Timely, clean, efficient, easy and I would use again. I needed a larger car to take my family of 7 to Big Bear and it was a pleasant experience. The owner called and texted during my trip which was a little different than renting from a car rental place but overall it was a good experience.

My experience with Turo was stellar per usual. The vehicle was accurate with the picture and was clean. The owner was thorough and kind. I am able to locate a car near me with plenty of options, and I love that I can book instantly without waiting for approval from the owner. The insurance is affordable and offers great coverage as well. I’ll continue to use Turo, it makes my life easier, especially for last minute trips!

Everything was smooth until the host tried to scam me out of $20 over fuel level. Now I have to deal with the headache of a dispute. Never dealt with this nonsense from big rental car companies. I’m not sure if I will rent with Turo again due to this experience.

The selection of available cars made the selection difficult, but the ability to something interesting, versus a mundane rental car for the same price was great. The car was where it was supposed to be and exceptionally clean. It drove beautifully... And being a recent Camaro, was fun to drive, even in LA traffic. I had a couple issues with the phone unlock... It turns out that sometimes, when you return to the locked car, the application screen shows the unlock button, but it is not Green and won't unlock the car. I found I had to back up a screen, and return to trip in progress to get the unlock button to go green and allow the car to unlock.
Similarly, when trying to check out, to see the fuel gauge for the required picture, the ignition was locked and I had to back out of the checkout process to be able to turn on the ignition and activate the fuel gauge. These aren't issues with the car, but you may want to give future renters a heads up (I even called for assistance, but the agent did not know how to solve the problem... After almost 10 minutes I came up with the solution I described above, him up from on-hold and was on my way... Your agents need to have this solution in their trouble shooting database also). All in all, it was a wonderful rental experience.

Spent hours looking for the right car. Put on my payment details to be told that I'm not eligible. They do not provide you with an explanation on why this is. They just tell you, "Contact support." You spend another 30 min contacting support so they can tell you the same thing. How smart, I wish them good luck.

I had a great experience renting a car using Turo. The process was easy and simple. The car owner himself was great to work with, he responded quickly to my questions, delivered the car in great conditions and clean and he was very helpful teaching me how to use the app (my first time). It was also very useful the ability to extend my rental as I needed to keep it for longer than expected. And again, the car owner was very flexible and responsive about it.
I will use this app again and recommend it! I wish you (Turo) would have some way to flag good car owners from bad ones. I choose who to rent from based on ratings and feedbacks. Perhaps to add the stars rating (for the owner) to the car images on the search page would help to make it a faster process while choosing a car. Also to be added to the search results the price for delivery right upfront if that filter is on. Another good thing about your service is to be able to get insurance and to choose which cover you want to easily and quickly. These are my only suggestions! I love the service and I will use it again for sure!

I rented a vehicle in San Bruno, Ca in October. After returning the rental I was informed that there was damage to the vehicle. I did not damage the vehicle. Turo proceeded to charge me $1000 to repaint an area less than 1/2 the size of a dime. Two months later Turo added a supplemental damage in the amount of $500. Turo is inflating the price of the supposed damage and is committing insurance fraud. Beware. Do not rent from Turo. They will defraud you.

I lost my license when traveling, I let the Turo owner know. I also contacted the DMV and was able to get a temporary license and I happened to have my expired license with me. I was told that this was not sufficient and my car was canceled. I had an interview the next day and the traditional car rental companies would accept my license, but did not have any cars available. I ended up with a 12 passenger van. Terrible, nonexistent customer service and all-around terrible company. I thought that nothing could be worse than traditional car rental services, but I was wrong. Do not use Turo. I had a couple good experiences, but it is not worth a terrible experience.

I decided to use Turo over a rental car company because it should have been a much cheaper alternative. While the base price of my trip was $78 before the "trip fee" and much more favorable than a rental car, I was later SLAMMED with an additional $83.15 change for 27 extra miles. TWENTY SEVEN. 27 extra miles cost more than the entire trip. That is ridiculous. With the base charge, the Turo fees, and the extra fee, using Turo was a substantially worse experience than using a rental car. I won't being using Turo again, and will be happy to share my experience with anyone who asks.

I went on vacation to California and began researching what to rent as soon as I got off the plane. I found the car I wanted to rent and began the process of checkout. I filled out everything necessary. Last step of taking a picture of my licence failed multiple times for whatever reason. Called the support line, they can't help so I was told to email support first and should get a response right away. Such was the case, and they told me to email a picture with drivers licence next to my face along with a picture of my credit card. No response even for the rest of the day nor earlier the next.
At that point I was just ticked off about the whole thing and emailed back late morning asking why no response. Of course I don't get a straight answer, but instead an email that says they needed the same info they had requested in the first email. Obviously just a stupid computer generated response. Ended up going to Enterprise as I felt this was a lost cause. I was all excited to drive the car I had found only to be disappointed in the end.

I wanted to save a little money and so rented from Turo for a family vacation. It has been a disaster. The owner of the car agreed to let me return it to a different location than the airport. However, he then did not respond to multiple texts, calls, or emails over the days leading up to the return date. Finally, I was able to reach him the night before the car was set to be returned but this created undue stress for the last half of our vacation. I had a minor fender bender where a small amount of paint came off the bumper. I let the owner know immediately, and he agreed to let me pay him cash for the damage. Without explanation he changed his mind and decided to have Turo handle the claim. The problem with this is that Turo charges a flat $150 administrative fee despite the minimal damage.
The owner was trying to bill me for tolls he accumulated driving the car the day before I picked it up. I got emails months after the rental telling me that I needed to pay these tolls or provide proof that I did not accumulate them. This wasted more of my time and was frustrating because the burden of proof was on me as the customer and not the owner. Turo was a pain to deal with.
The worst part of all this is that Turo will not let me review the owner on their site. They give you 7 days after return of the rental car to post the review. Despite many of my problems happening after returning the car, they have steadfastly refused to let me post any review about the owner. They seem to have little interest in supporting the customer. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone that has any ability to do anything except read you a policy. I will NEVER rent from them again and encourage all of my friends to avoid Turo like the plague. If everything goes smoothly you might save a little money, but if there are any issues (which is a reasonable chance with travel), you are much better off with a standard rental company than Turo.

I risked being late to my sister's wedding to find a FedEx depot, then paid $86 out of pocket, just to make sure the next reservation would not be messed up. 3 months later, Turo has still not reimbursed me for these expenses. When they picked me up from the airport, I right away heard that the brakes on the car were squeaky and the car unsafe. Then my bill was supposed to be $35 and was increased to $93 because I asked to be picked up an hour early when my flight changed. What in the world?!? That's a dollar a minute!!
I complained and said I will never use them again, and all they did was offer me another credit. Why would I need a credit so that I can be killed in an unsafe car and way higher than it was supposed to cost purchase?? Plus when I asked the owner of the car about the charges, all he ever said was that he never dealt with money and he didn't know why I was being charged more. I did extend my trip by one hour, but my host approved it, there was no notice of a fee, and I was still within my 5-day rental window. I rented my car out on Turo last weekend and could not be more disappointed with the claim resolution process. I have a brand new $40,000 SUV in great condition, so I was sure to reiterate Turo’s policy in my ad: NO SMOKING and NO PETS. Still, my renters borrowed my car for the weekend and completely trashed it! There was ash and dog hair all over the car, dog claw prints that tore at the seams of the leather, food crumbs ground into the seats, and a foul lingering odor of smoke and pet dander.
I was horrified and immediately snapped photos of the damage and contacted Turo. Three days go by and not a single phone call from Turo. I submitted quotes I received to repair the damage that totaled to $1,300+. Turo finally contacted me today and my heart sank when they offered me a $250 settlement, citing Turo policy for pet damage doesn’t cover cost over $250... I lent my car out to help make ends meet and instead I’m out of pocket over a thousand dollars. I’m currently writing this while taking the train/Uber to work while the damage is fixed. Turo offered me $25 and a car impossible to get to as a solution. I finally decided to give them another chance a few months later. I was 24 minutes late for dropping off my car. This 24 minutes was approved by the owner. Turo charged me an entire day as a late fee. For "inconveniencing the owner." The owner tried emailing them asking them to drop the charge. The Host called me 2 hours before pick-up and told me that the account had been deactivated. When I called the representative and told him the issue, I was told that the verification dept. deactivated it, and if he could put me on a brief (5 min hold) to finish his notes, he would transfer me to that department so that I wouldn’t have to repeat myself. When I was transferred, the woman asked "So what issue are you having?" So, I absolutely had to repeat myself. She asked, “Didn’t you get an email?” I said that I had not. She advised me to check my spam. This is all happening during my workday. There is not an email in sight, spam or elsewhere, and I'm stranded. So honestly? DON’T EVEN GO THERE!!!

Never use this rental company. They have a flawed rental system that does not require renters to confirm availability of vehicles. Renter canceled at the last minute after the agreed upon pickup time. Renter said he hasn't had the vehicle for 6 months, but forgot to remove the car from the site. It should have never been listed on the website or rented to me. Turo takes your money without confirming with the renter that the car is 'actually' available. I was left in a very vulnerable situation and had to spend hundreds of dollars on an Uber to get to and from the pickup site and car rental place.
My trip was ruined, hours were lost, and hundreds of dollars wasted. To make matters worse, this was the second car I tried to rent that canceled on me within 24 hours of the start of the trip. Called Turo for customer service. While they reimbursed me for the car rental, there was no compensation for the lost time, wasted weekend, and the hundreds of dollars I had to waste to get out of a very vulnerable situation. Very disappointed and will never use again.

This review mostly apply for car owners. Especially the ones who owns premium and brand new cars. Please pay attention: there is no value for you to list your brand new car. If you are thinking to extra source of income which definitely is not reliable, go and list a 2-3 years old car. A rude and aggressive guy rent my car. It was my first experience. I had washed my car (2018 - brand new SUV), inside and outside. As a part of process I took some photos for documentation. When The guy returned the car it was just like piece of **. Moreover he passed daily 200km permitted. When I told the guy I will ask for reimbursement, he said, "It's exactly like when I picked it up." "OMG!" I said. He also charged me I am abusing and called me con artist. I was 100% sure I am right cause even if you close your eyes you can at least smell the sense of cleanness.
All of sudden I received a message from customer support which said, "The dispute is closed in favor of guest." I surprised and email them, explain and asked how did you find out this matter? He told me a funny answer. "We just received the photo when the car has returned. You needed to provide more photo from when you handled the keys." I said, "You haven’t seen the prior check-in photos or haven’t wanted to see?" This is the screenshot from my Turo app which showing prior check-in and after car returned. This time he said, "No you provide only 2-3 photos and it's a little dirt because of rain. Next time provide more photos from the inside as well."
So Right after I saw this level of judgment, I snoozed my listing in Turo. I think there is no value for me to list brand new cars. Much better if you have a mid size or economy class with 2-3 years age at least. Their customer support is also biased on guests' favour. Do not waste your time and never list a brand new car there. You’d be disappointed.

If I could give this "BUSINESS" 0 stars, I would in a heartbeat! I signed up for my account on Nov 12, 2018. I dropped my car off in the shop and needed a rental ASAP. I selected my car and completed the checkout only to receive a message that I couldn't book. I call customer service and the only assistance they could provide was to tell me I had to contact the verification specialists via chat or e-mail. I started trying to chat with verification around 9 am (since the rental was time sensitive) and after 4 failed attempts and finally switching to my cell phone, the chat finally worked and didn't give me any more connection errors. Now I find out in the chat that my account has been flagged as "risky" and they want a credit report from TransUnion and about 8 other documents containing EXTREMELY sensitive information.
When I questioned the associate as to why this information was not relayed to me when I originally established my account on Nov 12 this was her response. "Since our account setup is through an automated system, it may not have registered this". So wait...you want me to send you a copy of my driver's license and a copy of my paycheck through an AUTOMATED SYSTEM... NO THANKS! That doesn't sound secure to me at all. NOT TO MENTION... on their website they state that "in most cases, driver eligibility check takes seconds, so you will be ready to hit the road in a few short minutes..." - IF THAT ISN'T FALSE ADVERTISING, THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. All I do know is I will NOT BE USING TURO, I WILL make sure that every guest I serve at the restaurant I work will hear about this and I will be deleting my account as soon as this is posted.

The way the app is designed allows room for it to be extremely misleading regarding how many miles are allowed "per day" opposed to the trips total miles allowed. As a result, I a first time user, had to pay $200+ in mileage fees because what I understood to be 400 miles/day as illustrated during my search to book a rental was in fact only 400 miles total. Trust for a first time user that's very unfortunate. Especially when my conversation with the host AND customer service rep left me feeling unvalued.
To hear the Turo customer service representative explain to me that Turo has had numerous complaints of the same issue is disturbing. How can one know there is such an issue but continue to operate without correcting it and/or making things very transparent? At the end of the day this situation really affected my perception of Turo. There were no concessions made on the fees I'm obligated to pay and in my opinion another example of big business not truly caring about those that make it thrive...the consumer. Again I can't express enough my disappointment in the situation.

$900 for one night rental! The renting process is sketchy. The renter called and canceled the trip 1 hour before and then invited me to rent the vehicle later on. He told me that there was an accident with the previous user. I was desperate and had to use this damaged vehicle. The claims process is even worse. I agreed to pay $150 for a rental of an off road vehicle only to find out after the rental is done that there is NO OFF ROADING allowed. This failed communication ruined my trip, renter kept this information from me even though I inquired about off road travel.
After returning the vehicle they charged me an additional $300 for mileage. Because I couldn’t take the vehicle off road I had to travel around the mountain and this is why my mileage was increased. They failed to inform of the ban on off road travel me and are now charging me for the mileage I was forced to use in order to reach my destination. Afterwards, I was charged an additional $451 for damages done to the bumper. I finally received the photos of the damage and it turns out that Turo has charged me for some dirt that is on the bumper. This is the biggest fraud and scam of this entire process. I hope they get sued and investigated. After some complaining, they reduced my charge by $150. My host was with me live on phonecall and waited to receive the request send by me. After I send it, it got canceled. At First the live support told me my host did not accept it. What? Was not true.
Later they acknowledged that it got canceled by their system because I send out the request one minute before the return time. They told me in order to get the discount they can connect the old and the new reservation. So I did order another 2 days to plan to extend from there the fully 12 days. After customer support connected both trips it was 12 pm by the time, I got a bill of 80 USD!!! For LATE return?!? That bill got lucky removed. But now I can’t get the 15% discount as agreed it would work. Wasted 3.5 hours... Horrible customer support. They do not know what they doing! Great idea... But to get to Airbnb level they need work on their customer support and not act as a robot??? Oh and they was unwilling to give any discount on their site as I am not a new customer. I rented 2 cars within one week ONLY.

I was looking forward to an Airbnb type experience. I was very disappointed. I made the reservation a week in advance. The day before my travel I was informed by the host that I would not receive curbside pick up as advertised. She wasn't sure where the registration was, and I would pay the airport parking fee. I was misled to believe I was renting a solid running vehicle. I made the reservation well in advance.
As I was heading to the airport I was notified that the windshield wipers were "glitchy." Unfortunately, that equated to the all-out failure of the wipers in heavy rain on the highway. There is no phone number on the website so through sprawled out emails they offered a $50 credit after I informed them that I was not to be using their services again. Lame. I'm very grateful I was not involved in an accident. Turo Customer Service (415) 965-4525.

My husband and I rented a car from Turo for our wedding, what a mistake. From the beginning we were asked to meet with the owner a little earlier since he had a call to be on. He pulls up and the car is filthy and tells us “sorry I didn’t have time”... He asked us to be early. We did not rush him. He then asks if we want to use the trunk, in a convertible. Wouldn’t you assume we’d probably want to have access to the truck? So he then pulls out a car seat, skateboard, and ALL other beach gear you could think of. Had we not said anything, this all would have been left in there? How inconvenient for those renting from you.
We had an issue with the car and somehow the leather on the seat was ripped when returned. We weren’t sure how it happened but took responsibility and followed the procedures for the claim. Here’s where it starts. We were emailed by a woman named Cynthia in claims that a $500 initial fee would be taken out of our account in 24 hours, this is on October 26th... Still waiting for that to happen. She then says that she thinks the damage won’t even cost that so we should have less than that taken from our account... That hasn’t happened. Being that we are younger and just got married budgeting is tight and expecting $500 to be deducted from our account is stressful and waiting nearly a month to see when it will happen is even more stressful.
I contacted Cynthia asking what is happening considering everything we were told HADNT happened still (November 8th). No response from Cynthia but now a new person Karely explaining that we will no longer be charged but our insurance will be. Interesting, considering I was told it would be deducted from my personal account WEEKS ago.
Upon seeing this email this morning I attempted to call a human being, what do you know you can’t find a phone number on their website to save your life. Go through the emails same thing no phone number. Go to Google and finally, but when you call the customer service operator can’t help you and want to connect you to someone else. I was connected to claims twice this morning. They aren’t even open, we weren’t told that. Then we call again and they want to connect me to someone that doesn’t work in that department because “MAYBE they could TRY to help”. So I was connected and they answered, to immediately hang up.
I am a store manager for a larger corporation and understand customer service, if I treated someone this way they would surely complain so here I am. I don’t understand how a company that has been open for 9 years can still be so unaware of how to take care of their customers. We weren’t passing off the damage, we owned that and weren’t scared away from Turo from that. However now I will warn everyone I know to go through anyone else before using this service. Worst customer service experience I have been through.

While driving my Turo, I was rear-ended on the highway. I was going 60 mph (the speed limit) in the right lane at the time I was hit. No other cars were around us, but the driver said he “saw me but could not slow down in time.” Luckily we both walked away mostly unscathed after whipping both cars around the cement wall and guardrail. The other driver was charged with (1) Following too closely and (2) Failing to present evidence of insurance. I was allowed to drive away from the scene of the accident because I was in no way at fault.
That’s where the issues with Turo began. Turo conveniently waives all uninsured motorist coverage in all states that don’t legally require it, without disclosing which states those are. 32 of the 51 states/DC allow for drivers to waive this coverage. Unfortunately, Colorado (where I was driving) is one of these states. The estimated damages to the car were around $3,000. Because I opted for the premium insurance, I am being held liable for the $500 deductible; however, if I had selected the standard insurance package, I would be liable for the full $3,000.
Here’s the real kicker. TURO IS ONLY COVERING 20% OF THE ACTUAL CLAIM AS SUBMITTED BY THE OWNER OF THE CAR. Their company policy is that they only cover 20% of all claims that total to under $3,750. So, in the end, I was blindsided at 65+ MPH, have to pay $500 + medical visit + missed flight + alternate means of getting to the airport, and the owner of the car has to pay for 80% of the repairs. So my deductible plus the cost of my rental will cover the cost they have to pay to the owner. Had I bought the standard insurance and had to pay $3000, they would still only pay the owner 20% and pocket the other $2400.

I was initially really excited about Turo as they had a car available during a peak period when many of the rental car companies in our area did not. It was also a last-minute booking (about 10 hours ahead of pick-up time), so I was grateful. Things went awry as soon as I went to pick up the car. The owner had decided to leave the car in the driveway with a note. The car was filthy, both inside and out. The gas tank was empty. The owner apologized they didn't have a chance to wash before I picked up.
As soon as I started to drive the car, I discovered that several major functions were not working, including rear lights, one of the turn signals, etc. I feel lucky I was not pulled-over as these are violations. I pinged the owner to let her know about the problems and she was totally unapologetic. I needed the car as the rental car companies didn't have anything, so I was stuck driving this for several days. I felt super unsafe. I ended up returning the car 1.5 hours late due to traffic. I pinged the owner in advance to let her know.
After all the awful car troubles, she still chose to charge me for the extra 1.5 hours. I complained to Turo and I can't remember a time when I've experienced worse customer service. We went back and forth many times without Turo even so much as apologizing for my experience with the car, which did not meet basic vehicle safety requirements. I carefully reviewed Turo's policies and saw that they had violated their own policies in terms of inspecting vehicles older than a certain number of years.
After exposing this, they first removed this vehicle from their inventory, and then after much demanding, they refunded me a tiny portion of the rental, which they indicated was the percentage they kept from the deal, since the owner apparently keeps most. Turo obviously has a huge way to go in terms of ensuring vehicles are of adequate quality, and in terms of customer service. My experience was bad enough that unfortunately I won't be giving Turo a second chance.

I rented my car out on Turo. The first renter had already rented two cars and had a five star rating. When she came to pick up the car, I was supposed to check her driver's license and found she did not have one - she can't drive (she brought a friend to drive the car). I phoned Turo to find out what to do and we were disconnected (this happens a lot when talking to Turo support). I photographed both their IDs and gave them the car. Turo emailed (not called) me, telling me not to give her the car - too late. How did she rent two cars prior or even get on the platform if you need a driver's license and she doesn't have one?
When she returned the car, I entered the mileage into my phone and it said she had driven 27,000 miles in one day. I asked Turo how to correct this and they said you can't. I later found out the driver had gone through a red light camera and I got a ticket. I did not want to pay the ticket because my insurance would go up. I asked the help line what to do, they said they would email me an Affidavit of Liability Transfer to sign but then never did. Other than advertising your car the company is pretty much worthless. Maybe in a couple of years they will get their act together but they definitely have a long way to do right now.

As I was walking towards my rental car that was in the parking lot of my hotel I had witnessed an Uber driver back into the rental car. The Uber driver who hit my car got out and he admitted complete fault. We contacted the owner of the car, and Turo, insurance, and everything seemed settled. 1 month later I get a charge for $600 from Turo to repair the car, so I contact them asking why and they said because the insurance company of the Uber driver denied liability and was refusing to pay and said that I was the one who hit the rental car.
Turo did not even listen to what I had to say and said that there isn't anything that I can do about it. And top of that Turo is saying that the added insurance that I purchased is not applicable in my situation. After doing some research I came across others with the same problem, and it turns out that Turo and Uber use the same insurance company so it is very easy for them to create their own story and run with it.

Renting out my car one day changed my whole impression on this stupid app. These people make money on our cars. We do make little bit I agree. But if something wrong happens. These people will show their back and you will be **. In my case, my tires were stolen and replaced with some cheap tires. My car was met in an small accident. Now I ended up spending the money I earned from Turo and extra money from my pocket. It's more than 2 months and incident is not resolved. My car was sitting at body shop for 3 weeks dismantled. Those people were unable to contact Turo or neither the insurance regarding the snapsheet they provided.
These people do not have a phone number to reach. You can consider yourself lucky if they call you on the time you request for a callback or respond to your email the next day. The funniest part is even without proper review. They declined my damage saying it wasn't submitted on time. When I sent them the screenshot of my chat and damage report they agreed to consider.
Next thing they said was they will cover only one wheel under damage. After so many emails, screenshots of prior and post trip pics They agreed to cover my bumper and other wheel. This shows how these people try to escape during the claim process and try to decline the claim every possible way. They still didn't cover my other wheel and tires. I am not sure how many more months they will take to sort this out. Whoever reading this are really trying to take the risk renting your car on this crap app for little extra bucks considering the hectic process during claims. It's totally up to you...

After emailing my request, I received a response that not only would they not make the MINOR correction but that they deactivated my account. That if I felt that was an error on their part to send a picture of my driver's license, as well as a picture of me next to my driver's license. I thought that was a bit much for the minor correction I was asking for but I obliged and sent them both those requests.
I was then asked for more proof including a copy of one of my utility bills. Huh?!! They asked for almost 6 types of ID verification for me asking that 3 letters in my name be corrected. Not to mention, my driver's license that I sent them to originally verify my identity says the EXACT same thing that I was requesting them to correct my name in my profile to read. The profile name was mistakenly misspelled. How about the real issue should have been why did they allow me to start a new profile with a different name than what was in my driver's license ID? How about they dropped the ball by not catching that when I first signed up?!! Ummm... You do the math. SMH.

Turo then directly deducts the toll from drivers credit card on file, without letting the driver dispute the charge.
I got charged over thirty times what was rightfully due because of this: I carried my EZ Pass transponder throughout the journey and on one toll booth, the sensor failed to read my transponder. Note that this is not a rare occurrence. So be forewarned that you may get charged of hundreds and hundreds of dollars and will be given no option to contest the charges, even when you are not at fault. All Turo Customer Support team got back with was: "I completely understand where you are coming from, but my hands are tied based on the policies that you agreed to. When I contacted them and provide them with my TransUnion Score of 870 out of 950, they changed their tune and stated they needed to confirm my identity. This company seems like it has not internal guidelines or standards to follow. Based on my experience it seems like the employees make up the rules as they go. I understand the safety and security measures are there to protect both the owner and the renter. For this reason they should guidelines for employees to follow when approving or declining applications. My driving record is perfect. No accidents or tickets for the past 30 years.

The owner (rents a fleet of 14 luxury vehicles) of the vehicle I rented in Orlando, Florida recently took advantage of the fact that I inadvertently forgot to take photos of before and after readings of the odometer. He even texted me to see if I took a picture of the odometer to check before filing a fraudulent claim. He submitted a claim for over $600 to get reimbursed for excess mileage. He submitted a before and after picture of the odometer reading which clearly shows that he used a tool to change the odometer in the after picture since it didn’t have the second odometer reading below to show how many miles I actually traveled. I provided other evidence from my Life 360 app that proves that I clearly drove under the allotted 300 miles. Turo ruled in my favor and stated that the case was closed and did not charge me the fee.
The next day, I received a charge for over $600 on my credit card on file. The customer service representative stated that his supervisor overturned the ruling without my knowledge and charged my card without giving me another chance to refute the charges. Now they are saying that they will escalate the matter to a specialist which I have not heard from in several days. I have taken up the matter with American Express to file a dispute and have gotten my attorney involved to file a fraudulent claim by the owner and a fraudulent charge by the company. I am looking to file a class action lawsuit to hopefully prevent this company from allowing scam artists to do this to other unsuspecting individuals.
Don’t rent from this company. They give the owners the benefit of the doubt and who use these vehicles to scam you since it is very difficult for them to make any real money through the services that they are trying to provide. Good concept but very poorly executed and bad service all around. It is unfortunate that my first two experiences trying this out were very positive and had to experience this last one.

Extremely disappointed at Turo's customer service. Be aware that everything will look fine and they will be extremely friend until you finalize the transaction and deliver the car, then they will find ways to forcefully make you pay for extra fees. Besides having had some technical problems with the car I rented, but having being flexible and not even having complained formally (just having told the car owner directly at the delivery site; to be considerate since it was the first time I was using the APP and didn't want to put the car owner in hot water). When the delivery day arrived I texted the car owner and we set a time and a location for the delivery that was convenient for him, btw very very far from my neighborhood, but it’s ok. We three (my friend and the car owner) would have dinner since we felt it was a chance for a good conversation.
The car was delivered and everything was fine until having received an email from Lucrecia (Turo's Customer care assistant) saying I would have to pay a fee of $150 + $25 admin fee for having delivered the car two hours late unless I sent and email in 24h with evidences that the car was delivered on time. Besides being an absurd amount (two hours would correspond to some days of car rental, they don’t respond or talk to you, just keep repeating a memorized paragraph) So I sent the email right away. I sent some emails with copy of the texts between us and the car owner proving that the car was delivered on time and the owner was ok with it, but Lucrecia from Turo would just keep repeating the same over and over saying the policy was I had to advise Turo and not the car owner and even it was my first time using the service, they couldn't waive the fee because that was the standard procedure.
If the standard procedure is to unduly charge a large amount and not even listen to the client, that's unacceptable. I asked to talk to her superior and she hasn't even addressed my request, not even answering to it. It's so clear they make a percentage of those unduly high fees charged on your CC after you think everything is OK. Also there's no phone number you can call. Please avoid this service to protect your pocket and your peace of mind. What looks like a good deal will cost you infinitely more. Unfortunately it was highly disappointing since I though it was an amazing alternative to rental Agencies.

So I just paid $450 to rent a car for four days which was advertised as ‘Instant Rental.’ My card was ‘instantly’ charged the full amount and then the host replied 1/2 hr later stating he was out of town and that the car was unavailable. I requested an immediate refund from Turo but their policy is 3-5 business days to process a refund even though the host had canceled the rental. The emails from support only offer to find me another rental but why would I do that having been burned the first time and Turo’s seeming lack of concern stating ‘most hosts actively de-list their cars when unavailable. Funny thing is, the host has another car still active on Turo even though he is ‘out of town on business.’ Something smells fishy. If you want a guaranteed rental car when you really need one, go to anyone but this company.

The closest, SAFE place I could get the car was a gravel parking lot. They were going to reimburse me until they heard about the parking lot. I broke their off-roading rule and now I lose. Lying host and unethical company. Spend the extra money and save yourself the hassle!! There were other issues, but I am going with the highlights. It could have ruined my vacation. Don't do it!!

I decided to try out Turo for the first time. I was making a trip to a city I had never been, for business. I don't usually purchase insurance on cars, but since this was my first time trying it out, I purchased the premium package. When I arrived at the airport the vehicle was ready for me which was nice. I also don't usually take photos of my rentals inside and out, but I did. Thankfully I took a photo of the license plate. I arrived at my rental apartment, parked the car on the top floor, two spots away from the door because it was raining. I rushed in because it was raining and I was getting wet. About three hours later I go to get in my car and it is gone. I combed the entire parking garage which was only 3 levels and not very big. As I physically searched the garage myself I did not see the car. I also pushed the panic button and it did not register the alarm.
I found security, he did the same thing as we called the towing company and the nonemergency police line. The car was not there, the towing company did not have it, so I called the owner, he also did not have it. The owner filed a report on the vehicle and I gave him his key fob back. The owner told me he had another car I could use. It was in the shop, but it would be ready by the following afternoon. I took several Ubers while waiting for the backup vehicle. About an hour before needing to make a run to the airport, the owner informs me that Turo will not allow him to give me another vehicle because it is under investigation. Shortly after that I got a call from their investigation team to give my report and was again informed that they will not give me a replacement vehicle. During the call, they made it seem like I stole the vehicle myself! I am from out of town and have a return flight in 4 days, I don't plan on keeping your car.
I am now without a vehicle, need to pick someone up from the airport for a meeting we need to attend. In a panic, I rushed to the nearest Blue Indy car share kiosk which did not work, all cars were taken, so again, I had to revert to now two Ubers for my colleague and I to make it to our appointment from two separate locations, the fees are racking up. I went online and the rental cars I was previously looking at prior to the trip for $300 were now going for a significantly cheaper rate thankfully, $80. I rented a car, took another Uber to pick it up, and was on my way. The whole day was insanely stressful. This has never happened before. That night as we are driving through the garage I spot the same type of car I rented, on a different level, different section of the garage. I stop, pull up my Turo app, check the license plate listed on the rental agreement and it doesn't match the car in front of me.
When I return home from my trip, on a whim, I pull up the photos I took of the vehicle and realize the license plate number listed on the Turo rental doesn't match the photo of the plate that I took. I immediately call the apartment and the car owner and say, "Can you go check the garage, it may be your vehicle after all." It was indeed the vehicle. It was on a different level than the one I parked on but it was back. Turo sends me a message saying they are charging me a $200 late return fee! The entire rental for less than 4 days was about $225. They want to charge me $200 for it being returned one day past the due date. I would have been able to identify the vehicle before the rental was due for return had the correct license plate been listed and had the key fob worked. For all I know the owner came and picked up the vehicle then returned it.
The owner said it could have been left on and I didn't realize it since it is an electric vehicle and you can't tell when it is on or off. He said someone may have used it to run an errand and get out of the rain and brought it back to the apartment complex since the key wasn't with the vehicle it will run until you turn it off or the battery dies. Turo told me the vehicle was never stolen, I just forgot where I parked. I can assure you that is not the case. I live in Vegas where the parking garages are 20 times bigger than this garage. I have rented over 50 vehicles, and I can promise you this has never been an issue. I parked on the top floor in the rain. The car was found on a lower level not near the entrance door. I had 4 large bags and was carrying them all on my own. I know for a matter of fact, that I did not just forget where I parked. Me AND the security guard went through the entire garage individually when the car was missing.
The owner admitted to having the wrong plate listed. The owner also looked in the wrong garage when he came to see for himself even though I gave him specific instruction as to where the car was when I last saw it. Bottom line, Turo does not have the renter's interest at heart. I spoke with Lovejit from Turo and he was completely one sided in his views and kept telling me I was at fault for everything. The owner also informed me that Turo kept pressuring him to file the charge for the $200. I have never been treated so terribly by a company in my entire life. Bottom line, the car would have been identified sooner had the license plate info. been correct, or the key fob worked.
The owner thanked me for my due diligence in helping recover the car. It could have sat in the parking garage indefinitely and never been recovered. Turo should make tracking devices mandatory for all rental vehicles, it seems like common sense. Information should be verified for their rentals eg: license plates (kind of a big deal). They definitely need to work on their customer service, because it is beyond terrible. I wish I could post some of the correspondence e-mails. I was shocked. Clean up your game, Turo.

I had a bad feeling early on as when Turo sent a welcome email and gave a link to support, it didn't work, referred me to another link and I got an error message. Then on every page under the welcome from each car owner, it says click here for your $25 discount or something like that. But the link doesn't click, I found a tab or something about the discount but then couldn't find it again... multiple issues with their links, the website, and now I am charged a $25 delivery fee even though the owner did not list that as a cost on his page.
The delivery of the vehicle in Mpls was ok, the car was ok but made a screeching noise. Two days before my trip ended I texted the owner about where to meet to return it. This should have been written out with a map and given to me when I got the car but nothing is handled professionally or with any common sense. He gives me an address of a restaurant to meet in the parking lot but google maps street view doesn't show a restaurant so I tell him I can't find it. He gives me another address and says it's 4 miles from the airport.
I was visiting my family and dealing with health crises and didn't have time to do his job for him so I said I'd google it and I'm an optimist... thinking everything will work out. He offered no help on directions... shortcuts, landmarks... nothing. So I leave this morning and follow the google map route that did look fairly easy but when I actually got to the interchange etc. it was confusing and I had no idea which way to go... again nothing had been clarified for me. I had gone in circles, around corners, etc. trying to get to the 55 which on the map clearly showed an exit to 50th street but I knew I was lost and getting very upset. I pulled into a gas station to pull up the voice directions. Just then the owner called and asked if I was "close"... he was waiting for me.
And by the way, I had changed the meeting time later by half an hour as when I arrived in Mpls, I realized I had left too much time to get from the plane to the front curb and he wasn't ready but he did get the car to me without too much delay. More on this later. Since he and I had communicated about the pick up and time I assumed the 1/2 hour time change for delivery was done the same way. After all, it's only between us; it never occurred that it had to be done on the app and I was too busy trying to get UN lost to think of the app.
So, I'm at the gas station getting more anxious by the minute and I texted that I was lost. His only response was "ok"??? Then he called and he has an accent so it's hard to understand him, but he said meet me at the Delta terminal instead. I replied that I had no idea how to get back to 494 but I was on my own and had to keep pushing forward somehow. I did manage to get back to the freeway and got off on the terminal exit.
Well, I am not familiar with the Mpls terminal either and took a ramp for Departures. It was clogged with cars and people but I got to the U-turn and found myself going down a ramp away from the terminal. Somehow I crossed lanes and got onto a Return to Terminal ramp and drove around the circle again. Up the ramp and again I find myself on the one side that would lead me away from the terminals. Then I looked at the other lane and saw that it was one way in the same direction but I hadn't seen any sign or entrance so I could get to Delta that way... and it would mean another circle around with the clock ticking. He called and I told him what was happening but I couldn't talk with all of this going on. I came around again and finally just pulled over to the curb and got my bags and went across the median to the Delta terminal..then had to walk what seemed like two miles to get to my gate, and got in at the last minute.
I get home, exhausted and frustrated, and get an email saying I am charged a $100 fee for not turning the car in on time... I was late because I was lost!!then a $25 dollar delivery fee is added which is not mentioned on his page at all. They claim that I extended my trip and I was supposed to change things on the app although I don't recall seeing any instructions like that or any warnings. I did not EXTEND the damn trip... I was wandering around because this guy does not communicate, does not have the smarts to think ahead and provide a map or directions to where he wants to meet... etc.
And a heads up about the terminal one way lanes would have been really helpful. I am contesting the late fee as this was not my choice but I am convinced that Turo is a scam and they clearly don't guide the car owners to be pro-active and use some common sense. I told Turo I would post negative reviews everywhere I could and this is the first. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience and I will go down fighting (I'm 77) before they'll scam me for $100 for this.

Everything went great with the car owner. I got there and started the Turo app, and pressed "Check In". I checked the car, the owner checked my license, I did the safety and orientation of the car, and I left. But, now that I got home, the app doesn't indicate that my ride started, and I can't figure out how to remedy that. This seems like a horrible error in their programming. It took me 5 minutes to go through a million unrelated messages about how to fix problems I'm not having, and finally it put me in the chat queue at position 1. I have been in the chat queue for 40 minutes, but the app just reset my queue position to 7.
The app is buggy, the app has a poor UI, the app asks too many questions to contact customer service, the customer service is bad, and it seems as though the people designing and programming the system don't work there anymore, because all of these issues are obvious simple things that should have been fixed long ago and any Engineer CEO would fix immediately and effortlessly.

When I went to pick up the car, I learned that the family hadn't owned the car for two years and the guy on the account wasn't in the country so I couldn't ask him what had happened. Turo was very good about refunding the amount I had already paid immediately, and I was able to borrow a car but if I really needed THIS car I would have been way out of luck. The explanation Turo gave was that it was an "auto-book" so although it looked to me as if the owner had approved my rental, in fact it had never gone to him. Still this is a HUGE red flag and based on this experience I will NEVER RENT A TURO CAR. Their app and staff has got to be smarter than to rent out cars based on two year old information and with no follow up from the owner prior to rental. What?!
I was visiting my family and wanted to rent a car. It is quite expensive as I do not have car insurance, and I was told Turo would be cheaper. It really wasn't once I calculated in all the costs but I wanted to try it out anyway because I like the idea of being able to share a resource that isn't being used. Lesson learned, I will never rent a car from a similar service (Turo will never have my business now) unless I have personally communicated with the owner. However having used Airbnb for close to ten years with never a problem like this, I went in with full confidence but not all services are the same!

I rented a Jeep in Hawaii and drove it for 3 days. On the way back to drop off the vehicle, plastic piece that surrounds the wheel well fell off while driving on a straight road on a crystal clear day at 40 mph. At first I was told that under the conditions I agreed to, I was liable for any damage that was not there when I originally picked up the car.
I pointed out to Richard in the claims department that this simply wasn't true as there are several exemptions (including a mechanical failure/defect that results in damage that occurs due to normal usage) and asked why this incident didn't fall under the exemption I was told that since I could not prove that it didn't fall under the exemption there was no reason to think that this shouldn't be covered. I asked how I would go about proving that a piece to a car was about to fall off when it was not obvious from looking at the vehicle, I was not provided an answer, instead I was read why he made his determination.
The reason for why I was on the hook... the car simply came back without a piece that was there when it left. I purchased the basic rental insurance so no problem, right? WRONG. The rental insurance they provide, even their top tier, is SECONDARY to the renter's personal auto policy. So now there will be an insurance claim against me for something that was 100% not my fault. STAY AWAY.

I have rented for years with Turo, some good some bad. The past few times I’ve rented there have been car issues. I was recently on vacation in Orlando with my family. Rented one vehicle. There were mechanical issues with vehicle, returned vehicle no problem. In the meantime was trying to rent another Turo vehicle because we needed a vehicle. Unfortunately with Turo in order to talk with the Host of a vehicle you have to book a vehicle. I found a vehicle, a Dodge Caliber with Matt, to rent. Once I spoke with him he could not accommodate an airport return pickup. So I canceled the vehicle. Apparently I missed the 1 hr cancellation policy by 2 minutes according to my text line on turo but when I disputed with Turo customer support it was 6 minutes. So 6 minutes late Cost me $279 for a vehicle I didn’t use because the host could not accommodate according to my travel needs.
Turo's policy of having to book a vehicle which you are charged for in order to communicate with host of the vehicle to see if they can even accommodate your travel needs is very bad business. Support was very unhelpful, understanding, or accommodating considering the issue I was already having with 1 of their vehicles, trying to get to my hotel and finding another vehicle. They have lost a customer and I will no longer do business with them. Read the fine print on their policy page before renting.

So far my experience with Turo has been good. I had 3 instances where cancellations were made by negligent hosts, but at the same time I met some amazing hosts. Only complaint is the underage fee (30% for under 25) which is just insanely high. They assume people under 25 are crazy, and its bad for their business too.
My bad experiences: Host pulled a no show and I noticed his plates don’t match his car. Staff was responsive and gave me 50$ credit for the hassle. Host showed up with expired stickers and told me it's “okay”. Again Turo was very responsive, but their booking department failed to find another car for me. 25$ credit then another 50$ after I complained. Host contacted me about issue with car, and was very upfront. He told me he broke the rim on the pothole, and that the car was vibrating at 100+ kph. I appreciated his honesty and made no complaints to Turo.
Otherwise everything is great. They just need to take down the unreasonable 30% under 25 fee, it's just absurd. If anything they should be supporting students by giving them student discounts. I hope they can keep up the good service. I see a lot of bad reviews but it's mostly the hosts’ faults and not Turo corp. Turo also has a number in Canada so I don’t see why others are claiming they have no number!

The next day I was given a $75 cleaning fee which is crazy because the car had small amounts of dust on the outside (desert environment). I have no issue paying for a car wash but $75 is a crazy fee. I sent an e-mail to inquire because I was told it was due to a smoke smell in the vehicle and I DO NOT smoke. I didn't receive a reply until the end of the week just informing me it doesn't matter and my fee has been sent to a collection agency. So instead of just talking with me they go 0-100 real quick. I will absolutely never use Turo again. I was charged a "fine" by a renter and was given no opportunity to have it removed by Turo. It was to have the vehicle washed although the rental was for 11 days in rainy weather driven on highways only. I've rented from rental companies dozens of times in Anchorage, AK and the condition it was returned is absolutely 100% common and they would and have never unscrupulously charged the renter extra to have it washed. Shady practice to allow these charges to occur. I contacted the renter and they said it should have been returned fully detailed, really? What other rental company would have the audacity to make such a comment. Also I picked up the vehicle and the windshield had over 12 chips in it and two major cracks of 8 inches or longer across the windshield, making it difficult to see out of the vehicle.
Additionally, the owner would not greet me upon return curbside at the departure terminal as promised. At the last minute they told me to park it in a parking structure, so I had to find parking and then rent a cart to travel the much longer distance to the airport terminal which caused a major delay. Unprofessional and flaky behavior that using Turo subjected me to and adding insult to injury I'm charged extra without my consent and when I called customer service the rep said that's the policy and they can't and wouldn't do any thing to assist removing the extra fees. I'm surprised I wasn't charged for an oil change and new brakes! Also it's always a gamble that you will arrive to your destination and have a rental vehicle, because Turo allows the owner to cancel the rental contract at any time. No trust, safety issues, and shady one-sided policies will cause me to stay away from Turo.

I just paid $931 for a cheap, dirty unsafe car, because of $3 per mileage x158 miles over the allowed 1000 miles. Why would Turo let this owner charge that much for this bad car??? I have never had an issue with Turo or other car share programs with mileage until now. I did see 1000 miles over 2 weeks. I was not concerned, as it's never been an issue and I was only staying local in the Chicago far west suburbs. If I had seen the $3. per mileage over, I would have gotten a different car, or negotiated ahead of time. It's ludicrous that I am paying DOUBLE for a 2010 dirty vehicle. [Yes the carpet has not been vacuumed or cleaned in some time.]
The other safety concerns were: Bad tires that spun out with the slightest acceleration from a stop light, even in dry payment. Faulty driver's window that would not stay up automatically [this happened 9 days into my trip]. The locks that would not open, when the car was shut off and key removed AND drivers door opened. [This may be Honda issue, but it was not easy with elderly passengers.] Austin has 2 very old, cheap cars [he lives in Marion, IN 200 miles away from Ohare Airport] and he hopes that he can cash in on your mistakes. I am a traveler, the father of an extraordinary family. We are five. We love to try new adventures, we believe in people's kindness and honesty. We are sensitive to the local economy and small businesses and we like to encourage people before businesses. In this state of mind, we decided for our one-month trip to Maui to trust Turo for the rental of our car. Big mistake. All did not go well and I tell you this incredible story. On January 1st, 2018, my little family and I decide to plan a trip to the paradise islands of Hawaii. We plan to travel the 1st to the 31 of July 2018. From the month of January, we decide to book our car with Turo. This is a website that allows car rental between individuals. Turo facilitates this exchange. Six months in advance, we reserve a vehicle. Unfortunately on May 25, 2018, a month before our departure, the owner of the car decides to cancel.
Of course, with Turo, the two stakeholders of the lease are bound by a contract and it is allowed to break it according to the rules of the game. The first risk of failure is here. Since this is an exchange between individuals there are many instabilities and what is likely to happen is that the landlord cancels the contract. A month before our trip we find ourselves without a vehicle. These are things that can happen, but the fact remains that the experience is very disappointing. We are adventurous and optimistic and decide to give a second chance to the runner and try with another person to rent another vehicle. The payment is made, everything seems to go well and the exchanges are cordial. On June 30, the day before we leave, we communicate via Turo with the landlord and explain that the flight will be delayed by a few hours. Instead of 10 o'clock in the morning we will arrive around two o'clock in the afternoon.
We have a confirmation of reading of our message by the landlord. Day of our departure, we are very happy to leave for this new adventure, we clarify a second time our arrival with the landlord and we leave. Arrival at the airport, he comes to pick us up and it is here that the problems arise. While we rented a respectable 2006 minivan, he arrives with a dilapidated vehicle from the 1990s. He explains that since the reservation of our vehicle was for 10 o'clock in the morning and it is 2 pm he canceled the contract and rented the vehicle that was destined to us to someone else. We arrive from an international flight of twelve hours. It is of course impossible to control everything. He offers the old pile of scrap in exchange. We are not afraid and love adventure, we are tempted to accept it. Unfortunately, the vehicle is not yet in its name, the plate transfer is not quite complete yet.
We start to sniff the scam and to settle our dispute we have to call the police. We are in another country, tired of our trip, with three children running out of patience. It's been almost 18 hours since we slept. Fortunately, my spouse is perfectly bilingual and can communicate and we can organize, but imagine the horror if we were in another country with a foreign language. After long hours of discussions, a good dose of adrenaline and stress, we find ourselves, two adults, three children and a mountain of luggage on the side of the street without a vehicle. Here is the story of the beginning of this adventure. If you want my advice, do not leave with Turo. The risks are far too great, there is a good chance that the experience will be too much complicated.

I absolutely do not recommend renting from Turo. The main reason is because the person you are renting the vehicle from can just cancel everything all of a sudden, which can be a huge inconvenience! I tried to rent another vehicle and the owner declined my trip. The note said something about the vehicle needing repairs, yet it was still posted on Turo afterwards. Not everyone rent a vehicle for leisure. Some of us actually have important appointments to get to!
If you rent a vehicle from a typical rental place, yes, you will have to have a credit card, but at the same time, you will not have to worry about them cancelling your reservation!! On top of that, I texted Dan who claimed he would help me and that I could text him. I texted him asking how long it would take for a refund to be completed. After an hour, I did not hear back from him. I tried live chat. After over 50 minutes no one came. At first I was number 24. Then I saw something to click on to resume the chat. Before clicking that I was number 7. After clicking on that, I was number 18! I have never experienced anything like this before.

We tried 3 different times to use Turo and we're unuccessful every time. The first time, we reserved a car and had to wait 30 minutes before we could even try to book again. Once he did not confirm, we tried again and the exact same thing happened. Finally, we booked a car that was guaranteed. We never heard from the person and paid a taxi to go pick up the car at the address that was provided. When we arrived, it was a apartment complex and he was nowhere to be found. He did not answer his text messages and he did not answer his phone calls. Avoid this company at all costs! Very dissatisfied customer.

We rented a Hummer in Hawaii with about 31k miles on it. This was our first Turo experience and were initially excited for the Hummer experience. While driving the Hummer started to overheat. Then the check engine light came on. Shortly after a "SERV TMP" alert came on the dash. So, the car started falling apart. I alerted the host as it's generally encouraged to handle any problems with the host before contacting the service. I messaged the host, and he admitted that he didn't have time in between the last renter and us to get the car serviced. He apologized but didn't offer another car or anything else. We were not told there were problems with the car or else we would not have rented it. Anyway, we blasted the heat in the car even though we were in Hawaii in the middle of July so it's hot AF, but we got by.
I logged into Turo and I see there's a $125 charge for "cleaning fees" on the account and I'm barred from renting another car. The customer service agent said the exterior was dirty. Really, some mud on the outside warranted $100 by Turo's standards is "HEAVY CLEANING - $100 Major stains or residue on seat fabric or other hard-to-clean surfaces." This didn't exist on the car at all.
The host chose this fee to try and make more money, probably to fix all the car problems! At this point I'm mad. I tell Turo that the car was in barely usable condition, and that their terms and conditions require that this be disclosed to renters prior to the trip taking place. They couldn't care less. They just said they'll report it to management and someone will follow up with me. They also said it was up to the renter to report this, and because we "had the car the entire time" it was somehow not an issue. This is BS. God forbid the car break down when we were on one-lane roads alongside a cliff.
Turo clearly doesn't have a checks and balances to see if the fees the hosts want to charge are even warranted, and in their Terms it states the renter has to pay any fees, otherwise they will come after you with Collections. Who knows if the host will even be charged for violating the terms of providing a safe vehicle with all mechanical issues known up front. Turo doesn't care, as long as they get their admin fees as a middleman.

We rented a truck through Turo while vacationing in Oregon. The truck was very dirty inside and out, with severe damage on the passenger door (so much so, that the key could not be used on the passenger door). This was NOT revealed in any of the photos that were posted in the listing. Worse, the truck did not sound right as we drove away from the airport. Within 24 hours, it began to stall. Within 48 hours it completely broke down, leaving us stranded in a town with no other car rentals (also, there were no Uber, Lyft, taxis, etc).
We had to hitchhike to a nearby store. We continuously tried to contact Turo's customer support from the beginning. It has been over a week, and we still haven't been able to get a hold of anyone. All we want is a refund. We paid for 6 days. The 48 hours we had the vehicle were incredibly scary since we had to push it off a busy highway at one point. It's unbelievable that the company will not speak to us. (I just logged onto my Turo account before submitting this review. There were no messages from support. However, I am no longer approved to drive and my account status says that I am unable to rent a vehicle through them!)
