My father (Roy **) has had the Bay Alarm system for the last 3 months. When he woke up this morning the base unit was not functioning. I called Bay Alarm tech support and they did some troubleshooting with him, but came to the conclusion that the system was no longer operable and he would have to pay $200 for another unit. As a senior on a tight budget he didn't want to do this so he asked me to cancel his service. When I called to cancel I was told that he will have to pay $200 regardless if he cancels the service, if the Bay Alarm service techs can't fix it. This IS RIDICULOUS!!
The Bay Alarm website states "To cancel service ship equipment to the address provided. And once equipment is returned your account will be canceled and no further charges will be billed to your credit card." The "gotcha" is that they will bill the client $200 if the equipment isn't working. I have talked to 3 managers and they none would help. At this point I want nothing to do with this company and will never recommend it again.

Materials just arrived a couple days ago. The system was easy to set up, testing uncomplicated and questions answered promptly as we learned how to use it. So far, so good. I expect if Mom needs it, she will be in good hands.

My mother is at a different location than we originally anticipated she would be, so we wanted to make sure that all the current information was received by Bay Alarm and updated. We were very satisfied with the speed of the response and the response itself.

I am very pleased with Bay Alarm's customer service. Website information was clear and easy to navigate. My phone call was answered quickly and the rep. was efficient and friendly. Good service, very pleasant to deal with & very helpful when I called to find out what I needed to do to shut down the equipment. I was helped through the shut down to make it easier.. Only change I would like would be to get a rebate on the cost when stopping service for unused time of service with the every three months pay plan.

My mother fell down her basement steps on Sunday. She must have pressed her call button because you tried to contact her with no response. You then contacted everyone on the emergency list and then contacted emergency services in her area. We are very thankful for your quick response to the situation and want to THANK you.

We called to say that we could not get our system out of a loop. We were advised to move the modem to another room and they stayed on the phone the whole time to walk us through the process. We were successful.

Received an automated phone message in my voicemail concerning my mother's service. Called to find out if I needed to take any action. Setting up my mother's new system - this young lady was most helpful and most of all friendly and pleasant. I appreciate her help and understanding. The wording on your set up was a little unclear to me; however, she was very helpful in telling me exactly how to test the personal care button and its range in my mom's house.

I have canceled my Mom's account/alert only because I have moved her in with me. She lived by herself in Florida (I live in Chicago) and your alert actually saved her life! She woke at 3:00 a.m. to go to the bathroom and realized she couldn't stand up and was dizzy (we later found out she had a stroke). She was using a bedroom that didn't have a phone, so would have had no way of calling anyone. Thankfully she had your alert on, pressed the button, an ambulance came, retrieved her hidden key and took her to the hospital. She's recovering quickly, thanks to the quick attention. Thank you again, I recommend you highly to anyone who asks.

My problem was monitor not working properly. After telling my problem I was told how to make the proper changes and my monitor has worked fine since. That's very importance to me. We are so pleased with our Bay Alarm Medical unit. We have had to use it once and help was here at our home immediately. I can leave my husband for errands, etc. and know that he has the neck unit on him and can get help as needed. It has made our life much easier to deal with. I was totally satisfied with this medical alert system. Everyone was so helpful, pleasant and courteous. The response time was exceptional. The alert was used by both my mother and mother-in-law and was contacted several times for my mother and one critical time for my mother-in-law. It provided safety and support for both of them and provided some sanity for us!

Your staff answers the weekly test call promptly and with courtesy. We have not had the system long enough to have actually needed to use it for an emergency yet. One suggestion is to make your system compatible with the iPhone so if the person using it is within range of the master unit, the user could contact help through the Iphone.

I recently researched several medical alert button systems. Bay Alarm Medical was the first to respond and send me the written information I had asked for. Trisha ** followed up a few days later with a phone call. I found her to be very efficient, knowledgeable, and pleasant. We spoke several times and I decided to sign up with Bay Alarm Medical. It gives me peace of mind to know that I can get help quickly when and if I need it or my husband needs it. I would recommend this to a friend and have done so already. I have twice called Customer Service at Bay Alarm for help in setting up the medical alert equipment and the lock box. Both times the Customer Service reps were extremely helpful, courteous and patient. They didn't make me feel they were in a hurry to get rid of me off the phone. I would not hesitate to recommend Bay Alarm.

I purchased your plan for two elderly aunts. I just removed one from the plan (Irene **) who was sharing the box with my other aunt (Hazel **). Irene has moved into a senior facility that has its own alarm protection system included with their fee. So, I now just have your plan for my aunt Hazel **. Thank you so much for your service. GPS Mobile device - Rachelle was very helpful and informative. We talked about cost, promos, replacement if lost, coverage in two areas, Livermore and Copperopolis. We talked about if there was a necklace along with the belt carrier and yes there is. This is good news as my husband tends to lose things on his belt. We have been very happy with the system. It was extremely easy to setup and the times I have accidentally activated it the call center staff were amazing. Not only did they not make me feel silly for activating the alarm they made me feel very safe because of the steps they went through to ensure I was ok and not confused. I feel much safer now that I have this system.

Called in last Saturday to test my system. I told them I was only testing it. No chance to talk. I did not know whether they got the message so I called back and repeated it. Perhaps they misunderstood me but firemen came when not necessary. Talked to Julie at your office today and I wanted an explanation of how my system worked. She was very good and extremely helpful.

My pendant alarm was triggered twice within minutes of each other, done unintentionally. Mariah helped me through this problem with patience, courtesy, and informed knowledge. We developed a plan to avoid this from happening again. Later that day, she helped me change a number on my contact list with courtesy and efficiency.

Thank you. Even though my father refused to use the equipment. Having studied ratings and service reports I was very happy to choose your equipment. My father passed away very recently at home which was what he requested and along with other things your service allowed him to do that. Thank you for being a top rated company not just one that top advertises. I would suggest advertising your better record. People that are searching for help in these situations do not need fancy advertising. They need and desire true help and a record of service that backs what they are needing. I was truly astounded that even the facilities push "competitors" that when you research are at the bottom of consumer lists. My father was a stubborn man of the depression era. The fact he didn't use it was not anything to do with equipment or service. Just a man that thought men don't need help.
One suggestion. Find a way to create a device that is either connected to GPS necklace or is stand alone for older folks that are hearing impaired. He could not hear well the few times he accidentally set it off. Again not your fault. He could have picked it up to his ear. Dementia created his problems and stubbornness. That you cannot fix. Again thank you for the relief I did have as an only caregiver for him in his final years.

So yes, you were very nice to order our new button for my mother in law when she lost hers. And you promised it within 3-6 business days. That seems like an awfully long time, as we really couldnt leave her alone until it arrived. On the seventh business day I phoned to see where the button was, as it hadnt arrived yet. I was told the order was lost and it was never sent. After I complained, the representative called me back and said they would send it Priority which would take 2 -3 days. When I explained why I thought that was unacceptable and thought it should be sent overnight delivery, she said she would talk to a supervisor and see what could be done. After another phone call to say, "yes, it could be sent overnight", we now sit here, three days later and wait. Where is the button, and why is this so difficult? I am VERY frustrated.

Called in to give the code for new door locks on my mother's home. Changed the information for EMT's to enter the home if the doors are locked. On a previous incident emergency personnel were unable to locate the hidden key to get into the house.

I ordered Bay Alarm for my mother. It was easy to get it ordered, set up and pay on a monthly basis. I live in Illinois and my mother is a snow-bird (January - March) in Arizona. I was actually in Arizona when we set up the system and was positively impressed by written instructions and staff. I would definitely recommend Bay Alarm!

I had no trouble installing the alarm and when I did my first test, I was pleased since I wanted it to work in my yard as well as in my house. It worked fine. Very courteous and helpful when I spoke to them. When I tested it, I let the calls go to my contacts to make sure they received them. They did, so I am at peace.

On Mar 15, I took my Bay Alarm necklace to show my friend who is going through radiation treatment, the necklace was in my purse. I thought that I had to wear it around my neck for it to work. Well I found I didn't. You called, the restaurant was so noisy, I had to go out to hear the phone. By then you hung up, I dialed but got wrong number. But you were so efficient you sent police, firemen and ambulance. All this happened while I was showing my friend the Bay Alarm. So I am so very sorry, but now I know it really works!!! Thank you.

I had to change my phone number and was able to do it within fast and without any problems. Julie asked several questions to make sure all information is correct and changes the phone number. It would be nice to have account information online with recorded calls, alarms, checked connections similar to house alarm services.

I was able to test my unit in every room of my house. I feel much better now and can wear my necklace with confidence. I have not had confidence in my unit since I moved about eight months ago. I got stuck when I called the testing number 8 months ago and gave them my new contact information when I moved. They told me that I also had to call the customer service number "next week" and I just never got back to it. The more time that went by, the more stuck I got.

Jessica walked me through what should be there and when we figured out what was missing, she immediately ordered a priority shipment with the missing piece. She was great! My Mother, Marie **, passed away on 3/12/17. When I phoned Customer Service on 3/13/17 to close the account, the Customer Service Rep was polite and offered her condolences. She then transferred me to your Business Office. The Business Office Rep explained the procedure for returning the equipment and informed me that you must receive it by 3/16/17 to avoid any additional charges. However, when I explained that my Mother had died out of state and that we would not be able to return before the 16th, she rather coldly said that we would be charged for an additional month if received before 4/16. Up to this point, we have been very pleased with your service. However, if service is actually terminated as of 3/13, it seems to me that a little compassion and leeway on the equipment return date might a more appropriate business policy.

Excellent customer service. They have assisted me with everything I needed. Helped me hook up and test services. I had to add a home landline to activate fall services due to seizures but it was well worth it and not nearly as much trouble as I had anticipated.

My husband fell and tried to get up, but couldn't. Tried calling me but I couldn't hear him. I punched the button for him to get help when I found him down on the floor. The excuse I was given that the Fall Alert Pendant did not work was that he was still moving. Someone should have checked anyway to be sure a fall had not taken place. I was extremely disappointed and felt that the Fall Alert Pendant was useless and I was paying for nothing.

Our fall detection device is looking for a fall with a motionless period in case your husband passes out and cannot press his button. If he is conscious and moving, the device will deactivate seeing that he has not passed out, however, he is still able to press his button to get help. For some reason my credit card was rejected and my payment was late. After receiving your letter I called and had the person try again and it was accepted. I do not know why it was rejected the first time. I have had no problems using it. The person I talked with was very polite.

Customer service rep Rachelle ** could not have been better. Talked to her yesterday to ask questions and understand system. Called today to purchase. Rachelle was clear in voice, clear in explanation, patient with my questions some repeating what she had already answered, complete in the process and confident in her knowledge. The service seems ok, we haven't had to use it, thankfully, but upon testing there was a 1.5-2 min delay in answering from the dispatcher. The consumer-friendliness is poor. There is no way to put a hole/ freeze the service in case of an extended absence. The billing goes through quarterly, and once it is charge no prorated refunds are available. So I am currently wasting $100+.

I had switched my pendant to hang down my back. When I leaned back in my dining chair it press the button. When my phone rang (it was in the other room) I let it ring and go on the message center. I did not hear Bay Alert call as the call box is back in my bedroom. This was entirely my fault and I am very sorry. Everything was handled on your end way above expectation! Thanks so much.

I had purchased an annual membership from Bay Alarm Medical for my two elderly parents. My father passed away last year and my mother passed away recently. I wanted to alert anybody that is considering using this company that they should purchase the service on a month-to-month basis. Or better yet, shop around some more. The company does not rebate any portion if you purchased a year's worth of service and your loved one passes away without using up the full year. If this "company policy" sounds cheap they also want you to pay to return their equipment back to them. Not providing a shipping label to the customer keeps their prices competitive, according to their Customer Service. Sounds more like a cheap company that cares little about their clients. Cheap company policy = poor customer service.

We canceled our service in January 2017. Service was to be from January to December 2017. We received a notice that they would be charging us for the upcoming year. I immediately called the company and canceled the account. They said I needed to send back the equipment. I returned it a week after my call. They still charged me for the entire year for which they have the equipment and had told me they would issue a refund once the equipment was returned. They received the equipment on 1/25/17 and still charged my card on 1/28/17. They refuse to refund the amount even though they received the equipment before the charge.

The alarm works great when pressing the button or if you accidently set it down too hard. Has a long range so that is nice and every time I have tested the alarm, the call center employees are always polite. The one time my mother did fall and was wearing the alarm, outdoors, it did not work. Thankfully someone stopped to help her right away, however she was still on the ground for over 30 seconds.

You provided clarity when double checking my mom would never see a bill. You are easy to work with and have convenient, affordable, automatic billing and payment too. When testing our alarm you always are sweet and say hi to my mom and check to speak to her when I am verifying. That alone makes my large family more relieved. I know my mom sure is more comfortable with this very personal level of care when she is old, alone, newly widowed for a second time, and suffered greatly lying on the floor all night after breaking her femur/hip 6 long months ago. Purchased the fall-down alert package, with lock box, December 2016. Setup was easy and the initial test was successful. Early morning (4:25 AM) on 2/27/2017, I received a call from Bay Alert letting me know that my Aunt had fallen and that they had already dispatched medics via 911. I arrived at my aunt's home 15 minutes later and found that the medics had already addressed the fall and had her in the ambulance ready to transport to the hospital. The lock box was a great idea as the medics were able to open the box to get the house key rather than having to destroy the door to get in. My aunt is very hard of hearing, but was able to easily hear the Bay Alarm tech, even though the speaker unit was on the other side of her house. Everything worked perfectly!!

It is still new and we have tried it and they were very polite but it took longer than I expected actually. I guess I thought it would be immediate. Biggest thing is that it says 1000 ft so I thought it would work at the mailbox when in fact it only works about 100 ft. It is a trailer park so I guess that interferes.

I suppose the device has worked satisfactorily. I never had to use it, but one time I fell and the device failed to respond. (I was told that my fall was not fast enough and I did not remain on the floor.) So I have no real basis for comment on how well it has functioned.

The directions for use are very poorly written. Sections 1.2 and 1.4 leave much to be desired, re: the "power on" and "power off" bullets are exactly the same except for the 4th bullet. How do you know that a "power on" notice has been "sent" or a "Power off" notice has been sent??? How do you know the device is "on"? How can you "test" it? Re the email from you of January 8th where you acknowledge that the "GPS button can be a little challenging to distinguish if it is on or off".

I am very satisfied with the service of Bay Alarm Medical. My only concern is the little case for the GPS unit. As a man, I placed it on my belt and lost the device within hours. The clamp on the case doesn't work very well. I have tried putting it in my coat pocket, (it's winter in Wisconsin now), but even that can be a problem when I wear multiple coats. Remembering to switch the device from one coat to another can be a hassle. I wear a coat now, but in the summer time I will have to find another method. Perhaps a snap on the belt loop case would be a good fix.

I had called the other day and talked to a representative and he told me how to run the test. Unfortunately it never worked because the set up was wrong. Today I talked to Omory and she patiently brought me through the steps needed to set my alarm system up. Once my system was hooked up properly, I was able to run the test and that gave me peace of mind. The young lady Omary was excellent and very patient with me. I went to Walmart to shop for my weekly food, etc. on Jan. 21 and came home by taxi and as I was putting the groceries away I heard banging on my door to apartment and doorbell ringing. And I asked who it was. To my surprise it was the paramedics. They asked if I was OK. They had received a call I needed help. I was told they alerted my son. The only thing I could figure out is I may have pressed necklace as it was inside under the shirt I was wearing & I did not know I put pressure against the necklace and I was unaware. I was sorry I made them use their time but appreciate how kind they were. You are a very good company.

I am an EMT and have helped many people who have fallen and not been either get up or call for help and have laid on the floor for hours. My mother-in-law was 86 years old, living alone independently. She was able to care for herself, her house and yard with minimal help. She still was able to drive a car. I wanted her to have a medical alarm and did some research. I found Bay City rates the least expensive at the time, about 3 years ago. I have had to call them a couple times with minor problems or questions and found all the staff very courteous and helpful. If they detected a problem, such as low battery, they would call us.
Unfortunately my mother-in-law had a stroke and fell out of bed and could not get up. She pushed her button. The dispatcher not only called 911, but called several relatives. I cannot say enough good about this company. And although they would not refund me for the remainder of my contract, they would allow me to transfer the service to another person if I wished. I would encourage anyone with an elderly or disabled relative to consider getting a medical alarm and highly recommend Bay Medical Alarm.

I bought this as a gift for my mother. She decided she didn't want or need it and refused to wear the necklace. I missed the refund period by a week (14 days). They would not refund me my money. I had paid for 6 months in advance monitoring and they wouldn't even give back the unused portion. I now am paying for a system that sits in a box for 6 months. If you get the system only pay for a month to see if you like it first.

We had Bay Alarm Medical for 4 years, and it is an excellent medical alert system. The necklaces are lightweight and waterproof, and my Dad wore it all the time. The monitoring station answered immediately when the button was pushed (which it was more than once over the years.) This is a wonderful system. I highly recommend it. Customer Service is also excellent. We only canceled due to the death of my Dad.

It's difficult to understand the person who answers the help call. The fault seems to be in speaker quality. Operator was very helpful. The directions for setting up were difficult without help. Larger print would be helpful. My daughter had to explain about the phone line.

I just ordered a Bay Alarm Medical setup for my mother-in-law. It was a wonderful experience starting with my online research to determine what company we wanted to go with. The Bay Alarm Medical site was so much more effective and user-friendly than all of their competitors. Special kudos to the 1-5 minute video library that serves as an FAQ and covers just about any possible subject or question a potential client may have. This company is out to take your money. I have been with them for over 2 years. The main machine started to act up (beeping at random). We called the hotline. They didn't real know what to do. That goes on for a week so my mother said since she is moving in with my sister temporary why don't we just have it disconnect for now. She can re-activate it a year from now when she moves back home.
I called the service number to cancel the service. The rep told me that since I'm 20 days into my new plan, I need to pay the full year amount and send back the equipment. I asked them "shouldnt it be pro-rated?" The rep said no and she was rude. I asked to speak to her manager. The manager came on the phone and she said that is company policy and she can't do ANYTHING about it. I said "NOTHING? REALLY? NOTHING?!" I wish my boss would pay me for the entire year when I only worked for the first 20 days of the year. I think this is NON-Sense! Especially in today service oriented society. I can't believe this!
Yes. You know it. I have spread the words like wildfire to my community. This company is willing to lose not only my mom as a customer FOREVER but all my moms friends (my mother is one of the lead for a senior community club with over 200+ senior members) and of course all my sisters and my friends and coworkers for $250 dollars. I paid the last $250 dollars this company will ever get from me and my families. Bottom Line: Pick another company. BAY ALARM MEDICAL is out to get your $$!!!

Our experience with Bay Alarm has been first rate. We had ordered the product for my mother. Any time we had to deal with customer service for a question they were always helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Unfortunately, mom refused to wear the device and we are in the process of returning it but even during that interaction the representative was helpful. Would definitely recommend the company to someone else.

After reviewing websites and reading review about medical alarm companies, I settled on Bay Alarm for my mother. Over the course of a week, I called back a number of times to have questions answered and services confirmed. Every CSR was pleasant, knowledgeable, and did not try to sell me. They offered suggestions based on their experience and that was much appreciated. I became a customer and over the past 3 weeks as we got my mother set up, my questions were answered with the same friendliness and professionalism. My mother has already had a false alarm and mentioned that the person on the phone was very nice. It is a difficult situation when an elderly parent needs this help. Bay Alarm Medical helped the process for me and my mother.

Because the monitor is in my office in a pretty sound-proof apt., I have never been able to communicate with you that way. Once when I fell you called me after getting no voice response (good) and once you sent help but didn't call me after getting no voice response (I would have told you I didn't need it; I was up). And at least once the fall detector did not work and I called you.

My mother moved to a new address and I needed to update her address and new phone number information. I called this morning and received fast and prompt service. I did call last night after hours and updated Bay Alarm with the same information. The person I spoke to said I also needed to call again during standard working hours because you will only hold the information given after normal working hours for 30 days. When I called in today during regular hours, you told me you couldn't locate any record of the information I gave last night, so I had to start all over again. Thank You!

I purchased this system for my 92 yr old mother and I'm very pleased with it. It was so easy to set up and I was also pleased with the customer service rep that assisted me during installation. Now that my mom has the system I can go to work and not worry so much about her being alone or afraid of her falling and waiting on someone to find her.

My Mom had fallen and was unable to get up. She hit her head on the corner of the wall. Since she is on a blood thinner, she bled profusely. Her auto detect necklace saved her life! The doctors said that she would've bleed to death. Thank you Bay Alarm.

Contacted Bay Alarm in person since the office is just down the street from my work. We were having concerns with a two-year-old box. From the time I made contact with the company I have received nothing but the most caring help from the time I step into the office with multiple employees asking if I have been helped off. If I would like a glass of water your customer service is stellar. Keep up the great work. We did replace the unit and now works great.
