Kimberly of Hanahan SC (4/23/04):
In January of 2004, I had a Capitol one credit card stolen from my vehicle. I was not aware of the situation until I received my credit card statement. I had recently paid off 100% of my estimated $1900.00 credit debt with Capitol One, and was astonished that I was being charged with $3542.90 of transactions. Transactions that I did NOT create, nor did I authorize.

I IMMEDIATELY reported this. Initially, the service reps were kind and helpful. Well, needless to say... that did not last for long. I could spend hours telling you my story, and the daily nightmare that I have lived and endured (still pending I might add) through this unbelievable experience.

The long and short of it all: In America, we are "innocent until proven guilty." Capitol One Credit Card Company does not subscribe to this theory. Capitol One has branded me "guilty" and has forced me to prove my innocence in this matter. Through my own hours of labor, investigation, stress, and financial detriment, I have not only discovered who made these fraudulent charges on my account... I have handed the suspect to them.

Still, Capitol One is holding me responsible for these fraudulent charges on my account. They have attached this to my credit report. I received a letter from another creditor of mine today stating that "the credit terms on my account have been reviewed and will be changing on June 1, 2004." Through further in inquiry it was explained to me that my interest rate on my card will soon be raised by SIX POINTS due to "Serious Delinquincy, and Credit 'Charge Offs'. Go Figure...

I am at my absolute wits end. I see no end to this HORRIBLE injustice. I will not rest until I am vindicated of this, however, the credit history that I have worked so hard for to achieve...has been DESTROYED.

Kimberly should retain an attorney.
