We've only had this a short time, but I know it gives me a peace of mind to know that there is someone there in case of an emergency. The range is excellent for what we needed for. They have great customer service and I would recommend this company to anyone that needs this type of service.

My family and I are much more comfortable knowing I have the medical alarm in the event I need medical help and no one is at home. Luckily we have not needed it for an emergency as of yet. Your staff is always courteous and helpful and the ease of setting up the system and testing is very simple. Thank you for being there when I need assistance.

Wow, ** worked with me and resolved an issue on your warranty coverage as it is very confusing as shown on your Service Agreement. Then we worked through testing of all my new agreement. In each and every test of the Main Unit, the pendant and the GPS she stayed with me on my cell phone and assisted me with the process. Once again your people are demonstrating that I made the right decision to go with Bay Alarm Medical.

** in Accounting worked with me to resolve an incorrect Quarterly Charge that turned out to be an error with the AAA discount. Her persistent to get to the root cause of the problem was outstanding. She did not give up until she resolved and emailed me the correct Agreement. If her commitment to service and customer satisfaction is an indicator of what I can expect in the future, My decision to go with Bay Alarm Medical was truly the correct decision.

Updated on 08/02/2015: My experiences, from the initial contact through the installation of the Bay Alarm Medical Alert System, have been pleasant and positive. The equipment arrived when expected; the packaging was easy to open and install. What a surprise! I was equally impressed to find that Bay Medical immediately recognized who I was when I called the first time for a "test run" of the equipment and my installation. To the person, everyone at Bay Medical has been professional, helpful and courteous. I couldn't be more pleased.

My children signed me up with Bay Alarm on 12/18/12 after I had several falls. I have been happy with the service and have had no problems. Since I wear the alarm on a chain on my neck, I have occasionally bumped it by mistake and Bay has promptly responded quickly. Will keep using it!!

I took a fall and broke my femur. At the time I did not have an emergency alert system. I had to drag myself to the phone and dial 911. The emergency workers had to force the door. I purchased the medical alert upon my return home. The system was very easy to install and test. I also purchased a lock box for the front door. I feel much more secure knowing that help is a click away. Excellent service!

I recently ordered the system for my mother. I called to exchange the wrist band alarm for another necklace. My call was answered promptly and the agent I spoke with was knowledgeable, patient, friendly & helpful - thank you! We have had a wonderful experience with delivery, set up, testing and now customer service. Only suggestion for the necklace, please offer a white or other colored "thread" in addition to the black. You will sell them and the material you use is so lovely - just wish there were other color options. Thank you for this sense of security your system brings our family.

I find that my first contact with a company will influence my decision to go with that company or not. When I was shopping around for a medical alert, for myself, I had an excellent experience with the person that gave me the answers to the questions that I ask. I finished checking all the rest, and then came back with more questions, again excellent service. I felt so secure, that I ordered the full year. I did not feel I needed to TRY them out. The equipment arrived in a timely manner, was easy to set up. I checked the response time, again, everything was as I had expected. I highly recommend them. I have NO complaints.

The person I dealt with, **, was pleasant, well-informed, patient, and explained the system to me so that I could understand. I had some questions about hooking the system into my existing telephone equipment, but she knew the answer to my question and explained it to me. I was very satisfied with the whole experience.

Difficulty with initial set up. I have Comcast bundle, but needed to use single phone set up since Habitech wiring in my home. Also, rep said include info on giving access to my locked home in emergency. Did not get option info. My sister (30 min. away) has only other key & not always available.

Customer Service Agent ** was able to walk me through the correct set-up for an AT&T modem line that connected the internet with the phone and with the Bay Alarm. The AT&T technician wasn't able to do it after spending over an hour at the house!! I've been so please with the immediate response and professional interaction I've had after initiating the Bay Alarm Emergency Monitor system for my 85-year-old mother! I ordered this service for my 90 year old mom after my dad passed. The peace of mind this gives the whole family is priceless... but the service is very reasonable and reliable. I love the fact that there were no contracts - who knows how long we will actually need it. I hope for a long time! We received calls when Mom's power went out, and she accidentally pressed her button a few times and was responded to immediately. We also had a lock box installed that Bay Alarm has the combination to, so they can provide it to first responders. My only recommendation to make this service even better would be if the battery had a longer life, but it's good for 72 hours, so I suppose that's good enough.

On Tuesday night at approximately 1:30am my device was activated due to my home alarm system showing a trouble light warning. This caused my phone line to have no dial tone which in turn caused the medical Bay Alarm to activate. I was not able to contact Bay Alarm due to no dial tone. Your help line tried to call me but was unable because of the phone line not in service. I tried to reach your office by phone but was not able to do that by my cell phone due to reception problem. The fire department was dispatched and I was not able to prevent it. No fault due to Bay Alarm. I had excellent help and assistance from both ** who helped me reconnect the system. Thank you.

My mother recently transitioned to a nursing home after a fall and a broken hip. I called weeks in advance of the renewal date to cancel prior to another year being billed. When you disconnect the unit from the power supply the unit repeats error phrases continuously. The only way to get it to stop was to remove 4 screws from the unit and disconnect the internal battery supply by removing one clip. The post office would then accept the unit in a box to be mailed back. The screws were replaced and the unit was bubble wrapped inside a box and a tracking number confirmed. I included a letter to close the account and included a statement that the internal battery was disconnected by removing one internal clip. I confirmed the unit arrived and was told it was received and that the account was closed.
Today I received a bill for $200 stating that the equipment was damaged. The contract reports that the equipment must be returned in good operating condition. When the clip is re-attached to the internal battery the equipment will be operational. The post office would not accept the equipment with the error message from the unit continuously repeating. I hope this issue can be resolved. There was no information previously received as to how to have the error messages stop.

Thank God I haven't needed to use the device but from what I have seen and by the tests I have done, I feel comfortable with its abilities should I ever need to use it. If anything, just the thought of having a source of protection, since I'm alone a lot (I prefer my independence), is comforting.

Now I have received a notice of failure to pay as though they were the ones canceling my account. This company will try and rob you blind. Please beware and don't let the positive reviews fool you.

While I haven't had to use my button for an emergency yet, on the one occasion I accidentally hit it, there was an immediate response from an individual who you could tell only had my well being in mind. I did a lot of research before deciding on Bay Medical & wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs the reassurance of knowing you always have someone to count on if you need help.

I called to be sure the information I was providing on the contact list was correct. I had a good discussion with the rep and asked several questions as a new user. My elderly cousin is the user of the unit and she just received it today. Somebody in her assisted living facility helped her set it up and they called in to do a test. It was a very positive experience for all of us! And, Bay Alarm is extremely easy to do business with as they accept email, fax, phone, etc. communications. Wonderful!

Alarm box on kitchen counter. Me, 15 feet away on my computer alone in house. Loud alarm started with "help". I rushed to my land phone to pick up receiver and to tell the party I don't need help, and hung up. Bay person called me to double checked if I needed help, and stayed on the phone to answer my questions and tried to see what may have cause the "alarm to ring". I did tell her my pendant has been missing for 2 weeks now and someone may have it and pressed the button within 1000 feet........ Now that's a mystery, who has my pendant?! She was very understanding and said they would send me a new one free :) call me 5/13 to arrange delivery.

I initially acquired service for my grandmother for security measures, and before a year of service was completed, she decided she wanted it cancelled. I cancelled service, and was told I would have to return the equipment or be charged an equipment fee. I neglected to return the equipment, and was charged what they said was the equipment return fee. After the automatic charge on my account, I felt I was done with anymore communication with this company. Almost a year later I was sent another bill for service which they were going to charge another year of service. I explained I had cancelled and been charged the equipment fee, and they informed me they charged a second year of service to my account and not the equipment fee.
During this period, I never received any phone calls about equipment not working. Oddly enough I asked the representative what they monitored during the year as I had cancelled service. They had no explanation why I received not one call about equipment not working or any problems during their so called test. I completely refuse to pay another equipment charge of service since this company was given notice I was canceling service and continues to try and automatically pull money for services they were not monitoring. I even had to change debit cards due to their continuous actions to withdraw from my account. Very disappointed in this company and will never use their services again.. You all have been warned of their abuse of your credit card and their continuous withdrawal games.

I had some problems initially with battery backup; however, all Bay Alarm Medical people I spoke with were as helpful as they could be. Finally convinced them it could be their equipment. They replaced equipment and I haven't had any problems since.

Contacted customer service and discussed service on new unit. Main unit sent last week wasn't connecting past 200 feet. New unit works great and feel Very Safe with my mom at home alone. I talked to 3 different people at Customer Service and All 3 were Very Professional and Polite, They Represented Bay Alarm Very Good and Definitely an Asset to your Company. I bought this system for my mother who lives in another state last year. A renewal notice was sent to her - not me. By the time I received a copy of the notice and called the company to terminate the service (my mother has been doing some research and found something she likes more), I was told I had to mail the equipment back to them by the next day or be billed for the service again. Ummm - I have to go out of state to get the equipment. Customer Service did agree to bill on a monthly basis. (Even the cable companies will stop charging you for their service before they get their equipment back). When Customer Service discovered the credit card on file had expired, they called me and threatened to bill me for the year unless I gave them a new card. Wow, maybe someone was having a bad day but this is not the type of organization I want watching over my loved one's health.

Ordering the Bay Alarm was made easy and everything was explained in detail (no hidden fees). I have had occasion to accidentally trigger my alarm (thankfully only by accident) and they answer promptly and professionally. I was made to feel secure and reassured that they would be there in the event of a real emergency. The cost is reasonable with several payment options. This is a great value for the product.

Trying to send equipment back. How do I get the lock box off the door knob? Also, I just got a kind of court letter ref to returning everything by May 11, or I would pay a penalty. I explained to the operator that my husband is on hospice, bedridden with Alzheimer's and I am the caregiver. Time to do things is very limited. Please advise me as to lock box removal.

The same week my Mother (which is whom I was using Bay for) died, I was charged for an annual renewal fee. It's non-refundable, that's fine but I got so frustrated dealing with them I had to let my wife take over. She too had to hang-up, they are just that bad. Customer Service is HORRIBLE!!!

We had electrical problems in our home and you notified us of the problem. Amazing! I have been with you for less than a year and to have this kind of service is unheard of. I and family members have accidentally set off the alarm system and you have always been very patient and calm. My sister has another company and she is nowhere as satisfied as I am. The push buttons are too easily depressed. I've had several false alarms caused by the button being inadvertently depressed... one at 2:00 am when I was sleeping. I've stopped wearing the button on a cord around my neck and hung it up where it can't help me if I need help. HERE'S A SIMPLE SOLUTION: PROVIDE A HINGED GUARD THAT COVERS THE BUTTON. This could easily be designed to be retrofitted over existing buttons. If I wasn't so handicapped, I would design and install such a guard myself. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service for this company. When I received the medical devices for my grandmother, there were several false alarms which prompted me to end services. I sent an email AND a phone call disconnecting services and I promptly send the devices back. Several months after, I received a call from a debt collector regarding a bill for 3 months of disconnected services. (The company didn't even inform me about the bill. It went straight to the debt collector, who told me my credit will be affected if I did not pay.) Even with proof that I ended services they are still making me pay, which I feel is ridiculous and wrong, especially for a company that is suppose to be built on helping those who care about the safety and well being of their loved ones. In the future, when I have clients looking for medical alarm services, I will be recommending another company.

Although I was very impressed and pleased with the actual service provided by Bay Alarm Medical I was not happy with their cancellation policy or their subsequent customer service. Apparently their terms of service indicate that you have not actually cancelled unless you have returned the equipment. Although my mother left her home in November, 2013, and has never returned and we subsequently called to let them know that the service was not being used (which they can tell from their end) and that we would return the equipment. Admittedly we took much too long to return the equipment--no argument there, however, I don't think that should incur an additional annual payment for a service not being used. If we hadn't returned the equipment, of course, we should pay for it, but we did.
The other issue I had was that I was unable to speak with anyone other than the person who originally answered the phone. I have no idea if this person has taken it upon themselves to make their own unilateral decisions or if the company simply dismisses an industry standard of customer service to have an additional level to which one can appeal. So, my advice is only that you make a note that, when cancelling service with Bay Alarm Medical, be sure to return the equipment in a timely manner to avoid paying for additional service time.

My grandfather passed before using the equipment or even opening the box for that matter. I do not think customer service could have been more sympathetic and handled it differently. I would NEVER recommend this company to my patients. There has to be a better option.

My mother-in-law landed on her fanny this morning and my neighbor called me to let me know that Bay Alarm Medical called 911 and her. She didn't understand why they did not call us (primary number), since we were home. Since this is the second time this has happened. I called customer service. ** was great...she understood the situation, explained why 911 was called, and added a few notes to our file for clarity. I truly appreciate **'s help and kindness.

On three tests using my GPS button, I always received a quick response; plus I like the convenience of my button and case clipped onto my belt. Identification of my location was good, but not perfect in that the GPS identification was generally about 200 feet away from where I was, and about 25 minutes catching up with my movements. However, assuming I was conscious, I could then tell your emergency staff exactly where I was.

I did my research and contacted several companies. I chose Bay Alarm for my parents because they did not compound my anxiety with hard sales tactics. The staff were patient and courteous and helped me every step of the way. When it was time to terminate our contract they extended that same customer service. There were no hidden costs and they gave us peace of mind for several years. I would recommend this company.

Mom died. I called and advised them. She wouldn't wear the transponder gizmo as it sent false signals or something. They said, "Send back equipment." I did. They didn't get it or lost it, the latter most likely. Badgered me. I paid 400 dollars in the end. Not only that, but the gizmos and service sucked. That's why I thought it was a done deal a few days after my mother died.

First: I want a refund for services paid but never rendered! My 98 years old mother was not connected with the emergency system for several months. I ordered a new alarm button as she had misplaced the original button when the equipment was received. The smart one at Bay Alarm who sent the replacement button did not, repeat...did not set the new button to the base. So should she had fallen the button would not have assisted her!!!!!
I purchase a new equipment with Philips and you are no longer in her home!!! Provide address to return your equipment and refund the month of March, April, May, June and July 2015 that we're prepaid. You should not be allowed to operate with such disregard for the seniors you claim you help!!!! This is astonishing!!!!
Second: In 2014 a similar situation occurred. This time with the renewal of the service. Once it was renewed some moron at Bay Alarm never entered the information in the system that the account had been renewed and therefore although paid in full for the year my mother was not...repeat was not entered into the system. So if she had had an emergency the people monitoring the elderly in the system would not have found her and her system at her house would not have sent the signal!!!! This is plain **!!!
I can understand how they let you operate a business where you have no control over it or your systems and signals on emergencies!!! This is a total disgrace and you should be ashamed of running such operation. The California authorities should be appraised of the way you handle and service the thousands of senior citizens you have under your alleged care!!!! Call me when you have review this and refund my money!!!

When we test the service they are right there to make sure everything is OK. We have my father's medical information in a pouch from Bay Alarm on the fridge and a lock box with keys on the entry door. Bay Alarm provides the lock box combo when needed by emergency personnel. Most important my father lives just over the county line but when 911 is dialed from his home it is connected to the wrong county and has to be transferred. It is reassuring that if Bay Alarm makes the call they know to call the 911 where he lives as opposed to the one his phone number goes to.

I am writing on behalf of my 90-year old mother. The handset with built-in speaker makes it virtually impossible for her to understand what the operator {typically a female} is saying. A combination of the higher pitched voice along with the very low grade of the speaker inside the unit make it worse than using an old Jack in the Box drive through intercom. Anyway to correct this?

Unfortunately, on 3 different occasions, I set the alarm off. There was no actual emergency at any time, however, the response was immediate in each case. The button is obviously more sensitive than I realized and I have taken some further precautions to avoid repeating this again. This is the second time I've set up Bay Medical; first for my folks and now for my mother-in-law. Both times, ordering and setup have been hassle free. And the service is a much better than Lifelong, which my mother-in-law had before. They had a number of extra charges which resulted in a significantly higher monthly cost than we're paying with Bay. So far we haven't had any real emergencies but when we test the service (which we do regularly), they respond promptly. Save your money and go with Bay.

We ordered a unit with lockbox for my father last May. He has since gone into a nursing home and I phoned Bay Alarm to cancel and get the code to remove the lockbox from the front door. They stated the code is on the services agreement that was sent with the box. No, it isn't. So another phone call. They refuse to give us the code under any circumstances. Even though we are the original customer and ordered/paid for the service. My name is on the account. Yet we are stuck with a lockbox on the front door and no way to remove it. I plan on filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Going to have to hire a locksmith to remove the box. INSANE.

I placed this order for my 83 y.o. osteoporotic mother. The initial ordering by internet was easy. The delivery wait time was appropriate, and installation was not complicated. I live approximately 90 miles away from my mother -- she insists on living independently, so we both have a greater peace-of-mind that any emergency responses may be available if she cannot make it to the telephone or call out to her neighbors for help.

When I signed up with your company I was told the range was 1,000 ft. I pressed the button from about 400 ft. The operator could not hear me. I had to come out of the room to speak to them. When I called your company I was told by two different people that the range was 100 ft. in the same room

The term "range" refers to the distance away that you can be from our medical alert system base unit (the box) in order for it to still pick up a signal from the wrist or necklace button, not in terms of how far you can be and still hear the operator. We apologize for the misunderstanding about that.
If the operator cannot hear you, we will attempt to get in contact with you through your home phone. If still no response, we will then assume that an emergency has happened and we will dispatch the nearest local paramedics to your home.

The pendants must be waterproof. I called once and was told they are not, and that I have to take it off when I shower. That is a time that I most need it and when I took it off, I would forget to put it back on. I called again and was told that it is water resistant and I should wear it in the shower. I worry about. I wish the alarm on the main unit was louder.

Hi, I placed this order for my Mom. I am her son. When I placed the order I was promised a free gift for my Mom which was suppose to be a pair of socks which were in stock at the time. I called a couple of weeks later and was told they had just received the socks and were in stock to be shipped to my Mom's address but to this date have yet to receive. Also, I asked to switch the wrist device with a necklace device and customer service said it could not be exchanged because it was beyond 14 days. I did not think this was fair or enough time for a senior citizen to decide. The staff was not very flexible or understanding or gave good reason why the socks were not sent.

We selected Bay Alarm medical alert device for my mother based on customer reviews and features, so far we're very pleased. We really liked the waterproof feature considering the high percentage of falls that occur in bathrooms. After setting up the base unit I called your customer service to get help in verifying we'd set it up correctly. ** assisted us and made the setup very easy. She took the extra time to have us test the system ensuring it worked properly. We opted to get both the pendant and wrist alert buttons so my mother had the option on which one works best for her.
** walked us through the testing of both buttons which also made my mother feel confident in their use. Plus your call center people were very courteous and helpful when they answered the testing of the system. ** was very patient and professional in answering my mother's questions. My mother-in-law used the service at our request. My husband and I paid for the service as we live 3000 miles away and it gave us peace of mind. She never needed or called Bay Alarm for assistance. To simplify life we paid the year up front the second year of service. My Mother-in-law died suddenly, one month after we paid for an entire year. We understand and the terms were clear that Bay Alarm was not required to provide a refund. We hoped that given the circumstance, some part of the nearly 400.00 paid would be refunded as a courtesy. I called to make sure the equipment was received and requested to speak to a supervisor to discuss the situation. I was told I could not speak to a supervisor after 4 requests. I was told that no refund would be given under any circumstances. I think that this is unacceptable on a good faith, customer service basis. I am dissatisfied with this outcome.

Unable to resolve my issue in a civil manner by phone with Bay Alarm Medical customer service, resorting to social media was my last resort. After speaking with my grandmother we have decided to cancel our service. When I first ordered Bay Alarm Medical it was to protect my grandmother and to have peace of mind. My grandmother is almost 1000 miles away, and I worry about her safety often. First, Bay Alarm Medical sent me the equipment by mistake 3 times, finally sending it to my grandmother after 4 attempts. A month or two later I received a bill for 200 dollars for un-returned equipment.
Trying to call several times explaining that I have no need or motive to keep the equipment for myself. I am 35 years old male and this service was purchased for my grandmother not me. Bay Alarm Medical's customer service logic is the return shipping label was never used, but I never used the return shipping label. I wrote RETURN TO SENDER and gave the device back the delivery person, because I was tired of driving to return the equipment. On account of your rude and accusatory customer service we have decided to cancel our service and write this. I do not enjoy being accused of lying or being a thief; even if the accusations are innuendos. There is no motive for me to keep equipment that was for my grandmother in Kansas. We did not make the mistake and mail equipment to the wrong address 3 times, your company did. I wrote this to let people know the qualify of service of Bay Alarm Medical.

Bay Alarm Medical at one time a good company and I was very satisfied with the service. At one time... NO MORE. They say they are upgrading the equipment at no charge to you but in reality NO. The upgrade is really a downgrade. When you attempt to speak with customer, no that's a joke. My father's life is worth more than that. So my advice find a good company. Stay away from Bay Alarm Medical.

My wrist band is wearing out. The customer service rep was very thorough with my options. What I am hoping is that you will let me keep the wrist band for night time wear. I ordered a necklace as the wrist band is cumbersome and bothersome at times. I can't have only the necklace, however, because of my sleeping habits. I get up one or more times at night and am really afraid of falling. I need the wrist band AND the necklace, please, pretty please! The customer service rep was polite, thoughtful, and a delight to work with. Good job in selecting her!!!

I purchased this service for an elderly parent (who, much to my relief, embraced the service). It was incredibly easy to set up, to the point where when I first called to test it, the operator on the other end already knew my (mother's) name. My mother is very hard of hearing and the operator spoke loudly and clearly so that she could understand. On the other hand, I hope my mom never needs to use the service!

I am very pleased and grateful at the wonderful experience I have had so far with Bay Medical. We installed the system at my Mother's apartment at the end of Dec. and have had three calls to date. The dispatchers were very kind and clear that she had fallen, was totally fine but cannot get back up. Just as we requested, they called us first and called all phone #'s for us to determine if the Paramedics be called. Door to door we made it to her apartment in 8 min and she was back in bed 20 min after her original stress signal. Thank you Bay for giving me peace of mind and worry free.

So far I am happy, but I have not had to use you. My electricity did go out in a storm though and when it was back on someone called to check on me which I thought was nice... Here are my concerns: Seems when I ran a test or accidentally hit the button that it takes quite a while before I hear a response from someone. The other concern is that you are not set up for this to work when I am outside or in my backyard. Maybe you could work on that.

When the power went off my HELP button started immediatedly broadcasting a call for help. I did not know how to get it to stop. An operator came on the line right away and I explained my problem. She put me in touch with a technical person who quickly told me how to get the problem corrected. I contacted my son to let him know that I was all right and was pleased to find out that he had already been alerted to my need for help. Since I am an eighty-seven year old woman living alone, I was pleased to see how quickly Bay Medical came to my rescue.

These people will take you to the cleaners. Ordered service for my mom. They kept calling me about buying service for a year. I did. Mom fell and they didn't get anything right. The fire dept broke door down because they weren't given the correct code or info so I'm paying for a door frame. I called to cancel service and was told there is no refund for the remaining 9 months so I'm out $186.75.

We did some research on this type of service. This company was recommended through AARP. I am very glad we went with them. Their customer service is excellent. Their product was easy to set up and get operating. We now have peace of mind while we are working, that Douglas, who is 96, can get help if he falls or is in any way incapacitated.

My alarm wasn't working because I didn't have it wired right with the modem and phone I was using. It took Jasmine of Bay Alarm Medical at least 20 minutes or more to have me get it going in a different location, by the modem. I also had an answering machine to wire it to, so I was having trouble getting the wires straightened out. Jasmine was very patient with me, waiting while I got each step straight. She was also very understanding with my slow brain!

I am very disappointed in Bay Alarm's 'no refund after 14 days' business practice. My 93-year old mother had her unit only 3-4 months when she returned it. After several weeks we called to check on the refund status and were told about this policy and that there were NO exceptions. We entered into the agreement in good faith, but when it didn't work out for her, your company did NOT operate in good faith in return. And irregardless of it being in some fine print we didn't see at the outset, it is still horrible customer service and a complete disregard for seniors and their financial well-being. I will certainly make it known to all that this is your practice and to look elsewhere for this type of service. While I was unsuccessful in helping my mother get the substantial refund she is due, we will at least have satisfaction in knowing consumer word of mouth is much more powerful than any marketing strategy you utilize!

I ordered their service on Dec. 20th for my grandmother. Spoke to a very nice girl who took care of me. She asked if I wanted a necklace or a bracelet and I said a necklace as my grandmother's wrists are very small. The order arrived on December 30th. Included was the equipment, a lock box that I ordered, and a wristlet. Not the necklace. On January 3rd I called in complaining about the wristlet and was told they would send me a necklace, but I would have to pay for it. Once I got it, I should send back the wristlet and they would refund me. I agreed.
On January 7th, my grandmother said she would not let us set this system up. Just didn't want it. So, I called them and was told that I could cancel. And they would refund me as long as I got the equipment back to them by January 13th. I agreed. Asked about the extra necklace I paid for and was told that went in the mail on January 5th. That if I return it, I would get my money back on that as well. We packed up everything we had (lockbox and equipment) and mailed it all back via FedEx. The box was received at Bay Alarm on January 12th.
I called in On January 15th asking about the credit. I was told that the monthly service fee was to be credited back to me, but not the lockbox fee. The girl claims it was not received. I said it was packed in the same box and she said her warehouse people said it was not. Now, I know it was in the box, because I saw it get packaged up! But she said she could not help me. I asked about the necklace as it never arrived. She said I had to wait until January 20th to see if it would arrive. I asked for a tracking number for it and she said there was none. I asked for her to have a manager call me back and she said she would.
Needless to say, January 20th arrives and I get a call from the same girl. She asks if the necklace ever arrived. Of course it did not. Was probably never shipped! So, she said she would refund me. I then ask about the lock box and she said no, they would not refund my $49.95 on that because her warehouse people (the same ones who sent the wristlet instead of the necklace and the same group who claims they mailed a necklace on January 5th that never arrived) said they never got back the lock box.
I once again stressed to her that the lock box was indeed sent back. She said she could not help me. I asked why a manager never called me and she put me on hold. A minute later a supposed manager named Pablo got on the phone. Pablo. No last name (I asked for it and he said **). He got on the line and basically said nothing. Wanted to know what I needed. He was utterly unhelpful. Same speech as the girl, "Oh, my warehouse said they did not get it." I reminded him of how successful his warehouse has been so far with my order and he seemed unfazed. This company does not care. And what I find most disturbing is that it is normally the elderly that they are dealing with. So, if my short encounter with them went this horribly wrong, I cannot imagine what they are doing to older people who are not paying attention. Terrible service. There are plenty of medical alert systems on the market. Choose one of those instead!

We are providing this service for an 88 year old relative, Mary, who lives alone in Miami, FL. From the day the box arrived with her "call button" Mary has felt a sense of relief. The first time she had to press that button was back in November, 2014. She couldn't get out of bed due to swelling and pain in her legs. Bay Alarm put her at ease on the phone (in Spanish) and the medics got there in a timely manner to evaluate her. They took her to the hospital where she stayed for a week with a blood infection and then went to rehab for 2 weeks.
About 3 weeks after getting back home from Rehab, the power went out in Mary's home due to a transformer blowing up nearby. Mary couldn't believe it when her land line telephone rang and it was Bay Alarm Medical calling to see if everything was okay because they had gotten a signal that the power was out in Mary's home. How comforting to Mary (and us) to know that Bay Alarm Medical was there if she needed her in this circumstance as well. We are extremely pleased with this service!

I ordered and am in charge of paying for this service for my brother, Robert **. Everything seems to be working well. Only problem is your alarm button. He had it on his wrist, inside and outside the wrist. Either way, there were two false alarms, bringing the EMTs to the house (the phone was off the hook) and once when we were outside on the patio talking and we heard the box "speaking" to us. I ran in to tell them that no one pushed the button. The button is not recessed enough to prevent inadvertent alarms. If you casually hit something, it can go off. Perhaps make the button so that it has to be held down 2 seconds, or make a guard on top so that it can be accidentally pressed. I don't know how many times the EMTs will come out for false alarms before they charge you.

Just a few days after installing your lifeline, I fell in my bathroom with the door shut. Even though the unit was 15 feet away from the closed door, I was clearly able to hear the Bay Alarm Operator and they could hear me. In just minutes, help arrived. Your pendant should sound an alert at the customer's end when pressed. I accidentally pressed it 3 separate times without realizing it. Twice, I heard the voice on your unit and explained that it was a false alarm. The third time I was in a part of the house far from the unit and without a phone. Your staff did call me and also called my daughters. But I was too far to hear the phone ringing. So, the police and ambulance came to my house, scaring me and my neighbors. I was so embarrassed and felt awful that the volunteers came out unnecessarily. Now I am very nervous when out of hearing of the unit and phone, such as in the garden, porch or shower. When my contract is up in April, I will try to find another company whose pendant sounds a warning when pressed.
My second complaint is about your shipping costs for a replacement pendant. I lost mine and called your company on Friday 1/9/15 at about 11 AM PST. The charge for the new pendant was $34.95 and the shipping charge was $9.95. I said that sounded high so I assume they will send it for next-day delivery. The woman said no, that all these go via regular mail. I finally got the pendant, EIGHT days later on Friday 1/16/15. I admit that it was postmarked 1/9. I noticed that your company paid 69 cents in postage and charged me $9.95. I cannot understand why something as important as this is not sent for next-day delivery. If I need a pendant, I need it everyday.

Thank God for Barb's alert button yesterday. I was out running errands and Bay Alarm called me at 3:50 pm to tell me she had fallen and paramedics were on the way. When I got home there were five firemen standing around her sitting on the sofa. She had reached over the side of the loveseat to get the remote and fell between the sofa, loveseat and the wall and couldn't move. She was wedged. If she hadn't had the panic button she could have suffocated. She had a couple of scrapes on the side of her nose and under her eye. Nothing broken. The firemen had the code for the front door key box and opened the doors to get in. Anyhow, she's ok, but a little sore. Even the firemen said it was a great setup especially with the button, intercom, key box and the who to call list. It just makes good sense so no one has to worry about something happening. Fortunately, she's OK. Thanks again Bay!

When my mother dislocated her hip and struggled in pain for an hour trying to reach the phone on her nightstand, it became apparent that we needed to fix it so she would never have to endure prolonged pain so we contacted you and established service. This was done with the hope she would never need to use it. Within just a short time she again dislocated her hip in the early morning hours but this time she had the pendant and was able to call for help immediately. We had set up a lock box on her porch so your company dispatched help and provided the combination for the lock box to the responders and they were able to get to her quickly. While this was going on, my brother and I were called so we were able to meet her at the hospital. There aren't words strong enough to tell you how important your system is or the ease of mind for my mother, my brother and me because of your service. She is able to maintain her independence and live in her home. Thank you for all you do everyday!!!

Bay Alarm is a great service for me since I live alone and never can tell what emergency might arrive. The only thing I don't like is that you cannot test your system. I have four devices on my system and would like to test it once a month. Every time I press the button the monitoring center get irate.

I have had the Bay Alarm Alert for several months now and am totally happy with it. I feel more secure when I am home when my husband is in the hospital and wouldn't feel otherwise without it. I have accidentally pushed the button on the necklace device I wear (well, my cat has stepped on it, lol) and you get a quick response. I wanted to recommend it to my 90 year old parents and had some questions I knew they would ask and the representative at Bay Alarm was so helpful and patient.
