This was my first time using Turo and was very happy with our entire experience. When we arrived at Mesa Gateway Airport, I had received a text from our provider showing photos of the car and where it was parked. We grabbed our bags and walked less than 50 yards into the parking lot to retrieve our car. I will certainly use Turo again! No more long lines taking 2 hours to try and rent a car at the airport. Thanks, Turo!

Car and agent all 5 stars. If you are trying to add a second driver forget it. 10+ hours on their website and phone. Total disaster. Never was able to add second driver. Notwithstanding multiple efforts and phone calls. Never was able to add driver's license number and address and they are incapable of taking info over the phone. If you want to add a second driver go with anyone other than TURO. Their process is broken.

Eric was great..car was super clean and roomy.. We had family in town and I drive a mini.. This car was wonderful for what we needed. Very luxurious feeling. We would definitely use Turo again and definitely this car.. The owner Eric was very nice also.

We had only used official car rentals in the past. This was our first Turo rental and it could not have been better. The process was super easy and worked perfectly! Our car was dropped off at the Lodge where we were staying and we returned it to the same location.

I had a great first experience. I needed an all-wheel drive vehicle for the snow, which the big rental companies couldn’t guarantee. A friend recommended Turo. From start to finish my expectations were met; the app is great as it’s easy to use. Seeing the cars and the descriptions was helpful, as were the reviews. The vehicle was great, very safe as described. Pickup and drop off was seamless and very easy as well. I may not go back to the big rental companies!

We arrived at the appointed time and found clean well maintained vehicle, just as one would expect from a commercial car rental company. Now, since it is not the aforementioned rental company, one has to be more precise on time and this can be a challenge if the airline has hiccups. It did not affect us, but I wonder, had we been several hours late, what heartburn would ensue?

Rented a Porsche Macan S to road tripping towards a ski resort. I drove from El Paso, TX to Santa Fe, NM and back. Process of car pick up and drop off was easy. The host was very supportive and answered any texts I had about using features of the car. Turo experience went very smoothly.

Pleasant host, clear car, safe place for pick up and drop off. The host replies promptly. This car is well kept. I have added this car to my favorites. The price is fair and reasonable. I have looked and this is the only 2023 Qx55. Good on gas. I could not have asked for a better car. This was absolutely perfect.

My car was delivered to my house on time, full of gas and spotless. The drive was excellent and the car performed perfectly. On return, they picked it back up and were on time again. I would use them again, and would highly recommend them.

I notice that once I parked the car in the garage it leaked transmission oil. Also the windshield wipers were smearing water as opposed to cleaning the rain water. Turo signs are not highly visible at the airport. I drove around several times trying to find the turo area. Also the host did not text or communicate the pass code until 3:28 the day I was scheduled to pick up the car.

What a great experience over the traditional car rental agencies. Normally you would reserve a car online. Once at the airport to pick up your car, it's never the car you approved and paid for and it's usually a couple hours. With Turo, the online application process was 5 minutes. Once at the airport, follow the location sent to your phone to locate your car. What an awesome experience and great value. I finally got exactly what I paid for.

What an easy and inexpensive way to get a very nice car. No hassle, no problems, easy in and easy out. Hardest part was figuring out how to rate my car owner. And he deserved a huge thanks. I will definitely be using Turo for all my future car rentals and have recommended it to anyone who should ask or even listen. Was even able to extend an extra day with no hassle.

I should have listened to all the negative reviews but I thought I would try it anyway. Big mistake!!! I rented my car out to a girl and she seemed dipsy. She dropped her license on the ground near my home and couldn't find it. The way she acted, I was suspicious that she was high on drugs but couldn't prove it so I rented it to her. I have a Tesla and specifically told her that it can not go under 25% charge, it's not good for the batteries. She ran it all the way down to 5% and I sent her several messages to charge the car. I was so pissed that since my car has GPS tracking, my wife and I went after her and blocked her in, in front of a apt. building and ordered her out and left her stranded.
I just made it to a charge station with 2% left on battery. If I wouldn't have did what I did, she would have let the battery die, would have been stuck somewhere and I would have had to get a tow to the station. Having all the documented information, starting battery which was 100% and ending at 5% when I kicked her out, even time-stamped with date and time, Turo wouldn't do anything about it. They basically still sided with her and gave everything to her for FREE for the inconvenience. Are you kidding me!!! I was the one inconvenienced.
I also found powdered stuff in my cup holders which I suspect was some sort of drug or drugs but again can't prove it and because I'm subjected to drug screening with my job, I couldn't take the chance touching that so I ended up having my car professionally detailed out of my pocket. She basically racked 300 miles on my car in one day and I ended up in the negative, no pay for her trip, and wear and tear on my car. Their reasoning was that she booked for 24 hrs and I had no right taking the car which is a catch 22 because I've read several other reviews where a guest ran their car battery dead or out of gas and the host still got stuck paying for everything so either way, I was screwed. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Our first experience using Turo couldn’t have been better. Choosing the vehicle was easy. We trusted the reviews, and the provider lived up to our high expectations. Communication was easy and efficient. The vehicle was easy to locate and in excellent condition. Both the check-in and check-out instructions were easy to follow, the photos protect the vehicle owner as well as the renter. As a bonus the vehicle selection and price were better than the traditional car rental companies, and there was no waiting in line and no pushy agent trying to upsell services. I will definitely use Turo again!

We needed a 10 passengers van for our family vacation in Phoenix/Peoria, AZ. Our host sent texts to help me find the van at airport parking, how to get in and out of the airport and was available during the trip if I had questions (I only had 1 question). We were allowed enough miles to get everything done we wanted to do. We had a great time!

Great platform and is very easy to work however the trip fee costs more than the car daily. I feel there could be better rates for long term customers like me, why would it cost more to keep it longer than it would to just pay my renter directly.

David was a terrific host - flexible and nice - and Hyundai Tucson was perfect for our needs. We went up to the mountains and had no worries about the icy roads with this car. It was comfortable and really fun to drive.

After waiting in line for over an hour for a car rental and the line not moving, I just look at this app and schedule a car. It was very easy and Dominique was wonderful. I would definitely recommend Turo and especially Dominique when traveling to Kauai!

This was my first time renting with Turo, and it was a great experience. The cost was less than a regular rental car, and I was able to pick up/drop off the car only one walkable block away from the airport at no charge and without a security deposit. The car was in great condition and even had a sunroof, which was a fun bonus. The owner was very responsive to questions and communicated all of the pertinent information I needed in a timely manner. Thanks for a great experience! I will definitely consider doing this again.

We had the car for over a week and it was great. Gas mileage on the 2022 Lincoln Corsair was beyond what was expected. It had a great ride and the end result of our dealing with TURO was good. It was a first time but most likely NOT a last time.

When I needed a vehicle and was unable to get a sniff from Avis, Hertz or Enterprise due to the Gem Show in Tucson, I went to look into Turo on the advice of a friend. First of all, Turo had many many vehicles available to rent, so they solved my Gem Show dilemma. The app would not let me request a time earlier than 24 hours as a 24 our notice is required to rent. I needed the vehicle several hours earlier than the app would allow, so again, on my friend's advice I reached out to the host named Lynn. He responded immediately and from the get-go was willing to work with me to accommodate my travel times. He adjusted the available times and I was then able to book as I desired.
The vehicle, was in fantastic mechanical and physical shape (not a single issue) and it was topped off with fuel and immaculately clean when the keys were handed over to me. Returning the vehicle was a breeze. Again, Lynn the host was proactive in his communication. He was not going to be present when I returned the vehicle. I was able to return it as requested. With my Turo virginity now a thing of the past, I see no way that I'll head to another corporate rental office such as Avis, Hertz or Enterprise. The price gouging and lack of available vehicles is disgusting, happens every year and I'm done. I got a fantastic price on my rental (a price the big 3 could not even come close to). Turo has a lot of amazing vehicles, and I look forward to renting many of them when the need arises. I give my Turo experience 5 stars!

I have had a Turo account since 2017. I reside in south Florida but I've used Turo on my travels. I have noticed within the last year that hosts have started to request false claims in the south Florida area. I'm not sure if this is a nationwide problem but I have noticed the pattern in some of my bookings here. January 14th 2023 I booked a Cadillac 2020 for two days from the host Vladimir Lev. I took pictures at the beginning of the booking and before the return. I left this vehicle spotless. I do not smoke at all and the host provided photos of an interior that did not even match the same interior of the vehicle I rented. The host provided the photos to me in my inbox.
I informed Turo and they charged me a smoking fee suspended my account. When checking the better business bureau website I noticed the same issue has been occurring with other customers. A few months before being suspended I had a host on the platform request a ticket claim from a ticket that was over a year prior to me even renting the vehicle. luckily Turo overturned the decision at that time. Hosts seem to be looking to make more money at the customer's expense. It is very interesting that I've had the account for approximately 5 years and never been accused of smoking. I rented this vehicle for two days and barely drove the vehicle and Turo seems to believe this host and also would suspend me for false accusations.

BUYER Beware! Had the most horrible experience w/ Turo.com. Host was informed upon booking that we were located 2 hours away. Made arrangements to pick up the car at the airport closest to us -- which is Kona. BUT in spite the text messages saying we were closer to KONA Airport and if that can be our pickup point - the text said, "no problem" BUT they still delivered the car to Hilo Airport. AND INSISTED IT WAS MY FAULT. After talking to customer service - I was told this was a very common problem. I'm out $130 in cab fares. I DON'T RECOMMEND TURO.COM at all. Hosts needs to be educated and go to a training class on communication 101. Just booked a Uhaul Pick-up Truck for $19.99 a day, so much cheaper and w/ more transparency.

Renting a car was absolutely easy. I literally just went through my app, found something that I was interested in and looked to see if was close to me. The owner made the exchange very quick and simple. She had really good communication with me and I felt reassured about using the car that I had selected. I used it for several days, took care of it, like it was my own, and returned it in the exact spot that I found it. This was much less complicated than renting from one of those national car rental brands that you find at airports. The cost was a third of what I looked at for other car rental agencies. I will definitely be using Turo again in the future. I never knew that this is part of my traveling could be so easy. In short, it was seamless and simple from start to finish.

Dollar Rent a car took my reservation and money but then denied me a car or a refund when I got to my destination. I was desperate, in a strange town where I knew no one, with my son's graduation the next day. It was so easy to rent a car through Turo. They were honest and upfront about their fees. I had a selection of several cars and prices. The car I selected was in great condition and performed well my entire trip. Picking up and dropping off were simple. I'll never rent from a big agency again.

I was in a major bind stranded 8 hours away from home and couldn’t find a rental to be of service. I was skeptical of Turo but had nothing to lose. I had a couple bumps trying to get verified and the support on chat cleared that right up with so much helpfulness. I booked a trip and immediately the host cancelled on me not wanting to come to my location. I was deflated and desperate so I called support and without hesitation the customer service representative went to work booking another trip for me immediately. I was finally in a car that was suitable and really nice. And even made a new friend in the host. I couldn’t be more pleased with Turo.

Please bear with me, Turo has the absolute worst customer service. I have been dealing with them now for 3 straight days. I had an issue with a dead battery that took 3 days to resolve, then leaving the shop after being towed the motor blew. As of now I am on my 7th call to CS, have been disconnected 6 times trying to resolve this. I have spent 1400 dollars on the rental and am only wanting to have said money transferred to a new vehicle. They are absolutely not allowing me to do that. They want me to spend another exorbitant amount of money on a new rental without even a reimbursement. I am beyond pissed. The CS I can only assume has their collective hands tied and are following a script. So here I sit waiting for someone to answer call 7. Do not use this app or service. Do not be fooled by the "5" star reviews. Always pay attention to the negative.

We were introduced to the Turo app by friends that use it all the time. Thought we would use it on a recent trip to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Had a great experience. The price was $121 less than Budget Car rental and we got a better car. Angela, the owner kept in touch and was excellent. Will definitely use Turo again.

One of hosts forgot about having to let me in to his vehicle so I was stuck at the airport for an hour waiting for him to unlock the door. Another host was a no show. I went to the address he provided and waited at a house and he never showed up. I was stuck in an unfamiliar neighborhood and needed the car for my entire trip. Thankfully I was able to get a Lyft to go to a parking garage 30 minutes away and get another vehicle. The worst part is when I later found out that Turo fines hosts for being no-shows and keeps them as hosts. Turo will not compensate the customer for hours lost and the stress of stranded, instead they keep money for themselves and allow the cycle to continue.

The Turo app is easy to use. I was given a variety of vehicles to choose from and was easily able to choose one that best fit our transportation needs and our budget. The renter was a great communicator and very nice, and the car was clean and ran very well. When I needed to adjust our plans, that was easy too. The app made the whole process a breeze.

Turo was a great option for us when renting a car in Hawaii. Traditional car rental agencies had expensive, newer cars. Turo had a wider variety of well-maintained personal vehicles that we were lower cost and a much better fit for our needs!

Firstly, the car I rented was 14,000 miles past due for service… the check engine light was on the whole time I had it. Then when I went to drop it off, as this was my first time renting, I took the owner's instructions of just leaving the keys in it and texting him to remotely lock the car and walk away… about an hour after my checkout time, I get a notification from the Turo app to checkout, I do, and am prompted to take pictures. I wish I had known prior because SEVEN HOURS after I had dropped the car off the driver informed me that there was damage to the car.
Given the previously mentioned neglect of the car, I have reason to believe he caused the damage or it was pre-existing, as I never hit anything but do not have pictures to prove it because I was prompted to take pictures of the car while I was already in the airport and it was too late. Now the guy has $430 of mine that he claims is for the repairs to the car for the damage I didn’t cause. This has left a TERRIBLE taste in my mouth as far as Turo, especially with this being my first time using your company.

Great vehicle. Very nice. Just like new. Easy pick-up and delivery. Great communication. I would rent from these folks again. They also can provide beach chairs - coolers and beach towels. Very user friendly. It was nice to drive a new Gladiator as I have been thinking about buying one myself.

Luis was the perfect host throughout the rental period. His instructions were accurate and easy to follow. Even when a lockbox malfunctioned at 3 am, Luis came up with an alternate plan so I could make my flight. He was always timely and gracious.

The vehicle was delivered to me promptly on time and was very clean. The owner communicated with me the entire time throughout the process which helped since it was my first time using Turo. My trip had to be modified a couple times and the owner worked with me on it and made it easygoing.

Great car. Great communication. Did a little getaway before we rent this car for week in April. Easy pick up and drop off. Had a small issue but was taken care quickly and explained to us and offered another car but was ok with chipped (small) in windshield. Highly recommended.

I loved everything about this app. The person car that I rented was nice and clean and he was available for me whenever I needed him. My only problem with the app is the young driver fee. I’ve been driving since I was 15 and I’m 23 now and someone who just got their licenses that’s 25 can drive. I feel like instead of having a young driver fee it should be a new driver fee because that’s the only problem I have with renting car from other places.

We were absolutely fortunate with our first experience. Our host, Steve, knew all the details of what needed to be done and when and walked me thru every step. Turo has very detailed instructions on what to do and when to do it to protect all involved parties. There are plenty of opportunities for additional fees and I'm thinking that's with any insurance/ car rental company. As car rentals go, this is easily our best experience ever. We drove in winter conditions... tires and brakes in excellent condition. Everything from start to finish was A plus!

The host could not have been more accommodating, On time, vehicle was spotless, fully fueled, and as described. It was great at first. The host communicated and blah blah but after my trip I had got all of these other fees, I guess he had to put $8.40 worth of gas back in the car after receiving the car, $8 but mind you I have yet to report how he turned the car in to me, so let’s start off with the outside. It was very filthy. I started driving and couldn’t see out of the side mirrors. It was ridiculous, he told me the gadgets in the car but not how to use them. It was very unpleasant. After my trip ended I thought I would’ve done business again but I’d rethink that. Not once did he mention the damage so with that being there before I got the car he would’ve blamed that on me because he quote unquote forgot it was there so ya no.

I was charged over 1,200 dollars for a trip that the host told me would be 600 dollars. I have it in writing from the host. We spoke with the host before booking this trip. This was to make sure of the mileage before booking the vehicle. We told him it would be over 700 miles each direction. The host said that wasn’t a problem because we were allowed 750 miles per day. I have this in writing from the host.
Now he is saying I owe him an additional 600 dollars because I’m only allowed 150 miles per day. We were texting the host before booking because we had never used Turo before. This is when he said if we rent it, it is 750 miles per day. Now he is saying he didn’t have his contacts in while texting and it is 750 miles total. I’m trying to work with Turo but I keep getting told to use the app to dispute it. No help from Turo at all. I will never use or recommend Turo to anyone.

Turo did not do their due diligence to ensure the host followed the rules. The host (Damien) was supposed to file a report to request payment for the tolls but never did. He then forgot to pay the tolls and incurred late fees. At that point, he notified Turo. Instead of first investigating with us, Turo automatically charged my card $800 without informing me beforehand. Even though we reminded Turo of their policy, they did not reimburse us. My advice is to stay away from Turo.

Turo has the most amazing app to access vehicles and host all over the world with ease, test drive future purchases of similar vehicles at a fraction of the cost of a car rental place. Arriving at LAX it appears that it is impossible to pick up a Turo car. I had to take an Uber to pick up my car and even though it was only a couple of miles away it cost $31 to get there. This wiped out my savings as compared to a traditional car rental. Construction everywhere contributed to the time and cost of the Uber. The Turo provider did take me back to airport.

I have now rented four cars from Turo in Miami FL as of late 2022/early 2023, and I have found the rates to be ridiculously high. It seems a classic case of using current demand to rip people off. The cars cost as much if not more than new cars from top tier rental car companies, yet they are older and in two cases I had mechanical issues, including one where the car broke down and became un-driveable. Turo assured me this is not a usual occurrence, but from what I can tell they are charging lessors very high fees to list cars, which has led to a lower quality of product. The only way they can improve the situation is to stop ripping people off, lower their fees to lessors, and set lower price limits for lessees.

Using the app is fairly simple. Car selection is good. Only issue I have with the app is all the fees. The rental could only be $50 for the day, but after trip fee, taxes and everything else you're still paying around $200 which is insane if the renter is only charging $50 for the day. Like taxes and insurance is understandable, but sometimes the trip fee the same amount if not more than the cost daily for the car. Zipcar prices are way more cheaper, insurance is optional and no matter what car you choose, you don't have to out a deposit down. Turo only has a better car selection.
Now granted, these are actual people's cars, but they choose that risk when they decide to let people rent their car. Insurance shouldn't be mandatory, especially if I already have renters insurance. My thing is if the car is only 30-40 for the day, there's no reason why the end total is 5-6x the amount. If turo was to cut trips fees in half and made insurance optional, the app would be better.

I’ve used Turo twice in the last month and rental agencies twice in the last month. Turo gave me two perfectly good cars for my needs. The first rental agency overcharged us; the second wouldn’t let us pick up with a debit card - leaving us without a car at midnight after a long flight. The Turo cars were available, much cheaper, and I felt valued for using them. It’s a bit more time consuming to pick up and drop off, but not that much more than picking up at an airport. The additional fees (service, insurance, etc.) are pretty steep (the only thing I don’t like), but you know all fees and expectations upfront - no surprises. From now on, if I can use Turo, I will.

My first overall experience with Turo was in one word: ok. Could have easily been exceptional, but due to a glitch on the app or error on my part the difficulty experienced could/should have been avoided. I am referring to my original reservation while staying in Kailua Kona. When searching for cars in the Kailua Kona area, I filtered my choices with $0-$50 delivery fee and then sorted to low prices to high. I found a vehicle that seemed to fit our needs including budget, and booked it. Then after confirming the payment was made, I noticed the vehicle was actually on another island of HI, not the big island of Hawaii where we were. I immediately canceled and still had to pay a fee for canceling (approx. $58). Apparently the app thought I was looking for a car on any island of HI, I was not. So there is my feedback, the auto we ended up with renting was excellent and the owner was super to deal with. Thank you for hearing me out...

I have vehicles on Turo and ready to remove them from the platform. Guest can actually smoke in my vehicles and there's literally nothing I can do about it due to not having any before and after photo proof (ashes, burn marks, etc)! As long as guests clean up any proof, I'm SOL. I'd also need to have before and after pictures. The before pictures would have to cover every inch of the car. All I can do is place my vehicle on snooze for a couple of days while I spend time and money removing the smoke smell. If the car smells like smoke, the next guest can cancel the trip with no repercussions (which is understandable). Neither Hosts or guests are allowed to smoke in Turo vehicles. If the vehicle smells like smoke, only the host is affected. The money used to get rid of the smell comes from the money made from the recent trip.

The app makes it easy to select a car, a location, and allows for pictures to be taken to verify that you have not damaged the car. With a conventional car rental company, they can claim you damaged their car even if you didn’t.

This was my first time using Turo, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The reservation process was easy. The pick up process was smooth - I picked up my car just outside the terminal at Sanford Airport. So simple and convenient! My host was amazing, and the Jeep was wonderful! So much fun to drive! I'm Turo from now on!

I recently took a trip and after the trip I had to pay a gas fee for not filling up the gas tank. It was fine, but I kept getting messages from my host even when I already paid the fee. He, Tyler, was being rude and told me “it was not his problem” and that I should have found a way.

The cars that are rented are very old. The car that rented got a flat tire and replacement cost was insane. They changed Mutiple things. A tire replacement should cost 100 bucks, but I was charged 400 bucks. Insane high price.

I normally rent via Enterprise or Budget… but I specifically wanted a hybrid or electric car for my recent trip. My family member told me to try Turo. So, I did. Arman’s 2020 Prius was just what I needed and the experience was so smooth and seamless. I will be checking Turo from here on out for future rental needs.

Owner communicated great, the car was perfectly clean and rode smoothly. I love the owner communicated and asked if we needed anything additional that we did not book but would help if did. I would recommend this car & owner to any family of 4-5. The truck fit our luggage perfectly and was very spacious. The owner also provided complementary water and wipes.

When we picked up the car, we waited at the door for some time before the host answered. She said she was putting her dog away. We scheduled for 10:00 and I felt she should have been prepared. As we accepted the keys, we noticed significant damage and took a number of pictures. Now the host is alleging there is a “dent” on the passenger door and Turo is taking $500 from my account. The host now wants to fix an alleged tiny dent that is barely visible when the car has underwent severe damage. I’m saying illegitimate payout and scam. DO NOT RENT FROM TURO. Just go the traditional method. I won’t be doing this again.
I did request 3 quotes from 3 commercial and reputable body shops before any money or retrieved. Turo is also attempting to gather my insurance information and billing my card on file??!! Double dipping. I can’t even see the damage from the angle of the photo the host sent. At drop off, I again waited at the door for several minutes incurring Lyft fees. I think the host was again sleeping and unprepared for the 10:00am drop off. She then blew up my phone trying to “make an arrangement” without involving Turo. It was so harassing that I told her to follow Turo protocol. This has been a nightmare experience and I will let everyone I come into contact with to not use this method and go traditional. I’ve never had a problem With commercial rentals. This, a pure and total scam for everyone on the other side to make a quick easy dollar.

I have mostly just positive things to say. Your app is easy to use, and has a very smooth process for onboarding new users. The owner who I rented from was incredible, friendly, communicative, and flexible with my needs. I hope that my future experiences are with owners like him. My only complaint is about the communication concerning fees within the app. I understand why there are fees. You I only wish that they were presented upfront and not at the end of the checkout process.

I rented from Turo and had some minor damage to the taillight which should not have cost more than $500. The owner claimed that the car also needed body work (unfortunately no documentation of this as it was not something any reasonable person would think to document prior to renting). Turo estimated the work at $1998, miraculously just $2 less than my deductible. Turo customer service was incredibly unhelpful. Also credit card insurance does NOT cover rentals under Turo. So I was out $2000 in addition to what I paid for the car with absolutely no recourse. You are MUCH better off renting from a traditional car rental company until Turo gets their act together.

This was my first rental, so I was a little naïve to the process, and it took me a few people on short notice to line up the vehicle that was for me. Once I got approved to rent, it was a very smooth experience. I thought the pricing and the delivery fee was very reasonable. I did get the full insurance, and thought that was a little expensive,. But since I wasn’t sure if my credit card or car insurance would cover any damage, I want it to be safe rather than sorry. I would use the service again.

I've rented vehicles from a Nissan Murano, to a Porsche 911 and the majority of the experiences have been perfect. The only problem is hosts cancelling the evening prior to pick-up (11pm) without warning. I see a lot of that in the reviews as well, you don't get that with regular rental companies. I did not get offered any assistance or discount to get a new vehicle booked. Thankfully I was able to find someone on the app that could accommodate me on super short notice and stay in my price range. It was not however the class of car that I was initially renting, so I did not get my "bang for my buck" as I had planned and rented way ahead of time. Besides curveballs like that, the app is a great way to drive some of your dream cars without the sticker shock of purchase.

I am very pleased with my experience with Turo app and service. It was the first time I used it and they had so many good options to pick from. Convenient pick up locations and communication between host was excellent. She was very flexible and even allowed us to change our trip time during the trip. Turo was user friendly and a lot more convenient than renting through a traditional car company. 10/10 would recommend to a friend or use again for travel in the future.

HORRIBLE. I was blamed for smoking when I didn’t. Truly a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. A few flakes of tobacco fell out of my cigarette box BUT NO SMOKE IN THE CAR. It is seriously UNBELIEVABLE that such a rule would be in effect without verification.

Instructions to vehicle and check in was perfect, unfortunately wasn’t expecting and wasn't posted on listing that I would have to pay $12 parking fee upon leaving the garage. Nevertheless the car drive smoothly, no issues with the car itself, I did find a few roaches in the car on the last day of my trip and also unfortunately left my car charger. Overall satisfied with the vehicle for the price. However I am disappointed that after asking multiple times about the reimbursement for parking I never got a response, poor communication.

This was my first experience with Turo and I have to say I was impressed. The host, car and entire process was simple. I have already booked my next Turo and expect the same experience. This is a much better experience than a rental car agency. The car is brought to you and you drop it off where you picked it up. I rented a vehicle for 3 days - The Host came and stole the vehicle from private property before my rental time expired. Planted a smokable substance in the vehicle. Took a picture of this substance and sent to Turo. Turo immediately charged me $278.75 for smoking in the vehicle, I do not smoke. He failed to inform them that he stole the vehicle back a day before my time expired. Which I paid $492.30 for the days I needed the vehicle. I was restricted out of my account with Turo, so I could not communicate or track the communication I had with the Host. I have went through all channels to communicate with this company, with zero success. Over $700 dollars and no service, customer service or response from this company. I sent police report, emailed, etc. Nothing from this company. Horrible Business Ethics.

The first time I needed a car, the brakes ended up just going out on me. The host took a day and a half (I could not work due to this), to get me another car. I was questioned to death about why I had a sense of urgency and needed another one ASAP. Ummm, that's one of the biggest safety needs with a vehicle and I can't make money otherwise?
The second time I needed a vehicle; the host waited until he confirmed the reservation, then messaged me 1 minute after the charge was completed changing the pickup location to the airport. It would've cost me so much more to do that with an Uber and airport fees. I was able to cancel after a very annoying call to customer service explaining why that was a problem especially on New Year's when it would be the busiest. I rented from a different host who's now ignoring my early cancellation request.
I told her my car got out of the shop much earlier than I was told, but she's just not communicating anymore. I will be out another $336 if she doesn't agree for something that isn't my fault. Turo won't help because she has to agree in the app. Basically, it's not worth the aggravation just to save a few bucks and trying to find the phone number to contact Turo in the app is ridiculous. I will never use this app again and for all 3 of these hosts to have 4.7+ star ratings and 30+ total ratings; I'm even more suspicious.

I attempted to rent a car on Turo's website. It went through, but the Host said I must send $250 dollars security deposit to hold vehicle. I complied, and thought all was well. I just happened to check my account and the rental was canceled. (NO notification to me). When I attempted to contact Turo, they told me that the Host was just kicked off Turo for Scams. I requested they send me the deposit that the Host was sent back, but they refused. I am out the $250! Apparently there is absolutely NO ACCOUNTABILITY for the Hosts, and they are free to scam you and keep the money!!!. I will NEVER use the company again because you cannot trust the hosts are not scammers. Please DO NOT EVEN THINK about using this company!!!

We recently used Turo in New York. We inspected the car prior to starting our trip and there were no cigarette butt in the car however when we returned the car the host reported to Turo with the picture of cigarette butt near the driver seat handle. This was not noted anytime during our trip, and we do not smoke so it is not possible for us to keep it there. When this was brought up to Turo’s customer service they did not listen to customer side rather they charged $ 300 and blocked us from the account as well. They only listened to the host and there are no proof that this was not planned by him. We are highly dissatisfied and unsatisfied with poor customer service by the big company. For them $300 matters more than customer and their satisfaction. They are not even willing to call or listen to our side. Strongly do not recommend the service.
