Very accommodating and easy. The breaks on the car I rented were kind of squeaky but otherwise - the experience was great! I was pleased with the service, the rate, as well as the gas mileage that the car got. Overall - it was a really great time.

Was the easiest car transaction I had ever experienced. Sarven was accommodating and was excellent with his service for both the pick up and drop off. The vehicle was clean and a great drive. I will definitely be using this same service on my next visit to LA.

I would for sure recommend Turo. The efficiency of renting was superb. I was treated very well and car was super clean and well kept. The car was ready when needed with no delays. I felt safe using the car and there was ease in the transaction. Thanks. Love it!!!

I loved it until we ran into Issues with the app and customer service. It caused me not to be able to extend my trip. After time lapses, they don't have it set up to allow an extension even with owners permission. I was told to end my trip and re-book but when I did Turo would not allow me to re-book to bridge the gap. It was very frustrating.

We rented an SUV for a ski trip to Steamboat Springs and our car, the owner and the experience couldn't have been better. We had great communication with the owner, the TURO site was very easy to navigate, and it was less expensive with better vehicles than a rental car company. This will be my go-to rental app from now on.

We have rented from Turo a few times now and every time we had to use them it has been very easy to use. The customer service is outstanding and we would highly recommend them to anyone! The app is easy to use and the communication is awesome!

Yet another whole new industry has popped up... renting private cars! I didn't realize it, but the car I rented was actually owned by a new-car dealer. I guess that's fine, though such players might just push out actual private-car owners. There was some clunkiness in communication and timeliness of the arrival of our car. I really like that one chooses the specific car they'll rent, not just a "Mid-Size Car" like standard rentals. I chose the car I did because they delivered (with some restriction of location) free, and allowed up to 200 miles- which is enough for most renters.

You can't compete with the simplicity, prices, and accessibility this app provides. Everything from searching, booking, communicating, pick up, and drop off are more than efficient. Especially with getting to pick the exact vehicle! Cannot wait to see what I rent next.

My experience with Turo was way better than I was expecting: from selection of the car itself (through their mobile platform) to the delivery and ultimately the return, everything was way better than great. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to change their car rental experience and get the opportunity to drive cars that just aren't available through traditional rental fleets. I'll be returning to Turo many times and recommend you do, too.

First time to use Turo. Google helped me find them as I was looking for a manual transmission Jeep soft top. The website/app was frustrating as it didn’t give me fields to enter my credit card at checkout. After a call to their Customer Service line, after much discussion, he was able to tell me you have to load your credit card information in under your Profile - Accounts and then it will prepopulate on the order screen. The Jeep’s owner, Daniel ** was great. Gave me good instructions on removing the soft top and he was very easygoing and flexible. I have already recommended Turo three times.

Rented through Turo for the first time. It was great! We had good communication with the person who rented us their vehicle. We had a departure delay from the airline and the renter worked with us to make a seamless hand-off. Pleased with vehicle. Will definitely rent again.

With Turo, there are fewer hoops to jump through to rent a car. Booking a Turo trip takes less time than on typical rental sites. Downside to Turo is you never truly know the condition of the car you are renting until pickup. The car might smell like cigarette smoke or have some interior stains that you wouldn't notice from pics. Also, the tires or brakes on the car may not be up to one's standards. With major rental car companies, quality standards are higher and you know you're getting a newer vehicle in great condition.

I love this app because it’s very easy and simple. Some cars have deposited but it’s only 100. The prices are cheap. It’s like driving your own car. I recommend This app to anyone. Even if it’s for a weekend trip or just some running that needs to be done. This app is my go to!

Requested reimbursement for cleaning and smoking fees for renters that TRASHED my vehicle and left garbage in every corner of my vehicle, smoked ** in my vehicle, left ** vape cartridges. Did not attempt to clean the outside which was covered in mud. When I contacted TURO regarding the damages they were not helpful and did not reimburse me for the cleaning or smoking fees which they advertise they will. They do not care about the HOST and are blatantly lying about their so called reimbursement and their services. Do not use TURO as a host unless it is a vehicle you do not care about at all.

I rented 2 cars in LA and the exchange was much easier and faster than the Turo I got in Missouri. The downside of it being faster is that the owner doesn't protect the driver like they should. It is not convenient to take pictures of outside and inside of car as well as the gas and miles, but it does protect me from any unwanted charges. I am very pleased with the support I have received from day 1 for signing in with Turo. Good job!

I understand the need for a refundable deposit for some rentals but there’s no way you should have to wait 4 days after you’ve returned the vehicle to have your money returned... Once my trip is confirmed to be over my money should be released back into my card...

This was the most seamless rental car experience I’ve ever had. I can’t thank the creator of Turo enough. I don’t know if I’d ever use a standard rental car company again. There was no credit card holds and extra processing fees. I wasn’t hassled about who’s driving and insurance. I entered my choices and that was final. It’s good to know what you want and get it without all the hassle.

I paid an extra hundred dollars for deposit. You all sent me an email saying it would be in my account. I have yet to receive it. I’m just really concerned of what happened. As far as renting from the gentleman everything went fine with the rental. I have no complaints there but I am just curious of where my deposit is.

The main consideration for you is whether or not you want the kind of customer service that comes with a company that actually has core competencies to rent and maintain cars to you. If you use Turo make sure you take photos of the car and walk around it with the owner before you drive away. Make sure you do the full check out when you drop off the car by uploading photos. I didn’t and I’m convinced that the owner of the car got money from me to fix things that were already small and damaged. The car owner kept insisting we settle it ourselves because Turo charges an extra percent to help settle. I purchased additional insurance through Turo since it was my first time using the service and it will be useless I guess unless the car is totaled and personal insurance is exhausted.
I’m thinking the main thing is that individuals really aren’t I. The business of car rental and if they were they would have to realize that with the opportunity to rent their car they assume some cost of doing business. I feel Turo is making money off the backs of lots of people and many people who are Renting cars should not be doing so. I also had major issues with the app and kept thinking it was me or my phone but I’m certain now it was not. It made things difficult. I initially was so excited about the Turo idea but my experience, and after a $1,100 bill due to damage on the underside of the right bumper, leaves me feeling like I’ve got to go back to the experts who are in the business of renting and maintaining a vehicle fleet. As an early adopter of new ideas and models I’d love to try this again but the sting was too great.

I loved the vehicle my son and I picked out! It's the first time I have ever rented a vehicle and we had the best experience ever. The owner had the vehicle in place for us when we go to the airport, paid for the parking and the car was in pristine condition. I will definitely be using Turo for my travel needs in the future.

The way to rent the car is great. But I do feel that you allow the owners to overcharged. I have rented twice and took the car to a detail car wash. And still got car wash charges. There shouldn't be any car wash rental charge when both rentals were giving to me unwashed.

I was referred to Turo from a close friend, I had never heard of it before. The selection of cars is broad and diverse, the car owner was a pleasure to deal with, and the Turo app is very easy to navigate and use. I saved over $400 by using Turo instead of renting a car for 6 days through a car rental agency. I will always use Turo whenever I go on trips or if the need ever arises locally.

I've used rental car companies for years. This was just as easy, a higher quality car for a lower price. All covered by good insurance. I will use it again on future trips. The app has many options that I don't fully understand just yet, but it worked well.

I think since it was my first experience with Turo I was a little different for me. Once I've figured out how to work through the app it was easier. Turo as an app and the ease of which you don't have to deal with BS on the front side is pretty ok. Turo as a company and service that takes care of its customers and is upfront about their policies, worst ever. Purchasing insurance, no matter how much, from the Turo app is completely useless if you have your own personal car insurance covering any other vehicles. The wording in the small print says "any protection package you select when booking your vehicle, if one is offered via Turo, will not be available to you until your personal insurance has been exhausted. "- under Specific terms for guests.
So, you can pay an additional $150 for an insurance plan with Turo and it be completely useless in the event that you need it if you carry your own insurance for your own car back home or wherever you have another vehicle. Then, once your own insurance pays the bill in case of an accident, minus your deductible, Turo charges an additional $150 in fees which I believe should have been requested from my insurance. Finally, when I was trying to sort out all of the additional fees their customer service team sends either automated or scripted responses that do not answer questions. Then when you schedule a phone call they miss the call time and continue to email. Overall, I rate them 1 star and will be resuming my relationship with Hertz. Have a nice day.

I really enjoyed being able to select the exact vehicle I would be driving during my stay in California. I didn't need a vehicle for the first three days of my trip. The owner of the Tesla I borrowed delivered the vehicle to me at my hotel. WAY better than catching a shuttle, waiting in line, being upsold garbage add-ons at rental counter etc. ...AND, after several days of cruising around L.A. and San Diego, I get curbside dropoff at the airport. Turo is my new first choice for auto rentals!

I think the overall experience was great, however the restrictions made me very uncomfortable and prevented me from really enjoying my experience. The restrictions make the consumers so uneasy to even drive the vehicles without the worry of something going wrong in the end or being unjustly charged. I had my very first experience this past weekend and probably will not be using the platform going forward.

I used the car for a trip to Tahoe in the winter, and found that it was easier than a traditional car rental and somewhat cheaper and I received the car I wanted with all of the features I needed for my trip. It was also great having the car delivered to my office. Love it.

I love this concept of renting actual cars I want to drive, especially unique ones and rare. I always do that and every time I do, the first car I rent out has some major flaw and I need to bring it back to swap out. I don't consider this a bad thing because I get to drive two cars then and the owners will work with me to upgrade me and/or discount me as well and I still get to have fun. Cars aren't perfect and require maintaining so I'm flexible. As long as I get to point A and B, I'm happy.

Enjoyed the flexibility and ease of use. I picked up the car 930 pm at night. Not many rental place could do that and it was same day on a 7 person SUV. Plus overall cheaper than rental store. Everyone’s had been polite and prompt. One person did cancel due to a slow leak in the tire with a day before pickup date. I am in between cars, window shopping, this gives me a chance to explore some options and test drive difference cars while I decide. It’s been wonderful! Turo is simply amazing. As someone who travels for business often, Turo has saved me time and stress. I love that I don't have to wait in the rental car lines and also that I can take care of everything (car selection, payment, etc.) all via the app. It's also nice supporting local residents vs. large corporations! 10/10 would recommend using Turo!

Since the first time I used Turo 2 years ago I have chosen to use their service everytime I rent a vehicle. I like supporting individuals who are earning extra money this way and have had no issues to date. Highly recommend others try it for themselves. Beats standing in line to meet with someone behind a counter and filling out lots of paperwork when you are ready to just start your trip. With Turo it is all done in advance.

My worst travel experience to date got its start, and is still continuing, due to a myriad of Turo issues. To keep a very long story somewhat short, my boyfriend and I lost 4 hours of a trip that was less than 48 hours total (our entire allotted time for the beach) due to Turo. Turo's renter confirmed with us at 11:50 PM the night prior that our car would be ready and waiting for us at 9:30 AM upon our arrival the next morning.
The car never arrived, the rental company was not even open, no calls/messages were responded to, and after paying for an Uber to the rental company after waiting over an hour at the airport (when promised we would be met at the airport with the car), we waited an additional 1.5 hours for while a neighboring mechanic shop called an employee they knew worked at the rental company and the poor girl drove 40 minutes on her day off to get us our car. This would not even have come to be if I didn't happen to know basic Spanish and was able to communicate with the mechanics at the neighboring shop.
Turo had a golden opportunity here to bolster their company name and provide me with compensation or credit for my time wasted and awful situation. However, they did not take that opportunity. When I called, the customer service representative told me that all they could do is post a $20 travel credit to my Turo account for the next time I wanted to rent with Turo, and they could refund me the amount for the Uber trip. No direction or protocol was relayed to me, just that the refund would be back on the card I paid on within 3-5 business days.
After 5 business days, I check my bank account and see no refund for my Uber trip. I checked through my email and found an email from Turo directing me to send receipts of my Uber trips to them to get the refund (I was never told this). I immediately attach the receipts and try to return the email, only to get a message that this email no longer accepts responses. I try to call Turo, but at that point had used my lunch break and could not.
The next day, I get on my Turo account and attach the receipts to a direct message on their platform. This is followed by an email informing me that they can no longer do a refund because too much time has passed (Again, never communicated that there was a "cut-off" date), but can instead give the amount I spent on Ubers as additional credit for my next Turo trip. I will use the credit the next time I travel simply because it's there, but I will NEVER be using Turo again after that. Worst experience with any travel product/service to date - and this includes a time I had to rebook tickets with Frontier Airlines and provide medical documentation. When it's worse than that, you know it's bad.

1st time using Turo. Great selection of cars to use in Las Vegas. Our host Gabriel had a very nice Camaro for us to use. Clean and on time. Longest part was taking pre and post pics of vehicle before and after our trip. Definitely will use again, much better than standard "rental car companies".

I tried Turo for the first time, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Choosing a car that satisfied my needs was easy. So was communicating with the car owner. I didn't understand the check-in procedures for picking up my first Turo vehicle; the owner called me about an hour into my trip to ask if I'd gotten the car, and that's when I realized I'd totally spaced out on that. I'm sure it was in the instructions you sent, but there were a lot of emails and I guess I didn't read them all. Perhaps a text reminder at the scheduled time of pick-up? It's a great system - protects both driver and vehicle owner - but only if it's utilized!

This was the first trip I have been on where I used Turo. I went through two separate individuals and they were both very accommodating and flexible with my travel plans. The mobile app for iPhone is very easy to navigate and the notifications are helpful throughout the trip. I initially was going to rent a vehicle through a rental agency but found that Turo was not only cheaper, but a lot more casual and personal than going through a business. I would recommend using this service to any of my friends or family and give this experience a 5 out of 5 rating. Keep up the good work Turo!

We rented a 2015 Nissan using the Turo App. We had clear and accurate explanations, communications and directions. Our cost was about 1/2 of what a traditional rental car agency would cost. I do not know about renting an older car from an individual because we rented from a auto shop owner who had 40 cars and he said ours was one of the newer ones.

Overall, the service works, but here are what I hope to be some constructive critiques... The airport pickup was kind of ridiculous. I was at the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida & the car owner was taking pictures & so was I, all while airport security is threatening to put us in jail if we don’t leave the pickup area. It was a nightmare. I think if there was damage to the car I might not have even seen it or been able to photograph it. I honestly might never use Turo again because of this... The airport pickup/drop off seemed so amazing as an option online but was definitely too good to be true in real life.
Second, neither I nor the car owner had any idea about the insurance. I purchased it but then had no idea how to access it, if I would have needed to. I would suggest at least a separate email coming to me explaining the insurance procedure, or even a tab somewhere on your app that I could access with the info in the event that I needed it. Excellent experience, nice vehicle at a reasonable price. Highly recommend using Turo vs reserving through a commercial car rental facility. One of the biggest advantages is having a direct line of communication to the owner of the vehicle on the Turo app.

We had a very easy time finding a vehicle with the Turo app. The filters were easy to use although I wish the tax and other fees would be more included upfront rather than when you get so close to checking out. Overall is a very useful app especially if you want to do same day rental without a reservation.

This was the first time I used Turo. I was hesitant at the thought of renting someone's personal vehicle. However, after renting a vehicle in Salt Lake City, I was very pleased. We were able to rent a much nicer vehicle than we could have rented with any car rental service and the price was cheaper. Pick up, drop off and communication were excellent. Sign up, pick the car you want, follow instructions from you host and it goes well. I’ve used it twice and haven’t had an issue. Both my hosts have been great. It sure beats having to wait in line for a rental.

My recent trip went well and I gave our car provider a good review. A day after returning to my trip I was alerted that I was being charged an additional charge of $43.00. The car was not dirty upon return and I was charged $30. This was my first time using Turo and I felt I was at the mercy of the host because this was my first trip and I wanted to be able to rent again, but after thinking about it (and what I inevitably had to end up paying) I could have just rented a car from Enterprise.

Scheduled a trip through Turo, paid for a ride to get to the car's location. Host was not even aware there was a trip scheduled and cancelled it twenty minutes after start time. We were left walking with no car. Called the customer service, stayed on the phone forty-five minutes. All they offered was a $25 credit. We had to both take time off work and now have to wait five days to get our money refunded. Incredibly unprofessional, they were laughing on the phone and being very rude. Hung up on me when I said that it was unacceptable to run a business like this. Also was informed that the "manager" does not speak with people and there is nothing they can or will do to make it right. So it ended up costing us a lot of money and time off work. Do not use this company.

I enjoy renting a car from Turo (2018 Nissan Sentra). The process of receiving the car was easy, convenient and professional. The process of returning the car was very convenient. I had no issues with the car as I rented the car for 7 days. When I had questions or concerns the owner replied promptly and in a timely matter to address my concerns. I will rent a vehicle from Turo again.

I was excited to book using the new rental app entitled Turo for a business trip that I had planned for this upcoming weekend. Upon booking the rental, the trip was accepted and the total amount was debited from my card which was not expected. Secondly, because of a flight change I wanted to return the rental later and could not unless I wanted to pay an additional $50 so I informed the owner and canceled the rental. Because of this mishap I will now have to wait an additional 3-5 business days for the money to be returned to my account. However they were able to take the fee immediately upon the owner accepting the rental agreement. I am highly disappointed and I doubt if I will ever try and use this rental app ever again. Watch out for them. It may not be worth the hassle.

I travel a lot for work and pleasure both, and rent cars quite a bit. I tried out Turo because why not? There's cool cars on there. I rented a car, had zero issues, and returned it with a full tank of gas. Days later, I got an email notifying me my account was deactivated and that Turo did not want people "like me" as customers. I thought there must've been a mistake, and I did a full inquiry into it with their customer service. They dug into it and said I didn't do anything wrong, but that Turo can refuse to rent cars to people and can deactivate accounts without reason. I asked if mine could be reactivated since I did nothing wrong and don't have an accident history, and they said no. I asked why, and they said they aren't obligated to disclose information on why my account was deactivated, or on why they can't reactivate it. Basically, be advised Turo has a cutting-edge customer abuse program.

This was my first time using Turo and I did have a bit of trepidation about how it would work. Everything worked as advertised! The owner showed up on time curbside at the airport and handed me the keys. Drop-off was just as easy! I also appreciated the vehicle owner’s responsiveness. I had downloaded this app in 2017. I just looked at it. Never even loaded my info. I suddenly found myself in need of a rental (my car went on the fritz) and I couldn’t rent from Enterprise (only location with an available vehicle was their airport location but I needed a flight scheduled)! I was going to drive up to LA area for an interview and decided to give Turo a try. Shocked is all I can say...I had my info inputted and my rental request approved in less than 10 minutes! And for half the price Enterprise was getting that week. The whole rental was seamless! Perfect in all aspects. Vehicle was a 2017 Escape that was immaculate when I received it! Highly recommend Turo to anyone!! They will be my first look at for now!!

It was absolutely painless. Quick shuttle service. FINE Parking Staff that Tyler uses is amazing and reassuring. Top notch professionalism and friendliness. I was pretty apprehensive before my first time booking with Turo, but the price alone was enough to try it at least once and I'm so glad I did! The last time we flew into Long Beach, I booked with a "major" rental company, arrived at the counter to get my vehicle, and there were none left even though I had made a reservation. This left our family scrambling at the terminal trying to make other arrangements... something I never want to go through again. With Turo, I was able to pick out the EXACT car I wanted, at the EXACT price I was willing to pay.
Also, the communication between the owner kept me feeling at ease, and the pick up and drop off went as planned. I will not hesitate to book with Turo again! My only advice is to contact your insurance company and find out if Turo is covered under your policy. Because they are so new, our agency was still figuring out the details of renting through Turo, so I ended up adding the insurance for my own peace of mind. Regardless, I still ended up saving a ton of money and getting a "fun" vehicle to zoom around the city with on our vacation. Happy Travels!!

Rental car companies can take a long time waiting, give you a lesser car than you thought, try to upsell you on more of a car you don't need, and put a massive hold on your credit card beyond the actual cost of the rental. Turo allowed me to communicate with the renter easily, I received a text upon plane landing where to find and how to unlock the car.
Options to pick up and their location or pay a nominal extra fee to have it waiting at the airport for ease! The App was awesome to help take pictures of all the current damages and dash readings making me feel a little better than the general walk around and let us know if its ok from the rental companies. Will definitely use again!

I could not have asked for better service... met us with the car at the curbside right on time and did not require a ride anywhere. We went over the car together and we were off. The car was well maintained, full of fuel, and we were off. They even came and picked the car up. It was a seamless experience and about 1/2 the cost of a car rental agency. Would highly recommend!

As of February 2019, this was my first experience with using TURO and it was a great one. I needed a specific car that the regular big car companies couldn’t guarantee me with, so I went with TURO. It was easy to check out the vehicle, communicate with the vehicle owner, and start/lock/unlock the rental car all on the TURO app. I utilized the TURO-GO feature on my first experience and it made the hassle of worrying about a key futile. When visiting Florida for a wedding, I wanted something fun rather than a standard grey sedan from the rental counter. For the same price (or even less) I got a Dodge Challenger R/T. It was the perfect car for the occasion and definitely turned heads. The process was simple in renting, payment and communication. I actually ending up just texting the owner after we exchanged numbers, and he was very accommodating after my flight was delayed and we had to push the airport delivery off - Airport delivery is great! He just pulled up in front of the baggage claim and we drove off. I think Turo is a great idea and with a Nationwide Insurance card, I felt safe. I have recommending this service to friends and co-workers alike, and will definitely use in the future!

This was my first time using Turo and it could not have been easier. All the costs were clear and up front. No surprises. Picking up from the host was easy and he was kind. He showed me around the car before sending me off. The X1 I rented was a dream to drive in the snow. If I could do an entire Consumer Affairs review on it, I would. I absolutely loved it. I guess the beauty of Turo is that users like me can drive these unique cars that I typically wouldn’t rent from Hertz or Enterprise because it would be too expensive. My 3 day trip, 600 mi limit came to $220 after all taxes and fees. I definitely will be using Turo the next time I take a trip to the snow.

Last year I tried out Turo for the first time and had a horrible experience but I was in desperate need of a rental car. I tried renting a car from other companies but their employees were rude and unhelpful. So I decided to give it Turo another chance and I found a great car in less than an hour. I was able to pick up the car within an hour of requesting and I was able to extend my hours with car. The owner was so nice and understanding. I will definitely use again in the future.

I just used Turo.com for the first time. Overall it was a very good experience. Saved probably $200. I was a bit befuddled when we arrived at the Sky Harbor airport and had not received my text to instruct me where to pick up the car. But it was already in the app, which, as a 57 year old, was a little difficult for me to maneuver through. I would have preferred the text sent to my cell phone for sure! But I understand this is a Turo thing, no fault of the renter. Never saw anybody... it was all done via the app, which was unusual, but at least I didn't have to put up with the upselling at the rental car counter.

Like probably many apps for those of us that are not so appt savvy it is a challenge to use. The one thing I find with many is the fact that there seems to be NO logical direction to follow to get from point a to point b. The sites bounce around with lots of information Marion that isn’t pertinent to the objective. I have no suggestions on how to fix but just a personal observation. One other observation, there seems to be no set way that those renting vehicles follow. It seems to be left up to each on how to design deliver and return procedure. I do like the service and will use often.

I chose a 2010 Cadillac SRX for my trip. The app was EZ to navigate. Clear instructions on what to do list to pick up and return the vehicle. As you would think one is required to replace fuel used, wash the vehicle and tidy the interior and return the vehicle to the spot where you picked it up. Heavy penalties await if you ignore these requirements. Being late is a big no-no. Your instructions are sent to your APP, TEXT including the code for the lockbox on the tailgate. No human except you. $179.87 for a 2010 CAD SRX. Clean, ran perfect and a pleasure. The vehicle's owner is always available to you by phone, text, and APP. I'll be back!

Everything went well except I the driver requested $50 to clean vehicle. The vehicle was delivered relatively dirty - I added to this and did not realize I should have taken it through the wash. The requested $50 felt unreasonable. Other than that, it was a cool experience and I prefer Turo to traditional rental operations. Better selection, value, and experience overall.

Everything went well with the ride and the car was perfect! However, finding the drop off and successfully dropping the car off at the airport hub was very difficult and made me miss my flight. Turo needs more indicators to direct you to the valet lot, also needs to provide options for easier drop off than 6 am.

Several months before a ski trip I rented a truck for $450 for the trip. The day before my reservation was cancelled. There was nothing else available on Turo. I called customer service, and was told they would call me right back. No one ever did. I tried calling and emailing, hoping someone would be able to help me find a vehicle. Nothing. I had to look elsewhere. There were no SUVs available anywhere with 12 hours until I departed. Ultimately, I for a van from another company for $1500. It was the only vehicle that could seat 5 and carry skis. It was the only choice I had. Choosing Turo to save a few bucks cost me $1050. First they offered me a $40 rental credit. That's wildly short of adequate.
After being bounced around to 4 different people in customer service, I was finally told that they would send me a check for $150 - I had to claw this tiny amount from them. So, I'm still out $900, and felt like nobody at Turo cared about me as a customer. If you rent from Turo to save money, you probably don't have an extra $900 to throw away. They had a opportunity to go the extra mile and end up with someone singing their praises, instead I am here warning others. I would be very wary if something happened on your trip as well based on my experience.

Staffs at Turo are friendly and professional. They resolved my issue in a timely manner. Except when trying to call customer service, somehow my call waiting kept getting dropped. Once I'm with the representatives, I was treated very professionally. So as all the hosts, I rented their cars with. Very business like approach although they are regular people like us trying to make extra money on the side. They were punctual, cars were cleaned in and out and friendly approach. Only one problem, I somehow didn't get the $25 as a new Turo user. Please fix. Thank you for an awesome app to rent or side business or both. God bless us all.

I have hosted for a couple years on Turo with up to 12 cars at one point. I have had over 430 trips total and here is something you should know before you list your car on Turo. I just got 7 parking tickets in the mail today (2/12/2019). Mail was postmarked 2/8/2019 and the parking ticket notice dates were 2/7/2019. The dates of the violations were in 10/3/2018-11/5/2018. The person who rented the car from me received these parking tickets over 90 days ago but never mentioned to me that they got these tickets on their windshield while they were renting from me. So for the first time today, I get these tickets which amount to $840 because late fees were assessed. I get on customer support on Turo and chat online because I wanted our conversation documented.
So I begin by telling them my situation and also providing all my documentation. The Turo rep tells me that their policy does not allow reimbursement for trips that are past 90 days. I tell "Lee" the Turo rep that an exception has to be made because this is the first notice that I have received and I have NEVER even known about this ticket prior to today. A simple call to the parking ticket would have verified that I am telling the truth. "Lee" insisted that is the policy and that nothing could be done about it. Lee said he may not agree with the policy but it is their policy. I asked if he can consult his supervisor but he told me that his supervisor "Kristie" says that there is nothing they can do. They know that the situation is unfair but they will stick to their policy.
So the bottom line is, one day your renter may rack up thousands and thousands of dollars worth of tickets and you may find out a few months from now and you will be stuck with it. Turo will not reimburse you. You will have to pay that or get your license and registration revoked. You may have had a good experience so far hosting for Turo. But it will eventually happen to you. I have rented out more than 430 times to know that these things will eventually happen. You've been warned.

DO NOT TRUST TURO!!! They will not allow you to delete your debit card information when you close your account. I found this out as I opened an account and entered my debit card information. Went through the process of finding a vehicle, found one I liked, went through the process of renting it. Towards the end of the process it asks you to confirm by your email address. I requested confirmation 3x, no email ever came. A few hours later, went through the process again and had a price quote for the same car that was higher than first!! I thought it was ridiculous so I went to another known company and found a rental.
At this point I wanted to remove my debit card information and close my account. I went into my account and found that you CANNOT remove your card information. You can only input it! I thought that was kind odd so I started a chat with Turo customer service to find a solution. I took pics of the entire conversation as I wanted to document everything as proof. The rep typed: "I see that you are trying to remove a card on file. Unfortunately, the system does not allow us to remove a card on file either. Once the card is saved, even if you change the primary card on file, it will stay on our records. I am sorry I was not able to complete your request."
Amazon and every other online company has a account management tool that allows you to remove your card information - for a good reason!!! I downloaded my personal information from Turo as they give you that option yet my financial information was not included!!! This is a very scary business that is keeping your financial information even when you request to have it removed!!! Buyer beware!!!

Great communication, great service (I messed up when I rented and thought I had rented a bigger car). They offered me the car I really wanted at the same rate. The only complaint is that none of the codes inside the app work. Most of the postings say they are offering a code for first time users but when you try to use them they don't work. I've been renting my car out on Turo for the last few months. It started out great, but then, for the first time in my life, I had a serious identity theft issue. Someone called my bank and asked for a second debit card to be sent to a California address (I live nowhere near California). They knew lots of personal information about me, including the make, model, and year of the vehicle I had insured at this bank. I believe they got this information from Turo, due to the fact that my first name and last initial are there. It wouldn't be hard to put two and two together - look me up by my name, the state and town I live in, and then access my SS#.
My bank was convinced and actually sent the scammer a second debit card (not banking with them anymore). I contacted Turo about this, and they said they cannot allow me to use any kind of user name - I must have my real name out there, attached to my vehicle. I feel like this is a serious flaw in their system. If you plan to advertise your vehicle for rent on Turo, do so at your own risk. Just know that you are putting valuable PII out there and it might come back to bite you in the butt.

I booked a trip with Curtis on the week of Jan. 31-Feb. 3rd. Had a tiny kerfluffle with the cars transitioning to the Turo Go system, but he managed to come up and meet me personally to help me out with unlocking and beginning my use of the Mazda CX-5 I rented out. The return was expedient as the pickup and made the trip a very expedient and pleasant one. I will continue to book rental cars through Curtis in the future.

I rented a car and all went well. When I returned the vehicle the owner reviewed the car and gave me a five star review and asked that I immediately review him to complete the process. I did that and then I get a $50 charge to clean the car after the fact. The vehicle was used for four days and needed only to be lightly vacuumed and wiped down but I figured why would I do that, I have never done it with any rental car I have used. Needless to say that if the owner has to clean their car at all they will charge you a $50 cleaning fee. Nonsense and I would never use them again and wouldn't recommend anyone else use them either.

Fraudulent charges and attempting to debit my account without consent. My tools were stolen from vehicle. I called the host Erick ** several times and he did nothing about this. The car sat in the tow yard nearly 5 days when it should have only been 1 day. He promised 3 days in a row that he was working on the matter and never did. As a result of his negligence he expects me to pay for the extended time in the tow yard and fees associated with getting the vehicle out. I have documentation to support this finding. I will be taking this matter to court as Turo has threatened to send me to collections on a matter they have no idea about.

I have never in my life been dealt with so poorly by a company. I rented a car from in LA from Aiden. I got a flat on the last day of my rental. I had it in a tire shop and got an estimate of $99 to replace the tire. I texted Aiden who told me he had a warranty on the tire and not to fix it. I put the spare on, returned the car that night, and everything seemed fine.
Then, 2 days later, I get an email from Turo telling me that he filed a claim for damages and that they are charging my card $400 for replacing the tire. I showed them the clear documentation of the discussion with Aiden. I tried to call customer service, left messages and sat an hour on hold. Next thing I know, there’s a $400 charge on my card. What an absolute bunch of crooks. My travel agent had told me to keep away and I was seduced by the prices. Never again...

Then I booked and canceled a replacement because the terms weren’t as listed for terminal delivery. Since you guys decided to ignore what really happened and took the host side here's my review that will be posted in ALL SOCIAL MEDIA AVAILABLE! I was by a friend about TURO. Decided to give it a try and looked for a car. I noticed that some hosts are individuals and there's one or 2 that the same person had several cars like a business. I actually tried to avoid that one...something was telling me to look for an individual and not a company. My instincts were right! So, mistakenly I ended up choosing a car from host ERIC **. (??? ** ???) This person seems to run a business within TURO. I picked a Nissan Altima and chose the highest car insurance protection they had available. The pictures online were completely misleading (I just found that out when I arrived there…I will get to it…).
So this guy picks me up at the airport and takes me to their office to pick up the car. The office was about 30 minutes away in an “iffy” neighborhood. I finally was able to see the car and it looked like the car had been in a war…scratched all over, missing one of the wheel covers, the front/side panels almost falling off… In all honesty it looked like trash. So I asked if I could get another car and the other guy that was at the location tells me there were no more cars (there were about 20 cars parked). This guy is talking to me looking at everywhere but me and always on the phone. So I spotted a BMW convertible and asked if I could get that one instead. He said I would have to call TURO directly and cancel the current trip and book another trip. I asked if he could help me… Not easy… He said I had to do it myself and walked away.
I got TURO on the phone and it was possible but took about 1 hour under the sun to get it done. ONE HOUR JUST TO CANCEL THE CURRENT TRIP. So I went to check the BMW and for my luck one of the tires was slashed to the point where if you were driving it too fast or hit a hole it could blow up. The guy didn’t seem to care and asked me if I still wanted the car. (No comments.) So eventually I saw a Mustang and asked about that one. It was available. It was actually a new car. (Remember when I asked for another car they said there was nothing available). So I got the Mustang. I had to book another trip on the application because nothing could be done over the phone. I talked to TURO, then TURO had to call the host then the host had to approve it then I had to wait for TURO to cancel the previous trip… It was an ordeal!!!
Finally got the car and asked where do I return the car: "There at their location or at the airport." The guy said: "You can return it here and we will take you to the airport." So I figure it was OK since they picked me up at the airport but all the paperwork would have to be done at their location. After 2 hours I finally left and went to my life in Orange County. The day I had to return I was planning the return time and figured 3 hours would be enough to drop the car and get a ride from them to the airport to take my flight. So I arrived there at 8 pm. Please note this is a place about 30 minutes from the airport and not the best neighborhood. So I dropped the car and a different guy was there. I asked if he would be the one taking me to the airport. He looks at me and checks his papers and says I am not scheduled to be taken to the airport so he would not take me.
I started getting frustrated…in a bad neighborhood with 2 suitcases, having no idea how to get to LAX with a flight to catch in a few hours. So I asked the guy: "What do you mean I am not scheduled? I need a ride to the airport as agreed." At this point he looks at me and says: "Sorry you are not schedule so I can’t take you." I asked to speak to the host ERIC ** as I couldn’t believe what was happening and was told: "He is not available, he is a busy man!" I asked if someone else could take me. The guy said: "NO you have to figure a ride yourself!" At that point I am very frustrated and said, "You must be **…kidding me!" Then he said out loud to me in a confrontational way: "DO NOT TALK TO ME LIKE THAT EVER!! I AM FROM THE STREETS!" Man…I was 2 seconds away from calling 911. The guy was threatening me!
The same guy that was representing the host ERIC ** was at that point threatening he was a bad guy from the street! WOW!!! I gave him the key and walked away… Next door there was a company moving trash or boxes I am not sure and I approached them to ask how I could get a cab. The guy said there were no cans around and I would have to call… He was actually helping me more than this host ERIC ** employee. I am at this point all stressed out thinking I am about to lose my flight. This guy from the company next door tells me I could call an UBER too. I realized I actually had the application but didn’t think about it with all the situation…so I called an UBER and 15 minutes later it arrived. Finally, I got to the airport and was able to catch my flight. I contacted the host ERIC ** after landing in FL as the day before he wouldn’t answer and finally, he started communication with me via text.
Here’s what he had to say: I was very rude and ship because I booked a cheap car and to learn how to use the TURO APP next time. He was going to write such a bad review from me that no one would rent me a car. I explained him that his perspective was twisted: I am the client and without me he has no business to run. I have several other options to rent a car from. This was the help I received from this person/company. I lost $35 on the UBER and neither TURO or ERIC ** refunded me and they both ignored the entire situation. After what I went through the minimum you both could have done was to refund me not just the UBER part but the entire rental car cost plus a HUGE apology. This review is to prevent possible new clients to have to go through what I had to go through. I went to CA for 3 days to celebrate my dad’s 90th birthday. BTW: this is the short version of what happened. It was just a TERRIBLE experience.

You don't talk with a person, not even by emails, you receive automated answers to email. I rented my Truck through Turo. Although rental contract has expired since Jan 20th, but I still have not received my truck from renter. I was asked by Turo to go to police to file a report. Police is considering this case as civil case & Turo insurance has also refused the help for this claim. It's over 12 days now. I don't have my truck & Turo is not doing anything. Beware of renting your car with Turo - they don't have appropriate insurance to operate. I will be starting legal action against this company.

The worker explained how it worked, we went over the car for existing damages, car mileage and fuel level. I opted to return my rental a day early, and it wasn't a problem! Client stated I dropped off car an hour late when I was only 15 mins late and Turo automatically charged me $60 without even asking me. Hi, very unsatisfied and frustrated by received support. There are various agents contacted me with questions to verify my account, requested tons of documents, explanations why I by mistake created account on my second email. Every new agent was requested the same information again and again, like no one really read my previews emails and documents provided. I don't understand why decision was made to decline my membership which I had no chance to use even once. I have clear driving history, provided all documents/pictures (more documents than any government institution asks). Also I missed one call from Turo at 8am and immediately requested to call me again any time between 9am -9pm Pacific Time. After that didn't get any call but received an email of declining my membership.
So now I can never use Turo in future, since they have my driving licence in their system and any effort to create a new account will automatically block me for duplicating information. The most ridiculous that I had no chance to use it even once. I wasted so much of my time and sources to prepare all information/documents for Turo support and still nothing is successful. My conclusion: I was unlucky to experience Turo as a friendly app, well - to experience it anyhow...and obviously find their support helpful. Hopefully other people would be more lucky in solving issues with Turo app.

Tom, the host, was great. He kept in touch, and spotted the car where I needed to have it on a secure lot on the South ramp at the airport in HNL. The car performed as advertised and I was careful to return it on time, clean and full of gas. Tom called me later the same day and left voicemail which I saved on my voicemail to text app on my phone. Essentially, he thanked me for returning the car in good condition, on time and full of gas. He then hoped to serve my needs again in the future. But then, as sort of an afterthought, he asked me if I detected any strange smells in the car... Just curious, he said, not leveling any complaint. I told him that a bit of vaping, not smoking, had been done on one of my trips. Ah ah he said...saying he was sensitive to smoke. Of course it was NOT smoke, but electronically charged water vapor. No Tobacco, ash or other attributes of cigarettes.
However, Tom then reported to Emilio the car reeked of smoke. Emilio then fined the near maximum fine listed in your agreement for smoking cleanup, plus an additional administrative fee for handling. Entrapment? You bet. Now Turo could make an extra $175 with no expense on a totally misguided interpretation of the no smoking rule they listed in detail on website. Am I shocked and disappointed? Yes. Will I ever use Turo again? No. I could be vindictive and post this ordeal on Facebook, but I am not that kind of person. I am a gullible victim of Turo advertising which hides a premeditated scheme capture fees by entrapment. Thanks for listening.

Hosts Beware. Turo does not exist without the Hosts willing to rent their personal cars. Any good reviews Turo has are because the Hosts treat the renters well. Turo does nothing but take money from both parties and assumes ZERO responsibility for anything that goes wrong. As hosts we paid Turo for their insurance coverage as extra protection for our car. Even though I witnessed the renter drive my car over a curb and heard the loud scraping sound as he scraped the paint off the bottom of my bumper they REFUSED to pay for any damage because I could not take pictures of the BOTTOM of my car.
They did the same thing to a friend who had a renter take a car on a 4-wheel drive road - the road was clearly stated as a place the car could not go & the friend had a GPS tracker so knew when and where they went during the rental. The renter destroyed brand new brakes. Our friend had proof the brakes had just been replaced. Because the damage could not be proven with a "photo" Turo denied their claim. I encourage Hosts to take their car away from Turo and renters to find other options. Turo does not deserve our money!

Rented a Tesla for 2 days. My flight was early on the second day so I said I would be dropping off early even though there would be no reduction in the rental cost. My flight got changed to later so I notified the owner that I would need the car for the full two days that I had already paid for. Owner ignored my request. Turo then charged me a ridiculously exorbitant late fee even though I returned the car in LESS than 48 hours on a two day rental, Turo citing the late return policy. I tried to explain that a "Late" fee is supposed to cover either real or potential financial loss to the company, not just simply to punish the customer. No loss occurred since I was charged for a full two day rental and I returned the car within that 48 hour period.
Just to be clear, I only said I was returning the car early to allow Turo to plan for my return, not to save any money. The Turo lot is manned 24/7 so it's not like they sent somebody there early just for me. Stupid illogical policy with stupid illogical people enforcing it!!! In addition the Tesla was in very poor condition. TPMS light on, every rim had severe curb rash, front passenger side lower bumper had been hit hard, passenger door had 8 inch dent, multiple other half dollar sized dents all over, interior not vacuumed, auto pilot kept shutting off even though I was operating it correctly.

Terrible experience. Do not use this company. They use exorbitant and unfair fees on the front end and back end. My car arrived over 1 hr late and I wasn’t compensated, which was fine. However when I communicated with the owner I was going to be 30 mins later with drop off well in advance, I was charged an extra $100 to my credit card without my knowledge or communicated by the owner. I would never use Turo again!

The car was in great shape and performed well. The use of FINE Parking for pick-up and drop-off was an excellent experience. Shuttle was quick and service there was cheerful. My only complaint is that I needed an ice-scraper for morning ice and did not find one in the car.

IT'S A SCAM FOR BOTH PARTIES. Your car is covered by the cheapest ** insurer there is and it’s not Liberty Mutual who we pay for!! Turo is a scam to steal customer’s money. Then to steal 50% of renter money to you use Turo insurance. LOL. It's a lie. You don’t believe me. Well sorry to tell you I am a victim of Turo 100% as the renter.
People abuse your ride and give it back to you. Then you pay Turo $400 of the $800 which is your money to get LIBERTY MUTUAL insurance to back you in case of an emergency. 50% mark up to be protected. Well sad to say Turo is stealing from us. My first rental was in San Diego with mixed results. I didn't receive prompts to take photos or any other pertinent info. The second was in Austin where I got step by step instructions at the beginning & end of trip.

Great all around experience. The whole process was quick and easy. A really great alternative to renting from a traditional car rental place. My rentee was in constant contact with me. Any questions I had he responded in a timely manner. Great app. Will definitely use again in the future.
