I never lived in a house with propane until this rental. IT'S BEEN AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE DEALING WITH AMERIGAS IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA!!! From day 1 it was a pain, was over charged and put on auto debit. Eventually they cut me a check after I got to the right person who indeed admitted what happened was wrong. This was on move in...Now fast forward to 10mo later I paid for an additional 75gals on the 1st. Was told be delivered on 6th, that day came and went. I called. The entire story changed to, "We have 7-10 business days"!! So the 12th..Today would be last day!! What do ya know..They don't show AGAIN!! NOW THE STORY IS .."WE HAVE 10-15 BUSINESS DAYS"!!! I'm BEYOND frustrated and I have some real choice words for these idiots not suitable for this review!!! RUN RUN RUN..DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!! THAT'S A PROMISE!!

Paid upfront for a tank of gas. Tank driver reported I had to have a new gas valve because of corrosion so he would not fill my gas tank. Service guy came out a couple of days later could not find anything wrong with my gas valve said it was in perfect condition!!!! He told me as he was already out. I had small amount of corrosion on a valve wheel and some condensation in the gauge that shows you how much gas is in your tank, he said neither parts needed to be replaced but as he was there, he would do them!
When I called AmeriGas to find out when they were going to back out to fill my tank I was told by the oversea customer service center that I did not have enough money on my account to have my gas tank filled!!!! They charged me $445 for the service callout that I did not need. The two parts that he changed came to $35 he was there no more than 20 minutes! I tried to resolve this problem with the overseas customer service team with no luck after hours and hours on the phone. I have now put it in the hands of my Discover card as I paid over $650 and never received a drop of gas. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are very fraudulent!!!!

We changed from Amerigas because when they were bought out their rates increased a lot and then they started charging us a rental fee for the rusty old tank that was over 20 years old. We switched companies and they keep sending me an overdue bill saying they delivered gas when in fact 8 months earlier they removed the tank from our property. If I could give them -100 stars I would. Their policies and practices are on the verge of unethical. My account was sold to them from the original company I had my gas tank installed with. If it weren't for thousands of dollars standing in the way of cutting attachment with these lying bastards I would have three years ago. I will though, eventually. But until then I'm going to tell you all to AVOID THIS COMPANY COMPLETELY. I have many reasons why I say this, but I'm not going to type all day. This company will nickel and dime you to death. The surcharges are ridiculous. They will even charge you $3 for paper billing. I never received an email statement from them so was unaware I owed a tank rental and was charged a $30 late fee. I wanted to switch to paper, hoping I'd receive the bill that way but was informed I’d have to pay a $3 fee for that. Their propane prices are higher than anyone else’s. I will be buying a tank (not from them) so I can shop for better prices. Then it will be good riddance AmeriGas.

They have refused to fix a faulty tank for the past 4 years. The tank has a faulty meter that gets stuck in the full position. The tank displays as full but is empty. Thus we run out of fuel yearly in the dead of winter. Every time this happens we call and ask them To fix the problem. They never do and continue to fill the broken tank. Today we are switching to a local company. Good riddance Amerigas.

I am not sure how this company is still in business. I tried to get Propane delivery in Montana. I called their 800 number and talked to a person in **, barely understood English and did not understand a household in Montana that runs; heat, water heater, dryer and insert on propane and that I could not run out. I was told that it would take 1-10 days to get delivery. I asked for him to specify what date they would come out and if it was more than 3-4 days out I would go with another company. He told me that at that point he could not tell me that information, but to call back tomorrow. Today is now tomorrow and I wasted my time with another man in ** who went through the exact same rehearsed script as yesterday. I was frustrated because he would not listen to me and I asked to speak to a supervisor and he would not let me. So I cancelled my order with them and will never deal with this company again.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with AmeriGas, and I must say it was one of the most frustrating encounters I've ever had with a utility company. First and foremost, their customer service is abysmal. I attempted to contact them regarding a billing issue, and it felt like I was talking to a brick wall. The representatives were unhelpful, rude, and seemed disinterested in resolving my concerns. It's as if they have no regard for customer satisfaction.
The billing system itself is a disaster. I received an inexplicably high bill, and when I tried to dispute it, I was met with bureaucratic red tape and a lack of transparency. It's clear that Amerigas prioritizes squeezing every last penny out of its customers rather than providing fair and accurate billing. Moreover, their service reliability is laughable. I've experienced multiple gas outages without any prior warning or explanation. This lack of communication is not only inconvenient but also raises serious safety concerns. It's shocking that a company entrusted with providing such a crucial utility can be so careless.
To make matters worse, the prices are exorbitant for the subpar service they offer. It's infuriating to pay such high rates for a service that consistently fails to meet even the most basic expectations. In conclusion, I would strongly advise anyone considering Ameri Gas to look elsewhere. The frustration, inconvenience, and lack of professionalism exhibited by this company are simply not worth the headaches. Save yourself the trouble and find a gas provider that values its customers and provides the service they deserve.

I have never had such a terrible experience with any company in all my life. They have worn me to a frazzle trying to communicate with them. I have spend hours on the phone waiting for mostly nonsensical replies, misinformation or outright lies. They could not fulfill a delivery because they said the driveway had snow/ice on it. I had received other deliveries that day. I then ordered a 1 day urgent delivery as my tank was empty. After practically daily calls, lasting hours and promises that the truck would show up that very same day or at least within 24 hours, I finally got the propane 8 days later.
They charged 4.99 a gallon and have done that for the last 3 deliveries. I checked with the competition and their price was 2.99. Is this gauging or what? When querying the charge the rep. told they were Amerigas and their competitors had different prices. What a reply. Come April they can take their tank and good riddance.

I would like to give them zero star. I have been a faithful customer for over 10 years. How do they show their appreciation: 1. By raising their price to double of other companies. 2. Demanding that I fill my tank complete each time I make a purchase 3. Having customer service that literally do not speak English, and I cannot understand any of them. 4. Charging you 2.65% if you pay with your credit card. I can go on with other things but I'm going to limit to just this. During my last 10 years of doing service with them, NONE OF THE ABOVE existed.
Within the last few years they did a complete turnaround and they regards to anything. THIS. I will be finishing up my last tank delivery and will 100% find a company that cares about their customer, allows you to pay with a Credit card without fees, LETS YOU purchase how much propane you need, not force you to get 100 gallons delivery at the most expensive price and more important, an American company whose employees we can understand and not sound like foreign robots.
I tried to have them deliver 50 gallons only which they said they could but at a much higher cost. So basically they want to get their money from you either way. I was on the phone with a local company who said they have been getting many of Amerigas former customers who are dissatisfied with Amerigas. And that they refuse to pick up the old tanks from their former customers so just beware. The person I spoke with said, "You need to call the environment dept." I forget the exact name...but in either case, if you are reading this because you are considering using AMERIGAS... DON'T DO IT...check out your local propane companies... Do not get into any business dealings with Amerigas or you will be sorry. You have other options so please check it out. As for me. I will be monitoring my propane & will switch out of Amerigas as soon as my propane is low enough.

If I could give them zero stars I would! I’ve had nothing but problems with AmeriGas. From the drivers complaining about delivering to the customer service. They raise the prices on you without warning, they schedule deliveries and don’t show up. They raise fees on you and even though you don’t approve or sign anything they still make you pay those fees. I finally had enough and decided to cancel my services with them.
It’s been 2 months of me trying to get them to pick up their tank. They schedule a pick up then never show up. No call or anything. When I call them to see why they didn’t show up they tell me there was never a pick up scheduled or the scheduled date is weeks from now. None of the customer service reps know what’s going on or how to fix the problem. They have even put me on hold for over 25 minutes and from there they hang up on me. I would advise anyone thinking of signing with this company to stay far away from them. You will regret getting involved with them.

They seem to work from script and do not know how to deviate from it.
This company does not seem to care about their customers at all. We have taken off work to be available for scheduled appointments and they were a no show. AmeriGas has been the most useless company I have ever dealt with when it comes to home utilities. We were on the automatic plan where they monitor the tank…We ran out of gas 3 days ago and have had no central heat during 17 degree nights. I ordered an urgent refill the first day, paid the fee and still have no gas. Customer service keeps making promises that it would be “today” and it never shows. I have missed work as well because someone has to be here to receive it. As soon as they come to fill the tank I am cancelling further service and moving to Tiger Fuel. AmeriGas, do better. People are suffering in this cold.

When I first contacted AmeriGas to set up an account in June of 2023, and later, in August of 2023 when I was working through the account set-up process. I was very favorably impressed. The Customer Service agents were "on-shore" (the first woman I spoke to was in Oklahoma), they were helpful and accessible. One person actually gave me her email address so we could exchange paperwork and get things done. In November, that's when the trouble started. I was having trouble accessing my online account. There was a billing error. Then, the latest problem was (is) with a propane delivery. Every time I called, it was clear and obvious that I had called into an off-shore call center (there was constant background noise, multiple people having conversations, English was not the native language, and I always have to ask, "What was your name again and how do you spell that?").
The people were polite and gave the impression they were trying to help. But I got nothing more than apologies and empty promises. It took three months to fix my online account access. It took two weeks to remove the billing error. I deliberately called well in advance for a propane delivery (I had 45% remaining in my tank - they recommend you call at 30%). I have been waiting for 10 days and still have no confidence they will delivery any time soon. Note: a different, local propane provider I called said, if I call in the morning, I can get a delivery on the same day - when there is high demand, they deliver on the 2nd or 3rd day.
I chose AmeriGas because they are selling me propane at the rock-bottom price of $1.79 a gallon. The local provider I called is charging $1 more per gallon. But I will GLADLY pay the extra price in order to talk to someone in an office 20 minutes from my home and get reliable, friendly, timely service. I have had to lower my thermostat to conserve fuel for the last 4 days. I'm tired of waiting in the cold for AmeriGas to show up. Their people are half-way around the world and have NO CONNECTION with their customers here in the U.S. Like so many others, after this disaster plays out, I will have nothing to do with AmeriGas in the future.

To say this company has poor customer service is a massive, massive understatement. This is now the Third time in a row they've allowed us to run out of propane. When the stove stops working, I call immediately, and you would think since we are on automatic refill that they would consider it an emergency. 3 days now with no hot water and no cooking. It's not possible to get a hold of anyone in the United States, just Asian call centers. I spoke with another company today and they're going to come out and put in a new tank. AmeriGas can come get there's whenever they want, but they're not getting another dime out of me. I can confidently say that this is one of the worst companies you could ever hope to deal with. I can't help but wonder if they would be this incompetent if we lived up north and are heating depended on our liquid propane as well?

Horrible customer service! They truly don't care and don't listen to you! Monday 1/15 They had a random delivery attempt and it looks like they filled my father's rv/trailer tank but turned off his gas. We are assuming maybe they smell something and since my dad wasn't home they locked it. But nobody can confirm anything. Service Tag said to call next day to set up to reinstate service. Always current on bill, always pay on time. They told us earliest delivery was in 4 days.
On the 19th, I asked to speak to supervisor since it’s winter, senior citizen leaves alone. The lady cold transfer me to a different department in mid sentence and it was a voicemail asking me to enter a phone number. I had to call back and then was transferred to a supervisor. Sup took info told me same thing, earliest would be in four days. But that she would put request for service department to call me back to schedule something sooner. But to our dismay we never got a callback all week and they never showed up because appointment was never put in their system!!!! So when speaking again to another service rep this morning 1/19 she said earliest was 1/23! I asked to speak to sup again was transferred to sup Alex.
I was on/off hold for another 30 minutes. Supposedly he submitted a request to escalate and expedite the service check to turn gas back on. I asked what time is his delivery for the 23rd he couldn’t confirm and how could I trust that this is even is happening at this point because it’s 6pm pacific standard time and still no callback from service team or escalations. Your company disabled & turned off his tank for what I am assuming is for safety reasons (and I’m grateful for this) but come on guys what you are doing now is simply wrong and criminal to keep a senior citizen without gas during winter when this is his place of living! Why is your supervisor team and customer service so horrible that it truly shows that they don’t care how they treat us and no follow through since no one in your company is holding them accountable!! I am still waiting for a real competent manager that cares to call me back to resolve this issue.

They have let me go without propane 2 winters in a row and always have an excuse or are just simply rude when you finally reach someone who is not in an East Indian call center. I want so badly to leave this company but they make it so expensive to leave that you are basically held hostage! This all started when AmeriGas bought out my local propane delivery company. I had a decades old relationship with the company and was able to actually visit the "store" to make payments and ask questions about my account. Fast forward to this horrible company which has outsourced all of its customer facing support out of country. There is no local access and with the cost of replacement of my current inground tank, I am pretty much held hostage to this company. There is no way to get any idea when they will deliver gas, and when they do they come up with lies on why they can not deliver.
Recently I was told they could not deliver because the road was closed. I live on a major road in my county and the road never closes. On the day I watched cars go north and south without any issues and not even a one set of emergency lights. If you are deciding between AmeriGas or another delivery company go with the the other company. This monster of company is awful and not for the hostage customers they have would probably be out of business.

Amerigas is HORRIFIC-DO NOT FALL PREY TO THESE VULTURES. After leaving Amerigas due to higher than average prices and poor service, I needed them to pick up their tank. I couldn't use another propane supplier if they couldn't put their tank on the pad where the Amerigas tank still sits. I had to create a new pad, run new gas lines in order to start with Kamp's. I've called Amerigas to pick up their tank over 50 times over the years. Here we are, 3 1/2 years later, and the tank still sits on my original concrete pad. Now when I call customer service, which is a call center, not the Amerigas local office, I ask to be transferred to a supervisor, who also have also hung up on me or created a false promise with a pick up date.. then Amerigas doesn't show to the scheduled appointment.
I am trying to do some septic work, that cannot be done with the tank in its current location. I have escalated to Amerigas daily. Reports get filed, emails get sent, promises get made, apologies sound sincere.. and then nothing. I have no recourse and my septic problem cannot get fixed due to Amerigas ineptitude. When we bought our house, there was a 500 gallon underground propane tank that was set up with a 30 year lease to buy (life of tank). The tank was about 10yrs old when we bought and had to assume the contract. Around 2012 Amerigas bought the contract. We had no choice or say in the matter. Set up for price-lock and auto delivery. The price-lock was more than the rate should have been. When our contract to force us to but Amerigas was up in May 2023, they refused to give us papers so we could get a new supplier, worse, they auto-bill for the price lock ($99) in June 2023. Refused to pay say I did not want it. (They say NOT an option-guessing it's for life.)
The next month got a late fee for not paying the $99 price lock. Made multiple calls, waited MANY hours and tossed around, promised paperwork and emailed information (NONE of which materialized). So now, can't get delivery unless we pay almost $500 for the $99 plus $36/mo. late fee until now PLUS $149.99 cancellation fee for NOT renewing the price-lock. Oh, and BTW, they arbitrarily mandated a 1,000 gallon year minimum or you get charged for anything less than that (ours was about $275). We plan to have it dug up and a new tank put in this summer that we will OWN outright and get a new supplier. These people are CROOKS and EVIL.

I would choose to not move to my new residence based on this company. Customer service sucks. The supervisors suck, especially Haley. I’ve never had a utility not offer billing and demand cash up front. I’m getting paid next week but I might freeze to death before then. They set it up so there are added charges left and right. On Google a representative from AmeriGas replied to my complaint, gave me an email to talk to a resolution specialist. I wrote them 5 days ago and have not gotten a reply. After constant issues with the national, corporate office, I’m ensuring that others know about this company. If the business was local and privately run by the great team here, I’d easily give them 5 stars. However, what could be seen as nothing short of unethical business practices by the corporation overshadows all of the good done by the dedicated staff throughout Wyoming. Dealing with corporate online or over the phone is by far the most frustrating experience we’ve encountered with any business EVER! Aside from the clear lack of customer service or ability to assist customers, the corporation has most recently started price gouging. I felt bad constantly calling our local man’s personal phone number to get good service. I decided to give online ordering another shot.
Please be aware that we are on autopay with our invoices being paid 1-2 days after delivery. The going rate and what they publish online in our area is $2.39/gallon. We were charged $4.06/gallon. When we called to inquire, they held to that being the correct price despite neighbors and other friends being charged much less. We finally started working with the regional manager and he was making efforts to get us on a price protection agreement. In the meantime, as temperatures plummet below zero and we’re now at 30%, we reached out again and were quoted $4.69/gallon.
After hearing this is happening to numerous people and reading other negative reviews, we’ve accepted that while we adore the local staff, we cannot justify paying such outrageous prices and are not willing to support such an unethical and uncaring company. We found a local, privately owned company that services this area. They will be delivering a 500 gallon tank and propane at $2.14/gallon on Thursday (2 day turn around). I would highly discourage selecting Amerigas if you have other options. The corporation should be charged and held accountable for what they are doing to their customers.

We are on a will call basis yet they will show up and fill up without requesting service. Received our last bill and discovered that they charged us 4.83 per gallon. At the time national average is 3.10 per gallon. Have dealt with this for many years and just want them to be held accountable for their actions. I do not recommend then in any way.

On Dec13 I went to bed with heat, I woke up with no heat. I go out and look at my tanks...One tank shows empty the other tank shows 80%...Why am I out of gas? I schedule a delivery Dec 21. The gas gets delivered...I am not home (had no idea when they were showing up because they gave me a 5 day window). I get a text saying my gas was delivered....I think yay I am good to go, but to my surprise they had locked my tanks because my tanks were empty (again one tank showed 80%). I did not go look at my tanks..Why would I...I received the text so I am thinking something is wrong with my boiler.
I call a technician to come and look at my boiler. He checked and then went to check on the tanks and saw the note on the tanks saying they were locked so he couldn't do anything. So I call on Dec 26 to make an appointment to have them unlock my tanks..The incompetent folks that answer the phones said my appointment was on Dec 30 8-12 but I received an email saying it was on Tuesday January 2nd. There is no way I would have accepted that date when I was on the phone because I am a school teacher and that was my first day back to work after winter break...So now I had to take off work.
I was told I was the first appointment at 8:30 but by 10 still no technician. I started calling trying to get a hold of someone who could actually do something which as you know is impossible because this company doesn't want customers to talk to managers (incompetent workers). The technician FINALLY showed up at noon. He was literally here for 10 min and I received a bill for over 300$ for that ten minutes. The bill states 99$ for dispatch fee, 220$ for gas leak check!!!!
When you give a window of 5 days as to when they are going to deliver gas HOW CAN YOU EXPECT FOR THE CUSTOMER TO BE HOME???? So if the customer is not home then they get fined/billed $319 because the technician had to come back. I could understand fining the customer if they said they would be home but they weren't but I had NO IDEA when they were coming to deliver my gas....If I had known, I would have been there.

We contacted AmeriGas and I paid for 100 gallons on Dec 14, 2023 and was told because our tank was so low our delivery was a priority and would arrive the next day. It didn't. They said, "Oh sorry. It will be there Sat the 16th," it wasn't. I called again and was told it would be delivered on the 21st, guess what? It wasn't. Called again, "Oh sorry. It will arrive on the 26th," it wasn't. Called to say, "We have no frigging gas and because you've never shown up or even called to tell us we had to be rescheduled we can't get another company because they are booked for 2 or 3 weeks and you have our money still." They said it was escalated again and would be the 28th, I called to verify and guess what? They don't have me on the schedule even though for the first time we got a prerecorded message saying it was supposed to be delivered today.
So no gas, no cooking or warm showers but they have our money and it will take 3-4 weeks for a refund. Do yourself a favor and go with a different company, they have no customer service and lie about everything, like drivers or scheduling not having direct numbers to be contacted, has to be email, then another agent says they will call them and get back to you, which they never do of course, I have no idea how these people still have customers, at least in Central Texas.

I was initially serviced by Heritage Propane in Marshville, NC in October of 1991. I did not even know that the company had be bought out because the trucks remained the same for several years. It’s December 2023. I’m a 66 y/o woman… When I first attempted to contact Heritage Propane, several years back, I was answered by Amerigas. Years back they overfilled my tank because the driver, while on his cell phone, overfilled my tank. Knock on my door to advise me they were bringing me a overflow tank to relieve the pressure. By this point, no one would have know who my server was because of their lack of maintaining the tank. Rustler tank, unable to read ‘who’ my server was! Then, no pick up!
Next fill, the delivery driver says she smells a leak. I called the local fire department to standby until they came and checked out any leak. It was with gas order. Again, overflow tank was still attached! They claim no leak and charged $156 for trip charge. If I didn’t pay on the spot, they refused to restore my gas. I called to remind them this was their problem, because of 3 years of the overflow tank. Also the fire marshal was coming to inspect tank. The non English speaking CS said it was my responsibility??? Where’s the record of this occurrence? This has been back and forth for several years.
They claimed I’m on a reduced rate. I checked prices from other providers to find out I was overpaying. When I confronted them, told them to remove me from the program, they informed me it would be $159.90 (magic #) to get off the program. I then told them to come get gas, I was done. They claimed it was their tank. I never started business with them, this was a transaction without any notice at all! Failure to maintain the integrity of the tank, verified by the Unión County Fire Marshal, plus charging annual tank rental? $100. It goes in and on. They then tell me to leave the company will cost me $189 to release the tank, recover any gas.
Please help me get rid of these people. I have NO SIGNED PAPERWORK BINDING ME TO THIS COMPANY!! The last fill I prepaid $400+ and they only filled $378 and do you think they credited me for the lack of a 80% fill! They are ripping off this entire county!! These surcharge fees a bogus, that came from the original Mgr from Heritage Propane after I called him when they released him from his job. Ruthless crooks!!

My experience with AmeriGas has been overwhelmingly negative, primarily due to their abysmal customer service. This review is an account of my frustrating journey with them, which I hope serves as a cautionary tale for potential customers. Firstly, the delivery service has been a major point of contention. I've had to physically chase down their drivers to ensure my propane tanks were refilled—a situation that's as ridiculous as it is unacceptable. Even a technician acknowledged that the driver for my area has been a consistent problem for many customers, yet, bafflingly, the company has taken no action against him.
Financial disputes further marred my experience. I was overcharged for the propane, given the size and number of my tanks. When I reached out to their customer service for a resolution, the disrespect I encountered was astonishing. The representative not only dismissed my request to adjust my payments but also insinuated that I was financially incapable of making payments, suggesting I seek government assistance. This was particularly offensive considering my history of always paying on time, often early.
The most disheartening aspect, however, has been the consistently disrespectful customer service over the phone. Each call seemed to escalate in discourtesy and unhelpfulness. Representatives were not just uncooperative but also blatantly rude, making the entire process of seeking assistance a dreadful experience. This disregard for basic customer service etiquette made me feel undervalued and frustrated.
I've had to email corporate to get any semblance of service, which is absurd given that I've always been a reliable customer in terms of payment. Despite my financial diligence, I've been met with nothing but contempt and inefficiency. To those in the upper valley of New Hampshire or anywhere in the state considering AmeriGas, I implore you to look elsewhere for your propane needs. The level of disrespect, rudeness, and sheer incompetence in customer service I've encountered is reason enough to avoid AmeriGas. It's clear they have little regard for customer satisfaction or service quality.

After contacting Amerigas for a delivery, I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and professionalism of a team of gentlemen who came to my aid. An employee named Frank examined my tank and said they would not fill it up due to a safety issue. The tank was rusting out and Frank placed an order for a new one ASAP. The new tank arrived with another employee named, Matthew. While Matthew was removing the old tank, a truck with Frank showed up to fill it with gas. After filling the tank, Matthew performed a leak test on the new tank and then came into the house and ignited the range to make sure everything was safely working. The clear purpose of this refusal is to allow them to create compounding serial late charges. The initial quote I received was $810. When I explained to the woman that was a lot more than the other companies I had called, she said they could waive the setup fee. She told me I would only need to pay for 250 gallons of gas and the tank rental which was $66.
I imagine it was after tax, but my total was $689 and some change that day, which I paid in full. She then told me I might need to pay a couple dollars extra for any extra pipe past a certain amount. (I can't recall how many feet of pipe was included) On the day of setup, I was told I had to pay $24 extra for extra pipe, which I also paid. The guy put in 25 gallons of propane that day and told me in 2 days the rest of my propane would be delivered. It was a 500-gallon tank, however that was only because they didn't have 250-gallon tanks. I had paid for 250 gallons, so I assumed in two days I would receive 225 gallons.
A week later I get a bill for $59 and some change. I have called approximately 9 to 10 times within the last 2 days. I have spoken to four people. Four or five people have answered the phone and never even said hello, but you could hear the background noise of other calls. Each person I spoke with has given me a different reason as to why I have a $59 charge. And each of them keep reiterating that my bill was $773 and I only paid $713. No matter how many times I try to tell them that I paid in full upfront for $250 gallons but only received 225 and that my setup fee was waived they keep insisting that my bill was 773 and I only paid 713. We have tried in the past to purchase our tank to get away from this company we have been with over 20 years but they will not allow it. This is ridiculous and unfair. We should be able to go to another company that will perhaps be cheaper and have better customer service.

AmeriGas sent a contractor to our property to trench for a gas line to our generator. The contractor brought a backhoe that was grossly oversized for the job. Due to using improper equipment & overall negligence, they caused significant damage to our property, including cracking septic pipe, running into and moving A/C unit, destroying grade, damaging an unreasonably large area of grass, breaking underground storm water drains. I found out my septic line was cracked after sewage backed up into my house - the contractor never even told us. He just covered it back up with dirt. I have tried to resolve this directly with Amerigas for months. I have a case filed with them. Every time I call, they say someone will contact me within 3-5 business days. No one ever does.
About 2 weeks ago when I called, the representative told me that it doesn't look like anyone has even looked at the case. I've asked for contact information to who is responsible for helping resolve claims, contact information for someone in the legal department - I've been told repeatedly they do not have this- someone will contact me. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor or someone who can help me with contact information - I was told they do not have supervisors in the call center. I'm trying to do everything I can to resolve this in a non-litigious way, but Amerigas won't even contact me to discuss. I've sent over all the information to Amerigas: pictures, invoices, etc. If someone at Amerigas could please reach out to me to help resolve this, I would really appreciate it.

Only to receive a texted message that my gate was locked. It's first of all because they are not following my instructions, I have a little bridge that leads to my main house and it cannot support the weight of the propane tank, i have said this multiple times to customer service who i have no idea where they are even located. Every time now I get a text message that delivery problem. There is no communication with this company and your hands are tied because they own the tank. To change companies required me to dig up an existing tank. This is insane wasting so much time, only to end up perhaps running out of propane. I have been on the phone now for 1 hour and 45 minutes trying to resolve this issue. I am still on hold.

Amerigas provided us propane for our gas logs. They charge us $90 a year for tank rental because we don't use enough gas. We have called numbers of times to paint our rusty tank, but no avail. The tank was so rusty that the hinge on the lid rusted in two when I last checked the gas level. We once waited 4 months for a refill and had to pay for a leak test before being refilled. With this continued bad service, I elected to terminate their service and go with a competitive company. They emailed me it would be a $199.99 tank removal fee. After they finally came for the tank, they also added a $99.99 dispatch fee to my final invoice to get their rusty tank. They just seem to fall over themselves giving bad service and providing customer irritation.

CALLED Amerigas for a Monday propane delivery. No show. Finally arrived late Tuesday afternoon. Before pumping the tech said they were told to do a Leak Check Test. Said the company is making them do them once a year. According to their website, WE need to request a Leak Check Test IF, by lawful guidelines, we need new piping installed, there is an interruption in service, a suspected leak or the gas has been turned off. NONE APPLIED. The tech turned off the gas to fill the tank. He even offered twice to relight the unit. We were originally quoted: $343.74. Next day we received an online bill: $466.27. The Leak Check Test was $140.00 plus fees and taxes, (yes, the math does not add up).
In addition, we got dinged for everything under the sun including a Will Call convenience fee because we CALLED instead of going online to order. There is an office nearby, but accepts no Walk-ins. Called customer service and asked for an explanation for the quote discrepancy and was told the system doesn't know if we need a Leak Check or not at the time of placing the quote, but they can set up a payment plan. What business sells you a service then gives you a bill after the fact for more than the agreed price? SCAM!!!

Amerigas bought out Energy North a couple years ago and I had an Energy North tank, so I now have to use Amerigas to fill my tank. Energy North never charged me rent for the tank and was reasonable on their propane price, but Amerigas is charging $274 annually for tank rental. The State of NH tracks average fuel prices in the state and lists propane today at $3.58 a gallon. I just ordered from Amerigas and it was a whopping $4.12 a gallon. An incredible 54 cent per gallon difference, resulting in me just paying $243 too much for my propane on top of the tank rental I never paid before. I'll have to fill up again at the end of the winter, so looking at Amerigas costing me about $800 a year too much. And since the state "average" includes Amerigas' elevated price, even that $3.58 average is artificially inflated. DO NOT INSTALL AN AMERIGAS TANK OR USE THEIR SERVICE IF YOU CAN AVOID THEM!!!

I was told they couldn't move the tanks onto my new residence but they could come take their tanks from the old and send me a check for the unused propane. I didn't receive a check, what I received was a bill with a balance owed, because they're charging me to send their employees out to pick up their tanks and take them back to their place of business. Their delivery price is around 2-3 times the current average propane price, when asked about that they said it was the delivery cost. The problem there is I was already paying about $20+ for delivery, training, safety, etc. Then it was the credit card fees were a business cost passed to consumers, not anymore, that is now an additional charge of 2.65% to the payment. Propane is unregulated by the government. I'm not able to switch out my tank as it's in an illegal spot that no one will service, but was grandfathered in through the company Amerigas bought. Check your local companies for better prices and services before giving your money to investors. They care about profit and most of the positive reviews are actually written by their employees. You will notice a pattern that the only positive reviews for Amerigas come from posters that only rated Amerigas and maybe 1 other business. Then no more activity.

Obviously the tank is too old and need to be replaced. Due to the size of the tank, there is no rental fee for the existing tank.
This morning I talked to the company, for last night, they already charged me for leak checking fee and service dispatch fee more than $320, for a new tank, I have to pay to rent and others fees like delivery fee, another service dispatch fee, installation fee etc. I never heard that utility company like PGE charge customers for equipment fee and fee to maintain the equipment. Customer should only pay for what they consume, both electricity and gas. There are too many additional fees from AmeriGas. So be careful before you sign the contract with them.

12 years ago when I first got service from AmeriGas, the company was local, you called and talked to local people, service charges and rental fees always stayed the same, when they said they would do something they did it, their customer service was excellent, absolutely loved the company.... Then, 7 or so years ago their customer service center became some place in India or maybe the Philippines, I presume, the service agents barely speak English, service charges and rental fees change constantly without notice, service agents lie, I've called 5 times in a single day before, spoke to 5 different representatives and got 5 different answers, finally got fed up with the company and called and canceled my service, was told as long as the tank was empty there would be no additional charges to my account and that my balance was $0, 3 months later they finally showed up to get the tank.
1 month later I got a bill for $150 for a pickup charge, of course I called to find out what was going on and was told that no I should have not received this charge and that they were filing a dispute and I could disregard the bill.... Here's where I should have been more proactive and called again to verify as I already knew this company is a joke.... 3 months later I get a bill for the same stupid pickup charge and now 3 months' worth of late fees, now it's been 3 weeks and 4 more calls, have talked to a "supervisor", late fees have been taken off but was told this is a legit charge and will soon go to collections if I don't pay them. Short story long, do not use this steaming pile of a company if you have other options, we bought our own tanks and are just taking them to town to have them filled ourselves, the 3 large tanks I bought were the same price as what their current annual rental fee is and I can get the propane cheaper elsewhere.

Amerigas provided a retail propane dispensing station to refill propane bottles at my place of business several years ago. Consistently, I observed that I never dispensed the amount of LP to the public before the tank was empty. After a temporary closing the business when Covid-19 emerged, and the governor ordered everyone to stay at home in April of 2020, with 40% tank level (@ 180gal.) I returned to the business location in late July to find that my 500 gallon tank was empty. I thought they must have pumped the tank for outstanding balance of @ $217, or there may be a leak.
I discussed the issue with Amerigas and they told me that they couldn't check for leaks with an empty tank and that I would have to order the minimum delivery of 100 gallons. So, I ordered 100 gallons and paid by card in advance along with the outstanding balance and I asked that they check the Amerigas owned equipment for leaks before filling. They delivered the propane and did a leak check with soap and water in a spray bottle. They reported no leaks were present. The same afternoon I was smelling gas and called to report it.
While waiting for the technician, I FOUND THE LEAK MYSELF and it was significantly pressurized such that soap suds could not indicate a leak. ?!!? They sent another technician and he said that he could not repair the leak because he did not have the "special brass fitting" and it would have to order it from China. They charged me (2) $70 service calls that day and another $144 for a leak test. I pumped 44 of the 100 gallons and the tank was empty again. After 1 YEAR, I had the equipment replaced with Suburban Propane so that I could try to salvage my client base and continue to be a retailer.
Another 2 YEARS has passed and still not even a phone call or service call from Amerigas. This morning, after 3 YEARS of housing defective Amerigas equipment and losing most of my clients I discover that Amerigas shows a balance on my account of over $300 when I paid the account balance and the new delivery in advance, Strangely, there is no record of my payment of @ $517 to settle the total bill before the new delivery. This means I am purchasing larger amounts of propane at once. Once my tank got to 20% I placed an order online several days passed and no gas was delivered. I called the "local" office which is actually somewhere far from local, and asked for a delivery, I'm down to 15% now. They sent me an invoice for $793.65 for the propane and never changed the tank. Normally, the gas in my tank lasts for four months. This time, after one month, abruptly, it went to zero causing my family distress. However, I was willing to get credit for 3/4 of the bill to be fair, ($595) which they had by mistake given me $5.95 adjustment.
Then, they charge me for a tank renewal, which I can't commit to because of this ongoing issue, so they charge me late fees, more aggravation. I have a record of calling them 9 times, enduring lots of aggravation, and constantly being promised by their "Customer Advocate" (the joke of the century) agents that the credit was in process, but nothing happened. The invoice incurred many late fees while waiting for resolution. Finally, before filing two complaints to the Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General, I called one last time to see if they can resolve it, and after 45 minutes on the phone, Rose, the Supervisor, said, she looked at all the notes and couldn't figure out how she could give me credit. Mind you, the call center told me each time that they were "on the way!". No local number. I paid $300 for expedited service 24hr service. It has been three days, no gas yet. This company is focused on consolidation and growth, not customer service. Stay away at all costs.

Today, I was at home and someone began knocking forcefully on my front door. I had just gotten up so it took me a good 5-7 minutes to go outside and see who was knocking, although I thought they would have left by then. Nope. There was a grey coupe parked partly on my lawn and partly on the street and there was a man sitting behind the wheel. I approached the car and the man got out. I asked him if he had knocked on my door and he said he had. I asked him what he wanted and he said "I'm from AmeriGas and I'm checking meters". I noticed he was wearing a safety vest that said AmeriGas contractor. I said that I do not have propane. The man said "Oh. I know you don't have propane," to which I said "you walked around my house" and he said "yes".
I called Amerigas customer service to complain and they clearly did not want to hear anything I had to say.

We received our delivery of propane. Because Amerigas did not install our system they had to come out to inspect "at no charge". Then we got an additional bill for the inspection. After numerous calls to their support (location Philippines) which you can barely understand anyone you get on the phone, we got the credit to our account. Then we had to call back to get them to reverse the charges back to our credit card. What a nightmare. Still working on getting the credit back because every time we call they have a different excuse or the previous phone tech messed up. Changing companies on our next delivery for sure.

We recently rented a house, the owners had service with Amerigas. We were told to setup with them. We weren't even moved in and someone came out and tried to top off the tank (per company). We told them we didn't need gas yet and haven't set up our account yet. So the driver left. Next day home owner calls us and is mad because he received a bill for trip charges. Mind you no one asked them to come out they were just trying to sneak gas in where ever they could get away with it.
Fast forward 3 months and we still haven't set up service, mainly because it is used only for heat and it is June. They rang our doorbell at 7:30 am woke everyone in the house, and preceded to tell us if we didn't set up service they were locking the tank. We could care less about the lock, but it seems like they are trying to hold our tank hostage until we pay for gas we don't need. I don't respond well to bullies so I will be letting them know they can take their tank and shove it. My only pause about it is there is gas that has been paid for in that tank that they will be taking back with them. I feel like this is not how you go about trying to get new customers to continue using your service. Buyer beware!

We purchased a house with an existing propane tank from a local company and previous owners years ago. There was no telling how old the tank was and being new to anything gas, the old owners just said it was fine if we kept it. When we last had it filled, we were told that the old gas company had been sold to Amerigas. I asked if we could either purchase the tank or have it removed, but was told that we could not purchase it or if they came to dig it up, it would incur a fee. They said we should wait to have the tank picked up when near empty or else we'd incur a hazardous waste and transfer fee as well. So we left it.
Fast forward to when the tank was near empty as we also suspected a leak - we called to have it removed - about a year later. We dug it up OURSELVES and placed it at the curb - and there it sat for almost 2 months in the front of our house. I called several times, promised several dates for pick up, even getting a BILL for a service call when they sent someone to refill the tank instead of actually picking it up. It was then that I knew things would get worse.
When they finally DID come to get the tank, I received a BILL for the curbside pickup. I immediately called...AGAIN and was speaking to a call center in another country (Indonesia or Philippines maybe), trying to explain that the contract was in the old owner's name and at no point did they mention a pickup charge, only for digging it up - which we had done ourselves.
At no time did I get to ever speak with someone in one of their offices. I asked for a manager, they said they could only relay a message to one and they would then call me back - no one ever did. I called over and over, getting more bills and incurring INTEREST now, same thing, "So sorry, someone will call you about this, I apologize." I genuinely feel bad for these reps from overseas because they probably get irate people frustrated about this as well.
Fast forward to my last call - I FINALLY got a supervisor- also from overseas. They again apologized and said they'd escalate it and someone would call me but not to worry about the bill, late charges and interest. My last words to her were, "I've never been in collections and don't plan to end up there. This needs to be resolved, it's been months!" Her words, "Yes, I understand, no worries. I'll have my manager look at this so we can resolve it for you, I removed all the other charges. Give us a few days to fix this and thank you for your patience."
I just got a collections letter about the Amerigas bill from a company in Cali for over $200. I am infuriated and incensed to keep fighting it. It's no wonder they have only 1 star ratings everywhere. They are HORRIBLE. I'm glad I'm with a local company again who picks up my calls, has service people I can speak to directly and an office I can just walk into when I have an issue. Buy and shop local as they always say.

Amerigas is the worst company I've ever dealt with when it comes to utilities. While every call with their godforsaken call center assures me I'm a "valued customer," I haven't had propane since May 12. Every time someone has come to repair or refill, it takes 3-4 days, and I still don't have working gas. When our hot water and gas stove stopped working, I paid for expedited service for them to refill the tank, which I didn't get. When I finally got them to show up, on May 16, I was told to schedule a repair. It was scheduled for May 22. They didn't show up. They "fixed" the tank on May 24, but couldn't refill it until today, May 27. Today, the deliveryman couldn't get the gas to work, despite trying for an hour. He put in a service request and I called. Soonest they can come is June 1.
Every time I call they "escalate" my request and "expedite" what they can, and they still come at the very last moment. My gas delivery could have come 3 days ago if it had actually been expedited, and this problem would have been found sooner, but nope, that's not the way they operate. I didn't even know a temporary tank was a possibility until I started calling around for new service, and another company suggested it. I asked Amerigas customer service if they could bring one, and from what I can tell, even if they could, they still wouldn't be able to do it before my next appointment. Why? No idea.
At this point I'm trying to saturate the Internet with as many bad reviews as I can. I have small kids and don't have any hot water, can't do dishes or laundry, and we're heating water in the microwave to bathe. I can't wait to switch companies. I won't be happy until there's either a class action lawsuit or they go out of business. Absolutely the worst company I've ever worked with.

I told him that’s impossible as we hadn’t had a delivery since October and to please come back and check the gauge and fill the propane tank. They refused. We ran out of propane five weeks later. They left us without hot water for three days. Finally came out. Said there was a problem. Locked the tank, said he plays the work order and someone would contact us in an hour. I found after two hours the work order has not been placed. They have no idea what’s wrong with the tank and now they’re telling me that someone will come out within 48 hours to check the tank and that’s the best they’ll give me. They think that is acceptable to leave us for five days without hot water at their error and they just keep passing me to Department department telling me up they’ll be here within two days.
This is the second time that AmeriGas has left us without hot water and the last time it was five days as well. That’s what they consider expedited and this time they tried to charge me $450 to expedite it but after speaking to a few different people, they agreed that the fee should be waived. This is our last straw. This is the worst company. Do not use this company. You can never speak to anybody that knows what’s going on. November 2022 we ran out of propane fully. We are on an auto-fill program, they were aware our tank was below 25% (we were assured it will never be allowed to get that low) and they did not check on it even though online it stated we had been flagged about a month earlier for needing to be filled and a service call was initiated but never fulfilled. We subsequently ran out completely. After numerous calls to the out-of-country and inefficient phone tree and being told "they will come fill it tomorrow" but that not happening day after day.
We had been out of propane (hot water and the ability to cook) for a week. So I drove to the local branch (which they told us they have no phone number for) and I got a delivery driver to give me his supervisor's cell #. LOOOONG story short...she was shocked we had no propane and she calls the shots and it STILL took 2 more days to get a fill and the driver told us he had been flown in from a different state and drove from 1 hour south of us to fill our tank. After this ordeal it was clear AmeriGas is not a company that is being run well and their customers are not important to them, at least their residential customers.
So we canceled in January (after getting another company set up and our new tank delivered). Current situation: I keep getting emailed statements that say I have $0 balance and $0 due but then I get paper statements saying I am "late" and have a balance due. When I log in to Amerigas online this is what I see: Activity Balance 03/09/2023 Late Fee Issued $36.00 $0.00 PAST DUE! Due Date 01/30/2023 01/05/2023 Monthly Statement $129.00 -$36.00 01/05/2023 Payment Received -$100.00 -$36.00 12/07/2022 Payment Received -$100.00 $64.00 PAST DUE! Due Date 12/30/2022 12/05/2022 Monthly Statement $93.00 $164.00 11/26/2022 Incl in mo payment program $752.94 $164.00 11/07/2022 Payment Received -$100.00 -$588.94 Paid 11/03/2022 Monthly Statement $93.00 -$488.94.
We gave our 30-day cancellation notice on Jan 15th, 2023 per our agreement even though they broke our agreement when they failed to service our tank. I have been paying $100/mo on auto-pay for years when our program costs $93/mo, thus the large credit in Nov 2022. Their now empty propane tank is still on our property.

I read lots of bad AmeriGas reviews, but gave them a try anyway. AmeriGas gives us the best rate and fulfills our delivery requests within a week, which is just fine since 20% in the tank represents 1 month of fuel. I monitor their propane prices by clicking "Request a Delivery" on their website to view the current price, but only complete an order once rates drop.
I also plan for the tank to be nearly empty by August in order to fill during their "50 cents off" sale. I now had to file a case for a claims court and am going through the Better Business Bureau for help and to report this situation. In short, DO NOT USE AMERIGAS.

This company is the worst. They don't care how long you go without propane. My sister and brother-in-law are elderly in their '70s. They were supposed to have a delivery February 17th. It is now March 9th and they are still waiting every day.... They keep saying, "You're on the priority list." "You're on the priority list. You're getting it today for sure." I even called and they were very snotty to me because I wasn't an authorized user. And told me I had no right to ask them why the propane wasn't delivered. The thing is she rents the tank from them so she can't even go anywhere else. These people are the worst. I would like to know what we can do about it. Is there utility commission for them? I don't think so because they're privately owned so they just suck. They don't care that my sister who has cancer and her husband who has two hip replacements is sitting with no hot water and no gas to cook with. No heater... Run far away from this company.

I absolutely REGRET switching to Amerigas. They claim to be the BEST propane company out there. I am a new homeowner and have never used propane prior. I choice to switch from Hamilton Propane to Amerigas after receiving an email offer from them due to being a Viasat Satellite Internet user. They kept hounding me to get their tank delivered even though I still had 40% of propane in my current tank.
I finally scheduled the tank delivery, after letting them know of concerns of my property being very wet currently, that they would be fine installing the new tank and doing the tank swap out as they use a vehicle like a utility truck. Needless to say, they couldn't put in place and had to put in a temporary place. I was informed that they would then come fill the tank within two days. It is two days later, and I have talked to 5 different people with the company (most of which don't speak English) and still have no date or confirmation that they will actually be out to deliver Propane. I do NOT recommend using this company!

One of the most terrible companies I've ever dealt with. My impression was that AMERIGAS does not care about its customers at all. Well... maybe the "company" does, but its employees sure don't. They lied repeatedly, stole my time, and were undependable. When I finally cut my losses, it took them several months to just come and take their tank. I switched to a local company and couldn't be happier. In fact, I had forgotten about AMERIGAS until a few minutes ago when my new company inadvertently reminded me AGAIN how awful AMERIGAS was. Well... I had a rare few minutes on my hands and decided to write this review. Public be warned: If you have a choice other than Amerigas, grab it!

I ordered propane from Amerigas, the delivery was set for the middle of the day while I was at work. When I returned later that day, I could smell gas. The valve on the tank was left open and the gas leaked out. I called to have a technician come out, which they did in a reasonable amount of time. However, I lost almost all of the propane that was delivered. I have called FIVE times over the course of a month to try and get this issue resolved. Every time, I have to start from the beginning and explain what happened and each time I am told an inspection will be done to identify the issue and a resolution will be determined. Then when I call back to see the progress they have no record of anything! It has been a month and I am no closer to resolving this issue. Find a better propane company!

It took me 18 hours, at least seven agents, four supervisors, and countless "dropped" calls to "resolve" an issue that wasn't even my fault. I was on balanced billing and autopay and for some reason they stopped doing both even though they always got their money. I was told my payment plan was in place and that they would credit the approx $800 I'd just paid as my first installment of a four month payment plan.
I was reassured that the matter was settled and they would be sending a delivery. I made this supervisor confirm this to me several times. I called this morning to check my delivery status and was told there was no delivery scheduled (even though it showed on my account as delivery pending with no restrictions. I was also told that I'd have to pay the first installment (which I was told previously was covered by the payments I made on 2/11 and 2/15).
I insisted long enough that the supervisor said he'd cancel those payments so I could repay it as part of the installment plan, but I'd still have to pay a grand upfront for my fuel which NO ONE had mentioned previously. I got put on hold yet again. I made the rep promise to call me back if my call got " dropped" again and he said he would do so. After 2 1/2 hours my call got booted to the survey AGAIN, and the supervisor never got back to me.
My tank is at about 17% and the delivery order placed 2/16 is no longer visible on my account. Hmmmmm. I then talked to a rep online 2/18 at 5 pm who promised me a callback from the Senior Resolution Center within two hours, which I of course never got. This has been the worst customer service experience of my life, and I fully intend to involve the AG office, the Utilities Commission, the BBB, and I'm contacting our local media. Since mid-December when an AmeriGas truck crushed a portion of my driveway I have been on a very frustrating roller coaster ride! First, since I moved into this house in 1992, I have not submitted a complaint. When AmeriGas bought the previous company I stayed with them, I believe that was at least 10 years ago. A contract agreement is required, without it you can't get propane so if your house is heated by propane like mine is you have no choice. I also have a gas stove, hot water heater, dryer. I must approve the contract agreement. This agreement protects the company and can give them a license to be careless with no liability. If they are the kind of company that doesn't look at each case and doesn't care about right and wrong it's a very bad thing for the customer!
The morning my concrete was crushed my tank had 53% propane in a 500 gallon tank, the delivery could have been delayed a few days. It had rained for a week almost every day. It was a morning delivery between 9:00 and 9:30, a heavy full truck. Even considering those things I believe my driveway would have survived if when the driver pulled into the turnaround, he had maneuvered a little bit so he could back up with a slight turn and stay away from the edge, he didn't do that. The driver cut deep and turned while backing on the edge of the concrete putting even more weight on it. That with rain for a week, full truck, of course he crushed the concrete. That's when my AmeriGas nightmare began! You can't call the local AmeriGas anymore and the local location is now closed to the public.
I called the AmeriGas number several times for a couple of weeks each time getting a call center where the employees' first language isn't English. The person I spoke with each time took the information and said someone would call me, no one called. Oh, and when those people said the scripted "Sorry for the inconvenience" it felt insulting. This is much more than an inconvenience! I already felt violated when I saw the truck just drive off after he broke my driveway! Finally, when I called again and went over the story again I was transferred to one of the call center supervisors. She sent an email to one of the local managers and finally I got a call! I gave the information to the manager, he asked if I had gotten an estimate for the repair, I hadn't but got one for him and sent it as soon as I could along with pictures. He had everything he needed by January 12th and I had been dealing with this for a month by then. The manager said he would send the information to corporate.
After waiting what I thought was a reasonable amount of time I contacted the manager again on January 24 and told him to get in touch with corporate, I don't want them to sweep this under the rug. Then I received an email back not addressing me by name and with no signature. It simply said unfortunately we are not responsible for the damage to the Driveway. He said he could credit my account for the last delivery and extremely sorry for the "inconvenience". Personally I don't believe that was from corporate but from local management. Again I called the number, went through the story, I was transferred to someone in the resolution center who just happened to be with corporate, she was a bright light and agreed it should be repaired. She said she was sending an email to the managers telling them to turn this in to insurance. This was corporate and It took a weight off my shoulders.
Then I received a call from one of the managers, not the one I had been communicating with. He came out to look but really, I think he came out to say he did and to tell me he wasn't going to turn this in to insurance. He spent more time looking at other wear on my driveway than he did the crater the truck created. The crater that didn't have to happen, was avoidable. He was basically saying eventually this crack and that crack is going to give you trouble. To me what he was saying was kind of like this scenario. If I was driving my car and made a careless mistake and hit his car then got out of my car and said your car has other dings in it and it's an older car that will eventually give you trouble. Let me just give you a tank of gas for your inconvenience. I don't think he would agree with that and I agree it wouldn't be right.
Thank goodness we have laws to protect people from people who don't care about right and wrong except unfortunately when it comes to companies that don't care and protect themselves from liability and call everything they do wrong an inconvenience. Preventing liability shouldn't mean they have the right to be careless with property! After the manager left I came right back into my house and again called that number, talked with a person with broken English, was transferred to someone in the resolution department, was told someone would call me, they haven't. I wish there was a negative zero star! No wonder AmeriGas has an F rating with BBB! Any company has to be better!!!

I was told If I signed up for auto refill I would never have to worry about propane refills.. This is a lie.. I have had to call every single time I needed a refill and would beg and plead for refills every time I needed one for weeks and weeks.
This past winter I was left on empty for over two weeks in the middle of winter.. Leaving me with no heat for weeks. I called crying and begging and asked to speak with a supervisor.. No one could help me. I was told all my local offices were permanently closed. One customer service rep said they would issue me a $109 crefit for my troubles.. It was never issued. One morning I smelled gas and was worried I had a leak. I called my local fire dept because Amerigas wouldn't come out after days of begging.. Only after the fire dept. came out and I shared with a supervisor that I planned to contact an attorney about their non response did Amerigas say they were sending someone out asap.
The person they sent out was absolutely brand new to the company, drove the wrong way up my driveway and got stuck in his huge truck and in trying to get out completely tore up my driveway.. To quote many of the other reviews here, “If it were possible to choose 0 stars, we would.” Please believe everything the negative reviews say about this company. I feel like I am simply parroting what everyone else has said, so I will keep this brief. We are at our wit’s end with this company. We are cold, we turned off our heat days ago in order to preserve what propane we may have left (dial shows 0% but we can still turn on stove burners and have hot water). We have brought in a couple of electric space heaters to keep some areas warmer. We placed our order for refill on 1/15. Window for delivery was 1/16 - 1/23. Today is 2/1/23 and still no propane. Night-time temperatures have finally warmed up to double digits, but for several days they were in the single digits. We began calling for information on 1/24.
Like everyone else, we talked to people in India who spoke English as a second language and who informed us that they would report our situation, but that they could not access any information about expected delivery. Finally yesterday I was connected to someone who was able to access delivery information, said we were on an expedited list, and that we would get a robo call last night confirming delivery today. No call, so this morning I called again and spoke to a woman who really seemed to know something. She told me the delivery was en route and we were fourth in line for service today. It is now 5:30 p.m. and surprise, NO DELIVERY.
Feels just like Ground Hog Day. In desperation, we checked this site and were disturbed to read all these reviews written by people who have had the same experience. This is your basic nightmare. We are all in the same situation and seemingly have no recourse. We can’t even have someone else deliver propane, since the tank does not belong to us but to Amerigas. Obviously, as soon as possible we will change companies, but after reading people’s descriptions of trying to get the tanks removed, we are distressed. Yesterday we read that the CEO of Amerigas makes over $6 million a year! So, hey, everything’s not bad.

They are over a week past their own deadline of when they claimed my fuel would arrive. They closed their Plattsburgh office and have outsourced customer complaints overseas making it impossible to get in touch with anyone from my area. Amerigas offers services that they cannot possibly provide - they should discontinue fleecing people in my region with their $300 'expedition' right away. They do not have the capability to service this - I have paid it before and it does nothing.
Amerigas has two trucks to service this entire region where they rake in millions of dollars a year. Currently their excuse for this is that they are unable to hire truck drivers, but a little deeper quickly proves that they are trying to hire fuel deliver truck drivers at $21 an hour, which is a full $11 dollars less than the industry standard. They loving ripping off their workers almost as much as they love ripping off their customers. With two underpaid truckers servicing this entire region it is no wonder they get so many complains a month.
When I called yesterday to ask when my fuel would arrive - because it is a week late - the person on the phone tried once again to get me to pay an additional $300 expedition fee. I have paid this fee before and it accomplishes nothing - they will arrive when they arrive and there is nothing any customer can do to be sure they will ever actually being serviced. They are accountable to no one, as they do not even have an office here. Since so many of customers in my region have these similar issues I am attempting to find a way to move forward with some sort of civil penalty or some way to legally force Amerigas to either reopen their Plattsburgh office, hire trucks drivers and provide them with a living wage, or vacate the area entirely.

When I signed up, I was on automatic delivery. I received a full fill on 11/16 of 196 gallons, and today Jan. 12, 2023 only 56 days later I am at 0%. I am not a will call customer, I am on automatic delivery. I woke up to a house that was 46 degrees on the inside. My stove wouldn't light, no hot water, and guess what no propane.
I called to see what was up and the representative said that they have been recieving a high amount of calls in the last few weeks for this same reason. They then wanted to charge me 300$ for a expedited delivery, 140$ for a leak check charge since the tank reached zero, AND they are charging a whole $1.16 more than all competitors. In total the charge that had to be paid today before I received propane was almost 1400$ for a 250 gallon tank. All other companies around me do not charge for a leak check, and if there is a leak, they fix it and give you the best possible rate. This company is gouging people left and right and leaving them freezing cold..
I DO NOT RECOMMEND any part of any of this company. Please don't waste your time. Please dear god don't waste your money. They are not in it for customer satisfaction, they are in it for the money. I have read countless reviews where people are being left cold, and then being charged a leak check because their tanks reach zero percent. SOMEONE needs to lose their job. Oh and might I remind you, if you want to remove their tank, their labor is 149$ plus tax. AMERIGAS. TAKE YOUR CUSTOMER'S ADVICE. WE WILL PUT YOU OUT OF BUSINESS.

I have been with AmeriGas for years before they were bought out by UGI. I used to be able to call the local number and I would speak with the same lady every time. She could handle the deliveries, get in touch with drivers, make sure the account is up to date, etc. Now I call an '800' number and speak with someone that is reading off a script. We ordered propane and like always there is a week time span, which was expected. 2 weeks go by and no delivery. I messaged an online person and they said that they were behind deliveries due to lack of drivers. Okay fine. Another week goes by and I contact them through messaging. They said the delivery is tomorrow.
I asked in several different ways if I should expect deliveries in the future to be outside the 1 week prediction. Rep could not give me a direct answer. I then called and spoke with someone and they said the delivery will be there tomorrow. I asked the same question. She said that it was because of the lack of drivers. I asked if we should have been contacted regarding the late delivery and she said, "Yes, we should be contacted if the delivery late." I told her that I was never contacted and she said she would report it. It seems like everyone is having this same issue and after being a customer for years, we will be searching for a new propane supplier in the spring. I too, have 2 children under 2 and having the thermostat on 65F is not right when we have a solution to this issue.

I have had the same problem with delivery that the other reviewers had. I live in Bella Vista, AR and have been waiting 17 days for propane delivery. We call every day and are told that it will be delivered that day and that we have been upgraded to priority status. Everyone should call their Attorney General's office for your state. They will hold them accountable. We ordered propane back on Dec. 27th, 2022. It is now Jan.12, 2023. They should have a criminal case brought against them.

JANUARY 2023 UPDATE: Still sending bills saying I owe almost $300. I already paid the $180 for set up when the person finally showed up. I have emailed and called with no one giving me a straight answer and today received mail for a debt collector requesting the amount I've been trying to get straightened out since our service began.
OCTOBER 2022: I called a week before we were going to move into our house to set up service so that we would have it on the day we moved in. It's now 8 days since we have moved in.. meaning over 2 weeks since I first scheduled the appointment and we still have no gas at our house. I had someone call me yesterday at 4:30 whenever the appointment was supposed to be between 12 and 5 yesterday and because I didn't pick up and I tried calling back with no answer from them, they never came and now we still have to make another appointment so this will be our 3rd appointment trying to get our gas turned on. Also ironically the first piece of mail we received at our new house was a bill from them, I wish they would be as quick about actually giving a service as they were about mailing out a bill to us for something we haven't even gotten yet.

I’m reading the reviews and we are having the same issues. We have been out of propane since January 2 I call every day so does my boyfriend and each day we are told propane will be delivered that day. Seven days later no propane, no heat, no way to cook, no hot water. I don’t know how this company gets away with doing this. It’s unreal. I’ve been sick, my daughter is sick. We have paid our bill in full hundreds of dollars. We were told somebody had to be home for the propane to be delivered so that’s a whole week I’ve been out of work and still we have no propane.

I totally agree with you Gigi. I have been a customer with AmeriGas for two years. I am on automatic delivery. Was sent a text message stating delivery would be on 12/23/2022. It is now Jan 7th and no delivery. Now I am out of propane and like you have no heat or hot water. I have made over six calls and as of 9 pm Saturday the 7th still NO PROPANE. I am currently looking for another company that does not lie to their customers. If my pipes freeze, I plan on letting the company aware of that and they should pay the repairs. Because now I will have a higher bill due to a full 500-gallon tank being filled. I plan on calling the company on Monday and letting them know how frustrating and inconvenient it was for me. I had to cancel appointment to be available for nothing. This company doesn't deserve the one star that I gave it. Loyal customers deserve better treatment if you want to keep them.

What word would you describe as worse than HORRIBLE? Horrendous, lousy, awful....Well if you can think of a word, that would be the word to use to describe the customer service provided by AmeriGas Propane company. If there was a way to give a NEGATIVE STAR, that is how I would rate their service. We are a first time customer and have not yet received the service we were told that we would receive. And already, we want to cease our services with AmeriGas. We are new on a property that uses propane.
As we were shopping around by calling different companies to provide us services, we were told that AmeriGas has to service our tank because their "sticker" is on the tank. We called AmeriGas on Tuesday and told them that it was an emergency. We were scheduled for Thursday of the same week for a safety check and propane delivery. The safety check person came and told us that a different person will deliver the propane within 24 hours. Well, today is Saturday and each time we called, there was a discrepancy in the information provided to us.
As a family, we lost patience with all the LIES that were provided by this company. There is no INTEGRITY in the information provided to us. At least, we stopped believing in the information provided over the phone because each time we called customer service or the sales department, nothing came through with the information that was given to us. We were told SEVERAL times that we were placed on an "emergency" delivery and we would get our propane on the same day. Well, I hate to tell you that we are still waiting. The automated machine gave one date for the delivery, the customer agent for scheduling gave another date, and sales gave a different date.
The WORST part, we were told that someone needed to be at home for delivery. Imagine being in a COLD house with 3 kids for two days "waiting for propane delivery" that never came. WE WARN YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. If you are choosing to do business with AmeriGas, you will need to allot several hours waiting on the phone to listen to the deceiving information provided by customer service (most likely outside of the USA), lots of patience to wait for the outrageous service, and lots of graces to not freeze or become ill from taking cold showers and staying in a cold house that even using a space heater is not enough to keep one room warm.
It would have been a different story if AmeriGas was honest in the first place and told us when we first called that they would not be able to provide services until...(whatever date, hopefully within a week). We would have had the option to plan accordingly... stay at a family home or rent a hotel room. We couldn't make a decision because we didn't know if they would show up or not. Our frustration is coming from AmeriGas promising services and falling short to adhere to the promises. We want OUT of this contract that we, in some way, did not choose, but automatically came with the house. AmeriGas, if you are hearing me, this is NOT a way to provide services to your first time customers. We are EXTREMELY dissatisfied and disappointed and would NEVER recommend your company to ANYONE.

Don't call for service. If you have to use them (renting)... Set your account up and then do everything else on the website. We called and set up our account, but after all, was said and done, credit check, etc. we let them know our tank was at 20% and we needed fuel asap. No delivery was scheduled and we ran out. Spent Christmas and New Year's without heat, hot water, or gas to cook in our home. Not showering or cooking and huddling near space heaters is not a great way to celebrate the holidays, or spend any week. :( Because we ran out of propane we had to get a safety check which was $190 on top of the inconvenience of how we spent our holiday. John, the safety check tech was fantastic and deserves 5 stars for his service. I will make sure we don't have Amerigas when we purchase a home this spring.

The worst company to deal with. I paid my gas delivery on December 20th $500 and today is Jan 6th and I still don't have my delivery. Called many times, they say my tank has 38% and I have only 12%. Yesterday I called again and after 30 mins waiting they said my delivery was going to be done today. Today I receive a text saying the driver could not find my house so they did not do my delivery. I just called and they said my tank is showing 58%. How the hell it went from 38% to 58% overnight without a delivery? They said also the delivery will be in 24-48 hours... They are just unbelievable. Terrible in customer service and they don't care about us. If I run out of this this weekend I will sue them. AmeriGas Corporate should make changes and make customer happy..

My 78 year old sister who has Parkinson's owns the property where the propane tank is located; that is Pine Mountain Club, CA. where night time temperatures are often below freezing in winter. My sister has been purchasing propane from Amerigas for about 2 years. She is on an AUTOMATIC FILL program. On December 6th I examined the tank and discovered that it was empty. The propane furnace that heats the house and the hot water heater both shut off. We called Amerigas Customer Service and their representative apologized for their mistake. No explanation why they didn't automatically re-fill the tank. We were assured by the CSR that she would create an EMERGENCY ticket to get the tank filled. We never heard from Amerigas why the automatic fill didn't happen. We never received ANY response from Amerigas. A second telephone call was made to determine when the propane would be delivered. We were told December 8th.
We waited until December 10th without heat in the house or hot water on which date Amerigas finally serviced the tank. The price for a gallon of propane in the Pine Mountain Club area is about $0.25 higher if purchased from Amerigas than the competition. I don't know about Customer Service from other propane suppliers in the area but different CSRs that Amerigas uses will give you a different answer, with LONG waits on the phone. VERY, VERY POORLY RUN COMPANY.

I have recently found that 1 of my 2 tanks has rusted over. I wrote to their contact email address. They did reply with a day or two that they would notify my local office to contact me and discuss a solution. When nobody contacted me, I wrote to them 2 more times, approximately weekly, and told them that I hadn't heard from anyone. I wrote today for a fourth time, telling them how angry I am. I don't know if I will hear back.

Amerigas will not refill my propane tank after weeks of requests and many phone calls. I have been calling them daily now and each customer service representative tells me something different. It's so COLD and we are suffering. Amerigas seems like a scam company or definitely something seriously wrong with their Company Service systems. I have just read many similar customer experiences. The appropriate Government agency should take action. This is a terrible problem.
