Depending on where you're going, Turo can make renting a car even more convenient and economical than the traditional rental car companies. Just be communicative in your bookings and updating your host. It's a little more reliant on communication than the rental companies, depending on your expectations.

First host cancelled our trip the night before we were supposed to leave on an early morning trip we had booked 6 weeks ahead of time. We booked another Jeep which the host had advertised as good for long trips and rated at 18 mpg. Once on the highway we immediately realized, the lifted jeep was not meant for the highway as it was bucking and pulling all over. We returned it immediately. The host left us a bad review for this as he was not accommodating to either of our 2 requests. 1-to be able to leave my motorcycle there as it was quite a drive to pickup this vehicle since he didn't offer delivery. He didn't permit this either so uber/lyft was only option ad additional cost. 2-he would not allow us to add the EZ-pass to our account making it very difficult to travel on the toll roads without big long calls. Turo credited us a bit which helped but did not cover all the extra expenses.

Fabian our host was outstanding. He went out of his way for us and really helped us out. Cars in Oahu are scarce at the moment. We needed transport, after we engaged with Fabian everything was perfect, Thank you again for being a super host.

Thank God for such in a day when rental cars have become unheard of in Hawaii. Would do again. Have another car already reserved. Hoping for the same great experience. Certainly a great way to rent something you may never get a chance to drive.

SCAM ALERT! If I could leave negative stars I would. 2 hours into my rental, I got a flat tire. Turo did provide road side assistance and at first reimbursed me for the tire repair. Then they reversed the reimbursement for the tire repair without first notifying me as to why. Turo also charged me for a late drop off fee which I had to show them the time I dropped the car off and a plane ticket showing departure time.
After speaking with customer service, the representative said that they were going to remove the late charge, but they never did. Then Turo charged my card again for an even higher amount than the previous late fee. I tried calling and emailing several times with no response. I finally had to close my credit card and dispute 3 fraudulent charges with Visa. Turo is a rip off and they are nothing but low life scam artists. I am glad I never gave them my real SSN when they required it at time of rental... which I thought was very suspicious. Never give turo your real ssn! No other car rental company asks for that type of personal information! This company should be investigated for fraud!

I reserved this car 4 weeks in advance. I paid the full price upfront. The car never showed up. My girlfriend was left stranded at the airport and rental car prices had doubled from a month earlier. DO NOT TRUST TURO.

We used Turo for the first time last weekend and it could not have been easier. Our driver Shannon met us at arrivals at the airport, the car was exactly as pictured, and drove great. Communication through the app was seamless. Definitely using again soon.

Wonderful experience!! Would definitely rent from Turo again in the future! Hands down the best car ever!! It was fuel efficient and got a lot of looks. I will be purchasing a Ford mustang in the next couple of years. Wish I could’ve bought it from him. Yes yes yes!! Thanks again!!!

Using TURO is so much easier and cheaper than trying to rent through big car rental companies. I also like that my money goes to an actual person, and not to a corporation. My experiences have been all positive, and I recommend TURO to anyone looking to rent a vehicle.

Overall, my experience was good. Only things I didn’t like were the fees. Owner of the car charged a mandatory $25 clean up fee. I booked the car without, and was forced to add it. Kinda bait and switch. It made the rental pricey. It is an electric car, and they billed for the recharging that I did, which is fine. The clean up fee, I mean, come on. The way it was written in the listing made it look optional, but it wasn’t.

The process to rent a car via the Turo app is so so much easier vs enterprise. Turo gives an option for the car to be delivered and/or picked up right from the requested location. I use turo for all vacations and I don't see myself using a different app to rent vehicles.

I was able to rent a nicer car for less money than using a traditional car rental service. My host was communicative and the process was simple. I had no issues whatsoever and therefore have no comment to make on support on the Turo side. I will be using Turo for all of my needs moving forward.

With rental prices being so high, I came to Turo and found great selection with affordable pricing. Great service, have used once in the past and plan to use in the future! My rental included easy pickup and drop off at the DFW airport. It worked perfect for our family vacation!

Mauricio was a great host and his vehicle was everything he listed and some. Will definitely rent from him again and use Turo. Couldn’t of wanted more in a luxury rental. Was able to cruise Miami streets in top of the line luxury. Can’t get any better.

We booked Jzendra’s Durango because the description said it seated 7 people. We had 7 adults and needed all of the seats. When we arrived to pick up the vehicle and began the check-in process, we noticed there were only 6 seats. The owners called me while we were checking the vehicle for previous damage and during our conversation Jzendra mentioned, “we have cameras and can see you”, which was really just not necessary to say. Furthermore, the owners informed us that the vehicle in fact only had 6 seats even though it was clearly advertised on Turo as having 7. The owners said they don’t set those details, that it was all set up by Turo based on the VIN number. If we had known it was a 6 seat vehicle ahead of time we would not have booked this vehicle.
This error put two members of our group at a safety risk because we chose to squeeze in the car, and not only that, but also made it super uncomfortable during a three and a half hour ride. We didn’t have the time or the money budgeted to find another solution, so we had to make it work. We notified Turo about this issue, but never heard anything back. And finally, on our last day, we noticed that the description for the Durango had been changed from a 7 seat vehicle to a 6 seat vehicle...go figure. I’m giving this review 3 stars, because Jzendra did help by allowing us 2 extra hours with the vehicle and allowed us to drop the vehicle off at the airport rather than at her home.

Host was unresponsive. Car was misadvertised as a 2016 instead of a 2019. Car smelled like cigarettes and could not get through to Turo customer service. Host was not available for drop off. Had to leave key on balcony after getting in contact with son. We have a winner of a company here. Worst experience ever.

What an amazing idea this is. It was an easy pick up and easy drop off. The price was great. The car is nice. I highly recommend using Turo cars. So much easier than renting a car from the car rental agencies. Best thing I have ever done.

I requested an earlier time. I was told the "exterior" of the vehicle was dirty. I replied a little dirt is fine. When I pick up the vehicle it is dirty alright. Outside was filthy and the inside was just as bad. I went to a car wash. Cleaned the outside but I was not going to sit there and vacuum a rental. I left the interior as is. I wiped down the interior with Clorox wipes that I bought because I'm pretty certain it was not disinfected and sanitized. Unhappy with the car's cleanliness. I returned the vehicle cleaner and with extra gas than how I got it. Overall not a great Turo experience.

I wish the disclosure of the refundable security deposit was a bit more noticeable. Everything else was great, use of app, person I rented the vehicle from, etc. I can imagine this services is much easier than a normal rental car experience with a different selection of vehicles.

Turo's approach to list prices given search parameters is unethical. They list prices that they don't honor when selecting a car. The price is increased in at least 20% which is very frustrating given that one spent time to weigh in options during the search phase. When agents were contacted, their answers made no sense at all. Turo's chat service allows a user to upload files, so I uploaded screenshots of 3 screens: 1) search results, 2) selected vehicle, and 3) checkout. The agent's final comment was "my apologies for the misunderstanding"!

I rented a car from Turo. The break light was out. I called them. The breaks were loud. I returned the car with 45 minutes after I got the car. The host Diego lied and they charge me almost 50. He sent over a report two hours after I returned the car so in that time he obviously got the light fixed. They only care about money.

Rented a car through Turo for a 3 day weekend trip. Check engine light came on (during day 1). Turo/host offered no help. The host blamed me for check engine light failure, and told me it was my responsibility to return the car in its original state (whatever that means). Meanwhile, I tried to have the car towed, but Turo's "Roadside Assistance" kept directing me to take the car to a dealership to have it repaired.
As a result of the faulty check engine light, we wasted nearly a half a day, driving from dealership to dealership, to assess what was wrong with the car. Not only did Turo not give back any refund or concessions, they allowed owner to tack on an additional $54 at the end of trip in reported "excessive cleaning" fees, which is a complete joke. They also managed to take this from my credit card account without any prior approval. Host made up bogus claims that we left "sticky film" in the car, which is total **. Our group of 4 adults only had bottled water in the car, and did not eat any food, drinks or snacks in the car besides our water. As evidence of the excessive dirtiness, Turo literally provided a picture of the floor carpet which had some dirt, some gum wrappers in a cup holder, and empty water bottle on the floor, and some dried grass which somehow wound up in the trunk space.
Turo's own cleaning policy says you don't have to vacuum the carpets, unless it's excessively dirty. This company is a joke. Their prices are cheaper than more reputable car rentals, but steer clear and avoid the headache. They find any way to nickel and dime you, and you get no support whatsoever if your car breaks down. This will be my first and last time I use Turo to rent a vehicle, and I am disputing this entire transaction with my credit card. No help. Car was unsafe to drive, as speeds was capped under 50 mph. Turo also won't allow neg review.

Streamline process with great prices and options. I prefer to not wait in line at Enterprise after a long flight so I do Turo all the time. All the host I’ve rented from have all been wonderful. From Portland to Hawaii. If you feel like renting something exotic you can drive your dream car.

Please don't use this company. It is a scam. I was traveling to Hawaii and rented a truck and paid for my reservation in advance. One hour before I landed the host texted me "the car is broke". I called host and he said needed new tires and I need to cancel reservation and find new truck. I tried to find another truck but none was available. Turo offered to rent me the same truck but for $ 4,500. This was $3,100 more than I agreed and paid for. They offered to take 20% off the new amount but still $2,200.00 more than agreed upon amount. The company knew there were no more trucks and ripped me off, ruined my vacation. Crooks!

Had a great, easy experience finding and renting the car I wanted. At first, there was no van available so I rented a Toyota Camry. It was a family trip so a van would be better but a Camry was the biggest car available for my budget. Next day a van became available. It was easy to cancel the Camry, no hassle whatsoever. I immediately rented the van and had a great experience. My host Armaldo was awesome. He maintained great communication prior to, during and after my trip, always readily available. I can't say enough good things about Turo, my host and the overall experience. I'll say this... I'm never renting a car the traditional way. Turo all the way!!

Love using Turo.. Great cars, and the handlers usually set reasonably prices.. however Turo charged a service fee that was a few dollars short of the car's daily rate. Crazy. Cars are beautiful and the app is extremely user friendly.

The trip cost was ok, however, there was a thing called "trip fee" which is as high as the trip cost, so it more than doubled my total cost. I called the customer service and they told me it is calculated by the system and it factored in depreciation, wear & tear, etc., although it stated that it is a percentage of the trip cost, in my case it is 100%. The customer service refuses to solve my problem and as an old customer who has been using Turo for many years, I am extremely frustrated with the system and the customer service. I hope the company would give me a response and change this so it won't lose other loyal customers.

It's nice being able to rent a car when you need one on a whim. The drawback is having to deal with the owner and hope that they are being honest. The car I rented had expired tags, so that was a bit sus but it doesn't really reflect on Turo as a company. I would use it again and recommend to a friend.

One thing to improve would be to give reminder to driver in pre check out to gas or fill electric on the cars. Also, to clean if they have not prepaid for these items. I don't feel like notifications push to text messages.

So far every car I have rented has been a great experience. I already have two more rentals in mind and one lined up for this weekend. I like being able to choose what I want to drive. The cost is what I can afford at the time not a fixed rate like the commercial rentals that you get a limited choice or no choice at all for the vehicle. There are plenty of conveniences to this program and many options with each rental.

I’ve used Turo for several years and it has always been a great alternative to rental cars. The vendors have all been helpful and professional. I find many times the vehicles are superior in quality while being more economical to the selections that are available at the rental centers.

Excellent cars and people!!!! Let me ask you something. I had a car ready for me on March 31st. The airline canceled our flight and therefore I had to cancel my car. I missed a very big event that day. Why did you only give me partial credit. I had no control over the situation and I want the entire refund please.

This is my second time using this service, and it is excellent! Especially during a busy holiday 'Mother's day' we were just visiting Hawaii to relax and enjoy the beaches, other rental services were asking for $300 and up a day!!! That's insane! I have been a host for years and guest on Turo. They were good when they initially started. But since they've got some momentum they seldom care. They aren't on their words. They only speak for sales. For claims; you can't speak to anyone at all. It's a slow process through email back and forth till adjuster is assigned. And the claims adjuster is hard to get on the phone. It took me 3 months to get my car back on the road with Turo insurance. They not having a physical office and not being able to get hold of them is just a slap in our own face. You really can't do anything and at their mercy until they take their time to respond. This is not just one time but every time it's happened the same. It's almost like doing another job trying to get hold of these guys and you almost always fail.

I was definitely happy once I was able to start renting on the platform, but literally since 2017 I was unable to rent with no explanation as to why, and come to find out all that was needed was additional verification which was a picture of myself holding my ID and valid payment method. To know that’s all that was needed for 4 years and nobody reached out or let me know was very upsetting. But once I was able to begin renting it was a smooth process with the host and I had a great experience.

I made a reservation, 1 hour later TRIED to cancel because I would have had to take an Uber to pick up car, too much work so while trying to cancel the reservation 2 months on advance. They took 35 minutes to cancel and tried to charge me a fee and I just made the reservation. UNBELIEVABLE.

I decided to try Turo to avoid all the extra taxes and fees the regular rental companies charge. I booked a Toyota Camry way in advance for around $50 a day. The day I arrived and was supposed to pick it up soon I got a text that said the owner is going to cancel. He messaging me during my flight but I never saw his comments. He said he was having a check engine light issue. All I know is I've landed and I got a text that said he canceled. That put me in a little panic but I got back on turo and found an even better deal for $40 a day. So everything worked out okay but I really could have been messed up. I will probably use turo again but with a little concern.

We rented a car and took great care of it. After the trip, the owner picked up the car, inspected it, and drove off. Only later that day did he claim a huge crack in the window was present. However, upon inspection and even driving off in the car, it was not noticed. So, the car was damaged after it was outside of our control and now Turo is forcing us to pay $1500 to fix the windshield.

Hello Team. I hope you are doing well. I am loyal customer of Turo app since starting of 2018. I will not recommend app to anyone because they are just considering the host perspective and not the guest perspective. As per my reservation number **, I had returned the car to the host and for which he charged inappropriate fees.
First of all, he charged cleaning fees. The host of the car never took the photos of the car showcasing how dirty it was when I took the car from him. Secondly I charged me for the gas ⛽. I returned the car with 1/4 filled and have been using this car for 23 days so I was getting this car refilled for 30$ at Arco gas station. He charged 50$ and that too on May 2 vs I returned the car on April 30. He used the car for 2 days. This car is only a hatchback not a SUV and hatchback get refilled for 30$ only. Kindly review my case and revert back.. I want to review this host as one of my bad experience at Turo and will not recommend this to anyone.

The entire process as far as Turo and Carlos went was flawless and extremely professional. The ability to communicate and change plans via message is great. We decided to keep it an additional day and everything was as simple as 1,2,3 and it was done. Nice Car. Just needs some work done. Power Steering is off. Once you get up to a certain speed it shakes, the passenger side door is off track. It was a little difficult finding it at the airport because it was our first time! Overall it could have been a better experience.

Horrible customer service, and the hosts are scamming guests!! Turo is allowing this because it makes them money. Renting a car from Turo is not worth the risk! I was charged a cleaning fee when I left the car spotless!! Turo was not helpful and just gave automated responses without finding a solution. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. They will try and take your money and let hosts do sketchy practices! I also read that they don't allow many 0-4 stars reviews on their "all star" hosts. Turo Trip fee is too high. No company should charge a fee as high as the car daily rental price itself. It’s absurd and disgusting. It’s a shame. I have rented cars through Turo for more than 3 years. Over the last week my account was restricted due to no fault of my own and I emailed, chatted, and even found a hidden phone number to call in an attempt to get my issue resolved. For more than a week I was shuffled from one department to the next without any help or resolution. Each person promised that the issue would be resolved and to my dismay there never came any help. I asked for a call from someone in management, and again was promised one in "no more than 2 hours," which also never happened. As a business owner, if my employees treated my clients like this I would be out of business. This is sad that a company that could be so great has absolutely ZERO customer support when it is needed. Everything with the app is great until you need help and then you are left on your own.

The car was clean and waiting for me. The owner had wipes and masks in the car for my use, plus emergency supplies in the trunk. I had to leave early, due to a family emergency, and the owner was very understanding and even credited the unused days.

Lots of great things on Turo. It is my go-to app for a getting a car, only rarely will I go somewhere else. One thing missing for me personally is I never know if the car I get will be clean (mostly on the outside, insides are almost always close to perfect). I have had several cars that were legit dirty on the outside, and while I have tended not to complain, I do like to plan on getting a clean car! To the point where I would pay extra to guarantee a clean or lightly detailed car. I also wish more owners would use the Turo Go option, it is really great and creates a seamless experience. In summary, keep up the good work, I love being able to rent interesting cars!

I have had nothing but great experiences with Turo. This was my second Turo rental and I have two more scheduled this year. Both owners were great to work with. My only suggestion would be to show the total cost to rent a car for the specified date range rather than just the daily charge as the delivery fee can make a difference in the total cost.

I’m very unhappy with the owner. His drop off/pick up location was extremely far from where I was & I let him know over an hour ahead of time that I was running behind because I was so far out & they had traffic. Usually owners don’t mind if you’re running behind simply because I gave them a heads up. I’m extremely disappointed & annoyed by the fact I was charged over $100 for being a little late. I’m offended, insulted, & will never rent from Andy again.

The customer service for this company is abysmal so please keep that in mind when relying on this service for any essential travel arrangements. Based on my experience, I would say it's doubtful you'll receive any assistance if run into any issue that requires human intervention. My account was restricted for unspecified reasons when I signed up. Despite following up multiple times, there was not one actual step taken to help resolve or even communicate what the issue was. I was just given some boilerplate response about someone reviewing your account eventually. I do not have any issues with my driving record, credit, nor license, that has precluded me from any other rental service.

I was supposed to pick up the car in the morning!!!! I get off my flight at 1 AM and get a notification that my host canceled the trip. I am supposed to pick it up in the morning. And I go to try to rent something else and there are no other cars available so I am left in Dallas after spending a bunch of money to fly down here for 5 days to look at houses WITHOUT A CAR. It ruined my whole trip.
Here is the cherry on top!!! The host didn't cancel because of an emergency or car troubles NO. He canceled because he is busy tomorrow and it would be hard to drop the car off. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? This should not be allowed to happen. He just doesn't feel like following through so he can cancel my trip 10 hours before?!?! But you know what would have happened if I canceled 10 hours before! I would have had to pay for my reservation but a host on Turo can cancel at ANY TIME (even if you go to pick up the car and they don't like the look of you) and there are no repercussions. Stick to the corporate companies. They are a little more expensive but this would have never happened. Not to mention I have picked up dirty cars or hosts that have been late.

This is a horrible company I have ever gone through. This is my first time we had so many issues with our car. The guy told us nothing was wrong when the gears wouldn’t shifts, the brakes were messed up and the radio overheated in one hour of having it. I do not recommend for anyone as this was the worst rental I have ever had. I will never go through this company again as this guy was so unprofessional. We told him multiple times we felt unsafe and he did not care.

I reserved a minivan for my family to attend a wedding. It was a great price and room for all. Unfortunately I have the death of a close friend occur right before I left for the wedding and was delayed by a day. Had this been a conventional rental agency I have no doubt that the reservation may have been held but the car not released to my family. Our host however stepped up and made sure all was taken care of. We had had everyone sign up for Turo in advance. All is well that ends well. Can't say enough about the flexibility of our host. This is a great agency. In some markets the prices are almost the same a commercial agencies. But flexibility is the key and you guys are rocking it in the arena.

Brannon's car was amazing. It was so clean and drives so smooth. It makes you feel like you are driving around in luxury. It's perfect for a big family with luggage. Brannon is very responsive and replies almost instantly. He is accommodating and kind. The best thing about his car is that you don't need to try and stress out about getting a sun pass in Florida, his car has a sunpass on it already which makes it much more convenient than a rental car from the airport.

I had a better experience overall this go round. The vehicle was as described. However, there needs to be something requiring the owners of these vehicles to maintain their vehicles regularly. I didn't know until after the fact that the owner of the vehicle I rented has a history of ignoring vehicle service lights on his car. The light popped on while I was driving as well and his response is just to ignore. The other issue I had, which was an issue last time as well, is that most rental companies provide a full tank of gas when you check a vehicle out. There was only 1/4 tank of gas in the car when I received it - thankfully I didn't have too far to go but I don't think it's a lot to ask for a full tank, especially if the owner is going to expect it to be full when they receive it back (which many of them do).

I had messaged you guys already about this before I planned to dispute my charges. My host left. I was a little late meeting him for pick up as I overslept. My trip was for 10 AM. I messaged at 10:18 to tell him I was in elevator to come meet him. He told me that he had already left and was too far away to come back, which means he didn't wait very long. Granted he did message me at 9:55 to tell me he was on his way and where he'd be, but I thought the standard grace period or even COMMON COURTESY was to wait at least 30 minutes. I am a host as well and have been burdened by late meet ups, late returns, delayed flights, etc... But one thing I know is good customer service and this hosts was NOT good. I didnt want to give him a 1 rating to hurt him, so I did 3 because I felt it was disappointing that he didn't wait for me and didn't offer to come back, even though he was going to charge me $100 extra as an incidental for delivering to and fro.

I had to get into a rental car recently as my vehicle was unable to be used for a while, and Toyota was sponsoring me for $50/day. Unfortunately, the selection for that price point is very limited, especially if you take the taxes and fees into consideration. While the experience with Hanna (my host) was great, I did end up going with Enterprise car rental this week as the same $50/day enabled me to get into a luxury vehicle (Tesla Model S). I do not believe the current prices and selection at Turo are competitive enough today to match those more traditional car rental agencies. It is a shame as I do prefer the transparency and workflow of Turo over the typical rental fleet websites, but the prices and fees of Turo simply make it the less attractive option for me at this time. Had a guest crash my car and Turo tried making me pay for it when the guest was 100% responsible for it. Almost $2k damages. Turo takes most of the profit you make and never reply to your problems. Their “claims” department has no phone number and only reply to you through email because they are horrible with customer service so it’s easier for them to ignore emails. I had that same guest threaten me on the app and Turo just ignored it. They banned my car for random things that made no sense and after fighting with customer service chats they would re-list my car. They need some help with business skills. I went with Uber for my services and I hope Turo goes out of business.

I have rented my vehicle out 8 times. They do not back their vehicle owner. I have tried several times to get reimbursements from customers having animals in the car, bringing the car back without fueling it up, effective dirt in the car, and vehicle scratches. They make it very difficult to get reimbursed. Even though they it is clear in the policy. First of all, you really have to dig to find the damage reimbursement form. You never win. They only care about the renter.
I have clear fees for airport delivery and they did not charge the last customer for it. I also specified no discounts PERIOD. And they rented my car with a discount. They must have been changed with the last software posted. This platform is not to be trusted. I would give them “0” if I could. They do not deserve a “1” rating. Run from this platform!!! Do not trust Turo unless you are renting. DO NOT list you vehicle for rent with them.

When I returned the car, I vacuumed the whole car to make sure it stayed clean. Later, I was told that I had missed a few spots and left a small amount of dog hair on the car. Upon learning this, I immediately apologized and agreed to a $50 charge imposed by the host.
I had also given the host a 5-star review and wrote him a nice review. Almost immediately after I agreed to the $50 cleaning charge, the host changed his mind and slapped me with a $200 charge. I went to check Turo’s policy page, which specifically states that “Per Hair Removal” fee is $150, which is reserved for “significant amount of hair” and is the same price as “extreme cleaning” (their own words.)
I contacted the host and Turo support multiple times but they just stopped responding altogether, while forcefully charging me the full $200 PLUS a 3% processing fee PLUS sales tax. I have never, in my decade of renting cars, experienced something like this. Long story short, you never know how much you’re going to be charged for when you book with Turo. They will slap a $200 fee on you without explanation and it’s best to stay away.

Ease of use, good selection, effective communication with host, ability to edit length of rental or cancel, clearly spelled out terms. Only thing I would like to see is a calendar of availability for a specific model if I have flexibility of dates to rent. E.g., I'd like to see all Porsches in the Bay Area and see a calendar of open time frames rather than have to enter dates first before I can see what's available.

Got the car booked. When I was in airplane booking got canceled due to whatever reason, says something with the ride. So I end up have no car when I’ve got to Las Vegas. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Turo. I had to drop my rental off early to catch a flight. The app allows you to request an earlier drop off and as soon as the owner approved it, I was good to go. I also like the fact that insurance is added. And right now you can rent a really nice vehicle on Turo cheaper than the big rental agencies. Some owners will deliver the vehicle to the airport, or keep their vehicles in the parking garage. There are no hidden fees, everything is spelled out for you unlike rental agencies. I will continue to use Turo!!

My overall trip experience with my host was awful. What made it more difficult is trying to contact someone from Turo to help me work through the issues I had had with the host and my experience. Please get some phone customer service options available to your customers. I can only imagine how an elder customer would feel. For this reason I will not be using Turo in the future. As a consumer, you make it impossible to speak to anyone especially the departments that are most likely to generate the most calls. It’s a wonderful concept an app but unfortunately the customer service lacks greatly!! Get it together Turo. This is 2021. I shouldn’t have to chase around a company and spend time from 12:15pm to 2:50pm MST being tossed around like a hot potato to all the different departs 5-6 times, visiting some departments twice and being told different information. Please hand my claim in a decent amount of time, only that will be this saving grace in this situation.

We were looking to rent a car on a recent trip to Dallas. Originally had a reservation with a main agency in the area. The day after we booked, they called and cancelled, saying they didn't have any cars available....weird, but OK. Now, I started looking for a car with other agencies. NONE were available anywhere in the entire DFW area. Shocked, I checked Turo and found a car. Not only was my host the most awesome guy you could ask for, the cost was about half of what it was going to cost at the most discount of discount agencies. I have used Turo twice now for car rentals. I have had a great experience both times. Both hosts were easy to work with. Their cars were exactly as described and pick-up and drop-off were a breeze. Turo has a great selection of cars. Most people shouldn’t have any trouble finding a car to meet their specific needs. The app and website are easy to navigate. You will most likely get a way better deal using Turo compared to one of the major rental car companies. Things like adding an extra driver are easier and so far I have not paid extra for that. Turo will always be my go-to for car rentals. I don’t see an advantage anymore in using one of the “name brand” companies. I’m so glad to have a better, more affordable option.

I like the selection of cars available on Turo. I’ve been looking at the app for a while, but finally decided to use Turo because it’s a little more convenient than other rental car companies. You know exactly what kind of car you’re getting instead of a random selection from other companies. I had a good experience, but my rental was from a company instead of an individual person’s vehicle. I’ll give Turo a try again, hopefully everything and interactions with the host goes smoothly again.

I have been looking at Turo for a few years—hesitant to utilize the service for myself and even more hesitant to become a host and offer the services of my own vehicle. This year, I can now say that I’m doing both and am quite happy with the results. This is a wonderful service that offers something on both sides of the coin— affordable service and helpful additional income! I look forward to utilizing Turo MANY times in the days and trips ahead!

The pictures of the car I had rented was nothing like what the car actually looked like. The car was pretty much being held together by duct tape. (The rear bumper and side skirts as well as the side view mirrors). The biggest concern of mine was that the owner of the car hid the fact that his tire sensor gauge light was on by placing a piece of duct tape over the light so I was unable to see it because it was dark out. Even if I had seen it I had no choice but to take the car because I was on a business trip. This is a huge liability and made me feel unsafe especially because I had to travel 300+ Miles. The car should not be on Turo.

Loved using Turo, easier and more affordable than a typical rental company. Quick pick up, car was in great condition and the host was present to help with picking up the keys and made sure the car was cleaned and ready to go. Definitely plan to use Turo again. Drew was a great host!

I have been a host on Turo for 5 years now. I have had up to 4 cars on their site. I have been getting more and more annoyed over the years as they decrease coverage on my cars, and increase the percentage they get of the revenue. I finally had my last straw, a guest crashed one of my cars months ago and I still have not been paid. Not only that they are finding every opportunity to nickel and dime me. Ex. not giving my rental car credit as I am without my main vehicle. I've had it with them and I am delisting all of my cars. Don't do turo as a host!

After renting the car, the host made false claims of car damage. Damage that was clearly preexisting, as well as damage that was not on my drop off photos. You get what you pay for and I will not be using Turo again. Pay the extra money. Go with Avis or Hertz.

Besides the car itself, this Host going by the name of Vlad was an absolute angel. Very respectful, he treats you as if you’re his brother or sister and is very patient with you. Great experience. Daniel was extremely nice and professional. The car was great to drive in and extremely clean. No issues at all, the car drive like new, and great price. The car was equipped with all cleaning protocols to sanitize the car.

While booking the car with Turo, I purchase the standard protection. When I was driving the car, a small stone hit the windshield and gave a big crack. When I was trying to file a claim with Turo I then found out Turo will cost some kind of 'processing fee'. It's kind of a hidden charge and I felt like being cheated. You should mention that when a person is selecting the insurance while booking the car.

It's very easy to book a car and communicate with the owner through the app. I have used Turo in the past a few years ago and feel the price of cars is up. Some of the cars definitely are not worth what they're priced at. But I do like the ease of renting through Turo and there's no hidden fees like with some car rental companies.

Hosts and renters beware - Turo platform is not safe. Im a host. I was defrauded and scammed. My Audi S4 was stolen because of a major security breach. I was contacted by an individual that rented my high end vehicle only to find out the renters account was hacked and my vehicle had been stolen. Went thru a process of obtaining a police report and contacted audi to track the vehicle. Turo recovery associate has informed me that their platform was hacked and not to worry as long as I follow their recovery and claims process im covered by their million dollar insurance policy. 6 weeks later, Im contacted by Kyle ** who casually informs me at 8:45 pm that him and his supervisor Tara ** have decided to deny my claim.
Completely disregarding the fact that their platform was hacked, that they has been a major security breach. Completely missing the point that millions of users are signed up and must provide their personal info, bank and credit info. Im shocked that I was fed lies for 6 weeks thinking im covered under their million dollar policy. Guys, security breach. Hackers can at any point obtain personal information and turo dont seem to care about their hosts. If hosts dont post their vehicles for rent. What is turo without cars? Im extremely disappointed and I will not leave this matter alone, I am a victim of theft and anyone using turo can be a victim of identity theft.

When taking vacation I enjoy the very easy process of renting a car. Free delivery service on some vehicles beats going to a rental car desk and filling out a form or speaking with an agent. I find Turo to have very competitive pricing compared to most rental car agencies. I would recommend using Turo for each vacation when considering renting a car. I will!

My first time booking with Turo., I booked my car and messaged the host. It became an hour before I pick up the vehicle and still hadn’t heard from the host. Seeing that it was 30 minutes to 11am. I ordered my Lyft and proceeded to the address given., during my ride I finally get a call from the host, which he says his car hasn’t been returned by another renter. Let’s keep in mind that I was 20min away from his home. He gave me some apologies but of course that was empty for me because this was a $50 Lyft ride. So, I told him I would arrive at his residence and contact turo., and then he said he would see if his other car could be switched out.
I arrived at his residence while it was raining and stood outside in the rain waiting for the host and contacting turo. It was probably the worst first experience I’ve had on a app., seeing that I was recommended. Glad the host could accommodate but with my funds immediately being taken and feeling as if I have no confirmation of a rental., it only felt okay because it was my hometown but if I was anywhere else, this might have gone worst.

Geremy was a great host, super responsive and feedback was quick. Pick up was seamless and just as described, we felt it was a good value for the Mustang convertible we rented, not to mention it smelled good / no nasty rental smoke smell! You cannot beat not having to stand in line at a ticket counter waiting for a vehicle that may or may not be available. This is our second time renting on Turo and we won't go back to traditional rental companies.

This was my first time using Turo as a renter. I was happy to see a wide variety of vehicles available for rent, but disappointed that the renter has to pay fees as well as the vehicle owner. Turo is reaping it in from both parties which seems a little unfair.

I was just needing some inexpensive local transportation for a couple of days and I rented Lamar's Hyundai Elantra which was perfect. It was mechanically sound and good in appearance, performed flawlessly and everything worked as it should. Lamar, as the owners of other Turo cars was easy to work with and accommodating with in reason. I will always look for Turo availability wherever I travel and highly recommend it to others whether you are looking for basic transportation or a high performance ride.

So we had a record snowstorm come to Texas as everyone knows! Not once did TURO try to reach out to me that they may have to cancel my trip! After the owner of the rental reached out to me saying he couldnt get his car back I called Turo who cancelled my trip like no big deal without contacting the host first. So after I get off the phone I messaged the host and he said he was getting the car!!! So turo screwed up!!! I asked for the trip to be reinstated and they said I have to rebook it and pay another deposit fee of $500. Well the deposit fee they took from me initially in 2 seconds has to take 10 days to come back to my bank account.
I spent $1200 on this site and it was absolutely horrible!!! I mean you want someone to be double charged for $500 and not immediately deposit the funds!! But want them to pay another deposit?!?! Short Version: They take your money in seconds but tell you to wait 10 days and then try to charge you more to rebook instead of making it right! Bad Business and I will never recommend this company and will make sure all my friend steer (pun intended) clear of this poorly managed establishment!

My first experience with Turo was average. The reason why was because the first vehicle I rented was a tesla model 3. The owner cancelled on me the night before saying the car was not available. I then rent another Tesla which is a Model Y, then the gentleman said this car is not available also. I finally tried to rent my third Tesla in a row. Same story, Tesla was not available. Three straight times I could not rent the car I really wanted. I recommend that if the cars are not available, that they be taking off your platform immediately for those specific dates.

The vehicle I had first booked no longer existed but the transaction was still able to go through. I had to wait another 2 hrs outside the pick up location for another vehicle. Customer service was good but I was disappointed in Turo for allowing that to happen.

Turo immediately alerted me (2am) and had other recommendations that fit my price range and rental selection. Another great experience with Turo! This was very Challenging for me as a 1st time client. (65yrs old) First of all because I was unable to download the App. Onto my simple "Android " phone so that I could communicate as the Turo site advised for service. I hated having to go through so much just to get the extensions that I needed in a hurry. Then I got Stuck with the "Returning of the Key Tube"... No matter how hard I tried, I could NOT get the key to fit back inside and now I'm just remembering that I should have folded it back into the case. I called the android owner but he too forgot to tell me to fold the key back into its own casing. Not having any human contact was frustrating and very scary for me as a FIRST TIME customer.

Beware. The TL;DR is the vehicle we rented had 2 very unsafe tires. The belt on one blew on the highway, and one had less than 2/32" of tread. Both were verified by experts in writing at Goodyear. We were forced to replace both tires on our dime -- and now both Turo and the owner refuse to repay us. Turo's support org is the worst we've ever experienced at a tech company by far and is genuinely unhelpful. We provided Turo extensive documentation on all of this but they would not rectify the situation in the first 10 attempts, and never even got an apology.

Turo does not want to pay out on claims-they are not clear upfront and it is a disgrace. There is no number to call claims, the customer service only state things to brush you off but it is very difficult to have them get back to you. I hosted a guy with my mercedes and he broke my heat-he clearly message things he was doing to the vehicle and because I paid for the first visit, Turo dismissed my claim. I have a $6000 damage claim still sitting in mid air. They are the absolute worst. They do not care about their host. I told them this incident was happening before the trip was complete and they would not go get my vehicle. What a load of crap. Please beware and get the word out on this company. Look at the BBB reviews, so many have had problems with their claims. This is not fair to host renting out their vehicle and paying for the extra insurance.

The Finance department was not helpful at all. I decided to cancel my first reservation in order to reserve a better car. They did not explain the breakdown of costs to me, which led me to believe I had to dispute the cost of the first of the first reservation. Rather than contacting me personally to explain the charges and just simply recharging me the correct amount for the 2nd reservation, they "temporarily" deactivated my account and sent me a long list of things I had to do in order to get my account back in good standing, which, according to them, could take up to 90 days, even though my trip is scheduled for next week. At this point, because they made this process so difficult for me, at this point, I would rather just look for another company. I went with this company because it received so many good reviews, but unfortunately my experience was not pleasant at all.

Vehicle was as described. Host was prompt, excellent communication, and took care of the vehicle. Went over features of vehicle prior to departure (pick-up & return were seamless). The added feature of being able to 'see' (on a map) where to meet the host (by both of us sharing location) - or where to meet for the return was very helpful. Thank you.

Rented a white Porsche 911, and paid a lot of money. I Showed up and it was super dirty. It also would not start. I was dealing with the renters mom who didn't know anything about the car. I didn't know at the time but there were 2 fob keys, after the car started I drove off. Several miles from driving off the key fob was not being recognized by the car. I had to pull on the side of the freeway and called the person I rented it from and he did not want to meet up or drive the other key to me. I then had to drive back to get the right key and wasting my time. On the call the guy did not care for this huge inconvenience this caused me. After getting the right key I drove home to wash the car myself since all car wash places were not opened that early morning. I then drove the car back to him earlier than the time I had rented out for and even filled up the gas tank, as he only gave me the car at half full.
This was honestly the worst experience I've had renting a car. Turo is a platform were you pay to rent special cars for a special price. Turo is charging me for going over the miles and have been ignoring my emails to them about the horrible experience I had. They literally just send a generic email saying they are sorry but will be charging me an extra $100 for going over the 100 miles allowed to use while driving this car.
The next day after I contacted Turo and giving an honest review of my experience the person renting the car dropped the rental price and increased the millage to 300 miles. So how is it that I paid more money to rent the car, got a third of the miles, hand washed the car myself, returned it with a full tank of gas, but went over the miles due to having the car problems and driving the car back to the renter to pick up the correct key I had to be charged an additional amount and fees? I don't even know how this makes sense to TURO. They honestly just care about getting more money.
Till this moment they have not contacted me to discuss the situation. This platform has horrible customer service and they won't do anything but just take your money so be very careful. I was literally a perfect renter and was patient with my whole experience but Turo and the person renting out the car just want more money. I literally spent 2.5 hours of my day driving the car back and forth and hand washed it myself. I totally wasted my time. I have contacted Turo several times and they are just ignoring me. I am reasonable, level headed person but this experience was a complete headache. The person I rented the car gave me a 5 star review because I was a great renter and took great care of his car. I spent more money on the car by filling up the gas tank, as I only had to fill it back up the same way I received it.

Hi, I am Super dissatisfied and disappointed by this app, customer service and host who tried to get me to circumvent the app so he can earn more money than he stole my money, and then was super rude on the phone when I called them, then customer service doesn’t do anything to him because he’s a “super host” but it’s ok. That’s why the chargeback was invented.

After 2 reserves that cancelled- I finally got a car reserved. When I arrived- The car immediately stunk of weed and so much cigarette smoke! And really awful cologne. It smelled like a hookah lounge. I had to buy wipes and an odor spray to even pick up my girlfriend. GREAT BIRTHDAY PRESENT!! I wiped EVERYTHING down and it was still super stinky- ALL DAY! The car had food crumbs on the console, smoke ash on the dash and something that looked like jelly in a few places. I wiped that before I picked up my girlfriend. I contacted customer support and they were friendly but dismissive. In the end - a really bad Turo experience. NOT Worth the money.

It definitely an easy and convenient transaction. It would be nice if you could extend the trip a few more hours without having to pay for a whole day. The age for drivers should go down to 25 or implement something for younger drivers without having to charge so much.
