    Car, I got on Turo was OK to drive and not as good as rental cars but it is way inexpensive. So it's worth taking cars from Turo. Apart from that my personal GEICO insurance did not work with TURO and I had to buy insurance from Liberty mutual. But still it was a good deal. I will try TURO again.

    My host communicated effectively and the entire process went off without any issues on his end. One thing I do wish were a little easier is taking photos and uploading them to the app. I was in an area that didn't get great reception so taking the selfie with my ID and uploading it to the app was a little hard. I returned the car at night so me taking photos in the dark wasn't that easy because it was dark and 2 people saw me taking photos of the car and started asking me questions. I thought they were going to call the police on me (with me being a ** person in a gentrified area) so I hurried through it so they would leave me alone and I could leave. There was no damage to the car or anything but having to rush through it made me a little paranoid that I may not have taken good enough photos and captured everything in the event something happened after the drop off.

    I don’t usually have a need to rent a car unless I’m traveling but I’ve used Turo once on vacation and when I relocated to a new state and it’s been a 5 star experience all around. I’ve never had a blip in the road. Car delivery and pick up has always been timely, the selection is wide, and I’ve never gotten any hidden fees. Traditional renting services will never have my business as long as it’s this easy on Turo.

    When it came to support before even being able to rent a car, Turo Support was among the worst I have ever received. I spent 10 hours one day going through at least 7 Turo support agents, whose primary fixation was to end the call. On another day, I started over until I finally got approved to even rent. And I am an All Star Host, who has been renting out vehicles on Turo for 8 months. As far as the rental itself, it was fine. I found a car nearby, after all the account trouble was fixed, who had a car that I could afford, and it was an easy transaction - no negative surprises. And I met a hosting comrade who lives 2 miles from me. At least I won't have to through the nightmare of getting approved to drive again. Part of the reason my selection of rental cars was very limited was because Turo support took so long to resolve my account issues that several days had already passed. It was only due to my dogged persistence that it was ever resolved.

    When I needed a car in a pinch, I'd given myself two rental options: (1) Enterprise, Hertz, etc. (2) TURO. I like the idea of car sharing, so I went with the latter. The website is user friendly, allowing me to locate a ride at my price point. There are also reviews, which brought me peace of mind when selecting. After picking up my ride, I received email notifications as to whether I wanted to extend my trip and how much time I had left before returning the car. When I did return the car, the owner was professional, kind (asked if I had a ride home) and compassionate (he wasn't upset when I arrived 5-10 minutes late). All in all, a pleasant experience. Will I do it again? If the price is right, without hesitation.

    I signed up hoping to see what I could rent my vehicles for. I have a tesla Model 3 a ford hybrid and a caravan. Decent vehicles. However, the default in the settings is to accept drivers and then you get a text saying they booked it Hit Y for yes and N for no. I sent the N in because I wasn't sure about this whole thing yet. Andy from Turo emailed and said if I cancel that I can be charged $25 for this. I told him politely that I wasn't aware of that and canceled my account. He then obviously got a bit miffed and told me that since I canceled my account that I would be charged the fee, even though I declined in the text message that obviously didn't check.

    Bullying tactics will get you nowhere. Do not use this company. Check out the complaints on Reddit as well. From not paying for accidents to a million other things. Shady to the max. Andy, you are a failure to this company and need to take a look at the way you treat the people that ultimately keep you in a job... I doubt turo will make it past a few years.

    I used to always use Turo, back when it was still relay rides. Service was always great. This time I had a bad experience as I picked up an unwashed car, which I didn’t complain about but 2 days after returning the I receive a bill to wash the car due to a bird pooping on the car as I drove down the street. If natural dirt isn’t part of the car rental it’s unfair to the customer. I will upload the pics and in the second pic you can see see where a bird pooped. It is very small.

    For this type of business, it needs a strong mediator between parts that takes the time to listen and analyse and, the most important, to not allows illegalities happens on its platform. This is exactly the opposite of TURO. Everything is allowed there and TURO doesn’t care who is right or not as long as it has access to money; and they always have because you need a credit card to make an account.

    Our story: the owner we have rented a car asked for damage we haven’t done: the photos the owner himself posted before and after renting show that the damage was there before. We have written to TURO and they gave us a phone meeting (precise date and hour to talk on phone) that they never attempted, after that they was never answered to our e-mails. Another detail: you will see perfect or almost perfect reviews on TURO platform (five stars), because TURO allows you to make a review only after 10 days following your rental and you cannot change this review after that. Problems occur after this period.

    I picked up my car and had no problems there except that I had to pay an unexpected $25 to get the car out of the short term parking lot. I submitted that expense to be reimbursed and never heard back from the company. Then once I returned the car I received a notification that I was about to be charged an extra hundred for gas and other expenses. I messaged the driver and he said to decline it and that that shouldn’t have gone to me. Since my trip ended it's been five days and I still have no response from customer service. I have no problem with the driver or car but the service is horrible.

    I rented a Honda Accord in Rockville, MD from a guy via Turo. The car was beat-up and dirty. It was old and had a lot of mileage. I was having trouble with my credit card so this was the easiest thing to do. I paid about twice what I would have paid at Enterprise but I was desperate to get mobile. When I complained to Turo they said they would replace the car but they did nothing. I waited for days and they never got back to me. At the end of the "rental" the guy who owned the car tried to stick me for a 50 buck cleaning bill which I told Turo I would not pay. I also told them I would never use Turo again and they didn't charge me the extra 50$. It was clear this was a dirty deal with a dirty company when I looked at the registration of the car and found out it belonged to a company that only owned the car for rental purposes; there was no private owner listed. Never again.

    NO STARS - To set up an account you have to send your license, a picture with your license, and a picture of your credit card. After doing this I was denied the account with no explanation. I contacted support as I have nothing on my record. Absolutely nothing, I have good credit, and major credit cards. Support is only chat. No live agent? My insurance even covers me in rental cars, company cars, etc. I live by the airport in Winter Park and my car is being serviced. I just need the rental for possibly 5 days or less. I was trying to avoid driving outside my area to avoid the airport.

    Turo deactivated my account not allowing me to log in the next day after I reserved a vehicle. Contacting support ONLY by chat I apparently was denied business and Turo refused to disclose why. I have reported the site to law enforcement as they could be stealing people's information, BBB, and I am writing this review to hopefully prevent identity theft or loss of your personal information on the black web.

But the mileage for those that live far from the city should at least be increase to 200 miles and 0.99 for anything that exceeds instead of 100 miles.     I will never use Turo again. I used it because the cost was lower than a traditional rental car. When I returned the car I was told there was a small crack on the windshield. I can’t prove this didn’t happen while I was driving it although I am not aware of it happening. I have had small cracks in my own windshield and figured no big deal. I will pay the $50 and take it on good faith that it was my fault. I’ve just received an invoice from Turo for $250 to fix the crack. You have to be kidding me. The bill says the part is $8 but the labor and a $75 processing charge that comes from Turo with NO justification make up the rest of the cost. I will never use this company again. It could be fine if you don’t have something like this come up but I’d rather pay more for a regular rental and avoid this nightmare.

    We had a fun car and had a great time with it. Had a very hard time finding the car. Didn't realize it was in a culdesac. Then when we found the cars, we couldn't find the car with the plate number it was suppose to have. So glad when I called they came right over and helped me. Felt bad calling.     To be honest, this was an amazing experience. From the UI/UX of the app, to the validation of the drivers + hosts, to the overall cost, the overall variety of hosts/cars to choose from. It's a no brainer to ditch the typical enterprise (no pun intended) car rentals with all their hidden fees and gimmicks. Everything honestly felt a lot safer and easier to manage and change if I needed to. I hate to use the same ole analogy, but it's what uber & airbnb did to car rental.     Turo is a great option for renters, but the company seems to favor them. We've been renting out for 3 months now and have had many issues with a claim (a Turo driver crashed our car). Also, the app has had tech problems where we could not change the calendar. And - when customer service decided to upgrade our insurance to premium and charge us 20% per ride, we complained (because we never changed it) and have yet to be reimbursed for the extra charges.

    Picking up the car went w/o errors. Very easy, as was the drop off, though I found it odd no one looked over the car w/me or had me fill out any paperwork. The issue came upon daylight & storms when I found the tires were bald as well as a windshield wiper not in working order both putting my family at risk.     This guy and this company are going to be out of business within 5 years. I checked the Better Business Bureau...so many complaints! We rented the car for 4 days and was told we needed to pay 25.75 for cleaning even though we returned it washed and vacuumed. Renters are not responsible for washing the car of normal wear and tear but we did anyway. The bottom back of the car had exhaust residue which we missed (but not responsible for anyway). When we vacuumed it we found a receipt from 3 weeks prior and a french fry from previous people which proves we did an excellent job.

    Now just wanted to pocket some extra money. He sent us a picture of something white on the windshield. That was NOT from us! I washed the windshield the night before. We made sure we did an excellent job cause we had a bad feeling about this guy. He showed us scratches from a previous person (his claim) which was not repaired so obviously he is pocketing money and blaming the guest drivers. He also claimed that we scratched his tire and was charged 302.00. We never hit the tire on a curb so this is a total lie. He first tried to get us to pay him directly without going through Turo which I guess is against the rules. The 415 number they gave us to call does not work. This company is a scam.

    I was excited to get a deal on a rental car when I reserved a using Turo. I was going for a practical, inexpensive ride for my vacation. I picked up the rental without problems. I drove off the lot, and then the tire pressure sensor light went off. I messaged the owner and they replied that I could take it to a Discount tire center the following day. I was not staying in the same city as where I picked up the car and no discount tires were open when I got the car. I had to fill up the tires the following morning and on two other occasions during my trip.

    After the third fill up, the tires stopped loosing pressure. When the tires were being filled up at one location, the mechanic found out that the oil was extremely low. I did call the owner to let him know. He replied that he couldn't do anything because he couldn't make it to where I was located. He sent me a picture of the oil they use in the car. I had planned on traveling more during my week, but I didn't since I was worried about the tire pressure. On another note, the car did not have sun visors and the car is being rented out in Arizona.

I paid extra to have the car delivered to the airport, the car was not there when I arrived and the host would not answer my messages.     The app works well when it works, however, there are a number of small glitches that are annoying. For example, it's currently 3:34 pm where I am. When I open the app, it lets me enter 4:30 pm as the requested start time when I try to book a trip, but then shows no vehicles available for 4:30 pm, because you can't book cars with less than 1 hour notice.     WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! This must be the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced. A lugnut snapped off while I was changing a flat tire on a rental. I was more than happy to pay for a replacement. I received a bill one month later for $2,000 with no notice or explanation from one of their agents. I immediately replied twice within 24 hours attempting to dispute this claim. I was instead ignored for OVER A MONTH, as no one from their company ever replied to me. INSTEAD, one month later they charged my account for the full price with no notice again. I was immediately frustrated and furious and tried to contact their customer support. I was told a manager would get in touch with me as soon as possible.

    INSTEAD, a whole week went by with no one contacting me, so again I had to be the one to reach out to them and ask why no one was responding. A supervisor finally replied back. I explained to him why I was frustrated, and once again I hear no reply from them to this day. They completely ignored me, took my money, and still continue to ignore me even after I’ve reached out to them several times in attempt to dispute. God forbid something happens to you while you are using their app and you have to go through customer service because it will be impossible for you to get in contact with anyone.

    I have used Turo several times for car rentals and things were fine until the last time when I rented a car with them. I was incapacitated for about a month and unable to defend myself when Turo without explanation of what events took place, voided the Liberty Mutual insurance coverage I purchased (yes I still had to pay for it) and debited my account over $3,000 without my permission! Since then, the company has provided no details as to how they justify this and will not even give me information as to which department I can contest the charges. Turo has literally left me broke and homeless once I emerged from my incapacitation. They are predators and took advantage of me and show no remorse and even have tried to cover their backs by changing certain authorizations that were in effect at the time of the rental to look like they weren’t approved. We arrived to our vehicle and the back tire was flat, front tire was low, car was covered in sand (#notclean), dents, drivers door was duct taped together, and the coolant light was on so the car loudly beeped every few minutes to warn us that our car may over heat.     I was under the impression that car would be at Denver airport but it was actually a $60 Uber away. That’s right, $120 on top of Turo fee bc owner had too many Turo rentals going out at the same time. When I asked upon returning if I could drop at the airport at midnight he said yes, then told me later on the day I’m returning car that no actually he needs it at his house because he’s rented it to someone else the next morning at 8:30AM.

    Which leads me to my second concern with Turo overall. I’d been in communication with the owner to let him know car has a flat tire and that I was at mechanic to repair and was willing to pay for plug or patch myself. He asked me to take to big box tire company. I drove there on flat tire. Terrified on the interstate. Well they were booked up through next week. I call another Big O Tires and another, all are booked up. I drive back to mechanic and have air put in tires but let owner know the tire needs to be inspected... YET he rents it out the next day with no time for to be inspected?!?! I had a midnight return scheduled but rushed the car to him around 4 PM so that he could have tire looked at but I doubt he ever did. And I have thought about calling customer service but they’d only offer me Turo credit and that’s not okay with me. I want a refund. It was not at all an experience that would lead me to suggest Turo to other people.

Great first impression and experience though. One thing is that I registered with my Canadian driver's license and have recently received my California driver's license.     I typically drive a Jeep Wrangler and the car I rented off Turo was lower than what I'm used to. I wish the owner made it aware that the car is more likely to be scratched under the front bumper when parking. (Curb, and parking stoppers will scratch the vehicle.) Personally I believe that vehicle is problematic for future drives if the same kinda scratched keep occurring. The driver made sure to take pictures of underneath the bumper too leading me to think they know this is a common problem. Looked like there was something staled on the seats.... the vehicle could have been cleaner.

    I think Turo is a great platform, and it seems lots of folks have good experiences with it. I just had a very bad experience with my first rental from Justin. I chose Turo vs. standard rental companies because of a unique selection of cars available, and some hosts offer drop-off which was very convenient. I also liked the idea of the vehicle-sharing community. Which is all great, until there's a dispute.

    My host told me ahead of time I would be allowed extra miles, but then attempted to charge me for them afterwards. He then tried to charge me a cleaning fee because the car was dusty when I returned it, even though on his profile he advertises "we clean it so you don't have to." Finally, he tried to charge me for under-the-bumper damage even though the prior condition wasn't verified in any of the pictures we took ahead of time, and the car had 55,000 miles on it. Turo eventually cleared all of the extra charges, so the host left me a nasty review as his last resort. I had to spend weeks disputing the charges, hearing I would be sent to collections, etc. It turned out ok at the end but next time I'm going with Avis.

    Summary: If you're looking for a unique experience, you can get access to very cool cars and some options you don't have with standard rental companies. Take lots of pictures before the rental and make sure you explicitly detail all special requests and questions with the host ahead of time. It's what saved me ~$1500 in bogus charges and damage claims.

We don't find out until after we've rented the vehicle that there are some hoops to jump through.     Turo makes it possible for me not to own a car and only rent when I need. Prices are way better than renting from a regular rental company and the included (for a fee) insurance is also a much better deal than renting from a regular rental company. A cautionary note: read the reviews of car and renter before renting. Most of my Turo experiences have been great, but I have had a few not so great. Not enough to deter me from continuing to use the service.

    So glad I did research and found Turo! Turo has came in hand. You don’t have to submit a deposit. You just pay for your days, fees and insurance! You can range your daily price from any amount you want, you can look at pics and find cars nearest to your location. You can book same day, or next day! Really helpful! I love it.     Will not recommend Turo because my insurance does not cover Turo rentals and most likely the credit card that I used will not cover the rear-end I was in. I had no fault. The other driver had no insurance. If this was a real rental company would be able to my credit card coverage and my insurance. Unless you can help me some way I will never recommend Turo to anyone I know.

    When I returned the vehicle it was on a full tank and the vehicle was clean and the person I rented the car from said it was not full and the car was not clean. I was communicating with the person the day before drop off and the day of drop off and nobody was there to meet meet to make sure the vehicle was up to standard. I couldn’t take pics because I was trying to catch my flight. And tried to charge me a cleaning and gas fee.
