    My company rented two Ford Transit vans to shuttle our customers back and forth from the Las Vegas Strip to an offsite private event we hosted. Our Turo Host was Edward B. and he was super helpful and friendly. He responded instantly with any questions we had. The vehicles were clean and well appointed, and as described. They are rather large vehicles, but they maneuver and handle beautifully. With such a long wheelbase the turning radius isn't the greatest, but that is to be expected.     Rental worked great and owner was great to work with. Would rent from them again. My only complaint was that the first car I had reserved was pulled from Turo inventory and I was not notified.     Take a look at my last reservation. I am being bullied and threatened financially by the host and you have done NOTHING! I called your customer support and was told I would not be charged these ridiculous fees and you then uphold his outlandish charge of 1 gallon of gas’s plus $10 for the service fee.     Your host left me stranded in a dark cold parking lot in the middle of nowhere after threatening me, calling me names and telling me to shut my mouth or he would cancel my reservation and leave me stranded. I spent three hours on the phone with Turo and Turo supervisors to try to get someone to help me. I was outside in the freezing cold for over an hour before Turo finally sent an Uber to come get me. They refused to honor my original rate and find me a new car. My kids were late for school.

    I had to call Uber to get them to school costing me additional I’ve spent four hours now total dealing with Turo. This has been a terrible experience. I’m a small woman, I could have been mugged, I could have been assaulted, I could’ve been killed. I plan on filing a police report unless someone gets back to me, gives me a refund and reimburses me for my external expenses that I had because of their screwup.

The host was understanding of my situation and allowed me to extend as needed however I did feel a little overwhelmed with the fact that they took one of the cars back a 2019 Toyota Yaris and gave me a 2013 model but charged me $15 extra a day. There should be a way for a potential renter to first contact the host about where the car may be delivered for free. Additionally, overnight parking may also be an issue.     The car I rented was as described by Turo. The transaction was seamless and easy, once I figured out how the system works. The description of the process was not exactly what I had to do to make the system work.     I assigned a 1-star rating to bring attention to a crucial matter. Last week, I traveled to Northern California, having pre-booked a VW car with all-wheel drive a week prior. Upon landing in Redding, CA, the host texted me, stating that they had to cancel without offering an apology. In such situations, I recommend Turo implement stricter rules for hosts. If a host cancels last minute, the customer should at least receive a credit equal to the booked trip, and the host should be responsible for covering the cost. Additionally, Turo could introduce a penalty system, such as assigning black points to hosts. Accumulating 3 or 5 black points could result in the host being suspended for a month or two. Manipulating customers' time, especially when they are exploring new cities with set plans, is unfavorable. Unfortunately, I had to rent an alternative car against my preference due to the last-minute cancellation. I hope you take these suggestions into consideration for an improved customer experience.

    Rented Hennadii N’s 2024 Kona and after checkout was charged a bogus $170 smoking fee. We did not smoke in -or out- of the vehicle whatsoever. In fact, we were in the area for my wife’s moms funeral who died of end stage copd from smoking her entire life, so we are extremely anti smoking. The pictures provided as “evidence” from the host were of some road salt smudges on the inside of the doors and a crumbled leaf on the ground that we obviously tracked in on our shoes. Due to below freezing temperatures, every car wash in the area was closed (we went to 4 on the way to the airport), so we were not able to wash or vacuum the car out. If it was a normal cleaning fee, that would be one thing.

    I disputed the fee and provided my side of the story and Turo chose to uphold the bogus fee anyway. We won’t be using Turo again, which is a shame, my wife had even mentioned maybe becoming a host in our area because initially, the experience was very positive. I cannot recommend using Turo because the treatment I received by customer service is like they did not care about me as a customer at all.

    Turo is one of the most one-sided platforms for car rentals. I opened an account around 4-5 months ago, optimistic that this could be a nice way to make a few extra bucks on the side. After renting my car out ~20 times, I achieved All-Star Host in early January 2024. Achieving All-Star Host status didn't come easy as there were a few instances that made me question continuing to rent my car out through Turo. A few reasons are:

    1. Turo Customer Support is beyond poor. They are petty, they are retaliatory, they are greedy, and they are mischievous. One of the first issues you run into as a host is getting reimbursements through the platform. I had Customer Support cancel a reimbursement that one of my renters agreed to pay because they felt like it. Then they threatened to close my account because I was frustrated and gave them direct feedback about their shortcomings as a Support Staff. I had to go entirely out of my way and email hunt for executive's emails just to get a $36 reimbursement resolved.

    2. Turo does not screen their 1st renters well. I was hosting another trip for a renter who told me they were driving from Portland to California and back. This was fine and cool as this was the expectation that was set for the use of my family's vehicle. However, this renter decided to lie and additionally conceal that their actual trip was driving my vehicle from Portland to New York and back.

    During the trip they accrued numerous tickets which flowed in weeks after their trip ended, they brought animals into my car which urined and defecated in our vehicle, and when they returned our car they had provided it back in a condition that was beyond unsatisfactory; not to mention the smell of rotten animal waste. I attempted to submit an invoice to the renter to cover the $450+ cleaning fee, urine spot removal, damage to our trunk partition cover, scratches to the vehicle, and much more. Instead, the renter just had to ignore the invoice request and never had to pay a dime. When I flagged this to their support staff, they didn't look into the issue, instead, they just informed me to adjust a couple of settings on the website and to file an invoice request.

    3. Last but not least, I had a mileage reimbursement that was never paid out. On the platform, Hosts have the option to adjust the total mileage allotted on a per-day basis. I had mine set at 500 miles per day. My renter from this trip drove over 1000 additional miles during their trip. When I went to submit an invoice for the trip, there was only an option to submit a request for tolls or fees; neither option satisfied what I needed–however, I selected tolls. When I submitted this to the renter, again, all they had to do was ignore my request.

    Additionally, their support team went in and manually canceled my request. Then they told me that I needed to submit an invoice and that the time had already passed to do so. I decided to try and resolve this with one of their chat representatives, Joselito, who "assured me" that this would be resolved and that I would be reimbursed for the additional mileage. Spoiler alert, it didn't get resolved. Instead, the Support team decided to push my request to email where they sent me a standardized, cookie-cutter email, informing me (you guessed it) to file an invoice. When I grew even more annoyed, I decided to reach out to the executive team again and voice my irritation and frustrations with their customer support as a whole.

    In light of Turo and their entire team's inability to logically and critically solve problems, I decided to pull my car off their platform. Then the pettiest thing happened, I received an email from their executive support team stating that my account had been closed for breach of community guideline rules; another spoiler, they never referenced which guideline was broken just a blanket statement.

    Turo and their staff have zero ability to receive product feedback or constructive criticism. Rather, they just target and retaliate against you if you show one ounce of frustration with clearly frustrating situations and caused by Turo and their support staff. If you are thinking of hosting your car on Turo, Do. Not. Do. It!!! They are greedy, pathetically petty individuals, who have a complex entitlement issue.

    The Mitsubishi Outlander was great. A true gas sipper and the 4-wheel-drive came in very useful during the snow storms we had while there.     I have been using Turo for some time now as well as paying the highest prices ever! My last experience was horrible. I booked a car from a scam artist that put me in a car that would not accelerate in traffic. I decided to put my hazards on every time I went into to traffic to avoid being rear ended. Instead of fuss about it. When I returned the vehicle I was lied to and the host stated that she was doing a drop off and couldn’t meet me. The next day I was charged $150 for smoking in the vehicle which had a horrible smell when I picked the car up. I refuse to pay for something I didn’t do so there goes my business. The guests aren’t protected just the host, no assurance that the car you are booking is even safe to be on the road. Not to mention they believe more that I smoked in a car I didn’t than the actual safety of the vehicle. Removed the blue tape from the passenger door handle. Afraid the car would fall apart.

    Although the trip was fine after drop off the host claimed that the car was late which it wasn’t. He then claimed the car smelled of weed which I don’t even smoke period. He then posted HOURS LATER old photos of what appeared to be green substance throughout the car and a shell casing. I’m a nurse and I even explained that to him as to why I was having my stepson who is a ** man drop the car off due to my work schedule that day. I have never experienced this kind of situation before Which I feel is where the smoking and photos were made for. I filled the tank to full and he claimed it was on half, the car was vacuumed and clean and he claimed it wasn’t. Racism was definitely a factor in this case and not because of me but for my stepson. He wasn’t even there for the pick up of the car. He left the keys in the center armrest.

    I was disappointed as it went from an inexpensive impromptu mini vacation to the cost almost doubling from Turo fees & additional insurance. Then when attempting to return it trying to find EV charging stations by googling then discovering they weren't there resulting in being late for return only to find out by being "tardy" I was going to be charged an additional day! I spent a tremendous amount of time learning how to operate an EV. Cheat sheet for basics would have been nice versus the loss of time educating myself. Other than double my original expectations for cost & educating myself it would have been a 5 star!

    Turo has three parking lots. We returned the car to Value Park. The host said to leave the key in the Lockbox. When we asked the Host where to find the Lockbox. She said to ask the Attendant of the parking lot. When we dropped off the car in the parking lot (Value Park), there was no Lockbox. When we looked for the Attendant, there was no office open or anyone at the facility to ask about the Lockbox. When we called the Host, she did not answer the call.

    When we texted her with the problem, she did not respond. So, the 405 Parking Lot across the street which is another Turo Parking Lot, we could see the Attendant and we asked the Attendant if we can leave the car key for the Turo car there, and told her we parked the car in the Value Park. She said yes, and so we left the key in the 405 Parking Lot and texted the Host such fact with a picture of the location where to find the Key. The Host replied "Okay". Then Turo charged my credit card $50 plus Tax.

    Beware the hidden costs. Turo charges the customers for the Parking fees for the pickup, for the return, and Turo will charge you for every little thing. My car insurance covers the commercial rental cars. But it doesn't cover Turo, so I have to buy the Insurance separately. When you add up all these costs, then the total cost of renting a Turo car is more expensive than renting from a Rental Car company. Turo has also so much inconveniences in the Picking up and Returning the car, and very importantly, the cars are very old cars and it can breakdown on the road due to its age and poor maintenance. If it breaks down on the road, there is no one to assist you but yourself because the Host is not going to pick up the bill for towing the car. DO NOT USE TURO.

    Having never used TURO previously, I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a good experience and mostly convenient. The car was left and dropped off near my scheduled flight arrival and departure airline. The app for taking and submitting pictures was not reliable, we had to re-take photos a couple of times. The car owner or representative was very responsive. We had to cut our trip short and the owner quickly approved our request for adjusting the trip return date and provided great instructions as to how and where to return the car. We even got a credit back on our card without having to inquire. We were very appreciative of that. We will for sure use TURO again.

    Great experience with John at HVN airport. Superb airport pickup info on the Turo website. Apparently the only airport in Connecticut that has an agreement to allow Turo to have a presence at their airport. This was my first Turo experience and I had been really concerned about how an airport pickup would work- well it was flawless. I will always check to see what offerings Turo has whenever I rent a car in the future.

    Booking with Turo was good. I did have a hard time with my booking because I wanted my husband to be the main driver however I’m the one was making the booking under my name. We had to open a second account under his name to name him as the main driver. It would be simpler if under one account we could name our driver and submit his information.

    We rented Juan **’s car. He was great to communicate with during the trip and quick to answer questions we had, however once we returned the vehicle he asked to to help pay for cleaning his car since he claims we left his car dirty with pet hair. He also included a few pictures showing the pet hair. We never had pets in his car at any time! We don’t even own a pet!! Sounds like he was trying to scam extra money from us by accusing us of having pets in his car! I replied to him that I was NOT agreeing to pay him extra for cleaning his car from pet hair since we had no pets!! He replied saying I was right, no worries.     I contacted Turo at least 5 times in regards to numerous issues with my rental (extreme lateness, cleanliness, smell and no gas in the car) - the first rep stated they would factor in the discount and resolve the issue. Over the time frame that didn’t happen. Despite the host offering 15% off the final rental price but nothing to as done. I eventually was offered $50 which is literally an insult for the time frame. I typically rent my cars from Enterprise but after this experience I’m going to consider going back.

    Vehicle was already in a warning. The host reach out telling me his vehicle was making noise when it already was making noise when I took off with the vehicle. After drop off he try to tell me he just paid out of pocket to the mechanic. How is that. I just left. You then lie to customers service about a receipt for a charge of a water cleaning in the seat.
