have misspoken and told them 114k or they typed in a different number... But they also will not give me the refund I asked for minus the towing fees. Paid $450 in and no service. To top it off they offered to renew the contract after I fixed the car out of my own pocket. Really?

    I have a 2008 Mercedes Benz E350. I bought it used from a car dealership and I bought a 2-year warranty for it. I bought a Mercedes before and I know that it's expensive to fix if something goes wrong and I didn't like that so I looked into getting an extended warranty. I went online and called the first provider who came up but I didn't like how their rep talked. I then called the second one who came up which was CARCHEX and went with them because their rep was exceptionally nice and answered all my questions. I bought the extended warranty but it just seems like it's awful that you're going to spend $6,000 for two years. It's a lot. But it does cover what I think it should.

    I went with CARCHEX and was told I could upgrade or change my package within 30 days. Well towards the end of my 30 days I upgraded to the gold package but was told I would not have to start over my 1000 miles and 30 days but I upgraded and they told me I had to do another thousand miles and another 30 days so I would not be covered for the first 2000 miles and the first 60 days. Then after that they just cancelled me for no reason!!!! I would not recommend this place for anyone unless you want to waste your time and throw your money away. Very disgusted with this place!!! So here I sit 60 days or so later and still have no warranty and got to start over with another company. Beware of this place!!!!

    I bought a truck that came with 3,000 miles so I wanted to make sure I get a warranty on it. I googled providers and Carchex has good reviews so I went with them. Buying the extended warranty from them was very easy and their rep was very easy to talk to, nice, helpful and knowledgeable. He had all the information that I needed to know and I didn't even have to ask so many questions. He took my truck size and all and I was even driving when I gave my information. He sent over my options and I checked it out the next day and accepted it. For what the warranty costs, it's very valuable.     I purchased a car and I needed coverage on it so I could make it last. I checked the reviews on CARCHEX and a couple others and CARCHEX has the better offer. It has a lot of bad reviews but it has some good reviews too, so I went with them. Their rep was very informative and explained things to me. I had a problem with getting the payment set up and he worked with me and pushed it back for me. He told me I would be receiving the card and paperwork in the mail but I never received anything. They took the payment and that's the last I heard from them. That was almost a month ago. Right now, things are so tight, I don't know if I'm going to be able to afford it.

    If CARCHEX works like it says, it's very valuable. But there's a lot of reviews from customers who had problems getting claims because the company tells them it was an existing warranty. If something goes wrong with my car, it was existing no matter what. It can't just pop out of thin air. I paid for a warranty, I should expect it to be covered no matter what. If others would ask me about CARCHEX, I'd tell them to give it a try.

    I was happy to be doing business with CARCHEX. I have an older vehicle and nowadays, you never know what may happen. It's very valuable to have a vehicle protection plan because vehicles are very expensive when they have issues. I was googling extended coverage and came across CARCHEX.     Be careful with Carchex. I had an issue and they did not want to sit there and cash out or pay any or help me out towards getting my car repaired. I'm upset and seriously debating on switching this deal. But I already paid it, I have my truck on it. I had to go through back and forth, call corporate and everything and then they didn't do half of what they said they were going to do. I had to come up with $8,000. They only paid $2,200 and it's not even half. It really ticked me off. I kept complaining and complaining and complaining. Even my car technician at the dealership was complaining too. And I only got a portion after I had called corporate.

    We’re full-time RVers now and the Ford 250 pick up we purchased not too long ago was to pull our camper in. I had one vehicle protection plan over the years on a number of vehicles. My husband and I have only been married for a couple of years and I told him that it’s extremely important to have the plan for our peace of mind. We were initially looking at a Nissan Quest and while I was on the phone listening to the warranty information on the Nissan, my husband asked me if we could get a warranty on the Ford truck. The guy on the phone said they can do it so we ended up with a warranty. I went online and looked up extended warranties and I liked the deal that CARCHEX was offering us. I worked out a really good deal with this on the truck. We got the vehicle in 2010 and it has 200,000 miles on it and it’s very difficult to get a warranty on a vehicle with a high mileage on it.

    The specialist I spoke to was very informative and super helpful. He told me to get information like the van number which I asked from my husband. So, I faxed it to him and we were signed up in. I was really pleased when I purchased the vehicle protection plan from them. It was easy and it took very little time to sign up. I was able to take most of it myself. I’m 100% happy and I would highly recommend CARCHEX. I’ve told all my friends and my kids to get extended warranty even if their vehicle is fairly new.

    I was a member of the CARCHEX club a few months ago. I left so I could compare the price for the policies offered, but decided to come back because CARCHEX is the best. As the vehicle gets older, it has the tendency of having problems involving the engine and transmission. An extended coverage is an extra security and I have a company I can fall back upon which is more feasible because I pay a marginal fee on a monthly basis and it covers most of the major components.

    Their rep was very cooperative, accommodating and an excellent negotiator. We had a couple of issues that we were trying to iron out and he offered a couple of months which was very conducive. But before we began, he offered me a hard sell situation which allowed me to get involved with the problem easier and I took a leap of faith. He was very good and deserved a raise. They’re excellent in all operation and I would recommend CARCHEX to anybody who's interested in purchasing an extended warranty or contract.

    I bought a new vehicle which came with a warranty for 50,000 miles and didn't cover anything.     I got a new vehicle and CARCHEX was highly rated on Google. Their reps were pleasant and professional. I just got the contract the other day and when I read it, it was a lot less than what I thought I was buying. It only covers internal parts and doesn’t cover any electronics. If my engine explodes, I’m covered, but nothing else is covered. I still have a year left on the factory warranty, so I have a little time. I’m going to cancel my CARCHEX warranty. It’s $160 extra a month and it's never going to be used since it doesn’t cover any of the normal stuff that goes on a vehicle.

    I've purchased a few cars in the past that didn’t have a warranty. After spending $8,000 for a new transmission job for my Ford, I decided it was a good idea to get an extended warranty for a different car that I have. My dad decided to give me his truck, an expensive GMC Denali that didn't have a warranty. I know it's going to be expensive to fix so I got a warranty on it. I did my research and CARCHEX was the most rated for the best warranty so I got it. And I'm glad I got a warranty. My dad told me that my aunt has the same truck and she spent $4,000 for a new transmission. So though the warranty is too expensive, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

    It was very easy for me to get started. They do a vehicle history and find out what's up with the vehicle. I had a monthly payment and there's a 30-day waiting period, which I understand. I just don't understand why there's a down payment. They told me it's not a down payment, and that it's my first payment, but the first payment can't be used if the car breaks down. It was misleading. Other than that, the overall experience was decent. I dealt with Rita and she was very polite and well-known for her job. She was up-to-date on all the new stuff and promotions. She was outstanding.

    Not having a vehicle protection plan, like gambling, you're taking a 50-50 chance that your car will or will not break down. And my vehicle was at high mileage already, so there’s more of a chance for my vehicle breaking down than I am going out and purchasing a new car, which I could not afford. So I definitely hope it works out. I would recommend CARCHEX and tell friends that they’re very easy to deal with and it was easy to get started. I’d also tell them to watch out for those prices but I'd rather have monthly payments that I could somewhat afford now than getting down the road and having to spend $8,000 on click that I can't afford.

    I had a protection plan on a prior vehicle and it's very valuable. Three years into the thing, my transmission crashed and burned, so it’s very nice to have. My car now has minimal mileage and in good shape but it's seven years old. I want to keep it around for a bit longer and it’s at a point where big-ticket items start to go. I’m retired and on disability, and my retirement check is nowhere near it ought to be. I'm not in the position to shell out a couple of thousands of dollars for a new transmission or things like that without going into debt.     Having the extended cover warranty on a vehicle is nice and I have always done it, but it's the first time I have CARCHEX. It was handy and it came in the options with the papers so I checked it out and found it decent. However, they need to have a nationwide connection where one can call or go online, check out and make comparisons on the whole insurance carriers for the new one, and see if it goes from state to state with a good coverage where it won't try to blow one out with a lot of expenses. Also, when I hit my car and put a little dent in it, CARCHEX didn’t want to pay for it. But it was nothing serious. They’re reasonable compared to other providers as long as one doesn't have to pay exuberant prices.

    We have an account with CARCHEX for years so it's the only one we've ever used because we've been totally and completely covered. The few times that we've had to use CARCHEX, they've been absolutely quick and easy to deal with and they have taken care of our claims. The warranty was very valuable two years ago when our air conditioning system went out. It's pretty much paid for my whole year. Then, about four or five or six years ago, we had to put in a new transmission. It's like a health insurance. I pay it every month and never hope to use it.

    I was going to cancel my contract because the Administrator CARCHEX placed me with who was Royal. Was really terrible about taking care of claims. I ended up paying $240.00 more than I was suppose to pay for repairs. My deductible was $100.00 so that's what I expected to pay. They also wanted the dealership to use AutoZone parts. No dealership is going to go out and get AutoZone parts to service a vehicle. To top it off they didn't even refund my money for the rental which was $75.00. They paid me $25.00. This was the second time Royal didn't handle my claim correctly. So I was canceling after I've been with CARCHEX about 3 or 4 years.     Had been offered an extended warranty by dealer when purchasing vehicle. Told them I'd think about it. Took some time researching extended warranties. Carchex was one of several who responded. After more research I finally narrowed it down to Carchex and one other. Had several questions and was given a couple of quotes by Carchex with link to a sample of their contract. (Always read the contract on any transaction or you may be sorry later on). After reading through contract I noted pages and line number of a few things I had questions about.

    The agent that handled my account, Cary, seemed pretty knowledgeable with the contract and was able to answer all but one question. No deduction of points for Cary as his supervisor couldn't answer it either. Statement in contract was like: If vehicle is damaged too severely to tow or repair safely without damaging vehicle further, they would not tow it. (?????) Anyway, all my other questions were answered to my satisfaction.

    My only complaint is that I feel Carchex contacted me too often trying to get me to purchase their product. I understand the sales approach, but for me personally, it is a little aggravating. Other than that (and that is reason for 4 stars) I was satisfied with my dealings with Cary. He was knowledgeable and was good about answering my questions. I purchased a plan from Carchex and will update later when and if I need to use their services.

    I recently took my car to Jake Sweeney Jeep Chrysler Dodge for service. I was told my car needed wheel bearings along with a few other things. At which time I told them I had a vehicle protection plan through Carchex. The dealership contacted me and told me that they contacted Carchex and they agreed to cover the bearings only. So I said ok just fix what they approved because I knew I would only be paying my 100 dollar deductible plus my oil change $34 and rental $75. Roughly a total of $208.

    I ended up paying an additional $183 dollars so $391.39 out of my own pocket. I'm extremely pissed. I make monthly payments and been with them for 4+ years. My deductible is $100. That's what I expect to pay for covered repairs because that's what they advertised and that's what my contract states. They are suppose to advocate on your behalf, negotiate with repair facilities and get your vehicle back to driving condition while all your responsibility consist of is your deductible. I think I will be leaving them because that didn't happen. Maybe Toco is better.

    "CARCHEX" lies to you. They told me my warranty purchase covers all electrical parts of my vehicle. But once I finally use the warranty service they deny the claim. Saying (my car's too old). So I cancel the plan. Then they promise me a prorated refund for at least $200 but they only gave me back $70.59. Don't let them fool you! They will tell you anything to get a sale. Plus it took 2 to almost 3 months for the refund which is BS.

    I had good experience with my previous warranty and since I wanted to give myself a little peace of mind, I looked into getting an extended coverage. CARCHEX was able to price match with someone different and give an additional year on the warranties. It was easy to purchase the warranty but I was highly pressured to do it. The particular customer service rep that called me back was a little pushy and rude. He was a little overzealous. He called me about six times in three days because it was near the end of the month. I didn't realize I was calling so closely in the month to where it was going to put him under a talisman to try to get me to buy it but the warranty itself seemed to be fairly straightforward.

    CARCHEX itself had a good name, and I figured that was good enough. And on the first call that the rep did, I sent him information to price match and I told him I was looking at another company previously. He immediately pulled them up and tried to tell me how horrible they were according to the Yelp reviews. There was one negative review out there and it was from 2012. It's not very good way to bad mouth the competition in order to sell your product. And then, he sent me a quote which was way high. I sent him what I was looking at which was better-priced. Overall, he was no help in the process. I kind of wanted him to step out of the way of the process and just let me look it over and do it as I thought. But in the end, they price matched and gave me the extra year.

    I wouldn't have gotten the warranty if I decided later on that I didn't want it. I was thankful that I had 30 days to cancel. I didn't want to lose it but I didn't really have time to go through it as well as I wanted to before I had to pull the trigger. I was a little pressured to do so, so I went ahead and got it so it wouldn't disappear. The rep left a message that said, "It's the end of the month, I'm not sure if you're going to do it or not. But since it's the end of the month. They're not going to keep it out there long." So I went online and did it myself.

    At first the young lady explained why it's better to renew now for 5 years than later. She made it sound like the transition from my existing policy to a new one would be a seamless transition. I called back to see if they could expedite the refund, after speaking to three other people, I finally spoke to I think the cust relations super. I was shocked and angry that what he told me was policy vs. what the lady told me. I angrily told him that I was lied to and now the company would not honor what she told me. We went back and forth and I said I do not want my current warranty canceled because then I would be without coverage for a month. I then got a call from a mgr. up there and we went over the same thing again. He said he would talk to his boss and either he or his boss would call back to try to resolve the problem.     I've been paying on this CarChex extended warranty since 3/2016. Had to have my 2007 Ford Explorer towed for repairs due to an overheating situation. Since I'm a member of AAA I had it towed to one of their local repair centers at 10403 Park Road. CarChex paid $189.65 less $100 deductible towards a $526.40 bill. I paid $436.75 when I only expected to pay the deductible. Although the CarChex contract says they will pay a reasonable diagnostic fee, they paid ONLY 1.1 hours of the diagnostic fee and NOTHING towards the $108.86 labor charge to actually repair the vehicle.

    The repair shop charged $109.95 diagnostic fee to pressure test the system for leaks, $108.86 labor to install a thermostat assembly (thermostat + thermostat housing) costing $134.99, and a mandatory cooling system flush and fill at $72.00 labor, $57.34 parts ($29.34 coolant flush kit + $28.00 Max Life Antifreeze). When I called CarChex to explain why they were only paying $90.98 only towards $271.42 total labor charges they said they could only pay 1.1 hours of labor for any reason.

    CarChex said they could only pay $61.76 towards the thermostat and housing based on parts from places like AutoZone, Pep Boys and Advance Auto. I asked her where that was written in the CarChex contract and she pointed me to the section 'If Your Vehicle Incurs a Breakdown' section 1C which says "Take your vehicle to a licensed repair facility of your choice". Since I don't have a regular mechanic I had it towed to a "licensed repair facility" which I erroneously thought would satisfy this stipulation and that all costs would be covered as per a previous extended warranty that I had before paying off the vehicle and who covered 100% of the repair costs for a radiator(no deductible on that one).

    CarChex said that the service rep only said that they were repairing the thermostat and not the housing too. So I called AAA to see if that was the case and the service rep said she'd told them everything being repaired. I called CarChex back and spoke with a different customer service person and they said that AAA had not said anything about the housing and I offered to fax them the bill AAA had given me but CarChex told me to contact the repair shop. So I called AAA back and she said she did tell CarChex and furthermore that if I didn't want the mandatory flush and didn't agree with the markup on their parts that I could have my vehicle towed elsewhere. She did not give me the breakdown bill of what CarChex actually paid for along with the bill showing the total amount I had to pay but I told her I'd sort it out with CarChex later.

    Upfront I'd asked her (Kaitlyn) if AAA accepted extended warranties and she assured me they did but later she couldn't figure out how to bill the charges out which made me wonder if she had indeed relayed the correct information to CarChex. I disagreed with AAA on the mandatory flush since it that had already been done previously and questioned the markup on the parts price of the thermostat assembly since I had priced it ($72.99) at the same place they got their parts and from previous experience know they have good parts.

    So I basically got stuck with overpaying for a repair since CarChex decided what they would pay as opposed to paying the claim less the deductible but did not stipulate in the contract HOW they arrived at what they would pay although the CarChex contract at 2A says they would pay a reasonable diagnostic fee... but not the labor to actually repair the vehicle?!!!

    I got a warranty in April and my O2 sensor just went out and they denied the claim. When I called to ask why it was denied the Rep said because air fuel sensor is not covered. Well, I talked to several different mechanics who all told me the same thing, the air fuel sensor is a newer terminology for 02 sensor. Rep was not helpful or knowledgeable. I had the dealership submit the claim again under a 02 sensor. The dealership said they came back and CARCHEX would only cover 240 dollars!

    The reason I have this warranty is so I don't have to pay out of pocket for repairs that are covered on the warranty. Also all parts they use are aftermarket which is stupid for the price you pay for this warranty. All I should have to pay is my deductible. The dealership also said they are a horrible company and don't want to work with them because the "national" labor rate they use is too low and they don't make any money. The dealership did agree to fix and take a loss. After this claim is done I will probably cancel and get a Nissan warranty for half the price or just save the 140.00 a month I spend on this for any unexpected repairs. Waste of time and money.

    I was actively looking for an extended warranty for a handicap accessible van that I had recently purchased. I had a plan to get at least 3 estimates. The first company I contacted was among the top 3 rated companies but the representative was a little pushy and only offered a discount if I signed up that day. Did not like that approach.     Stay away. You are not buying from Carchex but from who they sell you to!!! Carchex experience was great and the only reason I bought from them was these stupid reviews... But the fact of the matter is they are a broker and sold my service contract to Royal Admin Services. Wanna have fun, look at that company's feedback.... My first claim denied, my 2nd claim denied and was told preexisting. The BMW shop has been in business over 40yrs, a family owned mom/pop and they tried to explain their findings were a joke. Do not buy from these guys unless they tell you exactly who your warranty provider will be, then Google that company's review... Unhappy, unhappy, unhappy.
