The city that I sent from is Roscoe, Illinois and I sent it to Los Angeles, California. My daughter got a job in California so she moved out there and instead of me driving the car out, we decided to ship it. I went online and just asked for bids and I got a bunch of them. Stateway Auto was not the cheapest, but they were the most thorough when I talked to them and didn't have any hidden fees and things like that.

What happened was, I wasn't sure my daughter would be there, because she's a flight attendant, so she might have been called on a trip and we had to have someone there. And I wasn't really sure if her husband could be there also. When I talked to the gal, she was awesome. She said, ''Don't worry about it. You got three days to figure out where we're going to drop it off. So please don't worry.'' She was awesome!

The process took probably a couple of weeks because he was unable to take the car off until the end of the week. She was already out there. But we knew that. We knew that might happen. And it was not a huge deal. And the driver was very nice. The only glitch was he spoke very little English. So it was really hard to understand him. But he was so polite and nice. Everything else was awesome.

Stateway Auto did a super job... a super company! They are very helpful and very professional. I'd recommend them to anybody and I would use them again.

Stateway Auto did a nice job. I hired them to ship my vehicle. The pickup was Georgia and the dropoff was Erie, PA. It was just a one-time thing. I'm the seller and I am the buyer; it's in my residence. The transaction took two days. They delivered on time and communicated very well. It was good.

Obviously, Stateway Auto Transport has a real problem. They have way too many negative reviews to be false. I paid quickly and was told it would be picked up in 1-7 days. That passed, I called again and again and again and again and again. Really, all day. They don't guard the phone and everything is an answering machine. Finally, I get through. They said they would expedite and take less. Seven more days passed and still no pick up. Now, I got to do the phone thing again. But I got money and lawyer for free unlike some of you, so I am just going to have another company pick up and ship then sue and not settle in arbitration but actually make them come to court and put their words on record.

I learned about Stateway Auto through a friend. We were moving from Mahopac, New York to Sarasota, Florida and the main reason why I wanted my vehicle transported was that I didn't want to drive other than that. The price quote was good and the entire process took about 3 weeks.

I had a few questions for Adam, the transport organizer, as things progressed. He answered me right away all the time and put me in the loop; he was very responsive. The driver was a great and nice guy too. He kept me posted where he was, and he did call me about an hour before he got in. He was a very pleasant man, very nice to deal with.

The whole thing was kind of new to me. It's my car and I'm a little worried. Any questions I had for Adam or as we progressed to the carrier, both were very responsive, very flexible and had a handle on everything, kept me calm, gave me information and they were nice people to deal with. I was very pleased with the whole operation. The whole experience was pleasant and professional. They really did a great job. It was really good and it really makes a difference.

I was relocating to Austin, Texas and needed a transport company to ship my vehicle. I googled for a transport provider and found Stateway Auto. I chose them because their price quote was pretty reasonable, they were persistent to my follow ups, and they had good feedback on the internet. Everything went according to plan. I did not have any issues. The service was excellent. They got my vehicle on time without any issues and the price was right. The driver was helpful and friendly. He provided all the necessary answers and his phone number so that I could reach him. It is the best experience that you can get with the perfect price.

I learned about Stateway Auto via the internet and requested for a price quote to have my car shipped from Brewster, NY to Las Vegas, NV. I was relocating. I thought it was a fair price so I scheduled an appointment with them. They made me feel good about my decision since everyone in the whole company was very friendly, professional, they give good information and the service is pretty satisfying. It took them five days to deliver my car after I set the appointment with them. The carrier that brought it to Las Vegas was awesome. He was very nice, friendly, caring, efficient and thorough. He made me feel comfortable that he was the one who was going to take my car across the US. He was also very prompt - from the time he picked up the car to the time he arrived in Las Vegas. I would recommend Stateway Auto because of their excellent customer service.

I made a quarter bit of research on various companies and I found a site which shows the customer comments. I know that a lot of different thing could happen obviously. But I was just very, very pleased with Stateway Auto's service. The vehicle was owned by a company I have in partner with in Arizona and it was abandoned here in California. I just needed to ship it back to Arizona to be sold. I called to set it up. The price quote was good - it wasn't the lowest and it wasn't the highest. The interaction I had with the person I talked to was also very good. She told me that it would be scheduled within 1-7 days. Actually she called me back within I think 24 hours. They gave me a schedule time for it. We went from there. The process took probably about 8 days, from the initial setup to the time the vehicle was delivered. I also had interaction with the person who picked up the car - it was good. They came when they said they would. They dropped it off when they said they would.

The only thing I was surprised about - and I wasn't upset about - I was told early on that the car wouldn't be stored, and it would be put on a carrier, take it straight over there. That's not what happened - it was picked up on a small three car carrier moved to east bay, like Pleasanton Livermore, and then it was transferred to a larger carrier. But I didn't really care as long as the car got there safe and it got there on time, quickly, and no damages were done on the car. Everything went very, very smooth. Very professional.

I was shipping a vehicle, an 83 Mercedes 300CD back to Pennsylvania from Scottsdale, AZ. I just sort of looked at the websites, reviews. I sent an email then finally got connected to an answering machine. They originally said that they would match any lower quotes, so I shared that with them. We've had a discussion. For the small difference, I felt that it could be a good service. I thought the pricing quote was fair. It wasn't the lowest - the range was $700 or $750 up to $1200. It was $895. I spoke with Mr. ** and he explained the difference. I was looking for a good service and a safe delivery. I was comfortable with that.

It was expedited. I called them on the weekend. I believe they picked the car up on Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week and had it delivered on Sunday. They delivered it actually a day or 2 earlier than expected. He had it here on Sunday evening. So it was very good. I got to speak with the truck driver for a while. He seemed like a very nice fellow. Actually the driver was very good at keeping a quote within a 24 hour period. It turned out as we discuss things we chose the different locations for delivery. There was no problem... He rearranged his delivery route to meet me just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which worked out better for maneuvering his carrier and also for us. So I was pleased with that. I guess from the initial phone call the process would have been pretty much exactly a week. Good service and quality and fast delivery!

I was coming to Kansas City area. I bought a car in Chicago and needed it here in Lee's Summit, which is a suburb in Kansas City. I filled out a form that gives you all the quotes. I got 20 quotes. Some offered less, some offered more. I actually put a bid request on uShip and I was given just real high bid on that. So I ended up with Stateway Auto. It was not so hard of a choice to make.

The service was very quick, quick and to the point. They had it ready before my check could have actually gotten to the dealership. I talked to my transport organizer one time and then shot her an email. She responded and then I was shot an email and she swore she could take care of it. I'd never shipped one before and it was an expensive car so I was a little nervous. About half an hour before I was gonna get to town, I called them and I had sent an email requesting a callback. And the carrier did that. He picked the car up I think about 1:00 on Tuesday and they dropped it off my driveway by noon on Wednesday. It was within a day. It was very impressive. It was just very easy, convenient, and the price was good. I paid them to ship to town, and it was perfect.

I moved from Rhode Island to California and I had two cars. I drove one out so I had to have one shipped. I did it online and I got a whole bunch of calls that started coming in from different companies. I was pretty much a little bit leaning toward Stateway Auto and one other company. It looked pretty close (the other ones were a little bit higher). Stateway Auto gave me a good quote and probably the best one that I got out of 10 companies.

There was an initial email and then they called me just to let me know that the actual driver would be calling to let me know when the pickup date on Rhode Island would be. Then the transporter called and said that he was gonna be picking the car up, which he did. He said it would be about 7 to 9 days before I got here to California and on the 7th day he showed up. He actually came a day early. So it was good. Because of the way the traffic is here and everything, he parked a full street down and actually drove the car up to the driveway. And then I gave him a ride back for his truck. I paid him, he gave me the receipt, and off he went. It was gonna be 7-10 days from when I booked it before they picked the car up in Rhode Island, so the entire process from beginning to end was like two weeks. Stateway Auto picked the car up when they said they would and dropped it off when they said they would.

I hear a lot of horror stories about people and when they show up it's supposed to be a $1000 balance and all of a sudden it's $1,500 (you know, about foreign exchange and all the stuff). But Stateway Auto gave me an all-inclusive quote. I asked them before I booked it. I said, 'This is it, right? I mean, I'm gonna give you deposit, and then when he shows up, it's a $1000 balance when he got here? That's it. It's gonna be the thousand dollars, right?' They said that was it. Then the driver came and it was a thousand dollars and everything went smooth. I was just happy and relieved. It was a hassle-free experience. I'd recommend them.

I gave Stateway Auto Transport the contract to deliver my car from Walnut Creek, CA to Borger, TX. The car should have been here last week, Friday the 12th of April. I have been trying to get hold of them via telephone, but they don't answer their phones and I have been leaving numerous messages. I received a call from a girl named Danielle on Wednesday after asking a friend to call the company and pretend she was a new customer, and only then did they call her back and she handed the phone over to me. I was told they are still trying to find a driver. All I want is my deposit back so I can find a different company to get the car here as soon as possible. I start work on Wednesday, 17th of April, and the car is still in California.

I received a call today from a lady asking me if I would be willing to meet the driver in Amarillo, TX (which is 45 minutes away from Borger, TX) if they can get the car here by the end of this week? Of course I will be willing to do it, but they haven't even found a driver for the car yet. All I want at this point is to get my deposit back so I can go to a different company! There is no public transportation out here in Borger, TX. How am I going to get to work? I am so frustrated with this company! Please beware of this company. Pay a little more and do your research as I didn't and now I am paying for it big time! I reported them to the BBB of IL.

I went on the internet and I filled out some form. I must have got responses from about 10 different companies. The lowest price quote I got was a $1,000; the highest one I got was $1,200. The quote that was given to me by Stateway Auto is like $1190 or something like that, but they were within range. And on their website, there was the ability to track. That was one reason I picked them.

I had no problems. I told them where the car was, where it had to be. (It was picked up in Clifton, New Jersey and it went to Mountain View, California.) And they came the morrow and they adhered and they sent me a quote and I called them back and they said, 'Somebody will contact you within a couple of days.' A couple of days later I got a call from the driver. He says, 'Be there between 2:00 and 4:00.' About 2:30-3:00 he called and he was about three blocks away. He said, 'I got a big trailer. I can't make it down in your street.' So I drove the car down there. We loaded it up and then 5 or 6 days it was in California. From that point where I called them and said the car's ready to go, to the time I was told it got out to California, I would say (in total) everything was maybe anywhere from 8 or up to 10 days.

Stateway Auto told me exactly what was gonna happen and it did happen. When the driver called, he was very courteous, and he was on time. When he got out to California, he called my son and he said he's gonna be there, he says, at such time. And he was there on time. I mean everything was fine. Even my son had a good experience dealing with him. He's simply proficient, professional, and on time.

I had arranged a pickup with Adam from Stateway Auto Transport. It took a few seconds to accept payment. I cancelled the transport order within 24 hours. After several emails to Adam (he refuses to reply), I called and was able to speak only to one of his co-workers and cancelled but still no confirmation. I called again and spoke to somebody from their accounting who told me that a credit would be refunded on the next billing cycle of my Visa. This was a lie.

I received a call from their accounting to confirm a refund, but when I returned this call, I cannot get a real person to speak to. Beware of this outfit. They have a great sales pitch - it gives you the feeling of great service but that is apparently where the professionalism ends. This will become a legal matter if I cannot get my $175.00 back.

Trying to arrange for my car being sent to Colorado was, perhaps, the worst experience I have ever been involved with in my entire life.Their phone system does not allow for any direct call to the company and, 24 hours a day, all you will hear when you try to make a direct contact with any of their sales folks is something like, "Due to the unusual number of calls being received, please leave your name, phone number and a brief message," etc., etc., etc. I received the same message when I knew that the office was closed. It's simply amazing.

Their numerous promises to me about setting up a date for a car pick up, all were just that, empty promises. I am 79 years old. I had non-cancellable airline tickets from Boston to Denver at $600++. I lost out on these tickets as I had to drive the 2,300 mile distance, along with gasoline, meals, motels. etc. and it was $1,000++ again down the drain. For me to say that this company was less than honest with their promises would be a gross understatement. I would not recommend the use of this company. My husband and I were looking to ship a vehicle between Dallas and West Virginia. Initially, they were very responsive to get my business but not responsive when it came to updates and status of the pick up of the vehicle my husband and I were looking to ship. They took a deposit of $175 and assured me that I would be contacted within 7 business days. Needless to say, no one contacted us and if not for me contacting them, I truly did not feel I would have been contacted at all. I cancelled the order earlier today and requested my deposit back from them. They cancelled it after trying to talk me into keeping my business with them, which I decided not to do (based upon my gut feeling). I was informed that it could take up to 7 days to return my funds to my account - an e-mail generated message also indicated that if I disputed with my credit card company it could possibly cancel the request altogether.

The company must be used to cancellations and the return of deposits based upon its e-mail generated response. I will be reviewing my account to make sure my funds are returned within the 7 days as indicated by the company. I contacted another company at 1:00 pm today (their quote was higher than this company) and they picked up my vehicle by 6:00 pm today - problem solved. Lesson learned: sometimes you get what you pay for. I would rather pay more and deal with a more professional honest company than the experience I just encountered with Stateway Auto Transport.

Kim, needless to say, I am very disappointed in the way my order was handled. Not only did I initially (after the order) get ignored and pushed off by Dana, the salesperson who set up the order, but was completely failed by your dispatch department. My car apparently never had a chance of being delivered within the time period stated on the contract and assured to be realistic by Dana. I understand completely that transport schedules are not always precise, but you had ten cars ahead of me going to the same area. You were unable to make transport arrangements for those cars, some for several weeks. I understand salespeople are not the most honest, often saying whatever is needed to make a sale, making those promises happen seems to always get placed on others' shoulders. But Stateway has some level of responsibility to its clients.

In the future, please don't promise what you know you can't deliver. Based on Dana's promises, which I trusted, I prepaid for 2 nights in a Salt Lake City hotel, which I can't use or get refunded. I paid on Travelocity for a ticket for my daughter to fly to Salt Lake to pick up the car, which isn't transferable or refundable. She now is incurring the expense and lost time to travel to Salt Lake with her car. I am also now forced to incur the expense of paying for another ticket to fly my wife back from Salt Lake City since my daughter had to be accompanied on the drive. Stateway's failure to be upfront and honest has caused us significant financial loss, time off loss and worst of all, I was hoping to return from being out of state with 2 days to spare prior to my daughter leaving for college. I didn't have that time. It was stolen by false promises by Stateway.

Kim, I don't blame you for this but I wish Dana had been more honest. I want no further explanation or excuses, I want you to refund the fee I paid in advance, it wasn't earned. I would like to receive an email by 12 noon eastern time tomorrow this has been done. That will close this matter. Kim, you have been professional in every way. You have done what you could to make up for Dana's shortfalls and lack of customer care and communication. Please refund my account and end this very badly handled matter.

My Dodge van had cooling system problems while driving from Florida to Oregon. I parked it in long term storage near the Kansas City Airport and flew home on July 8th. After reviewing dozens of transport companies, I hired Stateway because they are a carrier, not a broker. I paid the deposit and got a pickup date within 10 days. Six weeks later, I am still waiting for a dispatch, paying storage fees the entire time. They will not assign their own truck to this job; they are trying to broker it. Everyone at Stateway is really nice on the phone and nothing happens. Now, I have to start all over again or fly back to K.C. and tow the van home myself. This is exactly the situation I worked so hard to avoid. My worst transport nightmare come true.

They told me that it would be delivered by the 23rd and they are now telling me that it will be around the 27th. I am shocked that the DA has not stepped in and shut them down much less cannot see how these people can even look their family members in the eye and sleep at night knowing that they lie to people all day long. If it were someone else in a position of authority, they would be behind bars. I paid them three weeks ago. It has cost me far more than I ever expected. I assure everyone on this site that my attorney will make certain these people are accountable. Every person who works there is somebody's child. It amazes me that nobody has conviction any longer. Original Review: July 14, 2012

We had scheduled our vehicle to be picked up in Washington State on June 18 to be delivered to us in Massachusetts and paid a $200.00 deposit. June 18th came and went and the vehicle was never picked up. When we would call and ask when the vehicle was going to be picked up, we were told that our pick up date was just a guideline and that they had a 7-business day window around that to pick it up. We waited the seven days and called again. We were told that it had been scheduled to be picked up, but the driver had a death in the family and it would be a few more days. Another few days went by and we called again and were told basically that they had no idea when it would be picked up, but that we could entice the driver to pick up the vehicle by offering them another $100.00! Andy told us that they would deduct that $100.00 from the deposit we paid and refund it to us. We are still waiting!

We have had enough of this shady business and called (leaving a message again because they do not answer their phones) and left a message stating that we wanted to cancel our vehicle shipment and get a refund of our deposit. Two hours later, they called to say they had a driver dispatched to pick it up, so we allowed for the order to continue (but found it to be a funny coincidence that now that we wanted to cancel, a truck was available). Our vehicle was finally picked up on July 3rd - over two weeks later (and long after we needed it to be here). Once the vehicle was picked up, we were told it would take almost another two weeks for it to arrive! They offer vehicle tracking on their website and we requested it several times and never received anything back from them. We finally got our car delivered on July 13 - almost a month later!

It's now July 5th and they haven't picked up my car yet. I called many, many times and left many messages for them to call me about when they are going to pick up my car, but got one call back after 10 days. They told me the guy named David who gave me the quote and charged me $175 upfront using my credit card had been fired on June 22nd. They also said that the days they promised me that they will pick up my car from CA which was either June 26th or 27th was not a guarantee date. It depends if they can find the driver or not. I told them that was not what David told me and of course the dude is no longer there.

Anyway, I called back today and another guy, Andy, told me to pay extra $100 cash (total $800) to the driver when the guy(s) delivered my car, and he will give me back $100 to my credit card. I was so stupid that I would listen to these guys and this company, and my car still sitting in CA when I'm already in TN without a car for almost three weeks now. I'm not sure how I picked this unreliable company in the first place. You have to call them a dozen of times before they would call you back and now they don't even know when my car will be shipped. I'll call them back tomorrow to cancel this moving transaction and will see them in court soon. Then, on the morning of the pickup date, the driver called my fiance’s phone eight times at 7:00am, after I had specifically told them to call my cell phone and not my fiance’s. When my fiancé answered the phone, the driver told him that he didn’t have our address! The driver could barely communicate in English. The driver later called again, saying he couldn’t find our house. My fiancé had to cancel all his appointments for that morning so that he could go meet the driver and lead him back to our house. Ridiculous! I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone. I really regret using this company.

Don't be fooled by a fancy website advertising “quality, completed satisfaction, best price, special discounts for military, etc.” This company is a fraud. They advertise that they use their own drivers when in fact they are nothing more than a broker house advertising one thing than doing another. I contracted with them on May 29 to have a car shipped from Alabama to California and paid them a deposit and agreed to pay a determined price on delivery. I flew to Alabama to pick up the car and then made sure it gets on a transport before the 18th of June. I was told this would not be a problem and that I had plenty of time. The only way to reach these folks is by chatting online. For those of us who are traveling and don't have internet access, it's pretty difficult. They never answer the phone or return calls.

I chatted two days before my return flight and was told that my order had not yet been dispatched, meaning I'm screwed. The only way to get the car to California is to cancel my flight and drive the car home myself. I don't ship cars often, but if I ever do, it will not be with Stateway. They should be named "Stayway." I was told I would get my deposit back. We'll see. There’s no way to get my airline fare back.

My spouse is on active duty military and we received orders to move from NC to CA. I contacted Stateway Auto at the end of October 2010 for a quote to ship my car on December 17, 2010. The quote process was quick and efficient. After a few days, and more decisions that were made in order to make our move successful, we decided to ship my husband's truck instead of my car. I called my quote representative, David, and was unable to reach him by telephone, so I left a message. After a few hours, I called back and spoke to a completely different person who re-ran the quote, assured me that shipping over the holidays was done all the time, and took a $165 deposit on my credit card.

I did not hear back from the company at all regarding this order until my husband tried to reach them on Monday, the week of shipping. Meanwhile, I have now moved to CA, my husband has temporary duty in New England, and my parents have agreed to help us, if needed, from VA. He had not heard from them or a driver regarding our scheduled pick up day or time. I began calling and emailing the company, too. I connected with a live person at Stateway Auto by Wednesday of that week. My representative, David, has now told me that there is a problem with the order and that I have been passed to his supervisor, Susie. I spoke with Susie. She spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me explaining the car shipping process and apologizing for having our order slip through the cracks. She is honest with me and tells me that since it is now one week before Christmas, it is very likely that our car will not ship. And given the New Year holiday right around the corner, it is also likely that it will not ship until early January. She recommended, and I agreed, to let our order stay on their books until December 27, 2010 when she would follow up with me about a path forward.

On December 27, 2010, I found it very difficult to reach Susie and when we did finally connect on the phone, there was no new information. My husband and I were starting to get concerned that our car would not be here in time for him to report to his new job, and we needed a car. I called and emailed David and Susie during the next few days and received no response. Given our situation, we decided to go ahead and buy another car. My parents in VA have agreed to car sit for us while we are in CA. So we have now decided not to ship the truck. We needed our second vehicle and that is why we made arrangements to ship it with Stateway Auto. I spoke to David on December 29, 2010 and asked to get our full deposit refunded and the order canceled.

On January 4, 2011, I had no refund or confirmation that our order had been canceled. I called and spoke to David. David said that he needed a supervisor approval to generate the refund and that had not happened yet. On January 5, 2011, I received an email confirmation from David that our refund amount of $145 will be refunded. I emailed him back and asked him why I was not getting my full refund of $165. I never heard back from him.

I started pursuing complaints through the Better Business Bureau about Stateway Auto. Once I found the management contact name and telephone number at Stateway Auto, I contacted that number to fully disclose our situation and the fact that I will be writing a negative review about my entire experience. I spoke with a well-spoken lady, Suzanne **. She and I spent 30 minutes on the phone discussing my entire situation. She recognized that our situation was handled poorly and assured me that the $145 refund amount was a mistake and I would be getting the full $165 refund. She also informed me of how an order is supposed to be handled from quote to completed shipping. Our order did not get processed as outlined by the company procedures.

I do not know where the problem in this organization lies. I can tell you that trying to reach our representative, David, and the supervisor, Susie, by telephone and email was very difficult and frustrating.

As an active duty military family, we depend on companies and people to help us move frequently with as much success as possible. Any move from an apartment across town to moving across the globe is stressful. We make many decisions leading up to, during, and after the move of our household goods, children, pets, and cars. It is very disappointing to have made a decision early in the moving process and have it not work out at all. I am very frustrated that we ended up buying a second car, asking my parents to add a third vehicle to their lives, having my parents drive and maintain our car, and at the poor customer service received by this company. I will not recommend this company to our military co-workers (active and retired) and will not recommend them to family and friends. I canceled the shipping contract due to no/poor customer service and full refund of initial deposit taken on credit card 8 weeks later.

Take note that their quote and our contract/agreement was to pick up my car from my brother's home. To make up for their lousy service, Stateway Auto promised to send me a token credit check ($ 50) that week. While I was very upset with what happened, I thought the gesture was an act of good will. It turned out that I was wrong about that as well. It's been 8 weeks since they promised to send me the check, but until now, I haven't received it. I got my car shipped form Fort Drum, NY to Rancho Cucamonga, CA and they promised me that they’re going to pick it up in Fort Drum on the 8th of October 2010. Instead it was picked up the 15th of October. I don't have a car to use every time I have to go to my doctor's appointment for 3 weeks. The stereo antenna on the roof of my car has been cut off "I mean literally" like they used a bolt cutter to cut it. And the truck driver said that he is not responsible for that damage.

The driver was rude. The driver called and said he was waiting at pickup location. I hurried to get there and he arrived one hour later. Monty's Auto Delivery Co told me that the truck would arrive at Ft Lewis on Wednesday or Thursday of the following week. The truck was going to my son that is in the Army and asked if he could work it out so he could meet him after 5 pm off base. The driver said he could not wait for no one he would impound the truck until he could get off the Army base to get it.

One week passed and no word from the driver or Stateway. I called several times and no return calls. Finally, a call back from Stateway on Friday and the driver said it would arrive Saturday or Sunday. Monday came and no truck or call. I called Monday and was told it would arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. The driver called my son at the last minute and said he was waiting for him. My son got a ride to meet him; in the mean while, the driver is threating to impound truck.

He is very rude. I researched reviews and Stateway had the best, I don't know how. I asked if there would be any discount for the delays and was told they could not control what happens on the roadways. I understand that, but don't keep telling us that it would be there the next day when they knew it wouldn't. I also went with this company because they had tracking during the transport. Wrong: it was not working. How convenient.

My vehicle was picked up almost three weeks late and calls were rarely returned. No one is ever available by phone. I think Rebecca is the only person who actually works there. I originally spoke with Anthony and after my car was not picked up as requested, he stated that he was working out routing. I tried to plan and allow myself plenty of time to have the car transported, so I gave Stateway an additional week to pick up the vehicle as a courtesy. It was still not picked up. I had to pay to have my car stored, hoping someday it would get transported.

I finally spoke to Rebecca a week later after leaving many messages that were not returned. She told me that I was on an easy route. Within two days, the vehicle was picked up and transported. It was stated in writing that a refund for my deposit would be made within five business days due to the fact that I had to pay additional storage. I was almost two weeks without a vehicle due to their negligence and I placed a deposit to have my vehicle picked at a certain date and it was well beyond that date that job was actually done. As of today, almost ten days later, the refund has still not been credited and no one will return my call.

Dont count on getting your car back or picked up on time. The driver they used, Nate, was amazing. He kept in communication with me, even when his truck blew a tire and was going to be late. He was my only peace through this entire situation. Just to get my car back, I ended up paying $165 more than I planned for Stateway. They are untrustworthy, undependable crooks and liars! I would strongly advise against using this company.

No insurance coverage for $6,000 worth of damage! My original review was removed after I called David at Stateway to ask for a deposit refund for writing a review. He must have hung up on me after he read my review because it was removed. They are a middleman and their insurance is not covering the damage to my car.

The pickup and delivery was very late. I paid additional $100 to expedite the pickup, which still took an additional week. The delivery was very late. The driver and the customer service person provided almost no support nor communication. The transport company was Lakeshore Motor Carriers, and the driver appeared heavily under the influence of methamphetamine. She picked up the vehicle after 10:00 pm, and dropped my car on its side, completely damaging everything from fender to bumper.

I argued with my husband (business partner) over the phone, screaming profanities at each other. The damage to vehicle has been estimated at over $5,700, and no response from Lakeshore Motor Carriers or their insurance provider (Canal Insurance). I observed other damaged vehicles on the trailer, including a completely destroyed Harley Davidson sport bike laying smashed on its side.

I contracted with them on July 13 to move my vehicle from Wisconsin to Alabama. The quoted price was $485.00 with $165.00 deposit down via credit card, the remaining balance ($320.00) due at delivery in cash. The delivery driver would not release the vehicle until I paid him $370.00. Many attempts to contact Stateway has met with negative results.

I am a student and wanted to ship my car back home for Memorial Day weekend. Every company I spoke with gave me the runaround about how it would take up to two weeks to get my car across country. Then a friend of mine recommended that I call Stateway. When I spoke with Rebecca, she assured me that my car would arrive in 6-8 days and helped me set up the shipment to where it would arrive on Friday on the holiday weekend.

At first, I was expecting this not to happen based on some of the horror stories out there and there were even some companies who were harassing me with annoying emails and non-stop phone calls about how Stateway would not deliver. They were simply trying to steal a customer. How pathetic! Anyhow, my car arrived Friday afternoon right on time and in great shape. It was as if it arrived cleaner that it was when they picked it up. I was so happy with the service that I decided to share my experience with the rest of the world. Stateway is the perfect shipper.

They took my deposit of $165 in March 20 for car transportation scheduled on April 28. I tried to contact them more than 15 times with several approaches, email, and phone. I felt that the company is not a reliable one. I gave them a cancellation notice. Finally, I got a confirmation for this cancellation on April 15. They said the refund will be in 3-5 days. However, after 24 days, I still haven't received any money, neither in my credit card, nor by mail. I attempted through their website and e-mail, phone. Nobody picked up the phone, and there was no e-mail reply. Is that a real company, or just a scam?

Wow! I must have received about 20 emails in a 3 day time frame from Joanne at Stateway. I continuously told her to stop sending emails and she wouldn't listen. I am still receiving emails after multiple threats of contacting consumer affairs. I am now going to let everyone know about this company and their spam email methods of trying to gain business. Definitely, I didn't earn mine this way. They won't stop emailing me!

I contacted Stateway Auto Transport (salesperson Anna) to get two vehicles that I purchased at an auction to my home address. She said it would take a couple of days; since they are brokers, they find drivers. I agreed to pay them the amount they quoted me. Three days later, I called to ask about the status but nobody called me back. I sent them an email saying that I needed to know because the auction would start to charge me storage fees if I didn't pick them up already. On my email, I asked them to please call me back the next day (day 4) or I would have to cancel my transaction.

The next day, I had started to make arrangements with another transporter when she called me and said they just picked up one of my vehicles and were going to pick the other one up within 10 minutes. It was odd but I was very happy to hear that, so I called the new transport company to cancel the service. I waited for the driver or someone to call and tell me when they would be dropping the vehicles off, but found out that the vehicles were still sitting at the auction - and I had to start the process all over again. Since it was Friday, I was screwed until Monday - and knew that this would cost me additional storage fees. I couldn't believe she lied to me, and I feel even worse because I believed her. Shame on me!
