We had a daughter in college and so we need to get a car to her. I just Googled “car transporters, Boston to L.A.” I called a few of the car transporters. They all immediately called back even before I knew what I was going to do. I can’t remember the particulars in the end, but when I suddenly realized when I had to go, Stateway Auto was the only one that could meet my timelines.
The people at Stateway were nice. There was one other guy that said they may be able to do it but when I Googled that guy, and I don’t know who it was, he did not get good recommendations. But these guys at Stateway, I think, have good recommendations.
The car actually got there before there was anyone there to get it which sort of defied all possibilities. Their service was too quick. So the process of saying to them, “Hey, okay, let’s do this,” they had a carrier for me in about three hours, which was very, very fast. And then they picked the car up the next day. I actually told them I couldn’t have it there before a certain time. It will be nice to have the car there when someone was there to get it. They actually had it there two days early where they thought, and everyone else thought, it would at least be a couple of days after that. No problems. It was fine.
The only complaint I had was they drove the transporter out. And that person has given us a little bit of problem as far as delivery being too quick. And this company, they were sympathetic, but they really couldn’t help us. So I was kind of left hanging. But in the end, everything worked out.

We just moved, so just for the convenience of dropping the car later in Chicago, we chose to go with Stateway. Their price quote was fine. We dropped the car off on Friday and they brought it over on a Saturday, so that’s seven long days. There had been no problems, no issues at all. Overall, their service was excellent and reasonable.

I was sick and I couldn’t drive to New York, so we had to send one of our cars to New York and I drove with my son in the other car. The price quote from Stateway Auto was pretty good compared to other quotes which were in some cases more than that. Everything with the experience seems to be okay. The only thing that I had as a problem was I wanted the car to be picked up on a specific date because I was there, and it turned out, I wasn’t there. I wanted it picked up on a Monday. It didn’t get picked up until Saturday. So that’s a few days difference. It made a problem for me because I had to find somebody who was available when the car would be picked up. In summary, it was a good experience. The car got here with no damage.

Stateway was the only carrier that returned my call and gave me several different options for my truck. They handled all the logistics, sent follow up emails and kept me in the loop. The day before my truck was picked up I had an email with the driver's name and 2 contact numbers. Made feel very comfortable with the whole transaction.

I’m 84 years old. Because I was moving back to New Jersey and I did not want to drive that distance, I wanted my car shipped. I went online, researched. Everything with Stateway Auto was just great. I’m very satisfied and they delivered it in less time than I thought they would. It was very good. I would say they’re great. I would recommend them to anyone.

Stateway Auto Transport recently handled the relocation of my father's vehicle. I had an overwhelming number of carriers to choose from, but I selected Stateway based on their family ownership. After placing my order, I was contacted by the owner (Sam) personally on a weekend. My decision was positively reinforced when the designated driver (Jerry) contacted me. He kept me informed of the progress from pickup to delivery with professionalism and courtesy, often sending photos by phone text. The vehicle arrived as promised without damage into my driveway is a tight residential neighborhood. My appreciation goes out to Stateway for completing this family task in a stress-free manner.

I just joined the army so I just moved. Stateway Auto provided me the lowest price quote. I had called a lot of different ones, maybe 20 different ones, and it was the lowest. Transport organizer was pretty cool and delivery driver was pretty friendly. We worked on a situation because he was going to be here before I was. Everything worked out fine. They were customer friendly.

I needed to ship my vehicle from Rancho Cucamonga, CA to Greensburg, PA, so I contacted Stateway Auto. Everything went fine except I was led to believe that I would be able to track my car the entire way and I’m unable to do that at all. The online tool didn’t work. Overall, my experience with Stateway Auto was okay.

I really enjoyed using Stateway Auto as my vendor for shipping my car. I had a great experience with them when I moved my car to Arizona and they were just as helpful when I decided to move it back. They gave me a discount because I was a returning customer. This is great. You don't see this customer appreciation that often anymore. The staff is very prompt to follow up and to ensure that you feel comfortable with the process. I highly recommend this organization for cross country shipping.

Wifey was going up to take care of her mother in Ohio and she needed her car shipped up there. We went online and searched out all the companies and it was just a quote we got. We tried another company and they promised us with a 48-hour window and didn’t deliver. After waiting two more weeks, that’s when we contacted Stateway and they had somebody two days later. It took 3 days from beginning to end, from origin to destination with car. They handled it great. Stateway was able to find us a driver in no time at all.

I purchased the Lincoln Navigator in Kansas City. We were travelling at Eastern time to visit my daughters who lived in Missouri. I've been shopping for a car for months and I happen to find one. I drove it. I like it. I didn't buy it then. I bought it 2 weeks later. And then, I arranged for Stateway to ship it to California where I live. I found them on the internet. There's a website that grades all of these guys, 5 star, gold, bronze, silver, whatever. And I picked from the top of the list and called those folks, talked to the people who were running the place and made the decision based on the interaction with me. Stateway Auto Transport gave us a competitive price quote. I've used car haulers historically and these guys were good. They weren't quite as good as someone else I use, but I paid a lot more and it was a different scenario. Overall, they were really good.

I received my confirmation on June 4 for pick up at which time I had to leave a deposit. To date, my truck has not been picked up. As all the other negative comments, you only get answering machines. But I actually received a contact a few weeks ago and now and I still get the same response - "I'm sorry but your vehicle has not yet been assigned." Yesterday, July 22nd, I was asked if I would drive over 30 miles to meet a truck, even though my quote was for door to door. I responded as to it would depend on when, and to date have not heard back from them. I just can't believe that it has been over 45 days now and my truck has still not been assigned. They state they have their own trucks and are not brokers, so why has my truck not been assigned????

I was moving from Weston, MA to Des Moines, IA. I went online and put in my car information and different companies sent their quotes. I've been calling other agencies and checking and they tell me they'll try the job on but it won't happen. I have to go through like 3 different agencies before I ended up with Stateway. I come across Stateway Auto and think the price quote was fair. The person that set me up with the driver did a great job. The transport took 4 to 5 days and there were no issues. I recommended them to a friend of mine already.

I recently purchased a car online that was located in Portland, Oregon. I needed to get it to Houston and the Dealer suggested Stateway. I insisted the dealer get two quotes but it was clear early on who was the most competitive, Stateway by $250 in my case. I went online and found the site to get the number and although the site seemed a little over the top I was pleased to find Adam very easy to work with when we talked. I was very edgy due to the fact I was already purchasing this vehicle without ever testing it in person, so I had a lot of questions.
Adam patiently answered them to my satisfaction. I asked that we put the deposit down and was surprised as well how reasonable the amount was. He and I discussed contact going forward and he set my expectation like this - The vehicle would be picked up during a window of time on a specific day that I arranged with the dealer. Once the vehicle was en route we would be able to contact the driver to track the progress.
The car would arrive on the date stated during the first half of the day. Although unforeseen issues on the road are possible. They were very flexible in setting the date of pick up. We also discussed that the drivers are limited by law how many miles they can drive in a day, so it was easy to calculate the earliest date of delivery possible. It would turn out that it was virtually in line with that max set by law.
I made arrangements with the dealer and gathered all the detailed info about pickup address and personnel to contact. A driver called me and confirmed the pickup 2 days before. At this point I waited the week for it to arrive. I called in the middle of the week to confirm it was on track as discussed. I got VM when I called and left a note then was contacted by Sara with confirmation. My experience with her was as satisfying as Adam; they both were down to earth, cheerful and communicative.
I then got a call from the driver the day before drop off during which he confirmed my info. My work schedule stacked up on me however and I explained it would be difficult for me to meet the car at my home outside of town. He didn't hesitate to make arrangements with me to meet at my place of work in the Galleria (Houston). The driver was all business but not rude in any way. We continued to stay in touch through cell and text.
The day came and I got a call, ran down stairs and he was already unloading as I arrived. We went over the car together for damage and used a very detailed graphic sheet he had to do so. I was shocked because I had made the hopeful request that the car be loaded on top behind the cab (knowing it may not be possible) and there it was! The car wasn't even that dirty after travelling across half the country, so looking for damage was a quick task. There was no damage and the driver was very helpful. I've used transport services before and can easily say they were the most organized, communicative and competitive yet. I will use them again should the need present itself. They also followed up right after delivery to check on us. For me it was solid, they have great people running a very organized service. No drama!

I bought an antique truck from a fellow in Alabama, and I needed it here at my house and use them. I started shopping for prices and then I saw Stateway. I put in for some bids, and they turned in a bid and it wasn't the lowest, but it wasn't the highest by any means. It just looked like a solid place, from what I was reading, so I decided to go with them.
The organizer was really easy to understand and get it lined up. I felt real confident with him, and the driver was extra friendly. Just enjoyed dealing with him, and he had my truck turned around in the parking lot in no time at all. Everything was just real clean, and he helped me get it to my house, just the next block over.

I was in Mississipi, and I was on my way to Equine Dental School in Idaho when I was involved in a wreck there in Wyoming. I didn't get damage insurance. My truck was towed, as it was hit by a semi, and then 30-something days later, the auto shop decided that they could fix it, so they shipped it to Colorado and had it repaired there, and they expected me to come and pick it up. Fortunately, the auto shop gave me several names, and I selected Stateway to transport it. The auto shop did an Internet search to find Stateway.
I spoke with someone from Stateway on the phone, and I think they sent an email or two. The carrier driver did call me and I think, the day before delivery, they told me he would call that day, and then he would call me again once he got closer. He was a little off on his delivery time, but he called me. For that, I'll give Stateway a five.

It was over the web that I found out about Stateway Auto. It was one of the web searches where they combine different companies and they sent out a quote. I got contacted by a few different companies and they seem to be the best. I was relocating so I needed to ship my vehicle.
The transport took place about a month ago. Both organizers and the carrier driver are both very respectful. Great customer service. It was always a good thing. It's a simple service as far transporting the vehicle from one place to another. But during that time they are very customer oriented and that's always something as a huge factor. I never had any problems so I'm satisfied with the delivery. The car made it from one place to another without any damages. Simple, easy, effective and satisfactory.

I selected Stateway Auto Transport because of their reasonable price. I had received many quotes and while they were not the lowest, they were very reasonable. I had an unusual experience as I was sort of hounded by a guy from another company who was badmouthing Stateway. This guy was telling me how my deposit would be taken and I would never see my car again. For the price Stateway was quoting, my car would never be transported across the country. I told my Stateway representative, Sam, about these disturbing accusations. He assured me everything would be fine and this guy should be concentrating on making his company look good and not other companies look bad, which made perfect sense to me.
So here's the best part. My driver called me on a Friday morning, said he would be there to get my car that night. He picked up my car Friday night and delivered it to its destination (Ohio) Sunday morning! There were no problems! The driver was very professional. He kept me informed throughout the weekend as to when they would arrive in Ohio. I am so glad we stuck with Stateway.

I made a deposit right away on June 18, 2013 and as of today, June 24, 2013, they haven't found any carrier or truck to dispatch, let alone the pick up promise within 7 days. Susie ** is assigned to my case and she never returns her phone calls. She is somewhat responsive to the emails but that is not much help as the vehicle is not even scheduled for pick up yet. They claim themselves to be a carrier and not a broker. I doubt if they have any trucks of their own and that is a total scam. Stay away from them!

Original Review: June 24, 2013
On May 31, I called Rachel ** to provide an updated quotation on my Toyota Sienna van needing transport from CA to PA. She called me back and provided me a quote which I accepted it right away and wanted a credit card. First of all, WITHOUT informing me that they will charge my credit card IMMEDIATELY upon reservation, she quickly hung up the phone. Very unprofessional. And later, when I found out that they had charged my credit card ahead of time, I was very angry and wrote an email and called back to the company, but received NO response, just a forwarded terms and condition from Rachel. Honestly, at that point, I should have cancelled everything and filed a dispute with my credit card company immediately. However, I didn't! BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! My car was ready on June 12th and guess what? It is June 23 and my car is still sitting inside the garage in CA! And I, myself, have already flown over to PA (carless and needing to get a ride everywhere).
This company is a TOTAL SCAM! Seriously, every single time you call their toll free line or any phone number or dial any extension... all you will ever get is a voicemail! You can never reach a LIVE person by dialing their phone number. The past weeks of my life, I have been going through emotional distress because of the unprofessionalism of this company. They keep telling me that my car is priced right and tells me that they have expedited it, and even asked me to pay $100 more so it makes it more attractive for drivers to want to pick up my car! I have also agreed to pay for an extra $100... and it has been nearly 5 days since, still NOTHING! They don't even call me back. I have to call them endlessly throughout my day and literally phone harass them to get a call back and telling me that my information is placed in a central system and if a driver wants to pick up my car, I will receive an email.
At this point, I no longer believe this company anymore. This is a total scam for them to charge my credit card upfront and do absolutely NOTHING to assist me in finding a driver to pickup my car. These are the customer service personnel I have spoken to for the last 3 weeks of misery: 1) Rachel - Probably the worst salesperson I have ever seen. Just wants your credit card without explaining ANYTHING to its customers. And in addition, she has never called me back other than forwarding an email with terms and conditions; 2) Sam - He was first to tell me that they can expedite my vehicle by using my deposit money with them. But, it goes nowhere. 3) Kim - Not sure, seems like she is the manager but she is no help. Tells me that I don't understand their business and that I have to stop calling and just wait for my email to come through with driver's info! Hello??? It’s June 23 and MY CAR STILL IN CALIFORNIA garage!
4) Carol - She tries to help but honestly, it goes nowhere. Every single time I talk to her, she keeps telling me that my car is now on the top 25% in terms of price and drivers should call me right away! And yesterday when I spoke to her, she even mentioned that my car was being shipped out of Beverly Hills??? What? 90210. Seriously! My car was being shipped out from Corona, CA 92880... And I have no idea why they have a total mess up on this! Carol mentioned that because in some areas or streets, drivers don't want to go there! But my car isn't even in 90210. My car is in a total accessible area that houses are huge and roads are extremely wide. It is easily accessible to 15/10/60/91 freeway!
I don't know what to say anymore at this point. Please, if any of you are looking to get your car shipped, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST! It will leave you as devastated as I am right now. Living in a very suburb in PA... I can't go anywhere.

I actually had quite a few emails and responses to my request to transport my son's vehicle from PA to FL. What I like about Stateway Auto was the website and the feedback that I saw on the website, like the testimonials from previous people that hired their services. So that's probably the reason why I chose them. Plus the services were guaranteed and I just like what I saw on the website and especially the testimonials which are important if you ask me. And through my whole experience when setting up the move date, they were like right on time. It was affordable. The people that came which were a third party picked up the vehicle and had it delivered in two days. And it was outstanding.
The carrier driver was outstanding. They communicate, once it was confirmed on the date of pick up, their response to the keeping in touch with the exact time that they would be coming and picking up the vehicle at my home; they were very much in contact with my son when they got down to the Florida area - the one that they would be delivering the vehicle to and where to meet. The whole thing went very smoothly. I was very impressed.
I will tell you, I was nervous, a nervous wreck, with the car going thousands of miles across the country. It arrived in great condition. I would definitely use Stateway Auto again.

The way I heard of Stateway Auto was that I just looked for transport companies on the internet and I saw them. I saw that they had their own trucks and it looked like it was pretty good. But then I didn't call them at first because I checked with the Better Business Bureau and saw that they had a C- and were listed as lot of complaints. So I went to another outfit, Magic Carpet, which had an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and that did not work out. They gave me a very low quote and then couldn't get (they were a broker) a driver to comply with it so they asked me for more money. I said I'll throw in some more, they wouldn't throw in anymore and then they couldn't get anybody on that.
So I called back to Stateway and talked to Rachel **. And she was just great. She explained to me that the Better Business Bureau gives you an A rating because you pay them some money. That was quite a disappointment for me but I think I heard that before but if I had, I'd forgotten it. So anyway, then I checked with them and gave her the information, made the deposit, and she complied. I think actually in this case they didn't send one of their own trucks; they acted as a broker. But the fellow that they sent down was prompt, very informative.
He was with, I think, Transworks or something like that. And he was great and the vehicle was a '94 Buick Roadmaster. The guy who had it before had put on smaller tires so it was just barely clearing the ground. He did a great job of getting all that stuff taken care of. And again I credit Stateway with his good work too because they were very responsive and informative when I had questions ahead of time. And they were very responsive on my requests. So anyway, it was a very positive experience for me.
I didn't use the online tracking tool as it was just a short trip. The truck was going up to Denver. So he picked it up at like 10:00 and around 7:30 or 8:00 my son called and said, 'It's off the truck up here,' so I didn't need to do any tracking.
What stood out was that Rachel was persistent. She just left a couple of email thing you know if you want to. So it was really easy for me to get a hold of her to call her back and when I did call up and talk to her, I got an actual live person and her mission was actually to talk to me on the phone. It wasn't to get me off the phone. And the first time I talked to her, I talked to her for quite a while and I didn't actually make the commitment right then if I'm correct. I think I waited a little longer. So anyway the point is that if I did, it was at the end of the call. So she spent her time talking to me and I appreciated that too. They were excellent.

I paid them on 5/30/13. As of 6/15/13, I have no idea if it got picked up. They are supposed to have picked it up finally tonight, but I cannot figure out how to track a car. They do not make it easy. IF they do, in fact, have a tracking service. I have been nothing but frustrated with the whole process. It should not be that difficult to track a vehicle, which makes me wonder if it was just for show. Tracking the car’s progress was one if the reasons I chose them to begin with. Alas! I had to ship my car to Stafford, TX. I went online and entered my information. There were a few companies that popped up. I sent them an email, and they responded to my request. Of course, I went with the company that offered a good price. I looked at Stateway Auto's website and got a feel of the company. I had a few exchange with one of the people from there. I think his first name was Dave, if I remember right. I felt comfortable so I went with them.
The driver was very nice, and I felt comfortable. The driver was able to deliver my car to Texas and there were no complaints so I assumed everything's fine. The only problem, I guess, occurred at the time I received the notice. I received an email saying, 'We're going to pick up your car today.' I thought it was a little rushed, and I hoped they could have given me a day earlier. I didn't have any prior experience about transporting cars. I rushed to prepare the car and then I realized it wouldn't be that kind of a rush. I slowed down a little. The arrangement was very late in the day, like after my dinner time. It was fine, but it would have been good if they gave me a day in advance so I could think a bit more.
I don't have much experience, but I will say Stateway Auto was very good. They provide a pretty excellent service, and I'm satisfied.

I needed my car to be transported back home to Newton, MA from Indiana (where my daughter was in college). I asked friends from our synagogue if anyone knew of a company that offered car transport services. Two people recommended Stateway Auto. I spoke to Rachel, and she was really nice. She gave me a speech that was acceptable. She didn't have to go out, bid it or anything. She got back to me and gave me a quote that was cheaper than another one that called me the same day.
We only had a few days window, and they said that they would send it a few days earlier. However, it was not a good time for us. It was impossible for us to send the car. I called Rachel and she said she'll put it back on the board. Sure enough, the fellow came exactly the day we need him to. It was great that we had his direct line. He communicated very well with my daughter, and they even arrived earlier than they said to my house. He was the nicest person.
I'm also not computer savvy so I wasn't able to use their online tracking tool, but Stateway Auto helped us by telling us what was going on along the way. I suppose my experience with them is the best one can have when dealing with a very stressful situation of sending a car from one point to another.

My uncle passed away in New Mexico and that's where the car would've come and go. I found out that he had used car transport whenever he was going somewhere. And so I went online and put in 'auto transport'. I got multiple people contact me regarding transporting our vehicle. I spoke to Bill from Stateway Auto, and he seemed to be concerned not only about what I was going through, but about the vehicle as well, and making sure that it got there safely. That's the reason why I went with him.
As far as the quote they provided, there were two other companies that offered a cheaper rate. However, it was not about the fact that it was cheaper; it was about who was going to take care of my vehicle more. Bill was phenomenal, and they certainly informed me as to what was going on with my vehicle - where it was and what they were doing all the way down the line.
The only issue that I had is that I don't speak Spanish, and their driver did. We could not communicate at all. However, when my son drove me up to get the car, the car was off the carrier, and he was waiting for me. You know, the language barrier can come and go. Maybe I just got a Hispanic speaking driver, I don't know. They might have English speaking drivers too. I was very impressed with their service and would definitely tell other people to call them. Phenomenal.

I selected Stateway Auto from a number of transport companies online. First, I tried another one and my experience wasn't too good. They weren't promising delivery and it was getting close to my deadline. But when I contacted Stateway, they got right on, their price quote was fair, and I was very, very pleased with the service.
The transport happened on May 2nd. The organizer and the driver were both personable. My time was very short to get the job done, and they ''short-cutted'' the procedure and handled it very efficiently. The driver that had been assigned called me properly, told me about when he would arrive and when he would call. I told him the place where our contact would be very good for me. And he was right on time. The experience was very good. I can't think of anything that could have been done any better.

I asked for an online quote to ship my son's Jeep to him (he is in the military) to Minot, ND and included the zip code. I got a quote... then proceeded to make him an airline reservation since their quote was reasonable. Two hours later, I get a call that they can't ship it to Minot, ND and I asked them why they gave me a quote. They said that is only an estimate. Rip-off for 2 reasons: #1 they quote an exact amount and their website says "no hidden fees"; #2 they couldn't even deliver his Jeep to the destination they quoted on. I am so angry.

I placed order on 5/23/13. They emailed about my order on 5/24/13. They picked up my car on 6/4/13. You can tell how anxious I was. Then, the truck driver called to pick up the car, never tell you the exact time to pick up. At first, he said two hours away. I waited for him. Two hours passed and finally 5 hours later, he showed up. Damn! (He said would be there at 11am, then he showed up at about 3pm to pick up my car!) About to deliver my car. My address is just under the Bay Bridge, San Francisco and IT IS EASY TO FIND. He said he could not find it. You can google it. IT IS JUST RIGHT THERE. Man, this is not my first time to have my car shipped. WHY CAN EVERYONE (other truck drivers) FIND IT, BUT YOU CAN'T FIND IT?
PLUS, the streets about my house has ENOUGH SPACE for you to go and turn around and GO UP TO THE FREEWAY! He told me, “The BEST WAY for me to be "here" to get your car is to take taxi.” ("Here" meaning, I need to take taxi to meet him to the place that he just dropped off the other cars.) That was what he said. He said he just dropped off other cars. What I felt was that he was too lazy to move his truck to my house. He just wanted people to meet him up and save his gas. Excuse me, Stateway. Are your services DOOR TO DOOR SERVICES? WHY do I have to take TAXI to get my car? Hey people, if you want to have this kind of GOOD services, please use it.

We needed a car out for a couple of months. I did a search online and found a website that said 'Like move my car' or something. Stateway Auto sent out a quote through email and it was fine; it was in line with the others. The transport took place in May. The pickup was fine, but the drop off was wrong. We just needed to have better communication. We got a call that the driver was in the area in the morning because he said that he was in the town next to ours. So we assumed that he'd be here soon. I did not get to use the online tracking tool. He didn't actually drop the car off until 10:30 later that night. I had to have someone receive the car for me.
They also need to let you know that they won't be able to get the truck down the driveway. The person receiving my car did not know that and was expecting them to pull up in her driveway. He did pull up with the car, which is fine, but then he wanted a ride back to his truck. She did not drive him back because the kids were home, and she didn't want to leave them alone. I would use them again, but I would clarify the drop off and pickup time. We need a better estimate.

I have a tractor to transport and that was really going to be the hard thing to get. Everybody else could do the trucking with the car, but the tractor was a special issue. I found out about Stateway Auto online. I checked about 5 different places and they weren't the lowest and weren't the highest. They were right in the middle which means fair to me. But it seems like they were the ones that were going to be able to get a drive here with the tractor.
I talked to a guy named Adam and he was very knowledgeable. I asked him a lot of questions and he got back with me on certain ones. He was really good about figuring out how to transport a tractor - the guy needs to know how to get that, who could, and which particular driver could deal with that tractor. He did it and that was a really good experience.
We went from Denver to Wichita. They picked the vehicle up on a Friday. There was a bad storm and that made it even slower. The driver called me back and I called him. I really appreciate that too because you usually don't get calls returned. It was good. It really got here quicker than I needed to. We got it a week from the following Tuesday. He had a really horrible place to have to unload it, but he did it fine. And then he couldn't drive out of the area where it was unloaded so he had to back up that thing for probably not quite half a mile but close to it. Overall, the experience was great. I didn't have any problems so that means everything was just very good.

I was moving from Texas to Florida. I'm single and I have too many vehicles. I found out about Stateway Auto online. They were in the top 15 or 20 in the country. They gave me the best rate and service, so I went ahead with them.
Everybody was really nice. They picked up when they say they would. The only deal that came up was I had to leave the car to somebody else's hands and my friend had to deal with them guys. They said they're going to be there in one day and they ended up a day late. They did stay in communication with each other as far as I understand it better. I would have liked it if they would have just said, ''Hey, I'm going to be there on a certain day,'' and they were there on that particular day.
But I do understand how things go because they're picking up cars all the time. Juggling the schedule the whole bit. No harm done. That was the only thing. They made arrangements. They more or less picked it up from my friend. They delivered it on time. There were no bumps, bangs, or anything like that.
They're a reputable company. They went ahead and delivered on time. They did everything that they were supposed to even though I prepaid. As far as I'm concerned, they are okay - considering that it was the first time I ever shipped anything like that. It wasn't any worse than going to the post office with a box. I was satisfied, and I would recommend them to anybody.

Driver can't drop off the car because the contract they have with Stateway says that I have to pay $600! Of course the driver can't get a hold of Stateway and neither can his boss and neither can I! The whole problem started 3 weeks ago with Adam. Wanted to ship my car from Dallas to Cleveland, Ohio. I had a set window to accept the delivery due to work. I was told that they would have it there, no problem. They quoted me $595 for the shipment. After waiting a week and a half, I got no word as to if the trucker had been assigned. Call after call after call was met with an answering machine. I would start calling at 9AM and called every hour. At 6PM I would finally receive a call back from a different customer service rep each time. They told me they would expedite with an addition of $50 a day to get a drive to bite.
Well after finally getting a driver assigned 4 days before I needed the car delivered, the paperwork showed that the car was operable, which it was not and was told to Adam 2 weeks before. Tried all day to call them to explain the screw up. Finally talked to Kim at 6PM and she said they would have to call the driver to see if he had a winch. They did not call at all. Also, he did not have a winch and nobody from Stateway had called him.

I couldn't put any more money if I needed a repair where I was. So I had to ship back rather than leave without my vehicle. The pickup point was Detroit, Michigan to Cohoes, NY. I was trying to find quotes online. I put my information and then the west side gave it out to 15-20 different places that all bombarded me with phone calls.
I was happy with the price quote from Stateway Auto. It was the lowest quote out of every at least 20 different companies that called me. And the big thing for me was I wanted to make sure that the price wasn't gonna change 'cause a lot of the competitors were all trying to convince me that their price was a little bit more money, but they were guaranteeing me that it was gonna be on time and the price wasn't gonna change. Stateway Auto gave me a rough estimate of what I was willing to wait for to get the vehicle picked up, and that the price wasn't gonna change. I decided to go with them over the competition.
When I coordinate with the transport organizer, it was mainly through email. And then the person that emailed me was out of office so I talked to somebody else. They were very good. We didn't talk long. We just finalized the stuff and they sent me over the emails. That was perfect. They said the process could be within the week. And the driver actually picked it up than the day after I had left, so it was the next day. They said it was gonna take 3 days once the driver picked it up. And the driver was actually there later. He picked it up early the one morning I was there later the afternoon or the next day. The driver was very good and a very nice guy.
On the day of delivery, he called me to let me know he was in the area. He told me not to worry, that he'd rush it whenever I was available, which was good. I think he went and grabbed a bite to eat to make sure I was home. And then I was home so he came over and he was just really nice. He got me my vehicle very quickly.
I had a horrific time with my vehicle on vacation and I didn't know what to do with it... I was trying a bunch of different things. So the fact that it was smooth, it worked out, and it was the best price to deal with, I definitely give it a 5. I'd recommend Stateway Auto. I would say it was a great experience. If I ever found myself in the same situation, I'd use the company again.

I was relocating. I didn't wanna drive my car; it was too far. Then a person recommended me to Stateway Auto that had used their services before. If he had a good experience, he wouldn't recommend me somebody bad. And I think the price quote was fair based on the distance. The pickup point was Tampa, FL and delivery was Sta. Maria, CA, coast to coast.
Basically it was all done on the first call. I obviously contacted them a couple of weeks in advance. They said, ''Hey, when do you want the vehicle picked up?'' I gave them the date. On the said date, the driver called me to advise me he was about 30 minutes now. We established a good meeting point. And then he came and dropped off the car. The delivery was 10 days. It went off as scheduled. It was pretty straightforward... Smooth and reliable.

My son worked at the East Coast. He's moving back so he needs his car to come back. Before, I had a contract with another company, but they changed the price at the last minute. I was in such a hurry to find another company to do it. Then I got online quotes and I got tons of it. And then Stateway is one of them. Then I went into the Auto Review (whatever the auto transportation review) and then that's how I found them. Their price is competitive. And I decided to go with them because I like the way that they responded. And they stick with their price. And then they're very kind, very efficient and very professional.
When I called, it's always an answering machine. I couldn't get hold of anybody directly. But they always call back right away. And the only confusion I had was, when I call, the message says Rachel, but when somebody calls me back, it's a different person. But they're very helpful. I asked a few questions, and then they answered me. And the delivery driver was kind and very professional. The whole process took about a week. Everything is perfect.

The city that I sent from is Roscoe, Illinois and I sent it to Los Angeles, California. My daughter got a job in California so she moved out there and instead of me driving the car out, we decided to ship it. I went online and just asked for bids and I got a bunch of them. Stateway Auto was not the cheapest, but they were the most thorough when I talked to them and didn't have any hidden fees and things like that.
What happened was, I wasn't sure my daughter would be there, because she's a flight attendant, so she might have been called on a trip and we had to have someone there. And I wasn't really sure if her husband could be there also. When I talked to the gal, she was awesome. She said, ''Don't worry about it. You got three days to figure out where we're going to drop it off. So please don't worry.'' She was awesome!
The process took probably a couple of weeks because he was unable to take the car off until the end of the week. She was already out there. But we knew that. We knew that might happen. And it was not a huge deal. And the driver was very nice. The only glitch was he spoke very little English. So it was really hard to understand him. But he was so polite and nice. Everything else was awesome.
Stateway Auto did a super job... a super company! They are very helpful and very professional. I'd recommend them to anybody and I would use them again.

Obviously, Stateway Auto Transport has a real problem. They have way too many negative reviews to be false. I paid quickly and was told it would be picked up in 1-7 days. That passed, I called again and again and again and again and again. Really, all day. They don't guard the phone and everything is an answering machine. Finally, I get through. They said they would expedite and take less. Seven more days passed and still no pick up. Now, I got to do the phone thing again. But I got money and lawyer for free unlike some of you, so I am just going to have another company pick up and ship then sue and not settle in arbitration but actually make them come to court and put their words on record.

I learned about Stateway Auto through a friend. We were moving from Mahopac, New York to Sarasota, Florida and the main reason why I wanted my vehicle transported was that I didn't want to drive other than that. The price quote was good and the entire process took about 3 weeks.
I had a few questions for Adam, the transport organizer, as things progressed. He answered me right away all the time and put me in the loop; he was very responsive. The driver was a great and nice guy too. He kept me posted where he was, and he did call me about an hour before he got in. He was a very pleasant man, very nice to deal with.
The whole thing was kind of new to me. It's my car and I'm a little worried. Any questions I had for Adam or as we progressed to the carrier, both were very responsive, very flexible and had a handle on everything, kept me calm, gave me information and they were nice people to deal with. I was very pleased with the whole operation. The whole experience was pleasant and professional. They really did a great job. It was really good and it really makes a difference.

They made me feel good about my decision since everyone in the whole company was very friendly, professional, they give good information and the service is pretty satisfying. It took them five days to deliver my car after I set the appointment with them. The carrier that brought it to Las Vegas was awesome. He was very nice, friendly, caring, efficient and thorough. I made a quarter bit of research on various companies and I found a site which shows the customer comments. I know that a lot of different thing could happen obviously. But I was just very, very pleased with Stateway Auto's service. The vehicle was owned by a company I have in partner with in Arizona and it was abandoned here in California. I just needed to ship it back to Arizona to be sold. I called to set it up. The price quote was good - it wasn't the lowest and it wasn't the highest. The interaction I had with the person I talked to was also very good. She told me that it would be scheduled within 1-7 days. Actually she called me back within I think 24 hours. They gave me a schedule time for it. We went from there. The process took probably about 8 days, from the initial setup to the time the vehicle was delivered. I also had interaction with the person who picked up the car - it was good. They came when they said they would. They dropped it off when they said they would.
The only thing I was surprised about - and I wasn't upset about - I was told early on that the car wouldn't be stored, and it would be put on a carrier, take it straight over there. That's not what happened - it was picked up on a small three car carrier moved to east bay, like Pleasanton Livermore, and then it was transferred to a larger carrier. But I didn't really care as long as the car got there safe and it got there on time, quickly, and no damages were done on the car. Everything went very, very smooth. Very professional.

I was shipping a vehicle, an 83 Mercedes 300CD back to Pennsylvania from Scottsdale, AZ. I just sort of looked at the websites, reviews. I sent an email then finally got connected to an answering machine. They originally said that they would match any lower quotes, so I shared that with them. We've had a discussion. For the small difference, I felt that it could be a good service. I thought the pricing quote was fair. It wasn't the lowest - the range was $700 or $750 up to $1200. It was $895. I spoke with Mr. ** and he explained the difference. I was looking for a good service and a safe delivery. I was comfortable with that.
It was expedited. I called them on the weekend. I believe they picked the car up on Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week and had it delivered on Sunday. They delivered it actually a day or 2 earlier than expected. He had it here on Sunday evening. So it was very good. I got to speak with the truck driver for a while. He seemed like a very nice fellow. Actually the driver was very good at keeping a quote within a 24 hour period. It turned out as we discuss things we chose the different locations for delivery. There was no problem... He rearranged his delivery route to meet me just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which worked out better for maneuvering his carrier and also for us. So I was pleased with that. I guess from the initial phone call the process would have been pretty much exactly a week. Good service and quality and fast delivery!

I moved from Rhode Island to California and I had two cars. I drove one out so I had to have one shipped. I did it online and I got a whole bunch of calls that started coming in from different companies. I was pretty much a little bit leaning toward Stateway Auto and one other company. It looked pretty close (the other ones were a little bit higher). Stateway Auto gave me a good quote and probably the best one that I got out of 10 companies.
There was an initial email and then they called me just to let me know that the actual driver would be calling to let me know when the pickup date on Rhode Island would be. Then the transporter called and said that he was gonna be picking the car up, which he did. He said it would be about 7 to 9 days before I got here to California and on the 7th day he showed up. He actually came a day early. So it was good. Because of the way the traffic is here and everything, he parked a full street down and actually drove the car up to the driveway. And then I gave him a ride back for his truck. I paid him, he gave me the receipt, and off he went. It was gonna be 7-10 days from when I booked it before they picked the car up in Rhode Island, so the entire process from beginning to end was like two weeks. Stateway Auto picked the car up when they said they would and dropped it off when they said they would.
I hear a lot of horror stories about people and when they show up it's supposed to be a $1000 balance and all of a sudden it's $1,500 (you know, about foreign exchange and all the stuff). But Stateway Auto gave me an all-inclusive quote. I asked them before I booked it. I said, 'This is it, right? I mean, I'm gonna give you deposit, and then when he shows up, it's a $1000 balance when he got here? That's it. It's gonna be the thousand dollars, right?' They said that was it. Then the driver came and it was a thousand dollars and everything went smooth. I was just happy and relieved. It was a hassle-free experience. I'd recommend them.

I received a call from a girl named Danielle on Wednesday after asking a friend to call the company and pretend she was a new customer, and only then did they call her back and she handed the phone over to me. I was told they are still trying to find a driver. All I want is my deposit back so I can find a different company to get the car here as soon as possible. I start work on Wednesday, 17th of April, and the car is still in California.
I received a call today from a lady asking me if I would be willing to meet the driver in Amarillo, TX (which is 45 minutes away from Borger, TX) if they can get the car here by the end of this week? I went on the internet and I filled out some form. I must have got responses from about 10 different companies. The lowest price quote I got was a $1,000; the highest one I got was $1,200. The quote that was given to me by Stateway Auto is like $1190 or something like that, but they were within range. And on their website, there was the ability to track. That was one reason I picked them.
I had no problems. I told them where the car was, where it had to be. (It was picked up in Clifton, New Jersey and it went to Mountain View, California.) And they came the morrow and they adhered and they sent me a quote and I called them back and they said, 'Somebody will contact you within a couple of days.' A couple of days later I got a call from the driver. He says, 'Be there between 2:00 and 4:00.' About 2:30-3:00 he called and he was about three blocks away. He said, 'I got a big trailer. I can't make it down in your street.' So I drove the car down there. We loaded it up and then 5 or 6 days it was in California. From that point where I called them and said the car's ready to go, to the time I was told it got out to California, I would say (in total) everything was maybe anywhere from 8 or up to 10 days.
Stateway Auto told me exactly what was gonna happen and it did happen. When the driver called, he was very courteous, and he was on time. When he got out to California, he called my son and he said he's gonna be there, he says, at such time. And he was there on time. I mean everything was fine. Even my son had a good experience dealing with him. He's simply proficient, professional, and on time.

I had arranged a pickup with Adam from Stateway Auto Transport. It took a few seconds to accept payment. I cancelled the transport order within 24 hours. After several emails to Adam (he refuses to reply), I called and was able to speak only to one of his co-workers and cancelled but still no confirmation. I called again and spoke to somebody from their accounting who told me that a credit would be refunded on the next billing cycle of my Visa. This was a lie.
I received a call from their accounting to confirm a refund, but when I returned this call, I cannot get a real person to speak to. Beware of this outfit. They have a great sales pitch - it gives you the feeling of great service but that is apparently where the professionalism ends. This will become a legal matter if I cannot get my $175.00 back.

Trying to arrange for my car being sent to Colorado was, perhaps, the worst experience I have ever been involved with in my entire life.Their phone system does not allow for any direct call to the company and, 24 hours a day, all you will hear when you try to make a direct contact with any of their sales folks is something like, "Due to the unusual number of calls being received, please leave your name, phone number and a brief message," etc., etc., etc. I received the same message when I knew that the office was closed. It's simply amazing.
Their numerous promises to me about setting up a date for a car pick up, all were just that, empty promises. I am 79 years old. I had non-cancellable airline tickets from Boston to Denver at $600++. I lost out on these tickets as I had to drive the 2,300 mile distance, along with gasoline, meals, motels. etc. and it was $1,000++ again down the drain. Initially, they were very responsive to get my business but not responsive when it came to updates and status of the pick up of the vehicle my husband and I were looking to ship. They took a deposit of $175 and assured me that I would be contacted within 7 business days. Needless to say, no one contacted us and if not for me contacting them, I truly did not feel I would have been contacted at all. I cancelled the order earlier today and requested my deposit back from them. They cancelled it after trying to talk me into keeping my business with them, which I decided not to do (based upon my gut feeling). I was informed that it could take up to 7 days to return my funds to my account - an e-mail generated message also indicated that if I disputed with my credit card company it could possibly cancel the request altogether.
The company must be used to cancellations and the return of deposits based upon its e-mail generated response. I will be reviewing my account to make sure my funds are returned within the 7 days as indicated by the company. I contacted another company at 1:00 pm today (their quote was higher than this company) and they picked up my vehicle by 6:00 pm today - problem solved. Kim, needless to say, I am very disappointed in the way my order was handled. Not only did I initially (after the order) get ignored and pushed off by Dana, the salesperson who set up the order, but was completely failed by your dispatch department. My car apparently never had a chance of being delivered within the time period stated on the contract and assured to be realistic by Dana. I understand completely that transport schedules are not always precise, but you had ten cars ahead of me going to the same area. You were unable to make transport arrangements for those cars, some for several weeks. I understand salespeople are not the most honest, often saying whatever is needed to make a sale, making those promises happen seems to always get placed on others' shoulders. But Stateway has some level of responsibility to its clients.
In the future, please don't promise what you know you can't deliver. Based on Dana's promises, which I trusted, I prepaid for 2 nights in a Salt Lake City hotel, which I can't use or get refunded. I paid on Travelocity for a ticket for my daughter to fly to Salt Lake to pick up the car, which isn't transferable or refundable. She now is incurring the expense and lost time to travel to Salt Lake with her car. I am also now forced to incur the expense of paying for another ticket to fly my wife back from Salt Lake City since my daughter had to be accompanied on the drive. Stateway's failure to be upfront and honest has caused us significant financial loss, time off loss and worst of all, I was hoping to return from being out of state with 2 days to spare prior to my daughter leaving for college. I didn't have that time. It was stolen by false promises by Stateway.
Kim, I don't blame you for this but I wish Dana had been more honest. I want no further explanation or excuses, I want you to refund the fee I paid in advance, it wasn't earned. I would like to receive an email by 12 noon eastern time tomorrow this has been done. That will close this matter. Kim, you have been professional in every way. You have done what you could to make up for Dana's shortfalls and lack of customer care and communication. Please refund my account and end this very badly handled matter.

From the beginning, all I have heard were lies. They told me that my car would be picked up within 7 days, August 10, and they are now telling me that it will not be picked up until the 22nd. They told me that it would be delivered by the 23rd and they are now telling me that it will be around the 27th. On their website, they say that they don't outsource the shipping but I was just given the phone number of another company to contact about my shipment. I would never use this company again. They are impossible to get a hold of and when you do get them on the phone, all they do is lie to you. No one should ever use this company! Worst experience ever.

I have been lied to more than 10 times! I now have to rent a car, pay for storage from place I bought it from and people names Rachel and Andy are just fronts and liars. I am having my attorney contact the District Attorney for the county that they do business. I paid them the deposit that they asked for upfront and basically have been lied to since. I am shocked that the DA has not stepped in and shut them down much less cannot see how these people can even look their family members in the eye and sleep at night knowing that they lie to people all day long. If it were someone else in a position of authority, they would be behind bars. I paid them three weeks ago. It has cost me far more than I ever expected. I assure everyone on this site that my attorney will make certain these people are accountable. Every person who works there is somebody's child. It amazes me that nobody has conviction any longer. It makes me sick.

We had scheduled our vehicle to be picked up in Washington State on June 18 to be delivered to us in Massachusetts and paid a $200.00 deposit. June 18th came and went and the vehicle was never picked up. When we would call and ask when the vehicle was going to be picked up, we were told that our pick up date was just a guideline and that they had a 7-business day window around that to pick it up. We waited the seven days and called again. We were told that it had been scheduled to be picked up, but the driver had a death in the family and it would be a few more days. Another few days went by and we called again and were told basically that they had no idea when it would be picked up, but that we could entice the driver to pick up the vehicle by offering them another $100.00! Andy told us that they would deduct that $100.00 from the deposit we paid and refund it to us. We are still waiting!
We have had enough of this shady business and called (leaving a message again because they do not answer their phones) and left a message stating that we wanted to cancel our vehicle shipment and get a refund of our deposit. Two hours later, they called to say they had a driver dispatched to pick it up, so we allowed for the order to continue (but found it to be a funny coincidence that now that we wanted to cancel, a truck was available). Our vehicle was finally picked up on July 3rd - over two weeks later (and long after we needed it to be here). Once the vehicle was picked up, we were told it would take almost another two weeks for it to arrive! They offer vehicle tracking on their website and we requested it several times and never received anything back from them. We finally got our car delivered on July 13 - almost a month later!

I placed the order to ship my car from CA to TN on June 21st and they promised to pickup my car on June 26th or 27th and have it deliver to my house four days later. It's now July 5th and they haven't picked up my car yet. I called many, many times and left many messages for them to call me about when they are going to pick up my car, but got one call back after 10 days. They told me the guy named David who gave me the quote and charged me $175 upfront using my credit card had been fired on June 22nd. They also said that the days they promised me that they will pick up my car from CA which was either June 26th or 27th was not a guarantee date. It depends if they can find the driver or not. I told them that was not what David told me and of course the dude is no longer there.
Anyway, I called back today and another guy, Andy, told me to pay extra $100 cash (total $800) to the driver when the guy(s) delivered my car, and he will give me back $100 to my credit card. I was so stupid that I would listen to these guys and this company, and my car still sitting in CA when I'm already in TN without a car for almost three weeks now. I'm not sure how I picked this unreliable company in the first place. You have to call them a dozen of times before they would call you back and now they don't even know when my car will be shipped. Do not use this transport company! This is the worst car transport company in the country. The company staff is unresponsive and irresponsible. The driver is rude, unprofessional, and barely speaks English. First, they tried to dispatch the driver without even calling us to schedule a date and time. Then, on the morning of the pickup date, the driver called my fiance’s phone eight times at 7:00am, after I had specifically told them to call my cell phone and not my fiance’s. When my fiancé answered the phone, the driver told him that he didn’t have our address! The driver could barely communicate in English. The driver later called again, saying he couldn’t find our house. My fiancé had to cancel all his appointments for that morning so that he could go meet the driver and lead him back to our house. Ridiculous! I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone. I really regret using this company.

Don't be fooled by a fancy website advertising “quality, completed satisfaction, best price, special discounts for military, etc.” This company is a fraud. They advertise that they use their own drivers when in fact they are nothing more than a broker house advertising one thing than doing another. I contracted with them on May 29 to have a car shipped from Alabama to California and paid them a deposit and agreed to pay a determined price on delivery. I flew to Alabama to pick up the car and then made sure it gets on a transport before the 18th of June. I was told this would not be a problem and that I had plenty of time. The only way to reach these folks is by chatting online. For those of us who are traveling and don't have internet access, it's pretty difficult. They never answer the phone or return calls.
I chatted two days before my return flight and was told that my order had not yet been dispatched, meaning I'm screwed. The only way to get the car to California is to cancel my flight and drive the car home myself. I don't ship cars often, but if I ever do, it will not be with Stateway. They should be named "Stayway." I was told I would get my deposit back. We'll see. There’s no way to get my airline fare back.

Complaint number 2: You can never directly reach the customer service people. You always get an answering machine. They are not prompt in returning your call either.
Complaint 3: They claim to have "no hidden fees", other than the "upgrade" fee of 300 or something dollars to get it picked up within 3 business days.
Complaint 4: They only tell you what you want to hear and not what they can produce. They claim to have their own cars, which at first assured me that they would be able to get their drivers to pick up my car on time, but now they come back with statements saying that they had "no control" over the drivers.
Complaint 5: They are not upfront about anything. For instance, when I contacted them a month and a half before asking whether it would be alright to ship around the New Year and whether it would cause delays, they assured me that it would be fine. Now, they claim that the holidays are the reason they are so late with their pick up.

My daughter decided to move back from California, so I started looking for transport companies for her car. All prices seemed to be around the same but Stateway stated "no hidden cost" and that they had vehicle tracking. I received a call that my daughter was going to be picked up on Saturday afternoon. The driver never showed up until Sunday morning and was very rude to my daughter. I was originally told by Stateway Auto Transport that my daughter is able to put 150 pounds in her trunk. When the driver got there, he told my daughter that she has to pay an extra $100.00 for the stuff in her trunk. I contacted Stateway Auto and I was told to just pay the $750.00 and I could pay in a cashier check. Well, the driver was very adamant that I pay cash only and must be $850.00. Well, I left several messages and emails regarding this and have yet to hear back from anyone.

My spouse is on active duty military and we received orders to move from NC to CA. I contacted Stateway Auto at the end of October 2010 for a quote to ship my car on December 17, 2010. The quote process was quick and efficient. After a few days, and more decisions that were made in order to make our move successful, we decided to ship my husband's truck instead of my car. I called my quote representative, David, and was unable to reach him by telephone, so I left a message. After a few hours, I called back and spoke to a completely different person who re-ran the quote, assured me that shipping over the holidays was done all the time, and took a $165 deposit on my credit card.
I did not hear back from the company at all regarding this order until my husband tried to reach them on Monday, the week of shipping. Meanwhile, I have now moved to CA, my husband has temporary duty in New England, and my parents have agreed to help us, if needed, from VA. He had not heard from them or a driver regarding our scheduled pick up day or time. I began calling and emailing the company, too. I connected with a live person at Stateway Auto by Wednesday of that week. My representative, David, has now told me that there is a problem with the order and that I have been passed to his supervisor, Susie. I spoke with Susie. She spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me explaining the car shipping process and apologizing for having our order slip through the cracks. She is honest with me and tells me that since it is now one week before Christmas, it is very likely that our car will not ship. And given the New Year holiday right around the corner, it is also likely that it will not ship until early January. She recommended, and I agreed, to let our order stay on their books until December 27, 2010 when she would follow up with me about a path forward.
On December 27, 2010, I found it very difficult to reach Susie and when we did finally connect on the phone, there was no new information. My husband and I were starting to get concerned that our car would not be here in time for him to report to his new job, and we needed a car. I called and emailed David and Susie during the next few days and received no response. Given our situation, we decided to go ahead and buy another car. My parents in VA have agreed to car sit for us while we are in CA. So we have now decided not to ship the truck. We needed our second vehicle and that is why we made arrangements to ship it with Stateway Auto. I spoke to David on December 29, 2010 and asked to get our full deposit refunded and the order canceled.
On January 4, 2011, I had no refund or confirmation that our order had been canceled. I called and spoke to David. David said that he needed a supervisor approval to generate the refund and that had not happened yet. On January 5, 2011, I received an email confirmation from David that our refund amount of $145 will be refunded. I emailed him back and asked him why I was not getting my full refund of $165. I never heard back from him.
I started pursuing complaints through the Better Business Bureau about Stateway Auto. Once I found the management contact name and telephone number at Stateway Auto, I contacted that number to fully disclose our situation and the fact that I will be writing a negative review about my entire experience. I spoke with a well-spoken lady, Suzanne **. She and I spent 30 minutes on the phone discussing my entire situation. She recognized that our situation was handled poorly and assured me that the $145 refund amount was a mistake and I would be getting the full $165 refund. She also informed me of how an order is supposed to be handled from quote to completed shipping. Our order did not get processed as outlined by the company procedures.
I do not know where the problem in this organization lies. I can tell you that trying to reach our representative, David, and the supervisor, Susie, by telephone and email was very difficult and frustrating. As an active duty military family, we depend on companies and people to help us move frequently with as much success as possible. Any move from an apartment across town to moving across the globe is stressful. We make many decisions leading up to, during, and after the move of our household goods, children, pets, and cars. It is very disappointing to have made a decision early in the moving process and have it not work out at all. I am very frustrated that we ended up buying a second car, asking my parents to add a third vehicle to their lives, having my parents drive and maintain our car, and at the poor customer service received by this company. I will not recommend this company to our military co-workers (active and retired) and will not recommend them to family and friends. I canceled the shipping contract due to no/poor customer service and full refund of initial deposit taken on credit card 8 weeks later.

Stateway Auto has one of the worst services I've ever encountered. From their website, I thought they have the best service in the industry but I was totally wrong. A nice man from their office promised everything to me assuming to get my business, but come pick up date, their delivery truck didn't show up at all. Take note I had called them several times in the past 2 weeks leading up to the promised pick up date, and they kept on promising and smooth talking me that everything was on schedule.
We ended up setting a new pick up date, and yet the truck driver (their delivery guy) didn't make it too on that day so my brother ended up driving the car 70-80 miles to meet the truck driver half way! Take note that their quote and our contract/agreement was to pick up my car from my brother's home. To make up for their lousy service, Stateway Auto promised to send me a token credit check ($ 50) that week. While I was very upset with what happened, I thought the gesture was an act of good will. It turned out that I was wrong about that as well. It's been 8 weeks since they promised to send me the check, but until now, I haven't received it. Worst of all, I've called and emailed their office several times to follow up, but no one has extended me the courtesy of a return call or email. I really think that someone should report them to the authorities. I'm a very easy going person and it takes a great deal of bad customer service to really upset me, so that says a lot about Stateway Auto.

I finally spoke to Rebecca a week later after leaving many messages that were not returned. She told me that I was on an easy route. Within two days, the vehicle was picked up and transported. It was stated in writing that a refund for my deposit would be made within five business days due to the fact that I had to pay additional storage. I was almost two weeks without a vehicle due to their negligence and I placed a deposit to have my vehicle picked at a certain date and it was well beyond that date that job was actually done. I contracted with them on July 13 to move my vehicle from Wisconsin to Alabama. The quoted price was $485.00 with $165.00 deposit down via credit card, the remaining balance ($320.00) due at delivery in cash. The delivery driver would not release the vehicle until I paid him $370.00. Many attempts to contact Stateway has met with negative results.

I am a student and wanted to ship my car back home for Memorial Day weekend. Every company I spoke with gave me the runaround about how it would take up to two weeks to get my car across country. Then a friend of mine recommended that I call Stateway. When I spoke with Rebecca, she assured me that my car would arrive in 6-8 days and helped me set up the shipment to where it would arrive on Friday on the holiday weekend.
At first, I was expecting this not to happen based on some of the horror stories out there and there were even some companies who were harassing me with annoying emails and non-stop phone calls about how Stateway would not deliver. They were simply trying to steal a customer. How pathetic! Anyhow, my car arrived Friday afternoon right on time and in great shape. It was as if it arrived cleaner that it was when they picked it up. I was so happy with the service that I decided to share my experience with the rest of the world. Stateway is the perfect shipper.

They took my deposit of $165 in March 20 for car transportation scheduled on April 28. I tried to contact them more than 15 times with several approaches, email, and phone. I felt that the company is not a reliable one. I gave them a cancellation notice. Finally, I got a confirmation for this cancellation on April 15. They said the refund will be in 3-5 days. However, after 24 days, I still haven't received any money, neither in my credit card, nor by mail. I attempted through their website and e-mail, phone. Nobody picked up the phone, and there was no e-mail reply. Is that a real company, or just a scam?

Wow! I must have received about 20 emails in a 3 day time frame from Joanne at Stateway. I continuously told her to stop sending emails and she wouldn't listen. I am still receiving emails after multiple threats of contacting consumer affairs. I am now going to let everyone know about this company and their spam email methods of trying to gain business. Definitely, I didn't earn mine this way. They won't stop emailing me!

I contacted Stateway Auto Transport (salesperson Anna) to get two vehicles that I purchased at an auction to my home address. She said it would take a couple of days; since they are brokers, they find drivers. I agreed to pay them the amount they quoted me. Three days later, I called to ask about the status but nobody called me back. I sent them an email saying that I needed to know because the auction would start to charge me storage fees if I didn't pick them up already. On my email, I asked them to please call me back the next day (day 4) or I would have to cancel my transaction.
The next day, I had started to make arrangements with another transporter when she called me and said they just picked up one of my vehicles and were going to pick the other one up within 10 minutes. It was odd but I was very happy to hear that, so I called the new transport company to cancel the service. I waited for the driver or someone to call and tell me when they would be dropping the vehicles off, but found out that the vehicles were still sitting at the auction - and I had to start the process all over again. Since it was Friday, I was screwed until Monday - and knew that this would cost me additional storage fees. I couldn't believe she lied to me, and I feel even worse because I believed her. Shame on me!
