As you know there are millions of companies that offer elder-alert, or medi-alert, or whatever you choose to call it. Bay Alarm is wonderful. A professional, well trained staff, with a 'no pressure' and a 'contact us anytime' (attitude) with questions or concerns. I could not be happier in my choice of alert companies. I have no affiliation with this company. I just like it when an organization treats customers well and is well organized and professionally operated.

I'm extremely pleased with this company. The price is reasonable, the order process was easy, and the installation was very user friendly. I have accidently pushed the button twice. Both times the responses were immediate and the personnel very friendly and very understanding. I highly recommend Bay Alarm.

It is ridiculous that you can't just cancel the service when it's no longer needed. You actually have to send in the hardware with your own money before they'll cancel it. How much is this equipment really worth? If I just paid to keep it would they let me cancel then or are they still going to make me jump through hoops to stop getting a service I no longer want and have asked to discontinue? Where in the legalese did I miss that we don't own this hardware and that this is a rental? I wouldn't have bought this to begin with if I had known. I don't need the service anymore. I'm asking to cancel it. It is shady to make it so hard to cancel in order to milk more money out of me! I'm not even asking for a refund or prorate I just want to stop being charged in the future!

I have always felt secure since I ordered my Bay Alarm System. When I have tested it on occasion someone answers right away and makes sure that they are speaking with me. I also love having the key outside the door in case it is ever needed. I have had some small falls lately which made me realize this was the right thing to do, before I broke a bone.

Everything went smoothly and the only complaint would be to have more information at the very beginning of setting the system up. I landed up having to get my cable company involved but when all was said it went together just fine.

Did not clearly understand how to use my Mobile GPS System. Jasmine was wonderful in helping understand the instructions included. I didn't know when the power was on/off, Jasmine went through the way I could know when it was on/off & what the Power LED meant when I needed to charge battery & when the system was fully charged. She also explained the GSM LED meaning & how to understand the GPS LED. Jasmine was wonderful to me.

So far we have had only false alarms, but the Bay Medical staff have been exemplary in all respects. They have responded in a timely fashion with each alert and have always been easy to understand, patient, and pleasant to deal with. We had a range issue with the initial pendant and Bay Medical sent us a second one, at no charge, which worked as advertised.

Please let us know when you make connection with Verizon for our wireless unit. My Mother's unit does not connect all the time full time with AT&T wireless and does not have the landline anymore.

My granddaughter"s credit card was billed for full year of service and she paid it. I got new service through my SSC, so we no longer needed Bay Alarm. We sent the product back and still had 10 months left to use it. They would NOT refund her money for the remaining unused months.

As a physician I receive mailings and calls from the major names and the local drug store devices. We used this with a mother in law. She fell several times and we were immediately called. The service was prompt, and courteous. We were worried that the service would be compromised by the lower cost compared to the brand name. It was not. I have advised the social workers and my patients to consider this service. I chose not to take the credit offered to not appear to have any financial bias.

My mother in law fell, and Bay Alarm Medical promptly got the fire fighters at her home to help her get back up. I received a voice mail message right after they received the call from the alarm system around her neck stating she was not hurt.

I have received notification several times when my mother activated her alarm, always courteous and professional. What I feel lacking is a follow-up by someone after the paramedics leave the house with or without my mother. As I live more than three hours away from her house, it is not possible for me to check on her status. I wrote to the local fire chief about this but never got a response.

I bought an alarm for my elderly mother and put my contact information on the emergency information. Since then, I am receiving daily solicitation calls at my work, home, and cell phone numbers for Bay Medical Alert System and $1000 worth of coupons. When I press 1 to talk to a person to have them remove me from the call list, they hang up on me. If these calls continue, I will be canceling my mother's system and go to Life Alert. It bothers me that my personal information I put on my mom's medical info has been used for sales information.

My mother fell while taking the trash out hitting her head and unable to rise. She pressed her alert charm and was too far away from the base unit for the phone agents to hear her. They called the EMTs and then my sister and me. They took her to the hospital where she was checked out and later released. She is 89 years old and will turn 90 Christmas Day. We are so grateful that there are services like these to help when situations like this arise. I definitely recommend Bay Alarm Medical because there was an immediate response from this team, which helped in a faster recovery for our mother.

Bay Alarm is an awesome medical alert and both my parents and I have been extremely pleased with their service in every area. I live alone and have MS so it is very important for me to have a good medical alert in case of a fall, which is very likely with my condition. My parents also have Bay Alarm and are equally as happy with them.

I was given the job of finding a personal medical alert system for my nearly 96 year old mother who has lived alone ever since my Dad passed at 96 last December. I was to compile the information, present my findings to my 4 siblings, then a group decision was to be made on the right fit for our mom. Bay Alarm was the most forthcoming & buyer friendly company that I contacted. Tammy answered all of my questions during our multiple conversations, & she didn't call me & annoy me with a hard sell as some of the other companies did. It was a good experience, & I would highly recommend Bay Alarm in the future.

My mother has pressed her button by mistake on at least 4 occasions and the staff have been very, very kind each time. I was called once to check on her when she didn't respond and when I did she hadn't realized she pressed the button. Again, the staff was very kind to us and I appreciate them not sounding frustrated that my mother hits the button accidentally. I would recommend this service very highly.

We have had Bay Alarm Medical for a month and a half. During this time my mother has had three accidental activation of the service. Each time Bay Alarm Medical staff have responded in a courteous and professional manner. The staff understands that accidental activation happens, especially to elderly customers. We are very pleased with the response and service of Bay Medical Alarm.

Do not consider wasting your money with this company! They do not issue refunds if you lose your loved one, are unhappy with their service or find a better deal. You pay for the whole year even if you do not use it. Take a look at Great Call service. They are half the price and monitor your loved one wherever they travel. I tried to work with Bay Alarm but all they could say is "read the contract, we do not issue refunds."

I signed my parents up for this service in 2012. I chose the annual plan in an attempt to keep the costs down, not realizing I would not be given prior notice of renewal before my card was charged. When I called to cancel, I was informed they would not credit the unused portion of the year I had just been charged for and the cancellation would not be confirmed until the equipment was RECEIVED back -- in other words, I'd be paying for a year without using it at since time (which I had already done in the previous year --- my parent never used the service. I did not ship it back at that time since I had already been charged for the year with no opportunity to be refunded any portion of the annual fee). I did receive a notice in the mail this time that the renewal would be charged to my card. (It did not provide ANY information on cancellation procedures). I emailed and faxed my written notice today that I was canceling and that my credit card should not be charged, and they called to say it could not be cancelled until the equipment was received back, so I am AGAIN caught in the same trap.
I am contacting my credit card company to let them know I will be refuting this charge. Based on this policy, there is NO WAY to get the full service you pay for because they require you to ship the equipment back BEFORE they will cancel. I am completely furious. I will NEVER do business with this company again.

Shocked and saddened from a former customer: WOW! I thought Bay Alarm was a family company with a good service reputation. THEY ARE NOT! STOP and think before you help your elderly family members with payments! They will take you to collection without you knowing it if your credit card is on file! And when you call customer service, you will get the worst service experience of your LIFE! First: I am SERIOUSLY angry and upset; however I am not the kind of person who has the time or desire to make complaints like this one. My family income approaches mid 6 figures and I am a 42 year old professional and VERY busy. However, after the experience(s) I just had, I must make public my complaints of the sad truth about Bay Alarm Medical. Below is a long but condensed version of the absolutely horrific experience I had with their customer team. (Never in my 42 years have I been subject to such unprofessionalism.)
I was advised by friends to call because they have had positive experiences when dealing with companies that serve elderly people (like my 86 year old grandmother!). This story does not properly capture the shock, disappointment, and anger that were in the experience I had with this company. I was a long time customer of Bay Alarm when my Grandmother came to live with me for an extended stay due to the forest fires where she resides. During those 3 or 4 months I purchased (in her name) a Bay Alarm Medical system and pre-paid for 1 year. I remember stating that this is for 1 year only and we will renew if we choose. There were compatibility issues with the equipment due to internet phone service. When tested it worked about 50% of the time. Due to my busy schedule I let it go because I was just happy with her feeling comfortable. 4 months (give or take) passed and she went back home in the mountains with her caregiver. Sometime later I inquired how the system worked up there (Nor Cal) and I was informed that it did not connect to the service. I advised to call or something but truthfully did not care because she had help and I had already paid a whole year (Basically I figured I was out the remaining money. Which I was OK with as it was not much given my resources.) I guess a year went by and I started receiving Bay Medical Bills which my assistant forwarded to my Grandmother.
Last week I applied for a large personal loan and when the answer came back they said everything was good except my credit score was bad due to collections and they could not process the loan. I went to check my credit report and Bay Alarm Medical has me in collections for paltry $400! No call from ANY collection agency. No knowledge I'm in collection and as far as I know IT'S NOT EVEN MY ACCOUNT! I just gifted the bill for one year. (I still was an alarm customer well after this was sent to collection and had a perfect payment history!!! I smell lawyer in the near future!)
Here is where it gets good! I just finished a series of calls with the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I called Bay Medical customer service and politely informed the girl of my situation and how my loan is partly held up by this. I asked her how I can get this off my credit report ASAP? (I was planning to pay the money even if I wasn't responsible.) She said please hold and transferred me to Dominique (the WORST customer service manager EVER! And rude too.) When she said, "How can I help you?" I asked her if she knew my situation and she said no. I then repeated everything I had said earlier. She asked me to hold and said she would research it and come right back. The next thing I know I'm hearing the answering machine of a collections company. (If she would have been respectful enough to just tell me she had to transfer me then I would have accepted that.) I hung up and called back. I asked to speak to her again (I was cut off). The rep said," I can't transfer you right away, is this something I can help you with?" I asked if it's customer service policy to tell a customer they will be right back and then transfer to an outside company.
I was so shocked I have some of the next details a bit jumbled but it went something like this. Rep: "If you open your letters and pay your bills then you would not have this." I then started to tell her the situation and to my surprise she said" well, I don't know your situation." I remember feeling surprised that she had just lectured me about opening mail like she knew the scenario, but did not. I asked her SEVERAL times who Dominique's supervisor was and she refused to answer and refused to transfer me and stated on multiple times that Dominique is the supervisor. I stated many times "you're telling me you will not give me her supervisors name, her last name and you're completely preventing me from further communicating." The phone went dead .I said, "wow, you hung up on me. Unbelievable, in all my years." etc, etc. As I went to hang up the phone d/t no answer I said one more time, "you're not there anymore?" At the last second she said rudely, "Yes I'm here." I then asked her name and she refused to give it to me. I asked her why she was refusing to tell me her first name and she said, "I told you at the beginning."
This childlike games went on for a bit and finally she said her name was Savana. No last name and no title. I asked how I was to reference her with only a first name (Remember she said they do not give their last names), without her work title. She still refused. I stated my work title and said "so you know mine and I can't know yours?" (At this point Yes, I was angry for a long time now.) Next thing I hear is the line being transferred. It was Dominique (supervisor) again. I asked her what their customer service policy about transferring calls and she starting telling me how she cannot talk about my bill because it is in collections. I informed her I was not asking about my bill (Actually my grandmother's bill on my credit report from a credit company that does not contact anyone?) I can keep going but sufficient to say that she too, continued to play childlike games and REFUSED to tell me her supervisor, policy, whose name is on the account (stated its my responsibility etc.), and any other information.
FINALLY, I got her to tell me the phone number of the corporate administration offices. I thanked her and called the number she gave me 1-877-522-9633. I almost laughed when it answered to reveal that she had just given me another number to the same place I already was talking to. I looked on the internet and found a number with a polite friendly customer service person that heard my situation, informed me that Dominique had provided me with the medical emergency line, and then found me a number locally. (FYI: The local person was also polite and I'm currently waiting to get a call back with a number to Dominique's supervisor or other.)
Result: I was going to pay whomever (no matter if I was responsible for the bill or not). Now, if this is not fixed ASAP, I will check the law, if necessary consult a lawyer. I will file a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. I will use my First Amendment rights (I am a member of the ACLU) and express my opinion of this company's customer service and practices to every social media outlet on the planet (BBB, Yelp, Google Reviews, Facebook, Security websites, local TV media sites etc. etc.) I will call the local News station investigative reporter, and anyone else that will listen. AND MOST of all: I will tell every one of the 18,000++ Registered Nurses that I represent to tell every patient and family that asks about medical safety, my story and to NOT recommend Bay Alarm Medical! You can check the letterhead of the California Nurses Association (Representing 200,000 RNs across America) and you will find me in the picture. If Bay Alarm can treat me, a professional Registered Nurse and paid professional Patient Advocate (recognized in person by President Obama), then I FEAR how they treat our elderly.
I suspect possible verbal elder abuse and possible predatory business practices may be happening. As I am a mandated reporter I will be filing a complaint and request for investigation with the California Attorney Generals Bureau of Fraud and Elder Abuse. Based on my experience I can only assume our elders are at risk. (This letter and all its contents are personal and do not represent the opinions or views of my employers.)

12/15/2014 - BEWARE. They are liars and crooks. I called in to gather information about the medical alarm system. I spoke with a rep by the name of Kayla ** who also sent me a brochure. She quoted me a price which she stated would include a lockbox, 2 buttons, vial life, warranty and shipping. I told her I would think it over more and call back. She kept asking could she call me instead and kept pushing the issue about placing an order. Again I told her I would call back. Geez, I didn't like the pushy sales one bit. She asked a ton of question I found to be a waste of time. Didn't really give me a chance to talk.
After doing more research I found out the price she quoted me included hidden fees that she didn't go over with me. The price I was quoted by another rep at Bay as well as online didn't add up to what Kayla said. I found that kind of odd - the other rep stated that all the other things were not required such as the additional button, lockbox, vial life when Kayla told me it was. So beware that this company will lie and try to add additional cost to your initial start up cost for things you don't need.
I also found out that Bay has not been in business for 68 years - only 7. The equipment is not new. It's leased. Bay doesn't monitor the alarms. A third party company does. The operators are not medial certified as I was told. There is no refund given if death after 14 days - ridiculous, equipment fee of $200. Credit card only for automatic billing - I didn't like that. Read that other customers had a hard time cancelling and getting refunds. I will not be going with Bay because I was lied to. I will be sure to tell my family and friends and other reviews sites.

I have not had to use it in time of emergency. Have tested it a couple of times. Satisfactory response both times Personnel seem to be very courteous and helpful. Much better than other one we tried. Their response time left a lot to be desired.

I accidentally pushed my button once, then once my great grandson hit the HELP button, the response was fast. Both times were not emergencies. The operator made sure everything was OK by asking very direct questions before hanging up.

While Bay Alarm Medical is slightly less expensive monthly than their competitors, they do not prorate anything back once your annual fee is automatically renewed without your prior consent. When I complained about this in an email and two phone calls, I was ignored, and actually treated with a bit of arrogance and disdain by customer service. I posted same on a Yelp review in November and was immediately contacted with an apology and a promise to refund my annual fee in return for removing my review. I returned the equipment 6 weeks ago and have received no contact and no refund from this company. Again, I feel deliberately misled by this company. It is far worth a few bucks more a month to work with a reputable company that doesn't deliberately bilk its customers.

I recently set up this system with my mom. Everyone I have dealt with has been very helpful. It was easy to set up. My mom feels comfortable with the system as well. Recently, she fell and they not only called me immediately but notified everyone on our list to make sure we were aware. The paramedics were there in minutes. The cost is reasonable but their staff is even better. I would highly recommend them.

My sister Wanda was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma earlier this year. She started radiation treatments and became dehydrated. She fell around midnight with a Correlle dish in her hand which shattered into a million of shards of glass. Unable to get herself up, she had to pull herself through it to get to a phone. It took me 20 minutes to get there. The next day we ordered your product. It was easily installed. All of us feel better knowing help is just a button away!

I have an 88 year old active fashion conscience mother. She has had a minor stroke and has fallen several times. I have talked to her about your service and she complains that the pendant and wristband are "horrid". Having seen them, I have to agree. I would be happy to pay a little extra for something that is not so medicinally obvious and a little more stylish. Perhaps some fake gold coatings. Come on guys help me out here.

Many of our customers take the wristband button to their jeweler to have the band replaced with a watch band or a silver clasp-style bracelet.

My mother passed in January of this year, 90 years old. She meant the world to my father and he lost 48 lbs in the next few weeks and was getting very weak. I live 65 miles away and insisted he get a med alert. I did my homework and this company seemed to be the best of the bunch. They are! Two weeks ago while at work I got a call from a very professional English speaking lady. My father had fallen and the Life squad had been called and were on their way. I had installed the house key lock box near the front door which they used for entry. His blood pressure had dropped to critical condition but he held onto consciousness long enough to press the button. The doctors told us he was very critical and said he would not have made it if he was not hospitalized immediately. I highly recommend this company who went way past my expectations. They are very fast and compassionate with their customers. They saved my father's life! Thank You.

Take the time to ask them for a copy of their Terms prior to doing business with this company - you'll go elsewhere if you do. The way that I read the fine print, they ask you to sign an agreement that basically says that you will not hold them liable if they are negligent in their duties and your loved one suffers harm or worse. Also, try to call and cancel your service if you don't like it - they'll make it as hard as possible and bilk you for as much cash as they can. This is a bad company to do business with!!

One week into a one year account my wife's mother no longer needed their service. They ABSOLUTELY refuse to refund ANY amount for services that she does not need and they will not be providing. Utterly FALSE ADVERTISING when they say that you can cancel any time without a "cancellation fee." No, they do not charge a "fee," they just keep ALL of your money. We will be filing a lawsuit and charges against this company. Buyer beware.

So far happy with the product. Did a actual test and it worked great. Response was very quick - only the mic did not work so called helpline and got instructions to activate mic. Only problem I had was when I ordered product, one part was missing from the order - the necklace. Called and they shipped. So from original order date until actual usage date was 30 days so I asked for a credit and did receive credit.

My phone is connected to Comcast thru their system so when the internet goes out so does the phone. It is a little "scary" when your phone service goes out also. Is there a back-up system that can take over? Do you ever call to check on me or the system?

There isn't a backup phone system, so if your phone line isn't working we won't be able to call you on the base unit. However, we do conduct silent tests on your system each week to make sure everything is working correctly. Should we see that there is a problem with the phone line during our test, our dispatchers will try to get ahold of you and go down your emergency contact list (if we can't get through) immediately to check and make sure that everything is ok.

I purchased an alarm system for my Mother, Eugenia ** who lives in Winston-Salem, NC. She has trouble at first because the necklace was too long and she kept setting it off. She was grateful, but slightly embarrassed when the police showed up. I thought it was a great thing she was being looked after. I told her to have a neighbor tie the cord up so it was shorter, and that worked. She ordered the bracelet just in case, but she hasn't worn it. She's not good with "new things". My mom did call your company once on her own, and said the lady wasn't very patient with her. But that could just be her, and her lack of hearing and confusion. All my conversations with your company have been wonderful. Thanks for providing this much needed service!

I've had my alarm bracelet for almost two months. I feel confident because I know Bay Alarm is there if I need them. I like the fact that I can check the alarm once a month to know that it is working. One of the major concerns I had was that I would keep setting off the alarm, but the design is wonderful and I have not had any problem with inadvertently setting it off!

Thankfully, I have not yet had to use the device for an actual emergency. They do recommend monthly tests, and of course I tried it out a couple of times in the first few days. The customer service people are very friendly and helpful. The device works anywhere that I can receive cellular service. The only reason I didn't give it more stars is because when I push the button, there is a long delay before I hear ringing. Then, it typically rings anywhere from 8-12 times before the call is answered. Since this is a service that I would want to count on in a true emergency, I would think they would staff their call centers for first ring response. I have never failed to get through, but I can imagine that if the adrenalin were high and I were really in panic mode, the time it takes to reach a human after I push the button would seem very long.

Since ordering your product, I have been inundated with unsolicited phone calls from various sources of medical alert products. Apparently you people have a very poor policy regarding customer confidentiality.

I needed two medical system for my parents & decided on Bay Alarm because of all the reviews I read. They live 2000 miles away & needed something easy for them to use. Bay Alarm was very helpful with all my questions & the system was easy to set up. My Mom fell in late May. In the past she had been very resistant to any pendant product. After the fall, she was willing to research the different companies. I reviewed many online and decided to give Bay Alarm a chance. Thankfully, we have not had a reason to use the wristband (her choice of alarm product-- I wear a fitbit), so maybe it made it not so "old." She is a very young 91YO. Our interactions with your company was getting it set up and then the monthly testing. People have been so kind (it's hard for her to hear over the phone sometimes) and helpful. So far, so good!

In the past few weeks, my parents' system has malfunctioned twice and sent alarms to your call center! Not only did they call them, my sisters, and myself, they also had the paramedics dispatched both times to their house! There is nothing worse than getting a phone call in the middle of the night saying something is wrong with a parent. It is even worse when it was a FALSE ALARM! I don't know what you can do to prevent this kind of thing happening, but I do: we are cancelling our service with your company and we will never recommend this kind of technology to anyone!!!

After having an initial dispute with the company, Bay Alarm contacted me and offered to resolve the dispute in a fair and satisfactory manner. I must give the company credit. So many companies provide only lip service to customer concerns, but Bay Alarm appears to be committed to true customer satisfaction. I would also like to add that the quality of the service provided by Bay Alarm was never in question.

We bought services for my wife's mother and everything was fine. We chose to pay service in advance for a year. However, after a couple of months, my mother-in-law had to move to New Jersey for medical reasons. In New Jersey, the service was not needed, so we returned the equipment in good condition and requested a refund for the remainder of the year. We were denied. I don't understand why a company would want to charge for services they weren't providing. This is unethical to me and would never recommend anyone use this service.

I choose By Medical Alert for my mother after a close friend recommended them. The process was easy. The alarm and information arrived immediately. Set up was easy and "testing" with the company was reassuring. Very straightforward and organized! Fees are low and the peace of mind has been wonderful! I would highly recommend this company! Recently spoke with an elderly woman who stated (for ALL medical alarms) the plastic piece in a cord was "unattractive" and should look like a "piece of jewelry " ... Just a thought! Some women are very conscious of appearance!

So far, thankfully I haven't had to call for an emergency, but I have accidentally set the neck button off by carrying something and not realizing I did it. Another time, dropped something on the "help button". The people were so nice when I did this, telling me it happened all the time but I felt horrible about it. Think I'll tie a big ribbon on the neck piece. Thank you for being so understanding.

From the very beginning of searching for a service for our mother, Veldonna **, such as yours, we were very pleased with the information and respect given to us by your staff. Once we subscribed and got the system up and running, again the staff responses to her needs were very professional and they were very respectful and helpful to us her family members following each call. The ONLY reason we decided to cancel your services was because she has moved into an assisted living center who has their own in-house service provider. Although emergency services in our area are very good and fast, they just could not compete with the speed at which the 24-hour staff could respond. Bay could do better to explain how the number that they will call for help works. Living in the country near several communities, I was concerned about the right number being called in case of an emergency and was told that Bay already knew the correct number and I didn't need to worry. Bay probably was right, but this "trust me" and "we don't need to explain" attitude didn't sit well with me and caused unneeded frustration.

I researched the various "life alert" programs and was impressed with the Bay Alarm system. It was the best system financially, safety-wise, etc. When I received it and set it up, it was very easy to do. I tested the system as instructed and it worked quickly. A few days later, our cat was sitting on my lap kneading and accidentally pushed the button on the device I wear around my neck. It worked! Lol, they were gracious when I explained it was an accidental call. But the system does work and I feel so much safer to have it available.

I have had my device for about two months. I love how easy it was to set up and when I went to stay with a friend how easy it was to get it setup in their home. When I came back home it was a slam dunk setting it back up in our home. If you set the alarm off by mistake or are just testing the prompt response of the customer service rep is great. They are very professional.

On August 21, 2014 this area had a thunder storm with lightning. It was around 2 a.m. The alarm went off. I am sure I did nothing to set it off. Could the storm have been the reason?

I bought this device for my dad. He didn't use it. I called to cancel the service. Bay Medical said they needed the device back or there would be a $200 charge. I mailed the device back in full working order on 7/14/2014 with $50.00 insurance on the package. Estimated time of arrival 7/17/2014. They claim to have inspected the device on 7/23/2014. Now I JUST received a letter on 09/01/2014 stating that the device is damaged. Really? After being in YOUR company's hands for TWO months? This is unfair, unethical and a dishonest business practice at its finest!

My children ordered this for me after I became very ill and returned from the hospital. Even though I have not had to use it, it has given me a security that I haven't felt since my husband passed away 12 years ago. My daughter tested it when I first got it a few months ago, and the range impressed us all. It makes me feel as if I have someone in the home with me protecting me. I would recommend it highly.

Bay Alarm Medical charged services to an expired credit card and it was not authorized. I canceled this service but your representative never sent me the paperwork to sign to cancel (she said I would receive it in the mail but it never came). You then charged my credit card which was expired and when I called the rep they refused a refund and said that is standard practice and you have a computer that runs the credit card numbers so it keeps entering numbers until it figures out the new expiration date on my credit card. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and you will hear from them soon. This company is a fraud and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone! Poor customer service to say the very least!

This is a product that provides great comfort to me and my siblings. Our Mom is also more confident knowing she has easy access to emergency services literally at her fingertips. I purchased the alarm system for my elderly parents who live an hour away from me and my siblings. After my mother's second stroke we, hired a then aide to be with them 24-7 days a week. My father is 83 and wheelchair bound. My mother can not walk on her own and has dementia from two strokes in the last year. When I attempted to cancel the service, I was told they will continue to bill me until my parents send back the equipment. I advised they can not and it will be some time before I can send the equipment back.
They have indeed billed me, which I will not pay for, and they are now calling my parents on their emergency contact phone in order to get their equipment back. My parents called me in a panic from being threatened by the customer service/collections person. They are not listed as being responsible for this financially in any way. It is simple harassment in order to get me to pay for services I had cancelled months ago. We will try to get the equipment from them and send it back...but the harassment of my elderly parents can not go on without notice.

All three times the individual who responded was amazing, did not make me feel like a silly old woman, but said "this is no problem Mrs. **, it happens because the button is extremely sensitive". I have had my alarm for a very short time. The hook up could not have been easier. The other day I wore my pendant in the pool without realizing it. Bay Medical Alarm quickly and promptly contacted me in response to my dissatisfaction. They offered to partially refund my mothers deposit which is what I/she wanted. Thank you for quickly taking care of this matter. I would of answered sooner but my mothers health isn't doing so well right now and I was taking care of her. I am sorry for the delay in my response. Bay Medical Alarm service is a good service for seniors or anyone who is needing that special assistance.

The actual service for the elderly or handicap is great. They always spoke w/my mother in a kind, friendly manner when she pressed the call button, even accidentally. I'm dissatisfied because of 2 things. I purchased the program online and never spoke w/ a CSR (my mistake) and all I was concerned about was getting help for my mother, so I didn't fully read the agreement about no refunds after 14 days. I also assumed (NEVER ASSUME) that they would have good business practices and at least work w/ the customer. I was wrong. When I returned the base and call button I called them and let them know because you have to and NEVER at that time did the CSR state no refund and I never asked because again I assumed they would.
After a few months I noticed no activity or refund so I called. Again the CSRs are very friendly & when she couldn't help me I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor just kept repeating if you would have read the agreement you would know we don't issue refunds after 14 days. I admit I got a little upset and stated that Bay Alarm was taking money from the elderly but I never screamed. I just got upset and at the end said "Thank you for not helping" and "I will post something on your Facebook page." I never bashed your company on Facebook, in fact I stated it's a good service. I just stated that I wanted other consumers to be aware that they need to read their agreement and make sure they understand there is no refund even after paying for the year in FULL! Your company then took my post down and blocked me from posting anything. Again, I NEVER bashed your company. It's a good service. I just wanted to make sure people were aware of your policy.

The hardware was easy to install and setup. I was amazed at the quality of the alarm box. The microphone sensitivity was fantastic. During every monthly test the representative was able to hear my voice from anywhere in my home even when I spoke softly.

I very much dislike the bracelet. It is a pain to take off and put on again. Most of the time it rotates the call button under my wrist where it causes false alarms. Your people are always gracious in checking on me but I need a better bracelet. Thanks.

After I received the system, I tested it and within seconds someone picked up the call. He was very friendly and explained how to test it from various places in the house and outside. He also told me how to cancel the call without sending it to the call center. So far, I have not had to use it for an emergency, but I feel safer having the system.

After researching several similar companies, I selected Bay Alarm Medical for my elderly mother who lives alone. I was particularly impressed with their customer service, and the fact that their call center is in the United States. There are many similar companies with comparable technology (although BAL offers superior range @ 1000 feet), but what really tipped the scales for me was their friendly and helpful service, which I consider to be a very important factor in choosing those to help Mother should the need arise. When I installed the system and tested it for my mother, they responded immediately, and were very thorough, friendly and really seemed to care. I am very happy with my choice so far, and feel more at ease that they are there to help my Mom if need be.

We have been a customer since July 2013. We were happy with the service. Bay Medical supplied a much needed service for my mom, but currently, they no longer meet her needs and we need to terminate our contract. They say there is no charge to cancel BUT read the fine print. We signed up for the annual plan July 2013. In July 2014, we were charged for another full year. We attempted to cancel immediately upon seeing the charge and get a refund but were told they do not give refunds. This was only 3 days after we were charged for 2014. They are not willing to compromise or discuss any type of refund. This is robbery. I cannot recommend this company because of this. This is unethical business conduct.

It was not disclosed at purchase that the device work ONLY outside, and another device is needed for the inside. I would not make a purchase if I knew about it. I was promised a Russian Speaking assistant when I call for help. Instead, the English speaking operator picks up the line, and only after confirming that I need a Russian speaking operator, they start looking for one. Again, if I knew it at the time of purchase, I would not buy it. The sound is very low, almost impossible to hear an operator while you are outside on the street.

I have experienced two difficulties with my equipment. First, the bracelet is difficult to put on with my arthritic hands; perhaps an easier clasp could be found. Second, while wearing my necklace and working in the kitchen, when I bent over to get a pan, the alarm was activated. Now I just place the necklace on the kitchen counter when I am working there--not the best situation but better than setting off the alarm again.

My mother sustained a significant fall last month & she used the alarm system for the first time. Their response was immediate & the ambulance came within 15 minutes of the call. I could not attach the Medical Alert equipment to the telephone plug/box, which only allows for two attachments, because I already have other equipment attached there that enables daily automatic updates to her doctor re: changes in weight. I think you should have anticipated this. Please advise how I can return the equipment.

I purchased this alarm system for my mom so she would feel safe at home when I am not there during the day. The people are friendly and helpful any time I have spoken to them. The system works really easily. And the price is reasonable.

My Mother was having trouble with her phone connection, the Verizon repairmen had to test the line several times, calling Bay three or more times in the frustrating process. The receptionists were falteringly patient and understanding that this is one of the odd instances when there will be multiple non emergency connections. Kudos!

Although I have not had to use this, I feel more secure. Setting up the system was very simple and the customer service I received to test the unit was excellent. Felt assured there is someone there for me should I press the button.

I haven't needed help so far, but have occasionally activated the button by mistake. Each time there has been a response on the receiver and when I have been too far away to answer that I have received a call on the phone.

Pleased with the service to date. Unfortunately, I did not print the attachments when I got the initial e-mail. I assumed my Mother could sign and return them when they arrived. When she received them, the print was too small for her. This confused, frustrated and upset her. She refused to proceed until I could visit and read, weeks later. The test went great. The staff answered promptly and pleasantly. No other concerns.

My alarm system was compromised by a cell phone call which rang on my device. Had repeat calls (3) that afternoon. Could not get any response from Bay Alarm folks. They sent the alarm to the local ambulance service and called my daughter. The firemen helped me get this snafu all straightened out. It has been working fine since that one glitch. I wish that your company would sell nice looking lanyards so that ribbon that came with the device could be replaced.

Ordering was fast and easy, with no troubles at all. No hidden costs or fine print surprises. Installation took less than a minute and when activated the operators were fast to respond and very polite. My cord could be too long causing inadvertent activation of the alarm in my daily activities. Problem with a shorter cord, it wouldn't be removable for sleeping as I don't like anything around my neck when I am sleeping. Also I did fall once and the alarm didn't activate. This was the primary reason for my son to get this system for me.

I am primary caregiver for my father Thomas **. When he unknowingly turned the power off to his base unit I was contacted to let me know. Once I got to my dad's house I called the number instructed to call to troubleshoot the issue and it was resolved quickly. I was impressed with the quick response to call me and also to assist me in correcting the issue.

After researching the market, I chose the Bay Alarm system for my mother. The set up was really simple. As yet, knock on wood, she hasn't had to activate it for help. My sister, brother, and I all feel much better knowing she can get help if she needs it.

My mother fell last week, and doesn't have the strength to get up on her own. My sister and brother-in-law were at work, and I don't even live in the area. An ambulance was called, but the paramedic wasn't needed. It is a relief to know that if there had been an emergency, that Mom would have had a quick response. I feel better knowing that even though she is alone, somebody is there for her. Thank you for your prompt response.

From the beginning of ordering Bay Alarm Medical for my security, I found it a very pleasant experience. It was very easy to set up, thank goodness. My only problem is that I accidentally bumped the button several times and immediately the voice came on and asked me if I was okay. I told them I was fine and very sorry for bothering them. They very politely informed me that this was a common occurrence. How is that for making you feel secure?

Everyone has been very nice when I test my 3 units. The only thing I am concerned about is when I went to my bathroom and closed the door and pressed the "button" for help in a test, you could not hear me even if I was talking loud. When I open the door in the bathroom, you could hear me. The next month when I did the same test with the bathroom door open, you could not hear me the first time, but you could here me the second time I said "can you hear me?", then they said "yes I can hear you". So does the unit you gave me sometimes change in picking up sound? How come the unit cannot hear me with a door closed? The other company claims they can hear even if a door is closed.

I am not happy with the method of fastening the wrist band. I have had the plastic locking piece catch on different things and allow the band to open and fall my wrist. Do you have any other way of locking the strap?

Overall our experience has been good although we have not needed to use the system yet. However when we first became a customer we felt the sound quality of the base unit was rather poor. It does help if the customer service rep talks not too loud and slowly because my Mom is hard of hearing.

I've only been with Bay Alarm for a couple of months, but so far I am very pleased. When I had a question about testing, I got a friendly and knowledgeable man who called and walked me through it. When I have tested, the people who answer the call are nice and are very caring which I appreciate. Plus, the price is reasonable.

I did not order bracelet ($34) & never used it. Tried to return it but was told "NO" since it was over 30 days, which arrived while in the hospital. There is no customer service or help for a helpless senior citizen. It's all about the money!!

I have not had any problems with Bay Alarm. The only thing I don't like is your system cannot go into test mode and you have to press your button and get an answer from a call center operator.

I received a telephone call from Bay Alarm due to the post I had written regarding my dissatisfaction with a company policy of theirs. I was told that the management team had reviewed my situation and had decided to issue a refund for the unused months of service. Purchased the medical alarm for my mom on March 19, 2014 after she had a fall. I paid for a year in advance as it was the best deal. Shortly thereafter, my mother was in an out of the hospital and rehab. We now have to place her in long-term care so I returned the unit on May 20, 2014. I called today, July 1, 2014 to request a refund for the unused months and was told there were no refunds after 14 day trial period. BUT, if I would have paid on a month to month basis, I would have wound up spending less! Poor company policy. Purchase on a month to month if need be just in case something happens to your loved one and the product is no longer needed.

Prompt and helpful service. We had trouble setting up the lock box and accidentally caused the lock box to not work. We had no idea what the code was. You sent a preset lock box with the code we chose and we returned the one that we could not make work. That was greatly appreciated.

We recently ordered Bay Alarm Medical after my Mother-In-Law had a minor stroke. It gives her peace of mind knowing help is a button push away when no one is home. Set up was a breeze and testing the unit was just as simple. The service reps that answer the unit were friendly and professional. I bought the system for my 85 year-old stepfather who lives alone. The shipping was very quick and the packaging was excellent. The directions for set-up were simple and clear. The base unit is easy for him to see and operate with the large "Help" button and clear-sounding speaker. He has accidentally triggered the alarm without knowing, when carrying a laundry basket, and the response from Bay Alarm was immediate. Since he was outside he didn't hear the response from the base unit asking him if he was ok. He was surprised to see the ambulance in his driveway, but was very reassured by the obvious quick response to what might someday be a real need.
The Bay Alarm folks are obviously trained to communicate with knowledge and patience with elderly people. They understand that our older people aren't all necessarily tech-savvy. I feel very secure knowing there is someone there for my stepfather should he need help when he's alone.

A number of medical alarm companies were reviewed before making my decision. Bay Alarm Medical was chosen because of the positive reviews and the range of the transmitters exceeded most other brands. I wasn't paying for a lot of advertising and bells and whistles that were unnecessary. Setting up the alarm was easy and customer service is exceptional.
