Smooth transaction. Great, clean, fun car to drive. The sporty performance and fuel economy. Getting around town and finding parking especially costal was important to me. Check in and check out process was easy as well. I would highly recommend Tiffany with her mini Cooper. Turo was a great way for me to try out something that I may want to buy in the future as well.

I had a minor glitch with the car (turned out to be a fuse and Mike fixed it right away). He was very helpful with the Turo system (this was my first experience with Turo). Really recommend Mike for his great, positive attitude and conscientious.

I was very unhappy that I was charged $25 extra for a cleaning fee when the car was returned in the same condition I received it in. I was also very confused as to why one car would be a $0.75 fee for every mile over the limit and the next I looked at was only a $0.20 fee for every mile over the limit. The app is a great idea but not executed very well. I would like a refund but I guess that isn’t possible.

For the most part Turo is cheaper than renting a car from one of the rental companies. Turo allows you to browse many different cars. Another thing I recently noticed is that Turo does not have so many different fees like the rental companies do.

Pray your car doesn’t break down because if it does good luck trying to get a refund. This is the most disjointed company I’ve ever come across. You’re better off just doing a charge back because the time it’ll take for you to go from department to department to get a refund will far outweigh your refund amount. The right hand doesn’t speak to the left and be prepared to wait forever.

From the minute I downloaded the app everything went smooth. The only thing that I would like to see done differently is the final email letting me know what to do before returning the car. I didn’t receive that email until the car was returned.

The host I rented from was great. It was a last-minute appointment and he was able to work with me on a car. Was it what I wanted? No but it was cheaper than what the rental car company wanted. The car was nice and clean and ran good. Pick up and drop off was fast and simple. Really enjoyed my experience.

Great service, 24/7 help via the app. I was also pleasantly surprised at the hospitality of the vehicle owners as well as the smooth vehicle check-in and check-out process. The selection of cars was great, but pricing and/or promo codes could be better. I’ll definitely be booking again on my next trip.

I love using Turo to rent a car since I know which car I will be using for my trip and can see all the features and mileage included. There’s no surprises on the prices and you can check the ratings of the owner of the car as well.

My experience with Turo was horrible! It was my first and will be my last. It took me three tries before I finally got a car. First attempt: the car owner never responded to my messages. Second attempt: Turo customer service made a reservation on my behalf but they failed to inform the car owner that I had a pet. I only found out when I reached out to the car owner to arrange a meeting time. Third attempt: Turo finally made a successful reservation for me and the rental cost was less than the first reservation (which was paid for) and so I was expecting a refund. That was 13 days ago. Despite emails from them that the refund was processed, I have not seen it! They suggested I reach out to my bank, who confirmed that the refund was never processed on their end. That's not how you run a business. I will NOT be renting with Turo again!

When looking for a weekend I wanted to rent a car that would impress my partner. Turo did that and some. The person who I was in communication with even recommended places to go in my destination. I would offer two criticism which was the FasTrak issue. I brought my own and the car had it as well. In preventing a double charged I just used the one in the car and told the owner that I would just pay them after. It wasn’t part of the option when booking the car and was a surprised to see it in the car. I would recommend to do something about this situation. The second, I had checked that there was a promo for first time user of the service but came to find out during the checkout that you guys no longer do the promo. I ended up booking it anyways but I’m unsure if this is something you guys would do.

I was recommended by a friend to use this app rather than renting a car. So happy I did. The service was amazing and I felt reassured by the owner of the car. The car gave me my freedom to travel without an extravagant bill. Very app is easy to use and easy to navigate what you are searching for. The host was great, car great, issue with interface of the app. I felt like it was somewhat difficult to maneuver. I was there was a more accommodating way to return vehicle, such as at an airport or an area we did no need to get an Uber after we dropped off the car. Having an option to return the car at other locations if negotiated would be great. This may be possible but I feel it wasn't really promoted.

My first time renting a car from Turo. I had no serious issues. I communicated with the owner of the SUV well. The SUV was to my expectations. Pick up time and location was at a convenient location. Drop off was at the same location.

I have been a top rated host with 3 vehicles for almost 2 years now. The last two months I've had several rentals that smoked marijuana in my cars and brought them back very late and most recently with body damage. I opened the claim with Turo almost 3 weeks ago and am still waiting for a resolution. They keep telling me via the text app and via email that I someone will reach out in 24 - 48 hours. They love to advertise 1 million dollars in coverage which I pay 30% of my income from the vehicles to pay for but it means nothing if you don't pay the claims. I've removed my other two vehicle from the platform after having to beg them to do the right thing when an travelers brings the cars back damaged, late or dirty.
They appear to not care much about the people that provide, maintain and pay for the vehicles they use to make their platform work. If you're considering using one of your vehicle to rent out it's much more of a hassle than it's worth. I've had people throw up in my cars, dent and scratch them which Turo states is normal wear and tear and up to the host to cover. So I'm currently driving around in a damaged vehicle that can't be rented, while "SOMEONE AT TURO" gets back with me. It's infuriating and once this car is fixed I'll be removing it from the platform as well.

I used the service twice in one week, once in Hawaii, once in Boston. I was impressed with the service and process both time; good communication from the owners, pick up and drop off were both relatively easy. The drop off/pick up in Hawaii was different from the pick up in Boston, we had to go with the driver to their "host" location - returning the driver to the "office" before we could take the car and get under way on our vacation. This was a bit unsettling as the "office" location wasn't the most commercial, or pleasant, and being unfamiliar with Hawaii (Oahu Island) we didn't know where we were being taken. It was a bit unsettling, although, in the end, it was totally fine. The price was MUCH less than any rental company so it was worth the slight detour, I guess.
The Boston experience was more like what I anticipated, pick up and drop off at Logan Airport - although the communication between driver and I was pretty stilted. One word answers...more information - from the owner - up front about the process (where to meet, etc.) would have been nice, I had to ask all the questions.

When I arrived to Reno airport it was difficult to find the car but after a 40 minute search we found it. The car was parked at the beginning entrance before you get to the rental cars. The car was wonderful and well maintained, the car drove well around the mountains. The Acura was comfortable for my family of 7 and it had a car video and the kids watched Harry Potter... will rent again

Turo is a good service to use, although some of their policies are pretty restrictive. They don't permit towing or renting to friends/acquaintances. They force guests to pay for tolls through their app (which means they get a cut and the guest pays more). Other than that, they're a really great way to rent or loan out a car. I've used them a lot as a host and just recently once as a guest. The app usually works well, the process is quick and easy, and the people have been (for the most part) excellent to work with.

Had no trouble meeting up with my host and picking up the car. We rented an 8-seat SUV for a big group and it was much cheaper than renting from another company on Martha's Vineyard. The host was communicative and everything worked perfectly. I would definitely use this app again!

Happy with the experience however disappointed I couldn’t use a coupon! Everywhere on Turo they said there's a coupon for first-time users... didn’t find it. Quite an expensive rental if you ask me. The host was more than kind to let us bring the car back early morning the next day, however, Turo charges extra for that... Wish the app wasn’t so expensive, when the host is clearly more than happy to offer more.

And what a great opportunity to rent a nice car, with more reasonable pricing and insurance than the supposed big boys. Sure, not all cars are sparkling, but I found it an easier transaction.

Someone used my car and rented it out through Turo. I contacted Turo multiple times as the owner of the vehicle and they refuse to release any records of the transactions that happened with MY vehicle. They have ignored these requests. So know when you rent of Turo, it may be a shady operation. Turo does not do checks or care who the owner of the vehicle actually is. But you certainly should, or could get mixed up in something like a stolen car.

It’s wonderful that Turo requests & pays for the Uber ride for someone who had just returned a car at the LAX Turo Valet Lot when they need a ride to the LAX Airport terminal. My only suggestion is that Turo requests & pays for the Uber ride for someone who just arrived & landed at the airport when they need a ride to the Turo Valet Lot to pick up a car. Hope all this makes sense!

Hi, I have used Turo twice now and have some things I want to mention. I really like that there is a site where I can rent the exact vehicle that I want for much less than big rental companies. The only drawbacks I have are: 1 - Turo charges you the full rental price upfront. I don't like that since most of my bookings are several months in advance of the actual trip. A small deposit would be more appropriate in my opinion. 2 - When I tried to make a change to my rental, Turo tried to charge me an additional amount. Nothing with the rental actually changed except the return time by 2 hours. 3 - The owner added some optional items that I wanted to rent. When I tried to add them to my existing reservation, Turo tried again to charge me above what the rental price was for these items. Other than these, I have loved the service.

I had no idea what to expect with Turo, but everything went seamlessly from pick up, drop off, and a few extra accommodations from our host. I 100% will use Turo again for my car rental needs! What I paid for a full size sedan with numerous bells and whistles, would’ve only got me the tiny economy size car through a traditional car rental company.

My rental experience started out pretty well. The car had numerous dents and scratches and a chipped windshield but drove fine and was clean inside. However a week after arriving home I receive a text from Artie stating there is a new scratch. I was not aware of it when I parked the car, which was picked up a week after I returned it. I was sent a picture of the scratch but really could not tell where it was. The before pictures that were taken when I picked up the car were not close up enough to see the scratches. So I am told $150 will cover it. I am at a complete disadvantage being back in the states. Therefore I feel I have no option. We settled for a bit less but I still feel I did not scratch the car, which as I stated was covered in scratches. So beware and take close up pics of everything as I had no proof or recourse in the matter. Won’t rent again most likely.

Denver Turo Rental. Jeremiah was exceptional to work. And, although we encountered some difficulties at pickup time, Jeremiah rectified it by offering us a nice balance to the challenge of picking up the car. I would work with Jeremiah again should the need arise.

I have used Turo at least half a dozen times. For fun trips in my own city, trucks to pick things up, and of course trips out of town. I love the variety of cars and flexibility. I recently rented a CLS Mercedes for the cost of full-size sedan at a major rental car agency. Try Turo and you won't go back.

I did find the app a little difficult to navigate- especially the messaging. It would be nice to have a detailed explanation of the order of things beforehand. The car that we rented for our vacation in Chicago stopped running 9 hours after we picked it up while we were driving it. It was midnight on a dark road that was not safe for 3 women to be stranded on. Because we could not get in touch with the person we rented from (multiple texts and phone calls went unanswered) I contacted Turo roadside assistance. The person who answered the phone spoke very poor English and could not understand anything I was saying.. He could not communicate with us at all and was unable to understand the location we gave him despite an address and landmarks given multiple times. He would stop talking for long pauses multiple times. He was rude and seemed distracted (talking to people in the background).
I told him multiple times that I was on vacation in Chicago a city that we didn’t know at all, stranded in an unsafe area in the middle of the night with my kids and he still couldn’t figure out how to get us a tow truck. I was on the phone with him for so long the battery on my phone died (with no way to charge it since the car was not working.. over 70 minutes). He had to call my daughters phone back so that he could try to continue to get us a tow. I am not sure why he kept trying to say that I was in NYC when I must have told him 25 times I was in Chicago and the address of the closest landmarks.
One of the most frustrating parts of the encounter was when he told me that the car would have to be towed back to the airport where we picked it up (about 25 miles away) and we would have to figure out how to get back to the place we were staying for vacation. He also told us that it would cost us $250 to have the car towed (which was not true).
After 90 minutes of complete frustration a tow truck was finally dispatched. The tow truck driver was amazing! And 4 hours after the car stopped working we were finally safe in our Airbnb. The next morning I was contacted by the person I rented from and he brought us a car to swap which was great. The Turo customer support person I spoke with that morning was professional and had the tow truck driver on its way to pick up the broken car in a less than 5 minute phone call! The tow driver was prompt and helpful. I have use Turo several times before and never had an issue with customer support being so rude, obnoxious and unhelpful as I did when contacting your roadside assistance on the early morning of 8/819. Your employee left us in an unsafe and scary situation and didn’t seem to care at all. Very concerning. Kerry

We rented a vehicle over the weekend from Friday, 8/9 to Monday, 8/12. The vehicle we got was not where it was suppose to be. We had to walk a few blocks to get to it. The vehicle had so many dents and scratches that were not mentioned in the profile. On the last day of having the vehicle we got pulled over for safety check because the tags were missing. Other than these things the vehicle worked great. The reason I am giving Turo 2 stars is because of the referral credit they promised that my friend and I did not receive. We thought we were both going to get $25 for referral and $25 for first time renting. False advertising. I used the link my friend sent me with the intention of getting a credit.

The person I rented from was very nice and had easy pickup and return. The thing I didn't like was that as a 1st time customer I was suppose to get a discount and didn't. I wish I would have been able to use the discount code as other car rentals are cheaper with unlimited miles.

I was informed that there was a claim against me 10 minutes after the owner took the car. I never hit that car to anything. The car was either at my position or the Hilton Valet parking. Since the owner left the premises, I could not file a claim with the Hilton. There, I should not be responsible at all.

I rented a car using Turo in San Francisco. There were minor food crumbs in the car when I turned it in. Even though Turo's policy says that I won't be charged for that, I was charged a fine for not vacuuming the car myself. I even volunteered to take the car across the street to vacuum the car out when the car's owner pointed them out and told me that I would be fined $100 for not vacuuming the car but the owner refused to let me take the car to vacuum the car myself. Excellent curbside pick up and drop off in a 2015 Toyota in good shape... good on gas. We will be back!! We even got accommodated on getting picked up on a early morning landing. It was nice to pay in advance not to have to clean out the car.

Great communication (even though I was an hour late getting to DIA because of flight delays). The car was really nice and clean for the most part (a small smudge of what looked to be mud on the seat and some of the same substance on the carpet where you stow your suitcase). But overall very nice!! I’d definitely rent this car again! Great value also!!

The host was very accommodating and made the rental smooth, everything was as expected so good in that sense. Was a little unclear the normal protocol (taking photos, etc) so more notification ahead of time on what needs to be done was nice. A little more transparency on the website of all-inclusive fees and costs would be appreciated... a low daily rental rate is less meaningful when you check out and $100+ is added on to your total.

One of the best first time experiences I’ve ever had with any company. Fast economical and the service from Alexander was absolutely heart rate. Everything described was 100% accurate and Alexander could not be more caring and helpful. The drop-off and pick up experience was 10,000 times better than any rental car agency. Only if a rental car wasn’t available would I use this service. The person we rented from was great, the car was far too old. It ran and all but I don’t see what is in it for him either. Pain in the rear either way. Not everything should be shared and it’s better for this type of service from a vendor where you can ensure safety first, and cleanliness etc.

Affordable, convenient and delightful! I got a 2016 Miata MX-5 to drive around LA for four days, Eric and Rafael were informative and easy to communicate with, the car was clean, gorgeous, and super-fun to drive! Everything worked smoothly, and I would prefer to use Turo again when renting a car in the US, rather than go to one of the big rental companies. Not sure if they've expanded abroad yet, but definitely looking into it.

My first experience was cool for me. I didn't like only one thing. When I decided to return the car 12 hours earlier I didn't have an option to mark the trip as completed. I've handed the keys to the host, he made sure that car is in a good shape and no damage was made and next morning I received a reminder from Turo that I need to go through check-out process and add photos to the app. I didn't have any photos by that day. Eric is a cool host and he didn't use my mistake, but somebody could potentially do. Hope there will be a button to check-out earlier.

1st time renting the car from TURO. I have been renting the car in Maui for last 20 years. I couldn't believe how much rental car companies are charging this year. The price went up about 35% which new rental car terminal expenses are charged to the customer on top of all taxes. I was very pleased with TURO which I will be using frequently from now on. I recently rented internationally (outside of US/Canada/Germany/UK) where Turo does not assume responsibility for insurance. After I had returned and reviewed the rental (5 stars), I received a notification from the host that they had identified damage (small chips in the paint). I never received photos of the damage, but the host was asking hundreds of dollars for repair (full repaint of two panels) and had not yet reviewed me. I reached out to customer service and started talking with Roman **, who identified himself as the manager for the 'Turo International Community'. Roman was dismissive bordering on rude, did not initially answer my questions (until I repeated them several times), and refused to put me in touch with his manager when I asked.
I asked what my liability was (given that the domestic Turo policies would consider the damage 'wear and tear', and the host had not provided before/after evidence), and Roman told me he couldn't help. The host did not use the Turo claims system, instead requesting that I pay via Paypal. Later I learned that Roman had been on the phone with the host discussing this issue and encouraging them to add another vehicle to the service. Lesson learned - as a renter you have no protection outside of the countries listed above, and for international rentals Turo customer service is useless unless you are the host.

I was a host with Turo for a couple years and they always weaseled their way out of any type of reimbursement. Finally i had a renter complain that the car was shaking at idle. Turo restricted the car (it was at the valet lot the turo attendants could have confirmed this). They forced me to get an inspection for safety reasons. The car was held over for recall issues unrelated and many other renters missed their reservations. They in turn gave me a negative review. I asked Turo to cancel the reservations to avoid issues and if I cancel the reservation we are fined. Long story short without notice they cancelled my account for negative reviews. I had additional tickets come up after the fact and Turo will only cover the original fine not anything over.
They also charge the renters high fees and then charge the hosts fees also for the same thing. They also charge both sides for insurance then deny claims or go after the personal insurance and was their greedy hands at the expense of everyone else. The customer service is the worst in the history of all customer service. It's offshore and it is really the most inefficient ever. No common sense. If they fixed the customer service they probably would increase the company's profits and not need to screw the hosts all the time. Really disappointed since the concept is great but the way they take advantage of people is pretty disgusting.

This was my first experience with Turo. Renting on their website was straightforward. Things got a little confusing once the rental started. I found out later that the app organized the check-in/check-out process in a more user friendly way. Download the app. Also, I would suggest not to use add-ons like post trip cleaning, Turo daily fees suddenly become 30% higher. At least they did in my case. I’ll give them another chance because I like the concept. But, for now, I think Turo as a company is below average.

I would have given Turo five stars if it were not for my experience after I dropped off the rental car. Sushant should not be allowed to rent out his car for his unprofessionalism and lack of respect to his customers. He would message me late at night demanding to see my invoice since he did not receive the full amount that I paid for the rental ($268). I let him know that there were additional fees (young driver fee for example) that might of not gone directly to him but to the company. It was clear after he was upset for not making the money he was hoping
After dropping off the car, he also began harassing me after the check out process by texting me around midnight to 1 am asking if I brought a dog along for the car ride. I told him, no of course, since the purpose of the rental was to go to an orientation of UC Davis where dogs are not allowed. At this point I was afraid because he would not stop texting me so I deleted his messages and blocked him hoping he would let it rest.
But he was unreasonable. He reached out to me by the Turo app and asked for a reimbursement. I let him know we cleaned the car the best we could in that deadline but did not take the car to a car wash due to the rush. I apologized. I agreed to pay his request for a reimbursement which was 98 dollars (covered the car wash and additional mileage used) but he proceeded to file a claim against me saying I damaged his car because it was not clean. He accused us of not cleaning the car to hide scratches and dents that he pointed out to us before we rented the car. I have my boyfriend as a witness. I let him know that a dirty car is not grounds for damage (which I already agreed to pay for anyway) and it is considered fraud to place a false claim on me out of spite. He threatened to take me to court if I didn’t pay him for the additional “damage”
I believe if I were to have rented from someone else they would have been willing to work with me and talk things out like a decent human being. It is clear to us that Sushant just wants more money and is willing to lie about it to get it. Unfortunately the pictures he took before we took the car had awful lighting because it was at night and we returned the car at night so there’s no great evidence by photos.
This was our first experience renting a car and we had no idea it would succumb to lies and threats so I will have to be more careful next time (if there is a next time). He ruined the whole experience for me which is disappointing because everything went by so smoothly with the app and I gave him 5 stars at check out before I knew what a lunatic he was. I hope he never gets to try to scam someone else. Thank you for your time. I however want to thank Mary for responding to me by email fairly quickly and by being kind in explaining the whole process to me. This review is not a reflection of the Turo team but my hope to stop Sushant from ruining other experiences. Thank you.

I tried to cancel but was told by the host that I wouldn’t be able to because the ride was about to start. And that I would be refunded partial! So Wednesday I chatted with “Victor” on the support team and he told me that I would not be refunded anything!! And that I would have to talk to the owner of the company about it. How rude is that! The owner called me as we were passing through security to let me know he had an accident with his trailer and wouldn't be able to deliver or pick up the car at the airport. He offered to cancel the reservation. He ultimately agreed to pay for the Uber's he suggested. Had never used Uber, so, another First for us on this trip. This added a 30-minute ride North to get the car, then a drive south into Indiana. We also had to leave earlier to return the car. It was to be dropped at an office complex on a Saturday. Had no idea how long we'd be sitting and waiting for the Uber. It all worked out, but, we were at the airport 3.5 hours early.

The car we rented was amazing and the valet when we picked up the Jeep was so great. However, our return was a little frustrating. They didn’t ask our flight info and had the Uber driver coming almost a block away. They expected us to lug our three heavy suitcases down the steep incline and block to meet the driver. Then our driver was told to drop us at the parking lot and not the terminal. Luckily the Uber driver was kind and took us anyway.

Rented an Audi SUV in May, rental was in August 1 week. A day before I call to confirm, the car was not available, nobody informed me to change it before. If I had not called I would’ve been in trouble after going there. I had to agree with the three choices they give me, I did not get the car I wanted. Even though the experience with the second car was great I still was not happy because I did not get the car which I choose (I have herniated disc and back issues so I prefer SUV but I could not get an SUV).

My car rental was canceled 12 hours before I was to supposed to rent the car. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Turo agents, desperately trying to rent another car. They were unable to do so and told me to rent via a third party car rental and that they would reimburse me up to $300 *beyond* what I had already rented from Turo. Turns out, THAT'S NOT TRUE! I expected this to be an Airbnb experience, and Turo may work well as long as the individuals in their network respect the car rental agreement, but the second something goes wrong, you're on your own.

Turo makes renting a car extremely smooth and easy. With the app you can find and rent a car within minutes, compared to the annoying process on usual rental websites that take 20-30 mins. On top of that, the pick up and drop off process is 10 times easier as well. There's no paper work to fill out, no waiting in line at the counter, and no hour restrictions as to when you can drop off/pick up a vehicle.

He said it was ok and that no late fee would be charged but it was and then also I got accused of smoking when I'm a non-smoker and have very bad asthma and small children. I initially came to TURO for the price difference. TURO is cheaper than a rental company. Free airport delivery was a big plus. The process of securing the rental was decent. A lot of the check in process is through your cell phone and if you are in an area of bad reception you almost can't move forward. However after dealing with the technical difficulties the rest of the rental process was smooth sailing. I will consider TURO next time I need a rental car.

I was pretty disappointed in the last time I used Turo. My driver said I was not allowed to text him directly, but my app was not working properly for me to do so. That was fine until the day I realized I was going to be an hour late for health reasons and the app kept saying "something went wrong" not allowing me again to use app. Turo then charges me almost half of the daily rental fee for turning it in 1hr late. I just thought this was such a cool service and all until this. I would go through a rental company and not waste your time.

Turo is a great service, however renters are limiting mileage for a rental to some very unfair amount for a rental period. I think Turo needs to set a minimum time that a renter can stipulate. Rented a car last Saturday and Sunday and got 150miles in New York. That’s a lot in the south. That is a trip to the city and back to the suburbs so you basically rent the car but can’t drive far without incurring extra $1 per mile fee or in some cases $1.50 per mile fee. Fix that and I’ll rent more but I can’t rent a car to sit it in my driveway.

Kauai rental. This was very easy. I had contact with the owner within 5-10 mins, if needed. It saved me $400 off a car rental at one of the commercial companies. The vehicle was clean, full of fuel and ready to use.

I used to be a loyal Turo customer, but this year they have begun allowing places like FINE airport parking to operate massive Hertz or Budget car rental size businesses while pretending that they are the regular mom-and-pop Turo hosts. These companies (FINE in particular) have bad service, nasty employees and there is no recourse, because they do such high volume any negative review doesn't bother them if they lower the price enough. Called Turo, first time in two years as a customer, and was disconnected on phone twice by them and they never followed up, not a peep, not a word. Very disappointed, this is NO LONGER A SHARING ECONOMY company, it's just a big faceless business with bad service. Disappointed, but c'est la vie!

More interesting cars as opposed to a traditional rental. I always prefer getting a slightly older, more uncommon vehicle, as opposed to the generic vehicles you get with a traditional rental. When you pull up in the previous generation BMW convertible, and it has tinted windows and a license plate frame from a local university, it gives the appearance that it's actually your car, not rented.

My friends and I took a Turo rental out of the city this weekend to go float the river. Everything from picking up the car to dropping it off was easy and the ride was valuable even being under the circumstances I was (under 25). I am a 5 star renter for a reason. I take pride in each vehicle renter as if it was my own. BAD renters should be banned! Unfortunately, I was the victim of a careless renter. I had an important meeting in a city about 100miles away. I carefully scheduled my day so I would be early. The renter returned the vehicle dirty with no gas! This caused a 1hr delay in my trip, and I missed my appointment time to bid on a house at auction. It cost me 250k! It was no fault of the host. Alexandra was GREAT! She was apologetic, and gave me a courtesy call to inform me of the situation. Something should be done to the previous renter. Customer service is almost NON EXISTENT at Turo. Nobody has contacted me to rectify this situation. I am considering returning my business to Enterprise.

My partner and I used Turo to rent a Tesla model S for three days. This was our first opportunity to drive a fully electric car vs. hybrids, and being able to spend a few days and multiple charge cycles with the car answered many questions, making us comfortable about the technology. We'll use Turo again for shorter stints as we narrow down specific models. I can easily recommend Turo as our experience was trouble-free. Turo's site made locating and renting the right car simple, and the car's owner was prompt, helpful, and his communication perfect.

Overall good experience. Carly’s for a couple renting a great. One thing it’s not so clear is amount of wear and tear on the car. For example is it necessary to return it washed and done? Since it was an option at checkout thought it wise so I wasted an hour 45 minutes of my time trying to find a car wash and vacuum. If normal wear and tear or allowed that I could turn in some spots following a rainstorm and some dust on the floor mats because Neil + Kahn ** leaving plantation Oaks. But it’s not clear was inefficient. Must be exploited and clear return condition.

Refilled it at Costco & returned to owner who then drove us to Maui Airport. Our car owner is a retired mechanic that keeps his rental vehicles in top condition. First time user - Liked it but... I picked up the car and wasn’t aware there was a process to inspect the car. It wasn’t until I brought the car back that I was prompted for the “before” pictures realizing them that I could be liable for something I didn’t do. Some stronger verbiage and demo for first-time users would be helpful.

After being left hanging at the airport, attempting to contact the host 3x and never getting answer, after calling customer service 3-4x and being put on hold each time...when I finally got the car it was dirty AND I had to get it washed myself...well needless to say it was the first AND LAST time I will use your service. I rented a car from Vlad in Los Angeles and it was a great experience. Vlad is friendly, professional and his car (which was a hybrid) was great. He was very flexible about delivering the car and picking it up. I highly recommend renting from him and Ola. Can’t say enough bad things about this company to be honest. Please be weary before renting with them. Customer service provided no help. There was an extra fee tacked onto my rental and when I tried to dispute it, the guy I was talking to - Victor ** - just discontinued emailing me out of the blue. I then tried to contact customer service online and the gentlemen there just beat around the bush about how hosts can add fees based on their discretion - this is very shady. Instructions for rentals are incredibly unclear and they tack on fees left and right. You think you are saving money on a rental, but there are so many additional fees that you end up spending more than a professional rental company. It is much safer to just rent a car from an experienced car rental company like Enterprise. Would definitely not use again.

It was my first time using the Turo app and I was very happy overall to have been recommended of it by my friend AJ. It was economic and convenient! The owners are kind and considerate and stay in touch whenever I had a question. The only problem I found was that I received the Turo email about taking pictures of the car all around, a day later after I had already picked it up. I then ask the owner and they were kind enough to have explained to me. I’ll definitely consider using Turo again next time.

I disputed a roadside assistance charge I received on my account. On the second day of my reservation, the car wouldn’t start and I was unable to unlock the doors. Per the online instructions, I contacted Turo and a company was dispatched to assist me. I wasn’t informed that I would be responsible for this fee on the call. Additionally, as a guest I should not be penalized for maintenance of the owner’s vehicle. He was responsible for checking the battery’s performance before renting the car. When I disputed the charge, Turo refused to take responsibility or check with the roadside assistance company to verify my claim.

Within 200 miles after picking up vehicle the Check Engine light came on. We called Turo and the Cust. Experience was far from satisfactory. We were given the standard information on charges and policies etc., Turo did not attempt to contact the owner. We did and the owner was not reachable. In such a situation, Turo falls far short of a satisfactory experience. In addition, there is nothing in the vehicle selection process that gives any indication whether the vehicle is well maintained or not. Service Records should be mandatory for upload to give idea of vehicle condition.

I was nervous and skeptical about meeting a random guy to pick up a rental car, but I just got tired of being overcharged by the rental car companies. Pick up and drop off was smooth. I went over on mileage and reimbursing the owner was a breeze. The array of vehicles that I had to choose from was plenty. I recommend to any and everybody.

From start to finish my experience renting a car through Turo was extraordinary. Over many years I have rented with probably every auto rental company in the US but nothing even comes close to the Turo experience. Indeed, I initially rented with Turo because the national rental companies were ridiculously high. I did so with great skepticism, but from the moment I started the rental process, my concerns began to diminish. Believe me when I describe to you my experience that I am not a shill for Turo.
The renter I chose (Mo to me, PRC as his rental info) contacted me immediately to establish the time my plane was due to arrive at Logan Airport, where exactly he would meet me and to answer any questions I might have. As I hoped, Mo was waiting for me when I arrived outside my baggage carousel, helped with our luggage, gave me the car keys and said he'd be waiting at the departures level when we returned. The car was spotless inside and out, and the gas tank was full. 20 minutes before our return to the airport I called Mo to confirm exactly where we'd meet him. To my delight, as I pulled in, Mo opened the car door, once again helped with our luggage, shook my hand, thanked me and said goodbye. WOW!! Never have I experienced such service from a car rental company. Needless to say, I am now a confirmed Turo renter and look forward to my next trip and the convenience of using Turo.

Turo should work on better customer service and have better regulations when people renting the cars cancel at the last minute. Not only did we have 1 cancellation on a car but TWO. (I can give you reservation #'s if you need them) I had to go through another rental car company for a car at the last minute costing me more money. Then we managed to get 1 through Turo but so not worth the stress on a vacation. Will not recommend Turo.
