Well, Alert1's product/service did in fact assist my elderly mom when she fell and could not get up by herself. She lives alone and has used the Alert1 call button twice in the last 3 1/2 years on occasions when she needed help. She lives alone and wants to stay independent as long as she can. Hey, I can't put her in assisted living if she doesn't want this. Alert1 is the next best thing for peace of mind. Local emergency response personnel are contacted and arrive on the scene in a few minutes - much faster than I could get to her house from my job that is 45 miles away. Keep up the good work, Alert1.

I received a call from Alert1 to tell me that the alarm had gone off in my mother's house and they would call me again with an update. Well, an hour went by and still no call. During that time, I was frantically trying to contact my mother who did not pick up her cell phone. Eventually, she called me back to say that she had been "testing" the system and was very pleased with Alert1's response and that the "emergency" had been cancelled. Only thing is, Alert 1 never called me back to tell me that it was a false alarm! The initial call was the last time I heard from Alert 1, though they did follow up with my mother promptly.

I bought this system for my Mom over a year ago. The people at Alert1 have been some of the most caring people we have dealt with in a long time. It is so hard these days to really feel like you actually get what you pay for and with Alert1, you get even more. The customer care unit makes you feel like you are the most important customer that they have and you know you can rely on them. Thanks to such a great group of people.

I have had the service for my Mom for the past three years and have been very happy with it. She has never needed it in an emergency scenario but has accidentally "called" on a few occasions. The response is always quick and pleasant. I examined several services before picking Alert1 and feel it is a great value for the service they provide.

I just wanted to relate an experience we had with my mother. She had fallen out of her car in the garage that was not attached to the house. She pressed the button on her wrist monitor but didn't think that it had worked. When she fell, she had also thrown her cell phone into the back seat. She crawled to the back of the car, retrieved her cell phone and called 911. When she called, she was informed that the paramedics were already in her house and looking for her. She has had a few fall experiences and the monitor was invaluable. We are extremely happy with the monitor and would recommend for any family that has an elderly loved one living by themselves.

I bought Alert1 for my mom because she had fallen and broken her hip once and then had fallen again and was barely able to get up. She wore it for a while, but hit it by accident one night and was embarrassed so she quit wearing it. Then she fell again and wasn't found for almost 24 hours. That did it for her. She now wears it 24/7/365. There have been a couple of accidental hits, but the operators are very nice and professional with her when that happens. Luckily, she has not needed it recently, but I feel a lot better knowing she has it. I am in the military and live 19 hours away so it's nice to know she will be taken care of.

Alert 1 has allowed my sisters and me to have peace of mind since my mother recently became a widow and had a fall and broke her hip. Both of these happened to mom within two months, and we were very concerned about her being alone. The customer service was extremely polite and seemed to genuinely care about my mother's well-being. If mother forgets to test her Alert 1 system, the Alert 1 Support Team checks on her! We are very pleased with Alert 1 and will gladly recommend Alert 1 services.

I thankfully received a call that my dad's device was reading that it was in a high temperature on a hot summer night. I was so thankful for that call! I live in a different state, but his neighbor was able to check in and make sure he was okay. Thank you for calling me! I did not know the device had the capability. One more reason I am glad that I got Alert1 for my dad. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My mother has fallen several times and been unable to get up. She pushes her button and Alert1 calls the paramedics. They help her up. If necessary, they transport her to the hospital. Alert1 calls us to let us know that they have contacted the paramedics. We can then go to her home or meet her at the hospital. We no longer worry about her lying on the floor for hours. Alert1 gives us peace of mind and allows my mother to continue to stay in her home. We really appreciate this. Thanks Alert1!

I live 800 miles away from my 89-year-old mother and even though I have siblings who live nearby, I was still worried about her living in the house alone. Everyone was afraid to introduce the subject of an Alert1 type system because we knew she would fight us. But I purchased this for her and had it delivered. We set it up and the first time she tested it, the operators were extremely nice. The first few weeks, she set off the alarm several times accidentally and each time the operators were there, sympathetic and kind. When the day came that she really needed help, the system worked perfectly! An ambulance was sent to her house and my siblings were contacted promptly. Luckily, it was not serious and Mom is back home. But after resisting for so long, she now says she is so thankful that she has Alert1 just in case. And I am too!

After my dad passed away, we suddenly found my mom home alone. She was not ready to move out of her house, but was concerned about being alone if something were to happen. Last year, we signed up for Alert 1. It was a very simple connection process that started online. This past year, I received a call in the middle of the night from Alert 1. They said her pendant button was pressed and she was not answering their calls. I jumped in the car as they called 911. Luckily, it was just an accidental press of the button. The firemen were very kind and Alert 1 was also very helpful. It was nice to know the system worked great even though she was not in trouble. Thank you, Alert 1.

My wife fought a 16-year battle with three forms of cancer. Her last minutes in her own home were improved dramatically when she slid out of bed and immediately pushed the necklace button. I was at her side in minutes and had the EMS experts at her side in a few more minutes. No more than 15 minutes elapsed from the time she slid out of her own bed and she was in the ambulance on her way to her final trip to the hospital. Alert1 performed beyond expectations.

I purchased Alert1 for my grandmother a little less than one year ago, and I feel much better about her being home with it. She now has the ability to go outside and move freely around her home and always have help just a push button away. She was hesitant at first to accept it but after a few weeks, she began to wear the necklace and I really like that someone calls to check her equipment if she forgets each month. If it wasn't for me getting my 94-year-old grandfather Alert1, I would be one big worrywart. He has fallen a few times and was left on the floor until someone went there and found him. After reading all kinds of other companies, I decided to get him Alert 1 because of their great service. No matter how many times I call about something, they are there with a smile to help me, answering my questions. And since then, he has fallen and they were right there to get him help when I wasn't around. I think they are a great company. I truly love the fast service on getting him help when he needs it. Thank you so much for the service you provide.

I contracted Alert One services for my 89-year-old aunt who lived alone in her own home. (She also suffers from a bit of dementia/Alzheimer’s.) One of the things that I did with my aunt was to have her test the system once a month because I wanted her to be comfortable with what happens when you actually push the button. So, I'd sit there with her and have her push the button. Within a few moments, an Alert One representative would be on the line (the voice actually echoed throughout the home) asking if everything was ok? I'd have my aunt speak back to the representative (she can speak a little slowly sometimes) explaining that everything was fine and that we were just testing the system.
The Alert One representatives were great! They explained that they could hear her very well and that if it had been a real emergency, they would dispatch the appropriate authorities. They even thanked her for the test call! I really appreciated their patience, understanding, and professionalism when they spoke to my aunt. We would end the test call and I think that both my aunt and I felt more comfortable about her knowing what to do in the event of an emergency. Our particular situation has since changed as my aunt now resides in an Assisted Living facility. However, for the time we used Alert One, they were great and they gave us added peace of mind that help was only a button press away. I would actually recommend, however, that caregivers go a step further than I did and simulate real scenarios that an Alert One user might experience should they need to press the button. In other words, in a situation like mine, I recommend helping the senior citizen to the floor and then testing the system because this is where they will most likely be if they have to press the button.

Five years ago, my kids gave me Alert1 for Christmas. No gift has kept on giving me as has that one. On three different occasions, it has brought help to my side in minutes. On the first year, it was this routine, "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up.” The second time, someone working on opening my window accidentally set off the alarm. When the Alert1 agent came on the phone, he answered that I was fine. Minutes later, a policeman was opening my door. The Alert1 agent was verifying I wasn't being robbed or raped. This last year during the big tornado that hit our neighborhood, I slid into the bathtub for safety. I didn't have my phone with me and it was ringing off the wall as my kids were calling me to check on my safety. I couldn't get out of the tub, so I pushed my button. The Alert1 agent came on and then relayed the message to my daughter that I was okay and sent help to get me out. Thanks to Alert1, I feel safe in every situation and not just with the routine fall (which, of course, is very important)!

Approximately one year ago, I signed my 86-year-old mother up for your Alert 1 necklace. She has been very happy with your product and was so pleased to tell me she had a "male visitor" one night. When I questioned her further, she said, "A man came into my bedroom last night and talked with me." Of course, this further peaked my interest. Upon further questioning, she said she had accidentally rolled over on her necklace during her sleep and had pushed the button by mistake. She immediately heard a very loud male voice ask her if she was okay. This is very good as she is extremely hard of hearing! Needless to say, we have been extremely pleased and have had much more peace of mind since she has been wearing the necklace. We would recommend it to anyone and we have!

I have Alert 1 now for a couple of years for my elderly mother who lives with me. We have used it on a number of occasions (unfortunately). But when we have used it, the person on the other end was always efficient and calm, and got us the help we needed in a timely fashion. However, there was one time it took them a little too long to respond after a call. And even on testing the unit the other day, it took a bit too long. If there was a heart attack, that could mean life or death. However, overall, the service is wonderful and I feel comfortable leaving my mother home alone. I don't have the luxury of not working, so I need some kind of assurance that there will be help for her when I can't be there.

I appreciate the opportunity to express my gratitude to the customer service staff of Alert 1. It truly puts my mind to ease knowing my loved ones are able to reach assistance now if help is needed. My parents both are in their 80s and live in a rural area nearly 100 miles from me. Both have had strokes, causing my father to choke now very easily, and my mother suffers with Alzheimer’s, which means she can no longer use the phone to call for help. With a push of a button, I now know he can get the help he would need.
I also appreciate the way the Alert 1 staff calls from time to time just to make sure the unit is working correctly. And when an emergency truly did arise, they alerted me to let me know they had already called for an ambulance. I could not have been more pleased to work with your customer service staff. I worked with a Rachel last spring from Alert 1 that went out of her way to help me. Thank you for your time. (Please note that the billing comes to me and my father [Donald ** of Camden] is the one using your unit.)

Since my father passed away, I was concerned about my mother living alone. Living out of town, I immediately looked into alternative medical alert companies. Alert1 was selected for having no contracts, reasonable prices, and easy installation. They even request monthly testing to check equipment. The only concern (as with all companies) is their response time from the moment "the emergency button" is pressed. My suggestion to others about obtaining this type of service is to compare and be aware. While researching, look into Alert1 and all their benefits and compare it with other companies. Another plus for Alert1 is that their website has provided all the important information on their website - other companies' websites make you call just to obtain their information!

My aging mother needed to use her Alert1 button for the first time this summer. So far, we haven't had to use the system other than moving it when Mom goes to visit one of her daughters for a few months out of the year and to check it on a monthly basis. This has been the best investment in security for all the daughters. We know that Mom is safe and that you have her back! She is 92 years old and living with a daughter, who would hate to think Mom is lying on the floor helpless until she comes home from work. The Alert 1 system is just what it claims to be - a life alert! All the dealings I have had with the folks there have been over the top helpful. I got this system for my in-laws last year and was wondering when the renewal was coming up, so I called to find out about how to renew. I found out it was automatically done, which was really nice since I had forgotten that I signed up for that. I can't tell you the peace of mind my mother-in-law has with this system in her home. She has told many of her neighbors about it. The thing she likes best is the lock box on her door. Her neighbor has a system through another company, and she doesn't have the lock box, and the rescue squad had to wait on her son to arrive when she called 911 in the middle of the night because she didn't have the box on her door. Good thing it wasn't a matter of life and death. I, myself, have used my in-laws lock box to get in their door when I have forgotten my key.

My sister and I ordered the Alert 1 system in January 2012 for our mother after a pretty serious health occurrence. The system arrived when they said it would, included all the necessary equipment, and was very easy to activate. Their response team was very thorough and helpful with any questions we had. This system helped my mom, sister, and me sleep a little easier every night. Although it was never put to the test, as our sweet mom joined our dad quite peacefully early in August, I have no doubt it would have met our expectations. The technician kept broadcasting her request: "Do you need help?”; “Are you ok?”; “Please answer.” While my mother's reply was not loud enough, her next-door neighbor could hear the technician's voice loudly asking for my mother's reply through the open window in my mother's kitchen. He was on a ladder working on building a tree house for his young daughter. He got down from the ladder, entered my mother's house, and found her on the bedroom floor. While the Alert 1 technician summoned the ambulance that took her to the local hospital emergency room, the phone speaker played an important part of her safety as well. When the outage occurred, the system tried to alert me, though I was unable to respond, absent the power to do so. Unknown to me, Alert 1 kept trying to make contact, and ultimately, went so far as to follow up on my "alternate" contact, my daughter. Holly lives in the house next to mine and was also without power; however, her office in Charlottesville had power restored. Alert 1 traced the contact and reached my daughter at work to determine if I was all right. She assured them and thanked them for their diligence and then called me to advise me of what had happened. The point is, rather than blame the problem on his phone, phone line, or anything else, they worked diligently and willingly to solve the problem. As it turned out, his home security system had a low battery on the backup that was causing the problem. Horrible customer service and misleading pricing table - After my dad suffered a fall and was stranded on the floor, my brother and I decided to purchase Alert1 for my mom and dad. We opted for the one-year contract to save some money. Sadly, three months later, my dad passed away. I contacted Alert1 to cancel my dad's contract and inquired about a full or partial refund for the remainder of the year. They did not only refuse to refund any of my money, they were also very rude about it. When I asked to speak to a manager, the manager yelled at me and lectured me about reading carefully. After returning to their page, I found one line about not being able to get a refund after 30 days. I should also mention that this was two weeks after my dad's death. I mention this because a company who works with the elderly should be more considerate of family members. While I do realize that I shouldn't have missed the one sentence on the entire website about not being able to get any refunds after 30 days, I stand by my statement that the pricing table is misleading and they have the worst customer service of any company I have recently worked with.

We are very sorry about your loss and apologize if you perceived any rudeness in our conversation. We have provided coaching to our employee about your feedback.
Our company goal is to be transparent with our customers about our pricing policies. Therefore, on five different places on our website, we talk about our refund policy. In addition to stating our refund policy on our pricing page and in our FAQs, we also include our refund policy on our terms and conditions page, which you are asked to review as part of purchasing the service online.
We give our customers several gifts and other benefits when they sign up for our annual and quarterly plans, and in return we do not offer refunds on our service plans after the first 30 days. We understand it is difficult to foresee exactly how long you or your loved one will need a medical alert system, so we offer several different service plans at different price points to enable our customers to choose the plan that best meets their particular circumstances.

My husband and I set up an Alert1 system for my elderly parents. I had done a significant amount of research about the various companies and liked what I found out about Alert1. My parents were resistant and felt they didn't need a medical alert service since they live together and can always help each other. We told them if they wouldn't do it for themselves, please do it for us - our peace of mind - as we are two hours away. My mom has become forgetful and is easily becomes flustered. She had asked many times what to do if this or that situation presented itself. We always say, "Push the button."
Recently, my father (age 89) had been feeling poorly and was very tired. He woke up in the morning, sat up in bed and could not breathe! He quite literally could not get enough oxygen. My mother immediately pushed the button. The gal who answered the call greeted them and asked what was wrong. My mom told her what was happening and the operator was very quick to assess the crisis in the situation. She quickly called the correct emergency personnel. When the paramedics arrived, they said my father should have been in the hospital days ago.
My mom told me that at the hospital, my father was immediately surrounded by doctors and emergency staff. She watched his eyes roll up and thought she had lost him. My father pulled through and is back home today. We learned that he had a bad case of pneumonia and that morning, had a heart attack which caused the fluids to flood his lungs. The doctors told us if he had been at the hospital a few minutes later, he would not have survived. Had it not been for the quick thinking and actions of the Alert 1 operator, my father would be gone today. It truly was her clearheaded thinking that saved his life. I cannot thank her enough for this.
Today, my parents love their Alert1 buttons. They feel so safe and secure knowing someone is always right there. Now my father tells me, "If we hear a noise like someone breaking in at night, we can just push the button and get help." Alert1 allows my parents, even with their medical issues, to live in their own home where they feel the most comfortable.

I wear it faithfully and live with the confidence that help is only a push of the button away. I check the pendant periodically and appreciate the kind response from the representative on the other end. There have been occasions when I pushed the pendant without knowing I did so. She is home during the day alone most of the time and with First Alert, the worry has definitely decreased. I know she won't be lying unattended and hurt for a long period of time as she wears her wrist button and has used it on several occasions and the timeliness of a response was excellent. The only drawback is it seems the internal battery backup doesn't last a very long time. Our electric was out for 3 hours and we received a call from Alert1 to let us know that there was a low battery. There is nothing we can do about that. The batteries need a longer backup.

It took me awhile in the dark to figure out how to remove the white rubbery plug and move the dial to "off." My family has been surprised and disappointed that we have not received a call from the company to be sure dad is okay. What if he were one of thousands of people who are truly "alone" and dependent on Alert1?

We’re sorry to hear that you and your family were impacted by the severe storms that battered much of the United States in early July. As you can imagine, we received a very high number of alarms from customers whose systems ran out of backup battery power after multiple days without power. In these situations, we prioritize reaching out to our customers who we believe are at greatest risk from the power outage–for example, those who are oxygen users.
We encourage our customers and their families to have an emergency plan in place to ensure that they are safe, or can get to a safe place, during an extensive power outage. We have a disaster preparedness planning tool that customers can download and complete before a disaster strikes: http://www.alert-1.com/resources/disaster-preparation-checklist-for-seniors/529.

I researched a home alert system for my father a couple of years ago. My parents were divorced years ago and both had remarried. Unfortunately, they both became widowed within 5 months of each other. He lived alone. I went on the internet and soon learned that Alert1 was recommended by Consumer Report! It also didn't have a yearly contract fee. It was easy to register online and have it delivered to my dad's house. As a nurse, I understand how frequently the elderly ends up in the hospital or worse, because they couldn't call for help if they became ill suddenly or fell and were not able to get up on their own.
This happened to my father. He fell and laid on the floor for over 12 hours. I had discussed with him about getting an alert system so if he needed help, he could get it. He resisted me until he laid on the floor for hours and was not able to get up! I felt so bad when I came over to find him on the bathroom floor! He ended up in the hospital for a week. There was no doubt that I was getting him some kind of alert system. He didn't resist me after his fall in the bathroom at night! I wanted the peace of mind to know that if he fell or became ill, he will be able to call for help!
The 24-hour customer service were kind and courteous! I didn't feel like I was bothering them, they were happy to answer my questions! When I was notified that the alert system had been activated, I was able to get to my dad and help him before he needed an ambulance! My dad passed away over a year ago, but when I called and asked what I'll do about returning the system, they were very helpful and it was easy, especially during a very difficult time! Now my mother has the Alert1 system because she lives alone and had fallen at home. I didn't hesitate to order the Alert1 system for her. It again gives her and our family peace of mind knowing that if she falls or needs medical attention, all she has to do is press the button. I would recommend this system for anyone who has a condition that has the potential of needing medical help fast! It is easy and affordable and most of all, provides everyone a sense of security !

Unable to rise, she called for help for about 30 to 60 minutes with no one to hear, as she lives in a rural area. As it was getting darker outside, she was ready to give up when she remembered she had her Alert1 button activator around her neck (she had rarely used it before). I live a little over an hour away from my parents. My mother is 79 and my father is 84. Mom has quite a few health problems that make it hard for her to get up and down, use the stairs, get dressed, etc. Dad has several health issues himself including a pacemaker. Dad does the laundry which entails carrying baskets of clothes up and down a full set of stairs along with most of the other household chores. My dad is there to help my mom, but he is still driving and makes the trips to the Commissary and the military base to pick up their many prescriptions. He also makes frequent trips to the doctor for blood tests. Mom is usually not up to making all these trips with him and will mostly stay home while he is gone.
My concerns when looking into the services you provide were that both my parents could have an alert necklace to wear at all times (including the shower - this is a very big concern especially with my mother), that there was a way for the paramedics to get in the house if my parents were unable to get to the door, and that I would be contacted immediately if they used the alert system. We were also concerned that the Alert1 System would not interfere with my dad's pacemaker. Alert1 covered all those concerns and more!
I asked a few friends and did some research on the web and luckily found your site. When I called, your staff was very helpful and had all the answers we needed. Within a few days, the kit arrived with a padlock which I put on the back door with the key in it, two necklaces and an individual alarm button for the wall. I called in and got help figuring out the best location for the box and how to plug it in and test the system. Since then, my mother accidentally pressed the alarm when she was standing outside talking with a neighbor. Alert1 contacted EMS when they got no response on the telephone or from the call box and then contacted me. EMS went to the house and after speaking with my mother, called back to Alert1 who then called me back to let me know everything was okay. Luckily, this was a false alarm but it was very reassuring how everything was handled.
My parents have told me that they both feel safer with your system. They both wear the necklaces 24/7 home or not. And I can't even begin to tell you the sense of relief I feel now that I know that help is at their fingertips! I would highly recommend this service to everyone! Thank you!

The system itself was satisfactory. It worked as we planned. However, we paid for the unit on Sunday, May 2 for a year - it was the simplest way to ensure that we wouldn't forget to make the payment. We were told that if we didn't need the unit, we would be able to return it and receive the unused portion of our money back. On July 2, we no longer needed the system. I notified them on July 3 and asked for the proper way to return the unit and get our money back for the remainder of the year. Imagine our surprise when they said, "no, you can't get your money back." So, lesson learned. Do not pay for a year in advance. They will refuse to return any money to you. Do not let them talk you into anything more than a month at a time - then maybe you'll have a chance to cancel.

She hit her button and received the help needed to get her to the hospital. Just recently, she fell and broke her hand, wrist and leg. Again, she was wearing her Alert1 and pushed her button. The neighbor let the paramedics in her home and once again they were able to get her to the hospital. My 89-year-old mother fell and laid on the floor in front of a lit stove for 1 1/2 hour before my sister came home. I decided that she needed access to communication for emergencies. Alert1 provided just that, except that they exceeded my expectations at every turn. Customer service, ongoing testing of the system, and when my mother sent an accidental signal, they were polite and understanding and repeatedly stated that if she needed them, to just push the button. She feels more independent, and my worry level has decreased. So, thank you, Alert1. Your staff and company have improved the quality of life for not 1, but 3 people.

Only one call was made to my cell phone at 2:57PM. I missed the call due to a meeting. I did not know of my mother's fall until 5:45PM. When I called Alert1 to find out where my mother was, the customer rep was very accommodating with getting the info. Suggestion, Alert 1 should keep calling contact numbers until they reach a live person, not a voicemail!

We were very sorry to hear about Sharon’s mother’s experience, so we reviewed our records on this emergency to see what we could learn from and improve on in the future. From our recorded conversations we determined that Alert1 did in fact stay on the line with Sharon’s mother until emergency services reached her, at which time EMS disconnected our call. We then followed up with Sharon and learned that after EMS took her mom to the hospital, her mom experienced a long wait at the emergency room that was very distressing and the cause of the complaint. We worked with Sharon to make sure that she had updated medical information for her mother noted in the Vial of Life form that she has posted on her mom's refrigerator. We also updated her account to make sure that our operators remind the emergency services team to look for a Vial of Life form in case of a future emergency.

She lives alone and though she is somewhat self-sufficient, she is getting on in years, she is 86 now. I have the Alert 1 for my mother, who lives in another city. Knowing she is safe and can get help whenever she needs it is important to me. And since she has had to have help a few times from Alert 1, she feels more comfortable with the service. I find it less satisfactory with someone who is deaf and can't hear the phone or the main control when operator calls to check. Also, he seems to set off false alarms very often - it is apparently very sensitive and I fear the medics will soon start charging my parents for false alarms when my mother is not home. In June 2011, I blacked out at 2 am on my way to the bathroom, fell and broke my right leg. I required surgery to place a plate with 6 screws and was in a cast for 4 months. I relocated last fall from San Francisco to Norcross to be closer to family. While awaiting my furniture to be delivered, I stayed with my brother and sister-in-law for a month. One evening on my way downstairs for dinner, I fell from the top step to the bottom step giving myself a nice gash on the forehead. Fortunately, that was the extent of the damage.

Unfortunately, I was not told she would need to activate the device only on a weekday so when I got to her house on Saturday, I realized we paid the overnight for nothing. You should explain it needs to be activated on weekdays only. Then we found her original, so I advised my sister when she came to see my mom during the week to call and activate the second so we would have a back up. She did and was advised we could no longer use the first one.
My mom called me upset and I thought it strange because you can have more than one pendant and I was upset about the extra money we spent for nothing. I called then and spoke to Andrew. You need more like him. He assured me we could have six pendants if we wanted and my sister should not have been told my mom could not have two. Not only did he assure me but he called my mom and assured her that both would work. Again, I am not upset about purchasing the second one (now we have a backup) but I was upset about the needless worry we were given and not getting complete info the first call. We love your product. We have had the Alert1 system for over 5 years for my mother's use in her home. In those 5 years mom has had to use the system a number of times and we have always been notified immediately. Last November, mom fell and ended up being in the hospital for just over a week. It was late in the evening when we got the call from Alert1 and we were able to get mom some help that night. If not for Alert1, mom could have laid on the floor until morning until someone checked on her, or the consequences could have been much worse. Thank you Alert1!

I was a little leery about this whole thing. My parents lived 4 hours away, so I knew they needed something. The person I spoke to on the phone was extremely helpful and before I knew it, my parents were set up. Unfortunately, they had to use it; fortunately they could use it. Even though he has now passed on, this system absolutely saved his life when he fell and needed to get help quickly.

We also had a few "false alarms" where the button was pushed during sleep and these were taken care of quickly and professionally. We would definitely recommend your service.

I don’t appreciate automatically charging my charge card for the next year’s renewal. Nothing was sent to me asking or telling me that the renewal was coming up and I only found out when I checked my credit card. I also received a call about my parents’ signal going off and I live 1500 miles away so I told the lady to wait before she called my brother who is closer and they didn’t. It wound up he made the trip for nothing because it was an accident.

We are very sorry for the confusion caused by our automatic renewal of your subscription. After we spoke to you on July 5th, we ensured that you had ‘opted in’ to automatically receive email notifications prior to future service renewals.

We used Alert1 monitoring system for my mother-in-law. When we originally began looking for a monitoring system for her, there were so many different companies, so many options. Alert1 was the only company we found that did not require a contract, that gave us detailed information about the equipment and the procedures and that was affordable. The staff that we spoke with was always available and so informative and friendly. Alert1 helped us to have the peace of mind that my mother-in-law would be safe when we were not there and allowed her the independence and freedom that she wanted. She was able to stay in her own home and truly have a sense of safety that if anything happened, Alert1 was there. We would certainly recommend Alert1 to anyone thinking about a monitoring system for a loved one. With Alert1, you give a loved one the gift of safety and independence!

At 75 years young, she has specific ideas about how she wants her life to be conducted, including end of life issues, and the folks at Alert1 were willing and happy to fulfill her desires. The equipment was easy to set up and operate. Every time we test it, the operators are always prompt, friendly, and willing to help get everything just right. My mother, who is 86 years old and lives with her friend who is 93 years old, has become somewhat feeble in the last few years. She has fallen five or six times within the last two years and cannot get herself back up. I decided to buy First Alert for her about six months ago and couldn't be happier. She has fallen twice since she got her unit and used your system both times to call for aid. Rather than her having to find the nearest phone and dial a number, she simply hits the green button and the rest takes care of itself. It has made all of us feel a lot more comfortable knowing that help, if needed, is seconds away.

My mom had the Alert1 in her home which enabled her to continue to live at home. Things usually go bump in the middle of the night when no one is around, and with the alarm, she was able to summon help when needed. Once she fell, and we were able to meet the paramedics at the house. Sometimes, she found she was too weak to get up and had Alert1 call, so a family member could go over, check things out, and help her. In fact, her end-of-life symptoms started in the middle of the night; and through the summons of the Alert1 person, I was able to go to her and call hospice for assistance. We never could have left mom in her home, which is where she wanted to be without the Alert1 monitor. Thanks for your assistance!

When I reached age 86, I felt I wanted to have a way to feel secure and safe when I was alone in my apartment. My son researched different kinds of alert systems for me and chose Alert1. I took his advice and ordered Alert1 for me, because his reasoning seemed very good for my needs. I called the enrollment contact, and without much hassle at all, I became a client. The necessary equipment was shipped as promised on time, and my son was able to install it for me. It was as easy to use as described by the company, and the extras included helped me for my needs; e.g., the key box with my choice of whom to share the information for how to retrieve the key to my apartment in case of an emergency. So, for all the above reasons, I have another reason to feel protected and safe and still be able to live alone. I would without hesitation recommend your company to anyone who asks me if I am satisfied. I would answer with a definite "yes."

The Alert1 people checking in with my mother are very nice. If she cannot understand them, they will speak a little slower to help her. Thank goodness we have never had to use the system in an emergency. When she is alone, she has it on. She keeps it next to her bed at night. It gives her a feeling of security. She is 97 and cannot be left alone. It also gives me the opportunity to get out a little to grocery shop and not be worried that something will happen and she will not be able to contact someone. I think it's a wonderful thing to have for anyone living alone, not just older people.

I've been an Alert1 customer for a number of months now. I've been very pleased with the service I've received. The button is small and lightweight. I hardly notice I'm wearing it. I never take it off, unless it's to set it down close enough to reach if I fall. This compares to one my mother had from a different service which was so large and awkward to wear that she refused to wear it until an emergency left her lying on a cold floor for hours. I love the fact that I don't have to worry about getting it wet when I'm doing dishes or whatever. I don't bathe with it on, because I found the cord it hangs from gets in my way. But since I don't have to worry about splashing water on it, it's easy to keep within reach.
The people I've talked to when I push the button have all been great. I've had one actual emergency since I've had the service. I fell, hurt my knee in the fall, and couldn't get up. I could have reached my phone, but the service was much more convenient. And they stayed with me until the problem was resolved. I've mainly pushed my button for monthly tests and by accident. In fact, the only drawback to Alert1's service I've found is that it's easy to push the button by accident by leaning against something. I did this a lot in the beginning, because it's so easy to forget I'm wearing it. I appreciated that all of the Alert1 people I talked to when this happened were completely nice about it. I would highly recommend this service.

I am a caregiver for my 87-year-old mother and decided to get Alert1 for her, a few years ago. We are both extremely satisfied with this very important service. She feels safer, knowing that she has this little button to push should she need help and is not able to contact me. I have a lot of stress taken off me, knowing she can get help quickly even if I am not close to home. We have had a couple of incidences where she had accidentally pushed her button during her sleep. Alert1 worked exactly as it should.
The first time, Alert1 got in verbal contact with her and realized the mistake. The second time, no verbal contact could be made and proper emergency personnel were alerted and arrived there before I could. They were able to use the lock box provided on her door, and with contact to Alert1, they could get inside to her immediately. Thankfully, she was fine.
We cannot put a price on the security that having Alert1 brings. Everyone at Alert 1, whom we have spoken to, has been very kind and helpful. The only problem was that in practicing answering the phone, he could hear but sometimes, I could hear his voice through the window, but not through the phone. It wouldn't have worked if I wasn't home. Sometimes in the trials with the operator, he had a hard time understanding them and we were only 30 feet or so through one thin plasterboard wall. He was also confused about being asked the address since he doesn't live here all the time. He is hard of hearing and is easily confused. The technicians I talked to send it back were very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend the setup for people who are less confuse and hard of hearing. I purchased Alert1 for my Mother who resides in Colorado; I am in Georgia. We were worried about her as she is 84 years old and lives alone. Although she is considerably in good health for her age, her age also leads us to be concerned if something were to happen. She needed help getting the system set up and it took awhile for my sister to get time off to go help her. After the system had been activated within the first week, she received a call from customer service to ask if there was a problem with the system (which there was not). Once they did get it activated, she pushed the button and Alert 1 answered in a very timely manner.
About two or three weeks later, her pendant broke. When she was trying to get it out of her bra, she set it off. Alert1 responded. She told the operator what had happened. The operator ordered her a replacement pendant right then. Within a matter of days, she had a new one. Being 2500 miles away from her, I am very thankful for Alert1's response and their excellent customer service. My mind is at ease. Thank you, Alert1!
