    I just rented a car through Turo in Denver. Due to bad weather, we were 3 1/2 hours late returning the car. I contacted the owner through the Turo app. He said there was no problem. He just wanted us to be safe (iDrive Enterprise-Denver). I do recommend the owner. I received a text from Turo stating they would not accept the owner's request to waive a late fee. They charged me $119 for it being returned 3 hours late. The daily rate was $70 so charging me a rate $50 more than my daily rate is poor business practices. If this is how this company operates, I will never go through them again. I will also contact my CC company to get the late fee reversed.

    Rented me a car that was illegal to be on the road due to the company not doing the proper due diligence to have processes in place to catch this. I was pulled over by a cop and given a ticket. When I told them of the situation they offered a $50 voucher for my next trip. I will not be using this service again.

    I rented a car that had mechanical issues from Turo. Turo customer service is horrible. I've been stranded in another state for over a week. I can't go to work or go home, thanks to Turo having incompetent employees that can barely speak good English.

    Updated on 12/30/2022: The fire dept arrived and police came. I was cold and the host talked to the police and fire department to arrange for a hotel for me to get warm and spend the night. The next day there were arrangements to replace the vehicle cutting my day to return home to Jan 2 instead of Jan 4, but Turo told me to return the car to the same place in North Carolina where I picked the car. That will leave me stranded in NC because I can’t rent a car.

    I am calling customer services to see if they can help me get a car that I can pick in NC and return in VA or to get help with a rental car or to pay for an Uber or Lyft. The customer representative said he will call me back. I called Turo today at 9:43 am, now is 11:22 am. I think that we can resolve this issue if they help me get home when I return the car or if they allow me to return the car in VA and they take care of the return to NC. I hope they are not trying to make things difficult because I will not give up and I think that at this point we can still resolve this so I can return home safely.

    Updated on 12/28/2022: Wrote a previous review, I want to add, I am still stranded in a hotel, the rented car from Turo was taken last night to a mechanic after it stopped running suddenly in the middle of the road, cold night. My trip is messed up and I am a budget. I rented to visit my family who are also visiting in another state. I have several medical conditions, asthma, diabetes that require an injection, I got those medicines out of the vehicle because the fire dept helped to get them out of the car because the electrical system of the car blocked the doors and they couldn’t open. Half of my belongings including a walker were left in the rented car because the police car didn’t have enough space to put all my belongings. I rented a mini van with Turo.

    The host is trying to get the car fixed today but how long it will take and the vacation time is damaged. How is Turo going to help? I am asking to see if they can provide another car today, reliable so I can pick the rest of my belongings and visit my family. Is that much to ask from Turo after the customer representative told me to walk in the middle of the night, in cold weather to find a place to charge my phone in an unknown area to me and don’t know if I can find a place in miles? That was insane. She told me to call 911 after I told her of my medical situation.

    Even with no medical issues I think it was insane from the representative to even suggest for me to walk to find a place if I ever find one, alone, in the cold dark, to charge my phone so road assistance can get in contact with me and she didn’t even know when the service can be provided. Totally insane! I could get killed! She could put in danger the life of people. Didn’t sleep well, worrying about this.

    Original Review: Rented a car via Turo. I also paid for road service. Car just broke in highway, cold weather. I have several medical conditions. I contacted the host who is helping and tried to contact support and they never answered. More than 30 minutes waiting and temperature dropping. Host finally get in contact with customer service after a long waiting and did a three call. The representative told me that they will send Triple AAA but it could take more than 3 hours to arrive or maybe longer, and if the car was in a safe place I can walk to find a place to charge my cell phone.

    In the middle of the road, night, with cold weather and medical conditions and that was the answer of customer service. Is that crazy? Then she said to call 911 which I did. Fire Dept came, police helped and took me to a safe hotel nearby and the host is paying for hotel. I am stranded already in a hotel in another town and Turo? Not answering. I took the screenshots of the time waiting with the Turo number for “Road Assistance” and the answer I had was to walk, with medical, conditions, in an unknown area, during the night, I could get killed, they put my life in danger. what kind of training they receive, or they don’t care. Just happened now. Is there a zero star?

    I registered with Turo. I have a Ukrainian driving license and an American driving license. I booked a hotel and booked a car through this application.It was for my birthday and I wanted to go to Niagara Falls with my wife. Turo blocked me and did not let me take the car. Birthday was corrupted. Turo support said that they blocked me without explanation. I do not advise anyone to use this application.

    I rented from Turo 3 times. Every single time they added extra charges but this last one, takes the cake. I rented it for 5 days. On the last day I was to return the vehicle, my father passed away unexpectedly. I wasn't prepared for that, so I needed 1 extra day. In addition to that, there was a snow storm that afternoon and highways weren't closed but easily could have been. I contacted the host, he was great and I said I would be back the following day by the time it was due. I returned it 23.5 hrs later. I didn't have any data left on my phone and I wasn't able to upload the pictures of when I dropped it off until nearly an hour later.

    The screenshot clearly shows the time and vehicle back where I picked it up 34 mins before it was back. But it didn't matter. TURO does not care about anything except charging whoever they can, for whatever they can. So, for the days after my father passed, TURO hounded me day and night. I received 7 email notices from 6 different people all telling me to pay an extra $190 for late fee and some bogus charge they call 'Improper Return Fee'. To top it off, about an hour ago, they tried charging my credit card which wasn't even on the app anymore.

    I used it once the 1st trip, and removed it after. So, even if you replace your payment method, they keep your info anyway and feel they can use it at their discretion. TURO is by far the most unethical, scam apps ever made. If you have any choice, either than renting or dealing with these people, don't. But ya, too many loopholes in this service. Allows Hosts to create problems after you return it, or even before you pick it up. Once you pay for it, anything can happen and more times than not, it does. Support doesn't know the meaning of the word. Poorest ran service/app/company I've ever dealt with.

    I reserved a Turo car late in the evening, after work, after my own car developed a problem. The host -- the renter -- was a nice enough guy, called me personally to confirm. Next day the shop called, said my own car was finished. I didn't have the Turo car, was not getting it until the next day. So I called the host (renter) and he was cool, said, "OK, it's canceled." He said I should get on the Web site and make the cancellation official. Which normally is good advice. But I can't get onto the Turo Web site. Their two-factor authentication does not work. The code never arrives, and I cannot get into my account. So I got onto customer service to chat, to either resolve the sign-on problem or cancel the reservation, whichever came first.

    They kept asking a question, then would duck out for 3-5 minutes, then would come back and ask another question, then duck out again. Eventually, they wanted a fresh picture of my driver's license up close, plus another picture of me holding my license next to my face. SMH... So I took a picture of both, using my laptop. Sent the photos. Turo said they were not clear enough, could I retake them better? The photos were taken with a laptop camera, they aren't Ansel Adams. But they were plenty clear. I could easily read the info on the license, and see myself.

    I have my license scanned, so I sent that. Scanned is nice and crisp and clear. Turo said no, they cannot take scans. How would they know the difference if I didn't tell them? All of this already had gone FAR BEYOND anything Turo ever had asked of me previously before helping with any issue. At this point I was at a roadblock with Turo. I don't have a better camera, my phone pics look the same. I couldn't make an appointment with a professional photographer in two minutes they gave me before asking whether I still was there. So I ended the chat. I still needed to cancel the booking, so I called a customer service number listed for Turo. Spent another half hour on the phone while they asked a question, put me on hold for a few minutes, etc. Same routine as before.

    Finally they said they could cancel my booking "on my behalf." For $80, a cancellation fee. By this point, I was so exasperated I didn't care. They said they could not reach the host (renter) to see if he wanted to mutually cancel, which would be free. By this point I had been online and on the phone with them for almost 90 minutes. It was worth $80 to be rid of Turo, so I canceled that way. I also scrubbed my phone contacts and email addresses of Turo. I will never do business with them again. I hope never to speak to them or see any mention of them, ever. I'm just exhausted by the process, and it cost me $80 to be worn down this way and then charged. Phew...

    If you are not a driver, nobody will speak to you. I was a passenger and the owner the credit card used to pay for our Turo trip. We received a bogus damage claim, for a scratch we had nothing to do with estimated at $1030 for repair cost. My credit card was charged without authorization, explanation or any sort of dialog. Turo does not make it clear or MANDATORY to submit pictures before the vehicle is accepted by the owner. Then allows the owner 24h to submit any type/degree of damages at the expense of the guest. If you did not take a picture (either at all or of that particular spot of the vehicle) you are out luck proving you did not cause it.

    This company needs an immediate change in policy to stop facilitating fraud. I also could not speak to anyone at all in any of their departments about my credit card charge or about the situation in general. They do not speak to you unless you are a driver or host but they will allow you to partake and pay for their services...

    My husband and I rented a car and everything was great until a few days later the owner reported the car had been smoked in. They kicked me off the app and charged $275.00. At no point had the car been smoked in, Turo has to come up with a better policy, than this scam. The driver can say whatever and that's what they go off of and they kick you off the app. I am going to put a bad review everywhere possible! Don't bother even renting from them.

    The day the host was supposed to pick up the car. He arrived early and when I came downstairs he was already in the car. I was going to double check however he began talking, got out of the car and started walking towards the building. I guess to distract me. I only had a bag which I didn't notice my belt fell out of the back seat because I pulled it from the driver's seat and didn't get to double check because host started walking towards my building. I text host the belt was left in the back behind the driver seat he said there was nothing there..He said he had not rented so he knew there was nothing there.

    After a couple of days it's still bothering me so I called Turo because it's the principle the host shouldn't go in the vehicle before time without the customer. And they tell me they can't do anything. Do I have a picture of the Gucci belt I left in the car. I told if I did I wouldn't have left it in there but I do have pictures wearing it. I expected them to allow me to speak with management and also address it differently.

    This company is money hungry. They don't stand behind their customers. I will never rent from them again. Beware the host are allowed to go into their vehicles while you're renting the car. So don't leave any valuables. You never know they could take their vehicles while you're sleeping and do God knows what and blame the customer. Scammers can't be trusted! They use their spare key to enter while you still have time on the rental. This is not professional!!!!

    I'm very familiar with renting out assets. I have an Airbnb. I rent boats, and other equipment. I use multiple apps as well, therefore, was excited to try out Turo for a car rental. Boy was that a mistake! My son has to get to his grandfather's funeral to sing in it and his Bronco was a gas guzzler, therefore, we rented a Nissan listed at $125/day. Holy cow, when he returned it the 30 hours later, we were charged over $700.00! They added fee after fee!

    First there was a "booking less than 24 hour fee @ 10% increase", a young driver fee @ $52.50/day, a mandatory insurance fee @ $23.62/day, a "Trip Fee" @ $95.01/day! a gas reimbursement fee and a reimbursement processing fee, then charge sales tax on all of those fees too. Usually you can save money with private owners, but in this case, it was DOUBLE the cost of going with Budget Rent a Car. Owner set their own rates and charges so there is no uniformity in your charges. Get your quote with all the fees included - in writing - before you rent! BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!

    I've been renting cars for a while now and never had an issue. I thought I'd give Turo a try since their cars seem to be a little more affordable than others. Nonetheless, I put all my info and credit card information on their site and was pleased to know I was approved to rent. Should have saw the red flag at the term "approved." Anyway, after choosing the car and going to check out I was told that I could not rent a car and that they would send me an email as to why. Then I get the email and was told they would not reveal the reason. Mind you, I have no traffic violations and my driver's license is valid. Very deceptive with a discriminatory undertone if you ask me. Could not even call. Email only. Worst place I've ever attempted to rent from. I don't advise anyone rent from Turo. I won't even touch on the fees attached to the final price. Worst place ever.

    We set up a rental with a guy named Max ** in San Diego California. We called him a half hour before our scheduled arrival letting him know we were there. At this point we learned only that we were to meet at terminal 2 of the airport. That's VERY vague, but it was OK since we expected contact once he arrived. So we went and waited at a place indicating car pickups. And waited. And waited, and texted him wondering when he wasn't there. Again, and again. 30 minutes later he finally reached back via text to say an "assistant" was supposed to have reached out to us. We also learned at that point they were supposed to meet us IN the parking garage - still a very large location, but we went, looked, found no one, texted several times and called but no one reached back except to give us a location that didn't exist. Finally, after 45 minutes of looking for THEM, they cancelled our trip calling us a no-show!

    This is the problem. If they call us a no-show, we can not do a review of them. That's one problem with their product. His review is "excellent" but obviously all he has to do is cancel on US and we can't give a negative review. By the way, at this point we're in a busy airport the weekend before Thanksgiving and there are NO other rentals available anywhere. We lost a net 6 hours overall because of this and was literally 5 minutes from cancelling our entire trip - we could at least fly back home, even though it was still a large cost. Better than sleeping in the airport stranded for 3 days though.

    We will say this though. The Turo rep we called did try hard to help us. We had to find a different phone number than the default number for "escalations" or something like that, but once we had someone, they worked hard to find us another rental. And they did. And the new renter was fantastic. But by this point we were 3 hours late, had to wade through 3 hours of rush-hour traffic in California, and lost, essentially, the entire day.

    Hence why we think the product needs to mature. There needs to be impact for those who fail to meet their obligations. We have a highly rated renter who, because he's making bank, has "assistants" helping him, but if they fail - no big - all he has to do is cancel with "no show" and there's no impact on his review. Sweet deal, right? If he blames us as a no-show, we lose 1/2 of the cost! And what is our recourse? Nothing other than to call, escalate, and beg for mercy from the company. They need a better way of tracking the renter's responsibilities and not giving them 100% control over, essentially, their own ratings.

    Scam company! Beware! Rent from another company! I rented a vehicle recently for 2 days. Returned it early. Host, Muzzammi ** said nothing after I returned it and he drove off. Later that day they claim to Turo I smoked in car and I was charged $300. All they did was upload 1 picture with a couple pieces of what looked like cigarette ash in the cup holder. I have never smoked in my life! And certainly not stupid enough to do so in someone else's car. I quickly realized I was being scammed as it is so easy for these hosts to set these situations up and to get easy money!

    I called/messaged Turo numerous times and always got back the same reply. I didn't return vehicle in same condition. Which was a complete lie. I have rented cars from Turo many times and have never had an issue till now. They even kicked me off the site! They don't care! They allow these hosts to scam good customers! Company is a joke! But no worries as I have had bank reverse charges and now have my money back!

    Went to book, found a car for $45 a day. Turo said estimate $90 for two days. So spend ten minutes filling out all the needed info. Photo of myself, driver's license number, credit card number and more. Then I go to check out and they add $44 For 2 days of the most minimum insurance plus and a $69 trip fee. Total $203 for a Kia compact Two day rental And not to mention they don’t give you the address to pick up the car till after you pay. Just avoid even going to their site.

    I hated every bit of this experience with Turo. My guest returned the car after 4 days with failed battery claiming that it's normal wear and tear. She picked up the car with a full tank and returned it empty tank. The Turo customer service refused to even reimburse me for the gas refuel citing irrelevant T'/C's. They exert little responsibility as a platform between customers (host and guest). I remove my car from Turo and will NEVER use their platform again. Terrible customer service. AVOID them.

    Although the car was not as clean as we expected, communication with Albert the owner of car is great. We told him about the situation where his car has many cockroaches. As we were driving, a variety of sizes of cockroaches were appearing from the dash board, on the car seats, and floor carpet. They even flew onto our arms and legs. I have notified Albert about the situation but he did not try to do anything about it and just stated that sometimes people leave food in the car which causes the cockroaches to appear. This to me means that he does not clean the car after each rental usage if people were to leave food in there and cockroaches appear. Albert did not offer to switch cars for us or give any reimbursement. Would definitely not recommend anyone else to use Turo to rent from this person.

    Turo in Kauai provides a shuttle service from Lihue Airport to Kukui grove which takes around 15 minutes and the shuttle service leaves every 20-25 minutes.     Turo makes money out of host and provides the service to the renter. But both Turo and its driver doesn't have the integrity and responsibility to the renter. The host canceled my reservation when I was on the air without any notice. I informed the host that the flight was delayed about an hr before taking off but he wouldn't wait or come back later to pick me up and left all my family at the airport without any help. Turo company also refused to provide any help and compensate the extra double cost I had to rent the car onsite. Basically you are on your own if you are using Turo service. Just pray after booking your car.

    When trying to book a rental, the initial cost listed does NOT reflect the final price. I was able to book a vehicle 4 months in advance but when I tried to find a better deal; from another person, the prices kept on going higher and higher. I found a Prius that was cheaper but when I tried to book it, the daily rate had gone from $29,00 to $61.00 for the same car and dates. Apparently, the company has automatic programming that raises the price of the majority of cars listed once you book a vehicle.

    Fortunately, one of the agents gave me the phone number of the renter and I was finally able to contact him. I was hoping that he would help me rent one of his vehicles. Instead, he was one of the most rude people that I have ever conversed with in my 72 years. Not only did he accuse me of lying about my age, but inferred that I was some sort of troll. He ended the conversation by hanging up on me. Fortunately, I was able to rent a reasonably priced vehicle, but it was extremely stressful and took almost two hours and multiple calls. I would suggest that if you are traveling with a friend that you set up separate accounts

    so that you can search for the best price for your trip.

    My first rental experience with Turo was a good one overall in terms of value. However, the booking experience caused a great deal of stress and I would recommend having a backup traditional rental reservation. My first booking was 3 months ahead of my trip and the owner pulled the vehicle from the host's fleet a month before the trip. My second booking with another host was also pulled a week prior to my trip automatically by Turo as there was a vehicle recall. My third booking was back with the original host, but vehicle options and rates are very different from when I first booked, or even after the 1st cancellation.

    Fortunately, Turo's support was able to assist with the difference in cost for the vehicle I ended up renting. The 2019 Range Rover Sport that I rented was immaculate, but have visible exterior wear and tear, including loose trim pieces, dents, and missing letters from "Rover." The infotainment system was also last updated in 2019, which had significant issues throughout the trip. The key battery also went dead in the middle of my rental. Overall, it was still great value for the category of vehicle that I rented vs. traditional rental companies, even with the added insurance cost.

    This review would have been a 5 star except that the host did not supply a charging cable for the electric vehicle and as a result I had to return the car with not a full charge. When I picked the vehicle up he verbally told me that there was a fee of $35 if returned not fully charged, Smoking in car $250 and cleaning fee of $150 if brought back dirty. Then the fee $50 was sent to me for the charging issue. So he did not give me the ability to get charging done at our house and then I was charged more than he instructed me it would be.     I rented Turo for 2 days and the car had had odor and when I drove 1 hour, the car could only speed up to 25-30 miles mph and the noise was super loud. I didn’t feel safe driving it and I couldn’t drive it onto the highway so I parked it somewhere near. And then the host started threatening me and said that I returned the vehicle late, which I didn’t. And then they charged me another 164.3 dollars for returning it late. It cost me 330 dollars for driving a car I cannot use for 1 hour. And it ruined my trip! I also emailed with Turo for 1 month but they didn’t resolve my issue. They didn’t want to help me. They just want to charge my money. It is absolutely the lamest and most shady company I have ever encountered. I saw many other reviews on Turo too, it’s just a terrible company. Don’t ever try!

    In February 2022 I booked a vehicle for our August vacation in Montana. A week before our vacation I sent a message to the owner to make sure everything was good. He did not respond which made me nervous. When we landed in Montana, Uber took us to the address the owner provided which was a residential home. I called the owner's phone and he did not answer. I texted him, no answer. I knocked on the door, no answer. I then get a cancelation text from Turo. Awesome. I had zero internet service and our only choice was to go to the nearest rental place.

    Thankfully, they had a vehicle for our week's stay BUT it was more than triple what my Turo rental was for. Not really in the budget. Once I got to our lodging and had internet again, I reached out to Turo. They did refund the money for my reservation. But I told him I needed some kind of compensation for the extra cost of my rental car. After getting passed from person to person I finally got someone who got an additional payment approved. Cool. However, I still have not received that payment almost a month later. I email my Turo agent and he gives me the runaround. He can never really give me a good reason as to why the payment has not been processed yet.

    The latest excuse is "I am terribly sorry for the delay, our PayPal Liaison’s account has been having technical difficulties for lack of better wording, I have been told there is no ETA as of yet as PayPal’s Support has not found the root cause, but I will update you as soon as I hear they have the green light to continue reimbursements." I'm not even sure if this is a real problem or something he made up. I asked if there was a different way they could send payment but he hasn't replied although it's been three days. Stay away from Turo!!!! Pay the money and get a rental!!!!

    This is a subpar company with mediocre technology, bad customer service, and faulty systems in place. Save yourself the time and frustration. If you want a seamless, professional experience that is reliable, just pay the extra $20 and rent a real car from a reputable company. Trust me - you’ll thank me! I have a pristine driving record and travel globally on a regular basis. I have rented more cars in my life than I can count. Yet somehow Turo, which allegedly uses an excellent face recognition system, couldn’t confirm that my “selfie” (which it makes you upload) was the same face that is on my license (which it makes you take a Live Photo of). I tried a dozen times… with only error messages. The technology is slow and unreliable. And mysterious.

    When I finally got through to customer service - the live person transferred me to a chat person - who routed me to an “email only” person. Is this the Stone Age? This company has some of the most backwards customer service I’ve ever experienced. I sought to try Turo for a quick, turnkey, hassle free day rental. Just kidding… instead I spent three hours of my own time trying to navigate a broken system. And within that time, I’m still not resolved. In my book it’s unacceptable. I expect a company that houses my confidential personal information and handles peer to peer financial transactions to deliver on a quality booking experience. Turo needs to get its act together and grow into a professional company that is equipped to service its clientele properly.

    My S-class Mercedes was stolen and totaled by a Turo renter. He rented the car for three days and did not ever return it. Drove it over a curb and destroyed the wheels and motor. After three weeks of no contact, the towing company called to tell me I had one day to retrieve my car or it will be destroyed. It was already totaled. Turo insurance, after 3 months of negotiations paid 80 percent of car value. I had bought the car only a few weeks before and put all new tires and $1500 in maintenance into it.     I have been a Turo host since Dec. 2021 with All stars achievement and 4.88 review status. I recently was a guest in two back to back incidents of other host charging me a smoking fee. They allow 24 hours for someone to “provide” evidence on you. Then take all these pictures with pure lint, debris, dirt that will show in any creases of a vehicle for proof. Not even ashes. Both states, one in California the other in Illinois are states with legal marijuana laws. They are scamming people to get extra money, and it needs to be talked about. I tried to fight both charges and even after being told I would be refunded (I have screenshot) they still said no after.

    You can clearly read in my reviews what type of person I am, and that’s what is truly upsetting. Not even the fact of these fines being $256 dollars each. There is almost no way to fight back once someone lies on you and they know that. The second host that accused me was a trip literally two days after my first incident. Why would I put my self through that same trouble again. Not to mention I was with my child upon the drop off when she accused and said it “smelled like weed”. I know that this is happening to other people and it really needs to be checked into. The first host even sent me a extra set of rules after I picked the car up from him that were not in his listing or honestly I would’ve never booked in the first place. It said you could not even eat in the car and it had to be returned cleaned in same exact condition which is not something required from Turo.

    Description of Complaint: Upon returning my car, my credit card was automatically charged for $257.50 for violating the no smoking policy which I 100% did
    not. I was not even told of the acquisition prior to charging my credit card and then I received an email with subject "About your refund request (Trip **)...which at that point I was not even aware of the charge....let alone requesting a refund. In photos attached to the email, it shows a couple small pieces of fresh, not
    burnt, green cannabis plant material. There was no ash, burnt joint left behind, smoke film on window, used cigarette lighter, or anything else proving the car was actually smoked in, which I unequivocally stand by saying the host is lying and Turo substantiated the lie that I smoked in the car. Plant material does

    not prove smoking whatsover. At best, it could lead someone to suspect it.

    Turo customer support is absolutely terrible too. I emailed right away 3 times in the first day and tried to contact via the chat option, but it was not working. Finally over 72 hours later I received an email saying their decision was final and I was kicked on Turo. I am fine not being able to use Turo again - I

    absolutely will never use them again....

    However, what really frustrates me is that this is a common occurrence and they do not have the proper customer service or measures in place to prevent fraudulent claims from being made and substantiated. In my case, if one cannot have marijuana in the car, they explicitly need to list that in the terms and conditions under the no smoking policy. Additionally, they need to have a much more robust customer service response protocol to help guests out and they absolutely need to allow disputes..prior to automatically charging one's credit card. I included this entire complaint hoping that it prevents others from dealing with the same hassle and feeling like they were cheated, lied to and stolen from. Watch out for this - I have seen numerous reports on social media.

    TURO will not cover you, if your renter goes off-roading in your car. Make sure to take pictures/videos of your undercarriage before every trip. NO, TURO Is not worth this hassle. We lost an $8000 car and claim for damages, because we didn't have pictures. But we had dirt and now a total loss on our car. Arbitration was a joke, you should contact TURO to opt out on sign up.

    Doesn't matter that we have a huge physical damage to our car transfer case from a rock being hit. Doesn't matter that the mechanic believes the damage is from off-roading and we have never gone off-roading. Doesn't matter that the car worked fine before the trip and they drove it 800 miles. TURO will screw you over. So take the video/photos or don't use TURO.

    I started using Turo back when it first started. I love the experience and how easy it is. However Turo has gotten more expensive of all the fees. I don’t know what a trip fee is, that did not exist before. Also why is there a trip fee? I understand about precautions but if the vehicle is already requiring a deposit what’s the trip fee for? I just feel you all have just added these fees now because everyone got on board of Turo. If it’s going to be the same or more to rent a car from Turo than the high price rental companies then people are just going to stick to rental companies.     I rented a car. I was late to pick the car, due to a delay on the fly and the person was renting from did not have patience nor understanding.     I just recently rented and most of the cars run and drive that I've been renting. They are a bit over priced thanks to the insurance that you really should get. On newer cars you can't buy the most expensive insurance that will not take money out of your pocket. They only give that to older cars below year 2012 in my experience. Just this recent rental I booked was in Stone Mountain GA and I've been renting in this location for a bit over two months. I, like an idiot, trusted the system to make sure that it's within my location for the rental. It's said Austell and I am in Stone Mountain... Thinking that was close to Stone Mountain so I can save money on a Uber I booked it for 1K+ dollars.... and since I was just waking up I needed a car fast to go to work...

    Here we are now instead of paying 30 dollars for an Uber we paying 75 dollars for an Uber to the rental thanks to good old Turo knowing I am in Stone Mountain nowhere near Austell yet they show me car there anyway when I set my account up for that to never happen... NICE... So to anyone looking to rent go with the Newer Model cars or those that have a higher rental rate they usually are the cars that will run and drive. Also, ensure you set your location every time you login because it doesn't care to keep your settings the same...LOL

    This was my first time using Turo to rent a car. From the ease of use on the app, the selection of cars, great price, super convenience and outstanding customer service - Turo was amazing. My family was so excited when I told them that we'd be driving a new Tesla for our upcoming family vacation. To be honest, I was probably the most excited to drive the Tesla.

    Two days before our trip, I got a notification from the renter of the Tesla and informed me that he had to cancel due to a family emergency. When I got this news I was at a friend's wedding and went into a little bit of a panic mode. I immediately called Turo customer service. I was greeted by a friendly voice who calmed me down and assured me everything will be ok. And it was. He was able to locate a similar vehicle to the one that was cancelled.     We were to pick up a car upon arrival at the airport. The communication with the “host” was non-existent on the day of our travel and we got a few texts from a “co-host” whom I had never been told about. He “left” the car in the parking lot and texted a location on Apple Maps (which needs another 1-star review). The GPS coordinates were in the middle of an intersection. I was unable to reach either host! Support has unhelpful, and agreed to refund most of our money…. less $170. And I cannot even leave a review of the “host” on the Turo app. Total scam.

    My Fiancé and I rented a jeep in San Antonio Texas from a woman named Evelyn. It was a nice jeep and we knew not to smoke in the car. We took the jeep about an hour away to Don's Fish Camp where my Fiance took the roof off and we camped for the weekend. Some dirt and dust go in to the car but we knew we would clean it. We barley used the truck. It sat the whole weekend pretty much. And we never smoked in it. We were too busy camping and floating the river. When we returned it we stopped and ran trough a car wash and wiped it out the best we could as we had to catch a flight.

    My fiancé dropped his weed vape pen in the jeep and did not see it when we returned the Jeep.     I used Turo for the first time starting on 7/25/2022 with my husband. We used the car to drive my 84 year old mother around post a car accident for which she was hospitalized. We had been very happy with the rental and returned it on time with more gas than we had received on check in and ready to give high marks and be repeat customers. We were then notified that the host reported cigarette ashes in the car and we are being charged a penalty and kicked off the site. We do not smoke, we hate the smell of smoke, and we were not even around anyone who smoked over our stay.

    We were given no way to appeal this, no one to contact, and are completely flummoxed at this business model which would allow anyone to up charge by hundreds of dollars by dropping their own ashes into the car. They immediately charged us another $257 upon the false accusation. The customer is then immediately kicked off the site and given no way to appeal. I guarantee you no one smoked in that car or anywhere near that car or before or after entering that car. We are incensed at the false accusation and charge and will never use this site again. We travel very often to see family and rent cars very often. I am reporting this treatment to as many review sites as I can and to the Better Business Bureau.

    I was a 5 Star Host with more than 10 Trips in Turo. I delisted my car on 08/08 because of Turo's lack of customer service and policies. I will never use Turo in the future. Incident: A Guest who rented the car returned it with a heavy smoke smell. It was very evident that someone smoked in the car. When I reached out to Turo, they mentioned Turo needs "Physical evidence" of smoke to file a claim. As a host, I felt cheated as it is nearly impossible to show physical evidence of smoke. After carefully reviewing Turo's Terms and Conditions, I realized that Turo's policies are biased and not host-friendly. I am listing out a few of those policies for you here. Turo needs Physical Evidence of Smoke to file a smoke claim. If any damage occurs to your car, Turo wanted the host to first work with the guest to resolve it. (Means Host is primarily responsible for getting an estimate for the damage and reaching out to guests).

    There is no way to vet a guest before accepting the trip, as Turo doesn't provide any details of the guest to Hosts. In most rental companies, the minimum age to rent a car is 21, and in Turo, minors with probationary licenses can also rent the vehicle. You won't know if the guest has a probationary license unless the guest is renting your car. There is minimal support from Turo in case your guest does pay the incidentals (Tolls, Fuel Refills, etc.). There is a minimum of $250 deductible if you file an insurance claim through Turo. It is impossible to get a human customer care agent. Turo will be of least help if your vehicle is stolen during its rented (Either by the guest or by someone else). Please stay away from them. Turo is there to make money for them, and it can be a nightmare if anything goes wrong with the rental.

    We had avoidable confusion finding the pick up location of the car due to fundamental errors in the directions. We were advised that the car was located in long-term parking and that there was a shuttle that would take us to that location. However, there were no signs at all in the terminal that directed us to “long term parking”. There were signs directing us to the shuttles for off airport parking but that would have been a mistake. We were finally directed to the air train which is not a shuttle that would take us to the long-term parking.

    Finally, long-term parking consisted of two separate buildings, one with the letters A - M and the other N - Z. Our car was located in spot 2-C and we searched the entire second floor and there was no “C”. As it turns out it was in the other building. Again, unnecessarily confusing. Traevon was extremely helpful in resolving our confusion and the car was great but we spent at least a half hour additional time just finding the car. Would highly suggest that the directions for pickup at the airport be modified.

    I rented a minivan on Turo for a week and it was a nightmare experience. The car was 4-5 years old with a couple of minor scratches and dings but nothing terrible. The car ran fine. No complaints. Before returning the car I made sure to get the car washed and interior cleaned. When I brought it back within 45 minutes I get a message saying there are scratches all over the car and I need to pay him money. I told him there weren't any scratches on the car, so he posts pictures of one scratch on the bottom of the car (as in you would need to crawl under the car to see the scratch) and a couple light scratches you could only see if you knew where they were beforehand. I tell Turo this and they simply go ahead and charge me without any discussion or investigation into the claims. So now I'm out $500 and have no recourse. I know other people have had good experiences I just won't be taking my chance with a shady business like this again.

    I thought the host we dealt with was horrible but it turns out that the customer service at Turo is just as horrific. You cannot get anyone on the phone. If you're lucky enough to they don't really care about your concern or complaint. Turo does not treat the paying customer with any respect. Turo forgot that the paying customer is the one who they need to keep using their service. Apparently, they don't mind losing a few, just so you owners and upper management understand we will never, never, never use turo again nor will we endorse you to friends or family so they can be scammed.

    They are almost worst the con-artist host who file fraudulent claims to make extra money off unsuspecting customers. You should be ashamed of yourselves turo. I hope the owner actually reads some of these post and understand that some your customers are having horrific experiences. There has to be an organization that will investigate customer complaints and do something about it. Turo is allowing fraud and very unethical behavior to continue. Turo your platform is the tool and the con artist and scammers are working you but worse, they are hurting the public who trust your service. Usually, owners don't stand up and take notice until the legal suits start. I guess we will have to wait until a commercial comes on asking if anyone has been taken advantage of by a turo host.     Our rental car got broke in the middle of nowhere, Turo just abandoned us for 48 hours and still no tow truck. Finally we call private tow truck at our own expense. We spent 1000$ on hotel and 600$ on tow truck. Turo did not pay us single penny and did not waive any car rental charges. Moreover the hotel room at my destination cost me another 1500$ due to no show. Their customer representative has no authority and they have no escalation team. My 4 day vacation ended just on 2nd day and we came back home at the mercy of my friend. FYI I had 2 infants travelling with me. Still they don't care. We were abandoned in the middle of nowhere.

    In dealing with this his company I felt lied to. I had to put money down to be able to talk to the host. At the last minute I wanted to see if I could work things out to change the date of my trip. My first host was not very cooperative about making the changes and told me to contact the company itself. I did.? When I got around to trying to work things out with Turo, they told me the car had supposedly been «unlisted ». This was after a few attempts to reach the company and the host. I think there was something strange going in there, but dismissed it. I then finally proceeded to rent from a different host. They are now attempting to place charges on my credit card I did not consent to for this second host. Furthermore when I tried to talk hints out with the host he was very rude and told me he would see to it I never touch his cars again to my face. Don’t ever rent from them.

    I used Turo for the first time last week, and the owner gave me a car that had been in a bad accident and had an engine failure. The car broke down in the middle of the road. It took 10 hours to reach an agreement with Turo. They promise to pay us a portion for the money we have lost. However, they did not fulfill their promise; I sent at least six emails, and they did not even respond. After not responding to my email for several days, I received an email from them today in which they informed me that I still owed them gas money and that they would continue to urge me to pay the fee. They threaten to blacklist me in the email if I do not pay. Turo uses vehicles with major engine failure, demonstrating a disregard for the safety of their customers. Furthermore, their silence demonstrated their refusal to accept responsibility. Be careful using this company!

    ***DO NOT DO IT, USE A REPUTABLE COMPANY*** If I could leave no stars I would. Initially the trip was going great! Pickup was easy and the car was right where it was stated. We drove the car for 24hrs of a 8 day rental when it went all downhill. First the air went out. In Orlando it was 98 degrees and I have a 2 month old and a 2 year old. We contacted the host, but before we could get to our location the car broke down in the middle of the street at a stop sign. We had to empty the car and walk to the nearest locations because it was so hot. The host offered to trade cars, but I picked a VAN with bucket seat because I have two car seats and 4 adults. The car he offer would not have worked so I declined it. Plus we were on the side of the road and I didn't trust any of his vehicles. He then directed me to deal directly with Turo.

    When I'm thinking the situation could not get any worse....it continued to go down hill. I was on the phone a total of 2.5 hrs trying to get roadside assistance. I received an text after about an hr stating they would arrive in 30mins. An hour late I was still on the phone and still waiting on a tow. Per Turo there was nothing they would do with my claim until the car was picked up by the tow truck. That is HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The text message also states "please note, riding with the tow truck may not be possible. Please arrange transportation if needed." Mind you I'm out of town, on vacation, with two small kids and now I've got to find a ride and we are 20mins away from our Airbnb. After 2 hours we finally got a ride, and guess what....still no tow. About 15mins after we left the tow guy calls stating he can't find the car and the location he was given had been changed, so he was at the wrong location.

    I SPOKE WITH THE TOW GUY OVER AN HOUR AGO AN HE VERBALIZED THE CORRECT ADDRESS AS TO WHERE THE CAR WAS. So that was a lie. I sent the address again myself, and a screen shot on the map stating exactly where the car was. Then about an hr later I receive a call from the tow stating the owner of the van was there with his tow truck and so were the police. Now I've been fighting with Turo to help me for 3 hours now and the only thing I'm told is "The car has to be towed before they will help do anything!" So I'm on the phone another 30min pleading with the police to allow the tow, the company sent, to pick up the car so my CLAIM CAN BE PROCESSED, but because the owner showed up with the paperwork stating he's the owner, they allowed him to take the car. I was advised by the host that I have to go though Turo, so I don't understand why he didn't go through Turo as well!!!!

    I call Turo again and was on the phone another hour to be told that the department that can process my refund has no direct contact and I would be receiving an email. Mind you I was told this initially I would be receiving this same email and at 9am the next morning, still no email! So now we are stranded. I have paid over $700 for park tickets, that we are schedule to use TODAY and I still can get in touch with anyone at Turo. DON'T DO IT!! This was my 1st time doing this and I will NEVER do this again!!!! A lot of money has been wasted and no resolve. I was able to cancel my trip and hopefully will get the rest of my money, but I HAVE NO CAR! And with all we went through yesterday, I'm due a full refund! This company has ZERO customer service. As long as you have no issues, it might be great, but if you need help, customer service is TRASH. I'm on vacation stranded and I still have not had any feedback and it's the next day.

    I was told I would be charged $511 for 2 days. I was charged $883.05; an additional $371.09. I picked up the car late and returned it around the same time. They claimed I was 2 hours late and charged me $288.23. The owner claimed no one was renting it for 2 days, so it wasn't a problem. The place of pick up did not have a gas station nearby.     My vehicle was deemed a total loss/wrecked car for the last 4 months. The TURO insurance did not honor their collision policy. A TURO guest wrecked my car and I have still been paying the car note for it (trying not to ruin my credit because of this). I am sure the TURO app is lucrative for sports cars but if a TURO guest wrecks your car and the TURO insurance does not pay, then you are STUCK paying a note for a wrecked vehicle.     It has me completely baffled that they get a claim about a dent with pictures you cannot even see a dent in. Then sent the vehicle to their mechanics and next thing you know they sending me a bill for over 600 dollars with a statement saying they charge for sheet metal, paint and materials when even a YouTube mechanic would be able to see the estimate is straight fictitious.

    No dent small enough to not even be seen in a picture could possibly take 3 days and all the material they supposedly used then when I called customer care all they could tell me is there was nothing they could do and as a frequent customer I am highly disappointed with the treatment I have received. Truly lost a good customer. I will be returning to Enterprise who I have did business with for over five years and never had any problems with.     This is our experience: Our first vacation since Covid with a planned agenda of visiting our 97 year old aunt in Long Beach for 5 days and then going on a sightseeing trip to Death Valley. We rented a Fiat 500. The car (which we only used for about 150 miles) started displaying an airbag failure warning on day 5, so we alerted Turo and they arranged a backup car for us so we could continue on to Death Valley. Figuring out the logistics took more than two hours of phone conversations and waiting on hold that day.

    The second car, also a Fiat 500 - provided by a different host - broke down on us on the first day in Death Valley. Luckily we had pulled over at one of the resorts that also had a adjacent car repair shop. After running several tests the mechanic determined that we were dealing with a failed battery and that it could not be recharged, so anytime we made a stop and turned off the car, we would not be able to start it again.

    After another two hours on the phone with Turo and finally being taken care of by one of their supervisors, we found out that Turo could tow the car and set us up with another backup car provided by a local host (near Death Valley and probably from Pahrump, NV). However, per Turo rules, the car can only be dropped off at the same location as it was picked up. Regarding my question how we would get back to Los Angeles, since we had to drop off the car again in the Death Valley region, the supervisor had no solution. He said Turo provides a maximum of $60 worth of Uber vouchers, but there would be no other way to get us back to LA using a Turo car. The supervisor admitted to the dilemma and gave us permission to have the car checked and fixed so we could get back.

    The Death Valley mechanic could not replace the battery since he had none in stock and Turo roadside assistance were not willing to deliver a battery to our location. They only tow or jump start cars. At this point we had spoken with two separate supervisors who both were extremely sorry for the inconveniences we suffered and agreed that our options were limited and that this was not ok. Though neither could help us in this case.

    So we had our car jump-started and drove ourselves all the way to Pahrump, Nevada through Death Valley with a failed battery. A 112 mile round trip. We contacted the host and let her know that her battery failed and informed her about all the details involved since we were under the impression Turo and their hosts are one and the same company (more about that at the end of the review).

    We spent $225.95 on a brand new battery. We have not been reimbursed to this day. When we arrived back to Seattle from our trip we found a charge on our account for $19 for going over the allotted mileage. A) We had to drive an extra 112 miles to get to the closest place that had a battery replacement and B) we booked a car for 10 days at 200 miles per day. With receiving a backup car the mileage started over, so for the 4 days on the backup car we lost over 1000 miles of the overall booked 2000 total since we only used the first car for about 150 miles. Eventually this charge was refunded. However at the cost of us spending at least another two hours on the phone with agents and on hold to have it resolved.

    We also found that our host had sent us a very unkind message on the Turo site that she had to spend $80 to have her car checked since we reported the battery and brake issues. She claimed that the brakes were brand new and that was the reason why they made creaky sounds and rattled the car when you pushed them. Note: We never met the host herself since one of her friends dropped off/picked up the car. The host also left a slanderous review on my Turo account accusing me of "hitting my own children behind the corner" (? I don't have children btw.) and that I allegedly tampered with her headlight. The right headlight did not work when we returned the car. We pointed this out to the person who picked up the car (who wasn't the host).

    Since we never drove the car at night (and only drove in the dusk one time) we did not notice. The light might have been out from the very beginning. My responses to her were always very civil and polite. What set her off was the fact that Turo required her to have her car checked (which cost her money). She fabricated several other points in her review and we will now have to have Turo remove it. We have all this in the messages on our Turo site. If a Turo agent took the time to read through the messages (that was our only form of communication with her) and the hosts review they will see the false statements that were made.

    We were promised a refund via a voicemail by one of the supervisors right after we returned on May 17th (we have it on file still). After nothing happened for a week I contacted Turo again and they then promised the refund within 24 hours in writing on May 24th. Nothing. In the meantime I had to travel to Europe for three weeks and did not have time to deal with Turo from over there. When I got back I made three more attempts to be reimbursed, two times I was told again that the refund would be there within 24 hours and the last time, just a couple of days ago, the Turo agent told me that the Executive team "still had not made a decision on the refund". In the meantime Turo first billed the first host for the battery that we bought for the car of our second host.

    I contacted Turo to make them aware of their mistake after our first host was stuck on the phone with them for over an hour to try and resolve that it was not his car that needed a battery replacement. Turo then posted on my account page that they would be charge ME for the $225.95. We got charged for the battery that we had paid for out of pocket (mind boggling!). We had to put our credit card on hold so the charge would not go through. Yesterday we contacted a lawyer for guidance. And today I am starting to submit our experience to review sites and the social media. We will also be reporting this to the California Attorney General office. I have no more patience.

    Here are the key points: Turo sent us out in car with a failed battery and brake issues. We do not believe that the issues came from the brakes being brand new. This could have ended up potentially very dangerous for us since we had to cross Death Valley in a compromised car (and yes, Death Valley is one of Turo's advertised destinations in the region, see the official site).

    Turo's regulations do not allow to drop off a car in a different location than where it was picked up. If you drive a distance away from your pickup location and anything happens to the Turo vehicle you rented, Turo can provide you with a backup vehicle, but you will need to drop it off where you picked it up. Turo does not have a solution on how to get you back to your starting point.

    It does not appear that Turo reliably knows the condition of the cars provided by their hosts. The car we rented had an old reconditioned battery in it (as confirmed by the host in writing) that failed us. We spent 15 hours total on the phone with Turo since. This is the combined time of speaking/texting with agents and being on hold. We have copies of our phone records and all the Chat emails and screenshots.

    The Turo agents all were trying to be very helpful, I have to give them big points for that. But they could not help us because of the abovementioned Turo regulations and because the executive billing team was unresponsive. I asked to speak with an agent over the phone a few days ago, but Turo has changed their contact options. You cannot talk with an agent over the phone directly anymore.

    It is beyond frustrating to have a company just not respond when it comes to an owed and promised reimbursement. I also do not believe it is safe to drive Turo provided vehicles. I am sure there are many good, responsible hosts out there (like our first host) that take care of their cars and care about their guests, but the fact that we were sent out with a potentially dangerous vehicle leads to the assumption that there may be many more cars in their fleet out there that have not been appropriately checked for road worthiness. I would also urge Turo to check the remaining fleet of cars our host has with them. She claims to have 13 cars total working for Turo. And if a Turo representative reads this, the reservation number associated with this review is **. You will see that all that I stated here is correct and has been reported to Turo several times.

    It looks like a great option for renting a car BUT, I had to give credit card info to get rental price, the next day I had fraudulent charges on my card and had to cancel it. The rate was not very good for the car I choose a Hyundai, so I did not go through with the rental. It showed a $0 charge, but my card was used for several fraudulent attempts the next day. Beware!!!

    On this last trip I received an email from Turo that stated the car owner had filed a claim. My issues with Turo's process are as follows:

    1. I was unable to see what claim was filed.

    2. I was unable to respond to the claim. My only option was 'filing a claim' on the website.

    Recommendations:

    1. A claim should be visible to both parties.

    2. I should be able to respond to the other party's claim without filing a new damage claim.

    I wanted to share a nightmare of a story for those of you going on vacation and considering using Turo to rent a car. Currently here in Maui and rented a car from this group which is basically renting their own personal vehicles. Usually half the price of a national rental company. Once you download the app all communication is done through the app with the owner of the car.

    When setting up the rental I accidentally put a 10am arrival instead of 11:30 which was the correct time. You have to send a pic of you with your DL and then they send you directions on where to pic up the car and then there is a lockbox to get the keys. I sent my pics along the explanation that I made a mistake on booking time and gave “Sean” the real time of 11:30 and never received a response. I did receive 9 emails saying your trip is around the corner see you at 10 which proves my response was never acknowledged.

    Thursday is trip day and still no response to new time or lockbox code. I sent 2 emails before we left ABQ and 1 when we were on our layover and never got a response until we landed. Funny thing is if plane was late and you can’t communicate they just cancel after 30 minutes of not being there and take a 1/3 of the rental price.

    My reservation was cancelled because we didn’t get there by 10.”Sean” never responded to that email until he cancelled on us for being late, kept a third of the cost because of their cancellation policy and that same car rented for twice as much. TURO is a complete rip off and will cancel you to rent to someone who will pay more for the themselves. If you are going to a place like Maui the highest price will get the business and you will be left with 33% left and no car. Don’t even let me get started on their customer service!

    I love the idea of this but it ended up putting me in a huge fight with the company and the owner of the car. The owner of the car ran a little scam on us and tried to add extra charges after the trip was over. Turo stands by their car owners far more than their customers so they forced me to pay extra at the end. There is a very good chance the final price won't be what you expect because of unethical tactics and how Turo decides to turn a blind eye to it all. Best to just stay away.

    Our first expo with Turo. Great car and a smooth exchange of the vehicle. After returning the vehicle our Host sent us a message and thanked us for returning the vehicle in great shape. Same day we were charged $258 for smoking in the vehicle. I logged in to the Turo site only to realize they deleted from their site moments after charging my debit card. No opportunity to discuss the situation.

    We were charged for smoking in the vehicle. No one ever smoked in the vehicle, I don’t smoke in my own vehicle or house for the matter. Instead of littering cigarette butts we put them in a water bottle for proper disposal. The car was washed and tank filled however we forgot to throw that sealed bottle out and without discussion, charged for smoking. It’s a shame. A darn shame. I never had the opportunity to speak to anyone. The hassle to dispute this would be miserable so we of course were raked over the coals for something we never did! DO NOT rent from Turo. Friends have had a similar experience.

    Don't try to reserve sport or deluxe cars. Owners don't care about you. I've been canceled the first time 24 hour before my airport arrival. Try again for another trip, again canceled few days before arriving. Last one was canceled by Turo as the owner cancel his agreement with Turo. Got a little little discount from Turo but read here you can't apply it and will never cover all my wasted time on line, on the phone then renting at a rental car. Not to mention something extremely important, Turo takes up to 10 days to reverse the charges!!!! Which is the full amount of the reservation. The first time got 2 reservation canceled and 2 charges blocked on my credit card!!!

    My experience with Turo has been nothing short of terrible, so bad that we were not able to book a car at all. We booked a car for our wedding 2 months in advance only to find out a week before that the car wasn't booked because of an application issue. We then went through the verification process, were "approved" to book cars, booked a car multiple times for it to be cancelled by the application minutes later. After spending hours on their chat, the issue was supposedly resolved but then apparently re-appeared for some unknown reason.

    The best part is, the app automatically cancels your booking without telling you why, so you need to repeat the process to a new chat agent every single time - super efficient. Then had to go through the verification process AGAIN - even their agents said they don't understand why. Long story short, will never be using this platform again nor recommending it to anyone. Still don't have a car for our wedding, as they didn't seem to care to help us resolve this asap. Lessons learned.

    I rented my first Turo Two two days ago. I got a good price, the car was in good shape and the hand over went smoothly. The car functioned very well and got great gas mileage on the 5 hour drive to my parents' house. Then the next day the car would not start. OK, things happen. But have now spent nearly 24 hours being transferred from person, to BOT to person trying to sort this out. Still no solution. All the while, my holiday time expires.
